#41 part 1

Rewind: Seyran stops Ferit from going to the boarding gate. She makes the case for him to stay. He gives his reasons for leaving and wonders why she’s so fixed on making him stay. She is adamant, I don’t want you to leave, so you’re not leaving, okay? We pick up the new episode from here and I’ll give you the Turkish translation.

Ferit scoffs. Very good, I swear. Wonderful. Emredersin, karıcığım (as you command, my dear wife). If you want, I can carry you home from here on my back. How’s that? Neither you nor my family matter to me anymore. I’m tired of you humiliating me, treating me badly… constantly trying to be good to you, trying to please you. I’m tired, Seyran. I don’t want anything from any of you. I’m leaving. Do what you want. Apply henna… celebrate.

Ferit gets teary as he continues, it will be better without me. You’ll be happier, calmer, no problems, you can live as you want. You’ll cry for 3 days, suffer for 5, and then you will forget. Continue living where you left off. It’s over, Seyran. It’s over. From now on there is no Ferit Korhan.

Seyran’s tears fall. She reaches out for Ferit and kisses him! The girl who rejected any advances from Antepli Yusuf, plants a kiss on Ferit in the middle of an Istanbul airport! And what a kiss. Ferit drops his bag and they continue kissing. [Sonunda! After 40 episodes!]

And why do they waste more than a second on the sad pair of Pelin and Yusuf watching Seyfer kiss? Neyse… Seyfer come up for air and hold each other tight. [Such a longing for each other!] Finally, Ferit moves back. There are no words, just looks. He picks up his bag and heads to the gate.

Seyran is devastated. She turns to go and sees Pelo and Yusuf. I’m sorry, she tells Pelin She looks at Yusuf. He turns and walks. Seyran follows him. Pelo stands there with silent tears.

Yusuf cries. Seyran calls out to him. He gets a call from Sultan. Where are you? Latif has been calling you. Yusuf claims he had an emergency and will come now. Sultan tells him that Halis is being taken to the hospital. They need the car. He asks, what happened to Halis aga? Seyro hears this. Sultan says she will send the location. Seyran asks what happened. Yusuf tells her about Halis. They need the car, they have to go.

Halis is taken by ambulance to the hospital. The family panics. Sefika feels faint. This happened right in front of her.

#41 part 2

Kazim complains to Esme about his bitter orange juice, scrolls through his phone and exclaims—What? Breaking news! Can’t be… “Halis Korhan, a well-known businessman, fell ill at home and was taken to the hospital.” Hattuc is stricken. Esme and Kazim rush to her. She asks Kazim to read more. Speak, Kazim! Don’t hide anything! What should I hide, he says, there is nothing more. He shows her the phone.

Hattuc swats Kazim. Damn you! You said all those terrible things and look what happened! The man ended up in the hospital because of you! We are responsible for this! She is distraught and Kazim is surprised at her extreme reaction. He will be fine, Kazim says, calm down. I’ll call Orhan and ask. Hattuc thinks Orhan won’t answer now. Let’s go! Let’s go!

Kazim tells his aunt, let me talk to the family first. Hattuc threatens, don’t make me hit you! My nerves are at the limit! Okay, he asks, why are you so angry? Calm down. We’ll go. Tell the girls. We’ll all go together. Uh oh. Hattuc doesn’t move or reply. What are you waiting for, Kazim asks, don’t you want to go? How do you expect your daughters to be seen in public, Hattuc answers, you go ahead and I’ll come with the girls. Kazim is at a bit of a loss. But he says he’ll go. Hattuc asks him to call her when he gets there.

Vigil at the hospital. Gulgun asks Fuat if he’s called Ferit. Ferit’s phone is still off. Fuat spots Kazim. Just what they need now. Kazim gives get well wishes. Fuat and Gulgun go over to greet him. Ifakat and Orhan look like they want to kill him. Orhan composes himself and goes over to Kazim. They shake hands. Asuman asks, is Seyran here? I came first, Kazim replies, she’ll come with my aunt. Gulgun says that’s good.

Kazim asks about Halis’ condition. Fuat says they don’t know much. Halis is conscious though. Kazim gives words of encouragement. Our Aga is a warrior. He will be okay. You will be fine. He asks, where is my son in law? His phone is off, Fuat replies, we can’t reach him. Kazim excuses himself to call Hattuc.

