MONTEVERDE #18 Part 1

“Eva” the good padre manages as she enters his house. It’s been many years she affirms. She sits and he asks why she is there. “For Franco, for mi hijo” she responds. I believe he says how hard things have been for Oscar. He tells her Oscar is living on a ranch. He leaves as she stares trepidatiously.

The padre asks Lucas for a favor.

We return to Manuel, on bended knee proposing to Gloria. He is loco for her! Ahhh, the ring is a perfect fit. It is precious she says. Manuel flatters her and after she says yes, but I think with certain conditions.

Carolina has once again hopped over the gate for cell phone reception when Oscar rides up. He asks about her sister and her son. Warm smiles beam from both.

Carolina calls Celeste and they talk about where she is and of course, Carlos.

Eva fills the padre in on her life; I didn’t understand much except she had been in Guadalajara.

The detective calls Carlos and tells him what happened; Carlos is unhappy to say the least.

Carolina brings Moises into the classroom (blindfolded) and Andres is there to surprise him. The friends open their bookbags ready to begin their lessons.

Franco arrives at the padre’s. Father Gabriel says what he has to tell him isn’t easy. Your mother is here. Franco looks terrified; just at that moment Eve comes out and says “hijo”.

Lucia talks to Rosalia about her situation with Franco.

Franco starts to turn and walk away but the Father holds him back. Franco is very upset and asks her “why?” He tells her he left her alone; she abandoned him years ago. The good padre tries to intervene but to no avail. Franco walks away as Eva calls after him. Honestly, what did she expect? She cries to Father Gabriel.

Franco recalls the day Eva left years ago, his father begging him to stay.

Carolina gives Moises a goodbye kiss and Andres and Moises hug. Moises gets in a car to return home.

Did you see a ghost Moises asks Franco?

Juan David and Angelina are about to kiss when there is a loud rap on the door. It’s Gloria, followed closely behind by Manual with Gloria’s bag. “This house isn’t a mansion” Gloria says but seems to look around acceptingly as she flashes the diamond around like a baton. Angelina gapes at the ring. Manuel proposed marriage! Manuel, Juan David and Angelina have a quick confab; it appears Gloria is going to stay with the newlyweds after all. At least for the present. Manuel kisses her hand before he leaves. Angelina waits on her as does Juan David. Free housing and your daughter and her husband to cater to your every whim. Not a bad deal 😊

Eva and the good father enter Manuel’s. Eva recognizes Hugo right away and he smiles sweetly. Lucas looks on, upset knowing full well how Franco will feel.

MONTEVERDE #18 Part 2

“What is it?” Lucia asks. “It’s Franco’s mother” he answers darkly. Then who should have arrived but Nestor! Eva calls him by name. “How are you” she asks. At first he stares, then actually smiles. She tells him she returned for Franco. He nods and leaves as she stares and gulps. There is definitely history there.

Lucas kisses Rosalie and takes his leave.

“Papa” Franco calls out to Oscar as the two meet up. I have something important to tell you. My mother has returned to Monteverde! Oscar stares, in shock.

Back at Father Gabriel’s, Eva thanks the good padre. She is shocked that Juan David is married. Carolina comes in, she and Eva introduce themselves. The padre (needlessly) tells Carolina who Eva is but Carolina recovers quickly despite her surprise.

Oscar is livid that Eva would return after all these years! He gets on his horse and rides off.

Carolina explains the Genesis project to Eva. Carolina says how generous Oscar is and is a good man. The good padre get called away and as Carolina leaves, Eva looks thoughtful.

A conflicted Franco and Lucas talk.

The detective goes to the convent Santa Maria and asks for Sister Celeste, saying she is his sister. She is my only family he pleads. The kind nun invites him in.

Julieta shows up and Lucas tells her the news that Franco’s mother has returned. She thanks him and runs off.

Carolina goes on a rant about Eva to Father Gabriel. Oscar is also discussed but it was over my head.

“Buenos tardes” a concerned Lucia greets him; she gently speaks to Franco as Lucas beats a hasty retreat. She tells him she saw his mother and asks if he is OK. He thanks her and says he is worried about his father. She walks up to him and puts her hand on his cheek as he murmurs his conflicting emotions. She then holds him close and tells him it is his decision as to whether or not he will forgive her. All of a sudden there is a loud “hmm” and we see an upset Julieta clearing her throat. ☹

Julieta is not happy as she tells him she heard Eva returned. Lucia beats a hasty retreat. He asks how she knows and she said she heard it at the restaurant. She kisses him and strokes his face but he looks fairly miserable.

I believe the nun tells the detective Sister Celeste is at another convent. He leaves his contact information.

