I am re-posting this since I put it up so late on Monday's page.
Dondi, you gave us another terrific recap. Thanks so much!
On Monday I went to the YMCA for a cycling class. I used to go twice a week and got sort of sidetracked by the COVID shutdown of exercise facilities. Interestingly enough the instructor is named Ahmet. And he wore a windbreaker at the beginning with the Turkish flag on it. I spoke with him afterwards and we had a nice chat about dizis. He loved Kara Para Ask. I started that one, but didn't continue. I mentioned Fatmagul and what a heartthrob Engin is. We had a nice laugh about that. He had zero accent so maybe he was born in the U.S. I never expected to have a conversation about dizis with a human, not a cyberfriend like the ones here on Caray.
Hulya and Ibo...still the distillation of evil who should have been together. I hope they both get a fitting retribution. I can hardly wait for Aslan's (I think) dressing down of Mommy Dearest tonight.
That dizi flashback showing how Aslan really got bruised knuckles was so typical of how I've seen mysteries explained in other dizis (not that I'm an expert by any means).
I have a feeling there's going to be a big reveal about what happened to and with Yusuf before this is over.
I'm not sure I like where they're going with the lowering of Devin's ethics. And I definitely didn't like Cihan's long 5 stages monologue.
Is Ati's plan seduction or alienation of Ceylan from her family? Last night it seemed like he was working on getting her disillusioned with her family. Maybe he's too much of a coward to actually deflower her.
I liked "dizi stare time". Yep, it almost seems like that's written into the script.
So...am I correct that the Ilyas actor was in Fatmagul as the father of one of the rotten young men who raped her?
Thanks very much, dondi, for your wonderful recap of Wednesday's episode. I'm sorry I didn't comment earlier, but I was away from my computer for most of the day. I don't really have anything to add to what's already been said, but I did want to tell you how much I admire your recaps and how grateful I am for Wednesday's.
#21 – Part 1 of 3
More caption BS. I tuned into my recording. I’d recorded the 7PM episode, which DirecTV gives me as one of my channels. It’s what the East Coast sees and what I use on a recapping night. Everything was perfect. The screen appears smaller, but that’s always been the case on that Telemundo channel. I made sure I also had the 10PM one scheduled to record. I settled in around 9PM after I got back from book group. Well, it turns out that when I switched to the local channel, Ch. 48, the West Coast Telemundo, there was the same caption problem. So I am able to recap all right, but I would prefer to watch the 10PM version since the screen is bigger and clearer. Sigh.
We again see Aslan lose it and send everyone except Hulya from the Dining Room.
Aslan: “Behind me is Yusuf Soyhan (his portrait), who killed people with his own hands. And here his son looks closely at him. He’s worked without rest for 5 years so no one will end up like his father. How many times have I told you to keep out of my affairs? Not once, not twice, not 10 times. But you don’t listen. If it only were just me, I’d go to Ilyas and say ‘yes, I killed your son for being a terrible person.’ But I can’t because my family is involved. You don’t let me escape from this cage. This will end up badly for everyone.
Hulya, of course, doesn’t admit doing anything wrong. Her response: “How did this all start? Why did Ilyas come here today? Because you married badly. You need to divorce this woman, and you know this.” Aslan: “I won’t say this again. Don’t say another word about my marriage from now on.” And he leaves. We see that Leyla has overheard this.
Yagmur is freaking out about the way Ilyas looked at her just before he left. “If he knew (about Serhat and Yagmur’s history), he’d shoot me. Devin tries hard to calm her sister. Seher enters, glares at Devin, and calls her Hulya (!!).
Devin asks Aslan if she turned into a Soykan that fast. “A normal woman would be frightened, and I’m not.” Aslan asks her what she does feel. She replies: ”¡Fuerza!” (strength or power). [Interesting choice of words by the dubbing team. Strength could mean able to withstand anything because of her love. Or power could allude to her becoming like Hulya, which Seher seemed to sense.]
We see children racing beside Ilyas’ car, seemingly because he’s known for bringing gifts when he visits his mother. Ati welcomes him, but Ilyas doesn’t shake his outstretched hand. Somehow Ati is outside Ilyas’s mother’s house. Ilyas: “What’s going on?”
The Soykans are having breakfast. Seher again addresses Devin as Hulya, asking about Ilyas’s visit. Aslan reminds his grandmother who Devin is. Aslan gets a call from Ilyas, who asks him to come to his mother’s house. She’s cooking. Aslan tells the family he has to go to work. He talks briefly with Isok and Tolgut. Isok asks if the rice and white beans are on the table.
Tolgut wants to know about this while he, Isok and Aslan are on the way. Isok explains that Ilyas’s father beat his mother for many years. He drank and then beat her. Ilyas’s mother cooked those things. The father came home, drunk, and asked why she had pepinillos (pickles) on the table. Ilyas was 13 or 14 at the time. He stabbed his father in the heart. Tolgut: “It’s bad if there are beans, right?” [Not sure I understood this about the type of food. The Spanish was pickles but there was something about beans and rice.]
#21 – Part 2 of 3
Ilyas’s main bodyguard tries to pat Aslan down and is vehemently refused. Ilyas tells the guy that Aslan is also his nephew.
Ceylan can’t reach Ati by phone. Yagmur again calls her Bambi and tries to calm her. Ceylan asks what happened with Eko (who, of course, is eavesdropping). Yagmur says it’s over and the best thing that could happen. They’re from different worlds.
Eko seems nervous being a passenger in Devin’s car. She’s on her way to her office, and I assume he’s meant to be her bodyguard. He wants to drive, but she ignores him. She asks him if it’s over with Yagmur. He repeats what he overheard about different worlds. She asks if he judged Yagmur for her past. He says he did not, and he told Doña Hulya the same. Devin bristles and says that Hulya poisoned his mind.
Just then Nese calls in a panic. She needs Devin to come right away. We see that her furniture is being taken from that house.
Aslan asks about Kemet, Ilyas’s mother. Ilyas says he hasn’t got her away from that house in 50 years. And she won’t let anyone else cook. Ilyas stares fixedly at Aslan. He says he told his mother to be sure Aslan eats well. [You could cut the tension with a knife.]
Devin pulls up to confront Ergun, her despicable father. Apparently, her mother signed something. She says she needed money and didn’t understand what she was signing. Ergun says it’s over; the house is up for sale. Devin tells her father to leave after he insults her mafia husband again. Devin tells Nese that she’s coming to “the farm” and asks Eko to find another ride and bring her mother’s stuff.
