Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de Contrabando – Amor y Dinero Negro
Episode 119 #1
Elif is carrying a suitcase as she walks through the pink house preparing to leave. She sees many cheerful things around the house. Her father’s watch that she gave to Omer is on a table. She has a brief flashback to when she gave it to him. She told him she was going to give it to him after the wedding but changed her mind and gave it to him early. She picks up the watch, looks at it for a bit, and then hurls it at the wall where it breaks into pieces. She immediately regrets this and collects the pieces, saying “Oh Daddy. I’m so sorry!” over and over. She completely breaks down for a while. She then starts throwing things, tries to turn over a bookcase, and sinks to the floor crying.
We see Arda, Pelin, and Omer leaving the hospital (Tayyar’s hospital, I think). Arda says it’s obvious Tayyar is hiding Husseyn. Omer says they should call Tolga and tell him to watch the hospital for Tayyar’s henchie who is always there. Omer then gets a call and immediately jumps in his car to go somewhere without telling Arda and Pelin why.
In the hotel room, Husseyn is angry that suddenly there are no newspapers available. He tells henchie to look again and to bring him some food, that he’s hungry and could do with a steak. He also tells him to tell the other henchie to get him some stomach medicine. They leave together. Husseyn is obviously up to something. He is looking around and finds a newspaper in the trash can. He sees that Omer and Elif didn’t get married. The article gave Elvan’s heart attack as the reason. Husseyn is muy impactado.
Tayyar is trying to get up from his hospital bed, but the doctor tells him sudden movements will increase his blood pressure. Then Tayyar’s phone rings. It’s Husseyn telling him he is lower than a dog because he hid Elvan’s heart attack from him. Tayyar tells him he saw it in the paper and hopes she gets well soon.
Husseyn: How is she? Is she alive? Why are you hiding it? Who the hell are you?
Tayyar: Calm down. She must be alright. They wouldn’t make such comments if she weren’t. How did you find out?
Husseyn: Did you think those guys could hide it from me? I read it in the newspaper you hid from me. How’s my mom, Tayyar?
Tayyar: Just call the hospital and talk to the doctor and they can explain it to you.
Husseyn: No, I want to see her with my own eyes. You need to get me to the hospital.
Tayyar: Look, we’ll talk to a doctor and see where things are. Don’t do anything stupid before we find out. Omer came and gave me attitude in the hospital. We don’t want to have any trouble.
Husseyn agrees to wait but tells Tayyar he had better be quick. He threatens to leave if he doesn’t hear from him.
After the call, Husseyn throws his phone. Tayyar says to himself: “Who cares about your mother and family?” and then he throws his phone. Tayyar winces, so he must be in real pain.

Episode 119 #2
Back at the pink house, Elif is crying surrounded by all the mess she made, still holding the pieces of the watch. Someone comes up the stairs. It’s Omer!
Elif: Why did you leave the watch that I gave you to wear at our wedding, Omer? (By doing this she can tell that) You had already made your decision that night. You’d already left me.
She continues talking, telling him that even with all that, she can’t stay away from him. She cries while holding him close. He just stands there and she tells him she wants to feel his arms around her. She loves him so much and why is it so hard to forget. Why, tell me why? She finally pushes away.
Elif: If it was so easy for you to leave, why did you bring me back every time I tried to leave you? Why didn’t you just tell me to leave? Why did you let me dream, Omer?
Omer finally reacts: Elif, trust me, my heart is hurt more than yours. You can let your anger out. I can’t yell or scream. Elif, there can never be an us anymore. The pain won’t let me. You said there won’t be any more Elif and Omer. Elif, please don’t do this, (as she pulls closer). I never said I don’t love you.
They hold each other close briefly, and Omer pulls away and leaves. We see Nilufer drive up.
Omer is driving, his face showing emotional pain. He pulls to a full stop in traffic and cries uncontrollably while the other cars honk loudly.
Nilufer walks up to find Elif in the pink house. She finds her on the floor, crying. Nilufer holds her and tells her she is there for her.
Back at the hotel, Husseyn is on the phone calling the doctor about Elvan. The doctor tells her she is no longer in danger but they are keeping her for two more days out of caution. Husseyn asks why the caution. The doctor tells him they are waiting for the heart attack risk to go down. Husseyn yells that he thought she was getting better. He starts yelling at the doctor.
Doctor: I am your mother’s doctor.
Husseyn yells that he probably works for Tayyar. The doctor says he doesn’t know what he is talking about. He tells him he has his mother’s file right there. Husseyn calms down and apologizes, saying he was scared. The doctor tells him to calm down, it’s all under control.
Husseyn hangs up and returns the phone to the henchie. Henchie #2 comes in while talking to Tayyar. Husseyn tells him to tell Tayyar he is fine. Henchie #2 tells Tayyar it’s OK, no problem.
At the pink house, Nilufer and Elif are sitting on the couch. Nilufer is holding Elif’s hand.
Nilufer: Elif, I came here to tell you something. I have news. I went to visit Fatih.
Elif, rolling her eyes at the mention of Fatih: Nilufer, I really don’t want to do this right now.
Nilufer: Wait, stop for a second. Fatih wants to see you. He has things to tell you that are important.
Elif: Nilufer! He should tell it to the cops.
NIlufer: Listen to me, it’s not about Tayyar this time. It’s something else.
Elif: It’s not?
Nilufer: It’s about you and Omer.
