Amorcito Corazón Discussion #94-98 Aug 27-31
EWM continues to throw herself at Fer, who is horrified by her. She continues her crazy plans to harm Isa since her Fer plan failed. She gets more potion from the witch, puts it in Isa’s coffee and thankfully Zoe throws it out.
Zoe, always believing the worst in based on the traumatizing demise of her marriage, knows Fer reciprocates EWM’s feelings. She has lunch w/Lucia and is shocked about the latter’s return to the convent. Unfortunately they fight about Lucia’s decision. OK, I know Zoe had a bad marriage and is currently in a bad relationship but to listen to part of a conversation with a known bad guy and come away thinking the bad person is Fer. You know both your friend and Fer have problems every other day so do you really want to contribute to the next problem? She does confront Fer and they work things out but Zoe really needs to take every down about 1000.
Willy takes over Katrina’s business. Friends, even without rIcky and Horny gunning for him, this can end badly as Willy doesn’t seem to have business acumen. Add to this Moncho warning about putting the money in a safer place and Willy pooh, poohing the idea.
Beba and Gabino go to lunch; TNs often have the best food! They are still cute and I hope the writers don’t break them up. She finds out about the robbery at Horny’s and visits the witch. La bruga (btw, this is Horny not the true witch who is assisting EWM trying to kill our main couple) doubts the sincerity of her only friend’s concern.
rIcky slimes back into his mom, who foolishly believes her son has reformed. Naturally once at the house he sees where the money is hidden.
Sabrina gets EWM to hire her so her revenge plan, trying to seduce Fer, is set motion. My hope here is that EWM realizes her plan and takes Sabrina the traitor out w/her pharmacy.
Lucia comes to the office and Fer sees her monja vestments. Like Zoe, her uncle, and the mother superior, oh and Willy, he tries talk her out of it and she won’t listen. At this point the tonterias of Zoe and Lucia make Isa seem reasonable.

In San Francisco el Alto (aka, Het Het), the ladies and
Ariche have just excitedly received a package from Don Serapio via Procopio.
Luci opens it, reads the nice note, and unwraps the gift-- finding a lovely framed
picture of her and Rod from their civil wedding in Het Het. They look
incredibly happy and in love.
Luci is stunned. Ariche takes the photo and comments on how
beautiful she looks and asks if she remembers when they took this photo. Luci
stumbles off to her room and poor Ariche is worried that he said something

Abismo de pasión #116 8/24/12: When Little Men Stand Up, Big Men Will Always Listen!
Team Dam vs. Team Gall: Who's the Biggest User?
Team Sabrina vs. Team Paloma: Who Would Make the Best Unwilling/Unknowing Surrogate Mother for Florencia's Baby?
Team Lupe vs. Team Gabby: Who will make the better Grandfather?
Clinic Reception Desk: Paloma recalls the uncomfortable, zero-chemistry, love scene between she and Gall (Gall). Paloma tells Gall that they will not be seen or interrupted in the closet behind the beaded curtain. Gall begs her to let him go; he loves another woman. Paloma tells Gall that she can’t let him go because she loves him. Paloma will help him to understand that he doesn’t love Elisa as much as he loves her. Paloma drops her bloomers and orders him to leave if he doesn’t feel anything for her. Unfortunately, before the bloomers hit the floor, Little Gall had developed very strong feeling for Paloma. Gall’s heart says that he loves Elisa. His mind tells him to hit the pavement and never return, but Little Gall is standing firm; he refuses to leave. He wants to stay with the bloomers. Paloma’s daydreams are abruptly interrupted when Dr. Tovar, who has a business to run, enters the reception area. He wants to know when his next appointment will arrive. Dr. Tovar is very concerned about his marginal employee; she’s been extremely distracted lately. Paloma wants to ask him a question, but can’t bring herself to form the words. The doctor wants to know if she’s feeling bad or if she’s sick? She ends up telling him that it’s not important. A patient interrupts them.
Casa de Maru: It’s lunch time and Elisa has found Maru at her home. Elisa is very worried about Don Lucio’s sex-life. As far as she knows, he hasn’t had any freaky female companionship since Blanca fried died. He needs an experienced, worldly, slutty, hot-to-trot, older, woman like you, says Elisa to Maru. From various rumors that Elisa’s heard, Lucio likes to be handcuffed, called Padrino and spanked with a large wooden spoon. Maru doubts Lucio’s interested in her. Lucio hasn’t looked at Maru or called her in months. She says that Lucio has put a wall up between them. Elisa disagrees and tells Maru be patient with him. Elisa tells Maru that Blanca spoke well of her and liked her a lot. Blanca would be pleased that he is boinking Maru. Elisa tells Maru to fight for Lucio, if she loves him. Maru tells Elisa that Damien is depressed too. Elisa gets up to leave and asks Maru to think about what they’ve discussed.

Amor Bravío #15 (Uni 10) Fri 8/24/12 Confrontations for Camila With Mystery Man Dan and So Where's The Beef-cake Alonso
Capítulo 15
Lo del Pasado:
Dan’s snuck onto the grounds of Hacienda La Malquerida for a look-see. Camila has gone out onto the balcony for some much needed fresh air. Dan manages to stay hidden in the bushes and trees when Leoncio shows up with his shotgun, making the rounds. Alonso finally makes it home and enters the bedroom where Cami angrily confronts him for not telling her he’d stopped going to therapy. Ruh-Roh! Busted!! Lonnie goes ballistic cuz she’s been “checking up on him”. (Naw, his little woman’s just much smarter than he can give a female credit for, and she caught him in his crappy, lazy little lie!) Lon hops on the Excuse Express uhh-gain, moon-walking double-time as he “explains” how the doc said nothing’s wrong with him; that she is the only reason he can’t get any pump in his stump. Camila is just as furious and rather than try sleeping with the enemy, she leaves Alonso to snuggle with and growl at his pillow. (Break to a scene of the bulls. Chug a lug!)
Racing out across the grounds towards the guest house (?) Cami runs into Luzmaria who’s been making out with her high school hunkster, Paulo. Cam puts a stop to that just in time for Leoncio to come over and avoid his making a scene with his niece. (One man, once per night’s definitely enough, we agree!) Cam heads off. When Luzma tries to leave, though, Leoncio grabs her and threatens that she’d better not try putting one over on him (verme la cara) or to try using Sra. Camila to cover for her (como tapadera) or there’ll be Hell to pay.
