There is a knock on the door. Moises opens it and Erika walks right in. “Moises?” she questions softly, looking quite lovingly at him. “Si” he answers, and you are? She cries a bit and he asks her what’s wrong. She smiles and he tells her to come in (although she already is). She thinks the house is lovely. She asks about Oscar when all of a sudden he strides in, looking quite unhappy, asking Andres to leave, which he reluctantly does. Oscar turns and angrily said he made it clear Moises is his son. His words and tone seem lost on her; “he is hermosa” she says gushing. Then, she seems to come to and asks him to calm down. She cries and he relents a bit.
Juan David wakes up and wishes his unborn twins a good day as Angelina smiles. He has something on his mind. It seems he is aspiring to the President of the Municipal of Monteverde! Angelina smiles her delight and approval; she thinks it’s a grand idea.
Rosalia pours her tea as Lucas comes out. She is going to Zacatillo; he offers to go with her with her but she says no. She is feeling guilty about Lucia and although he argues Franco is his hermano, she says Lucia is being told a lie. He tries to talk her out of saying anything, trust me he says. She doesn’t look too sure.
Oscar comes into Moises room who is playing with Griselda. Who is that woman Moises wonders. Oscar tries to make it sound as though Erika is confused, but he comes off sounding that way. He turns and stares at Moises. After leaving, he holds a toothbrush in a plastic bag and stares.
Father Gabriel comes in and is told about his nephew’s ambition.
Aida and Carolina stroll the prison halls as Armida and her henchies (now having respect for Carolina) part for them as the two walk by.
Griselda squeals a bit as Oscar tells Moises he is going to see Father Gabriel who has an errand in town. He asks about Andres and something is said about Carlos. Oscar picks him up and hugs him as Moises laugh, Oscar saying he is the best boy in the world!
Belén and Lucia are going to see Aquiles. Diego is not gracious as Lucia guides her out.
Carolina’s attorney tells her Padilla didn’t show up. The discussion turns to money; Carolina is delighted that Celeste managed to come up with the money.
Franco and Lucas talk about Erika and are obviously concerned about Moises, their brother. Lucas tells Franco that Rosalia is growing increasingly upset about knowing Franco is Aquiles’ owner and keeping the secret.
Diana
Oscar goes to Father Gabriel’s, toothbrush in hand, thanking him.
Traitor Padilla and Carlos have coffee. I think there was some talk about exactly where Carolina is at the moment. Is Carlos threatening to take Andres out of the country?
Juan David tells Manuel and Gloria about wanting to be the President of the Municipal. Gloria smiles but then laughs as though it is a ridiculous notion. Manuel (to my surprise) also seems to have a good chuckle over the idea.
Lucas goes to Rosalia’s office and seeing her lab coat on the hook, realizes she is gone. Lucas looks alarmed.
Belén is watching Lucia with Aquiles. Rosalia calls her and asks where she is. Lucia explains and Rosalia says she is on her way to the hotel and wants to meet with her. “Are you all right?” Lucia asks, her spidey sense tingling. Yes she answers to which Lucia urges her to be careful.
Oscar talks to Andres and hermana Celeste, asking about Carlos. Oscar wants to bring him to the ranch to which Celeste immediately agrees. Moises will be happy! Andres tells him Carolina is a good person. Oscar doesn’t want to hear it but ruffles his hair affectionately.
Lucas arrives home calling for Rosalia; she is not there either! Next, Lucas goes to the inn, asking hermana Celeste if she’s seen Rosalina. Negative…
Arriving home, Oscar yells for Moises; it’s a surprise – Andres! You are the best father in the world Moises affirms as the boys lug the suitcase away.
A ready to jump out of his skin Oscar calls Father Gabriel (who is sitting at the clinic with Erika) asking if he has any news. Not yet…
Belén and Lucia return from the visit. Belén asks her father a question and Lucia is a bit cold saying he is busy. Belén waxes enthusiastic about her time. After Belén takes off, Lucia starts to leave and asks if Rosalia is there. No. Lucia looks concerned.
Andres and Moises are playing board games when Oscar’s office phone rings. Moises tells Andres right away “it’s your mother” and indeed it is! I’m so worried about you Andres says. He tells her he is staying with Oscar and she is very happy. Andres lets it slip that Oscar is the one who gave the money to Celeste. She is a bit emotional and smiles and tells him it’s ok. She can’t wait to see him and cries. Te quiero mucho he says as the phone cuts out. The boys secret handshake.
Diana
The results are in! Erika hands the letter to Father Gabriel. You are the mother of Moises he affirms. She is so happy as she hugs the father who smiles. He pulls out his phone and calls Oscar. Do you have the results father? Yes he says, looking serious. Let’s meet in person Oscar requests, this is too important to discuss over the phone.
Carolina tells Aida about Oscar León. He is a marvelous man who she loves. How romantic Aida says, asking her for more details. It’s complicated and a long story Carolina declares. She starts talking about her sister and Monteverde. It sounds like a pelicula Aida smiles.
Franco burst into Lucas’ and tells him Rosalia was in an accident on her way to Zacatillo. The men rush out and arrive at the hospital as we see Rosalia on a gurney being wheeled into the OR.
At Father Gabriel’s, Oscar refuses coffee and asks the million-dollar question: is Erika Moises’ mother? “Si” is the answer. Oscar again says Moises is his son. All children deserve their mothers Father Gabriel answers, firmly but kindly. Oscar knows she is a victim of circumstances but keeps asking why, why…
Hermana Celeste and Erika talk as she tells her Moises is her son. I’m not quite clear what is discussed but Celeste seems to indicate it will be a process which upsets Erika as she has had no time, no chance to be with him.
Father Gabriel seems to think Oscar will do the right thing although he looks grave.
Juan David and Angelina are in the office; they take a letter for Father Gabriel. There is other news which I can’t translate.
Aida takes Carolina to the phone; I’m assuming she wants her to call Oscar.
Oscar goes in to see Moises. Never missing a trick, Moises immediately notices his father looks sad. Oscar says no but then embraces him in a tight bear hug as Andres looks on somberly. Oscar says it’s ok and kisses him on the cheek. The sharp young men know something is up.
The nurse hands Lucas Rosalia’s personal effects as Lucas is beside himself with worry. In the last scene, the doctor comes out and tells Lucas that Rosalia is in serious condition…
Rosalia’s accident was such an unexpected (and sad) development. A tragic event, if only someone had told Lucia the truth earlier! Perhaps this will cause Nestor to finally come and see his daughter whom he has treated unforgivably.
Diego has lost a bit of his luster.
I’m anxious to see if and how Oscar tells Carolina about Erika’s return.
Another eventful well written episode.
Diana
Erika manages to confuse Moisés when she starts to cry and tells him that in spite of her tears she is very happy and so excited to see him. She met him many years ago when he was just a little thing. He asks her if she is a friend of his godfather Oscar León. She says not as such but she does know him. He asks if that is the way she met him when he was little. She answers not exactly.
