Mujeres Asesinas 3, Thursday March 3: The case of the Conde nasty.

Tonight, we step back in time to 1966, where a tragic murder has occurred. The Count of Beltran Peña, Don Alfonso de Jesus Ruiz Machado y Ortigoza…known as Fonsi (and I was totally going to make that joke, but they did it for me) is dead. He is played by the one, the only, His Royal Hotness William Levy, The Count of Come-Hither, the Baron of Biceps, the Sultan of Sultry Smiles, the Duke of Debonair himself. His death has shocked high society around the world. We get some black and white footage including a stained sheet over a body. We get pictures of his poor widow, Anette (played by Belinda) daughter of Mexican designer Ana Van Diryk (who attacks the camera). The reporters don't believe it was an accident, as Mrs. Van Diryk claims.

Credits.

Belinda and Issabela Camil are Anette y Ana, nobles (nobles).

Det. Capellan says to someone over the phone that for her, it's an unsolved case. She goes out into the new computer area and meets up with Aranda and Gerardo. She tells Gerardo the "procurador" (lawyer…in the US, the Attorney General) wants to close the case, but she hasn't changed her mind. Gerardo says in the case of "Yvonne" that's how things went. "But why close the case?" Gerardo says the girl fell in the "pozo" (well) and the body was down there with no evidence of violence or evidence she had been pushed. Capellan says it's an unsolved case just as much as many other unsolved cases in the archives. She reminds him about the Van Diryk case. She puts up a photo of Ana Gallardo de Van Diryk in all her sixties glory. "She paid the price for a crime we all know she didn't commit. It all happened in a mansion on Pedregal in DF on the last night of '65 and the morning of the first day of '66."

And we're kickin' it '60's style! Ana works with a model and a tailor to put the finishing touches on one of her designs. Anette calls down, asking what time "they" are getting here. At 5, says Ana. Anette comes down a spiral staircase and smiles at her mom. Ana turns around and gasps at Anette's dress in appreciation.

In the present, Aranda comments that Anette didn't smile much and her husband looks older than her. "15 years" says Gerardo. "They called them 'Salt and Sugar.'" He left Spain early for Cuba to run the family business. "They say he left to avoid his father's mistreatment."

Back in '65, "Fonsi" is asked by a kid on a pool raft if that's all they're going to hunt, "patos" (ducks)? Fonsi says you've gotta start somewhere. A butler appears to refill his glass with more champagne and switch out the champagne bottle in his ice bucket. Fonsi tells the kid that if his mom agrees, he'll take him to hunt (something something) in May.

More mumbling from Ana and Anette. This shindig is a charity party to raise money for poor kids for gifts on Dia de los Reyes (3 kings day, when kids in Latin America get gifts instead of Christmas). Ana has trotted Anette out so that her guests can say they were in the room with a real live Countess.

Two rich bitches on the couch say that Ana's taste is becoming more refined, but what they've been really excited to see is that hottie the Count. Anette must be in heaven to be married to that hunka hunka burning love! Rich bitch #1 says "it's La Señora Condessa to you..and you need to take lots of pictures with her. Don't think I came here just to buy these ugly dresses!" Another rich bitch, this one named Janine, who is Anette's aunt, comes over to sit by them. Bitch #1 (who is Bitch #2's mother) asks Janine if the Count doesn't happen to have a friend with a title for her daughter. Anette buzzes by and clasps her aunt's arm briefly before moving on. Bitch #2 says again that it must be heaven being married to THAT!

Fonsi is still by the pool, drinking champagne and reading. Anette goes over to join him and hassle him about how much he's drinking. She smiles as she tells him everyone's watching him booze it up. Fonsi says he's hanging out with her brother, but he doesn't know exactly where the kid is. He's kind of a lonely kid, doesn't she think? Anette agrees that he needs his dad. He asks if Ana's thinking of getting married again. Anette gets upset and Fonsi says being in mourning doesn't exactly suit her mother and there's a lot of interested men. The little brother, Aldito, finally comes back from wherever and Anette takes him into the room where the party's going on. Fonsi laughs.

A woman in a mint green dress comes over to the mother-daughter duo and asks if mom's going to hand a check over now or if she's going to send it tomorrow. "Sorry to be so much trouble, but Ana's having me act as secretary tonight!" Mom says hold on, the daughter's going to buy more dresses. Poor girl. Alma starts to leave, but the Mom wants her to stay and gossip about how long the Count and Countess are going to be in town. She wants to invite them to dinner. Alma whispers that she can't promise anything because the Count is a little…strange.

Ana, Anette, and Janine notice the Count making eyes at the daughter (what the hell are these people's names and why can't I ever find out up front?). Ana gets the tailor to signal to the models to quit walking around.

As the models are getting undressed, the Count surprises them with his Levyness. He toasts the half-naked girls and sits down. "Girls. I came to congratulate you for all your hard work. The poor kids will be very grateful. My wife and my mother in law will be even more grateful. And I, well, I'm very pleased. But go on." He leaves the room and the girls all gather and giggle.

Mom and daughter are leaving and they question Alma again about saying the Count is "strange." They think it's just jealous gossip and Anette is living a dream. Alma says from what she understands, Anette is living a nightmare. Wow. That was pretty direct.

Capellan continues her narration. "It was THE New Year's Eve party at Ana Van Diryk's. She spread her wings like a peacock to receive the crème de la crème, proudly showing off her daughter and son-in-law the Count and Countess Beltran Peña." (pavo real = peacock, literally "royal turkey")

Ana goes over to Fonsi and asks him to help her make it a memorable party. She begs him to behave himself and tells him he's a star. He notices his hot young wife, in a gorgeous silver and seafoam gown that leaves a good part of her torso and one leg bare, coming down the stairs. He appreciatively says she's the star. The guests gawk as he takes Anette's arm and leads her to the middle of the floor so they can dance. "You never stop surprising me, my love. Did you know you take my breath away?" She thanks him for his pretty words that sound so false. "It's the truth. Every day you're more beautiful. You're a wonderful countess." She says she was trained to be. He asks why he says such nice things to her while she makes him feel like she's just meeting an obligation. The young girl from earlier goes over to Alma and says "Hey, I thought you said earlier that Anette is living a nightmare?" Alma tells her to shut up. Now it starts to get ugly. Anette asks if she's failed him in any way, which he admits she hasn't. She wants to stop dancing before she leaves him on the floor alone, but he tightens his grip and tells her not to dare. "Alfonso, please, people are watching." Alma tells the girl that if Anette is living a nightmare, it's worth the trouble. The dance ends and Fonsi applauds his wife. Ana walks off with her and other couples start dancing to the next tune. Fonsi flirts with some other girls at the party. He gathers a little crowd of them around him.

Ana asks Anette what that was about. "The guests may not have noticed, but I did." Anette says if the guests didn't notice then it's fine. "Isn't that the important thing? To stay away from talk and scandal?" Ana says Alfonso was upset and it showed. Anette asks what more she's supposed to do besides what she's doing. "We'll have to talk sometime." Ana says they are talking. "No, you're giving me instructions. I need my mom. I need to tell her how I feel." Janine comes over and congratulates them on the party then quietly says that people are looking at them and they can tell things are not ok. Ana gives Anette a kiss on the cheek, presumably to keep up appearances, then walks away.

Fonsi is watching two girls from the party make out. He smokes a cigar and they strip for him (blurred, of course).

Anette is looking at pictures of him in his hunting gear, of the two of them on their wedding day… Janine comes into whatever room she's in and asks if she's ok. "No. I'm not. It's been a long time since I've been well and the truth is that I don't know if I ever have been. But it's nothing." Janine says she'll always be there for her. "I love you. I really do." Anette tells her not to cry. Janine says she's got to get back out there because her mom's getting upset that the Count and Countess aren't at the party. Anette asks if Alfonso's not out there. Janine thought he was upstairs or off smoking a cigar.

Capellan tells the crew that the Count was partying like it was 1999…or rather, like he knew they were the last few hours of his life. She says they were the last few hours of Anette's life as an exquisite flower.

Anette walks in on the party and looks upset and disgusted, but not surprised. The girls gather their clothes, but walk out of the room mostly undressed. "In my house, Fonsi? In my bedroom?" "Let's see, Countess…who am I?" "You're an animal." "I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that." She screams at him that he's an animal. "Did you hear me that time?" "Tomorrow you're going to the estate." "Why there? Why don't you send me somewhere farther away?" He says he doesn't feel like it. Maybe on the estate she'll run into the ghost of his father who will fuck up her life (there was muting, so I assume the f-bomb was dropped in some capacity). "The same way I fuck up yours?" (again, guessing). He snaps his fingers and tells her to go away. When she doesn't listen he snarls at her to get out, then grabs her face and asks who she is. He mumbles a bunch of other stuff in a threatening tone that I can't quite make out, grabs her either around the waist or by the ass as hard as he can, then backs away. She tells him to enjoy his cigar. "Janine sure knows you well," Anette says, before leaving the room. "She's the one who told me." He tells her what she saw was just a diversion. "What happened with your aunt, that parasite, was craziness. Didn't she explain how things were? Let me explain it to you. Your aunt begged me. She seduced me. She practically took me to bed. Seducing me, because let me tell you something, your aunt is a wild animal. But, of course, she didn't tell you that." Anette says "No. She didn't tell me that. She just said she was sure you'd gone off to smoke a cigar. That was all." She leaves. He kicks a pillow off the ottoman.

Anette goes back to the party, trying to keep her tears from falling. Janine comes over and excitedly says "Guess who came?!" Anette tells her she knows about the affair. "I adore you. And I wish I didn't, because I'd like to kill you. I'd like to kill you both."

Capellan: "They were waiting for the clock to strike twelve. A year full of good things for all of them"

Everyone toasts the new year and balloons drop from the ceiling. Ana tells Anette she's proud of her and the year will be full of nothing but good things for her. Fonsi hugs Ana and wishes her a new year. "Don't let your daughter throw away such good fortune." He goes over to Anette and says she should at least try to look happy. When she tries to walk away, he grabs her back and takes the mic. He wishes everyone a happy new year. "My wife, the Countess, and I would like to give you a really big present. My love, why don't you sing our song?" The crowd starts to ask for the Countess to sing. She takes the mic and starts singing. "There's not a moment of the day that I can get you away from me. The world looks different when you're not with me. There's no beautiful melody that you're not part of. And I don't want to hear it, if you don't hear it. It's that you've become a part of my soul. Nothing consoles me anymore if you're not there too. Beyond your lips, the sun, and the stars, I'm with you in the distance, my love. I'm…" she breaks off, tearfully, but the audience applauds. As she's been singing, Fonsi has snuck out of the room, gone upstairs and forcefully shagged her aunt in the office. Janine is left huddled on the desk, crying.