And now, for the big dustup of the day! Oscar rides up and gets out of his truck, angrily striding into the priest’s house. He screams “Eva – largate!!” There is nothing for you here. She screams bask at him, she has returned for Franco. Bad blood is flowing freely and the words are harsh and unforgiving. Franco is MY hijo he spits out. He is mine she says. Father Gabriel and Carolina arrive as he tells her Franco doesn’t care about her and that she needs to leave Monteverde. She wipes away tears as the father and Carolina arrive as he repeats Franco feels nothing for her and that she must leave. Carolina looks a tad bit sympathetic.

Nestor is drowning his sorrows in a bottle. He gets up, grabs his coat and leaves.

Oscar goes into his bedroom and throws his coat on the bed. “Leave me alone Moises” Oscar says. The smart lad already knows Franco’s mother has returned. Oscar again tells his son to leave him alone and won’t let Moises ask any questions, yelling at the lad.

Eva tells the good padre she wants Franco’s forgiveness.

Rosalia is sitting in a booth at Manuel’s picking up an order when a drunk Nestor comes in, sitting down and asking for whiskey. “Are you all right” Manuel asks him. I watched the scene twice and can’t for the life of me figure out what he says but Rosalia looks alarmed. Jarifa, would you kindly fill in?

I had to miss the first twenty minutes and as I don’t have a DVR, needed to watch the late edition. I apologize for missing quite a bit; I’m a bit cross-eyed and did the best I could.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana, for going way beyond to provide this recap! I didn't even know there was a late showing of this novela.

When Eva said neither Oscar or her son had answered her letters, the good father asks what did she expect having disappeared for all these years. The good father doesn't think it would be right for her to go and see her son without him being asked first if he wants to see her or not. Since the good father has to give don Genaro the last rites, he asks Lucas to tell Franco that he wants to see him.

Celeste tells Carolina she will arrive in Zacatillo late that night and they can do the exchange early in the morning.

Eva tells the good father she was first in Guadalajara and then went to Barcelona. He asks if she continued painting there. She says in a way because she was teaching painting at a rehab center for young people. He asks why she never came to see Franco. She answers because she was not brave enough. As the years went by, the more ashamed she became for having left him behind and could not deal with it. Then a couple of months ago, she decided to face the mistakes she had made and that is why she wrote him and his father. Since she never got an answer to her letters, she decided to come in person to see her son. The good father hopes Franco agrees to see her for the good of both of them.

Rosalía tells Lucía that Julieta feels threatened and that is why she wants to take Franco out of town. Lucía sees the trip as foolish since she is there to stay. Sooner or later, she and Franco will see each other. Rosalía advises her to talk to Franco and tell him what she wants. Lucía refuses. Franco has made his choice PERIOD. It doesn't matter if she loves him or not if he is with somebody else. She makes Rosalía promise to not tell her anything she finds out about Franco and Julieta.

Franco addresses his mother as "Ma'm". He doesn't know the lady in front of him. Eva will be staying several days if he wants to talk to her. She admits to the good father that her son justifiably hates her.

Gloria first tells Angelina that a mother cannot live without her daughter so that is why she is back to stay with her and Juan David. Needless to say, Angelina and Juan David are surprised and not pleased as a beaming Manuel schleps in Gloria 's luggage. Gloria is open to making the sacrifice of living there while she decides if she will accept Manuel's marriage proposal. He has to prove he is worth her love. Juan David tells Angelina he hopes her mother makes up her mind soon.

The detective goes to Parral where he talks to a driver from a taxi company to see if a nun got a ride the night before. Nobody gave a nun a ride.

When an angry Juan David asks why Manuel brought Gloria to their home, a supremely confident Manuel answers that he only did what they asked. Manuel doesn't think that Gloria will be staying very long but will be moving in with him to enjoy their love!

The good father says there are no rooms at the inn, so Eva can stay at the rectory in Juan David's old room.

The detective next goes to a convent looking for his "aunt" Celeste where he finds out there is not a Sister Celeste Robles in their order or in any of the neighboring two convents. He leaves his contact info.

Carolina thinks that they should notify Oscar that his ex is in town ASAP. The good father knows she is worried about him but it is best that she remain on the sidelines as Sister Celeste would do.

Julieta asks Franco if he still wants to go to the Riviera Maya as planned now that his mother is back in town. They could postpone the trip . He sees no reason to change their plans just because his mother appeared.
 

MONTEVERDE parte 2

An explosive Oscar tells Eva repeatedly to go away!! She asks him who does he think he is to tell her what to do. Is he the owner of the town? He doesn't give a damn what she thinks. She informs him that she is not going anywhere. She is going to stay as long as she feels like. If her presence bothers him that much, he has nothing to worry about because she didn't come to see him but to see Franco. He says she might as well leave now since Franco wants nothing to do with her. She thinks Franco needs time to digest that she is back and she is willing to wait for however long it takes. Oscar reminds her that "time" with his mother is what exactly Franco needed and he didn't matter one bit to her. Who knows where she was or with who? Eva refuses to be provoked by him. She reminds him this is between her and Franco and has nothing to do with him! He insists it does because Franco is his son. A cow is more affectionate with her calf than how she was with Franco. Is she out to ruin Franco's life one more time? He wants to make it clear that he is capable of ANYTHING when it comes to protecting Franco. The good father and Carolina walk in. The good father remarks he sees that they found each other. Eva says they did and it seems that Oscar has become more neurotic as the years go by. Oscar asks if she was expecting a fanfare for her return? He repeats that she needs to forget about Franco and leave town.

