Papas
I’m just getting ready to watch Papas but I thought I should let you know that my siblings and a couple of their family are coming in Wednesday through Sunday. I won’t be able to watch Papas while they’re here. I’m going to try to watch the three I miss before next Monday’s show but I won’t have time to recap. I can probably write of anything big that happens, but I’m not very fast at recapping.

Papas #63 part 1
Four years ago is when the split happened. I couldn’t figure out where Lila was going but Tino said Berta would go with her so she wouldn’t be alone. Tino said this was the convinent thing to do, and Lila wondered convenient for who, Aide? Lila might as well leave, no one would miss her.
Today, Tino is trying to talk to Lila. It seems she’s been gone 3 years. She doesn’t want to hear what Tino has to say, or Pauline. Tino says Bill is using her to get even with him and Aide. She tells both Barney’s to leave, and Bill echoes her feelings.
Facundo and Checo are talking in the park.Facundo says it’s been difficult since he got out. He asks if Checo works in the park. Checo tells him this is where his photography show was a year ago. And the tragedy happened to his mother a year ago. Facundo tells him how nice is mother was to him when he went through his trouble. Checo tells him how hard it still is and Facundo tells him to always keep her in his heart. Facundo thinks back to walking with Lichita in the park. She is talking about not having a job. She wonders if El Chacal is still bothering him. He tells her he wants him to help with a robbery. Lichita wants him to denounce El Chacal but he says the police are on his side. Lichita says there must be some honest cops. His phone beeps. El Chacal has sent a picture he just took of the two of them. He says do the job or it will be Lichita that pays. He looks around. Back in the present he says he can’t hide it anymore. I thought he said from Lichita, but I think it must be about Lichita. So he knows what happened.
El Chacal is talking on the phone with his partner. He thinks it’s time to after Melina, that snake, and Hernan. The partner says the higher ups donywant anything done yet. He tells the partner to keep him posted, and when he hangs up he says justice will be at his own hands.
Paulina is yelling at Tino, wondering what awful thing he did to their daughter. He tells her he has always taken care of,his kids, and there’s a denouncement against her for kidnapping Emi. She storms off and Tino gets a text from Aide, who says Paulina just sent her a strange text about Lila. He’ll explain when he gets home.
Wmi and Scarlet are talking about how strange Iker’s been when he walks up. They ask him about it, they wonder if it’s because his parents separated. I woman walks up to,them,and tells him his,mother is waiting for him.
Aide can’t believe what Bill is doing. She also worries that Lila will tell him what happened. She was worried about Melina knowing. If the kids and others learn it will be horrible. She also mentions Tino looks pale, he blames it on being upset about Bill. Then Aide begins having trouble like she used to.
Melina tells Íker he has to act depressed, sad, tell Tino his grades are going down. He asks why and she says so Tino will come back to the,. It’s part of her plan. Íker tells her he’s not going to do it. She says he doesn’t know what,she’s capable of. He says what, telling him Tino is his dad and it’s really Hernan.
At the gym Cheno is worried about Chofis. Serena says she’ll talk to her, she feels their relationship is improving. Cheno feels she seems down.She says Melina keeps telling her everything’s fine, but her numbers are down, she may not make it as an influencer. Heno wants to work with Melina, Serena says she’s leaving for good soon.

Papas #63 part 2
Íker tells his mom she lied about Tino being his dad. She says Hernan must have told him. She wants to know where he saw Hernan. She thinks back to when she found him with Gisela and Aurelio at the hospital. He admits that’s where he saw Hernan. She tells him if Tino finds out he’ll loose everything, Tino and his family. She’ll take him far away.
The doctor blames Aides attack on stress. She must,rest and not leave the house. . Gisela says she and Tino will make sure she does. She walks the doctor out and Aide says she’s worried about Uli. Then they talk about how they can help Lila. They’re worried about the secret getting out. Tino thinks Melina’s been too calm. Aide says he and Íker should move back in. He thanks her and says he can work on proving Uli is innocent and can also try to help Lila.
Bill wants to talk to Lila. She doesn’t want to now, she just had the confrontation with her parents. He wants to know what happened between her parents and her. He says he loves her and he can be the one that helps her.
The families are in court. Rudolf explains how they became the biological parents and the twins are best friends and Natalia is a big help with Pipe’s condition. Nazario leaps up once but the judge quickly gets him back in his seat. Clara Luz mentions the call of the blood.
Gisela asks Tino what’s upset Aide so much.He tells her about Lila and Bill. She has a few words to say about Bill and feels Tino ahould get Lila. He’d like to, but she’s an adult and can make her own decisions. He tells her Aide asked Iker and he to move back in. He’s surprised when she says welcome. She says she was hard on him but always knew he was a good person. They both were fooled by Melina and Hernan.
The doctor leaning over Hernan is El Chacal.
It seems that Lila has told Bill the secret. He asks how he can help her. He asks if her siblings know. She says in the end, they are her parents.
As Melina listens behind a curtain, Hernan tells El Chacal he tried to find him before the accident. MElina cheated the, both. She has all the money. He tells him Melina’s address. El Chacal starts to put something in the bag with a needle, but sees a couple of doctors and leaves.
In court Nazario says Natalia has always known them as her parents. Rudolf points out Nazario was denounced for abusing Pipe. He says if Natalia is with them she would have security and also the money Silvame left Pipe. With Nazario, they couldn’t be sure the money would be used for the children.

MONTEVERDE #50, Part 1 of 3
Oscar calls Lucas back; he has the lab results! It’s a boy!! Oscar steps up to Lucas and embraces him in a bear hug. We are father and son Oscar says, Lucas looking as though he is still in shock. “You are mi hijo Lucas” Oscar says, smiling broadly.
“What is it” Carolina snaps at Carlos as they meet in the courtyard. As they argue and he mocks her as “mother Celeste” and threats of jail are made. He grabs her as Rosalia looks on from the shadows. He threatens to take Andres away. Rosalia stares quizzically.
Later Carolina complains to Andres about Carlos. He gets upset, defending his father; Carolina tries in vain to tell the boy he is manipulating him.
Lucas walks up to a fountain and smiles exclaiming to himself that “I found my father”.
Gloria comes into the restaurant and Doris decides to lay it on thick, eating a tuna croquette flirting away with Manuel. Gloria comes over and says she and “Don Manuel” are getting married as he leans on the bar toward Doris. The little ruse works as Gloria grabs her purse and heads out.
Lucas comes into Rosalia’s and tells her the news. Oscar Leon is your father she asks. “Yes!” is the joyous reply as they hug each other; she is really happy he found his father. They start to kiss but she pulls away. She smiles.
Moises is playing with Griselda when Oscar comes in, asking if he has seen Franco.
Rosalia confronts Carolina saying she saw her arguing with Carlos. Carolina tries to brush it off but Rosalia shakes her head saying it was clear he was furious. Carolina can’t talk her way out of it, Rosalia seems to know what she saw.
“Good morning son” Oscar greets Franco. Franco is not too amenable to the discussion sniffing that he knows Oscar went into Zacatillo with Lucas. Oscar doesn’t mince words and tells him that he did and that Lucas is his son and Lucas’ brother.
Rosalia comes downstairs and one of the women tells her that Nestor has left town, with Eva. Rosalia obviously had absolutely didn’t know and looked devastated. With tears in her eyes, she beats a hasty retreat.
Oscar tells Franco about his past with Lucas’ mother. He saw her picture and immediately recognized her, which is why he and Lucas went for the DNA test. “No, no” Franco angrily spits out in denial; says angrily Lucas is not your son. Moises comes out asking what all the fuss is about.

