Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de Contrabando – Amor y Dinero Negro
Episode 139 #1 of 8
Nilufer is talking with Fatih by phone. She tells him he’d better not be telling her he is not coming. Fatih says he is almost there. He asks if she wants anything. She says, nothing, for him just to come soon. He notices that she sounds different and asks if something has happened. She tells him something terrible happened.
Nilufer: My husband is coming to my house. He says it’s because he wants to see me, but then she noticed he took Elif’s gun with him. How could he do that?
Fatih: We’ll talk soon.
Nilufer: I want you to tell me the truth, Fatih.
Fatih is impactado: I was going to say the truth. I had to make some changes to the deal we made with Omer.
Nilufer: What changes?
Fatih: I had no choice. I was between my father and Omer, I was running out of room, and about to lose. If I lost, you would lose too. I would be left without a single penny, and it’s something that belongs to me.
Nilufer: You say you betrayed Omer and my sister just so he would give you money?
Fatih: You have no idea the things I’ve had to do for him, Nilufer. I had to kill Fatih so Metin could be born. The psychopath has me. He has to pay for that. Every penny he has, he owes me. If you think it’s just money, that’s your problem. See it that way if you like. But, for me it represents more.
Nilufer: I only wish I could trust in you sometime.
Fatih: Princess, you and I are the same. We’ve always been able to understand each other. So, I know you’ll think about what I’m saying and that you’ll understand me, and I also know you won’t say anything to Omer. vIs that not so?
Nilufer: You forget my sister is in jail.
Fatih: I haven’t forgotten that she is in jail. I need you to wait for me. I’m going to help, but for the moment, I can’t.
Nilufer: Fatih, tell me if my sister is in prison because of you. Tell me if you did anything to help her. Did you set a trap?
Fatih: I never imagined what was going to happen.
Nilufer: What are you talking about?
Fatih: I didn’t think it would end like this. Believe me, I’ll help Elif, but I need more time.
Omer enters just now and doesn’t see that she is on the phone, calling out: Nilufer?
She jumps up in a panic and Fatih, hearing Omer’s voice, makes a pained face.
Fatih: Nilufer, are you alone? Don’t tell me you are with Omer.
Nilufer looks terrified and denies that she is with Omer. She asks why he asks that? She is alone.
Fatih: OK, see you.
Omer asks why she said that and if she was talking to Fatih. She breaks down crying. Omer asks what happened.
Fatih drives up to the hotel. He is definitely thinking and probably knows she was talking to Omer. He goes to get out when his father drives up, blocking his exit.
Tayyar: Where do you think you’re going, Fatih?

Episode 139 #2 of 8
Up in Nilufer’s room. She is with Omer and is very upset.
Nilufer: I didn’t notice. Fatih stole the gun. He just admitted it. I’m sorry, Omer, I couldn’t help it. I wanted to hear from him. What has happened? I know I ruined it, Omer.
Omer: I knew he was behind this. I thought I could escape, but I never imagined it would be something like this.
Nilufer: He won’t come, will he? If only I had kept my mouth shut!
Omer is visibly upset, which only makes Nilufer more so.
Nilufer: No, my husband got my sister sent to prison. What if she never gets out of there? What are we going to do, Omer?
Omer: We can’t change the past. But don’t worry, I’m going to find Fatih and he’ll pay for everything he’s done. We call and ask him if he has any recordings of the day when Fatih took the gun. Let’s hope he does. If so, I want him to give them to me. Nilufer, the life of Elif is on the line. We can’t make a mistake. Agreed?
She nods.
Omer: If Fatih calls, I have to know.
Tayyar and Fatih are sitting in the van.
Tayyar: I thought you were more intelligent, and it turns out you’re a fool. What’s wrong with you? You were going to ruin everything. You almost got caught, idiot! I take up all my time saving my dam skin.
Fatih has been staring straight ahead but turns to look at Tayyar now.
Fatih: I wonder if you’re saving my skin or your skin, dear Dad.
Tayyar: Thanks to you, both of us. You should be grateful. (Index finger wagging here!) Because, thanks to me, Omer couldn’t trap you.
Fatih turns to look at Tayyar.
Tayyar: What? What!!! I’ve tapped your telephone. Even an idiot could have figured it out.
Fatih: You heard everything, you say?
Tayyar: I heard everything, but don’t worry. That things you were talking about with Nilufer are a huge waste of time, a complete waste. Because that love you have for her is going to end. You’ll never see her again. She’s just playing with you, and you let her because you’re an idiot. Are you naïve, or did you have your brain in that kidney? The only reason she married you was to spy on what we do.
Fatih: It’s clear you never trusted Nilufer. You wanted to kill her. You forgot that?
Tayyar: Never mind, I’m warning you. Don’t make me angry. The only thing I care about is that she’s on Omer and Elif’s side. Don’t you know that? Huh? If they find out about us, we’ll be really screwed. They wouldn’t be satisfied with us in jail; they’ll want to kill us. But, before that, I’ll take care of you, taking out every single one of your disgusting organs. You’re going to stay away from her.
Fatih looks at Tayyar with a murderous gaze.
Fatih: Count on it. I know it.
Tayyar: I know that your promises can’t be trusted. Although, if what you love most is at stake, I’m sure you’ll think twice before betraying me. I’m going to stop the legal recognition proceedings.
Fatih’s eyes close at this: I did each and everything thing you asked.
Tayyar: Shut up. I’m going to put that matter on hold for a while, and I’ll be watching you. That’s my final word. Don’t forget that you’re dealing with Tayyar Dundar, or it will go badly for you. Be careful and don’t make any mistakes. Now we can change the subject.
In a restaurant, Nilufer is sitting at a table and Asli runs up to join her.
Asli: I came running as soon as you called. What happened?
Nilufer: He cheated on me again. He just told me.
Asli: How? Are you talking about Fatih? What did he do? Is it about Elif? Tell me what he did!
Nilufer: He went to our house and took the gun. It was all part of a plan. I have to explain. It was my husband who stole the gun to frame her and send her to jail.
Asli holds Nilufer to calm her.

Episode 139 #3 of 8
Omer is driving and his phone rings. He answers Tolga, who tells him Fatih is at his father’s house. Is he safe?
Yes, he’s safe. He’s with Tayyar.
Omer: Very good. Wait for me. I’m on my way.
Omer makes a U-turn and heads back.
Tayyar and Fatih are climbing the stairs in Tayyar’s home.
The receptionist tells him there are two people waiting for him. One is in his office and the other is in the living room.
Tayyar: Very good. Now go, I’ll take care of them.
Fatih says it looks like visitor’s day. Keep working if you want, I’m tired. I’m going to sleep.
Tayyar looks skeptical, but tells him: Yes, resting will do you good. You can clear your head and realize how stupid you were, and you’ll decide to do everything else well.
Fatih looks ashamed and walks down the hall. Tayyar follows him to his room, where Fatih slams the door. Tayyar then enters the room at the end of the hall, his office.
There he finds his first guest: Well, I was expecting to hear from you, but a visit is better. Welcome, Doctor, it’s a pleasure. [Oh no! It’s Elif’s psychologist!]
Tayyar asks him if he has any ideas of how to treat his patient. How was your first session with Elif?
In Elif’s prison room, we see her lying in bed holding her head, thinking of what the psychiatrist told her.
Doctor: Some traumatic episodes can cause amnesia. It’s very common for this to happen when one witnesses or causes a violent death. Our brain creates this defense mechanism.
(Elif turns on her side, remembering this.) We all have to take responsibility and also pay for our mistakes. While she is remembering the doctor visit, the two crooked inmates are planning their next move.
Boss Crooked Inmate (BCI) tells the other to talk to Elif. Have you thought about what you’re going to say to her?
Follower Crooked Inmate (FCI) nods.
BCI: It seems that the doctor poisoned her little brain. We have to take advantage of the fact that she’s thinking. You have to pressure her. Remember everything I told you? With that push, we’ll make her start to go crazy. If we can do it, we’ll be rich like her.