The good father tries to explain to Eva that Oscar is merely trying to protect his son. Eva is looking for Franco's forgiveness. The good father warns her that her actions in the past speak louder than her words in the present in terms of fixing the situation with her son.

All out of whiskey, Néstor heads to the restaurant and buys a bottle there. He tells Manuel that he already ran into Eva. He never thought he would ever see her again. He wonders why she came to town and is worried that the truth will come out. Rosalía overhears him say that he has no idea what Oscar would do it he found out that Eva left town to be with him.
 

MONTEVERDE

Jarifa, I hung on every wonderfull word of your fabulous summary. You clarified the murky details and did so splendidly. I am so grateful!!

"Rosalía overhears him say that he has no idea what Oscar would do it he found out that Eva left town to be with him". Aha!! You knew that from the beginning and oh were you right!! It's said that no one can escape their past and there are sure to be swift and severe consequences for this transgression.

"An explosive Oscar" was the perfect descriptive. His fury was a sight to behold! And the truth is, I cannot fault him a bit. It is always sad when fathers abandon their children but I imagine a mother's abandonment is a wound that never heals. Did Eva really think Franco would run into her arms? If she left because Oscar was abusive that would have been an entirely different matter. But leaving for Nestor??? OMG, wait until Oscar finds that out!

"Gloria is open to making the sacrifice of living there while she decides if she will accept Manuel's marriage proposal". Sly as a fox, she will have everyone doing her bidding while Manuel grovels for her hand. She knows she should leave the newlyweds in peace but her selfishness wins out. What a piece of work she is.

I don't find Julieta personable or likeable in the least. Too bad Lucia is already taking a defeatist attitude but Franco has more than enough on his plate trying to come to terms with Eva's unexpected and unwelcome reappearance.

"Manuel doesn't think that Gloria will be staying very long but will be moving in with him to enjoy their love!" She is going to keep that man dangling on the line like a helpless fish. Poor guy.

My pleasure, Diana. You are so right that Gloria is going to try to milk her situation for all she can get. I am hoping that Manuel and his charm are able to quickly make it worth her while to move in with him.

You know, this novela is exactly what I needed. A little drama, a little comedy, twins!!!, Froilán, nuns in full habits, a local eatery/watering hole, unknown parentages, impossible loves, all out in some countryside where cellphone calls still cannot be traced and where some drink too much but there is nothing grotesque . . . so far. I look forward to each episode. : )

Papas #27. Part 1

It starts with a scene with Íker and Scarlet conversing about someone waking up from a coma after 11 years. They’re imagining it and Íker comments he likes Scarlet’s smile.

Back to Melina in Tino’s dressing room. She’s admiring his performance. They come close to kissing bit Rudolf and
Clara Luz burst in and ask where Aide is.

Circe is arguing with Valentario, he tells her to do what she wants, she always does anyway, then he walks off. Circe turns and sees Checo. She accuses him of following her but he’s been hired to take pictures. As he snaps hers he asks how married life is. She says it’s great, he should try it

Melina tells the couple she’s here celebrating their friend’s success, same as them. Tino’s been with her through her worse times. Rudolf and Clare leave, Tino is ready to go, Melina thinks it wouldn’t be good to arrive home together. She also had told him not to give up his music.

It’s obvious to Clare Luz that Melina was trying to seduce Tino, her dress, etc. Rudolf thinks no, Tino would never to that to Aide. Clara Luz points out that they’re not getting along te well.

Tino has a father son talk with Hernan.. He says Melina was very strange.Dad says it’s normal for him to be attracted to such a beautiful woman. Not the advice Tino was looking for!

Tino checks in on Emi, then finds Aide working. He wished she had been there, it was an important moment for him. She had a lot of work.

Serena and Cheno are on her bed on the floor. He wants them to be together always.

Tino takes Alexander to bed as Aide has more work.

Hernan is not happy with Melina for coming on to Tino and making him uncomfortable. She’s not concerned.

Tino, Rudolf and Nazario are talking about a job. Ruldof mentions Prisma because she’s helped Nazario before.

Bill, Aide and Clara Luz. Clara Luz leaves. Bill thinks Aide seems uncomfortable. She asks how he knew she’d be at the restaurant. He got a text, but she never sent it. They move on to Emi. If Emi wants to spend time with Bill, he can.

