Sorry I'm so late. My hat is off to you, Kat, for getting great recaps done under less than optimal circumstances.
I was able to do Thursday recaps when I was on summer hours at work. It’s difficult to do regular Thursdays now that Summer is over. So, if you want Thursday and it’s available, why not take it. If we must go to a highlights and discussion format for Wednesday, I’m sure we can handle it.
Ale really screwed up with the witness. I was surprised.
IIRC, Ric Jr’s grandma wanted Ric Sr to stay away. Ric Sr realized it was for the best. Maybe the grandma should have left a letter for Junior explaining the situation.
I’m disgusted that they shot Miguel. I hope he lives. Didn’t Ale see Ramiro shoot? Miguel looked in that direction, too.
Poor David.
#42 – Part 1 of 2
In response to Mariana asking Gerardo if he arranged for Miguel to be shot, he says that she should be aware of all the enemies that candidates have. Flashing those blue eyes, he says he’d never resort to violence. He changes the subject and says some of this suspicion about him must come from that Dávalos reporter. He’s going to find him and…something.
Caye and Lucretia confront Memo about Ale having been shot.
Ale is dreaming and a bit delirious, talking in his sleep about Gonzalo Aguilar. Caye walks into his bedroom and, when he wakes, starts prying and poking about what he said in his sleep.
Amaranta gets Ric Jr. to shine her shoes while she tells him the full story about his father and mother.
Mari tells Pau how this whole thing feels to her like it’s happening all over again. [Yep. And the same slimy guy is behind both crimes.] She also tells Pau about Ernestina Aguilar thinking Gerardo’s behind it.
Pedro is in black tie in his hotel room and hears a knock on the door. It’s Ruben. Pedro wonders how he found him. Ruben calls him the Marqués and says he’s easy to find. Ruben: “If I talk, you’ll lose everything.” [Ruben hasn’t watched enough TNs. If he had he’d know you never threaten to reveal the secrets to the person who has most to gain by your death.]
David comes to see Ale. [But he’s in bed being grilled by Caye.] He tells Memo he wants to return to being a reporter on the newspaper. And he’s willing to write about his father.
Memo tells Ale and Viewerville that Miguel survived the surgery and is going to be all right. He also tells him about Hilario. [ITA, dondi, it’s unconscionable that Ale and Memo didn’t tuck Hilario away somewhere at Casa Conde.]
Josie comes to see Vicente to ally herself with him. She also harks back to the killing of Gonzalo Aguilar and that “they” will be looking for a scapegoat. [I think she’s reacting to what Felipe told her about Gerardo.]
Ernestina Aguilar has come with her daughter to thank the Count for saving Miguel. David is still there and convinces Lorena to be his girlfriend again.

#42 – Part 2 of 2
We get another great Sendel/Colunga scene. Gerardo arrives to see where the Count stands. He wonders why Joaquín was meeting with Miguel Aguilar when he has pledged his support to HIM. These two dance around each other verbally. Gerardo doesn’t dare try his blustering and bullying with the Count of Montenegro. He also asks if he saw the person who shot Miguel Aguilar. He also has the gall to say he’s sorry the witness to the President’s brother’s assassination was killed.
Mari is spending the night with Gabriela. She mentions Gabriela, David, and she might go to Europe or the U.S. for a while. Gaby won’t go anywhere without her father.
Reckless Romeo/Javier Gallardo again sneaks into Sofia’s bedroom through the window. She tells him he’s going to be a father. He’s overjoyed.
Ric Jr. comes back to Casa Conde, but doesn’t want to be called Ricardito anymore.
Josie is banging on Sofi’s bedroom door and furious it’s locked. Javier manages to get out. Josie is starting to grill Sofi about hearing a male voice when Sofi faints.
Pedro tells Ric he needs a plan to get rid of Ruben.
Paulina has brought the doctor she took Sofi to before. Josie starts grilling him, saying she thought the drug he prescribed was working. The doc drops the ball, saying he had to reduce the dosage (because of the baby although he didn't say that out loud). Pau frantically signals behind Josie’s back. After the witch leaves the room, the doctor says something about either Sofi or the baby possibly dying. [Why’d they have to write that into the plot?]
Javier tells his father about Sofi and the baby. He’s just overjoyed and fails to see the danger.
Cordelia approaches Mariana in the street and tells her that Gabriela is her child. She also says that she and Gerardo were lovers the whole year the Villareales lived in the Capitol.
