#45 part 1

We are starting with a small edit: Seyran has prepared the salad. She looks through the glass doors and watches Ferit grilling the meat outside. We see a slight smile from her. She goes outside, and he gives her a piece to try. He eats some, too. They are all smiles.

Seyfer finish dinner. Why are you doing this, she asks, why do you want to fix this? Not that you’re going to be able to. Why try? You didn’t go abroad, you kidnapped me and brought me here. I don’t understand why. What do you want? You think I did all that for you, he replies, in your dreams…don’t be ridiculous. I did it for grandpa. She scoffs, you’re doing it for him. I doubt he’ll give in.

Ferit says, you act like you know him better, but I know he has a heart like cotton wool. If I have a serious talk with him and tell him, “Dear grandpa, Seyran is pregnant”… she interjects—what?! It’s just an example, he clarifies, I’m speaking hypothetically. She’s ticked. Don’t even think about lying to your grandpa about that.

Relax, Ferit replies, right now that’s not true. But it will be later. We promised grandpa we’d give him a grandchild. He reminded me of it when he was in the hospital. [IIRC, he didn’t.] We have no choice. Who do you think you’re talking to, she answers, am I a breeding animal? Go with your girlfriend and give your grandfather what he wants so badly. I told you I don’t want you, but you didn’t understand. I went back to my father’s house, and you still don’t understand.

Ferit says, until now, what have you done without wanting to? Be honest with yourself. Seyran asks, so what have I done? You’re always there to help me when I need it, he replies. You were there when I was sick and waited by my bedside for hours. When I wanted to go to America, you came to the airport and kissed me for hours. He laughs, that’s what I mean.

Seyran mocks, how sweet. Have you been writing these things in your diary? “Today Seyran touched my hand accidentally. Seyran sat next to me.” Oh my dear… pathetic. Feritciğim, I’ll say it again, I returned to my father. You couldn’t leave, but I did. Okay? You kidnapped me and brought me here despite that. And you can give your grandpa a grandchild if you want. I’m sure there are a lot of candidates who would want to have Ferit Korhan’s baby. Then why Seyran as if she’s the only one, she asks.

Ferit replies, because you will make the most beautiful mother, kariciğim. That’s true, she admits, but unfortunately, you are not destined to see this. Okay, he answers, we’ll see, and you will be surprised. Whatever you say, she says, it doesn’t matter.

Seyran says she’s tired and asks where she will sleep. What’s the rush, Ferit gripes, we’re having a nice conversation. Usually, two people talk in a conversation, she snaps back, you are having a nice conversation, not me. He asks, what’s the problem? She replies, you’re trying to fix something you can’t, and I don’t want to listen to you anymore. My father is stubborn and so is your grandpa. This can never be resolved.

Okay, Ferit says, if you don’t think I understand, that’s fine. Do you want to bet on it? She rolls her eyes. Not again. What do you want to bet? He proposes, if I win, if my grandpa and your father get together, you’ll come back to the house, okay? Seyran says that’s ridiculous. In their eyes, you’re still a spoiled little child. He asks, do you want to see what a spoiled child can do?

#45 part 2

Empty promises, Seyran says. Then take the bet, Ferit tells her. She accepts. He’s got a great idea if he wins and says, you have to kiss me. What? You have to kiss me, he repeats. But longer than the one you gave me at the airport. What do you mean, she asks. This is a bet, he replies, and if you win you can choose your prize. Whatever you want. She asks, whatever I want? Ferit says yes, I’ll do whatever you want. He’s so sure of himself. She states she wants to enroll in college immediately. He agrees.

Ferit smiles, I can picture that kiss now… it’s going to last so long. Very long. We’ll see what comes next after that, God willing. Before they shake on it, Ferit has a condition. You’re not going to try to stop me or anything like that, okay? I hope it doesn’t come to that, she replies, I’ll do my best. They shake. Seyran says, now tell me where I’m going to sleep.

Edit: Kazim is pacing and Hattuc is getting dizzy watching him, he’s wandering like an itchy donkey. What can I say, he replies, if I spit up, it lands on my moustache, if I spit down it lands on my beard. Hattuc complains, we haven’t had a wink of sleep. Just forget it. There’s nothing you can do about it now. Let’s see how things are in the morning.

What morning, Kazim answers, there’s no time. I can’t digest Halis’ words. I can’t swallow them! He told us to go back to the chicken coop! Are we roosters? He shouted—marabalar! Just like that (he imitates Halis)—marabalar! There’s no way out, let everything break! That maniac Ferit arrived, took the girl over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and carried her away. As if I can’t get the girl back.

Hattuc reminds him that Seyran is Ferit’s legal wife. Don’t worry, your reputation will remain intact. Your damat got out of control, but it worked out well. If they had separated suddenly, then you would hear the gossip. What else can they say to us, Kazim asks, the scandalous acts were already published in the papers, weren’t they? Hattuc laments, ah, Halis, ah… was it necessary to do this?

Kazim picks up on the fact that she didn’t use Halis’ title. He questions her—what relationship do you have that you call him “Halis”? Does he call you “Hatice”? Don’t annoy me this late at night! You’re acting like a girl! He zeroes in on her—what kind of relationship do you have with Halis Aga?

Hattuc shuts that down. After all this, I should call him “ağa”? Lucky if I say his name correctly! But I’ll keep quiet for his sake. Kazim yells for Esme to make coffee with less sugar. He threatens to smash the coffee pot on her head. End edit.

Suna calls Abidin! She’s been crying. They exchange greetings and he asks, did something happen? I can’t get through to Ferit or my sister. I was worried. I thought you might know something. Are they alright? Abi says, Ferit hasn’t responded to my calls, but don’t worry, they will take care of each other. He asks, how are you? Has Kazim Bey calmed down? No, she replies, it’s not so easy this time. We finished packing and we’re returning to Antep, without looking back.

You can’t leave, Abi quickly responds. [I think she’s pleasantly surprised to hear this.] He backtracks a bit… what I mean is… Seyran and Ferit will resolve everything and you’ll be able to stay. Inshallah, Suna says and starts to cry. I got used to this place and I don’t want to go back. He asks, are you crying? Yes, she replies, this is a lot to deal with. But talking to you makes me feel better. I wish I could be with you right now, he tells her. A tear falls from his eye. I can’t offer much, but at least I would be a companion to your tears. I’m sorry to bother you, she says, I have to hang up now. Good night.

#45 part 3

I can’t believe they edited out Seyfer’s sleeping arrangement at the mountain house! I see no valid reason for it. This is a huge mistake! After a big fuss, they end up sharing a bed with strict conditions set by Seyran. In the morning, she wakes up in Ferit’s arms! And her reaction? I think it’s a must see. I can’t do it justice with a recap.

This version has auto translated English CCs available. Not perfect but good enough.