Ilyas says that Serhat has disappeared. He sent some messages from Thailand, but he knows his son doesn’t have that kind of courage. Something happened. The lawyer, Suat, also disappeared. Aslan keeps looking steadily into his eyes while this is said.
Leyla asks Tolga for a divorce. “Aren’t you tired of faking it all these years? It’s your chance to make a new life.” He laughs again and again. “Do you think your mother would let this happen?”
Kemet puts some food on the table. Whoops, there’s rice. Ilyas says one of those type of Turkish riddles we’ve heard before: “You don’t get answers asking questions.” He pulls out a knife that’s a sort of switchblade and the blade springs out. He tells the story of his father. He asked him if he would drink and beat his wife again. He said no. But he drank again and began to beat her. “I put this very knife into his heart. That day I stopped asking questions.”
There are also beans! Ilyas tells Aslan he knows that he’s (Aslan is) cleaning up the Soykan businesses. It’s useless to ask questions now. He says that Aslan was born in his hand. That’s another good story.
After they eat, Aslan comes out and Ilyas embraces him.
#21 – Part 3 of 3
Ilyas tells his main guy that what happened to Serhat was for things or for women. He asks the guy to investigate which women Serhat has been seeing lately.
Aslan tells Turgut they’re going to see Ati. He’s the one who got Ilyas involved. Turgut says that, if that idiot Ibo hadn’t killed the lawyer, none of this would have happened. Aslan says one thing after another is trying to turn him into his father. But he won’t let it happen.
Hulya grills Ibo again at his restaurant. He finally admits he didn’t kill Buket. He says he’s not Yusuf Soykan. [Whoa. novelera’s eyes bug out. Yusuf killed women?] He insists that the woman is terrified and won’t talk. She says that, if the woman talks, Ilyas won’t come with rifles and pistols. He’ll destroy the family with the secret he knows. [Oh boy!] Hulya insists she has to see that woman (Buket, I assume). Ibo agrees.
Aslan comes to see Ati. Ati is wearing his usual smirk. Ati asks why Aslan is so angry. He says something I didn’t understand about an O at the end of a phrase. Then he says it’s time that the Soykans sit in Ati’s lap, patting said lap. "Otherwise Ilyas will find out you killed his son."
Aslan leans forward, fixing him with those intense eyes. “Ilyas may learn this, but you’re the worst student I’ve met in my life." [Something about the O at the end of a phrase.] Ati writes his terms on a napkin. 1. Get your uncle away from my channel. 2. You’ll pay me this amount for what you’ve done to my channel (he writes a number) and 3. Never again come to my house.
Aslan doesn’t look at what he wrote, crumbling the napkin. “My father was a man who killed with his own hands. My name means lion, and it’s been a weight on me. I’ve been trying to keep that lion in his cage. I’m having a bad time lately, and I don’t want to be like my father. Why are you constantly messing with the door to the cage. I’m telling you I’m hungry and you look more and more like a deer. Don’t do this.”
Ati: “Or what?” Aslan: “Or one night this lion will leave his cage for the first time, come to this forest, find the deer, raise him up in his hand and tear him to pieces. An old man said to me recently that you won’t get answers asking questions. Can you understand what I’m saying to you?”
Cihan comes home and accidentally knocks over Aysel’s purse. The sonogram falls out. “What’s this?” Aslan laughs at her. “You think you’ll be a Soykan having a child with me? Everyone has plans these days.” She says it could be a memory. He tells her that this will end tomorrow.
Cemre, the kind nurse, and Leyla talk. When Cemre apologies for mentioning divorce, Layla says that she’s getting one. She hasn’t told her mother yet. But she realizes marrying Tolga was a big mistake. Hulya comes home. You can see that she doesn’t like Leyla’s friendship with Cemre.
Aslan tells the guys that the plan is going to change. “Cancel the thing with Suat.” [Is he not sure Suat is dead?] “Do we still have the thumb? We’ll set it up so Ilyas strangles Ati. Ati was the one who called Ilyas. He brought it up. The perpetrator is the first one to give condolences, and Ilyas knows this. He knows the relationship between Ati and Serhat. They’re both prone to bad habits; they’re both drug users. The suspicion will fall on us and also on Ati. They’ll investigate to the very bottom the relationship between Ati and Serhat and act accordingly. But this much is clear. Ati is going to die. [What about the thumb, Aslan? Explain, please.]
Kat in SC: Looking forward to seeing your recap of last night's episode. #SAVEANA
Thanks, novelera. Great job in spite of the caption issue.
The Turkish word Devin used to describe her feelings was “güç”, which can be translated as strength or power. I saw two English translations—one said power, the other strength. Translator’s choice. My mind immediately went to “power”. To me, it fits with what Devin is experiencing.
I get hungry every time they show a meal in a dizi.
In the Turkish, Ilyas’ father had complained there were no pickles served with the pilav.
Ilyas’ mother, Kiymet, made nohutlu pilav, chickpeas with rice pilaf. Isko was talking about white beans and rice pilaf, which is kuru fasulye ve pilav. Does it matter what kind of bean was served? It’s a warning to Aslan, who shoved a big spoonful of those chickpeas into his mouth. Afiyet olsun!
Ay… the way Kiymet held Aslan’s face in her hands and looked at him after she put the pickles on the table (Aslan made sure to conceal his gun). Then she looked over at Ilyas.
Gaah, Aslan should just buy the house for Nese. Get it over with. The less I see of her, the better.
FWIW, here’s my “free” translation from Turkish: Ati asked Aslan, why are you angry? I learned this from you. If there is no “or” at the end of a sentence, the sentence remains useless. Now the Soykans are going to sit on Ati’s lap or else Ilyas will learn you killed Serhat. Aslan’s response: You can’t learn this. In order for the word “or” to be useful, the speaker must not be useless. [Lol, Ati and Aslan used the same word used for Serhat’s “problem”, unguided. It seems to have various usages. I think useless works here.]
The initial plan was to plant the thumb in Suat’s office to frame him for Serhat. Now they are going to frame Ati with it. ITA Aslan, Ati is going to die. He’s too stupid to live. But I’m not sure if it will end up with Ilyas or Aslan doing the job. If Aslan finds out Ati has been messing with Ceylan...
Wowee wow Novelera , thank you for delivering all the twists and turns .
Donde, thank you for the extra explanations .
The actor playing ilyas knows how to bring the quiet terror. I never would have recognized him from Fatmagul , but that show was pretty long ago.
I am wondering what the different foods mean...chick peas, white beans , pickles . I have taught people from all over , and I know that Lots of chick peas, hummus, tabouleh is eaten in the middle east and women do the food preparations from scratch.
Is AsLan Ilyas 's actual nephew or was this just a term of endearment .?