A new Procurador General (Attorney General) has been sent by the President to look into the assassination attempt on Miguel. He’s come to meet with Gerardo, but he tells him the President specifically said Gerardo shouldn’t be involved.
Ale comes to see Miguel in the hospital. He tells him he has guards watching the hospital. He also tells him that Gerardo Villareal sent the assassin.
EPISODE#42:
Novelera: Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family!
Good job on the recap of last night's episode. I see that Javier luckily got out of Sofia's room through the window before Buji Joise barged in. I'm also wondering what was the point of putting in a health crisis regarding Sofia's pregnancy. I've got a gut feeling this will NOT end well!
Not shocked by Cordelia saying the obvious to Blabbermouth Mariana's face: Cordelia IS Gabriela's mother (ala Maury Povich style). Too bad we didn't get the audience cheering during this face-to-face meeting.
Ruben confronting Scumbag Pedro like that foreshadowing Ruben will be facing a deadly end! You want to bet Scumbag Pedro will frame Ric for the murder ?
Thanks very much, novelera, for this fine recap. I'm racing to be at an appointment in a few minutes, but I thought I'd try to offer some very brief comments before I leave.
I loved all your parenthetical comments and other remarks, such as your observation that Ruben hasn't watched enough telenovelas and your referring to Javier as "Rackless Romeo." You're quite right in observing that he's seemingly oblivious to the problems Sofia's pregnancy is likely to present. In one of your comments, you ask why they had to write the doctor's warning into the plot. I frankly was glad they did.
Arrgh, I see that I've got to end this comment now and leave for my appointment. Sorry. Thanks again for the recap.
Novelera, thank you for bringing us all the drama.
Lots of people are being hurt as Ale continues his vendetta with cold determination. What will he do if Mar or David are harmed ?
Gee, Caye just waltzes into Ale's bedroom ! Lock your door , Ale!
Cordelia Didn't waste any time confronting Mar with the news that Gabriella is her daughter .
Felipe appears to be hearing the call of the weasel blood as he keeps seeking out Pedro.
Ale is drawing Vic deeper and deeper into financial ruin. Susan
Great recap, novelera. Thanks so much. I’m cosigning all your asides.
What a difference between the two teen couples. What to do about Reckless Romeo Javier? This kid is dense. I feel as exasperated as Rodrigo.
Josie’s suspicions were aroused. Nothing passes by her. Maybe Pau can take Sofi away from SJ for better medical treatment as the Dr mentioned. That would buy time until Sofi turns 18. Nah, that would be too easy.
I loved the Sendel/Colunga scene, too. The look on Ale’s face as he listened to Gerardo’s lies.
Still waiting for Caye’s story to unfold. That’s more interesting to me than her obsession with the Count.
Will Gerardo feel the need to kill Cordelia?
What is Miguel going to do with Ale’s revelation?
My Friday recap will be up on Saturday.
Cordelia, now a widow, wants her daughter? I'm wondering if it's her daughter that she's really interested in.
Gabriela wants to stay with her father, who works (hustles/schemes/kills) all the time and spends scant time with her, instead of traveling to Europe or the USA with her loving mom who's alway there? Really? Okay, we need this in order for Mari to suffer more.
I enjoyed Amaranta talking Ric Jr into returning. Maybe she'll become a surrogate mother for him.
Anxious Felipe asks Gerardo, did you see the Count? Did you get any information from him? He didn’t see anything, Gerardo replies. He just saw the gun.
Gerardo is more concerned about Samuel Lopez Vernia, the new DA of SJ. The president sent him to investigate the attack on Miguel. Felipe panics that they are suspects now. Gerardo wants Felipe to calm down. He is confident he can handle the DA. He did it years ago and he can do it now.
Gerardo gives Ramiro a wad of bills and asks him to stay out of sight for a while.
Felipe thinks that Gerardo should give a speech condemning political violence. Gerardo is one step ahead and mocks Felipe. He already has David working on a speech. Felipe’s not happy.
David asks Ale if he can return to the paper. Ale wants to know what changed his mind. I thought I could blindly trust my father, David replies, but I can’t. If he’s behind the attack on Miguel Aguilar and everything else, I have a right to know and so do others. Ale follows up--why do you think he’s involved? David says Ernestina is convinced. Ale asks, and you?
Felipe says, David is just a kid. Let me handle it. Gerardo scoffs, that kid has more political savvy than you will ever have in your drunk life. Take care of the things you can handle. Felipe submits.
