I recapped a different show this morning so I'm not in the mood to give this episode the full blow by blow. Here's the short version from what I can recall. The order may be mixed up.

Zac and Aitana. He's really upset she doesn't love him like he loves her. He tells his dad this and gets some sympathy from Juventino.

Juventino is bored so he's helping Clem in the kitchen. Eloisa learns this and tells Clem to make sure he doesn't drive per doctors orders. She also tells Clem to not discuss the fact that her family was mentioned in her late husband's will to avoid resentment amongst the other workers. Clem agrees but has a suspicious look on her face as she walks away.

Luciano dies try to pump Larisa for information but doesn't get anywhere. He decides to have a family meeting with his brothers and tells them what Iñigo did. Bruno can see Iñigo acting that way. Mateo isn't so sure but would like positive proof. Inigo of course denies all.

Inigo is trying to get the girls and his mother is on board, but they have to do it the right way. Inigo continues to poison the girls against their mother and gives them new tablets so he can communicate with them and they can spy on mom and keep him informed of what she is doing. He does bring them home at least, but they are not happy about it.

Ceci and Gael are no longer a couple. He can't be in the free spirited relationship she wants. She tells Nuria about it. Nuria asks how she feels. Ceci is sad but still not ready to commit. Nuria reminds her she told Ceci the Castillos were an old fashioned family with the values to match. She isn't totally sympathetic. She tells her now you know how it feels to be the one jilted. Gael tells Belinda about the breakup.

Rolando has gone to the head of security in his dad's department to find out more about El Negro. The guy has no idea who he is talking about, his dad never ordered an investigation into the guy so now Rolando has questions.

Aitana gets suspicious when Belinda rushes to the bathroom during dinner and follows her. She hears her vomiti7in the bathroom, but when Belinda comes out she denies it and says she is fine. So hopefully now Aitana will keep an eye on her.

Luciano tells Aitana how his meeting with his brothers went. She reminds him he needs proof. He agrees, currently it's just his word against Iñigo's. Aitana wanted to go for some fresh air to clear her head. Luciano asks if he could tag along. They don't actually show the walk (I thought maybe she would discuss her concerns about Belinda with him).

Next scene is at Larisa with Belinda, Luciano and Bruno. Father and daughter leave to pick up the dinner and Bruno and Larisa talk. 8 didn't get all this conversation straight, but Larisa fans the flames of Bruno's resentment against Aitana. She tells him Zac and Aitana became a couple days after he went to rehab. (I was not a fan of the way Aitana flirted with Bruno early in the series).

#40 part 2

Never sure how much space I have to write my comment. Not much more to mention.

Mateo and Ximena are in her bedroom. He is kinda choking her as they make out but he stops. He tells her he has to go. She says she's not ready to go all the way, but snuggling together would be nice. He says he wouldn't be able to control himself in that situation and gives he a quick kiss as he leaves she says the amount, and he repeats the same back to her.

Iñigo is outside berating Vincente for betraying him, via phone. Where's Aitana when she's needed? Not there this time, but Mateo comes out of Ximena's room and Iñigo threatens Mateo with the letting that cat out of the bag. Mama would not be happy.

One other thing regarding Luciano telling his brothers. He wants the lawyer called to prove Iñigo knew more than he said. Mateo and Bruno are in favor of having a meeting with the lawyer.
 

The amount was supposed to be "te amo" but autocorrect had other ideas.....

What an Iñigo-centric episode! All he did was rave from one scene to the next.

Anyway, here is hoping that Iñigo doesn’t get to the lawyer with threats or money or even kill him before “the meeting.” Luciano should have considered those possibilities before telling Iñigo and his other bros what he found out via the lawyer and had the lawyer present when he told them all he knew how Iñigo manipulated the situation. Not smart.

At the confab, I think they were talking about bringing in the reporter Vicente to put to rest doubts about what Iñigo knew. Mateo mentioned consulting a lawyer about whether the reporter committed a crime by sitting on the information and protecting a fraudster.

