Juanita: Are you or Dondi356 are doing the recap for this evening's episode ?
Dondi356: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode 😃👍
I'm also getting excited about "SED DE VENGANZA": The remake of "PURA SANGRE".
Gerardo gets a call about a woman's corpse found at the lakefront near Magdalena. Flashback to Ramiro telling him Cordelia was sleeping with the fishes near Magdalena. Gerardo curses at Cordelia’s pic.
Mari tells Pau she’s going to meet with Ale. This is their second chance. Pau is worried—Ale is no longer a humble foreman. What will happen if he finds out about David? She advises her friend to think about it.
Ric tells Ale Pedro is missing. Meanwhile, Lu comes to see Pedro at the brothel. She begs him to leave with her today for the capital. She has saved money. It’s not enough for Pedro, he won’t go back to that misery.
Ale wonders if Lu has been in contact with Pedro. Did she tell him they know he’s not the marquis? He asks Ric to question her.
Lu tells Pedro that Dolores doesn’t know he’s not the marquis. Pedro asks Lu to stay with the Count and be his eyes and ears. She agrees.
Ale goes off to meet with Mari and Caye gets jealous.
Pau finds lovebirds Dylan and Josie enjoying a drink together. Pau wonders if she should call the count’s dr. Josie tells her to stop meddling. She will take care of Dylan and she has Dr Rosales if needed. She adds they are planning a trip to Europe. Pau and Dylan play their parts well.
Gerardo makes a positive ID on Cordelia.
Vi comes to see Vic in his office. She thinks the insurance will cover the loss. Not so. Vic didn’t pay for insurance, and the Count is asking for his share of the money.
Carmen sadly tells Tere that Dolores is ashamed of her. She’s like Vic. They only care about appearances. Both Carmen and Tere disapprove of Dolores’ impending marriage to Pedro. Carmen laments she wasn’t around for her daughters. Things would have been different.
Gerardo gives Felipe Cordelia’s pic and tells him to plant it in Vic’s office and call the police. Tell them Vic and Cordelia were lovers and she even stayed at his hotel. Stupid Felipe actually believes this is true.
Ale meets Mari at the appointed place. In a flashback, she talks about the myth of Mayahuel and Quetzalcoatl (google it). She tells him life has given us a second chance. Let’s make the most of it. I never stopped loving you. They make love.
Leticia gives Dolores her wedding dress. She’s sorry, she knows Vic suffered a great loss but adds, thank God everyone is okay. Money isn’t the most important thing. Dolores begs to differ; money IS the most important thing. And she’s ticked at Lety for hiring a woman like Carmen. Lety defends Carmen and she feels a little guilty. Back in the day, they also believed Vic’s version of the story. Dolores is not ready to accept the truth.
Tere shows up at the atelier to have a talk with Dolores. This was set up by Lety at Tere’s request.
Mari asks and Ale explains what happened to him at La Isla. He was there for 14 years. That’s where he got the scars on his back. We get the flashbacks. Mari says Ale deserved none of it. And she never doubted his innocence. Ale replies they needed a scapegoat, and he was chosen.
Mari felt his resentment for her when he first returned. He tells her that wasn’t so. He wants to know what she couldn’t tell him the other day. She’s not ready yet. She’s scared.
Josie brings Dylan soup that she made with love and poison. Dylan says he’s not hungry or tired. Chole interrupts to tell Josie that Vic came to see her. It’s urgent.
Tere and Dolores face off. Tere can’t understand how her sister can still defend Vic. Mom needs us. She suffered greatly. Dolores steadfastly remains Team Vic and vows not to accept Carmen. She calls Tere a traitor and snaps, don’t show up at my wedding! You’re dead to me! Lety consoles Tere.
Vic tells Josie he’s in deep trouble and he’s lost everything. Josie’s done helping him, he’s on his own. Vic tries blackmail. He will tell Gerardo that Josie wanted him dead. Josie scoffs. Who will Gerardo believe—his in-law or his enemy? Vic says he will take his chances and go to the police. Josie calls his bluff. Vic gets nowhere and swears Josie will pay.
Vic is despondent. He tells Chole he wants to speak with the marquis. Chole says the marquis is gone and they don’t know where he went.
Caye cries to Amaranta that Ale went to see Mari. She still loves Ale. She can’t help it.
