"CORAZON"
I take it nobody a fan of this Telenovela? 🤔

SABOR

Best of last night for me: Juan waving the knife around freaking Amparo out and the joke Segundo made about him. Segundo said Juan was no Don Juan Tenorio (the legendary Don Juan from Spanish literature) but was a Don Juan Velorio. “Velorio” means “wake” as in the case of a funeral. There is more humor in this novela than in most and I am enjoying it!

Second best: Chata serving her tripe stew to the house guests and Diana being on to her tactics.

Blue Lass, I appreciated your explanation of “Nessum Dorma” last week. It added to that scene.

SABOR

Not sure who wrote the above comment but yes, Juan and his flashing knife and flailing antics was very funny! Thank you for translating what was said.

I also hadn't realized what Chata served. Tripe stew, oh my.

My favorite scene was Max getting jiggy with it with Pablo and Miguel. While Max doesn't quite have the physique from Juan Querendon days, I smiled at the shower scene nevertheless.

I'm glad Filomena made it clear to Angela she wasn't happy with her when she showed up at the hospital. I'm not happy with her either. She really didn't seem to feel guilty or guilty enough. Mariano did seem remorseful but it's clear he is smitten with Angela. Things are going south quickly.

Can anyone kindly tell me what is wrong with Lucero?

Got a phone call last night and missed most of this episode , so I would appreciate any he!p. I did see Max get bashed, and I saw the fireside marshmallow roast with the beanie boys . Is Max living outside now ? I found it funny that The beanie boys wear their beanies indoors, but they were beanieless outside at the campfire . Susan , dazed and confused

SABOR

That first comment was from me Jarifa. Google has been signing me out lately and I know not why.

SABOR

Jarifa, thank you for your comments which were very helpful.

Susan, not sure if Max is living outside? You may be right!

Diana

Sabor

I enjoyed Max and the boys enjoying the great outdoors! I bet Eduardo Santamarina is having a lot of fun with this! And then Juan with that big knife! I’ll be surprised if Amparo actually goes through with the wedding.

I didn’t know what Chata was serving but that’s one way to get rid of unexpected guests. I’m not sure why she had to give up the master bedroom for people that Tomas wants there!

After hiking and swimming a dirty river, and then more hiking Mariano and Angela were able to hitch a ride and get home. So I’m guessing they could have gone there in a vehicle too!

Tierra de Amor

I don’t know if anyone else is watching this, I was not enthused about it but it’s getting better. Poor Clara, it looks like the whole family are murderers, and the workers too. But Clara sees only the good in them. Hopefully the reporter ex-girlfriend will root out the evil. The brothers are clueless, except for Juan, who was killed but the body disappeared. Hope he shows up before the brothers sell their ranch.

OT
Jarifa , recently , I have been having a lot of problems with Google ...I wonder what is up ??? Susan

Tierra De Amor
Luz, yikes , I gave up on this one . Juan can't be dead ...isn't be the supposed galan ??? Susan

SABOR

I believe Max and company are camping out in the vineyard. (I liked when Max said, "It's been a long time since I've showered outdoors!" and his son said, "It's been a long time since I've showered.")

Lucero has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (as if she doesn't have enough problems.) I have to say that actress does unconscious a well as she does blind. I was really impressed.

Oh, and all three of Juan's wives died of "respiratory failure." At this point I'd be wondering about mold or radon or, I dunno, mushrooms?

That Bernabe is a total creeper. Are we supposed to find that charming? Macking on women while they're asleep? I hope those two don't end up together.

Someone needs to tell Chata that you're supposed to match your lipstick to your complexion, not your outfit. And orange doesn't work on ANYBODY.

SABOR

Here's some more "hold my's" for Susan's list...

"Hold my giant cheese" (Juan)

"Hold my sad little can of tuna" (Angela and Mariano)

Tierra de Amor

Susan, some guys were tailing Juan on the highway. The ex-girlfriend, who still loves him, was with him. He had her get down on the floor of the truck. When he got out they shot him. She left to get the police and when they returned there was no body, only blood. And Facundo hired and paid the guys. The police think an animal got the body. I’m pretty sure someone took him in and has been nursing him. But the brothers are ready to sell the ranch and think Clara’s father will keep all their workers. He plans to make it a gold mine. And his wife tried to double cross him. I’ve enjoyed the episodes without Juan, but he’ll probably be back to save the ranch!

SABOR

Blue Lass, thank you for all the info. If this is following "real life" I read that people with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy can live normal lives with proper treatment although it can be fatal in a small number of cases. Let's hope Lucero falls into the former category.

