Kara Para Ask – Black Money Love – Amor de Contrabando – Amor y Dinero Negro
Episode 125 #1 of 8
Elif drives through a gate and parks behind what looks like Omer’s car. This is at the prison. She tells the guard she wants to see Husseyn Demir. The guard asks her relationship to him, and she tells him she is a relative.
Inside the prison, we see Omer talking with Fatih. Fatih congratulates him on getting Husseyn. Fatih tells Omer he guesses Husseyn is now his neighbor and to let him know if he needs anything. Omer tells Fatih he can tell he is up to something. Fatih keeps looking around as if he might be worried that they are being listened to. Fatih tells him he is talking and acting this way because they are family.
Fatih: If Elif finds out, it won’t be good for you. You will have lost power.
Omer continues to probe and Fatih asks what more could he do? He tells Omer he delivered Husseyn to him. What more could Omer want? Omer tells him he has enough evidence to keep Husseyn behind bars for years. He says that Fatih is the witness to the Bahar murder. Omer still needs proof that Tayyar is the man behind it all. The CD found at his (Husseyn’s?) home has voice recordings. That was what Tayyar listened to in the sand quarry. Fatih tells Omer that, yes, Tayyar recorded everything on the night of the murder.
Fatih: Your brother speaks about all his murders on that disk.
Omer: Fatih, I need that CD so I can catch your father.
Outside, Elif is still trying to gain access to Husseyn. The guard returns her ID and tells her they can’t let her see him because her name’s not on the visitor list. She asks to see the warden, but the guard says those are the rules and that they can’t let her in. She tries banging on the window to get the guard to let her talk to the warden, but the guard ignores her.
Inside, Omer is still trying to get the CD so he can arrest Tayyar. Fatih tells him he can’t expect everything to be handed to him. He needs to take some risks as well. Omer tells him he will find it. He tells him not to make things harder for himself. He asks again for the CD.
Fatih sits back and tells him he will talk to the judge about Bahar’s murder.
Fatih: But, I will not say anything about Tayyar. Forget about it. I’ve already erased that recording anyway.
Omer chuckles: You’re lying, aren’t you? Why are you still protecting that man? Think of what he did to you and so many other people. It’s time to stop hiding behind that man!
Fatih: Do you know how afraid I am in here? I’ve never been so afraid. I’m in big danger. Do you understand that, Chief? You’ll get Tayyar on your own. This conversation is over now.
Omer tries to keep the conversation going, but Fatih hangs up and goes to the door.
Inside, we see Husseyn walk into the group room. Ali is at a table and Husseyn joins him.
Husseyn: Ipek has come to see me. Omer is here, too.
Ali: Good.
Husseyn: Omer knows I almost committed suicide but he doesn’t want to see mde He doesn’t want to see his own brother.
Ali: Which brother are you talking about? That man erased you a long time ago. If he hadn’t, would he put you behind bars? You ruined us as well.
Husseyn: What’s wrong Ali? Stop talking like that? You liked me once.
Ali: We walked in the same room together for years, Husseyn. We always covered each other’s backs. I trusted you and thought I was safe with you. I just saved your life today. I tell you, we only have each other. You don’t trust me. You hide from me. You hide your friend’s exit key. Use it to get out of here. [This reference to an exit key is confusing, but I’m including it because it’s more or less in both the English and Spanish. It probably refers to something I’ve forgotten. This scene is before Husseyn shares the ace up his sleeve with Ali.]

Episode 125 #2 of 8
Back in front, Elif keeps knocking, telling the guard she wants to talk to someone with authority. Elif: If I can’t talk to an authorized person, please call the head warden.
Ipek comes out and sees Elif: What are you doing here?
Elif: Ipek, I really need to see Husseyn Demir but they won’t let me in.
Ipek: There’s absolutely nothing you can do, Elif. Insisting won’t change the rules.
Elif: Ipek, please, try your best to get me in to see Husseyn.
Ipek: We had better talk to Omer about this.
Elif: This has nothing to do with Omer. This is between Husseyn and me.
Elif gives up on Ipek, telling her she isn’t giving up on seeing him because she has a lot of questions for Husseyn and no one is going to stop her.
Ipek watches Elif walk to her car and drive off. Ipek is thoughtful.
Omer comes out and tells Ipek he’s sorry he took so long. He asks her if something happened, seeing her expresssion. She tells him nothing’s happened.
Back inside, Ali is writing on a stack of papers. Husseyn is sitting on the next bed watching him. He finally asks him what he’s doing. Ali replies he’s writing a letter to someone. Husseyn tells him he is so lucky. They are both in trouble, but Ali has a family who waits for him, that waves to him. Husseyn says he has no one left. I’m absolutely, all by myself, alone. Ali tells him there is always hope, even for him. Even for both of them. You shouldn’t feel alone.
Ali: Hou can fix everything. Or you can begin a new life somewhere else.
Husseyn: Yeah, really easy. What life? What life is there after 20 years time?
Ali: I’m telling you that we can get out of here, Husseyn, but you aren’t listening. You tried to kill yourself without success. Do you want people to pity you, perhaps? You were wrong. Cut your veins, if you like, but you have to know that nothing will change until you cut your umbilical cord. You will rot here and I will rot with you.