"I know, mom. I know I haven't greeted a lot of people and now I'm going to go do my duty." Ana pulls her back. "I wanted to tell you you sang very well. Talk to me. What's happening." Anette says just two hours ago she said she wanted to talk to her mom and it was made pretty clear that she was to repress her feelings and not cry. "I'm just trying to help you, protect you, keep you from making mistakes, keep you from risking your position." Anette says she knows her mom has done it all for her own good, that she owes her everything, that her mom has given up her life for her. "I know I owe you more than I can ever repay. So that asshole Alfonso can pay you." Ana tells her to behave. "You're not thinking of separating?" Anette says she has thought about leaving him. Ana starts to give her the party line about not risking her position, etc, but it's clear Anette, as upset as she is, knows her mom will give her hell if she actually does try to leave him. The asshole in question comes dancing up spastically (have we ever seen William Levy do anything but a slow shuffle? Is he faking us out with the bad dancing?). Anette asks him if he realizes how he looks. He smacks the side of his head and says he looks like a Count, hello! "You know what? Little Miss Bitter Countess? I don't have to share your bitterness. You can leave if you want to." Anette says she's only bitter about one thing, Mr. Count. She avoids a kiss from him. He keeps bopping around as her mother looks like she's having a headache.

Anette runs into Janine, who asks if they can talk. "Of course. We've always been able to talk. I don't see why today should be any different." Janine says "Don't be cruel. I know you." "Well, apparently I don't know you." Janine keeps calling her "nena" (baby girl) and Anette asks her to stop. "I'm the Countess Beltran Peña, got it?" She walks away as Janine asks "Then what should I call you?" "Your highness, Countess, or worst case, Ma'am." Janine thinks she's playing around. "I'm not. I know about Alfonso's affairs with all kinds of women. From the beginning, I've had to shut my eyes, my ears, and my soul. But you, Janine? You?" Janine doesn't know what to say. She asks for forgiveness. Alfonso dances by with two girls propping him up and calls over "Hi, Tía!" Anette grins falsely at her aunt and says "My husband. See why I'm a Countess? And you're just a fruit." I don't entirely know what she meant by that, but she acts like she's handing her aunt a glass of grapes and then drops it at her feet and walks off.

Anette goes upstairs and seethes. She grabs a bottle of pills and pours out at least a handful.

Young Bitch from earlier finally introduces herself to Fonsi as Inna (took her long enough). She flirts with him, saying he's got something right there, touching his lips. He licks the side of her face. Ha! She's grossed out.

Gerardo says the autopsy was never made public, but it showed high blood alcohol levels. Also an excess of cocaine. And he'd probably smoked some pot that morning. And some type of opiate, possibly morphine. In those conditions, he'd be capable of anything. Well, doc, possibly not walking upright, I'd say.

Alfonso grabs some woman at the party and kisses her, then goes over to join the band. Hoo boy. He offers to show the pianist how it's done. He sits down and has himself a snort of coke while the guests look uncomfortable. Predictable, he bangs randomly on the piano. Ana drags Alma off while he keeps being an ass and demanding that the guests enjoy themselves.

There are a lot of pills on the carpet by the bed, but I'm guessing Anette took the rest.

Fonsi wakes up at the piano bench. He calls the guests empty headed and tells them to get out. Janine asks him to calm down. He grabs her like he's going to kiss her with the cigar in his mouth.

Anette is in bed when he stumbles in, telling her to get up because the party's still on and she's the entertainment. She tells him to go to shit. "Sure, I'll go wherever, after I've used you." She tells him to go party somewhere else. He backhands her, calling her stupid, and says some more nasty shit. She shoves him off her and off the bed, but then realizes she's made him too angry. He shoves her off the other side of the bed and leaves it at that for now.

Ana bids her guests goodbye. Fonsi says she and her filthy family belong to him and this is all her fault. She's standing on the far side of the bed with a lamp, minus lampshade, as a weapon. He says her mother offered her up as a prize jewel, so she'd better just learn to live with it. She cowers in the corner, still holding her lampshade.

Fonsi wakes up in a chair by the pool. The butler brings him a drink, but he pushes it away and breaks the glass. The butler runs off. Fonsi struggles to get out of the chair. He finds the coke in his pocket and has a little taste. Aldito comes in asking if they can see which one of them can stay underwater longer, but Fonsi's not in the mood. Aldito tries to get the coke container away from him and it spills. Fonsi freaks and smacks him, sending him into the glass on the floor. His face is bleeding and he starts screaming for his mom. The butler carries him over to Ana and Anette. Ana takes him to care for him and Anette goes running down the stairs.

Capellan, bizarrely in the midst of this bizarre episode, has the crew assembled in the observation room to the interrogation room. "Let's imagine we had the two of them in here."

Capellan interrogates Ana. Yeah, seriously. "What happened?" "It was an accident. The party was over. I like to swim in the mornings, especially on the first day of the year. Fonsi and I were talking about the party."

Flashback: Ana gives Fonsi a hard time and says he may have had fun, but the rest of them didn't. He smarmily asks what he can do to make up for it. Ana says she's sending some little gifts to some of the guests, with his card. He laughs and reminds her that he invited her to go shooting with him. Ana says she doesn't like guns. "Do you know why? Because you won't let me show you how to shoot. We'll do it today." Ana says it's a deal. She'll let him teach her how to shoot and he'll write something pretty on the cards that are going with the gifts. He scoffs. She says if he tells her where the gun is she'll go get it right now. He grins and says it's in "the wood box."

Fantasy interrogation: "Why do I think you acted to protect your daughter?" "Bella is innocent."

Ana goes into the office, gets the gun out of the box on the desk and holds it by two fingers. She goes back to the pool, where Fonsi is sipping flat champagne, I presume. He tells her that's not how you hold a gun. "Give it to me."

Fantasy interrogation: "It was all an unfortunate accident?" Ana agrees. "When I handed him the gun, it went off accidentally. I killed Fonsi."

Ana clumsily shoots Fonsi three times, the bloody butterfly flies away, and his corpse falls into the pool.

Fantasy interrogation: Capellan now has Anette on the other side of the table and asks her what happened. "My husband just died and I honestly don't have the head for this right now." Capellan says she was harboring a lot of resentment toward her husband.

Flashback to the four nastiest incidents: Fonsi screwing two chicks from the party; Fonsi screwing her aunt; Fonsi smacking her around; the butler carrying her brother with his bloody face.

Fantasy interrogation: Anette says no, it was just an accident. "Your mother put an end to that suffering." "My mother is incapable of hurting anyone, much less Fonsi. She's not a murderer. We just had a bad moment."

Flashback: Anette takes the gun out of the box and heads for the pool room. She marches right in, hesitates as he asks what she's doing with the gun and if she's going to kill him.

F.I.: "If I don't have Alfonso around to humiliate me anymore, then why do I feel like this? When am I going to forget, ma'am? When?"

Flashback: Anette shoots Fonsi, the bloody butterfly flies away, and he drops into the pool. Ana takes the gun out of her hand and they stare at each other. Ana says "It was an accident."

Ana Gallardo, widow of Van Diryk, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for aggravated manslaughter (which we have decided means "you were pissed at him and you didn't mean to kill him, but you did"). She died only a year after leaving the prison, the victim of a cancer that was diagnosed during her incarceration and which she refused to treat. Anette Van Diryk, widow of Ruiz Machado y Ortigoza, Countess Beltran Peña, retired to the estate of Montecorto in Andalusia, Spain, from where she never left and in which she died Christmas night 1995 at the age of 50. They say she lived and died a prisoner of her many ghosts.

Next week: who knows. My DVR crapped out halfway and we had to watch it online.

El Mundo de Telemundo: Week of March 7: Discuss among yourselves

¡Bienvenidos a marzo! I have not seen the last two episodes of Herederos so I will only comment on Reina.

REINA - Viernes
If Thursday's episode had the classic prostitute with the heart of gold, tonight's had the equally classic aging prostitute taking vengeance on the younger, more attractive woman. Hunky Santiago Fisterra comes into the bar and is immediately smitten with Teresa who is behind the cash register. Sheila, the aging prostitute makes a play for Santiago but he rejects her. Santiago doesn't get anywhere with Teresa but he is obviously not going to give up.

Meanwhile Don Epifanio runs for deputy, the equivalent of our Congressman, and wins. He has ambitions to go much farther in politics. Ramiro is stuck in prison in the US and is keeping his mouth shut but he's not a happy camper.

They call Santiago, El Gallego, which is someone from Galicia in northwestern Spain. The book tells us that he is a smuggler. He uses his fast boat to run hashish and other contraband from from Morocco to Gibraltar pursued by the Guarda, the Spanish police. The book says that the British, who own Gibraltar, didn't care what went on there as long as the drugs didn't end up in Britain. So if your boat could get to Gibraltar with its load of drugs, you were safe.

At this point, the novela veers away from the novel again. Sheila, the aging prostitute, and the fired cashier plant 2 kilos of hashish in Teresa's room and give the police a tip. Teresa is a arrested. It turns out that Jaime, her one night stand on the ramparts is a cop. He is also friends with Santiago. He wants to help but Dris, the bar owner, arranges a deal and offers it to Teresa - have sex with the chief of police, who already put the moves on her in the bar or be deported to Mexico. Teresa agrees to the deal and is released.

Santiago is ignoring his business to follow Teresa around and his partner gets a visit from some unnattractive types who are looking for Santiago.

One final comment on passports. I watched Thursday's episode last night and Willy was definitely holding a US passport that he told Teresa he found in their safe house. And Novela Maven, you are right that the book said that Teresa found Mexican passports with American visas there. It would not have made much sense visually for us to understand that Teresa could go to the US if she had a Mexican passport.

Triunfo del Amor #44 3/3/11 A triumph of all kinds of bad judgment

***This recap is now complete...for realz***

Cruz's heart is broken.

