The Great Escape
Celeste tells Carolina that she has gone crazy and that their switching identities again is not happening. Celeste understands her frustrations but they both could end up in jail!

Oscar prefers to not talk about what happened the night before with the kiss. Carolina tells Oscar again how much she loves him, never wanted to hurt him and only wants to see him happy. He assures her he will care for Andrés as his own. She asks for a hug, they almost kiss and, of course, are interrupted by Celeste with news . . .

The lawyer tells Carolina that Padilla has been spying on her. Oscar quickly concludes that Padilla cannot see Andrés leaving the convent. No, there are no other entrances to the convent grounds other than the front gate. Celeste has an idea. They hide Andrés in a piece of luggage and put it in the back of a SUV as Padilla watches. When they are out of the area., Andrés is freed and they head to the bus station.

Padilla calls Carlos to tell him that Andrés never left the convent. Carlos heads to the convent.

Carolina and Oscar make peace. She mentions that she saw him the night before with her sister. She makes it clear that she is not judging him. She only wants to pledge her friendship to him. If he needs somebody, he knows where to find her. Oscar says there is not much to say. He and Carolina let their emotions get the best of them. The important thing is that Carolina doesn't deserve to be in the situation she is in. He asks her if they can trust the lawyer. She answers that they can. He tells her he is willing to pay for or do whatever Carolina needs to be reunited her son. She smiles and says she will keep him up to date.

Carolina calls Andrés to make sure he is okay. He tells her he is fine and it was exciting! In a subsequent call, he asks her if they can live in Monteverde when she is free. He saw her the night before with Oscar and thinks that Oscar will forgive her. She hopes so. Andrés would like it if they all could live together.
Moisés would like it too. He confesses that Moisés was faking being sick at the convent. She laughs and declares him the best son in the world. She is the best mother in the whole wide world.

Carlos shows up at the convent demanding that Carolina turn over his son. All that Carolina can do is laugh and tells him that his son is not there nor in Monteverde with her sister. He is in a very safe place where he will never be found. He insists that his son is there. He was seen going in with her lover from Monteverde. She tells him he needs a new informant because he gave him the wrong information. She adds that Oscar is not her lover but is the one and only love of her life. Mother Gustava appears and as Carlos advances to search the convent, she tells him to sstop and leave before she calls the police and files charges against him. Mother Gustava and Carolina close the gates on him as he rages on.

Carlos attacks Padilla accusing him of lying to him. Padilla insists that he didn't see Andrés leave the convent. Maybe they snuck him out somehow. Carlos tells him to call his contact in Monteverde to see if he is son is back there. Padilla reminds him there is no cell service, so it will take a while for him to contact her.

Erika the Flip-Flopper or Oscar's Nightmare Comes True
Celeste informs Erika that Moisés is back and that he had a stomach ache but is okay now. Erika cannot wait to go and see him tomorrow. Celeste says she understands how hard it must be for her to be away from him after just finding him. Erika says that is how it is and she needs to adapt.

The next day, Lucía and Celeste discuss Erika. Celeste says she had an interview and left very early.

Erika goes to see the good father. She went for a job interview in La Palma and got it. She will be making twice as much as her last position so she can support her son. He is confused since she told them that she would not be taking her son away from Oscar and La Palma is very far from Monteverde. She knows that is what she said but this is a great job opportunity that she cannot let get away. She is also not going to be separated from her son ever again.

Erika and the good father go to Oscar's to give him the news. Moisés hears that she wants to take him away with her and tells them he doesn't want to leave his godfather and reminds her that she said she was going to be staying in Monteverde. A very angry Oscar tells them to leave so he can talk to Moisés as Erika tries to justify her actions.

Oscar tells Moisés he is not going anywhere he doesn't want to go. He will not force him. Moisés doesn't want to go but he loves his mother and suggests that Oscar give her a job on the ranch so she doesn't have to leave town. Oscar is reluctant since they never have had women working on the ranch.Moisés argues that Erika is not just any woman. She is his mother.

Celeste lets Trinidad know that her boyfriend is not the author she thinks he is. He is a private detective and has been using her to get information on Carolina and Andrés.

The good father tells Erika she has to give the situation some time. She says she has given the situation nine years of her life already! What is more, she is running out of money. She has to find a job. He tells her she can stay there until she finds a job. She smiles. He suggests she talk to Moisés the next day to tell him it was never her intention to take him away from Oscar. She concludes if she cannot find a job, she will have to come and visit Moisés on weekends.

Moisés asks Erika if she wants to work for him on his ranch.

Election Shenanigans
The good father suggests that Juan David take advantage of being at church on Sunday by campaigning after mass is over. He can ask the people for their ideas to make the town (aka the future municipality of Monteverde )better. Of course, Gloria and Doris have the same idea of campaigning at the church for Manuel and Cárcamo. Cárcamo's and Manuel's displeasure with running for office becomes more and more apparent. Juan David decides to concentrate on the efforts he has made already to help the town. Manuel has had it and tells Gloria he is not going to run PERIOD! Gloria decides that will make her take a drastic measure. She will run herself!

The Short Goodbye
Diego tries to make things better by offering to buy Lucía a horse so she can have one there in Zacatillo to train. She is appalled by the idea accusing him of always wanting to do things his way and there being no trust between them. She is done with him and tells him to say goodbye to Belén for her. She packs up and goes back to live at the inn. She is introduced to Erika who is her new roommate.

From Monteverde to Lima
Franco calls Julieta, who is suffering from swollen ankles, to tell her he is leaving Mexico tonight and will be in Lima the next day. He has already booked a hotel room near her home. He asks Lucas to take him to the airport. He tells him and Rosalía he wants to be in Lima for the birth of his baby.

