La herencia #77 Wednesday 10/19/22 Another Valuable PSA: Don't Poke the Bear Unless You are a Bear Yourself--OR-- Time to Get Going While the Going is Good

Things just keep getting crazier!

1. Juli shows up at Sara's door to tell her everything  she does not know: the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

2. Pedro wonders where Juan is coming from first accusing him of being a murderer and now a serial killer! Juan doesn't see how Pedro can take the fact that Deb is accusing him of having killed Dante so lightly. Pedro can only ask what proof she has and  smirks. Juan tells Pedro that he has  looked out for him his whole life but if he finds out that he had something to do with Dante's disappearance, he will have no pity for him.  Pedro asks when did he stop being his brother and turned him into a criminal?  Juan admits that he justified so many of Pedro's actions because of their mothers' return but his anger went too far. Pedro plays victim and insists that Juan turned his back on him and treated him like scum. He feels sometimes like Juan would like it if he were to disappear. He laughs through the smirk. Juan tells him he is so full of hatred and resentment that he is unable  to see reality as it is. Pedro wants  to know what Juan sees as reality.  Juan says that in spite of everything,  he wants them to  continue loving each other.  Pedro does  not look convinced.

3. Sara tells Juli that the last person she wants to have to argue with about something is her. Juli says she has to tell her something very important, nothing she would ever imagine.

4. While Tadeo is playing with Lucas, he suggests that Lucas give him  his father's rifle  and then they can keep it a secret, just like the secret that his father and his grandfather Modesto have.  Tadeo cannot tell Lucas what the secret is because then it wouldn't be a secret.  He also doesn't know what the secret is.

5. In tears, Juli tells Sara about he cancer diagnosis and about the prognosis.  Sara  tries to help suggesting there must be different kinds of treatments.  For Juli, that is a no go.  She will not do anything that might hurt her baby. She would prefer to remain strong and stay alive until the baby is born. Sara hugs her and tells her that she is so very sorry for what she is going through. Sara promises to look out for her child by being the best aunt and tells her she doesn't have to be alone with her illness. Sara is willing to be by her side from now until the end.  Sara can only advise her to  live and be happy so she can transfer that love of life to her baby. Juli agrees and only asks that Sara tell nobody about her situation. Sara agrees and tells Juli they are in this together.

6. Juan wishes things were different between him and Pedro with them working side by side and supporting each other, but Pedro left him. When he approached him all he ever found was Pedro's  negativity,  complaints, envy. Pedro says that really does prove he is a monster and now Juan is accusing him of murdering Dante all because of what  an ambitious woman told him.  Before that, a common worker accused him of torturing him, and Juan accused him. Sara says he threatened her and he believed her. Juan agrees and says it is because he knows who Pedro was and what he has turned into. He is  not  blind.  He hopes Pedro has the courage to face what he has done because their father forged men not cowards. Pedro informs him that very soon, he will find out who his brother Pedro del Monte really is.

7. Juli could never see herself asking Sara what she is going to: Can she trust her? Sara says of course.

8. Sara gets a flower delivery from Juan.  It is dozens and dozens of red roses. He sees her at his side at the hacienda.

9. Lucas tells Pedro that Tadeo said that Pedro and Modesto had a secret. It remains a mystery.  Juan gets a phone call. Lucas can tell it must be Sara from Juan's grin and he leaves. Juan and Sara  talk. He doesn't like her out there on her own especially with how Pedro is acting. He wants her back at the hacienda. She needs him, too,  and promises she will be back as soon as possible. Juan is going to talk to the police investigator to see if any progress has made on Dante's disappearance. Juan explains that he and Pedro had another argument and that things are going to come to a head very soon. Sara finds it odd how quickly Juan's mother disappeared and then what happened at eh refuge. Sara wonders about the  possibility of Deb and Pedro working together. Juan says that Pedro cannot stand Deb let alone do business with her. That being said, he has a strange feeling about that possibility.

10. The next day, Juan, Lucas and Mateo are all cooking.  They start talking about each one doing his own laundry when Modesto walks in. They are so happy to see him.