Pip finds out what Maria D knows about The Affair. She swears Linda's not bad, she's just confused. Or she's just drawn that way. Or something. Pip says it's all over when Vic finds out.

Oscar gives Vic the paperwork for the Miami trip along with some tickets, passports, etc. He noticed Maria D's has the last name "Expósito" (abandoned at birth) and Vic sorrowfully explains that's how it goes with orphans and it's why it's so difficult to locate lost children. She doesn't take the time to explain to him why she knows that. She does admit she's got problems with Os, but she thinks it's her fault for being chicken.

Fer goes back out of the house and sees that Cruz has left the rose sitting there. She looks around before sitting down next to it and remembering their last kiss. Geez, Fer. You're an idiot. She picks up the rose and smells it while a glycerine tear of puro dolor rolls down her cheek. She does this much better than her "snob" act.

Vic yells at Maria D for smacking Ximena around. If Maria D "disobeys" her again, she'll be fired. She won't make a move in Miami without Vic's permission. Maria doesn't verbally agree, but she doesn't disagree either.

Fabian tells Max he assumes Miami will be a Max and Maria pre-honeymoon. Max is like, "yeah, her, me, my mom, my crazy ex, and a whole crew." Fabian's not worried about it. He thinks Max should just sneak her away. Max finally tells him about Nathy's suicide attempt. Fabian runs right out of the office. There's another idiot.

Os keeps working on his song in his office. We see a picture of a younger Os playing guitar next to him. He remembers the argument with Vic over Fer dating Scuzzball. And calling her a smug, superior bitch. And Linda saying she's going to leave him because he won't make time for her and stands her up. And Gui telling him life is short and he's got a great opportunity for a young, willing love slave. Os thought bubbles, "Victoria…Linda." Idiot.

Part II

Bernarda likes Padilla's place, but she objects to the lack of any religious iconography. Padilla says it didn't come with the décor. Bernarda won't trust him if he doesn't hurry up and put up some statuary. She wants to pray over his place in the meantime. He really doesn't like the idea of either praying, or kneeling. "Prayer is joining with God." Padilla looks really, really uncomfortable. Like he's about to hurl. Or like he's just realized his loan shark is batshit. He looks up like he's looking for God up on the ceiling.

Linda is being nice to Nathy for now, bringing her tea. Fabian starts to ask her what happened, but Linda interrupts him, saying the doctor said not to ask her those questions or it might upset her. So he asks her out that night, but Linda says she can't. Nathy disagrees, puts on some new, smaller, pink glasses and insists she can go out with him. Fabian leaves and Linda jumps right to "You're not going to tell him, right?" Nathy asks, "Do you think I'm capable of betraying you the way you betrayed me?"Burn.

Vic tells Ximena that she pulled rank on Maria D. Ximena whines that it's not enough. As long as she works for Vic, she'll be stuck to Max. Vic says she thought Ximena was smarter than that. "If I fire her, Max will just go after her. I'll fire her when we get back from Miami." Oh, that makes sense. Ximena promises she'll be engaged to Max within a month. Vic says they can't take risks. Ximena needs to stick her hooks in Max no matter what it takes. Ximena feels faint and blames it on all the stress. Heh. It's a demon baby of Gui's isn't it?

Linda leaves her apartment and runs into Napo and Cruz. She mocks them and they give her crap because of Nathy. "Yeah, I feel bad about that." Napo asks if she's ready to quit playing with two men at once. Not that he cares about Os, but they're more worried about Juanjo. Linda says she'll break it off with Juanjo, but Cruz doesn't want Juanjo to suffer. Napo tells her she'd better find a way to not break Juanjo's heart or else. .."Like it or not, you're marrying him." Damn. It's the Naco Mafia!

Part III

Max pulls up at the fire house. He got a call from the comandante, but he doesn't know why. All the guys come running out to give Max a salute and officially thank him for saving Nathy. He gets awarded an honorary firemanship. It comes with a shiny helmet and a fanfare. Juanjo gives him a thumbs up. The guys break out to come slap Max on the back and throw him up in the air. I worry about him smacking someone on the head with his shiny helmet!

The new Amy-Wynn Pastor of the parish is teaching the guys about staining wood. Domingo leads the guys in a cheer for Lorena, including some mimed fireworks.

Osvaldo calls someone and asks for a favor. Vic will be in Miami and he'd like to go to the beach with Linda, so he needs someone to lie for him and say he's off filming…Gui, maybe? Os then calls Linda and invites her to a "honeymoon" on the beach. The maid overhears and gets pissed off, thinking Vic doesn't deserve to be cheated on.

Padilla comes to stink up Victoria's office some more. He reminds her of the night he raped her, so she takes his cigar and tells him to get out. Hello…security! Why are they giving just anyone a badge to get into this building? Padilla retrieves his cigar from the trashcan and gives her the message that if she doesn't leave Padre JP alone and forget about her daughter, she'll pay the price. Well, Vic has every intention of taking her daughter away from Burnie…as soon as she's back from Miami! Way to prioritize, there. Padilla says she'll be thrilled to see Vic and leaves.

Vic goes over to Bernarda's to tell Bernarda that she's ok with Maria M sleeping over at grandma's house because she has a "previous commitment" (point of order…isn't her commitment to her daughter previous to her commitment to do a show in Miami? Just checking) and also because she knows Bernarda has already started the brainwashing. Vic will come pick her up when the trip is over and in the meantime, she'd like Bernarda to not let her stay up too late, make sure she brushes her teeth, and don't let her eat too many sweets. Bernarda is like, F that! She won't want to go home with you 'cause I'm going to let her eat ice cream for breakfast! Vic pulls out the copy of the picture that Eva gave her and says if Bernarda doesn't hand over her daughter (after her very, very important Miami trip), Padre JP will find out what his mommy did to those poor people. Bernarda freaks out very quietly.

At the gym, Ximena is running and starts having trouble. She stops and a trainer comes over to help her sit down. That's the manliest butterfly tattoo I've ever seen. She full on faints and the trainer says to call a doctor.

Linda packs for her honeymoon trip. Nathy comes in to say she's going out with Fabian, but she'll be home early. Really, Nathy, I'd prefer a "don't wait up." Please trip on something and accidentally rip enough of that outfit to make it enticing. Linda brags about going to the beach with Os after spending the night in the love nest. Nathy shows a little spine and yells at her for taking the blame when Linda's just going to do the same crap again. Well, she wrote Juanjo a letter to get him off everyone's back for the weekend and then when she gets back she'll break up with him and then he's all Nathy's. What is her skull made out of? Because I think it would be the perfect material for beanies--nothing gets through.

Ximena's doc comes in and says she's not got anything serious. Just a parasite. It will grow internally for nine months and then she can carry it around outside the body. Yay! Hm. Ximena doesn't look happy. *shrug*

Part IV

Cruz is spending a sleepless night on the couch. He remembers Fer saying she was just toying with him. He thinks she was telling the truth and vows he won't go near her again. He remembers meeting her for the first time and the first time he kissed her. I drool over the Fer/Cruz montage. They really would be cute together if she wasn't such a spoiled rich girl. Damn Fer! He brings you roses and serenatas and he even knows how to cook. Your scuzzy skank boy can't top that. Screw the money! It's not like Scuzzbucket's in your "social class" either.

Ximena goes over to Gui's and tells him she's pregnant. Wow. That was direct. He laughs. "Dude, you know it's yours." Nope. He doesn't. And even if it was, he won't accept the kid and he won't marry her. Time to drug Max's drink and make him believe the baby's his. Better do it quick. (Come on, we all know it's coming.)

In Miami, the gang is welcomed by Joaquin (hello, hottie!), who shows an interest in Maria. Max says there's no time for conversation. They've got to get checked in. Joaquin waves them in the direction of their rooms and looks pensive.

Part V

Some random pimp and ho are in the back of a limo. Oh, wait…that's Os and Linda. And Linda's copious cleavage. Blah, blah, blah. I love Acapulco. We're gonna get busy. Blah, blah, blah. Linda wants to live there, she wants to go to the beach, blah, blah, blah.

Bernarda looks through her photo albums and sees the picture is right where she left it. She hits herself on the head wondering how Vic got a hold of it. She locks her cabinet of infamy again and goes shouting for Eva and Fausto. She demands the truth about who betrayed her by taking a picture and giving it to Victoria. They both swear they don't know what she's talking about. Fausto says if she couldn't trust them there would be more things missing, valuable things…why would they take a picture? What could they get out of that? Eva hesitantly suggests that they're not the only people in the house…not that she thinks that poor Maria could have done it…but that Alacran guy…hm? Fausto says maybe he comes into the house when they're not there. Bernie demands Fausto bring him immediately. Eva smirks behind her back.

Linda parades around on the beach with her ass hanging out of her bathing suit. Just before my DVR cuts off and I contemplate what horrid thing I could say about it that hasn't already been said, Mr. 5ft tops us all by asking why she needs a seawater enema.

Sweet William Levy in a kayak, that's all I've got on this episode. Please tip your waitstaff generously and try the chicken. I'll be back next week with another installment of "Pretty, Pretty People with More Looks Than Sense."

But wait...there's more...the upstairs DVR caught the very end of the show.

Linda answers Os's phone after he runs off on the beach, but she doesn't say anything when she realizes it's Victoria.

Bernarda yells at Fausto for not being able to find Alacran. Bernarda tries to get the info out of Maria M, but she doesn't know. She also doesn't know what business he's in. Bernarda slaps her for "lying" and saying she didn't open the house up to him to let him come in and steal. A screaming Maria M is dragged off by Eva with orders to lock her up. Fausto thought bubbles that Bernarda doesn't give a crap about other people's suffering, but she'll pay for it one day and he'll be the one to make her pay!

Linda tells Vic that Os is very busy at the moment and he won't be able to attend to her or anyone else. Linda goes on to say that she's also very busy, so bye. Vic is in shock. Linda giggles and runs back into the ocean to frolic with Os. They get sand in places I'd rather not think about.

Vic calls Gui, who tells her he doesn't know where Os is. Pedro gives him a shocked look. Yes, Pedro, you can't trust Gui.

Sweet William Levy in a kayak!

Tomorrow: Fer is conflicted; Joaquin makes a play; Max and Maria get sand in uncomfortable places.

