Sueño de Amor (SdA) #30. Tuesday April 19, 2016. Ghost, Coma, Water Bucket Toss, Military Camouflage, Hobo Sex, Afro Wig, Father And Son Boinking The Same Gal... Sure You Can’t Squeeze Something Else In, Juabbly Juan?

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a quick summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

I think that maybe, just maaaybe, Juanito Osorio is getting a tad desperate here! Here’s what went down, pell-mell:

Erasmo also has a smartphone. No wonder the Gallos can’t afford milk or tomatoes!

There are no records of an Ágata having studied at the Magenta School of Arrested Development and Vindictive Ghosts, otherwise known as Instituto Palacios.

Esperanza calls Pamela María Paula Rivas Iturbe, because she rubbed her eyebrow with her pinkie and threatened to exact her revenge on Félix for confiscating her tablet. María Paula was the evil triplet from “Lazos de Amor”. Playing those triplets was arguably Lucero’s best acting performance ever, a performance I highly doubt that Angélique Boyer will even come close to emulating, in the much awaited (but not by me) “Tres Veces Ana”

Margarita is aware that Félix is a lot younger than her but that doesn’t make her a cradle robber (una asalta-cunas) either. It makes her a sabertooth cougar, as our recapper and patio regular, Pablo, likes to call her.

Viviana goes into a coma. Zero surprise here. We saw it coming a mile away.

Pasión y Poder (PyP) #127. Monday April 18, 2016. Let’s Face It, This Novela Is A Glamorized Version Of The Maury Povich Show!

At a glance

-- The cutting room floor fodder took over the whole episode. It seems to be a telenovela tradition to turn Últimos Capítulos into filler galore. Why begin lining up anvils, unravelling hidden truths and tying up loose ends when you can cram it all in the finale?
-- Arturo, PyP’s resident runteldat, runs to tell Julia that Eladio came to his office to provoke him.
-- Eladio, PyP’s resident rogón arrastrado (the crawling begging take-me-back), warns Julia against Arturo’s lies and manipulations.
-- Julia, PyP’s resident Princess Confudida, refuses to listen to anyone except the man who has manipulated her all her life, i.e. her toxic father.
-- Nina, PyP’s resident reformed villana, who never got to commit any real villainies, is flitting about the episode, distributing hugs, smiles and words of support.
-- David, PyP’s resident sisterfudger, is adamant to renounce to Regina while pining for her to anyone who would care to listen.
-- Regina, PyP’s resident love martyr, is adamant to renounce to David while pining for him to anyone who would care to listen.
-- Clara and Justino, PyP’s resident filler, are bugging everybody with their stupid wedding.

El Hotel de los Secretos #58, 4/18/16: At last, we have a winner.

Julio tells Isabel the truth about Cecilia. She helped him out when he was hiding from the police. He owes her everything. She came for him, and he's going to leave with her - but not until he helps Isabel find what she's been looking for.

"Then, I'll have no more reason to stay here... right?"

"Right," Isabel replies.

And it seems that she means it, because in the morning, she makes nice with Diego. She apologizes that this marriage hasn't been what he expected, nor has she been the wife that he expected. Diego is gracious about it, but Isabel admits that she's kept secrets from him. He admits that he's kept secrets from her too. They agree to start over.

But she's full of baloney, because when he goes into the bathroom, she transfers something (I can't see what) from under her pillow to the drawer in her night-table.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #29. Monday April 18, 2016. I Cannot Teach Her. The Girl Has No Patience.

At a glance

-- Ricardo starts Esperanza's super agent training.

-- Kracy and Ernesto seal their alliance against Reecherd with a series of bizarre mating rituals.
-- Juabbly Juan is definitely going ahead with that ridonculous haunting storyline. ¡Que la Virgen de la Paz se apiade de nosotros! May la Virgencita de la Paz take pity on us!

A closer look

Tonight’s tumble into the Sueñolandia dump begins with a repeat of PatoLuca's reconciliation. I’m in a magnanimous mood tonight, so I’ll spare you the rehash of Friday’s gibes.

At the house of self-deluded warriors, Esperanza is still adamant to learn how to be a super agent: “It’s not gonna be easy but if an agent can be a teacher then a teacher can be an agent!” Yes... In Bizarro World! I'm starting to think they detected Esperanza’s tumor in the wrong place. Ricardo acquiesces to her wish: “It’s not the same thing using a handgun as using a chalkboard (pizarrón), but OK, I’ll teach you”. Teach her, sexy Yoda! They spend 5 minutes saying good night. Rest well. Night night. Don’t let the bedbugs bite. Sweet dreams. Sueña bonito. OK, hang up. Esperanza, I love you. Uh-huh, rest well, Ricardo.

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 9 (Apr 18, 2016)

--Accidents do happen. People live, even when the car accident was the deliberate intention to murder both mother and child. The chauffeur was collateral damage.

The accident was provoked by a heartless sister who puts money, envy and entitlement above the sanctity of life and the happiness of her own father, whose days, he feels, are numbered.

Our beloved young heroine was wounded severely and received a blood transfusion from an elderly gentleman who matched her rare blood type. Little do either know they are related as grandfather and granddaughter and neither does Doctor Carlos, who is deeply in love with Fernanda.