Husseyn: You’re right.
Ali: Good, now tell me what is this ace you have up your sleeve against Tayyar?
Husseyn stands up: I have a really strong ace. You may not believe me. I set it up to keep it away from Tayyar. I have tons of documents that prove everything he did. I have them in a pen drive.
Ali: Great, then that is our salvation. We’ll corner Tayyar and he will have to take us out of here together.
Husseyn’s eyes dart back and forth. He is thinking hard. Is he wondering if he can trust Ali?
Back in Omer’s car where he is driving Ipek, it’s very quiet. Omer asks Ipek if something happened while she was waiting for him at the prison. Ipek tells him that nothing happened.
Omer: Is it because my brother is doing badly? Is that why you are so worried?
Ipek: No, he looked good in spite of everything. I think that he was sad because ??? he couldn’t see you.
Back in the group prison room, Husseyn and Ali are still visiting.
Husseyn: Ali, with respect to cornering Tayyar, how would we get in contact with him?
Ali: I know a guy here. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t be alive now. Take a look around. We locked up most of these guys. Why doesn’t anyone try to fight us? Think about it. Don’t worry. I’ll set it up. We will call Tayyar.
A little later, we see Ali and Husseyn shown into an empty room. They are told they have five minutes. The guard tells them if his boss finds out, he’s finished. Husseyn tells him not to worry. Ali tells Husseyn to call Tayyar.
Husseyn: Ali, don’t be stupid. What was your profession, a greengrocer? Have you forgotten how to do our work? We can’t call Tayyar just like that. They surely are recording your calls. It’s too dangerous to call. I will send a secure message to surprise him. Don’t worry. Hopefully he will be able to answer right away.

Episode 125 # 3 of 8
We see Tayyar walking into his office area. His assistant offers him something to drink. He declines and tells her she can go to bed. She closes the door as she leaves.
Tayyar’s phone buzzes. He has a message: Cousin, call this number from a secure phone. Tayyar thinks for a bit, then gets a memory chip from a box and inserts it into his phone.
The guys are still waiting in the empty room.
Ali’s contact tells Husseyn that there will be a security revision soon so they need to hurry.
Husseyn: Does he think we are enjoying this?
The phone rings. Husseyn answers.
Tayyar: Listen, you nearly ruined all of us for that woman. Do you realize what you did?
Husseyn: Don’t be an idiot. I’m ruined. Don’t delay, cousin. I won’t give you up nor will I give you to Omer. Do you realize that?
Tayyar: I underwent many difficulties to get you out of the country. It was so difficult. And what did you do? You blew it!
Husseyn: Dear Cousin. Don’t make me mad. Because I can ruin your life forever. (Ali is surprised that he is taking that tone with Tayyar.) Listen to me, in case you forgot, I still have the pen drive in my power. If this imprisonment continues much longer, I will get bored and will have to talk. My inner voice will tell me that it would be better to give me the pen drive to Omer.
Tayyar: Where is that pen drive, Husseyn? Where?
Husseyn: I won’t tell you. What happens now is you need to get Ali and me out of jail as fast as you can. Then I will give it to you.
Tayyar: How can I get both of you out? Are you crazy?
Husseyn: Tayyar, that’s your problem. I can’t help you. I’ve made you an offer. I’ll tell you that here inside it’s nothing like how you are living. Understand? Maybe you’d like to join us.
Tayyar caves: I’ll do it, I’ll get both of you out. You’ll hear from me soon.
Husseyn: That’s better.
They hang up.
Ali: Very well done, Husseyn. You’ve got our way out of here!
Ali’s helper tells them they need to go back to their cells. Ali asks Husseyn if they really are going to be saved. What if Tayyar gets arrested first? Husseyn tells him they need to hope that doesn’t happen. Ali asks where the pen drive is hidden, and Husseyn tells him he put it in Burhan’s jacket when Omer arrested him, before they put the cuffs on him. Ali asks him where Burhan is. Husseyn says only Allah knows that. Ali tells him he will find out.
At Elvan’s home, we see Elvan, Hasan, and Burhan sitting in the living room. Apparently, the doorbell has rung because Melike is holding the door open for Nedret and Nilufer.
Elvan gets up and welcomes Nedret.
Nedret: How dare you, Ms. Elvan! Are you going to tell me you knew nothing. Your son is an assassin. I know everything. (We can see that this is already affecting the kids.) He took my brother, part of my blood, and his daughters are now orphans. Poor Zerrin tried to pull the family together, but she died too. Your son is nothing but an assassin and destroyed a great family.
Elvan struggles to get a word in, but Nedret doesn’t let her and continues: Don’t you feel responsible for the sons you raised? Look at them, one is an assassin, and the other destroyed the life of Elif. Destroyed it so much that she lost all interest in life, Ms. Elvan.
Elvan: You can’t blame Omer. My Omer loves Elif very much and she loves him as well.

Episode 125 # 4 of 8
Nedret: I wish it weren’t that way. I’d like that they had never met. We accepted him in our family as one of us. He entered our house. Let Allah punish him and all your family.
Melike: That’s enough, Ms.Nedret. We are just as devastated as you are. This has also affected our family. We are burning in hell, especially Ms. Fatma. She buried her own daughter. She has never blamed us [well, maybe] because she knows it’s not our fault.
