Thursday Oct 29th

Part I
Leftovers: Meryem reads Feyyaz’s letter in prison. We see him riding her way in a car.

Hot off the griddle: It’s after the gender reveal party. Alya with Cihan who is carrying sleeping Deniz arrive at her apartment. He puts Deniz in bed. They go to the living room to talk. He comments about how nice the evening was. She comments that Sadakat behaved with Fidan. Then Cihan launches into what he wanted to say: He has to be at Meryem’s hearing, then he has to take her to the airport and give her her ticket and the keys to her place in Istanbul. (Big props to Cihan! He’s really doing the no-secrets thing. Good boy!) Alya asks if he thought she’d make a scene. She’s cool with it. Not worried, she says.

Leaving, Cihan apologizes about not removing his shoes – he didn’t want to wake Deniz. They say goodbye a bit stiffly. When he leaves she sets all three (!) locks. She behind the door and he in the hallway both hesitate. They look uncomfortable.

Meyrem’s hearing day. She’s in a holding cell. She looks at Feyyaz’s note again. Her hands are shaking. Cihan joins her in her cell and tells her she’ll get out no problem and that he has her plane ticket. He leaves and she looks at the letter again.

At the hospital Alya runs into Nare who thanks her for the great evening, then tells her you know Meryem gets out today. Alya says she has a surgery, and don’t think about it.

The hearing! All dialog is muted but we see Erol speak, the judge say something and Meryem make some sort of declaration. Outside in the courtyard parking in front of the building, Cihan is leaning against the car waiting for her. There are people milling about. Our guys are with him. Here she comes! She greets Cihan with a smile. Uh oh there just outside the courtyard gates we see Fiyyaz’s car. We know he’s in there because his beads are hanging ominously from his car window.

Meryem catches sight of a man doing a crouched run towards her. He stabs at her, and Cihan rushes to subdue him. Apparently he only succeeded in stabbing her arm. Cihan rushes her towards the car. Meryem spots Fiyyaz in his car, glaring. She freezes. Cihan follows her gaze. Fiyyaz just stares evilly and the car creeps slowly out of sight.

Cihan: Is that Fiyyaz? Get in the car! Rapido!

At the hospital, Yalchin comes out of Meryem’s room and reports luckily no damage. They’re going to hold her for observation to make sure there’s no infection. Alya, coming down the hall, spots Cihan. He goes in to visit with Meryem. He asks if she knew Fiyyaz was here. She shows him the letter. Oops – we see Alya is lurking outside the door. He reads the letter aloud. Why didn’t you tell me about this? She says she didn’t want to wreck his life. Cihan is mad. Meryem points out she was going to have a secret life. Cihan: Did you really think he would let you leave? I checked him out. He’s mixed up in all kinds of bad things. That guy would follow you. He won’t leave you alone. You’re staying here until he’s no longer a threat. You’re my responsibility.

Alya looks impactada. They both notice her there. She looks sad. She comes in and is nice and solicitous. Cihan explains about the stabbing. Meryem: He wanted to stab me in the heart. Alya asks if she has pain and she says very little. Cihan tells Alya what Yalcin said and Alya approves. The police come to take statements. Meryem warmly thanks Alya for coming.

Part II
Cihan has followed Alya into her office. Alya: Of course you can’t let her go. Cihan says he feels bad he made a decision without her. (More props!) Alya: You acted from the heart. Cihan, not the heart, from my conscience. He leaves, but again, it’s a bit stilted. She seemed pretty chill with the Meryem thing yesterday but today apparently not.

Sadakat is visiting Meryem; Kaya and Sahin are there too. Cihan tells Nare to up security. We expect Sadakat to stir the pot, but no, not yet. She and Kaya and Sahin all leave, and Meryem tells Cihan it’ll be hard to find Fiyyaz. Cihan tells her to let him know if he tries to contact her.

Alya walks to a stone railing on an upstairs outdoor patio at the hospital. She has a to-go coffee and sets it on the railing. She remembers Cihan saying to Meryem that she’s his responsibility. She knocks her coffee off the edge by mistake. Cihan watches from behind a pillar. She looks below and is glad the coffee didn’t hit anybody. Shortly thereafter a server brings her a new one. Who ordered that? A man, he says. She’s puzzled.

