Amar a Muerte, 11/8/18, Episode 8: Love is in the Air OR Black Butterfly Lady, Whose Spirit Did You Plop Into Eva?

Lupita and Juli arrive in Mexico City.
Juli still wonders what they are going to do…the city is huge, but Lupita has a
feeling that they will find her father.
·
Guil goes to see Val. He tries to motivate
her to take a shower or walk outside. She shouldn’t be locked up there. Val is
looking through social media and comments that there are so many people who
look so happy. Guil tells her that people upload pics of the life they wish
they had…not the life they really have. Val proposes a deal. He should stop
being so bitter and she will return to the university.

Beltrino calls the “Boss” who knows it’s
him despite the fact that Beltino doesn’t say a word. The Boss tells him he was
waiting for his call. The Boss threatens that his wife and daughter could die
and will not come back to life. As Beltino threatens him, Amparo listens.
·
Johny talks to Susana about the assignment
he asked her to do. He just wanted an objective interview to show the
personalities of the individuals. They argue about how she should do the
interview when Mateo approaches. Johny tells her he has the last word and he
wants the interview by the next morning.
·
Guil arrives to work and sees Renata
putting flowers in his office. He thanks her, but he isn’t a fan of flowers and
takes them out. He is sorry to disappoint her and tells her she can leave. She starts
to walk away but then returns and tells him off because he is so ungrateful and
bitter. Guily, don’t you just hate it when he sexatary comes into heat at the
wrong time...or did you not notice?

Lupita and Juli walk along. Lupita never thought
she would return to this city since there is no one there left that she knows.
She then remembers someone she knew from high school who might help them.
·
Jacobo and Lucia drive back from the
cemetery. She tells him that she thinks it was stupid of him to tell her that
Leon was not live. When he interrupts her, she tells him she doesn’t like him
interrupting She then thanks him for protecting her from the reporter; so he
tells her he will guard her as if he was guarding his own life He keeps looking
at her; so she tells him to stop looking at her so much and reminds him that he is still working on a trial basis.

Camilo talks to a peer who is telling him
that he had a patient who also had hallucinations; his name is Ricardo Guzman
and his file is in his computer. When Camilo sees Ricardo’s pic, he notices the
black butterfly on Ricardo’s neck.
·
Eva arrives and is greeted by Celvina.
When she asks for Lucia, Celvina tells her she went to the cemetery to see
Leon. When Eva wants to go into her father’s bedroom, Celvina tries to stop her,
but Eva reminds her that she is paid by the family, not Lucia.
·
Lucia talks to Jacobo about going to a
board meeting. When he mentions that they are boring, she tells him that it
surprises her that he is trying to make conversation with her as if they were
friends.
·
Guil is in his office and asks Renata When
he looks though it, he gets upset and goes to Johny’s office. Guil tells Johny
that he has been thinking about what Johny mentioned. There are two things Guil
has concluded: 1) he will continue working at the company, and 2) he thinks
someone has been stealing from his father for years. (Ohhh Guil better watch
his back!) JohnyBeCool tells him he thought the same thing. When Guil explains
how he found the info, Johny tells him his father would be happy to see him
working there. Jo tells him they need to figure out who the person is before
making an accusation.

Eva is frantically searching through the
closet looking for evidence that Lucia is a liar.
·
Lu arrives at the office and tells Jacobo
to wait for her there. He can have coffee and fill out some forms while he
waits.
·
Lucia stomps in and asks who sent the
cameraman to follow her. Jaramillo tells her they made the decision; they
thought it would be good publicity for her. Lucia tells them that the next time
they do something without her authorization, they will be fired.
·
Val goes in and asks Eva what she is doing.
After Eva tells her she should be helping her find evidence against Lucia, Val
tells her he shouldn’t be doing this. She misses their father too, but this is not
going to bring him back. Eva is frustrated and walks out on her.
·
Jacobo reads the paperwork he was given to
have access to the building. He watches as Johny berates an employee. When
Johny comes over and asks Jacobo what he is doing there, he replies that he is
waiting for Lucia.
·
Camilo calls Ricardo Guzman and is told by
the wife that he died 4 months ago. Camilo then tells her he is a doctor and
wants to ask her some questions about what happened to her husband. She tells
him that after what happened to her husband (the first time he died), he was
like a different man…talking about people they didn’t know. Camilo asks her how
he died the second time; so she tells him her husband died a horrible death…as
if his soul was being regurgitated. He first died of a heart attack and was
resuscitated...they thought it was luck, but it was more of a curse.

