Venganza 27 part 1
Tonight's recap will just hit the high points. Sebas is trying to convince Elisa to move back home since Roberto has left. Alfonso is putting the moves on Brenda, but she isn't falling for him this time. Erica is chastising Claudia about Miguel, she dislikes him immensely. Ana is being cared for somewhere, I don't think it is her house. Ignacio is back. I hope he keeps her on the straight and narrow. Fernanda is kissing Emilio at the office ( no blinds in his, someone is going to catch them one of these days) and professing a love for him like no other man she has known. Ninette, Brenda's mother, is telling Adelberto she is not in favor of the merger with Beltran. She mentions something about Maria Louise, Alfredo's first wife. It appears Adelberto had a thing for her but she chose Alfredo instead. Probably the root of their anime. She tells him half the company is hers and threatens him with divorce. Paty meets Fermin her car. Fern hands her an envelope of money for her car dreams, then says she needs her help. Her sisters know where Ana is. Paty was never let in on that secret so it is news to her. Paty will try and pump Claudia for information. Alfredo returns Elisa's shares to her. Ana wants to not fail again so Francisco will look at her as a woman. ( 3 woman falling over him, wow. So many options). Fernanda calls Beltran. She mentions something about Adelberto, perhaps the about the possible assassination. She also mentioned Manuela. I think she plans to incriminate Alfredo in that death as she was a witness to the final will of their father. She will return to work at the business but she wants a divorce. She doesn't want to remain married and unhappy.
 

Venganza #27 part 2

Fingers crossed this posts. I've had bad luck with part 2 lately.

Mirna is trying to fulfill her obligation to Beltran by convincing Fern that he suffered at Alfredo's hands and deserves a second chance. I was lost in much of this conversation. Beltran warns Adelberto that his brother has a contract on his life and that he needs to be vigilant and increase security. Alfonso wants to return to the family business. Alfredo asks what have you been smoking? Lol. He wants to learn the business from dear old dad (not Gabriel). Or Roberto, so he can learn the financial side.Beltran tells Adelberto his son's were killed. If something happens to him and his wife that leaves Brenda his sole heir, and thus in Alfredo's hands. Oops they did it again! Fern is planning a future with Emilio, but he tells her she is married and they are simply friends with benefits. Ouch! She is not happy to hear he doesn't love her . As she leaves she tells him her maids know where Ana is. Emilio asks is she with them. She tells him obviously Francisco Ramirez is behind Ana's disappearance. Rafita meets Gabriel at night in his car and lets fall his name, which he got from his license plate. He says this payment is for his silence. He needs another if he is going to carry out another double murder. Mirna visits Beltran and says she couldn't convince Fern(of what ?). She says the only way it might work is if we tell her where her daughter is. Beltran refuses to say. Alfredo is furious with Gabriel. You should have taken a taxi or gone on foot. How could you be so stupid, slap!. We'll be paying the rest of our life! Moni went out for drinks with Claudia and Erika. They drop her off at home as Fern returns from her tryst with Emilio. She seems to encourage the friendship and tells Moni she should invite them to swim in the pool tomorrow. Fern is happy Elisa has moved back. She puts in a plug for Roberto again but Elisa insists she doesn't love him. She doesn't love anyone but would like to be free to pursue other relationships. BTW, I had coffee with Emilio today. He stirs feelings in me. Fern has metaphoric smoke coming from her ears as she glares at her.

Monday, pt. 1 of 3

Aslan is having a wee breakdown but I didn’t see why. Seher enters the room calling him Yusuf and crying that her son is finally back. He kisses her hand and falls to the floor in front of her. She is so happy her “son” is back and Aslan is very unhappy.

Buket (sp?) is in a car waiting for someone to get the passport. She opens her phone and looks at the pic of her and Suat.

The nephew shows Ilyas pics of Serhat’s prostitute and Ilyas realizes who she is.

I also missed what happened at the beginning of the convo between Devina and Hulya but it ends with Devin calling Hulya a psychopath. Not wrong. Something about what she has known this whole time and Aslan won’t be happy to find out. Sorry but I’m catching up slowly today. Help!