Serena and
Cheno are at the gym. She has followers on social media and wants to do videos. Checo comes by, he apologizes for not coming home last night, he was late and stayed at a hotel. When
Cheno leaves Serana points out something high up in the gym. Checo is pleased she already did it. Is it the video, I don’t know.

Nazario continues to undermine Clara Luz to Rudolf. She called and was telling him he was late. He tells him to put on his pants.

Bill is telling Emi all they can do together, he can help with his therapy, he can spend time at Bill’s..Emi interrupts, he thinks Bill just recently found out about him because it’s destiny they they never be father and son.

Papas 27 part 2

Clara Luz and Aide are discussing work when Clara Luz remembers the scene with Melena. She takes
Aides hands and seems about to tell her when Melina pops in and tells something about Tino helping Íker with the drums and she tried to talk to Tino and he was gone. She wants to help Aide fix her relationship with Tino. Then Bill walks in and Aide leaves with him. Melina basically tells
Clara Luz to keep quiet as she’ll be the one that’s hurt.

Hernan is talking to Gisela about how exciting it is hiding their relationship from everyone. But he wants more intimacy, Gisela is not there yet. They’re about to kiss when the man that works there walks in, they do the something In the eye thing but he doesn’t buy it and leaves.

Emi is doing homework when he thinks back to what he said to Bill. He thinks, me and my big mouth. Scarlet and Íker come in and he gets annoyed with them. Scarlet calls him a grinch and they leave.

Bill tells Aide about Emi. He feels maybe he wasn’t meant to be a father after losing his wife and son. He feels it’s his fault Emi has suffered with the disease all these years. Aide tells him not to think that way. He thanks her for listening and leaves.

Rudolf offers an apology to Gibron. Gibron thinks it was Clara Luz’s idea. He says he’s not romantically involved with
Clara Luz. Nazario joins them. He seems kind of smart alecky with Gibron’s name. Then says he’s joking. He asked if he’s married and then tells him Rudolf and he are both married. Gibron congratulates him, or them. Nazario goes for a coffee.

Emi pulls out a picture he drew of him in a wheelchair. He thinks back to happier times when he was Scarlet’s favorite. Aide comes to say she talked to Bill. She wants him to give Bill a chance, he was hurt. Emi feels bad and will think about it.

Íker offers to help Tino set the table. Tino thinks some girl will be lucky to get him. Then Tino wonders if he already has a girlfriend. Íker is wanting to say
something.

Chofis sees Uri as he’s texting an unknown girl.. She asks who he’s texting.

Emi sees a social media post of Bill and his wife. Underneath is written how he misses her and his unborn baby. Emi feels even worse now, poor Bill has suffered so much.

Chofis tells Uli her experience with Guzman was really bad. He feels his was worse, they end up mad at each other.

Tino and Aide send Melina out of the kitchen. Then they start arguing about her, and Aide not being at his performance. Melina is eavesdropping happily.

Hernan is pushing Gisela,
Circe is wondering what’s wrong with Uli, and Valentario is wondering about dinner. Then all are at the table. Valentario is doing great and they’ll soon have there own place. Tino says they’ve been looking at their calendar to get things organized. The first priority for the kids is to get good grades. Aide gets up and Melina smirks.

Gibron knocks on the door and Prisma answers it. He goes straight for the kids. He has a song for the kids to sing.

Íker and Scarlet are on a bench. She thinks it’s strange to be living in the same house. Iker’s worried about Emi but Scarlett says he’s like a brother. They kiss.and are caught by Gisela, who tells Íker to leave her granddaughter in peace.

Nazario is the only one of the parents that doesn’t want the twins to sing.

Gisela is with the three parents and Scarlet and Íker. She blames poor parenting by Melina. Tino said he already knew Íker liked Scarlet,which makes Aide furious because he didn’t tell her.

Valerio is at the club talking on the phone to Circe. She doesn’t like him working so late and she can’t go there to keep him company. After they hang up someone gives him some drugs.

Hernan is the only reasonable one, it’s just a kiss. Emi comes in, he’s going to get to know Bill better, they’re going on a trip. Bill is his father.

First, Liz, I hope you are feeling better?

A fantastic recap, you captured everything and did it so well. Thank you!

Of everything that occurred, Uli's actions were the most disturbing to me. He has always been kind and considerate. I didn't even know who I was watching last night. So cruel and callous; no trace of the sensitive young man he has always been. How he could be so unfeeling toward Chofis was really astounding.

Yes, when Clara Luz walked into Tino's dressing room, she knew exactly what Melina was doing! Caught red handed indeed. I wish she had warned Aide especially as I got the impression Tino might not have backed off from the kiss Melina definitely wanted to give him.

Scarlet and Emi were so smitten with each other not all that long ago. I feel for Emi that Iker has supplanted him in Scarlet's affections although Iker is a good kid.

Valerio has let his new job go to his head and to add insult to injury he's going down the drug path? Not good.

