Tontas no van 5-27 Wed. - Nothing a few spankings can't fix....
Chava and Beto continue to fight over the lunch. The teacher finally tries to stop them and yells at them why are they fighting. Chava gets mad and decides to throw his chocolate milk at Beto. Whoops, he hits the teacher who is wearing light colors.
Rocio calls it. He’s going to get punished now!
Pato shows up to talk to Santi about this Chava business. He thanks him for calling off the mafia dogs but wants to know why he did this. Santi said for Candi and her son. Pato says fine, thanks, but says he’s concerned about his son’s unhappiness.
Candy gets the call from school. Yes, your kid is one of those…..
Santi says Pato is mal. He says this is crazy you are going to try to live with Candi so Chava can live with his Dad? Many kids can be happy with new partners of parents. Pato says he had the opportunity to live with both parents and was happy and doesn’t know any other way to live. Huh, what about those first 7 years of his life when he didn’t even know he had a Pa… Santi says the kids are throwing tantrums and we need to set them straight by explaining to them. Pato says fine but he’s not going to suffer, so make your decision and talk to him.
Pato stops Candi to complain about Chava and say he needs to be with Pa again. Candy can’t talk right now, but she neglects to tell the Dad his kid is in trouble at school.
Candi talks to the headmaster who notes a change in his attitude. She asks her if she is going to cancel the wedding that bothers her son so much - in a very accusing way? Que???? Isn’t she supposed to be trained in managing children? Blah.
Meno comes back to the restaurant muttering about his recent disgrace. No one can help him, he has to pay the bills. Gogo and the boys tell him to just put his old clothes back on.
Santi good hellos to Candi. She says she’s made a decision that affects them both.
Roci tells Ma about the day's events. Of course Pau takes advantage of this and says that Chava is suffering with that Mom of his, and that she might even throw him out of the house, she is like the witches in the fairy tales.
Candi talks to Santi who assumes that she is not going to marry him and goes off on an ad lib rant about the kids needing a few spankings and so forth and Candi finally says um can I say something, I decided to fight for our relationship. He switches gears and loooves her. She says it won’t be easy, but it can be done. She tells him what happened today at school and he thinks one should never play with lunch.
Pato talks to Beto and Chava and wants to know what’s up. He tells them superheros don’t fight with each other so no fighting. He wants to know why the lunch landed on the teacher. Chava says everything makes him mad. Pato asks him if he is acting up or really bothered by all this and he runs off. Pato laughs with Beto about how bad the teach was soiled, and that they kind of need to support poor Chava.
Santi and Candi are looking at the wedding invitation books again worrying if all will work out and Santi invokes the tenets of “The Secret” or “El Secreto” and tells her to just ask the universe and it will be…ahh what the hell. A bunch of folks running around thinking positively and asking the universe for things can probably only be so bad for humankind, right. What’s the worse that can happen, you don’t get what you want? If anyone has read this and tried it out, let me know what your results have been. Many folks swear by it. Folks used to swear by smoking too, and well, we can see what a mess that made, but apples and oranges, my friends.
Ok, so now we are lunching at Pato’s house and Ali says she thinks it’s great that Candi wants to get married and that Santi is a great guy. Chava doesn’t buy it, and of course Pato’s blood boils as she says this. The kids begin to fight again. Pato quells it.
Santi and Candi discuss a possible trip with the kids so maybe they will see how much they are in love and magically everything will be ok.
Meno can’t fuera the dolor. He hates the hair and wants to throw out all the mirrors. Gogo surprises him with hair dye. She knows how to use it even though he doesn’t. He’ll look 10 years younger, well maybe three. He agrees to let her try.
Pato suggests a trip for all of them boys over the weekend and of course they are thrilled. Candi calls, at just the right time to propose her trip idea, and Chava says nope sorry I can’t I’m going with Dad. Candi remarks that he doesn’t have permission and to that he says the hell I do and hangs up. (OK, well maybe not in those exact words). Pato asks him what that was all about…
Pau is chatting with Roci in her room when Santi busts in and Pau gets all miffed as she was talking to her daughter (read spreading poison) he drops his outing plan and Pau says nope she has too much homework. He tells her to go to her room and give him some peace. She tells him not to talk bad to her. Roc believes yes, he was rude. Caught.
Gogo puts on dye for Meno, she gets a call from Arturo and turns into a pubescent girl chatting him up for hours. Meno freaks out that his hair will be in trouble.
