TAN CERCA DE TI NACE EL AMOR # 4 Page 1

Notes from the Couch

Please feel free to add antyhing i left out.

Aurelio is Father Nico's brother! No more guessing. He finally said it.

Vero quickly tells Joaquín that she was supposed to clean the bedrooms and since she found Vale asleep she was doing things as quietly as she could because she didn't want to get into trouble with Carmen. Joaquín buys her explanation and tells her to be careful because Vale hates to be woken up and she has a bad temper. Vale emerges hearing the talking and wonders what the woman who almost ran her over is doing in her house. Vero explains what happened and Vale wants to know why nobody told her that this woman was working at her house. As for getting hit by the car, Vale admits to Joaquín it was her fault for being distracted while she was riding her bike. Also, she will talk to him when SHE feels like it since he never showed up to talk to the social worker.

Iván apologizes to Romina for causing any problems with her husband. They shake on it and he holds her hand a tad bit long. He wants to talk to the Iceberg aka Kassandra but she is busy with Facundo which peaks his interest.

Bruno got into a fight because a kid told him he didn't have a father and that neither he or Nayeli know where they come from. Consuelo never tells him who his father is but tells him he has a mother who will do everything for her children until the day she dies.

As Vero struggles with the vacuum cleaner, Joaquín talks to Facundo who has called him about the head mechanic job. He tells him to come to Luis' so they can talk.

After Joaquín told Luis he was breaking up with Fernanda, he remembers Luis telling him there is nothing like having a family of your own. Finding the right woman can change everything. He can only wish that Joaquín has the happiness with a family that he has. Joaquín tells him he will be waiting a hundred years then.

Kassandra is no fan of Iván. He just loves her icey Nordic niceness! He wants her to tell his brother he wants a job. She has just the job for him! She calls Joaquín who is worried that Iván is only there for a handout. She assures him she has the perfect place for Iván. She leads him to a room with thousands of records that need to be organized. He asks for a computer to be able to digitize the records. He is not pleased.

Vero brings Meli a small white erase board so she can write down what she isn't saying. The girl writes "gracias" with a heart.

Joaquín meets with the four children. Carmen catches Vero listening at the door. She dislikes people who gossip and worse lie!! Carmen sends her off to shop instead. Vero doesn't know why she doesn't order things from the internet like at her past job. Sorry, here they support the local businesses. Carmen reminds her to use the service door from now on and not the front door.

TAN CERCA Page 2

Three of the four children are happy that Joaquín is going to be their provisional legal guardian. Daniela likes that idea until her parents reappear. Joaquín still isn't sure where he will live yet but the children will have plenty of support with Carmen and Consuelo. That clearly rankles Diego. As soon as "Consuelo's" name is mentioned Melli writes she is very pretty on her board. Joaquín agrees and asks where she got the board. She writes "Consuelo." He assures them he will sign whatever they need signed and attend anything they need him to attend. Diego doesn't believe him at all. Vale says she and Diego can also help out because Joaquín does has a lot to do at work. Diego is still against Joaquín and it all comes down to him thinking that Joaquín wants to steal their inheritance that is their 50% ownership of the company. Joaquín explains that the law protects his and his sisters. There is a judge who is in control of what belongs to them. Joaquín will have to consult with that judge. Diego thinks he needs to get a lawyer then. Diego asks if his father and he were like brothers then why is it his name "Navarro" that is on everything? Joaquín answers that it was his dad's idea because he was better known at the time. They never competed against each other or were jealous of the other. He admits that he hates that it wasn't him on that plane but he cannot change what happened. Diego makes it clear that he cannot stand Joaquín. He hates him.
Vero is picking up oranges that have fallen and scattered all over the sidewalk and Facundo appears and offers to help her bring her purchases home . . . but she says she can do it on her own. He puts the moves on her saying their meeting is destiny! She thanks him and drives away in her car. She makes the mistake of coming in the front door and as Carmen scolds her, Facundo is smiling and preening reminding her he said it was destiny that brought them together.

Vero's editor calls her. He needs her article in one hour. She experiments with some ironing and then locks herself in the laundry room to work on the article.

