Previously, Paulina’s mask slipped a bit when she announced she wished to return to Seattle, without the children! Jason, perhaps beginning to see his wife’s feelings toward her children have been somewhat embellished, confronts her asking if she truly loves her children or is she lying? She denies it of course. That said, Paulina seemed truly upset when Lila told others she was an only child, and why.
Jason feels Emi would receive better medical care in the US and being well endowed financially, wishes to expedite his treatment. However, Tino’s insecurity about Emi leaving him bubbles to the surface.
Felipe informs Clara Luz (and viewerville) that Pipe never left Mexico!
Guzmán takes control of Maxiclick as Aidé is escorted from the premises by several “suits”. Her heartbreak doesn’t end there as newly appointed CEO Guzmán shows up at Aidé’s house claiming the home is not hers but is actually owned by the company…It becomes stunningly apparent that while Lichita is also in Guzmán’s sights, Aidé was the main target of his sick revenge all along. Guzmán
Flashback to Guzmán and Aidé years ago, she is telling him she is pregnant! His face falls a bit; she is happy. She has a plan…She takes his hand and he puts his over hers, calling her hermana. She waxes poetic about Tino for a second and the two friends hug as she leaves. His mask drops…
We then see another conversation between the two (some years later but not too recent judging by her hair); they are on the phone and he has a chocolate wrapped lollipop with a card with her name on it written in glitter as a child would create (the past repeating itself). He crumbles it as Aidé tells him something, not sure what…
Back to the present, Aidé orders Guzmán out of her house as the nasty lawyer stands by Guzmán’s side. He verbally fights back. Another quick flashback where I believe she accuses him of being vengeful and having a quest for power. Aide and Uli come down, Circe stares from one to another.
Fed is whispering poison in Tino’s ears. She thrusts the picture of Aidé and Dámaso in his face. Again. Then, in the next breath, she tells Tino she loves him! Nonplussed, he tells her they are friends; his heart is taken! She seems to take it well but viewerville knows better. We then see her torturing Emi; Tino comes in but he is too late to hear her forked tongue flapping. When she leaves, Tino looks vaguely upset about her revelation.
Guzmán wants them to git. Circe starts crying as Uli stands, his hand on his sister’s shoulders. Aidé and Guzmán fight, words and tone escalating. Guzmán leaves as she tells the children to be calm as she hugs them looking worried.
Paulina looks at pictures of Lila on her phone and (genuinely) seems to tear up. Jason comes up and talks about Emi; I get the impression she is more concerned about her daughter…
Diana
Guzmán is a traitor Circe cries, Uli in agreement. They bring up Tino but she says I am your mother, insisting she will handle things. Nevertheless, it is clear Aidé is clearly heartbroken and sits on the couch as the children come over and apologize. Aidé does not want to go to Tino even after Circe asks her to give him another chance. She puts her arms around them and closes her eyes in mental anguish.
Tino, Bertha, Emi and Lila have breakfast as Lila fawns over her mother; Bertha arches her brows a bit. Emi seems to look down a bit stricken (I feared he was getting ill again but he didn’t).
Rina and Aidé have an emotional conversation of sadness and support…Augusto interrupts Rina as Aidé thanks her for everything.
Checo tries to talk to Chofis as he carries adorable Chuchito in his arms. Chofis’ friend knocks on the window. They talk about what happened with her parents interrupting her time with Oliver…
Loathsome Igor holds several meaningless meetings. He flirts unrelentingly with Chano, throwing him a kiss at one, puckering his lips during another. Lichita alternates between staring and laughing.
Fed and Aidé talk but most of it escaped me; I know Facundo was mentioned.
The twins try to talk to Aidé about Tino. Scarlet comes in and Aidé hugs her children.
Checo tries to talk to his parents but they start fighting again as usual. They take a break from their bickering to sit with Chuchito who is also being ignored…
At #13 (Tino’s home) Rudolf and Tino are working, the screen reading “TYPOGRAPHY”. Rudolf is trying in vain to get Tino to pay attention to business but it’s in vain. Tino spills the tea that Fed told him she loves him. Stoopid Rudolf is highly impressed, telling him how good looking she is (nothing about trying to fix things with Aidé). Tino explains she is a friend only.
Diana
Next, Tino gets served with custody papers, courtesy of Paulina!!
Clara Luz texts Aidé, asking where she is, please let me know! She texts back Guzmán is a traitor and took the house. Maldita!
Guzmán and Fed exchange unpleasantries when Clara Luz shows up. It’s personal Fed mutters but Clara Luz plants her feet. After Fed leaves, Clara Luz says something that makes him angrily call security. She shakes the guards’ hands off her demanding to know where Pipe is!
Paulina shows up to talk with Tino. Naturally, he’s very upset and brings up her abandoning Emi. Does she threaten him with something? She says something about Emi being infirm. Please fill in if you can.
Circe and Uli talk; they come up with a plan…
Oliver shows up at Chofis’ window and after a few kisses, all seems well.
Lila watches Uli and Circe get in a car after school.
Paulina texts Lila but it flashed too briefly for me to read it. The gist of it seemed that Lila was angry at Tino.
Clara Luz tells Rudolf Pipe isn’t in Switzerland he is still there, somewhere in Mexico!
Igor kisses up to his bro saying what, I don’t know.
Fed and Tino are on the sidewalk as she consoles him saying something about a lawyer…She mentions love and then she inches forward kissing him on the mouth. In incredibly bad timing, we see Augusto has driven Aidé there! Aide looks heartbroken as tears gently fall down her cheeks.
I’ve become so desperate I’ve taken to translating the brief Comcast description of what is transpiring each episode. It hasn’t been much help 😊. I know I missed a few key conversations, kindly fill in if you can. I’m so appreciative for the collaborative effort you’ve put forth!
Diana
Luis tells O that Mar will learn to run the house little by Little and she doesn't need your "help". You are living here by her good heartedness so don't you forget it. He leaves for work. O asks Mar why didn't you let me know he was there. Mar points out nothing shuts you up. O says next time mouth algo or something so I know he's there.
As suspected, Val is in the same apartment building as Nick. They meet in the lobby and he is shocked and dismayed ( how will i forget her when she's now the girl next door). He doesn't understand how it came about so she fills him in.
O and Mar argue some more. In the end O says fine, do.what you want in your house, I won't offer anymore help.
Val arrives at the Empresa and knocks on Arturo's office.doir. he tells her to close her eyes and he gives her a potted plant with red flowers. She thanks him but notices she's not herself. She says Nick acted weird when he discovered we are now neighbors. Arturo says it's probably because he's still affected by our aunts death.
Leo complains to Luis about needing him to sign off on everything at work, but Luis sticks to his edict. He needs to know everything that is going on in the office. Fine, Leo says.
Paula's on the prowl stalking Mar in the garden. I'm worried about you. Are you having problems with your mom. Mar says she always tries to control my life. Paula says if you need help in being a good wife to Luis I can help you. Mar is happy for her advice
Susana and Cami are bonding. She asks about Cecilia. Cami says she loved to paint. Susana, my mother was a great embroiderer and shows her one of Mom's pieces. Cami misses mom and Tia so much. Susana tells her when she felt that way she prayed to them and they felt close. Cami will try that too
Paula's help is in the clothes department. Mar needs a more upscale wardrobe to suit the wife of such an important businessman. Their off to do some shopping. O of course appears and asks where are you going. Mar says shopping for some things and you aren't needed. Paula says why not, she can come to with a self satisfied smirk.
Leo talks with Arturo in his office. We need to work together better and support each other Leo says and Arturo agrees, along with Nick. Paula is a sticky subject with them though. Leo says she always wants what's best for him and is so supportive.
Nick is talking to Mom at the cemetery. He doesn't know what to do about his feelings for Val, and now they are neighbors too. He wishes she was there to give him a hug and advice. Give me a sign. Cami appears and says Nico... I guess that was her sign as the two siblings hug and talk about mom and life.
Guzman I think saved that chocolate heart with the card for Aide since high school. She's moving back and she has a new guy in her life, Facundo. They will be getting married ASAP.
For the kids sake Guzman gives them 24 hours to vacate the house. How big of him.
Igor is looking for the new manager so they are taking tests. 3 passed the test. Igor makes them clap like trained seals at his pronouncements.
I think the talk with Fede was to try to get her help in recuperating the house, maxiclik, etc. but Fede of course is not on her side, although she does care about the kids.