Rosalía tells Lucía that Franco has left for Lima. Lucía admits to Rosalía that she would like to reconcile with Franco but at the present time, they are on different paths.

Domenica - I’m doing the recap for last week now! I haven’t seen Monday’s episode yet, I’m going to get through this first. It’s probably going to be even abbreviated than usual for me, so like always, fill in blanks and ask questions, correct my mistakes! BRB
 

Domenica Montero capítulo 44-48 in brief! Part 1

Mercedes confesses to Luis the deal she had with Max, that he’s also Martin Gonzalez and that she agreed to drop charges because he paid her back with interest. She also admits that she hoped or expected that Domenica would choose Max sooner or later, and that suited her just fine, as she wanted Domenica out of Luis’s life. Luis is pretty pissed. When he presses her with, “Is that all?” she gets shifty-eyed but says yes, not telling him about her collaboration with Kiara.

Domenica, weirded out by the creepy vibe she got from Genaro when he rescued her (when she fell into the Laguna), wants to fire him. She suspects he kissed her when she was out (though she doesn’t say this to him). He gets all self-righteous and “wounded” and guilts her into not firing him.

Adelaida wants to reunite with Simon, but he continues to be stand-offish and even invents a girlfriend in the neighboring pueblo to make her jealous.

Luis and Domenica exchange notes about all the lies Max told. Domenica is indignant that Mercedes was willing to cover for Max’s scamming (as long as she got her money back) and not let anyone else know what kind of delincuente he was. Luis presumes to think that Domenica is willing to forgive Max, but says he won’t sit back with “brazos cruzados” (crossed arms) and let Max get away with it. He wants Max in jail!

Pedro and Prudencio continue to surreptitiously investigate Genaro’s crooked doings. Pedro is told to work alongside Genaro with accounting, and is always looking for clues and proof of corruption.

Max is getting more and more desperate about being exposed as a liar and losing his chance with Domenica. He tells Kiara that he’ll spill all the beans about her betrayal. Silvi and Kiara are worried about what Max might say and Silvi says maybe Kiara should pack her bags and get out while she can.

When Luis Fernando retrieved a gun from Osvaldo (a gun gifted to Osvaldo from Genaro) he gives the gun to Gabriel, warning him about his son. Gabriel, in turn, doesn’t even want the gun in his house because he knows Osvaldo will search for it and never give up until he finds it. He gives it to - guess! - Kiara. Kiara seems indifferent about the gun but sure, she’ll hang onto it.

Ernesto, who has never ceased investigating Max behind the scenes, offers to collaborate with Luis and San Genis in seeing justice against Max. Luis is immediately defensive and assumes that Domenica just wants to find out what’s going on in order to protect Max. Ernesto loses his patience and rips into Luis, saying that they’re all on the same side against Max, only Luis is too stubborn to listen.

Prudencio and Pedro try to get some dirt on Genaro by questioning Roque (former “helper” of Genaro) but Roque isn’t talking.

Ernesto, San Genis, and Luis come up with a way to finally get Max arrested, but Max already fled. Max is frantic because his “socio” ran off with all the money that Max hoped to repay to Domenica, in hopes of being forgiven. He feels he’s lost everything and is going loco.

Domenica is encouraged to talk with Luis (by Nana, I think), because even though they have all sorts of problems between them, there is still love there on both sides. She drives hopefully to his hacienda, but is blocked on the road by a lunatic Max, who drags her to the ground, kissing her, insisting that he loves her more than anyone. She fights and screams, and that’s where we end cap 48.


 

Domenica 44-48 part 2

In a very disturbing scene, poor Domenica is taped by Max. He screams that she “belongs to him” even though she insisted she’s done with him.

After he finishes, she’s a crumpled mess laying on the ground. She tells him “you raped me” and he seems to finally come to his senses. However, instead of helping her, he runs off. Some time later, her best friend Gina (who we haven’t seen or thought of for most of the novela) happens to drive by and helps Domenica, and takes her to a neighboring pueblo where she is able to file a police report and get examined by a doctor. Gina came out to give Domenica info about the guest list at her boda (to find out who may have picked up Domenica’s engagement ring).

Meanwhile, Luis encounters Max in el campo as Max is running off - they have a brief fight, with a few witnesses to see it all, and Max ultimately is able to run off when he kicks Luis hard in the crotch.

Domenica doesn’t want anyone back in her town to know about her rape. She and Gina stay in town at a hotel. The next morning, Luis finds Domenica sitting at an outside dining area and is able to talk with her. She is strangely distant and cold, but not hostile. She is clearly not bitter towards him but yet tells him that she needs to be alone. He is puzzled and concerned.

Gina sees him leave, and asks Domenica who he is. “The love of my life” she replies.

Backing up a bit, not long after Max and Luis had their fight, an unknown person shoots Max in the chest as he is near the water.

San Genis finally confesses all to Ernesto - he confesses that he swiped the ride, the note, and the gift that Ernesto left for Blanca. Ernesto punches him. San Genis realized that Ernesto was far more sincere and in love with Blanca, and she would be better off with him.

Long story short, Ernesto is able to talk to Blanca, explain what happened, and she reads his very romantic note. She immediately melts and they quickly become a couple. Yay team Cute Lawyer/Ernesto!

Osvaldo and Nieves - there was no “there there” and Nieves eventually sees this. He tries to give her a bracelet, thinking he can “buy” her affection, but she’s super insulted. Later he shows the bracelet (that she refused) to Pedro, insinuating that Nieves loves alk the gifts he gives her. Osvaldo implies that Nieves gives him - let’s say - “lots of embraces” in response to his generosity. Pedro is offended too - doesn’t think a guy should talk that way about his novia.

