Summaries for Episodes 53-55 would be our usual weekend schedule. We still have Darcy out and are down to two that are doing this. So, as this is a leisurely stroll (not a marathon), I propose we do 53 and 54 only:
Episode 53 Friday Babachita
Episode 54 Saturday Dondi.
If anyone wants to take the Sunday episode for Darcy, as I did last weekend, let me know and we can add episode 55. (Sunday is nice as it’s the last one for the weekend, so there’s no hurry.)

Thanks for doing double duty this past weekend. I'm sorry I don't have time to do a second kpa recap this weekend. I'm going to put something up for Friday lejos instead. Gotta keep the Telemundo page going, too.
It's not terrible if we have to cut down on a recap once in a while.
A few years ago, I saw a soft news item on how dubbing is done. There are companies that employ voice artists to do the work and a client, like a production company or network would hire them. I suppose they might have artists who specialize in dubbing for certain languages and/or actors.
The artists need to sync the dubbing with the original so lips don’t move without sound. And then they have to convey the emotion of the scene as well. They interviewed a man who explained his process and a woman who is a little person who dubs voices for children. It was very interesting. I wish I could remember where I saw this.
That’s so interesting, Dondi. They really do a great job with amazing skill. I lived in Latin America as a child. We watched things like Combat and The Munsters. (Dating myself here!) When in the US, we were surprised to hear the actors’ real voices and often preferred a Spanish dubbed voice to the real one.
Although it has taken me awhile, I finally became accustomed to the English KPA dubbing. It is very different from the Spanish dubbing and captions that I heard when I first watched this. I think this was aimed for American English speakers. Sometimes Tayyar sounds like a gangster. Omer has a British tinge that I’m actually liking. I think this must be what Netflix offered. I like Elif’s voice, too. So, from being totally not a fan to acceptance has taken 52 episodes. I can’t believe I’m saying this!!!
Best of all, of course, is Turkish with captions, but the dubbing enables me to do summaries better. I have to trust that the translation is accurate.