MONTEVERDE #50, Part 2 of 3
Rosalia confronts Franco about Nestor going to Zacatillo. Yes, it’s true he confirms and apologizes saying he can’t talk now. Rosalia calls Nestor but gets his voice mail.
Oscar (in a roundabout way) tries to tell Moises the story about Lucas. The little lad quickly guesses and says their family is complete! (Love Moises). He thinks Lucas and Franco are good friends. Oscar cautions him not to say anything; his stare and words are quite serious.
Rosalia leaves Lucia a voice message as to Lucas’ newly discovered father and brother. Lucia immediately calls Franco but gets his voice mail.
Jealous and vindictive Gloria comes back into the restaurant. There is a pepper shaker on the table which inspires her to commit mischief and make Doris pay. She takes a half a dozen liquor bottles down from the shelf and starts shaking pepper into them, smiling deviously.
Juan David tells Gloria he has to go out. She complains he is leaving her alone; he retorts she can see her mother. Nopis, she wants to go with him. He tries the “you’re pregnant” argument but it’s not cutting any mustard. He says he and Hugo need to go as she calls him by his full name showing she is serious. He leaves as she gives him the evil eye.
Before Gloria can put away all the bottles, Manuel arrives; he sees them on the bar but doesn’t look particularly suspicious. Manuel lies and says Doris is a free woman as Gloria makes a face having inhaled all that pepper. 😊He smiles as she leaves.
Angelina goes to see Father Gabriel complaining that Juan David is going to Zacatillo under some pretext. She says he is the only person he can trust.
Carolina and Moises arrive as Oscar’s as Andres greets them. Moises immediately spills the tea as Carolina stares.
Manuel serves Carlos as he asks about Hugo. After Hugo tells Manuel that Carlos is not a good person although he doesn’t provide specifics. Manuel raises his eyebrows.
Franco is pitching hay when Lucas shows up. I’m busy Franco says abruptly. Lucas is happy they are brothers but Franco cruelly rebuffs him, telling him that in his eyes, Lucas does not exist. He stalks off as Lucas looks hurt.
Moises makes it clear he isn’t interested in the history lesson being taught. He yawns loudly and is rude. Carolina asks Andres to leave them alone. What is it. He complains she isn’t a good person and flinches when she tries to pinch his cheek. He stands with his arms folded as she talks about Oscar. She makes a sad face and they hug. Amigos she asks. Amigos he says. There were a few more things said I couldn’t translate but at the end she did say something would be their secret.

MONTEVERDE #50, Part 3 of 3
Franco (his shirt unbuttoned down to his waist) listens to Lucia’s message. He calls her back but the scene fades out.
Manuel and Doris laugh at having put one over on Gloria when she returns, provoking an argument with Doris. A man arrives who I believe is a restaurant critic. Barwoman Doris engages him in conversation and it appears he is going to be back that evening. Doris and Manuel are ecstatic but Gloria isn’t smiling. Hugo looks nervous in the background. Manuel enthusiastically discusses the menu he will prepare including flan for dessert. Uh oh…
Moises brings Carolina into Oscar’s office. He stares but is civil. Carolina tells him she knows about Lucas. I can’t translate what he says other than they are not friends, it’s impossible. She looks cut to the quick and leaves. She talks to Moises after and gives him a kiss on the head.
Moises tells his father Carolina is concerned about him. He says something that makes Oscar get up and leave.
Hugo comes into Juan David and Angelina’s workplace clearly uncomfortable. After they go outside, Hugo tells Juan David he has a big gig that evening! Father Gabriel asks where they are going; I’m not sure what the answer is but I think Father Gabriel is going with them (?) Hugo seems to have some plan as he runs off.
“Hemana Celeste” Oscar says having chased her down in his car. He asks her to forgive him, saying she is his amiga. I love you she says. Then why he asks, taking her hands a puzzled expression on his face. He asks why they can’t be happy. A car horn honks and Carlos drives up! He and Oscar glare at each other. Carlos insists on taking her and picks up her bicycle. Oscar grabs Carolina and asks what is up with Carlos.
Lucia and Diego are doing some window shopping when she listens to Franco’s voice mail saying Lucas is his brother. Diego comes out and seeing her expression asks if she is all right. She admits that Franco is going through a very difficult time. I believe Diego asks Lucia if she wants to return to Monteverde.
In the last scene, after Oscar leaves, Carlos holds up his ring finger yelling that they are married. When Carolina brings up papers Carlos insists she is his wife. He starts manhandling her as Rosalia rushes up and pushes him away!
My biggest fear is that Juan David’s seemingly flourishing career will come to an abrupt halt without us getting to see a show!!
Why do I have a feeling that the critics’ dining experience at Manuel’s is going to be a disaster??? I can’t wait to see what happens.
I half expected Carlos, knowing that Carolina and Oscar are in love was going to tell Oscar he is Carolina’s husband. Although Oscar didn’t find out the truth tonight, I have a feeling the walls are going to cave in soon.

Father Gabriel asks where they are going; I’m not sure what the answer is but I think Father Gabriel is going with them (?) Hugo seems to have some plan as he runs off.
“Hemana Celeste” Oscar says having chased her down in his car. He asks her to forgive him, saying she is his amiga. I love you she says. Then why he asks, taking her hands a puzzled expression on his face. He asks why they can’t be happy. A car horn honks and Carlos drives up! He and Oscar glare at each other. Carlos insists on taking her and picks up her bicycle. Oscar grabs Carolina and asks what is up with Carlos.
Lucia and Diego are doing some window shopping when she listens to Franco’s voice mail saying Lucas is his brother. Diego comes out and seeing her expression asks if she is all right. She admits that Franco is going through a very difficult time. I believe Diego asks Lucia if she wants to return to Monteverde.
In the last scene, after Oscar leaves, Carlos holds up his ring finger yelling that they are married. When Carolina brings up papers Carlos insists she is his wife. He starts manhandling her as Rosalia rushes up and pushes him away!
My biggest fear is that Juan David’s seemingly flourishing career will come to an abrupt halt without us getting to see a show!!
Why do I have a feeling that the critics’ dining experience at Manuel’s is going to be a disaster??? I can’t wait to see what happens.
I half expected Carlos, knowing that Carolina and Oscar are in love was going to tell Oscar he is Carolina’s husband. Although Oscar didn’t find out the truth tonight, I have a feeling the walls are going to cave in soon.