Hattuc takes the call and tells Kazim they’re leaving now. The doorbell rings. Seyran returns. She hugs her mom. Hattuc asks, where is your husband? I couldn’t stop him, Seyran says, he’s gone. We’ll talk about this later, Hattuc says, get your coat, we’re leaving.

Seyran enters the bedroom, jumps into Suna’s arms and cries. What happened? I couldn’t stop him, Seyro sobs, he’s gone. I told him not to go but he didn’t listen. He left. None of what you said happened. He left without looking back. They sit on the bed. Suna says, I have to ask you, promise you won’t get upset. Were you mean to him? Seyran says no. I even… kissed him.

Suna is stunned. For the first time, Seyran adds. For a moment, everything seemed to be going well, she says with a sad smile, the moment was wonderful. It was beautiful. Suna asks… and then? He left without looking back, Seyro cries, Allah belanı versin! (May God curse him!) Don’t pray for bad things, Suna quickly answers, this can’t be. You’ve always said you had no feelings for him. Yes, I said that, Seyran replies. Sure, you did, Suna says knowingly.

Seyro wipes her eyes and claims she only did it so he wouldn’t leave. But it didn’t work, she laments. He only thinks about himself. He’s spoiled. What did I expect? It doesn’t matter anymore, Suna says, let’s get up. Wash your face.

Seyran still can’t believe it. How could he leave? Was it that easy for him? I doubt it was easy, Suna replies, maybe he just couldn’t take it any longer. You saw what happened. He can’t just give up like this, Seyran says, there’s always something… if he only stopped for a second, he’d come to his senses. But it’s too late now. Suna says, let’s go… auntie is waiting for us. It will be okay.

Yusuf drives Seyran, Suna and Hattuc to the hospital. Esme stayed behind. They are met with a swarm of reporters and photographers who shout for a statement from Seyran. They mention Ferit causing a family crisis. Is Halis here because of Ferit? Yusuf tries to clear the way so they can get to the entrance. The reporters are relentless. Of course, Seyran has no comment.

Seyran and the others enter the waiting area. Fuat is the first to greet them. Suna immediately goes over to Ifakat. Hattuc asks Kazim for an update. Nothing yet. Seyran gives Gulgun a hug and cries. Gulgun assures her it will be okay. Seyro asks if they can talk and they go to a quiet place away from the others.

Gulgun tells her not to cry, don’t worry. Seyro starts, Ferit… Gulgun perks up. Ferit? You heard from him? Seyro drops the bomb—Ferit left… for New York. He said he would live there. I tried to stop him. I went to the airport… but he wouldn’t even hear me out. Gulgun is shocked, he just…left? Seyro nods and cries. He can’t do this on his own, Gulgun worries, and he wouldn’t leave with his grandfather in this condition.

He doesn’t know, Gulgun Anne, Seyro replies, I found out after he got on the plane. He doesn’t know. I thought I could stop him. But I couldn’t. Gulgun lifts Seyran’s head. I know my son. I know him very well. He just needs time to think. He’ll be back. Don’t worry, calm down. Trust him. Have faith in your marriage. Seyro repeats she did everything to keep him from leaving.

Gulgun doesn’t doubt it. She comforts Seyran. She’ll let everyone know about Ferit. Gulgun tells Seyro, this is life. You must look forward now. We cry now, and we laugh tomorrow. You’ll see, okay? Seyran asks for a minute alone before rejoining the group. She also asks for a favor. She ran away from home to get to the airport. Please don’t tell my father anything. Gulgun chuckles. She’ll keep the secret.

Gulgun returns to the waiting area and motions for Ifakat. She quietly tells Ifakat and Orhan that Ferit left for New York. Orhan is angry. Is he crazy? How could he? As if you don’t know your son, Gulgun answers, this is one of his impulsive decisions.

The doctor comes out with news. Don’t worry, Halis Ağa is fine. Thank God! Everyone is relieved. It was a heart spasm. They will run some additional tests and then he can have visitors.

Hattuc asks Suna to get her bottled water. Fuat volunteers to go with her. Asuman says, she’ll go too. She wants a coffee. [yes, and to keep an eye on Fuat.] Seyran returns and Suna says come get coffee with us.