Candi is typing her column and Santi shows up with a light bulb. This must be some kind of inside joke, he uses it to massage her…and they chat about their outing to the park.I'd be afraid that thing would break in my hand. Thanks gosh they have like monsters and little wooden guys with faces on them...
Split screen expose of parenting skills.
He makes comments here about Corico and Cornelio and these went over my head.
Meno comes out with a towel covering his head so we know the tinting outcome is not going to be good.
Of course when it finally comes off his hair is cherry red. He makes the remark that she has made him look like one of RBD…Christian for sure…
Candi and Santi accidentally on purpose meet in the park, I couldn’t tell which one.
Meno is at breakfast and wearing a bandana. Charly makes fun of him that he looks like a gypsy and she thinks he looks like Zorro and he wants to see what Pa’s hiding. Gogo takes off the hat and Meno yells for Charly not to laugh.
Pato goes to pick up Beto at Sole’s and runs into Raul who has a great realtionship with Beto, and Beto wants him to come along with them. Things get awkward for Raul and Sole runs interference taking Beto to collect his things. Raul asks Pato for some time to chat.
Kids want to ride horses and Santi knew this because there is just something about horses and kids. Candi is surprised and we see everyone mount up. New words suki suki show up.
Ok what’s weird here is Pato was supposed to be picking up Beto, but the next thing you know they are in a café having coffee or something. Raul wants for them to become friends and chats with Pato about Sole and Beto they are great and he’s jealous right, and Pato says maybe a little.
Kids decide they are having a great time…should they let their parents marry after all? Yeah speaking of parents where are they? Chava knows, they brought us here to abandon us!!!
Raul thinks outside of the box and tells of his sad days after his wife passed and that he thinks Pato might be wanting Chava to live with him because he wants Candy to live with him. He essentially says that he was sad for so long and wouldn’t let himself be happy, but once he decided to let go, he became happy. That’s a big hint. He wonders if Pato is really still in love with Candi.
Kids mull over their new freedom and Roc wants to go home maybe but Chava thinks they could stay there and work to make money, maybe renting out the horses. The parents finally show up and the kids give them hugs but then want to know why they were going to abandon them.
Pato tells his side. Yep he’s still in love. He thought she was dead and then he found out she’s alive, and gave him a son no less. He doesn’t want to give the divorce, he was given hope to be with her.
Meno is behind a closed door and won’t come out until his hair grows out. Gogo and Charly try to extract him. Finally Go guilts him that he’s not responsible after all, and turns out vanity is more important. This works and he emerges with his bandana still on.
S & C wonder where the kids got this idea. They think it must be the TV, Chava says no it’s real life. Candi wants to know who told them that and in unison they say someone… Santi and Candi look at each other and immediately decide it must be Pau. Ya think? This will be fun.
Pau is pissed off because she can’t find Rocio and she barges in on Lu who is chatting with Fede on phone. Lu is less than sympathetic and tells Pau they left, and so sad you weren’t invited. Pau wonders why folks wake up so early on Sat! Because they are not part vampire like you maybe???
More park scenes riding ATVs…no handed with no helmets...never happen in litigious USA… rowing in a boat and fishing all in the same body of water it seems. Rocio is the only one who caught a fish.
Pato chatting with Beto who wishes Chava was there and complains that he let Chava go with his Mom.
Back at the park the kids go swimming with adult life vests on that clearly swallow them.
They all jump on into the river on a swing except Chava.
The funny thing is when they get home they have none of their swimming stuff or anything with them.
Ok, here’s where they screwed up. I kept sitting there saying…don’t do it …don’t do it….shut up!!!! Ugh, Santi and Candi say, see, we all went out together to show you how much fun the four of us can have, just like a family. Oh no you di’n’t !!!! Rule one of manipulating children…NEVER TELL THEM WHAT YOU ARE DOING, DUHHH!!!!! Of course our young geniuses forget about all the fun and focus on the funny that has been put over on them and don’t like it one bit yelling we are not a family, you betrayed us and that‘s why you invited us!!! Ah, another opportunity for practicing parenting skills arises. Hmmm….

And Candy is surely the "estupidest" of all. I think Santiago would have let it go by but she kept looking at him like, "G'wan...tell 'em." So he did and that's when it hit the fan.
Loved the photos and also loved your mid-point rant about El Secreto. I have a couple of students (and a husband) who are very much into that.