Lo Del Nuevo:
Lonnie storms through the grounds after Cami. He bangs on the door and begs then for her to open the door and let them finish their conversation. Cam gives in. She’s tired, she screams, of the humiliations, the insinuations, the lies and the insults. “What’s next, eh?” He attempts to forcibly kiss and hug her to show her that he luhhhvs her, but she manages to slip out from under and push away from him. She can’t stand to have him touch her. There’s no love in this relationship, she screams back! He doesn’t make her feel a thing! There’s nothing to discuss, anyway, if he won’t see the shrink—that proves he doesn’t really love her! The irate little weasel demands to have her back in their bedroom, in their bed next to him by tomorrow morning when he wakes up. Ha! Think again, you ferret-faced, nibbling-nosed, nail-gnawing nudnik!! “—Get! Out! Get out of here before I say something I shouldn’t!! (Aw, go ahead! Let loose!) Eventually she manages to shove his bony little ass back out the door. (Whoo-ee! Viewerville is as exhausted as Camila after this scene!!) Her frustration and sense of being trapped is palpable as she bangs her fists against the door and fights the desire to pull her hair out by the roots. (It goes without saying that this is why Silvia Navarro is the best dramatic actress in Mexico!) Silent sobs rack her body and she slides slowly to the floor, shattered and drained.

Por ella soy Eva #28 8/24/12: Eva's crusade for proof
In my efforts to condense, I jumbled things up a bit; so some of this may be WAY out of order.
Mimi is selling Avon at Grupo Imperio. She asks the blue dresses about Adriano. They tell her he's okay, but he's nicer to younger women. She thinks he just hasn't met the likes of her yet! They compliment Mimi on looking good for her age and say Eva is well-preserved. Mimi asks them about Max Montes, her cousin Eva's second love.
Helena takes her mom to register at the Vocational School for Grownups.
Antonia tells Eva she thinks her husband is fooling around with Helena. Eva tells her to find more proof.

Refugio Para el Amor #99 Fri 8/24/12 Luci doubles her business revenue and the CL hearing begins with lots of animosity and one sickening dumb dude
RECAP BY MARTA IVETT
Lo Refrito:
Paz and Luci, have to thank God for each day.
Luci tells Paz today is the hearing between Don Max and my papa. I
want to pray for him.
The hearing begins, Max waltzes in very confident… Claudio walks
in, stops to look toward Max directly in the eyes, not quite angry but very
firm/serious.
Lo Nuevo:
Rod to Pato: today my dad will be able to prove Linares is a
felon. (how stoopid can he get?)
Judge begins the hearing requested by CL to reopen the case he was
sentenced to 20 yrs for.
CL will try to show his presumed innocence and get restitution for
damages.
CL says loudly he wants to show his innocence in front of justice
and society and to show that Max accused him of something he did not commit.
Rod comments to Pato that CL came with all his weapons to try to
demerit mi papa. Pato has a more clear and fair mindset, says CL spent 20 yrs
quiet and now is willing to sing it all now.
Judge says the statement CL made is very serious. IF his statement
is proven false, he could get a sentence of 6 mos to 3 yrs plus a fine for
repair of damages done by false accusation. (Max asks Oscar to take note of the
grounds for countersuit against CL).
We have a series of statements and accusations and objections
retained/rejected by judge.
Oscar has an opening statement. Their intent: to prove that the
sentencing of CL 20 yrs ago was fair and correct. (Rod again comments to
Pato that his dad has always been a fair and honest man…. Ehem! Excuse me while
I go barf in the hallway… talk about shallow headed)

Amor Bravío #14 (Uni 9) Thu 8/23/12 Amor (o al menos deseo) a primera vista
Dionisio says that last he heard, Daniel's wife was in a coma and in critical condition. Camila insists that Daniel's wife and child should receive the inheritance if he's not going to.
The ship's captain? tells Daniel and his new best enemy that when the ship drops anchor, immigration will be coming up the ramp, so they'd better jump off the side. After that, they're on their own. He hands over their pay.
Camila is taking her role as executor very seriously. She thinks that giving the inheritance to Daniel's kids is what her uncle would have wanted. Everybody is trying to talk her out of it. Camila insists that if the ranch is to be hers, she wants to come by it honestly. Alonso says it's imperative that she take possession as quickly as possible. Dionisio softens Alonso's crazy by saying that the situation is very stressful for everyone and the way to end the stress is to get to a resolution. Isadora backs up Dionisio. Dionisio offers to stay abreast of the news from Chile. Alonso, stupidly, keeps arguing with Camila, which only pisses her off and she pulls rank as the executrix and goes back to her veterinary duties. It seems to have slipped Alonso's mind that all his machinations will come to nothing if he doesn't stay married to Camila. So much for his flowery apologies. Isadora and Dionisio exchange an annoyed look.
Leoncio's niece (whose name I keep missing) calls her mother (whose name I keep missing) to say she's not coming home until late, her uncle be damned! Some cute boy catches up to her and they make with the smoochies.
Alonso follows Camila out to insist that he's just trying to protect her. She's on to him, though, and knows he just wants her to agree with him. He tries to say that if everyone else disagrees with her, they must all be right, but Camila knows she's the one who loved her uncle best and knew him best, so if there's anyone who can judge how he wanted things to be done, it's her. She finds it ironic that everyone else is more pissed off about her uncle's will than she is, when she's the one being affected by it the most. Camila finally tells Alonso to just drop it because she's not going to change her mind.
Agustina thanks Dionisio for taking such an interest in something that doesn't concern him in the least and having to put up with such unpleasant scenes because of it. Isadora brings up knitting again, assuming, correctly, that Agustina is way too upset to teach her this afternoon. Agustina gratefully agrees to leave it for another day.
Alonso agrees to drop it. Camila says, since he's in such a conciliatory mood, she might as well tell him that Viviana and Rafael will be visiting the ranch to take pictures, and get info for the book, respectively. Alonso agrees to treat them well, but only for her sake. Camila goes off to get some actual work done, finally.
Cute townie boy dating Leoncio's niece is from the ranch neighboring La Malquerida--La Buena Aventura. So, lemme see if I'm getting this, one ranch is unloved (La Malquerida) and the neighboring ranch is a fun roll in the hay (La Buena Aventura; the good adventure, though "aventura" also refers to an affair--not necessarily cheating, but could also be a love affair between two single people)? Well, these two cute kids are willing to fight for their luuuuurve, encouraged by cute townie (ranchie?) boy's older brother.
Between Camila's goodness and Alonso's stupidity, they're really throwing a wrench in Dionisio's and Isadora's plans. The two bitch about it.
The boat has dropped anchor, but before Daniel, er, The Count of Monte Cristo, can make his jump, his new best enemy tries to smash his leg in with a sledgehammer. El Conde smacks him around, gets free, and makes his jump, while the dumbass who tried to stop him gets busted. Sucker! A few other guys make it over the side and they call in the Coast Guard.
Leoncio comes into Alonso's office. There's some confusion about who exactly he wanted to speak to and who said what to whom about it and in the end he leaves and Natalia's annoyed, and Alonso would be confused if he gave a crap, but since all these people are beneath him, he kinda doesn't care.
Daniel de Monte Cristo gets hauled ashore by a fisherman. Talk about reeling in the big one, heh, heh.
Viviana takes photos of studs while Camila explains things to Rafael. Alonso watches from his office window and smashes a glass of brandy.
Time passes. Viviana takes pictures. Rafael talks to ranch hands. Daniel is nursed back to health. Isadora learns how to knit…or not. Viviana is introduced to her. Alonso keeps trying to get frisky, but Camila resists him.
