I can't remember much from last night's episode. It was pretty snoozy.
Maribel is finally where she belongs, jail. Mirabel and her cosmetic surgery rival have tart words for each. Usual behind bars threats/intimidations (ho-hum, nothing new to see here).
Torres and Gloria get busy (meh).
Daniel is okay.
El Duque takes a dip in a pool with a playmate and his glove on.
I think Torres runs into an old flame (ex-spouse?).
I'm sure there was a cliffhanger, but dang if I can remember it.
Niecie, thanks . At the end , Yadira was sad and wandering the streets. A guy came up to her. She looked afraid and started running. The guy grabbed her, but a construction worker yelled at him , and the guy ran away. Yadira hugged the construction worker.
Looks like Elisa moved into Gloria's house and joyfully threw away photos and Daniel's baby clothes.
Perron hid a lot of money in something . ..A suitcase??? Susan
#24 – Part 1 of 3
Eduardo and Gloria are snuggled up after doing the deed. Gloria says she thought she might feel differently (guilty?), but she feels content. She would like to just enjoy this, but she needs to find work. Ed says it will do the three of them good to travel to the U.S. for Danny to see some specialists. Gloria asks Ed where the money came from.
Yadira thanks the guy who saved her. He tells her that what she thought was a telescope is a theodolite, a surveying instrument used by a topographer, which is his career. He offers to walk her home, but she demurs. Hope this isn’t the last we see of this nice guy.
Luisa hasn’t smelled Juan José’s clothes yet, but she does stroke the bed where he slept (with Gloria!) She wants a complete remodel and drafts Erna to help her. She’s delighted with the thought that Gloria will know that she now owns the house Juan José built for Gloria.
Eduardo doesn’t tell Gloria the truth about keeping part of the money seized by stopping the septic truck. Seems like, rather than outright lie, he changes the subject.
Laura is packed, ready, and over the moon about seeing her son in Cali. Perrón tells her she has to fly right back because her family lives in a bad neighborhood.
Rotten Perrón calls someone he calls parce (a Colombian usage). The upshot is that that guy is to keep his money safe, less his cut for what he’s doing. Perrón tells he guy he can’t keep the money “here”. We saw Perrón put money into a suitcase that I now assume is Gloria’s. [This is either the money Miguelito’s father gave him or Maribel’s or both.] He tells the guy that Laura doesn’t know what’s in the suitcase.
Torres tells his new partner, Nino, that they’ll continue the work on the fake beauty procedures.
Maribel is again begging the Queen Bee of the prison, Juana Palomares, to use the cell phone again. She does get it. But Juana tells her the price has doubled. Maribel calls Elias. The two nasties trade insults. She wants money or she’s going to rat out his dirty dealings. He agrees to 30,000 pesos. Then he immediately calls someone asking for una celadora (guard) at the female prison. He’ll give her a fortune if she shuts someone up forever.
Danny wonders if his father would mind if he felt like Eduardo was his father.
#24 – Part 2 of 3
Eduardo tells Nico that Marco was involved in something chueco (crooked) with Castillo. He tried to get him to turn himself in, but he got away after Eduardo seized the money.
Castillo has a video of the warehouse where Eduardo confronted Marco. We see his throat being cut, but later they talk about decapitation.
Rosa has Maribel giving pedicures and massaging Rosa’s feet.
Torres feels guilty for not having taken Mario with him and says he’s sure Castillo killed him.
Just then Castillo shows up with some other officers. Something in the video has made it look like Torres killed Marco.
A cruel looking guard shows up in Maribel’s cell. Maribel tells the guard she’s Rosa Mercado, and points to Rosa’s bed, saying it’s Maribel’s. There's some photos pasted on the wall that, I assume, include Rosa. Maribel starts to leave, but then yells that Maribel is coming. The guard then stabs Rosa to death. [Azela Robinson always has nine lives.]