Fiyyaz is in his dungeon, looking at Meryem’s photo. We must admit as dungeons go, his is very clean and neat though the décor is spartan. Where did they take her? he asks. Henchie: to Yonka. She’s okay. What do we do? Fiyyaz lunges at him and grabs him by the throat. People who work for me don’t ask questions! He paces. Deep breaths!

Sahin and Kaya are having coffee in a little patio by the office. Kaya asks why Zerrin had to go to Urfa. Sahin says he doesn’t get it. He goes back to the office and Kaya calls Zerrin in Urfa. Everything was going great, he says, and then you take off for Urfa. She says her tio was very insistent. He reminds her that her divorce hearing is tomorrow. She knows. He tells her he loves her and she says I love you too.

Sadakat is being driven out across the countryside. We see an aerial of her car driving along the road. The countryside is brown, the fields are just freshly plowed dirt. We see a shot of her sitting in the car and miraculously the fields in the background are all green. She gets a call from Boran telling her to meet him. She tells her driver to pull over, tells him to get out. She takes the wheel and drives off into the green landscape, leaving him standing by the roadside wondering what just happened and how he’s going to get home. He gestures helplessly.

Boran is waiting for her by some cliff. These people need to stay away from cliffs. He opens his arms in welcome. She’s not buying it. What’s up? What do you want?

Boran: remember I saved you from jail. (Isn’t his lying why she was in jail?) Sadakat: And how many times have I saved you? I saved you from going to jail, from losing custody of your child, from having Cihan be with Alya. You do one thing for me and you expect me to do more and more. You’ve become accustomed to it. You’ve always been that way, but it’s just becoming apparent to me now.

So why did you call me? Boran: I want Meryem to stay in the mansion. Sadakat: You’re the reason she got stabbed? You told her ex-husband! Boran: Do as I ask. If you don’t, I’ll shame you. I’ll go to the town square and tell everybody all about your illicit affair with Ecmel.

He smiles smugly. Sadakat is stunned.

Maggie
(Wish me happy birthday!)

OT
Congratulations on the birthday, Maggie 😎👍🇺🇸🇵🇷🇵🇭🇧🇷🇰🇷🇸🇪

OT

Happy Birthday, Maggie!!! This would make you a Scorpio, right? My whole family were water signs. I'm Cancer, as is my brother, my sister and father Scorpios, and my mother Pisces. I had a pretty peaceful home life growing up as my parents adored each other. No idea if astrology paid a part.

OT

Thank you Steve and Novelera! Yes, I’m a scorpio. And even better is having a birthday the day before halloween. When i was a kid all my parties were halloween themed and we kids got to wear our costumes one day early. And we had pumpkin pie instead of cake! Yum!

Maggie

OT

Happy Birthday Maggie! Pumpkin pie is way better than cake, unless it's an ice cream cake.

My 65th birthday is in 3 1/2 months so I am trying to figure out Medicare enrollment! I'm going to have to go to the social security office. I hit a road block in trying to set up an account. I never worked enough to qualify on my own (SAHM and now a stay at home grandma) so I need to file under my husband who is almost a year younger than me. I'm dragging him along with me to the office so we get this figured out!

OT

Kat, I just saw a report on PBS, if I remember correctly, that advises people it's better to be on regular Medicare with a supplement. That is the arrangement I have, and I've been quite satisfied with it. This is what AI says about that:

Regular (Original) Medicare is often considered better because it allows nationwide access to nearly any doctor who accepts Medicare, has fewer referral and prior‑authorization rules, and offers predictable costs when paired with Medigap, unlike Medicare Advantage plans that restrict you to networks and may require referrals.

lejos

Alya is being ridiculous. Cihan carries Deniz to his bedroom. There's no one else around. But she's still being distant like Boran might be peeking through a window. She wouldn't lose custody forever if she gave Cihan a goodnight kiss.

Maggie, "spartan decor" for the dungeon. Loved it. It surprises me that Feyvaz manages to retain any henchies the way he treats them.

Amen on this cast needing to stay away from cliffs.

Sada: You've always been that way. I think the Sada actor did a terrific job of looking aghast at what she gave birth to. What do we think...even a 10% chance Sadakat would tell her evil spawn to go fly a kite?

OT

Novelera, that's the route I plan to take. My husband is retired AF so our supplemental is Tricare so we are good on that front. My friend, a PA, also recommended that as the way to go.