Checo is worried about the ch baby not talking yet. The school is concerned. The parents say Chofis was a late talker also and she is fine. They try to get the baby to repeat words but he just babbles.
Guzman admits Pipe never went to Switzerland. What's it to her, he is his guardian. Clara Luz quits. Guzman called security to escort her off the premises.
Paulina just wants Lila, not Emi. She also tells Tino about how Lila is telling people she is an only child. You concentrated so much love and concern on him she feels less loved. Tino threatens to tell Jason about how she abandoned the kids. At some point in the show Paula told Jason that Lila was of age to make her wishes known but she couldn't take Emi away from his father. Jason doesn't think it is right separating the kids though.
I forgot what the Igor Guzman conversation was about so it must not have been earth shattering.
Circe and Uli want to use Lila as intermediary to let Tino what is going on since they promised Mom not to contact Tino. They didn't talk to her yet. Uli's play is coming up. The twins think that mom and 'dad' will meet at that neutral venue and patch things up.
Fede is going to help Tino in the custody case.
At an upscale clothing store o is looking at dresses and Paula finds an elegant gown for Mar, who thinks it is way too expensive. Paula overrides her objections and tells her try it on. Have your mom try some on too. ( I guess she hopes if Mar runs up a large clothing bill Luis will get angry)
Cami and Nick have a nice lunch together. She tells him Juan took her out yesterday to distract her and it was a nice day. She is worried about Nick though. She doesn't like seeing him alone.
O is doing a fashion show for herself. Funny...
Val talks to Nick. He doesn't need her concern, we just need to finish this campaign.
Time to pay. Credit card. Mar has never used one before, and it's supposed to be for emergencies. Paula shows her the ropes and keeps the receipt.
Nick is giving Val the cold shoulder and she finally gets it and leaves.
Mar thinks they got too much and is worried. O says you are the wife of a million now. Enjoy it. Paula is on her phone. They get in the chauffeur driven SUV. Paula silently whistles at the receipt as she puts it in her purse.
Jacinto and Susana are getting ready for bed, thankfully in flannel type p.j.s. Susana is happy she is getting along with Cami and wants to help there marriage. Jacinto warns her not to get involved. They got married without dating or knowing each other. If the marriage fails Susana says who will Juan go running to, that daughter of Ofelia and I'll never allow that.
Val and Arturo are eating out. She talks about Nick putting this big wall between them. Nick tells her he's always been alloof like that, kinda like you. Distant, closed off. She admits she is.
O is admiring herself in a fire engine red dress. Mar comes in and mentions a text she got from Val. I think it's about her new digs.
Val and Arturo talk about his childhood. Then the fact that Nick went away to college is mentioned. Why didn't you go to Harvard. Arturo didn't make the cut, lol
Rocio is agonizing over the photos of Arturo and Nick. Gloria won't keep her away from them.
Paula is playing Leo. Mar begged me to go shopping with her yesterday because she admires my style. Mar went to the most expensive store and bought a bunch of stuff for herself and also O. And can you believe she used Luis credit card. Leo is furious ( so is Mar not allowed to use a credit card her husband gave her? ). Paula gives Leo the receipt.
Leo has sent Cami a text. He needs to see her right away. She wants Juan to take her. He suggests a taxi, but they never come to their barrio so he agrees to bring her.
O and Mar are back in the barrio. O wearing a not so flattering black and white number. She looked better in the other clothes she's been wearing. The gossips talk amongst themselves about the 2. Susana shoes up. O insults her clothes, dressing like she's raised the trash. They then throw insults back and forth.
Hector tells Luis Val is in the new apartment. They talk about work. His kids seem to be doing well. If it continues he'll slowly add back their privileges.
Mar and O find Val in the Casita. She tells them she no longer lives here, but in an apartment. They are happy for her.
Susana is venting to Jacinto about O. Cami and Juan come down the stairs and leave. Cami notices her dad's car. Mar must be here but she drags Juan off.
Leo is at the office conference room bitching to Nick and Arturo about Marcs spending spree. I'm not positive if Nick and Arturo are similarly upset.
Mar is taking a box of her things from the Casita. O wants nothing, well maybe these photos of you girls. Finally we are out of this horrid place she hugs them, Val tries to distance herself, but I drags her back into the hug.
Kat, thank you for another exceptional recap.
“O is admiring herself in a fire engine red dress”. She wore it well (the shoes were so pretty too). I have to admit I enjoyed every moment of Ofelia’s Pretty Woman solo tour. She whirled, twirled, loving every minute of her fashion foray. Who needs admirers when you love yourself more than anyone else possibly could?
“Paula silently whistles at the receipt as she puts it in her purse”. For Paula to react that way, it must have been an outrageous amount!!
Nick now won’t have a moment without being tormented by Val, night and day 24/7. She seems oblivious…
I think Paula has plans to rack up a few charges so that Luis will feel forced to call Mar to task for irresponsible spending. For Luis to hit the roof over a one-day shopping spree seems unlikely.
Diana
Kat, thank you for your wisdom and insight; your comments added so much.
“Guzman I think saved that chocolate heart with the card for Aide since high school”. I couldn’t believe what an amateurish job he did trying to recreate the gift but of course you are exactly right, he didn’t need to as he kept the original! I did understand Aide mentioned marriage during their conversation but couldn’t figure out the context. Facundo, how quickly you’ve been forgotten 😊
Loved “Igor makes them clap like trained seals at his pronouncements” which was perfect.
I hadn’t realized Chuchito wasn’t talking; here’s hoping he is a late bloomer.
Diana
Thank you, Kat, great work!
Oh, Nick, being in love with the girl next door who just so happens to be your Brother's gf? That's gotta be rough...
What next? Let the speculations begin!
Will Val forget her key one night and she has to sleep on his couch? Or Nick's shower will malfunction and he has to wash up at her place? We haven't seen him naked yet, am I right?
Some kitchen highjinks with a burning stove and some smoldering looks being exchanged?
Maybe something to do with her heat not working one night and Nick coming to fix it? Am i going into XXX teritory?
He surely felt torn about it, it's not a great place to be in. And Val was certainly taken aback by his lack of cheer at the news of the two of them being neighbors. She does seem mostly oblivious to his feelings and very much into Art. This is not the type of triangle I had envisioned. Will she ever look at Nick a different way?
In the meantime, in rich Portilla world Mar falls into Paula's trap.
I loved Ofelia enjoying the good life and feeling proud of herslef. But I don't think Luis will be as happy when he sees that bill.
I still don't get how Susana sees Camila as more than the spoiled brat that she is. Also, is anyone else suprised with what rich girl Camila is wearing at night?
Adriana Noel, "I still don't get how Susana sees Camila as more than the spoiled brat that she is". I can only think that Susana will remain eternally grateful that Camila got Juan out of jail and in effect, likely saved his life.
She hasn't really seen Camila in action, especially her cruelty toward Mar. Perhaps if she had, that would have bonded them even closer. Susana and Camila are the two most loathsome characters to me. I always choose kindness and these two shrews are the antithesis of what the word means.
I'll have to look more closely at Camila's night ware! :)
Diana
Adriana I loved all your speculations about how Nick and Val will potentially get together. It's nice the way the story is developing. The fight for the girl between rivals gets old and I'm glad Nick respects his brotherhood bond.
I didn't quite know if I got the argument about the credit card right at the office. Did Nick justify Mar's buying spree? Perhaps Luis should get upset that Mar is buying a rival fashion houses dresses if they are in the upscale market, but honestly they weren't holding that many bags. It looked like 1 or 2 outfits each and we know O also got shoes so there is a bag of its own. I don't see how Paula can go on a spree too since I believe Mar took back the credit card.
Thanks so much for your recap Diana, I enjoyed reading it. And thanks, Kat for added details. The only thing I can add is Tino talked to Fed about custody of his kids. She’ll be his lawyer. I wonder how hard she’ll try in this. Also, Paulina mentioned taking Lila but leaving Emi with Tino. Jadon was not for splitting the kids up.
Guzman is blaming Aide for being in love with Tino and then Facundo. But he never really told her his feelings. She did say she’d always love Tino when she was pregnant and I guess he took her word for it. So maybe her announcing her new love put him over the edge. But he sure spent a lot of years planning his revenge!
I don’t see how Tino won’t find out what Guzman did. The kids are planning to invite him to a show at school but I think he’ll find out sooner. I’m talking about him taking the house as he already knows she lost the business. Although I still wonder what Fed did with those papers. Will she end up owning it?
