Episode 61 #1 of 10
“Many Truths”

Lots of drama in this episode! It’s a treat to watch the actors, so hopefully viewers will get to see it and not only read this summary.

Pelin gets a call from Ferit while pacing in the attic suite. Ferit asks if she is in the room and if she has eaten. She tells him not to worry, that some food was brought for her. She asks him where he is. We now see he is calling from the auto. He tells her they are going to deal with the issue, and it’s very important that she not leave the house. He tells her just to wait. Pelin, pleads with him. She tells him those men are dangerous. Ferit tells her they don’t know them, but that they know us. Abidin agrees with this. He reminds her not to leave the house and to relax. After hanging up, Ferit looks at Abidin and says they’re in it now. He says he hopes for the best. Abidin’s face shows that he is very worried.

At an impressive meeting place we see Serter’s family gathering. Uncle Mafia is waiting for them. He and Serter then walk up a long flight of stairs and kiss the hand of Uncle Vahit who welcomes Serter and tells him that if he can get out of this situation with honor, he’ll be OK. Uncle Vahit looks at the group of henchies lined up behind Serter and Uncle Mafia.
Uncle Vahit: You brought these men because you don’t trust me. Or…you have other things planned, and you lied to me?
Serter denies this and Uncle Mafia says that Serter is an only child. There is no one else at his side. That’s why we took precautions.
Serter: Uncle Vahit, you know we make these decisions together. I’d come alone if it was up to me.
Uncle Mafia: I apologize, sir. After only one call, we decided coming here was our condition.
Serter promises that everything will turn out well.
Uncle Vahit takes a moment and then agrees and tells them to go ahead. He adds that he hopes this won’t bother Mr. Halis.
Up drives another van followed by Ferit’s auto. We have Halis, Latif, Orhan, Ferit, and Abidin. They start to climb the stairs and are closely followed by the mafia henchies.
When they reach Uncle Vahit, he welcomes Halis, telling him it’s a great honor and giving Halis the kiss of respect.
Halis: Thank you. You didn’t deceive us. I only wanted to speak with you before this becomes an irreversible conflict.
Uncle Vahit: I understand. Welcome Mr. Orhan. (They shake hands.) Mr. Latif, welcome.
Latif: Thank you Mr. Vahit.
Halis nods his head toward Ferit: Ferit, my grandson.
There’s a slight hesitation, and then Uncle Vahit holds out his hand for Ferit’s kiss of respect.
Uncle Vahit: Right this way.
The welcomed men enter, while the henchies remain outside. Inside, Serter’s group has arranged themselves with Serter seated at the apparent head of the table, Uncle Mafia behind him on his right and three others on his left.
Halis walks in, and Serter rises.
They meet and stare at one another.
Uncle Vahit announces: Mr. Serter.
Halis: Didn’t they teach you good manners, boy? Won’t you kiss my hand?
Uncle Mafia steps in front of Serter: Only for those who deserve it, sir.
Everyone is impactado.

Episode 61 #2 of 10
Halis takes his cane in his left hand and gives an impressive Ottoman slap to Uncle Mafia. Men start to converge, but Serter reaches out to prevent Uncle Mafia from responding. Uncle Mafia looks at everyone with wild eyes. Halis shows no emotion, and then slowly, almost imperceptibly, bows toward the other men accompanying Serter. They bow their heads back.
Uncle Mafia’s eyes grow even wilder as he sees this. He finally lowers his head.
Ferit smirks, which could undo everything that Halis just accomplished.
Orhan then asks Uncle Vahit if this is his idea of mediation. The nerve of these people.
Uncle Vahit asks Halis for forgiveness.
Serter then bows to Halis and asks for forgiveness: Allow me to kiss your hand. (He then backs up to Uncle Mafia): Uncle, wait for me outside.
Uncle Mafia: I’d rather die.
Serter: You’d be better off dead.
Uncle Mafia turns to leave.
Halis tells the three men with Uncle Mafia that they can leave, thus leaving Uncle Vahit and Serter only from that family.
Halis then walks to the very long table and takes a seat at the foot of the table. I’m assuming Serter is standing at the head of the table. (But I could be wrong.). Halis being seated first probably is out of respect, and finally, Serter sits. Ferit is standing to the side of Halis. (Uncle Vahit and Orhan are seated on the same side of the table.)
Halis: Now, listen to me well. You lost your parents very young. The responsibility of leading a great family is obviously a heavy burden for you. But your future does not depend on violence, fighting, or those heartless men you run around with everywhere. You’ll earn the title of “sir” only if you demonstrate a good education and dignity. (Serter lowers his head at this.). Don’t lower your head or do anything to deserve lowering it. (Serter raises his head.) But I know what it is to receive such responsibilities when you’re so young. I, too, made many mistakes. That’s why I’m here to advise you. But before that, I think it would be a just and noble act to ask my family for forgiveness for what you’ve done to us.
Serter: It wasn’t my intention. I ask forgiveness from you and your family.
Uncle Vahit nods at this. Ferit is holding his chin, still smirking like it’s all a big joke.
Halis: Very well. Latif, now leave us alone. We’ll talk a little more and reach an agreement. Orhan gestures to indicate that Ferit should leave. There is a delay, and Ferit makes a shrugging gesture as if wondering what’s up. Finally, Ferit, still smirking, shuffles off behind Latif, leaving the four deal makers at the table.

At the yali, Gulgun, Ifakat, Fuat, and Asuman are in the living room. Gulgun announces she has a call from Orhan. After listening, she sighs and says: What a relief. She then tells the rest that everything is good and they are coming home. Orhan asks for Fuat. She gives him the phone.
The women look relieved.