Her mother, a most spiteful, acrimonious woman, has been left paralyzed from the waist down and told she will never walk again. Poetic justice? YES? Attitude reforming catastrophe? It doesn't seem so. While she used to let loose with calculated barbs and sarcasm, she tolerated her existence with a man she hated and a daughter she treated with contempt. Now she spits her venomous sentiments at her soon to be ex-husband, whom she blames for everything wrong in her life. She does this within the hearing of her fragile and recovering daughter. She curses them both to leave her alone. She never wants to see either of them again.

Is there a pit deep enough to hold this vile a human being? Will someone take pity on her? We will have to see in the coming week if anyone does.

Pasión y Poder Capitulo #126 Friday, April 15th 2016 Three couples mate, two people get slapped, and no one gets an anvil yet. What gives?

(scenes have been combined for better flow)

Daddy Issues - Everyone has them in this novela

Julia meets with her shrink, who I call Dr. Phil, for some late night therapy. Julia admits that she needs more determination with her father. She still has trouble telling [the rat bastard- my words, not hers] "no". Dr. Phil listens, then asks, if the rat bastard [again, my words, not his] is still imposing himself. Julia replies- that her father has changed for the better, but that she feels like he's still capable of manipulating her in someway. With a stern look and voice, Dr. Phil, tells Julia to not allow her father to have that power over her. Parents should give their kids the roots so they grown with strength and values [values- hmm, that's something that no one seems to have in this show] and guide them so they can fly on their own, and not pull the strings of their lives. Julia agrees with this assessment, but admits that her father still wants to decide what's best for her. And right now, her father thinks that Arturo, is what is the best for her. Dr. Phil points out that her father thought that Eladio was what was best for her 20 years ago. So what matters now is what she thinks, he tells her. Julia says that her father thinks that her Mr. Right is someone who can give her the life of a queen. Dr. Phil points out that she had that life with Eladio, but she gave up the comfort that he gave her, so now they'll have to see what happens with Arturo.

Later, Julia is still get psychoanalyzed by her shrink, and this time, she tells Dr. Phil that the relationship she had with her dad influenced how she got along with the boys. She admits that she has always looked for her father's approval and love. However, she was never able to get it. However, her father has now changed, he's gotten closer to her, and she has no doubts that he does it out of affection. Dr. Phil asks her .. "and how does that make you feel?" Julia replies that it makes her feel good. How can she reject something that she has always wanted. Dr. Phil smells a rat bastard, so he tells Julia to analyze where her father's change is coming from. Julia looks puzzled [and seriously, when doesn't she look puzzled?]. The shrink also wants for her to realize that her value is not in how others value herself, but how she loves herself. Julia admits that it's hard for her to see things in that manner, because she has always looked for the approval of others. The shrink tells her that until she finds that love for herself, she'll never be able to find happiness, with Arturo, Eladio, or anyone else for that matter. Julia listens carefully and takes all that in.

El Hotel do los Secretos #57, 4/15/16: Let's make a deal, A hotel for the baby

Before I begin, I want to point out something that’s been bugging me since Thursday’s episode. Andres asked Julio and Isabel if they already knew that he was Romulo’s son, and both replied that they did, and that made him mad because they kept that secret from him. But Belen also knew, and for a much longer time than they did, since way back when Cristina died, and then she wanted to marry him, but she gets a pass about knowing and not telling him. Hmmmm.

Ok, here we begin. Andres and Belen get married in the church, while Ayala is investigating where the arsenic came from. But the druggist’s brother, who we suspect is a bit of a psycho, has tied Ayala and Dagoberto up and is holding them at gunpoint, angry that they are asking questions. But the gunman’s brother shows up and demands that he put his pistol down, and is very sorry when he learns that they are detectives.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #28. Friday April 15, 2016. Truly Wonderful, The Mind Of A Moron Is.

At a glance

-- Same doo-doo, different day, except that we got a break from the school scenes.

-- Dopey Hopey and Tricky Ricky are now a team, supporting each other and stuff.
-- Several characters ruminate on the implications of the Salmagate sex scandal.
-- Kracy is her usual Kracy self. She gets into trouble with the LAPD for getting drunk and leaving her small kids without adult supervision.
-- PatoLuca fight and reconcile.

A closer look

A pair of grown-up dumbos sit an innocent blond cub down and decide to gratuitously break his wee generous heart: Your dead daddy is a lying motherfella! He lied to separate me from my old flame! He destroyed my sueño de amor! Pedro doesn’t know how to react to this revelation or what to tell the two morons who made it. All he knows is that he can’t judge his father, a father who passed away before his birth. Esperanza says that she decided to tell Pedro because she doesn’t like to hide things from her kids. #EpicFail. If anything qualifies as hide-able, it’s this! Esperanza believes that her health scare taught her not to cling to the past (aferrarse al pasado), that’s why she decided to traumatize her teenage son and fall for the fibs of the man who abandoned her 20 years ago. She adds, as an afterthought, that if things hadn't happened the way they did, Esperanza wouldn’t have had her most cherished treasures, her children, Pedro and Pato. And Tricky Ricky wouldn’t have had his Rodrigo and Selena, he chimes in. If this is the case and you’re grateful for the kids that the “lie” of Pedro Papá gave you, then what was the point of organizing this awkward chat? What did you gain from tarnishing the image of this boy’s deceased father? Moving on.