Liz
Thanks Kat, great recap. As soon as Paula invited Ofelia along I knew she had a devious plan. I think the brothers were upset about the credit card too. I love how Paula ends up lying about stuff, this time who wanted the shopping spree. It seems Luis would believe Mar, if Mar ever had a chance to find out what Paula did. It looked like Ofelia bought more than Mar, and got a bigger kick out of the shopping spree.
Rocio is determined to get her son and keep him all to herself. She was a little scary in that scene. It seemed like she said she took care of one, Graciela, and no one would stand in her way. I picture her kidnapping one of the brothers and holding him prisoner. I think if she wasn’t crazy before the death of Graciela put her over the edge.
I thought it was funny that Ofelia thought Val was going to move into the mansion when she told them she would be leaving their house. But she did seem pleased about Val having an apartment.
I did like the scene of Susana showing Camila her mother’s embroidery. I was afraid Camila would say something negative but she was actually complimentary. I wonder if Susana will ever see the Camila we see, and what she’ll think.
Liz
Thanks, Kat, for the great recap.
One comment: Since Luis seems to be losing patience with Ofelia, will he end up kicking her out of the mansion?
Liz, thank you for your kind words.
Your insightful comments were awesome as always: "Tino talked to Fed about custody of his kids. She’ll be his lawyer. I wonder how hard she’ll try in this" was great; I wonder too!
Liz, "Paulina mentioned taking Lila but leaving Emi with Tino" is crucial to the storyline; so very important! I so appreciate your noting this. I thought she said something to Jason about Emi that seemed to upset him but didn't understand. She seems to have misgivings about Lila but the maternal instincts toward Emi are absent if indeed they exist.
Completely agree in your assessment that "...maybe her announcing her new love put him over the edge". You are right in that Guzman never revealed his love but if he had, Aide cared about him as a friend but would likely have kindly rejected him. So the end result might have been the same.
Thanks to you and Kat for all you generously added. Now my "previously" notes for tonight will be accurate!! :)
Diana
Kat, wowee wow . a thanks so much for that snappy recap.. Things are heating up as evil Paula stirs the pot . That smirk of hers deserves a great big anvil squash.
As clever as O thinks she is , she didn't realize that w Paula was setting Mar up . Paula is as big a wheeler dealer as O. Just as O has Paula's number, Paula has hers. O was outsmarted by Paula.
O was in her glory . Her biggest mistake is that she just can't keep a low profile as she enjoys the lifestyles of the rich. She has to crow and pose and put on airs.
Diana, yes O is her biggest fan .. Ha.No lack of confidence there..
O seemed to buy much more than Mar, and Luis just told O to stop harassing Mar or she would be out of the mansion , so he might make her leave . I don't think Luis will mind Mar's purchases. .Maybe o will try to move in with Val...hahahaha.
I think that the writers are starting to redeem Cami. No..just no. Susan
Diana, thank you so much for the recap. Liz and Kat, thanks for the extras.
Gee, the good guys can not catch a break. Guzman , king of the vest, gets worse and worse . I am quite sure that we will find out eventually that he is the cause of Uli's terrifying nightmares. Can't wait to see the anvil that the writers have forged for him
And where is Pipe? At least, he is still in the country.
Meanwhile, Fed is gleeful as she moves in on Tino and continues to terrorize poor Emi. When is someone going to hear her threaten him? The family is living in much closer quarters , so someone ( Bertha? Tino?) Should hear her.
Of course, Aide arrives at Tino's just in time to see Fed kiss him . Loyal Augosto is a bright spot.
Igor is in his glory. He deserves an anvil, too. Susan
Susan, thank you so much.
"Guzman , king of the vest"... oh my yes! Great observation :)
Guzman is grusome isn't he? No heart. No soul.
It is frustrating that no one is ever around to hear Fed's abuse of Emi although Tino almost caught her. She really has him snowed.
"Igor is in his glory. He deserves an anvil, too". Amen to that...
I am hoping Tino and Aide will reconcile soon and fight together to slay their many dragons. I keep thinking of Susana and Fernando in Pasion; once they got together, that was it and they vanquished their enemies. Together.
Diana
Diana, you are right . Aide needs to let Tino know what is happening so that they can fight together against The Guz and Fed ..with Paulina thrown in there for more angst.
Yes, I recently rewatched Pasion , and the characters played by Susana and Fernando never gave up on each other . That's the way true love is . The two of you always support and protect each other ..always. Susan
Thanks Kat, for another fantastic recap! No time to comment until now.
The whole shopping spree thing makes no sense, in what world would/should Mar be expected to be held to the same expectations as the kids? Daddy took their privileges away to teach him how to respect him and take care of themselves, that message doesn't translate to the wife!! The fact that the boys would even be having the 'why can Mar go shopping when we can't' conversation just proves Luis's point unfortunately. I don't know whether or not it's okay for Mar to spend money, that's a conversation for them to work out in their marriage, about the whole structure in which this conversation takes place puts Mar in the position of another child instead of the position of a wife - and it's just weird and inappropriate. If it had been their mother every single one of those boys would have known there was no comparison and no argument to be made for 'Why does mom get her credit card when we don't get ours?' but they can't see that the question in equally crazy in this comparison!?! This discussion shines a light on the awkwardness of Luis and Mar's marriage - because it is so easy to see them in the father/daughter light and so hard to see them as husband and wife.
Nico was annoying in this episode... he's going to give Val the cold shoulder NOW? He supported the whole relationship between Val and Art, put them back together, even locked them in a room because they belong together and NOW, he just can't deal with being close to Val??? Please!!! Man up, dude! You got what you paid for.
For those of us that depended on Zap2it all of these years for reliable tv program listings, those days are gone. It seems that the site closed down 3/25. Wah!!!!
We start with a flashback to 8 years prior when aide bought the maxiclik office building. Fede and Guzman share in her enthusiasm (. Not really but they are both paying lip service). Guzman accused Fede of being jealous of her cousin and Fede in return taunts Guzman with the fact Aide never kept up with him in the years since highschool. Aide gets a call from her husband Facundo. The timing seems a bit off here, isn't Scarlet 8? It seems this should have been more like 9 years ago. Fede uses the Marrana parada term on him. Someone needs to explain this pig parade insult to me. Guzman in his thoughts says this is why my resentment just kept growing more and more
Tino and Augusto watch the kids . She says let's go. Tino breaks off the kids and says his heart is with Aide. Fede wants him to give her a chance and she will live in hope.
I guess Rudolph saw the name of the school on a piece of paper in Guzman's office but he can't remember. He's at Felipe's talking to Clara Luz. She's mad he can't remember. Felipe enters and tells him he can leave, he isn't necessary for the search.
Fede is still working on Tino. Aide's not here but I am. She's moved on with her yoga instructor. Tino doesn't are what she is doing, for him he needs to wait before moving on.
Augusto is playing devil's advocate for Tino but aide doesn't want to hear it. She's always handled her and her children's problems on her own. She asks him to take her to maxiclik.
Igor is telling the 3 finalists that Guzman will make the final decision on who will be the level manager. Chano and Luchita are in the running. Igor and the 3rd guy leave. Luchita tells Chano that she got an appointment for Chuchito with a speech therapist at a private clinic.
Rudolph yells at Felipe, who are you to tell me I can't look for Pipe, you don't even know him. Felipe says your just a frustrated musician who can't find time to look for him, nor for your has been music. Rudolph is going to continue his search. Clara says how can you do it by yourself. He says I'm not alone, I have Ana to help me. Felipe is upset with Clara luz about Rudolph, but I'm not sure why.
Rudolph has left and calls Ana who seems to have been avoiding his calls and messages lately. But she replays back with a Holi so I guess they are still good. Clara luz says I know Rudolph drops you off the turnip per the CC's which makes no sense to me, but maybe it is an euphemism like falling off a turnip truck or something, which also means little to me either. (Dumb as a doorknob perhaps? Or not the sharpest crayon in the box. .). At any rate so much for that burgeoning romance. They are both mad at each other. She accused him of meddling, then apologizes for speaking without thinking. They both apologize to each other for flying off the handle. He tells her he's bought her something, he sends her an address and name of where Silvana worked . He's out of there, call me when you want help searching again
Guzman has a press conference with employees
around him where he introduces himself as the new CEO. The trained seals cla on cue, led by Chano and Luchita..they all leave the conference room but Fede comes in and says something about his shenanigans. He gets a text from aide who is downstairs and mad that she is banned from entering. She has a deal to propose.