It will be interesting to see how Emi and Bill bond. I like Bill and there should always be room in one's life and heart for someone who loves them.

Papas # 28 part 1

We open with Emi saying he wants to travel with Bill, it’s his Papa. And he plans to live Scarlet is surprised.

Nazario is against the twins performing. All try to reason with him. He talks mean to Prisma and Clara Luz and Rodolfo tell him not to speak to her that way. Gibron knocks and Nazario lets him in.

Valerio is high and greeting customers. He sees
Chico and wants him to get out. Chico tells him drugs have consequences.

Gibron wants to do a musical with the twins. Nazario says it’s not up to the others, but to him. Gibron agrees that Nazario can set the terms. When will Rodolfo catch on to Nazario.

Tino tries to talk to Emi, but Emi wants to be with his dad.



Serena, Cheno and Chequeta are eating. Serena helps
Chuchito calm down when he mentions El Chacal. He feels Serena should live here, Poncho doesn’t agree and leaves the table, Serena asks Chofis if anything’s wrong. She says no and Serena reminds her she can always talk to her.

Uli’s is texting the secret girlfriend. She doesn’t want anyone to learn of their secret.

Nazario agrees to let the kids sing. I wonder what Gibron is up to, he’s letting Nazario call the shots.

Tino meets with Bill. Emi wants to travel and then live with Bill. Bill is pleased but then Tino tells him Emi is his and Bill will have a fight on his hands if he tries to take Emi.

Melina is furious with Íker for ruining her plans, he’s supposed to get close to his dad, and if Emi leaves it will be easy. Íker says she’s changed since the accident. When he leaves Hernan tells her their time at this house is coming to an end.

Clara Luz mentions Prisma working at Maximax. Prisma loves the idea but Nazario says she has to take care of the kids. Clara Luz says they all take care of the kids and Rudolf says they’ll all have I put into the musical, not only Nazario. Gibron agrees that the four of them work together. He leaves.

Gisela is still lecturing Scarlet. She’ll teach her to behave like a young lady. Aide comes in and says you’re not going to try and raise my daughter. Melina interrupts, she wants to discuss the two children with her.

Bill is not frightened by Tino’s threats. He can prove he’s the biological father. Tino says he won’t let him take his son.

Melina talks about getting payed. Aide reminds her she gets a commission on clients she brings in. Aide also tells her she needs to find a new place to live. Circe walks in asking if it’s true Bill is Emi’s dad. Circe sends her for her brother and sister so she can explain. She tells them how
Bill came to father Emi. The kids are upset that Emi might leave. Scarlet feels it’s her fault but Aide reassures her. She doesn’t want to lose another family member. Aide reassures them that Emi will always be a part of this family. Tino looked on for the last part.

Paulina is complimenting Bill on his good acting. He tells her he has strong feelings for Emi. She wants the three of them to go on the trip. He tells her no. She’s sure they’ll be a great family.

Emi is reading a Text from Bill. He puts it down before finishing and Circe and Uli come in. Uli encourages him to get to know Bill. Circe says our plan was to convince him to stay. Uli reminds her they wanted to know their bio dad. Whatever, they’ll always be brothers of the heart.

Aide is telling Tino he has to let Emi spend this time with his father. After a while Tino agrees that Emi needs to make the decision for himself.

Scarlet comes to see Emi, asking if he’s leaving because of Íker and she.

Melina comes to comfort Tino. She’ll always be there to help him. He thanks her for her words.

Papas 28 part 2

Circe wakes up and Valerio is on the couch. He didn’t want to wake her. He saw Checo at work. Circe says she saw him the other night. Why didn’t she tell him, she says it’s just running into someone you know, nothing to tell. They make love and Circe is not satisfied..Valerio says that’s her fault. He turns over to sleep.

Tino goes into Emi’s room. Emi says he has to make his own decisions. They’re leaving on there trip next weekend. So soon, where are you going? Emi tells Tino it’s a special place of his dads. Tino tells him ok but you can change your mind.

Íker apoligizes to Aide. She says they all live as a family. He promises he won’t do anything with Scarlet. He says his mother’s accident made them live here.

Uli wonders if his mom is ok. She’s sad for many things and mostly for Tino’s attitude. Uli can help her.

Nazario is getting on Rodolfo in the studio because Clara Luz and Gibron are talking. Prisma and the kids join them. Nazario makes some comment about the studio, then his, I’m joking.

Aide tells Uli about Bill receiving a message from her on her and Tino’s date night. Uli feels someone must have hacked her computer, but who.

Helpful Melina gives Emi advice, she would go with the biological parent.

Arious scenes, Maximax crew at work with Prisa, Nazario and GGibron directing the kids, Valerio in bed, Circe frowning, Valerio getting drugs at work. And lastly, Aide packing for Emi, Bill comes to get him and both Tino and Aide are sad as they leave.

