I wanted to be sure our regulars had commented before I replied to all your excellent remarks about the finale.

Anastasia, great comment about how Alya may have recognized Hamada. IIRC Alya was in the car when it was t-boned, killing Boran. I had been thinking Hamada had just arranged the hit, but maybe he was the driver. I can’t delete your duplicate post since I am not the author of this week’s pages.

K, Mine is delusional. She isn’t thinking everyone at the konak will dislike her. She’s thinking she’ll get Cihan back if Alya is not around. I see your point about Canada but, from what I’ve seen, sections where someone is in a different country than Turkey are rare in dizis. I doubt there was a mistake about the sex of Mine’s baby. My former boss announced to me the male sex of his baby by saying he saw “danglies” in the ultrasound.

Dondi, yep, there surely will be some regret on the part of (some) Alboras for what happened to Nadim Baybars. Maybe he’ll make a full recovery. I hope your usual spidey sense is off about Nare/Sahin. Could it be possible that a chastened Sadakat might leave them alone? That was a tepid kiss, but he did do that forceful pulling of the length of Alya’s body right into his own. And I’m anticipating more passionate kisses in July.

Maggie, yep, Demir just pulled a gun and only one person noticed. Plus, did he think he could kill Kaya in broad daylight with impunity and in front of a dozen witnesses? LOL about Cihan not getting Mine pregnant with kisses like that. And ITA that, since Kaya decided to accept Ipek, he shouldn’t have sulked at the ceremony. I understand your criticism of Cihan. But I just saw him as a victim of trauma. He’s lived his whole life in this culture, and he lost the woman he loved to the mores they seem to live with. It seems Turkish men are brought up to revere their mothers. It took him a long time, but he was ready to remove her from his life with Alya.

I enjoyed the finale of this season. I recall that dizis don’t show much passion. I liked the full length embrace!

Even If Cihan went to Canada, the bad guys would track him down like Boran. I fear there is nowhere “safe.”

During this whole season, I have had the growing opinion that the natural leader of the Alboras is Sahin. Don’t know if that will come to pass but he seems better suited than Cihan. Cihan does it very well, but he wanted to be a musician IIRC. Sahin has been fun to watch develop. I love him with Nare. They would be a formidable power couple. Ecmel is awful, but maybe he can be eliminated one way or the other.

I’m so glad we get another season in July!!!

Thanks for organizing, Novelera.

Babachita

Agree the kiss was not passionate enough for us, but I chalked it up to Turkish censorship and the resulting reluctance for the actors to do a passionate kiss. One or both of them is supposed to tilt their heads slightly to get noses out of the way, for starters and why didn't Alya bring her right arm up to put it around Cihan to return his passion? After all, we know she decides to stay. They may have been depicting her surprise, but the kiss was long enough for her to relax into it.

"CASILLAS"
Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my super-short recap of last night's episode.

*Crazy Rancho roughs up Nutty Lucy, who admits that Aurelio is the Baby Daddy of La Mamba: Maury Povich MIC DROP.

*We see a shootout between the Casillas family & federal law enforcement agencies.

*Lizzie has Annoying Laura & Santita handed over to the DEA or FBI. I strongly believe that Lizzie really wants Ismael all to herself!

*General Cifuentes injects all of the concoction device into Isidro, who is badly EXPLETIVE up.

*Creepy Tibeiro suffers some breathing problems while he was stuffing money from the secret cave, which explodes & it means he'll never get out alive LOL.

*La Mamba gets arrested by federal law enforcement & we see her going back to prison. My question is when will she find out that she's a member of the Casillas family ?

Maggie, great comments. Alya was much better when the writers stopped her endless screaming about everything. I liked her a lot more when she faced the situation at hand and calmly asserted her position. That takes real strength.

That forehead kiss is kind of a commitment to care, protect, and respect. I like when the bride steps on the groom’s foot. Nare did that.

Babachita, I liked your take on Sahin being the Albora leader and his relationship with Nare. ITA they would make a good power couple. I hope they are not forced to divorce. We just have to get rid of Sada and Ecmel.