Bertha is putting in a plug for Fede to Tino to heal his broken heart. She adores Emi too. Tino says aide is permanently in his heart. Tino gets a text from Felipe who wants to see him.
Guzman tells Aide she can't threaten him. Hell turn around and say what a Terrible mother she is, buying lovers for herself. She says you stole my company. He fires back I bought it legally. You put the shares in your lovers name and he betrayed you and sold them to me. He talks about her bastard twins which earns him a slap in the face. She then offers to rent the house. UPS too late. You now have one hour to vacate the house. Also their is a lien on all your possessions and they are being packed up now. You better get back to your no longer home.
Aide rushes home. The kids and Reina are there freaking out.. A lawyer hands her the repo notice signed by a judge .
Felipe meets with Tino to talk business. Felipe wants it up and running pronto, buy a building for offices. Tino I on board. I think maybe Felipe said he's leaving, but I'm not sure.
Aide reads the judges order and says it's in order, but she never received prior notice. She begs as a mother for a few hours to pack the personal stuff up. Someone can watch them pack. The packing crew agrees and they leave. Aide tells the kids to pack their favorite clothes. Scarlet can pack some of her toys, and Ponzi of course. Aide is going to reserve a hotel for a few days. The important thing is they are all together. Damaso shows up. Tino calls and she ignores it.
The kids are packing. Scarlet wants to call dad for help. The twins think they need Tino. Aide overhears and says they don't need anyone but her ( who isn't doing that great a job if I say so myself). The kids hug her though and say they love her.
Facundo is thrilled with Guzman's actions against aide. It's the best news in the world, partner. Fede comes in. Facundo cel rates with her but then she mentions Scarlett. His face falls.
I guess Danselo is driving them to wherever they are going as the cars have been repo'd. Athe kids. hugs Reina goodbye. Aide gives the 3 servants some severance pay, though they want her to keep it. She says it was savings for a rainy day and less than they deserve, but keep it. Reina and Augusto speak about how much they have felt a part of the family, Augusto going so far as to say the kids have been like his grandchildren, which earns him a hug from the kids.
Aide tells the kids as they are leaving, these walls and roof are no longer ours but we won't lose what is in our hearts
Guzman is spinning some yarn to Luchita about aide and that it's Tino that made her lose the business. Luchita is rather dim so she is probably buying his BS. And he wants to recommence his tutoring of Chofis. Luchita says he's got too much to do. He says he promised her so ...
Tino and Fede are eating at his place. He says aide won't answer his calls or texts. Fede bashes her again. He says she is a character. Fede is sad he doesn't see her defects.. someone knocks its Rudolph. Fede leaves.
Augusto asks aide what her economic situation is. Mak. She has enough money for a few days. The kids school is paid up it seems. Augusto offers his help if she needs it.
Clara luz is at Luchita's asking if she can still rent a room with her. Looks like it's Checo's room. Clara is on a job hunt also. She starts dusting the room, removes a painting and discovers a hole in the wall.
The twins still want to call Tino. Aide still refuses. Gina sends Uli info about the play on Saturday. They want to forward it to Tino but they have no data. They think they'll use the hotel wifi but I guess they have been blocked somehow. Perhaps the phones are company owned also.
Emi and Tino talk about Jason. Lila, mama, etc.. He is hurting in his stomach where the tumor is, but doesn't want to go to the hospital.
Lila and Paulina text. Lila is worried about the twins. Paulina says Tino is a fraud. I don't quite understand all the chat and I'm getting sleepy so I don't want to figure it out tonight, lol.
Ana and Rudolph meet. She felt bad because was her idea about the sex in Guzman's office that made him lose his job. He says something to her then has a flashback to one of his concerts that Silvana attended . She introduced him to Ana then. Ana and he kiss in the present, but then his mind puts Clara Luz in his arms rather than Ana
Jenny and Chofis are planning something.
Augusto brings Bertha a white rose. He mentions Aide, but Bertha is still mad at her. He says don't be so hard on her. She's lost her business and her house. Bertha is shocked.
Lila meets with Paulina. Paulina is concerned because Lila walked the streets alone. Jason asks why aren't you in school. Lila says she's play hooky to see mana. Jason is taking her to school.
Clara luz is at a fertility clinic. It's the address Felipe gave her, ( though now he is a oiding her calls and texts, seems to be the theme in this show,)She asks about Silvana. I think it is the clinic Silvana took her to in the first episode. At any rate the receptionist tells her Silvana was the director of the clinic but was killed in an accident a few months ago.
Rudolph and Tino are talking business. Bertha comes in and gives the shocking news about Aide.
Aide is at the bank. Things are very glum. No credit cards, no money no loan approval. She gets a call and answers.
It was Facundo. He is concerned for Scarlett. That's why you cancelled your last few visitations with herr aide fires back. He has a proposal for her...the end.
I was a bit lost on some of this tonight...perhaps future episodes will clear up my questions.
Kat, your recap was replete with laser like insight and clarity. You did a fabulous job on a(nother) very frustrating episode which widened the growing chasm between Aide and Tino.
My favorites included “At any rate so much for that burgeoning romance” and “The trained seals clap on cue”.
Your translations were masterful; I was lost throughout. I watched the later airing too hoping a second viewing might help. Nopis. Needless to say, I cannot hazard a guess as to “what Marrana parada” might mean. 😊
Guzman wanted to strip Aide of all of her possessions, along with her dignity. Check. Check. Aide not being prepared for a rainy day surprised me. She only had enough money to last a few days? She had no savings, nothing to fall back on? “No credit cards, no money no loan approval”. Guzman savaged her credit in record time.
Poor Emi in pain again! So sad…
Paulina trying to poison her daughter’s mind against Tino was hard to watch.
I didn’t understand Felipe’s annoyance with Clara Luz either. He didn’t seem jealous (loser) Rudolf was there, he just seemed annoyed. Ghosting her makes no sense.
Thank you for doing tonight’s episode and doing it exceptionally well.
Diana
Part 1/3
Val and Ofelia don't remember the life they used to have in the same way. Ofelia puts a stop to the quarrel saying it doesn't matter anymore, everything is in the past now. She made it, she managed to give them the life she always dreamed of.
Mar is about to leave the vecindad when Juan stops by. Ofelia pushes him away, he leaves without saying a word. Ofelia talks badly to the vecinas, saying she's happy she will never see them again. All this boasting is in very bad form, and with everything happening right now I have a feeling Ofelia will be sorry for what she's saying very soon.
Juan has been witnessing everything from afar, Jacinto realizes he's sad. But Mar is forever lost, he needs to deal with it. Also, all marriages are not for life, why suffer if he and Camila are not made for one another? Juan says that's not true, they are in love. Mar is gone, Camila is his wife now.
Camila sees the receipt and gets furious. Nick and Arturo try to keep her in check, but Leo is going full steam ahead. Camila whines about the hard life she has to live while those women waste their money.
She goes to complain to Luis that Mar is spending a lot of money while she is living in misery. Leo shows Luis the receipt, he is reluctant to believe Mar would spend as much. Camila keeps screaming, dad has forgotten about mom, all he cares about now is this gold-digger. Nick tries to calm her, but Leo adds fuel to the fire. Luis is suprised Mar would do such a thing, when he finds out Paula gave Leo the receipt he starts to suspect she had something to do with it. Leo defends his wife and Arturo asks why would he allow Mar to spend all this money.
Luis says they are the most important people in his life, but he can't solve everything for them. Art understands this is his money, but not even their mother spent that much. Nick adds that if he wants to be with Mar forever, he needs to explain to her that she can't waste money like this. Leo demands that he accept that he has been wrong about them. Luis is very troubled, he has to admit that he can't justify Mar's actions.
Alone in the casita, Val speaks to her father. Ffw… She eventually leaves. Moving day on those very high heels and with a mini-skirt is really not a sensible choice. Will she drag that big box she's carrying to the bus?
Rocio comes by the house to search for "Gloria". The maid tells her Gloria no longer lives at the mansion, long story short, Rocio realizes that Ofelia has been lying about her identity.
Back at the mansion Ofelia is looking at the portrait of the family that Cecilia had painted. Paula arrives to say as long as that painting is hanging on the wall she and her daughters are not part of the family. Alone Ofelia says she'll see how she handles this.
Luis arrives and tells Ofelia he needs to speak to Mar. She mentions how much she likes the painting. Yeah, his late wife did it, but Mar must feel uncomfortable looking at it every day. Luis makes it clear that painting will never change places, not even Mar can protest to this. Ofelia realizes she made a mistake, while Paula witnesses the talk.
