#46 part 1

Cihan signs the divorce petition. Alya leaves, Cihan follows her out. Mine looked pleased at first then not so pleased when Cihan leaves with Alya.

CihAl walk through the street. They argue. She needs to find a lawyer. He will take her to one. She says she’ll take care of it, he should stay with Mine.
Alya is expecting a quicky divorce after one hearing but Cihan dashes her hopes. Just because he signed the paper doesn’t mean he will agree to the divorce in court. That paper means nothing. Alya is so furious that she rips up the document and throws it on the ground.

Alya says she will leave with Deniz after the divorce. She’s ready to play Cihan’s game of will she go and will he try to stop her. He reminds her their agreement is to stay married until Deniz turns 18. She says he hasn’t complied with their agreement and adds if he tries to stop her, she will accept Sada’s offer.

What offer? Alya tells him Sada offered her a konak. Cihan is pissed. He forbids her from leaving the konak and worse—from leaving her room! We’ll see about that, Alya exclaims and starts walking again. He tries to stop her from getting into a cab but she gets in and goes.

Cihan informs Erol about Alya’s divorce plans. He tells Erol to make sure no lawyer will take Alya’s case. Erol mocks but Cihan says make it happen.
Mine calls Cihan while she’s driving. She says she never pressured Alya to divorce. He tells her he’s not getting divorced.

Alya passes a law office and asks the driver to stop. When the lawyer finds out she’s married to Cihan Albora he hesitates. Then he gets a call from Erol –don’t take Alya’s case. The lawyer makes an excuse for not taking the case and Alya understands what’s going on.

Cihan comes home and goes straight to Sada. He rips into her for bargaining with Alya. Nare and Kaya enter the room. Cihan proclaims he’s not getting a divorce. A divorce? Sada says this happened because Alya found out about “that woman”. Ummu passes by and hears this. Sada tells Cihan that he will divorce. Don’t get your hopes up, he replies. And he won’t let Alya and Deniz leave the konak.

Sada blames this situation on Cihan. He wants Sada to back off and threatens to give Alya the passports so she can leave with Deniz.

Nare and Kaya speak to Cihan about the divorce. Alya arrives. She tells them that Cihan has threatened lawyers not to take the case. Cihan asks to speak privately with Alya.

Alya wants to take the passports to the bank for safe keeping. She will not be stopped from leaving. He says he will stop her. This keeps going back and forth. They are both very stubborn.

Sada asks to speak with Alya. She tells Alya she did the right thing. Alya says not so quick, your son doesn’t want a divorce. If you remain firm, Sada replies, he will have no choice. She offers to find a lawyer for Alya.
Alya sets Sada straight. She doesn’t want to divorce to get a konak. She doesn’t want to be married to Cihan any longer. She could rent her own home if she wanted. But when she gets divorced, she’s leaving with her son.
Sada says it’s a shame that Alya still doesn’t understand. Deniz is not leaving.

Alya nods. Okay, I’ll rent an apartment. My son and I will stay at the konak on weekdays and at my apartment on weekends. I don’t want property from you. Sada agrees and asks, what about a lawyer? Alya says she’ll handle that, too. Nare walks in. Sada tells her not to talk Alya out of divorcing.

#46 part 2

So the first thing Nare says to Alya is—don’t do this. Alya replies, this was a mistake from the beginning, I can’t take it anymore. Nare says that Cihan was going to leave Mine. Then she asks, do you have feelings for my brother?

That’s absurd, Alya replies. I’m a woman, too, Nare says, I understand. You wouldn’t have acted this way because of Mine. Alya is not admitting anything. I don’t feel anything for your brother. Are you sure, Nare asks. Alya says she’s sure but doesn’t look it. Nare asks, what if he has feelings for you?

Alya answers, just because that’s what you want, doesn’t make it true. He has a lover. Nare asks, if he didn’t? Nothing would change, Alya says, I wanted a divorce from the beginning. I reacted to Mine because I didn’t want to be an obstacle. You all misinterpreted it. I need to find a good lawyer who isn’t afraid of your brother.