Eloisa suggested to Iñigo that he fabricate evidence to show Nuria is a bad mom. Eloisa really doesn’t want her nietas living with Nuria.

Eloisa told Clem that Ricardo had a good heart—and that’s sufficient reason for special treatment.

Sharp-eyed Aitana noticed Mateo caressing Ximena’s arm when she served him at the dinner table. Aitana later (after they rehashed she doesn’t love him anymore) told Zac there was something between Ximena and Mateo, we have to act to expose Mateo NOW!

Zac and his weepy cow eyes about losing Aitana a bit much. It was over 18 years ago.

Thanks Kat, I enjoyed your recap. I was upset when Zac told his dad there might be something to bind Aitana and him together forever. His dad questioned him but he wouldn’t say more. But he needs to keep things to himself, I worry his dad will question him more on this.

If Belinda drops Rolando for Gael will Rolando’s dad find out and give El Negro the go-ahead on Belinda? Hopefully if she does drop Rolando he’ll still want her protected. He’s a nice guy.

Not sure why Luciano couldn’t keep his mouth shut and get proof first. I’m also not sure what Aitana wants Larissa to do. I know she said she wouldn’t send the video if she did this, and I assume it’s getting proof about what Inigo did. But I’m not sure what proof Larissa could get without incriminating herself. I’m not sure if she knew about what Inigo was going to do but I’m pretty sure she and Inigo discussed the fact that her father was broke.

Mateo and Inigo are both really rotten. Ximena looked like she was struggling when Mateo was choking her. If that’s the way he makes love he may be a serial killer. And Inigo is stooping so low, badmouthing Nuria to their daughters and expecting them to spy on their mother. I can’t wait to see them get what’s coming to them.

"Larisa fans the flames of Bruno's resentment against Aitana" was exactly right. Cruel mind games to an already tortured soul.

"Iñigo-centric episode!" was perfect Jarifa! Iñigo was almost (but not quite) as alarming as Mateo when he was raging like a madman one minute then turning to his girls calling "ninas" with an almost "normal" expression on his face.

Clara, thanks for "Sharp-eyed Aitana noticed Mateo caressing Ximena’s arm when she served him at the dinner table" which I didn't catch.

Belinda (whom I'm liking more every day) immediately knew something with Gael was off. Soul mates in the making.

I hope Zac and Aitana move to reveal Mateo for the monster he is. Iñigo could care less and will only use what he saw to threaten Mateo.

I'm glad that young Rolando is being proactive about getting information about investigating the bad guy stalking Belinda. Now he knows that his dad is lying to him .

I watched it last night with a 3 year old in my lap so I didn't pay a lot of attention. If anyone else wants to give a synopsis, have at it. I'm still entertaining the 3 year old today after her sleepover!

Just a few brief notes of the little I cann remember.

Juanjo arrived at Nuria's with a sweet but rather sad bunch of red roses. They as well as his spirits drooped further as Nuria, awash in a sea of tears broke up with him. He left, heartbroken as she explained she was doing it for her hijas.

He then paid Iñigo a visit, interrupting him from polishing his gun. He was furious and Iñigo did seem a bit surprised that they broke up. Gael listened from behind closed doors.

Rolando hired a locksmith to open Larisa's locked draw, but I don't think Belinda was able to look at anything on the laptop as she didn't have the password.

There was a scene where Larisa seemed to literally beg to get back into mama's good graces which seemed to be fruitless. Eloisa and Mateo exchanged disgusted looks.

My mind is blanking, that's about all I can remember.

