Thanks, Anastasia. Quickies are just fine.
Hmm. Did Alya know about the plan to get Boran arrested at the Turkey/Syria border? I thought it was just between Vurgun and Sadakat.
What? We're all wanting Nare to be pregnant, but now she has blurry vision. I'm not aware of that being a pregnancy side effect.
That was a smooth move by Cihan in giving away the seized contraband. So Ecmel smuggles food? Cihan and Ecmel have been juggling the approval of the locals nearly this whole time. Ecmel tried to get the upper hand right after he got out of the slammer.
Good point, Maggie, about the once-a-day lactation. Ridiculous.
Thanks, Anastasia.
I didn’t care for the new furniture at the restored konak either. It doesn’t fit.
Cihan did not give away food. It was some kind of merchandise to compensate for the loss of crops. I guess the villagers will have to get produce somewhere else.
Zerrin is feeding the baby once a day but the woman taking care of the baby is a wet nurse and has been doing the regular feedings.
Congrats to the Brewers. It would be nice to have someone new win a WS. Tired of the Dodgers. Thank goodness the Yankees are out.

Part I
Rewind: Boran putting a blindfold on Alya and putting her in his car.
In the hospital Cihan and others are looking at the security footage. We see Boran leaving with Alya. Kaya says Ipek saw them and sure enough we see her sitting in Erol’s office. He’s pulling up security footage from the gas station buildings at the Midyat exit.
Sadakat at home calls Boran, but he doesn’t answer.
Boran is driving Alya up into a hilly area. We are at a higher elevation and ahhh, look at all that green! He drives by the small river (looks so lovely and refreshing!), then arrives by the small castle. Nothing can make you car sick like riding with your eyes closed, but Alya is tough and doesn’t seem urpy. He brings her in and unties her and takes the blindfold off. The nanny looks a bit shaken witnessing this. Deniz is still locked in the bathroom. Boran tells Alya to tell him he has to stay. She calls to Deniz and he opens the door.
Cihan is on the road, furious and very determined. He manages to make driving on a straight road a tense action scene. Sahin and Kaya are elsewhere casing the area, looking at houses, hoping to see Boran’s car. He asks a fellow standing roadside if he’s seen anything and the fellow says yes, a car drove by going towards Cizre. We are treated to the sight of a flock of goats. All this is such a relief to the eyes after the lunar landscape we’ve been in for practically the whole dizi.
Alya cuddles Deniz and persuades him to eat something. Deniz wants to know why they were late. Traffic, says Boran. Deniz: We get to go the mansion, right? Alya to Boran: He doesn’t want to be here. She reminds him that Ecmel can’t come and that he got so sick the last time he saw him. Boran reminds her that he has custody. Deniz will get used to it. If you don’t persuade him to stay I’ll take him out of the country. Alya says she can’t believe she was his wife, that she spent so many years with him. You don’t know how much I hate you.
Deniz repeats that he wants to go to Albora. Alya reminds him that she and Boran are separated and tells him Boran missed him and wants to spend time with him. Besides she works a lot. Deniz says but Cihan will be there! He works a lot too, says Alya.
She comments on how nice the house is. And she could bring Firfir! Deniz likes that idea. And then we can go to Albora? Alya makes him promise he won’t lock himself in the bathroom and that he’ll eat. Deal! says Deniz. I’ll stay for a few days and then you’ll bring Firfir and then later we’ll go to Albora!
Boran shows him his cool room with lots of toys. (Why hasn’t he seen it before?) Deniz loves it and starts playing with a model train. Por favor says Alya sadly to Boran. He shakes his head.
Time to go! Alya gives the nanny some bedtime instructions and then Boran ties her hands and begins to take her out the door. Look who’s coming in the door! Why, it’s Ecmel! Alya: What is that man doing here? She rants then tells Boran he’s a horrible father.
Cihan is still driving. We also see a car stuffed with henchies cruising the roads when, oops, they notice Boran going the other way. U-turn! They call Cihan. U-turn!