Orhan goes to see Halis. Halis seems fine. He immediately asks Orhan if there’s news on Ferit. Orhan says, yes, don’t worry. I’m just happy you’re okay. Halis wants to know where Ferit is. Send him here right now. The doctor warns him to stay calm. Halis says he doesn’t want to see anyone else until he sees Ferit. The doc wants Halis to rest but he continues, tell Latif to come here and bring Ferit.

#41 part 4

Orhan tells the family outside the room that Halis is okay. He tells Latif to go in. Ifakat asks when they can go in. Orhan tells her he doesn't want to see anyone until he sees Ferit. He’s insisting. What do we tell him, Gulgun asks, do we tell him he left? No, Orhan answers, we’ll look for him.

Gulgun says she will inform Kazim about Halis. Maybe he will leave. Ifakat can barely contain her anger at Kazim. Gulgun warns her not to cause a scene. They head back to the waiting area, but Latif stops them. We don’t hear what he has to say.

Things seem a bit tense in the cafeteria. Seyran wonders what will happen when Halis finds out Ferit is gone. What if he gets worse? Let’s not think about that, Fuat says, grandpa is fine. So is Ferit. Asuman tells Seyran not to be so hard on herself. You couldn’t have known what was going to happen. If I were you, I would have done the exact thing. That gets a look from Fuat.

Abidin arrives at the cafeteria. Suna perks up. Fuat greets him. All that matters is that Halis Aga is okay, Abi says. He asks, where is Ferit? Seyran says, Ferit… is on a plane to NY. Abi is shocked. Orhan calls Fuat. Halis wants to see Seyran. Suna gets up with her and says she will check in with Kazim. They all head back.

There’s a look between Suna and Abi and Asuman notices it. A camera shot with mirrors makes it clear for us. Asuman asks Fuat if there is something between Suna and Abidin. He thinks that Abdin would never…

Kazim brings Hattuc good news, but Halis still can’t have visitors. He doesn’t want to hang around and wants to go home. He wonders where the girls are. They vanish and then he’s always the bad guy when he gets angry. Hattuc snaps, your daughters are scared of you! Take Suna, I’ll stay here with Seyran. What are you saying, he asks, is this possible? She warns him, don’t make me crazy. You brought Halis down but that won’t work on me.

Why do you want to stay, Kazim asks, I don’t understand at all. This can’t go on, she explains, I’ll talk to Ifakat. We need to talk about the children. What will you talk about, he asks, there’s nothing to talk about. She gives him a little push. Kazim! Apparently, you miss the beatings I gave you as a child! Yeter! I don’t want to cause any more problems until Halis is healthy and out of the hospital! He backs off.

There’s not a lot of room in the elevator. Suna is outside with Abidin. She says she will wait for the next one. Fuat looks at Abi, then at Suna. Asuman observes. Abi nervously tells Suna she looks tired. She gives a shy smile. He continues, if you want, when this is over… you want to go out again? She asks where. To get ice cream, he replies, but only if you want. Okay, she answers.

Mustafa shows up with a bag (clothes?) and a tray of something, maybe sweets for Halis. Abi takes them, I’ll make sure he gets them. He tells Mustafa to wait for him by the door. Kazim gets off the elevator. He looks at Suna. He tells Abi he needs a car. Abi sends him with Mustafa. Kazim takes Suna. She turns around to look at Abi as she walks.

Seyran comes to Halis. He asks Latif to leave them alone. Come sit, Halis tells her. Don’t be shy. Hold your head up. Look at me. She asks, how are you? I’m alive, as you can see, he replies. Seyran, once again, you are the only person who can tell me the truth. Whatever the price, there is nothing more valuable than the truth. Where is Ferit?

#41 part 5

Seyran is speechless. Don’t be afraid, Halis says, and don’t worry. I’m okay, I’m calm. But I can’t stop thinking about him. They’ll lie to me again. You’ll tell the truth. Seyran is anxious and avoids looking at Halis. Halis asks, did something bad happen to him? No, no… Ferit is okay, she replies, I saw him and we talked, but he doesn’t know you’re in the hospital. Then tell me, Halis asks, where is this child? She answers, Ferit… Ferit… The door opens and it’s Ferit!

Grandfather? Ferit rushes to Halis’ side. Seyran is stunned and relieved. I’m here, Ferit says. Thank God, Halis says, my grandson. My Ferit. Halis holds Ferit close. Tears of happiness all around. Ferit asks forgiveness. Halis asks to be left alone with Ferit.