Nedret: Of course. Obviously, it’s not your fault. What would all of you have had to do with this?
Omer arrives at the door to hear some of this.
Omer: What is going on here?
Nedret: Look, here you’ve got your second son, bless him.
Omer notices Elvan is looking bad and rushes over to her. She reassures him she is OK.
Omer turns to Nedret: What do you think you’re doing? My mother just got out of the hospital. You have no right to do this. Get out!
Nedret: You have no idea what you are saying, Omer. I have the right. Especially when it’s about my family. I have all the right in the world.
Nilufer: Aunt, Let’s go. It’s better if we leave.
Nedret: Listen, Omer, not you nor anyone of your family dare to come near anyone in my family again, never. No one puts a foot in our house, or you will pay. I mean it.
They finally leave. Omer checks if Elvan is OK, and she says she is. Hasan hugs his grandmother.
Outside, Nedret continues to rant: I warned you many times not to trust that family. I must have told Elif at least 50 times, but she didn’t listen.
Omer walks out at that moment and joins them.
Omer: Ms. Nedret, you can’t speak to my family that way.
Nedret: I can’t? Now you’re giving me orders? Your brother is the assassin. Listen to me, Omer, don’t try to come near Elif or you will find yourself in serious trouble.
Nilufer tries to help: Aunt Nedret, let’s go. I don’t know what we are doing here.
Omer: You have no right to threaten my family.
Nedret: Do you know what shape Elif is in now? Do you know how much she is suffering? How tired she is? You can’t imagine.
Omer: Nilufer, leave us alone for a moment, and you come with me, Nedret. He takes her to the patio. She tells him to speak fast.
Omer: You are the last person who can lecture us. I found out the offer you made Ipek.
Elvan comes out and can see them (and maybe hear them) talking from the balcony.
Omer continues: If you really loved Elif, you wouldn’t have done something like that without her knowing.

Episode 125 # 5 of 8
Nedret: You told her, you did it, you told her, and you cancelled the wedding. You.
Omer: If you bother us again, I will tell Elif everything. I haven’t told her because I didn’t want to cause her more pain.
Elvan may have heard this. She turns to walk back inside.
Nedret, for once, doesn’t say anything and walks off. She and Nilufer continue to walk to their car.
Inside the house, Elvan rushes over to a side table where their phone is. Melike asks what she is doing. Elvan tells her to let her do this: I have to talk to Elif. She will know everything now.
Melike gently hangs up the phone and asks her not to do this. She reminds her that Elif is angry with them and has good reason. It’s better not to bother her. Elvan says she really just wanted to hear her voice.
Omer walks in and asks her not to call her. Not now. We have to wait a time. He helps her into the living room, followed by Melike. Burhan is sitting on a sofa. Melike, full of pain and tears, looks at the little boy sitting there, holding his head in his hands.
Melike: It’s all that (illegitimate child)’s fault. Get out of my sight.
Omer: Melike!
Melike: Everytime I see his face I suffer.
Omer, to Burhan: Come here little one. Let’s go out to the garden for a bit. Let’s go find your jacket.
Elvan: Have you lost your mind, Melike?
Melike: Is it a lie, Mother? Husseyn got his hands dirty because of that kid’s mother.
Elvan: And what is the kid’s fault, my daughter? If we need to blame someone, it’s his mother and father, and they will receive the punishment. Don’t be this way. You are also a mother. Imagine if the same things happened to Hasan. Wouldn’t it break your heart?
Melike is very impactada and sits down. She is obviously thinking hard.
Omer with Burhan in another room: Hey, Buddy, don’t be hurt now, it’s over. Give me five.
Omer holds his hand out, but Burhan doesn’t take it.
Omer: Don’t listen to aunt Melike. She isn’t mad at you. It’s because of something else. She is very mixed up and is in pain. But we want you here. This is your family.
Burhan: But I want my mother.
Omer: Of course, I understand. I promise to take you to her. Now will you give me five?
Burhan does. Omer asks for a hug and gets one.
They hug for a long time, and meanwhile we get a nice closeup of Burhan’s pocket, just in case we’ve forgotten about the pen drive!
At the Denizer mansion, Elif answers the door and finds Ipek.
Ipek: How are you, Elif?
Elif invites her in, but Ipek declines.
Ipek: I’m here because I want to help you so you can see Husseyn. But this must stay between you and me. No one should know, especially not Omer.
Elif: Don’t worry.
Ipek: Good. I will call you soon.
She turns to leave, but Elif calls out: Ipek, why do you want to help me with this?
Ipek: Because I know what it is like to be unable to hold someone responsible. That feeling grows inside until it destroys you. I don’t want you to go through the same.
She smiles and tells Elif she will be seeing her.
In the prison, a note is passed to Ali. He reads the note. He and Husseyn seem to be alone in the big room.
Husseyn asks if there’s news.
Ali: Svetlana has been arrested. Omer took Burhan to his home.
Husseyn isn’t happy with this development because the pen drive will be harder to retrieve now.
Husseyn: Ali, we need to hurry before Omer finds that pen drive.
Ali is thinking.