Part II
In the car Alya works the ropes on her wrists loose, takes off the blindfold and reaches through and grabs the emergency brake and yanks it. She jumps out and books it across a meadow and into a dense forest of skinny trees. Boran doesn’t even try to run after and catch her. I guess that coma took more out of him than we thought.
What a fascinating forest! The trees have lost almost all their leaves, so we’re left with their tall thin white trunks. They must be some sort of crop tree because they’re planted in rows. Alya runs through them the best she can. Her long warm scarf falls off. She falls and hits her head on a rock and as is de rigueur in TNs she’s knocked unconscious. A nice respite for the actors to have no lines and get to just lie there. The Boran actor hit the jackpot with the coma. Not that he’s wearing himself out in the scenes where’s he’s awake.
A mom and her little girl are gathering wood in the forest. The girl finds the scarf and puts it on. They admire it.
Cihan has stopped by the meadow. He has the rope and blindfold in his hand. The boys and lots henchies pull up.
Nare calls from home. She’s there with Fidan and Zerrin. Fidan managed to get Ecmel to talk to her and he told them Alya got loose then hung up. He also told her Boran guesses she’s in the woods.
It’s night. All the guys have flashlights and have spread themselves throughout the wood and are calling Alya’s name.
At the mansion Sadakat tries calling Boran. He doesn’t answer. Finally he calls her. He asks if Alya’s back.
Sadakat tells him if anything happens to her, Cihan would never forgive him. Are you trying to scare me? he asks. No, no cariño! She goes suspiciously soft. You are my oldest son. I just want to help you. I have a solution but I have to talk to you in person. He’s wary. Nobody’s here, she says, they’re all off searching.. She tells him where they can meet. She hangs up. Vamanos she says and we see Vurgun is there. Get everything ready.
Alya wakes up. We hear a barking dog. Ow, things hurt and she’s scared.
The mom and her daughter are still gathering wood even though it’s dark. Cihan runs into them and asks if they’ve seen anyone, then he spots the scarf. They just found it lying there, they say, about 600 meters in that direction.
Sadakat meets Boran in an empty warehouse. With tears in her eyes tells him he was her first love. When Ecmel wanted to kill me you were in my womb. When they told me you were dead how I cried, you have no idea! Then when I found out you were alive, I was incredibly happy. I would take on anybody to protect you. And now I’ve lost you more than if you were dead. Besides you don’t fit in because you don’t have a Tintin hairdo. Okay, she didn’t say that last bit.
Boran: I just came to hear a solution. I have one she says. We hear a gun cock. It’s Vurgun! Bajala says Boran but Vurgun doesn’t. Is he supposed to kill me? He asks Sadakat. Sadakat: I’m going to save you, not kill you. A big van pulls in. Boran is surprised. Sadakat tells him he’s going to get in and be taken to Syria. You are my mother! protests Boran. You went with that snake Ecmel she replies. Boran: Do you think I won’t just come back? Vurgon: they’ll be carrying contraband; you’ll be arrested. Sadakat: I told you to leave that woman and you went with the serpent. You took my grandson. It’s the only solution. Get in. Boran: No. Vurgun approaches him and puts the gun to his temple.
What about the driver? Won’t he get arrested too? Working for los Albora is rough.
Maggie
*Looks like Cowgirl Redhead is about to join the Bigly Sky as she just FAFO.
*Castillo gets triggered when Dalila confessed to pulling the plug on Constanza.
*Romina: I'm looking forward to seeing your Karma anvil courtesy of either Hothead Diana or Isturiz.
Thanks SO much, Maggie. You laid on the snark and even got in a "de rigueur". Yes, the Cihan actor has looking grim down pat. It's a good thing for Boran that he's going to Syria (if it really happens) because he's used up his last chance with his younger brother.
And, yes, if anyone hits their head in TNs and dizis, they're always completely out cod and for quite a while. Interestingly enough, they never seem to have brain damage after they're rescued.
