As Steve reminded us, “Doménica Montero” starts on 12/8 with Angelique Boyer, Marcus Ornellas, Scarlet Gruber and Brandon Peniche.
It really looked good but then (Oh, no!) the plot sounded a lot like “Soy tu dueña” (2010) to me and lo and behold! it seems to be a remake of “Soy tu dueña” which itself was a remake of “Doménica Montero”, a 1978 Televisa novela, which was based a 1972 novela from Venezuela: “La doña”. Whew! Thanks, Wikipedia for clearing that up! So in spite of an all star cast, I most likely will skip this one since I would always be comparing the leading lady and galán to Lucero and Fernando Colunga . . . from the 2010 version . . . The real question is how many remakes can a remake make?
Hi, Chickie, I am looking forward to this show . I am a fan of Angelique . I still remember her on a dancing competition years ago. Scarlet is a delicious villain.
I hope that you and your animalitos are doing well. Susan
Jarifa: I busted out laughing when you said "It really looked good, but then.... Oh no!" I am personally interested to see if Scarlet's evil character will escalate full-stop to result in deadly ramifications on innocent folks ?
Safe to say that Scarlet Gruber has found her niche: Queen of EVIL Antagonists in Telenovelas.
Last night I noticed YouTube TV was showing the Univision channel again. Good news!
Babachita
Steve, Gabi Spanic did a great job as the jealous, evil and twisted sister in “Soy tu dueña”. Just another reason I can’t watch this refrito with your more recent queen of EVIL. Too bad all of these actors just sort of age out of their categories each decade or so. : (
Jarifa: I'm assuming you're openly hostile towards Scarlet Gruber ? 🤔
She's doing an amazing job portraying despicable characters.
No, Steve, not at all. I have seen Scarlet Gruber in other roles and have enjoyed her performances. By the same token as much as I like Angelique Boyer, I cannot see her as Doménica/la dueña. For me theDoménica /dueña ship sailed with the 2010 version. I am done with that story.
We begin with the newlyweds hugging each other joyously as a smiling Lucia appears at the back of the church. An unsmiling Franco sees her but turns away. As Julieta takes pictures, Franco appears. Lucia smiles, explaining the obvious - she returned! One look at his stoic face tells her something is wrong. She walks over to give him a kiss and as he pulls back, Julieta slithers right over to his side. He introduces them and Julieta says ahhh, “the famous Lucia”. Julieta threads her arm around Franco’s proprietarily, declaring she is his novia. Lucia’s face darkens, taking offense at the remark. She walks unhappily away.
Lucia and Rosalia are thrilled to see each other.
Rosalia greets Nestor warmly (why is she doing this to herself I murmur) but he strides right past her. Cold. Lucas tells her to forget Nestor.
The joyous couple appear and give the crowd what they crave: besos!! Juanita abandons Carolina when Oscar shows up (looking quite handsome I must say). I can’t follow what his lips are saying but his look is radiating pure love.
Angelina and Juan David have their first dance; Juan David is stiff but giving it everything he has.
Lucas joins a brooding Rosalia. Lucia looks at Franco with regret as Julieta flashes her a smug looks.
Carolina has removed her habit when Oscar shows up again. Hi ardor hasn’t dampened; she reminds him she is a nun. Still he persists, taking her hand an putting it on his heart (as I melt). He takes off his hat and their lips join. He puts his hand on her neck and continues the soft, romantic kiss.
Rosalia watches Nestor as Lucas, trying to distract her, leads her onto the dance floor. She and Nestor come face to face but he doesn’t want to dance with her, cruel in his rejection. She upbraids him as everyone stares. “He is my father” she shouts to the guests, unmasking him. Nestor sneers saying “bravo” and “congratulations as he claps sarcastically. Juan David and Angelina stare.
Oscar and Carolina hug as Father Gabriel appears. He sees them and shakes his head. All of a sudden, Carolina spies him and beats a hasty retreat, much to Oscar’s chagrin.
Lucia asks Rosalia if it is true Nestor is her father. Yes. Rosalia offers her sympathy and hugs her friend.
“I’m sorry” Carolina tells an angry Father. He talks about the consequences of the kiss. Carolina cries but he says what will come of her relationship with Oscar is grave. He talks about Sister Celeste and those implications. “It is an impossible love” the upset Father tells her.
