Una Familia Con Suerte #101-102 Mon 1/30/12
Pepe has invited Enzo to ask about why he hid moni's mom, but chela comes up and now she's willing to tal to him. He wants to place himself at her orders, and begs for help - he needs her.
Moni-Freddy. Fred feels so alone. He confesses that he loves Ana (his vengeance-pepe plan failed). Moni, predictably, says he has to fight for love. Freddy seems genuinely repentant.
Chela gently hands Enzo some coffee, and they're looking nicer. BUT he asks her help with a moni issue. She advises that he talk to Violeta. and tell Moni the truth. He keeps laying on the compliments. Tender gaze, strength of character, etc, he's making some headway.
Tomas calls Panch to let him know that lupe wants to die.
Pina and Ado are miserable, going over the betrayals, when some godawful mariachis show up with cha-cha. worst sound ever, says pina. he's bringing her a rooster.
Enzo finally admits to Moni that he's not her Dad. We get a dramatic noise and a zoom-in. He goes on to tell her he doesn't know the real dad. She flounces off, to Pepe, who is very sweet. He has some good advice (Enzo raised you)
Lupe is flash-backing to the wedding death. Pancho bursts in, turns on the lights, wakes her up and says "are you better yet?" Pancho and Rebe are basically yelling at her about how much she has to live for and how young she is and stuff. Not how I'd initiate a suicide watch. Then he grabs her head and makes her promise.
Cha-cha are dancing below ado's window, and Chato yells/sings SO LOUD. Pina continues to grill Ado re: betrayal, but lets her on the balcony when she hits him in the head with a flower-pot to "stop that big-nose dog from barking"
Candi and Vins are getting a suite. He tells her not to believe that he's married.
Chacho rubs his lollipop on Chato's face. He wakes up with another cheap-tv-gag-favorite, amnesia. Chacho tries to wave the lollipop in AdO's face to calm her down.
Enzo calls Violeta, gets frustrated. Chela walks in, and all of a sudden she CARES ABOUT HIM? Didn't she chew him out last time they met?
Fred shows up with a huge bunch of flowers for ana, has an awkward run-in with Chela and Enzo
Vins and Candy are drinking MORE champagne. do they ever wear anything else. She's being a bit selfish. They play cute game of chase around a column, and then smooch. Vins is about to burst. They do it.
Fred/Ana: Fred says he'll be totally honest. Ana says what a miracle, where's the Virgin Mary?
Enz and ridiculous Amazon moni's mom. Enzo is mad... NOW you want this daughter now that's she's mature and cool? She says her mistake was leaving HIM. him: it's been twenty years. are you crazy. she: life's giving us another chance. She moves in, rubs him, and tries for a kiss. She looks kind of intimidating and he looks short and small.
Fred is not having the easiest time convincing Ana that he's telling the truth. He pulls the dead-friend card, and she storms off (not without snagging the flowers: yoink!).
Pancho is in bed with lupita to try comforting her. In the morning she is greeted by the whole gang in her room. A discordant accordion and a dog thrown at her face. But where's Candy?
Vins walks in, Pina smells the perfume, and runs off as he gets in bed. She has a plan.
At Avon, Vins gloats to Naldo.
Moni tells dad that he must have been afraid to let her date because he didn't want her to know the truth. Then she tells him how much Pepe said he must love her. Very sweet.
Candy is back in the dayglo. Pina shows up with proof of pregnancy. WTF?

Maybe Temo's too young to really get it, and Ana's too self-absorbed to care about anyone else's emotions, but Pepe should know better. Her husband JUST DIED. Stop ordering her to cheer up!
If it had been months and she was still lying in bed crying all the time, it would be appropriate to intervene (maybe by suggesting counseling, not by blasting her with accordion and cheers), but they're all, "well, the funeral's over, are you happy yet?" So insensitive.
I don't normally condone either violence or amnesia plots, but I cheered Pina for chucking the potted plant at Chatty's head. Now I hope he forgets to ever come back.
I liked how they quickly settled the situation, that Enzo is Moni's father, regardless of where she got her DNA.

