Amores Verdaderos #15 Wed 11/28/12 I Like The Way You Move
So in this epi we get to finally see Dances with Sunglasses Dance. Can he cut a rug so to speak? Also Vikki gets caught dancing! How does she cut a rug? Read on to find out!
My eyes, my eyes, they are burning, I can't look, but since I recap, I have to watch the yuk, butt floss scene again. It is a rehash of yesterday, so I really don't have anything new to say, about that, thank goodness. Moving on now.
We are at a club and Salserso is there having a drink and notices a table of ladies sitting by themselves. He asks one of them to dance by holding out his hand. He gets on the dance floor with her and yowsa can that man dance, he is swiveling his hips and looks fantastic out on that dance floor. He has more than earned that nickname, jus' sayin'.
Nikki is working out with Guzmancito nearby, he gets a phone call. It is his Papa Felipe of course. Felipe tells Guzmancito about the beatdown and that he needs some money, like yesterday, or they are coming back to beat him some more. Guzmancito says he'll call him back later. Nikki wants to know who called Guzmancito. Was it perhaps a wife, girlfriend, spill the frijoles. She wants to know more about him. Guzmancito doesn't spill anything.
Vikki has given Jean Marie a list of those foods that Nikki should eat to manufacture more of the red blood cells she needs. Jean Marie promises to make them very tasty!
Angel comes into the kitchen and gives Vikki a CD and tells her to listen to #5 especially. She thanks him and he goes.
Jean Marie is the kitchen thinking of some menus for those foods Nikki needs to eat and the Angel comes in and interrupts him and calls him Juan Maria, lol. Angel it seems will never get his name right. Jean Marie corrects him with the correct pronunciation, and I have to say here, Jean Marie's French accent is flawless. Angel was just looking for the phone. Jean Marie dramatically points it out. Angel calls Chrissie and asks her how it's goin. She says she misses him, and he called to wish her a goodnight. They miss each other very much and he sends a big kiss to her and to Lili.
Adriana is in her apartment with that lit candle. She also has a pic of her and Vikki in front of the Tour Eiffel in Paris having a hug. She is talking to the picture and says she is sorry she hasn't let Vikki know she is back in Mexico, but she never wants her Papa Anibal to find out she is back. She is thinking about her daughter Lucia. Adriana won't rest until she can hold Lucia in her arms again. Adriana hugs the pic and smiles.
So we have Ms Vikki in her little hideaway painting and it looks like the painting is really coming along. It is of course the Angel and he looks like an Adonis, I must say. Ms Vikki stops painting and puts a CD in to paint by. The music is one they are using in this TN, sorry I don't the name or the artist. Ms Vikki continues to paint.
Ok, again with the Kendra and Nelson boinking party, my eyes!!! Thank goodness it is after the el flagrante part. They agree what they both just did was very passionate and toast each other. Can I hurl now??? Kendra wants to make him happy, but what about his wife? He tells her not to worry, he is in love with Kendra, say what??? Maybe lust, but love, jus' sayin'. She is saying seriously??? She calls him amorocito, many smoochies and something about Vikki, I didn't catch, maybe a meeting Kendra is supposed to have with her.
Polita, Angel, Guzmancito, Tomasina, and Jean Marie are in the kitchen, eating dinner and Jean Marie is serving. Polita loves this dinner cause Dances with Sunglasses isn't there, lol. Tomasina gets on her case and tells her not to talk badly about other employees. Polita just likes to tell it like it is. The Angel is pulling on his tie, he can't stand it, and Jean Marie tells him to leave it alone already. Angel is trying to get the tie off and Tomasina is saying something about a striptease, lol. Angel gets that tie off finally, and Tomasina echoes Ms Vikki's words about little by little he will get used to it. Guzmancito has been very quiet during dinner, and Angel wants to know wuz up? Guzmancito says problems with his Papa. Guzmancito is getting up and taking his plate, but Polita says she'll take it. She has really got it bad! Guzmancito says good night and goes and Jean Marie sits in his vacant chair. They start the chisme about Guzmancito's Papa, and Jean Marie pats the Angel's shoulder and he flicks Jean Marie's hand off his shoulder. Jean Marie kinda slaps the Angel's arm and is rewarded with pain, cause he hit the Angel's muscle and now Jean Marie's hand hurts, lol. Tomasina and the Angel laugh.
*Best Scene of This Epi* Vikki is still painting and is really getting into that music. She has taken her apron off, puts the pallet down, takes her glasses off, and she starts dancing and painting the air with her paintbrush and there are multicolored streams in the air, as if she had painted it. She is starting to dance very sensually and is completely lost in her own little world. The Angel comes by the room and hears the music and is curious to see what is goin' on. Vikki is continuing to dance with her paintbrush and the Angel is seeing what she is doing, and is completely fascinated by what she is doing. He is really likin what he is seeing. So now Ms Vikki looks like she is doing a striptease type thing, but she keeps her clothes on, the only thing showing is her bra strap, cause her sweater keeps slipping off her shoulder. The Angel can't stop looking and just stares as she dances with a smile on his face, showing all those beautiful pearly whites. Sigh. She turns and sees the Angel watching her and oopsie, Busted!!! Of course she says the TN staple, that all of Viewerville knows by now, Que Haces Aqui? He begs her pardon, but she wants an explanation. She is so very embarrassed. The Angel tells her he was just curious and hangs his head and asks to be forgiven. Come on Ms Vikki give the guy a break! She says it's ok, but this is her very private room and noone, not even her hubby Nelson is allowed in here. She tells him the door was closed, but he tells her, no it was open. He tells her he heard the music and just came in, please forgive him and he promises, like a good repentant boy he won't ever do this again and he goes to leave. She is still very embarrassed and asks him what he saw. A very beautiful woman dancing, he says. He tells her goodnight and she makes him promise he will never tell anyone he saw her like this. He promises and goes to go again, but she calls him back again. He asks if there is anything she needs, she looks out of sorts. I wonder why??? She is standing at the bottom, on the landing of a set of stairs and he being tall, is standing two stairs above her. Her back is to him and he is talking to the back of her head. Just to set the scene. He is very close to the back of her neck and in his husky, bedroom voice tells her the rhythm of the music and her dancing reminded him of the land of his childhood and her dancing is like a palm tree being caressed by the wind. The Angel is almost resting his head on her neck and I bet she feels his breath on her neck. He begs her pardon and then finally goes. Now she really is all out of sorts, I know I would be, jus' sayin'. She is crying and putting her hand on the shoulder he just about touched. Then she smiles thru her tears and then really smiles as if there are a thousand candles lighting her smile.
