Howdy from the Alamo City CarayCaray Family. Here's my super-short recap of last night's episode.
*Crazy Vic somehow saved Annoying Laura & Santita from Creepy Tibeiro.
*Creepy Tibeiro got stabbed with the concoction device courtesy of Crazy Vic.
*General Cifuentes gets unhinged when he found out that Tibeiro got killed & Creepy Vic rubbed it in Cifuentes' face.
*Annoying TV News Reporter broadcasting the news of the airport incident.
*President Carmela Serrano is so thin-skinned & triggered LOL.
*Looks like Isabel might've set Isidro up & the authorities arrested Isidro.
Brief recap if anyone needs it before tonight's episode.
Ozcan had another blood clot and died. The funeral was held. Sadakat was awful.
Much discussion/argument about where Mine and the baby would live. Sadakat was awful.
Kaya went to a restaurant to meet his potential bride. (Sadakat gets half a point because she suggested he meet her before the arranged wedding.) At least bridey is nice-looking. Zerrin and Demir arrived at the same restaurant. Bridey (Ipek?) may catch on that Kaya and Zerrin have a back story.
Ha! “Sadakat was awful” sums up every episode, doesn’t it? There is probably a cultural reason why her kids don’t tell her to piss off and at least stop dining with her, but they really should move out. Nare mentioned selling the house, which means she owns it and has (had) a chance to leave and she’s blowing it. Where is Fidan when we need her, now that Fiko is gone?
Are they setting up another “the kids can’t be with each other so they’ll fall in love with someone else instead” scenario? Can’t tell if Demir is one his way to being a good guy or not. Of course, his wife carrying Kaya’s baby complicates that possibility.
The mix of very modern attitudes (women’s dress and careers) and very old (arranged marriages) is interesting in these Turkish shows.
K
I was wondering the same thing. This woman (old Sad) will never win Miss Congeniality at this rate! Why don’t any of the adult kids stand up to her over her constant venom spewing! I could hardly stand her vile snarling at Alya. But I thought Alya, even in a state of shock, handled her so well. Do you think some of Sadakat’s behavior with Mine is fueled by her memories of her own treatment by Ecmel long ago? She exhibits so much smoldering hatred.
This is great, Anastasia! You summed it up very well.
Kat, I agree that Sadakat is the worst of the worst. She’s my favorite antagonista ever! Usually the TN baddies do some things that make me gasp, but Sadakat says something shocking and appalling nearly every sentence she utters. Terrific work on the part of the writers! The actress is doing a great job with her part too.
Maggie
When Kaya arrived to meet his potential arranged bride, once again there were tables set out in full sun with no umbrellas. The way the characters are dressed right now suggests it’s hot out. And the only person who wears sunglasses is Demir. Are people supposed to sit there and roast and squint?
By the time they filmed the two sitting back down the patio had fallen into shadow. That was fast - ha!
Maggie
Thanks for getting us started, Anastasia.
I suppose it's realistic, but I was SO pleased with the defiant Alya who practically spit in Sadakat's face. Now they seem to be showing her reacting to the news of the pregnancy and pulling away from Cihan.
Kaya was going to get up and leave. Ipek was certainly refreshingly honest. But, of course, Demir showed up, again grasping Zerrin's hand. Kaya still hasn't grown up. How old is he supposed to be? And his sister STILL hasn't told him how awful it is to marry someone you don't love when the one you do love is still around.
SaraAnne, most of us here have come to the conclusion that what happened with Ecmel when she was a young, pregnant woman seems to be at the root of what drives Sadakat. I am also constantly shocked at the rather mild response, at least to me, by her adult children. Everything is about dominance. Why in the world would Nare sell that house? Do women never live alone in southern Turkey. I'd have raced over there right after the funeral to get away from Sadakat. Thanks for reminding me, K, that the sale was mentioned.
What seems like a very long time ago, Sadakat had a health problem. This is when she recognized the obstetrician who treated her when she was pregnant with Boran. Come on, writers, give her that big stroke that Ozkan had!