Papas #63 part 3
Our 4 detectives are at the coffee shop trying to think how to prove Uli’s innocence. Lila comes up and says she needs to talk to Circe and Uli.
In court the judge says she has all the information she needs to make a decision. Amarion wants to say something. The judge says he already had his chance but then says if he really wants to say something…he does. He stands up, dragging Prisma with him. He says they love each other and are married, unlike Eudolf and Clara Luz, Rudolf and Clara Luz get up, Rudolf says they’re getting married very soon.
The three youngest are leaving school. Scarlet gets a text from Facundo and Íker asks if that’s who texted. She tells him not to say it loudly, she doesn’t want Emi to know. Meanwhile El Chacal was watching. Aurelio appears to get them but then Bill shows up and wants to talk to Emi.
Lila tells Circe and Uli she’s dating Bill. They think it’s horrible. He dated her mother and then their mother. He’s her boss. And what will Emi think. She makes them promise not to tell Emi. Ir e wonders how she could do this to Aide.Lila says with what Aide did to her she’s not worried about doing this to Aide.As she walks away Circe wonders what Aide did.Uli doesn’t know.
Bill tells Emi he wants to give him his last name. Wmi isn’t interested. Bill says it could help him and keep him safe, Emi says Paulina wasn’t the best mother but he doesn’t want,anything bad to happen to her. Bill says he has something important to tell Emi but he’ll wait,
Rudolf reminds Clara Luz of when he once proposed and she wasn’t interested in marriage.She asks how the app is going. He’s going to meet someone in person. He suggests she date Martin but then says he’s gay. He suggests a dating app for her.She tells him if they’re supposed to be a happy couple he better not run into anyone while on a date.
Serena tells Poncho he seems nervous, she wonders if it’s the Olympics.He says yes, and leaves to go to the bathroom, taking his copmputer. She talks to Chofis,trying to fix things between Chofis and Cheno. Chofis says she and Serena are getting along peacefully with each other.
Gisela is telling the kids Aide can’t get out of bed for a while. Íker gets up to clear the table and Gisela questions him on what Hernan told him. He talks to her without looking her in the eye so she knows he’s lying.
Rudolf is ready for his date. He tells Clara Luz she’s the best ex. Pipe wakes up and wonders where his dad is. She tells him he had to go to work. She decides to get on a dating app using a different identity.
Rudolf and his date are talking about songs. Nazario takes a picture of them.
A couple of masked men are in a house, maybe Melina’s.

As Melina was at Hernan's bedside and saw everything El Chacal did, I think she was smart enough not to be home in her bed. I do worry though about who it was El Chacal did shoot.
I really can't imagine what Aide and/or Tino did that turned Lila against her and her family! Does anyone have any ideas??

Thanks Diana, thanks, I figured they wouldn’t kill off Melina, but they definitely killed someone. Did Melina trick someone to sleep in her bed. And is it someone we know? She and El Chacal are cold blooded killers. I can’t believe she just recently changed, as Iker said.
I’m pretty sure Lichita died at his hand. Part of me hopes she’s alive somewhere but it seems doubtful. And soon Scarlet will be in danger.
Nazario must have followed Rudolf. Not sure why he suspects him of anything, but Rudolf was foolish to risk the kids for a date.
I can’t figure out what Tino and Aide did, but since they’re worried about it getting out it must be bad. And now Bill knows, and I have mixed feelings about him. I also wonder about Jason’s money. Tino doesn’t seem to know about it.
I just saw this morning that Papas wasn’t airing Thursday. I had a meeting last night and just wanted to do the recap and go to bed. So I never read the heading. After hearing Lucas' concerns that Franco will not be happy to know they are brothers, his father tells him not to worry and that the fact they are brothers will go beyond any resentment he may feel towards him. Lucas doesn't know about that.
Carlos accuses Carolina of poisoning his son's mind against him as well as making him fear going anywhere with him. He will not allow that. She doubts has plans of staying in Monteverde enjoying all of the money he stole. She adds that she will not allow him to separate her from Andrés for any reason. He argues that his son is better off with him not stuck in this lousy town incommunicado with the real world in the middle of nowhere with his beloved Sister Celeste giving him classes. He tells her not to be selfish. What does is she intending to do? She answers only to prove her innocence and for him to go to jail. He grabs her arm and Rosalía sees it. He informs her that his son will be sleeping with him in his room tonight. He isn't asking. He will pick him up at eight. She tells him to go ahead and try because her son isn't sleeping anywhere except at the inn with her.
Andrés tells Carolina that his father never talks badly about her, why cannot she do the same?
Gloria asks Doris how can she talk like that with Manuel since she is a married woman. Doris says the fact that she is married doesn't have anything to do with the affection she feels for Manuel.
Rosalía is concerned that Carlos was attacking Celeste. Carolina tries to make light of it saying she misinterpreted the situation. Rosalía doesn't agree. The man was furious and him forcefully grabbing her arm like he did is not right. She cannot allow herself to be disrespected like that. Carolina answers of course not. Rosalía says that if she needs help, she is there for her.
Moisés cannot wait until he can give Lucas a strong hug as his brother!! Oscar says Moisés cannot mention this to anyone because Franco didn't take the news very well. Moisés doesn't get it. He would be so happy if he found out that Andrés was his brother. That gives Oscar something to think about.
Angelina isn't buying Juan David's shaky story about going to Zacatillo with Hugo for merchandise. If he is lying to her, she will never forgive him. He answers he is only going to Zacatillo to work.