David wants the truth, not assumptions. Ale doesn’t want David investigating this, it’s too dangerous. He has another story for David. It could be one of the most important articles ever published in the Daily Mexican.
Gerardo comes to see Josie at her request. He doesn’t have much time, so she gets to the point. She knows he’s in a delicate spot after the attack on Miguel Aguilar. Gerardo wonders if this is an accusation. Relax, Josie replies, I know you’d never commit a crime. [liar, liar your broomstick is on fire] The attack will have a negative effect on your campaign. Gerardo plays clueless.
Josie explains, Miguel Aguilar will use the attack to gain sympathy, especially since his parents died the same way. Nothing pleases the masses more than a martyr. Josie says Felipe came up with a brilliant idea.
Gerardo wonders why Felipe said nothing about it. Maybe it’s because he thinks you don’t consider his opinions, Josie answers, but I hope you’ll consider mine. She offers to organize a dinner to raise funds for Gerardo’s campaign. The attendees can be convinced to become advocates for votes. Convince them that you are the best option, she says. Gerardo looks interested. Josie gives a nod to Felipe.
Sofi tells her mom she hasn’t had a seizure like that in a long time. She was so nervous over Josie’s questions. I’m afraid she will find out I’m pregnant, Sofi worries. Pau understands and is honest with Sofi—Dr Acuña said you have a high-risk pregnancy because of your condition. We need to go see him.
What is the risk, Sofi asks. Pau replies, he told me that if you continue with the pregnancy, there’s a possibility you or the baby could die. I couldn’t bear to lose you. I couldn’t bear for my baby to die either, Sofi responds, I don’t care if I have to die for him to live. Sofi is determined to have the baby.
Josie interrogates Nanny about her convos with Sofi. What has Sofi told you about Brendan and the upcoming wedding? Nanny says that Sofi keeps that private. Josie thinks Nanny is lying. Nanny babbles that Sofi only talks about school and her friends. Then she suddenly “remembers” that Sofi said she was excited about the wedding.
I thought I heard a man’s voice in Sofi’s room last night, Josie says. Nanny is aghast. How could you think that? The girl would never do that. Nanny avoids Josie’s gaze. Look at me, Josie commands. If I find out you’re hiding something from me, you’ll be in big trouble.
Pau tells Mari that Sofi has a high-risk pregnancy, and she had another seizure. She is terrified that Josie will find out. We told her that you recommended Dr. Acuña and he agreed to keep the secret.
Pau senses something wrong with Mari. This is too much, Mari admits, the attack on Miguel, Gerardo a suspect. And now Cordelia says she and Gerardo were lovers. Pau asks, who’s Cordelia? Mari explains they met in the capital and now she claims she’s Gabriela’s mother. Mari worries that Cordelia will take Gaby. Pau is stunned.
Junior is dusting the Count’s office. He comes across some coins. Memo is watching from the balcony and calls out, the Ricardo who went to my school was mischievous, but proud of his grandparents and good at fixing shoes. He would never take something that isn’t his. Junior is startled but replies, I wasn’t doing anything wrong, I’m not a thief.
I didn’t say that, Memo answers. I understand you’re upset with your father, but while you were in school, he knew he was your father and he never stopped caring about you. Memo adds that he met Junior’s mother. I will tell you about her if you promise to try to get along with your father. Estamos? Junior gives a reluctant nod yes.
Lucrecia meets Ruben. She asks about Pedro. Ruben bad mouths him again. Lu doesn’t want to hear it. Ruben says he will keep helping her, but he needs more money. He has a lead on Pedro and needs to travel. Lu forks over mucho dinero.
Mari recounts how Gerardo showed up one day with a baby. He said the mother had died. Pau puts it together. It was strange that you came back a year later with Gaby in your arms.
Mari says that Gerardo apologized many times. She mentions the irony of Gerardo unknowingly raising Ale’s son. And so she felt it was fair that she accepted the baby. Mari adds, when I held the girl in my arms, I couldn’t let her go. Gabriela is my daughter. Pau agrees but asks, why so many secrets? First David, now Gaby. Mari begs Pau not to judge.
Josie snoops around in Sofi’s room. She finds a gold case with the initials SDG. Hmm…whose initials are these? She finds a man’s handkerchief with the initials JG.