The boy playing Deniz is a very good little actor. And he's great at pretending to be asleep. Last night that sprawled out on his back and sound asleep scene was perfect.
No wonder the Alboras are slender. Sadakat drives them away from every meal.
Thank you, Anastasia.
Lol, “Sadakat was awful”. She’s one of the worst I’ve seen in recent memory. ITA, the actor is doing a good job If we are strictly speaking of female villains, I still think Azize from Hercai (played by the wonderful Ayda Aksel) was more interesting and worse. Her revenge stemmed from circumstances similar to Sadakat’s. Neyse… the Turks portray villainy well.
You’re right K. There is a cultural reason why these people are like this. It is interesting in these aşiret dizis. Mine lives alone but she’s not from that area. I was a little surprised that Ipek was allowed to meet with Kaya alone, even if it was in a public place.
“No wonder the Alboras are slender. Sadakat drives them away from every meal.” Good one, novelera.
Dondi356: I missed last night's episode because I was distracted by the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Winter Olympics on NBC 4 WOAI-TV San Antonio.
Did anything crazy happened ?
Can anyone tell me how long the Uzak Sehir turkish episodes are? I think those for Bajar run 2-2.5 hours. And how often do they run? Weekly? Or 5X a week? I did watch the first episode of the second season of Bajar but quit due to the length of the episode and my lack of Turkish. I think I can find Uzak Sehir with English subtitles. I want to keep going with these people.
I watched Friday's Lejos (Uzak Sehir) this morning, but I understand someone else is scheduled to do the recap. Last night, like Steve, I watched the Olympics Opening Ceremony.
Hi Anastasia, I'm about to post my Friday recap. I wanted to answer you first. Uzak Sehir Turkish episodes are about the same length as Bahar's. (Most weekly Turkish dizis are 2 to 2.5 hours.) It is weekly in Türkiye but they are already up to episode 49 or 50. We are currently at the end of 26 out of 27 in the first Turkish season.
You can find the Turkish episodes on Dailymotion with decent enough English subtitles. There are ads though.
I'm waiting to see if Telemundo intends to continue this. If so, I'll wait for the patio to start up again. If not I'll probably continue at some point with the Turkish eps.
#72 part 1
Slight rewind: Sada and Mine have a conversation in the hospital hallway while Alya is nearby. Sada says she’s started to prepare the baby’s room at the konak and when the baby is born, Mine will come to the konak, too.
Mine is appreciative and invites Sada for a coffee. Alya speaks up, not too much coffee, Mine. Doctor’s orders.
Kaya eats and glances over at Zerrin. Ipek asks, what made you change your mind? Kaya replies, we started talking and I think it could work. Ipek leans in. Really? Our families expect you to come to the house with flowers to ask for my hand and what you want to do is to talk? Kaya replies, fine, then I’ll do that and we’ll get married right away. He looks over at Zerrin. Zerrin is glaring back.
Ipek warns, I’m not just any girl. I am the daughter of a tribal chief. If you change your mind, he’ll kill you. Kaya smiles and nods, this is a good conversation. We are making progress. Afiyet olsun. Ummu Abla is an amazing cook, he says, you’ll eat well at the konak. Ipek looks interested.
Zerrin looks sick. Demir goes into concerned mode. Are you okay? Zerrin says she’s a bit dizzy. She gets up. He wants to walk with her. They pass Kaya and Ipek. Ipek stops Zerrin. Good morning. Zerrin greets her and says, we came to eat. Kaya is surprised—you two know each other? Yes, Ipek answers, we’re both economics majors. I’m a freshman and Zerrin is a junior. Demir introduces himself as Zerrin’s husband.
Ipek continues, it looks like Kaya and I are getting married. Tension is in the air. Zerrin finally manages a weak, really? That’s great. Congratulations. Demir adds his best wishes. You make a lovely couple. Zerrin excuses herself to get her bag. She tells Demir she wants to leave.
