Notes from the Couch
BTW, Vero always calls Joaquín "jefecito" which means "little/dear boss" or "little/dear chief." It is a term of endearment.
"This Doesn't Feel Right. This Isn't Love."
Anyway, here it goes . . . it was a fun one.
VERO
While Vero changes for her date, Facundo asks Consuelo and Yaneli to help him find the right words to win Vero's heart. Yaneli gives him a suggestion and he uses it. He tells Vero that if beauty were a crime, she would be serving a life sentence. Vero knows immediately it was Yaneli who gave him that line. They all laugh. That light-heartedness doesn't last long, though, just over a a couple of bowls of pozole for supper. When they return to Vero's house, Facundo pours out the growing love he has for Vero. He wants to be a part of her life. He would be so happy if some day she could come to love him. He kisses her and she pulls away and tells him: "This does't feel right. This isn't love. Next , we see Facundo enraged on the road driving like an idiot. Facundo swears that Vero will be his in every sense of the word.
JOAQUíN
Joaquín volunteers to go check Kassandra's apartment for rats who might be fugitives from the extermination. When he arrives, it turns out she has plans for a romantic evening. He doesn't complain. As they get hot and heavy, he pulls away and proclaims "This isn't right. This isn't love." He leaves and she starts tearing apart her own apartment. Joaquín will be hers even if if she has to destroy anyone who gets between them. .
EVERYTHING ELSE
-Much to his disappointment, Iván finds out that he was just a friend for Romina.He sees that she and Marcos are completely into each other again. Never one to let grass grow under his feet it seems, he soon is getting friendly with Lorena. She says that Facundo divorced her because of her habit of "sincericidio" (truthicide)(killing by telling the truth???LOL) (Evidently, she cannot help herself.) As for Facundo, the farther away the better. Iván feels the same about his ex. She tells Iván that his immaturity helps make him seem younger than his years and keeps his glass full at the bar.
-Eleazar pays his mother Lorena a visit and gets upset when she asks if he is fulfilling his dreams or his father's in his pursuing racing. She suggests that could do something else if he wanted. He tells her racing is all he has and leaves in a huff.
-Poor Nico at the church is visited by Aurelio who is into his usual blah blah blah about Vero.Nico advises that he could help her by an apology as a start. No way is that happening because of blah blah blah. Nico recognizes there isn't an ounce repentance in Aurelio's heart. Aurelio is quick to turn the tables and asks Nico if he shouldn't be repentant about leaving that woman and going into the seminary. (Uh, what does that have to do with anything?) Nico says he is at peace. He believes he made the best decision and when he thinks of her, he prays to God that He has given her a good man and a happy house. He prays that she doesn't resent him.