La Fea Más Bella #239-240 3/4/11 Fernie stole the cookbookie from the cookie jar? Who me? Yes you! Couldn't be! Then who?

Capitulo 239.
Read Chapel Hill Fiddler's original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Luigi has a meltdown over this insult to all things holy. Fern and Omar listen as he calls the publisher and redirects the delivery to the middle of nowhere.

2. Fernando and Omar struggle for the chair, then they decide to "shoot" for it. We knew chess was over Omar’s head. Pinochle too. Today we discovered that chimchampu is beyond his mental faculties. Omar stares blankly at the rock and scissors, so Fern takes the chair. Fern would love to see Aldo embarrassed at the book launch sans books, but it’s part of Lety’s campaign to rescue Conceptos. He says, “I can’t do that to mi Lety.”

Omar dares to touch the bonsai.

3. At the book launch, Aldo is beside himself because the books haven’t arrived. The publisher says they were redirected, and Lety and Aldo assume that Fernando did it. Instead, Fern and Omar rescue the books. It’s a funny scene, though much of it is over my head. The driver calls Fern “blondie (huerito).” The driver, who is taller than Camil’s 6’3”, says that he’s from Oaxaca, whose people are very short. Fernando distracts them while Omar takes the books.

4. Just as Aldo is canceling the event, Fernando proudly arrives with the books he rescued for Lety’s sake. But instead of thanks, Lety snarls at him. Aldo privately asks Fern what he’s up to, diverting the books then playing the hero. Fern says he didn’t divert them, but he did rescue them so the event wouldn’t be ruined, and he did it for Lety.

5. Luigi throws a pity party because his plot failed. He looks for a new plot.

6. Ali is stuck at the office waiting for Marcia, and she wasn’t invited to the event. Tom offers to take her and she accepts. At the last minute, Marcia bounces into the room, mad at her brilliant secretary who never reserved a flight.

7. The “Oaxacan” driver arrives with the police, wanting to arrest Fern for stealing the books. Aldo tells Lety he’s sure Fern didn’t redirect the books. Lety would prefer to believe the worst of Fern. Omar asks Fern where he left Carloca, and Fern realizes he was supposed to pick her up. But Carla has just arrived on her own.

Capitulo 240.
Read Amanda's original recap, then come back here to discuss it.

1. Marcia’s not real happy with Ali. Ali never reserved her flight, wasn’t going to wait, calls Tom a desgraciado but accepted his offer, and will return Marcia’s SUV with an empty tank. Worse yet, Ali hands her a tissue and says, “I think you’re about to be displaced again.”

2. Fern asks Luigi why he redirected the books. Luigi whines that he loves Aldo but Aldo loves the ugliest woman on earth. Fern glares at him and Luigi says, “Don’t tell me you’re in love with her too?” Fern yells at him, “Yes, I love her. What of it?” Luigi bawls, “How can this be? What has she got?” Fernando pantomimes Lety’s features.

3. Luigi says he will make the night a disaster because two super guapos dare love that “thing.” Fern laughs and says, “Did you really believe I love Lety? C’mon!” Fern tells Lui, “I’d love if you are rotten to Aldo, but leave Lety alone. She’s the president and this campaign must succeed.”

4. Anaís sees her old pal Carla and she gushes about the galán who was smitten with Lety in Acapulco. Fernando gets upset. When he hears Anaís likes Aca, he rushes off with an idea.

5. Aldo of Perpetual Universal Harmony is still livid, I guess because Fern rescued the books??
A: Fern drives me nuts. He’s selfish and insensitive (projection?) I can’t stand to see him near Lety.
Fausto: He still loves Lety.
A: Yes, but I’m not worried. He’s incapable of showing his love. Instead he goes around showing off “his new love,” throwing it in Lety’s face.
F: Maybe he’s trying to make Lety jealous?
A: Maybe, but I don’t think Lety would fall for his childish games again. (Nice try, Aldo, but it’s not a game, it’s true love, and you know it. No wonder you’re scared to see them together.)

6. Luigi asks if Lety will give the opening speech from the stage. At the word “speech” he smells fear and exploits it. He reminds her she’ll be in front of corporate heads and the international press.

7. I love this scene!
Fernando finds Lety, afraid to give the speech after what Luigi said. She doesn’t feel worthy because it’s not her company. Fern tells her that she’s president because she deserves it, and the facts back it up. She’s fixed problems and put this campaign together. She’s worked for this moment all her life. Now is the chance to enjoy her success, to show the world what she’s made of. Fern says, “I know you hate me, and you don’t believe what I say. So don’t believe in me. But believe in yourself. Show them the woman I fell in love with.” He kisses her hands, then he backs off, afraid he’s invaded her space. When he leaves, Lety gazes and sighs, “Don Fernando.”

8. Aldo heard all this. The look on his face says he knows he’s a goner. Lety tries to minimize it; she doesn’t believe anything from Fern. Aldo says he hates to admit it, but he’s seen another side of Fern and now he respects him much more. Lety dreamily says, “That’s the Fernando I fell in love with.” Aldo says, “I’ll keep fighting so you fall in love with me.”

9. Marcia and Alicia arrive and see Carla pawing Fern. Teresita tries to wedge between them, asking, “Where’s Marcia?” Fern hustles her away and explains to Carla that his mama doesn’t like any woman except Marcia.

10. Lety trips on her way to the stage, and Fern and Aldo dive to help her. Lety gives her little speech, then Fern competes with Aldo for attention.

Eva Luna #83 Thu 3/3/11 Cruella at the haunted mansion... Eva drinks some truth serum and Slimeball gets cocky and will pay the consequences

This recap is from Marta

Repeats:
Leo questions his mother and she says ‘my children only includes u, Vicky is not my dau’
Mari: You have to tell your sis that the man she is about to marry is your lover!
Dano/Eva at beach ‘you don’t know how much I need you…/ it can’t be…
Julio: She used you to kill me.
Deb: I swear it was him who took you away from me! / Don’t mess with my dad, ma’am!
Vick: I won’t change Dano for anyone, and noone will take him from me.
Jul: Don’t deny your son the love of his father…
Voiceover: and tonight… everything can change…

At the party at board house, Fran and Marisol are smoochy..
Mari: Better late than never.
Adri: Not late, SUPER late! Between the wedding and the party uyou could have had even two kids! And I would have two cousins!
Mari says not yet, Fran says well, I want to get started on my ‘homework’ tonight…
(Alicia shows a disgusted face at the subject line… door bell rings)
Dano arrives…
Eva is very unsettled… everyone else seems happy he is there.

Thomas is surrounded by cop cars… FF> eventually he gets out of car and gets surrounded and later shot in lower chest…

Fran is a good party host, greets Dano… Dano gives them his wedding presents, a night at the pres suite at best city hotel (all on his tab), a bed for them, and a truck/camioneta.
Eva can’t help but be impressed. Fran and Mari could not be happier and more thankful.

Leo and LiLeach… having a good time…
Leo tells her Eva wanted him to go to a ‘fiestecita’ with her… what would I do there with her ‘friends’? nah! Not a chance… don’t worry, she just went to the boardhouse she used to live in… and there is nothing that could worry me… (wanna bet, Leoslime?)
Later, Leo and Lileach get on it… with no clothes…

Dano is continuing to greet everyone, asks Eva if she feels better, yup… Pablito is happy camper. Mari asks Dano and Eva to make an exception tonight and not to fight. Dano promises, the last thing he wants to do is fight with Eva… Eva tries to excuse herself.
Dano: NO, wait! There is something I want you to know.
Eva: What?
Dano: This afternoon at the beach I understood that the more I try to forget you and hate you, the more I love you. (they get really close, about to kiss but Fran comes back and breaks the magic moment… he appologizes, did I mess up? ‘no mas tantito, francisco’)

Eva comes to kitchen to help out, but everyone has it all together… Eva asks Mari if she is happy, very!...
Mari: And you?... Ali told me you got engaged to Leo… that you will marry in a month…. Eva, are you sure?
Eva: yes… he loves me and the kid as his own… and I need to restart my life…
Mari: Excuse me, but if you want advice, think about it. I think you are denying yourself real happiness, and your son while at it.
Eva: Why are you saying that?
Mari: Well, seeing how you and Dano looked at each other, it shows he is the love of your life, and also the father of your son.

Dano: Is he always so happy-go-lucky?
Mati: Yes, usually, sometimes he gets ansy but for the most part, yes.
(Mati realizes she left the baby’s bottle in kitchen, Dano offers to get it, but Mati would rather he stay with the baby while she gets it… Dano is more than happy to oblige…)

Dan: Hey, want to be my friend?... I would love that…. What?... ah… well, I like you too…. Hey, now that we decided to be friends, we will have to tell your mommy to let us get to know each other…
(by now Eva is watching them from behind, and she remembers Julio telling her Dano is the baby’s real dad and his advice to not deny her son the love of his real father)
Dano: you are so handsome… look at the elephant and the gyraffe… (to Eva) you have a very handsome son, Eva…
Eva: Thank you.
Dano: and very easygoing (tranquilo). Do you mind if I hold him?
Eva: No, no.. go ahead.
Dano: Come here little boy…

LiLeach and Leo still in bed… Lileach seems a bit jealous of Eva because she has lots of money and that Leo is marrying her. Leo comments that he liked Eva since back when she had no money. Lileach admits Eva is beautiful and says now that she is rich you like her even more. Lileach says she is falling more in love with Dano each day… Leo says that is what I am paying you for… Lileach comments that Dano and Vicky will divorce and she will marry Dano very soon, and that Vicky herself is getting really bored with Dano and getting consolation elsewhere… Leo gets interested in finding out who, but Lileach won’t tell…

Back to Dano and Eva with baby…
Dano: I always have liked children.
Eva: It shows. What surprises me is that you would care so much about mine.
Dano: Do you think I would be so selfish to reject him just because he is not mine? Pablito is an innocent creature. He is not to blame for anything! Look! He is totally oblivious to what is happening between you and I.
Eva: Well, it is good that you think that way.
… (out at the party they are asking where Eva is… they are hoping for a reconciliation tonight)
Dano: Know what? I don’t really know why but I felt a great connection when I met him… really, it is something hard to explain… Isn’t it so, my friend? … (continues playing with him, Eva looks concerned, or maybe having a guilt trip?)

