Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, Capítulo 89, Thursday, January 17, 2019; Susana says YES!

We open with Eugenio admitting to the family that he has Alzheimer’s Disease. They all react with the sadness as though he just told them he had a week to live. Imelda starts crying, Polita cries. Tulio tells him to have faith. Eugenio says he is going to fight not to forget his family.

In the park, Pancho and family are awaiting Susana. He is getting ready to propose. He has a setup ready with flowers. Inside is a little box with flowers and a diamond ring. He gets down on one knee and asks, “Will you marry me?” She says YES! He puts the ring on her and the confetti drops. However the children say, “not so fast, you have to be novios first.” The kids meet in a huddle and decide to give the relationship their blessing. The kids applaud and are very happy for them. Susana tells the children that her ring is a symbol that not only are she and Pancho together, but they are both together WITH them.

At Gabe and Dani’s place, Guido says he is good in the kitchen. Dani is on complete bedrest for her pregnancy. Later Gabe brings her bear and tells her how much he loves her and the triplets. As he kisses her, Guido the psycho passes in the hallway and looks in on them. [This was wayyyy creepy]

Next we see Guido on the phone talking to someone about the status of his grandfather’s will. He wants to know if there have been any changes in it. He wants to make sure that he is the sole heir of his grandfather’s will.

Diana fights with Hugo about her losing the Principal position to him.

Later in the hallway of the Córsega apartments, Polita asks Audi if she could attend one of the Bible lectures with him. This makes him very happy. Ari comes downstairs and sees them both. He begins telling them that the last few months have been very confusing to him, but he is the same person he always has been. He breaks down into tears. He says, “Like the saying goes, your heart is never wrong.” [I guess in TNs that is always true. Adjusting my beanie now.]

Polita tells Ari she loves him and supports him no matter what. Audi says he cannot support what is unnatural and cites that God made man and woman to be compliments to one another

Massimo is with Imelda flirting with her in front of her shop. After she goes inside, he sees Crisanta and starts flirting with her too. [Seems Massimo is a bit of a “Rico Suave”] She is going out to buy chocolate for her grandchildren and he offers to accompany her.

At Susana’s house, she and Susana arrive home and run into Axel with his suitcases. He asks if he can move back home. Of course she tells him he can. Then he notices her ring and she tells him that Pancho asked her to marry him and she accepted. But Axel does not look happy about this at all. Axel tells her that she and Pancho are too different and that relationship can never work. He leaves the room telling them to think about the consequences of their decision and how it will affect their children. [Now Axel wants to be an adult?]

Axel then decides he wants to move out, but Susana is not able to talk him into staying before Axel and Pancho got into it too much. Susana repeats to Axel that this is his home, but will not obligate him to stay. So Axel takes off.

Later, Susana and Pancho seem to decide how soon to get married.

Diego and Temo break up. They tell each other that they are best friends but nothing else. Temo tells Diego he loves Ari so it’s better that they end it. They tearfully decide to stay friends.

Guido finds out that he isn’t the only one in the will. Gabriel is named in the will too, so he throws a temper tantrum.

Daniela receives an email from Blanca full of good advice. She reads it in front of the family who are visiting her. Eugenio starts to cry. Daniela asks him what is wrong and Eugenio says it’s because he heard Blanca’s words and he just misses her so much.

Ari sees Temo outside crying and wants to know what is wrong. But then he tells Ari that Diego left to go back to Toluca and that they are no longer “novios.”

We have a time jump and we see a very pregnant Daniela caressing her tummy and talking to her triplets.

We see David Skyping with Ari, Frida, Sebas, Julio, and Lupita. Ari says he is going to declare his love for Temo. David is very surprised.

A young woman is riding her bicycle on the sidewalk where Pancho is walking. They have a head on collision with each other with Pancho dropping some vegetables. Both of them end up on the sidewalk. After dusting themselves off and after a little small talk, they introduce each other. Her name is Grecia. He asks what she is doing there and she reveals that her best friend told her to meet her there. Then she says it’s Susana Córsega. Pancho laughs and says that Susana is his future wife. Grecia says, “So you are the famous Francisco Lopez?”

Sometime later, we see Dani and Gabe together and Dani says they are going to reveal the babies gender at a party. She has her tummy painted and Gabe goes to kiss the tummy and gets paint all over his lips. Then suddenly Gabe gets a pain in his stomach. Dani advises him to see a doctor. Gabe tells Daniela that he will never leave and they are forever.

Then psycho Guido knocks on the door. They ask him to take a few pictures and invite him to the party. [Wrong move! You need to throw him out and make him go far, far away!]