Without going whole hog, I think there are certain valid points. None of us grasp the totality of reality...just bits and pieces. We mostly live inside the world of our own thoughts. (Ever compare reactions to the same incident and notice how different people vary tremendously in their analysis of what went down?) So it makes sense to tend your thoughts, weed out the negative ones (just in case it's true that we attract what we fear the most) and endeavor to think in the most positive, constructive and kindly way possible.
That being said, you still listen to your instincts when you sense that someone is up to no good, the situation is dangerous, or your health needs tending.
Anyway, that's my middle of the road take on it. And it's what I tell myself when I awake at 3 am worrying about my adult children. (Ay yi yi, WHEN will I ever learn?)
Loved the pictures - you always pick the most perfect ones.
Khalilah, I thought your take on Candy was spot on: "If she doesn't get a handle on Chava, her life is really going to be an infierno once the hormones hit him!"
I came in on the end and everyone was having so much fun swinging and singing. And then...Oh dear, when will Candy learn??
Judy, your comments were so insightful (as always). Consciously or not we do "ive inside the world of our own thoughts." And yes, we should be kind and compassionate in our thoughts and deeds.

Bonine and Dramamine are over-the-counter, I think Scopolamine is prescription only but Carlos can probably confirm that.
OK I'm going to read Kris's recap now...
I'm looking for Pato to grow up a bit, and for goodness sakes, enough of that super hero crap with the boys. And while your at drop piojoso and not sexy from your vocabulary altogether. Points to Hortensia for the way she announced Pato's presence by mocking the piojo thing.
Poor Meño. From his point of view I'm not sure which is worse, the credit card thing or the hair.

I was horrified to see how those lifejackets didn't fit the kids. It looked like they are designed to drown children, not save lives.
Go Horti for mocking Pato piojoso. That was funny.
How ironic that Pau called Candy a wicked witch. Say what? Mira la burra hablando de orejas!
Hee hee, another hilarious recap from Fuego de Rosca de Reyes. Your pictures were great; I especially liked the one of Santi/Rocio on the rope swing and Meno in his do-rag.
Oh my Carlos, two scop patches at once? I would be hallucinating for sure. Maybe I ought to give it another try. (Joke)
Carlos
And, Meno, darlin', wash your own hair!!
I liked the scene at the park. Santi is a natural kid but knows how to be a grown up in charge. Candy is getting better about being in charge but still has a long way to go.
Maybe Santi should give the parenting classes at the institute?
The principal was way off! More so called expert advice from someone who is suppose to know better but doesn't.
Poor Meno, he needs to run down to the nearest beauty salon.
Those boxes of hair color are not that difficult. No way would he have had the red streaks.
Interesting the comments on sea sickness. Even car rides bother me so I avoid boats all together. The older I get the worse it gets, sigh.
Carrie L.
BTW, any idea what "Suki suki" means? Maybe just a "giddy up" sound? Also thanks for the info on "RBD", too.
Judy, I'll send you the proportions I use for pickling beets for red beet eggs. If anyone else wants them I can post it here.
I'm trying to imagine their blended household after the wedding. Chava will bristle at any type of correction from Santiago, so he'll need to hold back quite a bit. But Candy lets Chava get away with murder, which will drive Santi nuts if they're in the same household, especially when Rocío starts trying the same crap and gets angry because Chava can and she can't.
The most noticable thing about Santiago's parenting is that he never forgets that he is the one in charge, and Roc is a child. There are things children should not watch on TV, decisions they are not permitted to make (like where she will live), conversations they will not be involved in, and questions that he will answer alone with her. He always showers her with love and respect, but he never forgets that he's the father.
Carlos
ITA with everyone about the bad advice of the school principal, and that Candy and Santi blew it by telling the kids what they did. Just as with a movie or a concert, people remember the ending the most, it influences their entire view of the show (or outing). So S&C should have quit while they were ahead, or always leave them wanting more (to use a few more cliches).
I really hope some of what Raul said to Pat sinks into Pat's brain, but apparently it has to get through a lot of seaweed first. Pat seems a little soggy, he's always crying, his hair is sort of like a mop, maybe HE needs a new look!
I watch this show off and on if I can. Some of the interesting recaps and episode if I miss it, I go into YouTube to see what happened for me. I can't make up sometimes because I have a class that goes into 6:20pm at least three times a week. I sometimes get the endings of the episodes.
I have some questions that I hope you, faith viewers and commenter, can ask for me.
(1) Why is Chava acting up some much?