At the Sanli home, Seyran is sitting looking out the window. The deer and antler silver statue is in front of her, and it looks like it’s sprouting from her head in the shot we have from the rear. She is thinking hard. Then her phone rings. It’s Ferit.
Ferit: Dear wife, how are you?
She grins and says everything must have worked out. Ferit boasts that she can tell just from the tone of his voice.
Ferit: How in love are you, Seyran?
Seyran: Ferit, can you tell me without messing around? I just need to know if you’re OK.
Ferit tells her they are all fine and on their way to the yali. It’s amusing to see the faces of Ferit and Abidin. Ferit thinks all is well, whereas Abidin realizes how close they were to a dangerous escalation.

Episode 61 #3 of 10
Ferit tells her he is going to see his parents and then will go to her. She tells him she hopes he has learned the lesson. He jokes around, making sounds like they are losing their signal. He laughs and tells her he will talk to her when they have a signal again. He laughs heartily and Abidin smiles.
Seyran: I meant what I said last night, so keep that in mind.
Ferit: Fine. If you don’t come back to the yali soon, I’ll move in with you.
Esme peeks in and tells Seyran that Defne and a man are there to wish her well. Apparently Ferit also hears this. Seyran tells her mother she’ll be right there.
Ferit: That was my mother-in-law, right? What’s Defne doing there? And what’s she doing with a man, Seyran?
Seyran: I don’t know, Ferit. I was talking to you. OK? Later, I have to go.
Ferit no longer has a happy face: So, Ms. Defne and a man are there.
Seyran: Yes, Ferit. Relax. I have to go. I’m hanging up. See you later.
Ferit tosses his phone and rubs his face in frustration: It looks like they are trying to drive me crazy.
Abidin: Relax.
We see the vans arrive back at the yali followed by Ferit and Abidin.

Soon after, we see Gulgun hugging Ferit. She tells him she is so happy he is OK. Everyone is standing in the entryway. Ferit tells his mother she should have seen Grandfather: He practically annihilated those guys.
Halis: Don’t think what happened today was a game, Ferit. The problems of this world are never normal problems. It’s about human lives, of our own loved ones and family.
Fuat smiles a bit as he hears this.
Halis: Do you understand what I’m saying, son?
Ferit: I understand, Grandfather. I was so excited about what I saw that I got carried away. Excuse me.
Ifakat sort of smiles at this. Halis also smiles and tells him to go and find his wife: Tonight, we’ll dine together like a big family.
Ferit agrees and Ifakat chimes in: Sir, with your permission, I’ll go with Ferit and take the time to give Ms. Hattuc my well wishes.
Orhan also chimes in: Dad, if you don’t mind, I also have things to do.
Halis: I just want us to be together for dinner this evening. You can continue with your business.
Up in the attic suite, Pelin is impatiently waiting, looking out over the water. Ferit comes in. She runs to him: Are you OK?
He tells her he answered “yes” a thousand times already over the phone. She tells him she couldn’t relax until she saw him. He winces a bit from his wound and she apologizes. She asks to see it, and he shows her the bandaged wound. He tells her Grandfather handled everything and that the case is closed.
Pelin keeps going on about how ashamed she is, that it was all her fault. He tells her he hopes she can stop thinking of it.
He notices her bags and asks if she is going somewhere. She tells him she is going home. He asks if she has found a place. He tells her he has something to do, and he says he can do it and then drop her off. She says she hasn’t found a house. She is going to return to Izmir. Just for a while, to clear her thoughts. Ferit doesn’t like this. She tells him at first she thought being with him was hurting her, but when she was alone, she was able to think better. She tells him she is hurting him. Ferit doesn’t agree. He tells her what she needs to do is not think. Then she won’t go anywhere. He tells her they will find a nice house and she will move there. He is very insistent. He asks why she thinks he got all involved in this.

Episode 61 #4 of 10

Ferit: You won’t go anywhere. You’ll wait for me here, OK?
She agrees.
He asks if she wants to see his wound again. They are laughing together.

At the Sanli home, Kazim is trying to read a about a review (I think) of one of Efehan’s plays on a tablet. Efehan is there and tells him there are documents and other articles on the tablet as well. He is trying to convince him that Seyran’s job would be a good thing.
Kazim decides his daughter has made a good deal and says so.
Kazim asks Efe where the salary clause is on the contract. He wants to read it. Kazim’s eyebrows go up big time! “Bravo!” He winks at Seyran. Kazim says they are in agreement. He says he thinks he doesn’t need to see any more.
The doorbell sounds, and Hattice says it must be Ifakat and Ferit. Now Efehan’s eyebrows go up.
Defne says she thinks it’s time for them to leave. Kazim disagrees. He says they should have some dessert.
Suna welcomes Ifakat and Ferit. Ferit is chewing on his mouth as he enters the room. Ifakat greets Kazim. There’s some small talk, and we see Ferit and Efe staring daggers at each other.
Kazim: Luckily, we’ve been able to see our friends and enemies under the pretext of this injury. And, we’ve made new friends as well, indicating he’s speaking about Defne and Efehan. Efehan wishes Ferit a quick recovery.
Ferit: What the hell are you doing here? What’s going on?
Defne tells him they came to wish him well.
Ferit: I thought you were my mother’s friend.
Kazim is confused about where this conversation is going and looks to Seyran.
Ferit continues: I don’t know why you didn’t go to the yali.
Defne: I spoke to Orhan yesterday and he told me you’d be here. That’s why.
Ifakat’s eyebrows raise and she asks in a very sharp tone: When did you talk to Orhan?
Defne: If we’ve offended you, we’ll go to the yali. Don’t worry. But I don’t understand such an exaggerated reaction.
That puts Ifakat in a weaker position. Efe looks very concerned all of a sudden. He tells them they need to excuse him and Defne because they are about to leave. Obviously, it’s been a difficult day for everyone.
He apologizes again and shakes hands with Kazim.
Efe tells them they can see themselves out as they have guests.
Suna: No need. I’ll accompany you out, please.
Ferit’s head jerks around to look at Suna.
Kazim: Esme! Our guests are leaving. Come here! Look, Ms. Ifakat also came.
Defne excuses herself. Kazim thanks them as they quickly walk by him to the door.
Efe whispers to Seyran: See you later. He walks past Ferit without saying hello or goodbye.
Ferit thanks Mr. Kazim. Ferit grabs Seyran and tells her to come with him. Kazim asks where he is going and tells him to wait.
Ifakat reassures Kazim that all is in order: Since their marriage has been through so much, let them talk alone. Kazim agrees but wonders aloud why Ferit looks at him like that.
Kazim lowers himself to the floor because his legs are more comfortable that way, saying he feels like 80 people trampled him. Ifakat seems to be putting on a charm offensive.
Upstairs, Ferit angrily asks Seyran what that man (Efe) was doing there.
Seyran: What’s with you, Ferit? They came to wish you well.
Ferit: You know that’s not true, Seyran. They came to try and impress you and win your father over. Don’t you get that? Are you blind?
Seyran: I don’t know when you’re going to stop thinking that everyone’s like you.