We see a flashback from Castillo’s memory. He’s arrived to get the money from Marco. Marco tries saying he was robbed. This doesn’t fly. Back to the moment, we see Castillo calling Internal Affairs to accuse Torres.
Laura’s bag is searched at the airport. While we expect them to find Perrón’s money, what they find is a toy gun that the baggage scanners picked up. It was given to Laura by Perrón as present for Miguelito. [When Perrón was trying to sweet talk Laura into returning to him, he kept calling the boy Manuelito.]
Gloria comes to see Torres at work. Just then Castillo and some other cops come in and grab him up.
Maribel rats out the killer guard, saying who she is. Another guard shoots the one who killed Rosa. It looks like the Queen Bee is behind this as we see her satisfied face.
Castillo has come to gloat. He’s in a room with Torres. Torres tells him he saw Castillo and that the undercover guy was killed by a narco. Then the narco was to give that money to Marco. Castillo smirks, saying Torres kept $100K. As a parting shot, he tells him that he’s succeeded in ruining him.
#24 – Part 3 of 3
The Queen Bee gives Maribel a cell phone to keep. She’s spouted some stuff about Eastern philosophy that Maribel struggles to not laugh at. Not sure why she’s helping Maribel, except that Maribel said something early in this episode about owning a business.
Humberto (a judge) is a friend of Eduardo Torres and has come to see him. Ed swears he was not the man who killed Marco in the video. The judge tells him he’ll go free if he lets himself be thrown out of the FGE. They want a scapegoat. Plus, if he returned to the force, no one would trust him.
Ramona has come to see Maribel. Maribel senses that Ramona is done with her. [Tú también, Brutus?] Ramona wants her severance pay. If she doesn’t get it, she’ll talk.
Gloria talks with Yadira, who confesses using because her mother is throwing her out of her apartment. She promises not to use again.
Castillo tells Duque that Eduardo Torres is history. Duque is furious. He wanted him killed so that it would hurt Gloria.
Eduardo comes to the hospital to accompany Daniel and Gloria home.
Maribel tells Ramona that she has some incriminating videos of everyone from the salon. Later Ramona tells Perrón and Bolillo. Everyone is worried. But Perrón thinks he has an idea who might have those videos Maribel said were not in her home.
After putting Danny to bed, Torres tells Gloria about being thrown out of his job. He says they’ll still go to the U.S. Danny catches them kissing. Far from being upset, he loves it.
Laura arrives at her home in Cali, a sinister motorcyclist rolls up…..y nada. Freakin’ Telemundo. They began with 3 minutes of BS before the episode began and cut off the end. If anyone managed to see the rest of this scene, please chime in. In any case we’ll probably see it at the beginning of tomorrow’s show.
Novelera: Thanks for the recap of last night's episode. My personal thoughts on last night's episode (Super-short)
*Not shocked Torres got kicked out of law enforcement, sigh.
*Luisa getting on my damn nerves with her obsessive compulsive behavior about the late JJ considering she's complicit in his death.
*Yadira still having problems SMH.
*Maribel in jail for now! Let's see how long before she weasels her way out.
*Gloria & Torres having sex eh ? Torres sure moved on from Susana LOL.
*Where did Perron stuff that money ? 🤔
Novelera, thanks for making everything clear. I was quite confounded last night about what Perron was up to, but now it all adds up. Poor Rosa. Yes, Maribel has nine lives.
I keep waiting for Gloria to become "la jefa."
"Luisa hasn’t smelled Juan José’s clothes yet, but she does stroke the bed where he slept (with Gloria!) -- Ugh. There's no way Juan Jose was ever into that mean, crazy Luisa.
I couldn't believe Perron would set up Laura at the airport, but then he's scum... Glad the package was only a toy gun he gave her for her kid.
Thanks for the recap, novelera.
Rosa—another one gone too soon. She didn’t torture Maribel enough. Queen Bee Juana is very creepy.
The surveyor was nice. I hope he stays in the series.