(2) Why is he so against his mom and Santi to get married? I know that he loves Patricio and wants to hang out with him. He could still do this.
(3) Is Patricio saying things to Chava to discourage him with his mother and Santi?
(4) Is it only Paulina is scheming and hiding the whole thing to split Santi and Candy?
(5) Why in the hell would Paulina want to do this - she is with multiple men now - is she one of those women who have to have multiple partners to be happy? I seen her with Mario - supposed dad of Rocio??? in bed and out, and then there is Gambino - saw that she slept with him too.
(6) I am witness the difference in Chava and Beto - I wonder as to why? Is Soledad a better mother and have great parenting skills?
(7) We see how more quickly Beto bonds with Raul. Yes, Beto was hesitant at first, but came around after talking with his mother. Beto gave Raul a chance and really bonded after the Bowling game I think. What did Soledad do or what made this happened?
(8) I wondered if Soledad was right when she said that Patricio favored Chava more and Beto witnessed this. I wonder if this has something to do with it? Beto didn't get the same amount of attention and connection?
(9) Or maybe Beto is better raised child than Chava?
To me, Soledad has come ahead after finally let go of Patricio. She and Raul finally I see will develop a relationship and eventually with Beto and then marriage I guess. I thought I heard Raul mention this?
All of you that said the institute need ongoing Parenting classes or Parenting Skills classes and maybe support group for parents I totally agree. Candy needs to sign up.
What is worst with The bottom line which is for Patricio to have joint custody of Chava with Candy and to have Chava lives with him for the time being. Kids grow up - Chava will mature and come to see how it is really. Candy would still come to visit Chava. Chava might want to come back to his mother later on. In real live, Divorced Parents sometime have to make these difficult decision where someone get hurt and loses. This wouldn't be the end of the world for them either way it comes out. Besides this, Candy will more likely to have more kids with Santiago anyway.

I thought it was funny when Pat was talking to Raul, wondering why Beto is taking the idea of a stepfather so much better than Chava. Aside from Pau's interference, I think one reason is that Beto has one parent who acts like a parent. Chava just has Party Padre Pato and Clueless Candy.
I sort of thought the school lady was being sarcastic when she asked Candy if she was going to cancel the wedding.
Mike. I was frankly surprised to hear them say it. Now. In keeping with different realities, in my reality (from back in the day) "Suki suki" was an exclamation of carnal admiration, a piropo of sorts. There's even a song with "Suki suki" in the lyrics: Groove Me, by King Floyd. Here's the link: http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/beautifulgirls/grooveme.htm So, there, Mike, for whatever it's worth! Glad you brought it up?

It can't be the other way. The novela is only a month from ending, and they usually broadcast it in Mex less than a week after they complete filming all the parts of an episode. So the older-kid scenes could not have been shot late. It must be that the younger-kid scenes were ALL shot early. Does that make sense?
Don't forget that I NEED ONE next Tuesday. Paula was just going to post a header and then everyone could comment. But you could always try writing a recap. Your comments are always interesting, juicy, colorful and downright hilarious. I think you'd be awesome.
Think about it, amiga.
The first time Maggie of Cuidado did it, she simply raced to the computer during each ad and wrote up a synopsis in the comment section. Then raced back to the tv. Then wrote some more. Once she realized she could do it, she became a regular.
You know how it is. The "first time" is always painful...but once you get the hang of it, you love it! Right?
Killing me on the seasick discussions. I tell you what. I am literally dizzy now, scrolling through these things. Yes, really...not kidding at all. I had to collect myself after reading these. If I scroll too long quickly on the net I get seasick.
That being said, I DO NOT get sick on boats if I am above deck breathing fresh air. I get sick in cars, smallish planes, and everything else that moves, but not a boat if I am outside. Inside is another story.
Oddly, sometimes after I am on a boat and have been fine, once I am back on land I get dizzy and feel like I'm still moving. Anyway, point is, yes, being outside and walking the deck will definitely help. I can not take meds because they have made me feel worse - haven't tried scop but maybe I should, including the double ear version ;)!!
Ah yes, Didn't mention it but Horty was funny with the piojoso comment. And the recurring "tengo miedo" gag continues. I also liked the line "actor wanna be" from Candi and his response she maybe would like Rulli...I suspect that refers to the upcoming novela starring him maybe? Depends, I guess, because this show was sooo long ago now.
Anyway, thanks all...