Latif brings Halis’ breakfast to his room. He says he’s not hungry. Latif urges him to eat. Doctor’s orders. Halis asks, do you think I overreacted last evening? Was I too angry? Tell me. Lately, I have turned back into my old self, when I had trouble controlling my emotions. Latif answers, Ağam, Kazim Bey deserved to hear everything you said. You’ve been very patient with him and he crossed the line. Halis worries, do you think he told Hatice everything I said? Latif tells him not to think about it and goes to get his meds.

Edit: Gulgun tries calling Ferit. No answer. Orhan says at least we know he’s with his wife. Gulgun would just like to hear her son’s voice. She heads to breakfast and asks hubby, are you coming? He gives himself a little pat down. Have you seen my wallet? They both take a quick look around. She says to look later, or they’ll be late for breakfast. [I wonder where it could be? Lol] End edit.

Edit: Kazim has Esme massaging his feet. The poor woman is half asleep. Hattuc wonders if they ever went to bed last night. He complains that Seyran still isn’t home. She reminds him Seyran is with her husband and tells him to stop making things worse for himself.

Hattuc asks Esme if the packing is done. Just a bit more Esme says. Kazim blows up at her and sends her off to finish. And then he goes on another rant about getting kicked out. Did anyone even call, he grouses, did anyone apologize? Hattuc says she had a sleepless night thinking about this. He tells her she should have heard those words in person. You would have had a heart attack, God protect you! He hugs her and kisses her on the head. Then he hollers for Esme to make breakfast. End edit.

Ferit gets up and sees Seyran in the kitchen making breakfast. He strolls over to her with a big smile. Good morning… you got up so early in the morning to make breakfast for your husband? I’m making it for myself, she replies. Don’t lie, he says, we know very well you don’t like breakfast. “Yes, my husband, I’m making a wonderful breakfast for you.” Would it kill you to say that?

Seyro turns to him. First, I always cooked breakfast in Antep. Seeing the kitchen made me realize I missed cooking. Second, I don’t want you to faint if your blood sugar drops. So, if you think about it, I’m cooking for myself. And you claim I’m the selfish one, he replies. You’re selfish even though I know you’re lying. Believe what you want, Feritciğim, she answers.

There were slight edits to this part. I’ll give you the original. They start bringing food to the table and Ferit continues to joyfully tease her. You are so sweet this morning, he says, I see you must have slept well. I slept as usual, she replies. He complains, Seyran, my right arm hurts… like it’s numb. He shakes it out and says, I wonder why. She avoids looking at him and answers, you must have slept on it. Was that me… or you, he asks. It was you, she quickly responds and walks away.

golden
#45 part 4

Admit it for once, he exclaims, “I slept well last night, Feritcigim. Sleeping with you was wonderful! What a night that was! Oh my God, what I experienced!” What if you made me happy with these words? You’re joking, right, she responds, how can you exaggerate so much and praise yourself like that? Okay, so I exaggerate, he replies. He grabs her shoulders—my dear wife, my wife! What a wonderful breakfast she prepared for me! Mashallah!

Seyran notes that Ferit is very cheerful this morning. Ferit draws a heart with his hands and says it’s because it’s such a beautiful day. We are alone. He stops her as she passes. He takes her hair and sniffs it… ah, your sweet scent. Plus, I woke up with a head filled with great plans. What great plans, she asks. Ferit makes a thinking pose. Are you ready? Here it comes. We will bring everyone here for New Year’s dinner. She laughs.

Ferit asks, what’s so funny? She asks, who is everyone? He answers, everyone… my grandpa, your father and everyone in the yali. We will create such an atmosphere in the house that all resentments will be forgotten. We will enter the new year with new hopes. I don’t think so, she replies, all this extra oxygen didn’t do you any good. All your plans are ridiculous, but this one is the most ridiculous of all.

If it sounds ridiculous, then it benefits you, he says. This way, you will win the bet. Or maybe, you’re afraid to kiss me? He boops her nose. She swats him—idiot! Stop talking nonsense so early in the morning. I’m not going to help you. Let’s see how many people you can convince to come. Ferit says, don’t be a spoilsport. I’m not asking you to convince my grandpa or your dad. Just help me out a bit with the organization. With all that’s happened, we almost forgot to celebrate the new year. Wouldn’t you be sad?

golden
#45 part 5

Seyran tells Ferit, I don’t know, we never celebrated the new year. Are you kidding, he asks. No, it’s true, she replies. Once the teacher gave us homework. We had to say how we spent the new year…. She pauses and looks sad. Ferit asks, and? Forget it, she answers. He wants her to finish the story.

Seyran continues, we were forbidden from celebrating even though my father would go out with his friends to celebrate. My sister and I would imagine having a tree with lights. That year we wanted to do an imaginary celebration, so I’d have something to turn in as homework. It would have been as if we really celebrated.

We see a flashback with young Seyran and Suna. Seyran narrates, we didn’t have a tree, but we could draw one. I remember drawing a tree with lights. I drew so many ornaments on it and put a star on top. My mother would watch us draw. She really liked our drawings. She’d hug us. Suddenly, my dad walked in. He was upset. “Where are you? Where are you hiding? I’m home and no one was there to greet me. What are you doing?”

Seyran continues, he told us our crayons were for school, not to have fun. He said, “crayons are expensive. Wasting time drawing, means you’re not studying.” Ferit asks, did he do anything after that? Seyran hesitates… he got upset and yelled at us. He didn’t hit us though.

Flashback Kazim starts ranting. You have too much free time. What is this? Pictures of useless things, trees, gifts, houses. You should be studying! You know very well that celebrating this day is forbidden! A tree with lights? We don’t celebrate New Year! It's a day for infidels, you ungrateful brats! I won’t allow it! He destroys the pictures and continues shouting. These notebooks are expensive! All you do is cost me money! I come home and there’s no food and no one to greet me! He pushes everything off the table and orders Esme to lock up the crayons. Drawing is forbidden! The girls cry.

Present day Seyran cries at the memory. Our drawings were torn to pieces. All of my classmates talked about how they celebrated at home, and I smiled and lied. Ferit listens intently.

And we are out.

I’m doing #46 and will post sometime Tuesday.

Dondi, your info is so great. When i can manage I go back and watch Turkish episodes because I love seeing what’s cut and listening to all the music! This part is enjoyable. I was so sad about the crayons.

It’s too bad those two can’t have some time alone to themselves. Thank you Dondi and Novelera. This tale is so complicated. I have come to care about so many of the characters.

Thanks a million, dondi, for the excellent recap and the wonderful scene of Seyran and Ferit SLEEPING TOGETHER!!! I totally agree. Why in the world would Telemundo include that awful scene with Kazim verbally abusing his children and leave out the snuggle. I couldn't manage to get English subtitles, but I certainly got the gist.

So far Ferit's plan is working perfectly. He said they needed to get to know each other. Mostly it's ribbing each other. But both of them are more relaxed. And they are spared the constant observation of all of Ferit's family...and Yusuf.

Halis really did cut Kazim to the quick with his calling of Kazim a peasant. And he was sort of thinking he'd overdone it with Latif. Latif assured him he was right and I, of course, loved every minute of the roaring at Kazim. But I can't stop wondering how they'll come back from this.

