Papas #53 part 1

The girlfriend is saying, maybe on social media, how bad Uli is. Tino wants to know what’s wrong. He says nothing, he has a project to work on. He goes.

Bill wants to form a family with Aide. She mentions how hard it must have been to lose his wife and family. He was thrilled when Paulina called him about Emi. He didn’t know she was married at the time of their get together.

Cheno isn’t happy with Serena’s new look. She won’t let anyone disrespect her. She leaves to talk to Poncho. Cheno looks at his video. It looked like 8,000 loves.

Rudolf convinces Clara Luz that have to be together when they go before the judge or risk losing both kids. She agrees, but it will be pretend.

Nazario thinks the guy at the studio denounced him. He’s mad that Pipe loves Jo’s parents and misses them. He wants them to sing as they did before or their goes their ticket.

Uli is texting and calling Ivette, telling her he would never do that to her. She won’t answer but then he gets a text from Cindy. The screen has the mask from his sexual abuse. He wonders who,Cindy is.

Paulina is talking to a lawyer in Seattle. She will get her son to,sign the papers so she’ll handle the money. She gets a text from Tino and tells him the surgery is safe, he can talk to the doctors in Mexico City.

Tino has brought the kids home and Bill and Aide arrive and thank him, they were able to have alone time. Tino doesn’t look happy.

Serena is so proud of Poncho over the Olympic win. Chofis agrees, she gets a text from Uli, he needs to see her, but not where they can be overheard.

Melina tells Íker how nice the evening was. AsCirce leaves she thanks her for her help, and her relationship with Tino. Checo is at the door wanting to talk to her. She says they’ll talk as they walk. Íker wonders when Tino and Melina began their relationship. Before or after Aide and Bill? He feels getting Tino was her goal from the time they arrived. She says if he doesn’t like seeing them together he can go to a music school far away.

Checo apologizes for how he acted when he learned about Edith and she. He wants to be in her life, at her side, the best friend she could want. Circe mentions it’s close to the anniversary of his mom’s death. He needs to tell his dad and sister the truth so he can heal. He can never tell them, he’s lied too long.

Scarlet is talking about her followers with Gisela. She talks about changing her wardrobe
. Gisela thinks this is an idea she got from Melina. Scarlet wonders why she’s against Melina but is fine with Bill. Gisela says Melina is a manipulator, I’ll is a nice man. She thinks rice is going through a phase because she doesn’t have a nice man right now. Scarlet mentions all the men that were in Gisela’s life.

Cheno’s doing another video. Chofis comes in and laughs at him. Uli comes in and tells Chofis about the video with the girl that was posted.

Melina is ready to go away with Tino. Circe can watch Íker. Tino says that’s good as he wants to go to Mexico City to find out about the surgery.

Paulina is with the doctor she wants to do the surgery. He feels he’s not experienced in this surgery. It would be double the risk of doing it in the US. Why would she risk her son’s life. She will sign a form saying she won’t hold it against him if something goes wrong.

Uli tells Chofis about the mask appearing while texting Cindy. He mentions Guzman but also says Hernan was on his computer. She’s surprised the sexual assault didn’t hinder his sex life, they end up arguing. Then he’s apologizing to Ivette. She says the video is all over the internet. She says leave or I’ll call the police. She threatens to denounce him.

Scarlet is doing a video with the dog. She’s telling the dog her sister loves girls but love is love. She tells Gisela the message is for her too.

Tino tells Circe she’s in charge of Íker and the house. Read ingredients before cooking so you don’t poison Íker. He tells Íker he’s started the process to give him his last name.

Papas #53 part 2

I’ll talks to Emi about his relationship with his mom. Emi says it seems a little strange but he’s ok with it. Bill asks about him saying he’d take Bill’s last name. Emi prefers to keep Tino’s. Neither parent is his biological parent but they’ll always be his parents. Bill is good with that.

As Nazario grooms his face Melina is ready for them to sign the contract for the kids singing. Prisma says they have to check with Rudolf and Clara Luz because they’re Pipe’s parents. Nazario disagrees, he’s sure they’ll get custody
.
Rosario and Rudolf are talking to an official of family services. Rudolf was found innocent of Gibron’s death so there’s no reason he can’t regain custody.