"SENOR10"
*Aurelio, Vitaminas, Chattarero, Consuelo & Co., arrive in Colombia where they meet with Cabo: pretty obvious there's unfinished business between Aurelio vs Cabo.

*Castillo gets berated & scolded by Rutila, who finds out about the DEA & PDNA arresting Skinny & Co.,

*Nothing exciting at Armendariz HQ: except for the phone conversation between Hothead Diana, Gullible David, Reynaldo & Amanda.

*Cifuentes & his presidential campaign: What could possibly go wrong?

*Hothead Diana, Isturiz & Cowboy Dude flying back to Mexico after shooting Montero in DC.

Happy belated birthday, Maggie! I hope you had a wonderful day.

I finally caught up. My thanks to everyone for the recaps. They were a delightful read even if the episodes were not so delightful to watch. I scanned through the Turkish eps and there were some small edits. The most interesting one was Demir alone with Baby Simal.

Here is the YouTube clip (first 2 mins or so) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L41XMrMehVc
There are auto translated CCs available.

Regarding the abundance of food on the dinner tables, not all of it is edible. They use some prop stuff. I expect that whatever is edible is eaten by cast and crew. It all looks good though.

S2 #75 part 1

Rewind: Sadakat meets Boran and he threatens to out her dirty secret in the town square if she doesn’t find a way to bring Meryem to the konak. [I admit I’d like to see that happen.]

Boran smugly walks away. Sadakat is stunned for a few seconds and then lets out a scream that echoes across the mountains.

Alya walks past Meryem’s room on her way out of the hospital and casts a sort of nasty look in her direction. I don’t think Meryem saw her, but Meryem looks very uneasy.

Nare catches Alya before she leaves. Alya tells her she’s going to check out a daycare for Deniz. Nare seems to have misgivings about this. Alya says she’s just trying to find her own path. Nare says, your path and my brother’s will never separate. They always lead back to each other. This Meryem issue will take time, but I know my brother will fix it. Alya agrees and that’s what she wants. She knows that Meryem hasn’t had it easy. I hope things get resolved, she says, and she can find peace. Alya leaves. Nare calls Cihan and tells him he needs to take care of the Meryem issue asap.

Alya arrives at the “nursery and daycare center”. [kreş ve gündüz bakım evi. These places are run by the Ministry of Family and Social Services and serve kids newborn to 6 years.] She visits a room with the program director. Alya likes what she sees. It’s a nice setting and the children are engaged and happy. The director looks very nervous. Alya compliments the director on the warm environment at the center. They go talk in the office. Alya explains Deniz’s situation. She likes the center and would like to enroll Deniz there.
The director looks uneasy. She’s pleased that Alya is pleased, but she tells Alya they can’t accept Deniz. They don’t have room. Alya is surprised. Her contact told her that 3 kids just left, so spots opened. The director says the spots are already filled. It doesn’t take long for Alya to realize what’s happened. She asks, you received a phone call, didn’t you? The director looks guilty. Alya leaves.

Alya calls Cihan. He answers with “I can’t talk now” and hangs up on her. She’s angry and calls back. He picks up. She lights into him. Why did you call the daycare I was going to send Deniz to? What’s wrong with you? It’s not right for him, Cihan replies. It’s perfectly suitable, Alya answers, you’re doing this so he won’t get used to it. He tells her he can’t talk right now and they can talk later. She won’t let go. Tell me where you are so we can talk in person. He says he’s got work to do and hangs up.

Alya feels humiliated by Cihan’s actions. She calls Ummu and asks if Cihan is at the konak. Ummu says no, and Muzaffer, Kadir, and Kaya aren’t there either. Alya asks if they are at the office. Ummu doesn’t know and she volunteers to call Muzaffer. Alya says it’s not necessary, don’t worry.

Alya shows up at the company and sees Kaya and Sahin. They tell her Cihan isn’t there. She doesn’t believe them and she walks into Cihan’s office. Kaya and Sahin follow her in. Kaya asks, what’s wrong? She doesn’t say and insists that Kaya calls Cihan now. Kaya calls but Cihan doesn’t answer. Alya leaves angry. Kaya and Sahin have no idea what’s going on.

Sadakat is out on the terrace thinking about Boran’s threat.