Mari brings her troubles to Ale. I’m here about something important. I need to know if my husband was behind the attack on Miguel. I have no one else to turn to. You helped me with Antonio. Please help me with this. Ale asks, are you sure you want the truth? I’m tired of secrets and lies, Mari replies, I want the truth no matter how much it hurts. Will you help me? He nods.
Josie questions Teresa Garcia while the girl waits for Sofi. She starts by flattering Tere, then continues, I want to talk because I’m worried about Sofi. You know she’s engaged, right? But I feel she has another suitor. Do you know anything?
Tere keeps the secret. Josie reminds Tere that lying is a deadly sin. It’s the eighth commandment. [ironic because Josie has broken them all.] Tere understands but says she hasn’t seen Sofi with anyone else. Josie shows her the hankie. Tere looks shocked. Do you know these initials, Josie asks. Tere stays loyal to Sofi, but looks very nervous.
Vi catches Dolores reading a romance novel. Dolores claims she’s an adult and she should “know everything”. No need to know, Vi scolds, if your dad finds out you’ll be in big trouble. Dolores wants to know how important “that” is in a relationship. Vi dispenses advice. For a woman, it’s important to have a good husband because he will be with you for the rest of your life. If you marry a bad husband, you’re stuck with a bad lover forever. She adds, don’t tell your dad any of this.
Mari hates living a life full of deceit. She’s suffocating. Ale tells her to calm down and take it step by step. He asks, why do you think Gerardo is behind the attack? Mari says Ernestina is convinced. And she can’t trust Gerardo. He’s lied to her more than once.
I discovered something very serious, Mari says, I shouldn’t tell you this. Ale wants Mari to trust him. He will not betray her. It’s about my daughter, Gabriela, Mari replies. Gerardo had an affair. I’m not Gaby’s biological mom. Ale is stunned.
David sits down with his dad. Gerardo is pleased with the speech David wrote. Only a couple of tweaks needed. He hands his son a drink to celebrate. David doesn’t like to drink. Gerardo wants David to accompany him at all his events. The party thinks it’s a good idea to get the young people to vote. David tries to beg off. Gerardo is ticked. What’s more important than supporting your father? [We can answer that for David—it’s unmasking his father!] Gerardo pressures David into accepting.
Mari continues her revelation. Gerardo told me it was a woman who died in childbirth. I wasn’t going to leave the baby on her own. I adore her. I love her. She’s my daughter. Mari gets teary—a woman showed up claiming to be Gaby’s bio mom and wants her back. Mari doesn’t want to lose Gaby.
Pedro proposes to Dolores. Dolores’ eyes light up as Pedro places a big rock on her finger. Then she looks disappointed. Dolores remembers Vi’s words about marrying a bad husband. The ring doesn’t fit her finger, it’s too small. She drops the ring into Pedro’s hand. He tells her he will get another one but he’s still waiting for her answer. Dolores replies, get another ring and we’ll talk. She gives one of her rings so he can get the correct size. She leaves, he shakes his head.
Ale shares Mari’s revelations with Memo. Memo notes that Ale didn’t investigate Mari for fear of finding out things that would hurt him. He overlooked the fact that Gaby isn’t Mari’s daughter. Ale thinks this is irrelevant. Mari still married Gerardo and they had David.
Memo gives props to Mari for her extraordinary kindness. He tells Ale, now she wants your support to find the truth. This is the moment you’ve been waiting for. Ale agrees but he claims he doesn’t have enough evidence. With the witness’ death, my plan isn’t the same, Ale says. Memo sighs. I was so close, Ale laments, now everything is complicated again. Gerardo has the president’s backing and remains powerful.
You should remove Mariana and David from your plan, Memo suggests. Think about it. If Gerardo is capable of those atrocities, they could be in danger. Ale knows. I’ll be honest, he tells Memo, I removed them from my plan a long time ago. But if I leave Mariana on her own now, I’d be abandoning her. She will want to investigate on her own. When I saw her suffering, I just wanted to hug her, comfort her, tell her I’d do anything for her… but I can’t.
Felipe is at the hotel restaurant, drinking and complaining to Pedro he’s being sidelined for David. Felipe calls Pedro out for not listening to his complaints. Pedro apologizes for being preoccupied. He says he’s tired of the food at the hotel. Felipe invites him to stay with the Zambranos for a few days. Pedro spots Ruben entering the restaurant.