Long story short again, Pedro and Nieves finally have a proper conversation, reveal their feelings for each other, and they decide to marry.

The representative from Nescafé comes to seal the deal with Domenica. We have a prolonged sponsorship scene, where we hear about how awesome Nescafé is. But I didn’t mind, because the representative was played by one of my favorites, Cesar Evora!

Domenica part 3 cap 44-48

Gina is my new heroine. She has no f’s to give and says what she says. She’s very frank with Luis when she presents him with the guest list to Domenica’s failed boda. She isn’t favorably impressed with him based on what she’s heard and she tells him so. She asks what the hell is wrong with him, getting cozy with Kiara? Gina is also VERY clear that she’s always thought Kiara is phony and very envious of Domenica.

They have a conversation that is somewhat productive. Gina realizes that he truly loves Domenica, despite him being a big dope. Gina, knowing she can’t reveal that Domenica was raped, just tells Luis that something “complicated” is going on, and that he should be patient, and have faith that that “Domenica needs you, you just have to give her time.”

There’s this whole complicated conspiracy with Black Widow (Cosme’s widow), Omar (the agriculture expert), and Genaro. Black Widow and Omar want to ruin Domenica’s coffee crop. From what I can gather, the problem is that Domenica promised to sell her entire crop to one client (I guess Nescafé) which screws things up for our crooks, I think because they’re hoping to measure or weigh the crop and say it’s less than it really is, so they can skim off the top.

Black widow and Omar plan to poison the crop but not tell Genaro. He finds out because Roque’s replacement was approached by Omar, with a bribe to poison the crop but not tell Genaro. Replacement played along with Omar, but told Genaro anyway.

Padrino guesses something is up with Domenica and finally coaxes her to tell him what happened. He is horrified and enraged. They both dissolve in tears and hug. Domenica tells Padrino that he is such a comfort to her.

Omar also ends up being a “replacement” for Genaro in more intimate matters with the Black Widow - though if we’re measuring who is hotter, Genaro wins if you ask me.

Genaro is blackmailing Gabriel and wants $350,000 pesos (I think around $90,000 usd?). Gabriel is worried about Osvaldo and doesn’t want his kid involved in this dirty mess. I’m still not completely clear as to WHY Genaro feels entitled to so much money, but it appears to be the price Gabriel must pay to be free of his corrupt socios.

San Genis has heard about Gina and is already intrigued. So much for his great love for Blanca! Luis is amused. San Genis goes out of his way to introduce himself to Gina, to confirm that her “eyes are as beautiful as he was told” and she is amused, is totally onto his BS, but also favorably disposed towards him and compliments his pretty eyes too. It seems they are kinda sorta seeing each other but also “just friends.”

There’s a brief thing where an age-appropriate lady agent is talking to Godfather about Max’s case, Tia sees them and gets jealous, Godfather is flattered and amused, they clear everything up, and it’s much ado about nothing.

Pedro was snooping through the office he shares with Genaro and Osvaldo and was going through papers - someone approaches and he’s worried he’s busted. It turns out it’s just Silvi. He doesn’t want her to tell anyone she saw him snooping, so she tells him he can buy her silence by taking him swimming at the Laguna or whatever.

When they are there, she swims alone. All of a sudden she screams because she felt a body in the water. You guessed it, Max!

End part 3

 

Domenica ep 44–48 part 4 (I may be getting some of these events out of order, as I’m just doing a stream-of-consciousness recollection.)

Poor Silvi was freaked out by finding Max’s body, and Pedro being with her at the time causes gossip (though he is eventually able to clear things up with Nieves which is why they decide to marry).

Domenica is briefly considered a suspect in Max’s murder, but she was in the neighboring town with Gina at the time and there were lots of witnesses.

Kiara and Genaro both talk to each other as if they think the other killed Max. Genaro says he “knows” Kiara killed him, but I’m not sure he knows as in he saw something, or just his gut says so or he’s strongly suspicious. In any case, he’s right, we have a flashback where Kiara uses the gun that I assume Gabriel gave her. Max is prone on the ground, asks her why, she says because he was supposed to be hers, blah blah, basically she’s butthurt that once again Domenica “won.” Max, with his dying breaths, tells Kiara to ask Domenica to forgive him. He also tells Kiara that Domenica is worth much more than her, Kiara, and this angers Kiara so much that she pumps several more bullets into him.

With Domenica cleared as a possible suspect, the eyes of the law fall upon Luis, since he was in a fight with Max shortly before his death. Genaro’s replacement “helper” was told to tell the police that he suspects Luis. Luis is taken into jail.

Kiara visits him, and acts all outraged that he’s in jail. He vows to find the guilty party. He hated Max, but never wished death on him.

Black widow tells Gabriel to let his wife have a divorce. Later Gabriel, seemingly repentant and ashamed, apologizes to his daughter and say she can work as an assistant for Luis if she wants. He seems very sweet with her and she’s touched.

Roque was a witness that when Max and Luis fought, he saw that Luis went his way and Max went his way - Roque is very willing to be Luis’s alibi.

Kiara is acting all high and mighty as Luis is in jail. When Domenica comes to visit, Kiara blames Domenica for him being there in the first place! Doménica isn’t having it any more and is tired of Kiara’s crap. Kiara tries to imply that Domenica probably killed Max.

Bartolo is so pissed at Replacement (Pánfilo) for falsely accusing Luis that he punches him. He says it was all for nothing, because Roque will be his alibi!

Domenica visits Luis. She instantly assures him she believes in his innocence. They have a somewhat unromantic but very tender sort of reconciliation. She’s trying to explain a bit about what she feels, but Mercedes interrupts them, angry that Domenica is even there. Domenica leaves. Luis is sick of Mercedes’ crap and has her kicked out.