Kaya watches Zerrin and Demir leave. He’s frowning. Ipek asks, what’s wrong now? Your face changed again. Are you getting cold feet? He says no and takes a sip of water. Ipek seems amused.
Zerrin and Demir arrive home. You may have forgotten, he says, but you are pregnant. Why do you do this to yourself? I told you we should have left. Why stay if you were going to feel bad? Zerrin responds, what you built, has collapsed. Kaya is marrying someone else and he loves her. Maybe he always did. Your game is over. Let me leave.
You married me, too, Demir notes, and I know you don’t love me. But sometimes people get married even when they don’t feel true love. Do you truly love him? Zerrin says yes. He asks, how much? I’d die without him, she replies, Kaya is my life. I can’t. Yes, you can, Demir answers. Zerrin says it’s impossible. Demir tells her to think of her baby. You’ll be fine.
Cihan and Erol come to the konak and find Kaya sitting on the steps. Cihan sits with his bro. He says, Erol, let’s say you have a female friend, a friend you’ve met once and yet you decide to marry her. Do you think that’s right? Erol clicks no. Cihan explains, that’s what my brother is doing. I spoke to him, but he doesn’t listen. He tells Kaya to stop being stubborn. I don’t have the strength to hold you or get back on my own feet. Forget this.
Kaya says, brother you don’t understand. I have no choice. I’m going to lose everything. What else can I do but get married? Zerrin left and married somebody else and got pregnant with him. Cihan recounts, the girl married somebody else and the baby isn’t yours. Get over it!
Cihan gets a call from Sahin. He wants an update on Hamada. Cihan says they traced him to Afrin (a Kurdish city in Syria.) We’re going there tomorrow. Sahin is ready to go.
#72 part 2
Nare looks at the hospital bed in her house. She gets ready to leave. Sahin appears at the door. What are you doing here? I came to drive you, he replies, we need to talk. There’s nothing to talk about, she says. He begs. She tells him the men are waiting for her, Sada is keeping tabs. Sahin suggests they go out the back so no one will see. He holds out his hand then grabs hers. They escape.
Nare and Sahin talk at “Rock number 381” [lol, Maggie’s designation.] I don’t know where to begin, Sahin says, Ozkan was just buried, it might not be the best time. But you know what I’ve been holding in, and I don’t have the strength anymore. She sighs and looks away.
Don’t look away, Sahin asks, look at me. I can’t live if you don’t look at me. I know I made you a promise. I wanted you to feel better, and I planned on staying away. Getting close to you became my curse. I can’t help it, it doesn’t work. I’m ready to accept my misfortune. I was sad about Ozkan, but even in the worst of times, you and I love each other. I beg you. He takes her hands in his. That’s all I ask. Stay with me.
Nare draws a breath. Forget about everything, Sahin. The pain, the mourning, and everyone else. Think of your father. How can I be by your side if he murdered my brother? Sahin says, your brother and I are going to Syria tomorrow. We’ll find Hamada and make him talk. If my father is not Boran’s killer, I will seek you out. I’m going to ask you to be my wife.
Albora family meeting. Sada is satisfied. She told Kaya that girl was perfect for him. It will work out as planned. Cihan warns his bro that there will be no going back from this. Kaya says he’s ready to ask for Ipek’s hand. Nare calls out to her bro. [she never comes out and says it, but I think it’s implied that she wants him to think of her situation. Neyse…]
Sada continues, the girl is kind, polite, and elegant. It’s clear from her family lineage. Let’s make arrangements and give our points of view. The best thing is to ask for her hand tomorrow. Cihan says they can’t. They are going to Syria tomorrow.
Really, Alya asks, you’re going tomorrow? Cihan gives a slight nod. Sada asks, did the bastard leave any clues? We found him, Cihan says. Kaya adds that Sahin is coming with them. That gets Nare’s attention and Sada’s ire. What for? So we can discover if his father is Boran’s killer? We are going to make him talk, Cihan answers, we will find out.
