Refugio Para el Amor #48-49 Thu 6/28/12 Rosa Has a Hissy, Everbody Loves Luci Except Rosa and Paz Gets Back What She Lost
Part I
Hospital Mexico City:
Rosa is in the hospital, and Conny is telling her to be calm. Mati comes in and Conny tells her she is now in charge of Rosa (Poor Mati), Conny has to go to work. Conny tells Rosa to have serenity now! No, but to stay calm. Mati tells Conny ( who looks like she'd like to escape already) that she'll call her if anything else happens. As soon as Conny leaves, Rosa is giving Poor Mati the stinkeye and asks her did you tell anyone about our little secret? Mati tells her Pato knows all about the secret of the names of Luci's parents. Mati tells Rosa to stop being mortified. Mati just couldn't hold it in anymore. Rosa is very pithed. She wants to know if Rod and Luci are married? Mati of course doesn't tell her, so Rosa from the corner of her crazed mind says, Luci and Rod can't get married cause they are, wait for it, BROTHER AND SISTER!!! Oh, noes. She tells Mati that Luci is the daughter of Aurora and Max. Mati is shocked. (Poor Mati, I hope she doesn't have an infarto over this). About this point, Max comes in and wants to know what the hey she is talking about. Rosa gives him the death ray. Well, Rosa starts right in, she says you had an affair with Aurora and the result was the baby. He is so mad, he tells Rosa her obsession has made her loca, he never, eva had an affair with Aurora, never touched the woman, had a lot of respect for her and let her rest in peace. Of course, Rosa says Max is a liar, damn him, she knows for a fact it is true, and nothing he says will change her mind. He tells her she is the Amor di mi Vida (Love of my life) and Mi Mujuer (My woman) and she just doesn't beleive him. He grabs her by the arms, but she is hysterical, screaming and ranting and raving with these accusations, while Mati is in the corner, crying and very upset. She also says that Claudio ought to know about Max and Aurora. Mati has finally had enough and leaves. Mati goes outside the door and prays to Dios, ayudi mi nina. (God, help my little one) and please help her, this is a terrible lie. Rosa wants an admission from him, but he says this is a huge lie and all in her mind, with her obsessive jealousy. He also tells her to callate! (Shut up). He keeps insisting this is all a lie, she is still screaming, when the nurse comes in to take her for testing. The nurse is giving Max the stinkeye. She takes Rosa off and Max and Mati are alone. He tells Mati, are you ready for this??? He is worried about Rosa's mental health, ya think??? He thinks this is all Claudio's fault, cause all this started when Claudio got out of la carcel. He asks a good question of Mati, could Luci be this baby???? Mati (Come on now Mati, you could have told him) says, wait for it, Only Dios knows for sure. Oh, please. Now Max wants to know if Rosa was this jealous when she was little. Mati says yes, she was. Of course, this is also Claudio's fault. Speak of the devil, guess who comes in, anyone??? It's Claudio come to see Rosa.
Claudio was just wanting to see how Rosa was doing, and brought her a bouquet of beautiful pink roses. Mati takes those to put them in water. Max gives congrats to Claudio for opening his own office, after getting out of la carcel. Claudio asks Max how Rosa is doing, and Max says better, liar, liar, pants on fire, jus' sayin', and Max invites Claudio to go for coffee, since Rosa isn't there. They go, and Mati is worried that Rosa will have an infarto over this obsession. Claudio and Max are now having coffee and Max wants to know why he is persuing this case against Max. Claudio simply says I'm innocent that's why. He says Max has his family to help him thru everything, and Claudo has nothing, wife is dead, child is dead, and Rosa was the last one to talk to Aurora before she died, and he was all alone in that carcel. Max thinks Claudio is guilty and Claudio tells him,he wants his dignity and prestige back. Claudio says thanks to Max, he lost everything. Rod comes in. Claudio introduces himself to Rod. Claudio is getting ready to leave, and wants to pay the bill, but Max tells him he'll take care of it. Claudio goes. Rod is shocked his Papa Max was having coffee with Claudio, his former best friend, and now convicted fraudster. Rod asks if this is a coincidence? Max says everything is under control,and that Claudio just wanted to see Rosa.
Rod and Max have made it back to Rosa's room. Mati comes out of the bathroom, and is happy to see Rod and asks how Luci is? Rod says she is fine. Max wants to know from Rod's own lips, if he truly married Luci, and Rod tells him, no it was all a joke on you, not really, he tells him yes, Luci is my wife.
Torreslanda, Mexico City:
Max is in his office calling Vicky. He chews her out and wants to know why she wasn't answering her phone? She says her phone died (good one Vicky) and didn't realize it. Then she has a little slip of the tongue and asks how Rosa is. He wants to know who told her. She doesn't answer. He presses. She says "I Heard It Through The Grapevine", not really she heard it at the salon. He thinks they are a bunch of chisme artists. He wants a meet later, she tries to fudge and he tells her she better not stand him up, and then he hangs up on her. (Note to Vicky: Ok, now is the time to dump this idiot, he has NO respect for you, jus' sayin').
Around Mexico City:
Rod and Luci are back in the D.F. They are at Rod's apartment, Rod wants Luci to come in, but she won't. She says they need to not have anymore, en flagrante, until they are married in the church, besides they PROMISED, but Rod agrees. He says if she moves in, he can keep his passion in check, (Note to Hot Bod Rod, how long you think that will last, jus' sayin'), but Luci says nah, can't. He goes in to get a change of clothes and she waits by the open door. Rod comes out and asks Luci where to? She says Violetta's. She is going to stay there until the church wedding. ( I see a pie cart rolling quickly toward them). Rod wants to know if she's sure. She says she is. Rod and Luci get to Vio's and Rod is dropping Luci off there while he is at work, and he gives Luci lots of kisses, and then tells the girls he will be by later to pick up Luci so they can meet with Padre Honesto. He goes and now the girls want all the JUICY DETAILS, and they mean ALL, about the honeymoon. But Luci avoids that by telling them she needs to see Dona Estella to use her phone. Luci goes to see Dona Estella and Marnita is there too. Hugs and congrats and Marinita says she missed Luci. Luci uses the phone and Don Serapio answers and says glad she called cause her Mama Paz is that worried about her. He'll go down and tell her she called, so Paz can call her back. She hangs up, and the little chisme lady-in- waiting Mari wants to know where you been Luci, you got some 'spailin' to do. Luci says she likes married life, I'll bet, she is afraid of Rosa, so she is staying with Vio until the church wedding. Estella is rolling her eyes. Estella tells Luci that Rosa is in the hospital. Luci is wondering why her Roddy didn't tell her. Estella doesn't know what is wrong with Rosa. Luci has gone back to Serena and Vio's and Luci wants to know why Serena is hanging with Vio this time of day. Serena tells Luci she now has a job at Inferno. Luci doesn't like this at all but Vio tells her she is keeping a good eye on Serena after the Luci incident. Luci doesn't want her to give up nursing, but Serena assures her she wouldn't do that, and that this is temporary. Marcial and then Lorenzo come by and Lorenzo is very happy to see Luci. Luci shows Lorenzo her ring and he is very impressed. Luci has gone back to Dona Estella's and her Mama Paz is on the phone. Luci takes the phone and Paz starts asking Luci, where you been, what you been doing? Luci tells her Rod and she went on a little trip and Paz wants to know like yesterday, if Luci has done, the you know what, and poor Luci, who is very truthfull, tells her not to ask. Paz is now upset, she says they both PROMISED, to wait for the Padre to bless this union before they, you know.