Golden

Dondi, I so appreciate your extras. Unfortunately the links need to be copied and pasted which is practically impossible to do from my phone so I don't watch your suggestions, but you paint a wonderful picture of what happened in the cut scenes I feel like I've watched them myself.

I can't believe kazim ranted about the cost of crayons! One of the least expensive items you can buy for children. He is my least favorite character. I'm amazed his girls aren't more psychologically damaged than they appear on the surface.

Too bad the newlyweds don't stay at the mountain cabin and bond together. Living under the same roof as the rest of the family is hard on a relationship. Do Turkish couple have honeymoons? This could be there honeymoon location.

"LOBO"
Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. My personal thoughts on last night's episode.

*Jackass Big Ed finds out about his son on the DL & freaks out.

*Earlier in the episode, Slippery Cruz catches the secret lovers & gets pissed off LOL.

*Buji Goldie Locks finds out about something while walking to the house. The maid has to pick up the groceries sigh.

*Slippery Cruz & Co., barged into Eugenio's house & arrest Antonia.

*Lobo, Adela, Hugo find out about Antonia getting arrested. Of course, Lobo confronts Slippery Cruz.

*Looking forward to seeing the Karma anvils in store for Lady Macbeth.

Thanks Dondi for your link to the episode with the cuddling scene. I took a peek and enjoyed it, and I am not even watching this dizi. I just glance at the recaps here from time to time. Not sure I could stand to watch Kazim for very long.

golden

Thanks everyone.

I think we agree that if Seyfer were able to live on their own, away from their toxic families, they could have a beautiful life together.

Ah, Kazim. He is the opposite of the meaning of his name. Someone with patience and self-control. But if you separate his name into 2 parts, “kaz” is a goose, and the “im” signifies first person singular. I think that’s a more fitting description for him.

To my pleasant surprise, there had been no edits since the first couple of episodes. I can’t fathom the reason for edits at this point, especially the ones that show Seyfer’s relationship. Turkish episode 15 was one of the best in the first season. It had stellar ratings. Neyse…

I realize the links to edits and songs are long. I don’t know how to do a hyperlink alias in a comment on blogger. If anyone knows, please share.

Kat, I don’t know how it works on a phone, but from a desktop/laptop you can highlight, “right click” and choose “go to” or “open”, you don’t have to cut/copy and paste. I am amazed at how well you are able to watch, recap and/or comment from a tiny phone. No way I could do that.

Also, you can find whole Turkish episodes of Yalı Çapkını with auto translated CCs on YouTube if you search “Yalı Çapkını Özlenen Bölümler” (no need to type the diacritics). I can give you the episode number and start time for any edits, if you want. All 101 episodes can be found in the playlist. To get the CCs on the video, click CC, click settings, captions, auto translate, and pick English from the list.

Lobo
Ep #45
Monday, April 27, 2026

Antonia and Eugenio are in an SUV outside of Miranda's compound, ready to follow Miranda's caravan as she leaves. But Alejandro's security squad pulls guns on them and has them get out of the SUV and come into the house. Eugenio goes to work on a puzzle with Renata while Antonia and Alejandro talk. Antonia is frank in saying that Miranda is a problematic mother for Renata. Alejandro tells Antonia not to come back to see Renata.

The death of Carlos has been blamed on Azufrero. Leonor tells Cruz that she had Carlos killed. Cruz is aghast that she would do that. Pot calling kettle black.

Miranda and her convoy show up at her old home to confront Azufrero. Both come to the street gate with squads of men. They have the men stand down and they go inside for a convo. Miranda and Azufrero discuss the treasure - whether to share, or not. They determine that they have a mutual enemy in Antonia, and they plot to put Antonia in prison. As a parting gift, Miranda tells Azu about his son Misael and Cesar Cruz's relationship. When Miranda leaves, Azu asks Misael about his relationship with Cesar Cruz and slaps him hard. He then kicks Misael out of the house.

Earlier, Cruz had walked in on Misael and Cesar talking and getting ready to kiss. Cruz does not catch on. Cesar does tell his mother about Misael. She says basically that his life as a gay person (esp. in Mexico) will be hard. Also, Cesar picked the wrong guy to have a relationship with, as Misael is the son of a crook. That looks bad, especially since Cruz is the DA and running for Governor.

Agustin, the new p.r. flak for Cruz, warns Graciela about Carlos' death. Graciela comes across Lobo while both are at the Fiscalia, and they have a chat. She is scared, and wants Lobo's help. She begs pardon for accusing him earlier. I believe Graciela wants Lobo's help in talking to Miranda to take Graciela in, as she wants to leave Azufrero and knows that it is dangerous to do so.

Cruz and the police show up at Antonia's house and arrest her for obstruction of justice and being an accomplice of Azufero. All this is a frame job. Cruz brings Antonia in handcuffs to the Fiscalia. Lobo and Adela confront Cruz about Antonia's arrest. End episode.

Lobo

Steve - I just saw your comments above.

My Spanish isn't good enough to know if Cruz is realizing that Misael and Cesar are lovers, but he definitely was unhappy that Cesar was friends with the son of Cruz's enemy, and that Misael is probably a crook since Azufrero is.

Graciela dropped the bag of groceries she was carrying when she took the call from Augustin the p.r. guy. Agustin told her about Carlos' assassination.

I want the karma anvils to fall on Miranda.

I wonder how Antonia gets out of this mess of serious (but bogus) charges against her.

Anastasia, I have not yet seen the episode. I don't like to read recaps until after I've done so. My DVR did a weird thing last night. It failed to record. As I often do, I decided to watch it at 10:30 PM, the better to skip commercials. Well it wasn't there. It began to record at the halfway point, and I just went back to my book, deciding to watch it online the next day. Still haven't done so. I'm reading up a storm trying to finish a longer book than I realized for this Thursday night's book club.

Golden Boy – Yali Capkini – Poder y Traicion
Episode 46 #1 of 9
“A Tense Encounter”