Dionisio is having no luck getting Farcas to return his calls, so he has no idea what's going on in Chile. Isadora suggests they use that to their advantage and tell Camila that Daniel's wife and child are dead. "If Farcas won't return your calls, he's not likely to return hers." Dionisio agrees and says it's time to act. He'll tell Camila, but he needs Isadora's help to get the developers onto the property to check things out. He can't put off the actual planning stage any longer, and since Don Daniel had been buying up additional properties, that has to be taken into account. Isadora figures she can distract Camila so she won't even know they're there. Dionisio praises Isadora, saying if her son had half her talent and skill, things wouldn't have gone this way.
Cute ranch boy's name is Pablo. He's just got to finish up some paperwork and he'll be officially graduated. Leoncio's niece is almost of age. Soon they can make like Billy and Patty in that Rod Stewart song. *smoochies* What could possibly go wrong?
Un mes después… Or rather, Un mes después…
Agustina is glad Camila and Alonso have stopped fighting. Um. Ok. Camila is meeting Alonso for lunch.
Daniel de Monte Cristo is on a bus, and his seatmate is going to suggest a cafeteria (café) to him that has some awesome pan dulce (sweet bread, pastries). It will be probably be the same one where Camila is meeting Alonso. Alonso is driving behind the bus, but he gets into the other lane to pass it, while honking his horn and yelling, "Quitense, muertos de hambre, tengo prisa!" (Get the hell out of my way you frickin' bums, I'm in a hurry!) I find that particularly offensive. And he's not even passing the damn bus, so apparently his car's engine isn't performing any better than his penis. The bus ends up having to brake violently to keep from hitting him as he pulls back into their lane.
Camila admires some sunflowers at a street stand and buys three.
Daniel de Monte Cristo arrives in town.
Alonso orders a coffe and sits down.
Daniel de Monte Cristo's seatmate walks him to the café.
The waitress offers to let Camila know that Alonso's washing his hands if she arrives before he gets back to the table.
Camila walks into the café, sunflowers in hand, and sits at an empty table. Daniel de Monte Cristo approaches and says that's his table. He points out his hat and Camila gets up, knocking over the sunflowers. In the process of reaching for them, she and Daniel touch each other's hands…significantly. Viviana comes in, interrupting the gratuitous hand sex. Daniel hands Camila the flowers. Viviana goes to the bathroom and Camila and Daniel get into a polite-fight about who gets the table. Daniel wins, and he goes off to sit at another table.
Alonso meets Don Daniel's lawyer. He's trying to convince him to give the ranch to Camila, saying that they're losing money, but he won't explain how. He just says as the administrator he knows what he's talking about. The lawyer says there's only 9 more months to wait, or until the death certificate for Daniel comes in. Alonso shiftily says he can't wait that long, he needs Camila to have the ranch NOW! He covers saying he'd like to give her that peace. He offers to bribe the lawyer, who takes offense.
Camila gives Viviana the sunflowers as yet another apology for Alonso's behavior at her party. Camila explains about taking the guy's table…she turns to look for Daniel, but he's gone.
Daniel walks around, remembering what his mother said about how much he would love the town. He thinks that he misses his mom and his wife.
Camila keeps waxing rhapsodic about her mystery man. Viviana has a laugh over what she assumes (correctly) Alonso's reaction would be. Viviana asks how things are going with Alonso. Camila isn't happy. She admits that nothing's going on with them…you know, as in nothing..um, as in nada de sexo.
Daniel gets a room at Amanda's inn. He doesn't know how long he's staying. He tells her he's kind of keeping his mom's last wish. Amanda hopes the town lives up to her memories. She can't rent him a room without ID, though.
Camila's feeling disappointed about the lack of sex. Viviana hopes Camila realizes the she's not the cause of the problem. Camila says she's been doubting that she has the power to arouse him…maybe she doesn't dress nice enough, she never fixes herself up. Viviana calls bullshit on that right quick! "You can't let this affect your self-esteem! I don't know why he hasn't been able to rise to the occasion, but I'm sure it's not because of you." Viviana understands his jealousy now…not that it's justified. Viviana says Camila's going to have to get herself a lover to prove to herself it's not her or, or get a divorce already.
Daniel tells Amanda that he was robbed, which is why he doesn't have any ID, but since he had some cash hidden on him, he can pay her 3 weeks up front. Amanda hesitates, but with his sweet innocent face (and slammin' bod) he convinces her that he's a good guy. He's planning to stay in town if he can get a job, and, you know, if she lets him stay there. Amanda agrees, since times have been tough lately, but she says the first thing she sees that she doesn't like, he's out of there and he won't get his deposit back! Daniel agrees. He gives his name as Andres Duarte.
While Isadora pretends to knit (puh-leeze, there were no stitches coming off that left hand needle…couldn't they have at least taught her how to slip stitches to make it a little more convincing?) she talks Agustina into the following: so that things are in order, should Daniel turn up alive and in a position to claim his inheritance, OR so that Camila can see what she's missing out on, Agustina will suggest an audit/appraisal of the ranch; Isadora will hire an auditor and Alonso will pay for it, and they'll inform Camila when the auditor arrives, because she wouldn't be so rude as to kick them out after they'd come all that way.
Dante is back in town and he comes to Abraham's office to explain that Miriam got the life insurance policy without Daniel's knowledge. Whatever, Abraham's already decided Daniel's guilty and he doesn't believe a word Dante says. Dante vows that the more Abraham insists on accusing Daniel, the harder he'll fight to defend him.
Andres now meets Natalia. He claims to be from a small town in South America. He asks for her help finding a job and says he's pretty good at anything. Natalia mentions her job at the ranch. When Daniel hears she works at La Malquerida, he tries to see if she can get him a job there. Natalia figures if she asks Camila, who's the real owner, she can get him a job.
Camila remembers suggesting to Alonso that maybe she join him for therapy. Alonso is now the one counseling patience and saying these things take time. He tries to accuse Camila of being some kind of depraved nympho for actually wanting to have sex in this decade. Camila snaps out of her memory and says to herself that she has to do something. She climbs a chair to pull a piece of paper out of a box on a high shelf.
Natalia's sweeping the hotel lobby when Daniel comes downstairs. Oblivious to the fact that Natalia's a woman, he says he's going out for a walk around town and reminds her about trying to get him a job. Um, dude, she was hoping you'd invite her! That dumbass is going to be breaking hearts all over town.
Camila calls Alonso's supposed therapist to ask if she can make an appointment, either with him, or with someone else if he'd prefer not to see them both. The receptionist checks in the computer, but Alonso was only seen once and never came back, so she doesn't think the therapist would have a problem seeing Camila. Camila remembers Alonso coming back from that appointment and handing her the doctor's info. She chokes back what I hope is righteous fury and says she'll call back and make an appointment later.