At old misery manor, Marce is listening to Julio’s laugh and is very scared… She keeps walking down the hallway and gets to the door of Julio’s rooms… then she hears his coughing… Cruella remembers what Renata told her about the strange noises and about the lady friend medium saying the spirit of Julio still roaming around the house…
When the dead don’t really leave is because they left unfinished business on earth…
Marcela begins to yell who is in there??...
Jul: Nooo you can’t kill me! I will beat you!
Cruella: You are dead!!! It can’t be you!! Renata!!!

Dano: Eva you have no idea how much I would be willing to give for this kid to be ours…
(Eva gets really nervous and upset)… what is wrong?
Eva: Nothing.
Dano: Why do you get like that?
Eva: I told you nothing!
Dano: Yes something is up with you Eva! And with me too! … when I had Pablito in my arms, I felt a special connection with him! As if he was my son! I felt it in the blood! I felt he was mine! So I will ask you again, tell me the truth! Is it true that Leonardo is his father or is it me?... Eva, please… please, answer me… am I the father of your son?
(Eva has reached her limit)
Eva:… yes, Daniel…
(Dano’s’ eyes get glossy instantly, with a smile that goes across… and projects right into Eva, she can’t help but smile back at him… he caresses Pablito’s face and Pablito instantly looks at him as if he recognized him…)
Dano: I knew it… I knew it.. .you heard, champ?... I am your dad!!... I felt it… something inside was telling me… thank you, Eva… thank you for this gift… for telling me the truth… Pablito is my son…
Eva: (can’t help but smile even though she is also crying)… Yes, Daniel…
Dano: why didn’t you tell me before??... this changes everything!!...
Eva: (suddenly gets serious) Noo…
Dano: OF course! You have to talk to Leonardo and suspend that stupid (disparate) wedding and I will talk to Vicky…
Eva: No, no, Daniel!! this does not change anything between us!
Dano: What do you mean no?
Eva: No, you and I cannot be together!
Dano: Why not, Eva?

(Leo keeps trying to get LiLeach to spill the beans about who Vicky’s lover is… Lileach says for now just settle to know that he exists and that it is convenient for both of us. He agrees)

Cruella keeps going crazy listening to Julio laugh, yells that he is dead and yells for Renata…

Dano: Eva, please..
Eva: You won’t talk to Vicky and I won’t cancel my wedding with Leonardo…
Dano: But why?? You know I love you!! And I feel you love me too! Pablito is our son!
Eva: Enough, please!!
Dano: Eva, please!...
Eva: We cannot be together!...
Dano: Why…?
(Eva remembers when Leo showed her that Dano was the one that killed her dad)
Eva: I don’t want my boy near you!!
Dano: What are you saying??
Eva: His father will be Leonardo! Not you!!

Lileach tells Leo not to tell Vicky that she told him about her lover… at the right time Dano will find out, will leave Vicky and will come to me…

Cruella asks Renata for the keys to Julio’s room… Cruella is really ansy…

Eva sends the boy with Matilde…
Dano: That child is mine!! You cannot separate him from me! I have the right to see him! To raise him!!
Eva: No!! You have no right!
Dano: I will recognize him as my son and you cannot prevent that!
Eva: Of course I can prevent you. The only father that child will know is Leonardo!!
Dano: But why, Eva?? I don’t understand you!! Why did you tell me then, to make me suffer more?? Look!! To know you are with another man and on top of that to know my son has another father!... was that your objective (in telling me)?? To make me go crazy??
(Eva is leaving)
Dano: Eva, wait!! We cannot let this be as is!!
Eva: On the contrary! We have nothing to talk about! His only father will be Leonardo! His last name will be Arizmendi!! And you cannot prevent it!!
Dano: I will fight for my rights for my son!!
Eva: You won’t get anywhere!
Dano: We will see about that! (Dano leaves before he does anything else he will regret, good move on his part)

Mati comes back…
Mati: Eva… did you tell him that he is your son’s dad?
Eva: Yes… although I regret having done that… I could not take it anymore with the secret!

Cruella continues to agonize in Julio’s room, she keeps hearing his voice… Renata denies it, Cruella insists Julio was playing his video games LOL!! She heard his laugh and his voice… Renata says ‘see what I said? That is his spirit which can’t rest in peace… Cruella keeps yelling at her to shut up and leave… ‘you will not scare me, Julio!! If I need to, I will kill you again, Desgraciado!!’ (Renata hears this so she gets confirmation it was Cruella who tried to kill him, she says I will help Julio finish with you)

Dano excuses himself from the party folks and leaves… but first Adriancito sends Laurita his greetings. Dano will pass on the msg. Eva says she feels bad but she will stay…

Alicia unveils her wedding present, a symbol of their love… none other than pigs feet… both Marisol and Fran cringe at the sight of the platter…

Renata comes back to her room…. And whispers… everything came out perfectly! (surprise, Julio is there smiling ear to ear!)
Jul: What did Marcela say?
Ren: She swears she heard your voice, that she heard you laughing.
Jul: jaja… this is the beginning of her torment.
Ren: And she deserves it for what she said when I left your room… now I am convinced she did try to kill you… I will walk you out to Dr Garcia’s car…

At the party, Ricardo returns Eva her money and tells her Vicente Olmos, the guy she ran into in his hospital room, paid for his bill…

(Thomas gets shot … ceeeeeeeeeeelebrate good times come on!!)

Eva also asks Ricardo about Tomas… unfortunately yes… he tries to take Adriancito with him again today… Eva tells Ricardo she will give him a monthly allowance for Adriancito and enough to save for his college education. Ricardo says what if they take him from us. Eva assures him that won’t happen. They will hire the best lawyers for them.

Leo hires Tony to take some merchandise to a warehouse, gives him the address… this merchadise is super expensive… will pay everything I owe you at the end of this job. Come by the house when done, and no calls pls. Leo pays Gallo for Claw’s death… nice touch about the drugs planting. Why did you do it yourself? I was bored… Leo says he was also bored with her, she became a burden. Gallo says he can guess what will happen with his new woman if she ends up boring him. Leo says that won’t happen but if it does, before I kill her, I will make her mine…

Fran and Mari arrive at the hotel suite Dano reserved for them… very nice, petals in bed, champagne, the whole package… ‘are you a virgin?’’’… just kiddin!... FF>

Dano gets home, Vicky is sleeping, Dano looks at her with a disillusion face, then goes to sleep in the other room…

Ali asks Eva if she told Dano that he is Pablito’s dad…Ali says you did well… because deep in your heart you still love him, that is why you are very wrong in marrying Leo… Eva, I beg you, suspend that wedding… don’t make that huge mistake…
Eva: No, Alicia!! No matter what Dano does, I will marry Leo.. he will be my son’s only dad.

Justa is giving Adriancito breakfast… Ricardo comes and says he will also go with Adriancito… Ricardo comments the party last night would have been the perfect occasion to invite her relative, Vicente Olmos. Justa gets instantly uneasy… Ricardo asks her if she has heard of him again. Nope.. .your family is strange, but I hope he will be back soon, I liked him. The cop investigator arrives, not that good news… we don’t have much time. Tomas fought with the cops and got shot, he is very critical. Adriancito asks Ricardo what that means, Ricardo says he is dying… Adriancito is very upset.

Vicky and LiLeach are jogging, Vicky says she thought Dano would leave her when he found out about the ‘attempted suicide’… he only changed bedrooms… Lileach tells her to be careful and keeps advising Vicky to keep an eye on Eva, she is still your worst enemy…

At the office, Leo enters his office … surprise, Dano is in his chair … what are you doing in my office?... Dano: Waiting for you.

Renata asks Cruella if she feels better, Cruella asks her not to tell anyone what happened last night… your stories and the drinks I had caused me the hallucinations! By the way, has Leo asked you about Vicky’s adoption? Knowing him, he will try to dig for more details… All he needs to know is you went with me to that town… Not a word to him about Vicky being Justa and Julio’s child. You have to take that secret to your toumb.

Ricardo, Justa and Adriancito are at hospital. Doctor tells them Tomas needs more blood, but he has a rare blood type. All three of them want to donate. Adriancito gets ansy saying I am his son!! I have to donate! I am his son! I must have his same blood type!

Julio is glad Eva told Dano he is the child’s dad… Eva insists she does not want Dano near the child because Dano killed her dad… Julio says he understands but he also knows Eva feels better now that she told him… and about the subject of your dad’s death… why don’t you go ahead and accuse him of it?... Eva says there is something that stops her, that does not let her hate him as she wants… Julio says that means you still have doubts that it is true… Eva says yes, doubts and fear… fear of what?... of finding out it is true…

Dano tells Leo Eva told me the truth last night.. that Pablito’s true father is me, he is my son…

Previews didn’t record but they did show interesting stuff, like Eva shouting to Vicky in front of Dano and Leo that Dano is indeed her son’s dad… and Cruella putting poison in the baby’s bottle and Matilde about to feed the bottle to Pablito.

Llena de Amor #141 (Mex. 146) Thu 3/3/11 The Kristelinator Turns Oliver's World Upside Down,Gretel Starts Living Another Nightmare And Medusa Slithers Out Of The Slammer

Recap by Audrey

Repeats from last night of people’s reactions when they find out Fedra is getting out of jail: Tio Maximo swears he is going to get his pistol to prevent Fedra from returning to the family home; Marinela calls Gretel to get the files out of her bedroom at the pension and bring them to comisario Tejeda’s office; Capitán José swears to Netty that he will personally guarantee that no one will hurt her or he niece ever again; And Gretel tells Netty that now that Fedra is getting out of jail, she’s going to protect her from Fedra as long as she lives. She tells Netty that Fedra is not her real mother - much to Netty’s shock.

Kristel at the Agency where staff is preparing a set for some kind of commercial that Kristel has dragged Oliver in to do. Oliver is not looking too comfortable, but since Kristel needs a “real man” to fill this role he seems intent on obliging.

Kristel is busy schmoozing Lorenzo, reminding him that he agreed to indulge all her whims. Lorenzo is not so sure about this commercial. He tries to explain to Kristel that Oliver is a “naco”, not a model. But Kristel tells him she doesn’t want a pre-fabricated man to do the shoot. She wants a natural one, and one that is “wild”. Then Kristel starts sweet talking Lorenzo about how “grateful” she’s going to be if he’ll just approve and sign this contract. Well, Lorenzo melts at that.