Gloria explains her presence to Manuel as after having seen the state of the bar, she had to clean it up. Manuel says they were very busy last night. Since Doris has appeared on the scene, people are there all the time to try her cocktails. They didn't get to bed until two in the morning. She asks if "they" means he and Doris. He clarifies it by saying no they did't' sleep together. Doris is a married woman. Gloria wonders what Cárcamo has to say about him carrying on a libertine relationship with his wife. Manuel smiles broadly answering that Cárcamo is a very modern man who allows his wife to be a free woman. Gloria is disappointed in Manuel. She never thought he was a dirty old man. He warns her not to disrespect him. She tells him to behave himself then.He reminds her that she has no right to be there blaming him for anything. He only had eyes for her but it was she who had to go ahead and make things hard. So, he has to continue on with his life and start to love those who unleash his inner bull!! Gloria only came by for a coffee. She cannot take anymore and leaves. Manuel is left grinning ear to ear.
The good father assures Angelina he will investigate the situation with Juan David. He only asks for her patience. She is grateful.
Moisés is still upset that Carolina doesn't love his godfather. He cannot love anyone that doesn't love his godfather. She explains that his godfather is one of the people she loves the most in the world but she cannot be at his side. She explains that she made a commitment that she has to fulfill but that doesn't mean that she doesn't love him or his godfather. Sadly, she cannot change anything about that at this time. She starts to cry. He asks her not to because she is making him cry, too. They hug and all is well. He also tells her that his godfather told him that he hoped that Sister Celeste would come by and chat with him. He asks her not to tell his godfather that he told her so he doesn't hang him by his ears. She promises she won't tell on him. It is their secret.
Jaime Aramburu, a journalist arrives, at the restaurant. He works for the most prestigious newspaper in Zacatillo. Jaime explains they are writing a tourist guide to the best restaurants in the region. Everyone says Manuel's is one of those. Doris chimes sin saying it cleary is and that the drinks they serve are spectacular. He says that if it is okay by them, Tito Meza, a great food critic, will come by to taste their food tonight. Hugo asks if it has to be tonight. Manuel happily accepts the offer and tells Jaime that they will be there waiting for Tito with open arms. They shake on it. Hugo wants to do it tomorrow because he has an appointment tonight. Manuel tells him to forget about that and assures Jaime that they will be ready for Tito tonight! Gloria thinks they should change their "bar woman" for tonight. She could make them look bad. Doris tells her to respect her. Manuel cuts the argument off. It is not the time to argue! They have to get ready for tonight. He sends Hugo off to buy supplies. He is planning a great salad, a chicken and potato soup and coconut flan for dessert. Doris grabs his hand, for Gloria's benefit, and tells him he cannot forget the tuna croquettes, the specialty of the house!!! He loves the idea. What would he do without her? They share the laugh as Gloria glares on. After Manuel leaves. Gloria knowingly smirks at Doris.

Moisés asks Oscar why he is being such a fool. the nun came to see him because she was worried about him and he treated her badly. Oscar tells him that is none of his concern. Moisés says she came by to see how he was after finding out about Lucas. She was so sad when she left on her bike. Oscar asks if she really was sad? Moisés says she was trying not to cry. Moisés reminds him that he taught him not to treat people like that especially if you love them.
Moisés is triumphant seeing Oscar leaving to find Carolina≥
Before Carolina leaves with Carlos, Oscar asks why is she so afraid of that man. She only says they will see each other later.
Suddenly, the good father is going with them to Zacatillo even though he thinks that Hugo and Juan David are lying about something. He is going with them to see another priest at 7:00 if they are leaving at 6:00. Juan David wants Hugo to call Violeta so he can cancel for tonight. Hugo tells him no way. He needs the money. What to do then?? Out of nowhere, Hugo has come up with a plan! He will tell Juan David later.
Franco also tells Lucía tha he loves her like he has never loved anyone before.
Diego suspects that the fact thatFranco is having a bad time is the reason she as been out of it all day. She explains that even though they are no longer together, she still is worried that he is okay. She tells Diego it is nothing for hi to be concerned about Diego doesn't think it is very healthy that she continues to be in contact with Franco. She agrees but Monteverde is a very small town.
He asks her if she has considered leaving Monteverde.
Carolina tells Carlos that he cannot keep popping up as if he were her husband. He reminds her he still is. He doesn't remember signing any divorce papers. She reminds him that everyone in town thinks she is a nun. He reminds her again that she isn't a nun but his wife. He is upset about her meetings with Oscar. He roughly grabs her and asks what is going on with that guy? Enter Rosalía. How can he treat Sister Celeste like that???

Before Carolina leaves with Carlos, Oscar asks why is she so afraid of that man. She only says they will see each other later.
Suddenly, the good father is going with them to Zacatillo even though he thinks that Hugo and Juan David are lying about something. He is going with them to see another priest at 7:00 if they are leaving at 6:00. Juan David wants Hugo to call Violeta so he can cancel for tonight. Hugo tells him no way. He needs the money. What to do then?? Out of nowhere, Hugo has come up with a plan! He will tell Juan David later.
Franco also tells Lucía tha he loves her like he has never loved anyone before.
Diego suspects that the fact thatFranco is having a bad time is the reason she as been out of it all day. She explains that even though they are no longer together, she still is worried that he is okay. She tells Diego it is nothing for hi to be concerned about Diego doesn't think it is very healthy that she continues to be in contact with Franco. She agrees but Monteverde is a very small town.
He asks her if she has considered leaving Monteverde.
Carolina tells Carlos that he cannot keep popping up as if he were her husband. He reminds her he still is. He doesn't remember signing any divorce papers. She reminds him that everyone in town thinks she is a nun. He reminds her again that she isn't a nun but his wife. He is upset about her meetings with Oscar. He roughly grabs her and asks what is going on with that guy? Enter Rosalía. How can he treat Sister Celeste like that???
MONTEVERDE
Diana, ITA that Néstor was cruel in not telling Rosalía that he was leaving town but that is who he is and she has to recognize it already. So far, he has given her no affection unless trapped into doing so.
So much good humor in this one with Gloria/Doris/Manuel in particular.

I felt sorry for Andrés being pressured by Carolina about not being with his father even though she is right. She needs to back off even if it means losing him to Carlos. She is not winning that fight and ruining her own relationship with him.

I wish I could remember how the first season ended. I remember that Jason left Pauline stranded somewhere when be found out what a liar she was and had no love for her kids . I don't remember anything bad happening between Lila and Tino or Aide. She and Circe didn't get along at the beginning , but they seemed okay at the end . I think she was jealous of the attention that Emi got .