Back to slutty Kendra. Nelson has gone now, thank goodness, no repeat of the my eyes, my eyes!!! Anyhoo, she is calling Odette Longoria with some chisme about Ms Vikki. Odette is so not happy, and says she better have a damn good reason for calling her this late in the evening. Kendra tells Odette about some kind of meeting with a client that Ms Vikki is having on Friday. Odette is over the moon to hear it.
Ms Vikki is still in her hideaway and is joined by Tomasina who is getting grief for leaving the door open. Tomasina has paused in front of the picture and says it's him, isn't it, meaning the Angel. Ms Vikki says it's just his face nothing more, but I have to say, it is lookin' alot like the Angel, except more muscle tone. She explains to Tomasina she studied art in Italy, after all. Tomasina says okey dokey and informs Ms Vikki that Nelson is home and in their bedroom. Ms Vikki says ok, but to make sure this door stays closed from now on. Tomasina takes another look at that painting and says it's beautiful. Tomasina now wants to know how Ms Vikki's novel is going? Ms Vikki informs her the novel is coming along slowly but the inspiration is still there, well, we all know who the inspiration is, now don't we. Tomasina wishes Ms Vikki a good night and then starts to straighten the room, when she comes across Ms Vikki's laptop with some of the novel on it. So what does Tomasina do??? She starts to read it and then copies some pages, Ruh Roh. She likes it cause I think Tomasina thinks it's steamy!!!!
Nelson is in the bedroom and is sitting on the side of the bed, and Ms Vikki comes in. He had a hard day, yeah right, boinking is such hard work, doncha know. He had meetings and is just plumb tuckered out, doncha know. Poor Ms Vikki, she just wanted some love and affection from her eva lovin' husband, who is clearly not lovin' her. Well she goes in to the bathroom, he gets under the covers and while she is gettin' ready for bed, he flashes back to the boinking of Kendra, blech!!!!
Now Ms Vikki has gotten in to bed and thinks of the dancing she did and the Angel catching her and at the same time the Angel wakes up and thinks about Ms Vikki dancing and they both smile and try to go to sleep. Happy dreams you two.
Meanwhile, down in the kitchen, Tomasina is in her jammies, reading that steamy novel and having some coffee. She thinks of herself as the femme fatale of this novel and dreams of kissing the Angel, and is pursing her lips lost in her fantasy when Polita comes upon her and scares Tomasina almost to death, lol.
It's a couple of days or weeks later, I think and Chrissie has come to vist Paula, but Paula blows her off cause her phone is ringing.
Felipe is calling Guzmancito again, about that moola he needs for the loan sharks. Guzmancito says he'll get it.
Lili is in the kitchen with Jean Marie having a little visit while she waits for her Papa. Vikki and Tomasina come in with a plant that is almost dying it is in sorry shape. Ms Vikki doesn't know whether to save it or just pitch it in the trash. Well Lili, to the rescue. Lili want to know the plants name. They have to have a name not just the type plant it is or the genus of the plant. The Angel has come in and is watching this exchange, and tells Ms Vikki that Lili is a miracle worker with plants so Ms Vikki tells her to give it her best shot.
Paula has come down to see Chrissie to apologize for blowing her off the other day. Chrissie says it's ok and invites her in. Paula has brought a gift of chocolate, which Chrissie tries right away and loves. So now the digging for info comes up again. Paula asks about the tamales recipe and wants to know if it's Chrissie, of course not she says, it's her Mama's recipe and her Mama's name is Candelaria. She lives in Alamos, Sonora and is single. Paula had asked about Chrissie's Papa, but Chrissie said he's either gone or dead, for many years and her Mama is a one woman man, like Chrissie is with the Angel and Paula is so not happy with what she is hearing. She also wanted to know if her Mama would ever come to visit. which Chrissie nixes. Just about this time Chrissie's Mama calls, shocked look on Paula's face!
Lili is outside with the plant and is trying to pick a name out for it. She decides to call it Adelita. Angel was with her but Polita came out to get him. So back to Lili and the plant. Lili says to the plant they need lots of love and nutrients for the soil. She runs into Guzmancito who joins her. She explains what she is doing with the plant and that if you water and take care of the plants they release beautiful perfume and the color is fab, when Nikki comes along. Guzmancito and Lili's faces are very close, like kissing range close and you can clearly tell Nikki is jealous. So Nikki wants to know if Lili is Guzmancito's girlfriend, Ruh Roh, Nikki looks like she is spoiling for a fight, there is a fight over the plant, Nikki accuses Lili of stealing it and tries to take it away, Lili calls her a fresa girl, some of this I didn't get and then Guzmancito intervenes. That that is all for this epi.
Oh, almost forgot a scene. It is when Nelson has left and Salsero has come to see Kendra and he's pithed that Kendra slept, er, boinked Nelson, so mad in fact he looks like he wants to beat the crap out of Kendra. Kendra doesn't want her face messed up, and he reminds her he saved her from that guy when she was a ho! Salsero is jealous doncha know, he can't take it. Well, Kendra says she has Nelson in the palm of her hand now. Besides, his jealousy is like an aphrodisiac for her. She still has on that same slutty outfit she had on with Nelson, big time yuk, and Salsero and Kendra get down to the bidness of boinking, oh, my eyes.