How are they going to locate Deniz? The kid is pretty resourceful. When [if] Boran doesn't come back, he might convince the nanny to let him make a call.
Howdy from the Alamo City, CarayCaray family. Here's my super-short recap of last night's episode.
*Dondi356: Aurelio shoots Cowgirl Redhead DEAD on the spot along with the Miami PD police officer earlier. He & Dalvio take their bodies to the area where the alligators will eat them for tasty snacks LOL.
*Maggie: We see Elena playing with the lighter match, which annoys Isturiz. Wondering if that lighter match will be key in Monday's episode.
*Anastasia: Dalila calls Alfaro (who's flying back from Spain with Cifuentes & Muscular Bald Dude) & Dalila demands to see Alfaro at Mexico ATF Headquarters at once (forgot the name of the agency she's heading).
*Halimacandy: Amanda, Leo & Almendariz speaking with Reynaldo virtually over some campaign political strategies, etc.,
*Susan: Dimitry (the mysterious Soviet) is one sneaky SOB: I have a feeling he will target Felina again & eventually kill her in the closing stretch.
*Novelera: Dalvio speaks with Tata (who completely has no idea about Ismael being dead) on the phone. When she asks about Tata, we see Dalvio tense up, who says that Aurelio is with him on the plane & with that, we're heading into Ultimas Semanas.
Thanks, Maggie. I enjoyed the recap, not so much the episode.
This is getting ridiculous. How could Sadakat think her “solution” is going to work?
After all that’s happened to her and Deniz, I don’t know why Alya would want to stay. Because she loves Cihan and lives for the moments they spend in bed together fully clothed? Cihan is only a little better than the rest of the monsters on this show. It’s like she’s fallen into a sort of Stockholm Syndrome, and she accepts this constant abuse. I can see that little Deniz is going to grow up to be just like the other Albora men.
I couldn’t watch live last night. Now I must torture myself with watching and writing a recap today.
S2 #62 part 1
Slight rewind: Sadakat and Vurgun coerce Boran to get in the truck to Syria. Vurgun puts his gun to Boran’s head. Will Boran go?
Scared Alya wanders through the woods. Sounds like dogs barking. Are they wolves? She looks up at a tree. Meanwhile, Cihan and crew continue to search for her in the dark. Cihan finds Alya’s birthday present, the Tigris and Euphrates bracelet, on the ground. He shouts out for her. Alya! Answer me! She shouts back—I’m here! I’m here! And where is she? She’s up that tree, clinging for dear life! [I laughed at this.]
Cihan wonders, how did you get up there? I heard the wolves and got scared, she replies, I climbed so they wouldn’t get me. Cihan tells her there aren’t any wolves around there. [ha, joke’s on her.] I’m so glad you found me, she says. Of course, he answers, no matter where you are, I’ll always find you. He tells her he’ll help her get down. But she starts to move and falls…right on top of Cihan.
Back to the warehouse and Sada is still trying to get Boran in the truck. Vurgun still has a gun to Boran’s head. Boran makes a quick move to push the gun away and makes a run for it. Vurgun fires a shot in the air. Sada shrieks—stop! Don’t hurt him! Vurgun fires another warning shot as he races to catch up with Boran. The two men struggle. Vurgun manages to zip tie Boran’s hands behind his back.
Boran runs over to his mother and kneels before her. Have mercy, mom. Listen to me. I was on the other side for years, and when I awoke from my coma, Alya was married to my brother [according to your last wishes.], who my son calls “Dad”. Sada looks at Vurgun who cautions, don’t listen to him. Boran continues, I know I’ve made mistakes. I realize that now. Don’t do this to me, Sada answers tearfully.
Please help me mom, Boran begs, don’t do this. Don’t send me across the border. Vurgun speaks up, you said he had to leave, and he will. I warned you there’s no turning back. We talked about this. Don’t give in. Boran continues to beg. I’m aware of my mistakes. I’ll get treatment, I promise. Vurgun warns Sada again, don’t believe him. Boran says, I’ll start treatment so I can recover.