Sada makes her position clear. Even if this man was only taking orders when he took Boran’s life, I want you to kill him. Alya speaks up, Cihan will hand him over to the authorities. Cihan just looks at her. Sada answers, whoever took my son’s life must die. Alya is adamant—he’ll serve his sentence. Sada turns to Cihan, whoever did it and whoever gave the order can’t live. Cihan says he will decide that.
Ummu says dinner is ready and she goes to get Deniz. Seymus enters the room and tells Sada that the artisan brough the crib. Where will we leave it? She says to put it in the room she’s preparing for the baby. Cihan asks, what crib? Alya doesn’t want a fight to start. Seymus explains that Sada ordered it.
Cihan gets up from his chair. Tell the artisan to get the crib out of here. Hurry. Seymus leaves. Cihan confronts Sada. A crib? What are you doing? He grabs her. Come and answer me. What do you expect, she replies, that boy is your son, and when he’s born he’ll live and grow up here. Cihan answers, what did we talk about? She says, that boy will grow up in the konak. He will be close to us and be a part of the family.
#72 part 3
Uh oh, Deniz comes into the room and hears this. He asks, you’re having a baby? Sada answers, yes, Cihan, that’s right. Alya puts her finger to her lips and hurries over to Deniz. Sada continues, he is having a baby and that baby will be your brother.
Deniz is upset. I don’t want a brother! I already told you! You’re having a baby, mom? Sada says, don’t worry, your mother isn’t pregnant. Your brother is coming from another woman. Alya wants Deniz to go back to his room. Cihan looks horrified. Deniz asks, what is grandma saying? I don’t want a brother. Dad you promised! I don’t want you to have another son. We get the flashback to Cihan promising. Alya and Pakize take Deniz away.
Nare questions Sada, why did you say this? Sada replies, what’s the big deal. It’s true. Kaya scolds, he’s just a little kid. Must we hide it, Sada asks. Cihan steps in—what are you doing? He gets in Sada’s face. He’s furious. Kaya holds him back. Sada tells Cihan, that woman blinded you. I’m protecting the name and future of the boy who is on the way.
Cihan asks again—what the hell were you thinking? Sada shrugs it off, ah, he’ll cry a little after hearing this, but I know it’s for the best. Cihan must get used to it. Cihan yells—that’s enough! Mom, quiet! He raises his hand. Kaya stops him. Nare is stunned. Sada does not flinch.
Cihan is out of his mind in anger. He hits himself in the head. He continues to shout at Sada. Shut up! He tries to push Kaya away. Why must you always do this?! He’s your grandson! What’s wrong with you? Are you crazy? [she’s evil.] You stabbed him in the back, and you hurt me, too! Alya returns to the room and the 3 are trying to restrain Cihan.
Cihan doesn’t let up. You’re tearing this family apart! Kaya and Alya manage to move Cihan towards the door. Sada calls out—all I’m doing is telling the truth. Kaya begs Cihan to ignore Sada. Cihan tells his mother, I hope I die so that you feel that pain. Sada repeats, I was just being honest. Someone in this family has to be and I’m the only one. Cihan heads for the door and repeats, I hope I die soon. It’s my fault for putting up with you. [I hope this isn’t foreshadowing.]
Alya follows Cihan into his room and tries to calm him down. Cihan wants to see Deniz. Alya doesn’t think that’s a good idea right now. Cihan says he’s fine and he wants to see Deniz. Alya says Deniz is with Pakize and Ummu. I don’t want him to see you like this. Cihan insists to speak to the boy. Alya wants to talk to Deniz first. What will you say to him, Cihan asks. I’ll think of something, she replies.
Kaya and Nare enter the room. Lol, Kaya has an ice pack for Cihan. Cihan tosses it aside. Alya says she’s going to see Deniz and Cihan insists on going with her. She’s firm. He can’t go. She tells Kaya to watch his bro.