S2 #75 part 2

Alya returns home and finds Cihan and Deniz painting the boy’s bedroom. She complains. Deniz reminds her that they planned to redecorate. Cihan says they got rid of the old furniture. Yes, Alya says, but not this. The paint smells awful. Did you ask me? No, Cihan replies, should I have asked? This isn’t your room. Don’t say that in front of him, Alya responds. Cihan says, it’s his room so I asked him. I bought a catalog and he picked out everything. Alya is exasperated. Cihan snarks, we can paint your room too if you’re jealous.

Cihan continues to snark and Alya continues to be annoyed. She wants Deniz to stop painting. Deniz thinks it’s okay because he’s wearing a mask. He pulls it down. Alya tells him to put it back on. Cihan warns him to listen to his mom. Cihan notes the boy is wearing a mask and goggles. All precautions have been taken. Alya wants to send Deniz out of the room with Pakize so the adults can talk. Cihan refuses to talk. I gave my opinion, he says, and it’s not changing.

The battle of wills continues. Alya can’t stand the smell, puts on a mask and, what do you know, there’s an extra pair of overalls that she can wear. She starts to criticize the paint job and says she could do better. She says she’s taking over. She painted walls in Canada. Cutesy stuff ensues. Alya gets paint on Cihan’s face.

Sahin calls Nare, who is on her way out of the hospital. He tells her he’s going to Nusaybin and he’ll be home late. End call. Suddenly, Nare’s not feeling well. Yalcin to the rescue. What’s wrong? Are you okay? She says she’s okay, she just felt a bit weird for a moment. He offers to check her BP but she says she’s okay. He tells her to be careful driving.

Alya finishes painting the room while the guys watch. I did it much better than you, she states, and I finished in two minutes. Cihan smiles and nods, yeah, right, two minutes. Come paint the konak tomorrow. Ha, ha, ha. Deniz wants the door painted too. Sorry, enough of this painting stuff FF>>.

Pakize takes Deniz out for some fresh air. Now let’s talk, Alya says. Cihan moves uncomfortably close to Alya. She tells him to step back, she doesn’t want him to get paint on her. He keeps moving in and she keeps moving back. He moves his thumb over her forehead. She had paint there.

They sit to talk. Alya asks, how could you call the daycare and tell them not to take him? You did the same thing when I went from hospital to hospital looking for a job. Now you’re doing the same thing here. You’re keeping my son from going to daycare. You haven’t changed, Cihan.

Cihan says that daycare wasn’t suitable. Alya is frustrated. Fine, but what happens if I find a good daycare? Will you let me sign him up? No, you’ll call and tell them not to accept him. Cihan says he won’t do that. Not if it’s good. Alya folds her arms. Okay, tell me what is good. Give me the address so I can enroll my son. Where is it? In the hospital, Cihan replies, I’m building a nursery/daycare in the hospital.

Alya is surprised. A daycare at the hospital? That’s right, Cihan replies, that way Deniz will be close and you will be at ease. And it would be great for the other women who work at the hospital. I want everyone to benefit. [I’ll give Cihan a point for this, even though it really suits his purpose.] Do you mean it, Alya asks. Yes, he does. And you’re just telling me know, she asks. It’s a surprise, he answers.

lejos
S2 #75 part 3

Alya is still ticked. She warns, never again say something like my opinion doesn’t matter or that it’s your decision, “He wanted this, I wanted that”. Not in front of my son. If I say no, it means no. You don’t get to use him because he loves you. You’re meddling in our affairs. He’s a child and doesn’t understand. You’re disrupting the mother-son relationship. I’m his mother. And you should have told me about the daycare at the hospital. A chastened Cihan stands up and asks Alya, I’ll start painting the door, is that okay? She lets him go without a word.

Nare goes baby shopping. She stands outside a store and gets that weird feeling again. She recovers and enters the store. She picks out some outfits and pays. Then she feels faint and stumbles. People rush to help her. The clerk says there’s a hospital nearby. A man drives her to the hospital.

Pakize makes a snack for Deniz. Cihan is done with the door. Alya asks Pakize to open the windows to air out the apartment. No need, Cihan says, we’re leaving. Where are we going, Alya asks. Cihan replies, to the konak. Yay! Deniz shouts, the konak! Alya is annoyed and says no. She sends Deniz back to his snack and sends Cihan to the kitchen so they can talk.