Papas #69 part 1
Serena is putting on social media the most important thing is to be authentic and honest. To live with serenity. As she talks Jeni walks by. She wonders what’s happening.
El Chacal is weird. He is yelling at Melina as he shoots her. He’s asking her questions and she has bullets in her back. He asks were her son is. He goes to the body and looks strange, then flees.
The younger kids want to know what’s going on. If the other kids no they should too. Gisela says some secrets shouldn’t be shared with everyone. Melina walks in agreeing with her. Tino wonders why she’s there. She was working at Maximax and and came to see her son. She asks if that’s so strange. Íker cringes at her touch. Good old Gisela says it’s strange when a child wants to leave his mother and live with his father.
A detective and a doctor are at the crime scene. The detective feels it was a crime of passion because of the bullets and the close range. He asks the doctor(coroner) to turn the body and it’s Paulina.
Melina is saying it’s good to see her son happy. If he wants to live with his dad after years of not having him, she’s fine with that. She’s not egotistical. As she rubs Iker’s hair she says she wants to visit with her son and she’s sure he wants to see her, right Iker. He says sure, looking miserable. She tells everyone to go on with their conversation, Gisela was saying you may want to share something but you can’t always tell everyone. Melina adds a secret can change a family’s destiny. She wonders why they’re all so quiet, is it because she’s there? We see a scene from hours earlier when Melina pretends to have gotten the wrong room number and the receptionist gives her the room number. She looks ready to take Herman out but sees a doctor and gets behind the curtain. We see the scene where the doctor is El Chacal again.
We then see Melina meeting with Paulina. Paulina is broke and there’s a denouncement on her. Melina has a solution. Hide out in my apartment. She can only go see Hernan at night so she doesn’t run into his family. Paulina needs to pretend she’s Melina and go to sleep because Tino is bringing Iker to the apartment. Paulina is confused and hesitant. Melina tells her she knows the secret and will tell her. Paulina finally gives in.
Back at the dinner table telling them she’s leaving Maximax She and Íker will be going to another town. She has to arrange a video call with Urbano and Aide. She tells Tino she won’t hide Iker from him, this is after Tino says they have to talk. She mentions Paulina is desperate and asked to stay at Melina’s apartment.
Back to Rudolf. His date is telling him after three years alone she’s finally found someone she’s comfortable with. She asks how long he’s been alone. He says a little while, then he gets a text from his ex, his son misses him and can’t sleep. She asks if it’s his son or his ex that can’t sleep. Clara Luz is sending him mimes and stickers. He is laughing then asks her, where were we, you were telling me how marvelous I am. She says she better go so he can read his messages.
Back at dinner, Melina says bye with blowing kisses. She hopes Aide will feel better in a few days so she can personally say by. Gisela and Tino both say they can handle it. Tino gets a call. It’s the detective on Paulina’s phone. He wants to know his relationship with her, then tells him she’s been killed. Paulina has Iker and wants to know what Hernan told him. Scarlet grabs him to do something.
Hernan tells a nurse he doesn’t feel well yet. She says he’ll soon be at 100%. He thinks El Chacal probably killed Melina and he’ll never see the money she made at Maximax.

Melina asks Tino if that was Paulina. He says it was a detective using her phone. She was shot in Melina’s apartment. Melina is suitably shocked. He’s going to the station to learn more. Melina needs to go with him, a killer in her apartment.
Clara Luz is looking at a picture of Rudolf on her phone when he comes home. She leaps to the sofa and is meditating. He tells her his date was very good looking but abandoned him. She went to the bathroom and he waited two hours. His phone goes off, another match, she sounds perfect-his future novia.
Melina and Tino are at the the police station. Rino comes out and tells Paulina it’s Paulina. After a few words of sympathy she starts in on how it happened in her apartment. He’s trying to calm her down when the detective comes out. They’re exploring options but think it’s a crime of vengeance. Paulina tells Rino she has to stay at his house, she’s sure ElChacal is after her. The detective wants to know what kind of relationship she had with this delinquent.
El Chacal is looking on his phone for news of Melina’s death. He’s upset that he acted too hasty and doesn’t know where the money is. He shows his partner a picture of Scarlet, his plan B. I caybelieve he didn’t realize it wasn’t Melina.
Poncho gets up in the middle of the night and knocks on the bathroom door for Jeni. He wants her to take a pregnancy test. She says she’s nauseous and vomiting, she knows she’s pregnant. Poncho wants her to take the test, she’ll do it in a few days. He asks her what they’re going to do. She says she’s going to sleep.
Yea for Tino. He brought Eli a to a hotel. She says her life is in danger, she needs to be at his house, at least for one night. He says he’s not going to bring her to their house, he refuses to let her be there. He mentions she told him El Chacal was a policeman. She said that’s what Hernan told her. He tells her she’ll be safe and leaves.
Uli and Circe wonder why he left with Melina and got back so late. He tells them and Gisela that someone killed Paulina. Emi comes in and wants to know what’s going on. Rino goes to him and tells him his mom died.
At Maximax Serena is looking at the skimpy swimsuits Melina wants her to wear. Serena feels her numbers go down with this new image. And she’s too old to dress like this. Melina tells her she’s an inspiration for other women. She calls Nazario in, he mentions he has to go soon for the court hearing.
Emi wants to know how she died, Tino says he doesn’t have all the details yet. The kids are saying they’re sorry. Gisela tells Tino he should tell Emi what happened but Tino says it’s not the right time. Emi wants to see Lila. Rino will take them. Gisela will watch Aide and Alexander. Aurelio says he’ll put the kids in a taxi as Tino will need the car.

Tino has told Lila.She’s trying not to cry. She says Paulina was never a mother to her, she was never there for her. Emi tells her it’s still ok to cry.
Circe and Uli both agree it was very strange that Paulina was in Melina’s apartment. And just when someone came in to kill her. They feel Melina will make up some story to explain it. Circe says
Checo and Chofis will be talking to the doctor that treated Melina. They knock on Aide’s door to talk to her.
Chofis and Checo ask a nurse if they can see the doctor. She thinks they’re someone else that’s going to denounce him. They say they just want to talk to him.She says she doesn’t know his location, he apparently wasn’t really a doctor.
Tino tells the kids he’ll be there for them. Emi thought she was changing. Tino tells them both to remember the good times. Emi asks Lila if she’ll visit him at the house. She will.
Nazario, Melina and Serena are looking at photos of Serena. Melina goes to check her messages. Nazario tells Serena not to give his woman ideas, it will get very ugly for her. He leaves and Melina comes in. Serena says those pictures aren’t her. She’s not going to do it. Melina says they have a contract. Serena says she never agreed to pose in skimpy swimsuits, she tells Melina to do what she wants, but she’s done.
Facundo is texting Scarlet. He wants to meet her at the shopping center near her school. He reminds her the texts and meeting are their secret. She doesn’t know, she feels she should tell her mother. He says he’ll bring her home and talk to Aide and Tino. She agrees to meet him. Íker comes in and wonders about her long face. She tells him, then wonders how she’ll get there. She calls for her grandmother and asks Gisela if she’ll go to the shopping center with her. Gisela has stuff to do but can’t turn down going there.
Serena has gifts for the family, even though she quit her job. Cheno is the only one not happy with his gift. When all the kids leave he says something about Jeni. I think he wonders why Serena bought her a gift.
Nazario actually whistles to the judge as she is speaking of a stable home for Natalia. He says he and his wife have a steady loving relationship but Eudolf and Clara Luz’s plans are a farce. He shows the picture of Rudolf and a woman on the phone.
Cheno is mad that Serena bought Jeni a gift. He says when he bought Poncho a laptop he was told that was wrong of him. Serena leaves but comes back when she hears Cheno. Heilooking at a video of Serena. She says she didn’t give permission for those to be used. Cheno heads out to talk to Melina
Scarlet tells Gisela who she’s meeting. Gisela is fine with that, she asks when he first contacted her.
Uli and Chofis are talking. The delinquent doctor was a contact of Melina’s, so was Hernan and El Chacal. They’re sure Melina is also a delinquent.They need to find out who Melina really is.
Serena is doing her social media talk from the beginning of the show. Jeni walks in with two policemen. She’s being charged with a very serious crime, money laundering.
Scarlet and Gisela are in the underground parking garage. Gisela doesn’t understand why she’s meeting him here. Scarlet says he doesn’t want to be recognized so can’t appear in public.