Turgut takes down an outdoor bodyguard at Ati’s and Ati is inside looking concerned. He uses his phone as a flashlight until he finds a real one and stupidly goes outside to look for the bodyguard, Ardem. Scary animal sounds are in the background and then he flashes a light suddenly on Aslan! Who is holding the container of drugs that Ceylan took. He says nothing but scares the crap out of Ati who runs away while Aslan saunters after him.

Hulya and Devin again. Hulya says she’s starting to look like a Soykan and if she’s acting like a Soykan then she’s ready for this, and she holds out a pic of Buket, the wife of lawyer Suat. Hulya plays the video of her in the backseat of the car begging for her life right before she’s shot. Devin is shocked because she is not enough of a Soykan to be ok with this. Hulya gloats, probably because of being a psychopath and I don’t understand why Aslan doesn’t fire her from the family if he really wants to clean things up.

Which maybe he doesn’t right now because he’s still at Ati’s following him through his scary backyard until Ati turns around and there he is! And we get a weird scene cut in of a lion taking down a hippo. And then Asland headbutts Ati and there’s a fight. Ati didn’t have a chance here and never even gets on his feet. And in between the fight scene, we get the NatGeo video again of the lion and the hippo, who is losing this fight. It seems a little rude to Ati. And the hippo, actually. Ati more like a skinny, timid gazelle. Anyway, Aslan, with his hands all bloody from the fight, takes out the letter from his father that he brought with him and finally opens it to read. It tells him to not be like him, and that he will love Aslan always and not to forget that. Aslan looks at Ati’s body and cries.

Devin, meanwhile, has her head in the toilet vomiting after seeing the murder of Buket. Hulya stands by her talking about her first time seeing a murder and I don’t think any of this is helping. I miss the details because the subtitles are messing up. But Devin just stares at Hulya while she blathers on. I think she confessed to the killing and tells Devin that she can turn her in if she wants. She thoughtfully leaves a towel for Devin and leaves the bathroom.

Turgut and Isko talk about what happened and Isko says Aslan has just become Yusuf. They pour gasoline around the house and then Aslan lights the match. So long house of Ati, although we don’t actually see what happened to him. I assume he’s dead? Especially when Aslan calls Ilyas to tell him Ati won’t be showing up to meet him tonight or ever. They will meet face to face later. Mom of Ilyas wants to know who did it and he says “Aslan Soykan”. I can’t tell if he’s sneering the name or impressed.

Monday, pt. 2 of 3

I miss the start of the convo (again, and again sorry) with Hulya and Nese and Yagmur. Nese takes the blame for whatever they are accused of and wishes she had never been born, but Yagmur looks upset and walks out. Leyla and Tolga are there too, listening to the discussion. But then the news comes on about the burning of Ati’s house. “A body has been found but it hasn’t been identified yet”. Devin looks shocked. That’s when Aslan comes home looking like someone who just got into a fight with a hippo. He stares at her and then walks away while she wipes away a tear and follows him to their room.

Grandma Seher encounters him in the hall and again calls him Yusuf, mi hijo. He holds her face but keeps quiet and goes to his room. Seher looks less happy to see Devin as she walks by her. I assume she’s thinking Devin is Hulya again? In their room, Aslan is having a real breakdown this time, upset and staring at his hands, when Devin sensitively asks what happened. Aslan is crying about not keeping his promises and not being able to protect her. But he loves her very much and now they are both crying. The man she marries doesn’t exist anymore and he tells her to leave the house. (This is a lot of drama over the murder of one guy no one really liked anyway).

Seher comes in looking all nice and talking about the return of her son to Leyla. Hulya asks what she’s talking about ad Seher calls her Havva and orders her back to work. Leyla snickers at this. Hulya does not.

The next morning, Aslan is ready to go when he gets a call. Hulya asks who it is. Is it Ilyas? Aslan does not look inclined to answer. He later tells everyone in the family that no one leaves those four walls. Looks like it’s on with Ilyas. Leyla wants to know about going to the cemetery the next day for what I think was the anniversary of Yusuf’s death? And Hulya says of course they are going! But for now, let’s listen to Aslan (even though she never does).