-Diego finally breaks up with Claudia and she doesn't take it well and continues to pursue him. That makes it hard for him to get anything going with Majo. She doesn't want to hurt her friend Carmen.
-It turns out that Joaquín and Kassandra fly to Miami to negotiate the repayment of the loan with the bank.. While Joaquín is out of town for the short time that he is, Diego decides to have a party for all of his friends. There doesn't appear to be any alcohol or much going on except for dancing and the usual issues of love and jealousy. I say no more.
-Surprises!! Joaquín has arrived back home with Kassandra. He is surprised about the party. Diego confronts him in his usual bratty way. Kassandra suggests that Vero leave since this is a family matter. Vale reminds Kassandra that she herself is not a member of the family so she would have to go, too. Joaquín doesn't approve Vale's rudeness. Diego is just as nasty as Kassandra tells him that he is a minor and that there are issues of culpability if there were an accident, etc. Joaquín backs her but even surprises her when he makes it clear that his only issue is that nobody notified him about the party. Diego wrongly assumes that Joaquín is going to throw out all of his guests. Joaquín is shocked that Diego would think that he would ever embarrass him like that in front of his friends.. Surprising Diego and even Kassandra, Joaquín tells him to go and enjoy his party. He is only asking that he notify him next time.
-Vero volunteers to take charge of cleaning up after the party so Carmen can go home. Carmen tells her she has to be sure that she brings a pitcher of water to Joaquín's room and then prattles on about how the house would be so much better if Joaquín were to end up with Kassandra. She would be so good for the kids, too. Vero has little to say.
-Joaquín and Kassandra end up in his room where she starts to put the pressure on Joaquín. She was hoping that they could have spent longer in Miami uninterrupted. He wanted to get back home ASAP and admits that he hasn't been at his best. He does acknowledge her patience and how lucky he is to have her support and affection. That his given him strength, She is happy they are giving a relationship a chance but she wants to know when the kids are going to be told. He answers that he will tell them when the time is right. She reminds him that he hasn't kissed her in days. She would like a little more affection. She volunteers to go get some wine. He is left looking like an overwhelmed dog.
-A drink spills on an electrical outlet and shorts out all of the electrical service in the house and outside. Oh! No! What to do??? The kids adapt and Rebe and Eleazar start to make out. Kassandra points them out and Vale gets an eyeful. She starts to cry and Hugo comforts her.
HAPPY! HAPPY! JOY! JOY!
Vero has the pitcher of water and feels the wall to Joaquín's room in the dark. She places it on the night stand. Joaquín comes up behind her, turns her around and starts to kiss her. They kiss for a short while until Vero finally pushes him away and asks him what he is doing. He is shocked and apologetic. He is so embarrassed and hopes she can forget it all. They agree that neither Kassandra or Facundo should know about the kiss.
-Vero takes him to the laundry room where she shows him the circuit board. She flips a switch and the electricity is restored. Joaquín thinks that Vero did that very well. It looks like they are going to kiss . . . again . . .
FIN

Jarifa, your recap was a delight; so informative and so much fun to read. I am immensely enjoying your explaining all that I miss and doing it so insightfully; missing none of the details that give this tale its charm.
The scene where Facundo rather earnestly enlists Consuelo and Yaneli to help him endear himself to Vero was actually quite sweet. To those unfamiliar with his murdering ways, Facundo can be rather charming. But now that Vero has rebuffed him, his anger was clearly palpable. He will not be deterred, and I fear things will go south quickly.
Vero and Joaquin are moving together. Granted, it is at a snail's pace, but at least it IS movement.

While Facundo is at least capable of pretending to be a decent human being, Aurelio is consistently mewling and blaming everyone save himself for his ruined relationship with his daughter. He is intolerable.
The scenes where Joaquin and Vero admitted to Kassandra and Facundo that they are not their true loves was well done. Their admissions were honest yet said without maliciousness or unkindness. No blame, just truth.
The party made me very happy those awkward and angst filled teenage years are way, way, behind me! The Eleazar/Vale/Hugo triangle is tiring. Hugo can't really be that obtuse, can he? I have to give Diego credit for trying to break up with Claudia, even though she is refusing to end things. Majo hiding under his bed made things a little too close for comfort. He needs to man up and tell Claudia he has feelings for Majo as it's bound to come out anyway.
Instead of pining away for Romina, Ivan needs to start doing something meaningful and productive. He's becoming rather sad and pathetic.

I didn't realize that Kass and Joachin went to Miami . I thought they were coming from her apartment and her failed attempt of seducing him, so I didn't understand the suitcases.
Vale pulled Vero out to the party to dance , so it looked like Vero was there before Joachim and Kass. Was Carmen there when the party started, and then Vero came after she rejected Facundo?
Facunda is so talented in putting on that mask he wears , especially while trying to win over Vero. The actor is doing a great job of making me hate him . Watching his reaction to being spurned by Vero beside Kass's reaction being spurned by Joachim was interesting . They both had hissyfits.
Did you notice that C!audia took my advice and wasn't wearing that weird litt!e bun ? I am bored with the teenage angst.