She calls for her grandmother and asks Gisela if she’ll go to the shopping center with her. Gisela has stuff to do but can’t turn down going there.
Serena has gifts for the family, even though she quit her job. Cheno is the only one not happy with his gift. When all the kids leave he says something about Jeni. I think he wonders why Serena bought her a gift.
Nazario actually whistles to the judge as she is speaking of a stable home for Natalia. He says he and his wife have a steady loving relationship but Eudolf and Clara Luz’s plans are a farce. He shows the picture of Rudolf and a woman on the phone.
Cheno is mad that Serena bought Jeni a gift. He says when he bought Poncho a laptop he was told that was wrong of him. Serena leaves but comes back when she hears Cheno. Heilooking at a video of Serena. She says she didn’t give permission for those to be used. Cheno heads out to talk to Melina
Scarlet tells Gisela who she’s meeting. Gisela is fine with that, she asks when he first contacted her.
Uli and Chofis are talking. The delinquent doctor was a contact of Melina’s, so was Hernan and El Chacal. They’re sure Melina is also a delinquent.They need to find out who Melina really is.
Serena is doing her social media talk from the beginning of the show. Jeni walks in with two policemen. She’s being charged with a very serious crime, money laundering.
Scarlet and Gisela are in the underground parking garage. Gisela doesn’t understand why she’s meeting him here. Scarlet says he doesn’t want to be recognized so can’t appear in public.

MONTEVERDE #51, Part 1 of 3
Rosalia is reaming Carlos out for treating Sister Celeste so poorly! Carlos is contemptuous and barely acknowledges her, asserting that it’s none of her concern. Rosalia then asks Carolina if she all right and after she says she is, Rosalia goes inside. After another exchange, Carlos tells Carolina to go inside and get Andres. When she goes inside Rosalia keeps questioning her (I did not understand Carolina’s response). Carolina goes upstairs and gets Andres, giving him strict instructions. His bag is packed and she hugs him goodbye grimacing.
Diego seems to be extolling the virtues of Zacatillo, saying Lucia could get an apartment there. Lucia seems far from convinced.
Moises is calling Lucas his brother much to the confusion of the other ranch hands. Oscar announces Lucas is his son and the men are surprised and tease Lucas a bit. After, Moises and Lucas high five.
Franco arrives and talks with Hugo, Hugo imparting the news about the food critic coming tonight. Franco tells Hugo that Oscar saw the pictures of Lucas’ mother and long story short, Oscar is Lucas’ father. Hugo is happy Lucas is his brother. “No, my only brother is Moises” Franco says angrily before stomping away.
At the restaurant, Gloria is arranging flowers as Hugo comes in with the provisions Manuel asked for. Hugo says he can’t work that night. Manuel kind of shrugs him off as Hugo follows him.
Lucas visits Oscar in his office. They discuss Franco’s reluctance to accept him. Oscar wants to give him his name, Lucas León. A bit hesitatingly, Lucas finally says esta bien, gracias.
Manuel is all on edge for the great visit. Gloria is in a lovely print silky looking dress. Manuel has a brown blazer and Doris, a beige flowing blazer over a dark dress. Juanita is in a pretty black dress with opalescent polka dots, Hugo in an inexplicable black and white plaid blazer. They finally arrive! Jaime the journalist, escorts Tito Meza the food critic into the restaurant. After introductions, Gloria runs over and introduces herself, pushing Doris out of the way as the photographer takes the picture.
You and Franco are hermanos Julieta muses, stating the obvious. You are the son of Oscar Leon she effuses. It occurred to her instantly that his status in life has changed. As dollar signs no doubt dance in her head, she declares oh so innocently that she is only thinking of her hijo. Lucas is contemptuous and gets up and leaves. She huffs as she rubs her stomach.
Hugo serves Tito the soup as Manuel stares nervously.

MONTEVERDE #51, Part 2 of 3
Moises and Franco go to the dining room and see an extra place setting. As they try and process this startling occurrence, there is a knock on the door and it’s Lucas. Moises welcomes him, Franco does not. Lucas leaves as Moises lightly punches Franco in the stomach as Oscar looks sad and angry.
Ahh, but Father Gabriel hasn’t left; he is still there and follows Hugo and Juan David.
Oscar tries to convince Franco to change his mind about Lucas, reminding him he and Lucas were the best of friends. Moises (the little sweetheart) sticks up for Lucas. Oscar reads Franco the riot act.
Rosalia meets Lucas in the streets. He explains he went to his patron’s house, you mean your father’s house Rosalia interjects. It didn’t go well he says evenly so he is going home. She suggests coffee but he explains the restaurant is tied up and Julieta is at his house. They decide to go back to the inn.
Oh my, Father Gabriel is now outside the Yellow Submarine, and there is a line of excited women waiting to get in. A car drives up and a bride and her entourage alight and enter the premises. The father starts to go in but the bouncer holds him back. The father is righteously indignant, calling his being refused entrance discrimination! The bouncer merely shakes his head.
The critic proclaims the soup “superb” much to Manuel’s delight. Juanita removes his plate and Manuel, his wine. Gloria and Doris exchanges insults under their breath. Doris brings Tito a cocktail which he swallow in one gulp. All of a sudden, he clutches his throat! A doctor is going to be called but all of a sudden, he says a doctor isn’t necessary. It was spicy but he loved it! Doris immediately realizes what happened and turns angrily toward Gloria. The two go at it like wild cats, choking each other. Jaime quickly escorts Tito out as Manuel collapses in a chair, crying. He is devastated. Juanita comforts him, giving Gloria and Doris a furious look. Manuel seems broken. Even though Doris apologizes quickly followed by Gloria, he is livid and orders them both to leave.
Back at the inn, Rosalia and Lucas talk. He is happy to have found his father. Rosalia then tells him Nestor left and never even said goodbye. Lucas is immediately angry, calling Nestor an idiot. He leans forward to kiss Rosalia but when she says no, he starts to get up but she stops him by grabbing and kissing him. The subject of Julieta comes up (doesn’t it always) and she mentions the flowers Julieta picked. Lucas tells her she is the only one, they deserve a chance to be happy. On that note, he leaves.
Carlos is on the floor doing pushups as Andres encourages him from the bed. He tries to question his son but Andres is tight lipped, giving little away. Sly Carlos tells him to confide in him. He asks if his mother is interested in Oscar Leon. After first saying no, Andres finally admits “si” but only after more badgering. Carlos thanks him for confiding in him. “Maldita” Carlos mutters, clearly jealous and angry.
Father Gabriel is hiding behind a car at the strip joint and he pushes it to get the lights flashing, sounding an alarm. When the bouncer leaves his post to check it out, the sly rascal sneaks into the club.