Pelin is in her car outside of the hospital. She texts Ferit: “text me when you get the chance. I’m worried. I’m waiting outside.” Burak calls her, where are you? She reluctantly tells him she drove Ferit to the hospital. His grandfather became ill. Burak is sorry to hear it. Is he okay? Pelin isn’t sure but she thinks so. Burak says he’s coming.

Grandpa and grandson reunion continues. Ferit asks, are you okay? You came, I’m much better now, Halis replies. He starts to apologize but Ferit interrupts. You were right, Dede… everything that happened was my fault. Is there a right and a wrong in this case, Halis asks, if only my arm would have broken so I wouldn’t have hit you. Where have you been for all this time?

Ferit kisses his grandpa’s hand. I just needed some time alone, he says, I didn’t know… I came back as soon as I heard. Halis admits, I was very scared you would leave. Don’t leave the house for now, okay? He pats Ferit’s face.

Seyran and Latif are waiting outside Halis’ room. Ferit comes out. Latif is overcome with emotion, it’s good that you came, küçük bey (little mister). He gives Ferit a bear hug. Ferit is surprised and looks over Latif’s shoulder at Seyran. Ferit thanks him and Latif returns to Halis.

Ferit looks at Seyran. She smugly smiles, I said you wouldn’t leave. He smiles back, maybe if you had hugged me like Latif Bey instead of kissing me, I wouldn’t have left. You didn’t leave, she replies, you’re here. It worked.

Ferit feels dizzy and Seyran goes to his side. He says he’s okay, it’s that he hasn’t eaten anything today. Can you walk, she asks. Don’t exaggerate, he replies. Seyro says, let’s go to the cafeteria and get something to eat. She asks if he saw his parents. Yes, he saw them and says, let’s tell them they can see grandpa now. She lets Ferit take hold of her arm. They walk down the hall.

Did you know he wouldn’t see anyone before he saw me, Ferit says. Seyran replies, well, he saw me. Ferit says, he saw you? Yes, she states, he wanted to see me first. They laugh.

And we are out.

Another gem, dondi! I wish you were on the West Coast. The three hours of time difference make it hard to be on the same page, literally! I saw that you had put up #41 soon after Juanita put up Page 1, but I had to hurry off to the YMCA for my hardcore cycling class, my big aerobic event of the week.

Then I got home and needed to cook and eat dinner. I also watched half of a recording of basketball while cooking. Did the Knicks win? Are you a Knicks fan? Their coach, Mike Brown was an assistant coach with the Warriors for several years. He's just a fantastic guy.

Yep, that was a wonderful episode. I hope it made up for the awful one you recapped where Suna and Seyran get beaten. I've been thinking about that. Kazim probably has had years of developing a style where the bruises never show. Both girls' faces looked fine the next day.

That was a wonderful kiss. Seyran got off her high horse and showed her husband how much he means to her.

I don't agree with showing Pelin and Yusuf being a waste. I was delighted that maybe, just maybe, Yusuf finally realized Seyran won't ever come back to him. Fingers crossed he gets the message.

Every time Hattuc develops a spine I love it. "How do you expect your daughters to be seen in public?" [after you disgraced them by dragging them away from the Korhans]

Wow, the Korhans have ironclad manners. I wouldn't have been able to shake hands with Kazim after what he did.

I enjoyed Seyran telling Suna about the kiss. For once her reserve dropped and she was a giddy girl talking about a boyfriend, er...husband. I think I was first kissed by a boy when I was 11 and didn't like it much. Liking it came much later.

Sigh. I hope they don't have to give Kazim a mansion 3 times the size of the Korhan's to get him to let Seyran return to her marriage.

lunes – parte 1 Cruz gets nowhere trying to convince Miranda that he’s a good guy. He brings up Lobo’s DNA at the crime scene. She calmly says that he won’t mind if she gets her own experts, shutting him down.

Hugo gets snarky with Fabio, the sneaky guy who’s taken Dante’s place as Cruz’s lapdog.

When Cruz smiles, saying that Miranda and Lobo are lovers, she comes right back at him. Lobo was the one who defended Renata. Dante killed Berta for defending Renata, and Lobo killed Dante to protect her.

Leonor tells Carlo she sent the guys who hurt him. She suggests he leave the country.

