PAPAS #17 Part 1

We open as drum playing Tino jams with a group; Iker and Emi are there. Tino brings Iker over to the drums as the singer sings. Tino seems oblivious to the fact Emi is miserable. Bill text Emi.

Earlier Tino and Aide argued, presumably about Lila. When Aide tries to voice her opinion, he tells Aide she isn’t Lila’s mother! Cold. Very cold. I believe she tells him Bill is going to be involved with Maximax. They talk about Gisela as well.

Circe and Valerio continue their plans as he soothes “baby, friendly reminder…” with “pancake” thrown in. I’m speechless.

Pipe and Natalia talk about being hermanos as the adults arrive. Nazario tries to quiet Prisma. Rudolf and Clara Luz tell Pipe the truth – Natalia is his hermana. He asks why his mother Silvana kept it a secret. They hear yelling upstairs and poor Natalia is crying. Pipe holds her as Clara Luz and Rudolf stare angrily at Nazario. Later, Pipe has a bit of a temper tantrum. Later Clara Luz and Rudolf argue with Nazario (as he pulls out that stupid mustache comb again).

Iker and Scarlet talk smiling when Emi comes up and seems a bit disparaging. He and Bill text.

Melina and Tino have a conversation I couldn’t follow other than she tells him thank you for the opportunity.

Serena is dancing and posing as Chano comes up. He grabs her but she pulls away. She asks him about the children in terms of accepting their relationship; Chuchito isn’t exactly their biggest cheerleader. She stares unsmilingly. She later says something about Pancho not being her biological child (did I get that right?)

Chatting at dinner; Tino mentions and is obviously paying attention to Iker (which is a good thing) but unfortunately, he is rather neglecting Emi, which Iker notices, trying to bring him up/include him.

Back at the studio, Tino shows up with Iker and Emi but puts his arm around Iker. Tino starts playing drums as the band plays and sings. Emi looks bored when Bill texts him, he looks happy. He texts Emi about his brother Ronnie and looky who’s there, Paulina. Bill asks her about Lila and her hackles are up. She shows him a picture of Lila…

Melina looks at online pictures, trying to find Lila as Hernan comes in. It seems she finds her.

PAPAS #17 Part 2

Gisela asks Circe about her novio. “I’m a tomb” she says sincerely when Circe asks if she can trust her. All of a sudden, Valerio comes up; “what a coincidence” Circe says. He is charming to Gisela and kisses her hand. Gisela gives them a bit of space but seems very enthusiastic about Circe’s new beau.

Hernan arrives to “save” Gisela from Aurelio.

Circe meets up with Uli and Chofis; their conversation eluded me.

Iker and Scarlet talk as Melina eavesdrops. Something about one of Scarlet’s father’s clients.

Aide and Tino text while they are in the same room. His tats are very distracting…The good news is that they aren’t arguing and in fact, kissing passionately.

Circe and Uli return home and Gisela wants the tea from Circe. Circe admits to liking Valerio and Gisela mentions marriage. All of sudden, Melina slithers from around the column. Gisela is angry and wants her out. Melina isn’t cowed in the least.

Bill joins Aide, Tino and Clara Luz in a meeting. Papers are signed.

Circe and Valerio are in a fancy restaurant and when he leaves the table, a mime in a striped shirt and beret appears. He mimics proffering a ring and asking her to marry him. Circe seems to like this foolishness! Next, Valerio comes in wearing a mustache as are all the waiters; he and the waiters do a Charlie Chaplinesque dance. She is impressed; I am rolling my eyes. He starts, “Circe my love” opening a ring box.

Melina recalls the conversation she overheard about the “super trendy restaurant”. Iker comes in and tells an interested Melina about “Bill”.

Rudolf introduces Nazario to Aide. Clara Luz appears to be nervous about leaving Prisma with the children.

Tino is with Emi and Bill when Melina shows up. Tino introduces them.