Hasan wants to start shipments again. Cihan says he’ll consider it and asks Hasan to give him a minute to speak with Erol and Kaya. Cihan asks Erol about Sahin. Erol’s been in touch with Sahin’s lawyer. They want to go with self-defense and if they could find a recording, it would be easy. [We know Demir has that recording.]

Kadir comes to tell Cihan they have Sedat. Kaya is ready to go but Cihan shouts at him to stay.

Fidan visits Ecmel. He wants to tell Sahin about Demir and Zerrin but he doesn’t want him to find out that Demir is blackmailing them with the recording. Sahin enters the visitation area. Ecmel tells Sahin he’s worried that Sedat will send someone to stab him.

Sahin asks why Zerrin didn’t come. Fidan says she’s ashamed because she’s the reason you’re in jail. Ecmel tells Sahin she burned you and herself. But Demir took responsibility. Sahin isn’t happy to hear this. Your sister was kidnapped, Ecmel snaps back, should I put out an announcement? Demir proposed. May Allah bless him a thousand times!

What nonsense, Sahin answers, isn’t there anyone else? Zerrin will not accept this. What else can we do, Fidan says, the whole world knows she was kidnapped. No man will want her. Ecmel says, we already work with Demir. He will also be our groom, inshallah. The girl was kidnapped. I can’t lift my head from the ground. I can’t show my face in public. [guess he means the prison population.] Sahin wants to speak with Zerrin.

Somehow, Nare has turned the convo to Sahin. Alya tells her don’t worry, even though your families are enemies, you know you remain in Sahin’s heart. He hasn’t given up on Cihan or Kaya and they will do anything for Sahin. Things will go back to where they were. At least, that’s what I want. Nare hugs Alya.

Cihan arrives to the spot where his men are holding Sedat. He puts his gun to the top of Sedat’s head. You will not come near Kaya… and you won’t touch Sahin. You will accept the kan parası I offered for your father. If you do these things, you will live… if you don’t…

Cihan fires his gun close to Sedat’s ear. Sedat holds his ear in pain. Cihan tells Sedat to raise his head. He points to his gun. This will be the last sound you hear. Think about it. Ask your elders if necessary. Cihan walks back to the car but Kadir stays behind and gives Sedat the death stare before leaving.

#46 part 3

Cihan and crew leave and like the proverbial bad penny, Demir shows up. He laughs, it’s a good offer, no? Sedat answers back, these people killed my father. How much is his life worth?

Demir knows that Mahmut’s life can’t be paid with money. My friend Mahmut was a great man. But something good came out of it. You became the leader of the aşiret (tribe) now, didn’t you? Things like that don’t happen at your age. Look at me. I’m still waiting for my father to die. Don’t waste your time. Take the kan parası and use it for your benefit. You’ll become the king of the aşiretler (tribes). But only if you don’t touch Sahin. If you don’t accept, I’ll stop supporting you. You’ll fall to Cihan.

Demir adds one more thing. I’m awaiting word on a marriage arrangement. If that woman accepts, we will sit down and sign an agreement. Sound good? Demir leaves.

Ummu gives Deniz a photo album to show to his mom. Alya says she can take a quick look before going to work. The album is full of happy times in Albora. Lots of pics of Deniz, Alya and Cihan together. The boy says, we look happy, don’t we? Alya is affected. Alya says she has to go. Deniz wants to continue looking at the photos.

Alya walks out and Ummu and Pakize see her leave. Ummu comments, that woman is paler than a ghost. Those pictures must have confused her. I’d bet on it. Sada walks by. What do you mean? What would you bet on? Ummu avoids answering.

Cihan shows up at Mine’s place. Can I come in? My door is always open for you, she replies. She looks hopeful. Cihan won’t let her take his coat. He wants nothing to drink. He asks her to sit next to him so they can talk.

Okay, but she has a question for him first. If you weren’t getting divorced, why did you sign the papers? She answers her own question. It’s because you were hurt. When Alya placed those papers in front of us, it hurt you. You were devastated, and so furious, that you signed the papers to hurt her back. Not only that, you knew it would work because you realized that you are not indifferent to her, right?

Cihan says that’s not true. Mine asks, then why did you sign? To give me false hope? To make a fool of me? He answers, I did it so she’d understand that despite that, we aren’t getting divorced. Mine is incredulous. She asked for a divorce. Why don’t you let her go?