Pakize and Ummu are trying to distract Deniz with a puzzle. He doesn’t want to do it. My dad lied to me, and I don’t want a brother. Alya enters and the ladies leave. Mom, dad lied to me, he says, I don’t want a brother. Alya responds, first, I want you to know that I love you very much. And so does your father. [in the Turkish she says “Cihan loves you, too.”] Deniz replies, if he loved me, he wouldn’t bring me a brother. He doesn’t want to look at Alya.
Cihan appears in the doorway. He greets Deniz. The boy shouts—get out! You lied to me. I don’t want to see you! Alya tries to get Cihan to leave. No dice. Deniz decides he wants to leave and go back to Canada. He gets his backpack and says, pack my bag, mom, so I can go. Alya asks Deniz to listen for a moment. She holds her hand up to Cihan to back off. Let’s sit and talk like we always do, she says to Deniz. She shoos Cihan out with her hand. He leaves.
#72 part 4
Kaya and Nare are waiting out on the terrace. Cihan apologizes to them and walks to the railing. He takes deep breaths to calm down.
Deniz says, let’s pack our bags and leave. This late at night? Alya replies, let’s at least wait until tomorrow, okay? He agrees. She has an idea. Let’s get some rest and talk calmly in the morning. He agrees again. He adds, I don’t really want to leave the konak. But I got sad because I’m going to have a brother. She kisses his head. Mom loves you. Don’t be sad. It will be fine. He asks his mom to sleep with him. He tells her he loves her a lot. She tells him he’s the most important thing in her life.
Alya goes to see Cihan. She’s not pleased. He asks, what did you do? I managed to calm him for now, she replies, he’s sleeping. Cihan admits he should have gone to see Deniz. It was my fault, I couldn’t contain myself. Please forgive me. He shouldn’t have found out like that. Alya, I know very well how to fight. I’ve fought all my enemies. I know what to do, when to do it, when to stop, and when to be quiet. But when it has to do with a child’s suffering, I feel like my hands are tied.
I know your mother did that to hurt you, Alya says, but it destroyed me, too. It hurt me more than anything because it’s my son, understand? I can’t deny it. Cihan answers, if you support me, I’ll stand firm against my mother and Mine. I promise. Just don’t go along with my mother’s plan. Don’t allow it. Don’t let her achieve her goal by using my son. Alya, please let me talk to Cihan (Deniz). I owe him an explanation because this is my fault. He should hear it from me. It was my mistake and I must face it.
Alya says, okay but what will you tell him if he asks if the baby will live with us? Cihan replies, that he will live with his mother and only he will live in the konak. Do you think that will fix anything, she asks. We don’t know what the future holds. You can’t be apart from your baby. You’re the father. And the baby can’t be apart from his mother either. I wouldn’t let that happen anyway. Tell me something, when Mine arrives here, what will we do? Alya sighs.
Cihan says, I’m going to Syria tomorrow and I don’t want to feel bad about this. I don’t want to live with the fear of having lost you after I return to the konak. Let me talk to him. She nods.
Zerrin calls Kaya at 1 am? He answers, Zerrin… did something happen? You’re going to Syria, aren’t you? My brother told me. Yes, we’re going, he replies. She says, everyone is going to realize that my father is not Boran’s killer and that makes me very happy. Don’t rejoice yet, he tells her. Did you call in the middle of the night just to tell me this? No, she says, I want to talk, but in person. He asks, about what? My marriage? Watch what you say, she warns. I’m visiting my mother tomorrow morning. We can meet somewhere. He agrees.
Kaya and Zerrin meet on a random street. He snarks, did you get permission from your husband? Not funny, Zerrin replies. You didn’t waste much time. How did you find her? Or were you with her before? He warns her, don’t do this. I told you from the beginning this would happen. She says, it didn’t look like revenge yesterday. He reminds her she was the one who left him and got married. She snaps back—I had no choice.