El Hotel de los Secretos #56, 4/14/16: Some people are just bad eggs

Oh my cheesus, what an episode! Enjoy the recap patio peeps!

Andres shocks everyone by telling them that he is an Alarcon, the whole scene is awesome with Teresa coming *this close* to fainting, Andres makes his exit after telling everyone to keep their miserable lives, and making it clear he wants nothing from them. Teresa tries to cover everything up by telling the guests that Andres is a disgruntled employee and in order to apologize for the scene he caused she gives all the guests free booze and for those that stay the night a free breakfast in the morning. Then she takes her leave.

Once in her room the doctor tells her that her blood pressure is too low but before he can treat her her beloved (hahahah, no) brother in law comes in and throws it down. It seems that years ago he had a plot to take over the hotel (and sell the land?), Teresa discovered this and told her husband because in her own words she really could not keep a secret so big from her own husband, her hateful BIL comes back with "oh yes, because Romulo never kept any secrets from you"- this guy is an ass and I don't like him at ALL, not because I like Teresa but because this jackass is using Andres's love for Belen to try and steal the hotel. I hope they all get scurvy and die!

Pasión y poder, Episode 125, Thursday, April 14, 2016: Dani's LOST! Wait – Dani's FOUND! And Art? Too busy plotting with Humberto to notice.

Agustín and Gabriela do lunch

How can Agustín make Gabriela see THE TRUTH about Franco?  Or at least as much of the truth as he himself is privy to?  He knows about Franco's financial double-dealings, but he hasn't yet learned about the Mouth Breather and child.  (And the chilling contempt Franco feels for his wife?  Is anyone but Gabriela blind to this?)

Gaby continues to make excuses for Franco's heartless behavior.  She knows that he went behind her back to sell her father's shoe factory, all she had left of her late parents.  But he still struggles with daddy issues, poor thing.   Now he has apologized and given her the proceeds of the sale, and she has decided to give him another chance.  After all, he is her husband, and in the end, he was acting on her behalf: the factory was bankrupt.

Agustín looks at Gaby with a mixture of pity and exasperation.  "Ay, Gabriela, maybe you should listen to something else of his," he says, holding up the USB drive Arturo gave him earlier.  "This is a recording of his attempt to blackmail Arturo."  [We know it also captures Franco saying he will sell Gómez Luna secrets to Grupo Montenegro for a price.]

A Surprising Alliance

As the Grupo Montenegro board meeting comes to a close, Miguel tells his father that he will make sure Eladio doesn't use Nina's proposal to harm the company.  [The camera angle widens and we see Nina at the head of the table, looking pleased.  Erick, of course, is scowling.]  Miguel uses the occasion to make another announcement: from now on, he'll be taking an active role in the corporation.  He'll use his power as a share-holder to ensure that his decisions and ideas are taken into account.

"You see, Dad," mutters Erick.  "That's what you get for putting company shares in that one's name and not in mine."  Nina and Arturo stare at one another.  Neither one blinks.

Sueño de amor, Ep. 27 (4.14.2016) Faith is the food of dreams (Hope and charity are just appetizer and dessert)

Aka The only shadow Ricardo is after, is Esperanza's

Once upon a time, there was a dear foolish woman called Dopey Hopey.
One morning, as she was riding the bus to work, suddenly she felt pains in her tummy.
-Oh, dear me, my va-jay-jay is paining! I need to tell Tricky Ricky and Sweety Petey and Flato Pato and Horney Erney and away she ran down the road only to end up being eaten by Crazy Tracy. Y colorín colorado, este cuento se ha acabado.

Esperanza es ahora Dolores Guerrero
Dopey Hopey doesn't feel well and is surrounded by her family including Tricky Ricky, who moved in to save on rent to spend it on plane tickets to see his kids, now living in Elei with their mother.
Kracy never fried them an egg, so now, when he prepares Esperanza's breakfast, Ricardo reminisces about his kids enjoying his -bleep- rancherous and offers the love of his life room service. Hope, who right now could be ''Dolores'' instead, suffers sharp pains in the left fallopian tube and she is afraid it could be cancer. Pato, who reminds her how well she took care of her when she suffered typhoid fever, a broken leg and a crack'd skull, brings a hot water bag. Just in case. It doesn't even it out, but who cares right now? Esperanza hasn't seen her gynecologist since Patricia's birth, so who knows? There may be cobwebs down there...

Someone wrote this on the little blackboard on the wall:
La fé es el alimento de los sueños

When we last left the Gran Manicomio, there were three titillating performances underway, offered by a trio of grand divas, each a reference in her field. Mimí was chirruping away about the miraculous invention of telephones, Cecilia was volunteering as a receptacle for the pent-up sexual frustration of yet another Isabel rejectee and Belén was marking her surprise reappearance in company of two dashing aristocrats.