Clara Luz tells Martin about the custody problem. Martins thinks it’s horrible. She mentions Rudolf was cleared of having anything to do with his death and then apologizes for mentioning him..She tells martin she believes in diversity and love is love. (Did she watch Scarlet’s video). He says they were friends!

Aide wants to talk to the surgeon too. Paulina says he has a busy schedule but Paulina checked and he’s an excellent surgeon. And Aide isn’t his mother, she is and she’ll be with Emi. Aide has no confidence in her. Paulina says but you have confidence in Bill and he’ll be there. Bill assures her he won’t leave his side.

Martin thinks Rudolf and Clara Luz are a great couple. She says no, they’re separated. Then she says no. Martin wants to do a musical with her.

Lauren’s and Circe are arguing. Lauren’s doesn’t understand why she suddenly likes girls. Circe says it’s one girl. Circe tells her she needs to respect her.

Bill is bringing Emi to the hospital for the tests. He gets a call that they have to close the restaurant, he has to go. He asks Paulina to have them change the date of the tests. She’s sure they’ll can’t. She’ll be right there, and not leave his side, it’s only the tests.

Gisela is complaining about Paulina, a mother that leaves her kids, then she starts on Melina. Circe comes in, looking for Uli. Aide wonders what’s wrong, Melina doesn’t believe her. I forgot to say that Lorena showed Circe the video of Ivette telling what Uli did.

Tino is with the band, the concert is sold out. Surprise, Melina is there, they have sex in what looks like the venue.

Paulina has a mostly unconscious Emi sign the form for her to control his fortune. She puts ink on his finger to put his print next to the signature. She tells him she now as access to Jason’s fortune and Emi will probably be crippled. She then happily signs the doctor’s form as he repeats how risky the surgery is. As they wheel Emi away Paulina assures the doctor she won’t hold him responsible. We see a couple of days before Paulina is talking to Melina. Melina doesn’t want money for the favor, she wants to be able to have Paulina owe her a favor. She’ll keep Tino and Aide away the day Paulina wants. She then texts Urbano. Meanwhile Paulina tells an inspector there was a lot of noise from the cafeteria. In present day Bill is asking the inspector who complained so he can go and apologize, it was probably the noise from the family party. All the inspector knows is the lady’s name was Paulina. Bill leaves Lila in charge and rushes ouAide and Gisela are watching the video. Gisela seems to blame poor parenting. Uli comes in and realizes they know.

MONTEVERDE #40, Part 1

Father Gabriel berated Carolina that she crossed the line. SHE is the one who did damage to the school. I believe he says she is the only one who has a motive! He leaves, incensed. Juanita commented to Carolina after; did she say she did it/knows who did it?

Oscar has a heart-to-heart talk with his son. He has invited Julieta to move into Franco’s old room. Franco is tormented but thanks his father for the offer with a huge hug.

Eva is cooking like a real homemaker but then burns herself on the stove. Nestor puts her hand under hot water and then runs to get some ointment.

Lucas shows up at Rosalia’s work. He calls himself an imbecile and tries to get back in her good graces. They have the same old discussion about Franco being his good friend after Rosalia mentions her father. “I love you” he says and as they kiss, Nestor bangs on the door and angrily enters, glaring at Lucas. Lucas defends himself and as the two puff out their respective chests, Nestor expresses his disgust to his daughter as he takes the medicine and leaves.

Padilla is brought by Juanita to meet Carolina in the church. She doesn’t have the money and they go back and forth negotiating in several scenes as she bargains for more time.

Angelina arrives at the restaurant and asks Manuel where her mother is. Seeing she is not there, she asks him for a bottle of cajeta, putting it on her finger, eagerly tasting it. Uh oh, Gloria walks in happy to see her but then comments on the cajeta. Enlightenment dawns and she immediately asks Angelina if she is pregnant! Angelina manages to deny it most vehemently and runs out as Gloris looks sadly after her.