FINALLY – the show!! Once inside, the audience is clapping wildly as we see Juan David in his “working” clothes (sparkling hat, mask, jeans, plaid shirt and neckerchief) takes the stage. As blue spotlights flash, he stars his signature moves, gyrating on the floor posturing and posing. He unbuttons his shirt and takes it off, twirling it in circles as he throws it off the stage. Next, he removes the neckerchief. With one fell swoop, his pants are unbuttoned leaving him wearing only his leopard boxers. He is on his knees as he throws his hat into the audience. The good padre’s eyes literally bulge out of his head. Unfortunately, the show is unmercifully cut short as Father Gabriel runs up to the stage and starts yelling at Juan David as he literally pulls him off! The owner is upset and angrily asks him what he is doing. Holding Juan David’s ear, head lolling to the side, he drags him away from the stage. Just then Hugo comes in and pulls Juan David outside. As Father Gabriel scolds them Hugo tries to explain. “Vamanos” the Father declares as they walk away with him like chastised children.
In his room, Franco looks at a picture of him as a child and then one of he and Oscar riding horses. He sits on the bed and turns on the light. He takes out his memory box and goes through pictures including one of he and Lucas as children. His eyes moisten.
Angelina marches out of the house in her pajamas.
Juanita visits Carolina who shares her concerns about Andres. Juanita calms her down and says her hijo is fine. After Carolina leaves, Juanita, looking none too certain, turns and prays.
“Abuelo” Hugo greets Manuel as he returns. Manuel, his back to the door sadly admits the evening was a disaster. I think he chastised Hugo for not being there. Gloria and Doris got into a fight and the evening was ruined.
Elsewhere, a furious Father Gabriel dresses down Juan David who tries to explain that his show was “artistic”. 😊 All of a sudden, there is knocking and yelling. It’s Angelina asking about Juan David. Juan David, hiding around the corner makes noise and Angelina rounds the corner to see him clad only in his leopard print briefs. “Juan David” she exclaims, shocked. And there we end.
The show was far too short but was fun. I sadly fear this was likely Juan David’s swan song to the stage.
It appears as though Franco is softening…

Paulina's cold blooded killing was hard to watch. Such brutality. El Chacal is a monster. And insane to boot. I wonder how Melina intends to protect her son (if indeed she does). Looks as though he is preoccupied with Scarlet now, poor kid. I hope this storyline comes to a quick conclusion.
I hope Uli and Chofis make progress on finding out more about Melina before she does further harm.
I wonder if Lila will give her "romance" with Bill more thought now that her mother is dead.
Poor Serena! She never should have trusted Melina.
I hope the children aren't returned to Nazario (another monster) now that Rudolf's disasterous wading into the dating scene has gone public.

Domenica end of episode 28 to 30
This is gonna be fast and sloppy - it seems like I’m always on the verge of getting too far behind, so I want to catch up NOW!
I skimmed the rest of episode 28 and generally, it’s lather, rinse, repeat of Domenica trying convince Luis that she still loves him, and him not buying it.
Luis is so overwrought by the presence of his rival Max that he gets a gun and heads out to confront Max. Prudencio intercepts him and talks him down and gives him a bit of a fatherly lecture about how being drastic would mess things up forever. Luis appreciates it.
There’s this whole revealing scene with our love triangle of Blanca, Lawyer Friend (San Genis) and Cute Lawyer (Ernesto). Ernesto brings Blanca a gift of a Shakespeare book he got while in town, which she absolutely loves. She calls him her “hero.” Lawyer Friend is not to be outdone, and BSes her to make her think he has more in common with her and pretends to like the same stuff she likes. She doesn’t seem to see through him, but Cute Lawyer totally does. He confronts Lawyer Friend when Blanca isn’t there, calling him a “cínico” for being dishonest with Blanca. Lawyer Friend says, “Cínico, but not a loser.” Oh, go to the devil, Lawyer Friend, Blanca deserves someone who is the real deal, and that’s not you. I’m on team Cute Lawyer!
Max has a rental where he’s staying, and he and Kiara get busy with “cositas” (sex) because having sex with each other is totally how people devotedly in love with other people behave.
Pedro is out in el campo and sees Osvaldo following Max. Pedro looks curiously as he sees this in the distance.
Later Osvaldo is out en el campo with two buddies and they confront Pedro. Pedro isn’t afraid, but doesn’t want trouble. Three against one is BS. Osvaldo seems inclined to escalate things, but Luis interrupts them and kicks Osvaldo and his friends off of his land.
There’s this love triangle or love square thing going on between Pedro, Nieves, Prudencio’s granddaughter, and Silvi, Kiara’s friend. Nieves and granddaughter are bickering because Nieves now has some cleaning job at the community center. Silvi got a look at Pedro without his shirt on and is now all touchy-feely. Pedro seems more or less oblivious and a bit gormless.
We end the episode where Pedro and Luis are out in el campo (I think after Luis shooed away Osvaldo) and they hear gunshots. Turns out Genaro sharpshooted Max as he was standing by a tree (Genaro views Max as unwelcome competition for the heart of Domenica). Luis and Pedro find Max shot in the ribcage area and it looks bad!