Perhaps one can chalk passionless kissing scenes up to censorship, as productions can get fined. But I’ve seen much more convincing kisses in recent dizis. This was unnecessarily bad. I’ve heard that certain actors don’t like doing intimate scenes/kissing for personal reasons. And it might be true in this case. That’s all I will say.

Lejos

A huge thank you to all of you ladies who made it possible for us to follow along with this story!!! I appreciate all your efforts, hard work and explanations of Turkish culture. This was quite the ride. Alya had to have felt she was dropped into a different universe when she arrived at the Alboras home having lived in Canada. And Cihan needs to delegate! At one point I had to laugh when he was getting prob after prob dropped on him. Mine was besides herself with joy and old Sad was just a mess. THE KISS…finally! But the actors seemed uncomfortable to me during it even tho they had waited all that time and maybe that’s how the Director called it. It’s going to be hard to wait til July but I hope Telemundo does show it and it doesn’t have it moved to VIX instead. Anyway I wanted to thank you all and I’ll retire my embattled beanie for now. SaraAnne

Lejos

I thought of how they could have done the kiss better! They could have had Cihan do that thing where he would take her by the waist and bend her way back, so he’s hovering over her. They could shoot the bending, and then shoot from behind Cihan so that we can’t see their faces, we’d just see his shoulders. Oooh so romantic! And the actors wouldn’t have to kiss at all.

Speaking of kisses, I often wondered how they were shot. I mean, we always get to see both actors’ faces, and those faces never get smooshed like happens in real life. Besides, kissing is fun to do, but when people really go at it, kinda gross to watch.

I actually read an article about how they do it! They said the actors just go for one lip, kiss the one, but not both! Well, we don’t see kissing in the dizis, but take a look at a Spanish-language TN and sure enough, that’s what they’re doing. What a hoot

I thought they implied La Mamba was the Generals daughter since they did that flashback to the past

"CASILLAS"
Anon: I meant to say La Mamba might be the daughter of General Cifuentes.

Apologies because I have been distracted by the 2026 Winter Olympics on NBC 4 WOAI-TV San Antonio.

OT

I could use some clarification. I just put up pages for next week that will appear at 8PM Monday and Thursday (5PM Pacific time). We have a label for Poder y Traición that's included. It's "golden". But I didn't include the dizi in the heading nor in the text since it's running at 12:30AM. It doesn't seem to make much sense to put it in the usual listings of programs in the text. It would not work to list the 12:30 AM time because people might tune in and see an episode weeks after it's already started. Unless someone has a better idea, I think we could just use the golden label at the beginning of any comment going forward. Those who are only watching Lobo will know to skip the golden comments.

OT

What does “golden” mean?

Maggie

OT

I believe the English translation of the Turkish title is Golden Boy.

"CASILLAS"
Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my super-short recap of last night's episode.

*Dondi356, Anon, Halimacandy, Babachita, SpanProf, Darcy & Co: It was satisfying to see General Cifuentes going unhinged after President Carmela Serrano fires.

*Lizzie goes to prison & gets pushed around by the other female inmates.

*La Mamba gets viciously beaten up by the other female inmates. We also see Roberta taking DNA samples, blood from her I'm assuming 🤔.

*General Cifuentes having his soldiers put Isidro into the mine with explosives strapped on the kid.

*Crazy Rancho & Parcero scheming & plotting. Why do I get the feeling they're going to be sticking around next season ?

*Slippery Horacio is determined to get rid of Paco & Horacio's obsession with Hothead Diana is escalating.

*Wondering if Gullible Angela & Carlos might become a potential couple?

*Crazy Vic & Ofelia plotting the next steps. Of course, Jorge (former law enforcement officer) is pissed off at seeing Ofelia, who greeted him with her trusty gun pointed at his back.

*Nutty Lucy is still Nutty Lucy.

*Ismael & Co., figuring out how to rescue Isidro from danger, etc.,

*More of Ligia & Roberta. I wouldn't mind seeing a future spin-off with these two LOL.

*Annoying TV News Reporter is so irritating & annoying OMG.

I was waiting for the Lejos comments to wrap before discussing this.