Back at the hospital, we see Tayyar punching buttons while in his hospital bed. One of the henchies minding Husseyn comes in. Tayyar asks if he has left yet? Henchie says, not quite. He tells Tayyar he’s gotten very quiet. Tayyar warns him that Husseyn can turn around any minute. If he decides to actually go, then the henchies need to take his things at once. Tayyar tells him to find the USB flash memory that Husseyn is hiding from him. He needs to find it now. If there’s a problem, he needs to shoot him: Shoot him ‘til he’s dead. Be careful.

Episode 119 #3
Melike is waiting outside Elvan’s room. She gets a call from Husseyn asking how his mother is doing.
Melike: Where are you, will you tell me where you are?
Husseyn: I’ll tell you when it’s time. Just tell me about my mother.
Elvan: She’s fighting for her life. What kind of son are you? What kind of husband are you? Are you really no good to anyone?
Husseyn: Melike, would I do this if I didn’t have to?
Melike: A real man would ignore the law, the danger, and he would have a last prayer with his mother.
Husseyn: A last prayer? Is she that bad?
Melike: She is, Husseyn. Very bad. What good is it to you to know this anyway, it’s not as if you care.
She hangs up.
Husseyn is very impactado.
Omer gets out of his car on a hill overlooking a bridge and Istanbul. He walks to a van and gets in, finding Arda and Pelin.
Omer: What’s been going on?
Omer looks at their laptop.
Arda tells him they have some good news. He notices Omer’s face and asks if he has been crying. Arda tells him he probably didn’t get much sleep, so that might be why his eyes are red.
Pelin: We were watching the tapes. Here, have a look.
The tapes are of Husseyn and his park bench. Pelin tells him he was there until morning, then someone picks him up. Omer wonders what he was doing in the park. Arda says they don’t know that.
Pelin shows that the two leave the park and cross the road, leaving the camera’s feed and that’s all they have. Arda says there are three buildings, side by side there, and he thinks Husseyn might be in one of them.
Elif is pacing in a communication room at the prison. She is waiting for Fatih, who joins her and picks up the telephone.
Fatih: Hello. You’ve had another blow, huh? You’re smart, beautiful, and you deserve to be happy but you can’t be. I’m so sad for you.
Elif: What happened Fatih? Why did you call me here?
Fatih: I’m afraid I need your help. I don’t know how, but please stop Nilufer from coming here. She feels sad. I can’t stand seeing her like that.
Elif: Nilufer’s upset because you’re in her life. If you could just leave her alone, she’d be better.
Fatih shakes his phone at her: Why are you being this way? Why can’t you bite your tongue for a minute instead of attacking and glaring at me?
Elif: I can’t help myself.
Fatih: Maybe I’m going to do you the favor of your life.
Elif: What’s the big favor?
Fatih: Omer didn’t break up with you because of the kid. He lied.
Elif: What do you mean?

Episode 119 # 4
Omer and Pelin meet Arda outside a building. Arda says the doorman didn’t see anything. Nothing out of the ordinary, you know. Omer points to another building and says that is the last one, “Let’s see what we find.”
They talk to the doorman, and Omer introduces himself with his ID. Omer shows a picture of Husseyn and asks if he’s seen him. Doorman doesn’t think so. Omer tells the doorman they have information about him being there, certain information, so he tells him to have a good look. The doorman says he was on sick leave and Suleyman was in his place. He’s inside. Omer goes inside to ask Suleyman, but they quickly turn when the doorman throws his drink and runs away.
Back at the prison, with Elif and Fatih talking by phone.
Elif: Fatih, I’m not listening to any more of this nonsense.
Fatih: Just think. Would Omer dump you…for a kid, come on! We are the same, Omer and I. We never leave the woman we love. Unless of course the world decides to go crazy and a big mistake is made. Omer wouldn’t. Listen to me, Elif. Omer wouldn’t dump you for a kid from his past.
Elif: Just talk to me plainly. Don’t play any games.
Fatih: Just think! If I told you all I knew, Omer would kill me right here. Find out. You’re a smart girl. Start tracking through clues. Investigate. Solve this mystery. You have to.
Fatih hangs up his telephone. Elif is very impactada.
Back at the apartment building, we see the doorman running away, but getting caught between Arda and Omer. The doorman says they threatened him. Omer says they should arrest him, take him downtown and beat the answers out of him ‘til morning. Arda says that sounds good to him. Omer tells the doorman he’s going to like it at the station. They don’t mess around. They get the answers the want, one way or another.
Doorman: OK, I’ll talk. The guy you asked about left with some other guys half an hour ago. That’s all I know. Arda asks where they went, but doorman says he doesn’t know. Omer is frustrated, and asks him to take him to where he stayed.
We see Husseyn in a car surrounded by henchies. He tells them he needs to go to the bathroom, and they tell him to hold it. He keeps asking and finally they pull over. One henchie is ordered to go with him, and Husseyn asks if he’s supposed to open his fly. They tell him to leave the briefcase. Omer declines. He tells them he doesn’t trust them. Husseyn walks over to a grove of trees and then takes off running. They start after him. One pulls a gun, but another henchie tells him to lower it because of the police. They get in their car to try and catch up with him. [Tayyar is going to be mad. Will he kill all of them? Big waste of resources!]
At the pink house, Elif goes into the bathroom and gets a black and gray bag out of the medicine cabinet. In it she finds a comb and finds a few of Omer’s hair strands on it along with an electric razor that has more, which she shakes out and bags.
Omer, Arda, Pelin, and a few forensic guys, all wearing gloves, walk into the apartment where Husseyn was staying. (I wonder if it’s the first one or the second one.) He tells them they aren’t leaving until they find something. Omer notices it has been all cleaned up. Omer tells Pelin to check the bathroom, toilet, etc., while Arda is to check the kitchen. After that, they will search the garbage.