Back to setting up the photo shoot. Kristel starts really blowing sunshine up Oliver’s pant leg about his incredibly sexy manliness. Ooops, it looks like Oliver is taking it all in. But Oliver is just not so sure he’s willing to do this model bit. Kristel lays it out the way she sees the world. By being a model, Oliver can make some serious money. Gosh, he can travel to Dubai, Turkey, Bariloche, wearing the latest fashionable clothes, things he would never in his life imagine having. His life would completely change. Oliver: “Who told you I needed any of that?” “Oh! You no, of course not. But my sister, yes!” Gretel was born in a golden crib. Oliver’s going to have to save if he wants to be with Gretel. Oliver’s not buying that. Gretel only asks for love from him and he can give her a tons of that. Kristel cleverly points out “what ‘lame’ places are you planning to take Gretel for your honeymoon, when Gretel has always dreamed since she was a young girl of spending her honeymoon in the Costa Azul?” “Oops, is that really expensive?” asks Oliver warily. “Sure it is.” replies Kristel. “But gee Olly - with this photo shoot you should be at least able to pay for the plane tickets.” Oliver’s eyes bug out when he sees the numbers in the contract. “Is this for real?” He can’t get over it. “I get paid all this just to smile at the camera? Smiling is my forte,” he confidently declares and shows one off. Oliver falls for all this hook line and sinker, signs the contract “con mucho gusto” accompanied by lots of patronizing fussing over him by Kristel. As soon as he signs, Kristel yells for makeup. Doris appears and asks “Oliver? What are you doing here?” “Modeling.” “What?”

Gretel is still talking with Netty at the pension. Gretel always knew deep down inside she couldn’t be the daughter of that woman. Gretel explains how Fedra told her she carries RyD blood in her veins, but her Tia Carlota would not let her father marry her birth mother. But Netty tells Gretel that she loved Emiliano all her life, but she never had a child. Poor Gretel, she realizes Netty is not her real mother. She picks up the folders and runs off very upset saying “I was wrong, I was wrong!” leaving a bewildered Netty behind.

Benigno is escorting Paula out food shopping. He is so happy the General finally left the basement. But how could Paula turn down his marriage proposal? She has her reasons. Oops, Paula left her bag of onions behind. Benigno runs off to look for it. When he comes back, Paula has disappeared!

Back at the RyD mansion, Emanuel walks around the corner. (Dang, Emanel looks good! Freshly shaved. Those clothes fit so well. Hmmm - I may have replayed this bit a few times.) He’s noisily munching on grapes. He runs right into Ilitia with her brazos cruzados. “Wow, you appeared! Might one know where and with whom you spent the night?” she demands. (OK - I’m already laughing. We saw Emanuel wake up in bed with Jorge with that chastity chest of drawers on the bed between them. That was hilarious - and how did that piece of furniture never topple onto either one of them?) Ilitia continues: “It couldn’t have been with that flamenca because she was here last night.” Emanuel explains he can’t answer - his mouth is full! “Oh, you must have been with Marianela. You’ve been seeing her behind my back, right?” asks Ilitia. “Ilitia, we’re divorcing, remember? So I don’t have to give you explanations. But here - have a grape! No? They’re great! They’re more in the kitchen.” Ilitia vows once again that no one is stealing her baybee!

Doris is with Oliver in makeup. Oliver is boasting how this is all going to help him save money for when he and Gretel marry. They are interrupted by Andre and Jackie making yet another escena de celos as Jackie has caught Andre yet again in suspicious physical interactions with other models. “Aren’t you bored with having a different woman every part of the day?” asks Doris. “Please get out of my dressing room. I’m making up a ‘real man’.” “You must be jealous!” concludes Andre. Doris has a long winded explanation as to how she’s not. Andre doesn’t buy that for a second. He leaves after giving Doris a flirtatious goodbye and calls Oliver a galán. Oliver: “Wow, what a pain-in-the-ass that guy is!” “If Andre found out how I sigh over him. Well, I would fall into the floor.” replies Doris. Back to work!

Ilitia is with some model agency boss, signing a contract for modeling work. Oh, she’s so delighted to have gotten this contract. She really needs work to distract herself from her personal life. There is this “mujercita” and this other “mujersota” who are both determined to steal her husband. The boss lady is not looking so impressed by Ilitia sharing her personal life details. “It’s always the same with you Ilitia. Forget your personal problems. Concentrate, please!” The modeling boss doesn’t want to have to nag her about her work.

But Ilitia does need one thing for this job. She needs a body guard for the whole time. She doesn’t want anyone to assault her. Boss lady doesn’t think that’s going to be a problem in Acapulco and Ilitia is exaggerating. “But, fine, go ahead. Hire a bodyguard and the agency will cover the expenses.” Ooo - Ilitia looks very pleased with the idea.

Victoria marches into comisario Tejeda’s office. “You can’t let Fedra free!” she implores. “Sorry,” says the commissioner, “but Bernardo Izquierdo declared himself guilty of the fraud and after his confession there is nothing I can do to detain Fedra.” “But Gretel is on her way with the evidence we have against that woman.” cries Victoria. “I hope so. Because without that evidence, my hands are tied.” answers Tejeda.

Garduño is at the jail crooning at Fedra through the bars. “I hope after this you will forgive Fonseca for betraying you by refusing to marry your daughter.” “Hmmmm” gargles Fedra back. “Pretend it never happened. We’ll keep being partners ‘como si nada’.” “I’ll never forget it was you who got me out of prison,” swears Garduño, “and I am not a ungrateful man, Señora Curiel. For me, it’s a pleasure to be able to return the favor.” and he hands Fedra an envelope through the bars as Gretel walks up behind him. (Gretel! What on earth are you doing confronting your nemesis alone even if she is behind bars? Typical telenovela hubris of the innocent always wanting to walk right into the lion’s den and then so surprised when they get devoured.)

“Oh Gretel, mi vida,” sneers Fedra “I always knew sooner or later you could come to see me.” Garduño excuses himself. Gretel daringly lists Fedra’s crimes including murder. “Only you are able to associate yourself with those kinds of rats, right?” asserts Gretel. “Because I’m behind bars you think you can say whatever you want, but you haven’t conquered me yet, Gretel.” slimes Fedra back. “Even behind these bars I can destroy your life, do you understand me?” ( Hissssssssss — I feel like I’m watching a cobra sight it’s prey. )

Gretel wants to know from her lips: “who is my real mother?” “Me” says Fedra with evil pleasure. “But here is the woman who gave birth to you” and hands her the envelope Garduño just gave her. Gretel rips open the envelope and finds a picture of Paula being escorted down the street by mobster Dandi, no less. She is shocked and horrified.

Kristel is in Lorenzo’s office where she has laid Oliver’s contract on his desk and kisses all over Lorenzo thanking him for approving the contract. He can deny her nothing, Lorenzo says. And he has a surprise for her. He’s already talked to Muñeca and asked for a divorce because he’s willing to put everything on the line for her. “Whoa! Slow down, calm yourself” says Kristel. “Remember first you have to formally ask my daddy for my hand.” How can you even think I would do that” asks Lorenzo. “That’s crazy! We have to run away together, because your dad will never ever accept our relationship.” Well if he won’t do that then no way is he willing to risk everything for her, Kristel complains and starts to march out of his office. Lorenzo chases after he: “Mi amor,” kissing on her. “OK, I”ll talk to your dad. I promise as soon as I have my divorce, I”ll go talk to your dad.” “You swear?” asks Kristel. “Swear to God!” answers Lorenzo in English. “What if Muñeca tells my mom what is going on? That would be horrible.” worries Kristel. “Don’t worry. You’re mother won’t say anything as long as Christian is in my power.” answers Lorenzo. OK - it’s getting hot and heavy in the office, Lorenzo starts to disrobe, “I have to have you even though I have to face your father and the whole world!” He gets Kristel on the desk just in time for BOM to walk in and yell “Can you all explain to be what kind of spectacle this is?”

A very nasty sneering Fedra against the bars: “How many times have I told Emiliano that sending you to University would be throwing money in the trash, but I was wrong because now I want you to be my lawyer.” Now Fedra’s got Gretel begging that she not hurt Paula. “I’m contracting you mi vida - aren’t you excited? Your first client - your mommy!” Gretel is still totally distracting processing the implications that Paula is her mother. “Paula es mi mama!” That Tia Carlota wanted to separate Tio Maximo and Paula - so Tio Maximo must be her father from whom she inherited the RyD blood! “Your obligations as my lawyer are very simple” sneers Fedra. “I want to you listen to them and do exactly what I tell you - do you agree? First you forget your alliance with Marianela and get that big meatball to keep her mouth shut. Next, you make the evidence against me disappear, and finally, you get me out of here. Do you have that clear? Of course, if you don’t do what I say, the same thing that happened to Luis Felipe will happen to Paula. Garduño’s men have standing orders to throw Paula from a 5th story window.” (Boy this is so cold! Spitting cobra attacks. Gretel is completely terrorized. I’m really getting depressed here.)

Delicia is chatting at Jorge as he empties drawers in Marianela’s room. “You must be a great friend of Marianela because otherwise you would never help her so much. Are you doing all this for friendship? Or because you feel something more for her?” “Oh, Marianela asked me this as a special favor and I couldn’t deny her.” Delicia wants it spelled out: “But you couldn’t deny her because you were a friend or because..... Huh?” Jorge has just pulled some bundles of letters from the bottom of the drawer. “What are those - letters?” “These look like the letters that Emanuel wrote to Marianela when she was living in Madrid,” Jorge says. “Of course!” says Delicia. “She returned them all. She never read them.” “Well - it doesn’t matter that Emanuel saved them.” says Jorge. “I need space for my stuff. Please - throw those in the trash.” “Sure - I’ll throw them right away. Don’t worry about it.” answers Delicia as she runs off clutching the letters.