Hugo tells Nayeli he is having problems with his eyes. It could be hereditary. He is going to talk to his aunt Carmen who will know more about his father. He only saw his father two or three times in his life. He asks if his fahter had problems with his eyes. Carmen tells him he didn't ever see very well and some say he went blind. She doesn't know if that is the truth or if he just said that to leave his mother. Her sister was a saint and she could make a list of everything that she put up with from him. She asks what is bothering him. Vale interrupts.

Joaquín is so happy he and Facundo are going to have the chance to work together after all these years! He gives him the head mechanic job.

Vale picks up a jacket Vero has just ironed and tells her that the board was such a wonderful gift for Meli. They share a smile.

Claudia blames her mother for driving their father Facundo out of their home. Lorena doesn't agree!

Father Nicolás asks Consuelo to take Aurelio to the doctor for him. He cannot do it. She really doesn't want to but she finally gives in but isn't happy about it knowing what kind of turmoil he is in.

Meli shows Joaquín her drawings using her board to communicate with him. One of her drawings is of a plane carshing. He says he will always be there for her and they hug.

At Lorena's snack bar, Vero asks Hugo about his accident. He refuses to tell her what is going on with him. He goes to get a lemonade when Eleazar arrives, takes his seat and starts flirting with Vale. Hugo returns and the boys exchange barbs. Eleazar asks her out to ride anytime with him. She smiles and Hugo sits down deflated.

TAN CERCA Page 3

Kassandra tells Joaquín that Carmen is not happy with "Consuelo". Joaquín says she isn't happy with anyone. He needs "Consiuelo" there. She reminds him he needs to go to Miami. He already talked to them and smoothed things over. The trip will have to be put off for a few days. He is going to be the children's guardian. She tries to talk him out of it. but can't. The children need him. She assures him that he always has her to support him. She gives him the number of the girl who the medal belongs to. "Verónica Arellano" is her name. She suspects he is interested in her. He says he doesn't know her.

The editor isn't happy with the article and tells Vero to work on it. Vero's phone rings and a coworker answers. She tells Vero that the man who has her medal called. She took down the time and place Veo is to meet him but never got his name.

Iván comes home to find out that his landlord wants the rent he hasn't paid his for six months. If he doesn't have it tomorrow morning, he will be evicted.

Romina is crying and tells Marco her period was late and she thought she was pregnant but she wasn't . . . again.

Vero enters the restaurant to pick up her medal and sees Joaquín holding it and looking at it at a table

Jarifa, I thoroughly enjoyed your excellent recap and your superb dialogue translation replete with wonderful detail.

Joaquin was quite sweet trying to talk with Daniela and Melli; we are now seeing a softer and more gentle side of him.

I had an especially hard time trying to understand what was being said during the Joaquin and Diego "discussion" so thank you for your invaluable input. "Diego is still against Joaquín and it all comes down to him thinking that Joaquín wants to steal their inheritance that is their 50% ownership of the company". Really? While it is understandable that Diego is beyond upset and suffering, he is lashing out at Joaquin despite knowing how close he and Luis were, blaming him. I am sure time and rational thinking will help him regain his perspective although Diego is surly and disrespectful now (at best).

"Facundo is smiling and preening reminding her he said it was destiny that brought them together" was an unexpected but interesting twist! That said, Alejandro Ávila is so handsome, I had to remind myself he is a cold-blooded killer here!

"Iván apologizes to Romina for causing any problems with her husband. They shake on it and he holds her hand a tad bit long" proves he has no intention of "going away." I fear her having a difficult time conceiving is going to make her even more vulnerable. The fact he hasn't paid his rent in half a year is another major red flag.

I would suspect that when applying for a housekeeping position, a rudimentary knowledge of how a vacuum works might be helpful. :) I did laugh at Consuelo's trying to figure things out. That sweet little barely perceptible smile David Zepeda does so well seem to show he is truly charmed by her.

As Vero now sees who is holding her medal, will she stay or fly? Look forward to seeing what happens.

Thanks again Jarifa.

Wow!! Jarifa, thank you so much for a wonderful recap of a great episode that moved the story forward quickly !!! So many things happened that filled me with many questions .
David Z. Looks better than I have ever seen him . The scenes with the little girl were poignant and heartwarming as she hugged him ,and he looked at each and every picture she drew . One of them was of him which he seemed flattered by !