Cihan clears his throat. Mine… we need to end this relationship.

And we are out.

lejos

Thanks, dondi. If those were merely notes, they were first rate!

It was kind of dumb for Cihan to sign the paper and immediately say he wasn't granting the divorce. And threatening to lock Alya in her room?

I know we can't expect logic in TNs or dizis but how could Erol know the exact impulse-purchase lawyer Alya saw from the taxi's window? Are all the taxis on Cihan's payroll?

I always let out a small cheer when Cihan goes after his mother. He really "got her goat" with saying he'd give Alya the passports and let her leave with Deniz if she didn't back off.

Alya is refusing to admit, apparently even to herself, that discovering Cihan's relationship with Mine hurt her. She keeps saying she's upset on Mine's behalf as, I suppose, a true feminist.

Demir carefully doesn't tell Sedat that the marriage he's working on is his own with Zerrin. It's hard to tell if Sedat really cares for Zerrin or just wanted her to stick it to Zaya.

I'm now used to the loyalty of female servants and henchmen in these dizis, but every time Sada demonstrates that she expects to even know what Ummu and Pakize are saying to each other I wonder why they stay.

#47 part 1

Mine… we need to end this relationship.

Mine tries to process what she just heard. She’s devastated. Cihan, are you getting rid of me after all this time, so she won’t leave you? Are you going to leave me? He explains, Alya was right. She was right when she told me this isn’t fair to you. Özür dilerim (I’m sorry). Mine replies, thank you, how nice to hear this from you. [maybe that’s partially true.] But the painful part is that she made you realize it.

Cihan continues, I should have ended this relationship from the first day I got married. Mine cries. No, she says, you should never have gotten married in the first place. He reminds her he explained this. I was forced to marry. You know this, you’ve always known. Now I’d like to be brief and clear.

Mine doesn’t want to hear any more. Cihan asks her to stay calm. While I’m married to Alya, this is how things should be. I don’t want problems and besides, you work in the same hospital as Alya, and she knows about us. The problems will never end. That’s why I’m ending this relationship.

Mine shakes her head, no, Cihan, stop. Please don’t do this. Don’t abandon me, she cries. Stop! She starts grabbing at him, pleading. I’m begging you… don’t do this to me! He asks her to listen. I have to end this. I’m not asking you. You have a daughter. Mine jumps up. Stop! I get it. I understand. I have a daughter. You don’t need to remind me!

Cihan says, nothing in this life is more important than you and your little one. Everything else comes second. None of it matters as much as your well-being and your daughter’s. Mine is pacing back and forth. She begs, please don’t do this, you’re making a mistake. How do you not see that Alya and you will never be together? Sooner or later, you will accept that divorce. When you do, you’ll come back to me. Don’t do this, don’t leave me. Cihan gets up. Mine continues begging. She hugs him. He tells her to let him go. He leaves her on the couch, sobbing.

Zerrin and Fidan eat dinner. Fidan tells Zerrin that she went to visit her father and brother this morning. Zerrin says she would have liked to go too. She asks, how is my brother? What do you think, Fidan replies. Your father is scared that something will happen to Sahin. Zerrin, do you want to save your brother? Zerrin doesn’t answer.

Fidan tells her they brought up Demir but didn’t do it to save her. You know, your brother is very emotional. Besides, he loves you very much. He’d do anything for you. He wants to speak with you.

Mine finds Alya in the hospital cafeteria. She wants to talk. Alya says she has to get back to work, but Mine says it won’t take long. I didn’t see you after this morning’s surprise. You called me and Cihan and put those divorce papers in front of him to sign. I’m sorry if I was the cause of that, Alya.

No reason to be sorry, Alya says, I did what I had to do, don’t feel bad. But Cihan backed out. He doesn’t want to get divorced. I know, Mine replies, he told me. Alya looks a bit surprised. Mine tells her Cihan was with her before she came here. They spoke. Okay, Alya says, I’m guessing he mentioned that he won’t let me hire a lawyer.