11. Juli meets with her father at the cantina. She wants to talk to him alone. They both feel so bad about what happened with her. Prospi notes that she is less tense now than before. Juli  says that after  she left the hospital,  she has gotten  a new view of life and what is really important like her family and her baby who is on its way.  That doesn't mean they can forget the mistakes  they made. Prospi thinks he has also learned from her experience, so he has decided to get a divorce. Juli understands him and respects his decision.  She wants to talk to him about her up coming wedding. It is going to be to Mateo. She smiles but Prospi cannot understand her decision. She insists that she is marrying him out of love. He has always been the man for her. Prospi  says there will be a marriage only over this dead body, especially since her mother and Severiano . . . Juli is sorry but at this point in her life nobody is going to dictate decisions that are hers to make.

12. Modesto is happy to be back. He just couldn't stay away. He talked to Cornelio. Everyone is happy snappy until Pedro comes into the kitchen. He doesn't want Modesto coming back to work there. His brothers tell him that is too bad because Modesto is staying. Modesto tells Pedro he will not even notice he is there. They can keep out of each others' way and everything will be fine.

13. Prospi doesn't get it. He will always take care of his children. That is why he is a father. It hurts Juli  to see what he is going through. He asks her not to marry Mateo. She is not alone. She an raise her child on her own.  Juli thinks back to reading the results of the DNA test she took that showed that Prospi was not her father but that Severiano was. Juli starts to sob telling Prospi that she has something else to tell him. She doesn't want to tell him because she knows it is going to hurt him. She tells him that she is Severiano's daughter by blood. Prospi falls apart.

14. Mateo gives Modesto the good news about him and Juli getting married. Pedro has to add his unsolicited sarcastic comments. Mateo tells him he can make fun all he wants but at least he hasn't wanted to be  Juan's shadow for his whole life. Pedro goes to hit  him but Juan stops him saying it is  too early to get into a fight. Lucas is ready to eat lunch. Juan has plans to go by the refuge with Mateo to see what damage Aurora did with her machinery. Pedro agrees to look into it instead so Mateo can go with Juan to Avocado Central. Juan asks him to give him a report of what he finds and also to stop fighting with Modesto. Lucas offers to make some food for Pedro take along. Pedro just looks bored by the offer.  Lucas and Mateo move to the dining room.

15. Juan tells Modesto that he knows that he didn't come back to the hacienda to work in the kitchen. Modesto smiles. Juan wants to know the truth. Modesto says he only  can say is that they all need his help. Juan informs him that Lucas said that Tadeo said that they (Modesto  and Pedro) had a secret.  Juan wants to know what that would be. Modesto says he is going to rip out the envy out that Pedro feels for him from the root.

16. Simón stops by Bea's to tell Sara that he filed a complaint with the police against her mother. He included everything Sara did, too, so she better get a good lawyer. Sara tells him that she has nothing to hide and as soon as she gets the notification of charges being filed, she will go in to give her statement. She has nothing to hide.

17. Juan is talking to Dante's wife about the location of his computer. She has no idea where it is.  Tadeo comes in and Juan asks him if he knows what the secret is that his father and his grandfather have. Tadeo has no idea. Juan offers to make him breakfast. Tadeo wants hotcakes for him and his robot Henry.  Juan starts inquiring about "Henry." Tadeo says that is his name just like the little dead man.

18. Juan gets a phone call. It is from  a bank. The bank employee  informs Juan that their customer Dante Alamillo has something that  that he kept for him.  Dante left the instructions that if he didn't contact the bank after two weeks, they were to call Juan  and hand over the contents of his safe deposit box.  He ants to know when Juan can come by the bank.

19. Deb drops  by Rosa's house to enjoy the hard times that Rosa is going through and her own triumph. She has the nerve task Berta for some coffee. That is not happening . Rosa cannot realize what kind of woman she is. She considered Deb her best friend. Rosa is sure she is gong to get her family's love back. Deb says people like Rosa do not change. How many other men did she cheat on Prospi with?  Rosa goes to slap Deb but Deb gabs her hand first. Berta steps up saying that Rosa will be happy again but Deb is going to end up alone. Deb says that is what abandoned women always say. It is better she leave. She is expecting some really good news from the hearing about their business dispute. The judge made a ruling. Rosa tells her to not celebrate so soon. She also has some news for Deb. She informs Deb that she  had it  herself had it in the very letters  that she was keeping, but never saw it.  Juli is Severiano's daughter.

20. Prospi sits and bawls with Juli over the bad news of her parentage. She insists that he always was and always will be her father but that is no consolation for Prospi.