Episode 61 #5 of 10
He tells her they will talk about this at home. Get ready. Grandfather wants us all to eat together tonight.
Seyran asks if “all” includes Pelin: Is that girl still at the house?
Ferit: Yes but she’s leaving soon. I’ll find a way. Get ready.
Seyran agrees. Neither looks very happy. After Ferit leaves the room, we see Seyran have a meltdown. She falls to the floor, holding her head and makes a nearly silent scream, keening, as she lets her emotions fly. She’s having intense flashbacks of good and bad things, crying throughout:
1. When her father locked her up with no food or water to force her to marry Ferit.
2. When she first was introduced to Ferit’s lifestyle while still in her bridal gown. Ferit telling her I’ll do what I want with whom I want!
3. Ferit driving her in the auto: You always run from me. You say you don’t like me, you don’t want to have my child, but I want to be a father, Seyran.
4. Wearing the white lace short nightie as she walked toward Ferit, willing to pay her debt.
5. Ferit telling her that Pelin’s always been in his life, and she always will be.
6. Ferit taking her to enjoy his favorite acai bowl breakfast at his favorite restaurant on the yacht, holding hands.
7. Seyran: He’s still like a child. His craziness, his anger his jealousy. (She sees herself hugging him and crying.) But his heart is pure.
8. Ferit: If not with you, then maybe I’ll have a child with Pelin! It could be, maybe! I’m thinking about it!
9. Ferit seeing himself as a child watching her choose her New Year’s decorations. Grown up Ferit smiles watching her. Do you get it now? Are you happy? The two of them with ornaments and antler heads, smiling.
10. Kissing in the airport.
11. Ferit: I didn’t want to. Grandfather made me. Respect it, at last.
12. Ferit bringing Pelin into the yali.

After remembering Ferit bringing Pelin into the yali, Seyran stops crying, wipes away her tears, and stands tall, looking like she is ready for battle.

Downstairs, Hattice, Ferit, Suna, and Ifakat are on the sofa. Esme is still getting Kazim comfortable on the floor with additional pillows.
Kazim: What is it? Wait. What are you doing? You are taking it out on me while you get the chance. (Hattice smiles at this, so maybe Esme was taking the opportunity!)
Seyran floats serenely down the stairs, standing tall, no smile, and joins the group.

At the yali, Pelin is on the balcony waiting.
Apparently Ferit and Abidin have just returned to the yali, and Seyran can see Pelin. So can Ifakat.
Ifakat: Ferit, what is that girl doing on the terrace?
Ferit throws his arm out in a gesture of frustration, like “what can I do?” Seyran adjusts her neck left and right. Ferit has a very conflicted expression. Seyran, walking in front of Ferit, seems aware of the pressure on him and has a satisfied almost smirk on her face. Ferit asks her if she is OK.
Ifakat is getting worried now: Ferit, hold your wife back. She’ll make a scene.
He tries to stop her and reaches out.
She snaps back: What are you doing? Let go of me! Don’t interfere!
Up they go, Seyran first, then Ferit, Ifakat. Gulgun and Asuman meet them on the landing.
Ferit catches Seyran: Stop it. Grandfather is here. Please calm down.