What did I say to you, Alya asks, you’re so good at this and you know it. And you know why I don’t go to the mansion. You know my reasons for staying away from you better than anyone else. It’s paint, Cihan replies, the smell is strong. It’s not enough to open the windows. You’re a doctor, you should know better than anyone else, don’t you think?

Alya has had enough. You ruined things at daycare, you showed up to paint the bedroom, and now you want us to leave. Stop this! We painted the room, Cihan answers, it looks good. Deniz is very happy. Look, I’m sorry about daycare. I was wrong not to tell you, but I was trying to surprise you. It’s always the same, Alya replies, you make a mistake and justify it with excuses. You always have reasons.

And why are you so upset, Cihan asks, is it because of Meryem? Alya denies it. No, it’s your fault. I’m tired of you never listening to me. You do whatever you want. Meryem has nothing to do with it. You keep bringing it up, not me. She’s not the one who annoys me. She’s not to blame. A moment of silence to let the fire die out, and Cihan says let’s go. Alya resigns herself. You told him so now we have to go. Cihan says, yes, we shouldn’t upset him. [God forbid the little pasha is told no.]

Unfortunately, it’s bad news for Nare. It’s not the usual pregnancy stuff. It’s preeclampsia. The doctor explains it to her. Nare asks, what should I do? The doc tells her that her life is at risk. The pregnancy might have to be terminated. Nare asks if there is a treatment. Yes, the doc answers, in some cases it can be controlled with medication. But your levels are high and we can’t run that risk for you.

This is devastating for Nare [Ugh. Why can’t my fave couple be happy? Does every pregnancy need to have complications?] Nare wants her IV catheter out and wants to leave. She states, I’m an administrator at a hospital that my brother owns and his wife is a doctor. I’ll get examined and treated there. The doc asks her to calm down and the IV will be removed.

The doc tells Nare she has a right to a second opinion. Nare asks, how can you tell me something like this? It’s a delicate matter. You think it’s easy to terminate a pregnancy without offering treatment? The doc gives her a prescription and says, your life is in serious danger. I prescribed medication for you, and you should start it immediately. You should tell your family. Get a second opinion, but I don’t believe the result will change. You will have to terminate your pregnancy.

S2 #75 part 4

Nare takes the script and leaves. She replays the doc’s words and cries. She thinks about the gender reveal and how happy they were. Now, that little boy might not be born. She sobs. She gets a call from Sahin and calms herself to take it. Nare, I’m home now, he says, but you’re not. I’m worried. I went shopping, she replies, I couldn’t help myself. I bought a few things for the baby. Nare can hardly conceal her heartbreak. Sahin can hear it in her voice. He asks, are you crying? You sound different What’s wrong? She answers, I’m fine. Looking at baby clothes made me emotional. I bought so much. Sahin is good with that and says don’t be home late. She hangs up and cries.

Cihan brings Alya and Deniz to the konak. The staff greets them. Sada and Kaya come out to meet them. Sada gives Alya a puzzled look and asks, what’s wrong? Cihan steps in, what’s wrong, mother? Since when are our doors closed to Alya? Sada replies, did I say that? If Boran finds out you’re here, he’s liable to break down the door. They try to shush her in front of Deniz. I’m just sharing my worries, she answers. Cihan says to let him worry about that. What are you trying to do? Sada says she’s not doing anything.

Cihan changes the subject. He prompts Deniz to tell Sada what they did today. We redecorated my room today, he says, we painted it, but the smell was so strong, Dad said we should come here. Sada says that was a good decision. She’s glad he’s there. Kaya tells Deniz that they redecorated his room at the konak, too. Deniz grabs his mom and insists they check it out right away. The little pasha approves of the changes.

Outside, Sada tells Cihan he can change every inch of that room, but you can’t erase the fact that Boran is his father. Cihan nods, we can’t erase it, but Boran no longer exists for me. But that child’s place will never change. That can’t be erased.

Kaya and Cihan go up to Deniz’s bedroom. Kaya asks the boy if he likes it. Yes, he likes it very much and thanks him. Alya’s softening a bit, she’s smiling. Cihan tells Deniz he should thank Aunt Nare. She’s the one who organized this. Alya also thinks they should call Nare and Deniz agrees. It’s so nice here, he says, we should stay forever. Alya tries her best to handle this delicate subject. We redecorated your room, we painted, and you’ll get the furniture you wanted. That room is nice, too.