Devin is walking with her arm around Yagmur when Hulya berates them, as she does. Devin sends Yagmur to her room and tells Hulya not to test her patience and Hulya is like well what are you going to do about it? You’re as culpable as the rest of us. Devin says nothing but looks like she’s thinking. (Like maybe, hey, if we get rid of Hulya, everyone’s problems go away). (Except for Tolga’s but no one cares about him).

Aslan leaves with Turgut and Isko but leaves Eko behind. Eko is confused by this because Aslan doesn’t explain. Ceylan is outside crying to Yagmur about feeling trapped in the house. The more she fights, the more she sinks. Something like that. Yagmur says she’s not to blame and doesn’t need to leave the house. Yagmur thinks everything is her fault and SHE is the one who should leave. (Seems to me that it actually is Ceylan’s fault since she’s the one who took the drugs after pal-ing up to Ati).

Hulya calls to Ibo to tell him the problem with the fire and Ati. Ati’s guy turns on the tv. Ibo yells that Aslan has lost his mind completely. Hulya says the problem is Ilyas. But she knows something and wants to get in touch with Ilyas and needs Ibo’s help. She orders one of the servants to get her car ready. So much for not leaving the house.

Monday, pt. 3 of 3

Devin talks to Ilkay about the situation here, that she’s fighting but it’s not helping. She hangs up when Nese enters to complain that Yagmur can’t be found. Nese is as helpful here as you’d expect. Devin calls for her car while Nese nags that she can’t leave, Yagmur just wants attention, etc. Hulya, unfortunately, is still home and demands to know what’s up. She orders Eko to go look for Yagmur. I miss the last thing she says to Devin but she wishes them a buen dia and gets in the car to leave. But Devin is faster than her driver, hops in her car’s driver’s seat, and takes off with Hulya in the back, yelling. Devin is smiling about this so she isn’t completely lost. Yet. But what will this do to the meeting Hulya wanted to have with Ilyas?

The car with Aslan and Isko get to what looks like a museum with kids everywhere. Might be an aquarium because he says they are meeting Ilyas by the shark tank. They are asked for their tickets after walking through the security and setting off the alarm. This makes me chuckle.

Hulya is yelling at Devin to stop the dang car and Devin finally slams on the brakes. Hulya gets it the front seat and tells her to go. The nephew of Ilyas is following them.

Aslan admits to Ilyas, while they stand in front of the shark tank, that he killed Serhat. Ilyas says that if it’s true that Serhat murdered a woman, he would have taken care of his son himself. He asks where the body of his son is and Aslan says it’s there inside while the camera pans to the big shark inside the tank.

The nephew is following Devin closely enough that she recognizes him from a party. Hulya knows him too and tells Devin who he is. He tries to run them off the road but Devin isn’t going down without a fight and she tells Hulya to hold on. She forces him off the road for a bit. Nephew (because I can’t remember his name) is impressed but says if she’s crazy, then I’m insane.

Aslan tells Ilyas that he can chose to kill him but Ilyas says it’s not that easy. Ilyas has nothing to lose though, while Aslan is like the fish in the tank, always being watched. Aslan hurt him and he is going to suffer, little by little, each one of them will suffer by his own hands. Ilyas goes through the whole family that he’s going to destroy. At this time, the cars are facing each other. Devin is staring at Nephew and a game of chicken might be about to start. Devin looks ready and Hulya does not. Hulya may have underestimated this daughter-in-law.

82.) I see that Daddy Ferrero had a thing for Alfredo's 1st wife back in the day. Had no idea. Little does Daddy Ferrero realize that he, Ninette, Brenda & the bastard kid Brenda is carrying are all in danger of getting whacked.

83.) Eugenio is still stirring the chaos. If I was him, I would sit back & let the del Pino's destroy each other.

84.) Crazy Goldie Locks still horny over Emilio LOL. I am looking forward to the day she's preggers with his baby.

85.) Speaking of Emilio: Crazy Goldie Locks tells him she knows Francisco Ramirez has Ana & that she knows that Erika, Fermin are helping Francisco. If I'm Francisco/Emilio: WATCH YOUR BACK.