Episode 125 # 6 of 8
At the police station, Arda and Pelin are observing their target pacing in the interrogation room. Omer asks about him, and they tell him they have interrogated him twice, trying everything, but with no luck. Arda tells him he was hopeful they could break him because he seems to know more than the others. But he doesn’t want to talk. Omer tells them he will try and asks Pelin for the file. Next, we see Omer enter the room with the suspect, apparently named Orhan.
Omer: Sit down. How are you, Orhan?
Orhan won’t even confirm his name. Omer sits and starts to read his file.
Omer: Congratulations, Orhan, you will be going to jail for not cooperating with the Organized Crime Department. Did you know that they turned you in having used you like a young goat for sacrifice? Your friends accused you of everything yet you’re inside and not talking. Look, this makes you Tayyar’s best henchie.
Orhan: Captain, I swear that I don’t even know this Tayyar.
Omer looks at the file: Oh, really, why didn’t your friends say that?
Orhan: I swear I don’t know. Mehmet told me it was because they needed help with something and I just went with them.
Omer: Fine, but why should I believe you? You gave the orders.
Orhan: I was just with them. They told me to go to the hangar and once the plane left, my work would be over. I didn’t do anything, I didn’t touch anything.
Omer: Listen, Orhan, they arrested you helping a fugitive leave the country. If you don’t want to spend the rest of your life in prison, you need to help us. If you’re innocent, there won’t be a problem. Tell us how everything went down and this will just be a mishap. I will help you and you will be saved. Otherwise, you will pass 20 years in prison.
Orhan is thinking hard, very impactado.
Then he talks!
Orhan: The man they were helping leave the country had something that worried his bosses. It was a pen drive. I heard him say this to Mehmet. If the police got hold of that, it would be the end of us and of our boss. That is all I know.
Omer turns to look at the Interrogation room window, knowing Pelin and Arda are watching and are just as excited about this news as he is.
In the prison, prisoners are walking around a courtyard. Ali comes out and goes to Husseyn, fussing that it takes two hours to see a doctor.
Husseyn, in a low voice: Were you able to speak with your wife?
Ali: Yes, she is now on the way to your house to check the jacket of the kid and will hide the pen drive.
Husseyn: Now we just have to hope it’s there.
Ali: Relax, it should be there. If Omer had found it, Tayyar would already be in an adjoining cell. I’m sure Omer doesn’t know that it exists.
Husseyn: I hope you’re right, Ali.
A guard comes out: Husseyn Demir, you have a visitor.
Ali: You were crying because no one comes to see you, now you have some visitors. I’m sure it’s Svetlana.
Husseyn: How could it be, didn’t you say she had been arrested? How could she visit me if she’s in jail?
Husseyn follows the guard. He sees that Omer is the visitor. Husseyn is very surprised.
He sits down and raises the phone: Brother, it’s good to see you. The truth is I was waiting for you yesterday. You must know what I did. I didn’t want to anger you, but don’t worry, I’m fine. Tell Mom I’m fine.
Omer, face like a storm cloud: Where is the pen drive?
Husseyn is taken aback at this because he didn’t think Omer knew about it: What are you talking about?
Omer: What is on it? Records of Tayyar and that’s why he tried to kill you. You know a lot about him.
Husseyn: Brother, I have nothing. Please stop, Omer. You left me in the jail, I no longer have family, and you took my liberty. Isn’t that enough?
Babachita
Episode 125 # 7 of 8
Omer slams the table: No, it’s not enough. You destroyed our lives when you gave Tayyar a hand. He’s still taking you by the hand, but they’re not going to let you leave. I’m going to bring him here too. I will enjoy watching how the two of you roll around in your own garbage.
Omer hangs up and leaves.
Husseyn hangs up more slowly, lost in thought.
Back in the group room, Ali is pacing. Husseyn is let back in. Ali wants to know who it was. Hussseyn leads him over to their beds.
Husseyn: It was Omer. He knows about the pen drive.
Ali: How? How did he find out?
Husseyn: How would I know?
Ali: Don’t tell me he found it.
Husseyn: Not yet. He came to ask me where it is. Listen to me, Ali, that pen drive is our escape key. If Omer finds it, he will put Tayyar in prison in a second. That means Tayyar won’t rest until he finds the way to kill us. This is our only opportunity. Call your wife as soon as possible and make sure she finds the pen drive.
At Elvan’s, Burhan is sitting on his sofa. Elvan is showing a woman (Ali’s wife, Selma, I think) to the other sofa while Melike is striding through the room. The woman is crying.
Selma: Melike, my friend what did our husbands do to us?
Melike: I hope they rot in jail and burn in eternity.
Selma: Who is this boy?
Melike: Don’t act like you didn’t know about this, Selma.
Selma: I don’t know, I swear.
Elvan: He is the youngest child of Husseyn. He is my grandson, Burhan.
Omer is driving Arda. Omer asks if they already went through Svetlana’s house. Arda assures him they did and found nothing. Pelin talked with her and she says she has no information.
Omer: I don’t care where they have hidden it, I’m going to find it. I’m sure what’s on it will help me put Tayyar in prison. Otherwise, they would have killed Husseyn off awhile back.
Arda: Is Tayyar looking for it, too?
Omer: I’m sure he is. We have to find it before he finds it.