We start with a recap of the ending of Episode 45 where Seyran tells an incredulous Ferit about growing up with no New Year’s Eve celebration, not even a tree. She and Suna as children drew their imaginary trees one time when Kazim came home and tore them up furiously, saying they wasted the crayons which were only for learning. He was angry and yelled, but this time they weren’t beaten. Seyran describes how all her classmates described the decorations and celebrations they had at home, and she says she lied with a smile about having something similar, telling about their tree, which never existed, which they decorated with bright lights and ornaments with presents under the tree. The faux gift from her father was a box of crayons of many colors. She told her classmates that she left them at home because she didn’t want to lose them. “That’s how I lied.” [I wonder if Kazim’s objection to New Year’s was because he was so cheap and didn’t want to spend money on the celebration or if, as he said, it was heresy. Actually, now that I think of it, it is surely because he was so cheap.] After listening, Ferit finally becomes convinced that Seyran is telling him more of the truth of the cheerless conditions she grew up in. She tells him that after that day, they never tried to celebrate again. Ferit looks like he is developing an idea after hearing this. His ideas are often lots of fun (like Suna and the rug)! Fingers crossed!
Ferit: Your awesome and wonderful husband will make sure that dream comes true, darling. It will be better than you can imagine and your family will be there. It’ll be the perfect way to start the year. [I love watching Ferit when he’s thinking up something like this. I think it’s his true nature, but he gets distracted and reacts, ending up being a jerk much of the time.]
Seyran: The dream that I described, that I imagined, could only be in my head, not here, Ferit.
Ferit: There’s a difference. I wasn’t in your life back then.
Seyran: Let’s say you are able to convince your family, how will you convince mine?
Ferit: Leave that to me, sis.
Seyran: Sis?
[The use of “sis” seems odd, but perhaps it has to do with her description of this experience with her sister.]
Ferit: You’ll see. I’ll take care of it. But first, let’s have breakfast and rest a bit more. Afterward we’ll go shopping and everything will be great. Trust me. Where’s the tea? No tea for breakfast? What am I going to eat?
Seyran: I brought you a fork.
Ferit: A fork. Bravo, Seryan, you brought a fork.
Seyran sits looking thoughtful.

Back at the yali, Fuat, Asuman, Ifakat, Gulgun, and Orhan are having breakfast. Gulgun gets a text and smiles. Fuat fusses that she never lets them bring their phones, and here she is using hers. Ifakat tells him it’s a special occasion. Her son kidnapped his wife, and she wants to know where Ferit is. Gulgun tells them not to worry, that Ferit and Seyran are at the country house. Asuman asks if it isn’t nearly empty. Orhan says yes, because they almost sold it. Orhan asks what Ferit is telling her.
Gulgun: The kid’s lost his mind. He’s going to plan a New Year’s party and we’re all invited.

Episode 46 #2 of 9
Ifakat: You think this is the best time?
Orhan: Maybe it is, to lighten the atmosphere.
Asuman: It’s a good idea. The family could use the fresh air.
Gulgun: If it’s like that, we’ll enjoy it, though he dropped it like a bomb on me. Everyone get ready. (She sighs.) He’s also invited Mr. Kazim. Everyone is invited as well (she tells the servants). Notify your mother and Sefika.
Fuat: So, we’re having a big party tonight?
Ifakat: They’re out of their minds. There’s no way to convince Mr. Halis to go.
Gulgun: Orhan and I should talk to Kazim and his family to convince them to go. You just have to make it happen (she says with a smile).
Ifakat: You don’t seem to get it. We’re not convincing him to attend. I hope he doesn’t ask me what we’re doing tonight to celebrate.
Gulgun picks up her phone again: I should call Ferit again for more information.
We see her enter her rooms, telling Ferit not to worry. They hang up. Orhan tells her that it will be impossible. She tells him she doesn’t know that.
Gulgun: I believe in my son. Are you jealous that he’s only spoken to his beloved mother? (She laughs saying this in jest.)
Orhan chuckles: Even if he had called, I wouldn’t have heard it because I put my phone on silent before going to bed.
He thinks of something and goes to get his phone from the nightstand. They discuss the fact that he no longer has a wallet, but instead it is now in his phone.

At the vacation house, Seyran walks out on the patio smiling. She is watching Ferit, the magician, out by the pool waving his arms as he makes lots of calls in order to bring about his miracle. She grins, as did I, watching him.

At the Sanli home, Kazim is mulling over the latest events. Hattuc joins him. He tells her that his daughter has still not called him, look at the time.
Kazim: We don’t know why that idiot took her or to where.
Hattuc: It doesn’t matter what they do. They’re a couple.
Kazim: Even if they’re married, I want to know. Where are you going? Aunt? Answer me? Why aren’t you answering me? Where are you sneaking off to, all bundled up?
Hattuc: I’m suffocating in here and need fresh air.
Kazim: Fresh air? There’s plenty on the terrace. You’re going somewhere else. Tell me where.
Hattuc: Stay out of it, Kazim. Don’t treat me like a child.
Kazim: Listen, aunt, I’m only telling you because you’re unfamiliar with this city. Where are you going? Don’t let it be what I’m thinking. The only place you know how to get to is that yali. If you’re going there, it’ll be over my dead body.
Hattuc: If that’s what it takes. Let me go! That’s right. I’m going to speak to Halis right now. I want him to repeat to my face what he said about our family.
Kazim: So you’re going to reproach him?
Hattuc: When you were still an innocent child, he’d sit at our table and eat. That’s why I’m doing it. I want to see if he can repeat those shameful words to my face.

Kazim: I think it’s a bad idea. That man has no loyalty or shame. And if he offends you again, you’ll make a murderer of me. It’s not fair because you know what I’d have to do if he offends me. Besides, you probably can’t get there by yourself and you know I won’t go with you.
Hattuc: Orhan and Gulgun are coming to our house to speak with you. The car that’s bringing them will take me to the yali.
Kazim: Oh, so that’s his plan. Pathetic.
Suna joins them: Aunt?
Hattuc: Where were you?
Kazim: Where’s she going? Why are you taking Suna there?
Hattuc: Seyran left her clothes at the yali. If Mr. Halis doesn’t have the decency to take back what he said, we’ll pack her clothes and return to Antep, just like you said.
Kazim reacts to this: No, no! He needs to apologize to me first, then to my father. We’ll see if Allah forgives that disloyal man.
Hattuc: Listen, he hasn’t called yet. That’s why I have to go. After that let the chips fall where they may.
Kazim: It shouldn’t be like that, but since you have your mind set to it and you’re stubborn, then go, go, go, and for the love Allah, don’t get more involved with that man. I’ll remind you that if he insults you again, my only option will be to kill him. Out of respect, I couldn’t tell him everything he deserved. Tell him on my behalf to respect our family.
Hattuc nods: Also, Seyran is fine. Ms. Gulgun told me.
Kazim reacts to this: She’s OK? Ok? Where? With whom? And why didn’t I know?
The doorbell rings, and Hattuc says they must be there. She tells him to ask them himself. She needs to go.
Kazim’s exasperated face is priceless: Can you believe it? It’s like she’s aunt to a child that was delivered by a stork and isn’t my daughter.

Ferit is driving Seyran to go shopping. He asks her if she is thinking about the presents.
Seyran: What are you talking about? We’re going to buy presents?
Ferit: Are you serious, Seyran? This year it will be a proper celebration. First we’ll buy a giant tree and decorate it with lights. In fact, we’ll put lights around the whole house.
Seyran’s face looks enchanted with this idea.
Ferit continues: There will be candles all over and our gifts will be the hit of the party. Guess who’ll be the happiest of all?
Seyran: But, Ferit, it’s crazy. How can you plan a party in just one day? It’s impossible. Just the shopping will take up the whole day.
Ferit: We’re going to do it, you’ll see. Don’t worry about anything. The first place we’re going to is my favorite store. We’ll find everything we need there.
Seyran: I don’t want to discourage you, but you’re wasting your time, Ferit.
Ferit: Seyran, let me enjoy our New Year’s party. Why do you want to ruin the fantasy? Look, Ferit Korhan is amazing. If he feel’s bad, everything’s bad. Capiche?
Seyran grins at this: Fine.
Ferit dances in the car (with his arms only) and invites her to dance with him. That could be an invitation to spend her life with him as he dances his way through life!