Oka is doing a fine job as gentle, sweet, humble, slightly comical " Consuelo." Giving the little girl the white board was brilliant and kindhearted .
It looks like Vale is softening , and Diego is the on!y one still angry and resentful toward Joachin.

Hmmm. ..Ivan has turned into a very interesting part of this story . His dislike of Cassandra makes me hopeful that he may turn out to be a support to his brother .What might he uncover in the room full of documents that nobody has studied for so long ??
So many fatherless sons \ ...Hugo, Bruno . Sad . Men who left their wives and children .
Whats wring with Aurelio susan

Guardian

What ??? The bodyguards decide to take Sofia along to a dangerous situation to rescue Barbie ???
Is Bolero a bad guy? He was arguing with Grecia who set-up the kidnapping of Barbie ..I don't know what they are saying , so I have two try to interpret the visual . Susan

Guardian

Poor Kim (:Grecia) the wardrobe department has her in some super weird outfits...black leather Capri pants teamed with a sweater with fur ( raccoon ??) On the shoulders . QTH???

The writers don't miss ant chance for Daniel A ( Franko) to carry Sofia

around . Susan

GUARDIAN

Finally caught up, thanks to futbol. Srsly, this show gets sillier and sillier. Between the leather gauchos and the sprained-ankle rescue sidekick and the tickling punishment, you just don't know where it's going next.

Thug Rashid certainly has beautiful hair. Nicer than any of the protas, actually.

Susan, Bolero is currently a bad guy in league with Grecia, but he seems to be charmed by Marisol...I think we can see where that is going.

So, questions: Does anyone know that Rex was lying about sleeping with Chava? Does Franco even know she *claimed* to have slept with Chava? He seems old-fashioned enough that he would have something to say about that.

GUARDIAN

P.S. Barbi calls Grecia "Grechi" and I heard Franco refer to Sofia as "Dona Chofis." I love these nicknames. I want one!

Tan Cerca

Gracias, Jarifa. Your recap is a total delight.

Kassandra is a pain, but kudos to her for finding the right job for lazy, fork-tongued Ivan. Susan, interesting thought that Ivan might uncover something useful.

Diana, I laughed at Consuelo's antics with the vacuum. Honestly in the old days I'd simply press "on" and go but nowadays I have to read the manual first.

Thanks for the great recaps, Jarifa. Swim meets have started here and they last forever, so no TV those nights. I was able to catch up last night.

I have my cheat sheet for the names and relationships but need to put names with faces. This telenovela threw everyone out there at once!

Daniela sure gave us something to think about with her denial of her parents death. That would be great, but pretty unlikely. You have to admire Joaquin for making the correct decision to take on his friend’s children. But it also showed us Kassandra’s true colors. I’m not sure how she can interfere with his plans, but I bet she’ll try.

“Consuelo” is so good with the kids, although I found her a little creepy when she laid her head so close to Vale, and then gets caught by Joaquin. She needs more housekeeping lessons! I was surprised she’s also still working for the newspaper. I thought she’d take a leave of absence. Will she approach Joaquin in the restaurant. With all the talk of Clark Kent she might just be able to do it! Can’t wait to find out.

Guardian
Blue Lass, you get to pick your own nickname . I grew up surrounded by a lot of interesting nicknames ... Truck, Popeye, Chico, Hook, Hooter , Cookie, Monk, Flex I was only Susy .

Who is Marisol ?. Abuelo with his brass knuckles was a scary hombre . yikes
Susan

Tan cerca,

Liz, yes , I wonder if Joaquin won't recognize Vero without her Clark Kent magic glasses. If so, we are in for some magical realism , and we will have to do our best to suspend our disbelief .
Facundo is going to become obsessed with Vero. It's could see him joining forces with Kassandra.

Could Luis and wife still be alive ? That would be an interesting twist. I like Mane (Luis) , and I was sorry he was supposedly gone so quickly.

It would be nice if Ivan turned out to be a good character Who helps his brother . Joachin needs some people on his side . So far , he has a lot of people against him. Susan

TAN CERCA

The usual rant: Just thinking if Vale is 17 then that makes Vero only 32. Ariana Saavedra is 29 and Oka Giner playing Vero is 33. No wonder they look more like contemporaries and not mother and daughter. . If only they paid attention to the ages of their actors and the ages of their characters better.