Some highlights:
— Larisa asked her dad how she can get proof against Iñigo. Ask Alfredo Almasa, accountant.
— Gael discovers Aitana is Adriana. He’ll keep quiet.
— Nuria broke up with JJ as Diana noted. JJ will wait for her. When JJ went to Iñigo, Iñigo fired a blank at his head. “What a face you made!”
— Larisa confronting Eloisa in the hospital to make nice. Her trial is in a couple of days, and if she’s acquitted, she wants back into the family. Eloisa will think about it.
— Rolando will find a technician to get into Larisa’s laptop.
— Rolando learned El Negro’s criminal history was erased.
— Aitana tricked Mateo into letting her get a glimpse of photo files on his cell. There is one marked “Ximena.” Aitana has cooked up a new plan with Zac to warn Ximena, but we don’t hear it.
— Luciano went to the family lawyer. Lawyer needs time to figure out when Amador went into bankruptcy. As for the will, Ricardo’s wishes about the Castillos were not in the will itself—there are two side letters, one to Eloisa which she has, and another to Clem which the lawyer is holding (until Eloisa’s death?)
— Bruno told El Negro he wants one of the “amiguitas.” No problem, first time’s on me, look at them (on tablet) and choose one. Be discreet.

Thanks Diana and Clara. One other thing to add, Mateo and Ximena are making out in her room again (with Mateo becoming rather rough) when Micaela knocks looking for Ximena. She's still on the clock and isn't answering her phone. Mateo hides in the bathroom when Ximena answers the door, so once again she is "saved".

There is one marked “Ximena.” I thought that Aitana was trying to flatter Mateo with how much he resembled his mother (I hope I have that right - that little sick, smarmy smirk of his when he showed her the (older) picture of them together made my stomach roil).

Kat, I was disappointed Micaela didn't catch Mateo in Ximena's room. She's very perceptive and I think she already has an inkling of what is going on.

Thanks Kat, there’s a bunch of unlikable characters in this. Gael seemed out of character when he was so insistent that they tell him why Aitana is using a different name. Then he listened at the door after showing Juan Jo into Inigo’s office. Inigo got the gun out after Gael told him Juanjo wanted to see him. I guess he thought the gun would scare Juanjo. I think Inigo told him he wouldn’t take Nurea back because she had a sexual partner that wasn’t him. I don’t know why people don’t just keep their business to themselves. Even Eloise said she was no longer welcome in their house. She had to tell Inigo knowing he has a temper and is mean.

Bruno needs to quit playing detective, he’s going to get in trouble big time. And I’m not sure why he’d believe anything Larissa told him. He knows her dad cheated them and she worked with her dad. I’m surprised Luciano trusts her.

Mateo always looks like he’s hurting Ximena when he’s kissing her. She must know that’s not normal.

I didn’t realize Larisa’s trial is coming up. I hope she’s found guilty but I doubt she will be.

I think that the role of Iñigo is the most distinctive role I gave ever seen Ferdinando Valencia in. His performance is memorable so far given the script with the multitude of bizarre things that come out of his mouth and as he is "co-ringmaster" with Aitana at the present time.

Nuria never should have told her daughters that they were the most important things in the world to her. Could she not anticipate their request? That was a "duh" move.

How long until Micaela catches Ximena with/communicating with Mateo who she has warned her off of in no uncertain terms already? I thought she was gong to catch Mateo when she had to coax Micaela out of her room insisting that she come like "really right now." It would not surprise me if Micaela ends up dead.

El Negro giving Bruno the catalog of girls was sickening.

Thanks to everyone for putting the pieces,of this episode puzzle together . I recorded this episode,and just watched . I don't know what they are saying , but I did notice that in the scene of Mateo in Cinema's room, Mateo was giving just a very aggressive kiss , when Michaela knocked and Mateo slipped unto the bathroom . Micaela seemed angry at Ximena and adamant about getting her to !save the room. As they left, Michaela was the last to leave , and she looked at the bathroom door. It seemed evident that she knew that Mateo was in the bathroom . She knows his dark secrets and is trying to protect X. Susan

Regarding Mateo, his character is so dark, I fear for naive Ximena. I recall several episodes back when we got a peak into a room he has where there are pictures of women plastered all over the wall. Were these his victims? former lovers? women he stalked? His psychopathy is going to take over at some point.

I am really disappointed in Bruno. He seemed like such a well meaning nice guy. What happened to him? I can't wait for Inigo as well as Larissa to be exposed.