Episode 46 #4 of 9

At the yali, Halis is pacing while Latif is waiting on him. Latif wonders if they should prepare something special for Ms. Hatice. He offers to let the kitchen know.
Halis continues to pace back and forth, and Latif has to repeat his question. He tells Latif not to worry about it. He asks Latif to go and welcome Hattuc. Halis looks preoccupied and not at all happy to be seeing his old friend again.
Halis (to himself): Just expressing myself properly to her will be enough.
Halis is obviously very nervous.
Carlos tells Ifakat that the car has arrived.
Outside, we see the vehicle stop and Abidin assists Hattuc and Suna. Hattuc is on a mission and doesn’t thank Abidin or wait for Suna, striding ahead. Abidin takes this opportunity to take Suna’s hand. He tells her she should probably stay out of it: If anything happens, I don’t want to see you suffer.
Suna nods. As he lets her hand go, a bracelet falls to the ground. Abidin picks it up and apologizes for breaking it. Suna tells him it’s not a problem.
They are having such a nice visit that they don’t see that they are being watched closely by Ifakat, who misses nothing.
Abidin: I didn’t grab your hand too hard?
Suna: No,
Aibidin: I hope I didn’t hurt you.
Suna: Don’t worry about it. I’m fine. It was already kind of broken, and I was meaning to get it fixed. I just haven’t had the chance. It was going to break eventually.
Abidin: Some red thread will make your wish come true.
Suna: I don’t understand.
Abidin: You said the bracelet would’ve broken anyway. Tie read thread to your wrist and if the thread breaks or dissolves on its own, a wish of yours will come true. I remembered that just now. That’s why I said it.
Suna smiles briefly but her mood is very solemn: That sounds nice. I would’ve liked to know that. My wish would have been for everything to be fixed.
Abidin: I’ll walk you to the door.
They walk together toward the yali. Abidin can’t take his eyes off of her. And Ifakat can’t take her eyes off of them.
Ifakat: Abidin, thank you for walking Suna to the door. You may go now.
Abidin nods and excuses himself to Suna.
As Suna walks to join Ifakat, Ifakat turns quickly, leaving Suna to enter the yali alone.

Upstairs, Halis is waiting, standing in his room. Hattuc throws open the door and strides into the room, leaving Latif to follow her.
Hattuc: Halis, repeat to my face what you said to Kazim that night now looking at me in the face.
Halis is very emotional: I don’t know exactly what you heard.
Hattuc: I heard what you said. What’s been built up all these years no longer exists. You forgot it, and I didn’t know. You’re stripping us of the welcome you gave us. Your house is no longer ours. Thank Allah I have property I can sell for my family if needed. Kazim had to sell his land and now has nothing. You thought you could humiliate him for that reason. Even though I’m not dead yet, I back my family. How sad. How sad and unfortunate.
Halis: Hatice, don’t talk like that. Don’t you know me? You know I don’t care about property.

Episode 46 #5 of 9
Hattuc: I’m not so sure about that. I never was. Maybe this blasted city of Istanbul and its excesses has rubbed off on you. (Halis starts to talk, but she overrides him.) I’m not finished yet. Kazim always treated you like part of the family. You’d eat at the house. As my brother’s friend, it was your second home. I’m sorry if our hospitality offended you. I want you to tell me to my face what you said to Kazim so I can know if I ruined my life for nothing.
{Listening to Hattuc here gives more background into Kazim’s earlier life and the friendship between Hattuc and Halis. It is very sad to listen to Hattuc, who has seemed like such a sad character whose life had passed her by.]
Halis: The situation with your niece that night and what I said. My anger got the better of me.
Hattuc: You wouldn’t have said it if that’s not what you thought. I never thought much of your grandson, but I kept my opinion to myself so as not to affect you. The irony of it is he came for his wife and in his ignorance actually stepped up. He came to the house and, without thinking, kidnapped Seyran.
Halis is very impactado: What are you saying, Hatice?
Hattuc: Oh, you didn’t know? I’m not surprised. He may not be smart, but he has a heart, unlike you.
Halis is wounded by these comments: Don’t’ say that. You’re offending me. Calm downl. You should sit down.
Hattuc: I’m not finished yet. Swallow your pride first, like my family has had to swallow theirs.

At a store similar to Pottery Barn, we are treated to an uplifting scene where Ferit gives Seyran a New Year’s Eve shopping experience. She is like a little girl, enchanted.
Ferit: Seyran, you’re bewitched!
He tells her to pick what she wants. [I want Ferit to take me shopping!]
Seyran: I get to choose?
Ferit: You can pick whatever you like. We won’t have time to fill the cabin, but we’ll buy everything for the party.
Seyran: I warned you that it’s in vain.
Ferit: You’re wrong. And even if it were, we could have a nice dinner and eat until we got sick before we said goodbye, that’s all. But that’s not going to happen, Seyran. (She is completely distracted by the holiday displays.) This is a new beginning. Don’t be sad. Nothing bad is going to happen.
Seyran: No, it’s not like that. I’m sad because I always wanted to celebrate the New Year. Getting to decorate the tree will be incredible. Thank you.
Ferit: Incredible, after everything I told you, that’s your reason? You’re so selfish and cold-hearted. (His teasing encourages her smile.) Go on, pick out everything you want. Go on.
Ferit: Look!
Seyran runs to a display of ornaments, and she picks up two! She shows them to him and he grins. Next, she is enchanted by a snow globe. He watches her joyful antics. The camera now shows a young Seyran enjoying all this and a young Ferit is watching her. [Oh, if only those little girls had one tenth of this sort of joy growing up!] Young Ferit goes up to her and she shows him her snow globe. We snap back to the present, and the couple has antlers on their heads as they play with different items, grinning at one another. She keeps adding things to the basket he is carrying. She can’t seem to get enough globe shaped ornaments. Seyran is laughing out loud with pleasure.