Hmmm...I have a caraycaray crockpot theory...Ilyas says Asian was delivered into his hand plus there is a big Soykan secret ...Could Ilyas be Aslan 's real father? There was something about the way that both Ilyas and his mother held Aslan's face in their hands and stared at him .
Is Devin taking loose cannon Nese to the Soykan house? Wow, that is going to be an interesting ingredient to this bubbling pot of dysfunction and danger.
Dynamite + match---boom. Susan
Perhaps that quote " you don't get answers asking questions" is similar to our expression " actions speak louder than words.". Susan
MANY THANKS, novelera, for this splendid recap.
I'm finding this dizi leaves me with more questions than answers. For example, I'm still wondering what sort of look Ilyas gave Yagmur that freaked her out. Does he know who she is even before being introduced? Has he somehow met her before? Most worrisome of all, can he connect her with Serhat?
And OMG, I can just imagine Hulya's response when Devin brings her mother to stay at "the farm." Yep, Devin certainly does have fuerza. Some might say cojones.
The scene where Aslan is presented with beans and rice had me holding my breath. I'm still not sure what foods might have signalled impending disaster.
When Leyla asked Tolga "Aren't you tired of faking it for all these years," I had the feeling Tolga laughed so hard because he found it very funny that Leyla, without knowing about his BDSM, described so well his being "tired of faking it."
I'm still unsure what it means when Ilyas says Aslan was born in his hand.
So I guess Aslan's unpleasant encounter with Ati makes him decide to change the plan and have Ati seem to be the one who did in Serhat. But like you, novelera, I want to know how Serhat's thumb is going to play a part.
Gracias, Novelera. Sorry for the caption trouble, but your recap is super. You gave us all the beans (and rice)! ;>
Ay, first we wonder if Aslan and Devin will have an HEA. Now we wonder if Devin will turn into Hulya. I sure hope the good psychologist doesn't go over the edge. Mama Seher mistaking her for Hulya, twice, should give Devin pause.
Ati has got to go. Why he thinks he can go toe to toe with Aslan is beyond me.
I don't blame Hulya for being fed up about Nesse living at the estate, but I'm guessing Nesse will fawn all over Hulya and diss her own daughter again.
Ibo is nuts if he follows through and lets Hulya meet the lawyer's widow.
Susan, I don’t think Ilyas meant Aslan is an actual nephew, but that he’s like family to him. You have an interesting crockpot theory. We know there’s some sort of secret that will burn the whole family.
“Dynamite + match---boom.” The Turks say, “ateş ve barut” fire and gunpowder.
My recaps will be a day behind since I didn't watch last night. My posts weren't posting so I decided to skip watching and doing the recap last night. I just enjoyed watching the 2 Univision TNs instead and called it a night.
I got the impression that the garbanzos don't count as death beans, but maybe that's just because Aslan came out of there alive. That's a harsh way to let someone know they're done for, but at least they get a good last meal out of this. A couple Turkish recipes came up on Guardian this week and I'm trying the fish and ezme (like a chimichurri) one, but it won't be nearly as good as what they're serving.
Can they maybe plant the thumb on Tolga? That guy needs the beans and rice.

1.Opens with Fern calling Eugenio's cell (a number she has never forgotten). He wants to see her alone, tonight.
2. Roberto tries to talk to Elisa, all she wants is a divorce.
3. Adelberto tries to convince Brenda to move back home and get away from that pod of killer whales ( or some whale euphemism). Both Adelberto and Adolpho want their respective children to spy on their in laws and tell them the dirt. Adelberto presents his new associate, Eugenio to Brenda.
4. Roberto continues to beg, you are the love of my life. Elisa doesn't love him. Her memories hold her back. He can't believe she is still in love with the gardener (Francisco). She says she remembers how that love felt and it isn't how she feels for him. He says he refuses to get a divorce.
5.Miguel comes to see Tania in her store.
6.Erika gossips with Ana ( I guess she now is her caretaker during the day, too bad she doesn't have someone around the clock) about Adolpho s half brother Eugenio. Poor Ana recalls her first client from the previous night at the bar. Erika notices she is spaced out and asks what's the matter. Ana is dissallusuined with herself. She says she's an 'asco' ( awful?)
7. Adelberto says Brenda is married to one of the del Pinot's. Eugenio says, I'm so sorry. Daddy tells her if their plan to merge the 2 companies and make her suegro a minority shareholder.
8.manuel continues his conversation with Tania. He wants to know how she is doing and that she needs professional help to get over her obsession with Alonso. She assured him even though she has said over and over again that she wasn't seeing him anymore and lied, that she has now totally cut him out of her life.
9. Erika tells Ana she has a new chance at life thanks to Frank. Ana says she has failed ( flashback to her accepting the prostitution gig). Erika insists everything will be ok. Ana says how when she is guilty of killing her mother. Erika says you need to accept Francisco's help and go see a psychiatrist.
10. Brenda is with Alfredo and Gabriel at home. I think she is telling them her father's plans for the company with Eugenio.
11. Tania tells Manuel she is getting professional help. Her only hope is that if and when he thinks of her it isn't in hate or bitterness.
11. Manuel, Fermin and Frank are hanging out in the condo drinking beer. Manuel says he went to see Tania. That chapter in my life is closed.
12. Another 30 seconds scenes as it cuts away to Tania telling Elisa about her talk with Manuel.
13 back to the 3vamigos. I think they are telling Frank now is the time to talk to Elisa ( and disclose the truth perhaps), but what about Fernanda?
13. Claudia is trying to talk Erika into going to the strip bar to see the show. Erika says the idea is revolting.
14. Alfredo tells Gabriel his pi was useless. Gabriel defends him saying Beltran's death was in all the papers. Then Alfredo asks why he hasn't spoken with his 'sicario" ( assassin, had to look that word up) about their plan. Dad, you told me this wasn't the time for that. Alfredo says things have changed, this is now an emergency.
15. Speaking of the sicario, he (goatee guy) and Miguel are talking in the bar about the job some guy wants him to do. Miguel tells him next time you meet get photos of licence plate of the guy hiring you so we can investigate him.
16. Erika says fine we'll go to your friends bar.
17. Francis with Ana on the phone. He plans to see her tomorrow. She says Erika told her about Beltran. Manuela knew about the will and she was a witness...his grandmother visited her in the clinic and told her things, but she was too drugged to speak to her. She thinks Manuela and Beltran's mother were friends. Why didn't you tell me this before Ana. I don't know. I just remembered it. I bet you don't believe me and am making this up also.
18.Goatee guy (GG) tells Miguel his druggie girl is bearing fruit...