FCI doesn’t look very convinced. But she nods and goes over to Elif. She brings her some tea and asks if she’d like some. Elif thanks her.
FCI: At first, it’s hard to accept. You ask yourself, how were you able to do it?
Elif looks at her awhile: I can’t recall.
FCL: Remembering it is hard because you can’t handle the remorse. We have angels and demons inside us, and when we lose control, we’re capable of anything. Look at all these women here; none of them wanted to be a criminal. It would be wonderful to be able to change our destiny, but we can’t. When you have the strength to face it, you’ll remember. Don’t be so hard on yourself. You did what you did to avenge your father. You acted well.
FCL leaves Elif to consider her advice. Elif lies down again, very impactada.

Episode 139 #4 of 8
Omer is approaching the Tayyar mansion stealthily and passes a silver van. He can see some men further away, near the mansion entrance. Omer quickly enters the van and finds his team. Ipek and Tolga.
Ipek: Tayyar and Fatih are still inside the house. Did they (this probably refers to the previous crew which Ipek and Tolga replaced) see anyone else?
Tolga: People have been coming and going all the time.
Omer: Were they able to identify any of those people, or did something catch their attention?
Tolga: No, Omer, just the arrival of Fatih. And what are we going to do now?
Ipek: The prosecutor wouldn’t give us a warrant to enter. We tried, but it was impossible.
Omer: Look, the truth is, I don’t have time to be talking about the prosecutor, Ipek. I’m going to talk to my brother-in-law privately in front.
Inside the mansion, we see Tayyar walking down the hall to meet guest number two, Nedret.
Tayyar: Welcome, Nedret. How are you?
Nedret: Welcome, you say? Sure? Because it seems you haven’t felt like seeing me lately. It’s been impossible to talk to you.
Tayyar looks surprised: It’s because the work has kept me too busy, dear Nedret.
Nedret: You promised me something. Did you do anything about it?
Tayyar: What did I promise you?
Nedret: Tayyar, look I may seem naïve. You know perfectly well what I’m talking about. You told me you were going to protect Elif. I want to know if you have helped her at all.
Tayyar: Ah, Elif, Elif, of course, I kept my promise. I sent a psychiatrist to see her. She had a session with him and now she feels much better.
Nedret stares at Tayyar.
Outside, in the silver van, Ipek is telling Omer he can’t go in the house without the warrant. She tells him she is not going to allow it.
Omer: I’m not asking for your permission.
Ipek: Omer, don’t be so stubborn, please. We’ll call Arda and Pelin and we’ll go in there as the team that we are.
Omer: There won’t be a team. I’m going in there alone. It’s decided.
Tolga: That’s crazy. It’s too dangerous. It must be full of armed guys. If they catch you, they’ll take you and then we won’t be able to find you.
Omer: They’re not going to catch me. I know very well how to get in there. I’ll wait until they go to sleep. Fatih will be the only one who wakes and he’ll come with me. He won’t be able to resist.
Tayyar walks Nedret out of the mansion: I’m glad to have seen you, dear, but it’s not a good idea for you to come to my house. It’s very dangerous. In fact, it seems like we don’t see each other.
Nedret: Well, yes, I agree but you must keep your promise. If not, I’ll be forced to reconsider our alliance.
Tayyar: We’ll both have plenty of time to think about each of the alliances we’ve formed.
Nedret: You’re trying to suggest something to me? I remind you that your future is in my hands. I can send you to prison, Tayyar.
Tayyar: If I were you, I wouldn’t dare. Use that hat, please.
Nedret puts on the hat and walks out of the mansion.
The crew watches her as she leaves. Tayyar walks after her.
Tolga is unable to identify the woman.
Tolga: No, but she’s surrounded by a bunch of gorillas. Tayyar’s there, too.
Omer: Give me the binoculars , Tolga, maybe I can find out who she is.
Omer looks over the whole crew and is very surprised to see Nedret.
Omer: It’s Aunt Elif, Ms. Nedret.
Ipek: What? Look again. Why would that woman be here?
Omer: I don’t know, Ipek. We have to find out. But this is a big surprise.
They watch Nedret drive off.

Episode 139 #5 of 8
Asli and Nilufer walk out of a lawyer’s office.
Asli: You see, the lawyer told you, you can get a divorce right now. That’s very good news. If you dare tell me you can’t divorce him, because you love him, I’ll stop being your sister right now. I’m very serious. Look at me, look at me. We knew you loved him, that’s why we tried to accept it, but he’ll always be the same. You have to accept that he’ll never change. Think of damage he’s done to us! Elif is in prison and I’m going crazy. It’s time you finished with this illness.
Nilufer: I’d like to be alone for a while.
Asli: I’d rather go with you. I don’t think being alone will help you at all.
Nilufer: I’ll go alone. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.
Nilufer walks away from Asli and walks toward the water.
Back at Husseyn’s new home, Neco finally comes back. Husseyn asks why he took so long. Husseyn tells him the nurse has left. At least you might have brought me a television.
Neco: Fatih doesn’t want you to have a television or radio.
Husseyn thinks about what this means.
Husseyn: To hell with him, idiot!
Neco: But I have good news. Mr. Fatih managed it. Look, it’s your new passport.
Husseyn looks it over: My name is Ivan Jinlu?
Neco tells him he is Bulgarian of Turkish origin.
Husseyn: Ivan is not a Turkish name.
Neco: It’s a real passport. Its owner just died. It won’t give us any trouble. Not even your mother will find you.
Husseyn: I wish she would find me. She’d bring me soup and say, “Son.” Do you have a passport for Burhan?
Neco: Mr. Fatih didn’t speak of this and I can’t ask. You should speak to him about it yourself.
Husseyn: I would, but I don’t know where he is.
Neco: Don’t ask, Tayyar wants to keep you close. Fatih is with him. While he sorts it out, I’ll take care of you. You must be patient. When you see him, you can talk to him.
Husseyn is still thinking: I suppose I deserve it. I negotiated with the jester instead of the emperor. But what happened to you, Husseyn? What happened to you, inept fool?
Neco: Well, this should be enough for now. When the nurse arrives, she will prepare something else.
Husseyn: You brought me what I asked for?
Neco: Husseyn you can’t tell the man I did this. (He gives Husseyn a bottle wrapped in a newspaper.) I would get in trouble. Besides, this isn’t good for your treatment.
Husseyn tells him he wants a TV so he can watch it whenever he wants. You hear me? I’m tired of these stupid rules.
Neco: I’ll talk to him.
Husseyn: And serve me some water.
Neco does so and tells him he will be inside.
Husseyn looks at the newspaper.
Nilufer is walking along the water. She’s trying to calm herself with breathing, but she is obviously very stressed. She’s holding a paper in her hand. Her phone rings to tell her she has a new message. She listens: I have your test results. Please call me.
Nilufer dials the number: Is there bad news? She asks if they can give her the results now.
The doctor tells her it’s very serious and her life won’t be the same ever. She then tells her she is pregnant. Nilufer hangs up. She is very impactada.

Episode 139 #6 of 8
Back at Tayyar’s, the team is still watching his home. After Nedret leaves, Omer watches the baddies go back inside and tells the crew it’s time for him to go in. He tells the others they can leave.
Ipek: Omer, at least let us wait for you, please.
Omer: You have to leave. We don’t have a court order. I don’t want to get you in trouble.
Tolga: We won’t go in with you. We’ll stay here. If something’s wrong, we can help you.
Ipek: You know that house is like a fortress. You’re not going to be able to get Fatih out easily. You’re going to need our help, Omer.
Omer: I’m bored with you. I want you two back at the station. Don’t even think of doing anything behind my back. You know you’ll pay for it. I’m leaving.
Omer gets out of the van.
Ipek also gets out, and he tells her she is the most stubborn person he’s ever seen in his life. She tells him the same. He stands by the van waiting for them to leave, which they finally do.