IMHO, Telemundo was foolish to put this late night. This is certainly better viewing than Exatlon or Casa de Famosos. I don’t get these reality shows.

I’d love to have a patio. The time slot and the fact that we’re already on episode 30 makes viewing and commenting as a patio a bit tricky.

Perhaps a note on the page to say we are starting? And then we can do something like we do with KPA on the daytime y mas page—set up a schedule that gives us time to view and comment on the eps? A general note at the bottom that we watch as scheduled? I defer to novelera and Juanita since they generously take on weekly work.

I have a cast list ready to post and a brief introduction similar to the Telemundo description. Maybe I can get a head start on a couple of recaps this weekend to post when we are ready.

golden

Sounds good. I’ll be there. I’m not sure I can do any long summaries but I can do shorter ones and comment. Glad we are getting started.

Babachita

Golden. I've held off getting too far into this when it looked like a patio was forming. I'm ready whenever it's a go.

golden

To clarify, dondi, would you be putting up recaps that begin where Telemundo is airing them, i.e., Episode 30 (Turkish eps or dubbed in Spanish ones?) I seem to remember the idea being kicked around of beginning from the beginning by streaming it on ?? (memory is not what it used to be). This is definitely tricky. I will start Lobo, probably putting up the first episode as I've done sometimes. That may bring others who prefer ones originating in Spanish.

I can make Monday's page back into a draft and include a brief note about golden. I never learned the trick of putting a link "read more" so as to add a lot more text to the page when said link is clicked. A brief note would probably work if it was slightly more than what I just wrote in this paragraph. I await a description like that to re-do Monday's page.

Well, I posted that comment from my tablet which apparently has me signed out. Back to my phone now.

Thank you, novelera. I plan on starting from the beginning with Telemundo episode 1 to get the patio in sync. Maybe it will also be a helpful review for those who already started. I'm not sure how to space out the episodes since most of us can't watch live so late at night.

And thanks for starting Lobo for us. I love your gran estreno recaps. I don't know how closely I'll be watching that going forward.

golden

I find three episodes a week nice for kpa. Maybe we could do that. However, this story is so compelling we might want to do more. It’s hard not to binge. I’m good with whatever is chosen.

They are available on Peacock and probably Telemundo app as well.

They are be available in services like mine, YouTubeTv. BUT, lately Telemundo broadcasts the episodes late, using the first half hour for Pelotazo. You have to record the following program Caso Cerrado to get the whole hour, half in each. I wish they’d fix this.

So, it’s good we won’t be watching on the broadcast schedule!

We managed five a week for Lejos. This might just replace that in our schedules.

Babachita

Golden

I really want to binge this to catch up with the broadcast! Definitely try to fit 5 per week. Maybe weekends can be used to catch up if people get behind. I would never expect to watch this at the scheduled time, and now I'm worried the episodes I've recorded are only going to be half episodes as I have YouTube TV also, Babachita!

golden

I have YouTube TV and I have full episodes recorded.

I agree the late night is an issue. If the episodes are after midnight, when do most of us plan on watching? I might not be able to watch until evening.

If we are not in sync, how should we schedule and post any summaries/recaps? What about having time for the patio to comment on an episode?

No one should stop watching ahead if they prefer, but we have a no spoiler rule. I would find it hard to avoid a spoiler if a recap, summary, or comment is not clearly labeled with the episode number and if it's way ahead of where most of us are.

I plan to post my cast list and plot description shortly. I have a full first episode recap almost done. If we agree, I'll post that on the new Monday night page. I’d love to commit to recapping and post the edits and extras, but I can’t do it 5 days a week with my current schedule.

I hope we can work something out for everyone's benefit. I am so happy to have the opportunity to view and discuss this dizi with my Caray friends.

golden

Glad your YouTubeTv records full episodes, dondi. I’m in the Central Time zone, and it might be local or just Central time. Earlier full episodes were recording but a few weeks ago the Pelotazo show started being inserted.
I’m guessing the Telemundo app will also work. I will use Peacock Premium. It might be on Peacock gratis, too. YouTubeTv sometimes lets me see other shows after they air, often with a commercial.

It’s possible it’s on YouTube but not sure about Spanish dubbing, cc’s, etc.