Mine nods yes. [We didn’t hear Cihan say that.] He doesn’t want to divorce you because it’s against Boran’s wishes. You know that, right? Alya mentions the usb Mine put in her bag. I did you a favor, Mine replies, I got you to discover everything. Look at it that way.

#47 part 2

Ugur enters the café without being noticed by either woman. He stands nearby. Mine continues, if Cihan doesn’t want to divorce you, it’s because Boran asked him to marry you. You know that, don’t you? Of course, Alya answers, why else would it be? But as a result, he doesn’t want a divorce. I understand how you’re feeling. After all, Cihan can’t stay in a relationship with you while we’re married.

Mine says yes, he said he wanted to end our relationship because it was unfair to me. But if you get divorced, then there won’t be a problem, will there? Alya responds, we will do it as soon as I find a lawyer. Don’t worry, I won’t come between you.

Ugur is picking all of this up and he’s very interested. Mine says, if you promise this remains between us, I can help you find a good lawyer. I know a good one. Alya is not receptive. Mine, you are Cihan’s lover, she replies, I can’t accept that. Is there anything else? No. Alya quickly leaves. Mine leaves. Neither woman spotted Ugur even though he was only steps away from them.

Cihan comes to the dinner table. Where are Alya and Deniz? They weren’t in the kitchen. Sada says that Deniz ate and went to his room. Alya isn’t here. Kaya tells him she’s working the night shift. Sada asks Cihan to sit and eat. He asks Ummu to leave for a few minutes. He addresses Sada, I meant every word about the konak. I swear if you do anything I disagree with, I’ll let the both of them leave.

Sada says, there’s no need. Alya said when she gets divorced, she’s going to find her own house. Cihan is surprised. Don’t look at me like this, Sada says. She said it herself, it’s her decision. She agreed to let my grandson stay here on weekdays and he’ll spend the weekends at her house. Let her go. Let her find a good lawyer and get divorced as soon as possible. Be done with it.

Cihan closes his eyes and sighs. Afiyet olsun. He walks. Sada calls out, you know it’s inevitable, don’t you? It’s best for this to end. Cihan sighs again and leaves the room.

Cihan enters the bedroom and notices Alya’s locket on the nightstand. He sees the opened photo album on the bed. He looks through the photos. He smiles. Slight edit here. He stops at the pic of him and Alya on horseback. He lingers and puts his fingers on it. He’s wistful. Then he gathers himself up and leaves the room.

Alya looks online for lawyers. Ugur knocks at her door. Can I come in? She apologizes to him for yesterday. She wonders why he’s there at this time. A patient needed an operation, he replies. Since I was still here, I wanted to check on you after yesterday. I was worried. Let’s say I’m fine, Alya answers.

Ugur says, maybe Cihan misunderstood, although I really don’t care what he thinks. I just don’t want you to feel bad. Seeing you like that would upset me. Alya looks a bit uncomfortable. Ugur continues, I believe you’re the real victim in all this. Alya looks down. Ugur asks, has anything happened after all this? No, Alya replies, it’s just complicated. He asks, is it overstepping to ask what your plans are now?

I decided to get divorced, Alya says. Ugur pretends to be surprised. He tells her he thinks it’s the best decision she could make. What does Cihan think? Alya says he doesn't want to get divorced. He tells her if she needs anything, he’s here for her. She says that she needs to find a good lawyer.

#47 part 3

Ugur says he’s got a good lawyer friend. Alya mentioned that Cihan has threatened all the lawyers not to take her case. Ugur says his lawyer comes from a very powerful family in Diyarbakir. And he’s influential in Midyat too. He won’t be scared off. Alya would like to meet him. Ugur happens to have his business card. Talat Hilmioglu. Ugur says he will speak with Talat first. Alya thanks Ugur.

Ugur gets up to leave and the door opens. It’s Cihan. He stares at Ugur. Alya asks Cihan if something happened. Cihan asks Ugur, what the hell are you doing here? Wasn’t I clear when I asked you to stay away from my wife? Alya wants to know why Cihan has come. He asks her to step outside. She doesn’t want to go. He pushes her out the door. She threatens to call security. He tells her to call an ambulance instead. He locks her out!