Omer jumps the wall into the garden. He sees a guard walking his way and disables him.
Inside, Fatih is rewatching Nilufer’s last video message, telling him she is waiting for him.
Omer finds a screwdriver in a bucket. He uses it to open a window.
Tayyar is sitting at his desk, looking at his computer.
Fatih is still looking at Nilufer’s video.
Omer appears to be going up some stairs. He reaches the hall and goes toward Fatih’s door (and Tayyar’s door).
Omer tells Fatih under his breath to just be patient. Fatih puts his phone on the nightstand and turns out the light.
Faith hears his door open and sees Omer holding his gun and enter the room. [It drives me crazy that Omer doesn’t close the door behind him.]
Omer: Hello little brother-in-law, how are you?
Fatih: In my bed. What are you doing here, Omer?
Omer: You’re going to come with me. There are a lot of things you need to tell me.
Fatih: Look, if you want, I’ll tell you tomorrow. If they see that you’re here, everything we’ve planned will be ruined.
Omer: Just shut up, idiot. We’re leaving.
Fatih lies back in bed, looking like: Make me!
Omer: I said we’re leaving.
Fatih thinks for a bit and gets out of bed. Omer tells him to hold his hands up: We’re leaving in silence.
Fatih: Well, I didn’t want to talk either. I’m not in the mood.
Omer: Let’s go.
Just then Omer feels Tayyar’s gun on the back of his head. Tayyar looks very full of himself.
Tayyar: Good evening, Captain Omer.
Fatih takes Omer’s gun.
Out in the yard, a nice grave has already been dug, just right for Omer.
Tayyar: You yourself brought this on yourself, Captain. Although it wasn’t in my plans, this seems perfect.
Omer: You won’t escape, Tayyar. Soon, you will pay for everything.
Fatih is looking very stressed. Tayyar asks him: Did you hear that? The captain is about to die, but he can give a dramatic speech, look at him, he’s pathetic. He tries to act like a hero. It runs in the family because his brother acted the same way.
Omer: You’re going to pay for everything.
Tayyar looks at Fatih: What are you waiting for? Shoot him. You must kill your father’s worst enemy, that way you’ll show that you’re on my side.

Episode 139 #7 of 8
Fatih: What? You want me to kill a policeman? A cop will become hell. His friends won’t stop looking for us.
Tayyar: We’re going to kill them one by one. It will be very easy. Don’t worry.
Omer is looking stressed.
Fatih smiles at his father.
Tayyar tells him: This will be your test. Show me you are a Dundar. If you don’t dare, I can do it myself with pleasure.
Omer: How about letting him do it himself for you? He’s using you. OK, I know.
Fatih keeps looking up.
Tayyar is watching Fatih intently.
Fatih’s jaw flexes with anxiety. Now Tayyar is looking directly at Fatih.
Fatih: Do you need time to think about it? We don’t have plenty of time, so decide now. Fatih takes out his handgun and loads a round.
Fatih: I don’t need time. Of course I’ll do it. Leave me to do this.
Tayyar ushers the others away from the grave, leaving Fatih and Omer.
Fatih is nodding his head, hopefully indicating to Omer that he will be OK.
Omer looks at Fatih, waiting.
Back in the field hospital, Husseyn is reading the paper. He makes comments like: That’s crazy! What’s he thinking? I don’t know why he thinks I could be interested. He unwraps the bottle, also in a newspaper. Then he sees what Fatih didn’t want him to, the headline showing Elif entering the prison.
Husseyn: What is this? What did he do? I’ll kill you, Fatih!
Hey Neco! Neco! Listen, I want Fatih to come here right now.
Husseyn keeps yelling “Neco!”
Meanwhile, back at the grave, Tayyar and his henchies are at their van. Tayyar sees Fatih holding the gun, and he says: Shoot him, show that you are a real Dundar!
There’s a long wait, with everyone waiting for Fatih to shoot.
Finally, Fatih shoots and Omer falls forward after being shot.
Tayyar starts to smile. Fatih puts his gun in the holster and goes to the body, which he shoves into the waiting grave.
Fatih: Believe me, I’m sorry, Omer.
Tayyar: Now he’s really my son.
Fatih saunters toward the van: It’s done, let’s go. They get into their vehicles, and Tayyar is watching Fatih closely. Off they drive.
We see Omer in the grave, not moving.
Back at the police station, Arda asks Pelin why she thinks something is wrong. There are no car tracks, only ours.
Pelin: We investigated the scene twice and found no more tracks.
Arda: They haven’t invented teleportation, nor do they have wings. How did Elif and Husseyn get there?
Arda: They erased the tracks except the ones they wanted us to see. Omer is right, they’re good at altering evidence. Tayyar already has a network in the department.
Ipek and Tolga come in, slamming the door behind them.
Arda: Where is Omer?
Tolga: He went into Tayyar’s house. He is crazy.
Arda and Pelin: What, how? But he went into the house?
Ipek: We told him no, but he didn’t listen.
Arda: OK, but why didn’t you stay with him?
Ipek: He kicked us out because we didn’t have a warrant to enter the house and we would get into trouble.

Arda to Tolga: And you?
Ipek: They listened to him, Arda, don’t talk like that as if you don’t know Omer. He didn’t calm down until we left, but you should have told me as soon as you left Tayyar’s house.
Tolga: We did everything we could, Arda.
Arda: What were you thinking? How could you leave Omer there alone?
Pelin: What are you doing?
Arda: I’m calling Omer.
Arda gets the “away from telephone” message.
Arda: His phone doesn’t answer. Dammit, guys. This can’t be happening. Pelin follows him out.
Ipek and Tolga are left, very upset.
Tayyar and Fatih are in the van. Tayyar: I honestly thought you wouldn’t be able to do it.
Fatih: That’s your problem with me. You always underestimate me.
Tayyar: Well done, well done. Keep surprising me like that. OK. You showed you are a real Dundar. With that bullet, you proved your loyalty. You chose your side.
Fatih: Well, then, now you know what you have to do.
Tayyar: Patience brings salvation, my son. Patience is the most important attribute you can learn in this business.
Fatih: Yes, you know. I’m sure that patience will be our salvation, Father.
Tayyar: So be it.
At the mobile hospital, Husseyn is still yelling at Neco telling him to keep calling until Fatih answers.
Naco: But if he doesn’t answer, he must be busy.
Husseyn: Of course he’s busy, working for his father, securing the billions he’s going to receive as an inheritance.
Husseyn tries to get out of the bed.
Neco tells him Fatih has considered everything.
Husseyn: What did he consider? He cut off my dam legs. So, he could blame him for my death, and Omer, my whole family cried over my tomb. He deceived me, but I’m going to show him. You’re going to call him, tell that miserable wretch to come right away, or he will regret it. If you don’t want me to find Omer, and tell him everything that happened, make him answer. Call him!!!!
We see Omer still face down in the grave. A white dove is in a tree and then flies off. This could mean his soul has taken flight, but I prefer to think it’s a sign he is still OK.
In prison, Elif is lying in bed on her back, thinking hard. She looks quite different from the self-assured woman she was when she entered. She gets out of bed and stands at the window. A white dove lands there. She receives the “message” and smiles.

Babachita
Thanks Babachita! Excellent as always!
I definitely don't think Omer is dead! I'm sure Fatih either shot his side or didn't actually shoot him at all. It's odd that Tayyar and everyone else backed off and then left him in an empty grave and didn't even bother filling the dirt. Beanie time!
More of Tolga and Ipek together - will these two become a thing? It is easy for Arda to criticize Ipek and Tolga for doing what Omer says when Arda himself follows all of Omer's whims.
The question in my mind is: Will Omer just walk away when everyone leaves or will Omer and Huso end up 'dead' in the same makeshift hospital?
Seeing Nedret at Tayyar's could be damning but then again she could have been there for anything. She could have come to yell at Tayyar and blame him for Elif's troubles! Elif herself has stormed Tayyar's castle more than once.... it would probably have been more telling if they saw the doctor there!