Since we are starting six weeks late and presumably won’t do more than five a week, it seems like we won’t catch up to live. So, what time we watch won’t matter.

I can do some summaries once you get us started, Dondi. It’s much easier if it’s already available so it’s not such a one-night marathon.

Our kpa procedure works well. Maybe one episode per weekday. If I had Monday to do episode 6, for example, I’d try to post something on Monday by noon. Discussion could ensue after that. If we just all comment, we can do it anytime. We will have to keep an eye out not to spoil by getting ahead of the schedule.

I’m flexible. These are just ideas.

Babachita

golden

After re-reading your last entry, Dondi, I see the problem trying to do Monday during the day as the page doesn’t go up until the evening. So, a slight change would be the first summary of a given week would be for Tuesday morning, etc etc.

To set it up as we do kpa, it would look like this:

golden 1-5:
Tuesday. Episode 1 Dondi
Wed Episode 2 (Name of summarizer)
Thurs Episode 3 (Name of summarizer)
Fri Episode 4 ( Name of summarizer)
Saturday Episode 5 (Name of summarizer)

The understanding is that the episode would be watched the day before or that morning and summary published by noon on the indicated day. Comments open after that.

Just a suggestion.

Can’t wait!

Babachita

Here is what I added to Page 1 that will appear tomorrow (Monday). Does this work for everyone?

We have some dizi fans who plan to watch Poder y Traición, which is running very late on Telemundo. More news to follow. In brief, the patriarch of the Korhan family looks for a wife to straighten out his irresponsible younger grandson, Ferit. Suna, one of the daughters of the ambitious Kazim, is chosen. But everything changes when the bridegroom chooses Seyran, the wrong sister. She then enters a family full of betrayals and secrets.

This is my translation of the Spanish introduction on the Telemundo web site. There was a lot more. But, as I mentioned, it has to fit on the page.

plot description

The dizi involves two families that will be connected by an incredible love story. Ferit, from a rich Istanbul family, is well known for his partying and promiscuity. On the orders of his grandfather Halis, a marriage will be arranged for him with a girl from the grandfather's hometown, Gaziantep (aka Antep), to curtail his scandalous ways. Pelin is Ferit’s girlfriend, more like a “friend with benefits”.

Ferit argues his case with his mother and reluctantly agrees to the arranged marriage on the condition that she helps him to continue living his life as before and continue his relationship with Pelin.

Suna Şanlı is chosen as Ferit’s bride. Suna is looking forward to marriage as a way of escaping life with her abusive father, Kazim. Her younger sister, Seyran, has a boyfriend whom she secretly meets, but her real goal is to go to college and live independently.

A fateful meeting between Seyran and Ferit happens in a baklava shop, and they immediately clash. Neither realize that they are about to become in-laws. When the Korhans come to ask for Suna’s hand, Ferit takes an impulsive step that sets the story in motion.

Golden

Thanks Dondi for getting us started. I have a question as I'm rather new to dizis. Is yali a place or the name given to where the Korhan family lives, maybe compare it to a family ranch or hacienda perhaps?

golden

Your schedule looks doable, Babachita. Even if there’s no summary for the day, we can still discuss with no worries. In that case, I think I might include an episode number on my comment.

novelera, I provided a slightly longer description for us, but what you have for the page is fine. It might generate more interest.

Kat, "yalı" refers to a waterfront mansion in Istanbul along the Bosphorus.

golden

Dondi, if you publish the first episode by Tuesday noon, I can do episode 2 by Wed noon.

That leaves
Episode 3 by Thurs(noon)
Episode 4 by Fri (noon)
and Episode 5 by Sat (noon)

Babachita

golden

Because it will be easy to have spoilers, putting the episode number will be important for summaries and comments, as you suggested Dondi!

Babachita

Good point, Babachita about Epi numbers.

Golden
Babachita, since the show is 30 episodes in, posting Mondays shouldn't be an issue if we are starting with episode 1. Now if we tried to play catch up by binging, it could become an issue, but that doesn't seem to be the direction we are heading. Looking forward to this and I will try to recap one day if needed.