21. Pedro comes down to the living room and Juan asks him about the robot being named Henry. Juan  asks Tadeo to tell  him the truth about where he got that name from.  Pedro tells him to stop asking and torturing his son with questions. He calls Tadeo to him (like a dog) Juan found the name and  Tadeo referring to the robot as the little dead man curious. Pedro tells him not to be paranoid. He makes light of it. Kids today have all of the information on the  internet at their disposal.  Tadeo makes up a whole story supporting his father's reasoning. Pedro blames Bea for not taking care of him. Pedro warns Tadeo about going on the internet. Tadeo readily agrees and gives Pedro a secret wink which pleases his father very much. Pedro tells Juan not to bother Tadeo anymore. They leave Juan alone. Lucas comes downstairs to see if Juan found out anything else but wisely Juan isn't talking.

22. Deb is over the edge  now accusing Rosa as being crazy saying that Juli is Severiano's daughter.   Rosa says Juli already knows and is sure she will be fighting for her part of the inheritance.

23. Paloma arrives on the scene with good news for Rosa from the court.  Rosa won in her lawsuit against Deb. Deb is having a bad day and Rosa cannot help but rub it in.

24. Juan meets with Lucas in the home office. Juan is worried that everything is going Pedro's way. Lucas says they cannot wait much longer before taking action. Juan tells him about the call from the bank. Lucas tells him to be careful with all of the shady stuff going. Juan hope that the contents of the box will help them expose Pedro. They both agree that Pedro was most likely involved in Henry's death.

25. Mateo comes in the office and asks what happened to Pedro. He was acting like a crazy man in the dining room. Juan decides they have to get to Avocado Central ASAP.

26. On the way to the SUV, Sara appears out of nowhere and tells Juan that she thinks that Pedro was the one who tried to extort him.  Juan says that is all the more reason  that she move back into the hacienda so he can protect her and the baby better. Sara agrees. He tells her to go with  him to the bank to pick up what Dante left him.

27. Back in the  dining room,  Lucas notices that Tadeo doesn't have on his school uniform. Pedro tells him that Tadeo will not be going any old school but the most expensive one he can find in Mexico. Pedro explains that he is going to go investigate the refuge so he doesn't need Lucas' help. Lucas expresses his desire for all of the  brothers to be like they were before and to get along. He says that he notices that Pedro gets blamed for everything trying to bait him to talk more but Pedro sees right though him with his "Mother Teresa of Calcutta " act that supports  Juan the "super hero." Lucas insists that Pedro knows him and how much he hates the fighting. The most important thing is that they always were and are united. Pedro isn't talking.

28. Prospi arrives at the house and  asks Berta to leave. He needs to talk to Rosa. After a long introduction of how Juli has more character than either of them and how much he adored Rosa, Prospi tells Rosa that he knows that Severiano was Juli's birth father. He feels like the stupidest man on earth. How much did she have to hate him to have done  this to him??? He demands to know if his other two daughters are really his. She finally says yes, they are. She asks for forgiveness but he has none to give. She asks if she should go out to the street to be stoned or what? Prospi is going to to give her time to explain everything to her daughters. Afterwards, he wants her out of his house. (Yet, another woman whose name is not on the title of her house that she shares with her husband??? It happens in novela after novela. What is that story anyway?)   Prospi leaves.

29. Pedro is going out to the refuge. Pedro says he and Lucas will continue their talk some other time. Lucas tells him he loves him and gives him a hug. Pedro barely looks at him.

30.  Lucas notices that Pedro left his phone and manages to copy some of Pedro's files onto his phone. Pedro catches him with his phone in his hand and snatches it away. Lucas says he was going to find him to return it to him. Pedro doesn't believe him and calls him a busybody.

31. Paloma stops by to see Simón at Avocado Central.  He asks if something is wrong. She says she was just coming from Rosa's house. Simón is not happy with that,  her continuing to be a lawyer, and her friends. She has had it with him and with the way he talks to her.  Just because they are  married does not make her his slave or that she is going to do what he tells her to. They have to respect each other. He says he is only telling her what isn't good for her. Well, Paloma doesn't care. She is going to do what she wants like  singing again with Bea. Bea needs  money so they are going to perform.  Simón tells her she isn't going to sing with Bea.