Episode 46 #6 of 9

Back at the unjoyful yali, Suna is in the spider’s lair, oh, I meant Ifakat’s room.
Ifakat: So, everything OK at home?
Suna: Yes, pretty much. Though I don’t want to leave.
Ifakat: And if you do, no matter where you go, I will always support you, so don’t worry. I promised to take care of you. But I have a gut feeling that this problem will sort itself out. Your father will end up calming down.
Suna looks less hopeful: Hopefully.
Ifakat: Stay calm and call me if anything happens. I was very happy that you called yesterday.
Suna: I thought you might like to know the situation.
Ifakat: You thought right. But to be honest, there’s one thing I didn’t like.
Suna clasps and unclasps her hands.
Ifakat: I would have liked to know that too.
Suna: I don’t understand what you mean. How did I mess up?
Ifakat stands and goes to the large mirror. She calls Suna to join her. She tells Suna to look in the mirror.
Ifakat: Life your head and take a good look at yourself. I just hope there comes a day when you see what I do, Suna, since right now you can’t look at your own reflection without feeling uncomfortable. Don’t turn your glance where you shouldn’t. Don’t look at the wrong man. When you finally realize what you’re worth, that’ll be the day we find you the man who deserves you most. Don’t ruin your future with childish dreams.
Suna: I still don’t understand where I made a mistake. I did the best I could.
Ifakat: I think you do understand.
Suna: If this is because I was speaking to Abidin, it was nothing but a harmless chat.
Ifakat: You need to understand me. Do not speak to him. You need to know your place so that he’ll stay away. The person you choose should deserve you materially as well as spiritually.
Suna: If from the outside it looked like something else, then I’ll be more careful.
Ifakat: That’s how it must be.
Suna is very impactada. Ifakat can see this.

In the kitchen, Carlos and Sefika are playing with Sultan’s son. He is all dressed up with a bow tie. Sultan comes in and asks why they dressed him so early. Carlos said it was Dicle’s idea; he’s just helping with the bow tie. Sultan tells Firat that he looks very handsome. Sefika asks Sultan what she will be wearing. She doesn’t know yet and talks about going to a hair stylist. Sefika looks at her and then tells her Mr. Latif has someone coming to do up the staff. [Is this more of Ferit’s planning? If so, I’m impressed!]. Sefika says the best news is they won’t have to cook. Sultan is very excited, almost giddy. She tells Sefika to imagine she might find a boyfriend tonight. Sefika tells her they will just be the same people. Sultan points out there will be the hired staff, cooks, waiters, etc. Sefika suggests Sultan is probably building castles in the air for herself. This scene seemed sad to me because their lives are so limited by working in the yali. Sultan said she can’t get involved with anyone because it would complicate her life. She tells Sefika they need to pick out their clothes. Sefika likes that idea. Sultan says without Ferit, they wouldn’t be invited. Sefika blesses Ferit. They leave Firat with Carlos.

Back upstairs, Hattuc is winding up her tongue-lashing of Halis. They are seated.
Hattuc: I ask that you listen to me, perhaps for the last time. Just when I thought my luck had finally changed, you destroyed that wish. Despite all the disappointment you caused me, I came, showed my face, and we ended up crying together. I opened up and let you see my vulnerable side. And what was the first thing you did? You’re making my niece suffer that same fate I did.
Halis: Seyran chose to return to her father all on her own. You entrusted her to me like my own family, and I would never throw her out of my home.

Episode 46 #7 of 9
Hattuc: She’s young and chose poorly. Why didn’t you go after her, like that commotion you caused at the hospital because you wanted to see your grandson? You could have done something like that for her.
Halis: Listen, please. The promises I made Seyran and Suna are still in effect. But I also promised that Kazim can never see me again. As patriarch, that road is closed.
Hattuc: To everyone, you are Halis the patriarch. But to me you’re just Halis. That must offend you. Your grandson invited us to dinner this evening. If you choose not to come and you reject my family, then I will have to call you “Halis, the untouchable patriarch” from now on.
Hattuc takes her handbag and coat and walks out, giving Halis one last glance as she closes the door.
Halis is left, very impactado.

Back at the store, Ferit and Seyran are still playing with the decorations. Ferit is on the phone looking serious. Seyran tells him they should make a list so she won’t forget anyone’s gift. He hangs up and tells her it’s not necessary to make a list because he has it all in his head. Seyran tells her it might be in his head, but she doesn’t know where his head is.
Seyran: Alright, where do we start? How about your stupid ex? After all, you know what he likes best.
Seyran, bothered by this: I can’t trust you. I should just go.
Ferit: No, Seyran, it was just a joke. Calm down.
Seyran agrees to relax. Ferit tells her he made himself a promise that he wouldn’t cause any problems today. He tells her they do have to get Yusuf something so that he gets a gift.
Seyran: What are you talking about? Yusuf, too?
Ferit: Of course. He works at the house. Everyone is coming. He can’t be left out.
Seyran: I’m starting to understand. Sometimes you’re considerate, but then you ruin it by being stupid. You’re impossible to understand.
Ferit laughs: “You’re impossible.” That’s what they should call my biopic. The Impossible Man.
Seyran: Who’d go watch it? I was wrong, little Ferit. You’re not an idiot. You’re very understandable, mischievous, predictable, and simple. The reason is easy: You are a child.
Ferit, walking with the shopping basket slung over his shoulder: OK. what else?
Seyran: No, that was it.
All this time, I’ve had the feeling that this was just the sort of store where they would run into Pelin, hopefully by accident. After all, Ferit said it was his favorite store, so Pelin would know that. Sure enough, Pelin and Serter are indeed shopping there. Ferit watches her flirt with Serter with a scarf.

FLASHBACK: Pelin and Ferit in his favorite store. She is trying a scarf on him exactly the same way that she is doing with Serter. Ferit isn’t impressed with the scarf. She tells him she likes men who wear scarves. He asks her if that is all it takes for her to like a man? Does that mean you’re capable of loving another man? She laughs and asks: What would you do? Ferit replies: If that happened, I’d do something you can’t imagine. She tells him she doesn’t have to imagine because that will never happen.

Ferit is transfixed, watching this duplicate scene. It does seem that Serter is more polite, taking the scarf nicely. They try a different color.

FLASHBACK Part two: Continuation of the earlier scene. Ferit: Pelin, we’re never breaking up right? Pelin asks why he thinks of things like that. We’re out shopping and relaxing. Besides, you know how much I love you. You also know there’s only room for you in my life.

Episode 46 #8 of 9

Ferit is still watching this with a very serious expression. Seyran is behind him still picking out ornaments, but now she joins him. She spots Pelin and Serter and her mood changes rapidly.
Pelin tells Serter there’s more over here and they walk toward another display. Seyran tells Ferit he can’t stop looking at her.
Ferit: Seyran, you need to believe me. I swear I had no idea she’s be here. I promise. (He was on the phone earlier both at the house and in this store. Hmmm.)
Pelin looks their way and now Serter has seen them.
Ferit to Serter: Pelin likes this store too. It’s just a coincidence. She’s even with someone. Let’s say hello to them. It will be quick. Come on.
They walk over and Ferit greets them. Serter offers Seyran his hand and they shake. Pelin looks impactada. She tells Serter that Seyran is his wife and she tells them that Serter is her friend.
Ferit asks if he and Pelin could speak for a moment. Serter nods, and Seyran is left needing to nod. Her whole bubble just got broken.
Ferit tells Seyran he will be right back. Pelin and Ferit walk off. Seyran stands there awkwardly and then walks off, leaving Serter alone.
Pelin: What? You wanted to talk, Ferit, and they’re waiting for us, so say what you need to say.
Ferit: Are you dating this guy, Pelin?
Pelin: What do you care?
Ferit: Why do I care? He laughs in that somewhat threatening manner. What do I care? Fine, I won’t get upset. It’s the New Year and I made a promise which I intend on keeping. I won’t start any trouble, but I have a question for you, so I’m going to ask nicely and hope that you respond nicely. Are you really going out with him?
Pelin: Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. What difference does it make? Be considerate and answer me, even if you’re just being cordial.
Pelin: Look, we’re just friends for now.
Ferit: For now?
Pelin: For now, Ferit. That’s right. Who knows what will happen. If anything did happen, you’d be the first to know, so don’t worry.
Ferit: What’s wrong with you? Why are you being so defiant?
Pelin: Just following your advice to move on with my life. That’s what I’m doing. Did you expect me to wait my whole life for you? You told me to leave you alone remember?
Ferit: I told you because I was going to NY.