As she starts to explain that she met him when he was recently . . . Oscar enters the room. He is angry because he thought they had a deal for her not to see Moisés until they had positive DNA test results that she was his mother. She cannot stand being apart from her son anymore. She wants to take the DNA test today. Oscar agrees.
Juan David asks Angelina what she would think if Monteverde had somebody to look after the needs of the people. He could look into improving the lighting on the road to Zacatillo so there are no accidents, establish a daycare so the mothers in town could go on working, establish a bike path so the citizens could bike safely. He has been thinking of ways to make things better in Monteverde.
Oscar scolds Moisés for letting a stranger into the house. Moisés explains he only did it because she said she knew him since he was little. Oscar says she must be confused and he cannot remember where he met her, maybe some time in Zacatillo. He asks why she came.Oscar says he is sounding like a private eye. Enough with the questions! Moisés likes her and she is pretty!
Lucas tells Rosalía that she just cannot change her mind and go and tell Lucía the truth because she had agreed that she would keep the secret until Franco told her. Rosalía says she CAN change her mind and she she has. Lucas tries to get her to agree to let Franco tells Lucia the truth ASAP.
The good father asks Juan David how he can be the municipal president when the town of Monteverde isn't even a municipality. Juan David answers that he is going to make it happen. The good father thinks not explaining he isn't a pessimist but a realist. The town is so small and it would take so much work turning it into a municipality. Juan David is willing to do it! The good father says he will be sure to vote for him but now it is time to get to work and stop thinking about such silliness.
Moisés tells Oscar he cannot find his toothbrush. Oscar says it was old so he threw it out. He will buy him a new one. Moisés recounts the conversation he had with Andrés. Andrés is afraid that since his mother is in jail, his father will come and take him away. Moisés adds that he told Andrés not to be afraid because his godfather would take care of him just like he takes care of him because he is the best father in the whole world. Oscar tells him not to worry. If that man shows up in town, he himself will not allow him to take Andrés away.
Belén asks her father if he is ready to go. He forgot all about going to the ranch to see the horse and has way too much work to do to go today. He asks if they can go another day. Belén says they can't. Today is the only day she has no school. Lucía says they won't be gone long. He disagrees. The ranch isn't around the corner. They keep pleading with him to go until he tells them he has had enough. He angrily tells them one more time that he has a lot of work to do so. He does real work! Lucía takes that comment to heart and tells Belén that they need to get to her "pastime." Diego realizes his mistake and apologizes immediately. Lucía says they will talk later as she leaves with Belén.
The lawyer says they cannot waste any ore tine on Padilla if he is still connected to Carlos. She has already hired a cybernetic investigator to trace the money.
Franco is worried that Erika could end up with custody of Moisés in spite of Oscar having adopted him. He isn't sure about how the law works. Lucas tells Franco that the time has come to tell Lucía the truth because he just had to stop Rosalía from going to Zacatillo to do it herself. He emphasizes now is the time. Franco nods and looks scared.
Oscar tells the good father that Erika is ready to take the DNA test today. The good father will take charge of getting the test done.
Padilla has news for Carlos. The lawyer had money to pay him. Carlos wonders who could have loaned money to Carolina. Carlos concludes the lawyer must have been lying. Padilla informs him that Andrés is no longer at the convent. Padilla paid the gardener to keep tabs on the situation. Carlos says Padilla has to find his son. He is leaving the country and will not be leaving without him.
(Lucía has the same ring tone on her phone that I have. I reached for mine when Rosalía called her. : ( )
Rosalía will meet Lucía at 2:00 at the hotel.
Oscar says that his ranch is the safest place in Monteverde for Andrés to stay. Carlos can go all over town but he cannot step one foot on his land. Celeste leaves the decision up to Andrés who decides to pack up and go with Oscar.
He is sure he wants to go live on the ranch where his father will not find him.
Oscar promises to take care of him like his own son. Andrés apologizes to Oscar for how he acted with him when he found out his mother liked him. Oscar assures him that is all in the past. He also asks him not to be angry with his mother. She is a very good person and loves him a lot. He hopes that Oscar can forgive her some day. Moisés is lucky to have a godfather like him.
Aida tells Carolina she hopes things go quickly for her with her case. Some women in the prison have been there three years without a sentence. Aida only knows of two people that were given home confinement. One was an older woman and the other was a girl who was dying. That doesn't give Carolina much hope.
Belén tells her father how she could pet Aquiles and gave him a carrot to eat. Lucía tells her to cut it short because her father has to work. He says of course he has time to listen to Belén. Belén tells him more and hopes that some day he doesn't have a lot of work, so he can come and meet Aquiles. Diego would like that a lot. Diego wants to talk to Lucía. She angrily answers that she doesn't feel like doing that right now. The topic of Rosalía comes up.
Andrés asks his mother not to tell Celeste that he told her that Oscar gave her the money they needed. She promises that she will say nothing and assures him that she is fine and it will all work out.
Erika tells the good father that she always knew that Moisés was her son. She could feel it from the first time she saw him. She cannot describe it. It was something unique!!! (the orchestral background music heavy on strings, from this scene and other heart wrenching ones to follow, sounds like something out of the 50's)
Franco tells Lucas that Mario had an accident on the way to Zacatillo. He got broadsided.
After hearing Carolina's story, Aida concludes that Oscar gave her the money because he still loves her.
The good father advises Oscar to tell Moisés that Erika is his mother ASAP because Erika will do it the first chance she has. What happened wasn't her fault!!! Oscar is afraid that she will take Moisés away from him. The good father says that is something that needs to be discussed with her.
Yes, Celeste frustrates Erika telling her that it will be a process introducing Moisés to her as his mother. It will take some time for him to process everything. The situation is difficult for a child that age. She is going to have to give him time. Erika tells her that after all of these years, she cannot stand being away from him one more second!
The good father assures Oscar that he will find the right words to tell Moisés.
The postman tells Juan David and Angelina that the phone company has approved the antenna for Monteverde. Juan David needs to go to their office.
Carolina has no time left on her phone card so Aida lends her her card.
The doctor says that Rosalía was unconscious when she arrived with several serious injuries. She has swelling in her brain. Her condition is critical. She has a severe cervical displacement and sadly could end up a quadriplegic.
Thank you, Diana. I agree about Diego having lost some of his luster in the way he handled Lucía but also think that she was immature insisting that he come when he said he had too much work. Uh, somebody has to pay her and the bills but then this is telenovela world where people pop in and out of work as the drama dictates.
I loved the Juan David's municipal president quest. The internet and cellphones are around the corner thanks to him.