Cihan pushes Ugur. Son, what did I tell you? I told you to stay away from my wife. Ugur retorts, your wife who wants to divorce you? And you will help her get divorced quickly, Cihan snarks, what a helpful man you are. Why wouldn’t I help her, Ugur replies, you think I don’t know what you’re doing behind her back? You’re cheating on her.

What is my private life to you, Cihan asks, what the hell do you care? You’re acting like a caveman, Ugur notes, your wife wants a civilized divorce, which is her right. [I don’t care for Ugur, but he’s right to call Cihan a caveman.] You’re stopping her from finding a lawyer. I’m just trying to help her. I think you don’t understand, Cihan replies and gives Ugur a little push. Don’t mess with me. Don’t drive me crazy.

Ugur repeats that he’s just trying to help. Cihan gives him a big shove and Ugur falls against Alya’s desk. Things spill and Ugur hits the floor with a look of alarm. Cihan points in Ugur’s face. If I see you near my wife, you’ll never walk again. Is that clear? Ugur doesn’t answer.

Cihan opens the door and Alya rushes over to Ugur. Are you okay? Ugur says he’s fine. Cihan seconds that and grabs Alya’s coat and bag. Come on, let’s go, he says. Don’t worry about him. Cihan grabs Alya and drags her out of the office. Alya calls out to Ugur, I’ll have someone come and check you.

Cihan pulls Alya along. She protests—stop it! Let me go! We’re going to the konak, he says. What? But I’m working, she answers. He tells her the shift is over. Don’t treat me like this in front of others, she replies. He says she’s forcing him to do this. Alya passes someone and tells them to go to her office and check on Ugur. Cihan warns Alya, if you don’t cooperate, I’ll carry you out on my back and you’ll be embarrassed.

Alya and Cihan continue arguing outside. She wants to take her own car. Cihan tells Muzzafer to open his car door. Alya asks Muzzafer to get her car. Muzzafer opens Cihan’s car and asks Alya to please get in. She complies under protest. Cihan wants her locked in. They take off.

Kaya walks into sleeping Kadir’s bedroom. Kadir… Kadir… Kaya pokes him… Kadir. Kadir startles awake and pulls a gun on Kaya. What are you doing, Kaya exclaims, it’s me! Relax. Are you trying to get shot, Kadir asks. Get up, Kaya says, I want to talk about something. Kadir calls him crazy.

Kaya stares at him and Kadir catches on. He jumps out of bed. No… No… don’t look at me like that. This is about Zerrin, isn’t it? Kaya tells him to relax. Don’t tell me to relax, Kadir replies, I swore to your brother… Kadir goes to call Cihan. Kaya stops him and says Cihan isn’t even home.

#47 part 4

Kadir thinks Kaya is taking advantage of the situation to go see Zerrin. All I want is to talk to her on the phone, Kaya answers. Kadir says to leave him out of it. Kaya says he can’t call. Fidan would only answer the phone. And you want me to call her, Kadir asks. Kaya clicks no—Pakize. Pakize? Yes, Pakize.

I don’t know why they cut this. Kadir puts his coat over his gaffur pijaması and quietly sneaks into the kitchen, with Kaya behind him. He peeks around a corner and sees Ummu and Pakize are making börek. He gets excited. Kaya tells him to focus on the task at hand. Kadir wonders why Kaya can’t ask Pakize himself. Kaya doesn’t want to be misunderstood coming at this hour.

Kadir protests, but you wake me up in the middle of the night and I won’t be misunderstood? They’ll think you just want the pastry, Kaya answers, don’t make me crazy. Pakize sees Kadir. He smiles and waves at her. Kaya pushes him, why are you waving? Call her. Ha, Kadir blinks at her and motions with his finger to come. It looks kind of flirty. Pakize just stares but then she smiles and gets up… with a rolling pin in her hand.

Kaya runs and Kadir follows. Kaya hides around a corner and Pakize chases Kadir with the rolling pin. Damn you, Kadir! Why are you calling me in the middle of the night? She swats at him. Just listen, girl, he pleads. Kaya jumps out to save Kadir. I called you, Pakize. I need your help.