Diana
The bouquet is caught – by Doris. Gloria has nothing nice to say but Doris ignores her and dances away.
Juan David carries Angelina into and around the hotel room but unfortunately he throws her on the rose laden bed too hard and she hits her head on the headboard!
Father Gabriel is on a roll. He pays Nestor a visit to talk about Rosalia. “I’m not interested” Nestor roars (at least he’s consistent). “Por Dios” the good padre says but it falls on deaf ears. Rosalia is a good woman the padre insists to which Nestor basically tells him to get out! An aggravated father leaves, riled up by both encounters.
Angelina holds an ice bag to her head; she makes it clear her ardor has not been dampened in the least 😊
Lucia asks Rosalia how Lucas is; the reviews are glowing. Then, Lucia asks about Julieta. It doesn’t appear Rosalia is too high on her.
Meanwhile, Julieta is pumping Franco about Lucia. He said he was surprised but he looked miserable.
It appears the wedding night interlude went exceedingly well. Angelina is ecstatic about her happiness but poor Juan David has passed out.
Father Gabriel prays for direction, explaining everything to God whom I sense likely already knows what is going on. 😊 We see Oscar pacing in his room. Carolina packs her bag
Juanita and Andres say their goodbyes; I believe Carolina tells him Sister Celeste is coming. Juanita and Andres pinky swear and Carolina thanks her for everything. They hug and take their leave sweetly and supportively. Carolina asks she take care of her sister.
Sister Celeste is on a bus and so is the detective Carlos hired.
Angelina has prepared a lovely breakfast for Juan David; he is impressed and very much in love. Barely a morsel is consumed when kissing begins. Then there is an ill-timed knock on the door; oh no, it’s Gloria, much to their surprise. They are gracious, nevertheless. I think she makes some recommendations for changes to the house but Angelina declares she likes it just the way it is. Gloria is eating when Angelina decides to drop the bombshell Juan David is not a millionaire. Gloria drops her fork as all three rise. She asks him to explain. I mean what can he say? Then Gloria starts laughing hysterically as they look on, horrified. It’s true Angelina says. Gloria continues to laugh thinking they are playing with her. Then suddenly, the laughter turns into very ugly crying as it all sinks in. She falls back on the couch. Gloria finally rouses herself and has some juice. She isn’t happy to say the least especially as Manuel lied to her. Angelina stands up to her and says Juan David is her husband. Gloria says she won’t forgive her and stalks out.
A sentimental Carolina has her last class with the boys.
Franco is tormented, recalling Lucia telling him she loved him. “Why?” he asks himself.
Julieta sneaks up on a sad Lucia sitting outside and takes her picture. Lucia isn’t happy. I think Julieta lies and says how much in love she and Franco. Regardless, she obviously does not respect boundaries.
Oscar shows up to greet the boys and Carolina. The boys take their slingshots and hurry off. Oscar and Carolina look at each other sadly as Carolina says goodbye to Moises and looks regretfully at Oscar.
Father Gabriel and Carolina meet. I could not understand the conversation and did not want to guess. From the tone and expression, I thought the good Father might be changing his mind? At the end of the conversation, the Father tells Carolina he respects her decision. Jarifa, I am hoping you might be able to fill in this important conversation.
The bus arrives and Celeste and the detective alight. Celeste immediately recognizes him.
I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving.
I will try to watch and get Friday’s recap up sometime on Sunday.
Diana
Jarifa, thank you for the information!
I'm with you in that some telenovelas were pretty perfect. And that is the way I wish to remember them. While comparisions with new versions are inevitable, I can't imagine several of my favorites being remade, but it appears that is happening.
To my great dismay, I read that Amores Verdaderos is one. I loved Eduardo Yanez and Erika Buenfil as the main couple and can't imagine anyone else in those roles. The new version is called Guardian of My Heart and it was reported Silvia Navarro (not my favorite) and Paulina Goto were the leads. The male leads have not yet been finalized.
Sebastián Rulli, Alejandra Barros and Ela Velden will be the new cast of an updated La Malquerida. I cannot fathom them replacing Victoria Ruffo, Ariadne Diaz and Christian Meier whose performances were outstanding.
I'm sure many will enjoy the remakes but that said, I won't be among those watching as sometimes the one you watch is the one you want to remember.
Diana
Thank, Diana, for doing recaps on a holiday weekend. Here is hoping that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, too.