Eva talks with Nestor about his confrontation with Rosalia and Lucas. He talks about Rosalia as though he is a proud father, and Eva is not oblivious, commenting on it to Nestor who shakes his head darkly.

Now we’re talking!! In what appears to be a dressing room (doubling as a rest room), we see Juan David wearing a black, sequined cowboy hat, black mask, plaid shirt, neckerchief and sunglasses. Hugo comes in and behind the closed door we hear women in the audience, screaming in anticipation. Juan David practices a few moves as Hugo encourages him, showing him a few quick moves of his own. The men laugh and Juan David is ready. Hugo opens the door unleashing the bull!

Padilla won’t scale the gate. Bad memories of Oscar and the gun pointed at his head are no doubt the culprits! Carolina shakes her head, exasperated. Padilla calls Carlos as Carolina makes him put the call on speaker. He lies and tells Carlos that Carolina and Andres aren’t there! Carolina then makes him hand over his cell. She then pats him down to make sure he isn’t carrying anything else. Oh no, Oscar drives up and angrily gets out asking what the significance of this is.

Rosalia tells Lucia she has given Lucas a second chance.

MONTEVERDE #40, Part 2

Oscar tells Carolina the man threatened Moises. “What” she says? “Antonio Flores” introduces himself “mucho gusto” to Oscar who simply glares harder. Oscar takes Carolina aside but he is distracted by the thought of her kisses. Carolina leads Antonio off.

RATS! We don’t see any of the onstage performance (we were cheated I grouse). We next see a bare-chested Juan David wearing only leopard print boxers leaning heavily on the dressing room door! Women are still screaming. Hugo moves a chest under the window; Juan David then throws his clothes out the window, jumping out after them.

Juan David arrives home as Angelina is licking her fingers with cajeta. He hides his costume bag in a kitchen cabinet (bad idea I murmur!). He comments on the cajeta and she explains she went to Manue’s but right after she got it she ran into her mother who immediately suspected she is pregnant. She assures Juan David she denied it. She then tells Juan David she loves him. He takes off his shirt and seeing his back she accuses him of being with another woman. Juan David denies, denies, denies, telling her the only woman he loves is her. She apologizes, blaming it on the pregnancy. They make up and kiss “te amo” she notes.

Carolina calls her sister. All is well, don’t worry. She says she is still there (as is Padilla) and explains about the money (although I’m still rather in the dark; I think she said she has dos Semanas but where she intends to get it from is a mystery to me) She needs to keep Padilla there so she can keep an eye on him.

A distraught Juanita tells Hugo what happened. She is upset with him but I can’t say why.

Good morning a happy Lucas greets Franco. He explains he and Rosalia have reconciled and Franco is happy.

Oscar drops the boys off the next morning; Carolina seems to deflect his questions. I think he laments about the damage to the school and tries to reassure her the school will be fixed.

In a scene I was lost in, Hugo berates a man….

Nestor returns to Rosalia’s for some papers. She stops him and tries to talk to him about Lucas. He doesn’t want to hear it although she says Lucas is a good man. He doesn’t agree and bids her goodbye.

Oscar and Franco meet on horseback and talk about Julieta moving in. Franco gives him a hard time about having a pregnant woman in his house. It’s my grandchild Oscar states, smilingly.

Crud. Angelina and Juan David are talking about the pregnancy with Father Gabriel when Gloria comes in, overhearing. Angelina has to tell the truth; she is going to be an abuela! She is so happy for her daughter and turns with a smile to the good padre too. He asks if she has anything to say to Juan David. She turns and gives him a quick congrats. Naturally, she wants the baby to be named “Gloria” if it’s a girl and for it to be named after her husband if a boy. The father’s expressions made me laugh out loud, too funny!

MONTEVERDE #40, Part 3

Padilla is having breakfast at Manuel’s and Mr. Flores is making new friends, including Trinidad as he grimaces to Juanita…

Nestor and Eva kiss goodbye. She howls (is he going to work among the wolves??) 😊

Diana comes into the restaurant asking Juanita about Hugo. Juanita tells her she is in love with Hugo. Hugo, coming out of the kitchen hears and is delighted. He asks her if it is true and she says yes. Diana asks if Juanita is the woman of his heart. Yes! Diana leaves and Hugo smiles. Then Juanita tells him they can’t be together!