Episode 61 # 6 of 10
Seyran is looking daggers at him and tells him to get out of the way.
Ferit is surprised and she is able to get to the attic stairs ahead of him.
Ferit: Seyran, are you crazy? What are you doing?
Seyran enters the attic suite where Pelin is impatiently waiting. Seyran walks over to Pelin with her arms crossed. Ferit tries to run interference: Seyran, that’s enough. Please.
Pelin: What is it? Is there a problem?
Ferit looks at Pelin with wild eyes, shaking his head.
Seyran: Yes, you are the problem. Now, pack your bags and leave at once.
Ferit: Seyran…
Seyran: Shut up!
Ferit: Seyran, are you crazy? What are you doing?
Seyran: I told you, shut up! (to Pelin) Are you leaving now? Or would you rather I kick you out?
Pelin looks pitifully at Ferit.
Ferit: You have lost your mind. Who do you think you’re chasing out of the house?
Seyran looks at him incredulously and throws her handbag on the sofa: I’m chasing your lover out of my own house. (Pelin winces at this.) Do you have something to say?
Pelin: What are you saying? Don’t be rude.
Seyran makes a fake hurt expression here. She reaches her hand to her eye, as if wiping tears away: Now that really offends me. Isn’t it indecent to be with a married man? And stay in a room with him? But I’m the rude one?
Ferit: Seyran, look, please calm down. We found a house for her and she’ll leave. Don’t get so upset.
Seyran: No, from now on, I won’t calm down, Mr. Ferit. From now on, I hope everything gets more intense.
Ferit: I don’t understand. I told you she’s leaving. Why don’t you calm down?
Pelin: Ferit. You brought me here. Control your wife. No one can threaten me like a savage.
Ferit’s eyes are wide now! Seyran stands like a wild west gunfighter at high noon, ready to shoot: Savage? You still don’t know what a savage is.
We see Seyran’s feet walking straight with Ferit’s trying to catch up: Now, I’ll tell you for the last time. Either you leave this house or I’ll grab you by the arm and throw you out the window myself. You decide.
Ferit looks almost amused now to see what will happen next. He may like his women fighting over him. He grins at Pelin.
Pelin: How are you going to do that? Just try.
Seyran is right in her face as Pelin is calling her bluff. Ferit is watching Seyran to see what will happen now.
Seyran reaches up and wipes away a strand of loose hair from Pelin’s forehead.
Now Ferit is openly laughing.
Seyran: Do you want to see how?
Seyran then grabs Pelin by the hair and drags her to the door.
Ferit: What’s wrong with you? Are you crazy?
Seyran furiously charges back at him: I’m crazy! You drove me crazy!
Ferit raises his hands in self-defense.
Seyran: Now I’m getting this girl out of the house, while you wait here in the room. Wait for me, do you hear? (Raised index finger emphasizing this!) She charges at him: Do you hear me? Do you understand?
He backs up as she charges further at him.

Episode 61 #7 of 10
Ferit: I understand, but please don’t yell, Seyran. Calm down.
Seyran: If you don’t want me to yell, you should listen to me. Understood?
Pelin is still waiting at the door, hoping for Ferit to rescue her.
Seyran rushes to her: Out! Go!
She grabs Pelin by the hand and yanks her into the hall.
Ferit makes a memorable face, wide eyed horror, hand to his mouth! Then he starts to laugh, loving this craziness. He scampers like a little kid after them to see what will happen next.
Seyran drags Pelin down to the first story where Gulgun, Asuman and Ifakat are waiting.
Seyran: Out, Go!
Pelin: Wait, you’re hurting me!
Seyran: Come on!
Ifakat tries to slow her. Someone tells Seyran that Halis will hear her.
Seyran: I don’t care if he does! Enough!
Ifakat tells Ferit he has to stop her.
Ferit: Yeah, like that’s so easy. (He powerlessly gestures after them.)
Suna is waiting at the bottom of the main stairs: Seyran, are you OK?
Seyran: I’ve never been better, Suna. (Seyran has a most satisfied smile on her face.)
Ferit tries to stop her.
Seyran marches Pelin out the front door toward the autos.
Abidin runs to her: Ms. Seyran, what are you doing?
Suna tells Abidin to step aside, not to even try. Suna has a grin on her face as does Ferit behind them.
Seyran: Abidin, get the car ready. Take her wherever she wants. I don’t care where she goes. Do it! Do it!
Abidin runs ahead. We see Sultan near the front gate. The guards are surprised as well.
Pelin shakes off Seyran’s grip: Let me go, I’m leaving.
Seyran pushes her toward the front gate, where Sultan is watching.
Seyran: What did I tell you? Do you want to leave yourself or let me kick you out?
Pelin: I pity you.
Ferit makes an effort to look concerned.
The ladies are behind them. Ifakat: Mr. Halis must have heard you. We’ll have trouble this time.
Gulgun looks like she is enjoying this just a little.
Ferit: Seyran, what are you doing? Tell me. I don’t understand.
Seyran comes up close with a furious look: Didn’t I tell you to wait in the room? She shoves him back.
He tells her she really has lost her mind.
She repeats that she told him to wait in the room!
He keeps trying to get her to calm down. She looks down on the ground for a nice rock or something. She comes up with a stick.
Ferit: What are you going to do with that?
Seyran: Go to your room.
He keeps arguing and the stick gets raised higher and higher. She chases him around. They are at the front gate. Yusuf is getting an eyeful of this! She keeps telling Ferit to go to his room. She again charges at him and raises the stick.
Sultan can’t watch and averts her head. Ferit runs playfully and tries hiding behind Ifakat. He is laughing at this and dodges back and forth behind Ifakat, Gulgun, and Asuman. Finally, he breaks free and runs toward the house, with Seyran running behind holding the stick high.
The camera pans toward Halis’s window. Yes, he is watching and it’s hard to tell what he’s thinking.

Episode 61 #8 of 10

Ferit and Seyran are at the first level as they head to their attic room. She tells him they will talk up there, and Ferit tells her to calm down: Do whatever you want to me, but please stop yelling.
Halis: Seyran! What nonsense is this? The disrespect!
We see Seyran and Ferit with Gulgun, Ifakat, and Asuman behind them, all facing Halis, horrified.

Seyran bravely leaves the group and walks right up to Halis: I’m not the one being disrespectful here, sir. At least allow me to tell you everything that’s happened.
Halis looks at her and then at Ferit and the others. He nods at Seyran. She turns to look at all of them. Gulgun is giving her subtle support. Then Seyran turns back to Halis. She goes into his room and takes a deep breath. He follows her, watching carefully.
The group is left outside, terrified.