Zerrin’s phone rings and Fidan picks it up. Fidan asks, who is this? Zerrin looks and says she doesn't know. Fidan answers. Pakize says she’s Zerrin’s friend from school, Ceylan. Ceylan? Zerrin nods. Fidan asks if she knows what time it is. Yes, Pakize says, but she has my notes and we have a test. Can you give her the phone?

Fidan hands it over and Kaya takes the phone from Pakize. Zerrin? Ceylan? K: is your mother there? Z: mm-hmm. K: okay, just listen. I’m in a terrible situation. I don’t know how I can ever repay Sahin for what he did for me. But I can’t take it anymore. I can’t let you go. I haven’t sought you out because I’m waiting for Sahin to be released. Soon he will go free. They’ll see he isn’t guilty, just like I wasn’t. And when he’s free, I’ll come and ask him for your hand. He won’t refuse. Don’t worry, everything will be fine, Zerrin. Seni çok seviyorum.

Kaya gets emotional. I love you more than anything. Please don’t forget that. She answers, alright, Ceylan. I’ll get you those notes. Hadi, hoşçakal. Zerrin hands her mom the phone. Fidan tells her she can keep it. I’ll wake you up tomorrow to visit the prison.

ChiAl arrive home. Alya storms away from Cihan and into the bedroom. He follows. What are you doing, she shouts. Did you come from the forest? She throws a knickknack at him. You are from an ancient era! Is this how you understand? Is this the language you speak? You are a monster who is not part of civilized society!

Is that so, Cihan asks. Civilization can’t exist without monsters, can it Alya? She breaks something else. Okay, make fun of me. Maybe you will understand. He tells her to calm down. What the hell do you think you’re doing, she asks, why do you do this to me? You’re to blame for everything. She throws another item. Cihan gives her something else to break. Take it.

Alya has a better idea and goes to his room. She’s about to dump his desk and he grabs her. Hey! Hey! Don’t! They are face to face. [you’d expect this might lead to kiss, but this is a dizi and it’s only episode 17 so…] There’s a knock at the bedroom door. Cihan yells—who is it? It’s Sada.

lejos
#47 part 5

Sada asks, what’s going on with that woman. She’s yelling and breaking things. [she heard through those stone walls? Was she lurking right outside the door?] Cihan tells his mom to go to bed. Sada says to let Alya go once and for all. Cihan bids her goodnight and shuts the door. Sada looks pleased.

Cihan tells Alya she’ll wake Deniz. Alya is still furious. You can’t just show up at my job and drag me away because you feel like it! Why are you doing this? I don’t understand you, Cihan. I told you not to talk to that guy, but you didn’t listen. Why didn’t you obey? She counters, why do you care? He shouts, because you are my wife, Alya! Come to your senses or things will get worse.

Alya asks, are you threatening me? No, but I’ll make you regret it, Cihan replies, and he should learn his lesson. She says, a few more days and I will be free of you. Really, he asks, how? She tells him Ugur found a lawyer. Cihan says he knows that man’s intentions and she does too. Despite knowing that, you agreed to let him find a lawyer?

Alya says she had no choice and he won’t be able to stop her from hiring the lawyer. Please, Cihan, I don’t want to hate you. I thought you already hated me, he replies. Okay, I’ll see you in court. Bring a list of all the terrible things I’ve done to you and read it to the judge. Then we’ll see if we get divorced.

Deniz opens the bedroom door. Alya stops him from entering because of the broken glass on the floor. Deniz says he had a bad dream. He wants to sleep with her. Cihan picks him up and puts him on the bed. Deniz looks at the mess. What happened?

Cihan says he accidentally broke something. Deniz wants to stay. They put him in the bed. Deniz asks his mom to sleep with him. Alya says she has to do something first. Deniz asks his uncle to sleep with him until mom comes back. Cihan says not tonight. He starts to clean up the room. Alya tells him to leave it. She’ll do it. He continues. Gosh, now they argue about this too. Yeter!

Cihan asks Erol about Alya’s lawyer. Talat Hilmioglu from Diyarbakir. He’s a great divorce lawyer. He’s never lost a case. So I’m ruined, Cihan asks. Erol says he doesn’t handle divorces. Cihan doesn’t care because he’s not getting divorced. Erol warns this won’t be easy. If Alya uses Mine as a reason to divorce, then yes, you are ruined.