Anyway, I enjoyed Vero's household misadventures and loved the last scene with Joaquín peacefully gazing at the medal.

Diana, "That sweet little barely perceptible smile David Zepeda does so well seem to show he is truly charmed by her." You can say that again.

Susan, great question about Iván. "What might he uncover in the room full of documents that nobody has studied for so long?"

Niecie,"Kassandra is a pain, but kudos to her for finding the right job for lazy, fork-tongued Ivan." I was shocked she was able to set him up so easily in an "appropriate" job. I wonder how long he will last.

Liz, "Daniela sure gave us something to think about with her denial of her parents death." I think they are gone for good, too, but you never know in a novela . . .

Tan cerca,

My favorite scene was Joachin's interaction with little Melina. David Z did a great job in that scene. You could see Joachim changing right in front of our eyes as he looked at the pictures she had drawn , and then she hugged him. He seemed so surprised and de!ighted . He also was impressed that Vero gave Melina a way to communicate .Meanwhile, Cassandra ignores the kids and tries her best to pull Joachin away from them.

After so much darkness and violence in " MI verdad ,"I needed a goodhearted character like Vero to offer hope and light.

Hmmm I wonder If we will meet any of the runaway fathers. Absent fathers has become a frequent theme in novels these days Susan

Guardian

Susan and Blue Lass

I agree, such a silly show. I was going to comment about the gimpy sidekick too. One minute Franco is in a cast from an injury, next he's carrying Sofia all over, then she is limping at the rescue mission. He should have left her napping on the couch rather than disturbing her.

The other thing I'm surprised at is the bodyguards wearing dress suits on the job. Good luck chasing a guy down in those clothes. I also couldn't understand why the bookie kidnapped Emma also. She looks a lot older than Chavo's dad, whose name I've forgotten.

Guardian
Kat, I agree on all counts. It would have been better if the writers had just followed the good storyline of the original , but they seem to have wanted to be outrageous . I wonder if they are young and very new to writing .

I feel sorry for the actresses and actors who have all been in many successful novelas. They must notice how bizarre these lines and actions are. Well, if we continue ...put on your beanies. Susan

TAN CERCA DE TI, NACE EL AMOR #5

Notes from the Couch Part 1

Please feel free to add anything I left out.

Well, after five episodes, I can say that I like this novela well enough to continue recapping it.

Vero turns quickly and gets out of the restaurant ASAP. Joaquín sees a woman leaving quickly and goes to follow her wondering if it is Verónica but alas! she is gone! He calls her number but Vero doesn't answer as she drives away. She sends him a text from an "unknown number" apologizing for not showing up. He hopes she is okay. She says she is and will be in touch about the medal some other time.

It turns out that Kassandra lives with her mother Isaura who has that gold digger look. Kassandra complains that the little orphans are taking up all of Joaquín's time. Her mother criticizes her lack of progress in becoming Joaquín's wife and reminds her she is getting older by the day. Joaquín may appreciate her as an assistant but not as a woman. She evidently doesn't know what she is doing because if she did, Joaquín would be hers already.

The next day, Vero wakes up already tired. Consuelo reminds her that she told her that housework was hard work. Vero thanks her aunt for being there when she left home and all that she did supporting her and believing in her when nobody else did. Consuelo says there is no need for thanks. She is her blood. She always knew Vero was going to turn into a very strong woman. Vero says she was her example. Consuelo says she only did what a mother would do for her child. Vero considers her her mother. Then Vero tells her aunt that she couldn't get the medal back because her boss don Joaquín has it! She cannot believe it. Her aunt thinks he was the one who found the medal for a reason. Vero insists she will get it back no matter what. She tells her aunt that yesterday she felt like she and her daughter had a moment where they connected but she will wait to tell her daughter that she never abandoned her.

Joaquín introduces Facundo as the new head mechanic and tells Facundo that Marco will be his right hand man. Marco has to agree but he exchanges looks with Hugo that could kill. Eleazar hurries over to congratulate his father. Eleazar introduces Hugo to his father. Hugo extends his hand to shake it and Facundo ignores him. He has Marco start a motorcycle so he can listen to the motor. Later Marco complains to his wife about not getting the promotion.