Beltino is thinking of when he buried the
money when Alicia comes in reproaching him for just sitting around doing
nothing. He tells her that his previous self was boring, but he now just wants
to have fun with his wife. Javi comes in and wants to go watch his friends play
ball. Beltino takes him despite Alicia’s objections.
·
Lupita and Juli arrive at Panchito’s
house. She reminds him they went to high school together and asks for his help.
The wife comes out and tell them that they have nothing right now; so Panchito
scurries back into the house. A little later, one of his kids comes out and
give Lupita a note …that is all his father can do.
·
Alacran wants to know if there has been
any progress from the distribution of Chino’s photo. When the men tell him
there has been nothing, Alacran tells them the expand the area of distribution.
·
Javi arrives at the park. His friends tell
him they need one more player so Beltino volunteers to play.
·
Leonchi looks at his portrait when he gets
a call from Camilo. After Leo gives him an update of what he has been doing and
tells him he almost told Lucia everything, Camilo asks him how he is feeling;
so Leo tells him he is well.
·
Beltino is playing with the kids when he
starts feeling woozy and breathless. As he collapses to the ground, he sees the
black butterfly, then SanMue…and the kids think he is dying. Javi quickly runs
to the car, gets the inhalers and helps Beltrino recover.
·
Jac sees Mat and tells him he thinks he is
the best reporter. Jacobo then mentions that the article Mateo wrote on Leon
and tell Mateo that he thinks that if Leon would have read it, he would have
been very proud of him. Lucia walks out in a hurry…her meeting was canceled so
she is leaving.
·
Javi tells Beltino that he has had asthma
all his life. Beltino wants to know what else he suffers from so Javi tells him
he has problems with pressure, his kidneys and might have diabetes. When Javi shares that
some of the kids make fun of him because of his illness, Beltino tells Javi he
will help him get better.
·
Renata tells Guilt ah someone from the
police department is waiting for him. The insector has some questions. He wants
tot know who was in Leon’s circle of good friends, but Guil can’t ell him much
because he wasn’t that close to his father. Inspector then asks about the
relationship with Johny, but Guil thinks if he suspects Johny, he is way off
(no, Guily, you’re the one that is way off!). Guil then talks about how his
father was not very close to him or his sisters. Inspector asks about Eva and
if she is capable of doing something against her father or Lucia. Guil gets
upset because the inspector is insinuating Eva had something to do with his
father’s death. Guil asks that he respect his family.
·
Mat is surprised to see Eva home so early.
HE wants to go out to the movies, but Eva has a meeting to attend.
·
Alacran and his goons play pool in a bar. Some
guy tells him about a man who made a ruckus there and was acting crazy…saying
he was Leon Carvajal. When Alacran shows him El Chino’s pic, the man confirms
that was the man who was there.
·
As they drove along, Lucia gives Jacobo
permission to speak freely with her; so he tells her that her husband’s company
is immense...her husband probably had the ideal person to lead at the company. Lucia
tells him that would probably be Johny. When Jacobo tells her that he thinks Leon
would be happy knowing that would head the company, Lucia tells him he is probably
the only one who thinks that…everyone else thinks he married Leon for his
money. Jacobo tells her he would overhear when Leon would talk about her…he
would talk very well about her and loved her very much.
·
Alacran tells his goon to payoff the man;
he needs to leave.
·
Lucia gets home and sees her room in shambles;
so Celvina tells her it was Eva.
·
Eva enters and looks around the apartment.
After she announces that she doesn’t like surprise meetings, Alacran comes out from the shadows and
asks how she would like to conduct business. After she tells him that the
question is offensive, they KISS!!! OMG! That sure came from left field!

This novela is moving extremely slow, and univision ending each episode so abruptly, doesn't help either...We need some spice in this story, something that will keep the audience on their seat...Johnny is a boring villain, and Eva is like a petty child, Lucia is lacking a backbone and Jacobo is just too milky...Right now, the only interesting couple is Renata and Guille...I will keep watching, in hope that things will start to heat soon. Thank you for recap the Rgv.