#72 part 5
What about the baby, Kaya asks. You told me it wasn’t mine. I know, she replies. And you have the nerve to scold me, he asks You left and let Demir get you pregnant. What about you, she asks, you found comfort in my classmate. Are you doing this out of spite? He swears he’s not. She accuses him of marrying just to make her jealous. Kaya reminds her again that she left him and married someone else. You’re going to scold me now? It’s too late. [I’m with Kaya on this.]
Zerrin asks, will you really marry a woman you don’t love? Is that what you think, he says. We can all fall in love again. He starts walking away. She calls out—you said you’d never love anyone but me. He answers, and you told me there was nobody else, remember? It wasn’t true. Things changed. Thanks to you, I had to learn to forget. And… I should learn… to love again. He leaves. She cries.
Cihan comes to see Deniz in his room. Deniz is working on a puzzle. Deniz doesn’t acknowledge Cihan. Ayla is in the doorway. Cihan says, I came to make up. I made a promise and I broke it. [I don’t understand how one can make such a promise to a child in the first place.] You’re right to be upset. But you need to know I never lied to you. I was always honest with you. When I told you you’d never have a sibling, I didn’t think we’d go through something like this. You’re right, it looks like I lied to you and I’m sorry about that. I broke your heart.
Deniz turns to Cihan, I don’t want a brother. You’re right, Cihan replies, I love you very much. I love you so much, that words cannot describe it. My love for you is infinite, never ending. No child will ever take your place. There’s nobody like you. Forgive me.
On one condition, Deniz says, I have to be the only kid in the konak. Nobody else can live here with me. Of course, Cihan agrees, this konak is yours. I promise that you’ll be the only kid. [ugh, stop with the promises.] And if someone comes, it will be as a guest and then they will leave. When they come, you say, “hoşgeldin” and then you say “güle güle” when they leave. Does that sound good? Deniz asks for another promise. Cihan swears on the Quran. [I fear this is a bad move.]
Cihan asks for a hug. Deniz won’t give a hug but he says Cihan can stay and watch him do his puzzle. Cihan asks if he can give Deniz a tickle. Nope. But Deniz smiles at Cihan. Cihan gives Deniz a little tickle on the neck. The boy squirms and laughs—noooo.
Zerrin and Fidan say goodbye to Sahin before he leaves for Syria. Zerrin says, take care. Hopefully, everything works out. Fidan asks him if this is necessary. Let Cihan and his people find that man. When will we be rid of these problems? Sahin replies, in order to restore my father’s honor, I have to hear that man say my father is innocent.
Sahin entrusts them to Allah. Fidan says, “Bismillah Al Rahman Al Rahim", In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Zerrin adds, “La Ilaha Illallah” There is no God but Allah. [this is the first part of the Shahada.] “la shay' yakhfaa ealaa Allahi” Nothing is hidden from Allah [I had to look this up.]
They are saying goodbye at the Albora konak, too. The ladies are worried. They wish them well on their mission. Be careful. May Allah protect you. Cihan refuses a hug from Sadakat. He warns heryou’re your tongue hurts that boy’s heart again when I’m away, I’ll see that you pay when I get back. I’m not fooling. You won’t mess with Alya either. If you try anything, I’ll bring everything to account that I haven’t discussed with you yet. You’ve been warned.
#72 part 6
Cihan goes to hug Alya. It looks like that stung Sada. Cihan jokes with Alya, if you try to set fire to the door again, I’ll send the fire department. She tells him to take care. Come back clean, with answers.
They cut Ummu and Pakize saying goodbye to Muzzafer and Kadir. I don’t have time for detail here maybe in a separate post. But everyone is making such a big deal of this mission, that I worry something bad is going to happen to someone. After all this is a dizi.
They cut Sahin on the road to meet up with Cihan’s group. He thinks back to a conversation with Nare. She asks, what if your father is Boran’s killer? He thinks back to asking his father if he did it. He thinks about making Nare his wife if Ecmel is innocent.
Sahin meets up with Cihan’s group on the road.
Sada wants to talk to Alya. Look at my son, she hisses, my own son ignored me and hugged you instead. He left without saying goodbye. Without looking at my face. You’re turning my son against me. You’re trying to push him away, but you will fail. [Ayla’s doing nothing. This is all Sada’s doing.]