"Consuelo" is questioned by the children (minus Diego who leaves) as she serves breakfast. No, she doesn't have a novio but she does have a chicken, a neighbor who lends her books, a parrot who greats her every morning Where does she live? Far away. She has to take 2 buses, the subway and walk ten blocks but it is worth it all. Daniela wants to know if she believes in life on other planets. Vale tells her to drop the UFO talk. Carmen comes in with some charred tortillas that "Consuelo" forgot on the griddle. If she didn't have a good sense of smell they would have turned into coal. The kids laugh.

Joaquín is still trying to get his life under control and not lose the Miami deal but the other party refuses to come to Mexico. They agree to give him few days and then notify them when he can come.

TAN CERCA Page 2

Iván tell Joaquín he is grateful for the chance he is giving him to work at this company. He is dedicating himself only to this company and in that process he finds himself short of cash. Can Joaquín give him an advance???Joaquín saw it coming but they do not give out advances at this company. Everyone gets their pay check at the end of the month.

Diego has arrived to talk to Joaquín but is waylaid by Kassandra because Joaquín is talking to the social worker. Kassandra plants a poison pill raising doubts about Joaquín being their guardian. Will he be able to keep up with them with so much to do at the company? Diego agrees and that is why he is there to protect the financial interests of him and his sisters. He thanks her for the heads up.

The social worker gives Joaquín the document he needs to sign to become the Miranda children's guardian. She assures him that if Luis' sister shows up, there will be no problem transferring the guardianship to her. Joaquín signs. She suggests that he spend more time with the children. Diego bursts in demanding to know the state of affairs. Joaquín says he is now their guardian. Diego sarcastically applauds him and expresses his concerns about his and his sister's inheritance to the social worker. She assures him that it will be monitored and controlled by auditors who will make sure everything is as it should be.

Kassandra plants a 50,000 peso check made out to Joaquín with some papers to see how honest Iván is. She wonders how Joaquín is going to be the exemplar father when his brother starts causing him problems.

Diego's dad had plans for him to come work at the company after school. Joaquín knows all about that and thinks it is an excellent idea. Diego believes that Joaquín will up and leave them if he finds a better business deal somewhere else. Joaquín cannot convince him otherwise. Joaquín tells Kassandra about his problems with Diego and playing both sides, she "consoles" him and says Diego doesn't hate him.

Iván is concerned about his impending eviction. Romina delivers some folders along with the check that he finds almost immediately.

As Vero irons one of Vale's dresses, she hears Carmen telling Joaquín that she doesn't know how to do anything and needs to be fired. She leaves to defend herself and leaves the iron on the dress. Joaquín insists on taking charge of the situation. Carmen smells something burning and leaves. Vero pleads her case saying that she will improve, the children like her and her daughter needs her here. He asks her what she is talking about. Thinking quickly on her feet, she admits she has a daughter and she needs to be working there because she and her daughter are all alone and she has no other way to support her. She begs for one more chance. Carmen wants to fire Vero after the dress incident but Joaquín saves her for now. He adds that since they have a house full of children, it is more important to him that "Consuelo" is a mother herself than if she can iron. He wants somebody who sees people with compassion and knows how to listen. He cites how she helped Meli with the erase board when nobody asked her to. That was enormous for him. Vero thanks him. Carmen says he has been warned. Vero thanks him.

In the mean time, Carmen gives Vale the burnt dress. It was given to her by her mother and she is emotional when she sees its destruction. Vale throws the dress out. She then looks for some chocolates. She tells Claudia that her mother always made sure she had chocolates so she always could have one when something bad happened. She finds the box but it is empty.

A young woman is walking down the street with luggage and she bumps into Diego. She needs help with an address. He tells her how to get there.

Facundo tells Lorena about his new position. She wonders what he is up to now that he and their son will be working together. He also says he won't be alone long because he has met the girl of his dreams. He gets a call from a Mr. Norivos. He tells him everything is in order.