So Andromeda looks just like Sofia . Is she the evil twin , and somehow she is connected to Grecia??? I guess she was the young girl in the hospital looking out the window .
Carlo and that elephant .
Uriel is back trying to be with lovely Marisol, but they are not doing much dancing since he got shot in the foot .
Where are we going ??? Susan

The apparent explanation for NotSophia/Andromeda: Perla had twins and one of them had birth defects, so Aramis ordered it killed. (Definitely no redemption for him, as if there were any doubt.) Instead she gave the baby to the doctor, who performed enough surgery to rehabilitate her. Not clear what happened after that — she was adopted, maybe? — but she said her mother never came to visit her or even asked after her. She’s pretty mad, as you can tell by the multiple homicide thing.
The victims were apparently colleagues of her father’s. The word “mafia” was spoken out loud.
I hope this doesn’t turn into the usual narco/human trafficking bloodbath, but it certainly does pep things up. Sofia and Franco’s interminable seduction scene is putting me right to sleep. When he’s not being shot in the butt, he’s pretty dull.

Thanks Jarifa, I enjoyed your recap. My favorite part was when Joaquin and Vero both said This isn’t love. But it’s upsetting to see how upset Facundo and Kassandra got. I know for Facundo it was “love at first sight” since he told Lorena he had met the woman he was going to marry. But now I think he just wants to hurt Joaquin, I’m sure he realizes there’s an attraction between them. And then Kassandra breaking her own things! I thought she wanted him for his money, and that seems to not be a given at this point. Facundo is charming everyone around him!
Susan, I also didn’t realize they went to Miami. I thought she was just getting more clothes! But if Joaquin didn’t see any rats he should make her move back to her apartment.
I’m glad Ivan is realizing Romina considers him just a friend. He really moved in on her knowing she was married. I hope Romina and Marcos can work out their problems. Which means he needs to stop being a jerk.
Someone needs to tell Claudia that her plans for marriage with Diego are over. She seems a bit pathetic. And Diego is no prize, in my opinion! I think Claudia would make Majo miserable if she knew that’s why Diego broke up with her. But I couldn’t have lasted as long as Diego did with someone like Claudia.

Thankfully no one has listened to him so far! I thought the name Andromeda was mentioned in one of the episodes. But not sure by who. If it was Grecia wouldn’t she be making life miserable for Aramis instead of Gonzalo. Although she seems to want to hurt Sofia, who is completely innocent.

If Grecia is yet another daughter of Aramis , I wonder who her mother is. Aramis really got around . Maybe Andromeda and Grecia were raised together .
I am still trying to match up couples and their offspring . It's hard to unravel .
What are the chances that And comes to town, pretends to be Sofia, and sleeps with Franco ??

Liz , last night, it looked like Romina and Marcos had suddenly made up . I don't exactly understand how that happened .
In novelas , people never seem to understand when someone is not interested in them and move on. They just keep obsessing .
Maybe this show is not going to pair up couples in the end . Wouldn't it be interesting if new characters were brought in and we'd get some new love interests for the teens.!!!

Diana, I wonder if something was cut out . I was also confused because Vale pulled Consuela outside to dance , so Vero must have gone to the house after she rejected Facundo . Then, Joachim and Kass showed up. Was Carmen there when the party started ? There were red Solo cups all over the place, and Consuelo was cleaning them up.
So, Kass tells Joachim that she wants more kissing even though he rejected her reduction at her apartment . (That was quite a luxurious place .) And then , Vero gets the kiss intended for Kass.

This episode was messy. Nothing was cut out from the original but it was poorly edited. This is what I got after watching this section three times to understand what had occurred. Before Joaquín and Kassandra arrived at the party house, there was a "time passing" scene (night to day day to night) When they arrived, Kassandra was moaning about not having been able to stay longer to enjoy themselves. Joaquín was happy he got a great deal with the bank so there was no reason to stay longer. Someone along the way mentions that Vale had given Diego permission (she is18) for the party. When Joaquín confronts Diego, Diego throws it in Joaquín's face that he couldn't ask his permission for the party because he was not around. Joaquín reminds him that he has a cellphone. We do not know how long they were gone but it seemed to have been only a day or two.
I don't get the whole thing with Joaquín agreeing to him and Kassandra giving a relationship a try. I get that she will do anything for the money and the lifestyle but what is in it for him? Either you are attracted to someone or you aren't and now he has opened that dangerous door where he could lose her as his assistant or suffer from her wreaking havoc on the corporation working with Facundo. Why isn't she going back to stay at her house after the trip but is going to retrieve wine ? Evidently, she is trying to seduce him. He needs to wake up!