Alone Art and Nick are suprised Mar would spend that much money, not even Camila did this.
Art is thinking about Val, because she is related to Ofelia and Mar. What if she turns out to be the same? Nick is surprised his brother is still doubting. Art is upset because Val's family is always causing problems for the two of them. Nick says he either stands by her or not, no matter what. Art asks if he believes her and Nick replies it's none of his business. Art senses that Nick is evading an honest answer, just like he always does when they talk about Val. What is he hiding? Oh uh oh…
Nick says he's uncomfortable talking about their personal stuff. And Art shouldn't be influenced by what happens with Mar and Ofelia, they both know Val is not the same.
Part 2/3
Mar is in her room, speaking to her baby. Luis wants to talk about the amount of money she spent. She apologizes, she only wanted to have new stuff to be worthy of him. His kids always offend her, she wanted to be better. And she also bought some things for her mother. Luis asks if it was her idea, and Mar says no, she only went with her. Luis explains this caused a huge conflict with his kids. Mar apologizes, he's surprised she'd do this. Mar says Paula convinced her because she wanted to be prettier. She wants to return the stuff, but Luis says there is no need. He asks her to be careful with Paula and to never do this again.
Later Ofelia comes strolling to the room and Mar tells her Luis is very upset. Ofelia reminds Mar that Paula took them shopping. Mar says they will never do this again, as Ofelia explains that rich wifes do this, it's almost like a job. She is totally unconcerned.
The Portilla siblings are eating together, still complaining about Luis and Mar's influence on him. Camila is even worried for Art dating Val. Ugh… Leo tells Camila she needs to come back home, but she'd rather be with Juan than live under the same roof as Mar. She gets upset and leaves. Art offers to take her home.
Mar tells Paula that Luis got upset over spending so much money. Paula suggests Camila must have told him something. Or the maids saw her arrive with the bags… How else could he know? Mar remembers Juan saw her, so maybe so did Camila? Paula tries to comfort her, Luis won't be mad forever. Mar is worried for his health, Paula thinks he should start taking something to calm his nerves.
Camila arrives home, complaining to Juan about the money Mar and Ofelia spent. While she has nothing! She hates Mar!Juan says Mar is not like that, but Camila keeps going about how awful Mar is. Juan asks her to stop already. Camila storms out.
Juan follows her outside, as she points out all the things she hates about her new life: the street, the house, the people (where is Susana to hear her now?). And she hates Mar above all else. Juan asks her to stop, he knows she has a good heart (really?). She calms down and apologizes.
Nick arrives home and runs into Val in the lobby of their apartment building. She's still carrying her big box while wearing heels. She asks him why won't he talk to her, he prétends everything is fine. She says they will see one another wheather he likes it or not, so he better change his attitude.
She turns to go put her box into storage, but as she picks it up the box breaks and its heavy content drops on her feet. Val immediately starts to cry, she is in very much pain apparently (to much if you ask me, she reminds me of one of Camila's tantrums).
Nick runs to help her, but she doesn't need him, now she is the one pouting. He insists, since she's on the floor and can barely move. He offers to take her to his apartment, she surely has nothing at her place for now. She can't even walk, so he has to carry her upstair.
So this is what I was talking about the other day - living together will definitely cause all kind of situations, but for now Val is such a screaming mess, she doesn't even realize she should find the situation hot and sexy. She is definitely oblivious to him.
Paula tells Lupita, one of the maids, that she needs her help. She gives her some money and…
Part 3/3
In his apartment, Nick has already taken care of her box and now he is tending to Val. He gives a médicine against the pain and then puts some cream on her hurt foot. She is laying on his couch, still whining about the pain, not realizing the funny way Nick is looking at her or that this is supposed to be a sexy moment.
Nick is another story, though, he stops himself from putting any more of that lotion on her foot and tells her she's welcome to stay as long as she needs to. He just leaves, with Val looking in disbelief, calling him odd.
He goes to his room, and straight to teh balcony, in need of some air. Val follows him. She knocks on his locked door, says she feels better and is now leaving. Get some rest, he says and she leaves.
Susana and Jacinto are in their room and listening to Camila and Juan fight. He doesn't like it, that's not normal or healthy. Susana says they are different, but Jacinto only wants Juan to be happy.
Mar and Luis talk about what happened, she hopes he won't be upset for long. Luis tells her she needs to put a stop to her mother, she always wants to control everything. And she will keep going, especially after the baby arrives. Ofelia needs to learn to respect her and her décisions.
The next day Val is in her new apartment, but her fridge is empty. Art calls her, he surpises her with flowers and breakfast. Cute.
At the mansion the big family portrait is gone and Paula prétends not to know what happened. Mar asks Ofelia about it, she says she doesn't know either.
But the maids are talking about it as if it were a given that Ofelia removed the potrait.
Mar is also certain Ofelia took it, Ofelia promises it was not her, it could have only been Luis. Mar is certian Luis would never do that. Ofelia says she is the wife now, Luis is finaly giving her the place she deserves. And it's all thanks to her, she talked to Luis about removing that painting. It's Mar's time to shine now.
Luis comes down and sees the painting is missing. He immediately assumes Ofelia took it down.
He gets very mad, Ofelia tries to say she didn't do anything about it, but he's had it with her, so he won't listen. Lupita arrives with two workers and a big portrait that was apparently ordered by Senora Ofelia Garcia.
Ofelia tries to explain it was not her, but Luis asks her to get out of his house. Now!
Very good recap. Great accompaniment to my morning coffee! Thanks Adriana. BTW, I love seeing your French coming through here and there: décisions. I just might learn a little more than the very little I know! ; )
"Val's sprained ankle/foot and Nico" event was a big yawn although they did a good job with the makeup on her foot.
Sorry but Luis' children have NO business being concerned about Mar spending money. If they had shown some concern for Luis apart from his money, it would be a different situation but they haven't. It is always about the $$$.
Alas! but Mar has not smartened up. So sad, too bad. I can see her not trusting her mother's opinion but LUIS told her NOT to trust Paula, when they were discussing the shopping spree, and then she ran right to her.
I didn't like Paula touting the benefits of natural remedies to Mar to calm Luis down especially when she has shown how much she trusts Paula.
Pretty bad when even Rocío realizes that Ofelia is a liar Sort of like foreshadowing to Ofelia getting kicked out. Ofelia's luck was running out and she didn't even know it being so wrapped up in "being Ofelia."
Ofelia had been pressing her luck with Luis but I could not believe that she would dare to make an issue of the family portrait painted by his dead wife. Paula set her up perfectly and the crafty but crass Ofelia never saw it coming. I will be happy to see Mar get some peace from her mother's constant monitoring and criticism but now Paula has nobody stopping her agenda.
Adriana Noel, thank you for your marvelous recap; your detailing was woven beautifully!
The only two characters I truly liked were Mar and Luis.
After last night, it’s down to one – Mar.
I could hardly believe the four ungrateful, outraged, jealous siblings marching to their father’s office, complaining that his new wife had the audacity to rack up charges for clothes. “Leo demands that he accept that he has been wrong about them”. What? “Luis is very troubled, he has to admit that he can't justify Mar's actions”. Huh? Rather than running them out of his office which Luis should have immediately done, he tries to appease each of them, in vain. Even Nick, the last to leave looked at his father with a stone cold, disappointed expression.
But to have Luis go home and confront Mar, shaking with anger, waving that sales slip as though she’d stolen every cent he had was absurd.
I agree that Ofelia’s cavalier send off to her neighbors is going to come back and bite her. Actually, her banishing shows it already has!
Ofelia should have known far better than to talk to Luis about the portrait, couching it in saying Mar needs to have her place. She knew she made a mistake as soon as he glared at her. The “missing” portrait has been a plotline in at least one or two previous novelas. Paula saw her chance and leapt after it.
Val and Nick (yawn). Camila’s incessant whining and screaming has gotten on my last nerve. Go away. Please.
Diana
The bottom falling out of the box containing a magazine and some nicknacks was over the top. I'm always shocked to see what was salvaged from the fire and Val would have been better served washing the windows before painting and sweeping the Casita.Nothing was heavy enough to hurt her that badly. She can't walk so Nick has to carry her. She hobbles down the hall to tell him bye and the next day she's up in her heels again walking perfectly fine.
So where did the maid stash the family portrait. I actually expected them to find it in O's room.