In Susana’s office, Axel finally gives his blessing to Susana regarding Pancho. She tells Axel she would like to get married in the church. Then he surprises her by volunteering to walk her down the aisle when she marries Pancho in the church. Susana is ecstatic!

This was another combined episode consisting of #91 and #92.

Yes, this was another two episodes sliced and diced and compressed into one like a sausage into its casing. LOL

I liked the time jump, though, that allowed some of these plots like the Temo/Diego, the Axel against Susana/Pancho, Dani’s pregnancy ones to run their course.

Thanks, Cynthia. Excellent as usual. You always have the best screen caps. Yes, it looks like Massimo is “Rico Suave”. I remember you mentioned that the actor Patricio Castillo (Nonno/Massimo) was in “La candidata”. Yes, he played that cruel old mafioso Omar.I am always so impressed how well trained these actors are that they can do drama and comedy equally as well.

Anyway, I loved the proposal complete with the animated touches.

It looks like Grecia will add some fun to the story. I like her.

Superb recap Cynthia and the screen shots are incredible.

”Seems Massimo is a bit of a “Rico Suave” and "[Wrong move! You need to throw him out and make him go far, far away!]" had me nodding in vigorous agreement and smiling away.

Although Susana and Pancho are very saccharine, I really like the couple although I'm still trying to reconcile that they seem mismatched, although better together. Glad grumpy Axel relented at last.

"Audi says he cannot support what is unnatural...". Until Audi has a change of heart and accepts his son, there will be no chance of him reconciling with his family. I don't know what it will take to have that occur.

Cynthia, I believe you had mentioned Nonno's will being a factor and you so nailed it! I thought he was psychotic. Not greedy and psychotic.

"Guido says he is good in the kitchen". This really struck fear in my heart. As was mentioned yesterday, it's really difficult seeing him so close to Gabi and Dani. I can't shake the feeling something bad is really going to happen to someone (speculation not spoiler).

I'm trying to recall the last time one of these prime time TNs wasn't chopped to bits, leaving massive footage on the cutting room floor. Inevitably, there will be some important scenes we'll miss. I have to say though, if they have to do it, I rather they do it now, now that a few of the most important players are missing. And as you noted Jarifa, some of the stories are having the chance to be resolved. Anything that reduces Guido's screen time gets no argument from me.

Thanks again Cynthia!

Diana

Thank you , Cynthia, for your recap.

The proposal scene was so nice, and barely(!) enough to balance the sadness/darkness of all the other scenes.

Why won't someone tell Mr. Perfect a/k/a Audifaz that hats are not worn indoors?

Axel finally approving of the marriage felt like his days are numbered on this show.

Messes despues and Gabe is finally feeling the poison? Guido is taking his time.

Meses ... not messes....although autocorrect might be in to something. 😉

doris, I laughed at "Why won't someone tell Mr. Perfect a/k/a Audifaz that hats are not worn indoors?"

Many, many years ago there was a show "The Bowery Boys" and they wore hats. All the time. Audi could have been a member. A not flattering comment :)

Has there been any chance for Guido to start poisoning (again)?? I don't think so and agree with you if not, it's absurd for Gabe to get sick after all this time.

Diana

doris, love your avatar.

Geez, a cupcake would be nice right around now. Any kind of cake for breakfast sounds delish.

Diana

HEADS UP: If my recap is not up tonight, it will be up tomorrow morning sometime.

Audi and his hat: there has been a trend for men keeping their caps on their heads while indoors for the last several years in my neck of the woods. Maybe it is more of the same just Audi style.

Cynthia, thanks for the recap and screenshots...sterling as always. Slicing again...ARGHH but like Jarifa, it had it's benefits.

Diana, re- Guido-Gabe-Dani..."I can't shake the feeling something bad is really going to happen to someone (speculation not spoiler). Guido is up to no good; something is bound to happen. He does have a lot of opportunity to poison Dani and/or Gabe since "Guido says he is good in the kitchen"...he's been cooking for them :-(

Was anyone else surprised by how small Dani's stomach is...and she is having triplets?

Thank you, Cynthia.

Rico suave...anyone remember that singer from back in the day?

Even one baby makes for a big bump as months pass. Dani's tiny bump is Unrealistic.

I am glad that Susana and Pancho provide some happy scenes , but they just do not seem a believable match to me. I guess the writers are going for the opposites attract angle.

I am not happy with the increasing struggles and angst. It is pulling me down. Too many struggling people and a guy trying to poison a pregnant woman. Ugh.

A little snow last night, but 4-8 inches of snow predicted here for Saturday into Sunday ...and temperatures dropping. Monday =14 degrees.