Renata catches Alejandro doing electronic eavesdropping on the meeting with Miranda and Cruz. Ale ends up bonding with Renata over video games.

The sadistic young guy guarding Antonia and Eugenia is not the son of El Az. He’s hoodwinked by Antonia and Eugenio. She manages to get his knife.

Miranda convinces La Presidenta to put Cruz back in charge of the murder of her husband.

El Az goes in to violently threaten Antonia and Eugenia. Lobo and Fer are outside of the warehouse or whatever it is, not knowing for sure what’s inside.

Adela really disappoints me. She tells Hugo that she has feelings for Adrian, the guy who went after his brother’s woman.

El Az points his gun at Eugenio to threaten Antonia with killing her father. She pretends to agree, and when he gets close, stabs him in the leg. Then Eugenio chokes him unconscious.

Adela overhears Miranda and Cruz talking as if they’ve conspired before.

lunes – parte 2 Lobo, Hugo, and Fernando rush the hideout. There’s the usual big shootout, but this time some bad guys appear to be killed. Our Team gets away intact.

Miranda tells Alejandro what happened with Cruz, and he again sees how she doesn’t care what happens to Antonia.

Big Ed is in a lot of pain and far from stoic about it. Loboo and Antonia spend too much time yakking, and El Az grabs Eugenio. But Eugenio twists and Antonia shoots El Az. They try to fake Viewerville that he died.

Hugo arrests the sadistic punk..

Leonor has gotten a guy named Agustin to replace Carlo. Miranda tells Ale she wants to get rid of El Az and Cruz and before going to the border for the money.

Eugenio Antonia and Lobo talk. Believe they’re at Hugo’s place. Antonia is very concerned about Miranda. She tells Lobo about hearing that El Az and his guys couldn’t reach him about her being kidnapped. He then tells her about getting the message she was dumping him. They realize someone is playing games with their phones.

Remedios is beside herself about her big baby. It’s said he might walk with a limp forever. He freaks completely out.

Lobo tells Antonia that Renata is with her mother, and that Renata said over and over how much she loves Antonia.

Carlos, full of spite, comes to tell Cruz that he and Leonor are lovers. I’m very curious about his reaction. He might laugh in his face now that he has Graciela.

Novelera: Thank you very much for your recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts:

*Is Carlos that STUPID ? He keeps messing around & itching to find out! I won't be sad to see him getting whacked.

*Jackass Big Ed still an uppity jackass with his violent, menacing threats & the like. Big question is whether or not he goes down in the Gran Final ?

*Alejandro: GET OUT while you still can because Whacky Miranda won't hesitate to kill you if you're dragging her down.

*Nice seeing Lobo & Co., rescuing Antonia & Eugenio. Now, Lobo needs to realize that Clingy Miranda is the one, who had Antonia & Eugenio kidnapped.

*Slick Fabio needs to go down & I look forward to seeing the Cruzes going down BIGLY.

*Adela OMG! If I'm Hugo, I would move on & focus on my job with law enforcement.

Thanks Novelera for the recap.
I am also disappointed in Adela's choice of men.
I am astounded that our gang can't figure out how Lobo's phone was manipulated with. Every time he went to Alejandro and Miranda's house Lobo's phone was taken away from him! Lobo did not maintain custody of his own phone. I expected to see that lightbulb light up over Lobo's head and was severely disappointed that it did not . And Fer needs to acknowledge that there is possibly another person in town as good or better with technology as Fer is.

I loved that Ferit showed up and didn’t fly to the US. Yusuf crying was priceless! And the banter between Seyran and Ferit is such fun!!! This couple has lots of chemistry. They both have many facets to their personalities! The kiss was great, even with the music.

Give me the episode # that I should do next and I’ll do it Friday!

Too bad Ferit didn’t come to NY. It would have been nice if they filmed here. dondi would have become a stalker, *wink*.

My problem with Pelin and Yusuf at the airport was really with the director and editor’s choice to splice them into the middle of Seyfer kissing, IMHO, for too many seconds. I agree it was good they both saw Seyfer.

Hattuc was good in this episode. She’s thinking of Halis more than anyone else, though.

I don’t follow the NBA much, but I like to see the Knicks do well. The college game is more exciting for me. Although with NIL and the portal, college sort of seems “professional.” As you might know by now, the Knicks snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory. Ugh.

The Mets are killing me!