Amanda and Padre Baldy come back to the inn. Natalia shouts down from upstairs that she's just cleaning a room and then she's going to have a shower. Amanda offers to make Padre Baldy a coffee and asks him if he thinks it was ok to let someone without ID stay there. Padre Baldy thinks it was good she showed charity to someone in need. Amanda agrees, but she's definitely going to keep an eye on him and make sure he deserves it. I agree. We all need to keep a close eye on this Andres person. Who knows what he could be hiding behind that handsome face and those rippling pecs, not to mention inside those tight jeans. I'm just saying. Better safe than sorry.
Isadora happily announces to Alonso and Dionisio that they can have people come in and do all the measuring and calculating they want. Alonso is resentful when Dionisio tells him to support Agustina in keeping Camila from paying attention to what's going on. He doesn't like being told what to do. Dionisio reminds him that Camila has cause quite a lot of problems already, so Alonso had better figure out how to get Camila to give them the ranch. "Por las buenas o por las malas" (the easy way or the hard way). Alonso wants some clarification about the hard way. Dionisio says that he's going to tell Camila that Daniel's wife died, but that's the last thing he'll do. After that, it's all up to Alonso, unless he wants to lose everything. "Do I need to remind you that we have a signed contract that I can use to ruin you?" Business is business, after all. Dionisio takes his leave and Isadora turns on Alonso. He rather whinily says she needs to stop pressuring him.
Padre Baldy and Amanda have their coffee and talk about Daniel. Padre Baldy doesn't know if he's alive or not. Amanda hopes he's able to show up safe and sound and able to prove his innocence. Padre Baldy says regardless, there still the matter of his jailbreak. Amanda wishes she could see a picture of him and Padre Baldy remembers Daniel gave him one before he died. Amanda pulls out a picture of Agatha and Padre Baldy says Daniel looks like her.
Camila is out on the balcony, musing, when Daniel sees her from behind a tree. Camila sees movement and thinks it's Alonso. Leoncio appears and says no, Alonso isn't home. He goes on his way, leaving Camila to her musing and Alonso to the realization that this is Camila. He thought bubbles that she's the reason he's lost everything.
Tomorrow: Daniel and Camila meet again.

Elisa says it hurts her to renounce to the quinta but she won’t beg anyone for money like her. As Carmina charges toward Elisa, Lolita pulls a knife on Carmina. Elisa tells Carmina don’t worry, after all no matter what you will end up having everything. Carmina leaves in a huff. Elisa takes a huge sigh in sink… Lolita asks how can you stay here? (right??!!). Elisa asks her for patience, we will leave soon.

Amor Bravío #13 (Uni 8) Wed 8/22/12 The Great Escape, and Javert is Back! How We Wish Camila Would Dive to Freedom Too!
Before beginning this recap, greetings to the entire Caray Caray family including recappers, regular posters and all other lurkers. I am happy to have the opportunity to be a recap trainee, following the impressive talent of the established Caray!Caray! recap team. I have been a faithful Caray!Caray! reader from viewerville since I discovered this blog back during the "Destilando Amor" days. Mind you, my viewing obsession started even earlier while watching "Tu o Nadie" in Mexico. Since then, I never follow a Uni telenovela without also reading Caray!Caray! recaps and I frequently find myself laughing aloud (and having to explain why to anyone in earshot of me). It has been great fun and a fascinating study of telenovela culture. On to the recap.
We begin with one quick scene of Daniel running in the Chilean forest with the Chilean police in close pursuit. His cellmate has died from being shot and he is forced to leave him behind.
Back to Mexico for the long ride home in the car with Alonso still blathering at Camila about going to Viv's party without him. According to him, her job is to stay at his side and support him through this, er, difficult time and through his insecurity. He keeps gesturing towards and looking down at his lap as if there is a third member of this conversation. He adds that this problem is as much hers as it is his and she is just as responsible for it as he is. All reasoning on Camila's part is pointless as it is going in one big Al ear and out the other. At this point, let me just weigh in with all of the discussion regarding Al's overall similarities to other people and creatures...After careful consideration, I have concluded he is slightly Tony Randall, more Tony Perkins (similar mumsy issues) and a smidgeon of Mel Gibson (in the eyes and recorded temperament).
Back in Chile, Abe is awakened by a call from the Chilean prison staff, letting him know there has been a prison break. Abe is on it and declares he will dash down to the command post in minutes.
Back at the hacienda, after a very wearing and long car trip home, we are sure, Camila tells Alonso that the farce of a marriage is over. Alonso attempts to rationalize the craziness by saying all couples go through these types of thing. Camila isn't buying it. In the next attempt at rationalizing, Alonso declares that this idea must all be the result of Camila being around that "muy liberal" and divorced photographer, Vivi. Since Viv is single, she must be putting ideas in Camila's head to lure her into a decadent single marital status. Camila of course, denies this to no avail. Note to Camila - girlfriend, when Al is in crazy mode give up reasoning with him.
Cut to Natalia's mom, Amanda, telling Natalia to consider getting another job since everything is upside down in El Rancho Malquerido. Amanda points out that Alonso doesn't exactly trust Natalia, also rumor has it that Camila and Al's honeymoon marriage is more like the Luna de Manicomio, and that ownership of the ranch is pretty shakey right now. Natalia waves off Mom's concerns saying she can handle it and they pay her pretty well (in money and chisme). Mom goes to the fallback position of suggesting Natalia find a good man to take care of her. Umm, Wasn't that the whole plan behind Camila marrying Al?
Back to the happy couple. Alonso further blathers that the pressure of the "misappropriated" inheritance is causing him this stress and to act in this way. Not just that, but there is so much pressure from all the people he is responsible for taking care of and protecting, Camila, Agustina, Maja, etc. and that no one appreciates him. Camila says, "you're a great guy, but love is about trust and er sexuality" and clearly this is not happening.
Back at the prison break, Daniel runs through the dense foliage pursued by the prison guards and their dogs. He manages to make it out into the open to .... a cliff. What will he do?
But first, back at Abe's office. Abe has now become Chile's version of Javert (Les Miz) on his righteous quest to find the escaped prisoner as the new mission of his life. The guards and staff tell him that Daniel has pulled a technical fast one on them and erased all computer info about him which will delay their being able to track him and which then brings Abe's ire a notch higher.
BAck to Daniel and the cliff. Daniellooks back and forth and then ... aaayeeeee!!!!!... he jumps (with a score of about five in my estimation). The cameras are hard at work, he is actually filmed hitting the surface and plunging below the surface, bubbles and all. The soldiers shoot at him jumping and, of course, miss him. Daniel recovers and starts to swim, and swim and swim.... Many of the following scenes continue this theme, just so you know in advance. The scenes cut into Daniel swimming freestyle, Daniel sleeping on a rock out at sea while his face is submerged, Daniel seeing land in the distance and Daniel finally dragging himself onto the sand to collapse once again. I am telling you this just in case I am a little out of order. Someone forgot to tell the writers and editors this was day two of my training as a blogger.
Meanwhile, Dionisio is growling into the phone at Isadora that his plans in Chile were dashed and there was a prison break while he was trying to get in to see (and off) Daniel. He hopes Daniel was not one of the ones who escaped, because this would really throw a wrench into his plans. Dionisio and Isadora's eyes glitter with adrenaline as they consider plan B.