Julio abandons Cecilia post-congress to go serve dinner. He drops his harmonica in her room.

Sueño de amor #26 Wednesday 4/13/16

A note on "La Virgen de la Paz": After a little research, I discovered that "La Virgen de La Paz" (Our Lady of Medjugorje) has such a prominent role in this novela because producer Juan Osorio has a particular devotion to her.

Now back to the story . . . a little choppy and disjointed on my part. . .

Erasmo and Estrella visit with Kiko in the hospital where he will be recuperating from his surgery. He will need two weeks of rest. Ernesto calls looking for Adrián. Estrella tells Erasmo to tell Ernesto that Adrián is with Salma. Kiko is told that he has to recover from this incident before he can have his surgery to enable him to walk again. In the middle of the night, Kiko tells Erasmo he can leave but Erasmo insists on staying and talks about how much he loves Kristel.

Nacho and Begoña are out having dinner. He tells her that he was able to get his wedding ring back after he had pawned it to get money to set up the sandwich stand and that he also broke off his friendship with the other two stooges. Begoña is not impressed and tells him there will be nothing between them until he is working.

Chapter 123: Paterfamilias Redux

Divorce sometimes sounds like an easy solution to a complex problem. The sad fact is that while it solves some problems it creates others. Rich or poor, this is never more true than when the divorced individuals are parents and when they try to compensate for past wrongs. Unfortunately, some become worse instead of better and for others it is too late. – D.D.

David brought Regina a cup of coffee as they waited for news from the doctor. He remembered how she preferred it. Arturo arrived in answer to their call. Before he could ask any questions, much to everyone's discomfort, Eladio and Nina arrived together.
Where is Daniela?” asked Nina.
Why did you come here with Eladio?” Arturo asked her.
Why are you together?” asked David. Eladio held up his hand to halt further questions.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #25. Tuesday April 12, 2016. The Queue To Smack Rickety Ric Upside The Head Forms Here!

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a quick summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Silvana resents her mother for divorcing her rich father and plunging them into a life of "poverty". Margarita feels that she did the best she could given the circumstances. Her husband was an abusive man and she had no choice but to leave him. She provided the ungrateful daughter with a roof over her head, food, clothing and a decent education. It’s a shame Margarita didn’t also provide Silvana with a few chanclazos to straighten her out. For those unfamiliar with it, a "chancla" is a flip-flop or slipper that, in addition to its primary function as footwear, was used as a boomerang that mothers and grandmothers sent flying across the room to set straight their unruly children and grandchildren. Chanclazos were an accepted child-rearing technique in my family and it proved effective in keeping us out of trouble, most of the time, anyway. It is worth noting that, growing up, my brothers, cousins and I were fearless savages. Little devils would be too cute a sobriquet for the veritable terrors we were. Sorry for the long parenthesis. Back to the show.

Pasion y Poder 20160411 #122 David, The Crackhead Whisperer

Over a meal, Julia told Humberto that she gave her wedding ring back to Eladio.  Humberto is pleased.  Maybe Eladio will finally get a hint that Julia is over him.

Over the phone, Nina told Eladio that she is ready to sell her shares.  She will stop by his house tomorrow and they will continue on to the notary.  Eladio avoided temptation and asked Julia to meet him at the notary office instead.

Gabriela told Augustin that Franco sold her family's shoe factory behind her back.  Augustin called Franco a dirty rat bastard thief who do anything for cash.  Augustin informed Gaby that Franco blackmailed Art.  Gaby's all like Franco is an innocent angel and he would never do anything like that.  I got proof, says Augustin.  He takes Gaby back to the day that Julia was hospitalized for falling down the stairs.  Franco saw Art sneak into Julia's room.  The next day, Franco approached Art and asked him for hush money.  Like and idiot, Franco personally showed up at the Montenegro offices to negotiate the payment.  He didn't realize that he was being recorded.  Gaby is shocked.  She believed that she had convinced Franco not to tell Eladio.  Franco agreed not to bust Julia out because he loved her.

El Hotel de los Secretos #53, 4/11/16: You've Got to Hide Your Love Away

Benjamin is listening at the door as Lupe tells Ayala he heard Angela and Romulo arguing, not long before Romulo's death. "I'm not going to let you do this! Over my dead body, or over yours," Lupe remembers hearing Angela declare.

Lupe recalls hearing Angela say she wouldn't let Romulo destroy their (her and Andres) life. Romulo said he was going to use "that document" and that his lawyer has a copy: "Andres is my son."

Angela was incredulous: Sure, TWENTY YEARS LATER the guy wants to recognize his son. Right. "You should have thought of that before," she told him. She vowed to do "anything" to protect Andres.

Lupe is devastated to have incriminated Angela in this manner. Later, Angela sees Ayala march Lupe past her office, and nearly hyperventilates.

Benjamin approaches Angela to warn her. He's known her for thirty years, and Lupe has betrayed her. Angela stiffens; she doesn't want to hear about Lupe's and Benjamin's "primate war." "But Lupe was talking about you and Romulo," Benjamin says.

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 8 (Apr 11, 2016)

Well, it had to happen, but it all happened for Fernanda and Carlos at the end of Week 7. Couldn't they have extended their happiness one more week?