There’s a lot of going back and forth, finally Luis is released from jail and leaves with Domenica - Kiara is upset because, once again, Domenica “wins.”

There’s a scene in here somewhere where Silvi implies that Domenica has an edge over Kiara, and Kiara is so outraged that she yanks her hair hard and warns her never to say something like that again. Silvi is visibly scared.

Tia is becoming increasingly suspicious of Kiara and her actions and motivations. She sees suspicious text previews on Kiara’s phone, is able to guess her password, gets into the phone,,sees Kiara’s texts to Silvi, and also sees selfies that Kiara took with Max which basically confirm that Kiara and Max conspired to scam Domenica. Tia is heartbroken.

Genaro finds out Roque and threatens his wife and kid (who live in another town) if Roque says anything. Roque promises he’s loyal and won’t snitch on Genaro.

Later, Luis tells Mercedes that basically, if she wants to be in his life in the future, she’d better be willing to suck it up and sincerely apologize to Domenica. Mercedes is super offended at the thought. Luis also tells Mercedes that he expects her to sell her share of the hacienda to San Genis, like she was going to before.

Domenica part 5 eps 44-48

Tia confronts Kiara, who is super angry that Tia snooped in her phone. She admits what she did, saying that she was always second best to Domenica. Tia says no, it was never like that, and reminds Kiara that they were always careful to raise the two girls equally. Tia says, this time I’m not covering for you, I’m telling Domenica and everyone. Kiara threatens to kill herself. Tia replies, that’s not working this time, I now know you faked the previous suicide attempt, and the supposed broken heart you had over the gringo boyfriend breaking up with you - well, it turns out you cheated on him. (This is what I think was said - not totally sure.) Kiara is so angry that she pushes Tia and she falls backwards and is unconscious.

Just as Tia is knocked out, Luis comes to the door, so Kiara has to pretend that she’s worried about her mom. Luis checks Tia - her head is bleeding.

At some point during these episodes Silvi freaks out and wants to escape. She seems to realize that Kiara is more involved in things than she’s letting in. Kiara says, you gotta stay, you’re my alibi. Silvi says, I’m doing you a favor by leaving now, if they pressure me, I’ll tell them everything I know. She adds that while she always has stood by Kiara, she’s not going to get mixed up with a lot of stuff that she had no knowledge of. She’s out!

Tia is unconscious in the hospital. (She ends up being okay.) Kiara is already creating “plausible deniability” out in the waiting room, saying that she’s worried about Tia’s memory. (Gina heard this and frowns - like she recognizes BS.)

Tia breaks all telenovela tropes by remembering what happened to her, by refusing to see Kiara (tells the hospital staff to block her) and immediately telling Domenica EVERYTHING. I was so sure Kiara would try something to shut Tia up or hurt her, but no! Domenica hears it all.

Domenica confronts Kiara alone (again, I was worried that Kiara would pull something) but no again! Domenica kicks out Kiara, drags her by her hair, cancels all her credit cards, she is OUT. Kiara tries to get back in to “at least get her things” but Nieves was ordered not to let her in, so she’s on her own.

Kiara first runs to Genaro for help. He doesn’t care. She runs to Gabriel. He says no (though his wife overhears, knows he cheated, and tells him later that any softening she felt for him evaporated at that moment). She finally calls Mercedes, who says she will help.

Adelaida and Simon: She’s trying to win him back but he’s being cold and rejecting her. Prudencio and Nana want to step in and play matchmaker. What Prudencio does is yell at Simon, saying that he broke Adelaida’s heart so bad that she’s taken a job in the city teaching cooking, and will be leaving on the bus that day. (Simon also confirms to Prudencio that he made up the thing about having a novia in the next town.) Simon is frantic and rushes to the bus stop to get to Adelaida, but the bus left! He’s distraught and talks about getting a taxi so he can catch her at the next town’s bus stop. He tells Maria this in passing, so imagine Maria’s surprise she she immediately sees Adelaida shopping in town, having no clue about any teaching job. Later Adelaida finds out more the matchmaking from Prudencio and Nana, and hugs them.

Blanca accidentally busts in on Black Widow and Omar making out in Black Widow’s office. Black widow later explains to Blanca that it’s tough being a beautiful widow, blah blah. Blanca and Ernesto are going to marry and live in Puebla, and of course Ernesto is going to be a loving son-in-law, as Blanca’s mom will be staying with them.

We end episode 48 with Omar and Pánfilo (Replacement) preparing to poison Domenica’s coffee crop. Genaro puts a gun to the back of Omar’s head and Pánfilo backs off - he was never on Omar’s side.
 

Domenica: I saw episode 49. WOW I was not expecting all of that.

Hopefully I will write the recap for ep 49 later this afternoon. (But you know me, famous last words.)

I was not expecting that anything would happen to Mercedes. I am glad she redeemed herself.
 

Domenica: ep 48

I forgot the cliffhanger! About three weeks after the rape, Domenica figures out she’s pregnant with Max’s baby. She doesn’t hesitate - she knows she’s going to keep the baby.

She does seem to try to bring it up with Luis a few times, but finally, at the end of episode 48, she tells him that she’s “expecting Max’s baby.” Which seems rather backwards to me - shouldn’t she first bring up the circumstances of the situation first?

That horrifying scene in episodes 44/45 is more horrifying because 2 minutes before, Doménica had a flashback of love scenes between her and Luis Fernando.

Steve, I felt horrified, shocked, sad, mad, angry at the same time, after that horrible rape scene.
OMG those screams...
Same goes for the scene when Doménica's friend finds her on the ground...
I don't see any reason for turning this telenovela into something so dark.