Mari and Ale are dressed. She doesn’t want to be apart from him anymore. She will talk to Gerardo. Ale warns her not to provoke Gerardo, he’s dangerous. He suggests that she take the kids to the capital for a while. Mari objects at first. She thinks David won’t leave his job and Lorena. Then she agrees only if Ale will meet her there. Ale promises. She’s the love of his life.
Ama reads Caye’s cards. The Tower. A breakup. A cycle that needs closure, but it will benefit Caye. The Emperador. There’s another person in Ale’s life, but due to a betrayal, it seems Caye might end up with him.
Memo and Ric press Lu for Pedro’s whereabouts. She claims to know nothing and says she would never betray the Count. He got her out of prison. Memo believes her but Ric doesn’t.
Ale has called Vic to the office about the insurance claim. Vic stalls, these things take time. Ale turns the convo to the marquis. Vic says the marquis is no longer at the Zambrano’s and he asks if he is staying with Ale. Ale drops the bomb on Vic that there is no Francisco de Mendoza, his name is Pedro and he’s a conman, now on the run. Vic whines, God kill me. Let this nightmare end.
Mari returns home and David tells her about the woman’s body found at the lake. She asks David to come with her to the capital for a while. As predicted, David doesn’t want to go. Mari presses him. Protecting you and your sister is most important. Josie walks in and overhears. She snarks, does this mean you got over your whim of running your father’s distillery?
Gerardo has come to Ale’s unannounced. Gerardo thanks Ale for saving Mari. Ale mentions that Mari was brave, she went back inside the hotel to save a girl. Gerardo knocks Vic for using low quality materials and that’s why there was a fire.
Ale disagrees, he himself made sure everything was up to safety standards. He tells Gerardo he ended his partnership with Vic. Smug Gerardo says I told you so. He had warned Ale about Vic. Vic is a criminal who deserves life in prison. He will get the proof. Vic is a murderer.
Mari tells Josie she will be gone only for a few weeks. Josie is certain that Mari has a secret relationship with the Count. She’s seen how they act together. The looks, the touches. Jealousy of Cayetana. Imagine the scandal if it spreads. Gerardo would take the kids. Mari warns her not to say anything.
Pedro comes to see Vic for the dowry. Vic loses it. He calls Pedro a thief, grabs him by the lapels and gives him a good shake. He demands to get his investment money back. He threatens to kill Pedro. Dolores and Vi separate them.
Dolores shouts at Vic. Vic shouts back, you’re not marrying him! He’s a conman! The Count told me everything! Pedro calls Vic crazy and takes off. Dolores follows him. Vi is shocked.
Dolores asks Pedro for the truth. Are you a marquis? He keeps up the lie and tells her the wedding is postponed until Vic comes to his senses. Dolores tells Pedro she loves him. Pedro says this isn’t about love. For his family, marriage is about nobility and honor.
Mari shares what Josie said with Pau. Pau worries, what if Josie knows about Ale? No, Mari replies. Josie just assumes by what she’s seen. Mari tells Pau she’s taking the kids to the capital, and she wants Pau to come with them. Nope, Pau is staying to help Ale take down Josie. Josie and Felipe must pay.
Lety brings tea to Dolores to calm her down. Dolores thinks her life is over. [Why is Lety comforting this brat?]
Lu tells Ale that she doesn’t know where Pedro is. He asks her why she was snooping around in his room the night of the fire. She says she was only looking for laundry. Flashback to Ama finding her. Ale says he’s trusted her since the day she told him Pedro killed Beatriz and she took the blame.
Flashback: Beatriz is on the ground and Pedro is in shock. Lu yells at him to get a doctor. Pedro takes off, he’s not going to prison.
Ale tells Lu he has a signed statement from Ruben that says Pedro killed Beatriz with malice. But Ruben’s version differs from yours, he says and asks, how did things really happen? Flashback: We see that Lucrecia was the one that killed Beatriz so she wouldn’t tell on Pedro!!
Lu sticks to her story. Ale wants to find Pedro. He says maybe it’s time to tell Pedro about Felipe. Lu says no way. She doesn’t want Pedro near the Zambranos.
Vic barges into Gerardo’s office with accusations and pulls a gun on him.
And we are out.
EPISODE#64:
Dondi356: Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Great job with the recap of last night's episode.