Episode 119 #5
Elif rings Ipek’s doorbell. She asks if Yaz is there, but they babysitter took him to the park. Elif says she has some questions, and Ipek invites her in.
We see and hear clucking chickens and find that Husseyn is seated among them in the back of a panel truck. They are free range chickens, the chicken man says, and they make him a ton of money. Another man asks what free range chickens are. They discuss chickens and their fate a bit. Husseyn looks uncomfortable. It probably smells pretty ripe in there, too. The truck stops on a street, and driver indicates that it’s Husseyn’s stop.
Ipek and Elif share some tea. Elif tells her yesterday was a bad day, but emotions calm down as time passes and then you start to think more sensibly about things.
Ipek: Of course.
Elif: Ipek, I wanted to ask you something. How long has Omer known he is Yaz’s father?
Ipek looks uncomfortable.
We see Husseyn walking down a street with his briefcase. He puts on a baseball cap. He reaches the hospital and hears two policemen talking about a futbol game. He walks in. We see Mert and Demet outside Elvan’s room. Mert kisses Demet, which makes Husseyn nearly lose it. He heads over to them, but the door opens and Melike comes out of the room. She tells them they should go eat. She says Elvan is asleep, so they may as well. Husseyn ducks out of the way so they don’t see him. Mert says there is a sandwich place, but Melike says they don’t have to be that quick and goes to find a cafeteria. Husseyn looks after them with a wistful expression.
Back at Ipek’s, she tells Elif she is right to be angry. She tells Elif she needs to talk about it with Omer. She tells her she isn’t mad at her, just that she is in a dilemma and needs to find an answer. Ipek repeats to ask Omer.
Elif: Why are you running? There’s something bugging you. Am I right?
Ipek: Yes, I’m uncomfortable having this conversation with you.
The sitter brings Yaz back who has a complaint. He runs to “Sister Elif” who hugs him. She asks to see his room. Ipek goes outside with the sitter to hear what she wants to tell her.

Episode 119 #6
Arda, Omer, and Pelin are in the car. Pelin says she will guard their evidence. They don’t need any more setbacks. Omer is sarcastic mood. He finally asks to be dropped off at Elvan’s hospital. They drive up to leave him there.
Elvan is lying in her bed, sleeping. Husseyn comes to her, takes off his cap. He is very impactada.
Melike is trying to find a nurse, so they will watch Elvan while they go eat. Mert and Omer greet each other cautiously. Omer tells them they can eat and he’ll stay and look after her. Melike tries to convince Omer to join them, since Elvan is sleeping. He declines. He goes to the elevators and punches the buttons over and over in frustration at the slow elevators.
Husseyn is crying in Elvan’s room. He reaches over to kiss her, and she wakes up. He asks if this is all because of him. She asks how he could do it. How could he kill all those people? How could he make her the mother of a murderer? He struggles to answer.
Outside Arda’s home, Ipek is talking to the sitter who evidently didn’t have a good day with Yaz. Ipek encourages her to give him some time before she makes a decision. The sitter is firm that it’s not working. Ipek finally says she thinks the problem is that the sitter doesn’t like Yaz.
Upstairs Elif is playing barber with Yaz. She pretends to cut off hair and then actually cuts some, just as Ipek enters. Ipek wants to know what she’s doing.
Husseyn tells Elvan he was ashamed to look at their faces.
Husseyn: Did you think I wanted to be this way?
Elvan looks at him in alarm.
Husseyn: Did I want to hurt you like this? I did it Mom. I know I made a mistake. All this time I’ve wanted to get out, but the more I tried, I just sank deeper in.
Elvan: Surrender. Take your punishment.
Husseyn, shaking his head: Mother, I’m running. Jail is full of the guys I put in. They wouldn’t let me live for a second. Aine, (Mother), I wanted to ask for a last prayer. (Elvan turns away.)
Are you going to pray for your son, Mom?
Outside, Omer is talking with the doctor who says he saw her two hours ago and will return soon, after he checks on her test results.
Omer then walks to the door of the room where Husseyn is talking with Elvan. He turns the handle,…
…and that’s the end of Episode 119.

Thanks Babachita! Excellent recap of a cliff hanger episode!
I was so hoping Fatih would just tell Elif the truth! But at least he said enough to drive her suspicions. I don't know why she moved straight to cutting Yaz's hair though. Just grab a brush!! sigh.
Omer has no reason to dislike Mert that I can recall but he def didn't seem to like him near Demet. I still think those two are cute together!
I agree, Darcy. Elif had no need for the elaborate barber playacting. I wonder if Mert being Tayyar’s son might be why Omer is cool on the relationship with his niece.
Babachita
Thank you, Babachita. Outstanding recap as usual.
Huseyin told Elvan, “Anne, ben buraya helalik almaya geldim” mother, I came here to ask for your forgiveness. You often see this translated as asking for a blessing. This has significant cultural/religious meaning. He’s thinking he will never see her again. He wants to leave everything right between them. I won’t go into more detail, you can google “hakkini helal et” if you want to know more. Neyse… it’s a very big ask on Huso’s part.
ITA, wished Fatih just came out with it. And Elif playing barber was unnecessary.
Is there any episode without Nilufer crying? Lol, even Fatih is tired of seeing her cry!
I’ll have #120 up later today.
Dondi! We learn so much from you! I looked up that phrase about hakkini helal et. It is a big ask. It explains why he was so adamant to see his mother. Husseyn’s journey in this dizi is tragic.
Nilufer does cry a lot, doesn’t she?