Sada doesn’t know what to think or do. Boran keeps working on her. I even promise not to interfere with Alya and Cihan’s wedding. My son can grow up with Alya. I’m begging you. Again, Vurgun says don’t believe him. Boran pours it on. Mom, Ecmel turned out to be a devil, just like you said. But I learned my lesson. I’ll come back to the konak and live by your side. I won’t come between Alya and Cihan anymore. I promise. My son will grow up with Alya. Please forgive me.
Sada is weakening. Vurgun tells Boran to shut up and stop lying. Boran recalls the past. Remember when we had such wonderful days at the konak? What happened, mom? I want to have good times like before. Please forgive me. Don’t send me across the border. Forgive me. We were so happy. Sada asks him to swear he won’t return to Ecmel’s konak.
Vurgun can’t believe that Sada is changing her mind. Boran swears he won’t go to back to Ecmel. Sada adds another condition. You’ll accept that Alya will be Cihan’s wife. Boran swears and adds that Alya will raise Deniz. I won’t leave your side, mom. Sada tells Vurgun to untie Boran. Vurgun replies, don’t believe him, he’s lying. He’s not the same Boran you knew. You even said so yourself.
Sada asks again for Vurgun to untie Boran. Instead, Vurgun points his gun at Boran. And Sada points her gun at Vurgun in response. Boran is on his knees between the two, pleading with Sada to help him. Sada tells Vurgun to drop his gun and untie Boran. He resists. She shouts at him to drop the gun and untie her son.
S2 #62 part 2
Vurgun gives in. He’s disgusted. He asks, what kind of person are you? And he tosses the gun down. I didn’t know you were the type to renege on a deal. We get a closeup of Vurgun’s gun and looks like Boran is eyeing it, too. Vurgun warns Sada, you’re making a serious mistake. This isn’t the Boran you knew. You’ll regret this, I can assure you, Sadakat Hanim. Vurgun is ready to cut the tie. He looks at Sada, you’ll regret this, believe me.
The tie is cut, Boran lunges for the gun on the ground, and shoots Vurgun right between the eyes! Sada gasps. She has her gun pointed at Boran. Boran turns and points his gun at her. [too much to wish they’d take each other out right now.] I knew you couldn’t hurt me, thanks, Boran says with a maniacal smile. Sada is frozen in shock. Boran keeps his gun aimed at her as he gets into a pickup truck and drives away. The driver of the rig going to Syria comes over to check on Vurgun. Yep, he’s dead. Sada just stares.
Cihal are unconscious on the ground. Two men come and drag them off. Next morning, Kaya, Sahin, Kadir and Muzaffer are combing the woods, shouting for Cihan [what about Alya?] Sahin tells Kaya to call Cihan’s phone. Sahin hears Cihan’s phone ring and finds it.
Someone calls Kaya with news from the warehouse. Kaya then tells the others that Vurgun is dead, and that Sada was there, too. He doesn’t quite understand what’s happened. He leaves Sahin in charge and heads off.
Lol, Sada is still standing in the same spot as last we saw, with the gun still in her hand and Vurgun’s corpse lying in front of her. She’s in total shock.
Meanwhile, Cihal are in someone’s home, asleep next to each other [yes, fully clothed] on a bed. Alya wakes up and sees two men looking at them. She’s alarmed and wakes up Cihan. Cihan! Who are they?! Cihan holds her and pulls out his gun. [of course.] Who are you?! The men just stare at them and remain silent.
The woman from the woods enters. Please put down the gun, sir. Cihan recognizes her. She introduces herself, I’m Makbule. These men are my husband and son, Adem and Semsi. They found you unconscious in the forest and brought you here. She tells the men to leave. Makbule says she recognized Cihan, but she didn’t know what to do. Neither one of you had a phone. If you didn’t wake up, we would have taken you to a hospital. Thank goodness we didn’t have to.