Maybe we need a new name for Frauddie. He is not so much of a Frauddie anymore. I still like the Fraidy Freddy name for him, cause that seems to fit him. I like he brought Ana flowers and apologized profusely and said he loved her. I don't blame her for looking like she didn't believe him, but she kept the flowers anyway. lol.
Loved Enzzo and Chela together. I liked the soft sweet touches he gave her. And she finally stopped calling him Transeti. Now it is Senor Rinaldi lol. I have a question. Why do they address Chela as senora instead of senorita? Or is senorita only for the young?

In the beginning I couldn't stand Pina's ramblings but ever since she showed a warm/hot side with Tomas I've begun to enjoy her and right now its sad the mess she is in.
The Candy/Vince thing is getting tiresome.
Pepe saved the day for Enzo, lets hope he appreciates it. Not sure what the Amazon adds to the story.

Thanks Ezra. What is up with Violeta blowing hot and cold with Enzo? What does she want? Instant family-- husband and daughter. It doesn't even sound like she and Enzo married the first time round.
I'm also glad that he took Chela's advice and beat Violeta to the punch in telling Moni the truth. Not only did he raise a child that wasn't his biologically, he is the one who convinced Violeta not to get an abortion and decided to take on the full responsibility for the baby, despite only being a car washer at the time. He obviously made some huge sacrifices to support Moni and then get to the point where he was providing such a good life for her.
I thought it was sweet that Pancho cuddled Lupe to sleep and that he and Rebe watched over her. But that wake-up party was too damn much, and Lupe's face said as much. They need to let her grieve. I agree. If the depression continues for months on end, then get her some professional help. But let her breathe!
Well, Candy can't claim that she and Vince aren't having an affair now. Hmmm....

So much good advice given in this episode. Chela told Enzo he needed to tell Moni the big secret himself. Moni told Freddy it would be good for him to have to put effort into something for once, and if he failed, at least he would know he'd done everything he could. Pepe told Moni that Enzo must have loved her very much to take care of her when it must have been VERY difficult for him, and thus he's earned the father title. Pina told Ado to steer clear of that loser Chato.
Yet they fail Lupita. All this waking her up and yelling at her. It just shows how good and noble she is that she didn't scream at them all and ask what is wrong with them.

Chato was just faking that he didn't know who Ado was and joking around because he was mad at Ado, thinking she was the one who threw the flower pot at his head. I had a good laugh when Pina did that.

Thank you for the succinct yet snarky recap. I am so new to this one and my feelings for the characters are all over the place: Thursday I felt bad for Pina, but less so last night. Yeah I know she's the wronged party but your baby is not a pawn/weapon. I agree with everyone IRT the wake up party--too early. I am completely unimpressed with Mamazon.
Mamazon. Good one! I can totally understand why Pepe and everyone stare at her chest. It's so oiled up and shiny! And overexposed! I'm not an ogler of that sort of thing but even I could hardly look away, I was so curious as to how and why she goes for that high-gloss sheen, and doesn't she get her clothes all oily?

I was kind of mad at Pancho for continuing to berate Enzo when he walked in and saw that Enzo and Monica had obviously been having an emotional conversation. It was so obvious that then was NOT the time to be bringing up their drama with each other. I mean, the man's eyes were swollen and red with tears and he still was polite enough to greet Pancho and Rebe and offer his condolences. Snark at him all you want when the circumstances and his attitude call for it. But there's a time and a place for everything. The Lopez fam doesn't quite understand that. I also thought that Ana was being a bit too snarky to Freddy considering his best (and only) friend had just died. She didn't have to forgive him and take him back. Just tone it down and use the opportunity to express condolences.

Now Candy has a real dilemma, she is a decent person, so I think that is the end of the relationship, at least for now, but we still have about 100 episodes to go.
We are also finding out Enzo is a decent person, so this is really going to impress Chela.

I told hubs about the sparklyboobs today during while I was describing my "which TN to add to my schedule" quandary. He voted for UFCS over El Talisman. -__-
Sara, there is definitely more boobage in UFCS (so far). However it looks like we will have more than our fair share of bare midriffs and curvaceous abs and hips over in Fresno. You don't have to pick a telenovela, just a body part.