Will Franco tell Lucía the truth ALREADY or will he use Rosalía's accident to put it off again?
i watched the first episode last night. It seems that Aitana (Susana González) has returned disguised as an RN to the town of her youth to exact some sort of revenge on a rich ranching family ( a real viper's nest of characters ) that has hired her to care for their matriarch. They do not recognize her from 18 years ago. She does not expect a worker on the ranch Zacarías (Andrés Palacios) to recognize her and she strongly denies she is who he thinks she is.
For anyone who is interested, this is supposed to have 80 episodes total.
This was a little dark for me so I am done with it.
Many thanks again to the delightful duo, Diana and Jarifa. Jarifa, I am in agreement with you about Diego needing to be the grown-up in the room. Somebody has to pay the bills and horse trainers do not bring in the big bucks generally. Nor do pastry chefs!
I thought it was weird the postman didn't seem to know Juan David. One would think in such a small town everyone knows each other. Maybe it is so small the postal worker comes from Zacatilla, which obviously is not all that far away as the townspeople go there regularly.
I also had to smile when Oscar claimed nobody (Carlos) could come on his land without the workers knowing. Haven't we seen how easy it is to scale the gate in a nuns habit, or drive to another area on the grounds which receives cell service. Oscar has been generous to the townspeople in his own way by not requiring a password to access his "hot spot".
Nobody at the hospital mentioned the baby's condition.
Didn't it seem strange that the lawyer is on a time limit with her client and they have no privacy discussing matters? And poor Aida, doing time for movie pirating. Or was the officer injured when she tried to run away. I already forgot her back story.
I forgot this was starting. Based on your take, Jarifa, I'll probably skip it. So this dark show makes the 8 p.m. slot, but not Monteverde. Seems strange. I've decided it's more fun watching shows others are commenting on and recapping. When YouTube TV stopped carrying Univision/unimas for that month I was forced to wean myself from the shows, and found out it wasn't a bad thing for me. I do watch more TV in the winter though, so old telenovela recommendations I try to find and watch them. My Spanish is improving so I don't need recaps, they just clarify some things for me. I'd understand even more if I didn't multitask by playing games in my tablet or doing my French Duolingo lessons. I wonder if France has telenovelas?
Oh Jarifa, your summary was exquisitely written. Pure perfection.
I loved your lyrical "(the orchestral background music heavy on strings, from this scene and other heart wrenching ones to follow, sounds like something out of the 50's)".
Rosalia's accident was heart breaking. My first thought was did she lose the baby? I would have thought the pregnancy would have been addressed by the doctor? I am expecting that will be the first question Lucas asks.
"Erika tells her that after all of these years, she cannot stand being away from him one more second!" While her emotions are understandable, Celeste was right in telling her that Moises will need time to process this huge revelation. Oscar has been the only parent he has known all of his life. She should also realize how hard this is on Oscar thinking he will lose the son he dearly loves. Go gently...
That said, I loved Moises' reaction to Erika. "Moisés likes her and she is pretty!" Children are intuitive and their instincts are usually spot on. I wonder if learning the truth will change his perspective.
So Carlos does want to spirit Andres away. I can't think of a better and safer place for him to be than Oscar's...
I love Juan David's ambitious plans for Monteverde! Well thought out and practical. He has my vote :)
I'd wager some tough and honest talk seems slated for tonight' episode. I have my fingers crossed Oscar gets to tell Moises before Erika does.
Jarifa, thank you for expertly explaining so many important details and conversations crucial to this incredible story.
Diana
Thanks so much Kat!
I just read your comment and yes, I was also surprised nothing was said about Rosalia's baby...
"I also had to smile when Oscar claimed nobody (Carlos) could come on his land without the workers knowing. Haven't we seen how easy it is to scale the gate in a nuns habit, or drive to another area on the grounds which receives cell service" had me grinning. Excellent point! I guess it's a good thing that Oscar always seems to be lurking and catching the tresspassers (for the most part). With everything going on though, I am a bit concerned that Carlos will strike when least expected. I really hope we don't have to endure a kidnapping, which is what it would be as Andres now wants no part of his father.
Diana
I am also worried that Erika could be a pair of loose lips if she comes to know that Andrés is also staying at Oscar’s from Moisés or Oscar himself and runs into Carlos. She might identify with Carlos not having contact with his child.
Wow. I watched last night and thought it was great. Lots of familiar faces , and I am a fan of Susana Gonzales . I am definitely going to watch even though I don't understand the dialogue . It takes place on a beautiful ranch with beautiful horses.. The bad girl is the blonde from Las Hijas. She knows how to bring the bad. I didn't recognize Iran Castillo . Do any of you remember her from Alborada? Lucero sings the them song and sounds amazing. Also, I like the 8:00 time slot. Loved it . Susan
Jarifa, "I am also worried that Erika could be a pair of loose lips if she comes to know that Andrés is also staying at Oscar’s from Moisés or Oscar himself and runs into Carlos. She might identify with Carlos not having contact with his child".
That would be terrible!!! I do fear Carlos is going to find Andres one way or another.
Diana
I watched this and will probably continue with it. Lots of great actors. I like the ranch and horses that Susan mentions.
Babachita
This is off to a great start! Right away we have a mystery, though if you’ve been in love with somebody years ago you would definitely recognize them.
It’s nice production, very pretty, and a fun cast
Maggie
Maggie, I agree . I was pleasantly surprised at the beautiful setting and all the familiar faces . The matriarch and mother of the four sons, has been in so many shows over the years . There are also actors and actresses who are new to me . I am looking forward to new watching things unfold , and it is on at 8 so I won't have to record it. Susan
The episode number has been updated so it aligns with Univision’s listing. No episode was skipped. As Jarifa pointed out some time ago, there was an airing of two combined episodes which is why the numbering was off.
As Lucas and Franco stare, the doctor tells them how sorry he is but Rosalia is critical. Due to the injuries she sustained, she could end up as a quadriplegic. Heart in his throat, Lucas asks “and the baby?” The doctor does not have an immediate answer.
“Bueno” Oscar says answering the phone. Who is this? Carolina gulps and says, “it’s Carolina”. She asks how Andres is. He is fine Oscar insists, he is safe. He goes quiet and although Carolina tries to keep the conversation going, he hangs up.
The doctor comes back and tells Lucas that unfortunately the baby has died. Franco holds him as Lucas is grief stricken, his face crumpling. I am so sorry Franco tells him. The nurse brings over a document for him to sign. Lucas is inconsolable, collapsing in a chair holding his stomach. Franco inquires about Mario and is told he has a fracture.
The doctor talks to Rosalia. He tells her where she is, he explains she had an accident. He takes a needle and tests to see if she has any feeling in her shoulder or down her side. She does not react. He says she has an inflammation. Later though she is grimacing but I can’t tell if she is feeling anything, is in pain or simply in emotional turmoil. Outside, Lucas keeps asking Franco, why, why?