Makbule assumes Cihal are married because she saw the rings. And that’s why they put them together in bed. Cihan looks a bit sheepish but doesn’t correct her. Makbule asks, who are you, sir? We are Alboras, he replies, from Albora. Makbule says she’s not familiar with it. She asks, what were you doing in the forest in the middle of the night? Alya says she got lost and Cihan was looking for her. Makbule is glad she was found.
The little girl calls out for her mother. She enters wearing Alya’s scarf. The girl takes off the scarf to return it to Alya. Alya makes it a gift for the girl. Makbule excuses herself so Cihal can get some rest. She’s making soup. They can eat when it’s ready.
Cihan is grateful they were found by good people. They even left slippers for them to wear. Cihan asks Alya if she’s okay. Are you hurt? She’s fine and notes, I fell on top of you, are you okay? Cihan answers with sly smile, bayıldım. Üzerime düştüm, bayıldım. They translated this as: I fainted. You fell on top of me, I fainted. Don’t tell anyone. [Today’s Turkish lesson: bayıldım literally means, “I fainted”. But figuratively it can mean “I loved it.” So, I took it as he passed out from the enjoyment. Oh, that Cihan.] Alya laughs and replies, I’ll tell everyone in the town square when we get back. They both laugh.
S2 #62 part 3
On a serious note, Cihan asks, did Boran take you by force? She says no. He stopped me in the hospital elevator and told me he’d take me to Deniz. So of course, I went with him. What else could I do? [we could think of a few things.] He says, first he took your phone and then he tells you he’d take you to see Deniz?
Alya explains that she had no choice but to go. Deniz had locked himself in the bathroom. Poor kid was in there for hours. [I’m having some evil thoughts on leaving the kid in there for a few days. Resist, dondi.] I got him out and he was hungry because he hadn’t eaten. He really wanted to come back. He said, “mom, take me with you, I don’t want to stay here.” I talked to Boran about it, but I couldn’t convince him.
Did Deniz cry when you left, Cihan asks. No, Alya says, I convinced him to stay. Boran pressured me and threatened to take my son abroad. Ecmel arrived just as I was leaving. Cihan is alarmed. Did Deniz see Ecmel? Alya says no, Boran said he wouldn’t allow it. At least I know he hadn’t seen him when I left. Cihan wonders why Alya trusted Boran [ditto.] Alya notes, that man won’t stop, he’s scum. I’m sure my son will see him soon enough. We have to get him out of there, asap.
Cihan assures Alya that they will get Deniz back. He asks her if she was blindfolded. Yes. He asks her if she heard anything that might help to locate where Deniz is. She says she heard the sound of running water. Maybe a stream. As we approached the house, she remembers, I heard the water and the car shook like it was crossing a bridge. Cihan says he’ll call Erol and have him check camera footage. Maybe he can see the car you were in.
Cihal call for Makbule. She comes and tells them the food is ready. Cihan replies, God bless you, we will eat but do you have a phone we can use? We have one, she says, but the battery is dead. He asks if the son or husband have phones. Makbule says no, they are mute. They don’t speak. Cihan asks if she can charge the phone. She says the electric is out. It happens often. It should be back in an hour or so. It will probably be back by the time you finish your soup. She smiles, come. Well, at least we’ll have soup, Cihan says, let’s go.
Sada is still standing over Vurgun’s body with gun in hand when Kaya and Kadir arrive. Kaya is horrified. What happened? What happened! He checks Vurgun. Still dead. Kaya asks, did you do this? Answer me! Sada remains silent and motionless. Answer me, Kaya demands, did you kill him?! Did you shoot Vurgun? He takes the gun from her hand. Kaya keeps asking if she killed Vurgun. He tries to shake her out of it.