Alya takes a deep breath before speaking. Look, I know what it means for a mother to be separated from her son. I experienced it firsthand. You’ve been trying to separate me from my son since I arrived here. I’ve felt this pain in my bones countless times and I don’t want anyone else to feel it. Nobody should feel it. But I’m not the one pushing your son away from you. You are doing that yourself. [yes.]
Sada replies, my beloved son never turned his back on me before you arrived at this konak. Everything changed with your arrival. You’re trying to get my son to forget his mother. You won’t rest until we’ve grown apart.
Alya counters, do you know that by bothering me like this you’re only hurting him? You try to hurt me, but I’m not falling apart. But Cihan is, little by little. I saw how hard it was for him not to disrespect you up to now. I witnessed it. That man was hurt yesterday, Sadakat Hanım. Motherhood should be respected. That’s why Cihan makes such an effort. You’re lucky to have a son like that in spite of yourself and you know it. I wish you could be an exemplary mother too.
Who do you think you are, to say I’m not an exemplary mother? Sada raises her hand to deliver the Ottoman slap. Alya grabs her arm. Sakın! (don’t you dare!) That’s enough. The more you raise your hand to me, the sharper my tongue gets. I will not give up. I’m going to see my son. Alya goes up the stairs. You’ll see, Sada hisses, I’ll show you and you’ll learn your place. Nobody will save you from me.
Cihan and crew arrive at their destination. A man points out the hiding place. Everyone takes out their guns. Shots are fired from above. Cihan yells—take cover! It’s an ambush! We see some guy inside a house looking out the window. He’s got a gun. [Is this Hamada?] He exits the house and starts shooting.
The man with the info shouts—Hamada’s getting away! Our guys try to cover all the escape routes. Cihan advances and shoots someone. He climbs a ladder. We see Hamada head down. Cihan is following. Hamada exits and runs across Kadir and Muzzafer. Hamada shoots Muzzafer in the arm.
Cihan continues to chase Hamada. Sahin and Kaya join the chase. Hamada stops at a steep drop and Cihan grabs Hamada. They fall together. Cihan lands on top of Hamada. It doesn’t look good for Hamada. He’s bleeding from his head, his ear and his mouth. Looks like Cihan cracked a rib.
Cihan, Sahin and Kaya stand over Hamada. Cihan points his gun at Hamada, tell me who gave you the order to kill Boran Albora? Hamada groans, save me. Cihan asks again, who ordered you to kill Boran? Hamada gasps. He grabs Cihan’s arm. Cihan asks yet again, who gave the order to kill Boran? With his dying breath Hamada squeaks out—Na.. Nadim.
And we are out.
Great stuff, Dondi!!! Thank you so much!
Oh, this is delicious. Sadakat has no idea all this is all her fault. The writers surprised me again!
Why would Mine want to move into the konak? She has a peaceful condo all to herself, decorated the way she likes. Why move into a conflict-ridden home where somebody else is in charge?
Now Kaya is stepping right into a new life-threatening situation. Ipek’s father would kill him if he decides not to marry her. Does Sadakat know that?
Boy if I lived in that sorry neighborhood in Afran I would be scared to death if a bunch of big shiny cars suddenly showed up there. And sure enough, everybody in them had guns. We were treated to a classic TN death where the person is completely lucid and says Pivotal Last Words. I thought he might die just before croaking out a name, but no! Now we know it’s Demir.
I looked up Afran to see some photos. It’s a sizable town. The Turks took it from the Kurds not many years ago, which resulted in bombed-out buildings, lots of people refugeeing out, and of course atrocities. Sigh.

Another stellar recap, dondi. Your recaps are a high point of my Saturdays.
Sadakat made sure Alya was listening in the hallway when she spoke about the baby's room.
It was nice of Ipek to warn Kaya of the consequences of backing out of a courtship. I somehow have a sense she knows what's going on and is playing along.