Oscar offers Carolina a glass of wine. He has heard that Andrés is going to leave the next day. They agree that they both and Moisés are going to miss him. He is a great kid. Oscar concludes that the legal matters with his mother must have been solved and she is no longer a fugitive. Carolina agrees. He is happy the kid will be reunited with his mother. He is just sorry he will not be there for the opening of the school. He reminds her that he renovated the school so she wouldn't leave Monteverde. He has to admit he was very wrong about the good father inviting women to come live in Monteverde. He has not stopped thinking about her. She has no idea about how he has missed her the days he didn't see her. She reminds him that they had agreed to to leave all of that behind. He apologizes and explains that is something he just had to say.
He is not one of those men who keep their feelings hidden. She asks him to not continue as Juanita tells them the novios are going to dance.
Funny how at quinceañeras and weddings it is always one Strauss waltz or another.
The good father tells Doris how God granted his prayer with the marriage of his nephew and Angelina. She asks him to pray for God to fix her truck.
Néstor gets a kick out of making fun of the absurd and ridiculous wedding festivities to Oscar. He makes a point of saying that is why he isn't getting married. Oscar says if you fall in love you do that and more. He chooses not to explain and excuses himself to find Carolina. The good father sees him.
Carolina tells Oscar she needed a break but is ready to go back to the reception. He tells her to wait so he can tell her how each day he doesn't see her seems like an eternity. She is ready to get back to the party. He asks why she runs away form him. He knows she feels the same as he does. She begs him (again) not to continue. She is a nun. He believes God wants her to be happy and that is why he is there. He puts her hand on his heart and asks if she can feel it. His heart belongs to her and to nobody else. He is willing to wait for her for however long it takes. The kiss.
Rosalía soon regrets her announcement telling Lucas that maybe it wasn't the time or the place. She tells Lucía that unfortunately her father had to be the worst of the possibilities she had.
Carolina tells the good father that she just couldn't control herself. He asks her where her common sense went. She asks his forgiveness. He says there is none for what she did. He bets she never told her sister she is in love with Oscar either. He asks how she is planning on solving the problem of her sister arriving and finding a man is in love with her. What if Oscar tries to kiss her?
Carolina admits she made a mistake but she has fallen in love with Oscar like she has never been in love with anyone before. That is stronger that her reason. She tells the good father that she indeed knows that her love is an impossible love.
Rosalía is regretting her announcement at the wedding. Lucía says with the way people were dancing and drinking , nobody is going to remember. Rosalía tells Lucía that Julieta is living with the guys for a month now under the pretext that Manuel didn't have any rooms at the inn. She is acting like the lady of the house who is there to stay. Rosalía doesn't think that Franco is in love with Julieta but he is with her.
Franco tells Julieta that he never thought that Lucía was ever going to come back. He is now with her so that is all that should matter. Julieta hopes he is being honest with her and that Lucía's presence doesn't confuse him. He insists that Lucía's return doesn't change anything between them. She gives him a quick kiss.
The good father asks God for a sign (will he get one?) to indicate the path he should take in the Carolina/ Oscar/Celeste situation.
Angelina has prepared a unique but nutritious breakfast for her and Juan David. It includes oysters to fortify their hormones, coffee to increase their libido and chocolate so they feel good. There are also eggs.
Gloria is there to have breakfast with them like the family of THREE that they are. After Angelina says she is not interested in remodeling, Gloria says she can understand how inconvenient it will be with the workers. etc. but it will be worth it for ALL of them. It comes out that Gloria is thinking of living with them . . . as a possibility. Gloria also thinks that they ALL (she included) could fly to Paris for the honeymoon. Angelina tells her that Juan David is no millionaire.
Lucía tells Julieta to erase the photos she took of her without her consent. Julieta has to agree and adds why would she want a photo of Lucía anyway since she isn't as pretty as she imagined she would be. Lucía asks why she would think anything about her. Julieta says it was based on what Franco told her when she meet him but since she has been with him, he no longer remembers Lucía. Lucía says she is pleased for him. Julieta goes on about how much she and Franco are so in love with each other and how she ended up staying in Monteverde because of him. So she will not allow Lucía's arrival
ruin their relationship. The best thing would be for Lucía to go away. Lucía makes it clear that Julieta is nobody to tell her what to do. She will be staying in Monteverde for as long as she feels like. Julieta says she can do what she likes but she will have to deal with her if she tries to break her and Franco up. She is a bad enemy to have. Lucía is surprised that Franco is with such an arrogant woman. How far he has fallen!