Julie and Gala are at Gala's apt and they want to set a spa day, I think. Gala goes off to work. Gala is at work, and had a meeting, and asks her assistant to stay behind, I think her name is Ferny. She tells Ferny she wants to do an article about the Fonda at Inferno, and wants her to be discreet.
Rod has gone to the Torreslanda home and Pato is in the garden and sees him. He is so happy to see Rod. Rod is surprised he is outside, but is very happy to see him. Says he missed Pato. Pato says Rod was enjoying his honeymoon, si. Of course Rod says yes. Pato tells Rod that Rosa is in an emotional state, and is in the hospital for testing. Pato changes the subject to the foundation that Rod is going to run, and Rod doesn't get the hint. You see at this point Pato has seen Frigid the Rigid (using the Frigid method of listening by trying to hide behind a pillar). Rod tells Pato that Luci has him body and soul and Frigid hears everything and just can't beleive it. Now Pato knows she knows all.
Julie is at lunch with her friend Carolla. Carolla asks Julie if Gala is still working on getting that Hot Bod Rod back. Julie tells Carolla that Gala is intent on exposing that servant to the world to show them who she really is. Carolla says she better think long and hard about that, that servant could sue. Julie wants to go on a little vacay, and invites Carolla to go with her. Carolla wants to know, where, when, why? Julie tells her it's a little pleasure investigation adventure. Carolla is like Que??? (What??). Julie says to come with her somewhere and she'll explain.
Hanna and Boris are talking about Rosa. Hanna tells him she thinks it has to do with her heart. Hanna wants to know if he has talked to Lula, he says no, and just at that point Lula walks by. Hanna tries to talk to her, but she isn't saying anything. Lula doesn't want to talk to Hanna. Hanna says you've been my bff since we were kids, and Lula says yeah, till Boris came along. Hanna says she never wanted to hurt Lula. Boris says if Lula can't handle it, so sorry. Hanna tells her bye and Lula sits on the bench and cries. Hanna doesn't get far when she runs into Melissa. Melissa says she is on the way to see Tia Rosa at the hospital and Hanna wants to come with. They go and afterwards Boris sits right down and lights into Lula. He tells Lula that she and Hanna have been bffs foreva and now she is whining and carrying on, and he feels sorry for her. (Note to Boris: Wait till you find out Hanna is so NOT into you, you'll see), he tells her someway to treat her bff, Lula cries.
Aldo is in his cubbyhole, fiddling with the computer to see if he can get that shamrock screen to reappear on his computer. He talks to Vicky by cell and she is mad at him cause she got in trouble with Max cause of the Rosa business. He finally gets his laptop to show that screen and he asks Vicky to hold on.
Melissa calls Claudio, who is at his office,and wants a meet. He says sure any time.
Het Het:
Paz and Magda are having a little convo and Paz is worried about Luci cause she hasn't called and she wants to go to Don Serapio's to call Hot Bod Rod's cell phone (Note to Paz: They are a little busy, breaking that promise to you, jus' sayin'). There is a knock on the door, and there is Lic Barrerra, and he's got something for Paz. He says its paperwork demanding Don Aquiles produce the deeds to the land and house, and if he doesn't produce said documents he goes to la carcel (the jail). Magda and Paz are shocked. They tell Lic Barrerra that Don A is a huge cheese in this area, has the police in his pocket and they are afraid. Lic Barrera is prepared for that, and says he can go thru the justice system in the D.F. doing an end round around the local justice system. Both women like this idea better, and Lic Barrera shows them the paperwork. Paz is really wanting the deeds for Luci and Lorenzo, because Don A is also cheating them. Lic Barrerra tells her she needs justice and to grab these back from Don A. She now has the power and he doesn't, cause what he did was wrong. Magda and Paz are cleaning, and Paz is still worried she hasn't heard from Luci. Magda reminds her that Luci is now a married lady, but the only thing Paz is really worried about is, can you guess??? That's right, they did the deed without benefit of the Padre (Note to Paz: Your motherly instincts are spot on). Magda says so what if they DID IT, times have changed, but not in Paz's book. Magda basically tells Paz, Rod and Luci are in love and to let it go already. Ariche comes by and tells the ladies that Dona Lucita is at Don A's. Ariche has stayed for lunch, when Don Serapio comes and tells Paz that Luci called. Paz is so happy. Paz wants to go to Don Serapio's and Ariche is coming with, but before they go, Magda gives Ariche a new red banda. He is so happy. After they go Magda says she hopes Vio meets someone like Rod.
Copio is on a mission to deliver a note to Dona Lucita (La Gorda). The note looks like a child wrote it, lol. It is an invitation to dine at Don A's. Well, Dona Lucita is over the moon, and kisses Copio on the cheek and says of course she'll be there with bells on.
Meanwhile, Don A is meeting with the Commandante, hoping this will end up at the local level. He is worried about going to la carcel or being sued. The Commandante thinks this will be local, piece of cake. Don A says they have a good case, cause he threw them out on the street.
Dona Lucita is on her way to Don A's when Ariche passes her on the street. He sees her go in to Don A's house. Dona Lucita has arrived at Don A's and he answers her knock and lets her in. She is over the moon. He takes her hand and tells her the house is happy she's there (Oh come on now, we all know this is a bribe). She thinks Don A is enthralled with her. Copio, who is dressed like a maid, bandana round the head, apron over his clothes, is serving the food, it looks like he made it too. Who knew Copio could cook??? Anyway, there are huge platters of food, and Dona Lucita isn't shy about eating, I have to say. She has loaded two plates and is getting sauce on everything, and salsa too. Don A looks like he wants to hurl, he isn't eating, he is watching Dona Luchita eat. She thanks him for inviting her and that his home is like a palace. Don A says he would like to share this palace with a woman of his dreams, Dona Luchita thinks that is her (lol). Dona Luchita has finished everything on her plates lol. Don A still looks like he wants to hurl. Copio now brings her what looks like Picot (Mexican Alkaseltzer) and she tells Don A she sure enjoyed this lovely meal. Don A tells her he is glad she liked it. He tells Copio to bring on the dessert. He brings a cheesecake, that looks yummy and something else. He gives her the whole cheesecake, lol. Now Dona Luchita wants to know what type of woman he is looking for? He is thought bubbling Luci while he tells her sweet, nice, small and someone that can keep things to herself. Well, she tells him she fits that bill. She puts her arms around him and Don A tells her, he is mad at her cause she told Lic Barrerra that she "owns" Paz' house. He doesn't want Lic Barrerra to find this out, or about the money she gave him. She promises she won't say anything, will say it was a misunderstanding and tells him he is very handsome and grabs his lapels and purses her lips, like she is waiting for him to lay the big one on her, lol. He starts coughing,, like he is about to hurl, but he's faking to avoid the kiss. She wants to give him some water, lol.