But, episode 48 was quite satisfying.

Thanks Elvira. I've been current with this show so was glad to see your posts. I guess they don't give the morning after pill in Mexico. They are useful in rape cases. I keep hoping the baby is actually Luisfe's. Occasionally women will have a cycle while pregnant, which could throw the timing off. I lose track of the passing time in this show, how long ago did she and LuisFe have relations?

Yes, a definite wow moment in last night's episode. Looking forward to your take on it.

Has the new municipality determined a budget and how the moneys will be collected? Juan David may not be thanked for getting them incorporated if they have to pay more taxes.

Wow, Angelina is growing by leaps and bounds daily. Admittedly she is carrying twins, but still!

Elvira, wow, I am amazed at your recaps . Thanks .You capture every crazy Moment. I can often figure out what is happening by the visual , but I don't understand the dialogue . I have lost track of the minor characters ' names and and storylines.

Silvi was wise to get away while she could . Kiki would be threatening her .
I love the actor playing Gabriel . His karma is coming . Will he repent and win back his family .?
Lusty major is getting her anvil . She was fun to watch .
Mercedes got her anvil . What will happen to big ,bad Genero?Maybe that green dust will kill him off . Oswald also needs an anvil.

MI verdad

I don't know if anyone else is watching this show, but I am ,and it is moving forward .
The actor playing Inigio has been in many novelasever since he was a young actor.,. Now he seems to always play villains , and he likes playing very weird characters and chewing up the scenery. Inigio is awful . His poor wife is sweet and meek but seems to have an alcohol problem ..understandable being married to this cad.
Aitana is always standing outside doors eavesdropping .

Is anyone watching this TN? I find it very intriguing. I am still struggling to learn the names and their relationships to each other. The mother, though appearing to have had a stroke, knows her sons. Each of the brothers have different personalities and depths of misbehavior. Aitana, la enfermera sneaks around eavesdropping and learning what everyone is up to.

I assume that at some point she will begin to get revenge on those who raped her. It was more than one brother, it seems to have been three ( but I cannot tell which of the three).

i would hope some kind person who understands Spanish better than I, would provide some recaps of episodes, however brief.

I’m watching this too. So far I like it. I was as shocked as Aitana to realize the mother knew what her sons did that night. I wonder if she caused the fire! I don’t know how Aitana hasn’t been caught eavesdropping yet, she stays right outside whatever doorway they’re in.
Susan, it doesn’t seem like Mateo is stalking the girlfriend. I feel they’re continuing an affair they’ve been having. She seems to be afraid of getting caught as she wants, or needs to marry him. And it sounds like her dad is out of money and needs this marriage to happen. And Aitana has already figured it out.
The mother is horrible. And not a good judge of character. She doesn’t like the sweet wife, prefers the cheating one. I can’t figure out why she’s so horrible to the older granddaughter. I wonder if she was his wife’s child.

Thanks, Jarifa. I enjoyed your recap. I finally caught up. I watched but didn’t read the recaps as I was so behind. I’m not surprised that Erika tried to move and take Moises. She seemed to good to be true. And I’m so glad Diego is out of the picture. He was too controlling.
Julieta is probably plotting how she can hold onto Franco.
I don’t see Gloria having a chance in the elections. I still haven’t figured out what Manuel sees in her!

I think both Inigio and Mateo were in on the rape. Bruno and Lucano don't seem as evil as those two .
Inigio is horrible to his wife and constantly after Luciano's fiancee, who wants to get married to Luciano asap. The mother also seems to want them to marry soon. Why? Is Inigio pushing his meek wife to have a baby?

Verdad Oculta - I started watching this, just part of the first episode. It’s too soon to know if I’ll want to continue. There’s another novela starting soon with Sebastian Rulli - I may decide on that one. Or just watch both! I often have time to *watch* more than one novela, if I don’t have to translate them for a family member who sometimes watches them with me. (Not that I’m complaining - it’s fun to watch and translate - but time-consuming.)

I'm also watching. I have a few theories. I can't remember the sons names off the top of my head. I think the violation happened after a bachelor party for the eldest. I think, since he will likely be Aitana's love interest he did not participate. Now to really get into the fantastical theory, perhaps Aitana got pregnant as a result. Older son's wife is infertile and just happens to adopt her baby, Belinda! Since Belinda is not a biological granddaughter, grandma dislikes her! I think I should write the plot for this TN! Aitana gets along so well with her, it's the call of the blood, lol. All this is supposition of course.

He has been talking to Aitana a lot and jogging with her . Mateo talks to his mother alone a lot. i guess he is a vet because He poisoned zak's old dog,c but then he saved him. That was weird. Domenica, eso 44-48: another detail I forgot—when Kiara pushed Tia down, she immediately got her phone and erased all the incriminating videos, smugly thinking all proof was gone. But noooooo… Tia had already uploaded all the videos to the cloud, so EVERYONE can see them - there no way Kiara can lie her way out of it this time!

Susan, I got names mixed up! The creepy husband, Inigio, and the brother’s fiancée are the ones I was referring to. I don’t think he’s stalking her because she seems to resist because she wants to marry the brother. But she went to that motel to meet him. I think they’ve been having an affair for a while. Maybe even love each other. Inigio seems the type who thinks he’s irresistible to woman, so he may be stalking the servant girl.
Luciano seems so nice, I can’t picture him ever raping someone. But Aitana told Zachariah that he was the leader. I think Bruno is the one that didn’t take part in the rape.
I think the mother is into wealth and is pleased Luciano is marrying into money. Something was said about the daughter-in-law not coming from a wealthy family. Meanwhile the fiancée’s dad is broke and in a hurry for her to marry Luciano.
Kat, I like your plot. If that turns out to be true, and Luciano did take part in the rape, he could be Belinda’s biological dad.
Inigio was furious that his wife was using birth control. He wants a son, and she doesn’t get a say in the matter.