The owner is putting Serena out of the apartment because she mad a couple of changes. I didn’t understand what changes.

Aide and Tino are talking. Tino says if Emi decides to remain with Bill it will be her fault for encouraging the relationship.

Hernan says there’s nothing hidden on Uli’s computer. Melina is going to sell the necklace on the internet. They’re going to use Maximax to launder the money. They’ll need an accomplice.

The singing is going. Nazario gives Gibron feedback. He then says he’s a good businessman and mentions Columbia. When Gibron questions that we get the it’s a joke.

Melina comes into sympathize with Aide. She tells her she wants to help her. Aide suggests looking for a place for her and Íker to live. Melina thinks Aide is not easy to manipulate.

Tino talks to Emi. Then Aidé comes in wanting to talk. But Paulina interrupts wanting to see Emi. When told he’s not there she says they’re going to lose him like they lost Lila.

Serena is leaving but Cheno needs her to sing her song. He asks her to move in, he gives various reasons but ends with Te año. Chachto wants her to move in too.

Valerio wants Circe to come to the club, she has to study but agrees to go.

Aide is yelling at Paulina who now says she’ll go to the authorities because they were in charge of Lily and they don’t know where she is.

Thanks for asking about my health. It’s been a rough year and on Friday I had a small stroke while at my daughters. I spent 3 days in the hospital and am home and hade two doctor appointments here. I knew nothing about strokes but they ran all kinds of tests in the hospital. Apparently it’s important to find a cause and they didn’t find one. So today I was fitted with a heart monitor to see if there’s something that happens occasionally. I don’t know what they call it. And I’ll need physical therapy too. 2026 has got to be an improvement over this year!

Liz, I am so sorry to hear of your health issues. I am relieved though that you are out of the hospital and are home.

I can only imagine how difficult it is not to find the cause of what is transpiring. It must be very frustrating. It sounds as though you are receiving good care though. I am a huge proponent of physical therapy and hope that greatly aids in your recovery. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

The recap was excellent. I laughed at "Helpful Melina gives Emi advice, she would go with the biological parent". You definitely have her number :) She is contemptuous.

Speaking of odious, "Paulina is complimenting Bill on his good acting. He tells her he has strong feelings for Emi. She wants the three of them to go on the trip. He tells her no. She’s sure they’ll be a great family". Huh? Who is she trying to kid? Frankly, I'm in the dark as to why she and Bill are still talking. What does she want? It's certainly not Emi.

"Tino says if Emi decides to remain with Bill it will be her fault for encouraging the relationship". Aide just can't win can she? She looks so unhappy, my heart goes out to her. Granted things have been hard for Tino but he needs to own his resentment toward Bill and work toward overcoming it.

Valerio became (even more of) a loser quite quickly.

I wonder if we have seen Uli's secret admirer?

MONTEVERDE #19 Part 1

Manuel asks a desperate Nestor what is wrong. Rosalia, at a booth in the restaurant within hearing distance, listens as Nestor confesses the truth; Eva left town to be with him and he doesn’t know how Oscar will take it. (Is he kidding??? Even I have a clue!)

Oscar is my good friend Nestor muses (some friend I huff). Manuel doesn’t think he fits that definition.

Rosalia goes to Lucas’ and tells him he must keep the secret she just heard: Nestor and Eva were amantes! Impossible Lucas yells, Oscar and Nestor were good friends. It’s true she tells him as he gets increasingly aggravated. Lucas wants to go tell Franco; Rosalia holds him back. Their argument continues until Franco and Julieta arrive. They are leaving for their trip tomorrow.

The detective has no good news for Carlos. I believe they feel the key to finding Carolina is her sister.

Carolina tells Juanita how angry Oscar was when Eva returned. Juanita knows something and Carolina stares, forcing it out of her. Eva left Oscar, for another man! Carolina stares agape; it is Nestor!! When Moises and Andres arrive, she asks Moises why he is there. “My father” he answers, Franco’s mother is back. He needs her to intervene. He stares at her with a sweet, pleading expression.

There are loud knocks on the padre’s door. It’s Nestor darkening the door. He starts in and the Father has to tell him Eva is right here. He comes in and they exchange pleasantries, talking civilly. He moves closer saying she has been gone for years. Did she say she was in a relationship that didn’t work out? He seems to indicate he cares but I can’t translate. He wishes her luck repairing her relationship with Franco. “Perdonne mi” music plays as he leaves. It seems they did not part on bad terms. Hmmm.

Manuel looks quite dapper in his navy suit, white shirt and blue tie…

Franco paces as thick as a brick Julieta asks him if he is all right. He wants to be alone.