Vic is furious at Dolores for rejecting Pedro. Dolores shouts back that the ring didn’t fit. Vic says that her husband will know her size once they are married. You need to marry him now! Dolores is fixated on the ring issue. Vic is frustrated with his stubborn daughter. You made me pressure him to marry you, and now you reject him!
Dolores stands firm. She’s a lady. She has standards. [She’s a spoiled brat!] Vic gives her two choices: stay single or marry the Marquis to keep her life of luxury. Dolores wants to know why. Dear old dad admits he has a severe financial crisis. This marriage is the only way to prevent their ruin. Dolores accuses her father of caring more about money than her happiness. [cue world’s smallest violin.] She pushes him out of the way and storms out. [These two deserve each other.]
Felipe is happy that Pedro has come to stay at the hacienda. Pedro is grateful for having a great friend like Felipe, but he asks a favor. Sure, Felipe replies. Ruben appears and the smile disappears from Felipe’s face. I had to bring my assistant, Pedro explains.
Tere tells Sofi about the interrogation and says she kept the secret. Sofi says Josie questioned her about the hankie, too, and she denied knowing how it got there. Tere wonders how the hankie got there. Sofi admits that Javi visits her. Tere thinks Sofi is crazy for taking the chance. Sofi says there’s no other option.
Sofi asks Tere, do you think grandma suspects Javier? Tere says Josie heard a man’s voice. Josie is suspicious. Tere is scared of her. Speaking of the devil, Josie enters the room. Josie suggests the girls go for a walk on this beautiful day. How about cake from La Francesa? If you go, bring me one. She tells them about the dinner she’s having in support of Gerardo. Sofi agrees to buy the cake. [Josie must be planning a trap.]
Josie finds Ruben snooping around her office. Who the hell are you? Ruben says he’s the Marquis’ assistant. Pedro passes by and sees them.
David is upset about agreeing to support his father. Mari tells him he’s a good son and it’s okay to put his love for his father above everything. David says he made a mistake. He feels dirty for being an accomplice. His father wants to show him off like a circus monkey.
Mari asks David to calm down. David wonders what’s up with his mom. Mari admits she has doubts just like his. David asks, should I investigate if my father is a murderer? Mari begs him not to do that. Don’t provoke Gerardo, she says, let me handle it. Trust me. She says to stick with Gerardo, so he doesn’t get suspicious. We don’t know how he would react.
Pedro takes Ruben outside and scolds him. Ruben says he was just curious. Pedro asks if he knows the Zambranos. Only by name, Ruben replies, they don’t even remember me. Rich folks don’t look at us. Pedro tells Ruben, next time wait in the stable for him.
Ruben remembers Pedro’s aunt. She was nice. He asks Pedro, what happened to her? She ended up taking the blame for Beatriz’s death, right? Poor thing, she was unjustly sent to jail. Pedro warns Ruben to shut up and not to talk about her here.
Pau comes to see the Gallardo’s at their request. They talk about Sofi’s pregnancy. Pau wonders how they found out. Rodrigo says Javier found out and told them. Leticia notes that Javier is happy, and they are, too. Rodrigo says, we will get them out of Mexico as soon as Sofi turns 18.
Pau isn’t so sure about that anymore. She appreciates the Count’s support but doesn’t understand why he wants to help. She doesn’t fully trust him Rodrigo says he knows the Count well and assures her he can be trusted. Pau can’t shake the feeling. Sofi and Javier have no connection to the Count. What does he want?
Leticia understands but says the most important thing is to stay united for the kids. Besides, we will be grandmothers. Rodrigo says we are only one month away. With or without the Count, we have to prevent Felipe from doing something. He’s Sofi’s father and the law…. Pau finishes the sentence—the law protects men.
Pedro and Ruben run into Antonio. Pedro introduces Ruben as his assistant. Ruben adds he’s a partner and he’s known “Pedrito” for a long time. Antonio looks puzzled. Pedro says he’s been working with Ruben for a while. Ruben knows Antonio is a good friend of Pedro’s, and he says Pedrito’s friends are his friends too. Antonio gives Pedro a WTH look.
Pau tells Mari about her visit with the Gallardos. Then she asks what's up with Mari. Did you talk to Gerardo? Did you tell him what that woman said? Mari says she went to talk to the Count to ask for his help investigating the attack on Miguel. She adds, I told him the truth about Gaby. Pau is surprised. What makes you think he will help you? Mari is confused with her feelings for the Count, but she trusts him.