19. The three amigos are trying to connect the dots about the timing of his grandmother's death and learning of Beltran. They believe Alfredo had the most to gain by killing her.

Kat in SC: I KNEW Brenda might not be with the living once Gabriel & Alfredo whack the Daddy & Mommy Ferrero.
Eugenio should sit back & let the del Pino's destroy each other.
Juanita: This is getting more deadlier similar to the Colombian original "PURA SANGRE". Yet, Ana is still drugged up & in danger.
Halimacandy: The Body Count will increase BIGLY again. Marcelo & Tania need to WATCH THEIR BACKS because one or both could be next.
Many edits to scenes and dialog. Bad translations. If I included all of them in detail, my recap would be twice as long. I mentioned some for clarity or continuity.
Aslan sets up his plan to frame Ati for Serhat’s death.
Aslan arrives home and Hulya is waiting for him outside. He doesn’t want to talk to her. That’s ok with her for now. She’s more concerned about the arrival of Nese.
Inside, Nese is recounting how she was thrown out of her house. Aslan asks her what happened. She says, Ergun is at it again. I was going through a bad time, and he took advantage of it. He showed up with an eviction notice and I signed it. I don’t remember signing it, but today he showed up to remove all my possessions. Devin offered to help. I hate to be a burden.
Aslan tells her this is her home, too. She’s welcome to stay. Settle in, rest before dinner. Hulya is not pleased but says nothing. Nese is grateful.
Devin takes Aslan aside. He askes her if he needs to intervene. Devin says it’s not necessary. She can handle it, but she will need Turgut’s help. Is he available? Aslan is surprised by her request. He remembers she said, “being a Soykan is in your blood, you can’t get rid of it.” Devin facetiously replies, [Turkish] I’ll ask [Turgut] to kill my father. There’s no other way out. Ha, Aslan doesn’t immediately get the joke.
Edit: Devin speaks with Turgut. Turgut is uneasy with Devin’s request. He’d rather beat the crap out of Ergun. Devin says they can’t. She wants him to find some records and she will take care of the rest. He doesn’t like paperwork, that’s Hulya’s kind of business. He’s a take action guy. Turgut loses the battle.
Also edit: Isko tells Turgut they found footage of Serhat attacking Ati at his TV station.
Soykan family dinner + Nese. [slight dialog edit] Nese thanks Hulya for taking time to deal with her problem, and adds, these things sometimes happen in divorced families. Devin steps in to stop the topic and says she will take care of the house issue. Hulya makes snide comments about finding the right person. If you’ve taken a wrong turn, you must know how to go back. Otherwise, there’s trouble.
Since the topic has been opened, Leyla takes this opportunity to reveal her plans to everyone. Tolga gets nervous. She excuses her children from the table. She asks the help to take Seher to her room. Leyla begins, I’ve made a decision. I’ve decided to get divorced. Family is shocked. Ceylan asks if she is serious.
Yes, I’m serious, Leyla replies, why are you surprised? Hulya says this shouldn’t be discussed in front of guests. Who put that idea in your head? Let’s talk later. Leyla wants to talk now. Aren’t we a big happy family? Hulya bangs the table—enough! Leyla fires back—I don’t think so! I’m not done. Tolga tries to stop Leyla. She snaps at him, you laughed and walked away when we were talking earlier.
Aslan gives it a try and tells Leyla, you’re angry now. Calm down. This opens the floodgates. I won’t calm down, she replies, I’m at my limit. Yes, I’m angry, very angry! I have rights! I’m angry because I’ve been living a life I don’t want! She rises from her chair. I’m done! I’m at my limit!
Leyla looks at Hulya. Did you forget how you told him last night to divorce Devin? I can’t divorce, she asks, why doesn’t it go both ways? Why can’t you support me for once? You forced me into this marriage, and you know it! You fancy yourself the matriarch, but you’re nothing but a hypocrite and a bad mother! [brava, Leyla, brava!] You’ve spent years ignoring me and what’s been done to me! I’ve always felt misunderstood! Why, mother? Answer!
They edited out or completely changed bits of Leyla’s speech. Leyla asks, what would dad say if he was here? Ignoring cruelty is a betrayal of the oppressed!
Leyla’s fire finally burns out. She calmly says, I’m done living by your rules. And she walks away from the table. Devin gets up from the table. The rest of the family is stunned.
Devin goes outside to Leyla and gives her a hug. They will talk later.
Devin goes into the kitchen where Hulya is berating the staff. She asks for a minute alone with Hulya. Devin starts, since setting boundaries for your daughters wasn’t enough, you also meddled with Yagmur and Eko. The Protector of Morality isn’t done yet. She wants to separate me from Aslan.
Hulya puts her cards on the table. Since you came into this house, that was always the plan. I warned my son, but he didn’t listen. What happened today was thanks to you. You’re the worst disaster my son and family have faced.
Devin snarks, go ahead, speak plainly, Pandora’s box is now open. Hulya doesn’t hesitate. I want you to leave! I want you out of my family and Aslan’s life! Devin laughs. I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying here. Try if you want, you can’t get rid of me.
Hulya asks, do you think you are Hulya Soykan? You can’t become a Soykan without paying the price! I’ll show you when the time comes. Don’t hold back, Devin replies, I’ll be waiting for you. Devin walks away.
According to Aslan’s plan, Isko and Turgut have brought “evidence” to Ilyas. He looks at the footage from Ati’s station. He asks, when did this happen? Isko says just days ago. Serhat stormed the office. Isko asks, have you heard about it? Ilyas says he spoke with Ati recently. He said Serhat visited his office, they spoke and had coffee. But it seems they didn’t have an enjoyable conversation.
Isko continues with the info. You know Serhat was addicted to drugs. He and Ati had a lot in common. They used to spend time together at a house. I gave Gokhan [Ilyas’ henchie] the address. The dealer [Lokman, who was shot and gave up Ati’s location earlier] was there recently. Isko asks, isn’t Serhat in Thailand? You know better than I, but Ati called you. The first to attend the funeral… Ilyas interrupts—the first to attend the funeral is the killer.
Ilyas tells the men to send his regards to Aslan. They leave. Ilyas asks Gokhan if he has an update. Yes, Serhat kept an escort in Izmir. We found out through Lokman.
Aslan comes to speak with Tolga. Tolga can’t deal with him now. My family is falling apart! Calm down, Aslan replies, I’m not here to confront. Do you need someone to talk to? Tolga is surprised. Aslan says, we will go out tomorrow. A short ride. Tolga must be wondering if his life is in danger.