Episode 46 # 9 of 9

Pelin: That’s right. I was willing to leave my life here to go with you, but you rejected me. You left me alone in the hospital and I waited hours there to support you, to make sure you felt alright. How dare you question what I’m doing?
Ferit: Before, you never minded when I questioned you. Why does it bother you now?
Pelin: Ferit, we have to go. They’re waiting for us.
Ferit: One second, I think you’re just doing this to upset me, and you don’t want to see me upset. Stop it, I’m warning you.
Pelin: What are you going to do? Something you can’t imagine? Please, Ferit, I need to go.
Ferit: I’m not going to hurt you. Just tell me the truth. I won’t do anything. But if you’re lying to me and I find out from someone else, that you are dating him, then I can’t be sure what’ll happen to you. You understand?
Ferit and Pelin return to the others.
Ferit hits Serter on the upper arm: Sorry to keep you waiting. We were discussing a mutual friend. Happy New Year.
Serter: Same to you.
Serter asks if Pelin is OK and she says she is but she’s ready to leave.
Ferit is still watching them, while trying to pretend he isn’t.
Seyran: I’m shocked that you didn’t fight.
Ferit: Why would I fight? Everything’s fine.
Seyran: What did you two talk about?
Ferit: We were very cordial and proper. I asked if she was with him, and she said no, and since we broke up, it doesn’t matter anymore. I told. Her she didn’t need to hide it. Because she has to move on with her life.
Seyran looks at him doubtfully; he looks back, challenging her to question his story.
Ferit: Basically, that’s what I told her.
Seyran: OK. Let’s keep shopping so we won’t be late.
Ferit: Alright. Do you think this coat would make a good gift for my mother?
Seyran: Maybe.
Ferit: Perhaps along with this scarf.
He tries on the scarf: Looks good on me, doesn’t it, Seyran?
Ferit: Let’s buy stuff for the house.
Seyran: Like what?
Ferit: After all, we’re hosting a party. We have to make it big.
Seyran: If we don’t hurry, we’ll be late to our own party.
Ferit: It’s going to be great, you’ll see. They have a home goods section here too.

OT

I am going to take a break until this Friday of watching, recapping, and/or commenting on Caray. I really procrastinated. My book club is this Thursday at 6:00 PM. I am halfway through a nearly 463-page book. That's the bad news. The good news is that I love it. It's called Once Upon a River by Diane Setterfield. I can't attend without finishing it because there's a mystery that completely intrigues me. It's a historical novel and very well written.

"LOBO"/OT:
Anastasia & Novelera: I only saw a little bit of last night's episode.

*Misael gets his belongings & leaves the house for good. Not sure where he'll be staying.

*Lobo, Hugo & Adela discussed how to get Antonia out of her current situation.

*Clingy Miranda still Clingy & Creepy.

PS: Spurs throttled Blazers 114-95 & advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals to face the winner of Nuggets/Timberwolves.

I will be recapping Tuesday's episode in a bit.

Wonderful recap, Babachita! Lol—“Suna is in the spider’s lair, oh, I meant Ifakat’s room.”

I love it when Ferit talks about himself in the third person. He referred to himself as Seyran’s “lionhearted husband”. And he did call her “abla” (sister). He was just being cute.

Ferit was really surprised to see Pelo at the store. He didn’t call her. Whatever he had to his ear, he put down on a shelf. I couldn’t make out what that was.

“[I wonder if Kazim’s objection to New Year’s was because he was so cheap and didn’t want to spend money on the celebration or if, as he said, it was heresy.]” Seyran noted he went out with his friends to celebrate NYE. He’s definitely a cheapskate. He likely used the “infidel” issue as an excuse. It could be it bothered him, too. Some Turks incorporate things we associate with Christmas into their New Year’s celebration. Surprisingly, I’ve even seen Santa!

As much as I love Seyfer, I thought Hattuc and Halis were the highlight this episode. I had some issues the translation they gave us.

“[Listening to Hattuc here gives more background into Kazim’s earlier life and the friendship between Hattuc and Halis. It is very sad to listen to Hattuc, who has seemed like such a sad character whose life had passed her by.]” It doesn’t tell us much about Kazim’s early life, but if you pay careful attention, you understand more about Halis and Hattuc.

Hattuc said that her father always treated Halis as part of the family. [Kazim was just a boy when Halis last saw him in Antep.]

In regard to Ferit she said: I never trusted your grandson from the first day I saw him but I said “even if the dog commands no respect, its master does” and so I kept quiet.

This is the kicker: “That ignorant boy, with his half-wit, protected his home and family. He came yesterday and kidnapped Seyran from her father’s house. After Halis was surprised by this, she responded, “of course you are surprised. The courage you lack—it turns out your grandson has it.” Halis replied, “you speak harshly. It hurts.” I say, if the shoe fits, Halis Ağa!

I can post #47 on the Thursday page.

Lobo
Ep #46
Tuesday, April 28, 2026

Azufrero tells Remedios that he has only one son, Oscar. Remedios begs Azu to have compassion for Misael.
We see Misael has gone to his friend's apartment, where he is drinking and taking drugs. Cesar Cruz visits him there.

Azufrero makes a video about the death of Gustavo and the supposed death of Miranda. He says "yes I am responsible, but I had help from an agent within the Fiscalia, Antonia Lazo".

Graciela talks to Cruz and tells him that she is confused about who did what. She is surprised to see Antonia arrested. Cruz answers "yes, it's confusing. But either I win, or Antonia wins. And I don't like to lose".

Graciela later confronts Azufrero after she sees the video. She tells him that she doesn't believe that Antonia is behind Gustavo's death. Azufrero pulls a knife on Graciela and threatens to slice her face. She has to ask forgiveness. She leaves the room, upset, and Remedios (of all people) comforts her.

Miranda got her lawyers to declare that she is legally alive after all. She needs cash to complete her mission of destroying Azu and Cruz. She will use Renata's inheritance and restart laundering money for Azufrero. She asks Alejandro to post the video publicly that Azu made. He doesn't want to do it, because it would keep Antonia in prison. Miranda wants it posted and she uses her sexy wiles on Alejandro. He seems unable to resist her.

Miranda tells Renata that Renata will not be able to see or talk to Antonia again. Miranda tells her that Antonia got a job in Europe.