Moisés and Andrés wish they could have been brothers.
Oscar (he who cannot take NO for an answer) has to tell Carolina how he couldn't sleep last night thinking about the kiss they shared. He again says he is willing to wait for however long it takes for her to change her mind. She tells him he is a marvelous man and no matter what happens, she will always remember him. He remarks that sounds like a "goodbye" to him. She smiles sadly and he watches her leave with Andrés.
Carolina announces to the good father that she and Andrés are ready to leave. He wants to talk to her before she leaves. He was thinking about her relationship with Oscar. He is not judging her. Love is the most pure emotion that God gifted us. He is not there to prohibit them from loving each other. If they are so in love, they deserve the chance to be together. He says Carolina has to tell Oscar the truth about who she is. Oscar and the whole town should know. It is only in that way they will be able to be together. He thinks she and Sister Celeste should appear in Monteverde together. Carolina explains that his intentions are laudable but what he is asking cannot be. She is a fugitive from the law.. He adds she is unjustly labeled as such. She explains it doesn't matter. She came to Monteverde taking her sister's place in order to hide. If the truth got out, he himself would get hurt since he knows who she really is and that she is not Sister Celeste. He would be seen as her accomplice. She refuses to put him in danger. She wishes that things could have been different but the circumstances forced her to lie. She is grateful for his good intentions but like it or not, she has to leave Monteverde and her sister has to take her place. He accepts and respects her decision.
Jarifa, I did have a lovely Thanksgiving which passed far too quickly. Your recap was just exceptional ; you added just the right ingredients to make sense of and clarify everything that transpired.
"Angelina has prepared a unique but nutritious breakfast for her and Juan David. It includes oysters to fortify their hormones, coffee to increase their libido and chocolate so they feel good..." was a delicious addition, adding so much spice and flavor to the story.
I also liked "Oscar (he who cannot take NO for an answer)" which is exactly right!
"So she will not allow Lucía's arrival ruin their relationship. The best thing would be for Lucía to go away. Lucía makes it clear that Julieta is nobody to tell her what to do". Julieta is pushy and obnoxious; determined to hang onto what she perceives is hers (Franco). Speaking of, I wish he'd follow his heart. It's obvious (well at least to me), he's "just not that into her". Loyal but foolish behavior.
I'm glad Father Gabriel somewhat reevaluated the situation. I like that Carolina is aware how dangerous her predicament is and doesn't wish to put the priest in any mortal danger.
Jarifa, thank you again! Thanks to your explanation of what happened in the last scene, you set me on the right path to (hopefully) formulate the beginng of the next recap which I just finished and will post shortly :)
Diana
The good padre and Carolina are finishing their serious conversation on the state of Carolina and Oscar’s nonunion. Carolina appreciates his support but the reality is that she must leave Monteverde. Her sister will come and replace her. He respects what she has decided and they walk out together.
Juan David frets about Gloria’s threats but Angelina reassures him. She asks him about the money and is horrified by the amount they owe for the wedding. Still, she cannot stay mad at him and the besos continue.
Sister Celeste ducks into a doorway, knowing she is being shadowed. Sure enough, the detective is right there!
Gloria flies to Manuel’s branding him “mentirosa” although the poor man is unable to get a word in edgewise. She tells him he deceived her, is a traitor and leaves him crestfallen.
Doctor Rosalia writes out a prescription for a patient as Lucia storms in ranting about Julieta. Rosalia does not dispense medicine but sound advice.
Sister Celeste ducks into a coffee shop and orders an American coffee. She asks a man sitting there to mind her luggage as she steps off to the side.
The good padre is driving Carolina and Andres when Celeste calls. She is in a dither, explaining the situation, that they are on the verge of being discovered. She tells Father Gabriel and worries as to what they will do. Andres doesn’t want his mother in jail.
Rosalia visits the stables looking for Lucas. She tells Franco Lucia returned to Monteverde. For him. He seems confused and miserable.
Andres says that their problems were caused by his father, not by Carolina.
The women are playing cards when a downcast Moises comes in; they try to cheer him up and he sits down.