Leyla is still outside. She takes off her wedding ring and puts it in her pocket. Aslan comes out and tells her, let’s go remember Dad. Devin comes out, where are you going? Aslan tells her to come along. She quietly asks Turgut if she did what he asked. Turgut says it will be ready tomorrow.
Edit: Nese complains about being given a small room and comments on the craziness at dinner. Yagmur can’t stand it anymore and goes outside.
Cihan is driving. He’s thinking about his last convo with Aysel. The sonogram. “This is all we can leave behind in this world. We can kill it if you want, like all nice things.” He thinks to call Aslan but changes his mind.
Edit: Eko brings the keys to Devin’s place. Since Yagmur is outside, he gives them to her. Typical, she starts a fight, a rehash of their last fight and breakup. She’s insufferable, he can’t get a word in or calm her down. Finally, He grabs her by the arms and shouts that he’s only doing what she wanted. She headbutts him and gives him a nosebleed. He leaves. Nese runs out and is horrified her daughter had something to do with that driver.
Hulya calls Ibo. I need to make sure that woman won’t make trouble for us. I want to meet her in person tomorrow afternoon. Ibo agrees.
Edit: Ibo visits Buket. She is furious and has to be restrained from attacking him. He walks out.
Aslan has brought them to the woods to shoot at beer bottles. It’s how they unwind. Devin is put off by it. Leyla explains it was something their father did with them. Aslan asks Leyla what’s the problem with Tolga. She says, it’s money, what else? Leyla asks Devin if she’d like to try. Aslan pipes up, no, don’t let her. She’s become interested in dark deeds.
Leyla gets a call from Cemre. Leyla tells her she told her family. She gave her speech, 17 years too late, but she did it. She tells Cemre, it happened thanks to you. Cemre hopes she didn’t cause trouble.
Devin is ticked at Aslan. I’ve asked you many times not to answer on my behalf. If I shoot or not, it’s none of your business. He replies, have you noticed how our many problems have poisoned you lately? The Devin who didn’t want the Soykan name is gone. You send Turgut to do jobs. Do you know how you wade into the dark side? First you take a gun, you examine it, it takes a hold. It becomes a part of you, and you don’t want to leave it.
Nonsense, Devin snaps back. Then hold it, Aslan replies. He holds out the gun. She remembers holding the gun that was Aslan’s wedding gift. She tells him she’s cold and goes to wait in the car.
Leyla returns and asks Aslan, if Dad were still alive… what would he have said to me today? Aslan thinks he would have supported her. She’s not so sure. He didn’t think to leave me a letter before he shot himself. Maybe he did it to protect you, Aslan says. Look what he did to us. His letters have destroyed us.
Leyla asks, have you opened your letter? No, why should I, says Aslan, the cowardly lion, of course not. You think I don’t know what’s written in there? If I mess up, he’ll haunt me forever. They cut: if Dad were alive now, seeing how I am trying to amend things, he would spit in my face!
Cihan is at his father’s grave. Do you know why I always turn to you? I have no one else. There is a possibility that I wanted to share with you. I was given one of those pictures… something that looks like a bean. We don’t know yet if it’s a boy or a girl.
Cut to Ceylan, her phone in one hand, the pillbox in the other. Her phone cuts out and it’s WTH…
Slight dialog edit here. A teary Cihan continues, it’s likely a boy. You know they say, boys become men when their fathers die. You left me like this. Dad, who killed you? Did I kill you? Cihan cries. Did I do it? He crawls onto the grave and lies down.
Ilyas eats a dish of chickpeas at the table and asks Gokhan for another update. He says, we found a finger at the address that Isko mentioned. He hands over a box and Ilyas opens it. It could be Serhat’s. Ilyas asks Gokhan to get the safe from Serhat’s office.
Edit: Gokhan also brought Lokman, who cries and begs for his life before Ilyas. I’m just a simple dealer. I told them about the escort, Hande! That’s all I know, abi! Ilyas takes a piece of bread and wipes up the last of his dish. He takes out his gun and kills Lokman. Then he takes more chickpeas. Kiymet hears and gets out of bed. Ilyas apologizes for waking her. All she says is, you can’t eat that without lemon.
Edit: come morning, Cihan is still sleeping on Yusuf’s grave. He gets a call from Aysa reminding him he has an appointment with Devin.
Tolga calls Ibo and cries, I’m dead. Ibo assures Tolga that Aslan won’t kill him… but he could maim you. Tolga is panicked. Aren’t you going to protect me? I’m in trouble because of you. Ibo reminds Tolga that he started this mess because he couldn’t control himself. Ibo ends the call.
The woman who is with Ibo, laughs. He hands her a wad of lira. She asks, should I keep working as a dominatrix, Ibrahim? The money is good. I’d like to keep doing it. Ibo replies with a smile, if Tolga doesn’t die today, you will.
The safe is brought to Ilyas. Kiymet is watching as he takes the thumb out of the box. It opens the safe. It’s devastating. Ilyas sends his men out of the room. Kiymet tells her son, you’ll never forget this pain. Find whoever is responsible.
Edits: Nese shamelessly enjoys herself in the pool. Devin gets a reminder from Aysa she has an appointment with Sadik. Hulya overhears this. Aslan takes Tolga for the ride. Turgut hands a file to Devin. Devin asks Eko what happened to his face. He replies, Yagmur. She smiles.
Devin barges into Ergun’s office. (She’s also brought Eko, Turgut and Isko along.) She drops a folder on Ergun’s desk. A summary of his dirty deeds. Writing prescriptions for unregistered patients. Falsified birth certificates. Buying equipment from unlicensed providers. Insurance fraud. Devin laughs, hard work? if I didn’t know you as well as I do, I’d believe you. My mother’s things will be brought back today. Mission accomplished.
Aslan and Tolga arrive at an office. Aslan points, my father sat there. I was there, you here. Just like my father trusted a fool like you that day, he entrusted you with his daughter and the keys to his safe. What did you do? Tolga is silent. Aslan shouts, what did you do?!
Aslan goes to his waistband. Tolga shuts his eyes and waits for it… But Aslan takes a packet of US dollars out and put it on the table. Take it, it’s yours. You knew my father well. How would my father react to your betrayal of him and his daughter… if he were alive? Tolga hangs his head. Aslan orders him to look at him. He asks, do you know why you’re still alive? Your children. Take that money, however much you need and settle this.
Edit: Aslan makes Tolga sign a contract that will make him the head of a new firm. Aslan leaves and calls his lawyer about the contract. The lawyer says, the risks are great. If this firm goes under, Tolga will receive a long sentence.