Oscar is in his room when Carolina enters. He screams at her to get out! She retreats, eyes reflecting her hurt…

Gloria is Manuel’s special dinner date. He pulls out her chair and gives her “a flower for a flower”. La Reina of his heart… “Buenos noches” Hugo the waiter declares (I wondered why he seemed to be getting dressed up too earlier). Gloria and Manuel click glasses and toast. Then a mariachi band is at the door. Gloria, flower behind her ear and Manuel dance to the sweet but quite off-key music. Gloria finally gives them a bit of the side eye but keeps dancing and is a good sport.

Oscar is very nasty to Carolina (again) and her eyes appear to well up with tears. Moises was outside the door and the poor child heard everything. She reassures the child things will be better and takes his hand. She tucks him in and smiles sweetly.

MONTEVERDE #19 Part 2

“Father Gabriel” Franco calls out as he enters the house. He turns and sees Eva and asks what she is doing there. He berates her for what she did to Oscar. You left Oscar, the best father in the world, alone. They are both in tears, he chastising her for her abandonment with another man. He calls her on all the years she has been gone. She asks for forgiveness and for another chance, please Franco. She says how difficult things have been for her. More abandonment accusations fly as Father Gabriel appears. Franco storms out and Eva dissolves in tears as the Father hugs her.

Sister Celeste goes to a hotel and registers under another name.

Angelina serves Juan David a meal but he isn’t happy. She asks what’s wrong and the answer is basically one word: Gloria. She thanks him for his patience. Gloria decides dinner and dancing are over and that it’s time to go. Her timing is terrible as Angelina and Juan David were just getting romantic when Gloria bursts into their bedroom (not even a knock!), ruining everything! Angelina can only tell Juan David she’s sorry.

Franco tells Julieta things went badly. She tries to hug him but his facial expression doesn’t change.

Angelina comes out in her bathrobe as Gloria swoons about Manuel. Are you accepting his proposal she hopefully asks? Gloria hasn’t quite decided. Angelina thinks Manuel is a catch. Gloria doesn’t want to be separated from her family and holds Gloria’s hand as Juan David glares from the bedroom.

There is loud snoring as Juan David covers his ears with a pillow. In fact, the next morning, we see he has ended up on the good padre’s couch. He and Eva formally meet. It all comes tumbling out how unhappy he is with Gloria there. Elsewhere, Angelina gets up and the other side of the bed is empty. She realizes he left and has a sad. Father Gabriel tries to tell him things will be better. It was a cute scene with the Father trying desperately to dispense some good advice.

Moises tells Franco his father isn’t happy because his (Franco’s) mother returned. Oscar arrives and he tells him he saw Eva, father and son hug. Oscar sits down and he and Moises have breakfast, trying to return to a sense of normalcy.

A distraught Angelina tells Gloria that Juan David left. Gloria gets the eggs and doesn’t look the least bit sympathetic.

Franco returns and tells Julieta he went to see his father. He still wants to take the trip. Are you sure she asks? Yes he answers looking anything but.

Lucas arrives at the doctora’s office and Lucia is also there. I don’t know what she said.

Juanita arrives at the restaurant and Hugo is there. She starts crying as he asks her what’s wrong. She is heartbroken because Andres is leaving. He takes her hand and comforts her, putting his hand on her cheek. He is sweet and kind but it is clear her heart is heavy.

Lucia, who finally woke up and smelled the coffee, arrives to see Franco. She is emotional and clearly a woman in love. She doesn’t want to ruin his relationship with Julieta, but she loves him!! She pours her heart out and begs him as he stares at her sadly.

Carolina shows up at Oscar’s, he apologizes for his behavior.” Oscar” she says removing her habit revealing her shiny and luxurious dark hair. I can’t translate what she said. All I can add is that the depths of her feelings are clearly evident as she kisses him passionately.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Néstor knows that Oscar is going to hate him when he finds out the truth. Manuel tells Néstor that evidently Eva came back to town to make things right and to do that, she will have to end up telling Oscar that she left because she was in love with him. Néstor tries to minimize it all by saying "But it happened so long ago . . ." Manuel reminds him how painful it has been for Oscar and Franco all this time. Néstor is afraid of losing his best friend Oscar. Manuel says he should have thought about that before he got involved with his wife. Again, Néstor tries to lessen his transgression by saying "We were young and went with what we were feeling." Manuel understands that hormones are hormones BUT your friend's' wife is UNTOUCHABLE!" Finally, Néstor agrees. Manuel (sounding more like the good father) tells Néstor that the time has come to face the mistakes from his past.

Néstor asks Eva if she is planning on telling Oscar about their relationship. She says of course not. She came for Franco. She met a man while she was in Barcelona and ended up in a relationship with him. Unfortunately, he died. Several weeks went by and she realized she had no reason to stay in Spain so she decided to return to get her son back. Néstor regrets that their relationship didn't survive. She feels that they let themselves get carried away by teh adrenaline of their forbidden mutual attraction and thought they were made for each other but they were wrong. You cannot sustain a relationship that is only based on passion. Néstor disagrees. He felt something much deeper for her than mere passion. He loved her like he had never loved anyone. She thought the same but it didn't turn out that way so that is why she walked away. She refuses to discuss what they had anymore. Now it is all about her son nothing else. If he continues to press the issue of their past, she will have to ask him to leave. He wishes her luck with Franco and says she can count on him if she needs anything. His home and heart will always be open to her. She thanks him and smiles.