How high was that actual credit card charge? Another over the top reaction to Mar spending Luis' money. I'd like to see Paula bills. She's always wearing over the top gowns like the green velvet number in the last scene.
Not much comedic relief in this episode. Arturo with his on again off again trust in Val is getting old.
Jarifa, our comments crossed.
"Paula set her up perfectly and the crafty but crass Ofelia never saw it coming" is exactly right as was your observation Mar is now at Paula's mercy. Who has none.
Diana
Diana, yes, our comments did cross. I also was disappointed in Luis confronting Mar about the purchases. Thanks for filling me in on "the missing portrait plot line" being nothing new.
Kat, yes, Arturo turns into more of a pain with each episode if that's possible. Truth be told, they have made Val way too problematic for me to have any sympathy for her either. I would hate to see anyone burdened with her in the end.
Complaint: Yes, another: the actors playing Art and Nico are way too old to be involved in these Val shenanigans. They should have cast much younger actors. Maybe then their actions/romance wouldn't seem so stupid and annoying.
Jarifa, from the get go I've complained about the son's age. The story should have had them in their 30's, and it could easily have been accomplished by having Cecilia and Luis' marriage be 35 years rather than 25. Cami as an oopsie baby 10 years later would have been good too. Val and Mar are not that much different in age going by the family photo Val keeps mooning over. The height difference appears to be only a couple of years different. Val does not look 22, imo. She appears to be a 30 something also.
I'm watching Amor Amargo on daytime TV. It's my first time seeing Arturo Peniche. I don't feel like I've missed much, lol. He and his son Brandon (Arturo in this show) definitely have the same nose. 3 shows in a row I've seen him in and this is the least suitable role he's had.
Kat, unfortunately telenovelas don’t ever seem to get it that miscasting age is usually not successful and is a continual distraction. I have never been a Peniche fan father or son; just not my type for the roles they are cast in.
Thanks Kat, an excellent recap. I was lost in a lot of the conversations. I goggled, well, google translate, the words, which now I can’t find to write here. It translated as standing pig, which doesn’t make any sense to me.
Facundo must not be too bright. He’s thrilled with Aide’s downfall until Fed mentioned Scarlet, then he realizes his daughter will be affected. And wasn’t he trying to get alimony from Aide, or did he stop when he found out he has shares.
I may be way off, but I don’t see Guzman paying a school room and board for Pipe. I think he’s in an orphanage. But Rudolf saw a name of a school so I guess my theory is wrong.
Fed did the paperwork when Tino turned over the shares to Guzman. Is he ever going to suspect Fed of being in on this takeover?
Liz
Thanks Adriana, that was a great recap. The episode was maddening and made no sense. Camila once came home with tons of bags, if I’m remembering correctly. And she had all those watches. But Mar is his wife, not his child. His children definitely seem to be all about his money.
Paula and her silly smirk is getting old. But Ofelia was a fool in this episode. Both in the way she treated her former neighbors and the way she talked to Luis about the picture. Also telling Mar that the job of rich woman is to shop. She had no remorse over spending too much of Luis’s money. When she was so awful to her former neighbors I figured she’d be living there soon. Although I wonder if she’ll try to live with Val.
Mar’s mother and Luis have both warned her against Paula and she still believes Paula. I’m worried about this herbal thing Paula is talking to her about. I think Paula would love to have Luis out of the picture.
Liz
"I may be way off, but I don’t see Guzman paying a school room and board for Pipe" sounds exactly right Liz. It wouldn't strain any credulity to imagine him dumping Pipe at an orphanage.
Clara Luz, Rudolf and Felipe needs to put their petty differences aside and unite to find him. NOW.
Diana
Kat, great point that the name of the institution might not ID exactly what it is. You might well be right in that one or both might be Pipe's parent.
Yes, then there IS the matter of Silvana's money..
Diana
Thank you, Adriana, your recap is fantastic and snappy as always! I haven't watched yet! I'm way too tired to watch today, and actually too tired to comment too but I wanted to stop at least long enough to say thanks for the recap! It's been a long week already and it's only Weds! Luckily tomorrow is my Friday, so I only have to make it through one more day and then I can enjoy a three-day weekend!
Previously: House and worldly goods repossessed, Aidé has no savings, no resources, nothing but what is in her wallet.
Tino FINALLY learns (from Bertha) that Aide has lost everything. Tino tells Fed that his heart still belongs to Aidé. Sadly, persistent and consistent Fed seems undeterred.
Felipe and Rudolf fight; after, inexplicably, Felipe ghosts Clara Luz. Rudolf runs to Ana (imagining Clara Luz after they kiss); Clara Luz learns deceased Silvana was the Director of the Fertility Clinic…
Facundo rejoiced upon learning Aidé’s situation. Yet at the last minute, he seems to have some sort of deal for her. Can she trust him as far as she can throw him?
As we begin, Aidé scathingly gives Facundo an earful including the fact he’s missed visits with Scarlet. She also throws up Ponce in his face. What are your conditions she asks? Only one he answers. He proposes that he will help her but only if she puts on a front, pretending to be the perfect family in front of the world, including the social networks.
Tino, Rudolf and Bertha meet. Rudolf has to calm Tino down about the children, Bertha agreeing. On cue, Lila arrives with Jason and Paulina. Tino’s face mirror his feelings.
Clara Luz pumps the administrator about Silvana’s rise as the medical director. Clara Luz flashes back to a conversation she had with Silvana long ago; perhaps asking Clara Luz to freeze/donate her eggs. She later follows up at another hospital/clinic I believe trying to find out about her frozen eggs. If she received an answer, kindly clarify…
Aidé answers Facundo that he betrayed her with Fed (among other things). They continue accusations back and forth; he claims he is doing this all for Scarlet; Aidé knows him better. The upshot of it is that Aidé isn’t playing.
Guzmán announces that Lichita has won the position (I think).
Jason tries to make excuses while Lila argues with Tino. Jason stands up for Tino. Tino tells Lila he is in charge in their house. Lila gives attitude and stalks off. Paulina tells Bertha she will take care of it. She tries to reason with Lila who keeps bringing up Emi. Family relationships aren’t perfect she tells her daughter (you oughta know I sneer).
Diana
Clara Luz and Felipe meet. Initially Felipe is quite cold. Clara Luz starts stumbling over her words, her leg jiggling out of control. I can’t relate what she tell him but ends up apologizing. “Mi amor” he says gently taking her hand.
Oh no, Chofis is back in Guzmán’s office. Lichita takes her leave. He sits right down and she calls “Tio Guzmán” her friend. They do a handshake and she kisses their intertwined hand which he does after as well (blech). What a creep. Later, he takes the opportunity to sit inches away from her, asking about her novio. He turns her chair around and she foolishly seems to confide too much information which he files away for later.
Leaving school, Emi gets a full committee greeting: Tino, Jason and Paulina. Wearing a blue “Be Epic” shirt Emi smiles brightly. Paulina does move forward and holds his hand but she doesn’t seem thrilled.
Uli and Circe meet up with Scarlet and Aidé. The desk manager seems to indicate there is a problem with money for them to continue their stay. As Aidé goes to call Augusto, Facundo shows up. With a look at Aidé ,Facundo offers to help.
Fed and Chano stroll the halls of Maxiclick. He brings up Checo and Fed seems to offer some assistance.
Tino and Emi are with Paulina and Jason at a small amusement park, Paulina wearing a tight smile. The men walk off as Paulina sits on a bench holding Tino’s hand. Emi seems to tell her how happy he is to see her. She makes an almost imperceptible face before responding enthusiastically to her son as Jason looks on smilingly. Tino puts Emi in a bumper car as Emi flashes back to one of Fed’s threats. Paulina gets in the car with Emi. I believe he asks her if he can tell her a secret. Before the ride commences, does he try to tell her and she brushes him off?
Augusto tells Bertha he wants to respect Aidé’s wishes. He then moves close to Bertha ready to move in for a kiss when Lila shows up saying hello loudly and with a smile, as the two break apart.
The reunited family is now at Facundo’s. Shocker? Nopis. Facundo immediately gets on social media bragging his family is back with him. Aidé is fit to be tied. Circe isn’t happy but Aidé hugs them, not happy herself. Facundo mentions a restaurant, no one answers. He brings up them being a happy family as Aidé and Circe make matching sneers.
(Aidé’s) house is divine Igor tells Guzmán. He gives him the keys.