32. Agustín is walking through the refuge when Pedro sees him. Pedro addresses him as "and old decrepit  man" and wants to know what he is doing there.  Pedro yells at him to get off  his land. Agustín tries to explain that he made a wrong turn forgetting that he no longer has a house on the property  but now he is leaving.  Pedro blocks his path so he gets the message. Agustín says that he does.  He adds that he hopes that God forgives Pedro for  everything that he has done to them.  Pedro says he always was against his father and San Juan  allowing him live on the hacienda. Agustín laughs in is face.  He finds it difficult to believe that Pedro can call it an hacienda when he spends his days sitting in a chair.  His parents were the ones who could call it an hacienda with their  blood and sweat that they invested in it.   He thinks that Pedro is just an ambitious man who has no idea what every single centimeter cost his parents. His parents filled his pockets with money, now Juan does the same. Pedro doesn't like the truth he is  hearing and grabs Agustín by the collar.  He tells him to shut his mouth or he will smash it. Agustín dares him to do it. He calls Pedro a damn phony. Pedro pushes him backwards on the ground and tells him to die!!!.  Agustín writhes in pain. Pedro  stares at him.

33. Lucas starts to replays a recording form Pedro's phone web Modesto comes into the  home office. Lucas urgently tells him to close the door behind him.  The recording is of Henry communicating with Pedro about how much he wanted. Henry wanted 2% of the outside production with and also the Santa  Catalina Refuge. Pedro says that wasn't part of the deal.  Henry told him to rethink it because when his brother was dethroned, he would have many investors lined up to do business with

34. Pedro and Sara bring the contents of the safe deposit back to Juan's office. They close the blinds.  They open the box and Sara finds a thumb drive. Juan finds a letter telling him that inside the box he would find all of secrets that he was keeping.

35. Agustín is still in great pain on  the ground. He begs Pedro to help him. Instead, Pedro confesses to having tortured Brayan. If he didn't kill him it was because you are supposed to feel sorry for poor people. His mother got what she deserved.  As for Dante, he was a traitorous dog that he shut up forever more (he sure did when he cut out his tongue).  Pedro puts his foot on Agustín's chest telling him that hell is here on earth so  he is going to do him a favor by taking him out of this world and into the land that he loves so much next to those other jerks. He will be buried here at Santa Catalina so he can always see it.  As Pedro steps on his neck, he tells him not to worry about his family, he will take care of them. He steps a little harder and chokes Agustín to death. Pedro crosses himself and tells Don Agustín to rest in peace. He takes some soil and sprinkles it making  the sign of the cross over his body.

36. Dante has left a recording for Juan. He is to view it with his other brothers, not alone.  He knows that Juan is a  man of honor like his father and will do what he asks him to do. The password for the laptop is a the end of the memo.

37. Paloma tells Simón that he has no right to tell her what she is going to do or not going to do. Simón  asks her to put herself in his place with all of these guys ogling her. Her signing isn't the problem.  It is  where she is singing and the image she is creating. It isn't right for a wife of a Del Monte to do. He begs her not to humiliate him any more.  If Bea needs money, he can just give it to her. How would she feel if women were looking at him wanting him like the men look at her?  What would she think? Paloma admits that she saw signs that he was machista and a controlling person.  She thought he would change but now she sees it is only going to get worse. It was a mistake getting married to him.  It is time for her to put some distance between them  before he does more damage to her. He swears he would never hurt her.  She informs him she is  going to support her friend and if he loves her, he will support her. She leaves.

38. Juan tells Sara he is  going to respect Dante's wishes.  He is  going to see the video with all of his brothers. Sara questions his decision.  There  might be evidence agains Pedro and Pedro could use it to his advantage. Juan has made his decision and will not change it. Juan gets a video call from Pedro. He found Agustín dead at the refuge. He shows him the body.

39. Lucas tries to call Juan. Lucas  is with Modesto as Tadeo spies  on them from the staircase.  Juan isn't answering.

40. Sara and Juan are upset over  Agustín's death. Juan will take care of notifying his family. Pedro found him. Juan  doesn't want to think ill of Pedro but . . . Sara adds that that Pedro and Agustín did not get along well.  . . . but then there are places to go and things to do.  Juan  is going to the hacienda and Sara is going to the  cantina. They make a point of showing us that Juan locks up the Dante box in a safe in his office.  On the way out,  Juan tells Simón and Mateo that Agustín is dead.