"Hold my giant cheese" (Juan)" :)

Diana

Tierra De Amor
Liz, thanks so much . ahh..the missing missing galan taken in by a kind soul . We've seen that one before . Will Juan have amnesia ? Susan

SABOR

At least Lucero isn’t pregnant.

Sabor
Ha...finally watched this episode. I loved Max rapping and dancing with the beanie boys about his house and his bed . The actor must be enjoying this Over the top role as he chews on all the scenery indoors and outside . The shower scene was also funny . Susan

O/T

A promo for "Infinito Amor" indicated this is coming soon...

It stars Livia Brito and Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco and a great cast including Josh Gutiérrez, Marcelo Cordoba, Guillermo Cantu and (for Darcy), Christian de la Campa.

Perhaps it will replace Corazon de oro? I was hoping for Jose Ron and Africa Zavala but...

Diana

OT
Diana, José Ron and África Zavala are coming mid January to Univision. I cannot wait.

SABOR

Funny how Javier and Diana ended up eating the salad with grasshoppers. Hey, they are a great source of protein.

Two tip offs:
1. Lucero heard that Mariano spent the night at Iguana Island and at first didn’t look necessarily pleased.
2. Juan’s worker tries to give him a heads up about Bernabé and Amparo he will not take it.

They have been warned or as Juan’s worker told him: There is none so blind who WILL not see.

SABOR

Jarifa, grasshoppers?! Nopis, never for me. Thank you for explaining...my heavens, one unpalatable meal after another! 😊

Mariano is going to break Lucero's heart. I do believe he cares deeply about her and think they would have been happy had Angela not showed up. But then we wouldn't really have a story, would we?

Thank you for letting me know when José and África's TN is coming. I'm really looking forward to it.

Diana

OT
Diana and Jarifa Those new shows look interesting . Susan

OT

Diana, “Corazón de Marruecos” was supposed to be in Dec. but got pushed back. Only Univision . . . Knows why! LOL

SABOR

I grew up on tripe so I would have enjoyed that. The grasshoppers? Mexico has a rich heritage in insect cuisine going back to pre Columbian civilizations and continuing to the present day.

Tierra de Amor

Susan, our Galan, Juan returned just as Jero was about to sign an agreement selling the ranch. He had a big bandage on his head. A couple found him and took him to a clinic. So four men shot him in the head and it didn’t kill him! Although maybe only one shot him, I can’t remember, it seemed like I heard a lot of shots.

OT
Ive never had tripe...I wouldn't eat it. I am a picky eater . However , in my area , people used to make stuffed pig's stomach .They fill it and roast it in the oven. I have never eaten the stomach , but the filling is delicious ...pork, potatoes, onions. My mother in law used to make it. Susan

Tierra De amor
Liz , I appreciate the update . I've been busy lately , and I just gave up recording the show because i dont have time to watch .
Juan returns ...bullet proof galan. Ha. Now what ? Susan

Tierra de Amor

Susan, Clara has declared her love for Juan, and he for her. Her father asks her to break up with him. Oh, and her father beat Facundo up because the goons he hired didn’t do the job right. So now Facundo’s is not going to do his bosses bidding. Meanwhile Clara’s step mom threw a rattlesnake in the geologist’s face, it was in a bag. But most everybody on their ranch knows she murdered him because how does a rattler get you in the face! I grew up with westerns as our primary tv entertainment which is the only reason I’ve stuck with the show.

SABOR

When alone with Lucero, Mariano's face was alight with love, discussing their future life together, including children. It was disconcerting to see his expression later fade when he looked at Angela...

Mariano gave Tomas "hard eyes" upon learning he and Angela were novios. Bless sweet, clueless Lucero for insisting Mariano congratulate the couple. Their more than awkward hug was cringeworthy. No love lost there! Filomena also seemed heartened that Angela is now "spoken for" assuming she won't have to worry about Mariano leaving Lucero for Angela. Sigh.

Ramón is one of the main reasons I'm watching this. It appears he has had it with Virginia, and I can't blame him.

Chata seemed to be warding Javier and his family away. I think she mentioned rats being part of the house they were looking at.

I could watch Max all night...

Diana

Sabor
Hi, Diana. Lucero is such a sweet soul. She deserves better than Mariano . I think he loves her like a little sister , but he is attracted to Angela (why?):
This is an interesting role for Erika B. , who can play villains and good girls with equal ease . Susan

Sabor

Hmmm.....why is Chata, trying to Drive away Javier and his family ??? Is she afraid that they will find out some deep, dark secret ? Susan

SABOR

Diana, yes it was rats and . .. spiders So funny. Chata was successful! Vicente told her and the family that the priest was coming over so they could solve their problems as a family (uh, like her giving into Max? Don't think so ) and she makes it clear if Max comes into the house, she will leave.