Just to clear up, Javi said that Beltran had problems with pressure not attention and that he also had problems with his kidneys

OC, I was thinking the same thing about the TN slowing down, but I rather like it. It gives me time to process everything that is going on and figure out the connections between the characters. We had been wondering how Alacran's character would evolve, abd, boy, were we given a surprise last night. I was blown over when he appeared in Eva's apartment and KISSED her! So now I'm am wondering, where and how did these two nuts meet???
I liked how the writer's sequenced the Camilo and Beltino scenes. Camilo finding out that Ricardo Guzman had a horrible second death put me on the edge of my seat when Beltino was started getting dizzy.
And oh those looks between Lucia and Jacobo. She's like, "Don't you dare..but please do!" Poor Leonchi, he is going to be devastated when he finds out about her betrayal. Message to Leonchi: I have a strong shoulder ^-^

Apparently, he has a whole bunch of health problems. Hence his diet, since he was a vegetarian who didn’t smoke or drink but el chino obviously didn’t know that. So he has high pressure problems, kidney problems, asthma, and he has diabetes

A big Friday Thank You to Ms Chik. Actually, not to be disagreeable with former posts, but I thought a lot happened in this episode. Especially Eva and Alac. WTF? Where did that come from? Was it even supposed to be in there or did the camera continue to roll after they finished this episode? YIKES. So I went to bed last night feeling like I needed to brush my teeth again.
And Butterfly Lady's little soul swap hobby looks like it causes some unexpected problem sometimes. 'Cause I was thinking, if she can do all this spirit shifting and bringing people back from Fry Daddy, can't she fix a case of asthma? Guess not. With Belt, maybe all that internal stuff is just too dam far from his brain. It is seventeen floors up ya know.
Boy LeonChi is treading on thin ice wandering around in his company and acting like he is maybe the unseen janitor who finally got promoted. Knows everyone, knows all their back stories, But don't know shit about his own kids. That is a black (butterfly) mark against him. So now we are beginning to see why the kids are all messed up, and we still don't know what happened to their Mother, and if they all have the same one.
In Ramon Eva looked like the perfect girlfriend, cute, slim and QUIET. Here with new makeup I thought she was smoking hot, though not as quiet, but now pewee, yuck, he can have her. Where are the writers going with this angle? They better not pull one of those tricks on us where it goes absolutely nowhere like they sometimes do.

OC, I replayed the Beltino/Javi scene THREE times and each time I heard "atención" yet high blood pressure makes so much more sense.
Kirby, is there a "Kill Me Now" card? And why, oh why, didn't someone suspect something waaaay earlier. Don't these companies have a massive financial department?? Beanie time??
Thanks for the great recap Rgv Chick...Lucia and Jacobo are extremely cute...I love the push and pull thing they have going on, they are giving me so much butterflies...I am not looking forward to today's episode, I saw the advances and I know that it will leave me sobbing.

So we are all on the same page, she for sure was not the first 'daughter-age' honey who had made a run at him. He is not a bad looking fellow for his age, slim and healthy, appears to know how to treat a woman, and stinking rich. So he has probably been fighting off Lucia types for years, how she wormed her way in is a mystery. BUT what he will not want to admit, especially to himself, is that he got hoodwinked by a former hooker.
So as they spent quality car time together, and the old Leon in the new body gets to see his wife from a different perspective, he is probably going to resist believing what would be plain as the nose on his face to anyone else.

I agree with you and Kirby that Guil, who thinks his dad's company is the worst could see money missing after two and a half days of work. Leon really didn't give him any credit: financial expert, Casanova extraordinaire and... he loves the poor food, like tamales and such.

I do have to wonder where this is leading... it's the first time this tn actually surprises me and I love it.
I also liked the fact that Camilo is investigating what is happening after the souls change bodies, sometimes down the line. I was afraid he was just going to be Leonchi's sidekick, but it looks like they are giving him stuff to do, too.
I'm all in for Lucia and Leonchi's chemistry. I'm so used to seeing A. Boyer with Rulli or Zepeda, it is such a breath of fresh air to watch her share screen time with another man. And what a guy she got!