#120 part 1
Omer is about to enter Elvan’s room. Huseyin hears the door open and jumps up against a wall. Before Omer can enter, Demet appears and calls out to him. She tells him she has to go back to work. Her mom is having tea downstairs but will stay. Omer says he will stay this evening. They say goodbye and Omer opens the door a little more. Huso is panicking.
This time, a hospital admin calls out to Omer. Are you a relative of Elvan Demir? Yes. She tells him he needs to speak with the accounting department. There is an issue with her social security insurance. They have a brief discussion. Omer says he’ll take care of it but he wants to see his mother first. He goes back to the door. The woman asks him to come now because office hours end at 5. Omer says okay and leaves with her.
Elvan calls out for Omer. Huso quiets her. Elvan tells him, where in the world will you go? You won’t find peace. The blood of those people follows you. Accept your punishment. Don’t hide. Would you really let one of your children go to prison, Huso asks. Elvan calls out for Omer again. Huso puts his hand over his mother’s mouth. She struggles against him. Please stop screaming, he tells her. I’ll take my punishment, but please stop. He doesn’t let go and Elvan passes out!
Huso cries, I just wanted to see you one last time. Mom… forgive this beast. He takes his briefcase of money and exits the room. He tells a nurse that the lady in room 206 fainted. He mumbles to himself, forgive me mother, forgive me.
Elif gathers her things to go. Ipek wants an explanation. Elif snaps, that day, with just one conversation, you destroyed my entire life. It’s normal that I’m full of doubt. Ipek asks, why are you telling me this? This past year, Omer and I went through many things, Elif answers, and if I learned anything, it’s that nothing is what it seems. I don’t believe Yagiz is Omer’s son. Ipek realizes Elif wants a DNA test. She demands that Elif give her the hair. Elif holds on to it tightly.
Tayyar is furious that the henchie let Huso get away. He’s ready to snap his neck from his hospital bed. But he pushes him to the floor instead. Call your people, Tayyar orders, it’s obvious he went to see his mother. Look for him at that hospital now! Don’t come back until you find him!
We see Huso in the hospital elevator.
A nurse tends to Elvan. Omer enters the room. He asks what happened. Elvan whispers, Huseyin came… I saw him… he ran away. Omer runs out of the room. He’s impatient to wait for the elevator so he goes to the stairs. [I was surprised that Huso didn’t take the stairs.]
Huso makes his way down the hallway while Omer bounds down the stairs. Huso exits and flags a cab across the street. Omer exits and spots his bro about to get in. Abiiiii! Huso sees him, ducks into the cab and they speed away before Omer can cross. Omer runs over to a random car, flashes his badge and IDs himself and pulls the driver out. Unfortunately, an arriving ambulance and another car block him from leaving quickly. He drives over some plastic poles to get out. The chase is on!
Ipek wants that hair! What you’re doing is illegal, she says, I could arrest you. Elif doesn’t understand her alarm. If what you say is true, you shouldn’t worry. Let’s check, I want to know. Ipek states, this is not like you. Elif fires back, I wasn’t like this until you and Omer turned my life upside down. You’re hiding the truth from me, but I will learn. Look, Ipek replies, the truth is that Omer has a son now and a new life. You should get used to it as soon as possible. It would be good if you stopped chasing after him.
#120 part 2
I won’t stop, Elif replies, because a voice inside me says this situation has nothing to do with Yagiz or you. Omer wouldn’t give up on me just because he has a son. Our love can overcome this. I will find out the truth. Be prepared for it. Elif leaves. Ipek worries.
Omer is trying to chase down the cab. He’s in contact with Pelo and Arda in the squad room. Pelo says they are waiting for camera footage.
Huso shouts for the cabbie to go faster. He tells him which way to go to avoid cameras. The driver follows directions and asks Huso to stop yelling at him. Huso asks for the driver’s phone. The driver has to swerve to avoid another car and he runs into some items at the side of the road.
Arda tells Omer they located Huso. He’s nearby. Keep going, and at the first street, turn right.
Arda and Pelo hug. He’s jubilant. We did it! We found Huseyin Demir! Pelo sinks back into her seat. She’s sad. Yes, that’s right, we found him. But what will happen now? Omer hasn’t had time to think about what happened. He’s doing his duty, but I know once Huseyin is sent to jail, the pain will come out one by one. Omer will be ruined.
Omer catches up to the accident scene. Huso isn’t there. He IDs himself to the cabbie. What happened? Where is the man you were driving? The cabbie says, don’t ask, the man was crazy. He was shouting. Was he a mafia member or something? Someone blocked our way and then they took him away in the car.
Omer asks if he saw the license plate. He couldn’t. He was trying to control his cab. Omer asks about people in the other car. Did they say anything? The cabbie says there were 3 men. Huso was shouting, where is my cousin? Take me to him. Omer asks the others at the scene if they heard anything. No one has anything significant to add. Omer tells them someone will take their statements.
Huso asks the henchies, how did you find me? The driver says they followed him from the hospital. The other henchie tells Huso that Tayyar almost killed them because he escaped. Huso says he had to go to see his sick mother. He wants to go to the airport so he can leave now.
Huso is told that’s not possible. That plane left. Organizing a flight isn’t easy, now it has to be done all over again. Pray that Tayyar is still helping you. Huso gripes and asks where they will go now. Back to the apartment? He’s told, no, your brother found it. We have a new place. Huso says to tell Tayyar if he gets caught, he’ll sing like a canary.
Omer returns to the squad room, disgusted. Huseyin escaped again! Pelo notes the good news is that he hasn’t left Istanbul. Arda says they checked the cameras and couldn’t find the car that took Huso. Omer asks to see the hospital recordings. He wants to get a picture of Huso to show immigration. Arda and Pelo look troubled. Pelo closes her laptop and says she’ll do it later. Omer insists on looking now.