While I'm thinking about it, I'm going out of town next week for Father's Day, I'm not sure I will be able to do my recap. Do we want to take the weekend off for the Holiday?
Darcy, I’m fine either way. We’ll let Dondi decide if we do just two or take a Father’s Day break…
Babachita
Thank you for another great recap, Babachita. Great comments, Darcy. I don't have much to add.
I can do a recap next weekend. So if you are willing, Babachita, we will have 2 next week. We are getting closer to the end.
#140 part 1
Arda and Pelin are on their way to Tayyar’s house. He’s livid that Ipek and Tolga left Omer and he’ll never forgive them if anything happens to Omer. Pelo says, what’s done is done. Now I’m trying to find a signal from Omer’s phone. Arda’s phone rings and he hands it over to Pelo. He thinks it’s Tolga trying to apologize. It’s not Tolga. Pelo reads the message: Omer is here. Come get Omer. They sent the location! Arda… turn back! Quick!
Nilu goes to her room and turns on the lights. She’s shocked to find Asli’s been sitting there waiting for her. Where have you been, Asli asks, I tried calling you a thousand times, but you didn’t answer. I was very worried. Nilu is silent. Asli asks, tell me what happened. Are you going to say you were with Fatih?
I just went for a walk, Nilu replies, I didn’t meet with anyone. Nothing happened. I’m going to sleep. Asli keeps pressing Nilu. Okay, but you’ve made your decision, right? You’re going to sign. You’re going to divorce him, right? That man ruined Elif’s life. She’s in jail because of him. Think about that. I won’t allow you to see Fatih ever again.
Tayyar and Fatih arrive home. Tayyar has a surprise for him. A lawyer is there with paperwork. Fatih gets a message from Neco and quickly turns off his phone. Tayyar turns to Fatih and says, the moment you’ve been waiting for has arrived, Fatih Dundar. Here, take a look my son. Welcome to our family. Fatih is stunned. He says, weren’t you going to cancel this? It was just a warning to make you think, Tayyar replies, it’s what you do to motivate someone to achieve their goals.
Fatih looks over the papers. Don’t worry, it’s not fake, Tayyar says, now you can get an ID card. I didn’t want to make you wait any longer. What you did tonight completely surprised me. He holds out his arms. Aren’t you going to hug your father? Fatih declines. While the lawyer says goodbye to Tayyar, Fatih quickly checks his message from Neco: I can’t handle our guest. He went crazy.
Fatih says he has to go. Tayyar asks, where are you going? Are we going to play father and son, Fatih answers, I’ve been an adult for a long time. No, I’m worried about you, Tayyar replies, as soon as they hear about Omer’s death, and they find out I’ve recognized you as my son, his friends will target you. Fatih explains, that’s why I’m leaving. This is the first place they will look. Tayyar calls out, I’ll wait for news from you. Don’t ruin everything.
Arda and Pelin arrive at the site. [I’m wondering why Tayyar left an open grave and made it easy for Omer to be found so quickly. Neyse…] They find him and panic. Omer? They hop in the grave. Omer! Arda reaches out and turns Omer over.
We get the flashback. Tayyar heads back to his van. Omer asks Fatih, are you really going to kill me? Are you going to beg, Komiser, Fatih replies, you disappoint me. Omer stands up. What are you going to do? Fatih points his gun. It’s normal that you don’t understand me, he tells Omer. We see life differently. Now kneel, Komiser. Omer notes, you’ve never stopped being Metin. The woman you love will end up hating you.
You don’t understand anything, Fatih barks, there is no Metin. Get on your knees! Omer stands still. Fatih comes over to help him kneel. He quietly instructs Omer, if you don’t move, nothing will happen to you. Trust me. Fatih shoves him down, facing away from him. There will be a little blood, he says, but don’t move, stay calm. Hold your breath. We see in slo-mo that Fatih manages to graze Omer’s neck with his bullet.
#140 part 2
Back to present time. Omer is out of the grave and holds a cloth to his bleeding neck. Pelo brings him water. Arda asks if he’s feeling better. Omer smiles, I’m lucky Fatih Dundar turned out to be a good marksman, otherwise… Otherwise, what, Pelo asks, I was terrified when I saw you. I almost had a heart attack. Arda wonders what Fatih is up to. First, he sends Elif to jail, then he saves you. He knows we have a lot of info on him. Why does he take so many risks? I don’t understand.
Omer doesn’t know. If he has a conscience, why did he do this to the sister of the woman he loves? I only know one thing, Fatih loves surprises. Pelo wants to get Omer to the hospital. He says it’s not necessary, the bullet only grazed him. He probably hit his head when he fell and got knocked out. Pelo insists and she scolds him for going into Tayyar’s house alone. Arda advises Omer to surrender. He won’t win.
Fatih comes to the makeshift hospital. Huseyin goes off on him. You SOB! Was this your grand plan, you bastard?! Don’t shout, grandpa, Fatih warns. How do you expect me not to shout, Huso shouts [ha, ha.] You made that girl a murderer! My murderer! Is she really a murderer, Fatih asks, then how are you living? Are you an idiot? Come to your senses.
And who knows I’m alive, Huso says, nobody! Are you going to let Elif rot in jail for the rest of her life? She’s not alone, Fatih says, Omer will find a way to get her out. What else can I do? I have to manage you, your brother, and Tayyar Dundar. Think it’s easy? Without me, you’d be dead. And Elif would go to jail anyway. I’m a professional. Thank me that you’re alive.
Huso replies, you should have asked me. I would have come up with something better. Omer wouldn’t be involved. He wouldn’t be suffering. Elif wouldn’t be in jail. Fatih scoffs—with that tiny brain of yours? I’m sorry, you’re not someone to ask for advice. You’re not a strategist. You’re a dog that follows orders. That’s why Tayyar didn’t eliminate you before. Listen carefully, I’m going to be much more powerful than my father.
Looks like Omer won the argument. He didn’t go to the hospital. It looks like they are across from the Denizer house. Pelo worries that Omer’s bandage won’t hold up. Arda thinks Omer should go home and rest. He barely escaped death. Yes, that only makes me angry, not tired, Omer replies. He tells his friends to go. Arda tells him they will wait.
Meanwhile, Ipek is with Nedret outside the house. Nedret asks her, what are you accusing me of now? You know what you’ve done, Ipek says. Nedret tells her to leave or she won’t be responsible for what will happen to Ipek. Omer walks in on this and asks, what could happen? Nedret swiftly turns. Omer, get your ex out of here, please. And don’t come back to my house.
Ipek notices Omer’s wound. He ignores her and continues to question Nedret. What were you arguing about? Ipek says, I was asking Nedret Hanim what she was doing at Tayyar’s house. Omer exclaims, what a coincidence! I came to ask the same thing! Why are you worried about that, Nedret asks, it’s none of your business. Omer interrupts—if Elif’s aunt goes to the house of the man who put her in jail, it concerns me.
Nedret snaps, I went to Tayyar to demand an explanation for what happened to my niece. Or are you the only one with the right to know? We saw you at the door, Omer replies, we watched. You weren’t asking for an explanation, you even seemed happy. You weren’t arguing. God give me patience, Nedret says, do I have to waste my time with you? Get out now and don’t come back.
#140 part 3
Nedret goes inside. Ipek says, she won’t get rid of me that easily. Omer asks, why are you so angry with her? Because she was at Tayyar’s house, Ipek says, remember? Ah, Omer answers, don’t expect me to believe you. Tell me openly why you came here. Ipek replies, I think she’s a dangerous woman. She’s trying to separate you and Elif in every way possible. She offered me anything to separate you. She’s the one who changed the DNA test results. Omer is stunned.
Tayyar fixes himself a celebratory drink. Well, Omer Demir, you’ve gone to the other side. Tayyar gets a call from Nedret. Hi, Nedret I was going to call you with the good news. Okay, tell me the good news, she replies, what mountain did the wolf die on? [sarcastic] It’s not easy to please you, he says, but this news can make you very happy. We finally got rid of Omer. He’s dead.