A sad Manuel arrives at Juan David and Angelina’s. He tells them Gloria called him “mentirosa”. Uh oh. Gloria comes in and calls Manuel a traitor. Again. Juan David tries to intervene but she basically tells him to talk to the hand.
Nestor takes some supplies from Rosalie’s cabinet. He sees a journal on her desk and opens it. There is a picture of a woman, Rosalia’s mother and he actually softens and smiles!! Having found common ground, the two sit and have a more than civil conversation. He is actually quite handsome when he speaks about her. He gets up abruptly and leaves but Rosalia is smiling.
Gloria turns her vitriol on the newlyweds, telling Juan David off as Angelina cries. She is more or less forcing Angelina to choose and spits out “adios” on her way out.
Poor Doris is still trying to fix the bus; Hugo cannot start it. She stands by her story that Froilán is haunting her and responsible for what has befallen.
Diana
Franco asks Lucia if it’s true she returned for him. She said she did but knows she is late. She wishes him good luck with Julieta. “Lucia” he manages to get out but then stops. Lucia takes her bicycle and walks off.
Carolina scales her favorite fence to call Celeste but can’t reach her. She says something about Carlos and expresses worry about Andres. The father tries to comfort her.
Per her discussion with her sister, Celeste boards a bus for another destination but unfortunately she didn’t shake the detective who also climbs aboard. Celeste calls Carolina as he watches her.
Lucas arrives at Rosalia’s office clutching his chest. Funny but several kisses and a warm hug seem to immediately rectify the pain. They smile delightedly. She tells him about what happened with Nestor seeing her mother’s picture. I fear she is in for a huge letdown.
Franco flags down Father Gabriel. He hands the father a letter. If I say I think he does not intend to write back to his mother, am I correct? ☹
I think Andres tells his mother he doesn’t want to go back to Oscar’s.
The bus roars on and as the curtains are drawn, I surmise it must be nighttime. Celeste sees the detective sleeping and gets out of her seat.
Franco confronts Julieta about Lucia. I think he tells her to have some confidence in him. I don’t understand what she says but she seems to be guilting him into staying with her. Regardless, he certainly doesn’t look happy
It’s bedtime and a book for Andres. He tells his mother he doesn’t want to be separated from her. She kisses his forehead as her eyes fill with tears.
The detective wakes up with a start. It’s daylight and he jumps up, going to the back of the bus looking for her. The driver tells him she got off last night. He closes his eyes in frustration.
Angelina and Juan David arrive as Gloria packs her suitcase. She shuts down Juan David dramatically; she doesn’t want his opinion on anything. “Adios para siempre” she says cruelly to Angelina, and stalks out.
Moises teases Franco as Oscar has breakfast with his sons. Moises tries to spill the beans about Carolina but Oscar cuts him off.
Juan David arrives at Manuel’s saying Gloria has flown the coop. Manuel grabs his keys and rushes out.
Carolina tells Juanita what is going on.
Doris brings Hugo outside bringing up Froilán again. (We didn’t see the bus- was it taken?)
Lucas pays Rosalia a surprise visit. He invites her to visit his house (or perhaps more).
After her dramatic departure, Gloria is in a taxi when all of a sudden Manuel pulls up in his car telling the driver to pull over. Gloria tells him to ignore Manuel who then pulls over in front of the car. She gets out, giving him a piece of her mind. She starts to leave but he begs for a moment. He tells her how marvelous she is and how much their night together meant. He begs for another opportunity. He kneels proffering a ring box with a sparkling diamond inside. She gets emotional and stares.
A car door opens and we see a woman in a red jacket and blue pants walking to the door. “Eva” Father Gabriel stutters!!! It appears the not quite prodigal mother has returned!
Tonight seemed a bit choppy. I tried to follow as best I could. Advanced thanks to Jarifa for all of her marvelous insights and clarity. Also, if anyone is watching and would like to comment or add to the discussion, your voice would be very much appreciated.
Diana
It was fun to see the common ground that Nestor and Rosalia reached. There is hope. I hope Gloria’s ring has a big enough diamond to satisfy her. Both couples (mother and daughter) will be very happy if she ever gets off her high horse.
There will be some fun with both twins in town! I wonder what Eva’s story will be.
Thanks for getting us started, Diana.
Babachita
Babachita, yes, there is sure to be fun (and I suspect misunderstandings) once everyone starts seeing double!:)
I was shocked that Nestor was actually civil. More than civil actually! Rosalia is a nice woman and I hope he eventually comes to appreciate her.