Part II
Mexico City:
Luci tells her Mama that in fact they did the deed. Paz is upset cause she feels that Rod won't respect Luci now, say what???? Paz is disappointed in both of them.. but Luci tells her that she is staying with Vio until the church wedding. She tells her moms to chill out, everyone knows they got married but Rosa. She tells Paz that Rod is very good to her. Paz passes on the news about Lic Barrerra and getting the house and lands back and about Don A and the possible ending up in la carcel. Luci, bless her heart, says well yeah Don A was bad but la carcel. Ariche is there and wants to talk to Luci, so Paz gives the blessing to Luci and for Lorenzo too, and passes the phone. Ariche says he misses her, wants Rod, but Luci says Rod is at work, and now he wants Marinita. She passes the phone and the little ones say they miss each other.
Gala is still having that meeting with Ferny, and she tells her she wants to do an expose on Inferno and wants lots of CLEAR Pics of the women that work there, ruh roh. Ferny goes to start on that, and Julie and Carolla have come to see Gala. Julie informs Gala about her plan to go with Carolla to Het Het to see this old rich dude (Don A) to see if they had a little somethin' somethin' going on before she came to the D.F. Julie wants some money to recoup her N.Y. apartment, but Gala just wants to investigate Luci from before she got to the D. F., that is her new focus. Of course, while this is being discussed, guess who calls, anyone???, its Frigid the Rigid, bout to runtelldat to Gala. Frigid tells her, guess what, ya wanna know, do ya, do ya, its important. Gala is like ok you witch what you want now???? Frigid tells her she used the Frigid method, jus' sayin' and overheard the convo with Rod and Pato and tells Gala, wait for it, Luci and Rod are planning a wedding.
Aldo is in his cubbyhole calling Pato for help with that shamrock screen, when Jeronimo comes in. He wants to know why Aldo is always being mysterious. Aldo says not so, just working. He has closed his laptop. Jeronimo wants to know why he kept Vicky out so late, and Aldo tells him he and Vicky are just good friends, like to hang out, no worries. Jeronimo is so not down with that.
Frigid is at the Torrelanda house and the phone is for Pato, and Gennaro gives Pato his earpiece. Max is just calling Pato to tell him that his Mama Rosa is in good hands, and Pato wants to know if she knows about Rod and Luci being married. Max tells him she doesn't know. (Ruh Roh, Frigid heard that convo between Rod and Pato, she is going to get that pie cart rolling jus' sayin).
Rod is at the office, and runs into Oscar, Gabe and Marcos and he tells them he is very happy. He tells them he is living at his apartment and Luci is at Vio's till the church wedding. They are ribbing him bout that. Pato calls and wants to know when he will be at the church with Luci.
Jeronmio comes to Max's office and wants to talk to Max. It's about Vicky. Max has a sick look on his face. Is he about to be found out, Just wait. Jeronimo wants to talk to Max about ALDO and Vicky, Max looks muy (Very) releived. Jeronimo doesn't like Vicky keeping company with Aldo, there's a social difference. Max is pithed. Ruh roh. He will speak to Aldo about this personally.
Rod has come for Luci so they can meet with Padre Honesto. Marcial and Serena are still there and when Rod and Luci have gone, Marcial tells Vio he wants to be a novio to Vio. Vio is very happy, is this like a promise ring type of thing, like pre-engagement? Anyhow, Luci and Rod are on their way to Padre Honesto, and Rod is again promising Luci, noone and nothing will ever seperate them. That piecart is coming, jus' sayin.' Luci is nervous.
Oscar and Max are talking about Rosa. Max tells Oscar she is better off in the hospital and will be much calmer there, but then Claudio showed up and Max tells him he didn't like it. He tells Oscar, Claudio came to visit Rosa but he didn't see her cause she was undergoing tests. Max says he is going to the hospital wants to meet with Aldo tout de suite.
Hospital, D.F.
Rod has just told Max he is married to Luci and Mati is in the room too. Rod is very happy. Max says he wants to be sure that Luci is the love of Rod's life. Rod assures him she is. Max then says that a happy marriage is just an illusion. Rod wants to know if he is talking about his Mama and Papa's marriage? Max tells Rod, Rosa is the love of his life, she is very strong, but needs peace and serenity now! um, no, quiet and when she finds out Rod married Luci there will be hell, I mean she won't be happy. He tells Rod, prepare for your church wedding, don't mention the civil wedding or any wedding at all to your Mama. Mati is giving Max the stinkeye. Bout this time the nurse is bringing Rosa back and she sees her little Roddy and she is very happy to see her hijo (son). She hugs him and cries. Rod is now telling his Mama Rosa, that yes he went looking for Luci and is in love with her. She isn't happy, he gets Hanna and Melissa who have come by, to tell them Mama Rosa doesn't know about his marriage and not to let her know. Rod is leaving and he tells them he is going to work and then being with Luci later, Mama Rosa so not pleased. Hanna is now talking to Rosa, she wants Rosa to see that Rod is very in love with Luci. She tells her Mama that Luci is a very classy lady,and reminds her of the Torreslanda party, when Luci was all dressed up. She helped Pato on his road to recovery, she is very smart and only worked as a maid cause she had to. They all love her, why can't Mama Rosa? Rod adores Luci and she is very beautiful. All Mama Rosa says is, she is worried about Rod and doesn't want to talk about Luci. Hanna tells her Mama she wants her to get better, to get rest so she can come home and that she loves her Mama. She hugs her (This is the first time Mama Rosa has shown any affection for Hanna, she actually let her talk and allowed Hanna to hold her hand and kiss her, amazing). Aldo and Melissa are at the hospital too,and Aldo wants to know why Melissa is defending disadvantaged children. She tells Aldo they have noone else to defend them, and she wants to do that. Hanna comes out and tells them her Mama is asleep. Aldo goes in anyway, leaves her a single rose and a note, I didn't see what it said, so if anyone knows please comment. While Aldo is with her, Hanna and Melissa say that it would be better if Rosa knew the whole marriage thing. Aldo comes out and Boris comes. Boris invites them to his upcoming birthday party, Melissa says she'll come, but Aldo doesn't know if he will. Melissa goes in to see her Tia Rosa. Hanna tells Boris her mama is resting and Boris wants to talk about Lula, but Hanna doesn't. Boris wants to talk to her Papa Max to see if he will allow her to come to his party.