TAN CERCA Page 3

Iván arrives home as a full scale eviction is going on. His items are on the curb and the landlord has changed the locks. Iván gives him the check. The land lord says it is made out to Joaquín. Iván has endorsed it so he can cash it without a problem. The landlord takes it but informs him it doesn't even cover two months of the six months he owes. He is keeping the check, his tv, sound system and anything else that is worth anything. So, they are even! The girl approaches him. It is María José h is daughter. He hasn't seen her in five years and hardly recognizes her. He asks about her mother and she concludes that he is getting evicted!

Hugo tells Nayeli that he is stuck on a girl and she doesn't even see him. She is the daughter of one of the owners of Navarro Cross. He knows she is from another world but he cannot help it.

Eleazar comes to visit Vale at her house. He has brought her her favorite chocolates. She hugs him.

What was with Uriel holding up the spoon like a mirror? They showed it again in the opening credits tonight.

GUARDIAN

I didn’t get that spoon thing either. Anyone?

Susan, Marisol is Chava’s sister, mother to little Mia. Uriel met her at dance class.

Only things I have to add, the middle daughter appeared star struck by Eleazar, and if Ivan has been AWOL for 6 months why did it take the landlord this long to evict him?

Nayeli is mooning after Hugo so two love triangles to juggle amongst the teens.

TAN CERCA

Jarifa, thank you for another wise and wonderful summary. You clarify and enlighten so much. I'm happy and grateful that you are going to continue to recap! Viewerville's lucky day.

Loved "Kassandra plants a poison pill." She did have Iván's number though, didn't she? What a slithering little snake, all wide eyed and innocent. Appearances can be deceiving.

A few more layers of our players' personas are being peeled back. Facundo's saying "...he won't be alone long because he has met the girl of his dreams" proves he is delusional. His utter dismissal of Hugo shows how callous he is. I'm curious if Facundo is as talented as he thinks he is. Eleazar's cockiness and imperiousness toward Hugo is so off-putting. Vale (and Daniela if I have the right name) seems to be warming to him, unfortunately.

Instant chemistry was apparent between María José and sour Diego...

Hugo needs to open his eyes and take a good look at the lovely Nayeli as I fear Vale will always keep him the friend zone.

I felt for "Consuelo" who is so in over her head she doesn't seem to stand a chance! Joaquin can only protect her so many times.

The real Consuelo (wearing the same barrette in different colors) is always a bright spot.

Joaquin keeps trying to quell doubts and put out fires. I don't see the conflict lessening any time soon!

More questions. Uriel took some prescription pills in Wednesday's episode. Another question? Tonight Aramis and Victorio (Vic) are discussing things as they hit golf balls on a driving range I guess, in the dark. Aramis seems to be involved in bad things (besides likely stealing his granddaughter away from Catalina, who I'm guessing is Rex). Any insights about what nefarious things they are up to. I'm coming in with no prior renditions of this so it's totally confusing me.

What's with the door that has no handle on it as Franco leaves Sofia (after lamenting his big mouth, like a Hippo, is that a common phrase?).

Guardian
Finally had a chance to watch last nights episode . I loved the original AV, but the characters have different names now. Bolero was a guy we called Dances with Sunglasses, and he and Susana Gonzales (Beatriz...now Marisol) were great dance partners .
What was,Arimas asking Bolero as he brass knuckled that guy ? Was the guy the one who kidnapped Barbie ( set up by Grecia?) No idea what the spoon meant ,but Bolero looked scared . I am starting to like Bolero.

Who is the new piano teacher , and why was Franco upset to see her ?

I know who the new guy is , but I don't know if it has been revealed as to his identity. He is tight with Aramis. Do you recognize the actor? He has been in novels for years. He had coal black hair, and he plays villains. Susan

Tan cerca,
Jarifa, what a great read ! Thank you so much for bringing us all the details .

Gee, I guess I was wrong about Ivan turning into a good guy who will somehow find something among those papers to help his brother . Ivan is a hot mess , and now his grown daughter has shown up . I suppose he will run to Joachim for a place they can live .

I am sure that Vale will End up with Hugo, but for now Eleazer has captured her attention with his slick charm and her fav chocolates . That apple has not fallen far from the tree.