Thanks very much, K., for this excellent recap. I really needed it, since my captions were not working well last night.
I think the reason Aslan is upset at the start of the episode is that he has just found out that Ati gave Ceylan the drugs, and he is furious. He knows that he wants to kill Ati, but he also knows that he doesn't want to be like his father. This dilemma is what's making him upset, I think. He thinks about the lion and what happens if the lion gets out of his cage.
As for the interchange between Hulya and Devin, Hulya lets Devin know that she (Hulya) knows about Cihan's coming to see Devin as a therapist. Devin is very upset. She knows how upset Aslan will be when he finds out.
Arrgh, as I was typing this, I got a phone call and have to deal with it, so I'll end this now.

Thanks again, K., for another fine recap. Before I turned on my computer, I was wondering how you'd manage any humor about last night's series of awful events. I shouldn't have doubted you. Loved "skinny, timid gazelle" for Ati as opposed to the hippo. I actually liked what they did there. Aslan had totally emphasized that his name meant lion and he was trying hard to keep from tearing Ati to pieces. So, inserting that lion kill while Aslan beat the crap out of Ati was well done, I thought. For some reason I didn't think he'd kill him; maybe it would be like what he did to Tolga earlier on.

I think Aslan was especially distraught because he read his father's encouraging letter after the damage had already been done. His father wanted him to continue getting the Soykans out of illegal stuff, and Aslan just killed the son and heir of a very dangerous man. At the aquarium Ilyas said that he now had nothing left to live for. And Aslan and everyone he loves were going to suffer. I did like Aslan's pointing to the shark saying that's where Ati's body is. Except that shark is in a tank and likely a free range one got Ati.

Sort of a reveal was Hulya telling Devin that she used to feel just like Devin. And she even left Yusuf for periods of time as a protest about what he was doing. Not sure I 100% believe her, but it was refreshing to see her a tiny bit supportive of her DIL.

Yep, Nese drives me nuts. Right in front of the Soykans and both her daughters, she said she wished Yagmur had never been born. And she was irate about any inconvenience her child might have caused Hulya. Send her back to her own house, writers, please.

They are definitely laying it on thick that Aslan and Devin are turning into Yusuf and Hulya, especially Seher now thinking Aslan is her son because...he's got a killer's face, or what?

Devin was distraught and she asked Ilkay to see a couple of patients that day. She said they were new ones and not seeing her would probably be all right.

I think Ilyas's nephew might be Goykan. At any rate it starts with a G.

I think that was an amazing episode. So very sad and with the future looking very dark. I'm losing hope for an HEA.

Sad seeing Aslan lose it like this. How in the blazes can he come back from this?

I'm glad Hulya at least told Devin that she was behind Buket's murder. I was afraid Devin would think that was Aslan's work.

Ilyas said if he'd known his son had killed a woman, he would've taken care of Serhat himself. So maybe he will spare the Soykan women.

Thanks, Niecie, for bringing up what Ilyas said about Serhat. First he said that Aslan made a mistake. I interpreted this to mean that, as he said, Aslan should have gone with the hierarchy and let Ilyas himself know about his son's transgressions. I doubt if Ilyas's punishment would have been death, but this could have saved Aslan from a spiral of grief and worry about his family.

Sorry, K., that I had to stop what I was writing before to deal with Real Life. Other people have now written helpful comments, so I just have a couple more things to add or ask.
I enjoyed the way the writers had Seher watching a film on TV where a lion pursues, captures, and kills a hippo just as Aslan is pursuing, capturing, and killing (I think) Ati.
I found myself wondering how Hulya has a video of Buket's pleading for her life and then being shot. Did Hulya both kill Buket and capture it all on video?
I also wonder why Aslan told Ilyas that he killed Serhat. I thought he was planning to put the blame on Ati.
Finally, why does Ilyas' nephew follow Devin and Hulya and try to run them off the road?

It's unfortunate that brooding Alan didn't read the letter before he decided to leave his cage . Could Ati have survived that beating? Then, Aslan tells ilyas that he killed Serfat. Why?

Juanita, I believe Hulya arranged the murder of Buket. The men we saw talking and looking suspicious from Buket's point of view were probably on a call with Hulya. I assume they were showing Hulya the video we saw of Buket pleading. I guess the delay was just to terrify Viewerville. Hulya had already given the order for her to be shot. I think Hulya's having Devin watch was improvised, whether to frighten her into leaving Aslan in mommy's care or to harden her to life as a Soykan. It could be either one.