The doctor tells Lucas that Rosalia is not responding but tells him to be calm. He leads him into her room. Mi amor he implores as she opens her eyes, staring at him.
The phone from the plastic bag containing Rosalia’s belongings rings. Franco retrieves it and answers it, hearing Lucia’s voice. He tells her Rosalia is in the hospital and what happened. Lucia is shocked and asks what hospital she is in. She immediately takes off.
Rosalia stares at Lucas and asks, “the baby?” He doesn’t reply and she stares demanding that Lucas answer her. Mi amor he begins, the baby is lost. No, that’s not true she cries. Why, why? My baby she laments, heartbroken. A nurse comes in and sedates her as she continues to give an agonizing cry. Lucas kneels by her side as she floats into unconsciousness.
Caolina recalls being in her nun’s garb (minus her habit) as Oscar tells her he loves her, effusing he has dreams and plans. She removes his hat and kisses him. She smiles at the memory but then quickly gets upset. Oscar is also reminiscing. He remembers riding horses with Moises, the two of them at the river skipping stones, pillow fights as they horse around. Oscar wipes his tears…
Juan David and Angelina are following up on the approval of their antenna for the internet. Angelina gives a delighted smile.
The boys are playing when Oscar comes in and says he needs to talk with Moises. Andres cleans up their toys as Moises leaves.
Diana
Lucia arrives at the hospital and Franco greets her. He tells her about the accident and that Rosalia miscarried. As they hug, Lucia laments poor Rosalia! She tells him she was supposed to meet Rosalia at the hotel. From the look on his face, I believe Franco knows why.
Oscar tells Moises he has loved him for many years. The smart lad knows that. Padrino, you are the best father in the world he says sincerely. Andres and I are best friends, we are a family. There is someone else Oscar says quietly, your mother. Moises stares.
Lucia hugs Lucas, who is heartbroken. Franco pats him on the shoulder in solidarity and sympathy.
“Mi mama?” Moises says getting emotional. Yes Oscar affirms. He then tells Moises she thought he was dead. Moises cries hearing the words and is relatively speechless as his little face mirrors his pain as he hugs Oscar.
Erika goes to see Father Gabriel who tells her to be patient but she can’t! He tells her to have some coffee, his pleas that Moises and Oscar have spent many years together falling on deaf ears. She doesn’t want to wait a minute longer! He pulls out a chair for her.
Lucia calls Diego and tells him Rosalia lost the baby and may be paralyzed. He offers to come as she is alone. I’m not alone she tells him Franco and Lucas are there. When she hangs up, he bangs on the table in anger and frustration. If I were a betting woman, I’d say he is hightailing it there pronto!
Franco calls Oscar but he is with Moises and doesn’t answer…
Your mother is Erika Oscar tells Moises who is completely overwhelmed as he hugs Oscar, trying to process…
Juan David introduces Angelina to a town official asking if it is possible that Monteverde could become a municipality. He explains they just got the internet. A thick folder of documents are brought in, it’s quite a pack of papers!
Diana
Rosalia is trying to move her hand and one finger does indeed lift. The nurse sees it, smiling broadly saying “that’s incredible” and runs to tell the doctor. Rosalia asks for Lucas.
Lucia goes to get coffee as Franco apologizes to Lucas, blaming himself for the accident but Lucas waves him off. The nurse comes out and tells them about Rosalia’s moving her finger.
Moises tells Andres his mother returned saying she is bonita. He then talks about Franco’s mother returning…Moises is nervous and Andres, acting in the best interests of his friend, tells Moises he doesn’t pass the smell test. Moises runs out to rectify that!
Oscar arrives at the inn, asking hermana Celeste if Erika is there. No she is at Father Gabriel’s. She kindly tells him she knows he is going through a difficult time. He is sincere in his thanks, marking the first truly genuine and non-confrontational words the two have spoken!
Meanwhile, Father Gabriel and Erika are playing chess, she, clearly bored out of her mind. There is a knock on the door and he gets up to answer it, giving her the “I’m watching you” finger point. The visitor is Oscar, who has arrived to take her to Moises. She thanks the good father and quickly grabs her bag with record speed, clearly ready to go. Father is clearly concerned and gives Oscar a smile, raising his eyes heavenward after he leaves.
Franco sits and has just started to tell Lucia the truth about Aquiles’ owner when Diego shows up (no surprise, right?) He envelops her in a hug as he evil eyes Franco.
The doctor moves Rosalia’s arm. I can’t understand what he says but Lucas looks a bit hopeful. Rosalia seems to blame herself but he says it was an accident. He gives her support as he kisses her forehead.
I’m not quite sure who Carolina’s lawyer is visiting (another lawyer, judge?). She explains that Carolina is a good person and that it was her husband who perpetrated fraud and Carolina, who is innocent, was blamed. She also tells him Carolina has a child. Where is the child now he asks. She tells him and he looks thoughtful.
Moises is pacing as Andres watches out for Erika. Moises looks adorable in his brown shirt, hair looking squeaky clean and neat. Oscar brings Erika in and Moises enters smiling. “Hola” she says as Moises smiles angelically. Can I have a hug she asks? As Oscar nods in the background, she kneels and does just that. The two look so happy but Oscar looks as though his heart is breaking.
Father Gabriel has a cold one at Manuel’s (I’m surprised he isn’t chugging from a bottle of Jack Daniels right about now). Juan David and Angelina arrive with their stack of papers. The excited couple proclaim the process has already started for Monteverde to become a municipality! It is the future. Father opens the file as Manuel and Hugo look on.
Diana
Erika tells Moises she has dreamed of this moment for years apologizing for being so overly emotional. He tells Erika about his friend Andres. It appears they have some common interests and likes, including chocolate! Oscar excuses himself and leaves. Mother and son share another hug as Oscar watches around the corner.
Franco, eyes flaming, watches Diego and Lucia. Lucas comes out and Diego says how sorry he is and then returns to his chair. Lucas and Franco stare.
Lucia enters Rosalia’s room and hugs her friend. She tells her Franco told her she was there. “Franco?” Rosalia asks. Lucia tells Rosalia how very sorry she is as Rosalia cries.
Moises tells Erika about Oscar and Franco; Andres arrives and she gives him a warm greeting, calling him guapo. Oscar comes out and tells Moises to say goodnight, Erika will see him soon. After Moises leaves, Oscar tells her he is glad Moises is so happy. Rather than being grateful for meeting her son and for Oscar’s immediate and gracious acquiescence in doing so, Erika just can’t contain herself. While I didn’t understand the exact words, I believe Erika immediately says that she will be taking Moises and going where her family is. Oscar stares and tells her that Moises’ life and family are here, in Monteverde! And so the tug of war begins…
Diana
Elvira, I'm waiting for you...
Events from tonight's episode will haunt me for a next few days 😱😡😤
Anon
Hi, Gang!