Arda starts explaining. You were going to open the door, Huso was by the wall. Here’s the rest. Omer sees what Huso did to Elvan. He is horrified. Allah belanı versin… Allah belanı versin! He becomes enraged and wants to throw the laptop. Arda stops him. Omer keeps repeating this over and over. My mother could have died! She just had a heart attack! He’s not human! May God curse you, Huseyin Demir! Omer kicks a desk… a chair… and he continues to curse his bro.
He’s cornered, Pelo says, otherwise, your brother wouldn’t be capable of doing such a thing. That’s enough, Omer answers, that man is not my brother. He’s a vicious killer. Huseyin Demir is a vicious killer! From now on, I don’t have a brother. Arda tries to calm his friend down.

#120 part 3
Ipek arrives at the station and tells Omer they need to talk right away. It’s urgent.
Levent has arranged to have a DNA test for Elif. They are told it will take 6 to 8 weeks for the result. Levent asks if they can speed up the process. The person says it takes long because it is done in Mexico. [I have no idea why this must be done this way. Is it for confidentiality?]
Omer follows Ipek outside. She says this is about Elif.
Elif and Levent are outside the DNA place. He asks her if she’s okay. She’s not. He says it might be a good idea to close this chapter on Omer and look ahead. How can I close it, she replies, the doubt won’t let me do it.
Levent notes that Omer forgot about her. If he loved you, he wouldn’t have left you in the middle of nowhere in a wedding dress. She says, for now, I don’t feel like analyzing what Omer is doing. I know there’s something he doesn’t want to face. I have to find out, or I won’t be at peace. Levent asks, what will you do if you find out this is Omer’s son? If that is so, Elif replies, it wouldn’t be as complicated as I thought.
Elif asks him if there’s any news about the foundation. Yes, he says, it’s bad. Shortly after regaining consciousness, Tayyar began the process of removing you from the board. We will try the legal route so he can’t, but it’s possible he will succeed. Elif says she needs the list of his students he uses as messengers or traffickers, asap. If we get it, Tayyar will be in our hands.
Ipek urges Omer to talk to Elif. She’s going to find out the truth. Let her find out from you. Omer says that Huso is still in Istanbul. When I came to you, I thought I was far from catching him. But I was wrong. And when I catch him, Elif is going to find out everything. That will ruin my life because she will hate me. Are you sure, she asks, she could understand. Omer doubts that. My brother killed her father. There’s no fairy tale that will fix it. Omer walks away and Ipek takes out her phone.
Nedret wonders where Nilufer is. Filiz says she saw her leave quietly. She probably went to see her husband. I haven’t seen Elif either. Maybe she went to Omer. Nedret scoffs, why would she meet Omer?
Ipek calls Nedret. She tells her about Elif taking her son’s hair for a DNA test. I’m telling you so you don’t let the truth come out. Filiz wants to know what happened. May God protect us from the evil eye, this is good, Nedret says and knocks the wood table. Ipek continues to be on our side. But there’s one thing that confuses Nedret. If Ipek didn’t lie because I told her to do it, why did she do it?
Back in the squad room our group talks about next steps to catch Huso. Arda thinks he’s leaving by private plane. Pelo says going by land will be difficult. Omer thinks and says, they will get him out by sea. Arda says they are surrounded by the sea. He could leave from anywhere. How will we catch him?
Omer wants the phone records between Huso and Tayyar. He wants to make the bad guys think they believe Huso escaped. Maybe they will let their guard down. Arda wants to go look at the apartment where Huso was again.
Tolga brings boxes to Omer that were sent by Nedret. Wedding chocolates. And cards and well wishes from friends and former colleagues. A greeting from Sami. Arda notices the card from the flowers that Huseyin sent. Omer tears up the card and curses his bro.
#120 part 4
Elif and Levent enter the foundation building. She’s stopped at the front and informed that she can’t enter. She’s been suspended. She wants to at least enter to get her things, but they have already been boxed and ready for her to take. Her donation is returned, too. There was a re-vote and she’s been removed from the board of directors. All ordered by Tayyar. Levent says this is illegal. Guards come to remove them from the building. Elif and Levent leave.
Omer calls to check on his mother. She’s feeling better. Melike and Fatma are with her. He’s worried because she was unconscious and asks, what did the doctor say? Maybe it was medication or my age, Elvan replies, but I was only unconscious for a short time. Omer says, listen my beautiful mother, he will pay for every one of the pains he’s caused you. I’ll bring him to you and we’ll see if he can look you in the eye. I have to go…kisses…
Elvan cries. Melike and Fatma want to know what Omer said. Omer knows what Huseyin did to me, she replies, his heart is broken but he’s not able to say it.
Elif wants to visit Tayyar. She wants him to know it won’t be easy to get rid of her.
Tayyar’s doc says they found a donor. They can do the operation right now. Tayyar wants to sort out Huseyin’s matter first.
Omer pays Tayyar a visit. How are you, Tayyar Dundar? Tayyar answers, it doesn’t concern you, Başkomiser Omer Demir. I think it does, Omer replies, because when I lock you up, you’ll need to be healthy. I’m resting now, Tayyar says, we have nothing to discuss now, so goodbye. Omer’s not going. We’ll have a conversation, he says, the same one you had with Huseyin. He tosses a report on Tayyar’s bed.
What’s that, Tayyar asks. Phone calls between you and Huseyin. Tayyar reaches for it and Omer snatches it back. It’s interesting, Omer says. If you don’t like me being here, I can take you to the DA and the 3 of us can talk. Maybe you will be more comfortable. BTW, I want you to know the DA has been dying to talk to you. Tayyar looks concerned.