Thanks everyone! Yeah Jarifa, I noticed things seemed to move along pretty quickly last night. I wondered if it was two shows sliced and spliced into one. I have no access to the original shows, so I watch the shows the same time everyone else does and have no clue as to what the future will bring with any of this. All I can see is that Guido looks dangerous. My TN beanie picked up on that radar right away.

Susanlynn, yes I used to love that song, "Rico Suave" by Gerardo Mejia. He is now a Christian youth pastor in Ashland, Kentucky. You can read about him here:
https://outreachmagazine.com/ideas/church-profiles/25517-welcome-to-grace.html

Audi needs to learn MERCY! Even if you do not agree or support how a person is living, you can still show mercy and love.

It was funny to see David all alone in a NYC apartment on the computer doing Skype.

I am finding Patricio Castillo very entertaining this time! In La Candidata, he was a horrible character.

Loved all the screen shots, Cynthia. And though I'm like Susanlynn, not able to really get excited about Susana and Pancho as a couple, at least SOMEONE is happy right now, and not in obvious danger from anybody. Otherwise, just a hot mess at the moment.

Ah, men wearing hats indoors. My husband is now so afraid of catching a cold, he wears his jacket and hat indoors, even when he's got the thermostat at 72. Granted, he doesn't have much hair anymore (heck! neither do I!) but still. However, the ball cap turned backwards and other contraptions of that ilk, do seem to have turned that old etiquette rule on its head.

Have a great Friday everyone. Gray and damp here. An Ohio specialty. But we're supposed to get a ton of snow tomorrow.

Judyb...one of my hub's trademarks was his baseball cap. He usually wore one whenever he went anywhere or was outdoors. He accumulated quite a huge collection. He got one every place we visited and had lots with golf related names on them (ex. Titelist), but he didn't wear them indoors . Lots of old etiquette rules seem to have been left by the wayside in recent years...... que lastima.

P.s. How much snow did you get? They are predicting 4-8 inches Saturday into Sunday and frigid weather...4 degrees Sunday night ..14 degrees in Monday. #iamwinter

Last weekend we only got about 3 inches Susanlynn. And then yesterday the snow was lovely but didn't stick. Tomorrow though they are forecasting 5 inches or more. Sometimes the forecasts are "inflated" but then again, sometimes you get slammed even worse than expected. We shall see. I finally invested in a puffy long coat with a hood (it was on sale) because I have been walking outdoors every day to combat my Kizzie cat asthma. Sure felt toasty yesterday when I tried it for the first time but it was only 35 degrees. On 21 degree days my face really freezes no matter what I do. But it really helps to clear my lungs. #gottagetoutdoors

JudyB, I see no snow unless my son who lives in Ohio (you are in the Columbus area too, right?) sends me pictures. The other day he sent me some darling pictures of my little granddaughter playing in the snow wearing her hooded pink jacket. It's been wet and rainy over here in Los Angeles but today we have sunshine, which is nice after nearly a week of rain.

Diana, Doris amd Rvg Chick: I too was surprised that Guido didn't make another attempt to abort Dani's babies or kill her. Maybe Gabe's gastritis shows that Guido is still up to no good? Or maybe he's just a bad cook, despite what he says. Of course, although several months have passed and Dani's barriga has grown, none of the Córcega or López children have grown an inch! I think that many years ago the great theater critic Alexander Woolcott wrote a snarky essay about that kind of thing in Broadway plays.

Thanks, Cynthia. Fine recap and pics. I'll confess I chickened out last night and didn't watch cause I didn't want to see Guido with his psycho plan.

Seems like Tulio of all people had the best response to Eugenio. Have faith.

So Nonno is a chauvinist? Why aren’t Gabe’s sisters in the will too?

Hoorah for the time jump! Now Guido can get discovered sooner and get the heave-ho.

Niecie: Regarding Gabe's sisters not being in the will, I think it goes back to that old time belief that the men inherit everything, not the female relatives.

Cynthia, thank you for another fine recap. I've been busy lately, only have a little time for TNs and Caray, unfortunately, but I love reading the recaps and comments.

Cupcakes for breakfast sound OK, but I'm with Nancy Pelosi, ice cream for breakfast. Re wearing hats indoors, absolutely taboo in the military, but just meh otherwise. Guys who wear cowboy hats seem to never take them off.

This show is now not nearly s good as it was. I suppose it can be blamed on Juan Osorio, I don't know. Whoever is responsible for the current darkness in the show, and all the offensive product placement, should be taken out and shot. OK, maybe not actually shot, but given the boot for sure.