Luci and Hot Bod Rod have taken a little sideways journey and are having some lunch. He wants to take her shopping for new clothes, shoes, whatever she wants, he wants her to be stylish (Ruh Roh, Note to Rod: You can take the girl out of Het Het, but you can't take the Het Het out of the girl). She assures Rod she doesn't need anything and that she has what she needs. Rod says that Melissa will go with her. Luci says she would also like to see Pato. Then she asks Rod, why he didn't tell her that Rosa was in the hospital? He says he just found out himself not long ago.
Het Het:
Don A tells La Lucita he is very nervous about Lic Barrerra. She wants a night of amor (oh, this should be fun) from Don A to hold her tongue. He doesn't want her to say anythink to anyone about Paz's house. Don A and La Lucita have a meeting with Lic Barrerra. He tells Lic Barrerra there was a misunderstanding and here are the orginal deeds for the land and house. La Lucita tells Lic Barrerra that Don A is such a gentleman, and she needed a place to stay and Don A "lent" her the use of the house. Lic Barrerra takes the deeds and goes. La Lucita says memba I get a night of lurrrvvve for this, Ha! (Thanks Vivi).
Paz is back with Magda and Paz is pithed cause Luci and Rod, did, you know. Magda is telling her to let it go. She also tells Magda, that if Rosa causes any trouble for Luci, she will tell the truth, the whole truth,and nothing but the truth. Lic Barrerra drops by Magda and Paz's and he has, are you ready, the orginal deeds to the land and house. He tells them he told Don A he would go to the carcel if he didn't turn them over. He lets the ladies know, if they have any trouble with Don A to give him a ringy dingy in the D.F. They thank him and tell him to thank Claudio for all they have done for them. Paz is happy to have her land and house back. She is over the moon.

(Inmundo and Quike arrive, not exactly in mood for joining a tea party)… Inmu wants to talk to Fina alone… she summons him to her office/study. .. what happened to you? … don’t fake it, my friendship with Augie was ruined because you butt-ed in my business… you deserve it for having boinked his wife, don’t you think?... maybe that is the same way you felt about your own husband and her(Carmeany), then you want to be my wife’s friend. I don’t appreciate you wanting to befriend my family and then backstabbing them. Neither you or Guido had reason to fire Kike. He won’t accept his severance pay. I will sue your rear end instead. … jaja! those lawsuits take long and are expensive. I would suggest you accept that money… I know my surname is not as powerful as yours, but what good is yours to you Alfie? My family has been able to remain together, how about yours? The butchery locale is ready for opening. Looks pretty impressive from outside. Seems Gael and Dam have been doing volunteer work there. Gael with ponytail and all. White tees get a bit dirty when you do hard work, don’t they?.. Gael and Dam say they are both doing it for Dolores, they both care about her very much. But hurry up and get ready for the wedding… Horacio leaves, Gael asks Dam if Augie gave him an answer yet… not yet… if he is still giving you the runaround, I don’t think he will want you to be his son in law, you better get used to the idea he won’t let you marry Elisa.

Tonita says maybe if you had been invited to the wedding and you saw her get married, I would then get back the man I married…. I promise you there is no man who loves her as much as him… of course, ME!! her dad! (turns to Elisa… and audience wonders how long this one moment will last) Noone will love you like me… (As he leaves to get the car ready Elisa tries to smile but she feels like crying.. oh-no girl, spare me and spare Lolita please!!)… So glad for you that your dad has changed so much, reminds me of when you were little and he was so nice with you… it seems he is still making a huge effort to behave this way with me… he loves you… yes, and the most important part is that I got him back, and I won’t lose him again for anything in the world. (and some day you will question yourself as to whether it was all worth it… NOT!!)
At deck chapel, Padre is doing the last touches to the flowers… Alfie comes in. Loopy surprised to see her… Its been weeks since Dam left the hacienda, and he has not come by or tried to contact me. How is my son? .. / Not sure what you want me to say. Dam is at peace away from you. / Doesn’t he ask about his mother?? about my health? / he knows you are ok. / no I am not ok God Darn it!! The cardiologist said my b. p. is worse everyday. I pray God will let me live until Dam reconsiders and returns home to me. / when are you going to leave your pride/arrogance (soberbia) aside? It is not Dam but YOU who have to recognize all the mistakes you yourself have made, against your own son! / (enough!.. she runs out, not really wanting to hear her own conscience)

Carmina comes in, tries to mudd-in Lolita’s grand day.. offers her faked greeting/congratulations… Lolita fires back; since you never made it to the alter with Augie, who knows how you are feeling right about now… don’t worry, I don’t envy you, all that ceremony stuff is not my style. You will marry the man you really deserve. (ouch!! We all know the double/triple/quad meaning of that) And well, lets go… Whoa there!! of course not, you are not invited, you are not catholic, what would you go there for??… what do you mean what am I coming for? you think I will try to ruin your day? At café/Rincon cerca del cielo, Dam, Brau and Gael are chatting at table, Brau agrees with Gael that Augie does not seem willing to hand over Elisa. Brau admits that he would like to be able to take the woman he loves and run away with her. Dam and Gael ask him to get serious, Brau can’t abandon his family like Dam’s dad did. Brau says now he understands Don Rosie, he did have co___es. Unlike me, I could not do that.
The waiter comes and brings something, sorry I missed who he was talking to when he said (they left this for you!) Gael miffed so it must have been something for Dam.

Back at Castigo cabins… Carmina touching-up (ok, putting makeup on, stop thinking trashy on me now) to go to the wedding. Augie comes to ask why go to the wedding. She wants to attend to make it appear they are a stable marriage (WHO THE HECK ARE THEY KIDDIN??). … no sh__, people would understand if you don’t go. They know you are not catholic. Everyone knows you don’t like Lolita. Noone would miss you. stop the hypocrisy… hypocrisy? What is it called what you are doing with Elisa? You are playing the loving dad with her but we know you don’t love her. She is the bastard child of Rosie’s.. (he gets miffed and leaves)
At church gate, Gabin and Horacio.. with that look people would think you are decent and not the filth you are. What would people say if the Campeche police came looking for you? instead of wedding bells you would hear the sirens of the cops coming after you… it is not good for you to talk, I would take you down with me… I am not a runaway like you… you know what I mean, that woman lost her life because you ordered me to do a job… I did not order anything, you murdered Blanca. Careful how you talk to me. I own you. If you don’t want to end up locked during your honeymoon, let me remind you, you work for me!
Just then, Loopy comes to rescue Hora… he can read Gabino’s presence as nothing good. Loopy tells Gab ‘We have to talk… SERIOUSLY.