Lester, the only image I recognized in Mateo's "dark room" was Ximena but I wouldn't be surprised if others were his obsessions/fantasies; they might well be victims and/or women he stalked as you suggested.

#43 part 1

Belinda pines over photos of Gael as she pigs out on snacks which she then regurgitates in the bathroom...

Ceci and Nuria discuss love. Ceci just can't become what Gael wants. Nuria talks about her 10 years with Iñigo. Is she considering getting back with him?

Larisa is up to something. She tells Luciano that she feels strange, anemic or something and thinks she should have some tests run but she has no money. Is she pregnant? Whose baby if so. Or is she just trying to get the money from the jewelry that she gave to Luciano back by pretending to be sick?

Aitana's friend, Karime, comes from the city to Zac's house? She has brought the DNA test kit? ( Or the results, not sure which,) To Aitana and plans to stay a few days. Zac comes in and is presented to Karime (this is the first time I have heard her name to my knowledge).

Gael helps set the table in the kitchen as he and Clem discuss love...one day he'll find his true love.

Zac offers Karime a room at his house for her stay so she doesn't have to stay in a hotel. She accepts as long as he lets her pay for the lodging. (I'm sensing a possible love interest for Zac here).

Larisa gives the PI his pay and gets the report, which he assures her she will figure it was money well spent. Amador has left her a voicemail. I don't think he has a way of proving Iñigo knew ahead of time about his financial situation but I'm not sure.

Eloisa tells Aitana she can't stop thinking about Larisa. She's sure she is guilty though without proof she will likely not go to jail. Luciano is the one who will one who suffers because of her ( or something like that,)

Larisa texts Aitana to meet her in the garden. She actually did get something from dad that implicates Iñigo. They both want each other's copies but Larisa has an ace up her sleeve, she knows Aitana is actually Adriana and an imposter.

Luciano grooms his horse telling him he misses living at the ranch and misses "her" . She is forbidden to me, I'm engaged, she's with Zac and Bruno loves her. My life is very complicated.

Larisa and Aitana seem to come to an agreement. Aitana can get the audio to Eloisa anonymously. If Larisa were to use it Iñigo would go after her. If she doesn't give it to Aitana she will go public with the video. Larisa agrees not to disclose that Aitana is Adriana. Larisa asks why the deception, what do you gain from it. Aitana says justice. Larisa says Luciano is mine. Aitana says only because I allow it. If he saw the video you would lose him.

Micaela tells Ximena I know you had Mateo in your room. The only reason he's with you is to get into bed with you. Ximena doesn't want to hear it and storms out of whoever's bedroom they are changing the sheets..

#43 part 2

Iñigo is having a meeting with his brothers about the pending buyer's visit. He wants everything ship shape. Luciano can have a presentation ready for it. Iñigo says I've already done it and I don't even want you at the meeting. Iñigo is enjoying throwing his weight around.

Karime and Aitana discuss that now Larisa and Gael know her true identity, hopefully they stay quiet. Aitana gives her the DNA test kit back, she did the swab last night. She wants it registered in Adriana Rodriguez name.

More of the brothers discussing the meeting. Luciano tells him he doesn't have the experience. Iñigo says I'll get it done right. Bruno is still on Luciano's side

Nuria visits Larisa. She tells her about JJ but that's over now. Her girls won't accept a new guy in her Life.

Mateo calls Iñigo out on his attitude. I know about you and Larisa. I saw you together.

Larisa is trying to encourage Nuria to get back with Iñigo.

Aitana is making coffee in the kitchen. Luciano comes in talking on the phone. She signals do you want some coffee, he nods yes. She pours him one and turns to bring it to home as he hangs up and turns her way. If course he gets a chest full of hot coffee ehis necessitates him removing his shirt and her placing slices of tomato that are on the counter prepped for dinner. Kind of a silly scene.

Rolando goes to his dad about the deleted files on El negro. Dad agrees to look into it.

Aitana and Luciano nearly kiss , but Clem interrupts them. Aitana tells him the best thing to do is take as cold a shower as he can tolerate for the burns.