1.) Buji Joise all but knows The Fake Count is Alejandro Gaitan. Nothing goes by this Buji fool. Nothing!
2.) I better see those Karma anvils coming for both Slippery Pedro & Bratty Dolores ASAP. 17 days left.
3.) Jackass Vic getting more desperate & taking extreme measures: Tick-Tock Violeta: You're still NOT going to be among the living when all is said & done.
4.) Slick Felipe stupidly believes Scumbag Villarreal's plan to pin it all on Jacass Vic.
5.) Snooping Leticia OMG: Why in the expletive are you comforting Bratty Dolores ?
6.) Alejandro knows Lucrecita is LYING. Stupid Old Hag needs to go back to prison.
7.) I still think there's a good chance we'll see Ricardo & Cayatena together in the end.
8.) Paulina & Carmen still in danger.
9.) Amaranta needs to watch her back too.
10.) Another love scene between Alejandro & Blabbermouth Mariana.
11.) Gut feeling the Body Count will still likely aggressively be increasing in the closing stretch.
12.) Wondering how the Presidential campaign is turning out between Miguel & Scumbag Villarreal ? Guess once Scumbag Villarreal's crimes against humanity are revealed, it'll be Miguel living in Los Pinos.
I hope the Campesino isn't in deadly danger after alerting law enforcement upon finding Cordelia's body.
Thanks, Steve, for your interesting list of highlights. I don't have time to comment at any length right now, but there was one of your comments I'd like to elaborate on. You say "I still think there's a good chance we'll see Ricardo & Cayetana together at the end." I agree with you, but I was stunned by something last night that suggests it may not be so. When Amaranta reads the cards to a reluctant Cayetana, Amaranta tells her "There's another person in El Conde's life. But due to a betrayal, you may wind up with him."
HUH??? If I recall correctly, Amaranta has never been shown to be wrong in her readings. I'm hoping her reading last night was a false alarm deliberately set to mislead us. But....
Thank you, dondi356 for recapping.
Everytime El Conde and Mariana talk about being together forever, my danger meter goes off. It seems like a foreshadowing of what isn't going to be.
I hope they will have the happily ever after they deserve!
Will Felipe ever stand up and stop Josie from trying to kill everyone in her way??
I laugh when Geraldo calls him "Felipillo" (sp?).
I forgot about Lucrecia being a murderer.
So, why did Ale get her out of jail? Did he not know??
Beth S
Beth: Alejandro dropped the ball on that one regarding Lucrecita being a murderer. Runs in the family
*Slick Felipe runs over Aracely & kills her.
*Slippery Pedro stabs Beatriz & kills Ruben.
*Annoying Lucrecita kills Beatriz.
PS: Didn't Amaranta mention something deadly heading for Slippery Pedro during one of her card readings ?
Juanita: I'm still nervous & scared for Carmen, Paulina & Amaranta especially Amaranta because it's only a matter of time before Slick Felipe & Buji Joise find out about Amaranta & Paulina's secret friendship.
Gracias, Dondi. You delivered a riveting recap. I enjoyed all your snark. My fave: "Josie brings Dylan soup that she made with love and poison."
Carmen laments she wasn’t around for her daughters. Things would have been different.
I beg to differ, Carmen. But good luck with Dolores once Pedro hightails it.
I am shocked at the reveal that Lucretia inflicted the fatal stab to Beatriz. I have no sympathy for Lucretia with Pedro. She knows what he is and deserves whatever she gets (and that definitely won't be Memo!).
Donde, thank you for that excellent recap full of all the dramatic details .
Well, we finally got a love scene between the two star crossed lovers .Fernando used to be the king of the kiss. He has cooled off, but I am watching Amor Real and Alborado and...wow..he knows how to romance his leading ladies.
The anvils are hovering over the villains . Happiness ahead for the good , i hope. Susan
Yikes! I'm so sorry, dondi, that I somehow did not realize until just now that you did a recap of Thursday's episode! Indeed, I found it puzzling that several people thanked you. At first, I assumed they were belatedly thanking you for your Wednesday recap. Only now did I finally see that you also did an excellent recap for Thursday, and that tonight's will make three recaps in a row! Anyway, MANY THANKS!!
There were many aspects of the recap I enjoyed, especially "Josie brings Dylan soup that she made with love and poison." Almost as funny was Francisco's haughty statement to Dolores that marriage is not about love, "for my family, marriage is about nobility and honor." What family is that, Pedro?