Jarifa, if only your wise PSA had been heeded! You did masterful justice to tonight’s episode where our beloved and not at all loved characters spiraled further down a path strewn with murder and mayhem.

There were so few light moments, shall we begin there? I loved the dozens of roses and Juan’s delighted school boyish grin when Sara called him. Mateo and Lucas cooking together and Lucas’ oh so obvious attempts at trying to convince Pedro he is on his side. Pedro’s “Mother Teresa of Calcutta” had me smiling. Rosa’s clothes are improving to the point the rose shirt and black pants was the most fashionable outfit she has worn to date.

On a far more serious note, Sara comforting Juli who not only tried to ruin her life but kill her and her unborn child was humbling. Forgiveness in the midst of madness.

“Mateo tells him he can make fun all he wants but at least he hasn't wanted to be Juan's shadow for his whole life” was a small but significant strike against Pedro. Well said. Next, the inexplicable. “Simón is not happy with that, her continuing to be a lawyer, and her friends”. How dare Paloma practice at what she worked so hard to achieve! And as for friends, of course she should give them up. Simon has no friends, so why should she?

Even as the evidence against Pedro continues to mount, he finds another victim, a gentle soul who deserved to live longer and die peacefully.

I wish Prospi had taken time to process everything that Juli told him. Casting Rosa out of the house into the street was the action of a man who has not yet accepted that he himself is guilty of what he has charged Rosa with. I hope their final chapter has not been written.

I expect there will be more sadness and yes, even more death. Jarifa, your superb writing has been the light that has carried us through the darkness, and I am so appreciative for all you have done. Thank you.

Diana

Thank you, Jarifa, I couldn't wait to read yout take on things. As we near the end, every scene is becoming edge of your seat drama and nobody is safe.

Augustin definitely poked the bear and Modesto is doing the same. Moving back into the ranch and close to Pedro is crazy, I don't know what he plans to do, "keep an eye" on him?

I was cheering for Sara when she told Juan to watch the video immediately and get this over with. But of course San Juan had to "respect" Dante's wishes, a man who betrayed him and lied to him and his family their entire lives. Wanna bet that the box misteriously dissappears before Juan can get back to it?

Julieta choosing to tell Sara the truth but not her family makes no sense. She doesn't want her last months to be a constant pain, but how will they feel when they realize they were spending their last moments with her and weren't even aware of it? I'm glad Julieta explained why she's not seeking treatment, it makes sense. I don't think she deserves such a big punishement, they should have locked her up in the Manicomio for a while, while Mateo raised their child and once out, she should have had to work to regain everyone's trust... instead, she's dying, nobody knows about it, but they still accept her with open arms back into the Del Monte family. I was sure Prospi would protest, but with the paternity secret being discovered, he'll have bigger worries.

More later!

Jarifa, thank you for yet another superb account of this episode that seems to indicate that the grim darkness of this show will last until the very end .

Okay, Modesto , your silence has allowed Pedro to kill again ..poor, old Augie. I was shocked that the writers went there . I expected that Deb would be Pedro's final victim .

I still am stunned at how different Rosa looks.

More later .

Jarifa: Good Job on the recap of last night's episode.

Poor Prospi: finding out that Scumbag Seve's the biological father of Buji Julieta was too much.

Plus RIP Nosy Agustin. I KNEW the second he was confronting Psycho Pedro, it was NOT going to end well.

Adriana: Gut feeling that Prospi & Buji Rosa end up together somehow. I like her black hair.

Diana: Gullible Paloma telling Crazy Simon where to shove it was 🤔

Steve Boudreaux

Thank you for your wonderful recap, Jarifa.

I just love this sentence--- "Deb drops by Rosa's house to enjoy the hard times that Rosa is going through and her own triumph. "
So perfectly stated Jarifa.

"Juli shows up at Sara's door to tell her everything she does not know: the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth"
Did anyone else feel cheated when Juli left out that tiny detail about being Sev's bio-daughter?

Rosa doesn't know that Prospi now knows Juli is not his bio-kid. So does she think Debs will keep news that to herself? Gah.
This whole scene was worth it, just to see the cara de impactada look on Debora's face. We have never seen her struck speechless and I had to laugh.

Run, Paloma, RUN!!! Simón is exhibiting classic controller/abuser behaviors. Men like that do not change, no matter what telenovela writers want us to believe. RUN!!!!! Divorce him asap!!!