Nedret scoffs, ah and so you say. What’s wrong, Tayyar says, I saw him die. It happened right in front of my eyes a couple of hours ago. Nedret fires back—Omer was just at my house. Whose eyes are blind? Tayyar is dumbfounded. He drops his glass.
Omer and friends are in the car. I thought Nedret didn’t want me because of my family, he says. There must be another reason she wants to separate me from Elif so desperately. Ipek suggests going after Filiz. There’s a hidden story there. Arda says that’s enough for tonight. Let’s get some rest now.
Tayyar tries calling Fatih. No answer. He screams and curses. Meanwhile, Huso is shouting at Fatih over what he did to Omer. Fatih tells Huso that Omer is still alive. He shows Huso his phone, the call that’s coming in from Tayyar. Look, he definitely found out that Omer isn’t dead. If your brother had not gotten involved, I wouldn’t have had to save him, handle that psycho Tayyar, and endure the insults of a sick former cop!
What do we do now, Huso asks. Fatih replies, you’ll do as I say. You’re obligated to me now. Huso asks, what obligation? We’re partners. You promised. Fatih says, things have changed. I didn’t think I’d get what I wanted so easily. Tayyar turned out to be a little too soft hearted. Now I’m officially his son. Wow, Huso snarks, you have the ID? Bravo. Why don’t you go celebrate with your friends? How many did you kill to get to where you are?
Fatih makes an offer. Tayyar Dundar must be eliminated. Kill my father and I will take over his empire. I’ll give you a fortune bigger than you could ever imagine. Go and build yourself a new life. Wasn’t the empire for both of us, Huso replies, what made you change your mind? You cut off my leg, for what? To keep everything? Now you ask me to kill your father? That’s not how it works. I won’t do it. I won’t kill your father. Get out! Find another killer!
You’re not alive, Fatih says, after you kill him, no one will go after you. You’ll have a new life. You should thank me. You’ll have so much money, your grandchildren will live like kings. I’ll have my empire. We all win and Tayyar dies. Huseyin, Fatih, Omer, Elif, Nilufer. You’ll help your family from afar and I will be here. Do it for your family.
Huso has one condition. Burhan will go with him. Fatih complains that Huso makes everything difficult. We have already spoken about this. It’s risky. If Omer finds out he won’t let it go. But Fatih relents. Huso agrees to do the job, for himself and his family.
Arda drives at the pink house. Pelo and Arda want to stay with Omer. Ipek says she’ll take a taxi home. If she’s very late, Yagiz will be upset and the sitter will want to quit. Omer tells Arda and Pelo to go, he’ll be okay. Arda says alright, but he wants to have someone watch the house. They will find out you’re still alive and we have to take precautions.
#140 part 4
Omer asks if they found anything else at the crime scene. Arda is about to spill, and Pelo says they can talk tomorrow at the station. Omer asks if she’s spoken to the DA. She says yes but don’t get your hopes up. Omer goes inside. Arda asks her why she stopped him from talking. Pelo says, didn’t you see him? Let him rest. He just had a close call with death. Arda thinks it could have given Omer hope. Pelo says if it doesn’t turn out as we think, then Omer will be disappointed. Better to be sure. Arda gets snarky about women being smarter than men. He gives up.
Omer writes a letter to Elif. My Elif, my breath, my woman, I’ve come home, your scent is everywhere. I hear your voice in every corner. [flashback to kissing at la bocca de verita in Rome] You surround me so beautifully and give me peace. I feel as if you are going to knock on the door at any moment. That’s how I live constantly, [flashback to Elmer dancing at the circumcision.] as if you were about to arrive. And I know you will come. I’m sorry, trust me. There isn’t a single moment of the day that I do not think of you. [flashback to Polonezköy] You are with me in every step and every breath. My love, my destiny, I know you are waiting for a miracle. Don’t worry, it will come. I will make it happen. Soon we will be together in our home. [flashback to seeing Elif at the shop in her wedding dress.] We will open the door to our house and enter together. Sweet dreams my love. Big sigh from Omer. He reads the letter, then crumples it! He takes a sip of tea and starts writing again.
Elif has a bad dream. She is walking down the dark and empty prison hallway. Sounds like a storm outside. She has scissors in her hand. Suddenly, Huseyin appears in her way. He stares at her, then falls backwards, seemingly dead. His shirt is bloody. Elif gasps and tries to help him. Please wake up, she cries. Huso lifts his head—Elif… don’t worry… you killed me… but I already forgave you. His head falls back. Elif says, I didn’t kill you, Huseyin. I didn’t kill you, she cries out. She shakes him and repeats this over and over again. Then she looks in shock at the bloody scissors in her hand. She insists again that she didn’t kill him. Elif wakes up, talking in her sleep. She sits up and looks at the window. There’s the white dove.
Tayyar is riding in his van. He gets a message from Fatih—a picture of his new ID. Fatih calls him. Tayyar immediately starts shouting—where are you?! Tell me! I went for my ID, he replies. Was it so urgent, Tayyar asks, what are you aiming at? Fatih says of course it was important. You know what I went through to get this. Here it is my name is Fatih and my father is Tayyar. Don’t make me crazy, Tayyar snaps, you didn’t do your job right! Omer didn’t die! I’ve been looking for you since last night.
Fatih plays dumb. Omer didn’t die? What happened? I should ask you that, Tayyar replies, you shot him! Fatih answers, I shot him in front of you and threw him in the hole. You saw it. It seems the Komiser has nine lives. I don’t know if he has nine lives, Tayyar barks, I only know he’s alive! You didn’t kill him. The man might arrest me. Relax, Fatih says, if he was going to arrest you, he would have done so already. We both know him. He must have plans. But I don’t think those plans involve us. Tayyar orders, drop everything and come home immediately!
Asli shows up at the pink house. She brought groceries. She ties an apron around Omer. She asks him if he’s ever cooked anything. He talks about helping his mother. He broke eggs. Cut tomatoes. Asli says she will teach him to cook.
#140 part 5
Elif sits in her bunk, staring. Hande’s little helper goes over to her. They are making breakfast, she says, are you hungry? Elif doesn’t want anything. Hande wanders over and says, so you’re not going to try anything from our stale bread table just because we don’t have any jam, sausages or cheese? Come on princess, speak up.
Elif looks annoyed and is ready to respond. But a guard comes to tell her she has a visitor. Hande complains, this isn’t a visiting day. The guard tells her to write the DA if she has a complaint. Hande complains to her helper [does anyone know her name?] that Elif receives special treatment since she’s rich. The helper says that Elif seems like a nice girl.
Elif thinks she’s going to see the psychologist. Surprise! It’s Omer! They hug. The guard warns them. He sees she’s wearing her ring. She notices the bandage on his neck. He says it’s nothing. Just a scratch. She’s worried. She wants to know the truth. Omer makes light of it. Signorina, did you forget I’m a police officer? It was a little accident. Look, I’m here, I’m alive, and I’m with you. That’s all that matters.
They sit. Omer asks her if she’s been crying. Elif says she just woke up, that’s all. She’s surprised he visited. He tells her Pelo spoke with the DA and got permission. And tomorrow, I’ll take your statement again for the department, he says, in case you remember anything. Elif says she doesn’t remember anything.
Omer looks at the guard, who looks away. He leans in and tells Elif. This was just an excuse. I came here to get lost in your eyes, your scent. I came to relieve my longing for you. I missed you so much. She replies, I missed you so much, too. Here’s the real surprise, Omer says. He takes out a container of croissants. These aren’t just simple croissants, he explains, your clumsy love made them with his own hands.
Elif opens the container and takes a big sniff. She doesn’t want to eat them now. She’s saving them for later. It will make her feel better. Omer has also brought her sketchbook and books. He says there was supposed to be a letter but… She asks, did you give up on writing? No, he replies, I wrote and wrote all night long, but I couldn’t express what was in my heart with words. Words are insufficient. Our eyes meet now and I can’t even explain it to you.