I'm sorry I've been MIA, but my life has been so busy that I stopped watching novelas for a while.
I got into Verdad Oculta by mistake a night while I was having insomnia and I can't say this strongly enough:
It's one of the best novelas I've ever seen!
This coming from someone who doesn't particularly like any of the leads (I do Love David Chocarro now haha) and I don't usually go for strong stories like this.
But this is well acted, well written and it has a heart. I don't know how to explain it, it just has the X Factor.
I'd love to come back and comment every once in a while, since I am always in pins and needles waiting for the next episode, but I'm afraid I will say something and spoil it for you.
But I like it so much that if I can find it online I will get back to watching it again just to enjoy talking about it with you.
Diana, I'll clear up your last question. Erika is going to move to Monteverde to be close to her son, and not just a visitor, which is what Oscar sort of offers her. Her current job is as a receptionist at a dental clinic. Maybe she can get a job with Juanita as her receptionist! At any rate, Oscar fell in my esteem again as he is upset that Erika wants to move to Monteverde.
Juan David trying to get sleepy little Monteverde incorporated as a town. He goes to some official to determine how this can be accomplished. Said official calls his secretary and in 2 seconds she brings in a stacked file of rules and regulations to become incorporated! Are there that many similar requests that they just happen to have theses files at the ready?
I think it was a judge the lawyer spoke with. She is hoping to get Carolina released to the convent on house arrest and pleads her case, Carolina has a clean record and that her husband is the one that set her up.
Jarifa is so good with her extras I'll leave it to her to set the rest of the record straight.
I'm jumping in. I'm having cc issues again watching in real time which is a disadvantage as I'm trying to learn the characters names. Adriana, we've missed you. There are a lot of familiar to me now actors in this show, though the matriarch I think is new to me. I'm still trying to sort out the 4 brothers. (Shades of Fatmagul with the violation scene).
I do have a question, is the oldest son's daughter that fell off the horse actually his biologically? I got the impression that it may be his stepdaughter but not sure it was actually spelled out as such.
Elvira, SpanProf, Darcy, Jarifa, Kat in SC: When's the Gran Final of this Telenovela is supposed to be airing ?
Cher Adriana, so nice to "see" you here. I hope that you will continue to comment. I've missed your insightful comments . Susana Gonzales is always amazing . The matriarch has Been in so many novels for so many years.
Susan
Kat, yes, I agree . That awful scene reminded me of Fatmagul , which is one of my favorite shows. Susan
Anon, what were the writers, thinking ? What a terrible episode . i guess they thought that the story lines, were not dark enough. uff Susan
Kat, thank you for your astute comments.
Because I base much of what I record on people's reactions, I thought Oscar was apopletic because Erika wanted to take Moises away! Actually, that is the best possible scenario for Moises, and it is he who matters here.
It was incredible how the paperwork was compiled and ready to go! Great observation.
I'm hoping the judge has a heart and will allow for house arrest. We (and Oscar) need Carolina out of jail where all we see is a phone call.
Thanks again! Much appreciated.
Diana
Adriana Noel, so glad you commented. Hope you and your family are doing well. Your presence is truly missed!
Suzanna Gonzalez is my favorite actress and while I've seen bits and pieces, after watching Papas, this just seems too dark...
Diana
Thank you, Diana! "Father Gabriel has a cold one at Manuel’s (I’m surprised he isn’t chugging from a bottle of Jack Daniels right about now)" You can that again and again!
What am I missing? During the commercial breaks they show a scene you just saw and then announce "Ahead on Monteverde!" No. it is really "back on Monteverde" because you saw that scene already! Why not show a future scene???
ANYWAY,
The doctor tells Lucas that in an abdominal ultrasound he could see that Rosalía was pregnant but he will have to do a 3-D ultrasound to find a fetal heartbeat.
Aida tells a reluctant Carolina how to handle a phone call with Oscar. First, she should thank him for taking care of her son as she would thank anyone and then she should let her heart take over!!! Carolina is a bit put off when Oscar supposedly doesn't recognize her voice and asks who is calling. She thanks him for taking Andrés in and he assures her that nobody will take her son from that town. She thanks him again since she couldn't handle her son being taken away. There is a long silence and finally Oscar says he has to hang up. Carolina asks if they cannot talk like they used to. He answers that that he is going through a bad time, says goodbye and hangs up leaving Carolina wondering what is going on.
The doctor asks Lucas to sign a form so he can do a D&C on Rosalía ASAP. He will also be testing her to find out if she can feel anything.
Mario has a fracture in his arm and whiplash.
Lucas wonders why God is punishing him and Rosalía like this. . .
The official tells Juan David and Angelina that they will have their phone/internet service in about a month. Juan David signs for the work to be done.
Lucía tells Franco that Rosalía was on the way to see her because she had something urgent to tell her.
Oscar explains that it wasn't his mother who abandoned him in that basket. She was in a bad way when he was born and somebody took advantage of that situation to take him from the hospital without her knowing. Then she was told that he had died. Years later, she found out that wasn't the truth and started to look for him all over. Moisés wants to know who stole him and told her that he was dead. Oscar says that is nothing to be concerned about now. The important thing is that when his mother found out he was alive, she decided to look for him everywhere until she found him. His mother loves him a lot and that is why she never lost hope. All Moisés can do is hug Oscar.
The good father has Erika play chess with him as a way to keep her at his house and not rushing over to Oscar's to see Moisés. He tells he that Oscar needs time with Moisés.
Oscar asks Moisés if he would like to see Erika his mother. Yes, Moisés does. They agree that Oscar will go and bring her to see him. As Moisés cries and hugs him, Oscar says that his mother has showed up and that was something Moisés always wanted.
Franco feels guilty and tells Lucas that if it weren't for his "Rizo-Patrón" thing, Rosalía would have never gone looking for Lucía. He apologizes. Lucas says it was not his fault. It was an accident! (Yay! nobody playing the blame game.)
Celeste tells Oscar that Erika told her about Moisés. No, Erika didn't tell anyone else. She wants him to know that he can count on her for whatever he needs. He thanks her.
As Oscar leaves, the good father tells him "No hay mal que por bien no venga" Every cloud has a silver lining. Oscar answers with what the good father always tells him "God willing." When he is gone, the good father prays that it all turns out well.
The doctor says Rosalía is regaining mobility slowly as the inflammation lessens. There was no injury to her spinal cord. He has given Rosalía medicine to quicken her recovery. She should regain her mobility in a matter of hours. If she has a good night, he can discharge her tomorrow. Rosalía blames herself for everything. She should have listened to Lucas and not gone to see Lucía. He tells her what he told Franco. It was an accident, something you can't predict. She asks if they are going to be okay. He answers yes they will get over this together.