Chano sweet talks Serena…

Nazario seems to say something off putting to Aide, but perhaps pretends it’s a joke(?) Melina is also there, does she work at Maximax now? (Perhaps that’s the opportunity she mentioned earlier).

Shockingly, we see Prisma with Natalia and Pipe at a bus station!!!

Bill tells Emi his condition is hereditary; his brother had the same condition. Emi then admits Tino is not his biological father!

In the last scene, all of a sudden, Valerio’s proposal scene to Circe at the restaurant appears on Tino and Aide’s phones!! The whole event was caught on video…Tino and Aide stare…

Some basics/guesses only as there were many missing links…

MONTEVERDE #9 Part 1

Franco confronts Oscar; your mother didn’t leave you Oscar tells his son; she left for another man. She abandoned us for another man Franco asks, hurt and incredulous. Oscar tells his son he will never forgive her for abandoning Franco. Oscar thanks his father for telling the truth and the two hug.

After the unexpected meeting with Rodrigo’s sister Rosaura, Lucia is hysterical as she tries to get into the car. Rosalia tries to comfort her

Gloria and the women are talking when Manuel arrives with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Thinking they are for her, Gloria walks over but wait! Manuel says they are for Senorita…Doris!!! Doris and everyone else is very happy for her. Well, except Gloria that is who looks miffed and regretful.

Uh oh, Sister Celeste is surprised by the earlier than expected return of Mother Superior Gustava. Celeste calls Carolina and tells her the jig is up! Celeste looks heavenward as she is told the Mother wants to meet with her – now. Naturally, Mother wants to know what happened to Monteverde! Speaking of, Carolina, now in complete panic mode, looks for Juanita and tells her that happened.

Rosalia brings Lucia to Franco’s. He asks if Lucia is OK, Rosalia says no, she ran into her ex’s sister. Rosalia checks on Lucas and his shoulder. He winces in pain but she tells him that is normal. He smiles as she leaves.

The good padre talks to Carolina about the Mother Superior. I believe he thinks he considers her quite formidable.

Manuel has prepared a lovely meal for Doris. Doris is sweet and no fool. She knows he cares about Gloria and calls him on it. He smiles appreciatively to indicate her instincts are spot on. “Salud” he says with a warm smile as they toast.

Franco asks Lucia what happened and she tearfully tells him. I only understood something about money…You are very important to me Franco tells her as tears fall down her cheeks. Then he leans in for a kiss which turns passionate, followed by others. He asks her for a chance; he isn’t Rodrigo he assures her. After another deep kiss and hug and he leaves. Lucia stands and look conflicted.

Oscar finds a picture of Eva in a book of Moises’ and asks where he got it. Then the sweet child asks where his mother is. Oscar says truthfully he doesn’t know; they then settle in and he reads his son a bedtime story.

Manuel and Doris are still sitting and having fun. Doris finally gets up and he calls her a grand amiga. She leaves and he sighs.

Rosalia returns to Lucas’ with a huge hypodermic needle and a sling for his arm. How romantic. They are very close and end up kissing!

MONTEVERDE #9 Part 2

Doris is walking home when she hears something. Crossing her path is a figure in a hooded (mink?) coat! She runs back to Manuel’s screaming, almost choking the poor man.

Franco walks in on Rosalia and Lucas kissing and she leaves shortly thereafter with one more goodbye kiss.

“Buenos dias” Rosalia greets Lucia the next morning. But all is not well. Lucia tells her she has decided to leave Monteverde! With that, Rosalia hops out of bed and reminds Lucia of Franco. Lucia tells her he is charming but she is in no condition/ready to be in a new relationship.

The good padre tells Juan David he needs to prepare for the arrival of Mother Gustava.

Lucia has her mind made up and is ready to leave, Rosalina in tears.

Juanita tries to calm Carolina down as we hear a car horn honk. Juanita tells Carolina to breathe!

Back at the convent, Sister Celeste tells the Mother that her presence isn’t needed in Monteverde. The Mother doesn’t agree.