I believe that Goykan, if that's his name, is under orders from his uncle to begin the reign of terror against Aslan's family. We saw Ilyas declare that Aslan definitely was the one who killed his son, with Goykan listening.
 

Novelera, I too think Hulya arranged Buket's murder. What isn't clear to me is how she had a video of the pleading and the murder on her phone and was able to show it to Devin.
Yes, what you say about Goykan's starting to fulfill Ilyas's orders for a reign of terror against Aslan's family makes good sense. I guess I didn't think it would start quite so quickly. (And, of course, it might have been prevented had Aslan let the blame for Serhat's death fall on Ati, who can no longer defend himself.)

I don't have much time to comment. This was a powerful episode from start to finish. The Hulya and Devin scenes continue to stand out.

Aslan said he wouldn't lie to Ilyas if he was asked. He wanted to tell because that's the "honorable" thing among them, but hesitated to do so to protect his family. Ilyas realized this, too.

Aslan really should have let Ilyas handle Serhat. Don't know if he would have killed him for what he did in Izmir but Serhat was stealing from him too.

Juanita, there was a camera in the car above the rear view mirror that recorded Buket.

I'm not sure if Gokhan is a blood relation to Ilyas, but he could be. He addresses him as "amca" (uncle on father's side) but he could be using it out of respect. Turgut addresses Aslan as "dayı", uncle on mother's side, and sometimes mobsters will address their bosses this way.

 

Venganza #28 part 1

I didn't understand a lot of the dialogue tonight. I'll just hit the high points again. It makes my life easier.

Mirna talks to Beltran about Fernanda and her relationship with Emilio. He seems jealous and she doesn't understand why as she has been sleeping with Alfredo and Roberto. That was on his orders so it was ok. This is another story. Adelberto confronts Alfredo on the golf course. He is being protected 35/7 now. (I'm not sure if he told Alfredo that Brenda is no longer his heir, but if that was the case they would gain nothing by his death.) Fern is mad at Emilio for having coffee with Elisa. Paty is trying to sniff out Ana's whereabouts, as is Miguel. Claudia is going to try the dancing gig for 1 night. Gabriel is up in arms about Alfonso coming to work at the firm. Fern is working on Sebas some more pointing out how unsuitable Moni is as his future wife.

Ignacio has discovered some interesting facts about Beltran, in particular he had a much younger woman 20 years ago named Fernanda. Ignacio tells Francisco that if it is the same fernanda then Ana did not hallucinate the message she read.
Moni is giving some dogs to Fernanda about Elisa and Emilios date. Such a lovely couple and mentions Fernanda's advanced age.
Brenda tries to confess to Gabriel about her infidelity but chickens out.
Claudia is a waitress, not a dancer, in the club.
Alfredo tells Gabriel to cancel the hit on Adelberto
Fern wants Alfonso to seduce Moni while Sebastian is in LA for a day.


 

Venganza #28 part 2

Rafita and Miguel are plotting about Claudia. She is making good tips. A couple more nights and then they can slip her a pill for the prostitution side of the box.
Brenda is advising her mother on the divorce. You don't leave the house, dad has to go.
Roberto is back at the del Pino mansion talking to Elisa. She says they have 2 options, a civilized divorce, or a messy one which will include him losing his job.he asks is she seeing someone else.

Paty shows Claudia her car. Finally Feliz de papa has paid off. Claudia is happy about the #350 she made in tips the night before.

Mirna tries to talk Fern into getting back with Beltran. She tells her she is afraid for her life, Beltran will kill her if they don't get back together.
Ignacio is questioning Beltran's neighbors in Dallas. One thinks he has a photo of him and his wife with Beltran and Fernanda in the background. He will see if he can find it.

#24 – Part 1 of 2

Goykan was the one who chickened out. He swerved away while Devin kept driving straight at him. Hulya looks nervous.