Carolina's lawyer is talking to a judge. He has looked at Carolina's file and sees that she has no previous convictions nor any problems with the authorities. He also has received a report that she has had no disagreements at the prison where she is being held. The lawyer explains that Carolina is a good person and that her husband took advantage of her to make her responsible for the company that he used to commit fraud. Then he washed his hands of the matter. She asks for home confinement for her client as she goes through the process of proving she is innocent. She has an eleven year old son that could pass to his father's custody at any time. The boy is currently with her client's sister who is a nun. Her client would be spending her home confinement at El Pilar convent.
Erika lives in Villa Hidalgo where she is a receptionist in a dentist's office. She asks what he likes to do. He likes to play with cars with his friend Andrés, climb trees, chase the sheep, pay hide and seek with his godfather. . . everything! She asks what he likes to eat. His favorite is bean tacos. She likes those, too!
She likes strawberry ice cream while he prefers vanilla. She tells him about an ice cream shop where all of the ice creams were different colors than what they usually are. . . . Oscar leaves them to chat on their own.
Lucía tells Diego she is going to stay today until she can see Rosalía.
Unknowingly, Lucía lays a guilt trip on Rosalía especially when she tell her friend that she loves her so very much and that she is the best thing that has happened to her. She has never had a friend like her.
Oscar tells Erika that she is free to stop by and visit her son any time she is in town. The doors of his house are always open to her. What he doesn't expect is her response. She is planning on moving to Monteverde. He is surprised she wants to pull up stakes and come to Monteverde. She says that her family lives in Tabasco. Now she has found her son, her life is where he is. She won't be leaving him alone. Oscar corrects her. Moisés is not alone. He has him. She understands and is grateful for all that he has done for her son but she is his mother. Oscar counters with: he is his father. He asks what is she up to anyway. Does she want to take Moisés away from him?
Great to see you on the patio, Adriana Noel. I hope life calms down enough so you can join us here more often!
Kat, the bad girl's name is Larisa. The actress was the bad girl in Las Hijas . The guy she wants to marry is Luciano . I don't know if the girl is his biological.daughter ,but she sure hates Larisa . The brother who wants her is Inigio , I think. Susan
Also, the brother with the glasses is Mateo . Inigo 's sweet wife is Nuria (Iran Castillo who has Been in novellas for a lot time ) I guess we will get things sorted out as time goes by . Susan
Jarifa, this was marvelous. An enthralling, beautifully written short story in and of itself.
"No hay mal que por bien no venga" Every cloud has a silver lining. Oscar answers with what the good father always tells him "God willing" touched my heart.
Rosalia losing her baby was so sad. I am so relieved that she hopefully will recover...will anyone think to call Nestor???
It must have been so difficult for Oscar to tell Moises everything about his mother but he did so with kindess and empathy. You could see the tenseness that enveloped him, terrified at the thought of losing his son. Moises was so joyous to meet Erika, his little face beaming. I reached for tissues more than once last night...
"Franco feels guilty and tells Lucas that if it weren't for his "Rizo-Patrón" thing, Rosalía would have never gone looking for Lucía. He apologizes. Lucas says it was not his fault. It was an accident! (Yay! nobody playing the blame game)" was so unexpected and heart wrenching. Lucas grows up and shows compassion right before our astonished eyes.
"Moisés wants to know who stole him and told her that he was dead". As do we dear child.
Oscar is so petrified he failed to realize that Erika moving to Monteverde rather than threatening to take him away was a blessing! Here is where Carolina needs to come in and help him see the light. We need her back in Monteverde it!
Thank you for all your generous time and dedication Jarifa. This was sensational.
Diana
Diana, yes, this was a very satisfying episode. : ) I agree that Carolina needs to be back in Monteverde! Now, will Franco come clean? Can’t wait for tonight!
I was surprised that Franco was asked to sign giving permission for the d and c. They aren't married so I didn't think a bf has that authority. I figured that was where Nestor would have been called
I was also surprised about the non blame game, except for Franco's self blame.
My stomach literally hurts in some scenes. Angelique was incredible, I think this is her best performance ever. All that suffering 😥
But, I don't understand the point to include that sadistic scene. This is not Game of thrones, we don't need another Ramsey Bolton.
Anon
Domenica
I have 3 possible explanations:
1.writers were drunk or drugged,
2.they wanted to send a message to rape wictims that is important to press charges, and talk to the therapist,
3. they simply wanted shock effect.
Anon
Kat, it seems like the doctor needed a signature immediately and was content to have Rosalía’s novio sign for her. I have seen this situation play out multiple times in novelas. It is almost like: Do you have a pulse and know the afflicted? Great! Sign here so we can deliver the necessary treatment. Who knows what the real law would say about this maneuver in Mexico.
Erika and Oscar continue their emotional conversation. My family lives in Tabasco Erika states. But now that I have found my son, my love, I will not leave him alone, I will be with him. I am his father Oscar protests; she counters with she is his mother. Oscar asks if she wants to take Moises away from him. She will be there in Monteverde, making it clear they will not be separated.
Lucia bids Franco and Lucas goodbye as Diego kisses her proprietarily on the head. Lucas and Franco, brothers of the flesh and heart hug.
Oscar comes into Moises’ bedroom asking about Andres. Moises asks how everything went with his mother. Moises tells his padrino how happy he is as they hug.
Erika comes home and Celeste asks her what occurred. She is glowing and practically floating on air. Celeste says how much Moises must have missed her. She is happy for Erika!
Oscar meanwhile is pouring himself a drink when he receives even more dire news. Franco arrives and tells him Rosalia was in an accident. Unfortunately, she lost the baby. And Lucas Oscar immediately asks. With her he answers. Franco then asks another life-changing question, what happened with Erika? She is Moises’ mother Oscar answers flatly. All you all right Franco asks his father. Moises is happy Oscar replies with an impassive expression.
Lucia calls Rosalia who tells her she is better. Franco knocks, asking if he can come in. He hugs Rosalia as she grimaces. In an emotional scene, he apologizes but she, taking the high road of kindness and forgiveness, says no, it was an accident. He hugs her again leaning down.
Oscar is with his son pacing the hospital corridor. He hugs Lucas who thanks him calling him “pa”.
Carolina has a visitor.
I am so sorry Oscar tells Rosalia as he sits on her bed holding her hand. Franco and Lucas stand by supportively as she moves to sit up.
Carolina’s lawyer has good news! She has been granted home confinement at El Pilar convent! You are the best lawyer in the world Carolina effuses. They hug as the guard chastises them for touching.
Diana
Lucia is working Aquiles out when Franco shows up much to Pancho’s surprise. With a concerned look on her face, Lucia comes over asking if something has happened to Rosalia. No, but he needs to talk with her. She asks to finish her workout first.
Aida is delighted for her cellmate. Carolina thanks her for everything she has done for her as they share a huge hug.
Lucas walks a bruised and battered Rosalia into her bedroom and helps her get in bed. He is so concerned and worried, distraught about the loss of their family.