Kaya distracts Deniz with toys. Cihan smiles at Alya and throws her words back at her: “why paint?” “Why get new furniture? We knew what we were doing. Alya rolls her head and grudgingly says, bravo. Cihan notes a bravo is not a substitute for a thank you. What do you mean, bravo? On that note he leaves the room. Alya watches Deniz with Kaya and smiles.

Dinner time. Deniz is chowing down. Sada thinks that he must have missed Ummu’s cooking. Alya warns him to slow down. Cihan quips, poor kid probably hasn’t been eating well over there. Alya shoots him a look. Cihan smiles at her, just kidding, relax. Then he tells Deniz it’s a good idea to slow down. Too late, Deniz replies, I’ve finished. He runs off to his new room.

S2 #75 part 5

Kaya tells Alya that Zerrin’s divorce trial is tomorrow. Will you be there? Alya says, yes. As a witness, I’ll say whatever is necessary. Sada comments, Demir won’t let Zerrin go. Kaya thinks he will. They will be divorced. Come tomorrow and see for yourself. No matter what Demir does, the judge will divorce Zerrin.

Sada counters, the judge might very well grant the divorce, but Demir won’t quit. Do you think he’ll leave you alone? This has become worse than gangrene. Things happen for a reason. Allah didn’t want that baby girl to be born. Take it as a sign and please forget Zerrin once and for all. Cihan tells Sada to be quiet. Kaya says, tomorrow I will take Zerrin’s hand and bring her with me. If you say anything when Zerrin walks through that door, then you and I will have problems. I hope everything works out tomorrow, Cihan says, Zerrin will live with us and neither Demir nor Ecmel will be opposed… or you, mother.

Okay, Sada replies, take Zerrin’s hand and bring her home. But what will happen with Meryem? Alya rolls her eyes. Kaya sighs. Cihan tells his mom MYOB. Sada continues, that woman is getting out of the hospital soon. Do you think her wretched ex-husband will let her live in peace? He’ll stalk her again. Be mindful and think about that. Cihan snaps back, you’re the last person who should talk about being mindful. Sada tells Cihan to get Meryem and bring her to the konak. Alya’s eyes bug.

And we are out.

Wednesday’s
anastasia - i didn’t see your recap was up! I found it and thank you so much. When I miss details in an episode I don’t go back to look again, i just wait for the recap. And you really deliver!!

The main thing I remember about Wednesday’s episode is that we had very rare sightings. Somebody watching TV (Fidan) and somebody actually reading a book (Meryem)!

Also I enjoyed seeing the sheep. Now I’m going to read Dondi’s recap.

Maggie

Thanks, dondi. Your asides were very on point, as usual. Deniz really gets on your nerves, eh? I just think he's the only child in a houseful of an all-adult family and some fond staff. He seems to bring them joy in a very bleak environment.

If Sadakat were willing to take a hit to her self-esteem, she could nip this whole Meryem thing in the bud. But no. She's willing to sabotage her son's relationship with the love of his life to placate her evil spawn.

Yes, Cihan shouldn't have vetoed Alya's choice of daycare. But it seems to me that whoever writes this stuff doesn't want anyone to ever leave the locales we've already seen.

Amen on why spoil Sahin and Nare's happy lives! I must say that I'm becoming very disenchanted with dizis. They seem to consist of months and months of thwarting every character's chances for happiness. Golden is even worse.

Lejos

thank you big time, Dondi! You nailed it! And thank you for translating what Nare has. I couldn't figure out why she'd have to terminate.

This episode had me with steam coming out of my ears. In Thursday's episode Cihan said he was sorry he'd made a decision without her input, the one about having Meryam stay in town. And then what does he do? He decides he's going to create a daycare at the hospital and doesn't tell her. Instead he sabotages her attempt to enroll Deniz, embarrassing her and of course wasting her time. Later he unveils his plan like isn't he wonderful - and he wanted it to be a surprise! So he's sabotaged her efforts and then thinks he's a hero.

She calls him after the fiasco at the day care and what does he do? He cuts her off very rudely and says he can't talk. She ends up having to call people and even goes to his work trying to find him. There was no reason he couldn't have taken her call.