Lolita comes in in Augie’s pickup with Lucio and Elisa. Augie and Lucio leave Lolita and Elisa in truck while they check that Loopy has everything ready. Brau comes by to Lolita’s window in the truck. Brau congrats Lolita on how pretty she is. “Horacio is taking a great woman, you don’t know how much I envy him. Years ago I would have been the man marrying you.” … you left me and you forgot me… “no, I never forgot you. in all these years not a night has gone by in which I did not think of you, remembered the taste of your lips, the smell of your skin. I still love you. (awkward look on Lolita’s face)

Refugio Para el Amor #46-47 Wed 6/27/12 Rosa Gets a Truth Bomb and Rod Gets Lucky (3 Times)
It's a three-peat for me, and for Rod and Luci tonight. Arranged by characters and location, with fewer details than my usual long-winded style. Enjoy!
The Old
When we last left our hero and heroine, they were heating up
an entire river with their kisses and caresses. But, we’ll come back to them
later…
Rosa Has a Heart? Who
Knew?!
-Estella reveals to Rosa that Luci left Het Het after her
father died, to help her mama and younger brother financially, and to get away
from some man who was bothering her. Estella doesn’t know Luci’s dad’s name,
but she knows her mother in Paz Flores, and Luci’s full name is Luciana JACINTO
FLORES. This news is like a bomb going off in Rosa’s demented brain. She
collapses against a bureau, knocking over her headache pills and her cup of tea,
and collapses to the floor.
-At the hospital, Rosa gets way more love and concern than
she deserves. Pato, in particular, is affected by her illness. He has Mati put
Rosa’s hand in his, and he begs her to be strong while fighting back tears. Max
and Hannah speak to the doctor who tells them Rosa’s blood pressure dropped a
lot, and they are bringing in a cardiologist because they think she may have a
heart issue. (I’d say!)
-Gala and Julie want the Torreslandas to get Rod back to
D.F. right away, to be with his mama of course. Max doesn’t seem to see the
urgency, and Hannah also tells Rod not to rush when she speaks to him on the
phone later. He’s concerned about his mother, but he and Luci already planned on coming back to
D.F. the next day.
-Rosa gives Mati the stink eye in the hospital and tells her
she will talk to her tomorrow. She now knows Mati hid Luci’s true identity from
her.
Rod and Luci’s Awesome
Adventures in Baby Making
-When we come back to our couple, they are laying side by
side on the bank of the river, looking wet and disheveled, but still dressed
except for Rod’s shirt and Luci’s belt. But Luci is looking awfully guilty and
saying they shouldn’t have done it, and Rod is looking really happy and is very
proud that now Luci is not only his wife, but also his woman (mujer). We know
what *that* means, but your recapper is scratching her head and wondering if it
was immaculate consummation and how Rod managed it with his wet chinos still
on. Luci is also embarrassed that someone might have seen them. Rod can’t stop
grinning long enough to be concerned about it. He carves a heart with their
initials into a nearby tree to memorialize the place where they consummated
their love for the first time. They then head back to the hotel to shower and
change out of their wet, dirty clothes.
-Rod and Luci continue their evening strolling through the
town, eating ice cream, and kissing. Rod tells Luci they are returning to D.F.
the next day so that they can get begin planning the Church wedding right away.
She is sad that their wonderful trip will end so soon. He promises to take her
traveling around the world and to make love to her in each place they visit.
-In their separate hotel rooms, Luci and Rod are dealing
with various degrees of guilt. Luci’s is more directly tied to her religious
beliefs. She speaks to La Virgen and agonizes because she wanted her and God’s
blessing of their marriage before she and Rod did the deed. She flashes back to
the encounter on the riverbank and we see her and Rod passionately kissing, and
then him beginning to take off her clothes. Her guilty feelings interrupt these
lusty thoughts, so we don’t see any more, but now we can safely assume it
wasn’t immaculate consummation and that clothing was actually removed.
-Rod feels guilt about breaking his promise to Paz, but he
can’t stop grinning long enough to really feel *that* bad about it. Hannah
calls and gives Rod the news about Rosa, but she’s more excited to hear about
him and Luci. She wants to speak to Luci and is shocked to find out they are in
separate rooms and keeping things PG until the Church wedding. Hannah tells him
to skip the PG and go straight for the R rating. She wants them to get busy
making a little Rod or a little Luci, right now.
-After another romantic dinner, Rod and Luci return to the hotel
that evening and do their usual dance outside of Luci’s room as Rod opens her
door. Will they, or won’t they? Luci
says good night. “Hasta mañana.” Rod asks if she’s sure about the until tomorrow
part. The look in her eyes says she’s not. He then sweeps her up into his arms,
takes her into her room, and puts her down gently beside the bed. Rod then asks, “Do you want me to go? Just ask
me to.” Her response: “Stay.” (Quedate) Woohoo!!! We actually see some of the
clothes come off this time.
Patote and Marianita
-Pato and Marianita chat and bond during her various periods
of exile onto the lawn. She calls him Patote. He tells her he fell and that’s
how he ended up in the chair. She tells him about a time she disobeyed her mama
and fell, and shows him her scar. A very cute scene.
-Then they touch on even more painful subjects- her missing
her mom who has gone away to find work; and whether or not he’ll walk again. She
considers Ariche and Pato to be her friends.
-Estella interrupts this cute bonding to tell Pato about his
sick mama.
-Later that night, Pato asks Mati more about the situation
with Estella, her daughter Ofelia, and Marianita. He’s concerned about
Marianita. Mati says they can only hope for a happy ending for Ofelia. Pato
says they all wish for happy endings. He wonders if Luci will be happy ever
after with Rod. He dreams of Luci kissing and smiling happily with Rod.
Aldo-Vicky-Max—An
Incestuous Love Triangle
-Max gives Aldo a new assignment. When Genaro, the driver,
is busy taking others around, namely Pato whom he wants to start coming to the
office, he wants Aldo to pick up and drop off Hannah. (I see more opportunities
for a Hannah/Lorenzo meet up.) They get the call about Rosa being sick and Max
rushes out. Aldo takes the opportunity to try to hack into Max’s computer. He
doesn’t have enough time and nearly gets caught red handed by Max who returns
for his cell phone. The hacking will have to wait for another day.
-Aldo takes advantage of Tio Max being at the hospital to
visit Vicky and get her to go out with him. She tries to beg off, but Aldo is
determined and comes to her door to ask Don Jero if he can take her out. After
a lecture about respecting her and bringing her home on time, Don Jero agrees.
Despite her protests, Vicky seems pleased about it. She asks Aldo what made
Rosa sick, and Aldo punks her by telling her Rosa found out she and Max are
lovers. Major cara impactada de Vicky. “Qué!”
-Aldo lets Vicky off the hook and tells her Rosa’s
hospitalization isn’t her fault, but says that Max’s relationship with a girl
who could be his daughter is disgusting. Vicky wants him to butt out of her
biz. He tells her to turn off her phone if her Osito calls and lie to him about
where she was; he then convinces her to go out with him that night, instead of
waiting around for her Osito.