Not Don Augustín!!!!!!! Pedro should burn in hell.

Thank you Jarifa! Wonderful, snappy recap and you filled in all the details from when my mind wandered!! :)

I can’t imagine how Modesto goes from terrified of Pedro to confronting him directly AND moving back in to the house to personally keep an eye on him….. but I am not going to ask. I am just going to grab my beanie as Doris suggested….

Lucas is an equally bad secret agent

Just hearing Henry’s voice message for 10 seconds reminded me of how much that character annoyed the crap out of me! Lol I too can’t believe Juan would choose to honor Dante’s request!!! Stupid stupid stupid

" (Yet, another woman whose name is not on the title of her house that she shares with her husband??? It happens in novela after novela. What is that story anyway?) "
I have to wonder if this is an accepted norm in Mexico. I had a cleaning lady for several years, both she and her husband were from Mexico. She worked part-time, so she contributed financially to the family, but when they finally bought a house the deed was titled in her husband and their two sons' names. I confirmed it online (public records here are online). So, who knows?

Thanks, all, for stopping by the patio.

Diana, "Simon has no friends, so why should she? " Exactly. It sure looks like Paloma is having buyer's remorse but is increasingly open to "returning" old Simón. Loved her steely look when she was talking to him. The Simón part is so well-written because Simón really doesn't have a clue that he could be doing anything harmful. He seems genuinely confused he has been so culturally brain-washed.

Adriana, "I was cheering for Sara when she told Juan to watch the video immediately and get this over with. But of course San Juan had to "respect" Dante's wishes, a man who betrayed him and lied to him and his family their entire lives. Wanna bet that the box misteriously disappears before Juan can get back to it?" ITA. They spent way too much time showing us how Juan was locking Dante's box up.

Susanlynn, "Okay, Modesto , your silence has allowed Pedro to kill again ." No truer comment. Modesto better have his head on a swivel at the hacienda. Also, Pedro has three days to add to his body count.

"Plus RIP Nosy Agustin. I KNEW the second he was confronting Psycho Pedro, it was NOT going to end well." You and me both, Steve.

doris, thanks for the info on property ownership. If that is the custom, it again puts women in a subordinate position. Like I should be surprised . . . "Not Don Augustín!!!!!!! Pedro should burn in hell." Yep, and that murder was cold. It looks like Pedro likes to be up close and personal in his kills. He is truly a psycho but will Juan EVER smarten up???

Darcy, I" too can’t believe Juan would choose to honor Dante’s request!!! Stupid stupid stupid." Some how the choice of "stupidity" based on honoring the wishes of a missing man rather than doing what is logical to maybe even save him, is beyond me. They do not know he is dead yet no matter what his instructions were. They have not seen his body. Frustrating.

Susanlynn, not three days but three EPISODES.

Thanks, Jarifa, another distressing episode where nothing is really solved so close to the final. Everyone is still pretty clueless. I feel as if no one is making any progress toward a grand finale!

Why didn’t Juli tell Sara about she and Pedro plotting against her. She could have left out her part in the attempt on the baby. But Sara needs that info. And I didn’t think it was up to Juli to tell her dad he wasn’t her bio dad. That’s Rosa’s job

Modesto moving back is crazy, and Sara too. Just make it easier for the killer to get you. And now two more lives have been lost because Modesto kept quiet.

It looks like Tadeo is going to be a spy for Pedro. He could even lead someone to Pedro. If Pedro wants Sara, or anyone, in his torture chamber Tadeo could bring them.

There’s a lot to discover and only three more episodes. I think some things will never be found out. Like the wine and the loose horse. Maybe even the truth of Don Augusto’s death.

I am on the edge of my seat nightly! Even though I’m not crazy about any of the characters.

Liz

Liz, I so agree about being on the edge of my seat nightly even if I am not crazy about any of the characters. Go figure! Quite a phenomenon! My head spins just thinking about everything that needs to be resolved in three episodes!

Thanks, Jarifa. Fantastic title and recap. I remain in awe of how you capture so many details so quickly. Loved theses lines from Mateo and Augustín:

Mateo tells him he [Pedro] can make fun all he wants but at least he hasn’t wanted to be Juan’s shadow for his whole life.

He [Augustín] finds it difficult to believe that Pedro can call it an hacienda when he spends his days sitting in a chair.