Linares hands David all the info he has on the murder of Miguel’s parents. David thinks this is important but not as important as what is happening now. Ale says this crime left its mark on SJ’s recent history. It was a very controversial case. Investigating it will help you with future articles.
David heard about this case before. It happened about 20 years ago. And he heard a man named Alejandro Gaitan shot them. Ale says that’s what the police concluded. Many things were unclear. Linares says that many people thought Alejandro was falsely accused. Ale thinks everything was done to protect the real culprits. He says David could clear up something important for Lorena’s family. Those who don’t learn from the past… David finishes, are doomed to repeat it.
Pau is worried about Mari. She cautions her about dealing with the Count. Mari thinks Pau could be right. Maybe she shouldn’t wait for the Count to investigate. I have to uncover the truth and take care of my son. Pau asks, are you afraid Gerardo might harm David? Mari replies, if he finds out David is not his blood, I can’t imagine what he might do. The truth always comes to light and exacts a very high price. Pau asks if Mari will let Cordelia get close to Gaby.
Pedro gets another ring from the grave robber.
Vic rants to Vi about Dolores rejecting the Marquis. He’s worried that the Marquis won’t want Dolores anymore. Vi thinks that could be for the best. Vic shouts at Vi. Dolores has to marry the Marquis no matter what. He talks about his financial problems. He demands Vi speak to Dolores and make her accept the marriage.
Set up by Tere, Sofi and Javi meet at the hotel restaurant. Sofi tells Javi that Josie is suspicious. He can’t come to visit anymore. Sofi thinks with Tere’s help, they can meet at the hotel. But we must be careful. Javier notes soon they will be happy in France.
So much for being careful, Sofi and Javi kiss. And what do you know, Josie walks in and sees them and their accomplice, Tere. I’m kind of surprised that Josie turns and walks out.
Cordelia is in Gerardo’s office, and he rips into her. What damn language do I have to speak? We agreed you’d leave SJ! You can’t come looking for me whenever you feel like it. My wife and son could show up!
Cordelia demands to see her daughter. Gerardo wants her to understand she can’t. Cordelia says that Mari admitted she’s not Gaby’s mom. Gerardo can’t believe Cordelia dared to talk to Mari. He asks, does she know what happened between us?
Mari enters and says, it’s time for the three of us to talk and clarify the situation.
And we are out!
Dondi, I can always count on you for a thorough recap, I don't even have to watch it again with English subtitles...
I missed Josie sending Sophia off to meet with Teresa, so the subsequent viewing of the lovers caught me by surprise. Are we still unsure on the number of episodes?
Dondi356: Awesome job with the recap of last night's episode. I'm still aggressively doubling-down on Sofia losing the baby & I'm sticking to this prediction.
Ruben becoming a liability to Scumbag Pedro's plans. When is that damn Duchess coming to Mexico ?
Donde, thank you for that excellent report that gave us every move .
Why did Ale get Ruben out of prison? How does Ruben fit into Ale's revenge plan? Does Ale know that Ruben met with Lu ? I thought Ale wanted to keep Lu away from Pedro. It seems that Ale's plan is getting messy and hurting innocents .
So, the paid assassin is going on paternity leave.
Dolores and Pedro are quite a pair. Susan
Thanks again for a splendid, detailed recap, dondi. Loved "liar, liar, broomstick on fire".
Gerardo continues to berate and insult Felipe. I'm wondering if Felipe will turn on him. He knows all the dirty secrets.
Sigh. TNs are so predictable. Sofia insists on giving birth, even if it risks her life. No good woman in a TN ever has an abortion.
I actually had a moment of sympathy for Dolores and more admiration for Violeta when she advised her about marrying a bad man. Vi is a really good stepmother to both girls.
I shudder to think what Josie is going to do on Monday's episode after seeing Rodrigo and Sofia kiss.
So...Rodrigo knows that El Conde is Alejandro Gaitán, but Leticia does not?
The scene where Ale and David talk was so enjoyable. Especially...those who don't learn from their mistakes...are doomed to repeat them. I can hardly wait for Ale to find out David is his son. He'll surely be overjoyed.
K
Thanks very much, dondi, for yet another terrific recap. You've included everything, and I loved your side comments, especially "It's the eighth commandment. [ironic because Josie has broken them all.]" and the delightfully snarky "[cue world’s smallest violin.]"