A happy Lucas bids Franco cheerily saying how marvelous Rosalia is. Franco tells him about what happened to Lucia. Rosalia rushes in and tells Franco Lucia is leaving! He runs out and Lucas and Rosalia sit down to breakfast.

Uh oh. A “radiant” Doris comes in as the women are having breakfast. She enthuses about Manuel as Doris’ face falls.

The good padre is having Oscar help him as Carolina calls Celeste. They are in a panic when Carolina asks Moises for a favor…

Franco arrives frantically looking for Lucia. She had left him a letter which he reads before flying out the door. We see Lucia walking and hitchhiking. A car pulls over and she gets inside. Franco pulls out in his truck, roaring down the highway. He doesn’t find her and finally pulls over yelling why Lucia, why?

Angelina sprays herself liberally with perfume for her date with Juan David, surrounded by her friends as killjoy Gloria arrives. They take off on his motorcycle as Gloria fumes.

Franco ends up at the stable as he cries, rereading Lucia’s note. Lucas arrives and asks what happened. He hands him the note. Lucas’s eyebrows raise as he tells him he’s sorry. Franco calls himself a fool.

The women bring Gloria inside but she takes her anger out on them. Gloria talks about decency and morals and Doris calls her out.

Oh no. the padre is arranging for a video call!!! The Mother Superior sits next to Sister Celeste as Carolina sits next to the padre on the “other end”!!!

I didn’t understand all the specifics of Sister Celeste and the Mother Superior’s conversations nor Celeste and Carolina's; I initially thought the Mother Superior was going to go to Monteverde…I know I missed things but hopefully some of this makes sense.

Thanks for your recap, Diana. Melina had talked to Tino about recommending clients to invest. She knows a lot of people through her time working in the casino. She then overheard Circe talking to Gisela about where Valerio is taking her to eat. Later in the show Melina tells Tino and Aide she has an investor from this restaurant and sends them the link. So she was behind them seeing the proposal. She also is finding clients for a fee. She told Tino that then she could get her own apartment but she told Hernan she plans to stay there. Also, Gisela is encouraging Circe to accept the proposal.

I know Nazario was the one that told the kids Pipe has a sister. I’m not sure what he was saying at the interview but he was showing them different web pages he designed. It seemed Rudolf said something about his wife also having this skill, or talent but Nazarioput seemed to brush that off. Apparently he said some strange things as everyone looked a little uncomfortable or shocked.

Paulina asked Bill if he told Emi he was his dad, he said he hadn’t and she wondered why not.

Liz, with your information that Melina worked in the casino answers the question of how scheming and beaming Melina hooked up with sleazy Hernandez.

I had no idea of everything she is doing behind the scenes AND "in person!!" Such a sneak. I've no doubt she has her eye on Tino...poor Aide...

"She told Tino that then she could get her own apartment but she told Hernan she plans to stay there". Of that I've no doubt.

Adair certainly knows how to bring the wicked vibora vibes as she silently slithers around that house . So fun to see Adair interact with Erica ....two fabulous actresses. MONTEVERDE #9/parte 1

Before Manuel arrives, the women are talking about a local legend. One of the women had been warned by one of the men to be careful on nights when the moon is full. That is when Froylán appears. He was a woodsman who went out to cut wood for his house one night and was attacked by a wolf man. He managed to bury his axe in the monster's chest but he had already been bitten and doomed to be a wolf man himself. He appears when the moon is full. The only way he can be freed is with the kiss of a maiden. People who have seen him say he is terrorizing. The only one who doesn't believe is Gloria.

Manuel tells Doris that he will be waiting for her at his house and Gloria, who knows the route well, can tell her how to get there. Gloria is not pleased.

Mother Superior wants to know why Celeste is not in Monteverde. Celeste says that the women seemed so happy to be there that she didn't think that her presence was necessary. Mother Superior reminds her that was not the agreement.She was to remain there for several months Celeste assures her that father Gabriel had it all very well organized. Mother Superior doesn't agree to Celeste's offer to return to Monteverde the next day. Next week they will go to Monteverde TOGETHER.