Elif confesses, remember when I told you that you were rude and thoughtless. I take it all back. You are the most elegant, thoughtful, and sensitive man I have ever seen in my life. How could anyone behave differently in front of you, Omer replies, how could anyone give up these beautiful feelings? Look at your smile—I would do anything for that smile. I would even bring down the stars just to see it one more time. My Elif, make a wish and I will do it. I want my freedom, she answers, I want to leave this prison. It’s all I want. He kisses her hands.
Melike is cooking and Demet has done the wash. Melike asks about the boys. Demet says they are playing outside. The radio that is playing, suddenly shuts off. Melike looks at another appliance. She thinks they’ve blown a fuse. She goes outside and there’s a man who is cutting of the service due to non-payment.
#140 part 6
Melike begs the man to keep it on. I’ve just buried my husband, she says, there are 3 orphans and 2 elderly people inside. My mother will have a heart attack. The man says he’s just doing his job. She continues to make her case. My husband was a policeman. Soon they will give me his salary and I can pay. The man says he can’t do anything. She asks, can you pretend you didn’t come? Come back in a few days and then I will pay. I swear, my husband just died. You can ask the neighbors. Have mercy.
Omer senses that something else is wrong with Elif. She asks Omer about his family. How are they? How is your mother? He’d rather talk about what’s bothering her. She says she doesn’t like her psychologist. Omer says they will request a change.
Elif says there’s no need to do that. I guess I don’t feel good being here. I’m the problem. Omer says, you’re in prison, so don’t think you’re the problem. She smiles, but I’m very lucky because my boyfriend makes me croissants. How many girls have that luck? Be patient, he replies, I’ll come soon with good news. My late father used to say, “clench your teeth and don’t sell your soul”. We were little and didn’t understand it then, but now I do. He was right, be patient.
I’ll clench my teeth and not sell my soul, Elif replies. Omer picks up one of the books he brought. What does the master say? “My love, in the midst of these footprints and this resounding massacre, I lost my freedom. I lost myself and you, but I will never stop believing in the day when I will emerge from the darkness, from the screams of hunger, from terror. The future will knock on our door with the sun in hand.”
Omer continues, a little sweetness, a little hope, a little happiness, the days pass a little better. Elif says, my days are always beautiful, even if I’m here, even if you’re only in my dreams and fantasies. You are very special to me. He replies, when spring arrives, we’ll smell its perfume. It’s enough to do it and we would like to take it home. But when this season ends, we feel nostalgic for its beauty, and I want to take your perfume home and smell it. You are my eternal spring. You are where I breathe.
The guard says that time is up. Omer tells Elif she must stay strong and never lose hope. Elif nods. The guard calls time again. Elif says, I love you, komiser. You are my hope. And your love is my world, Omer replies. She gathers up the things Omer brought. They gaze into each other’s eyes. Elif turns to look at Omer as she steps through the door. The guard closes the door. Omer looks sad.
And we are out.
Thanks Dondi! Excellent recap!!
Fatih was so entertaining in this episode. He had several excellent lines, I loved the whole: ‘Is she a murderer, are you dead?’ The man has a point! I also loved him playing dumb!! What Omer is still alive, how does that happen?? lol
Yeah good thing Fatih is apparently an expert marksman! Beanie time.
I already said it but it is so unfair for Arda to be furious with Tolga for doing what Omer says when Arda does everything Omer tells him to do.
Melike comes back in the house and Elvan asks her what is going on? Who was that man looking for? Melike explains they had a problem with the electricity, but thank God, they fixed it. Otherwise, they wouldn't have had any power. Elvan says don't worry about the boiler, it will be ready soon, but don't forget to pay for the oven. Melike agrees, but I wonder where she’s going to get the money. Melike wonders too, so she’s asks Fatma where she can get a job. Can Fatma help her find something.
Elif comes back into the prison room (it’s not a cell. Looks more like a dormitory) and sees everyone is done eating. She offers to save her croissants to share later. Hande of course steps to Elif and makes problems. She makes fun of her journal and then steals a croissant. Elif stands up for herself this time and a fight breaks out. Hande probably has the upper hand in the fight but Elif gets some hits in.
Pelo and Arda are back at the crime scene. Pelo thinks the investigating unit’s conclusions are far too confusing. Right on schedule one of the guys from the other team shows up asking what they are doing here. He’s a new cop, this is only his second case and he doesn’t recognize Arda and Pelo. Telling him who they are does no good though as he chases them off saying they need a permit to be there. This is a very delicate case. Only forensic personnel can be at the homicide scene. Arda is pissed, what did he say? Pelo says to calm down. It's fine. Besides, we were just leaving, right? We're done. Arda doesn't think so. They stole the case from us. Fine, Pelo agrees, but calm down. We already have what we need. We'll find out the truth.
The fight between Elif and Hande is broken up and Hande claims the officials are on Elif’s side but Elif was don’t act innocent, you started it! Some guy in a suit comes in and asks Hande’s helper who started it and she reluctantly backs Hande up and says Elif started it.
Asli enters Nilu’s room when she’s in the shower. She goes through her purse and tries in vain to guess Nilu’s phone password. She’s looking for something.
Arda and Pelo return to the station still upset that the other unit is shutting them out, but Tolga printed some photos from the scene and he’ll bring them and nobody will notice. Omer arrives wondering what no one will notice and Arda assures they aren’t referring to him. Omer supposes so, because they don't hide anything from him. Pelo spells it out, these past few days we've been going to the crime scene, and apparently the head of forensics doesn't agree. Arda says, apparently? Clearly, this guy doesn't want us investigating for any reason. He dodges every question we ask him, and as if that weren't enough, today he sent one of his men so we wouldn't be there. He doesn't want us to change the course of the investigation. But the good thing is they got what they wanted. They took some photos. Tolga has them-he'll print them and bring them. Pelo says this isn't something that hasn't happened before, so relax, we'll handle it. Speaking of the handsome devil, Tolga arrives. He came as soon as he could. Here are the photos. He also brought you the forensic report.
Other inmates are grumbling about Elif now as she paces and remembers Omer’s words. A guard arrives and says Elif’s doctor is there and Hande protests this too. It's unbelievable-they treat her like she's Cleopatra. I don't understand. This won't stay this way. I'll speak to the prosecutor.
Nilu comes out of the shower and catches Asli snooping. It’s hilarious that she didn’t try to hide what she was doing. She just says she’s acting like Nilu’s older sister. She just wanted to know if she signed the divorce papers. Nilu says she signed them. She goes to the closet and gets them out of a different bag. I couldn't stay married to him, Nilu concludes. My sister is suffering because of everything he did to her. It's over. You did the right thing, Nilufer, Asli assures. You were never going to be happy with that man. They're in your hands, Nilu says of the papers. I know you'll know what to do with them.
The bad doctor tells Elif he heard there was a fight. Elif says that's right. The doctor starts spilling his nonsense. He thinks in the session we had the other day she said she would never hurt anyone and that she was very sensitive. Elif agrees she did say that, Doc says perhaps the way you see yourself is a little mistaken, or lately you've become aggressive. Elif points out it doesn't seem right, he’s her psychiatrist, so why won't he let her explain before concluding something? Doc rambles on about how sometimes we don't see ourselves as we really are, but as we would like to be. We tend to wear different masks, not only to convince others, but also ourselves. That's the worst part. Elif looks like she’s paying attention unfortunately.