Belinda gossips with her friend Florencia at school. Florencia is shocked Belinda is still a virgin. Florencia lost hers to a neighbor, but she didn't seem excited about the experience. It will be better for you with Rolando since you are dating.

Aitana gets some burn salve for Luciano from her nurses satchel as she and Luciano relive their almost kiss in their minds with the theme song playing.

Ximena knocks on Mateo's office. She tells him that Micaela is suspicious. They need a different place to meet. Micaela suggests his house (does he have a separate house). I guess he has an apartment. He needs to get it ready, I think. Is he going to hide all the photos?

Rather than give the salve to Luciano, Aitana tells him don't button up, sit down. She puts it on him then gives him the tube telling him to use it every few hours for the burn

Ximena leaves Mateo's office but Zac sees her and hollers for her to wait. He asks what are you doing there. .she says I brought him some tea. Zac says you lie, you had no cup when you went in. Ximena says we love each other and it's none of your business what I do with my life.

Aitana is with Eloisa pumping her for info.about Clem, on the pretext that she wants to get her a gift for her birthday and Eloisa knows her much better having known her longer. Clem's mother was an employee at the ranch during the lifetime of her suegro. Eloisa says something about someone being bipolar, but not sure if it was Clem's mom she was talking about

Excellent, Kat. Thanks! In a rush but can add a couple things.

I didn’t follow the audio that Larisa presented as proof against Iñigo as to when he knew about Amador’s bankruptcy. Had to do with the accountant. Not sure whose voices on the audio? Important point is the audio is apparently “irrefutable” proof against Iñigo.

Ximena called Micaela a bitter old lady when Mic tried to warn her off Mateo. Mic was not pleased.
In talk about using his apartment, Mateo said fine (after he gets it in shape, good idea Kat) but Ximena had to be ready to “make love” (his words), because just kissing and snuggling would be too much of temptation.

Eloisa’s reference about bipolar was to show that Eloisa can keep a secret — after all, Eloisa had kept quiet about Aitana’s mom being bipolar (goes back awhile to when Aitana used this as cover when Miriam showed up at the hacienda yelling that Aitana had to leave asap.

Had same thought that Aitana’s friend Karime would develop into love interest for Zac. He needs a new interest!

No ice in the house? Would that not be preferable to “a cold shower” or some beef on Luciano's beefy chest? I had to laugh at that and also when Aitana just had to check on his burn!!!

Looks like we are at stalemates with Iñigo/Mateo and Aitana/Larissa.

Kat, thank you for your fantastic recap. I just watched the episode on demand and it was of immeasurable help. Clara, thank you for your additions.

Tomatoes on burns?? I looked it up and although they are considered a home remedy can do harm due to the acidity. I have to say though that tomatoes never looked so good. Aitana and Luciano have good chemistry, things proceeding at a slow burn (so to speak 😊).

No surprise that Micaela knew exactly what was going on in Ximena's room. I'm glad that Zac also now knows what she and Mateo are up to but there is nothing he can do. He burned that bridge long ago.

Nice to see Iñigo shocked by Mateo's assertion he knows about him and Larisa.

Belinda is definitely bitten by the love bug. I hope Aitana follows up on hearing Belinda purging.

Yes, Karime's smile when she spoke to Zac could not have been any more glowing.

My favorite scene was Luciano and his gentle grooming of that magnificent horse.

I am still trying to figure out Clem's past . If Clem's mother was at the hacienda when Eloisas father in law lived there, is he Clem's daughter making Ricardo Clem's brother.. That would make Zak and Gael and the bad brothers cousins .
Well, it surely looks like Luciano and Aitana will end up together . I think the speculation that Karime was brought in for Zak is probably right.
I wonder what anvils will be handed out . Blustering , BSC Indigo and creepy Mateo will surely get huge anvils. Susan

That's the way I'm thinking it happened, but Gael is actually adopted after his mother died and his father took off (I think). Gael's part was discussed a bit when Belinda discovered that she was adopted.