I may be mistaken, but I think Sanuel Lopez Vernia, the new DA of San Jacinto, tells Gerardo not just that the President sent him to investigate the attack on Miguel but also specified that Gerardo was to have no role in the investigation. I was surprised that Gerardo was able not to react to that seemingly damning statement. It certainly suggests that the president thinks Gerardo may be responsible for the President's brother's death.
I wonder how the writers are planning to deal with Sofia's pregnancy. Since Josie is clearly enraged to see Sofia kissing Javier, I can imagine Josie physically beating Sofia to punish her, and that this causes Sofia to miscarry. If that happens, would Josie be arrested and charged with causing the fetus's death?
Juanita. Interesting supposition about Josie. I doubt the family would admit Sofia was pregnant out of wedlock, And being early in the pregnancy I'm sure it would ba attributed to her illness with some palm greasing on Josie's part. Novelera, I wonder if abortion was legal at that time if the mother's life is in danger. Otherwise it was up to the back street quacks to terminate an unplanned pregnancy, and as a mother (Pau) I would fear that fate for my daughter
K and Novelera, I also started liking Delores a bit more. Vio is a great stepmother.
Juanita: It's looking more likely Sofia will lose the baby once Buji Joise violently beats her. Paulina will be doing nothing as usual.
Speaking of Javier: Odds that Buji Joise instigates a so-called accident for him ?
Kat in SC: WHEN Sofia loses the baby, she'll marry Harrison & we will NEVER see her again.
PS: Sounds like "SED DE VENGANZA" might replace this Telenovela since the previews says "Coming Soon".
Thanks, everyone. Great comments.
Kat, to be clear, Josie sent Sofi and Tere out to get a cake. They took a side trip to the hotel so Sofi could meet up with Javi. I don’t know the number of episodes but as Steve noted, there was a “pronto” promo for a new TN.
Steve, I hope you are wrong about Sofi and her baby.
Susan, I’m still laughing over “So, the paid assassin is going on paternity leave.” I’m not sure why Ale keeps giving Ruben chances.
Yes, novelera, Sofia risking her life for her unborn child is a TN trope. I think Felipe is too cowardly to turn on Gerardo. He lets his mother do all the dirty work. Rodrigo promised not to out the Count to anyone, I guess that includes Leticia. I’m also worried about what Josie will do regarding Sofi and Javi.
Juanita, I thought the same about the new SJ DA and that the president might have some suspicions about Gerardo.
K and other commenters: I still have zero sympathy for Dolores, although reading the romance novel humanized her a bit. I thought she equated “bad husband” solely with the fact that Pedro didn’t care enough to know her ring size. She is selfish, shallow, and ultra materialistic. I could give her a pass and blame Vic for this, but I won’t. Teresa was raised in the same family and is the total opposite of Dolores.
Dolores doesn’t love Pedro, she loves his status and money, just like she loves her dad’s status and money. No different than Vic making her marriage a financial deal. I believe she felt insulted, not necessarily unloved. Ha, the joke’s on her and Vic!
I’m waiting for Dolores to find out the truth about her mother. Maybe that will change her outlook on life. Let’s hope.
I totally agree with everyone about Violeta. She is a good woman and deserves better than Vic or Antonio. Hopefully she gets her shot at becoming a star.
Donde, I started watching " Amor Prohibido" again on Unimas at 7. However, I missed many episodes. Then I saw the finale . Today I saw a few episodes on YouTube trying to figure out where I stooped watching the first time I started watching , but I couldn't find the last episode I watched .
In the meantime, I am fighting the urge to surf into Fatmagul again. Loved that dizi. Susan
Gracias, Dondi. Fine recap and I love all your asides, especially "[cue world’s smallest violin.]"
You go Dolores, put a wrinkle in Pedro's plan. She is a pain, but a girl has to have standards, even if it's only about correct ring size.
I do believe Ale knows all the secrets surrounding everyone now, except the one about the young man who looks like him and looks nothing like Gerardo is his son.
Niecie, like your comment about conde knowing all the secrets except about his son.

Since this is a Telemundo page thought I would chime in on a show I started yesterday. It was a suggestion in the app so I figured I would try it. Nuevo Rico, Nuevo pobre. It's a comedy, I tend to prefer that genre as long as it isn't of the slapstick type. It's from 2007, Colombian made. Babies switched at birth theme. Never recapped sadly, but I'm enjoying it so far. (I have free time on the weekends so looking for other shows to watch). About to give up on mi marido Tiene Mas Familia after 100 some episodes. The first season was so much better.