At Elvan’s, Selma says that it is a miscarriage of justice. They were just looking for two guys. This is a defamation. Melike asks who is defaming them. Are you saying that Omer ??? is?
Omer arrests both of them. They are both guilty and didn’t think about our kids or about us.
Selma: Melike, I have to think that they are lying.
Melike: Of course they are. Surely you don’t have compassion for when they committed these crimes. Did he think of your son? I don’t feel pity for Husseyn. I hope he ends up paying for all that he’s done and that he pays for his debts here and also that he rots in hell.
This causes Selma to cry. [Maybe; I think she just wants that pen drive]
Elvan comforts her and tells her not to torment herself more.
Elvan: Burhan, why don’t you go to Hasan’s room and take a nap. Your clothes are there. It will help you feel better to rest awhile.
Elvan stands and tells him they will go together.
Melike stares at Selma, who tells her she isn’t feeling well and asks permission to use the bathroom to wash her face.

Episode 125 # 8 of 8
Elif is climbing some stairs when Ipek calls her. Ipek tells her she managed to get a secret reunion in the district attorney’s office for tomorrow at 3PM. I had to tell them that Husseyn wanted to meet with his lawyer, so this will be not be recorded nor will there be any record of it. So, it’s important that Omer doesn’t know. Elif agrees and thanks her.
Omer and Arda walk into the office just as Ipek is finishing the call.
Omer assumes she was talking with Tolga, who is still at the hangar.
Ipek stumbles a bit and tells him Tolga said Pelin went to help but they hadn’t found the pen drive.
Arda: Husseyn must have put it in a post office box or a safe deposit box at the bank. It hasn’t disappeared.
Omer: We trapped him trying to leave the country. Most likely is he had it with him in order to give it to Tayyar.
Arda: Omar, our colleague went over carefully and didn’t find anything. Maybe he didn’t bring it with him.
Omer: Then I don’t know, Arda. But I’m going to find it.
At Elvan’s, Selma carefully opens the bathroom door. No one is in the living room. She lets herself into Burhan’s room. She starts going through toys and boxes. Uh oh, she has the jacket. Bingo! She finds the pen drive. Just then Melike walks in. She sees that Selma is hiding something. Melike asks why she is in that room. Selma lies and says she was going to pray and looked for a room in which to do so. Melike asks what Burhan’s jacket is for if she is praying. Selma gives a convoluted answer, that she was going to get her son a jacket like that.
Melike: Selma, you are acting strange. You really should see a doctor.
Melike leaves and Selma holds on to the pen drive for dear life!

Babachita
Thanks for the recap, Babachita. You weren’t confused about the “key” reference. It was about Huso’s “ace”. Nedret is horrible. I want the sisters to uncover all the dirt she did. We are near the end of Turkish episode 42 out of 54.
I’ll have #126 posted soon. I took advantage of Darcy’s vacation to give myself extra time to read your recap and recap my episode.
#126 part 1
Selma has the usb and leaves the Demir house. Ali calls her and she tells him she has it. He is elated. Ah, bitanem, he says, from now on, everything will be much better for us. I have to hang up now. You know what to do. I trust you.
Our guys have been looking for the usb, too, with no luck. Arda suggests that Omer talk to Burhan, maybe he knows something. Omer calls home and Melike says that Hasan took the boy to play football. She tells him that Selma came. She cried and cried. Burhan felt bad and that’s why Elvan told them to go play.
Omer asks, who is Selma? Why was she there? Ali’s wife, Melike replies, she came to talk to me because we share the same fate. She was very strange. She liked Huseyin’s son’s jacket and said she wanted to buy one for her son. She’s completely lost her mind. That’s all Omer needs to know. He tells Arda they have to go to Ali’s house. His wife has the usb.
Huseyin finds a cellmate sitting on his bed. There are words exchanged, then Huso punches the guy and knocks him down. At that point, a guard brings Ali back to the cell and stops the fight from escalating. The guy warns Huso, start counting… these are your last days. I’ll make you pay for the 15 years you stole from my life. Huso looks shaken.
Ali tells Huso that his wife has the usb, it’s safe. Huso hopes so. Don’t let anyone talk her into handing it over. Ali says don’t worry.
Segue to the next scene: a henchie hands the usb to Tayyar! So this is the famous usb drive… Flashback. We see Selma get into the henchie’s car. He asks, were you able to get it? She hands it over. Henchie says, they will call you later. You can go. End flash. Tayyar opens the drive. Looks like Huso had a lot of info on Tayyar. What a shame, Tayyar says, a great shame.
Selma exits her building with a suitcase and her son in hand. She tells him, don’t worry, in a couple of hours no one will be able to find us. Omer and Arda intercept her. Arda tells her they have something to talk about. Selma says they are in a big hurry. Omer gets in her way. He asks, do you have the drive with you or not? You took it from my house, from Burhan’s pocket. The boy speaks up—leave my mother alone. Arda tells him not to worry. This man will talk to your mother a moment. Come with me. Selma nods at her son that it’s okay.
Omer asks Selma, where’s the drive? She claims she has no idea what he’s talking about. He tells her that Melike saw her with the jacket. The drive was in the pocket, right? Selma says, I was just holding it. Melike must have misunderstood. Omer explains, the information on that drive could lock Tayyar up. We’d finally send a dangerous criminal to jail. If you don’t want to help us, you’re also committing a crime. Where did you hide it?