Diana
Before they leave, the good priest tells Carolina it is really a pity that she has to go because there are loves that live forever in one's heart. (he sounds like he knows what he is talking about!)
Angelina tells Juan David that she wants to help him pay off the wedding debt. He refuses her offer. She is grateful but tells him that from now on they will be making all their decisions together since they are married.
Rosalía tells Lucía that Julieta's problem is that she knows that Franco hasn't forgotten her. The fact that Lucía is now in Monteverde must make her shake with fear. Lucía says she didn't seem fearful but very sure of herself and emboldened. Rosalía thinks it is all an act because she cannot compete with Lucía. When Franco finds out that Lucía came back because of him, we'll see who ends up on top. Lucía isn't planning on telling Franco she came back because of him because she wants no problems in Monteverde where she plans on staying. She came back not just for him but for the people and and for her friend Rosalía. She is going to get back to her pastry making business. Rosalía says maybe she can use the oven at the inn now that she cannot sue the oven at Lucas' and Franco's. Lucía is going to talk to Manuel about selling her pastries again. She also has new recipes.
Celeste tells Carolina not to come to Zacatillo. She tells the good father they have to go back to Monteverde. The good father assures Andrés that nobody will find his mother there.
Franco asks Rosalía why Lucía left in the first place. She tries to get him to understand the emotional state Lucía was in after getting stood up at her wedding. She wasn't ready yet to start a new relationship but now she has herself together and was surprised to see him with another woman. She tells him now rude Julieta was with Lucía.
Carolina is worried about her sister and the good father being involved in covering for her. The good father can only imagine the headlines: "Nun and Priest Implicated in the Concealment of the Fraudster Carolina Robles from the Police" The good father agrees with Andrés that it is his father who is at fault.
He is confident that Celeste will be able to lose the man following her.
Andrés tells the women at the inn that a problem came up with his mother and she couldn't pick him up so he has returned.
Gloria is leaving Monteverde FOREVER. She has made her decision and nobody can change her mind. Juan David looks to Manuel to stop Gloria from leaving by using all his charms and seducing her.
Néstor took the photo of her mother they are looking at. He remembers buying her mother carnations at a fair. The carnations ended up lasting for a month in a vase at her place! Rosalía remembers the story about the carnations but her mother never mentioned him. He thinks that she looks a lot like her mother. It is incredible that she is her daughter. Rosalía adds and HIS daughter to which he starts to scowl again. She invites him to get a bite to eat. He says he can't but maybe another time. He has a sick sheep to deal with.
Carolina tells the good father that she thinks the man who is following Celeste isn't looking for her but rather is looking for Andrés.Carlos wants to take her son from her. She bases this conclusion on the fact that Carlos threatened her with accusing her of kidnapping for keeping his son from him. The good priest wonders if it would not be easier for her to go to the authorities and tell everything. She says not really because she would still be placed in jail while they would be investigating Carlos which would give him time to move Andrés out of the country and she would never see her son again. The good father understands the predicament.
Celeste tells her sister she is on a bus to Ciudad Juarez and the man who is following her is on the bus, too. God will tell her what to do once they reach her destination.
Carolina tells the good father that he and her sister have been her guardian angels. He sys it is because what they are going through is not fair.
Franco gives the good father mail from the ranch to be mailed. No, Franco is not intending on answering his mother's letter. He doesn't know what to say.
Andrés wants to have his classes back at the parish building and not at Oscar's. Carolina agrees. She tells him that that when they leave Monteverde his aunt will have a place for them where they will be safe.
Julieta invites Franco to go on a two week photo trip with her. He wonders why she is planning it right now. She makes it clear it has nothing to do with Lucía's return but has to admit that a few days away alone and together could be good for them. He agrees but doesn't seem very enthusiastic.
The bus driver tells the man that Celeste got off six hours ago in Parral. The driver tells him the next stop is Ciudad Juárez.
Oscar thinks it is good that Franco is getting away for a few days with Julieta. Moisés says his father would like to do the same thing with the nun. Franco asks his dad if he likes the nun. Oscar asks Franco how he could ever believe such foolishness. . . Devilish Moisés refuses to take it back.
Juan David alerts Manuel to Gloria's departure and encourages him to go and get her!
Doris finds out that her bus has been stolen. She says they have to search for it. It didn't magically disappear.