Swim scene.
Back at the Hacienda, the next morning, Camila and Agustina have a mother daughter talk. Agustina complains she heard the happy couple fighting all the way in her room last night. She tells Camila she knew this would happen if Camila went to Viv's party alone. Camila gets to the point saying this marriage may very well be a mistake. Mom begs to differ saying Alonso is a nice guy. Camila agrees "sin dudo" (really?) but adds he just isn't the right "nice guy" for her (remember that line ladies when you need a smooth breakup line). Camila says she needs to go to town to apologize to Vivi for last night's scene. She is going alone despite metiche mom offering to go to try to avert another scene with Alonso.
Swim scene.
Scene switches to the kitchen where Piedad is cooking and the strange sarape guy Leoncio is sitting at the table, sans sarape, finally. Luzma, her daughter, comes in and is asking to go to el centro with her friends. Teenage angst ensues when Sarape Guy (girl's Tio Leo) tells her her skirt is too short. Mom agrees saying Tio Leo is just taking care of the pair of them. The girl replies with predictable indignation. Girl proceeds to leave the kitchen and call "mi amor" to cancel some clandestine meeting. Look like Tio Leo is on to Luzma. Tio Leo tells mom that he tells Luzma what he does because he doesn't want girl to end up like mom did... back story on this to come later.
Another part of the hacienda has Natalia and Alonso together planning the day when Agustina comes into the room. When asked about Camila's whereabouts, metiche mom spills the beans that Camila went to town to apologize to Vivi for the scene created at last night's party. Al gets edgy, comes up with a plan and demands Natalia go to the florist and have flowers delivered to the house for Camila.
Camila, in town, is at her first stop, which is apparently at the town church starting with the obligatory prayer to the Virgen of Guadalupe to help her out of her confusion.
Back to Abe/Javert and the guards discussing Daniel's escape. Guard informs Abe that Daniel escaped by jumping off the cliff. Dratt, says Abe, that Daniel is a good swimmer. Nonetheless, Abe will find Daniel, dead or alive, no matter what.
Back at the church, where Camila knocks and asks Padre Baldomero if she can talk and confess. Camila tells Padre she isn't sure if what she is about to confess is a sin or not, but that she needs help. She thinks she should not have married Alonso as he has now shown her a completely different side of himself that she is none to happy about. He is controlling (creepy), possessive (creepy), oh and she mentions has "su problema". Here I nearly fell off the chair wondering if she was really going to talk about "su problem" with Padre? Camila proceeds to get straight to it using euphemisms like "we have not yet completed our marriage" and "I haven't been fully completed by Alonso as a man" etc....
Somewhere along this discussion, the scene cuts back to Daniel, stranded on the beach, staggering up the sand stealing someone's jacket and who knows what else.
Back to the church. Padre Baldomero, by this time, is doing a good job holding back a choke and proceeds to tell her that he imagines this must be an important source of Al's difficulties and frustration. He says he is not an expert in these things (in telenovelas you can never be too sure) and that she needs to give the marriage time. She needs to be patient, caring, and affectionate with Alonso and things may very well resolve themselves. I proceed to slap my forehead with a "really Padre?" but remember this is telenovela talk and get back into my chair.
Somewhere between the church scenes we see Daniel in two different scenes. First he is boarding a boat. He is asked by the shipmate checking in passengers if he has papers, he replies "no" and without pause, the shipmate lets him on, pointing to the paperless people stowaway passenger section of the boat.
In another scene on the boat, we see Daniel swabbing the deck and gazing at the ship's flag of Mexico. This jogs Daniel's memory of his prisonmate's hypothesis of Daniel's recent downturn in luck. He points out that just as Daniel received an inheritance, he ends up being accused of murder. He continues to wisely suggest to Daniel (who isn't impressing us with his quick analytic skills here) his theory that "he who inherits a ton of money may incur the the resentment of those who did not" (i.e. whoever is next in line to Daniel's new inheritance may want Daniel out of the picture). This prisoner has further impressive knowledge of Mexican estate law explaining that Daniel has a year to claim the inheritance or else it goes to the next person in line. Daniel being a good guy makes a strong statement that he hopes it is not true, but if this Camila Monterde is behind all of this he will make her pay for it (split scene with photo of unsuspecting Camila).
Back at Viv's apartment, Camila has arrived to say she is sorry. Gracious Viv says no worries, but that you, girl, have a grave problem. She even boldly asks why do you put up with it. Camila responds that no one wants to accept that a marriage is a mistake. Vivi says a short marriage is even worse, but Camila who has been tracking all the "dias despues" says, actually we have been married for months. Vivi astutely points out that Camila sure does not look happy. All of the sudden who stumbles out of a back bedroom but the Rafael the writer. Vivi asks if he slept well leading Camila to make "assumptions" and look pointedly at Viv.
Back at the boat, Daniel is swabbing and a shipmate asks where he is from. Daniel makes up a name Andres Duarte (the former prisonmate since shot and killed during the escape) and shuts down the niceties saying he doesn't need friends. Matey doesn't think this is too friendly and proceeds to dump a bucket of water on the freshly swabbed deck to annoy "Andres". Glares ensue and we say to ourselves, this could be a problem.
BAck at the Viv's place she clarifies that Rafael is staying in the guest room while he is looking for a place to rent. The girls confirm the nature of the platonic relationship by cleverly using special finger talk to indicate "together like, you know".
Back in Chile, ever helpful Dionisio follows up with Abe as the official representative for the Monterde family. He is asking to help in the search for Daniel on behalf of the familia Monterde. They discuss something about the inheritance. Abe declines Dionisio's help and sends him packing.
Back at Viv's apartment, things liven up and Viv invites all for chilaquiles and coffee and a good time is had by all. Somewhere in this scene Vivi asks what we in viewerville all want to know too, "who named the ranch Malquerido (and why)?". Camila doesn't seem to know the answer to this says she will inquire from her mom.
Back at the ranch, a hungry Alonso and Agustino are wondering where Camila is. Alonso points out how rude it is to have been kept waiting without word from Camila. Camila walks in the door apologetic about a late arrival explaining her whereabouts. She notices the huge bunch of roses on the table (much better florist than Rogelia in LQNPA had) and is directed to a card which basically reads "Sorry and I will never do this again". We in viewerville know he really means "I need to rein in my general creeptitude and make nice to Camila or else the scheme will go bust and mummy will be real mad. And when mummy is mad, things just don't "work right"". Camila is touched by the card and hugs hubby loco while Agustina gushes and smiles.
Natalia comes to get Alonso to answer a call in the other room. Dionisio is calling from Chile, announcing he will be returning to the ranch tomorrow. He tells Alonso that things have not gone as planned and he will be there to tell them the bad news.
Back at Vivi's, she and Rafael discuss the future of Camilas invites to them to visit the ranch. Vivi cautions Rafael about going out to the ranch since Alonso is none too fond of him but Rafael throws caution to the wind and plans to take Camila up on her offer to host them at the ranch. We begin to wonder if the girls will be doing finger talk again in the future.