Selma says she doesn’t have it. Another flashback. Selma is being held in Tayyar’s van at a remote location. They have her son and threaten to harm him. Tayyar makes a call to Ali. Selma shouts into the phone—Ali! Ali! Save our son! They took him! The henchie covers her mouth. Ali shouts—Selma!
#126 part 2
Tayyar gets on the phone. Ali asks, what did you do to my son? Don’t touch him! I did nothing to him, Tayyar replies, he’ll just be our guest for a few days. That depends on you. Ali barks—leave him alone! Tayyar says, if you listen to me, I’ll let him go. Ali asks, what do you want from me, Allah belanı versin! Tayyar answers, my cousin is coming to your cell, he has a usb drive that belongs to me. Give it to me and I’ll give you your son. End flash.
Huso puts his hand on Ali’s shoulder and smiles. Thanks, you’re a good friend. If I hadn’t listened to you, I would have died here. Now Tayyar will definitely get us out of here. We got away with it, son. We did it. Ali smiles back at Huso, but his face darkens as soon as he walks away.
I don’t think you understand, Omer tells Selma, there’s no chance of Ali and Huseyin getting out. If you don’t give us the drive, Tayyar will kill them both. Allah korusun, Selma worries. Omer asks, did you really think that they’d let them live? Do you think they’d really kill them, Selma asks in a panic.
Selma breaks down, Tayyar kidnapped my son! Ali found out where the drive was and told me to go to your house and get it. I took the drive and handed it over.. I gave it to a man and after that, they gave my son back. Selma sobs.
Ipek brings Elif to the prison. She flashes her badge at the gate and says the DA is waiting for Elif. Ipek tells Elif she has to go back to the station. Elif assures her that no one will know about this.
Asli stands outside the police station. What is she planning?
Omer is very upset over the loss of the usb drive. Arda is mad that they never thought to check Burhan’s jacket. Omer realizes that’s the reason Huso created all that drama by smashing the car window. Arda asks, what do we do now? We’ll go to Tayyar, Omer replies. Arda thinks he must have already destroyed the drive. That’s why we have to be quick, Omer responds then says, I have an idea. He turns the car around.
A guard escorts Huso to an office to meet his lawyer. Huso says he didn’t ask for a lawyer. The guard doesn’t know anything else. Huso is stunned when he sees Elif in the room. He asks, what are you doing here? I came to see if you could look me in the eyes, she replies, look me in the face and tell me why you killed my father.
Huso shouts for the guard—this woman isn’t a lawyer! I don’t want to see her! Elif rushes over to stand between Huso and the door. You’re not going anywhere without answering me, she states. Huso starts to speak… Elif interrupts, don’t you dare say my name again! You took everything from me. My past, my future. I want an explanation. Why did you do it?
Asli enters the squad room. Pelo is there. Asli, what are you doing here? Are you okay? Asli answers, I’m a murderer. I killed my mother. She holds her hands out to be cuffed. Arrest me. I’ll serve my sentence.
Omer comes to see Fatih. Fatih jokes, you’ve become a regular visitor. You can’t live without me? I have a proposition for you, Omer answers. Fatih makes another joke that his schedule is full, they can hang out another time. I thought you were fond of your freedom, Omer replies. Fatih says the only thing he’s fond of is his wife. Then listen to me, Omer says, because Nilufer is outside, too. She needs you. Fatih asks, what do you mean? Omer responds, I’m saying that if you help me catch Tayyar, I’ll get you out of here.
#126 part 3
Elif wants answers. She rips into Huso. What did my father do to you?! What did I do to you?! What did you feel when the daughter of the man you killed called you brother, trusted you, let you into her house? You were singing while Omer asked me to marry him. What were you thinking when you put the rings on our fingers?! You lied to us, looking at us in the face! What does it feel like to laugh at people and be a hypocrite? You’re a murderer and you have a stone for a heart. Even Tayyar is better than you! [I don’t agree, neyse…]
Elif does not let up. She screams in Huso’s face. I waited for months for you to find my father’s killer! And you didn’t feel the slightest remorse. She starts shoving him. You took my life, my father, my mother, and left me alone!
Huso can’t stand it anymore. He pushes Elif off and shouts—let me go! If I stay silent it’s because I know you are suffering, he warns, but my patience is running out. I have no intention of standing here and listening to you insult me! Whatever Omer said is true. Your father wasn’t a saint either. He was so dishonest that he worked for Tayyar. Open your eyes. Your father wanted to deceive Tayyar, take some diamonds, and run! Do you understand?!
Elif starts shoving Huso again. Who do you think you are to talk about my family and my father like that? How can you justify killing someone?! Huso grabs Elif and replies, I don’t justify it. Some people deserve to live, and others deserve to die. Your father didn’t. He died, and when he died, he took my life with him! Do you understand?
You’re the one who doesn’t deserve to live, Elif shouts, you’re a murderer! Murderer! She picks up scissors from the desk. Omer is in the hallway and he hears Elif. He runs to the door and opens it. Elif stabbed Huso in the shoulder. Elif, what are you doing? Omer makes her drop the scissors. Are you crazy? What did you do? Huso tells his brother to take Elif away. I’m okay, take her.