Alya meets with Talat. He knows this will be a contested divorce. Your reasons for divorcing need to be strong. Cases that end in divorce usually involve adultery or domestic violence. Have you suffered any violence? No. Has adultery been committed? Alya hesitates. She says she’d rather discuss this with Cihan as well.

Erol tells Cihan that Talat contacted him. Alya wants to see you. Cihan tells Erol to ask them to come.

Zerrin visits Sahin. She hugs her brother and apologizes. She cries. Don’t cry, he says, it’s okay. I should have listened to you, she tells him. To be honest, I don’t listen to myself either, he replies, don’t blame yourself. I should have stopped you, but I didn’t. it’s not your fault, Zerrin says, you did what you could to stop me from getting married. You even cooperated with that idiot Demir.

Demir… he’s proposed to you now, Sahin says. Zerrin nods. He asks, are our parents pressuring you? She says no, she has no choice. Sahin warns her not to make the same mistake. You’ve seen the consequences. [ay, please tell him.] Sahin figures they are pressuring her because of the kidnapping. She starts to tell him something. He asks, is there something I don’t know? [yes, yes!] Tell me. Ugh, she doesn’t tell him. Time’s up for the visit.

#47 part 6

Alya and Talat arrive at Albora Group. Erol greets them. Cihan makes them wait a bit. Cihan meets Talat. It’s frosty between Alya and Cihan. Talat starts, my client wants to file for divorce. Cihan says, tell me something I don’t know.

Talat says, Alya told me about your relationship with Mine Dogan. This would facilitate the divorce. But my client doesn’t want this sensitive matter brought up in court. Then what does she want, Cihan asks. Talat replies, if you accept the divorce, your relationship with Mine will not be mentioned.

And we are out.

Terrific recap, dondi! As usual you clarified many things. I enjoy the Turkish. As I mentioned before, I can set up my Reverso dictionary on my phone to Turkish to English and can look them up. Liked the Turkish for bon appetit as Cihan’s parting shot to his mother.

Cihan is very logical with Mine, but that’s not going to work on a woman who’s obsessed with you, Cihan. He said her child, of course, comes first. Nope, not for Mine.

I felt like screaming at Fidan’s horrible manipulation of her daughter. As it always seems, the male heir matters more. Fidan knows how Demir disgusts Zerrin, but she must climb into bed with him so Sahin can get out.

We got a Shakespearean villain's soliloquy from Demir a while ago about wanting to marry Zerrin. He seemed to be telling himself it was all about revenge on the Alboras. Well, the Cihan headed branch anyway. But we also saw a leer or two in Zerrin's direction. So, which is more important to him?

Mine tells Alya that Cihan doesn’t want a divorce because it’s Boran’s wish. Ah, Mine, it’s way more than that, and I think you know it deep down.

Wow! Ugur just stands there bold as brass listening to Alya and Mine’s conversation. I just can’t stand Ugur. “Is it overstepping?” You’re asking a married coworker about her personal life? Ya think? I do kind of think Ugur will back off a bit. He looked terrified when Cihan told him he wouldn’t walk again if he kept it up.

Muzaffer looked like he was tempted to disobey Cihan when he was trying to force Alya into the car. I think all the Albora staff like Allya.

Sigh. Sada thinks it’s OK to interrupt a marital spat.

I enjoyed your including the edit, dondi, where the ongoing, joking feud between Kadir and Pakize involves her picking up a rolling pin.

I have no idea what Cihan is going to do. Alya played her cards perfectly. She’s appealing to Cihan’s chivalrous nature to not have Mine outed in court.

Excellent, Dondi , and hugely appreciated!

Cihan’s behavior was appalling. That’s not how you break up with someone after 6 years! I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. He should have thanked her for the 6 years and told her she’s lovely and some uncommitted man would be so lucky to have her.

Then he forces himself into the conversation in Alya’s office, actually yanks her out of the room and then locks her out! Then gets violent with Ugur and finishes up by dragging Alya away, telling her her workday is over.

This is supposed to be our hero?

Maggie