There’s a distant siren. Kadir says it’s the gendarmerie. Sada snaps out of it a bit and takes her gun back. We have to go to the konak, she says flatly. Are we going to just leave Vurgun here, Kaya asks incredulously. Did you kill him? She repeats, we have to go to the konak now. We have to get out of here. Kaya puts his mom in his car and Kadir takes the one Sada came in. Sada repeats, we have to go to the konak. So, Vurgun has paid the price for Sada’s stupidity. They leave and the gendarmes arrive.
Makbule serves the tarhana. I made it myself, she says, flour, yogurt and tomatoes, all from our land. We harvested it under the Mardin sun. It will warm you up, it’s healing. Alya tastes it, it’s very good, ellerine sağlık [health to your hands]. Makbule asks Cihan if he likes it. It’s great, he replies, ellerine sağlık. Afiyet olsun, Makbule answers.
S2 #62 part 4
Alya asks the girl if she’s going to eat. Makbule says they already ate. She asks Cihal, what are your names? They introduce themselves. Makbule says she’ll give Alya a big bag so she can cook this for her husband. Cihan says he’d love that. Makbule replies, mashallah, your bride is very beautiful. Alya gets shy and thanks her. Is she a good cook, Makbule asks Cihan. Of course, he replies. Ah, beautiful and skilled, Makbule notes, I’ll leave you alone now. Enjoy the soup. When the power comes back, I’ll charge the phone.
Makbule leaves and her daughter takes over the questioning. How did you meet? Where did you meet her and what did you like about her? Cihan is a bit surprised by the question. He looks at Alya and smiles. She chuckles. Cihan thinks about it. Hmm, where did I meet her? He looks at Alya again and he gets an idea. He tells the girl that Alya was studying in a foreign country. We met there. She was studying medicine. [ha, this was from the cringy dinner game that Alya wanted to play.]
The girl perks up and asks Alya, you’re a doctor? Alya says yes. The girl says she wants to be a doctor like her when she grows up. Alya is sure she would make a great doctor. The girl wants to know what happened next. Cihan says, well, I went to the country she lived in. I went there for work. I saw her in a café. She was in line buying coffee, as was I. Suddenly, she turned around and spilled her coffee on me.
The girl giggles, that’s so… [cringy?] Cihan asks, is it cliché? She giggles yes. Alya pipes up, but it was nice, don’t you think? The girl says yes and asks if it was love at first sight. Cihan looks at Alya and answers, of course, that’s what happened. Lingering Cihal gaze here.
Cihan asks the girl if she watches a lot of dizis and movies. She says yes. Finally, they ask the girl’s name. She’s Dicle. Alya says, it’s a pretty name. Cihan takes note of this. Makbule calls Dicle to come help her. Cihan asks Alya, do you like her name? It’s very pretty. If we have a daughter, I’d like her to be named Dicle. Let it be so, Alya replies. [note: Dicle means Tigris. If they have a son, too, they could name him “Firat”, meaning, Euphrates. The bracelet!] More Cihal gazing.
Back to reality. Sada sits staring in her room. Nare knocks at the door. Mom? Open the door. Mom? Sada doesn’t budge. Nare comes to Kaya in the living room. She won’t open the door. She won’t, Kaya replies. Nare asks if he reached the truck driver. He answers, no, and I don’t know what’s happening. What was my mother doing there with a gun? What was Vurgun doing there? She was up to something, I know it. [no kidding.]
Nare asks, why would Vurgun be with her? Kaya has no idea. She asks if there’s any news from Cihan and Alya. Kaya gets a call from Sahin and puts it on speaker. Sahin says that Cihan found Alya and they’re okay. They are going to get them. Sahin asks what’s going on, do we know who shot Vurgun? Nare says they don’t know. Kaya asks if Cihan knows about Vurgun. Sahin says he didn’t tell him.
Cihan is able to call Erol. He asks him to check the cameras. Alya hopes he finds something. She’s going crazy thinking about Deniz. Cihan returns the phone to Makbule, who is gathering wood while her son chops. He tells her his family is coming to get them. She wishes they could stay longer, she enjoyed having them. Cihan says they will return again. But until his ride arrives, he will help with the chores.