These stories are all about good versus evil , but recent novels seem to give us many more evil characters than good. Judyb always referred to them as morality plays .We had one strong family with Luis, Susana, and their children , but thanks to Facundo, that family has shattered . Now , we have Joachin and Vero\consuelo trying to care for those children . Tia Consuelo and the priest are good characters .
I guess Facundo was talking to the mysterious Mr. Big . Is he the person in Miami that Joachim is supposed to meet with ? Are there any good people in the company to support Joachin??? Susan

Tan Cerca

Thanks Jarifa, your recap was excellent. You clear up so many things for me.

I did feel sorry for Vero when she burned the dress. But how could she leave the iron face down. But, although I knew the tortillas was ruined, I didn’t realize she had left them on the griddle. She is quite the fire hazard and needs to pay more attention to what she’s doing. Luckily Carmen has a good sense of smell.

I guess Kassandra found out Ivan is a thief, or at least willing to steal from his brother, or the company. I’m hoping his daughter might help him become more responsible, although it seems fatherhood hasn’t matured him so far.

It does seem Joaquin has more people trying to bring him down than help him. Diego needs to realize his share in the company is on Joaquin’s shoulders. They need to be on the same side, or team. But Diego isn’t as smart as he thinks he is.

Eleazar seems too much like his dad and I don’t see Vale ending up with him.

Guardián

I have no idea what the spoon meant either, I actually thought Aramis knew he was in on the kidnapping, he did look scared.

I agree Rex is the missing granddaughter. Did her mom do something unforgivable, like cheat on Franco. Daniel A. always plays a good guy so I’m surprised he’s asking for a divorce, and has been since the beginning.

The white haired man that is the boy’s dad has always played evil characters!

Tan Cerca

Yay! Jarifa, I'm glad you like Tan Cerca enough to continue recapping. I'm enjoying Your Notes from the Couch.

Wondering what Veronica's timeframe is for revealing she's Valeria's bio-mom. I think it's much too soon now.

Facundo snubbing Hugo made me seethe. Poor Joaquin can't see the tension among his employees. Mario has his issues, but I feel for him having to be subordinate tor Facundo.

The age of characters is throwing me off. At first I thought Maria Jose was Ivan's ex, not his daughter. What a louse Ivan is to not even recognize her.

Guardian

Liz

I think Gina has cheated on Franco. It was mentioned in an earlier episode.

TAN CERCA

Facundo's mystery man is Mr. Mario Olivares.

Kat, Oh yeah, those teenage hormones are running on high!

Diana, " Facundo's saying "...he won't be alone long because he has met the girl of his dreams" proves he is delusional." He is quite an interesting character. I wonder if he Is he trying to avenge himself or is he Mr.Mario Olivares' minion? Or do they both have a bone to pick with Joaquín?

Susan, " Ivan is a hot mess , and now his grown daughter has shown up." A "hot mess" indeed! He seems pleasant enough on the surface but his polite veneer cracks quickly when confronted with the truth. I hope his daughter will put him through his paces.

Liz, "Diego needs to realize his share in the company is on Joaquin’s shoulders. They need to be on the same side, or team. But Diego isn’t as smart as he thinks he is." No, he isn't. I find his character tiring.

Niecie, "The age of characters is throwing me off. At first I thought Maria Jose was Ivan's ex, not his daughter." Me, too, and yes, Iván is truly the "ne'er do well" relative and a "louse" to boot!"

I've never seen the actor playing Diego . He isn't putting any subtlety into his performance.. He is acting like a spoiled toddler . Diego and Ivan's daughter seemed interested in each other which will probably lead to another young love triangle . I agree that the actress playing the daughter looks to be close in age to the actor playing her dad. Susan

Susan, the actor playing Diego was in Recetta. Lost his mother in that show. He's 18 irl. I couldn't get info on age of the actress playing Maria Jose but the lines around her mouth and the actor playing Eleazar's mouth make them look older than the teens they are playing.

GUARDIAN

I think maybe Aramis was directing Uriel to, um, remove one of the captive’s eyes. If so, I didn’t catch it. But I’m not sure I know the word for “gouge out” (nor do I want to.)

Georgina definitely cheated on Franco — he mentioned it when he was getting into his little dog bed on the floor in one of the early episodes. “If you hadn’t been unfaithful, a different rooster would be crowing” (otro gallo cantaría.) Another of his favorite expressions.