Erika Gets a Job
Much to Moisés' pleasure, Oscar decides to offer Erika a job on the ranch which she readily accepts. They can discuss her pay so it is fair to both of them. She isn't worried about it as long as it is enough for her to support herself in Monteverde and be close to her son. She is ready to learn whatever she needs to. The next day, Oscar puts Lucas in charge of assigning her work and he, also, informs the men to be respectful to Erika because she is Moisés' mother.

Padilla the Invader
Carlos is not happy that Padilla hasn't been able to talk to his contact. He wants him to go inside the convent and find his son. Padilla says it will cost him extra. Carlos agrees. Padilla scales a fence and is inside the convent in no time searching for Andrés. He sees Celeste leaving her room and goes into it to see if Andrés is there or any information he can use. Celeste surprises him and runs him out of her room and out of the convent.

Carlos is not pleased that his son was not found at the convent. Padilla tells him that his contact told him that his son is went to Monterrey. Carlos thinks his contact must be lying. Padilla assures him of her validity. When Padilla asks for his payment, Carlos tells him that he will not see one peso until he finds his son.

Trinidad tells Celeste that she told Padilla that Andrés went to Monterrey.

Carolina's lawyer helps Mother Gustava file breaking and entering charges against Padilla. The crime carries penalties of 6 months to 4 years in prison. The lawyer also obtained a restraining order so Padilla cannot contact Carolina. Carolina is worried about what Carlos can do. The lawyer thinks that he should be worried because if Padilla wants to clear himself he will have to testify that Carlos had him spy on her so that he could kidnap Andrés and that will not go over well in court. The cybernetic investigator has found accounts at a bank in Bermuda. Now they need to prove that they belong to her husband and the money is from the apartment fraud. The lawyer has no idea how long that will take since Carlos keeps moving the money around but the lawyer tells Carolina to trust her.

Carolina's Efforts Have Not Been in Vain
When Oscar tells Moisés about his mother working at the ranch, he gives him credit for coming up with the idea,. Moisés says all they need now is for Andrés' mother to get out of jail and come to live with them. The boy isn't satisfied with his father's non-answer and tells him to admit that he is still in love with her. He saw Oscar give Carolina a kiss and it wasn't just any kiss, it was a really big kiss! He and Andrés saw them at the convent. He admits that he really wasn't sick and that it was all part of a plan to get them to stay together overnight at the convent! Oscar is angry that he lied. Moisés thinks it was for a good cause. He demands to know if Oscar is in love with Celeste or not. A frustrated Oscar answers YES he is. Oscar says it is a secret between just the two of them. Of course, Moisés tells Andrés later.

Carolina calls Oscar and he answers sounding like he is happy that she called.
She gives him the latest news about her situation and expresses her worry that Carlos will be coming back to Monteverde to take Andrés. Oscar says he will never allow that to happen. She smiles and calls him back a short time later asking if he liked the photo she sent him. He has to say he did. She smiles and asks him to send her a selfie. He agrees to but it is late, he tells her to take care of herself and wishes her sweet dreams.

Oscar goes out on the ranch and takes a smiling selfie to send to Carolina which he does. She likes it. He is happy she does but then wonders what is happening to him.

Carolina calls Oscar to bring him up to date on her case and asks him to tell her sister. By the way, she didn't just like his photo. She loved his photo. It gives her the strength to continue on. Later, Andrés tells his mother that Moisés told him that his father said that he is still in love with her.

The Campaign Continues

Gloria tells the good father, Juan David and Angelina that she is now running for president of the municipality and she wants Juan David to be her secretary. They are incredulous. Juan David says no way. Gloria leaves in a huff.

A representative from the state arrives at Manuel's to look over the town,.
Juan David greets her but soon Gloria and Cárcamo with Doris take over. Juan David has to remind them that the official is not there for the election but to gather information about the town.

Gloria wants to take family photos for her campaign. Angelina tells her that is not happening.She is supporting her husband and not her. Gloria leaves in a huff again. Juan David is pleased.

Franco Lands in Lima
Julieta meets Franco at the airport. He kisses the baby in her belly and she tells him that their daughter Mariana can arrive at any time. Franco tells Julieta all the the news from Monteverde including that Lucía is going out with a guy from Zacatillo. She asks if he and Lucía are done for good. He has to admit that what they had is over.

Another proposal, another wedding!
Hugo goes to see the good father for an idea of how to propose to Juanita. He is not going to hide the ring in a piece of cake or a bouquet. He cannot ask her family for her hand since they are far away but likes the traditional approach. He comes to a decision but never tells us or the good father what it is. Hugo asks Moisés and Andrés to be his accomplices.

Erika Gets Yet Another Bad Idea
Now, that she has a job and gets to see her son every day, Erika wants to take Moisés to Villa Hidalgo for the weekend so she can introduce her son to her family and friends. She knows that Oscar might not be comfortable with that but it is important for her. Oscar, looking like this is the last thing he needs to hear right now, says he will think about it.

Carlos' Mystery Woman
Carlos is in a bar meeting up with a woman "Sara" he met on a dating site.
He explains he is still married because his wife left him. A few months back, he found out that she committed a multi-million dollar fraud. She fled the authorities and took their child with her. His son is the person he most loves in the world. He is desperate to find him. Sara cannot stand women like that who would hide a child!

Why do we have to go here??
Lucía notices a lump in her breast and goes to see Rosalía who says it is best to go to the hospital in Zacatillo and get it checked out.