Franco explains to Julieta that she is invited to live at Oscar’s. She doesn’t seem thrilled.

A thrilled Gloria tells Manuel that Angelina is pregnant. He is so happy for her. They hug as she rolls her eyes smiling.

Moises greets Julieta as Franco leads her into Oscar’s; she pinches his cheek as he yells “no” and backs off. He does not like the situation!!

Padilla is at the Inn talking with Trinidad; she smiles enchanted and he rolls his eyes.

Oh no, he goes upstairs and hears Andres calling Carolina “mama”. He immediately puts two and two together as Carolina stares, wild eyed!

While I loved Juan David’s “getup”, I was so disappointed we didn’t get to see the show! Next time. Surely.

"She tells him she now as access to Jason’s fortune and Emi will probably be crippled". She is as bad as an animal who eats their young. How could she be so cruel and vicious about her own son. It was truly sickening to watch. She should trade her evil eye necklace for a skull and crossbones.

"Uli tells Chofis about the mask appearing while texting Cindy. He mentions Guzman but also says Hernan was on his computer. She’s surprised the sexual assault didn’t hinder his sex life"...as am I. This storyline is just "off" to me. Uli doesn't seem to be someone who would be so callous.

Melina tightening her web on Tino was also depressing.

You did a great job with this Liz. I will wait to comment on the rest until your last recap is up. Thank you!

I’m finally getting caught up. Episode 20 will be later.

Domenica Montero episodios 17-20 part 1

These will be briefer recaps and somewhat lumped together in themes, and not everything is in chronological order - this binge watch has taken it out of me, but finally I’ve caught up!

At the beginning of episode 17, we resume with Luis and Domenica locking lips. The next thing we see, he’s working on the buttons of her top. I’m thinking, wow, after a few kisses this is what you expect, Luis Fernando? Bit audacious there, aren’t you? Well, Domenica is more gracious than I would be, she just stops him and shakes her head. He accepts this.

They talk about what “this” is, and hash out their concerns, like maybe this is, whatever, rebound, loneliness, whatever? (I know that there’s a trend among widowers to remarry very fast - it’s a thing, but it is not because of lack of love for the deceased wife. A google search will explain more.) Domenica and Luis decide to see where it goes.

I have three episodes swirling in my head at the same time, so I’m going to condense things and go back and forth. I suspect I’ll miss things, forgive me!

* Tia is frantic to discourage Domenica’s relationship with Luis. She feels that Kiara is so emotionally fragile, that she must not be disappointed regarding this hoped-for romance with Luis. She even appeals to Godfather to try to talk Domenica out of seeing Luis, in order to give Kiara a shot at him. Godfather of course is appalled at such a thing. She tells him that Kiara ingested a bunch of pills when things went south with an American boyfriend, and Tia is going to watch Kiara like a hawk so it never happens again.

* There’s a lot of back and forth about planting those beans in the land on the north. It seems like the future of Luis’s hacienda depends on that crop, which will mature fast so the proceeds from the sale can fund more things to help the hacienda grow. Everything hinges on that crop being a success.

* The women’s center is being arranged, with Cute Lawyer handling all the details of the sale, etc. The secretary of Cosme (presidente municipal) is related to the guy selling the house to Cute Lawyer, so she is introduced to him at Cosme’s office. They definitely are aware of each other. At some point the misunderstanding is cleared up and she doesn’t think Cute Lawyer is Domenica’s novio.

* The time comes when Kiara has to find out that Domenica and Luis are an item. She appears to take it very well, even says that she wouldn’t let a man interfere with her relationship with her family. She seems cool as a cucumber, but the minute she is alone with Domenica, she slaps her and screeches about the “promise” that Domenica made to not get in the way of any hypothetical romance Kiara had with Luis. The whole thing is nuts; the promise only applied IF Luis was interested in Kiara, and he never was. Tia and Kiara both act like it was some vow to be indefinitely hands-off of Luis, as if he is was some trophy. Anyway, Domenica says it wasn’t like that, and defends herself, but everyone has an opinion, and it’s a bit tiresome.