Cihan apologizes to Devin for coming in so dirty. He went to visit his father’s grave. He was drunk, it was late, so he slept there. I might become a father, he says. Devin is surprised. He continues, I wanted to talk to someone… I can only talk to him.
Devin asks how he feels about becoming a father. There are movies like this, Cihan replies, bad movies. You want to stop watching, but you stick around to the end. [that’s how I feel about some TNs and dizis.] Devin counters, but sometimes it’s a good movie and you don’t want to move.
Our movies are always bad, Cihan says, you watched the trailer—Ilyas Koruzade. At the end, someone sacrifices themselves. It’s usually me. Devin notes he’s said that before. [too many times.] Sacrifice isn’t the only way to obtain love. You could write a different ending to that story.
Ibo calls Ati. You made a request to Aslan and he made himself clear to me, he says. You don’t want to be my partner, okay, but you also asked for money. I won’t be involved in that. Ati says don’t worry, Aslan will handle it. Ibo ends the call. We see Aslan sitting with Ibo.
Well done, nephew, Ibo says. You came up with a good plan. You will distance Ati from Ilyas without getting your hands dirty. Aslan replies, you want me to think I’m like my father because we’re working together. But you won’t get your way. Remember that.
Are you saying you’re comfortable in your cage, Ibo asks. Let me tell you something. A lion doesn’t belong in a cage. It belongs outdoors in the forest. Aslan asks, do you know what would happen if that lion left its cage? He’d eat you one by one.
Ilyas calls Ati and asks him to come to his house, his mother is cooking. Eat with us. Ati is puzzled but accepts. Kiymet is at the table. She’s sorting rice. And there’s a bowl of white beans, too.
Gokhan tells Ilyas he asked for pics of the prostitute that Lokman mentioned.
Yagmur and Ceylan are with Seher. Ceylan gets a malware alert on her phone. She suspects her mother and starts a huge argument with her about spying and controlling her. I have a right to privacy, Ceylan shouts. Ceylan storms off and locks herself in her room. Hulya bangs on her door but gets the location for Buket, so she leaves. Yagmur is in the hallway.
Yagmur goes to the door. Ceylan, can we talk? Ceylan takes some pills. Maybe lots of pills.
Cihan returns home. Aysel is there. He plops on the couch and turns on the TV—it’s “Delibal” (trans. Crazy Honey). [BTW, I saw that movie. And there is such a thing as Turkish Mad Honey. You can google it if interested.] Aysel asks if they are going to the clinic. No, he replies, [Turkish] maybe this movie is good.
Hulya comes to see Buket. Hulya gets her to calm down a bit. I’m a woman who understands exactly how you feel. Like you, I was trapped in this world. I couldn’t save myself. You’re young, you’ll be safe. Buket cries, they’re going to kill me. Hulya says that won’t happen here. This will end. [yeah, but how?] I only ask for one thing. You’re not going to tell anyone about this, okay? I’ll get passports, IDs, money. I’ll get you out of the country.
Tolga tries to talk to Leyla. She slaps him with divorce papers.
Hulya speaks with Ibo. He asks, she agreed? She did, Hulya replies, give her money and she’ll leave. Ibo seems surprised. We see a suspicious looking guy and as Hulya drives past him, they glance at each other. This doesn’t look good for Buket.
Ceylan faints from the drugs. Yagmur desperately tries to get in the room. She shouts for everyone’s help. The housekeeper calls Hulya. Yagmur calls Devin. Devin calls Aslan.
Leyla and Yagmur help Ceylan into bed. Leyla gets in with her. Hulya arrives and rips into Ceylan. Then she blames Yagmur. Nese gets involved. Hulya tells her, have you ever thought why we live in this house with an army of bodyguards? Leyla tries to intervene.
Hulya can’t be stopped. It’s because of Yagmur! [Turkish] Because of your daughter’s drug use and life in Izmir, we became enemies to those closest to us! We are in danger! Didn’t you know this, Nese? Yagmur leaves the room in shame.
Aslan arrives and takes over from Leyla. He orders everyone out of the room. He holds Ceylan. He wants to know what she took. He looks at the pills. He asks, who gave it to you? Ceylan says she asked for them. She needed to relax. He’s not at fault. Nothing happened between your friend and me. Aslan is startled. What friend? He presses for an answer. She says Ati. But it’s not his fault. I asked him.
Aslan isn’t even listening. He thinks back to his convo with Ati, “I don’t want to be like my father! Why are you always playing with the cage door? I’m hungry and you’re starting to look like a deer. This lion will leave his cage and find a deer. He’ll tear him to pieces.”
Aslan emerges from Ceylan’s room and walks past everyone. He’s remembering the convo with Ibo. “You want me to think I’m like my father.” Know what would happen if the lion escaped his cage? He’ll tear everyone to pieces. I ’m trying to keep the lion caged! I don’t want to be like my father!
And we are out. Question of the day: Who is getting to Ati first, Ilyas or Aslan?
Gracias, Donde. Super recap with all the details I needed. I'm enjoying the rich dialogue and your inclusion of the edited scenes is icing on the cake.
The poor caged lion can't catch a break. I hope Aslan lets Ilyas take care of Ati.
I fear for Buket. If Hulya has her killed, Ibo should have no illusion that he wouldn't kill a woman. He'll be as much to blame for the murder for bringing Hulya there in the first place.
Bravo to Devin for shutting down her pop. I can't quite see Turgut going through the doctor's records, so I'm guessing that's where Iskoc came in. If Devin could only get Nese to stop signing anything Ergun gives her.
Leyla feels so liberated. I hope it lasts. So we learn that she and Aslan are both good shots.
Episode opens with Alfredo and Gabriel discussing the elimination of his in laws, and eventually Brenda, after she has the baby
Brenda asks where Gabriel was. He's been talking with the lawyers about the problem her father has created with the company. She's sorry but he says it's not her fault. But be prepared if we lose our family will be in a very precarious situation.
Eugenio and afern argue about what he expects from her. He says if you don't do it it will be a shame if your daughter ( who is close to you though you have no clue who she is,) should be harmed. She can't believe he would kill his own daughter. He then threatens to do away with Mirna since she knows everything. She says she will do whatever he wants but please no more killing. He then reminds her he can turn her in for the murder of her stepfather, and she is the actual killer of everyone to date so watch out.
Erika and Fermin rush from the table to get to Ana.
Eugenio asks Fernanda about her romance with the Mexican, Emilio. He is an associate, the company needed more investors. This convo was a bit beyond me. Feel free to add your thoughts. Does Eugenio really know about their affair or is it a fishing expedition?