Halis: Who do you think you are to make such a fuss in my house? How dare you?
Seyran hesitates briefly, then speaks: I’m your daughter-in-law, and I also hope to be the mother of your grandchildren. My father and Aunt Hattice have left me in your care. And I defend the things I did because it was necessary for me to act like that. I’ve never been in a situation like this, sir, and I couldn’t handle it anymore. I never wanted to disrespect you, but the ones that are outside keep lying to you.
Halis is interested, but then he looks like he might be weakening, and she rushes up and asks if he is feeling OK. He tells her he is fine. He goes to his seat and gestures for her to sit next to him.
Halis: Now tell me. What is it that worries you so much? Tell me, so I don’t betray the trust of your father and aunt. Don’t be scared. Calm down, I’m fine. Now tell me, what’s happening? With the same courage you spoke with moments ago.
Seyran takes a deep breath: Sir, the girl upstairs, is your grandson’s girlfriend. They were together even after we got married. I don’t want to lie. They ended their relationship, but where were they these last two days? Upstairs, in my room.
Halis: What are you saying, girl? Do you hear what you’re saying?
Seyran: Yes, sir, it’s exactly what happened.
Halis: Now tell me. Does anyone else in this house know?
Seyran: Everyone knows. They don’t want me to say one single word. They want me to hide everything I’m saying about Ferit, but I’m not like that. I can’t. My own love and trust have disappeared. Listen, I can’t be a mother or your grandson’s wife like this.
Halis: What are you trying to say, girl?
Seyran: The issue about the newspaper. The girl in the photo. It’s the same girl. They’re hiding that from you, too.
Now Halis is impactado.
She continues: They lied to my father and you.
Halis: Why didn’t you come to say something to me earlier? Why did you wait so long?
Seyran: I wanted to wait because I didn’t want to upset you or hurt anybody. (She is holding back tears now.) I had to be patient. I was waiting for the right moment, but I can’t bear it anymore.
She breaks down into sobs. Halis gives her a tissue.
Seyran: Thank you. I can’t handle it anymore! I really can’t. Please. Please, you have to do something for your family, because I know family is the most important thing for you, Mr. Halis. You have to establish order. If not, you’ll lose it.

Episode 61 # 9 of 10
Halis: And your parents? Your aunt? Do they know? Have you told them about this?
Seyran shakes her head: No, sir. I haven’t said anything. They don’t know. If they do find out, there’s no way back.
Halis: It’s clear your intention is to try and save your marriage. I hope Heaven rewards you. Don’t worry. I’ll do everything necessary to make it so. I just hope you can forgive my family and me for everything we’ve put you through. (Seyran sniffles into her tissue.)
Halis: I ask you to forgive us, daughter.
This makes her cry even harder. Halis watches her and then gets up. He pulls her to him, both arms around her and gives her a long bear hug.
Halis: Calm down. I don’t want you to leave this room in tears, OK? You need to leave this room with your head higher than when you came in. Now I know why you treated that girl in that way. I forgive you. Don’t worry.
Seyran: Thank you.
Halis: When you leave, tell Latif to come in, OK?
Seyran: As you say.

Outside Halis’s room, Ferit is pacing, Asuman is standing, and Latif is guarding the door as usual. Ifakat and Gulgun are in the living room. Ifakat is trying to call Orhan.
Gulgun says If he doesn’t answer, he’s probably in a meeting.
Ifakat says that he has to answer.
Orhan is sitting with Defne at a table in an office or restaurant. He answers: Tell me, Ifakat, you’ve called so much. Has something happened?
Ifakat barks into the phone: Drop whatever you’re doing and come home now!
Orhan: Did something happen to Father?
Ifakat: I told you to come here now!
Orhan: But what is going on?
Ifakat: It’s important, Orhan. Hurry up!
Ferit and Gulgun are pacing now.
Orhan hangs up. Defne asks if something has happened. He tells her it might have. He stands and apologizes for leaving so abruptly. She tells him it’s fine and they will meet later.

Ferit: What are they talking about in there? I’m going to go crazy.
The door opens. Seyran comes out calmly and tells Latif that Mr. Halis wants to speak with only him. Latif nods and goes in.
Ferit is waiting for Seyran to tell him what’s going on. Gulgun asks if she is OK. Ifakat asks what they talked about. Ferit tells her it’s OK and also asks her what they talked about.
Seyran smiles and walks right past Ferit and the others.
Gulgun tells Ferit to go with his wife. Ferit is unsure of himself momentarily and then follows Seyran.
She walks upstairs and into her room.
Ferit: Won’t you tell me? What did you talk about with Grandfather?
She asks: What happened? Are you scared?
She reaches out and takes his arm: Don’t worry. You’ll know it its own time. Relax.
He agrees they will talk later.
She goes over and takes Pelin’s coat, cases and other things and throws them out the door.
Ferit’s eyebrows are up as he watches her warily from the bed where he is sitting.
Then Seyran goes to the intercom and calls Dicle. She tells her there are some things at the door that she can send to their owner. She thanks Dicle.
Ferit now has a grin on his face, but when Seyran comes back toward him, he quickly returns to a passive expression. She puts her hand out and asks for his telephone.