Misunderstandings, misinterpretations, lies of commission, lies of omission, fury, rejection, deception, sorrow, hurt, jealousy--it happened to just about all the persons integral to the story.

The person who hurts the most right now is Fernanda, the innocent schoolgirl who is in love for the first time with someone who seems to have been two-timing her with a former Miss Universe.

Pedro is a close second as he watches his one-sided marriage fall apart in front of his daughter's eyes. His anger at Amelia is somewhat justified for Fernanda's biological father is back in the picture and Amelia seems to be amenable to having him know his child. Pedro risks Fernanda's disappointment in learning he is not her "real" father, although he has been her real father for 19 years. In not wanting to tell Fernanda about her paternity, he underestimates the powerful bond they have if he believes Fernanda will reject him outright to begin a relationship with Luis.

One glimmer of hope for Carlos, the besotted novio, to rescue his relationship with Fernanda is that he learns from a reliable source that one of the proofs Isabela had for verifying her pregnancy is false. What will Isabela have to say when he confronts her with the news, as he surely will.

One glimmer of hope for Pedro is that he doesn't know Luis and Fernanda know each other already because they are embroiled in a bitter lawsuit which didn't go Luis' way. How will Luis react to the news that it is the same Fernanda Perez who is his biological child.

Pasión y Poder Capitulo #121 Friday, April 8th 2016 Hey, Guess What? My BF (Who is your ex) is a better lover than my ex (Who is now your BF). Hehehehe.

My BF is accompanying my ex and me to Monterrey. Darn.

Yamila tells Regina that she'll need more construction workers over in Monterrey. As luck would have it, Regina's BF is also her contractor, so Jorge will be tagging along to Monterrey with Regina and her ex-boyfriend, David. Regina, is uh, not too thrilled with the idea, and her face says more than a thousand words. But does Turtle Boy realize it? Nah.

Over at GLA.. Eladio has admitted to having done the deed with Nina. And Julia.. well she's NOT taking the news so well. She can't believe that Eladio has shamelessly admitted to it. Eladio reminds Julia that she's his EX and he did promise her that he'd tell no more lies. He then accuses her of having fooled around with Arturo (while still married to him) when she and Arturo saw each other over at the beach. She denies it, but he's not buying that story. He turns to head to his chair, and she grabs him by the arm, and wants to know why he got involved with Nina. Was it to get back at Arturo?! Was it to bother her?! He replies that he doesn't get what her problem is, they are divorced and each can do as they please. She turns around from him, and can't believe that he's being sooo stupid! (Honestly, I can't either, this little game of spiting your ex, is sooo high school, sheesh!) She then accuses him of doing this to get back at her for something she didn't do. We see as Eladio wants to reach out to gently put his arms on her shoulders, but he fights the urge to do so, and instead tells her that he's discovering what a marvelous woman Nina is. Oh, boy! Now Julia, who has been wearing her wedding bands, takes them off, and returns them to him, telling him that this was the last thing that was left of their marriage. She tells him that he can go ahead and stay with The Marvelous Nina and leaves the office. Now alone, Eladio talks to himself, saying that Julia hasn't realized that no woman as a marvelous as Julia is. He then professes his love for Julia. A love that he will always feel.

El Hotel de los Secretos #51, 4/7/16 and #52, 4/8/16: Death by poisoning

Since we are missing Thursday's recap, I took the time to do some bulletpoints from the show.

Highlights from Thursday’s episode:

*Despite Teresa’s objection, Isabel goes through with the exhumation of Romulo’s cadaver.
*Sofia is at an abby that treats people with mental illnesses.
*Genaro is fighting with Ayala in front of all the prostitutes about the testing of the women for venereal diseases. He thinks it’s unnecessary, he attacks Cecilia, but she is defended by Jorge, which is amazing since we now know she’s a woman, and her name is Manuela.
*Alfredo comes back to the hotel.
*Genaro is ailing, most likely he has venereal disease.
*Romulo’s remains are being examined by Ayala and Matilde. Surprised that they buried him naked since there doesn’t seem to be any clothing on his bones, lol.
*Judge Bareda orders the end to the investigation of Anastasio Tagle, because Teresa wanted to protect Filipe.
*Angela gives Lupe his money back, Julio watches her.
*Diego sweet talks Isabel into trusting him about why she wants to have Romulo’s bones examined. He says he stands behind her in desire to investigate Romulo’s death.
*Sofia makes a friend at the treatment center, Luisa.
*We learn that at least one of Manuela’s band members knows she’s a woman, and he calls her hermanita.
*Andres asks Natalia out.
*Isabel and Julio have an argument about trusting Diego, Julio doesn’t want her to.
*Julio watches Angela reach for a bag that is hidden under the edge of a bridge in front of a grotto of a religious statue. She looks in it and puts it back. She leaves and Julio retrieves the bag and puts it under his mattress. We don’t get to see what it is.
*Julio has hidden the letters that he got from Romulo’s secret room under his mattress.
*Teresa and Judge Bareda put a halt to Ayala’s examination of Romulo.