Back in Lorenzo’s office as he stumbles around behind his desk with his trousers down at his ankles. “You left Kristel standing at the altar - you have nothing to complain about here” asserts Lorenzo, as Mauricio follows him to grab him by the throat and Kristel yells at him to let Lorenzo go. “You were crying all over me and now you are sleeping with this guy?” Mauricio grits out in disgust. “Oh you thought I was going to cry over you, kill myself over you - well, zero!” taunts back Kristel. “And just so you get it! I made love with Lorenzo the same day you stood me up at the altar, what do you think about that!” “Oh well, how great you finally met your prince, Kristel.” replies Mauricio. as he piles on insults about Lorenzo’s age and supposed lack of prowess. “You know, Lorenzo, it’s too bad that you had to pick up the garbage I threw out” continues Mauricio, “Well I”ll leave you to it, if it he still can.” “Oh he can!” counters Kristel as Mauricio leaves.

Commissioner Tejeda is begging the judge to just give him one more hour to bring in evidence that Fedra Curiel committed other serious crimes. Too late, the judge just signed the release order. Gretel RyD better get here as soon as possible. Marianela can’t imagine what is holding her up!!! She’s not answering her cell phone either! Marianela calls Netty asking her for Gretel. She left the pension a while ago, but before she left she said she wasn’t Fedra’s daughter and she seemed really upset and left running saying that she was wrong about something.

Gretel is wandering through some wooded grounds holding the folders containing the evidence against Fedra. She is remembering a past conversation with Paula who always treated her like a daughter. Paula is telling her that she now has a chance to rebuild her life, and Gretel telling Paula how incredibly alone she felt locked up in the cave. That she had nothing and nobody. Paula told her: “You have me and I’m willing to go anywhere with you.” She remembers Fedra’s cold threat against Paula and has a flash back of Fedra with Luis Felipe and pushing him over the balcony. And sitting at a bonfire as a child. She puts the two folders of evidence in a barrel containing dried leaves, pours over flammable liquid and sets them on fire, crying.

Ilitia saunters into Brandon’s office with a come hither smile on her face. The theme reminds us “You’re so sexy”, but Brandon looks more annoyed than impressed. “Might one know why you are here?” he demands, “It’s not a good day for me, Ilitia.” “Oh, I’ve got a job offer for you!” vamps Kristel. “I need a bodyguard for my swimsuit modeling job in Acapulco. I need protection from all the nacos there, and I want you!”

Back at the agency photo shoot. Kristel in a big pink fuzzy rob yells for Oliver to come out, she doesn’t want to wait all day. A nervous Oliver peeks out: “Are you sure I need to come out like this?” “Oh sure, sweetie,” Kristel bubbles, “this is an underwear commercial.” “OK, I’m coming.” Oliver tip toes out clutching a towel to his body while Kristel looks on delightedly and starts to cheer him on. “Let go of the towel!” LOL! — Oliver is wearing plaid boxers, flip-flops and his police pistol shoulder harness. Kristel croons at him to come closer. She has to drag him out in front of the camera while he tries to cover himself with his hands. “Relax” the camera lady tells him. “You need to remember that Kristel is a woman you adore and you are trying to seduce her.” Oliver doesn’t look so sure about this. “One supposes, hmmm?” Kristel takes off her pink robe revealing sheer black negligee over pink bra and black striped panties. Oliver’s eyes just about bug out. Kristel drags him over to the sofa, pulls off the shoulder harness and pushes him down to sit on the couch while Oliver looks away from her. Kristel is all over Oliver as she starts posing for the camera. Oliver tries to pose but this is freaking him out. Kristel, however, is in her element.

Gretel is at the agency looking for her Dad. Doris grabs her as she rushes by. You came to see Oliver on his first day as a model, right? In the photo shoot Kristel is on her back on the couch holding Oliver down on top of her as he wriggles uncomfortably and tries to keep some space between their bodies. Kristel tells him to calm down, to dominate her, to play bad cop! We get a growl out of Oliver for that - LOL! But he doesn’t like this horizontal business. She tells him to make eye contact and then starts kissing him as he protests - “no, not lips to lips!” “Oliver!” yells Gretel as she comes in and Oliver goes flying over the couch as Kristel covers herself up. “Estupido!” “What me?” asks Oliver as Gretel looks over at him in disgust.

Now it’s Bernardo cooling his heels behind bars. El capitán appears. Bernardo rises and salutes his captain. Like you yourself said you meet your true friends at funerals and prisons. “No,” says the captain, “I HAD a great friend named Bernardo Izquierdo but he is not you. The years have changed you and turned you into a person worthy of all my contempt.” “No, no capitán - you know me.” answers Bernardo. “No, I don’t know you anymore. It’s only the second time I see you in 27 years, and this time behind bars! Because you are accused of stealing money from a good woman.” “Understand please,” Bernardo answers. “I did it for Juana Felipa. I had to take the blame on myself because they had her trapped. I’m doing like always, like you told me, protecting Juana Felipa.” “I want you to tell me if it’s true that you and Juana Felipa are a pair of murderers.” warns el capitán, “and you better not lie to me Bernardo!”

Emiliano has come to see Fedra still in her cell, seated again on on her throne with her skirts spread around her. She’s wondering what the hell he is doing there since he said he wouldn’t lift a finger to help her and goes on as how he has mistreated the mother of his children. “You have some kind of demon protecting you Fedra,” Emiliano says, “because a judge just signed your release. From now you are free.” A prison guard walks up to unlock the cell. And out slinks Fedra swishing her long skirt around and pinching a young guard’s cheek as she saunters proudly down the hall.

Marianela is at the RyD mansion wondering what happened to Gretel. She’s hasn’t appeared anywhere around here Delicia tells her. “Is it true that the devil is returning?” “That’s why I need to find my cousin as soon as possible,” Marianela explains, “so we can make Fedra spend the rest of her days in jail.” Delicia runs off to find Axel who might know where Gretel is, but first stops to show Marianela the box of letters Jorge had found in Emanuels chest of drawers. Marianela recognizes them - that she has sent every single one back. “Well, I read them all” Delicia tells her as Marianela snatches them back in disgust, “I couldn’t resist. And you better read them all too yourself.” Delicia leaves to find Axel. Marianela sits on the bed with the letters and starts to read them. We hear Emanuels tearful voice: “My mind can’t grasp what dark reason you had for abandoning me, but my heart is stubborn and keeps waiting for you. I love you, my lovely gordita. Emanuel RyD.” Marianela opens another one: “You continue not answering me, my lovely gordita. At least tell me if you don’t love me any more, but don’t keep me in this anxiety of knowing nothing about you. I’m going crazy. It’s agonizing not having you close. Not being able to touch you, kiss you. Why did you teach me to love if you were going to leave me? Come back soon, please. My heart misses you. I love you. I love you very much Marianela.”

Marianela finally asks herself the question we have all been wondering for months. “ Oh my god,” Marianela whispers. “Here is all the love Emanuel felt for me. How is it possible that I have not read even one of these letters.” “Forgive me, Emanuel, forgive me.” she whispers. “What is it that I need to forgive,” asks Emanuel as he walks right up to her. And Victoria tries to hide the letters behind her back.

Back in Brandon’s office: “How does it even occur to you to try to get me as your bodyguard?” demands Brandon. Ilitia thinks she is doing a tough guy like him an obvious favor. “Wouldn’t you like to earn a little extra? I know you need could use it.” “Ilitia, do you think I’m here to satisfy the whims of spoiled, rich little girl? Get real - I’m a police inspector and chief of this station. My job is to nab criminals, not to watch the back of a self-important girl much less carry her luggage.” “Well I need guarding, but don’t worry, gorilla, I’ll find someone taller, less naco, more handsome, with bigger muscles, no problem!” “You want a bodyguard?” asks Brandon - “No problem!” He opens the door and calls his biggest lumbering policeman over to take the job.

Back in VM’s room: “Oh Emanuel, I didn’t sense you come in, I was talking about something else not about you” as she gets up to hide the letters under her pillow. Emanuel looking very angry walks up to the pillow. “What are you hiding?” He finds the letters and picks them up. “These are letters I wrote to Marianela! Why do you have these? Can I know who gave you permission to read these?” “No one,” answers VM but then says she get permission from Marianela when she talked to her on the phone. “I can’t believe your are willing to read my things, to hide my things.” “I didn’t hide anything. Delicia found them.” VM goes running after Emanuel as he leaves the room with the letters begging him not to take them away. “These letters were Marianela’s, for Marianela, she didn’t want them, she didn’t take the opportunity to read them, and now they no longer belong to her. And now I don’t feel like letting her have them.” and he starts to tear the letters. VM struggles with Eman as he tries to tear up the letters.

Gretel is screaming at Oliver at how could he be there in the studio in his underwear! And Kristel weighs in against Oliver saying how could he try to take advantage of her like that — her own sister’s boyfriend as she slaps him. Poor bewildered Oliver can only swear at Gretel that things aren’t what they appear. But Gretel’s not having any of it, she’s already had a nightmare of a day and needed a hug and kiss from him and she find him all wrapped up with her sister?!?! “We were just taking photos!” and Oliver begs Kristel to tell Gretel how he was hired as a model while Kristel looks at him like he’s crazy. “But you aren’t any model Oliver, you’re a policeman and I needed help,” cries Gretel, “But you know what - go to hell I don’t want to see you as long as I live.” “Don’t leave!” as Oliver grabs her. “They’re paying me a bunch of money to do this. For you, believe me! Because I want to take you to the Costa Azul” explains Oliver. “And when I found you kissing with Lorena Fonseca - what? Were you also modeling? How much did she pay you?” Oliver grabs Doris and begs her to explain to Gretel about his modeling contract. Doris swears Oliver is telling the truth. “Of course, you brought him,” Gretel says to Kristel. “Why did you get close to my boyfriend Kristel?” “Oh - I was just trying to help because I know you love each other and have a lot of dreams.” answers Kristel innocently. “Don’t be stupid sister! The only thing you want is to hurt me. Well - you accomplished it, And you, Oliver, thanks a lot for cooperating with her to hurt me. I’m never going to forgive this. After today you are dead to me for betrayal and lying.” And she gives Oliver a good slap, pushes Kristel hard and leaves with Oliver running after her wearing the pink fuzzy wrapper. Kristel looks on and batts her eyelashes like the naughty little girl she is. Kristelinator mission accomplished!

El capitán is confronting Bernardo in his cell. “Every last person says you and Juana Felipa are criminals. The she stole everything from a certain Marianela RyD. And that you have become a despicable being without scruples.” Bernardo is doing very his best Igor impression. “They’re lying, they’re lying!” he declares. “I’m losing patience,” swears the captain, “tell me the truth! What have you been doing all these years to oblige Juana Felipa and how far are you able to go for her?”