Jarifa, thank you for telling us nothing was cut but that the editing was to blame. Joaquin seems drawn to Kass physically, but not intellectually. He and Vero connect on so many levels, they are clearly more compatible. I think Joaquin should have kept things professional with Kass but it's a bit late now.

A New Character and More Drama!
Well, it seems that Olga, Ivan's ex and Majp's mother, has come for a visit. (they did a good job making her sound like she was from Spain with her accent and grammar as they have done with Majo but having her appear with a fan in hand??? a little much??) Neither the hung- over Iván or Majo want her staying at the house for what they think is a vacation. She gives the impression she is still with her partner Borja. Iván explains they have only two bedrooms. Majo leaves Iván in charge of getting rid of her. When she sees that the "vacation" idea isn't working, she confesses (part of ) the truth. She lost her job and Borja left her. In tears, she begs Iván to let her say. She reminds him of how she ignored the many years of support payments that he missed and how she never pressured him or asked him for anything. It is his turn to do her a favor. She will take the couch. He reluctantly agrees. She kisses him on the lips and he pushes her away. She was only thanking him . . . More of the truth comes out later when she gets a mysterious phone call. The caller is looking for her. She says she is still in Madrid and is spending a few days outside the city in the mountains with some friends. It soon becomes clear the call is about MONEY. She tells them that she has nothing to do with that. She asks them if they are threatening her. She tells them to talk to Borja about it. She had nothing to do with it. She challenges them to come and find her. After the call is over, she nervously reassures herself that nobody will find her here.
Party night continued
Kass comes back to the room with the wine but Joaquín is MIA. He is in the kitchen congratulating Vero about knowing how to fix the electricity. She asks about his trip. He says it went well and he was able to negotiate the payments with the bank. She "supposes" that he and his "secretary" (as petty as I am, I love how she calls Kassandra his secretary and not his assistant) took advantage of their time to be together. He answers of course. He counters with he was lucky that she wasn't with Facundo or they would have been "blind" until she came to work the next day. She decides to get back to work and is sure that his "secretary" must be waiting for him. After he leaves, she looks depressed and he only can remember that kiss. Back in his room, he asks a very forward Kassandra to back off a bit and is saved from her seduction when he gets a call from Lorena that his brother is drunk at the snack bar. He goes to get him as a frustrated Kassandra complains. She asks if she should go home or stay. He says it is late, so she should stay. He foils her plan when he sleeps on the couch when he gets back.
Vale confides in Vero that she is torn between two boys. Vero says that she can understand that more than she knows thinking of Facundo and Joaquín. Her advice to Vale is to let her heart lead and if she needs to, to give her heart time.
Vale offers Vero an invitation to sleep over at the house since it is so late. It is dangerous to be out so late at night/early in the morning. It would make her feel better. Vero is happy and accepts and sleeps in the servants' quarters.
The day after . . .
Joaquín is the first one up and notices that neither Carmen or "Consuelo" are there. He finds Vero asleep in the servants' quarters. He watches her sleep. He admits that he shouldn't and that it is a mistake BUT he thinks he is in love with her. He smiles.
Joaquín makes breakfast for himself and Kassandra. He got up early to get some work done. There is no school today. Carmen was tired out and arrives late. She asks where Vero is. He says she is asleep in the servants' quarters. Kassandra asks since when does "that" woman sleep at the house. Vale answers since she worked until the wee hours of the morning. She asked her to stay. Joaquín agrees it was a good idea. Kassandra is shocked but puts on a fakey smile.