In an office where gold records adorn the walls, Rudolf and his agent (?) talk. He and Ana end up arguing and she hops off. Adios…
Diana
We next see Oliver leading a blindfolded Chofis through a doorway. He removes her blindfold to reveal a small, dark bedroom with a bed. Chofis stares, not impressed as he starts playing music.
Oh no, Checo comes in to say good night to his sister, but her friend is in Chofis’ bed. He stares at the floor and sees the sneakers, which aren’t hers.
Oliver starts kissing Chofis but it is obvious she is having second thoughts. She pushes him away gets up and leaves.
Tino and family are having dinner. Something is said about the next day and showing up to support Uli…After they leave, Tino and Bertha talk about Paulina.
Aidé and Circe talk as Aidé texts away. They set off.
Rudolf is boarding a bus as he calls Clara Luz. He says something and Clara says “que” seemingly in shock. Can anyone provide what he said, it seems important.
Tino shows up at Uli’s school. He and Aidé barely have time to greet each other when Dámaso arrives, followed by Fed who grabs Tino’s arm in a very proprietary manner. Tino and Aidé exchange looks.
I tried to fill in what I thought I understood but there were many instances where I didn’t want to guess so left my explanations purposely vague. Again, thank you for all your wise comments and for filling in.
Diana
Clara luz is not in the system which means her eggs were likely disposed of. Silvana was in charge of all the procedures. I bet she claimed they were her own eggs.
Clara luz apologized a thousand times over for how she treated Felipe.
Chano offered Checo to Fede as an applicant for some higher position in the company. She says get me his application/resume?
Paulina implied to Emi that he is making up stories. He did tell her about Fede and the microphone on his wheelchair. She says you can't tell stories like that or people will say you are sick in mind as well as body. Too bad he didn't get in the car with Tino so he would have been believed.
Igor would love to live in the mansion. Guzman wants it put on the market and sold ASAP.
Poor Rudolph. He's an old had been and Briolzas, or whatever the producers name is, just wants him for his signature song at the end of the music event. Rudolph dies t want to be a 30 something has been in the show. Ana has been his groupy because she has a crush for the past 6 years. Now she's had him I think she wasn't impressed
Poor Chofis. She was imagining a flower strewn bed, a view of the stars, romantic music. Oliver provides a dark, dank hotel, plays reggae music on his phone to set the mood and on top of that, he has no condoms. Smart Chofis beats a hasty retreat.
Tino tells the family Uli invited them all to his play. The kids don't want to go so Tino isn't going to make them go.
Rudolph is on a bus going to the school where he thinks he will find Pipe.
Diana you did an excellent job. I felt this episode was a bit easier for me to understand, but probably just because I wasn't the recapper so I didn't have to try to get it all correct. It is way easier commenting this way for me and by getting to it as soon as you post ( you are always so prompt I'm envious of your speed) it should flow well for the others reading it. Now off to catch up on las hijas.....
Kat, thank you for your lovely comment.
Once again you've illuminated all the highlights and lowlights perfectly. I'm so very appreciative of your generous time.
Clara Luz not being in the system makes sense; I'm sure you are spot on in that Silvana took Clara's eggs!
Oliver is a cute kid but has no game. Cheering Chofis leaving that dank, depressing little room as fast as she could!
This was so pivotal: "She says you can't tell stories like that or people will say you are sick in mind as well as body". We knew Paulina is unfit; this is proof positive. The poor child finally mustered the courage to tell someone, and for her to reply thusly is heartbreaking.
Ahhh, no wonder why Clara Luz was smiling - Rudolf is en route to try and find Pipe!
Thank you for putting everything into such sharp, clear focus. Your format, commenting on each part makes for such a smooth flow...
Diana
Part 1/2
I'm going to keep this short, busy day ahead.
Luis throws Ofelia out of the house! Paula and Leo put in their two cents, no matter how much Ofelia tries to say she is innocent and she has no clue where Cecilia's painting is, either.
"Largo!" Luis screams "Get out of my sight!"
Ofelia starts gathering her stuff, even as she says to herself that she won't leave. Mar will help her stay. (And I only now notice that she no longer sleeeps in the servants room).
Mar assures Luis she didn't know anything about this. He is certain Ofelia is behind the portrait being gone, because she mentioned it to him just the other day. Mar wants him to calm down, think about his health. Luis reminds her the advice he's given her about her mother. Then he asks Lupita about the painting and the maid confirms that she saw Ofelia take it. That money that Paula gave her is being put to great use.
Leo is also furious, wants to get the painting back. Paula continues to play him like a fiddle, she will help him find it. Promise!
Val and Art talk about the latest crisis at the Portilla house. He's reluctant to mention it at first, but then he tells Val about the shopping drama. She's shocked, Mar would never! It has to be a misunderstanding. Art explains that he saw the receipt and it came from a fancy clothes store. Val believes that Ofelia is behind it.
Art would like to change the subject, they need to separate their relationship from all this drama.
When they're done with breakfast Art promises nothing will come between them them once this crisis is over. Famous last words.
Val insists Mar is a good person, Art promises to make an effort and get close to her.
Then he gets a bit handsy, Val says they need to get to work. He insists for a bit, but there is a definite "no go" and Val feels rather uncomfortable, also. No second base for Art today, at least Nick got some toes action the other night.
Down in the lobby, they are making-out when Nick arrives and sees them. He gets the sads, but prétends to be happy to see them. Art suggests they carpool, but Nick has stuff to do first. Yeah, is it time to visit Cecilia's grave again?
Camila and Juan talk about their latest fight. They want to stop the conflicts between them, Camila promises never to mention the Garcias again. Juan promises the same. They seal their deal with a kiss.
Later Camila forgets about it all, because she whines to Susana about Mar spending all of her family's money. Susana advices her to focus on her own life, she can have her own family. Juan is a good guy, the two of them could be happy together. How about a baby, huh?
Ofelia is coming down the stairs, as slow as she possibly can. She meets Mar, Luis, Leo and Paula on the ground-floor. Ofelia asks Mar to speak up, does she really want her to leave? Mar caresses her cheek and whispers in her ear "With or without you, I'm Mar Portilla". Auch, that was harsh! Then moves farther away and says "See you soon".
Ofelia has no other choice but leave, but she's milking it for all it's worth. The crying, the looking back, the hope that Mar will stop her before she gets to far away.
Someone does come for her, it's Lupita with the bag that Ofelia had left behind - Mar is sending it to her.
Ofelia is shocked that her daughter would throw her out of the place that she's struggled so much to get her into. Now she's all alone.
She finally leaves and I can't feel sorry for her because she definitely had it coming.
Part 2/2
Inside the house Luis asks for the entire staff to search for Cecilia's painting. Then he scolds Mar for not putting a limit to her mother. Paula prétends to take her defense, Leo looks shocked. The maids are happy Ofelia is gone and seeing how she's treated them in the past, I can't blame them.
Paula tells Mar Ofelia really went to far this time, but Luis spoke badly to her, also. She will try to find the painting.
Val and Art arrive at the office. Then she runs into Nick and thanks him for taking care of her the other night. She will always be there for him also. It's always nice to have someone around to help you, right? He brushes her off, he has to go to work.
Ofelia is back in the vecindad and the vecinas rightfully laugh at her. She meets Susana, who actually tells her something Worth mentioning - she used to have it all, but she lost everything. She had her daughters, but she managed to push them away. What could she have done to be thrown out of the house? And just the other day she was walking around the neighborhood, playing the grand dame. I don't like Susana, but I kind of liked her for a bit in this scene.
Paula calls Camila with the news about the portrait and Ofelia being gone. But Mar is still in the house. Camila can't even! Mar will never leave!
At the office Hector tells Luis Val has gotten her new apartment. Luis is happy, but he wants the contract of the Garcias casita. He wants to make sure Ofelia will no longer be part of their lives.
Paula goes to the gallery where she hid Cecilia's portrait, the same place that the other portrait came from. She starts ripping it apart, really letting out how much she despises every one of the Portillas. Leo included, because he's just so useless.
Then she goes to Leo's office, saying she's been searching all over the place and finally she thought about calling the gallery who had sent the replacement painting. And she found Cecilia's creation, but Ofelia had destroyed it. Leo is shocked.
Camila is back at the mansion, once again kicking and screaming. Mar says she doesn't care about her opinion, Camila starts grabbing a painting from the wall, because her mother created it. Mar asks her to leave, she doesn't want any more problems. Camila says she is leaving, she doesn't need to be here anymore, she's very happy with Juan.