Now on to Episode #52

Sueno de Amor, #23 Friday, 04/08/16 Too disturbing for words

Good morning everyone. I hope you all enjoy your weekend. I sure know I started mine on the wrong foot, after having watched this very disturbing episode. I won't get into too much detail when it comes to most of the show, because, honestly, it wasn't very interesting, but there were a couple of scenes that left me speechless (especially one in particular).
More on that later.

For now, we start with Ric arriving at Esperanza’s house for the tenth time that day to tell her that Tracy is going to take the kids and go to LA. Slow motion sadness all around.
He reminds Esperanza and the viewers all the suffering he’s had to endure in his life : the desert, jail, war, training to become an incompetent SuperSpy and a lousy boss. But nothing prepared him for the pain of losing his children. He will go to LA and appeal the temporary custody sentence. Tracy is using the children, which is too low even for her.
Espe encourages him to fight for the most valuable thing in his life : his biceps children’s happiness. They get touchy with one another and glance longingly, but this is as far as they go… for now.

Mario and Felicia are still having coffee, when he says that he has to leave. He is so clumsy in his infatuation, that he is barely able to stumble outside. Felicia loves what she’s seeing.
Until I get an explanation about her bitchiness with Pato a while ago, I won’t be able to get behind this couple.

Karmageddon for the Rich and Shameless: Pasión y Poder 4/8/16

I have always loved the concept of poetic justice, of people getting the fate they deserve. This does not often happen among those who can buy their way out of it or get someone else to do it for them. Many – if not most – who can do this have no conscience about it. Few feel any regret for their actions or remorse for the consequences; most that do are too late to do more than pick up the pieces.

Human crime is not limited to things subject to legal judgment. Many crimes are social, familial, or both. Most of these are behind closed doors and at least half will hurt the perpetrator as much as the victim. All they can do at that point is close ranks to save face if they can manage to avoid the paparrazzi who – for this crowd – is Dante's Inferno. – D.D.

Sueño de amor, Ep. 22 (4.7.2016) Esperanza wants to believe something so badly, she ignores the reality around her.

Or like we say, 'No hay peor ciego que el que no quiere ver.

The dream love is becoming a nightmare
Luca (immaturus sucrotoxicus) postponed his trip a number of times until he lost his place in Járvar and even when he's supposed to go to Boston, is still here. He offered Adrián an emergency hot line in case he felt the temptation of grabbing the bottle and left the room. After him, Viviana told Adrián how lonely she feels and accidentally drops the bomb: He is a unwanted son. But since every cloud has a silver lining, she looks it on the bright side: Ernesto (Immoralix Vulgaris) never left her. Well, either that or he stayed for her gorgeous bank account.
While packing in his room, Luca has a surprise visit from Anastasia (fauxblondix skankis) and the cameraman make sure that we, and her, of course, see his ''wedding'' ring. Is actually a promise of eternal love ring, a never ending love like the silvery circle itself. She tries to rekindle the fire they used to light in this very room, but Luca is taken and not interested.

Forever 64
Later on, Viviana (MILFus gerontofobicus) asks Ana who did her boob job because she wants a pair like hers. Luca, who swears not being interested in Ana but still follows her around, hears them and goes crazy remembering the motorboat moments he had with the voluptuous blonde.
-Mom, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Getting addicted to cosmetic surgeries is worse than crack and she cries while saying that she needs to feel young again to stop taking selfies with a filter. She honestly wants to be loved again like when she was young. I am sure Ernst didn't see her beauty because he was busy seeing the resemblance of her green eyes and the dollar bills

Pasión y poder, Episode 120, Thursday, April 7, 2016: What happens in Vegas... comes back to haunt you in Mexico (even when nothing much happened).

In which Julia and Eladio suffer, each believing that the other has been unfaithful, and each too proud to tell the other the truth; Nina gets tougher; and Arturo...  well, Arturo is still a putz.

Franco the Joker is taking the enemy down.  He can hardly contain his glee – he smirks and mugs and grins, excitedly waving his spider-like fingers in the air as he cants his head to one side or the other.  He is pushing Julia farther and farther out of the picture.  Eladio grows more vulnerable every day.  Gabriela still seems bewitched.  And the Joker dances daringly ever closer to the flaming abyss.

Julia says goodbye to the tacky charms of Las Vegas and thanks Arturo for providing a few days of distraction away from all her problems.  Of course, she admits, flashing him a radiant smile, she is still a little confused.  [Oh god.]  Arturo, however, has his eye fixed firmly on the prize.  He still loves Julia, he assures her – he has never stopped loving her.

Sueño de amor #21 Wednesday 4/6/16

Wow! Another action filled episode. Our questions are finally being answered! So, let us get right to it!

We pick up the action inside the warehouse where La Sombra is keeping Esperanza. He is continuing to threaten her at gun point and threatening her. As the force of special agents engage La Sombra's henchmen, there is a lot of gun fire, hand to hand combat and a confrontation with a group of La Sombra mannequins. As Ricardo wonders which if any of the La Sombra figures are real in front of him, the voice of La Sombra greets him and tells him how much he enjoyed making Esperanza suffer. Ricardo shoots but La Sombra himself is long gone. In the background of much of the scene there in "James Bondish" music playing. Ricardo finally finds and unties Esperanza. He take her into his arms and apologizes for what he caused to happen to her. She just sobs.