Back at the bar. Ana says she needs money, that's why she is there. Fermin says money for what? Francisco is providing everything for you. Erika says everything but drugs. Ana is ashamed. Fermin needs to let Francisco know. Erika sends him for the car.
Fernanda is trying her seduction moves on Eugenio, everything can be as before. He's not buying it, you tried to kill me! She tries to choke him demanding he return her daughter to her.
Oh great, Claudia is spilling the all beans about Ana to Miguel and GG (goatee guy). Erika and Fermin had to rescue her. Miguel shares a look with GG…
Mirna at home gets a call from Eugenio. She knows he wants to kill her for telling Fernanda about her daughter. He says don't be so dramatic. I won't kill you. There are much worse things I can and will do to you.
Elisa tells Tania she is thinking about Emilio and Francisco. ( Tennis match of scenes coming up….)
Francisco tells Marcelo I should never have doubted her ( about turning him in for the statutory rape 10 years ago).
Elisa, we should have stayed together and fought for what we wanted, r.e. her relationship with Francisco.
Francisco to Marcelo, hopefully she will forgive me. Marcelo brings up Fernanda again…
Elisa, after 10 years I imagine he has a new relationship.
Francisco, after 10 years of silence. I think he mentions the Fern affair and that some things are very difficult for a woman to understand (assuming he means they need sex.)
Thanks so much, dondi. Just an excellent recap and we all really appreciate your time and effort putting in what Telemundo thinks we don't need to see!
Nese is an anvil around her daughters' necks. Hmm. Have these writers ever seen a decent mother? Maybe we're supposed to think Kiymet is one, but she gives me the creeps. I also noticed the white beans. I love cannellinis myself.
I adored Leyla's takedown of her mother. Hulya tried to postpone the big scene thinking she'd get her way as she always has done so far.
Cowardly Lion (about the letter). Ha!
At long last I think Ergun is done and dusted. I was smiling from ear to ear as he perused that file with his crooked dealings all there in black and white. Now Devin just needs to make sure Nese stays put. At least Nese got a good look at Hulya in last night's episode. Maybe her sucking up is over.
I missed Hulya exchanging a look with some sketchy guy. Sigh.
The look on Aslan's face as he walked out of Ceylan's bedroom...well ITA that we hope it's Ilyas who gets to him first.
Yes, I'm pretty sure Hulya is going to have Buket killed. She wanted that all along, and Hulya nearly always gets what she wants.
There were absolutely no holds barred in that scene where Devin goes after Hulya. Hulya looks a bit lately like she's worried she'd losing her grip on everyone's lives.
These Turkish maxims! Whoever comes first to the funeral
Dondi, wowee wow, thank you for a spectacular recap of this episode .
Looks like Buket is a goner.
It's interesting watching this show while finishing up " Amor Prohibido" in which the actor portraying Aslan is a spoiled play boy, but not a violent person. Whenever I see or hear the name Aslan, I think of Asian in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe which my family watches every Christmas.
Since this is a dizi, I wonder if the writers will have the Galen commit murder. I don't think so. Ilyas has those beans all ready.
Susan
Kat, thank you for a great report on all the news. I haven't had a chance to watch this yet , but when I do, I will know what these crazy characters are saying thanks to you.
Eugenio and Alfredo are both monsters. I hope that they take each other out and take killing machine Fern with them .
I don't think FrankE is a galan to admire since he fell so quickly and easily under the spell of dragon!day Fern.
This show is lacking likeable characters . Susan
Erika and Fermin return Ana to her house. She says her need for drugs is stronger than ever. Please don't tell Francisco. I'm not a prostitute (her new refrain, ours is "poor Ana"). Erika wants her to rest and they will figure out what to do tomorrow.
Goatee guy has a name! Rafita. No more GG as long as I can remember it. Miguel can't believe it. Ana is the girl he was searching for for so long. Rafita says, thanks to me! Miguel asks if he got a picture of the license plate. He sends it to Miguel's phone.
Mirna goes to Eugenio's place. He kisses her on the cheek, so nice of you to come. Get down on your knees (I am having to look up a lot of words in this show which makes the recapping go really slow). You need to learn to obey me.
Erica is putting breakfast out for Ana. She asks when did you get here. Erika says she never left. She wanted to make sure Ana didn't go back out ( finally someone is looking out for her a bit). Ana says I imagine you told Francisco everything. Erika says no, because you are going to tell him after a while. Ana looks at her in disbelief.
Elisa and Emilio’s date. Emilio: It's so great to see you. Elisa: same here.
Fernanda gets a call from Miguel. She isn't giving him any more money. He says he has news. He's found Ana (kinda, don't think he knows where she lives and unless she goes back for more drugs from Rafita they may not find her). It will cost you a lot to get the information though.
Elisa tells Emilio she misses Ana and thinks she is dead. Emilio says you don't know that she is. She says it's obvious since her father didn't pay the kidnappers, they killed her. He says don't give up hope. At some point in time she may be reunited with her family. She then tells him about how she offered her shares to pay the ransom, etc…
Mirna asks what do you want from me Eugenio? First, tell me in detail what you told Fernanda when you came back. She says I simply told her the truth. You gifted me her child and that you lied to her all her life (and some other stuff I don't want to look up). He growls, a creature like you has no business criticizing me. He throws more insults and criticisms at her.
Alfonso and Gabriel are at a gym discussing the family business. Alfonso tells Gabriel if his wife had an ounce of intelligence she would move back home to Papa's house (where the money is), and away from you. That earns him a punch in the gut.
Erika is counseling Ana. Eat. It will help you have a more positive outlook on life. Ana isn't hungry.
Gabriel tells Alfonso that his problem is that he is a failure. Alfonso fires back what makes you so successful. You have a job by nepotism. You would be a messenger boy if you worked anywhere else. Gabriel says, and you would be the janitor. Alfonso doesn't want to work in the firm anyhow ( like he ever did). They insult each other some more. Alfonso warns him he may just lose everything, including Brenda.
And another insult fest between Monica and Fern. I didn't catch it all so I won't elaborate.
Elisa tells Emilio it really hurts her when Roberto didn't support her (quest to free Ana). He is more interested in staying in my dad's good graces. I don't love him. Emilio, did you not love him when you got married? I thought I did..he ticked all the boxes but, no I never loved him. I have loved someone with all my heart and that isn't how I feel for Roberto. Emilio smiles as their theme music plays. Commercial break.
Elisa tells her history with Francisco. She isn't looking for a new relationship at this time. He says we can be friends and think about coming back to work at the firm.