Domenica episodes 28-30 part two
Fast recaps - I’m skimming over the episodes again to refresh my memory. Fair warning - sometimes there are scenes that completely escape me, the el campo slang or country expressions are too much, and I am lost. Please, anyone more fluent than me, please correct me or fill in the blanks! I won’t be offended!
We return to Max just being shot. Luis and Pedro come upon him, and he is still alive. The bullet went straight through and didn’t get any vital organs.
They schlep Max back to Luis’s place to recuperate, because of course he is the doctor. Long story short, Luis stays there for a while and is manipulative and smirks as he hears Luis and Domenica bicker.
Prudencio sticks his foot in his mouth and says in front of Luis and others that it’s ironic that not too long ago Luis wanted to do Max in, and look - he saved his life instead! Luis shoots him such an icy cold look and says “what possessed you to bring that up?”
Domenica, when she finds out Max is shot, runs over to see him. This just looks bad to Luis. He thinks she’s not over him. I won’t elaborate all the various scenes, bud she repeatedly tries to valiantly to clarify things, but he always interprets things wrongly. Every time you see a scene with Luis and Domenica, it is pretty much a variation on this same theme. He can’t bear to be witness to Max reconciling with Domenica while Max is under his roof. Of course Kiara encourages him to believe that Domenica taking back Max is a real possibility.
Tia also tries to convince Domenica that she still has feelings for Max. Domenica keeps insisting that no, it’s Luis she wants, that she’s never felt anything so strong for anyone else, but everyone, including Luis, hastens to tell her that she’s wrong.
Osvaldo somehow guesses that Genaro probably shot Max and spontaneously gives him an alibi. Gabriel, his dad, connects the dots. (I assume this based on Gabriel’s expression.) Gabriel and Cosme had previously had a conversation where they voiced concerns over Genaro’s hotheadedness and how they don’t want his reckless behavior attracting attention with the state police.
Earlier, Genaro happened to walk by Max’s rental and saw Max and Kiara together (this might have been before Max was shot?). In any case, Genaro knows what’s going on and threatens Kiara with a gun.
When Max had recovered enough to return to his rental place, Genaro is waiting for him, admits that he shot Max, and offers him a deal. Genaro is resigned to maybe not getting his “potranca” Domenica, so if Max gets her, Genaro wants her hacienda. Max accepts that deal.
There are some crooked business dealings that honestly, left me confused. Things between Gabriel, Cosme, and Genaro. Whole scenes where I just couldn’t follow (and I use the Spanish subtitles). Forgive me!
For some reason Genaro, who is Osvaldo’s godfather, wants to show him the ropes working at Domenica’s hacienda. She is skeptical, says if Osvaldo messes up, out he goes, and so does Genaro! This unsettles Genaro, to have lost her confidence.
Pedro wants to go back working on the hacienda. He semi-sorta is getting friendlier with his half brother Luis, but he’d rather work for Domenica. She offers him a “co-foreman” job, or being a second foreman. Genaro doesn’t like this but of course accepts it. Osvaldo is very upset, he wasn’t expecting to work under Pedro!
There’s some dramatic scene between Gabriel and Osvaldo. Gabriel doesn’t want Osvaldo under the supervision of Genaro, and Osvaldo doesn’t know why. Osvaldo eventually says something about how he admires Genaro more than his dad. Gabriel slaps him and draws blood. Osvaldo is very angry - dad never hit him before and it’ll be the last time!
Fast recaps - I’m skimming over the episodes again to refresh my memory. Fair warning - sometimes there are scenes that completely escape me, the el campo slang or country expressions are too much, and I am lost. Please, anyone more fluent than me, please correct me or fill in the blanks! I won’t be offended!
We return to Max just being shot. Luis and Pedro come upon him, and he is still alive. The bullet went straight through and didn’t get any vital organs.
They schlep Max back to Luis’s place to recuperate, because of course he is the doctor. Long story short, Luis stays there for a while and is manipulative and smirks as he hears Luis and Domenica bicker.
Prudencio sticks his foot in his mouth and says in front of Luis and others that it’s ironic that not too long ago Luis wanted to do Max in, and look - he saved his life instead! Luis shoots him such an icy cold look and says “what possessed you to bring that up?”
Domenica, when she finds out Max is shot, runs over to see him. This just looks bad to Luis. He thinks she’s not over him. I won’t elaborate all the various scenes, bud she repeatedly tries to valiantly to clarify things, but he always interprets things wrongly. Domenica ep 28-30 part three of three
San Genis (Lawyer Friend) visits crooked but hot jeweler, who gives him a fake receipt and fake name for the buyer of the incriminating engagement ring found when Luis’s baby was killed.
Max tells Luis and everyone else his yarn about him leaving Domenica at the altar because the mob was threatening her, yadda yadda. He claims he “saved her life.” He tells a very fleshed out version of this same story when Cosme, the law authority in town, asks questions as part of a crime investigation. Max say that he thinks the mob tracked him down out there in el campo and shot him.
I thought that this was all fiction, but I guessed it’s based on some truth, because Max calls a socio in crime to talk about how he thinks some scammers they (Max and socio) scammed are the ones who took a shot at him. (This I think he assumed before Genaro confessed to Max that he was the shooter.) Oh, and Max discovers a photo of Mercedes in Luis’s house, knows she’s the lady that he scammed (that is wants her money back).
We end episode 30 with Max visiting Mercedes in her house, to offer to pay her back if she drops charges. She’s not having it, she wants to call the police, and they have a scuffle.

Addendum: Gabriel’s wife (can’t remember her name) wants to get a makeover, inside and out, and be more confident. Blanca and Maria (the daughter) encourage her in this.
Cosme’s wife is shimmying up to Gabriel in private - they had a thing in the past (I assume while they were both married to others) and she wants to reignite that, but he’s not interested.

Domenica addendum 2: When Max was first recovering from the gunshot wound at Luis’s place, he was feverish and talking in his sleep. Domenica overhears him say that “she made me do it.” This puzzles her.
Adelaida (or however you spell it), Prudencio’s granddaughter works part time at the community center to get more money. Nieves assigns her work and has her scrubbing the floor. Prudencio thinks that is “beneath” her because cooking is a little higher status in his mind. Granddaughter doesn’t care, work is work.
There’s a fresh-faced youthful employee who is probably going to be Adelaida’s future love interest. He’s cute and seems really stuck in her, and is finally starting to get a bit of her attention.

Anonymous, your English is absolutely fine! Better than my Spanish! Please believe me when I tell you that. I know where you’re coming from - I sometimes practice my Spanish on Spanish forums and always apologize too, and people tell me they understand me. I need to believe them, and so should you!
I’m still enjoying this story, but yeah, I guess they feel they must follow the original story and have to have our couple stay separated needlessly through a series of tonterias. Otherwise, everyone would get things settled too quickly and there would only be ten episodes, and where’s the fun in that?