Juanita: Murder runs in the Family:
*Slick Felipe runs over Aracely & kills her.
*Slippery Pedro stabs Beatriz & kills Ruben by shooting him to death.
*Annoying Lucrecita kills Beatriz by stabbing her to death.
*Buji Joise kills 1st husband & kills Blabbermouth Mariana's Daddy.
I’m late to the comments but Lu is one of the bad guys?? She has a low body count compared to Ger And Vic and Josie, but still. That was a surprise. She’s out of prison for the murder though, so does Mexico have double jeopardy?
K
I missed last night's episode. I hope Dondi356 has the recap of last night's episode posted sometime this morning because I'll be watching College Football (ROLL TIDE ROLL).
It was a surprise that Lu actually did the killing to protect Pedro.
I hope we will get a scene of Pedro and Felipe realizing that they are father and son.
I wonder how Pau and Dylan plan to turn the tables on Jo?
I was surprised that Jo noticed something going on between Mari and the conde.
So...will Vi end up with good as gold Memo. Susano
Gerardo’s bodyguard comes up behind Vic and he’s forced to drop his gun. Gerardo cites, you trespassed and threatened to kill me. I could kill you and it would be self-defense. But I won’t waste a bullet on you. Vic warns Gerardo, you’re going down, too. You have a bigger enemy than me at home, in your own family, and that “vibora” will finish you off. That gives Gerardo something to think about.
David stops Vic on his way out. He’s got questions regarding Alejandro Gaitan. You and Ruben Cruz were main witnesses at his trial. Vic wonders why the interest. David asks, are you sure he killed the Aguilars?
Vic takes the opportunity to get back at Gerardo. He tells David that Ale was not a killer. Why don’t you ask your dad? He was the only one who wanted him [Ale] guilty of murder. [not quite right but, okay.] Ask your papi. David is stunned.
Felipe comes to the brothel and finds Pedro there. He asks Pedro why he left. Did we do something to upset you?
Gerardo comes to see Josie. He’s glad they survived the hotel fire. Josie sees through the fake courtesy and invites him to sit. Gerardo gets right to the point. What do you have to do with Vicente? You helped him plan the attack on me, didn’t you? Of course, the vibora denies everything. She asks if he’s got evidence. Not yet, Gerardo says, but Vic will fall for his crimes along with his accomplices.
Josie’s best defense is a good offense. She warns Gerardo to focus on his own home. And what is that? It’s the relationship between Mari and the Count. Those two get along very well. More for Gerardo to think about.
Vic tells Xiao to get Vi and Luisito. They have to leave, fast. The cops show up and ask Vic to come with them. Vic thinks it’s about the fire, but it’s about Cordelia. Vic has no idea who that is.
Pedro shares with Felipe that he called off the wedding. He found out things about the Garcias. Vic is bankrupt. Lu shows up and eavesdrops on the convo. Pedro continues that marriage to Dolores was in Vic’s interests. I need to distance myself from that family, he says. Lu watches and listens, and she is horrified.
Rod finds Lety consoling Dolores. She takes him aside and tells him she found Dolores on the street, crying. She couldn’t leave her like that. The wedding was called off. Rod says they should call Vic. Lety says Dolores doesn’t want to talk to her father.
Mari comes to speak with Gerardo. He wonders where she was all day. Mari says she was out shopping but she didn’t find what she was looking for [we beg to differ.] She tells him she wants to take the kids to the capital for a while. If we are going to divorce, this break is good for us. The press won’t ask questions. Gerardo agrees but he doesn’t look so happy about it.
Amaranta sneaks over to visit Pau. She’s been worried about her. Pau assures her she is fine, but she can’t leave Dylan with Josie. Ama has brought a letter from the Count. Great news. The Count has a place ready for Pau and Ama in France. A place to be at peace without having to hide! But Pau won’t go until Josie is stopped. Ama says to let the Count take care of it. They kiss and Chole accidentally sees them.
Gerardo tells Ramiro they need more men for increased security. He also asks Ramiro to keep an eye on Mari. Tell me if she sees the Count. Ramiro is surprised.
Josie tells Felipe she wants to get her hands on Dylan’s will. She needs to make sure everything is in her name before she kills him. Felipe suggests she forge it like Benny’s. She feels she can’t take the chance this time.