S2 #62 part 5
Cihan takes over the chopping. [note: in dizis, a man usually has his shirt off for this task, while the woman enjoys watching him. I thought of Ferit in Golden, trying to chop wood in his winter coat with a small hatchet.] Alya wants to help with the gathering. Cihan thinks her doctor hands are too delicate for this sort of work.
Alya thinks that’s nonsense. She says she could even chop wood. Nope, Cihan states that’s his job and Alya’s is gathering. He starts chopping. Bismillah. Makbule is impressed. Mashallah, she tells Alya, I see your husband has handled an ax before. [He also handles a gun quite well, too.] Alya notes, there’s not much he can’t do.
Sahin and Muzaffer arrive. Sahin greets everyone, selam aleyküm! He looks at Cihan chopping. Kolay gelsin, he says, was chopping wood enjoyable? Cihan says it relieves stress, come try it. Cihan tells Makbule, may Allah bless you for opening the door to your home for us. Don’t thank me, she replies, you’ll always be welcome. Alya thanks her too. You were so kind to us. Like a breath of fresh air. Dicle says come back soon.
Cihan takes Muzaffer aside and tells him to give these people whatever they need. Please handle this. Cihan gives the family a final thank you and they leave.
Cihan says he called Kaya but he didn’t answer. Sahin says he had some things to do. Cihan picks up on this and asks, what happened? Sahin tells him that Vurgun is dead. How did it happen, Cihan asks. Sahin replies, we really don’t know. It happened just outside of Midyat. Your mother was there.
Boran is back at the kidnap house. Ecmel tells him, you saw what your mother is capable of. Accept it. That woman is a snake. She was going to do the same to you that she once did to me. She was going to send you to jail. Just like she left me to rot. I hope she doesn’t call the police. Boran says, she won’t. She would have done it already. Ecmel replies, even though you believe that, don’t trust her. You never know what she’ll do.
Ecmel gets a call. They found Alya. Ecmel tells them to keep an eye on what they do. Ecmel informs Boran. He hopes that Alya doesn’t remember anything about her trip there. He asks, was she blindfolded? Yes, Boran answers, and where she escaped is far from here. She won’t find the house. Inshallah, Ecmel replies.
Cihan and Alya return to the konak. The cops are there. Kadir tells Cihan they are there about Vurgun. They want to speak with family members. A cop tells Cihan they are there for a matter concerning Vurgun Celebi. He lived here, correct? Cihan says yes, he works for me. The cop explains, we found his body just outside Midyat. He was murdered. Sada comes out of her room. She greets the cop.
S2 #62 part 6
The cop asks, did Vurgun have any problems with your family? Cihan says, we weren’t in Midyat. We just got back. Okay, the cop says, if you discover anything, let me know. Cihan agrees. The cops leave. Cihan turns to Sada. Mom, I’m listening. All eyes on Sada. She just turns and walks back upstairs. Everyone follows her to the living room.
Cihan questions his mother. Why didn’t you tell them you were there? What were you doing there? Why was Vurgun there? And why was there a truck? Sada explains, I was going to put Boran on that truck. I was sending him to Syria to be arrested and Vurgun was helping me. Cihan asks, you wanted him arrested? And was Vurgun going to handle it? Did you come up with this plan?
Sada admits it. I thought it was the best solution, but I couldn't go through with it as planned. My heart got the better of me. Why couldn't you do it, Cihan asks. Vurgun wanted to take Boran by force, Sada replies, he said he was getting him on that truck, so he drew his gun. I drew mine and I shot him. Boran escaped. Cihan asks, you shot Vurgun? She confesses, I did.
Cihan asks, where’s the gun? I have it, she answers. Cihan says, the police were at the door, and you didn’t get rid of the gun? It didn’t occur to me, Sada replies. Cihan asks for the gun. Sada refuses—so you can give it to the police? Cihan demands the gun. He wants to check it. She hands it over. He checks the clip. See, she says, there’s a bullet missing. I shot him.