-Outside of Inferno, Aldo hangs up Vicky’s phone on Osito
when he calls. Max is not a happy camper.
-When he drops her off at home, Vicky explains again to Aldo
that they can’t be novios because she is FAITHFUL to Max. Considering that his
uncle Max is being UN-faithful to his tia with Vicky, Aldo scoffs at that. He
wants Vicky to be happy. She wants to
know why he doesn’t go after all the other available girls out there. He shouts
to all the neighbors that he’s in love with her, so she’s forced to shut him up
by tackling him with kisses. They collapse to the ground in a fit of giggles.
What the Kids Are Up
To
-Boris tries to get Lula to agree to come to his b-day party
at the lake house. If she won’t go, Hannah won’t go. Lula refuses to go. Too
bad, so sad for you Boris.
Het Het Happenings
-Lic. Barrera and Magda are on a mission to get Paz’s
properties back. They meet with Luchita, La Gorda, and get her to confront Don
Aquiles about selling her property that wasn’t his. She paid him half the cost
of the house already. Aquiles at first denies that he intends to sell the
property. He just wants Luci to negotiate with him. But he eventually admits
the truth and agrees to give Luchita back her money.
-Barrera surprises me by turning down a big old bribe from
Aquiles. He’s there to get justice on behalf of his client Luciana Jacinto
Flores! They're going to take him to court for wrongful eviction and fraud.
-Don Aquiles can’t believe his Palomita has become so horrid
and done something like this to him. She’s changed. Now he vows to get revenge
on her. But he still can’t hate his Palomita who stabbed him in the back; he
loves her.
-Magda tells Paz to prepare herself, because now that he’s
lost control of her properties, Don Aquiles will surely come looking for
trouble.
-Fabian comes back to town. His journey to the States was
short lived because the coyote (people smuggler) dumped him and three other
folks who had paid him, in the middle of the sierra. Now all his savings are
gone. Don Serapio is just happy that he came back alive and in one piece.
Lorenzo calls to send the message about his promotion and convinces Fabian to
return to D.F. to find work.
Violeta’s Mystery Man
and El Inferno
-Vio and Marcial cuddle on her couch. He will accompany her
to el Inferno that evening, but then he’s leaving on his work trip. He seems a
little too interested in finding out that Lorenzo is now working in the casino,
and therefore had to leave for work earlier than Vio. He asks about the
demanding bosses. Vio is sure Lorenzo is clever enough to handle himself. He
then asks how much the casino makes on a good night. She teases that he wants
to open up his own club, like Aldo. He tries to play his questions off, but Vio
looks like she’s beginning to have her own questions.
-Violeta/Coral really needs a new song. I think the guys
there come to see her do her little shimmy instead of sing. Serena comes to El
Inferno wearing her nurse’s uniform. If Inferno were a
strip club, this could work. Ivan thinks her uniform is making the customers
nervous so he tells her to go home. She’ll start the next night.
-Ivan tells Vio that men don’t come to Inferno looking for
wives, so don’t count on anything serious from Marcial.
-Lorenzo is wearing a suit for his first night of work as a
host in the casino. He and Aldo chat and make plans for another hacking attempt
soon. Lastra watches from the security cameras and wonders what those two are
up to. The Silent Partner calls Lastra about business and then we see both he
and Max opening up the same balance sheet. If there was any doubt before, now
we know for sure the identity of the silent partner.
Gala and Julie
- Julie thinks it’s too much of a coincidence that Luci
knows Claudio Linares. She is sure that he and Luci made a plan to get Luci
into the Torreslanda house to get back at the family. It’s a plot! They can’t
wait to reveal to the family that they had a Linares plotter in their midst.
-Gala notes that Rosalena hates Luci so much, it seems like SHE’s
the one who got dumped at the altar. Gala offers to pay Lastra for the photos
with her own money, but Julie is determined to squeeze money out of Rosa. They
want to get the old guy in Het Het (Aquiles) to say he had something going with
Luci.
-Dammit, I thought Gala said she was done with the tears,
but there she is again, in her bathrobe in the middle of the night, bawling and
whining about Luci stealing Rod from her. “Luci doesn’t know the hell that
awaits her.” Yada, yada, yada.
Post Coital Blues and
Olympic Worthy Anvil Baiting
- Luci is wrapped in Rod’s arms and is worried thinking back
to Sabina’s warnings about all those tears she’ll shed. Rod baits some more
anvils and says that nothing and no one can succeed against true love. Luci
says she feels so much love for him, that it doesn’t even fit within her soul.
Don’t worry your pretty little head, says Rod. Nothing with separate us, ever.
-Luci leaves the bed to sit on the shag rug in front of the
fireplace, and has a little silent time with God and the Virgen. Rod wakes and
comes to her. He knows she feels guilty about not waiting, but he knows God is
with them and they have his blessing. Rod will love her his whole life. They
put the shag rug to good use.
-A few more anvil baiting phrases exchanged by our couple: Luci:
“If the world ended tomorrow, I would thank God for the time that I’ve spent
with you. I love you.” Rod: “This is nothing compared to the happiness that
awaits us.”
-Rod calls the big house as he and Luci drive back to D.F. He
speaks with Pato, then Luci gets on the phone with him. Luci has Pato close his
eyes and imagine her giving him a big hug. He images standing up from his
wheelchair and encircling her in an embrace and twirling her. (I bet Brandon
Peniche was happy to get to stand up for a few minutes to film that scene.)
-Rod tells Luci that they will stop in and see Padre Honesto
first thing when they get to the city. Time to arrange that Church wedding!
Rosa Loses Her Sh!t
-Rosa admits to Connie what she learned--that Luci is the
daughter of Claudio and Aurora!
-Rosa then backtracks and tries to convince herself that
there is a snowball’s chance in hell that Luci is Aurora’s child, since she
still doesn’t know her father’s name. Connie tells her to stop trying to fool
herself. “Now is the time; you have no other choice. It’s your obligation to
tell the truth. Luci is not alone. She has Paz who will defend her when she
finds out everything.” Basically, the jig
is up Rosa.
-Rosa begs Connie to help her. (She’s not speaking about
mental help, but she should be.) She pulls the sister card—it’s Connie’s
obligation as her sister to help her keep Luci and Rod apart. Connie says she
helped her enough by keeping this secret all these years. She’s had enough of
that. “Luciana is the woman your son loves.” Claudio calls Connie and Rosa
looks like she’s going to have a heart attack for realz.
-Rosa freaks out that Claudio already knows. She loses her
sh!t and jumps from the bed screaming that Rod and Luci being together is a
SIN! Luciana is the daughter of Aurora and Maximino! Connie can’t believe that’s
true, but Rosa swears Max and Aurora deceived her right under her nose. That’s
why she gave that baby away. She begs Connie to get her out of the hospital. Luckily,
the nurse comes in and offers drugs to calm her down. Thank God they take
effect quickly. I think I need some of that after this scene.