Our detectives are looking over the photos which are not very helpful. It's obvious the team didn't want to capture all the details. Not taking detailed photos at that moment helps them keep everything hidden. They won't be able recover what was lost now. Omer looks at another picture and is alarmed, someone put that there! It’s a lighter and Elif doesn't smoke. Why would she have a lighter? And they even wrote her name on it. It makes no sense. It's absurd. Had you seen this evidence before? Pelo and Arda have not. They added this evidence later. Oh, they want Elif to stay in jail. They are manipulating the investigation. Omer wants to charge in and take care of this but Pelo wants him to hang back and let her and Arda take care of it. It's better if Omer goes home and calms down a bit, because if he goes there with that attitude they could close the case. Omer says he’s going to find the bastard who made that report and make him pay for it. Arda plays the voice of reason and agrees with what Pelin. If they complicate things, they'll lose access to the information.
More of bad doc being psychologically manipulative. I can’t report all this but the bad news is now he wants her to take drugs too! Don’t do it Elif!!! He implies that Elif needs to cooperate, he can’t tell the judge good things about her if she doesn’t cooperate. If she truly expects to move forward with this therapy, she must do what he tells her.
Arda and Pelo are driving to confront someone, as per usual Arda is grumbling about traitors everywhere while Pelo is desperately trying to keep the wool over her eyes and believe there’s a good explanation. There discussion is interrupted when they notice Omer’s car speed past them. Looks like they didn’t convince him to stand down after all. Pelo sighs and says Arda, why don't you hurry up so we can catch up to him? We have to keep him from going in there and making a scene.
Nilu is on the phone with the doctor. Doc says she and her husband must discuss whether this baby will be born or not. She still has time to make a decision. She tells Nilu she’s five weeks along. In a couple more, she’ll be able to hear its heartbeat. Nilu says the truth is, I don't think we'll get to hear it. The doc says she understands. Once Nil makes a decision, she should call. Nilu agrees and turns to find Asli listening and wanting to know who she was talking to. Nilu is aggravated. Is Asli watching her all the time? Doesn't she get bored doing that? She seems like a jailer.
To make matters worse, Negret arrives. The lawyer just called me. He says everything is under control. He's going to take care of all the details. He confirmed that Fatih will receive the papers very soon. Asli says yes, finally that man will disappear from our lives! Nedret shows some compassion and goes to Nilu. She knows this is causing her a lot of anguish, but she only needs to think that she did the right thing. Asli actually looks compassionate too suddenly.
Everyone arrives at the police station (which is confusing since I thought they were at the station before they left? But maybe it’s a different station) Arda makes a joke about Omer making his entrance like Braveheart. Pelo says this is not the time for jokes. Control yourself a little. Arda retorts, what do you want me to do, Pelin? I’ve always been like this. I'm just like my father. Pelo relents.
Omer approaches a guy named Setin, (I don’t think it’s the same dude from the crime scene but I’m not sure) He asks, did you sign this? Setin retorts, have you been made prosecutor or what? Omer says he’s just a citizen asking questions. Were you the one who added this? This is completely false. Elif doesn't have a lighter. You'd better explain what happened here. Setin says he doesn't owe him any explanations. If Omer will excuse him, he’s busy. Omer doesn’t let up. Where are you going? Your boss-where is he? Does he know that the report was modified? Setin walks away and Arda and Pelo approach, what happened? He didn't say anything? Omer says no, at least not for now. Come on, we have to go.
Nedret’s turn to meet Tayyar in the middle of some abandoned buildings. He greets her with flowery words but she isn’t interested. She wants to know when he’s going to keep his promise to get Elif out of prison. Tayyar says wait a moment, let's make something clear-I never said I would get her out immediately. Nedret says he’s taking too long. Tayyar says admit it, she has to learn. Elif is receiving a lesson that you could never have taught her. You should have been a better aunt and kept her away from us, but we already know that didn't happen, and I took care of it. Trust me, sometimes severe punishment is worth more than any advice. And as for Filiz, I recommend you do something similar. Never! Nedret huffs, I don't want you to speak to me about Filiz again. Besides, if they were to evaluate Tayyar’s performance as an educator, his result wouldn't be the best. Just look at his children. What could be worse, Tayyar agrees. They gave me one son who is ungrateful and another who is deranged. It's impossible to deny. But that's how they are. (I laughed at this, I can’t help it) Nedret has had enough, it used to be much more pleasant talking to Tayyar. Whatever. Here-this is the divorce document. Fatih must sign it so they can finish this once and for all. Tayyar says she’s being somewhat cruel to them. Anyone would say their happiness matters very little to her. He warns -someone could take revenge.
Setin is being followed by our fearless investigators. Omer explains he simply told Setin they had proof that he had manipulated documents in this case and in other cases too, and that if he didn't talk, the prosecutor would find out everything. Arda says he threatened a colleague and also deceived him. That's right, Omer agrees, that's what I did, and it turns out he believed it. Setin arrives at some sort of car wash and turns aggressively now what do they want? What do you want me to say? Omer says it's so obvious. Who asked him to manipulate the report? Omer can read it in his eyes. It's obvious he had something to do with that manipulation. So, talk! He wants names. Setin tries to say Omer is being impulsive, paranoid.
Setin asked to speak somewhere else so Omer wouldn't make a scene. Omer isn’t impressed, they all know Elif didn't commit that murder, and something else-you manipulated the evidence. An innocent person is in jail because of Setin. He’s listening, start talking. Setin says he’s not like them. He’s a rookie. If he talks, they'll fire him. Omer says he can also get rid of him. Setin-don't you think that for a rookie, you forgot professional ethics too quickly? Setin repeats that he can't talk. Omer says what do you mean you can't talk? What are you referring to? Look at me. Look me straight in the eyes. Standing in front of you isn't just a police officer, but a man who is fighting to uncover the whole truth. That night my brother was murdered, and the woman I love is in jail, framed for it. I have nothing to lose, rookie. Remember that well.
Elif is reading poems, but hearing it in Omer’s voice: ‘My love, in the midst of these traces and this deafening massacre, I lost my freedom, I lost myself, and I lost you. But I will never stop believing in the day when I will emerge from the darkness, from the screams, from hunger, from terror. The future will knock on our door with the sun in its hands.’ Next, she remembers the doctor’s BS: ‘Sometimes we do not see ourselves as we really are, but as we would like to be. We tend to wear different masks, not only to convince others, but also ourselves. That is the worst part of all.’ She starts to write a letter to Omer and we hear that the manipulation is starting to work. She’s wondering if maybe she did kill Huso.
Hande interrupts this sad letter telling Elif to get up. Time to work. Or does she think they're your servants? Elif says tell me what I have to do and I'll do it. Hande leads her to a filthy looking shower floor and cruelly says she wants to see my reflection on the floor. I’m wondering why anyone cares what she wants and who made her the warden but Elif looks like she’s accepting it. Hande says if she doesn’t get it clean enough, she’ll make her clean it with your tongue.
Arda plays good cop and Setin starts talking finally. He doesn't agree with what he’s seen. That's why he’s here with them. Actually, he only has suspicions, no evidence. They were only following the boss's orders. What orders is he talking about? Setin says when you took Elif away after finding her at the crime scene, our boss was there. He was the one who found the lighter and told them where he found it. He said he found it next to the tree. We all believed him. Omer says now tell me something else-did you see any other evidence? We saw tire tracks, Setin admits. They were very clear. They were recent. What kind of tracks were they, from a car or something bigger? They were like the tracks of a pickup truck. We were going to photograph them, but the boss said we ourselves had left those tracks and that we were idiots. He didn't allow us to take the photos and erased the tracks. He said it was so we wouldn't get confused. Of course, Omer realizes -she was brought in that pickup truck. Setin says maybe but the truth is, it seemed that those tracks were going in the opposite direction. It's very clear to Omer. They have to prove that the head of the department manipulated the evidence. It would be perfect if I could get him to talk. Where is he? Tell me. Setin doesn't know. This morning at the station they told us he had gone on vacation. Arda laughs, they always use the same tactic-when they finish the dirty work, they leave. Police officers, doctors, prosecutors. Omer says to Pelin, she knows what he’s going to say-do everything possible to find him. Pelo’s already on it. And Setin-is there anything else he wants to tell them?