One detail that I think changes the context--Big Angel gave Vicki a CD of a song they heard on the radio. track 5 was the particular song. She plays that in her artsy hidey-hole later and I think that's partly why Big Angel went in--he heard the song. I also think he said that her dance was sensual and reminded him of the country of his youth? Not sure, but it wasn't quite as unprofessional as it could have been--but he shouldn't have. His wife is home making tamales! Not appropriate, but probably Big Angel is in denial about it.
I do some painting and find her studio (and artwork) not credible. Some of the artwork looks like it was done by different artists and her palette was unwieldy and huge! But whatever, I guess.

Madelaine: Fantastic! So enjoyed your fun and witty recap. "Then she smiles thru her tears and then really smiles as if there are a thousand candles lighting her smile" was just lovely and conveyed all the emotions of that scene perfectly.

I am liking Vikki/Erica more daily. She did a fantastic job with her scene and the interplay between her and Juan was perfect. The smile that he gave her coming down the stairs was heart melting. Still, I'm with Elvira in that Christina is home so I'm sure Vikki and Angel's interactions will stay within the bounds of unacted on attraction and flirtation.
Dances with Sunglasses can really move! He and Nelson are panting over Kendra (yuck). Salserso might consider losing the jealousy - seducing Nelson was part of the master plan, wasn't it? I suspect he didn't like it happening sooner rather than later.

I couldn't get enough of that song that Vicki was dancing to in her art studio. It has a strong beat and soaring vocals.

Kendra is a really sick puppy. She seems to have a violent relationship with Salsero, who I now hate because he roughs up his woman. Domestic violence is never pretty. This telenovela is covering a lot of social issues.