At the aquarium Ilyas tells Aslan he’s going to bury 25 grams of his son tomorrow (the thumb), but it will feel like 25 tons for Aslan. “You’ll have on your shoulders the coffin of one of your loved ones." Aslan raises his fists, furious, and threatens to kill Ilyas with his bare hands. Ilyas says that, after carrying all those coffins, he’ll end up without arms. [This actor brings the menace.]

Aslan calls Devin, and Hulya advises her not to tell him what happened with Goykan. Devin appears to agree, because she tells Aslan she’s at home.

Aslan then asks Isok to have Ilyas watched. Turgut and Isok recommend a guy named Reed who just got out of prison. He’s running a cafeteria, but it’s a front for his being a fence of stolen goods.

Devin tells Hulya to stop giving her orders. Just then Hulya gets a call that Eko found Yagmur. She’s at Devin’s apartment. Eko tries to get Yagmur to come back to the Soykan house, but she refuses.

Turgut and Isok go to Reed’s business. He sees them and runs. Tolga chases him with their car and gives him a tiny bump with it. They make him an offer he can’t refuse. He gets a big wad of cash and agrees to spy on Ilyas.

Tolga is suspicious of Leyla’s friendship with Cemre. He follows her and overhears part of her conversation with Cemre. He thinks Cemre is influencing her. He gets all manly with her. He says he’s opposed to the divorce. Leyla just laughs at him.

Cihan goes with Aysel to the doctor and sees the sonogram of the baby. He looks more nervous than pleased.

Hulya presents Devin with a script to memorize for when the police interrogate her.

Ibo and Hulya have come to see Ilyas. Ibo gets patted down, but the really dangerous one, Hulya, does not.

Devin starts drinking. When Aslan comes home, she goes on a rant about the script she’s supposed to parrot. Dripping with sarcasm she reads from it. We see a fuzzy montage of the actors doing what she says. They’re all happy family at dinner. Tolga and Leyla are smiling and embracing. Later they all watch a movie together, but Leyla and Devin cry at the sad parts. Aslan is not amused. He orders her to say the script as written and that this is no game. He brings up some metaphor about their being on a bridge that I didn’t quite understand.

Ilyas asks Hulya why she came. Hulya: “Because I’m a mother.” He counters that his mother is a mother who is mourning the loss of her grandson. “How could you let this happen?” [He seems to think Hulya pulls all the strings.] She tells him he’d have done the same. Aslan did the same. [I think she means protecting Yagmur. Ibo says that what was wrong was Ilyas’s son.

#24 – Part 2 of 2

[Oh boy. Ilyas brings up the big secret!] We see Ilyas, Ibo and Yusuf 40 years ago. Ilyas: “The man we sold hierro (iron) to said he didn’t have the money to pay and never could pay his debt. Ibo and Yusuf went in, while Ilyas stayed in the car. Ibrahim shot him. And then…whoa…another woman hiding, this time in an armoire. She’s pregnant. They take her. He says that Hulya was there too. She helped the woman give birth. We see a younger Hulya holding the baby. It’s said there could not be witnesses to the crime. Ibo couldn’t kill the woman, but Yusuf did it. Ilyas then says they shouldn’t mention rules to him.

Ilyas then says he respects Hulya. She came to see him, fearless. He says he’s going to give her two options. “A son was taken from me. You need to suffer. Will it be Aslan or Cihan, your real son or the adopted one. Which one do I kill? You decide.” [It’s not said in this episode which one is adopted.]

Next we see Cihan arrive at the Soykan house, and Aslan gives him a pleasant welcome.

Hulya tells Ibo her son will protect her. Ibo: “What son?”

Aslan tells Cihan that he flat told Ilyas what he did. Cihan: “Then why aren’t we in hell?” Aslan replies that it’s going to happen. Be ready.

We see Hulya eyeing Aslan and Cihan speaking together. She denies (to Aslan) trying to negotiate with Ilyas.

It’s said and shown that Goykan is at the mechanic’s all day. [Is this because he rearended the car Devin was driving a couple of times?]

Yagmur is drinking. Gah! She calls Ergun. His wife tells him to hang up. Yagmur just wants two minutes to ask him something. She says that her mother said that she wishes Yagmur had never been born. “Do you feel the same?” Ergun barks that she should never call him again and hangs up. [Please, writers, come up with something awful for him.]