Vale brings Vero breakfast in bed. She made it with her own little hands. Vero is beyond happy.
That happiness doesn't last long when Kassandra gets Vero alone. She tells Vero that Joaquín said that she was worn out from working last night but it seemed that she was having a good time at the party, too, dancing and all. Vero says she was dancing with Vale. Kass tells her to quit being so ridiculous and to not forget her PLACE in the household. She need to dedicate herself to cleaning toilet bowls and their filthy lids or she will make sure she regrets it. She pushes Vero aside as she leaves.
Claudia goes into Diego's room while he is sleeping and finds an earring next to his bed. She seems to have forgotten that they broke up and goes crazy. Vale hears the arguing and comes in. Claudia is sick of Diego and is going home. He tells Vale that he really doesn't know who the earring belongs to (sure!) Vale tells him to not play with Claudia's feelings. She is her friend. Later, Claudia tells Majo that things are super bad with Diego. She found an earring in his bedroom. He must have been with that little slut last night! Majo picks up a tray and tries to get to work but Claudia wants to ask her for a favor.
Vale tells Dani and Meli that she always thought that her godfather would end up with somebody so different from Kassandra. Somebody way more cool and not bitter and serious like Kassandra. They cannot see her on motorcycle.
Hugo tells Yaneli that he bared his soul to Vale about how he feels about her and kissed her and he got no reaction. Yaneli has an idea. Why don't they pretend they are going out and make Vale jealous? He is willing to give it a try!
She adds when he gets tired of herbed filet, he can always come back to the neighborhood for some carnitas.
After Nico and Aurelio argue about the same old same old, we hear part of Aurelio's story. it turns out that when Aurelio met Consuelo, he also met her sister Beatriz. The two sisters never got along. He liked Consuelo more but Beatriz did what she had to in order to get his attention. Then there were his parents who never cared for Consuelo but were taken with Beatriz. Nico says Aurelio always was the obedient son who always did what their parents wanted. Aurelio reminds Nico that he was as obedient as he was, too. He believes that is why Nico became a priest. He remembers when Nico was in love. Nico ends the conversation.
Alexa tells her father Flores that she is no longer bothering Meli but will not be able to be her friend. She broke her message board which is the only way she can "talk." She says she "almost" didn't do it on purpose but she did. Flores says that isn't good but he has the solution! Tomorrow, she will bring Meli a gift and a sincere apology. If she becomes good friends with Meli, it will be easier for him to be friends with her father Joaquín. He reminds her about that concert, she wants to go to.
Nico talks to Consuelo about how as more time goes by, how much harder the truth is gong to be when Vero finally decides to tell her daughter. Consuelo is worried because Vero hasn't only found her daughter in that house but she has also has found love. It is an impossible love that she keeps hidden. She thinks about Vale going through all of this because of the situation with her daughter.

Kassandra meets with Facundo.She tells him that something happened between Joaquín and Vero. She is almost sure that Vero was in his bed. Facundo stops her. He knows Vero and she is not like that. Kassandra tells him to open his eyes. Ever since they returned from Miami, Joaquín has been distracted and strange. Last night, he didn't sleep in his room and Vero slept in the servants' quarters. He says if that is true, then Joaquín has to pay. She thinks Vero does. Facundo accuses Kassandra of not being a very good game player. He has Vero right where he wants her. It is Kassandra's job to get control of Joaquín.
Lorena gets her hair and makeup touched up at the beauty salon before running Aurelio's errand. .
Romina finds out that Iván's ex is in town. She looks disappointed.

She hangs up but it seems that Joaquín has overheard part of the conversation. He asks Romina if her sister is a journalist. She says yes she is. Her name is Verónica Arellanos. That causes him to tilt his head and think. . .

Although Vero (wisely) told Facundo she isn't in love with him she is still wildly misguided as to who she thinks he is. I suspect he will go after Joaquin rather than Vero directly. At least initially. I wonder how long he will keep his mask in place before his evil and maliciousness are evident.