Episode 61 #10 of 10

Ferit: What?
Seyran: I said, give me your phone. Didn’t you hear, or do you want me to yell again?
Ferit: Alright, don’t raise your voice. It’s on the table. I didn’t take it when I left. Sorry.
Seyran: Good, don’t let it happen again.
She blocks Pelin as a contact and then erases it: You won’t see that girl again. You heard me?
Ferit: Pardon?
Seyran: You won’t see that girl again, Ferit. Any objections?
Ferit, in a meek little voice: OK. No objections, wife.
Seyran: Don’t call me “wife!”
Ferit: Alright, I won’t. Calm down.
Seyran: I am calm!
She sits down in the chair. He goes over and sits on the sofa next to her.
Ferit: Now that you’re calmer, can you tell me? What did you talk about with my grandpa?
There is a knock at the door. Seyran: Come in.
It’s Latif, and Ferit asks him what he needs. Latif tells him the master would like to see him now. Ferit tells him he will go soon, and Latif tells him Halis said, “Now!”
Ferit looks at Seyran seriously: Now I understand.
He has finally lost the amused grin he has had all day. Ferit glares at Seyran as he follows Latif out the door.
When they reach Halis’s door, Ferit says: Mr. Latif, please.
Latif: I don’t know what he’s going to say, but a lot will change in this house overnight.
Latif ushes a fearful Ferit into Halis’s room.

Lobo

Lunes – Parte 1 de 2 Lobo meets with a lawyer about getting custody of Renata.

Graciela and Miranda go a few verbal rounds against each other. Miranda is furious about Graciela having listened to the conversation with Ale in which she incriminated herself as part of Gustavo’s assassination.

Cruz and Plácido are conferring in that warehouse or whatever it is. They aren’t there to mourn the loss of their sons. No, it’s all about the cache in San Ysidro. We again see the dynamic of Cruz being careful and El Az ready to fly off the handle and shoot some people.

Fer and Lobo talk about Renata. Lobo wants to get her away because he thinks she’s in danger. But he’s also worried about the effect on her of a custody battle.

Graciela is trying to get Miranda to admit the truth about what went down with Gustavo. But Miranda finds the mic and goes into a titanic rage. Graciela says she only wants to protect Renata. She gets a violent slap for this.

Eugenio, like nearly every Telemundo male, has ants in his pants and wants to leave the hospital before the doctors have cleared him to do so.

Gah! Cruz and El Az talk about Renata. El Az sounds like he wishes he could cut out her eyes, but he has to admit they may not work if she’s dead. Oscar walks up asking if his father is going to tell Cruz. Somehow this just falls flat, and Cruz doesn’t find out that César died because El Az ordered him killed.

Ale is shocked about Miranda hitting her sister. Graciela keeps what happened to her lip from Renata. Then she asks Santi to “take her to the bank”. Miranda is beside herself about Graciela getting away. Once again, Renata complains about her mother just sending her to her room and not explaining things.

Leonor is high on pills and mourning César. Nacho and Sué arrive. In her drugged state she admits causing the abortion of their baby. Nacho still tries to evade this, saying she’s high. A few scenes later he does finally recognize what his mother did.

Graciela tells Lobo and Fer about hearing Miranda admit to Alejandro that she was part of the plan to kill Gustavo. Lobo is shocked. He now says he wants Miranda in jail.

Miranda is yelling at Ale and blaming him for Graciela’s escape.

Cruz and El Az plot something about messing with the electric fence at Miranda’s.

Miranda calls Lobo, and they argue. Both have their phones on speaker, so Ale hears Lobo; and Santi, Fer, and Graciela hear Miranda.

Miranda orders the jefe of the guards to let no one in. She’ll give him a list of some specific people to keep out. Alejandro is finally fed up and says to add him to that list. He tells her that everything she does is because Lobo chose Antonia. Of course, it doesn’t take her long to manipulate him and then bed him as well.

Lunes – Parte 1 de 2 Lobo thinks Ale can be convinced to do the right thing.

After Miranda does the deed with Ale, he says he’s not manipulated. From now on he’ll decide how things are done. He wants her to stop doing things behind his back. He threatens her with his ability to change the clave (password ?) any time it suits him.

Oscar looks ready to blow his brains out. But Sué and Nacho come in. He hides, sees them embracing, and gives us a soliloquy about being crazy about Sué and her not giving him a chance.

Cruz and El Az whisk Ale away from the house, but Lobo and Fer were waiting outside and follow the car.

Antonia convinces the Prosecutor to let her investigate Miranda.

Cruz says Ale has to give them the location of the money. Lobo and Fer are lurking, and Lobo whispers that they need Ale Alive. El Az says that Miranda ordered their sons killed. [He keeps trying to shift the blame for that tragedy off his own shoulders.] Alejandro denies it. El Az, impatient as always, hits Ale with a long rod and brings him to his knees. Lobo and Fer jump in, guns drawn. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see if they get Ale away.

Hugo tells Antonia where the bad guys are, and she wants to send a whole troop of cops to grab them up.

"LOBO"
Novelera: Amazing job with the recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts:
*I've got a bad feeling that something deadly is foreshadowing about Hothead Oscar plotting something sinister against Sue & Ignacio.

*Slippery Cruz will figure out that Jackass Big Ed had Cesar killed & what comes out.....

*Lady Macbeth: The walls closing in very fast. Not shocked about Ignacio FINALLY finding out that Mommy Dearest is the one, who killed Sue's baby.

*Cringed when Clingy Miranda slapped Buji Goldie Locks like that. I knew she was going to figure it out about Graciela wearing a wire.

*Agree with Novelera about Eugenio getting out of the hospital way too early.

*Too bad about the one bodyguard getting killed outside of Miranda's residence.