Fatih talks to a lawyer. I shot the guy 3 times. He almost died. How can he not file a complaint? The lawyer has no idea. The public prosecution will continue. Fatih thinks, of course, Tayyar Dundar will settle his own score. I don’t think so, the lawyer replies, he personally gave the order to ensure your comfort here. Fatih looks confused.
The doc and henchie leave Omer and Tayyar. How do I know you’re not deceiving me, Tayyar asks, I haven’t read what’s in your hands. Trust me, Omer replies, it’s the truth. Tayyar warns, as long as you won’t let me read that, I’m not going to talk to you. Omer assures him he will get to read it, but with the DA. Tayyar thinks if Omer had something, he would have arrested him a long time ago.
Do you admit you had contact with Huseyin Demir, Omer asks. I have nothing to do with your brother, Tayyar replies. What about the accident, Omer asks, didn’t you tell your men to pick him up? Tayyar plays dumb. Do you think I’m powerful enough to rule the word from a hospital bed? Omer says there are witnesses who heard.
#120 part 5
Tayyar looks alarmed. That’s not possible. I’m just an ordinary businessman, minding my own business. [yes, dirty business.] I have nothing to do with such things. I don’t work with thugs. I have honest employees who do their jobs. Of course, Omer replies, I can imagine. Maybe you helped Huseyin leave the country. He could be traveling right now. But I’m warning you, I won’t rest until I find him. I’ll catch him, then come for you. Get ready.
How do I make you understand that I have no connection to Huseyin, Tayyar says. Think about your boss. How many days ago was he arrested and he hasn’t said a word? Because if I had anything to do with him, doesn’t it seem logical he would have already mentioned me?
Omer leans in and smiles. You’re scared, aren’t you? I understand. Because if I were you, I’d be scared, too. Ah, and give Huseyin Demir my regards. Keep a close eye on each other. He’ll be your cellmate. Omer leaves and waits for the elevator.
Elif and Levent are in the hospital elevator. He asks, if we get that list do you think it’s a good idea for us to go to Rome for a few days? Remember we said we should prepare for the men’s collection. What do you think? Elif’s mind is elsewhere.
The elevator makes it to Tayyar’s floor. Omer opens the outer door and there’s Elif, with Levent right behind her.
And we are out.
Thanks, Dondi! Fantastic as always!
Tayyar kills his henchies faster than he can hire them...perhaps that's why he only threatened to kill the current ones. He realizes he's going to have a personnel shortage if he kills them all?
I like Ipek but she's starting to cave into the trying to get Omer stage. She shouldn't have told Nedret or even Omer about the DNA test. And Elif had a great point, Ipek probably wouldn't have tried to stop Elif or demanded the hair back if Yagiz was Omer's!
Huso covering Elvan's mouth was jarring! His hand wasn't over her nose so there's no way he could have suffocated her, but Omer is right, with her recent heart attack it's still dangerous.
Omer runs in to Elif and Levent in the elevator and after a long pause where they just stare at each other, Elif says excuse me and walks right past. Omer is aghast and asks if she now doesn’t even greet him, which is ironic coming from the guy who stood like a statue for days and said nothing. Elif stops but says nothing and Levent encourages her to ignore Omer so they can go do their jobs. Omer advances on Levent and tells him to stay in his lane and not get involved. Levent responds with I’m going to ask you not to make me angry and Omer laughs! (Darcy laughed too) Is Levent serious? What happens if I do, Omer asks. Elif tells them both to shut up and stop acting like children. She tells Levent to come on and starts walking down the hall again. Levent follows but also puts his hand on Elif’s arm and Omer is enraged. He stalks up to them again and pulls Elif away by the arm.
Omer drags Elif down the hall to a secluded spot and tries to convince her not to see Tayyar, but Elif isn’t having it. She wants Omer to leave her the hell alone and stay out of her business. Omer doesn’t want Elif to get hurt but she tells him that no one could hurt her more than him! Omer tries again, he knows Elif is angry but the police will do their jobs! Tayyar will soon go to jail. Elif should go home and keep living. Elif scoffs she doesn’t have a life left to live. Omer is impacted and says he’s just worried about her since he’s no longer with her to protect her. And who is going to protect me from you, she asks. She gives him a minute but he doesn’t respond and she says she can protect herself! Omer should stop acting like he’s some superhero. Omer notices Levent watching closely and tells Elif to tell the clown to take her home and not get mixed up with Tayyar, but Elif refuses again. Come on Levent, she says, we’re off to deal with Tayyar.
Tayyar is talking to his henchie, getting an update. Huso is finally calm and back in hiding, everything is good. Perfect, Tayyar exclaims, keep me informed. Just as Tayyar hangs up Elif comes barreling in ignoring the guard who’s trying to prevent her. Tayyar says to let Elif stay but Levent is forced back into the hall. Tayyar tells Elif he knows very well why she’s here. She and Mert used his illness to do things that don’t belong in my foundation, but he took charge of the situation. Elif warns that this time he won’t be able to stop her. Tayyar says the truth is, he doesn’t understand what Elif’s problem is. He knows she’s anxious to dedicate herself to charity work. There are many foundations that would be happy to work with her. That’s true, Elif acknowledges, there are many foundations in this country but not all of them are a criminal network.
Careful, Tayyar warns. Elif isn’t concerned, whatever happens, she’ll make sure everyone knows who he is. He destroyed her family, but he won’t do the same to others. I warn you, Tayyar barks, stay far away from my foundation, or you’ll pay dearly. Your threats are getting old, Elif declares. It doesn’t matter what you do, you won’t stop me, Tio Tayyar!