Isadora and Alonso are back in her apartment and Alonso tells Isadora that she needs to find a pretext to be at the house when Dionisio arrives with the news. Isadora (aka Nora Bates) starts up with talk about "the problem" (which of course can do nothing but aggravate "the problem"). Alonso gets into his psycho mode covering his ears and begging mummy to stop this talk. Isadora cannot believe that Al hasn't whipped the little lady into shape by now and have her obeying his every word.
Back at Amanda's hotel, Amanda is busy serving and in walks Padre Baldomero for a meal of tamales. Amanda corners Padre to ask what is up with Daniel, Agatha's son. She says she knows that Agatha would be very sad if she knew what was happening to her son right now. Natalia drifts in inquiring "hijo de quien" forcing Amanda to change the subject so Miss Nosey will go away. Natalia happily changes the subject into gossiping about the flowers that Alonso had to send Camila to say he is sorry. Padre is wondering what Alonso needs to be sorry about.
Back at the boat, Daniel looks at his ringless finger and the moon and tells himself how much he misses Marian Shipmates are poised to accompany him in song if necessary. No song, just reminiscing about Marian.
Back at the hacienda Isadora comes to visit Agustina. She builds a little intrigue asking Agustina for a big favor. What is it? She want Agustina to teach her how to knit. It is a thinly veiled excuse for Isadora to be at the ranch when Dionisio arrives. Agustina is mighty pleased to do this as they can prepare booties and things for the soon-to-arrive grandchild together. Dionisio drives up to the hacienda to update the family on the news from Chile regarding Daniel Acosta and the prison break. He steps out of the car while Alonso approaches, proceeds to ignore Alonso and slurps all over Camila This does not go unnoticed by Alonso and Tio Leo sarape guy.
Last scene on the boat, Daniel is again swabbing the deck and the shipmate with attitude returns. He dumps trash on the freshly cleaned deck and a fight ensues. Someone in charge of the ones without papers breaks it up and reminds them that they don't have papers. We wonder where this storyline will go.
Last scene back at the hacienda, With the gang all together, Dionisio tells them that Daniel is now a fugitive from justice and still stands accused of trying to kill his wife and child. Hopeful faces suggest that now the inheritance can go to Camila. However, Camila dashes all hope by saying that if Daniel has met his demise, then the inheritance should go to his wife and child. Crestfallen looks all around.
Avances: Dionisio and Isadora plot, Alonso needs respect and Daniel has arrived in town.

Por ella soy Eva #26 8/22/12
Por Ella Soy Eva – August 22, 2012We begin our show in Helena’s office. Helena has just watched the video left to her by Juan Carlos and finally lets her feelings out to Eva. She admits to Eva that she loves Juan Carlos and that if he were alive, she’d let him know it. Tough Helena is quite vulnerable at this point. Eva tries to comfort her and offers friendship and loyalty. Eva and Helena begin talking and getting along better. Helena lets Eva know about the problem with Diego Fonticoda. They talk about how hard it is to be a woman in a male dominated company and business. Helena offers a sincere apology to Eva. Helena then looks for Santiago and Fernando to offer them an apology and to ask if they could work as a team to find a solution to the problem they’re facing. At first, Santiago and Fernando are tough guys and inflexible. Leave it to Juan Carlos (Eva) to put them in their place, making them agree to be a team. Of course, he almost gave himself away by divulging secrets that only the three knew (Juan Carlos, Santiago, and Fernando). He covered his tracks though. Thanks to Eva, the four became a working team. Right when they’re about to get to work, Helena asks Eva to help her find a solution to the problem. Eva calls Diego and annoys the hell out of him. Nonetheless, she is able to get another meeting set up with Diego and Helena. Diego makes it clear that Helena needs to go alone. Eva has other ideas. At the same time, Adriano puts some pressure on Helena to have the signed contract on his desk by the next day. Marcela offers Helena help as well. At first, she offers to go with her to the meeting with Diego. Helena asks for an alternative. She asks Marcela to tell her all she can about Diego. Marcela confides in Helena that she knew Diego in her youth and that they were a couple at one point. At the homestead, Helena asks Lalito to help with some chores. He does but is somewhat cautious about it because if Eduardo were to see him, he’d get a scolding. Helena assures Lalo that it is good for him to be a responsible kid who helps around the house. Silvia agrees with and supports Helena. The Contreras storyline is an interesting one. Fernando continues to show a lot of jealousy and insecurity regarding his wife’s promotion and abilities at work. He feels as if she’s showing him up. His pride, and even his manhood, are being challenged. He also continues to be jealous or hurt over the fact that Marcela had someone else before him. Fernando gets home and lets Marcela know he’s hungry. Marcela lets him know that thanks to a bonus, she set aside a bit of money to invite Fernando and the kids to a nice restaurant for dinner. Again, Fernando is uncomfortable but relents. Another storyline that is interesting is that of Eduardo and Silvia. Silvia may have confronted Eduardo with some uncomfortable topics and feelings he may have about Helena and Lalito. Silvia theorizes that Eduardo is afraid that Helena will one day make her own life, marry, and take Lalito from the house. She pleads with Eduardo not to fight for the kid’s custody and argues that Helena has all of the rights as Lalito’s mother. Eduardo gets furious and insults Silvia, letting her know that she’s worthless and that all she’s good for is to keep the house clean. Silvia is frustrated with Eduardo. We then have a scene involving Antonia, Plutarco, and Rebeca. While Plutarco and Rebeca are in a Jacuzzi, Antonia calls to let Plutarco know how much she’s looking forward to their romantic evening. Of course, Plutarco dashes her hopes and dreams by letting her know that he can’t make it due to an emergency meeting. Antonia isn’t buying that story any more. She has a sixth sense that Plutarco is cheating on her. Heartbroken, Antonia calls Eva and asks her to come to her house. She needs a friend. Eva is in a hurry to go to Helena’s meeting with Diego but agrees to pay Antonia a quick visit. Diego calls Helena and changes things on her. His excuse is that the day got complicated and that he was not able to return to the office. He asks if Helena would mind meeting at his house. Of course, she says that there’s no problem. After all, Helena is all business and figures Diego is the same way. At Antonia’s house, Antonia shares her suspicions regarding Plutarco with Eva. Eva (Juan Carlos) knows Plutarco and knows what he’s capable of doing, but has to be calm and comfort Antonia. Antonia is encouraged to do some research and get proof before saying anything to Plutarco. Antonia is convinced that her sixth sense is always right. Throughout this entire time, Antonia continues to eat. Eva notices this and tries to stop her from overeating. At that time, Helena calls Eva and lets her know about Diego wanting to meet at his house. Eva freaks out and leaves to try and catch up to Helena. She has a hard time getting there. At Diego’s house, Diego does everything he can to turn on the charm and seduce Helena. She isn’t going for it and is pretty direct and tries to focus on business with him. Helena is smart and will have