Franco is here to tell Lucia the truth. Arturo doesn’t exist. Let me explain he tells a stern-faced Lucia. He explains that she wouldn’t take the job if you knew it was me. She is furious. He begs forgiveness but her anger remains unabated.
Andres and Moises are outside at Oscar’s when they come across hermana Celeste. I have good news Celeste tells him. Come in, come in Moises says. At first, she resists but she finally does.
Rat Padilla tells Carlos that Moises is in Monteverde at Oscar’s ranch! Carlos rages saying Moises is HIS hijo. He stares angrily as he digests this most unwelcome news.
Celeste calls Carolina just as she is preparing to be transported in a police car. She relates she has been granted home confinement at the convent.
Celeste tells Andres that Carolina is leaving jail. He rejoices saying she is free! Not exactly Celeste allows, she is going to be staying at the convent. Moises happily pats his friend on the shoulder. She is innocent Andres says! He wants to visit just as Oscar comes in saying they can’t go to the jail to visit. He is then told she is not in jail she is going to the convent.
Lucia pleads she isn’t feeling well to Diego. He understands and asks her to be calm. I notice she doesn’t tell him what Franco did.
Carolina is going to convent of my congregation Celeste explains. Oscar rightly wants the boys to stay there and is not in favor of them visiting Carolina, even at the convent. The boys plead. No is no. He is firm and tells Moises to go to his room.
Diana
Madre Gustava is told Carolina and her police escort have arrived. Madre signs the papers and is told Carolina is now her responsibility. Carolina profusely thanks Madre Gustava, “de nada” is the reply. I believe the Madre says she doesn’t want any surprises. 😊
Moises and Andres keep pestering Oscar.
Later, Oscar tells Moises that Rosalia was in a car accident and sadly lost the baby. Moises repeats this slowly as he processes it. Lucas is very sad Oscar says as the little lad looks devastated saying his mother thought he was dead. Oscar then tells Moises that Erika is staying in Monteverde! Moises is on cloud nine. Andres says that his mother is free so joy abounds for the boys. Oscar’s office phone rings and the boys run saying it’s Carolina (guess no one else calls him). I am in the convent she tells her beloved son. He then tells her Moises’ mother is back. Poor Oscar she says into the receiver. When Andres questions her, she quickly corrects herself. Carolia sends Moises hugs. She sends Andres her love; Andres tells her he loves her.
Wow, it appears Juan David and Angelina have finished filling out the mound of paperwork, so excited about them becoming a municipality.
Moises wants to accompany Oscar to see Rosalia.
Lucia sits in bed crying as she thinks about talking with Poncho, then the flowers which she realizes were from Franco. She wipes away tears as Diego comes in. What is it? She lies, saying she is thinking about Rosalia. She wants to see her; he asks to accompany her but she wants to go alone. Diego stares stonily into thin air.
Franco and Oscar arrive in Rosalia’s room with Moises and Andres. Moises and Andres bear a huge floral bouquet as Oscar voices his caring and support for her, calling her family. Thank you for the surprise Rosalia tells the boys with a smile. Oscar and the boys prepare to leave as Father Gabriel arrives. How is Rosalia Father asks as Lucas takes him into her room.
Carolina thanks Madre Gustava, telling her about what her experience in jail was. A few other things were said which I wish I could have translated.
Rosalia asks Father Gabriel about Oscar; he tells her about Erika. “Lo siento mucho” father laments as she cries about the loss of her baby. He offers her comfort as Lucas looks on concernedly.
Franco talks with a serious-looking Hugo; something was said about Julieta which I couldn’t catch. Hugo sighs.
Diana
The boys and Oscar visit the inn. Moises flies into Erika’s arms. The boys settle in for a snack as Celeste and Erika set the table.
Lucia brings Rosalia cupcakes. Lucia tells Rosalia that Franco confessed the truth; she feels like the biggest fool. Rosalia looks upset and cries but Lucia tells her none of this is her fault as Lucas listens at the door.
The completed municipality paperwork is taken to the local office.
Franco arrives at Lucas’ and asks him how Rosalia is. We see Lucia is still there and goes to the door to listen to their conversation. I believe he tells Lucas he told Lucia the truth and that Lucas says something to the effect that Franco had good intentions. I think something was also said about Julieta.
The boys are enjoying warm soup and bread when the subject of Carolina comes up. Celeste explains to Erika that Carolina is Andres’ mother. It’s a long story she begins. Andres is sitting there on cloud nine…
In the last scene of the evening, Oscar goes to his office picking up a picture of him and Moises. He puts it on his desk and brings up Carolina’s picture on his phone. He dials!! The phone rings and we see Carolina is in her room. She looks at the phone and says “Oscar” as she smiles.
A family devastated by the loss of Rosalia’s child are nevertheless bonded by the overarching theme of the power of forgiveness, family and love.
Now that Carlos knows Andres is at Oscar’s, it will likely be a nanosecond before he finds out Carolina has been released to “convent confinement.” There is no doubt that Carlos will strike, attempting to recoup his son but when and how remains to be revealed.
Diana
Thank you, Diana. I found your third part and it inserted itself in the right order.
Erika makes it clear that she has no intentions of taking Moisés away from Oscar. Her son's family is in Monteverde and Oscar is his father. She only wants to be close to her son and be able to see him every day. Her life changed when she saw her son. She smiles and thanks Oscar for allowing her to see her son. She leaves.
(My choice for best scene of the night): Moisés thinks that his mother is cool and asks what Oscar thinks. Oscar likes her. Moisés cannot contain his enthusiasm and thanks his father for letting her come and see him. He cannot believe that he has a mother! He notices the melancholy on Oscar's face and suspects that he is afraid that he is going to love his mother more than him. Oscar tries to laugh and deny it but Moisés says he knows him. He tells Oscar not to worry. He has known him from way way way way before (basically forever). He hugs his father.
Erika is going to Villa Hidalgo the next day to pick up her things and is moving to Monteverde. She will be looking for a job.
Oscar tells Franco that he wants to go see Rosalía the next day.
Rosalía tells Lucía that she has been discharged and is only waiting for the paperwork before she leaves. Lucía will come see her after work.
Oscar will take Rosalía home with Lucas.
Franco prefaces his confession to Lucía by saying he knows she isn't going to like what he has to tell her. Lucía says that what Rosalía said all makes sense now. She accuses him of having pulled one over on her making her look like a fool. He argues that he, the horse and her experience are real, not fake. She answers that the only thing that is fake is him. He admits he made a mistake so now all he can do is apologize. She says that he played with her feelings and is nothing but an immature liar. She is out of there.
Moisés takes Celeste into Oscar's house so she can make her call to Carolina's lawyer.
It turns out that "Rat" Padilla's informant is no other than Trinidad! Carlos tells him that he is going to go get Andrés and take him where nobody will ever find them.