Felipe brings up Gerardo’s order to plant Cordelia’s pic with Vic. Nothing gets past Josie. She thinks the VG initials on the pic could mean Vicente Garcia or Villarreal, Gerardo. Gerardo might be trying to frame Vic. But who is this woman and why is she important? She tells Felipe to find out. Get close to Gerardo. He will need friends when his wife betrays him. Felipe asks, why would Mari betray him? Just do as I say, Josie answers.
Tere comes to see Dolores. Are you here to mock, Dolores asks. I’d never, Tere replies, you’re my sister and it hurts to see you like this. Why don’t you go home? I can’t, Dolores says, dad is unbearable. [I would say the same about her.] He doesn’t stop drinking, he doesn’t sleep, I don’t even think he’s bathed. He looks at me like this is my fault. Tere says she’s sorry about the wedding. Don’t lie, Dolores says, you never liked Francisco.
Lu sneaks Pedro into the Count’s estate. She has something very important to tell him. She knows Felipe found him. You’re not safe there, she says. You always wanted to know your origins. You’re about to find out. Your father is… Felipe Zambrano. Cara de impactada de Pedro.
Lu starts the backstory. Pedro can’t believe it. Lu wishes it wasn’t true. She tearily continues, your mom and I returned when you were very sick. Araceli went out with Felipe and when she told him about you, he became furious. One night, she went to see him and never came back. Later, her body appeared in the river. I’m telling you so you understand. You must stay away from the Zambranos forever! Pedro says he won’t.
Dolores tells Tere that Vic almost killed Francisco. He accused him of being a fraud. Tere is surprised. Is this true? Dolores isn’t sure. She cries, he was the first man in my life. I won’t be able to be with anyone else. Tere assures her sister that she will meet a good man who truly deserves her [fill your own comment here.]
Desperate Violeta comes to the Count’s estate. She tells Memo she ran away, and she can’t go back to Vic. He’s dangerous. She’s scared and Luisito is sick. Memo tells her to calm down. He’ll get the doctor.
Gerardo tells Mari not to pack for Gaby. She can go to the capital, but the kids are staying with him. He insists. David, Gabriela, and Adela (Nanny) are staying while you enjoy your time in the capital.
David shares his excitement about the Alejandro Gaitan project with the Count. His bubble is burst when Ale tells him he’s off the case. You can’t do this, David replies, I’m very close to finishing. It’s final, Ale answers. David wants to know why. Don’t you trust me? Is it because of my dad?
Ale says it’s for the best. David thinks and asks, is there a connection between you and Alejandro Gaitan? Otherwise, why are you so obsessed with proving his innocence? Ale commends David on doing such a good job and he will pay David well. David speaks frankly. Not everyone is for sale, or at least not me. I’m not here for money. David walks out. Ale is impressed.
David crosses paths with Caye. He complains to her about the Count. He fired me! Caye tells him she read his account of Alejandro Gaitan and says he’s a very good journalist. David is frustrated. He was so close to finishing the investigation.
Caye wonders if Mari had anything to do with it. I think she’s worried about you, she says. David asks why. Caye notes that Mari is very close to the Count and he’s (David) getting into dangerous waters. Do the two plus two. She leaves him with that.
Gaby is sulking. Dad told me you’re going on a trip, and I have to stay with Adela and David in SJ. Mari says she won’t go anywhere without her.
Nanny reminds Mari that she told her to be careful with Gerardo. He’s not a fool and must suspect something. Mari says Gerardo was acting strange. She thinks there’s a reason he won’t let her take the kids. Nanny shows Mari the newspaper. “Woman found dead in lake identified”—it’s Cordelia!
The doctor says that Luisito will be fine. Vi is grateful to the Count for helping her. But she’s still worried about what Vic might do. Memo says not to worry, they will help as long as she’s there.
On his way out the doctor whispers to Memo, tell the Count I’ll have the analysis of what Josie has been giving Dylan. Then we will compare it to Benjamin.
Brendan is back! And contrary to what Josie is really thinking, it IS a lovely surprise. Brendan says, since my grandfather canceled his trip to Boston, I decided to personally come to take care of him. Josie replies that’s not necessary. That’s why I’m here. [they clearly have differing definitions of “taking care”.] Brendan bluntly cuts her off—I don’t trust you, so I’m staying here.