some ammunition to use on Diego, and that is whatever Marcela shared with her. Back to Plutarco and Rebeca. She plainly lets him know that she wants him far from Helena. She’s not happy and shows it. She demands a promotion, and Plutarco comes up with a lame excuse why that can’t happen. Plutarco is messing with the wrong gal here. Eva finally gets to Diego’s house, and she needs to find a way of getting in. She has some challenges, including some seemingly ferocious dog activity. Diego and Helena talk, and Diego continues to try his best to seduce her. She lets him know that she is only there for one reason and that he has no reason or right to try anything else. In fact, she warns him that she could get him for sexual harassment. Diego is also smart and uses the argument that people wouldn’t believe Helena, a female who came to his house on her own. In fact, Diego uses his reputation as a womanizer to strengthen that argument. He lets Helena know his conditions for signing the contract. In her own way, Helena stands her ground. She is actually very gracious and classy about it, and although Diego tries to mock her arguments, he’s taken aback. Helena lets him know that by abusing his power as a womanizer, he shows insecurity and actually denigrates himself as a man. And, although she remembers Adriano’s words regarding the future of the company being in her hands, Helena chooses to keep her dignity and self respect over having the contract signed by Diego. Diego ends up capitulating and asking for Helena’s forgiveness. She taught him a valuable lesson. He signs the contract. He seems sincere. Helena did it on her own…she got the job done. Poor Eva had to go through an unnecessary challenge. Back at Mimi’s, Juan Carlos and Mimi talk about the evening events. He tells Mimi that he’s actually grateful to this whole experience of being Eva because he understands women much better. At that very minute, Helena calls Eva and invites her over to her house for a celebration. Juan Carlos is thrilled and does his best to transform himself back into Eva. He wants to get to Helena’s as soon as possible. Mimi warns him not to let his emotions get the best of him. At Helena’s house, Juan Carlos almost gave himself away again. Helena wanted to have a toast, and Juan Carlos (as Eva) reminds Helena that she doesn’t drink. Helena pauses and asks how Eva knew. Eva comes up with some lame explanation. Helena also remembers something that saddens her. Eva notices her. I’m sure she remembered toasting with Juan Carlos. At Grupo Imperio, Antonia looks for Plutarco. He’s not there, but she uses his absence to begin looking for proof that he cheats on her. She finds some paperwork and jumps to the conclusion that Helena is the “other woman.” Someone’s going to need to cover the last scene at Helena’s house, because I got an important call that I had to take, and I didn’t tape the episode. I just saw something about a celebration and a mosquito. Sorry.

Refugio Para el Amor #97 Wed 8/22/12 Gala Puts on the Pressure and Pato Almost Confesses
No Puede Ser
Luciana tearfully reacts to a Double Whammy: Refugio married AND Gala’s pregnant! Pato
apologizes for the way they (the Torreslandas) treated her. She doesn’t deserve this suffering and mostly
because it was caused by his brother.
He’s wrong, says Luciana. It’s
not his fault, or mine. Blame it on this
love. This blind love that wouldn’t
accept this just couldn’t be. Pato
observes she’s speaking of love in the past tense out of bitterness, but her
love for Rod *still not dead to me, btw* is eternal. Luci tearfully responds, “What good is it to have this love in my
heart when he’s not here with me, now that we’re separated, now that he’s
married another woman! Rodrigo’s
forgotten me…..he’s forgotten me.”

Abismo de pasión #113 8/21/12: Guido’s A Goner and Everybody Left Better Have An Alibi
Abismo 113 – Guido’s A Goner and Everybody Left Better Have An Alibi
A short bulleted offering from your recapper Elna June
Hacienda Arango
· We start out where Novela Maven left us yesterday, in the tense atmosphere of a Damian-Alfonsina encounter in the sala of Hacienda Harrangue-0. After his little tete a tete with Gabino, Damian asks his Mother is he has half-brothers out there, just waiting to be found. Rosendo could have had more sons, NO? Alfonsina dismisses this inquiry with a filthy look and tells Damian not to speak nonsense.
La Quinta Castañon
· Elisa comes into her room to find a white dress on the bed. It is lovely. Delores comes in and asks if Elisa likes the dress. Elisa says Yes, it is darling. Delores explains that the dress is hers—she had it made years ago by Blanca for her intended wedding with Braulio. She never used it and now Elisa can wear the dress in six months for her wedding with Gael. Hrumph. Elisa/ Gael. A perfect waste of a lovely dress, I say.
Hacienda Arango
· Flo and Damian are getting ready for bed. Flo tells Damian she is worried about their relationship. Damian seems cold and distant to her. Damian tells her that he already TOLD her that she needs to be patient with him. She tries another tack.
· Looking lovely and moving in for seduction, Flo rubs her body against his like a cat looking for it’s missing Fancy Feast, lowers her voice and says she misses his hot Lips, and his hot other stuff, too.
· Damian seems repulsed by her and after a kiss he pushes her away and says that they should not have relations until the baby is born. He is not ABLE…She should return to her room. A shocked Flo gets the beddie-bye boot for the foreseeable future, since we know she is never going to have the fake baby.
Hacienda Beltran
· Gabino has settled in to his new office at the beauteous Hacienda Beltran. I must say that he looks quite comfortable in the palatial looking room, leaning back in the chair, chewing his cud or some other unmentionable object, and making a phone call to Alfonsina. The camera angle is priceless, shooting Gabino at a low angle from between two large objects on his manorial desk, a giant brass dollar sign and a large hourglass. The sand has run down in the hourglass. This heavy-handed art direction may suggest that Gabino’s time is up, but I don’t believe it, not yet. Not with 40 capitulos to go until the end of AdP.
· Gabino calls Alfonsina and, in a familiar tone, reminds her of his talk with Damian. He summons her to see him, early tomorrow morning at his new house—Hacienda Beltran.
· Alfonsina looks like she has a whole habanero stuck in her throat. Did she hear correctly? Yes, she heard him correctly, says Gabino, he’ll see her early tomorrow AM at the Hacienda Beltran. Now who is summoning whom, Alfonsina?
Ingrid + Needs Alibi=Trouble for Doc Tovar
· Ingrid wakes up in Doc Tovar’s hotel room as ominous music plays. He is still sleeping. She gets dressed and grabs her bag and Guido’s briefcase full of cash. On the way out she runs into the maid, who is delivering fresh towels to Guido’s room.
· The maid knocks, enters Guido’s room and finds him dead in the shower. Drat! I liked Guido and the Cap’n had first dibs on him.
· The maid calls for help and Dr. Edmundo Tovar comes into the Guido’s Hotel room. He declares Guido dead but hangs around the room before the police arrive. He suggests that Guido probably fell and hit his head, only an autopsy will show for sure.
Paolo’s Room at Hacienda Arango
· A bitter Florencia visits her Uncle Paolo to complain that Damian gave her the Beddie-bye Boot. Plo asks her if she still wants to continue with this (STOOPID) fake baby plot. She replies that she doesn’t have any choice; the writers cannot think of anything else for a beautiful, talented young actress to do—other than serve as a fake brood mare. Also, Damian would dump her for Elisa if her knew she wasn’t pregnant.