I also missed a part between Salsero and Kendra, when they were fighting.Evidently Kendra used to be a ho, shock and awe, lol, and Salsero rescued her from that. I also added that to the recap. Thanks to y'all for the great comments and the help when I miss something :)

Wonderful recap Mads, even on the fly. I also very much enjoyed the scene of Vicky dancing (although I could have done without the air painting visual effects). I dance around like that all the time in my condo. So much fun. Of course, I don't ever have a hunky bodyguard intruding on my silly solo dance. Boy was she embarrassed. Erica B. did a fabulous job in that scene. She looked 10 years younger and very sexy.

He needs to realize he’s beginning to stray in his heart and mind and put a stop to it.

I feel bad for Cris. When JA phoned her before bedtime, he told her he loved her. Cris may even be worrying less about Vicki now. She's a country girl whose home has been burned down and is now trying to adapt in the big city pretty much alone (with Lili gone all day, while Angel is surrounded by a warm, funny staff at Miss Vicki's mansion. Hope her tamale catering takes off cause she needs a break.
Thanks for the recap. I haven't seen the episode yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing the interaction between Nikki and Lili, and the scene with Vic dancing in her sanctuary.
I do like Vikki, so I feel terrible saying that I'm more interested in the side stories of her two sisters. Why did Anibal kidnap his granddaughter? Is she the same age as Nikki and Lili? And what will Christina say when she finds out that she's related to the woman she hates most?

I do think Anibel would leave Paula, if Cristina's mother wanted him. She was the love of his life. But I don't think Cristina's mother would want him. My guess is she left him and didn't tell him about being pregnant with Cristina out of pride, and that she still loves him but hates his arrogance with women. Cris has a lot of fight in her and I bet she got it from her mother.
What I loved most about the aftermath of the scene with Vicky and JA was the closeup of her face which captured the tears and the torn expressions of "Oh, this was really wonderful" and the opposite expression of "omigod what have I gotten myself into?" All the while, Nelson is bonking Kendra. I LOVED this whole scene from beginning to end.

Niece in MD- So agree with you about Salsero needing a better henchmate, lol. She has ruined his plans more than once. He is cautious and she does whatever she feels like doing. Poor Arriaga was the target of her whims, ie burning down the house.
Vivi- I agree about the dancing of Vikki, she did look ten years younger. I like the dynamic of the Angel and Ms Vikki, but I feel bad for Chrissie, Nelson not so much. Also thanks about the dancing part with Ms Vikki and the Angel. That one was hard to translate. I kept lookiing up the words and also reviewed the scene a couple of times.
Niece in MD- I too hope Chrissie's tamale bidness takes off. She is a country girl, but very jealous. I hope her jealousy doesn't overcome her.
Toni- It hasn't been revealed yet how Anibal got the bebe, but I am assuming he took the bebe shortly after Adriana gave birth to her. I too wonder what Chrissie will think, once she finds out her sister is the person she hates the most, and also she is Adriana's sister too.
Vivi- I agree about the dancing of Vikki, she did look ten years younger. I like the dynamic of the Angel and Ms Vikki, but I feel bad for Chrissie, Nelson not so much. Also thanks about the dancing part with Ms Vikki and the Angel. That one was hard to translate. I kept lookiing up the words and also reviewed the scene a couple of times.
Niece in MD- I too hope Chrissie's tamale bidness takes off. She is a country girl, but very jealous. I hope her jealousy doesn't overcome her.

Anon 12:04- So with you about that scene. It was very sensual but yet very down to earth and you could feel their emotions. This TN may be light and fluffy, but I have to say the range of these actors is wonderful.

Salsero says that Kendra used to be a prostitute. OK, so she's doing national ad campaigns. Wouldn't one of her former customers have come forward by now?
OK, please don't kill me, but I don't like Vikki's smile. I don't know if she's had her lips plumped up too much or what. Her mouth looks the same when she's smiling or when she's upset. The only reason I can tells she's upset is when there are tears in her eyes.
P.S. I do love her and Angel together. He looks at her like she's "something delicious to eat". (Jake from Twilight) But it's true. He's a good actor. Sometimes, some of these actors have so much chemistry that I wonder if they were locked in a hotel room together for a month before filming began. Has anyone ever watched Sortilegio? OMG!

I am enjoying Erica's acting and she does have chemistry with Eduardo. That was a very sensual scene though nothing happened but her dancing and his poetic words. Nothing should happen until Chrissie meets her fate whenever and whatever that will be....I presume.

If we're going to talk about Vicki's looks, she shouldn't wear that black eye makeup. For someone as fair as she is, she should be wearing a lighter colored eye liner. Something in the browns. She looks goth with that godawful black.

Cynderella- I too wondered about why noone recognized Kendra after her stint as a ho, lol. Maybe she's had some "work" done to change her "look", lol.