-Rosa dreams of Aurora and wakes in a panic. Connie suggests
a paternity test for Luci, since they can do that these days. Rosa doesn’t want
the test since then the family would find out her secret. Connie tries to calm
her down. Poor Connie.
-Connie decides to postpone her return to her home, considering
that her sister is one screaming fit away from the nut house. Oscar is very
happy with this news.
-Mati comes to visit Rosa in the hospital the next day,
ready to face Rosa’s firing squad of questions and accusations. “Now you and I
are going to talk Matilde.” Uh oh.
Avances: Rosa screams at Mati that Luci and Rod are
half siblings, just as Max walks into her hospital room. Rosa attacks Max, while
accusing him of having an affair with Aurora.

Abismo de pasión #75 6/26/12: The Haunting of Horacio and a REALLY Stupid Plot Twist
Deep In The Mind of Horacio, Not Seen On Your TV Screen
True. There are many mysteries to be solved in La Ermita de Isabella, Merida, Yucatan. There are mysteries that I know about, and secrets that I do not know. But secrets accrete to me; it has always been like that. Many secrets predate my arrival in this ancient village, now an enclave inside the City of Merida. Yesterday, you may have noticed a list of secrets to be revealed in La Ermita, posted by Anon 207, a regular contributor to the Pasion thread. It was very thorough; Anon 207 is good at summarizing such things. For now, I am sick of my own secrets and it is starting to show in my health. I am excessively nervous, yes, nervous as a convent raised nun. I am more sensitive than you might think.
Is it true that my conversations with you are completely confidential? Yes? Well, I go on.
The problem is I have never been either bad enough or good enough to prosper in life, and those who tend to recognize such things can pick me out of a crowd at fifty paces. I am a weak man, but I have a capacity to recognize and appreciate pure good. This is what happened when I saw my Lolita. Ah, Lolita. The purest, most good, best woman in the world. I thought when I saw her in the market, right after I came to La Ermitat to make a clean start, “A woman like that could make a man change. She could make him walk the straight and narrow”. And then she smiled at me. I would carry her milk forever. Now we are to be engaged. She knows none of my secrets. It must stay that way
The secrets I have with her employer—and now mine—Carmina, are quite damaging. Carmina is a bad, bad woman, pure and simple. She has some hold over Gabino, once my childhood friend—now just another guy with whom I have done deeds best left unspoken. There are quite a few of those guys out there in the world.
But here in La Ermita, there is only Gabino. Carmina found out about the arson at Don Lucio’s shop. She knows about Gabinos’ involvement and mine and first she got us to hijack some mail truck and exchange one letter for another. I have no idea what THAT was all about. I do not like how she treat Lolita, but there is not much I can do about that now, and most recently she had me clean out some house in the village and dump its contents one town away. Perhaps there will be a way to deal with Carmina one day, but not now.
Today I was introduced to the town Priest and the Curandera when they came to bless the location of our new Butcher Shop. Don Lucio came to let us in. I was very uncomfortable with the whole thing, but I shook his and the priest’s hand. With my left hand. Why the left? I don’t know. It was the only hand available. When we went inside the whole place was extremely cold. This seems highly unlikely in Merida, because they have no refrigeration units there as yet, but I swear it was as cold as a walk-in freezer. Don Lucio became upset while we were there. I began to really twitch. You should have seen me then!
True, I twitch in the face even when I speak of the arson at Don Lucio’s shop. You are very observant. As I said I am very nervous these days. Am I anxious? Yes, I suppose, I could be called anxious. I do not sleep well. My new hobby takes up so much of my time, but it is cheap and allows me to save all of my money to open the carneceria at Don Lucio’s place.
When Lolita and I are married, we will make a go of, it, I tell you. My Dad did, for many years. Where was that? In a village, far away from here. In what part of the country? North. North of here. Yes, north of here and west. The name of the town? It doesn’t matter, does it? I have not been there in 20 years; I have nothing to do with it anymore. No, no, I have no living family. Ah, am I twitching again? My nerves, my nerves, my horrible nerves.
Shall I tell you of my hobby? Yes, it does occupy a fair amount of my mind. I have taken up…sewing. It is actually a very soothing occupation. Fabric and thread are cheap and I became interested in it right after, well, right after the incident at Don Lucio’s. You won’t credit it, but one day, this Abuela came to me in a dream and told me that I had to learn to sew! I sew by hand for right now, because Abuela Bee, I call her Abuela Bee, says it is best to start at the beginning. My hands are large and clumsy for such work but she insists that I persist. I must learn, she says. I owe it to her. I have begun to dream of clothes I can make for Lolita! Wonderful designs, for the lovely Delores. Did you know the library has many free books on sewing. I am amazed at how much there is to know. Abuela Bee says that I must apply myself. Yes, yes, I used to just see her in my dreams but now she come around all the time. She is very soothing. I am less nervous when she is around. Doctora, are there drugs I should be taking to calm my poor nerves?...Horacio looks a bit wildly around the psychiatrist’s office.

Alfonsisna’s Big Ol’ Gas Guzzling SUV, Speeding To Merida Airport
· In the car on the way to the Merida airport, Alfonsina Arango continues her blackmail of Florencia Landuchi.
· If Flo doesn’t have a kid called Arango, then Fina will call in Pappa Guido Landucci’s Great Big Loan. What a spider!
· It is clear that she knows that she might have to resort to nefarious means to get Flo inseminated with said grandchild because she orders her driver to take a detour by a fertility clinic on her way home to La Ermita. She is taking no chances with this one. I wonder if Alfonsina is going to get to look though a book to pick out the baby daddy. She is going to have to go a long way to find a baby daddy up to the caliber of her son. Handsome, bright, seems to have a heart, great bod—good luck with this one Alfie.

· Doctor Tovar is still in bed after being attacked last night by an all-too--cheerful Augusto Castanon.
· Let me see if I have got this straight. Augusto and Carmina host a dinner party, Begonia and Edmundo were the guests. Uninvited guest Alfonsina showed up and spilled the beans about Edmundo and Carmina’s short and unhappy affair to Augusto. Augusto invited Edmundo out to the Cantina for after dinner drinks and beats the living crap out of his dinner guest. Once again, I am not feeling kindly disposed toward ‘Gusto Catfood. I am not amused by the very good job that the Abismo make-up department is doing of replicating facial wounds on Doc Tovar’s broken face.
· Carmina comes over to the Tovar’s house and sweetly asks Begonia if she could have just a few words with Edmundo. Begonia says yes.
· Carmina goes to Edmundo’s room and start’s a huge fight…she thinks he has been blabbing her secrets everywhere.