Yagmur throws a glass at a mirror. [Mirror and window breaking run in this family.] Eko is outside her door and hears this, but she won’t open the door.

Reed tells Isok and Tolgut that someone was there (at Ilyas’s mother’s house) and that Goykan is at the mechanics. [But he doesn’t tell them who Ilyas’s visitors were. Not sure if he would know them or not.]

Devin is drinking. She’s also on the phone with Ilkay, who sings his same old song. He says she can’t be with that family. “Leave Aslan.” When she tells him Aslan told her to leave because he’d never be able to abandon her himself, Ilkay says it’s manipulation.

Has it been a year? It seems like they are having another memorial dinner for Yusuf. Saher keeps saying Aslan is her son, Yusuf, and Aslan plays along.

Cihan announces he’s expecting a child, and with Aysel. He says he thinks the baby will center him.

Goykan tells Ilyas that Cihan told Serhat he’d take him out of the country but then betrayed him. Now Cihan’s girlfriend is pregnant.

Devin makes a drunken toast to Cihan’s baby and to all the lies at the dinner table.

Yagmur berates herself into a piece of the broken mirror. She has cut her hand on the glass. She then gets on the top of the railing on the balcony of the apartment, ready to jump. One of the men sent to protect Yagmur sees her. Eko tries desperately and finally manages to break in.

Of course, we need to wait to see if she jumps or if Eko saves her.

Steve, both Tania and Marcelo made cameo appearances as supportive friends. Tania had a flashback about telling Gabriel to question Brenda's baby's paternity. Marcelo via zoom about Fernanda and Beltran knowing each other.

Novelera, thank you so much for a great retelling of a horrifying episode . I haven't had a chance to watch this episode yet , but now when I watch , I will know the dialogue.

So, which guy is the biological son of Hulya and Yusuf? Aslan is the big , handsome lion. Was Yusuf big and handsome ? Hulya seems to hate Cihan while adoring the big lion. Or are the writers tricking us?

I started to watch this episode . None of the young guys shown in the flashback look big like Aslan, so perhaps a grandfather was a big guy. No clue as to who was Aslan's dad ...Music or the guy the killed . susan

Gracias, Novelera. Super recap. "Ibo gets patted down, but the really dangerous one, Hulya, does not." -- you can say that again!

That was some revelation coming from Ilyas in their conversation of old times. I stared at the screen for a good moment, stunned about the reveal and that it came so soon.

I'm guessing Cihan is the adoptive son. Now I'm wondering about Grandma Seher. She's been bugging me calling Aslan "Yusuf" and looking so sweet and loving at him. How much did she know before dementia set in? Surely she noticed when Hulya and Yusuf suddenly came home with a baby out of nowhere.

About Aslan's bridge metaphor, I think he was again offering for Devin to leave him but warning that it was getting too late (they're no longer approaching the bridge, but now on it).

Yagmur is bugging me as much as her mom does. But I am glad she opted for jumping instead of cutting her wrists with broken glass. Surely Eco will save her.

As always, I enjoyed your comments, such as your saying that Ilyas's men patted Ibo down, but they ignored "the really dangerous one," Hulya. Also, "[Mirror and window breaking run in this family.]"

I wonder whether Goykan's telling Ilyas that Cihan betrayed Serhat will result in Ilyas going after Cihan--or perhaps after Aysel, who is pregnant with Cihan's child. Will it matter which of her sons Hulya offers up? Also, will Ilyas personally go after anyone, or will he let his thugs or Goykan do the killing. In the flashback to many years ago, we saw Ilyas remain in the car while Ibrahim and, eventually Yusuf, did the killing.

This dizi is getting more and more grim. I'm not sure where it's going, but I'm not putting my money on a HEA ending.

I did it backwards. I first watched the episode in Turkish and then checked back to the Telemundo.

Reed’s name is really Sipsi, which means reed in Turkish.