Glo and Ed are kinda yucky to me.
There wasn’t much that you missed, novelera. A guy jumped off the moto and he wanted Laura’s purse. She shouted that all her papers, passport, etc., were in there.
Thanks Steve, Niecie and dondi. I agree dondi that this couple are not the heartthrobs I'd wish. They could use one of the Turkish galanes I've liked. Speaking of Turkish, I already mentioned that my cycling teacher at the Y is of Turkish heritage. Now my Pilates class for Spring Quarter, which began last night, has a Turkish couple! I approached them. They were gobsmacked that I recognized them for being Turks. I stammered out something about dizis which got a smile. I guess I've seen enough dizis that I can especially recognize males. This guy was hairy and trying very hard to do moves that are easier for women. I did get a huge smile when I identified his country of birth.
I agree about the surveyor. What's the point of introducing a nice, handsome guy for 5 minutes. Thanks, dondi, for filling in the last scene. I was expecting the guy on the moto to grab her suitcase, which I didn't even see.
Niecie, I'm also waiting for La Jefa to appear. I'm kind of up to my back teeth with suffering. And the villains gaining every battle.
Nove!era, Thank you for bringing us every detail . I didn't think that there was an episode last night, so I went to bed .
Wow, they introduce someone new ...and then kill off that person .
Dies Gloria feel like cena the all over again with Torres taking drug money like JJ did .
This show seems pretty hopeless. Are we ever going to see the tide turn .
OT..I just started a dizi on Netflix with the lead actor from La Familia and the actress from.Fatmagul. susan
Susan: I'm waiting for the debut of "DINISTIAS CASILLAS".
Novelera: Luisa & Erna AKA the Ugly Ass Sisters both need to die horribly.
Kat in SC: Since this is a Super Series, I don't see a happily ever after until 2027 or 2029.
I saw a promo last night for “Velvet: El Nuevo Imperio” starting in May. It’s supposed to be based on the 2014 Spanish television series “Velvet”. That was on Netflix but I don’t know if it’s still there. I haven’t watched it.
Susan, are you referring to the movie with Kıvo and Beren, “Last Call for Istanbul”? That was eagerly anticipated by fans of their pairing in “Aşk-ı Memnu/Amor Prohibido”. I watched it and it was okay. A lot of it was filmed in NYC. I tried to find the filming locations to see if I could spot them. I had no such luck.
Steve, “La Dinastía Casillas” can ’t be much worse than La Jefa—although I’m not looking forward to seeing more of Iván Arana.
Dondi356: Just NOT a fan of the Turkish dramas, just the way I feel. I'm going to assume that "VELVET" might be in the 8:00 PM CST timeslot correct ?
They're all in on the awfulness. Perrón spent 5 minutes with the kid he's planning to sell to his bio dad and went nuts. My money's on Laura and Miguelito escaping. And Laura overheard Perrón on the phone discussing his dirty deeds, so I don't believe she'll ever reunite with him. Whether or not she keeps the boy from being sent to his father, I don't know. Why the father wants a child he's not seen since forever is a mystery. Organ donor?
And Mathilde overheard Luisa confessing that it was Sebas who shot her, not Gloria. So there's that. I enjoyed Gloria not giving in easily and telling her mother how lame and hurtful it was not to be believed.
Dumb cliffhanger. Dani is not going to blow his brains out with Eduardo's gun.
Novelera, ITA that Laura won't reunite with Perrón now (fingers crossed!). I must say the show did a pretty good job last night. Watching Perrón trying to drill through the door as Laura and her son crouched in fear was harrowing.
Somehow I missed the cliffhanger. Boy, am I glad I did. I hate the way the writers have Dani do dumb stuff we know he wouldn't do.
Novelera , thank you . My cable was out last night .
Perron is such a scary brute . I hope that get some n resl.life he is a teddy bear.
Okay, time for the good guys to start winning . susan