Bad doc is reporting in to Tayyar, and this guy is much worse than any of Tayyar’s other henchies! We’ve seen plenty of people doing Tayyar’s bidding because he has them between a rock and a hard place or he’s threatening their family but this dude is clearly getting off on tormenting Elif and it’s sickening!! He tells Tayyar Elif is getting weaker and weaker. Perfect, Tayyar responds, I would like you to advise me on the next steps to follow-for example, what should I ask the woman I hired at the prison to do? Doc says you should tell her to keep doing the same thing to her. It has helped us a lot to weaken her. Soon we will get what we want. We are manipulating Elif's mind and will drive her to collapse. And of course, the drugs she takes can accelerate that process. What do you mean by that, Tayyar asks. Is she taking antidepressants? Mr. Tayyar, the weasel says, you offend me. I am an intelligent man. If I had prescribed antidepressants, she would feel better, and what we want is for Elif to be submerged in a deep depression. We want her to begin hallucinating and be unable to bear it until she reaches the point of not wanting to go on living. Tayyar likes that. That's perfect. It would be a great help if Elif's life in prison became even more miserable. Remember, we don't have much time. She has a troublesome boyfriend and, as if that weren't enough, a neurotic aunt, and they could ruin our plan. You know better than anyone that the perfect crime doesn't exist. One miserable piece of evidence can help them solve the riddle. That's why I need you to be quick.
The search for Setin’s boss continues.
Pelo: He could have taken the train. Did you verify it? And I imagine you've already checked whether he rented a car. We need to find him now. All right. Goodbye.
Omer: That night they must have been watching me. She wouldn't do something like that. Let's say they hit her on the head to force her-we would have seen some indication when we found her. In conclusion, I'm sure she was drugged.
Arda: Omer, they didn't find drugs or anything like that in her blood. Did you check whether there was any kind of needle mark on her skin?
Omer: I didn't pay attention, but I didn't see anything. I guess I didn't look closely enough. I don't know why I didn't take her to the doctor right away. That could have helped.
Arda: There's no point starting to blame yourself. You did the right thing. You didn't know it would be so hard for her to remember.
Omer: It's impossible for me not to involve my feelings in this, Arda, but I have to do it. All right, let's continue. Elif was unconscious and was brought to this place in the pickup truck that was mentioned, and they killed my brother earlier. There must have been the tracks that the head of forensics erased. They took Elif, who was still unconscious, and left her by that tree. Then they took the murder weapon and put it in her hand.
Arda: Don't forget the fire. It's the strangest part of all. Why start it if they had already framed Elif? It's too ridiculous. Something must have gone wrong. Why complicate things?
Pelin: Surely, they didn't want to leave evidence.
Omer: They had already bought off the head of forensics-why would they need to do it, Arda? I think you're right. It makes no sense.
Arda: We know that Fatih went into Elif's house and stole the gun,
Omer: and that the night before, Tardar Dündar told Elif it was her last chance. That means they had already set the plan in motion,
Pelin: and it turns out that after all, Fatih saved something else that we can't understand. That man really is a mystery.
Tayyar is in his warehouse, shop, whatever it is when Fatih arrives.
Fatih: Hello, Daddy, how are you? Were you looking for me? I suppose you missed me. Now I'm ready for you to hug me.
Tayyar: Where have you been? Where? Tell me why you didn't show up when I asked you to. Are you hiding from me?
Fatih: The things you come up with. I had things to do.
Tayyar: Omer isn't dead. Is there anything more important than that? You were running away from me because you're responsible. You wanted him to escape. You didn't kill him. Omer is still alive, and you're the one truly responsible for that disaster.
Fatih: What are you saying? Do you think I would leave Omer alive on purpose? Do you think I'm that stupid?
Tayyar: Yes, you are an idiot. What plans have you been making behind my back?
Fatih: Are you crazy? You asked me to shoot him, and I did. I didn't shoot him in the head, and I threw him into the pit-you saw it with your own eyes. And if you don't trust me, then why didn't you shoot him yourself? I don't understand. I still don't know how he's alive.
Tayyar: That's what I'm wondering. For now, I don't know, but I'm going to find out. I'll figure out how that wretch managed to escape her grave, and I won't rest until I find the culprit.
Fatih: I don't care. It's not my problem. Do whatever you want. I bet Omer went to visit you. Why didn't you ask him then?
Tayyar: No, I thought he would go visit me, but he didn't. That seems curious to me. He's behaving as if nothing had happened. When have you ever seen him act like that?
Fatih: Well, if he's acting like that, either I scared him,
Tayyar: hopefully, or it's the calm before the chaos.
Fatih: And what does that matter? Nothing could ruin my happiness now. We are legally father and son.
Tayyar: How could I forget that?
Fatih: Fine then, maybe you could stop scolding me and instead give me a nice gift.
Tayyar: Sorry, I forgot to buy you a gift, but in any case, I brought you something, dear son. It's amazing-how your life is always changing. I'd say it resembles an action movie. Today you gained a father and lost a wife. I just received it. As you can see, Nilufer no longer wants to be your wife. She asked you for a divorce.
Arda and Pelin have a plan! Catch Fatih and lock him up somewhere, and don't leave him alone until he talks. He'll have to say something if he wants us to let him go. Omer doesn’t think it will work It's impossible to pressure that man. We've tried everything to make him tell us what he knows. And don't forget that we thought he would help us, and he betrayed us. Nilufer is his weak point, Pelo says. She could be useful, but he is Nilufer's weak point, Omer points out. We already tried with her, but now it's about her sister, Arda says but Omer still thinks it’s a waste of time.
Omer: We have to find the head of forensics. Once we do, we'll have to find a way to make him tell us what we want.
Pelo: It's going to be hard to find him. He's a police officer and knows how to hide. He disappeared off the map. No one knows where he is, and he turned off his phone. He hasn't used his credit card either, and he didn't buy train, plane, or bus tickets. He didn't leave a single trace.
Omer: We know his address.
Arda: You know we can't enter his house without a warrant.
Pelo: And if we ask the chief for one.
Omer: Do you think we can trust him?
Arda: I haven't dealt with him much. I don't know if he's trustworthy.
Omer: I don't know him, but I do know something about him. Because of that man, we had to leave that night. Elif was left alone at home, and we already know what happened afterward. When we arrived, he was talking nonsense, and at the same time he was receiving that message. And what does that tell us? That he may be working for Tayyar.
Arda: And that means we can't ask him for that warrant.
Omer: I'll go in anyway.
Pelo: Omer, Omer, where are you going? Omer, what are you going to do? Omer, Arda, say something to him. But what are you doing?
Arda: Come on, Pelin.
They all leave the crime scene and head out.
Fatih finds Nilu out walking and forces her into his car. She tries to fight him off but she’s stuck. They're going to talk about this nonsense divorce. That's all.
That floor is looking sparkly!!! But of course, Hande couldn’t admit that, she arrives to bug Elif.
Hande: You still haven't finished cleaning? No, no. You don't know. Sorry, Cinderella, I didn't mean to. Look at you now. Your clothes smell bad. You'll have to take a shower. Your pretty face won't help you.
Elif: Don't bother me anymore, all right? I'm warning you.
Hande: Ooh, how scary. What are you going to do-burn me like you burned your brother-in-law? Bitch. She spits on the floor - Clean that up. I'm going to be watching you, idiot.
Hande walks out and a fed up Elif is about to lose it. She takes the pills out of her pocket and as we scream NOOOOO at the screen, Elif takes a pill.
Thanks Darcy. I'm pretty sure I commented earlier that Omer should have taken Elif to a hospital when they found her catatonic. I also figure the drug used on her probably had a short half life and left no trace so it's likely a moot point, but he definitely used poor judgement. I agree, boo!! Don't take the pills. I've noticed the jail does seem to be a dormitory type. When Hussein was locked up with the ex chief I thought it odd, but that's how it seems to be in Istanbul. The fight should have been a consensus, not just one person backing up Hande's claim.