· Plo now turns sagacious and reminds Flo that in a fake baby plot it might be a GOOD thing if no one was touching her, or peeking behind the curtain, so to speak. What was she planning at 5-6 months fake preggers to do to keep Damian at bay? Aha! Light dawns on Flo’s lovely brown eyes. Now Alfie will be less suspicious, as well. (Huh?) Plo asks her again if she wants to continue with the program without Sabrina’s baby. Flo will talk to Dr. Manrique and figure out how to proceed…she tells her uncle that she is determined to continue with the half-assed idea.
Sabrina Visits Elisa to Blame Her for Alienating Paolo’s Affection
· Really, Sabrina? Elisa tells her that she had nothing to do with that patan Paolo. Her tia is more likely to be the problem.. She tells Sabina not to be a fool—open her eyes! Sabrina cries and looks miserable Elisa sort of comforts her.
Don Lucio Feels Guilty For Having A Nice Time At Maru’s
· Lucio comes home from his date with Maru and remembers Blanca. He feels guilty.
Hacienda Beltran
· Alfonsina comes into Gabino’s new abode. Gabino asks how she likes it—she ignores him. He offers her a seat. She says she would rather stand on her own two feet. She tells him to shut up/ He reminds her that he is in no way an employee of hers any longer. Alfie repeats her recent accusations of Gabino—he is an embezzler! He replies that they should not fall into ugly words. For years he was her ‘perro mas fiel’. She disagrees; Gabino was not faithful at all.
· Gabino reminds her not to interrupt him . He has a business proposition for her, a 15-year contract for La Anita to buy his habaneros. Alfie says Damian is the one who takes such decisions.
· Gabino isn’t buying it. He starts in with some clear threats to disclose issues Alfie doesn’t want discussed: hijos de Rosendo, and all the things he, Gabino, has done for Alfonsina all these years. He reminds her that if she says anything she will completely damn herself! Alfie takes Gabino’s business proposal and leaves.
Casa Tovar
· Sabrina repeats her conversation with Elisa to her Mother. Begoña doesn’t believe it! She knows Carmina quite well! This is Elisa lying again. Sabrina doesn’t think so. Paolo is done with her and she knows it. Begoña now gets a little scary—if this is how it is going to be with Paolo he will pay very dearly. This, she swears, to Sabrina and we believe her. Paolo now has a new enemy—Begoña—and she has a very big mouth.
Blue House
· Gabino comes into the Blue House nattering on at Ingrid. She is unresponsive to his chatter. She stares ahead, apparently dazed.
o Ingrid says, “Gabino, I killed a man.”
o Gabino, “Who did you kill?”
o Ingrid, “Guido Landucci.”
o Gabino, “You killed Guido Landucci.”
o Ingrid, “Yes, with your pistol.”
o Gabino goes a little crazy looking for his pistol. Ingrid is mumbling about the papers. She seems to be saying that she had to get the papers BACK from Guido. (I can’t understand her and I have no closed captions. Help!) He finds the pistol in her bag.
Hacienda Arango
· Alfonsina walks into a full house, everyone is gathered in the living room. “What is going on”? Damian answers that Guido was found dead this morning. Alfie says it cannot be. Damian tells her that the police have some questions for her.
· A policeman tells them that they have discovered that Alfie had an appointment to meet with Guido Landucchi at 8:00 PM in the Hotel L’Ermita at the exact same time as Guido died. Alfonsisna says, “¿Pardon?’ and asks if he is accusing her of something. “Of course not, Sra.” replies the officer. The police just want to know if she talked to Sr Landucci. No, Alfie replies, she was not able to see him because he did not answer his door. She wasn’t there for five minutes and she asks Edmundo as a witness to back her up. Edmundo agrees with her, and says that he still thinks this whole thing was an accident.
· Paolo pipes in helpfully that it is a stupid time to for Guido to die, at this exact moment. Damian snaps at Paolo that if he can’t say something intelligent, then shut up.
· Now the questions are for everybody. Does anyone know if Sr. Landucci has any enemies in this hacienda? No, says Alfonsina. But Flo jumps up and calls Alfonsina a liar. Her father had an enemy here—Gabino Mendoza!
Blue House
· Gabino mumbles to Ingrid that he just had this conversation with Alfonsina this morning…It seems his best laid plans may not be going exactly the way Gabino hopes.
· Ingrid says it is obvious, Gabino. It was Paolo who gave Guido the incriminating papers. After all, Guido was his brother…
· How are you involved in this, Guido demands. She retells a story about going for a walk, meeting Guido, hitting him on the head with the gun…Guido suspiciously regards Ingrid.
Casa Arango
· Alfonsina tells the police that Gabino is no longer in her employ. Her son fired him from the procesadora. Flo pops up again, yelling at Alfie. Her father always suspected Gabino!
· Alfonsina claims the embezzlement as an administrative error, Paolo says that Guido WAS the embezzler. Of course it was he.
· But Flo rounds on her uncle. Guido swore on the grave of her Mother that he was not a thief and she believed him!
· The police leave to talk with Gabino Mendoza. Damian says that Gabino was here at the Hacienda, last night, talking with him. Gabino has an alibi!
· But today everybody is showing up at Casa Arango. Begoña now comes in to the house. She walks past the two white shirted policemen and leads Sabrina by the hand toward the rest of the group.
· The police now turn to Edmundo Tovar. They say that this morning a woman was seen leaving his room. Who was that?
· Edmundo hems and haws, but Begoña steps up and lies for him. "Tell them Edmundo", she says, "Tell them that your wife was with you last night".
Casa Castañon
· Elisa is being sad for her godfather, Lucio, when Gael come in bringing her a check from the Santa Maria procesadora, in her name. Yeah! She can pay Alfonsina! Gael also gives her his life savings. Elisa says Gracias.
· Elisa still worries about Don Lucio and Maru. Lucio needs a companion but he is still in love with his dead wife.
La Procesadora
· Maru waits for Don Lucio outside the procesadora. She is worried about him because he is late. He is usually so punctual.
· Gabino goes into the procesadora after insulting the guy at the gate.
Casa Arango
· Edmundo Tovar gives Begoña the news about Guido’s death. He explains that the police are at Casa Arango investigating. He reiterates that he thinks Guido’s death was an accident. ( I think he has expressed this opinion just a little too loudly, just a little too often). Begoña offers her sympathies to Alfie, knowing, as she says, that Guido was important to her. Edmundo wants to know why Begoña and his daughter Sabrina are there.
· Begoña says she is sorry to have come at such a tragic moment, but she there because what happened to Sabrina is terrible and sad. She is glad that she encountered the police here. She asks them to take into custody, in this very hour, ‘ese hombre’, pointing at Paolo, for violating her daughter!
La Quinta Castañon
· Carmina, otherwise known as Gabino’s Tangerine Dream, enters the house like a hurricane. She screams at Elisa about the check from the procesadora Santa Maria, it was in Elisa’s name! Elisa says she doesn’t have it…But Carmina screams at her not to lie. Carmina wants her piece of the Pepper Pie!