Lobo

Lobo episode #65 from June 1 has not been uploaded to the NBC or Telemundo apps as of noon central time. (Note some services label last Thursday's episode 5/28 as # 65 for some reason.) Hopefully this is just a late uploading and not a policy change as of June 1.

I will not be home tonight Tuesday or tomorrow night Wednesday to watch Lobo when it is broadcast. So if they are not loaded on NBC the following morning I won't be able to watch them and recap on a timely basis. I think the episodes may be available a day later on Daily Motion. I'm not really interested in purchasing Peacock.

lobo

Not to worry, Anastasia. We seem to be doing fine with a leisurely pace for Poder y Traición. I have Peacock. It's $10.99. I subscribed for something else quite a while ago, and it's been great for watching the Turkish dizi since the middle of the night broadcast (if it's still showing, haven't checked recently) is far ahead of where we are.

You were right, Babachita. This was a loaded episode. And your recap covered it perfectly. Thanks!

I enjoyed watching Halis Ağa in this ep. Dayı deserved that Ottoman slap. Young Serter gets advice from OG Halis. They edited: you see how your people came to my side. If I wanted to, I could destroy your entire family in one night. He also was great with Seyran.

Seyran decided to fight for her man, literally. Seyran refers to Pelin as Ferit’s mistress, “metres”. Pelin called Seyran “varoş” which is the equivalent of “naca” in our TNs.

It’s Ferit’s turn to cry in front of Dede now, and then the rest of the Korhans.

I can recap #62. Not sure when I’ll post. Work is very busy right now and there’s a basketball game tomorrow night.

Lobo
Yay - Monday's episode is now on NBC (by 3:30pm Central).

golden

Thanks, Babachita. You got a humdinger and did a great job recapping it.

Halis was magnificent all the way through.

I wish I could have seen what happened at the meeting that the Korhans thought went so well. Not sure if it was a Telemundo cut or the way the dizi writers wrote it, but Halis backed them down for sure. Babachita, you wrote what I apparently missed, the henchies of Serter respecting Halis.

There's a reason Ferit didn't marry Pelin. We have seen him bulldoze her again and again. She's acquiesced to having a relationship of some sort or another with a married man. I suspect that, deep inside, he doesn't really respect that kind of unconditional love.

Whoa! Ifakat got her claws right out about Orhan speaking with Defne about anything. I wonder if she knows about their past that they keep hinting at?

Yes, Ferit really does enjoy women fighting over him. Instead of forcefully sticking up for his adolescent sweetheart against his wife, he just started enjoying the show.

I enjoyed Seyran's trump card, referring to her father and auntie. "If they find out, there's no way back." She doesn't suspect anything about Halis and Hattice that would cause Halis to want the familial connection. But she's telling Halis that, if he doesn't whip these Korhans into shape, the marriage is over.

Golden

Babachita, excellent recap. You described the scenes perfectly. I watched it a week ago so I relived it through your telling. This show really draws me in and if it wasn't being recapped I would binge watch it and reach the end ASAP. Ferit is such an immature boy I want to smack him. Honestly, if I were Seyran I would have a hard time falling in love with him. I know she is trying to make the best of a bad situation but....

Pelin should leave the city and I will never understand why she remains there. Dragging her out by the hair was a highlight of the episode. I'm.glad Hails took her side.

golden

No edits to the meeting with Serter's people, novelera, other than some dialog being clipped.

There is a reason Ferit didn't marry Pelin. Ferit said he could have married someone from his circle, and certainly, Pelin. It could be a matter of respect. Maybe he feels they are only looking for material things and not a real love. Seyran is not like those girls. He clowns around about getting kisses, but he's desperate for Seyran's love. Too bad he keeps making stupid mistakes.

Halis fears no man, but mention Hattuc and he caves.

"LOBO"
Howdy from the Alamo City, CarayCaray Family & plus #GOSPURSGO baby. Here's my personal thoughts on last night's episode (it'll be super-short).

*Sue kicked Hothead Oscar's ass when the jerk tried to make out with her in the shower. Then after she knocked the Hothead out, Sue grabs her cell phone & called Antonia to let her know what happened.

*Clingy Miranda taunting threats at Lobo & threatening to take Renata far away with the blah-blah-blah.

*We see Slippery Cruz & Jackass Big Ed plotting & scheming again. Where is Fabio? Fabio needs to go down too & hopefully this week.

*Adela speaking with Sue at the police station, while we see Antonia interrogating Hothead Oscar.

*We see Antonia being calm as Lady Macbeth justified killing Guillermina & we see the flashbacks of how Lady Macbeth killed Antonia's grandmother, etc., I am surprised Antonia didn't just strangle Lady Macbeth right there on the spot or kicked her expletive.

*Fernando calmly tells Eugenio that Lady Macbeth was the one, who killed his mother. Later in the episode, we see Antonia, Fernando, Ignacio, Sue, Zahie at the police station headquarters when Lady Macbeth was confronted by Eugenio, etc.,

golden

The meeting with Serter’s people and Halis was fascinating to me. Things were said, of course, but it was the unsaid, subtle actions that made it happen. I was impressed with Halis’s clout. He obviously commands respect in the area.

What I think happened is you have two immature youths who are rivals. They both have powerful families behind them. The elders know that this could escalate (already has, actually) into serious conflict with the young men and more getting hurt.

Hothead Uncle M isn’t thinking clearly. Somehow Halis (Latif might have done it) got this summit scheduled with Uncle V, who has more power than Uncle M. The meeting could have devolved into a battle at several points.

1. When Serter didn’t give the kiss of respect to Halis.
2. When Uncle M stated Halis wasn’t due that gesture.
3. When Halis slapped Uncle M.