The moon is full.

Rosalía and Lucía return Franco's vehicle with a full tank.

The good father has spoken with Mother Superior. She wants a video call with him tomorrow and he wants Carolina to be present. When she tries to get out of it he asks if she is on bad terms with Mother Superior. He was wondering because he finds the Mother Superior to be unbearable. Carolina agrees and suggests he ignore her request. He would rather not because she could cancel his Genesis project. He thinks that with Carolina there, the call will be less tense. Carolina answers with "if he says so."

Doris agrees to go along with Manuel's plan to make Gloria jealous.

Lucía spent 8 years with her ex. She tells Franco that with the money she got for her ring she is going to go as far away as she can.

Moisés asks where his mother is. Oscar says they looked but couldn't ever find her. He wonders if his mother is as pretty as Franco's. Oscar is sure she is with a son like him.Finally, he asks Oscar not to burn any letters from his mother. Oscar promises he won't.

Before the kiss, Lucía tells Franco she has to leave town now because she doesn't want to fall in love with him.

Rosalía asks if Lucas is flirting with her. She makes it clear that she wants to make good use of their time while he is planning to go to Italy. "Do not leave until tomorrow what you can do today."

Doris is convinced she has seen Froylán. (Looks like Gloira wrapped up in some (yes) mink coats spying on Doris and Manuel to me)

Lucía plans to go to Los Cabos and work at a cousin's restaurant. She cannot be talked out of leaving.

Juan David asks the good father for the day off so he can go with Angelina to Zacatillo. The good father has a good idea what is up and agrees to go along with the lie that Juan David went to Zacatillo on an errand for the parish so Gloria is left in the dark. The good father tells Juan David about the impending conversation with Mother Superior. He is asking God to allow him to treat her appropriately.

Juanita has a plan for Carolina and Celeste to avoid the video call. They both should pretend to faint before the call starts. Carolina will call Celeste to let her in on the plan.
 

MONTEVERDE #9/parte 2

Mother Superior informs Celeste about the impending video call with the good father. She expects Celeste to be there. Celeste never saw that coming.

Doris gives the impression she spent the night with Manuel and describes him as a "bull." Gloria is upset with her sharing her intimate experiences. An "exuberant" Doris has nothing to hide and is off to take a bath.

Carolina calls Celeste to tell her about the plan. Celeste doesn't think it will work. She will try to think of something else to avoid the call but she may have to tell the truth and they will have to take the consequences.

Moisés seems to be open to doing Carolina a favor but for how much??

Gloria goes crazy overhearing that Angelina and Juan David are off to their "little love nest."

Doris tells Gloria the only reason she is complaining is because Manuel chose her. Gloria insists she isn't interested in him in the least. She tells Doris she can keep him.

The good father and Carolina are at Oscar's ready to for the video conference to begin as are Mother Superior and Celeste at the convent. The connection is made . . .

I appreciate your explaining "Froylán"! I had to laugh at what I'm sure WAS Gloria walking along in her fur coat. She sure scared Doris though!

This episode was so much fun! I am liking this novela more with each episode.

Loved:
-the Froylán legend and Gloria in the mink scurrying along
-Doris and Manuel trying to make Gloria jealous
-Rosalía putting the moves on Lucas
-the good father helping to cover for Juan David and Angelina

I, too, was surprised that suddenly Mother Superior was going to make a video call. How will Celeste and Carolina get out of this predicament?

Thank you for the great recaps! They are really important as I’ve had to watch broadcast over the air and often miss things. I found that it’s now on Vix Premium, so I can relax a little. I wish Univision would make a deal like Disney/abc did.

What fun this is! Froylan in mink is a hoot. I love them teaching Gloria a lesson! I can’t wait to see the double nuns on video!