Omer takes Elif from the room. Huso sits and picks up the scissors and then drops them. The guards come into the room. Call an ambulance! Who did this to you? We don’t hear an immediate answer.
Omer follows Elif out of the prison. What’s wrong with you? She’s in shock. He hugs her. Everything’s fine. What’s wrong? Say something. She starts walking away. He calls after her, where are you going? He won’t let her drive like this. Omer gets in the driver’s seat and they go. Ipek is there in her car, and she sees Omer leave with Elif.
Huso is treated and he’s questioned by the DA. Who did this to you? Huso says he’s okay, it isn’t serious. DA asks, was it Elif Denizer? It’s not her fault, Huso replies, I fell on the scissors. DA says that’s impossible. Huso claims, I was dizzy and leaned on the desk, and I fell on them. It was an accident. The DA says there were people who heard her screaming. Huso says that Elif saved his life. This is just a misunderstanding. It’s not serious.
Pelo tells Asli this is ridiculous and she should leave. Asli insists on being arrested. Pelo says everyone knows it was an accident. Leave before someone else comes. Asli says, for the first time in my life, I want to do the right thing. Pelo says, if you want to do the right thing, go home. Tolga enters. Asli makes a beeline to him. Help me. I want to turn myself in and she won’t let me. I should go to prison, I murdered my mother. You have to arrest me. Tolga is dumbfounded. He looks at Pelo. Asli holds out her hands for the cuffs.
#126 part 4
Omer has to stop the car because Elif is sick. She pukes at the side of the road. She cries, Omer, what have I done? What have I done? He lifts her up. It’s over, it’s over. Everything went dark, she explains, it happened in an instant. So this is what it’s like for a person to lose control. Omer says, don’t think about it. She cries, I wanted to kill him, for a moment, I wanted to kill him. How could I do such a thing? But you didn’t kill him, Omer replies, don’t blame yourself.
Elif recounts, he told me horrible things about my father. It happened in a second. I didn’t plan it, it just happened! I know, Omer replies, I know you well, you don’t have to explain it to me. It’s okay. Elif can’t calm down. Omer shows Elif his phone. Huso is okay. He told the DA it was an accident. He knows he provoked you. That’s why he didn’t want to blame you. He wanted to make it up to you.
Omer gets a call from Pelo. I suppose it’s about Asli.
Tolga puts Asli in a cell. The DA will come to take your statement. You will wait here.
Elmer get back in the car. Elif tells Omer that after she got the Foundation list, Tayyar threatened her. If I didn’t give the list back, the images would be shown on TV. Asli was there and she saw it. He asks, didn’t you explain it was an accident? Elif worries, the most important thing is to get her out of there. She won’t be able to handle it. She might try to kill herself. We must do something.
Tayyar holds up the infamous usb drive and tells his henchie, Mumtaz. See this small object? Don’t let it fool you. Because it could destroy me with all the info it contains. It was difficult to get but it was worth it. Give me your lighter.
Tayyar is about to burn it when his phone rings. It’s Huso, who asks, how are you? Oh, it’s good to hear from you, Tayyar replies. You sound fine. I see you can call whenever you want. Luckily I’m fine, Huso says, I almost died. Elif attacked me with a pair of scissors. Tayyar says wow, that girl is getting tougher. She’s changed.
Huso agrees but he wants to talk about something else—I want you to get me out of here. Otherwise, Omer will get the usb drive. You have 24 hours. Tayyar looks at the drive. Don’t worry, Huseyin. I would even send you to the moon for that drive. I’ll speed up the process. I appreciate it, Huso says, I’ll be waiting. Tayyar destroys the drive and tells Mumtaz that Huseyin must get out of prison.
Mumtaz says, you have destroyed the drive. Why help him? Because I need a permanent solution, Tayyar replies, I have to get rid of him. Mumtaz asks, you want to send him to Denmark? No, Tayyar answers, he’ll go to the graveyard. We’ll plan to kill him. The news I got excited me, my palm is tingling. How can I explain it, Mumtaz. Suddenly, a light goes off in my head, and it says something impossible is going to happen.
I have talented men in jail, Mumtaz says, trust me. One stab and he’ll disappear. I’ll give the order. You don’t think big, Tayyar replies, that’s why you will always stay where you are. I’m talking about giving a spectacular end to my cousin. One that suits him. His corpse will be very useful to me because all obstacles in my way will go with it. Besides, it’s going to cause consequences that some people will never be able to forget.
Elmer arrive at the station. Omer tells her to go in but he has something else to do. He will be right back. He goes to his car. Pelo comes out and calls Elif. Please come. Elif follows Pelo inside and Omer drives away.
#126 part 5
Elif visits Asli. She has 5 minutes. The sisters hug. Elif asks, why did you do this? So I could remember how it all happened, Asli says, I could finally remember. Zerrin took my baby from me when I was in the hospital. We get the flash back to Asli reacting to the loss of her baby and Zerrin’s role.