At the same time, Tracy is at home on the phone with Mr. Parker, her lawyer, telling him that she does not have to feel sorry for him (Ricardo) because that is the only way to force him (to do what she wants). She hopes Mr. Parker understands. Talking to herself she tells Ricardo, her love, that one way or another he was looking for it (guess she is now giving it to him).

El Hotel de los Secretos #50, 4/6/16: The Party is Over

This is your substitute reporter for Hotel this evening. Ay Caray, so much happened yesterday, I hope tonight is a little quieter. I mean, gunshots, problems with the electric lights. My nerves just can't take it (Anita fans self). I didn't even think the canapes and the hors d'oeuvres were that good at the party. It was too hot and too many overdressed people. No wonder Cece and Diego went out for some fresh air. And to top it off, the guest of honor never showed up, nor any of the Alarcon progeny. It was very insulting.

BREAKING NEWS: The party was a bust. The Lady in Red appeared at the last moment. The missing Anastasio Tagle has been found, dead in a church pew. Investigation is just beginning. Matilde loses a special patient, the One-Armed Pablo succumbs to his bleeding mid-section. Ayala comforts her with a philosophical discourse on the cycle of life and death. Sofia disappears in the middle of the night. Diego keeps losing track of his wife. These and other stories will be in tomorrow's edition.

Part 1
Diego has been searching everywhere for his missing wife. He finds her in Romulo's study with a tall skinny camarero, alone, together, sort of. He quizzes Isabel about this inappropriate situation. Isabel thinks before she speaks. She tells him she was looking for a necklace and thought she might have left it here. She often comes here for solace after her father died. She holds up the necklace (the "Angela" necklace). Diego's original question has not been answered. What is the camarero doing here? Julio has been thinking before he speaks. He tells Diego the senora was locked in and called for help. The room is usually locked during big events (security, dude) and one of the servants may have locked it not knowing the senora was inside.

El Hotel de los Secretos #49, 4/5/16: To Err Is Human; To Be Heir is Andres

Sofia can’t deal with the Big Void in her life; Mama talks her down after admitting she hated Sofia as a child but then learned or realized how much she loved her.  Why else had she stayed with her night and day since she went totally bonkers…..(Great minds of Viewerville actually do want to know.) Alfredo gave up on her; she doesn’t deserve him now.  If she pulls the trigger, says Mama then Mama will kill herself also.

It was because Sofia had her father’s looks and bearing – Teresa saw his lyin’ eyes and mouth and Teresa’s own humiliations.  Sofia  was also a very demanding child.  She drained everything out of Teresa.  Once she was finally able to see Sofia for herself, it was too late; Sofia wasn’t “in there”.  Teresa tells her they’ll find the truth together,  they’ll find it themselves together.  A big mother daughter hug ensues.

Pasión y Poder Martes 4/5/16 #118

Chapter 118: Higher Stakes

People gamble with all sorts of currency and all kinds of luck, good and bad. Those who are lucky at cards are said to be unlucky in love. Some people gamble on both and lose badly. Some don't realize that there are higher stakes than money like hearts, reputations, egos, lives. Typically, they also don't examine the odds... or that the house always wins in the end. – D.D.

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #20. Tuesday April 5, 2016. La Sombra Shoots Esperanza!

Hello Patio Pals! We’ll have to make do with a quick summary until a volunteer takes over this recapping spot.

Triana is still alive. That woman has more lives than a siamese cat.

In a warehouse somewhere in Mexico City’s murky underbelly of crime and art trafficking, La Sombra shows Esperanza his mangled hand or the stump where his hand used to be. We were only shown Esperanza’s horrified expression. All we know for sure is that La Sombra has lost sensation there and that Ricardo is to blame. We also learn that La Sombra murdered Ricardo’s best friend and threatened little Rodrigo with killing his father.

Kracy and Ernesto were getting ready to really know each other, in the biblical sense, but news of Esperanza’s kidnapping interrupts them.

Ernesto mobilizes his connections to look for Esperanza. He also comforts Pato and vows to pay whatever ransom (rescate) the kidnappers demand.

El Hotel de los Secretos #48, 4/4/16: Smoke and Bookshelves

It's night-time. The Gold Knife Killer, or a copycat, stabs Angela's husband Pablo. Pablo screams, and Ayala et al come running. Ayala instructs someone to give Pablo first aid. Meanwhile, Ayala searches high and low for the killer, but is felled by a block dropped from above.

Andres and Julio are in their room. Julio again fails to tell Andres anything. What's more, Cecilia is at their door! She wants to talk. Julio takes her outside. She tells him she did Diego. Julio is unimpressed. Cece says Diego knows Isabel wasn't a virgin, and Cece knows that Julio's the guy. She either says that Diego is filled with hell or that being with him was hell... either way, she's got some physical souvenirs from the experience and shows them to Julio: on her lip, on her neck, on her shoulder. "Montejo did this?" Julio asks stupidly. "No, YOU did this to me!" Cece accuses. She says something like, have your fun now while you can, because the longer I have to wait for you the more you'll have to pay. (That sounds insane. Did I get it wrong? Is she really that nutty?)