Khalilah
I can tell you that the reason Chava has been acting up so much is that Paulina has been working behind the scenes to make him dislike and distrust Santiago; also working behind the scenes to put Rocio "off" Candy. So far her witchy strategy has been effective. Her end goal is to get Santiago back.
Mario has been dispatched after it was revealed that he was responsible for Gambino's fathers' death. He was supposedly killed but actually escaped the country.
Gambino, with his knowledge of Paulina's involvement in Mario doing the surgery, blackmailed her into being his mistress. Then when he found out she didn't really kill Mario, he was going to shoot her himself but she sicced. the cops on him.
In most telenovelas, as you know by now, there are sneaky men or women trying to keep the two protagonists apart...and they're successful right up until the last episode or so and then we frustrated viewers get "a brief glimpse of heaven" and then whoosh, off to another telenovela.
Calling this an addiction is right on. Lots of "lows" and "withdrawal symptoms" and the "highs" are all too brief and much too far apart.
Someday we can all reform and get together in a 12-step group and laugh at ourselves. But first, let's work on our español some more!
1)Why is Chava acting up some much?
PAU keeps telling them nasty stories and makes Candi out to be evil
(2) Why is he so against his mom and Santi to get married? I know that he loves Patricio and wants to hang out with him. He could still do this.
SEE Answer to #1...he actually liked Santi until Pau started with puppets shows and the like about how when parents marry someone else they abandon their kids and so on. He wants his parents to be together.
(3) Is Patricio saying things to Chava to discourage him with his mother and Santi?
Not really, he's been pretty good about not saying things in front of the kids, but he does give Candi a bit of a hard time about wanting Chava to live with him because he thought the mafia was after Chava to hurt Santi...really the mafia was after him to hurt Pato's dad, but apparently that's all been resolved now and the mafia guy is in jail so that's the end of it. Hmmm....
(4) Is it only Paulina is scheming and hiding the whole thing to split Santi and Candy?
Pretty much with the exception of above re Pato and the suspected mafia ties.
(5) Why in the hell would Paulina want to do this - she is with multiple men now - is she one of those women who have to have multiple partners to be happy? I seen her with Mario - supposed dad of Rocio??? in bed and out, and then there is Gambino - saw that she slept with him too.
Don't know...Judy told you why she's with Gabino, blackmail.
I think she's trying to get Santi only to keep him away from Candi now out of spite and because she's done with Mario. She slept with Mario a while back also because of blackmail. Really, she is a plot thickener as Mario is gone now, but maybe he's in NY and she can't go back or else he'd be there again. Who knows.
(6) I am witness the difference in Chava and Beto - I wonder as to why? Is Soledad a better mother and have great parenting skills?
I think it's attributed to that Paulina influence, she doesn't mess with Beto really, she doesn't care about his situation.
(7) We see how more quickly Beto bonds with Raul. Yes, Beto was hesitant at first, but came around after talking with his mother. Beto gave Raul a chance and really bonded after the Bowling game I think. What did Soledad do or what made this happened?
Ask Beto...no real clue here except that Raul was really good to him and Beto has no mal influencia of Pau to contend with.
(8) I wondered if Soledad was right when she said that Patricio favored Chava more and Beto witnessed this. I wonder if this has something to do with it? Beto didn't get the same amount of attention and connection?
Could be...she was jealous of Pato's desire of Candi and implicated his treatment of her son versus Candi's son in that. I don't think we ever really saw that to be the case, it was just Sole being jealous because she too was in love with Pato and felt he was ignoring her and hence her son had less time with him.
(9) Or maybe Beto is better raised child than Chava?
We haven't been shown that at all really, only that Pau has a hand in it all.
Thanks for your patience!
But as for Chava, he adored Santi up until Pat came into his life. Early on, Chava was trying to get Santi into their family. But he met Pat in #43, and in #45 he ordered Santi to stop kissing his mama. "I have a father now."
Thanks to JudyB, Fuego de Resca de Reyes, and Paula H. for answering some or all my questions. Thank you for your insides and views. Your response really has help me.
I was also enlighten with what Julia commented and said . . . "I thought it was funny when Pat was talking to Raul, wondering why Beto is taking the idea of a stepfather so much better than Chava. Aside from Pau's interference, I think one reason is that Beto has one parent who acts like a parent. Chava just has Party Padre Pato and Clueless Candy."
Thanks to all for your responds and enlightment.
I will try to comment now and then when I can. I am a regular at Cuidado con el angel and try to comment daily. I am back by then that is why.
Thanks all and Good Night!!