Edit after Cihan arrives at the estate and Aslan greets him. Seher walks in and greets her son Yusuf (Aslan) with a tray of dolma she’s made for him. Cihan is puzzled and Aslan explains that Seher thinks he’s Yusuf. BTW, Seher calls Cihan “delibalım”—my crazy honey. (“Delibal” was the movie that Cihan watched.) Lol, Seher wanted Cihan to kiss Yusuf’s (Aslan’s) hand. Aslan held it out and Cihan lowered it. He said something that they edited, unfortunately I’m not that good at reading lips in Turkish. Then he pulled Aslan into a hug and said Grandma, I missed Dad, very much.

“…they are having another memorial dinner for Yusuf…” The first dinner was for Yusuf’s birthday. This dinner is the anniversary of his death. The plan is to visit the cemetery tomorrow.

Hulya must make a Sophie’s Choice. Big question. Who is the bio son and the adopted son? If they say this happened 40 – 45 years ago, the adopted one would likely be Cihan. Aslan looks a lot like Yusuf to me, Hulya adores him, and Seher thinks he’s her son. But then Ilyas told Aslan he was practically born in his arms, and that it was an interesting story.

Maybe Hulya won’t get to make a choice after all. It seems that Cihan will be the target.

Devin was warned she’d have to pay the price to be a Soykan and she defiantly chose to stay. She’s sinking deeper and deeper into the muck.

Gotta be Eko will save Yagmur.

Finally caught up just in time to see if Yagmur survives. Novelera thanks for the great translation of all that went on. I read it first then watched it so it was easier to follow ( although I have been cooking and prepping for tomorrow throughout so it was especially handy. Dondi, your additional comments really help too. I'm also thinking the adopted is Cihan and hopefully Yagmur survives.

Thanks, all, for the kind words. Well, the big reveal was 40 years ago, and the actor playing Aslan is 40. So it's possible he could be the adopted baby and Cihan at home with a nanny while Hulya delivers Aslan. You'd think, of course, that she'd favor her blood; so maybe the obvious is that she was childless until she adopted Cihan, cared for him, but fell in love with her golden boy when he was born. I'm not sure where Leyla fits in the birth order. I'm sure they said, but it's gone from my brain. And they've been SO obvious about Cihan being sacrificed that it's hard to believe he's not the adopted son. Maybe we'll find out tonight.
 

Venganza #29 part 2
Fern interrogates Fermin about Ana and then demands Francisco's phone number.
Alberto is being brought in for routine questioning about Manuela's murder. As he leaves the office he tells Gabriel to call his lawyer.
Erika tellsxana she has no hope of being with Francisco, he loves Elisa. She is getting a divorce and currently likes Emilio, aka Francisco.
Roberto tells Emilio Elisa is his woman and to stay away from her.

Alfredo is explaining his relationship with Manuela, she was my children's nanny. I fired her when her grandson got involved with one of my daughter's. The police then bring up the fact that she was a witness to his father's last will, which gives him a motive.

There were talks between Eugenio and Fern, she tries to worm her way back into his affections, but he's not biting.
Roberto and Emilio nearly Duke it out. There were quite a few other scenes but you will have to watch it yourself. I'm tired from all my thanksgiving prep. We'll have 15 for dinner tomorrow evening. Happy Thanksgiving to all. I think we get a break tomorrow. I hope so anyhow.

It didn’t even occur to me that Aslan would be the adopted son. Maybe Hulya hated Yusuf and that’s why she might prefer the child not from him? It would explain why she doesn’t seem to care for any of them except Aslan.

But Reed? Really? Sipsi is a better name for this guy than Reed. Or at least go with Junco (Spanish version of reed)?

106.) Speaking of Crazy Goldie Locks: she was interrogating Fermin about Ana's whereabouts (gut feeling Ana will be taken back to the so-called clinic or get killed in some way via Goldie Locks' henchman) & demanding Francisco's number.

107.) I have a feeling its' only a matter of time before Emilio gets discovered as Francisco Ramirez.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Quick coffee break before I return to the kitchen.

Leyla mentioned she's Aslan's older sister. Don't know where she fits with Cihan.

The original dizi is only 30 Turkish episodes, but each ep is 2hrs + change. We are in Turkish ep 12 now. With the edits, we are getting about 2 Telemundo eps for each Turkish. Maybe this will be between 60 - 70 eps for us. I hope that helps you prepare.