Cihan inspects the gun further and he determines that the gun hasn’t been discharged all day. Sada grabs the gun from him. She fires back—I told you I killed him! I shot him! Cihan asks, who shot Vurgun? Alya blurts—it was Boran, wasn’t it? Boran did it, didn’t he?
Sada denies it. He was going to hurt my son. He wanted to take him. I pulled out my gun and shot him. Cihan asks, where’s Vurgun’s gun? Kaya says it wasn’t there at the scene. Cihan asks his mom, did Boran do it? Alya implores her to tell the truth. My son is living with a murderer! If we tell the court that, they’ll probably give custody back to me. [one would hope.] You know Deniz doesn’t want to be with him. He wants to be with me. He gets scared when he sees Ecmel. My son is in a terrible situation! Tell the truth!
What don’t you understand about what I said, Sada replies. I shot him! Cihan wants Sada to tell the cops what Boran did. Kaya and Nare also appeal to her. Sada insists that she did it. Alya blows up right in Sada’s face. Enough! I have to save my son! I’m tired of this! My son is in danger! I’m his mother! Please save him, have mercy!
And we are out!
I absolutely loved this episode and you did it splendid justice, Dondi! Excellent job!! And thank you (as always) for explaining the Turkish for us.
I’ve admired the writing in this show, at the beginning because of the lines written for Sadakat which always stood my hair in end. How did the writers imagine such an awful woman?
Then later I admired the astonishing plot twists and turns they came up with. And last night was no exception. Our Yurgun! Shot by the man he saved and gave up any personal life for!
There was great acting all around and even the Boran actor did some acting. The Sadakat actress was fabulous.
I do wonder about that falling out of the tree thing though. Unlikely they’d both the knocked unconscious; more likely they’d break some bones but that didn’t happen.

On a more trivial note: I was fascinated by that little forest. It was lovely and ethereal. But what kind of trees were those? They were purposely planted in rows. They must yield some sort of crop.
It was a very see-through forest and really not very large. The strong flashlights could be easily seen and if we could hear a dog barking in the distance, Alya for sure could have heard all those men hollering for her.

Brilliant recap, dondi. You described everything perfectly and, as always, I'm nodding away at your asides. And kudos for the comment on Maggie's recap: "Because she loves Cihan and lives for the moments they spend in bed together fully clothed." This whole prudish thing going on with Cihal is just ridiculous. I know we don't get graphic in dizis, but I do remember some postcoital bare shoulders with everything else covered up in dizis.
Alya's been more or less up a tree since she arrived in Mardin.
I would say a major theme of this dizi, if not the main theme, is motherhood. This one surpasses Mexican telenovelas, IMHO, for mothers who would do anything for their children. Sadakat should have realized that Vurgun knew the real Boran far better than she did. And, of course, Alya meekly goes to see her child blindfolded. And this after Sadakat's prior attempt to get Alya and Deniz out of Turkey so Cihan won't kill Boran. Not a good track record.
LOL at "too much to wish for" that Sada and Boran might kill each other!
Frozen in shock Sada became self-preservation Sada when she heard the sirens.
I thoroughly enjoyed Cihan and Alya's time with the kindly regular people. How far away are they from the Albora lands? It's hard to realize these people never heard of the Alboras. But it looks like they'll be well-rewarded Good Samaritans.
Boran held a gun on his mother and murdered a person, the man who kept him alive for a year. No wonder Sadakat is in shock.
I'm basking in the glow of sports success. The Golden State Valkyries are a miracle team, going to the WNBA Finals in their second year in existence! And my hometown team The Cleveland Guardians came from two games behind to advance in the American League.
The Packers routed the Bears today. Yay!
Dodgers - Brewers game was great. Nice to see that some of us are enjoying post season sports.
On another note, half of my golden recap disappeared yesterday so, I'll post tonight on the new page.
novelera, LOL, "Alya's been more or less up a tree since she arrived in Mardin."