Roberto is bemoaning his relationship with Elisa to Gabriel. Gabe can't understand her at all. She's crazy. Roberto says if Gabriel can convince Papa to return her shares maybe her attitude will change ( is he looking for a divorce settlement if she gets them back? I wouldn't put it past him.) Gabriel will try but he can't promise success.
Paty brings coffee to Alfredo in his office. Some flirting goes on and the door gets locked and blinds close.
Back to the bickering Fern and Moni.moni gives as good as she gets. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
Mirna is still on her knees. He's telling her that she needs to tell Fern he was right in everything he did. She says you weren't right to take her child.she was only 14 (I thought maybe she was older when she had her). Eugenio says she was evil with a sick mind. Mirna says you were worse for using her in such a vile manner. Eugenio helps Mirna to her feet, then slaps her in the face and says I never asked for your opinion. They talk some more but this is more than I care to write…she has a split lip. He is affectionate to her. I wonder if they have a sexual past.
Ana is confessing to Francisco with Erika as backup. She has fallen so low. He says you told me you were seeing the psychiatrist., Ana, I know. It's my fault. How long have you been using? Since you moved me here and gave me some money. How did you get it after I quit giving you money? I paid for it by other means…
Tania is cleaning Mirna’s mouth wound and wonders how it happened. Mirna concocts a story about getting off the bus and tripping and falling on the sidewalk.
Brenda is having lunch with Mom. Mom has no interest in anything since her sons died. Brenda rather callously says but life goes on. Think of your future grandchild. Your father is totally wrapped up in work. I feel so alone. Brenda then discusses business. I think she says if Dad dies everything pertaining to the business would pass to his new partner, Beltran.
Elisa called Erika ( who is leaving Ana's place). Elisa is concerned if she doesn't get her shares back she won't be able to fund the charity school she is setting up that she has hired Erika to work at.
Ana asks Francisco, are you truly not mad at me? I'm not mad at you. She promises not to do it again. She can't believe she was so stupid. Francisco says, I was also ( the patio agrees). She says she just can't deal with the idea that maybe she killed her mother.
Paty is angling for a new car from Alfredo for her services. Maybe he can help her with the payments. He dismisses her pretty much ignoring her request.
Well maybe not. Gabriel tells Roberto his dad wants to withdraw a hefty sum of cash for personal reasons. He sends Roberto to get it from the bank. In 100 dollar bills.
Francisco feels Ana needs to go back to rehab for detox. She agrees. She feels she doesn't deserve his support but he disagrees.
Miguel tells Rafita the car belongs to Gabriel del Pinot. Miguel has figured out the connection. He's no dummy.
Oh wait, the money isn't for Paty. She overhears Gabriel telling Papa that Roberto will be back soon with the money ( for the assassin). A funeral is mentioned so she is aware the money isn't for her car.
Now Fern is telling Roberto she needs $20,000. He tells her Elisa asked him for a divorce. She says you are useless. You couldn't manage a woman as dumb as Elisa!
Brenda counsels her mother how to get her husband to take her advice about the business. Tell him if he can't see reason, ask him for a divorce. At least that way you will save half the business. Talk to him firmly and directly. Cry if you must.
Paty tells Fernanda what she overheard about paying an assassin. Fern wants her to discover all the details. Paty is afraid if she is discovered he will kill her. Now Paty is hitting Fern up for money to buy a car. She likes being a partner with Fern. In fact she helped by giving Alfredo Feliz de papa today….
Roberto gives Fern the money but he's worried he'll get in trouble. She says I'll take care of it ( cooking the books perhaps). She calls her other PI (is it Rafita, I don't think so, but he has a goatee so I'm not sure. This guy is bald). She says her daughter is now in Miami. He says it will cost a lot of money.
Fernanda brings the money to Miguel. After he receives it he says he doesn't exactly know where she is, but your employees, Erika and Fermin know where she is.
Dondi, your recaps are always immensely informative and also delightful, and this one was no exception. I love all the extra info you provide, including key scenes that were foolishly omitted. And I also enjoy your often playful comments, such as "Aslan the cowardly lion." Of course, though Aslan is reluctant to open the letter his father left for him, in other ways he seems to me quite brave, at times pitting himself against both his insufferable mother and his dead mafia don father. He admits "if Dad were alive now, seeing how I am trying to amend things, he would spit in my face!"
Wow, Ilyas kills people as casually as if he were swatting flies. Without any apparent warning, he takes out his gun and kills Lokman, and then he returns to his meal and takes some more chickpeas. I wonder whether Yusuf was like that as well.
Cihan remains an enigma to me. It's one thing to talk to his dead father in the cemetary, but quite another to lie down on his grave and then tearfully go to sleep.
Dondi, when Cihan says about bad movies, "You want to stop watching, but you stick around to the end," I loved your comment: "[that’s how I feel about some TNs and dizis.]" Me too!
When Hulya reassures Buket "You’re not going to tell anyone about this, okay? I’ll get passports, IDs, money. I’ll get you out of the country," all I could think was that this was exactly what Buket and Suat were promised. Sigh.
I wonder whether the fact that both Aslan and Leyla are shown to be skilled shooters will eventually prove relevant.
So did Ibo hire that woman to be a dominatrix with Tolga? How did Ibo know about Tolga's, um, propensities? And how does Ibo benefit from this (I'm sure he must have something in mind)?
In response to your closing question about who will get to Ati first, I hope and believe that Ilyas will do him in, because Ilyas has a strong motive, he seems to kill very easily, and he has invited Ati to have a meal at his house (and we've seen the white beens).
Kat in SC: Awesome job with the recap of Friday night's episode. My personal thoughts.
64.) Gabriel determined to exterminate ALL of the In-Laws including Nagging Brenda. Hell, maybe kill that bastard baby too.
65.) Jackass Alonso is still a JACKASS.
66.) Mirna & Eugenio have a secret past life back in the day ? Is Miguel really Eugenio's bastard son ?
67.) Ana the druggie OMG: Just KILL HER OFF ALREADY.
68.) Francisco needs to come clean & tell Elisa the truth because the more he keeps digging himself into a bigger & bigger hole, the more danger he's going to get.
69.) Claudia is a fucking BIG MOUTH ASSHOLE. I never liked her from the very beginning. Don't these dumb bimbos ever keep a secret ?
70.) Eugenio aligning with the Ferrero's ? What could possibly go wrong ?
71.) Slippery Robert still mooching with Crazy Goldie Locks.
72.) Goldie Locks versus Monica: Gut feeling Goldie Locks will concoct some sinister scheme with Slick Alonso to destroy Monica & Sebastian's relationship.
73.) Patty: You are putting a bigger target on your back.
74.) Erika & Fermin: Both of you better watch your backs.