So, Margarita is planning on selling the house and cares not where anyone lands or doesn’t. One more thing for Mariano to go scowling around about.

Sabor
I haven't seen the actress playing Margarita in years . In whatever novela that was, she played a cranky wife . ha.
Lots for Comings and goings in this show .
Mad seems content no matter where he lands . Susan

Sabor

I don't see why Javier's family has to stay there for a few months job, they should be able to remain at their home. Also why Chara had to give up her bed to employees totally boggles the mind, leave mom and daughter at home and voila, there is a free room for Javier.

I'm learning some new English and Spanish vocabulary with this show. (Enologist), most of it related to wine making.

I'm still confused about the entire wine business. Why was Tomas so upset when Fernando's wine got higher. Accolades in the magazine. Aren't they all the same business? Is their also Rosa's vineyard that Angela is running? I'm so confused. Way too many young characters. The curly hairedcook maid of Chata's gets in trouble for going out without permission (if it's your job to make dinner I see why) but I guess the other maid says that they are engaged. I haven't learned the names in the hopes they aren't really part of the storyline, but I guess I'll need to start learning them.

SABOR

Wasn't spiders, it was bats!,

Sabor

Kat, yes, I , too, am confused about the vineyards. How many are there, and who are the owners ? Does lackluster Tomas run Vincente's vineyard ? i guess Chata is part of that vineyard . I guess Juan has a vineyard . Who manages his vineyard? Where does cranky margarita for into this ? Susan

SABOR

Susan, Chata is rather joyless; not a bad person whom I suspect became a bit more grim after being married to Max for so long. He can be charming, personable but it must be extremely trying to be married to him. Erika is such a good actress, including being a bit of a snob when the script calls for it.

Bats! Spiders I can handle Jarifa, but bats? Nopis. :)

Kat, I haven't mastered the names of the housemaids either, not sure who is who. From Jarifa's comment, I gather mean Margarita now owns the house and is planning on selling it. Therefore, there will be a lot of folks out on the street having nowhere to go.

Diana

Sabor

Diana, uh oh...more folks around the campfire ? Susan

SABOR

There are two vineyards: El Embrujo and Sarmiento. El Embrujo ("The Bewitching") is owned by Vicente, and Mariano and Moncho work there. Sarmiento is owned by Max but run by Tomas, and Juan's entire family work there (except Virginia.)

Tomas hired Javier without telling his parents, and part of the reason Chata is so cheesed off is that SHE used to be in charge of PR. Also Javier suggested they have a wine-label-design contest, but designing wine labels is Antonia's job. Someone should really have filled the poor guy in.

The curly-haired maid is Conchita; the other one is Violeta. Conchita has been dating Fidel, the houseman at Juan's place, but he is stringing her along with promises of marriage just to get her in the back of the wine truck. He confessed this to Segundo's son Amador, which was a mistake because Amador is sweet on her, too. Hopefully he will prevent the hot date somehow. (I haven't watched last night's epi yet.)

Violeta is hot for Moncho, which is why Virginia lied and said he was gay. He hasn't forgiven her yet -- but he's crazy about her, so he probably will.

Pilar Ixquic played a bad Mom in Imperio de Mentiras, I think. She does it well.

SABOR

Oh, and the doctor put Lucero on beta blockers (for those of you who love medical trivia, as I do.) No giant block of cheese for her!

Sabor

Margarita is something else. Was there a will read, I don’t remember. It it seems like Rosa would have taken care of Lucero, and Filomena too. If she’s selling the house do the vineyards go in the sale? Anyway, Margarita just grabbed Angela away and didn’t even care that Angela had Lucero on her arm. Angela needs to tell her mom she wants the house and land. Her mother was talking about how Angela could buy a house with land with the sale.

Chata really doesn’t want Javier and family there. Was it Tomas that had them give up their bedroom? I think so. I once read you should never give up your bedroom for guests. My husband and I used to, then my sister-in-law put a hot coffee cup on my nightstand and I never gave it up after that. She should have made the house with the bats a little more livable for them. Although I don’t think she wants them there at all.

Finally some dna testing will be done. Max is fun and seems to go along with whatever is happening. Unlike wifey!

Sabor
Thanks to everyone for clearing things up a bit.
I am ignoring some of the minor characters because there are just too many . I am.having enough trouble sorting out the major characters .
Let's see how things unfold .tonight . Susan