Andrés tells Oscar that he wants to go see his mother because it is going to be his birthday and asks if Moisés can go too. Oscar reminds Celeste that the reason that Andrés is on the ranch is so that his father cannot find him. Celeste is grateful for that BUT. . . Oscar asks her if it makes sense to take two little boys into the city. She explains it would be a lightning fast trip. They would go and come back the same day. Moisés suggests that Oscar come along, too. In spite of the boys' begging, Oscar refuses and makes it clear that Moisés will not be going. He also tells Celeste again that he thinks it is a serious mistake taking Andrés to Mexico City. She disagrees saying she would never put Andrés at any risk. He argues if that is what she wants to do, why not leave him in Monteverde.
Moisés tells Andrés that now all that they need is for his mother to marry his father so they can have a really big family!!
Juan David and Angelina are all excited about being public servants!
Carolina wants a job at the convent to pay for her keep. Mother Gustava will not have it. She is offering her room and board because she understands the cross she is carrying. It is her way of showing her the charity that the Lord commands her to do. That changes when Carolina tells her she needs something to do to take her mind off of her problems. Mother Gustava assigns her to the laundry starting the next day at 9:00. Carolina is ready to leave but Mother Gustava wants to hear all about what life was like on the inside. Carolina shares one of the worst experiences of her life . . .
Hugo tells Franco that he knew he was playing with fire when he started it all. Franco agrees saying that now he has lost Lucía for good. What they had is over and she is making a life with Diego. Maybe he should leave Monteverde to forget her. He is planning on going to Perú to be with Julieta when their baby is born. He is excited about being a father and it would make getting over Lucía easier.
At the inn, Moisés is all excited about his mother moving to town. She asks Oscar if she can spend the afternoon with her son. They agree to come up with some sort of schedule. Celeste and Erika have made dinner. The boys beg to stay. Oscar says they can. Oscar is invited to eat, too, but he decides to leave.
He will send Agustín to pick them up later. The boys happily set the table.
Lucía tells Rosalía that it hurts her to the bottom of her soul that she ended up injured only because she had to tell her about the Franco situation. Rosalía is not to blame for any of this. No, Lucía is not angry with her.
Lucas tells Lucía that although it was a crazy way of doing it, Franco only wanted to make her happy. She tells Lucas that Franco was wrong. After Lucas leaves, Lucía says she has not told Diego and doesn't know if she wants to.
Lucía overhears Franco tell Lucas that he told Lucía the whole truth. He only wanted to make her happy but that is not how it turned out. It is time for him to face the reality that he has lost Lucía forever. So, he is gong to go to Perú to be with Julieta. (musical novias??? is that the name of the game???)
Erika asks if she can go along on the trip to Mexico City. Celeste says of course she can. No, they are not flying but are going by bus. BOTH of the boys are now excited about going.
Looks like Diego is starting to see the writing on the wall. Lucía and Franco deserve each other. Diego needs somebody more serious.
How will Oscar react now that Moisés thinks he is going to Mexico City because his mother is going even though Oscar told him NO!!!
Would Andrés be safer at the convent than at Oscar's now that Carlos knows he is living with Oscar? Would the police be able to walk in and search a convent (as a church, traditionally a place of refuge?)as they would private property? Wondering about the law in Mexico once again.
Whatever, I am sure it will be a good watch tonight.
Jarifa, another riveting summary. Your insight and observations are unparalleled. Just marvelous.
Thank you for "unearthing" treasures such as "He notices the melancholy on Oscar's face and suspects that he is afraid that he is going to love his mother more than him. Oscar tries to laugh and deny it but Moisés says he knows him. He tells Oscar not to worry. He has known him from way way way way before (basically forever)" which had me choking up a bit.
Oh noes. Sister Celeste is making a grave mistake asking the boys be brought to Carolina! Thankfully, Oscar is resolutely against it, but I fear he will cave in the face of begging and pleading by the boys...Further, I can't believe Celeste is allowing Erika to go with them to Mexico City as Oscar is forbidding the trip. Well at least for now.
"It turns out that "Rat" Padilla's informant is no other than Trinidad!" An important revelation; traitor she!!!
"...Mother Gustava wants to hear all about what life was like on the inside. Carolina shares one of the worst experiences of her life . . ." Loving Mother G.
"...he is gong to go to Perú to be with Julieta. (musical novias??? is that the name of the game???)" is exactly right. Huh??
I feel as though the usually wise Celeste is throwing caution and reasoning to the wind! Whatever is she thinking. Oh wait - she's not!
Jarifa, thank you for your wise and illuminating comments. I so appreciate your restoring my comment as well.
I'll be on the edge of my seat for toinight's episode!!
Diana
Thanks once again. Rosalia went from being a potential quadriplegic to release from the hospital in 24 hours! What a remarkable recovery! Diana, Juan David sure did get through that mountain of paperwork quickly. Good to see he's no longer at the Caracamo and Doris' beck and call.
I agree that Diego deserves a better girlfriend. Lucia doesn't need another jealous guy either.
Wonder if Nestor is permanently out of the show.
Yeah, going to the convent may be safer for the boys. Carlos is likely on his way back to Monteverde. Does Trinidad go off to Oscar's property to receive calls or texts from Padilla? I guess they could be using snail mail.
Sorry I didn't watch this show with you . What is the name of Marcelo Cordoba's character ? I know that he played a villain , so I didn't want to watch him play a villain . I like to see him play a good guy ! However, I am curious about his storyline . How bad was be ? Will he get an anvil ? Susan.
Thanks Kat!
Yes, Rosalia went from a devastating diagnosis to a quick release.
You asked a very interesting question about Nestor. I thought that he would have been back but I can only speculate no one bothered to tell him that Rosalia lost the baby. That said, he never told her he was leaving or made any attempt to reach out. Stone cold. Also, will we ever see Eva again? I can't believe she hasn't been back to check on Franco.
"Does Trinidad go off to Oscar's property to receive calls or texts from Padilla? I guess they could be using snail mail". You might well be right. She hasn't been around much if at all (nor have a few of the other women). I can't believe she is in league with him.
Diana
Susan, I'm really sorry you weren't with us...
Carlos' storyline is heating up. We haven't seen too much of him but he has appeared and now knows his wife and Oscar are in love. The background is that framed his wife Carolina for the fraud he committed. He has just found out that his son is hiding at Oscar's ranch and he plans to spirit him away where Carolina will never be able to find him. Tonight I fear Andres, his son, his friend Moises (Oscar's son) and Sister Celeste (Carolina's twin) will be going to visit the convent where Carolina is under house arrest.
Too soon to say what his anvil will be but tonight should be a nail biter.
Diana
Diana, thanks. I gave up on this, show because it was on so late, and whenever I recorded it , I couldn't find the time to watch it !!! Maybe we will watch a novel together in the near future !!! Susan