Lobo confronts Cruz in the parking garage and starts to choke him. For some unknown reason, Cruz doesn't call his guards over to arrest Cruz for assault. Cruz tells Lobo that Miranda is using Lobo.

Fabio leaves Antonia in a jail cell with handcuffs on, which is against regulations. They verbally spar. One of the jail guards spits in Antonia's food.

Cruz goes to the club to confront Nacho, who is now working there as a bartender. He wants to force Nacho to come back home, but Nacho is ready to be independent and support Sue and the baby.

While Cruz is gone, Hugo disconnects the cameras in the jail so Lobo can visit Antonia. Hugo gives them 5 minutes. Lobo and Antonia kiss. (So much for telling him they were done a couple episodes ago.) Lobo wonders who put Azufrero's video online, because Azu would not think to do that. Lobo thinks it's Cruz. Antonia says it's more likely Miranda. Lobo wants to know why she thinks that. Among other things, Adela heard Miranda say to Cruz "encargate de Antonia" - you take care of Antonia. And Antonia tells him about other instances when Miranda clearly wants Antonia gone. Hugo says the very short visit has to be over.

Lobo goes to Miranda and Alejandro's fortress compound. He accuses Miranda of having a compact with Cruz to arrest Antonia. End episode.

*The brainwashing of Renata courtesy of Clingy Miranda begins.

*Noticed Eugenio was at the nightclub.

*Still worried about Sue & the baby.

Lobo

I will be recapping Lobo later this afternoon.

Lobo
Ep #47 part 1
Wednesday, April 29, 2026

This was a very impactful episode, entitled "El Encuentro de las Hermanas".
Miranda and Graciela had quite the meetup.
To top it off, my local Telemundo station did not broadcast audio last night, neither for Lobo, comercials, and the local news that followed. Luckily, there were subtitles. I re-watched with English subtitles today, because I couldn't always take notes and read the Spanish subtitles on the TV at the same time.

Episode opens with Lobo confronting Miranda on her getting Cruz to arrest and charge Antonia. Miranda was upset that Antonia had accused Miranda of being involved in Gustavo's death. Lobo asks Miranda to publicly denouce Cruz, to help get Antonia out of jail. Miranda gives him some blah blah blah. Renata comes out in her pj's to see Lobo. She can't stop thinking about Antonia (supposedly) abandoning her. Lobo asks Mir what she told Renata. Mir says that she told Renata that Antonia had and emergency. Lobo goes along with the lie rather than telling Renata that Antonia is in jail.

Adela and Antonia talk. Adela needs to get a writ of protection (whatever that is) and permission to be Anta's lawyer. She needs a waiver of conflict of interest because Adela works for the Fiscalia. Adela thinks Antonia should plead guilty on lesser charges and get released on bail, but Antonia says that Cruz will never release her. Antonia says she will keep fighting to prove that Cruz and Azufrero are criminals, and Miranda is the mastermind.

Adrian meets up with Adela and tells her that he is leaving town to take part in competiton (wheelchair basketball?). Their "romance" is over. Later, Hugo says he wants to re-start his relationship with Adela.

Lobo
Ep #47 part 2
April 29, 2026

Graciela finds out that Miranda has claimed her inheritance (from Gustavo). She calls Cruz. Cruz tells Gracie that he has moved out of the hotel and gone back home. It's better for the campaign. Graciela then tells Azufrero that Miranda has claimed the 5 million readily available inheritance. Azu gets upset.

Graciela goes to meet Lobo on a street somewhere. Magola goes with her for some reason. Gracie wants Lobo's help in escaping Azufrero. Lobo agrees to help her. Graciela hugs Lobo in thanks and relief. Magola, who is spying on them, takes a photo of them hugging and sends it to Miranda.

Miranda immediately shows up to talk to Graciela. Miranda must have been on the way once Magola told her where Gracie and Lobo were meeting. So - Graciela finally sees Miranda alive in person. They argue, hurling insults at each other. Graciela tries to explain her actions while Miranda was gone, but Miranda is not listening. Graciela is remembering that Miranda is a piece of work. Miranda threatens Graciela because Graciela hugged Lobo. Graciela tells Mir that Mir can't stand that Lobo is in love with Antonia. Graciela slaps her. (I am starting to like Miranda. Compared to Miranda, Gracie is an angel.)

Leonor comes to the club to see Nacho and Sue. She gives them her approval. Nacho looks dubious. Leonor invites Nacho and Sue to move back to the house together. (It probably helps the campaign to have Nacho back home.) When Nacho and Sue get to the house, Leonor welcomes them.

Antonia antagonizes Cruz when he comes down to the jail to talk to her. Always a smart move to antagonize your jailer. Cruz tells her outright that he is going to kill Lobo. They are withholding water from her - a violation. Antonia antagonizes Fabio as well.

Cruz leaves to meet up with Azufrero at the club. Eugenio, spying on Cruz, follows him into the club, and makes friends with the owner Zahie. Cruz and Azufrero argue because everyone is always blaming only Azu for the murders. They realize that Miranda has been playing them both and sowing seeds of doubt between them. They are annoyed that Alejandro will be doing the money laundering. Azu and Cruz come to a truce. Azu wants Cruz to ensure that Antonia will be killed.

Cruz and Azufrero discuss their sons. Cruz did not realize Misael and Cesar were more than friends, that they were romantically involved. Eugenio takes a photo of Cruz and Azufrero conferring together.

Lobo goes to Alejandro's house to see Renata. Alejandro says Lobo can't see Renata because she is taking a nap (at her age?). Lobo and Alejandro have a confrontation. (Lobo and Antonia are always having confrontations instead of learning to keep their mouth shut. But that provides drama for the show.)
Alejandro tells Lobo that if he really cared about Renata, he, Lobo, would disappear and let Alejandro take Renata and Miranda to the treasure caches. Lobo says no, he Lobo is going to get Antonia freed and then take Renata to the border as planned.

Misael is shown in the friend's apartment not in good shape. He keeps playing over in his head all the bad stuff his father said to him.

"Someone" sends Azufrero a photo of Graciela kissing Cruz (when they met out on a street). No doubt Miranda sent the photo. (I agree with Steve that Graciela's life is in imminent danger.) End episode.

OT

My niece just informed us that her maternal cousin's husband was detained by ICE a week ago in Baltimore. Saddaf, born here, is 33 weeks pregnant. Fareed Chisty was born in Pakistan. I don't know why he was picked up - probably overstayed a visa. He has been moved to a detention center in Texas.

I use a family nickname on this site, but we are of European background. My brother fell in love with a woman of Pakistani heritge thirty-five years ago. My sister-in-law's family are all citizens. Apparently, some of the people married into the family are not. Our family has been immeasurely enriched and educated by our blending of two cultures. We are distraught.

OT

What a beautifully written entry, Anastasia, when you must all be very distraught. I hope that they can figure out a way that your niece’s family can be together again. I come from a blended family and consider us blessed. Sending a hug and lots of good wishes for your family, especially the mom-to-be!