I saw the finale and will write the recap for episodes 49-50 later today (Wednesday). There’s a lot going on, so I’m going to review everything as I write.

I was more or less happy with the ending, in as much that they didn’t bump off a whole bunch of people.

The very end was weird, going into the future (2030 or so?) but hey, we got one last plug in for Nescafé, and Cesar Evora as the Nescafé rep made another appearance!

The last 2 episodes were... something, Them giving Mercedes a 'redemption' to kill her off at the end with a long drawn out scene expecting me to care about her death was a choice. I didn't have the emotional connection so I didn't care enough, found myself rolling my eyes during her scenes before eventually skipping most of it (in ep 50)

Not them pulling a reverse lion king Mufasa death scene for Kiara, that made me laugh, not sure if that's the reaction the writers wanted though. Domenica losing her baby didn't make me sad either, I mean I never wanted the baby so I guess I won at the end? What was the point of this storyline if they were not going to see it through, they might as well have cut out the whole rape thing OR they could have thought of one last hurdle to put in the whole domenica/luis love story that didn't include this. Hell they could have done the rape and left out the whole Dome being happy about becoming a mother through that horrible incident. All in all, i didn't really care about it and I think the writers should have been more creative with their writing.

They really killed off 3 of the main villains, sometimes death is not punishment for me (MAX!) but maybe I'm just a cold hearted bitch that loves revenge. Will update when I'm done watching the episode

Absolutely unnecessary storyline, especially with this ending. Only good thing is Angelique's outstanding performance.

Writers speed up the story with some crazy editing in last 2 episodes. No police, pregnant lady is after the armed criminal 🤔

I was happy that Nicolása survived. Her character in Soy tu dueña wasn't so lucky.

Couldn't care less about Merceditas.

Didn't know that Kiara is good in martial arts 😂

I'm glad that Doménica and Luisfer are together and happy with child of their own.

Loved Carolina chasing Padilla hitting him with the plastic laundry bag/basket along the way.
I wonder what Carlos is planning to do with Sara beyond getting sympathy for his poor pitiable self and maybe some physical activity.

Every time I think that I think Erika is going to settle in and just enjoy having found her son for a while, she pushes the envelope a bit farther. Annoying.

Finally,, Angelina is standing up to her mother. Her confrontation with Gloria was quite refreshing.

Only fifteen episodes left.

YAYYYY Kiara's not dead! and she's paralyzed! At least she's paying for her sins one way or another. How did Genaro lose his entire forearm hand when we SAW what happened to him, chile the gaslighting. I guess this is his punishment, so I'm happy with it. Not him still being obsessed with Domenica, I thought they killed Max off already?

The random time jump to the future was a bit shocking but expected, shocking because I didn't see text that said 'x years later' The Nescafe ads will never not be funny to me, get that bag I guess.

AND kiara is dead now, officially. I don't think I have any thoughts or feelings, she's dead that's it. Hopefully reunited with her lover in a verryyyyy hot place with flames.

Thanks Jarifa, another great recap. I don’t know what to think of Erika. I still don’t fully trust her. My thinking is, my child will be with me, I wouldn’t be content to come for visits. So I wonder if she’s up to something.
Here’s hoping they find Padilla and put him in jail. I bet he’d talk. Especially since Carlos is withholding his pay.
I wish Lucas would tell Franco that Lucia is free. I worry Julieta will convince him he needs to be with her.
I’m sure Sarah is someone that can somehow help Carlos get custody of Andre’s. He probably picked her because of her job, maybe family services or a judge. He’s already managed to get her to dislike his “ex”.

I agree with Anon, Liz it’s worth watching. I liked that this story moved at lightning speed. It’s at least half the length of traditional novelas. The cast was great, although most of us didn’t take to Max, probably because his character was a jerk. The novel has Scarlet Gruber, a master at antagonist roles! I can picture her in front of a mirror, gnashing her teeth to get into character daily!

Angelique has matured into an outstanding actress. Her portrayal was spot on. I haven’t seen earlier renditions, but I really admired how her character reacted and rebounded from situations that would crush many. She didn’t need a man, but formed a trusting relationship with her “enemy” LuisFe!

I liked the subplots. The Mercedes story was sad to watch. Prudencio was great! Love seeing Alberto Estrella! Also fun with Alejandro Tommasi, great in any role. Too many to mention. Great cast!!!

My favorite was watching Pedro (Graco Sendel) mature. He was too quick to react as a youth but grew into his rightful role as a Jimenez. He seems to be beloved by those around him. I liked when he offered his windfall to help LuisFe. Is he related to Sergio Sendel?

I liked the rapidly moving story! No wasted time. They could have left out the rape/pregnancy subplot with no harm to the main story. I only wish they had.

The GOOD

Another Wedding!
An elegantly dressed Hugo proposes to Juanita with the assistance of Moisés and Andrés outside the inn. He says he has the most important question of his life to ask her. The boys hold up cards with the question: Will you marry me? It takes them a couple of tries to get the words in order. Juanita says yes. They immediately go to see the good father and schedule their wedding for the 12th which happens to be the day that the antenna will be installed in town. The exasperated good father wants Juan David to change the date because he has to bless the antenna and cannot be at two places at one time. Juan David thinks it will all work out.

Hugo and Juanita will have their reception at Manuels's and she chooses ribs to be served.

Some women from the inn ask Manuel if they can take Juanita to Zacatillo to buy her wedding dress. He happily gives her time off and money for the dress.

To Success!
The good father and Celeste toast with rompope (a kind of alcoholic eggnog)to the success of Operation Genesis. Four marriages! Soon there will be babies all over town.