New character to stir the pot a bit...Olga . She is going to complicate Ivan's life...ha, ha. Question : Are Ivan and Majo still living in Joachin's house ? It doesnt look Olga is going to leave anytime soon .

Wow, that was quite an episode .
Andromeda is a force of nature . She is bound to show up at Sofie's . Perhaps She will try to impersonate Sofie. The scars on her leg did not stop her from wearing very high heels and dancing in the streets of Argentino.
Lots of Slapping....Carlo slaps Chava. Chava Slaps Carlo and knocks him down. Aramis slaps Chava. Chava can't slap him back since Aramis is an old guy .
Julian is wandering everywhere all the time and was in the right place to eavesdrop on Cat's phone call. Does Julian realize that Rex is his daughter?
Poor Daniel (Franco). Not only does he have to dance in his skivvies, he has to dance with Grecia in front of Sofia of sputtering Gonzo.
Uriel gives Franco his modeling wardrobe ...uh oh. He could put it in his pocket.
So...Grecia faints in Franco's arms . Sofia and Franco are concerned ...Gonzo, not so much. Can't wait to see what the writers throw at us in the next episode. Susan

Thanks Jarifa, great recap. It looks like Olga will be bringing a new set of problems to the drama.
Kassandra and Facundo together are going to be a team our innocents will be overcome by. Joaquin and Vero will be clueless as the forces of the bad guys gang up to keep them apart. I just hope Vero doesn’t take Facundo by default. He’s more subtle than Kassandra but just as dangerous.
Alexa and Flores are a great example of why kids bully. Forcing her to befriend Meli is just cruel, and Meli will be the one to get hurt. I hope Dani will be on the lookout for her sister and protect her. In spite of her theory about her parents she seems pretty smart in people reading. She knows who’s best for her dad, and them! I hope Meli has nothing to tell. I’m can’t figure out why Flores thinks there’s dirt to uncover, even though we know there is!
I really can’t see Romina and Marcus making it as a couple. What are horrible way to live. Lovebirds one minute and then arguing the next.
It’s interesting that Aurelio married the girl his parents preferred over the girl he loved. I wonder if Nicholas dropped his girlfriend and became a priest for that reason. But now we know why Aurelio treats Vero the way he does.
Claudia was a bit over the top, going into a sleeping Diego’s room. She doesn’t seem to realize he broke up with her. And wakes him accusing him of cheating on her.

Steve, I’m watching this. It’s actually my favorite of the three. I usually don’t watch three at once and don’t like watching at 10:00 at night, But I really look forward to this one. There’s only two really bad guys and their days are numbered. I’m interested in seeing what happens when the real truth about mom and aunt are revealed.

Diana, I so agreed with "So Aurelio really did prefer Consuelo. I really hope the writers aren't even considering trying to redeem him. I believe in miracles but not this one. :)" They have made the character so obnoxious there is no way to redeem him. I did enjoy hearing about his background, though.

I fear we may have a stupid galán and a stupid leading lady on our hands.Joaquín never puts a total stop on Kass. To be honest I don't get Vero or Joaquín "dating" people they feel no real possibility of love for. They cannot be that hard up for company. Are they planning on getting married to Facundo and Kass with the hope that maybe 25 years from now they will come to love their partners? Not fair to anyone. Off my soap box.

We went to ohio late Wednesday night to visit family so I haven't watched any episodes. We are home now but a large branch knocked the electric and cable lines from the bump pole so no Internet for me. I could watch on my little phone screen, but that's not very fun so I'll wait to catch up after the cable is reattached tomorrow evening. Fortunately duke power fixed the line by morning. Thank goodness for neighbors that look out for one another, we could have returned to a stifling house and no power, but reporting the outage to the electric company was easy. I can't say the same for spectrum. I eventually had to ask to speak to a live person to get a work order to get the line fixed. Their AI helper just kept telling me to reboot the modem and none of the options on their help page listed line problems as a choice. So tomorrow evening we should be back in business. Hope everyone had an enjoyable 4th!