What happened next shows clearly how much the wise men from both sides wanted to deescalate and thus protect their hotheaded young men (and everyone else) from tragedy. My favorite scene was Halis making eye contact and almost imperceptibly acknowledging (nodding at) Serter’s wise men, followed by their immediately returning the gesture. It was masterfully executed by Halis. Everyone saved face. There was a collective sigh of relief right after this from all except Uncle M, still dangerously out of control, and Ferit, who seemed to see it as a game.

I’m still recovering from that summary. It was a powerful episode!

Halis has serious power. I notice the Spanish title emphasizes that this dizi is about Poder (power).

Afterthought

Speaking of power, Seyran has some now. She could never have thrown Pelin out with Halis’s backing earlier.

Kazim exercises power deftly, too.

OT

Sad to say but I need digital friends to talk about sports. My circle of friends seems to have an antipathy to sports. Back in the day a few of them refused to have a television in their houses. For a while I enjoyed having a San Francisco Giants fan in my Advanced Spanish class, but we aren't attending any more.

This is for dondi. I came upon this in a column in The Athletic: "Now layer in a New York fanbase whose narcissism is only matched by the novelty of its first finals since '99." I can hardly wait to see Spike's costume tonight.

I think I'm feeling neutral but maybe leaning toward the Knicks because of the long drought. Before I settled in to watch the Western Conference Finals, I wasn't that fond of Wemby. Some part of me seemed to think that his height was an unfair advantage. How could anyone compete with him at the rim? But watching him play more than the occasional game I'd seen against the Warriors, I really appreciated his skill.

I am also a big fan of Mike Brown, also a buckeye. He was with the Warriors for years and was the perfect counterpart to Steve Kerr. The man is a total gentleman.

OT

Novelera, you bring up interesting points.
The Spurs have such a great culture thanks to Pop and all the alumni who stay in touch. Kerr is part of that. In addition to his remarkable physique, Wemby has an elegant style. He has bought in to the Spurs “thing” and it’s a joy to watch, especially if you’re from San Antonio! It’s our only pro team, and it means so much to the whole city.

Babachita and Sr. Babachita

OT

Sports are a religion in NY. Fanbases are devout. I have co-workers that are big Knicks fans. We might not get much work done tomorrow. No one in my immediate circle cares much about the NBA. Yes, I’m rooting for the underdog “Nova Knicks”.

Lol, novelera, I haven’t read everything in The Athletic about the Finals. A columnist wrote that comment? Sorry, the most narcissistic fanbase in NY are the Yankee fans.

Everyone is waiting for Spike. He does not disappoint.

Fans were shocked and upset when they fired Tom Thibodeau but Mike Brown has worked out quite well.

Lobo
Ep #67
June 3, 2026

I ended up staying home tonight and watched part of Lobo.

Renata and Miranda visit Alejandro in the hospital. Ren has a chance to tell Ale that Mir was ready to leave for the border without him.

I missed the next bit, but I gather Ale in his disappointment called Antonia and told her enough for Antonia to go arrest Miranda.

Miranda and Renata leave the de la Colina house ahead of the police arriving. For some reason I didn't catch Renata left the tracker behind.

Cruz and his men driving around find Miranda and Renata in their SUV and capture them. Cruz takes them back to Azufrero's warehouse. Cruz accuses Miranda of killing Cesar and Misael. Azu threatens to kill Renata after plucking out her eyeballs to use as key to the treasure. Episode ends here.

Good news dept.: Graciela volunteers her womb to carry a baby for Santi and Fer. Sué is planning to go to community college to get a new career.

lobo

Thanks, Anastasia. Yes, Ale was very upset Antonia called him a collaborator and cuffed him to the hospital bed. He wanted complete immunity. It was kind of weird that they said they got the information to incriminate Miranda from him off camera.

Renata told her mother that she'd told Ale what she overheard of her mother's conversation with Lobo, about leaving Ale behind. Always wily as a fox, she figured out Ale would turn on her and got out of the house. As always, she thinks she's a good mother, but a good mother would have left Renata behind when she ran. Guess she still thought she'd get the cache by having Renata with her.

El Az is still trying to pin the death of Misael and César on someone, anyone. This time he's saying Miranda killed them.

Yes, that was very good news about Santi and Fer having a surrogate and someone who isn't looking for $100K to do so. She said she never wanted kids, but she's ready to be an auntie.

Hugo tried to get Oscar to testify against his father for much less time in prison. But he's sticking by the criminal code, I guess.

I am ready for this to be over and wish it were tomorrow.

OT

That was one exciting basketball game. The Spurs started off looking invincible. And then Brunson looked like he'd miss the rest of the game, but he came back and played well. When the Knicks caught up, I thought the Spurs should have played more in the paint instead of flinging up so many 3-point shots.

"LOBO"
Novelera: I have strong confidence in the Spurs winning their 6th NBA Championship.

*Still not sure about Buji Goldie Locks keeping up with being a surrogate for Fernando & Santi.

*Fabio needs to go down ASAP. I'm sick of that Slippery piece of SHIT.

*Jackass Big Ed still determined to pin the blame on Clingy Miranda when we, the viewers, know damn well that he had Cesar killed. Slippery Cruz is supposed to be the smart bad guy LOL.

*Ignacio & Sue likely endgame at this point.

*Lady Macbeth still in the jail cell.

*Lobo, Antonia, Fernando & law enforcement officers getting ready to take down Jackass Big Ed & Slippery Cruz including rescuing Renata.

Lobo

Lady Leonor Macbeth now sort of regretting what she did, just like "the real" Lady M. She may well finish up the same way.

I will recap tonight's episode.