Somehow VM has the letters back. “No, I’m keeping the letters. Get out of here” cries VM and she somehow manages to herd Emanuel out of her room. “I want my letters!” yells Emanuel. “Why do you want them?” “I told you” answers VM “I need to get them back to Marianela. And tell her I made a big mistake. She thought they were full of lies. That you were making a big joke of her that you didn’t love her. But that’s not true.” “That’s right,” says Emanuel, “it wasn’t like that. I forbid you. I forbid you to return my letters to Marianela” yells Emanuel. “Open the door!” VM anxiously wonders what to do. If she opens the door she knows that she would won’t be able to help but tell Emanuel the truth, that she is Marianela, and that she never stopped loving him for one second. Her hand is on the door knob....

Avances:
- Tell him (Emanuel) the truth Netty begs Marianela.
- She’s on her way yells Netty as she comes into the RyD mansion.
- Tio Maximo is there waiting with a gun for when Fedra dares to reenter the family home.

La Verdad Oculta EP118 03/03/2011 – Lies and reputations

* Instead of killing the hostages Adolfo shoots Dante’s gorillas then the whole band leaves by helicopter. In the meantime poor, shattered, devastated *Viewerville: and absolutely adorable* David is suffering and torturing himself at home. His mother comforts him and tries to ease his pain but he’s enraged: his innocent wife and child are in mortal danger! It isn’t fair, it isn’t fair!

* In the kitchen Ramona and Abelardo are discussing Bertha’s character: the maid doesn’t believe she would change ever, Abe decided to defend and trust her. They don’t notice she stands in the door and hears every word they say. Abelardo, the butler with a golden heart tries to ease Bertha’s guilt and she apologizes and hugs him.

* Juan José gives David the shoes, the diamonds and the photo he found in the warehouse. Something had to happen to the bad boys because it’s very unlikely they would’ve left something that important back. However, David thinks they’re useless now, because Adolfo committed bigger crimes than smuggling. And what about negotiating with him, asks JJ. First they have to find him, answers David.

* In the Ávila condo the police managed to open Adolfo’s safe at last. Lionheart and Ramón find the two rings, and they are glad that they have enough proofs against Adolfo. Then Leo reads one of the documents and his jaw drops. Qué barbaridad!

* In the casa Genovés gasping Limón and wise Abelardo confess to Caramelo that bad men did kidnap Gaby and Alejandra, but they promise her her tías will be back at home soon. In the study Yolanda confesses to Santiago that the last time when she told him about Marta she, well, didn’t tell the truth. She thought he was Mario, the man she loved so much and the good old jealousy was killing her. But now she has to tell the truth. Marta wasn’t a bad woman.

* Hottietecto shows up at the architect studio and learns from Mina, who’s worried to death, that Gabriela and Julieta were kidnapped, too. The two decide to visit JJ who must have some news. But what about that feud between Mr. Pumpkinhead and Mr. Ex-Rivera? Whatever happened, happened, says Mau, this situation is more important than their rivalry, and he wants to help JJ. After all, he’s a good man and Alejandra is his friend.

* In the study Faustiago can’t believe his ears. Really? She was a good woman? Would a good woman abandon her own son? Yolanda says Adolfo forced Marta to leave the boy because he didn’t want people to realize they produced a child together. Faustiago still feels horrible. Yolanda. Do you think Marta loved me once? Yolanda nods, yes, actually, she’s sure Marta loved him much. She loved to watch him playing on stage and she always told Yolanda he was the best man on Earth. But what about Mario and Adolfo? Mario was an intense love, but she knew they wouldn’t have any future together. As for Adolfo, Marta was young and she had no idea what kind of man he was. Is Yolanda lying again? To make him think better of his deceased wife? No, she can’t lie anymore. Marta was just a woman who was looking for love for a long time and when she finally found happiness on Santiago’s side… she was murdered.

* The two young architects arrive at the house of the depressed, brooding dragon and learn that he knows nothing about the lost princess. But there’s one thing Mina should know, Carlos has been kidnapped, too. He couldn’t sleep all night, he was thinking about Adolfo’s motivations. He most likely wants to negotiate with them, that’s why he took the women, but why the hell does he need Carlos, too? Mina says Carlos mentioned her about a seaside villa and JJ gets excited at last. He asks her to call Leonardo and tell him everything. *Viewerville: That’s it! The “use the damned telephone” gene is finally starts to evolve!* While Mina is talking on phone Mauricio hesitatingly tells Juan José he broke up with Elsa. It took him time to realize she didn’t love him and she couldn’t accept JJ wasn’t in love with her. JJ hardly hears his words and doesn’t really care about their so-called love triangle, but thanks to Mauricio for visiting and supporting him. Mina returns to the men and the three starts to speculate about the mysterious house. Mau says if it’s so far away Adolfo probably had to take a flight. No, JJ doesn’t thinks so, Dolphie doesn’t have permission to fly anymore. But… Geez! The bad boys must’ve used a helicopter! Garnica’s helicopter!

* At AFI Leonardo gets a phone call from David who tells him about the helicopter and the two Musketeers send him the photos of the vehicle by fax. Ramón, who notices how nervous his boss is tells him not to worry. They’ll find Julieta.

* In the garden of the Genovés villa Bertha confesses to Dora she would’ve preferred to be kidnapped than being free but unable to help and save the hostages. She was an idiot for not realizing in time what kind of man Adolfo was and she feels guilty for being alive while the people she loves are in danger. Dora comforts her.

* The helicopter arrives at the seaside wondervilla. *I. Want. That. House.* Sweating, grumpy Adolfo orders the ugliest goon to lock the hostages up. While nervous Édgar and Valentín are in the kitchen, Dolphie admits to Dante he will get rid of them. Does he want to kill the women and his son, too? Adolfo doesn’t answer. And… What about me? Adolfo stares at him silently and Dante’s blood freezes.

* Bertha’s self-torture is interrupted by flirty Chicles and friendly Caramelo who mentions once they and tía Yolanda were kidnapped, too.

* In the seaside house Dante, who suspects he’s in mortal danger, tries to get new friends, so he asks a cigar from the other underdogs, aka Psycho Eddie and Val. He needs Valentín to take him by helicopter to the high seas, where he may meet a ship that belongs to his American friends. But don’t say a word to Adolfo! The two goons are laughing at him not-so-secretly, but they calm him down, but don’t worry, patron, they’ll keep his secret. And where’s the map from Garnica safe? Map? Yes, the map with the location of the archeological goodies. Actually, Eddie keeps it in his wallet… but wait, it isn’t there anymore! Oops. After nervous Dante leaves them, Valentín tells Édgar Sevilla’s plan is stupid since the helicopter doesn’t have enough fuel. What should they do? The goons start to panic, they have to find out something and get the hell out of that rock.

* King Adolfo’s lunch is interrupted by Ugly Goon, who actually has conscience. He doesn’t like to treat young Carlos like that, after all, he’s Ávila’s son! Armed Adolfo takes crazy to a new level: threats, shouts, glasses, food and saliva fly around. You have to obey me! You have to! All right, boss, all right, all right.

* Ulises calls JJ and tells him he found a strange paper in her sofa which most likely was left there by that hypocrite Édgar. JJ, who’s all ears, asks him to bring it to the Genovés villa.

* Ugly and Loyal Goon asks tied, tired Carlos if he needs anything. Yes, set him free. No, he can’t do that, Adolfo will kill him if he betrays him. Moustache tries to convince him Adolfo is completely mad, he kidnapped his sisters and JJ’s wife! Yes, he has a sister, but it’s a long story. The two remember back the summers Carlos spent in the villa when he was a kid and Ugly Goon’s heart finally melts. He may help Carlos to escape, but what could he do? He can’t walk to the next village to ask for help, it’d take two days and Adolfo would kill the women. But Carlos’s old ATV is still there, he could use that. Carlos’s grateful, but he starts to worry about Ugly Goon. Oh, don’t worry for him, he’ll made up a good story and explain the situation to Adolfo. Speaking of Adolfo, he finds very suspicious the long conversation between Ugly and Carlos.

* The three ladies are locked up in one of the bedrooms. Julieta’s lost her nerve already, she screams nobody will find them there. Alejandra hugs her and tries to calm her down. They’ll be saved… or they’ll find a way to escape. In the meantime Gabriela realizes she acted like an idiot with David and she collapses, too. Mommy Ale leaves Juli and now comforts Gaby: when they arrive at home she and David will reconcile, please don’t torture herself. They have to stay calm because hysteria won’t help them any! Think about her baby, in a few months she’ll have a wonderful child, and that child will need a strong and vigorous mother.

* In the study the boys tries to find out what the paper Ulises gave them means. By the way, how does he know it belonged to Édgar? Because Psycho Eddie was the only person who visited him lately. While Ulises is brooding about his lack of social life and David is calling Leo, Juan Indiana Jones José realizes the numbers on the paper are coordinates.

* Eddie and Valentín accidentally overhear Adolfo’s conversation with one of his goons called Alejo. Dolphie promises 1000 pesos to Alejo for murdering Ugly Goon.

* Daddy Leonardo is interrogating the kids, the nasty one, who just cynically laughs at his attempts of investigations, and the nervous one, who tries to act like the good boy. Leo decides to take the evidences with himself. After he leaves, JJ drops a tantrum and David head is about to explode, too.

* Édgar tells Ugly Goon Alejo wants to kill him that night. Ugly grabs him and says Alejo is his buddy, he wouldn’t hurt him! All right, all right, think what you want.

* Leo calls David and tells him the coordinates on Eddie’s map locate a place in the state of Tabasco. Any idea what Adolfo would do there? Nothing. David tells the news to JJ who thinks maybe Bertha knows more about Adolfo’s businesses.

* Late in the evening the Psycho in the shining armor strangles Alejo and saves Ugly’s fat arse from being shot. Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship? Inside the house Ugly releases Carlos and tells him Val and Ed will help him escape on his ATV. On the beach our goons give Carlos a high five and wish him luck. The boy starts the old vehicle and rides away in the night. Viewerville: Who cares about William in a kayak when we have Carlos on an ATV? Come on, muñeco!*