Will Lucas Move On?
Lucas has gotten an offer to be a foreman on a new ranch a friend has bought in Nuevo León. He sees it as a great opportunity that he cannot pass up. Rosalía isn't sure she would want to move at first but changes her mind when she realizes how much this new job would mean to him. He talks to Oscar his father about the offer. Oscar tries to talk him into staying on the family ranch and taking over the sheep and sharing the foreman position with Franco. He wants the ranch to be in the hands of all three of his sons as his posterity. Lucas will think about it.

Carolina Has a Good Effect on Oscar
Oscar voices his fear of allowing Erika to take Moisés out of town to visit her friends to Carolina. Too many things could go wrong. Somebody could talk her into not bringing him back. Carolina tries to calm his fears by telling him that Erika knows that Moisés couldn't be with a better person than him.Oscar wishes he could be more like she is. She can always focus on the point of it all while he is still ruminating. Talking with her has managed to calm his apprehensions and he is grateful. He decides that he will let Moisés go with his mother to visit her friends under one condition: that he takes them. Erika is overjoyed with his decision. They will make a quick trip the next day. Oscar makes sure that Andrés will be well-cared for by Cárcamo before he leaves.

Rosalía Needs Time
Rosalía is still mourning the loss of her baby. Lucas thinks they should try to have another one. She tells him she is not ready yet.

Juan David's Hands are Tied
Cárcamo and Doris buzz Juan David. When he gets to the hotel it turns out that they want him to take campaign photos of them. When he refuses, they threaten to fire him, so he is coerced into taking their photos and working against his best interests.

Sara Has a Plan for Her Man: Carlos
Carlos takes Sara out to eat. She hangs on every word he says as he sweet talks her. It turns out that she runs a veterinary clinic for small animals with some of her friends. After maligning Carolina even more, Carlos tells her that she will not see him for a while because he is going to Monteverde. He is sure that his son is at his wife's lover's ranch and he is going to go and get him. Sara is worried that he could get shot since he told her what a violent man the ranch owner is. She has a better idea. What if she infiltrates the ranch posing as an agricultural student studying cattle. She could facilitate him taking Andrés without anyone knowing. She makes it clear that she would do whatever Carlos wants.

Wicked Witches are Everywhere
The visit with Erika's friends goes very well until Erika's mother Corina unexpectedly arrives on the scene. Erika is not happy to see her. Corina is imposing and abrasive and is there to meet her grandchild. She thinks that her grandson is a lucky chick having landed on his feet like he did with Oscar a rich guy. Moisés didn't realize he had a grandmother. She tells him he sure does and what a grandmother she is!! She tells Oscar that not everybody would have done what he did for Moisés. He must be charitable and very generous. Oscar answers that he only did the right thing because no child should be abandoned.The short visit is cut even shorter when a clearly uncomfortable Oscar announces that they need to leave. He turns down Corina's offer to go get coffee telling her another time. Corina tells them she will be seeing them soon. After they leave, Corina says to herself that her little grandchild is a gift from heaven!!

The Low-down
Moisés tells Andrés that he met his grandmother and didn't like her at all. She was strange, had witchy eyes, kept calling him "chamaco" (boy) and pinched his cheeks. She is nothing like his mother.

Wicked Witches Make House Calls
Corina soon shows up at Oscar's. She is there to talk about her grandson. She is thinking about going to court to get custody of him. Oscar cannot believe what he is hearing. He has legal custody of Moisés. Erika hasn't mentioned filing for custody. Corina explains that she is only doing what her daughter should be doing. The fact of the matter is that Erika is so taken by finding her son, she hasn't really thought about filing for custody. Oscar tells her to forget it. She informs him that whether he likes it or not, they will be going to court unless they can reach another kind of agreement. How much will he give her to keep custody of Moisés. Oscar cannot believe that she is blackmailing him. She reminds him that Moisés is her blood. The only reason that Oscar found Moisés was because his jerk of a father abandoned him and told her daughter he was dead. He lied and Erika has every right to custody of her son.
On the other hand, who is Oscar anyway? Oscar answers that he is Moisés' father and will always be. He tells her to go.

Wicked Witches Will Sacrifice Their Own
Erika suddenly appears and is confused by what is going on. Corina tells her that they are going to fight for custody of Moisés. Erika immediately swears to Oscar that she had nothing to do with this. Oscar refuses to believe her and accuses her of having coldly calculated the whole scheme. He tells them both to leave. He doesn't want to ever see them again.

Lucía Gets Troubling News

She orders a sonogram and a mammogram for Lucía. She will have the results in 24-48 hours and will meet with Lucía then. She tells her to stay calm.

This telenovela would've been perfect with better written Luis Fernando's c character; without a rape plot; with 2 hour long final episode.
Also Gina should have arrived long before episode 45.

Thanks, Diana. Glad you enjoyed the recap. I do not have hope for Lucía’s situation. We have had too many laughs lately and in spite of the Rosalía accident and the old priest dying, very little life vs. death action. This was such a good episode as were all this week. You are going to have a very pleasant viewing weekend.

Kat, Reading bans in telenovelalandia? who knows? I think I might have seen that once as well as Pre-Cana classes maybe twice in my novela viewing history. Rosalía is the one who doesn’t want to get married not Lucas. I think she is a member of the “not needing a paper club.” That being said she just recently miscarried. The conversation was a big Duh!

Oscar promised to protect Andrés. Will he buy Sara’s story and let her on the ranch to study the cattle without really knowing her?

So now we could have Carlos AND Corina out to snatch Moisés. Who knows where Erika will fall in the mix.

I can see Corina flying in on a broom and flying Andrés away with an army of flying monkeys. ; )