Lucas invites Rosalía to stay at his place for two weeks because Franco and Julieta will be gone to the Riviera Maya.
Thank you, Diana. Your hard work is appreciated. I especially enjoyed your description of Eva: "It appears the not quite prodigal mother has returned!"
I cannot wait for everyone's reaction. I wonder where Celeste will pop up. Loved how she ditched her tail.
Jarifa, thank you for your kind words.
I so appreciate your expanding and clarifying so much and doing it splendidly!
I thought "...there are loves that live forever in one's heart" was beautiful and true. I've gone from wondering IF the padre had a great love to now wanting to know who it is!
"Rosalía thinks it is all an act because she cannot compete with Lucía". Yup, Julieta's toast! And the sooner the better, I huff.
"Carolina tells the good father that she thinks the man who is following Celeste isn't looking for her but rather is looking for Andrés". The smart sister is definitely one step ahead of me. Of course she's right which makes the situation even more dangerous.
I can't wait to see what happens when Oscar sees Eva is back. What could her motivation be for returning after all this time??? I can't wait.
Diana
Since Babachita clued me in that you tube TV added Univision back I'm wondering if I should try and find a way to catch up on these previous episodes. Is this a show worth watching?
Kat, I am thoroughly enjoying this as is Jarifa.
Babachita seems to be as well; I know Liz is watching as well.
Diana
I thought it might be helpful to record a few notes. I’m not sure how helpful/accurate this will be Liz as there was much that eluded me; I also had to hand write them as I didn’t have my computer when I watched.
Aide and Tino are at a restaurant but the romantic mood is spoiled when he has a flashback to an argument they had which was interrupted by Scarlet. They reassure her all is well when thankfully, Iker arrives to bring Scarlet back to his birthday party. Hernan brings Gisela in…
We see Serena giving Chano the computer he gave Poncho back.
Music plays as another couple is having trouble. Rudolf is chastising Clara Luz, green with envy thinking Gibrain is trying to move in on her. He mimics her “behavior” as she defends herself from his silly accusations. Of course it is Nazario who is fueling this fire as he chomps on French fries hiding around corners enjoying the show. Rat.
Bill and Emi have a conversation and shake hands. Tino goes after Bill and Aide has to calm him down. Later, Tino tries to apologize but he gets Aide’s cold shoulder.
Tino confides in Rudolf, telling him about his marriage problems; Aide, confiding in Clara Luz. She complains about so many things demanding her time and attention, family and work. Rudolf and Clara Luz both seem to counsel their friends, reminding them of the love they have for each other.
Paulina (in a string bikini) and Bill meet to discuss what is transpiring. She kisses him but he is completely unresponsive.
Valerio doesn’t seem to be able to find a job. Gisela slithers in and stroking his ego, mentions something I couldn’t follow.
Serena and Checo make peace and she agrees to come over and read to Chuchito. The most touching scene for me was that the drowsy little boy called her “Mamita”. Serena picks up Lichita’s picture thoughtfully and “talks” to her. Checo has dinner for her but she says they agreed that there would be no romance. She leaves.
Gibrain calls Clara Luz as Nazario sits there listening. It’s something I’m sure is work related but can’t ID exactly what it is.
Melina makes a sammie while chewing Tino’s ear about Maximax. Uh oh, I don’t like the way he’s looking at her. Oh, and the sammie isn’t for her, it’s for him as he thanks her and sits down.
At breakfast, Aide thanks Melina for her work. Valerio brings up something about work and everyone starts arguing.
Melina pitches an idea to Aide. She is trying to insinuate herself in Aide’s good graces. She opens Aide’s computer later and sees an exchange I couldn’t see.
Hernan and Gisela kiss. Ack. Thankfully, Serena shows up and we are spared anything further.
At Serena’s, Pancho opens the door and two masked men make their way in, punching him brutally!
Uli shows up and sees Melina at Aide’s computer; he asks where his mother is. He isn’t fooled as she stares and calls him “maldito”, muttering under her breath…
Diana
Diana, thank you.
Melina is ramping up her game and going after Tino. TPTB are showing off Jose Ron's muscles and tattoos a lot more .
I wonder if weird Valero was looking for a job in that club . This guy has no idea what it means to live without Dad's money . I am sure that we will see Circe back to Checo by the finale. Susan
Oops, I clicked out too soon, a few more things…
It appears Tino and Aide have a special date.