And for his next trick, he's let himself into her apartment and is actually painting Deniz's room without consulting with her first. And he's picked the color without her input. Well, Deniz approved. So he's the hero in his own eyes - the room is painted and Deniz is happy. Look at all the wonderful things he's done! He has completely steamrolled over her, but who cares? It's all about him being a big benefactor. Who cares what she wants or thinks?

Controlling, much? If I was dating a guy who did all that the next day I wouldn't be dating the guy. That kind of behavior is a hard no. Or a major red flag, as they say.

Yeah, a daycare at the hospital is a great idea. But how many schools would she have visited (that he would sabotage) before it was actually ready to start up?

A small question: I thought it was Sadakat who blocked Alya from finding a hospital job, not Cihan. Am I wrong about that?

Maggie

Just reading this. Hope you had a Happy Birthday!

Agree regular Medicare + Supplement is the way to go. My sister, a PT in a senior/nursing home, steered us that way. Medicare Advantage has too many limitations and restrictions, especially as people get older and sick
And it's difficult to switch to regular Medicare if you start with Medicare Advantage.

Thank you for the clip of Demir sweetly holding and talking to baby Simal. There are tears in his eyes as he contemplates the situation.

They don't make up medical conditions on this show, so I looked up pregnancy poisoning the mother and yes, it's an old term for preclampsia. I am also disgusted that the show would bring that disaster to Nare and Sahin. I imagine the prescription Nare was given is to start a miscarriage.

Agree that Cihan is too controlling, and really not accepting the physical separation from Alya. So disrespectful of what Alya needs.

Sadakat needs to reveal Boran's parentage herself to get ahead of Boran.

I agree that it was Sadakat that maneuvered to get Alya refused at every hospital she applied to. Cihan actually bought her a hospital to work in. The show must not have a continuity monitor.

I am starting to get frustrated with this dizi.

Yippee! The Golden State Valkyries won the WNBA Championship tonight! It has been such an exciting season. I'm very proud of them for winning it all in only their second year in the WNBA.

Thanks for your comments, everyone.

My memory is a bit fuzzy, but I also think Sadakat initially blocked Alya from finding a job. And IIRC, Cihan wasn’t too keen on Alya working either. He didn’t want her to work at Yonca because Demir owned it at that time. Add in that Mine also worked there. So, Demir gave Alya a job to stick it to Cihan. Sadakat then stopped women from using Alya as their doctor. Cihan found a way to buy the hospital and solved the issues of Alya’s employment. But then Mine became a big problem. It seems like such a long time ago.

“Controlling, much? If I was dating a guy who did all that the next day I wouldn't be dating the guy.” ITA, Maggie!

Yes, novelera, I don’t care for Deniz. But I suppose my real issue is with the adults who are spoiling the heck out of him. The kid is growing up with such a sense of entitlement. He’s well on his way to becoming a true Albora man like his dads and uncles. Such role models. I fully support Alya sending her son to daycare and then to elementary school. He needs a life outside of the konak.

“But it seems to me that whoever writes this stuff doesn't want anyone to ever leave the locales we've already seen.” Lol, I think it’s a matter of logistics and budget for the production to rent spaces.

“… months and months of thwarting every character's chances for happiness.” TNs can be like this, too. That’s sort of what turned me off on the Televisa shows. Nowadays, weekly Turkish eps have expanded to almost 2 ½ hours long and a season can have 30+ eps. Dizis have become so popular worldwide, the productions want to make the most money they can on international sales. IMHO, they often end up ruining a series by doing this.

Anastasia, I don’t think the doc gave Nare an abortion pill. At least I hope not. I believe it was to start treatment. But she warned that the treatment might not work and the pregnancy would eventually need to be terminated. IMO, that should take place in a medical facility.

I’ll say it again, Sadakat only thinks of herself. She only “cares” about others if it fits her purpose. Her sense of self-preservation is strong. There’s no way she wants her affair with Ecmel to be exposed. It’s not just a matter of self-esteem. It’s a matter of honor. She’s lucky that Azem saved her life by marrying her. I’ll bet she would throw Boran under the bus, too, if it really came to that. She’s messed with her other kids’ lives already. How about a phone call to the Bulgarians?

Congratulations to the GS Valkyries. Very impressive.

Congratulations to the Valkyries!

dondi, ITA about telenovelas also making their characters suffer and have misunderstandings. Is it possible the difference is how much longer dizis last and they can't give us a HEA too soon (or based on at least one I've seen, ever)?