Zerrin made a good point about Demir letting her go if Kaya has moved on since he supposedly married her for revenge on Cihan and Kaya. But I'm pretty sure he cares for her. They've also kind of softened him up a bit. Fewer evil sneers.
Well, the gunfire in this one more than made up for the lack in my Wednesday recap. Dizis share a trait with telenovelas in that SO many shots are fired, mostly with no one getting seriously wounded. But I think last night the Alboras might have finished off a couple of Hamada's cronies.
Well, if Hamada told the truth, a way is cleared for Sahin and Nare. Please, writers, let these two be together. I'm now doubtful about Zerrin and Kaya.
I also hope this isn't foreshadowing. And how could a mother hear her child be so bitter toward her that he'd almost wish for death, just so she'd suffer? And, right after he leaves, she takes absolutely no responsibility for those bitter parting words and blames everything on Alya. Sadakat has zero self-reflection. She's always right and it's my way or the highway,
I know they need all this dramatic tension, but why in the world doesn't Cihan move Alya and Deniz out? He certainly could afford a place.
OTOH the konak is a perfect place for Deniz, except for a toxic grandmother. His mother can do the job she loves without a care in the world since Ummu and Pakize adore Deniz. The boy also loves Kadir and Muzaffer.
I worry a lot about Ecmel getting free. He said something to his family about a conditional release happening very soon. Could we hope for an ankle monitor?
I think next week is the final stretch of this spinoff Telenovela. Since "LOBO" is expected to be replacing "LEJOS" in the 9:00 PM CST timeslot, I'm not sure which Telenovela will be replacing "CASILLAS" in the 8:00 PM CST timeslot on February 17th.
Thanks Maggie and novelera.
Maggie, I would be surprised if Sadakat ever realizes her faults. I do not want her redeemed. Same for Ecmel. Since they couldn’t be happily together in life, let them go to their deaths together, and continue to torture each other in hell for eternity. Their families can finally live in peace.
Kaya isn’t in danger yet since no commitment has been made. I’m sure Sada and everyone else knows what would happen if Kaya doesn’t honor a commitment. It’s part of the reason Cihan and Nare are trying to talk him out of this.
Yep, a TN/dizi trope, a deathbed revelation. I still believe that Ecmel was behind Boran’s death. Nadim is being set up. I’m sure Demir doesn’t mind. He’s collaborated with Ecmel and will succeed his father.
novelera, I got a good first impression of Ipek. We’ll see where they go with her. Zerrin’s jealousy bothered me this episode. I guess she expected Kaya to remain single and longing for her all his life.
According to the storyline, Alya and Deniz must stay in the konak for protection. IIRC, at one point, Cihan threatened to kick Sada out if she didn’t behave. I’d love to see that happen.
I wonder if Deniz will ever go to school and get a real education. At least bring a tutor in. Coloring books and puzzles won’t cut it much longer. The kid has no friends his age. Alya said he went to school and had friends in Canada. His tantrums over having a sibling are concerning and Cihan keeps promising there won’t be another child in the konak.
Not sure if it matters if Ecmel is free or not. He’s been pulling strings and causing havoc from inside prison. It stinks for Fidan, Sahin, and Zerrin if he’s around all the time, though.
I agree that Deniz needs schooling or some way to be around other kids. Were Sadakat's kids raised this way? Might explain some things. Even a school with local kids would help a little, but logistics for safety might be crazy. Or futbol little league. PE with track and field? If Deniz had friends in Canada, it’s too bad he wouldn’t want a sibling. It looks like Boran and Cihan were close.
I want Ecmel and Sadakat to go over a very high cliff together. She’s awful. I’m amazed her kids haven’t packed her off somewhere. She snarls when she speaks.
I find the possible guilt of Nadim questionable. Something fishy is going on. Ecmel always looks guilty to me.
Thank you Dondi, Novelera and Maggie for summaries and comments. The background on the town of Afran was sad but very interesting.