Isabel braids her hair. Diego calls her to bed. She dutifully approaches. (I guess Cecilia didn't wear him out after all.)

Morning. Benjamin flogs or scourges himself with a wicked-looking cat o' nine tails, luxuriating in every stroke. Is it a routine flogging, or is this a special occasion?

Sueño de Amor (SdA) #19. Monday April 4, 2016. The Evil Ninjas Kidnapped My Mommy!

At a glance

-- La Sombra abducts Esperanza. Finally, things are moving! We are cooking with gas!
-- In other news: Kracy is being her usual Kracy self, Luca is leaving for Járvar at long last, Mario is attracted to a milder version of his castrating wife and Triana Fonseca is dead.

A closer look

Previously on “How I Left Your Mother”: Ricardo drops the “I love you” bomb and his kids’ Wolverine aural faculties picked it up instantly. Igor (that’s Rodrigo to you) is outraged: “You love her? What about Mom?”. He gives Esperanza the stink-eye. Nikita (known in some circles as Selena) says something unintelligible. Sorry, I didn’t catch it; I’m still working on my Russo-Gringo-Spanish.

We’re back at the romantic tête-à-tête of schmaltz and clinginess. A waiter deposits a giant slab of chocolate something on PatoLuca’s table. The kissing step-siblings agree to have a silent parenthesis of staring into each other’s eyes and smelling each other’s aroma, yet we don’t get a respite from the corniness because they just won’t shut up! I swear, there is a starry-eyed 13-year-old girl somewhere, with a giant bag of jelly babies and an endless supply of glitter sharpies churning out the dialogue for this pair. Next!

Erasmo the builder is so poor he can’t afford milk or tomatoes. Ain’t that a biatch! Meanwhile, another builder over on "Pasión y Poder" has so much money he is sparing no expense to woo the daughter of a millionaire. He’s showering her with gifts: flowers, chocolates, tacos al pastor, quesadillas de huitlacoche, a pet turtle and even a fun day at the fair! But I digress.

Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 7 (Apr 4, 2016)

---Notice: Univision has announced a fork in the Camino.  Camino is switching times with Sueno. Camino will be broadcast at 8:00 pm, not 7:00 pm starting Monday night (Apr 4). There has been no reason given why the switch was made (although we might suspect it is doing quite well and they want a stronger lead-in to the show replacing PyP at 9:00).

Carlos and Fernanda are also at a crossroad in their Camino. Fernanda has graduated from the prepa with honors and she has the whole summer ahead of her to decide whether to go to a local university on a full scholarship or study music at a renown school elsewhere. It's not clear where Carlos fits into her dreams. Carlos is ever more committed to a relationship with Fer, but he's faced with Isabela's pregnancy bomb. He wants to keep this information from Fernanda--for now, but too many people in his circle already know. Some want Fernanda to know about it and suffer.

Amelia and Pedro are also at a crossroad in their Camino. Amelia is proceeding with the divorce and plans to tell Fernanda when she returns from her school trip to Cabo. Although she still pines for Luis, she's at the beginning of a new friendship with Lic. Ordoñez, an important bank employee she's met. She's also wants to contact her long-estranged father and to tell Luis that Fer is his daughter. Pedro is conflicted over this turn of events. He's angry and frustrated that all his love and devotion to Amelia in 19 years has not changed her attitude towards him. She does not and cannot love him. She continues to resent him--big time. He does not want Fer to know he's not her bio-daddy.

Pasión y Poder Episode #116 Friday, April 1st 2016 While Julia has a jealous snit, Erick gets busted, and Petra may finally get some romance.

At Casa Montenegro, Julia has arrived to see Daniela, when she spots her ex-husband Eladio with Nina. Naturally, Julia thinks the worst, and accuses her ex-husband of not knowing how to be without a woman. Nina sees this as her golden opportunity, and she's not about to let it slide, so she sticks it to Julia by telling her that she (Nina) and Eladio have just as much right to be together as she (Julia) and Arturo do. With the difference that they (Nina & Eladio) have a clean conscience since they didn't destroy a family. Julia can't believe that Nina has the audacity of accusing her of being with Arturo, when she and Eladio are the ones who are together. Nina can't believe that Julia has the audacity to show her face at Casa Montenegro when Arturo doesn't live there anymore. Before more can be said between both woman, Daniela arrives, and Nina and Eladio leave so Julia and Daniela can talk. (Surprisingly, Eladio remained quiet throughout the scene, was he out of his breath spray, perhaps?!)

In another room at Casa Montenegro, while Nina hopes that Eladio won't get upset with her for what she told Julia, Eladio can't seem to comprehend Julia's behavior. Why was she so irked at the two of them for seeing one another? According to Nina, women are just apprehensive, they love to still be loved, despite the circumstances. Uh, okay.

Meanwhile, Julia offers Daniela her help after she stupidly admits to coming to see her because Arturo asked her to. Daniela is not amused. She already knows that Julia asked David to break up with her. And now this. She doesn't believe in Julia's help.