Memo tells Ale that Brendan changed his plans just as he asked. Ale hopes this will make Pau change her mind about staying. Ale adds, I want Mariana and her children out of here asap. Memo asks Ale if he’s changing his plans. Ale says no. I’m going to make Josefina, Gerardo, and Felipe turn against each other.
Gerardo has a talk with David. Even though he doesn’t approve of David’s relationship with Lorena, he realizes he can’t stop it. So how about having a getting to know you lunch with her and her family? David isn’t sure. He doesn’t want to put Lorena in an uncomfortable position. Gerardo assures him he won’t make her uncomfortable [his plans for Lorena are more nefarious.] He makes his case, and it looks like David might accept.
Josie’s hackles are up. Not liking me is one thing, she tells Brendan, but thinking I’d hurt Dylan is another. He’s my husband and I love him. Brendan answers back, as much as you loved your granddaughter, Sofia? Josie fires back, don’t dare use Sofia’s memory against me! Have respect in my house!
Brendan calmly replies, this is also my grandfather’s home now. He notes that Josie withdrew a lot of money from Dylan’s accounts. Josie claims that Dylan asked her to do it. Brendan says he spoke to his grandfather a couple of days ago and he didn’t mention anything about it.
Josie explains they had a small marital crisis, but they are determined to overcome it. You are welcomed to stay, she says, but I won’t tolerate you questioning me. Brendan plays it cool and says, it won’t happen again. Can I see my grandfather? Josie says of course.
Oh, one more thing, Brendan says. My grandfather’s notary said you’ve been asking about his will. Josie admits it. She just wanted to make sure everything was okay. She cites the hotel fire. Feeling death so close makes one rethink things. Even taking that into consideration, Brendan tells her there are no grounds for the notary to give her the documents. [I love Brendan!]
Now that Brendan has arrived, Pau decides to leave with Ama. They will leave justice to the Count. [I'm worried this won't be so easy.]
Josie hovers around Brendan and Dylan. Brendan wants to go out for a walk with his grandpa. Josie interjects that Dylan hasn’t been well and he should rest. Brendan says he will decide that—and he will take care of his food. Josie shouts her objection and turns to Dylan to support her. Dylan tells her to let his grandson spoil him. You’ll have time to sort out your pending matters before our trip to Europe. Josie is foiled.
As soon as Josie exits, Brendan closes the door. I came as soon as I was told everything, he tells Dylan. Did you speak with the notary, Dylan asks, there’s no time to waste. The men leave.
More of the Dolores pity party. Tere wants Dolores to stay with her at the Count’s estate. Nope, Dolores says she’ll go back home. She won’t stay in the same place as “that woman”. That woman is your mother, Tere says, and she loves you.
Vic is with Ale and he’s asking about his family. Ale admits that Vi and Luisito are there. Vi came because she is afraid. Vic warns Ale not to meddle in his personal business. He wants them immediately! Ale tells Vic he’s in no position to demand anything. He asks, where’s the insurance money? Vic stutters—it’s any day now. Ale calls him a liar.
Dolores asks Tere if she believes what they say about Vic. Tere responds, “cuando el rio suena, agua lleva” when the river sounds, it carries water. English equivalent: where there’s smoke, there’s fire. If this is true, it’s his life, Tere reasons, he will have to face the consequences. We have our own lives.
I was daddy’s little girl, Dolores laments, I can’t believe what they say about him. The poppies, the mistreatment of his ex-wife. Tere reminds Dolores that she saw how Vic hit her and Vi. Why is it hard to believe he hit mom? Stop calling her mom, Dolores replies, she’s not my blood. She is, Tere shoots back, let’s leave it at that.
Dolores doesn’t know what to do. She can’t stand the thought of people gossiping about her. I’m going to confront dad, she says, I need him to tell me the truth.
Ale accuses Vic of not paying for insurance and keeping the money. Vic makes excuses. How do you plan to repay me, Ale asks. Vic thinks they are partners in profit and in loss. Ale says he’s not paying for Vic’s mistake.
Vic asks for more time. Ale responds—so you can find a way to deceive me again? Like you did with Hotel Altimirano? Vic is shocked. You cheated me, Ale states. You know the deeds you gave me are fakes. That hotel was never yours. It belongs to Amelia Altimirano.