Manuel is all ready to court Gloria. Women like to feel important and special . Yes, Hugo has everything prepared. The group was supposed to be a trio but one of the guys was sick.

Manuel tells Gloria how happy he is that she decided to stay in Monteverde. He is going be sure she doesn't regret that decision and treat her like the queen she is!

Franco tells his mother Eva how he wondered what he did to make her leave blaming himself. Not even animals abandon their offspring. She admits she left with another man but now that isn't important.

Celeste Robles is now Celestina Rodríguez at the hotel.

Angelina and Juan David call each other "pajarito" little bird.

The good father wants to hear all about Gloria snoring like a rhino! Juan David tells him and says he knows that love is costly but this is too much. The good father tells Juan David that he has to just "suck it up" in a variety of ways: Life is tough/ For a good marriage, you have to learn how to give in/He is going to have to learn how to put up with his mother-in-law and that's all. There is NO other way. He has to endure it!! Eva asks the (best) question: How did his mother-in-law move in with them anyway??? He answers that she just did. Eva remarks that is typical of mother-in--laws!!! Not knowing what else to say, the good father tells him to have a cup of coffee and to go home to be with his wife. It is where he should be!!

Oscar doesn't react to Franco telling him that he saw his mother but rather tells him to have a good trip and to let him know when he gets to his destination.
 

MONTEVERDE EXTRAS parte 2

Lucía finds out from Lucas that Franco and Julieta are leaving today. Rosalía tells Lucía that if she were in her place she would do whatever she had to prevent Franco from going off with Julieta. The trip could make her lose him forever. It is now or never to tell him how she feels. She needs to wake up!!

Lucía tells Franco that when she was in Los Cabos all she could do was think of him. He is the reason she came back to Monteverde. She asks him to not go on his trip. She begs him to stay with her.

Carolina came to see Oscar one last time. She takes off her veil and says she is not a nun.He doesn't get it. Yes, she is a nun but whenever she is near him, she turns into a woman who feels attracted to him, who desires him, who wants to be at his side. That is why she is there. She is there to say goodbye to what she feels for him. He doesn't want to hear that with how he feels about her. She emphasizes that they can never have anything together. That is what she came to tell him. From tomorrow on, he is going to find her attitude to be radically changed. What they have has to end but before tomorrow . . . she has to . . . and she kisses him.

I’m wondering if Uli’s secret girlfriend is Melina. She wanted him out of the house, and I’m sure he doesn’t trust her. Although how he could have no idea who sent Bill a text to meet Aide after he walked in on Melina sitting at his mom’s computer. Also, Paulina is after Jason’s money, in his will he wanted Tino to get it for Emi’s care. That’s why she looked up Bill. She wants Jason’s money. I also wonder what Gibron’s plan is. He’s after Nazario and I hope he gets him.

I dare say that Eva and Néstor deserve each other. Néstor tried to wheedle out of any responsibility of cheating with his best friend's wife any way that he could in his conversation with Manuel and was ready to start up again with Eva as soon as he spoke with her. After hearing Eva a couple of times now, it seems that the only reason she is here looking for her son is because her partner in Spain died. So, she didn't want to be alone is her excuse for reappearing? It doesn't make sense so I hope they haven't given her a terminal disease to make her more sympathetic. Just saying . . .

I want to see "Franco of the furrowed brow" smile at least once.

I loved the dinner date with the dinner with the entertainment minus one as well as the good father telling Juan David what's what.

Can't wait until tonight.

"Franco tells his mother Eva how he wondered what he did to make her leave blaming himself. Not even animals abandon their offspring" was heartbreaking. No matter how old the child, abandonment of a beloved parent remains, choking the heart and clouding the mind.

How selfish Eva is! I completely agree that it seems she is only seeking Franco out as her partner died. All those years she was silent. I believe wholeheartedly in forgiveness but in this case, it will take the kindest of hearts to do so. That said, I believe Franco will. That said, I fear he is going to stay with Julieta. A wrong decision for the right reason - loyalty, which he was never shown by his mother.

Gloria steals every scene she is in. Such ego, such verve. Cynthia Klitbo is fabulous.

While I wish Carolina had told Oscar the truth, the reappearance of Eva and the simmering secret of Nestor are more than enough for Oscar to try and handle at the moment.

Usually a breakup involves her woman throwing the ring away(in telenovela land). So if he dies you leave the ring with the ashes! I would have worn it on my right hand. She loved him, why get rid of the ring!

I liked that Lorena was the one to bring Leonardo down. I’m going to miss this show.