A car comes from the Portilla house and Ofelia thinks they are coming to take her back to the mansion. But it's just a driver handing her the keys to the casita.
She goes to see Amparo, explains to her that Mar threw her out of her house. Her own daughter. Waaaah!
Mar didn't defend her, but she still loves her because she is her mother. She is now worried because Mar is alone in that house, surrounded by many enemies. And now she has to get back to the house she always hated, her prison. Amparo thinks Mar will reconsider, but Ofelia is afraid she'll never see her again. But even as she was leaving, she saw her so beautiful, well dressed and surrounded by all that luxury and that made her happy. And Val is doing well, also, living in a brand new apartment and being a model. She managed to create good lives for her daughters and that has always been her purpose. She always told Mar to do what she had to do to have the good life. And she's done it. More crying.
Thanks Adriana! Nice to have time to read your wonderful recap even before coffee this morning! So O is out, and Luis is hoping it's for good, and O is wondering if she will ever see her precious Mar again, but somehow, I doubt it will be even the end of the week before they all see Ofelia again!!! Que Dramatico!
Alone, crying to buddy Amparo, reflecting on the fact that Mar is 'alone in a house full of enemies' separated even from her sister who is across town in her own apt - but still a model; and O feels like she did a good job because they look so beautiful, well dressed and surrounded by luxury??? YIKES!!
The good news is Mar probably isn't 'surrounded', I mean Paula and Cami sure, but Leo is too stupid to qualify and Nic and Art don't seem to actually mean her harm. Luis isn't an enemy, but he isn't proving much of an ally either lately. He seems less and less the reasonable one with every passing day, but then maybe the mounting stress is getting to him. He's added fading health, and death of his sister to his worries about his kids and grief over wife number 1; dude should go back to the beach and relax for a while.
One more reason to hate Susana - she pushes her obviously unhappy daughter-in-law to have a baby with her obviously unhappy son who she knows isn't in love with his wife!!! That's a fantastic idea, you crazy controlling shrew!
Thank you for documenting all of the drama in great style, Adriana. It must have been great fun recapping this episode.
Yes, Ofelia had it coming. Even after Luis telling her to leave, the way she pressured Mar to go against him was unforgiveable. Poor Mar with Luis thinking she could have controlled her mother. Sure . . . At least, Mar made sure Ofelia had her things packed in the suitcase and Luis the keys to her old house. Ofelia forgot or perhaps never knew that there is always somebody smarter out there. She was easy pickings for Paula.
Darcy, you are so right about that "Crazy controlling shrew" Susana. She was unbelievable.
Adriana Noel, thank you for your superb summary. I drank in every word.
After the episode ended, all I felt was sadness.
Ofelia has always been Ofelia, never seemingly for the better, but always for worse. She knows no limits and is truly her own worst enemy. Yes, she pushed too far but her assertion that "...now she has to get back to the house she always hated, her prison" seemed too harsh a punishment.
No one is happy except for Val and Arturo (at times). This desperately needs some light and levity.
Diana
Cher Adriana, merci...wow , you got a juicy episode to recap, and your recap is a wonderful review of all the drama.
So many thoughts on Ofelia..first, pride goeth before a fall. Yikes, that epic shopping trip seems to have made Offline lose her focus and allow cagey , clear headed Paula to execute her clever plan . Just imagine the good this could accomplish if she wasn't an evil , greedy soul.
Ofelia with her runny nose caressing the fine sheets and sofa throw in her room was...disturbing ? Funny? Pathetic? If she could just have kept a low profile and stayed under the radar...but nope...she had to boost and crow and think she could manipulate Luis the way she has manipulated Mar. O could just not shut it . She couldn't run silent, run deep.
I do not want screaming Mimi Cami redeemed . She made her bed ...she must sleep in it..and then grab a mop and start helping out at the little house . Susan
Thanks, Diana, great recap. And thanks to Kat for filling in conversations. Now we have no doubts about Paulina. She may be willing to take Lila but has no maternal feelings for Emi. I was so glad he was telling someone about Fed, then Paulina accuses him of lying and how people will think he’s sick in the head, in addition to his body. He’ll never tell anyone again! Poor kid.
Thank goodness Chofis left that room. I don’t think much of her friend for making her think she has to do this. And Oliver didn’t even bring a condom. I hope she decides her friend is giving poor advice. But now we have creepy Guzman, who will probably give equally bad advice. He’s a sicko.
I don’t understand why the kids didn’t want to go to the school play. I would think Emi would want to go and see his siblings. Lila has been so bratty to everyone but her mother and Jason I can see her maybe not wanting to go. They’ll be more drama between the four adults without the kids!
I hope Rudolf finds Pipi, he’s been gone long enough. I bet Clara Luz is his mother. Silvana was pushing too hard to get her to donate her eggs.
Liz
Thanks Adriana, I enjoyed your recap. You captured all the drama. I feel like we should feel sorry for Ofelia because she is innocent of the picture event. But she did want it gone and was happy with the blank wall. Her prior behavior made it easy for her to be blamed. Mar is the only person in the mansion that likes her mother. Did she really expect Mar to defy Luis. And Mar thought she did it too.
We knew Paula wasn’t nice but I can’t believe the hatred she has for all the family, even Leo. Destroying the painting was so cruel. I keep hoping there’s a way to fix it. Or maybe there’s another one like it in the gallery. This is going to hurt everyone in the family. I can’t wait until they find out who really did it.
Arturo and Val’s relationship is doomed. He is too sure Mar is just like her mother. He thinks Val just can’t see that the money has changed her. I’d be dumping him ASAP. I wonder how long the writers will take to end this. And by the time the truth is out she’ll be with Nick and hopefully her scowling and crying will be gone.
I have to comment on something . What is wardrobe doing by putting pregnant Mar in these tiny , tight, short dresses ??? The black and white number that she was (almost ) wearing in this episode l with the sleeves halfway down her arms loomed like it might fall off at any moment . ...so weird. Susan
Another observation ...Why did Paula feel free to destroy the family in front of that guy at the gallery ? Is he an ally of hers ? That seemed very odd to me. She had a witness !!!l. Wow.. She was so full of rage as she cut each family member! I cannot wait for her anvil . Susan
Kat, thank you for a great review of all the angst .
Well, Tino finally know what Guz is doing to Aide . Hopefully, he will go to her and try to help ...or is it too soon for that ???
I am glad that Jason seeks to be a decent guy, but be seems to have no idea what his wife is really like.
Disgusting Guz is continuing to Slowly and slyly seduce young Chofis. Ugh . I am sure he was, also the person who terrorized Uli. What anvil will the writers give him?
What is up with the hole in the bedroom wall that Clara found ??! It surely appears that she is Pipe's mother...yay. Susan
Liz, I appreciate your kind words.
"Now we have no doubts about Paulina. She may be willing to take Lila but has no maternal feelings for Emi" was exactly right! Accusing him of lying was the cruelest blow. It was so frustrating that when he finally tells someone, it had to be Paulina! She is so not worthy of her children.
You also raised an excellent point in that Emi likely will keep mum thanks to Paulina's admonishment. Cringe...
It does make no sense that Emi wouldn't want to see Circe and Uli!
It does seem as though Clara Luz might be Pipe's mother. Let's get him home pronto!
Diana
Susan, that scene with Guzman and Chofis was stomach churning wasn't it?
I'm really afraid for her...
I'm curious too about the hole in the wall Clara Luz found. I hope the finding Pipe storyline hastens along...
Diana
And just when you think Adrien and Memo are going to be brought to justice by Fabiola turning in the thumb drive, you discover the new lady put in charge of the case is crooked. ( and likely the main boss is also since he took Roberto off the case). Of course there has to be a crooked cop or 2. Fabiola gives the thumb drive to Roberto's replacement. She tells Roberto that a classmate witnessed the boys outside their car and that 2 other guys were their and one had a gun pointed at them
Enrique isn't thrilled to have Inez joining his campaign. He won't be able to continue with his bit on the side, Karina, quite as easily with the wife underfoot.
I can't remember the name of the new girl at the hotel, or whatever Chofis boarding house is called. At any rate she is getting along with Patricio like a house on fire after only one day of living under the same roof. She seems like a fun loving girl.
From a previous episode Fabiola has some mental issues. I'm sure memo will utilize that fact if they ever catch him.
Is the silverhaired cop a good cop or a bad cop? That actor has been in so many telenovelas. Susan
Susan, he almost always is a good guy. But, I’m not so sure in this one! We need another good cop, so I hope he ends up being good.