Arda is hard at work and Pelo enters with food, if you don’t eat something, you’ll faint at any moment, she tells him. Did you find something? He hasn’t found anything. Hüseyin killed three people and also Omar’s relationship, he informs her. He looks at her lovingly and says if this doesn’t stop, he’ll destroy our love too. I miss you so much, my love. Pelo is a wet blanket as always and tells him to eat so his brain will function! How can he think about love at a time like this? Pelo continues eating and starts looking at the newspaper found in Huso’s apartment. She gets to page 2 and finds something written in the corner – but it’s scratched out. She looks closer and calls Arda’s attention to it. She can’t read it but he is able to make it out. They are numbers! Pelo wonders what they mean but Arda doubts they are lottery numbers; it’s a telephone number! But their eyes light up, they have a lead.
Elif is determined to go to the foundation but Levent wants her to stop and think. They have lots of security there, how does Elif plan to get in. Elif says she’ll make something up but as they turn to the car, Omer is there again wanting to talk. Elif ignores him and gets in the car while Levent tells him to leave her alone. He tries to go around to his side of the car but Omer pushes him out of the way, gets in and locks the door! Elif asks what he thinks he’s doing and Omer tells her to start the car because he’s going with her. No way. Omer says not to be like that and calls her Senorina, but she says not to call her that. Omer insists he will always call her that and she should get used to it because he’s always going to go where she goes and be with her. Elif scoffs, in what role? He’s not her friend or her lover, who is it sitting by her? Omer says he’s someone who wants her to think things through but Elif rejects that. He means nothing to her and there’s no place for him beside her. Get out, she orders! Omer sadly complies.
Omer turns to Levent and says listen, if you really care about Elif, you won’t let her get into trouble. Ah, and if you so much as touch her, even with your eyes, I’ll be your problem. Levent looks straight up amused and he looks over at Elif with his eyes, he smirks and gets in the car.
Elif is out of bravado and as they are driving away, she breaks down sobbing. Levent tries to comfort her and assure her that he’s here for her and won’t leave her alone but she doesn’t care about him of course. She does end up crying on his shoulder and I’m sure he likes that.
Omer is also driving and he remembers Elif saying, you mean nothing to me. He kisses his ring twice.
Nilu is visiting Fatih in jail and guess what, she’s crying! She rambles on and on about how hard this situation is. It’s so hard to be so close to him and not be able to touch him. She dreams of him every night, and thinks of him all day. For God’s sake, stop, Fatih orders. He’s pissed; he told her not to come and told Elif to keep her away. Nilu says she can’t bear not seeing him but Fatih can’t bear watching her cry. Every time she comes she just cries!! He can’t take it, Tayyar might not be pressing charges but the prosecutor will and he’ll be there at least five years, what does she want from him? She wants things to go back to like before but that’s crazy, he’s going to be in jail, how can they be like before. He’s got so many pressures and worries and dangers of jail on his shoulders, he can’t take her crying on top of everything else. If she’s going to come, he needs her to be strong and stand by his side, can she do that? If not, she needs to stay home!
Levent and Elif arrive at a café. She’s not hungry but he says they need to eat something. Elif really doesn’t want to and Levent says maybe something sweet. They can discuss their next steps. Elif reluctantly sits and Levent orders. Espresso with milk, right? He asks Elif but she doesn’t answer. He turns to the man taking his order, ‘Two espressos with milk, and also one lemon cake and one tiramisu for the lady.’
Levent tries to tell Elif that her pain will pass. He’s been through this himself. At first, it’s terrible one feels terribly hurt, but it will pass, because you can’t live with that kind of pain. Elif says the pain of separation isn’t like that of death. When someone you love dies, something in you disappears. But death is part of life so you accept it, get used to it, and continue living with the memories. You keep living. But when you separate from someone you love, it hurts as if they had died but you know they’re alive. You see them at any moment; if you go and hug them, they smell the same, you kiss them and the kiss is the same. Then the hands that once caressed you become distant. When will this end? How can I forget?
Omer returns to the station and announces ‘I’m here.’ Why are you looking at me like that? He asks when Arda and Pelo just stare. What’s so important that they couldn’t even tell him over the phone? They give him the news they found a phone number among the things in the apartment. Whose is it, Omer asks. He’ll be happy to know that number belongs to Burak, the owner of a boat in Anadolu Marina. Omer is thrilled, they’ve found their man!
Elif declares she’s going to become a member of that foundation again. She needs to, to get that list. Levent says no way, He agrees with Omer in this one thing, it is dangerous. Levent says he’ll never let her do something like that. Elif is unfazed, she’ll ask Mert to help her. Levent’s phone rings and he walks away to take the call. It’s Nedret and she’ll thrilled when she hears Levent hasn’t been able to take her calls because he’s with Elif. She says to come by the house when he and Elif are finished because she has something she wants to discuss with him. Levent agrees and hangs up.
Omer is impatient, what’s going on? Is there a problem with the system? Well, if there’s a problem, we’ll restart the computer and that’s it. Pelo tells him there’s no problem. Getting confirmation takes time. She’s connected with the telephone operator. Omer says every second feels like an eternity while we wait here. Omer tells Adra, I suppose they sent someone to check the boat area, and Arda agrees but there was no one there, not even the boat. More frustration but then an officer arrives to informed them that they found the photo of the person Omer asked about, and we also found this (This is some documents we don’t see). Very good, Omer declares, go check if the address is still valid. Dude agrees and leaves.