A really cute scene…Tino brings out some shirts for his boys (Uli, Emi and Iker) to rate. So handsome in a tux, then a gangster luke then a t-shirt. Finally, a dress shirt and blazer win their approval.
Aide tries several new hair styles, the one with a reddish tint is the clear winner according to Circe and Scarlet.
Melina complains about Uli to Hernan…
Uli flashes back to his abuse at Guzman’s hands (covered in the first series)
Nazario and Rudolf are belting down tequila. Not a good idea. Nazario wants to fracture Rudolf and Clara Luz’ relationship.
A distraught Serena comes home to find her house destroyed and her son on the floor. She talks to him, very upset.
Aide is sitting at a restaurant expecting Tino but Bill sits down. He starts talking about Emi, crying and as he holds her, Tino comes up with flowers, angry, itching for a fight!
Diana
Thanks Susan!
I'm sure you are right in that Checo will be back with Circe. Valerio doesn't seem like a bad guy, though not without his faults. :)

A few snippets with a cautionary warning things may not have occurred exactly (or even remotely) as they are noted here 😊
Bill does a video asking Emi for his forgiveness. He gets a text supposedly from Aide asking him to meet her at a restaurant. The same restaurant that she is to meet Tino for their date.
Tino arrives to see Bill sitting at the table with Aide. He is relatively cool but quite upset. Tino stares at Aide after Bill walks away. He asks her what is going on. Another fire to be put out.
Dumb and dumber (Rudolf and Nazario) are soused out of their gourds as they try and make their way. Nazario hides behind a car filming Rudolf ringing Gibrain’s bell. Rudolf swings, trying to hit Gibrain but falls and hurts himself. Gibrain eventually sees Nazario hiding behind a car.
Pancho holds an ice bag to his injured cheek as Serena sits with him, kissing him telling him everything will be fine.
Valerio and Circe are in a club she says is “super trendy nice”. “The best of the best” he says. It appears he has a job there but as what? Not big enough for a bouncer, nor is he behind the bar.
Back at home, Aide has the bouquet of roses on her lap as she and Tino continue their argument during which Emi is mentioned. Aide asks him to leave their bedroom, then picks up the flowers from the floor. The next day everyone asks about their date as Melina stares stonily.
Bill calls Maximax, he wants to meet up about business. Aide tells him Tino isn’t there. Aide, Clara Luz, Bill and another man are meeting when Tino arrives. They leave as she questions Tino who is obviously upset. She doesn’t feel he has confidence in her. Later, Melina slithers in flapping her forked tongue.
Chano gets a sad shoulder from Serena.
A reluctant Gibrain tells Clara Luz (nicely) what Rudolf was up to the previous night. She is steaming when she hangs up calling “Rudolf”. Are you all right Aide asks? Yes, she lies. Then, Melina slithers in. The look Clara Luz gives her leads me to believe she isn’t all that fond of her.
Manu (from the band) calls Tino about him joining the band that night. He later shows Melina a video of him drumming with the band.
Did Valerio score a PR job? He and Circe argue at the club.
Chofis and Chuchito meet up with Pancho who is still smarting. He tells them what happened and poor Chuchito holds onto Chofis for dear life, fearing it is El Chacal.
Rudolf is nursing one helluva hangover headache 😊and getting no sympathy from Clara Luz! He tries to charm her and think he finally manages to make her laugh.
Tino has (another?) bunch of red roses in a blue vase that he sets next to Aide as their son plays on the floor. I think he is inviting her to the show that night.
Aide snaps at her mother about something. Gisela seems to blame Aide for the collapse of her marriage (or one of them)…
Tino takes the stage and sits at the drums at the show. The crowd loves it…
Chofis tells a shocked Chano what happened with Pancho. He visits Serena who assures him everything is all right.
Hernan continues his (unnecessary) computer lessons from Uli who mentions he was abused. Hernan seems genuinely sorry.
Iker goes on about Tino to Emi who looks left out and sad.
Bill texts Aide, apologizing about the restaurant debacle. He looks at her picture and it is clear he is smitten. Aloud he tells himself he doesn’t want any problems…
Serena and Chano have a romantic moment.
After Tino takes his leave of the group, he goes to his dressing room, where food and champagne, oh and Melina wait. He tries to thank her but ends up thisclose. Will they kiss??