Asli explains, she took him from me. That baby was the only thing Taner could leave me… and she killed him. Just as she killed my childhood, my youth, my dreams. My mother drove me crazy. Whatever she wanted, always happened. She wanted me hospitalized. She wanted me sent abroad. She was the reason we were distant. She was always comparing us. My mother died… and I am the cause
Elif says, it was just an accident. You didn’t do it intentionally. Asli replies, I felt a great relief. I would never have to answer to anyone anymore. I said, “now the strings of my life are in my own hands. I won’t do anything for my mother.” Elif hugs her and tells her, I’m so sorry.
I’ll tell you one thing, Asli says, since mom died, I haven’t had any breakdowns. I’m fine, but you were left without a mother. That’s my biggest sin. I will never be able to forgive myself. And now, I’m going to leave Can without a mother. Asli realizes and cries, my son will grow up without his mother. Help me, what did I do? I’m sorry, I need to get out of here. The sisters cry in each other’s arms.
Nilufer arrives at the station. She asks Pelo what’s happening. Elif appears and says Asli is so regretful. Pelo says she tried to talk her out of it, but Tolga took her statement. Now she’s in the DA’s hands. We can’t do much. All we can do is convince the DA, Pelo says.
Omer comes to see Tayyar. Tayyar greets him—oh, I was waiting for you, Omer. I’d say, “is it you again?” but that would be rude. I have two, good for nothing sons and even they don’t visit me this much. Let’s call it a matter of profession, Omer replies, when a police officer discovers a criminal, they always follow them. Tayyar answers, even though you’re wrong about this, I must confess, I like you. It’s a pleasure to see you. Could you visit me more often? You don’t need to ask, Omer says, I’m capable of coming here every day until I get what I want.
And what brings you here today, Tayyar asks, are you worried about my health? Thank God, dialysis is helping me. Omer leans over Tayyar’s desk. I came here so we can clear things up. Covering up a murder. Anything else, Tayyar asks. Yes, Omer replies, there are so many other things. Asli is in jail now. She said she killed her mother. You have to testify so she can get out.
What are you talking about, Tayyar asks, why do I have to testify? Omer says, Zerrin Hanim died in your hospital. We know it was an accident. Asli had psychological problems and what did you do? You covered everything up. Or are you going to deny that you presented false witnesses and statements? If not, Asli wouldn’t be in jail. Tayyar answers, but she did something stupid. Let me tell you something. Ahmet Denizer didn’t do a good job educating those poor girls.
#126 part 6
They don’t play with other people’s lives like you have, Omer says, they listen to their conscience. That’s what she did. Tayyar replies, I don’t think it’s right to interfere with Asli’s decision. Who knows, she might benefit from being in prison. Omer states, you’ll get her out of jail.
Tayyar says, of course I will. I’m willing only if you give me something in return. Elif took a list from my foundation that contains students’ names. I’m sure you have a copy of it, right? A password I required to see it anyway. Give me the list, and I’ll save Asli. Admit it Omer, my plan is better than yours this time.
Elif and Nilu wait at the station. Ipek and Arda arrive. He’s called to sign some paperwork. Ipek heads over to Elif, who asks, what did you do? Elif answers, I went crazy. I’m sorry. What do you mean, Elif asks. Omer’s going to kill me when he finds out I helped you. Elif says Omer will never know. Don’t worry. Ipek is upset with Elif. She doesn’t want to help Elif anymore and walks away. Nilu asks Elif if something happened. Elif doesn’t tell her anything. Omer calls Elif. Come outside, I’m here.
Huso is brought back to his cell. The guard whispers, do something to your wound so they take you to the hospital. They’ll get you out. Do whatever is necessary. Ali asks Huso what happened. We don’t hear more.
Back to the station. Elif meets Omer outside. She asks him where he went. He says he went to Tayyar. She asks why. I did it to help Asli, he says. Elif’s not happy about that. He asks her to think about it. Your mother died at his hospital. He can save Asli. He has to help us. He’s got reports on Asli’s mental state and the treatment she received. Elif replies, Asli is a victim of that scoundrel. He’s the one who should go to jail. Isn’t the manipulation of evidence a crime?
Omer says, you know if we arrest him, he’ll get out immediately. He’d find someone to blame and get away with it. Elif asks, so why would he want to help us? I don’t think he wants to do us a favor. Omer admits Tayyar asked him for something in return. He wants the list. Elif says she won’t give it back. Omer says the file is important, but they couldn’t even open it. If we give it to Tayyar, Asli will be freed. Elif refuses.
Okay, Omer warns, so there won’t be a deal with Tayyar, he won’t help Asli, and she will have to spend the rest of her life in prison. Is that what you want? Elif looks at Omer.
And we are out.
Great summary, Dondi! It’s exciting to be getting closer to the end. Tayyar burned a usb but to me it looked different from the red one Husseyn had. I’m sure there has to be another copy at least.
Interesting that Husseyn didn’t accuse Elif of the scissors attack and had put his prints on the scissors.
Asli’s comment that since her mom died she hasn’t had any attacks was also interesting. Did Zerrin provoke her crazy behavior somehow?
Babachita
I agree, there definitely has to be a copy of the USB somewhere besides what was given to Tayyer. Either Hussein made another copy and stashed it somewhere as extra insurance, or Ali's wife hopefully downloaded it to a computer or another pen drive.
I get the impression that Asli may like Levant. He's not a bad guy, just not the right guy for Elif.
Thanks Babachita and Dondi for the excellent recaps.