The documents are copies of the ID of their suspect but the photo isn’t recent. Omer says the man changed identity papers fifteen years ago. They need a recent photo. He tells Arda to check his workplace and social networks; maybe they’ll find something there. Arda agrees, he’ll handle it and let the team know. Pelo says wait, I’ve got him and his coordinates. Omer compares and sees that the address is valid and the guy is home! Let’s go!
Elif goes to see Mert. Mert asks how she is and tells her he never knows what to say in these types of situations (breakups) that’s why he didn’t call. Elif says she needs his help and if he helps her, she’ll feel better. Mert says he’ll do anything he can but his face falls when he learns it’s about the foundation and Elif wants help getting back in to get a copy of the list she needs. Mert can’t do that. He wants his father to forget about him so he can start a new life. If he does something like that, he’ll never leave him alone. Mert made her a member of the foundation, but that’s very different from stealing a document. Please understand me, he says to Elif and she says she understands. Mert asks if she’s angry but she says no, she truly understands he’d be taking a huge risk going against Tayyar. Elif will find another way to get it.
Levent calls Elif and asks if she talked to Mert and what did he say? Elif tells him that he said he doesn’t want problems with his father. Levent asks if she’s still going to try to get into the foundation. And Elif says of course not. How could she? She’s not crazy. (Not sure I believe this denial) The camera pans to Mert and he looks like he’s having second thoughts.
Levent hangs up and Nedret greets him. She asks if he was talking to Elf, he was and she’s glad he’s doing what she asked and Levent confirms he’s trying to make sure Elif is never alone. Nedret thinks this is very good and Levent should go a step further and help with the DNA test. She wants to know all about it, where did they go to get it? Levent wonders how Nedret even knows but she shocks him even more by admitted that Ipek told a big lie. The child isn’t Omer’s son. She says that Ipek is asking her to make things right. If Levent tells her the name of the company they went to, she might find a way to intervene. Levent is confused, she wants to change the DNA test results? Why would she do that, Elif is her niece and unfortunately, she loves Omer very much. Nedret says Levent is right, Elif is in love with Omer but there’s something much more important Omar isn’t in love with Elif. Levent on the other hand, does love her. This is your last chance to be with Elif and keep Omer at bay, Nedret says.
Mert does have a change of heart and he calls the receptionist at the foundation. He tells her he heard about the problem is Elif that day. The receptionist says he knows she can’t go against his father’s wishes and Mert assures her he understands. However, Miss Elif is a very close friend and he’d like her treated differently. If she should return, he says, call me and not my father. The receptionist agrees.
Our detectives including Tolga arrive at the home of the suspect. Omer tells them how to split up, Arda is coming with him. Pelin will watch from the front, Tolga is going to the opposite side of the street. They wish each other luck.
Nedret tells Levent this is your last chance to get what you really want. Or will he just let her go like that? Levent tells Nedret he’ll send you the address and the phone number by text, but he looks torn. Nedret says, Levent, my son, don’t feel bad about what you’re doing. Trust me it’s wonderful that you’re so close to everything. It will be better when you see Elif happy with you. You’ll realize you made the right decision. I just ask you to trust me. Believe me. Levent hopes so, does Nedret really think it’s possible to change the DNA results? Nedret laughs (and sounds like she’s old hat at this) just wait and see, she says.
Oscur is talking to Tayyar on the phone when Omer and Arda arrive. They only hear the news on the TV though. They ring the bell but no one answers. After a few tense seconds Omer speaks out calling for him and announcing them as cops. Still no answer, but they hear running and figure out the guy is trying to escape. Omer shoots the lock on the door and he and Arda rush in and clear the apartment. They find nothing but Omer finds a stair well in the back. He yells out to Arda, the guy is escaping out the back! He runs after him. After chasing him down several flights he calls and warns Pelo that the guy is coming out the stair well in the back! Hurry! Pelo runs to the back of the building and makes a mistake she’s too seasoned to have realistically made, she runs right into the door as the guy pushes it open and gets hit. She gets up quickly and gives chase but the guy is way ahead. She yells stop or I’ll shoot but she doesn’t. The foot chase is on and for a minute he gets past Tolga and all the others but eventually Arda and Omer get him trapped. They are thrilled they got their man. They threaten to shoot him again but end up cuffing him and taking him away.
Some henchie tells Tayyar everything is ready, Osur is taking care of everything – little do they know.
Omer, Pelo and Arda take Osur to some abandoned train yard and play bad cop, worst cop and good cop (Pelo). Both Arda and Omer hit the dude and demand he talk but this dude knows his rights and refuses to talk. Eventually, Arda says they have to stop because the boss is calling them it’s an emergency – this seems highly unlikely, isn’t their boss Ali in jail? They decide they are going to leave Osur there locked in a room for an hour and then come back??? This has to be a trap. Osur escapes easily and after he steals a car and takes off, we see it is indeed a trap! Omer knew he wouldn’t talk, so they are following him instead. The three amigos congratulate themselves on their rouse.
Elif calls the foundation of Tayyar pretending to be an architect and asking for the building plans so they can prepare their design ideas for Tayyar before their meeting with him. She gets nowhere but Asli arrives and hears her using a fake name so she knows something is up.
Osur arrives at the boat and the guy says he had him worried. Don’t ask, Osur says, I’ll tell you later there was a small problem. Come on, let’s not waste time. The second dude tells him Tayyar called nonstop but he doesn’t know he was gone and they didn’t tell him anything.
Omer and Co arrive too and cut the lights in their van. They see that they’ve already started the preparations. The hour is near, Omer declares and surely the guests are about to arrive. We’re close, Hüseyin Demir. We’re very close.