Don Augustín was one of my favorites. He made me laugh and always talked too much (hurling the story forward). I know there has to be a sacrificial lamb in TNs, but dang.

Who sends a photo of a dead person to announce that the person just expired. This alone should tell Juan that Pedro did it.

Simón, you bossy bastard!

You go, Paloma! With your suitcase.

The Simón part is so well-written because Simón really doesn't have a clue that he could be doing anything harmful. He seems genuinely confused he has been so culturally brain-washed.

Jarifa, ITA. This PSA is deeper than I thought it would be.

Yep, the safe is going to get cracked. Pedro probably knows the combo already.

I don't get why Juli told Sara about her illness and not her family.

For some reason last night, I noticed the furniture in the mansion. There's a piano, with a music sheet on it. I don't recall anyone ever playing the piano.

Great work, Jarifa.

The absolutely sadistic way that Pedro killed Don Augustin says that Pedro could become a serial killer if he isn't stopped ASAP. Of his victims only Dante was in any position to stop him from his other illegal activities, so the torture of the other three was gratuitous and possibly the result of his self-hatred. There but for Severiano and Catalina he would have been poor and possibly died an early death at the hands of Aurora. I still call her death justifiable homicide.

As for Deborah accusing him of killing Dante (whose body should be found tonight) that was just a lucky shot in the dark. Deborah knows that Pedro isn't stupid but also knows by now that he is a powder keg with a lit fuse. However she isn't smart enough to realize that accusation does not equal proof. She has gotten away with scamming others for quite a while and must think she's bullet-proof. She is as emotionally sadistic as he is physically sadistic.

Adele and her family will be crying tonight.

Good point, Niecie. I wonder whether the piano belonged to Catalina's family.

As for Juli, I don't think she had made any decision for or against telling her family about the cancer. She may have backed off saying anything about it because of Prospero's reaction to the truth of her paternity. I think he will come to his senses and realize that he is her father in every proper sense and that his current reaction was about Rosa's betrayal. Beyond that I am not prepared to predict whether she will tell them about this now or they will find out about it after she dies and they find an envelope.

It would be absolute madness for Sara to move back into the hacienda now, but... plot necessity for a bang-up finale.

Do you think Pedro will kill again ? I was shocked he killed poor Augie .I guess he hated hearing the truth Augie always liked to throw at him.
I think he will go after Sara or Deb . Will Juan have to kill Pedro to save Sara or Deb?

The writers have certainly peppered a lot of surprises into this show.

Sara doesn't know that Pedro has killed but Modesto does. I can not believe the writers have written Modesto as so clueless and apathetic . . He knows Pedro has killed and yet he tells nobody while Pedro is still freely cruising around everyone ...Tadeo, Sara, his brothers,Adela and her family . Pedro really hates Adela's family and detests Deb , and he has turned on Sara ever since he found out that she is carrying Juan's child. I wonder if he would even be capable of killing Juan , the person who tried to protect him from their awful mother. This was a huge writing mistake . At the beginning , Modesto was a strong, positive force for good , but each episode recently has shown him to be weak willed and dim. He just turned his head the other way and was silent .

Susanlynn, you are right on all counts.

He is capable of killing Juan out of envy of his being head of the family, head of the company, the man Sara loves, and the survivor of their mother's abuse.

ITA that Pedro is sick and twisted enough that would kill Juan. At this point, he is capable of killing anyone except maybe Tadeo.

Liz, You hit it on the head with "Modesto moving back is crazy, and Sara too. Just make it easier for the killer to get you. And now two more lives have been lost because Modesto kept quiet." I do not expect how Juan plans on keeping especially Sara safe when he refuses to do anything to rein Pedro in. He should be moving into a well-guarded independent residence with her.

Niecie, I agree also that "Don Augustín was one of my favorites. He made me laugh and always talked too much (hurling the story forward). I know there has to be a sacrificial lamb in TNs, but dang." I, too, was hoping it wouldn't be him. Rafael Inclán played the patriarch in "Mi marido tiene familia" (one of my all-time faves) and he was humorous but charming there also.

Urban, with three episodes left and a clearly emboldened Pedro, I totally expect him to go after bigger and bigger targets. I agree that his biggest target would be Juan but making Juan suffer by killing Sara and their child might be more enjoyable in his twisted mind.

Can't wait until tonight!!!