Vic claims this is a lie and that he was equal partners with Altimirano. Before he committed suicide, he left me all his share. Ale calls Vic out on his lies. You kept everything. You killed him! Vic says the police ruled it a suicide. Ale calls Vic a criminal who became rich at the expense of others. Vic says there’s no proof to what Ale says.
Wrong! I’ve been gathering evidence for years to bring you down, Ale reveals, I even have a witness who heard you admit to killing Tomas Altimirano. And you know who it is. A 10 year old girl whose life you didn’t care about destroying. Amelia Altimirano, or to you, Cayetana Carra.
Vic is stunned. You brought her here! Why do you want to ruin my life? I did nothing to you! [I can’t believe I’m hearing this.] I didn’t know you when you came here! Are you sure, Ale interjects. What the hell do you want from me, Vic shouts.
Ale asks, what do I want? Take a good look at me. Look beyond what’s obvious. Vic’s looking. Ale continues, remember what you did in a trial 18 years ago? Vic gulps. He grabs his left arm. [don’t die now, Vic, you haven’t suffered enough.]
Ale drops the bomb—I’m Alejandro Gaitan… the man you condemned with your lies. No… no… Vic stammers, this can’t be true. He sinks into a chair. Alejandro is dead and buried! Ale says, you should have told the truth at my trial, but no. As always, you preferred to lie for money.
Vic claims that Gerardo forced him. I didn’t want to testify. He forced me and history is repeating itself. Don’t be a coward, Ale replies, you condemned me and helped sink the Gallardos. You burned your wife and tried to kill her! Vic shouts, this is a nightmare! Alejandro is dead!
Yes, Ale shouts, Alejandro is dead! But now I’m here, and I’ve come back to make you pay! Vic stands and leans on Ale’s desk. Ale holds his letter opener to Vic’s throat. You have no family now and you’re left with nothing, Ale growls, you will pay. Get out. Vic stumbles out, past Memo and Ric. Ale exits and tells his friends—the time has come. Now it’s Cayetana’s turn.
Vic makes his way on the street, and he’s stopped, hooded, and stuffed into a car by a couple of men.
Mari has asked Pau to accompany her to the Count’s estate. Pau tells Mari she’s accepted the Count’s offer and is going to live in France with Amaranta and reunite with Sofia. She feels better now that Brendan is with Dylan.
Ric worries about Ale’s plan with Caye. Ale assures him it’s under control. Vic will face his past in the worst possible way. Mari interrupts to speak with Ale. Ric and Memo leave. Mari rushes to Ale and they kiss. Mari tells Ale that Cordelia, who disappeared without a trace, has now turned up dead. As of now, Vicente is the only suspect.
Ale asks her if she suspects Gerardo. Mari asks, is it possible I’ve lived all this time without realizing what he’s capable of? Ale says they must find a way of getting the kids out. I’ll have everything ready for them to leave, he says, even go to Europe if necessary.
Mari is worried that David won’t go. Ale says David is no longer working for the newspaper. Mari worries about Ale. He promises he will be fine. [uh, oh.] Ale tells her that your and your children’s safety is most important. They kiss again.
Men are holding Vic on his knees. Looks like they are up high somewhere. They remove his hood, and Vic finds himself before Caye. Vic asks, Cayetana, did you kidnap me? Call me by my real name, she orders. You know who I am. The Count told you and you can figure it out. Vic gasps, Amelia? He pleads, Amelia, please, don’t kill me! Have mercy! She shouts back, just like you had compassion for my father? We get the flashback of Vic pushing Tomas to his death, and Vic telling Amelia he killed her father.
You’re a monster, Caye spits out, how dare you ask for mercy! I’ll repay you in the same way! Do it! The men drag Vic to the edge of the building. Vic begs for his life. Please don’t kill me!
And we are out!
EPISODE#65:
Dondi356: Awesome job with the recap of last night's episode. I see Brendan is back in SJ. What could possibly go wrong ?
Chloe noticed both Paulina & Amaranta kissing: UH-OH Not good. Not good at all because Slick Felipe & Buji Joise will find out about Amaranta & Paulina's secret friendship.
Surprised Alejandro revealed himself to Jackass Vic so fast. I hope Cayatena & Co., have a backup plan because I've got a gut feeling Jackass Vic has a back-up plan like having his thugs kill Cayetana.