· Enrique comes in to tell his Dad he just got fired from the procesadora. I guess that is good. He’ll have more time to impregnate Flo so she can claim to be pregnant by Dam-stupid-if-he-believes-it. Begonia knows that Alfonsina is behind this. No sh!# Sherlock! In fairness, I must say that Begonia looks lovely today. She is doing such a nice job at rehab; do we have to take her out at the knees with the Carmina is the lover thing? Gawd. I want to see this Bumble reformed and working on Team Elisa and Dam.
Elisa and Augusto Go For A Ride to Stef’s Old Lands
· Augusto makes Elisa a proposition she doesn’t refuse; will she leave La Ermiat forever with him and start over somewhere else? He wants to get his daughter back. Lolita is getting married and he wants to start over as a family without Carmina. Yes, Elisa will go. No she will not tell anybody. They will go after Delores’ wedding.
· Huh? They went round about Damian. She needs to tell him What did they finally come up with? Arghhh. Recapper scream of “No!” echoes all the way to D.F….
Procesadora
· Paolo starts stalking his brother at the procesadora with a smarmy, ” I need to talk to you, brother,” ploy. He lays it on thick with the old, “You are like a father to me routine. Guido to gullible and good looks to be buying it hook line a sinker. Somebody start a rescue Guido club. The man needs a lifeline and QUICK!
· Maru looks lovely in bright pink today.
Don Lucio and Blanca’s Former Dress Shop
· Horacio and Delores meet at Blanca and Lucio’s old dress shop for a blessing of the space. Horacio looks very anxious and is wringing his hands at the beginning of the scene. Don Lucio, there to open the former shop, is formally introduced to Horacio for the first time. Lucio reminds all that he met Horacio earlier when Horacio came to get his horse but that he is happy to meet Delores’s fiancée, who, of course, must be a good man. The scary woo-oooo mezzo-sopranos begin to sing above the action.
· Padre Lupe walks up to the shop front speaking absurdly of his delay by TRAFFIC. What? Lupe? I can see the church across the street? Lupe has the horse-bit hat twisted in one hand and a dashing medium-green business blessing stole over his shoulder. He is handsome as ever.
At the New Greenhouses
· Gael and Damian have a conversation about Damian quitting work a little early to go talk to Don ‘Gusto Catfood. Gael chides Damian for not working hard enough. These greenhouses are now his only Patrimony, blah, blah, blah. Mostly we look at the Zepeda and Tacher, shirtless, in jeans, in the sandy scrub, under the Yucatan sky. I’ll give them 25 minutes or so to stop that. Oh, dialogue? What dialogue? Ah, no meaningful dialogue, but they each picked up a large, burlap bag of something that was purporting to be habanero pepper starts and threw it over their shirtless bodies and walked away from the camera. This was not a bad scene.
At Don Lucio and Blanca’s Former Dress Shop
· Inside at the former Dress Shop, Padre Lupe makes his way around the premises with the tools of his trade, the censor, the holy water, prayers for peace and prosperity. Lucio is silent, hat in hand as Lupe finished his business. Horacio hangs his head in a way that could be taken as respectful or guilty. A tear fall down his cheek. Lolita holds tightly to Horacio’s arm.
· Just as Lupe is finishing up, in walks Doña Ramona, Curandera Extraordinaire. Lolita has not failed to hedge her bets but Padre Lupe is not upset. He has the utmost respect for Doña Ramona and her methods. Ramona waves a sheaf of no-doubt powerfully cleansing herbs about as she shoots a dark glance at Horacio.
· Horacio is acting very nervous indeed. He is holding his head in his hands and would probably rock if he were sitting in a chair. Ramona starts mumbling like the Delphic Oracle and pointing at Horacio. Ominous music plays as Ramona speaks of weird energy, hidden things, mysteries, and secrets. Lolita looks alarmed, as well she should.
Blue House of Shame
· Ingrid and Gabino discuss her worries about Kenia’s disappearance. Right now, Ingrid seems concerned that Kenia is making an odd move. But while Ingrid has no motherly instincts she has a nose for trouble. Kenia’s behavior may upset her plans.
Former Dress Shop, Now Newly Blessed Butcher Shop, Yuk
· Horacio and Lolita face off against an upset Ramona who is wailing about hidden secrets. Horacio leaves by himself.
Augusto Was Nice To Elisa For Five Minutes
· Gael rides up to Augusto who tells him, apropos of absolutely nothing,
· “Right now Gael, the most important thing for me is the happiness of Elisa.”
· Augusto goes over to visit Lucio. Augusto talks about wanting the happiness of Elisa more than anything. He also insists that Elisa is not his daughter, she is Rosendo’s. There are many things he does not know; but he knows this.
· Lucio asks why he is determined to leave the town with Elisa. Because it will keep him from having to kill Damian. Because nothing less than death will separate those two and they are both the children of Rosendo Arango.
· Wrong again, Catfood.
· Augusto is truly the FOOL in this deck of cards, poor bastard.
o A father when he thinks he isn’t.
o Not a father when he thinks he is.
o Not a cuckold when he thinks he is one.
o A cuckold when he thinks he is not.
o Othello to Desdemona.
o A proud idiot.
o The guy is a train wreck, violent, sentimental, mean and very destructive, but you gotta know that Carmina Bouvier has REALLY done him wrong with her lies about Estefania.
Casa Castañon
· Elisa is happy about the five minutes her dad was nice to her. She seems elated about the idea going away with her dad. As long as it is after Lolita’s wedding. WHAAT IS SHE THINKING??? She tells Lolita who is happy for her.
· But, the Tiny Brown Recluse Carmina is waiting and she breaks into their happy time with, “Elisa, your Father does not love you. It is not possible.”
· Elisa responds with, “Ay, Tia. Truly you will take any opportunity to ruin a happy moment. “
· Lolita tells Guppy Lips to scram (thanks Sara!) and hurries Elisa out of the kitchen. I think Carmina wants to drop the “You are sibs,” bomb on Elisa, herself, but she didn’t get a chance this time.
· Elisa is worried about how Damian’s conversation has gone with her Dad.
· Elisa and Lolita talk about her upcoming wedding.
· Master Bedroom
· Carmina and Augusto spat yet again.
· Carmina confesses her brief fling with Edmundo.
· Augusto says that nothing happened between that Kenia and himself, partly because of the respect he had for his marriage vows to Carmina and partly because of Estafania. I guess we are not discussing Paolo here.
At Casa Arango
· Paolo continues to manipulate his brother. He wants his job back at the procesa dora.
· A disgusted looking Flo returns home with a triumphant Alfonsina. Now it looks like no one is headed for D.F.
Town Center, La Ermita
· Paloma and Gael meet up outside the Doctor’s office.
· They talk about THE RELATIONSHIP. Whatever.
Tomorrow
· With a little luck we will find out why Elisa is so stoopid. I know, because she really IS Augusto's daughter. Why in the name of I.M. Pei would she commit to run away with her Dad? Color me confused.
· It sure looks like Lolita is getting married to Horacio. She looks like a lovely bride.