MANY THANKS, dondi, for yet another magnificent recap! It includes everything we need to know, along with a rich assortment of delightful side comments. I think my favorite may be "Mari says she was out shopping but she didn’t find what she was looking for [we beg to differ.]"
I do have one question. After Lu tells Pedro that Filipe is his father, she says that he must stay away from the Zambranos forever. Pedro says he won't. I'm having a hard time keeping everything straight. Does Filipe know that "Francisco" is really Pedro? And does he know that Pedro is his son? Does Lu think that Filipe will kill Pedro? And why does Pedro say he will not stay away from the Zambranos? Is it simply that he wants to meet his father?
I was somewhat surprised when the doctor says he will compare what Josie has been giving Dylan to what she gave Benjamin. Benjamin died about 18 years ago. Did they do a careful analysis then, and would that analysis still be available now?
Wow! I too love Brendan!
There are just six days left for justice to be served and happy endings to be found. And I'm still nervous about Amaranta's reading of the cards with Cayetana. I do NOT want to see Alejandro and Cayetana together at the end.
Again, thank you VERY VERY much, dondi, for these superb recaps and your willingness to do far more than your share.
Donde, wowee wow wow . What a fantastic recap that you have so generously used your time and talent to give us.I loved your editorial comments !!! Thank you so much. It was like reading a chapter in a novel .I haven't had a chance to watch this episode yet, so now I will know exactly what is happening .
Yay, Brendan standing up to the Black a widow of SJ. I am looking forward for him and Granddad out foxing Jo.
Vic is down on his knees literally and figuratively.
So, what is Ale's plan for revenge on Ger and his punishment for greedy Pedro and his dad ...tree>>>>>rotten apple. Susan
Finally had a chance to watch this episode.
Gee, Pedro in a long black leather trench coat and his dumb signature hat. ..evil Detective Gadget . He actually had tears in his eyes when Lu told him that Felipe was his father and that he killed his mother . Now, I suppose Pedro will confront dear old awful dad.
Memo was so sweet with Vi and her little boy. I hope we see a future family here . Susan
Still without power, day 9. Excellent recap and the asides were great. I'm exhausted from a women's build at Habitat for humanity this morning and then going to our daughter's to remove downed trees from pasture fences so I'll just enjoy the recap and not think too hard about the episode....
Just a quick note, Kat, to wish you well at this very difficult time. I'm amazed at how sane you sound after 9 days without power.
Yay Brendan! And he’s back just in time for Dolores to be available. Sure, he deserves much better but this is a novella and she’s the only one left. She’d be a good wife to him and all his money, as soon as she accepts that pops is a murderous thief and mama is good people. She’ll get there, especially with the help of Brendan’s money.
Did they foreshadow Ale’s death? I got an “uh oh” feeling too from him saying he’d be fine. That’s a sure sign something will go wrong.

Gracias, Dondi. Super job. It is fantastic seeing the walls closing in on the evil ones.
I'm ticked at Lucretia for telling Pedro that Felipe is his dad. Such a letdown that Pedro now has forewarning.
I can't believe Ale and Cayetana will end it this way for Vic. As much as Vic deserves it and Caye is owed vengeance, I want to see Vic behind bars instead of this.
You go Brendan.
Niecie: Something tells me Jackass Vic has a backup plan to slither out his current predicament. Gut feeling Vic's henchmen will rescue him & kill Cayetana.
I think Caye and her henchmen just want to put the fear of God into Vic. I also think he needs to end up in jail.
Kat, thanks for letting us know that the power finally came back. I hope your daughter's returns soon too. Wishing you rest and recovery after nine days (I can't imagine!) of no power.
I agree. I think Caye just wants to make awful Vic sweat and suffer a bit at the scene of his crime. He isn't going to be pushed over the edge like he mercilessly did to her father. Susan

Deb, thanks for the info on the upcoming La mujer de mi vida. Happy to see Ivan Sanchez again. Mauricio Islas, he of those beautiful blue eyes, was in the great Amor Real. Hs character was about the most tragic I've seen in any novela.
Looking forward to it.
Beth S
Thanks , Deb. Beth, yes, Mauricio of the beautiful blue eyes was , indeed, a tragic figure in Amor Real. I don't think I have ever seen him in villain role.