 

Domenica episodes 17-19, part 2

* I’m a bit confused about what appears to be Prudencio’s complicated love life. It appears Nicolesa (Nana) was his novia back in the day and they both still seem sweet on each other. At the same time, Prudencio has some sort of thing going on for Mercedes, and we see subtle reactions and expressions from Mercedes which suggest she is not oblivious of him either. There’s one scene where he is comforting her late at night when he finds her sitting pensively in the kitchen in her jammies. Granddaughter (Adelaida?or something?) walks in on them and later Mercedes feels she needs to “explain” why she was hugging Prudencio. Granddaughter has a bit of a blunt tone to her, she says something to the effect that there’s nothing odd about hugging someone you’ve known a long time, unless you think it’s shameful to hug a “peon.” Granddaughter goes on to say that Prudencio always taught her about maintaining the separation of social clases (peon vs patron), and besides, lest Mercedes worry that Prudencio would ever misinterpret the meaning of any hugs, he only loved one other woman besides his late wife, so (I interpret) she believes that his heart is not free.

* Domenica gives the title to the house bought in the center of town to Kiara, as a form of patrimony and to compensate for being scammed by Max too. Kiara is delighted and accepts with a hug. It was decided earlier that Tia and Kiara can move to the women’s center and make it their home, they will receive some sort of salary, and Kiara and Tia will not be at the hacienda anymore, which suits Tia. Tia craves some independence, but also thinks Kiara is fragile and needs to keep her distance. Them staying in-town works for everyone; Domenica doesn’t want her family to be too far away.

* The lawyer friend of Luis discovers an old photo and a letter fall out of a book when he is browsing in Luis’s library. He confronts Mercedes about it; he wants to know if Luis knows that he has a half sibling.

Luis interrupts them and sees the photo - it is the aforementioned “Carmen,” great with child. Luis comments that he didn’t know she married and had a kid, it he wishes her well, because he remembers her from when he was young and always got along with her. Mercedes haltingly says that Carmen never married and this all happened around the time that Luis went to the USA to study. After Luis is gone, Mercedes admits that yes, there’s a kid, but Luis doesn’t know, and she begs lawyer friend not to tell. He promises.

* There’s a few brief scenes which hint that Godfather might be sweet on Tia, and Domenica notes this too.

* Kiara admits to Generó that her supposed “crisis” where she rode off on a horse and scared everyone, as well as her supposed suicide attempt over the American ex novio, were just acts to manipulate her way out of something.

* There are a few more scenes definitely hinting that presidente municipal’s secretary Blanca, I think her name is, and Cute Lawyer are destined for each other. He notices her, but at the same time, still pines for Kiara.

* Nieves asks Kiara to advise her on fashion (since she has some clothing money), Kiara says she is a woman of fashion, and can’t help with pueblo garb.
 

Domenica eps 17-19 part 3

* Kiara and Generó are both very upset about Domenica and Luis being together, but for different reasons. Right after Kiara first found out about them, she tried to convince Domenica that Luis wasn’t just being polite with her (Kiara), that he was definitely flirting, and that Kiara has been around the block enough to recognize when a guy is interested. She’s hoping to undermine Domenica’s somewhat fragile faith in anything masculine, but ultimately Domenica chooses to trust Luis. Generó, however, manipulates things and prepares a bombshell - the actual true fact that Luis is currently planning on growing a crop on disputed land, and hasn’t told her. Domenica looks very shaken by this at the end of episode 17.

* During the start of episode 18, Domenica talks with Luis and actually listens to what he has to say - he’s willing to make a deal with her, he’s not doing this in bad faith. In the end he agrees to pay her to rent half of the north side of the laguna, and she accepts. She’s trying so hard to be trusting.

* Roque is tasked to lead Luis out on some wild goose chase out in the boonies, so that Generó can pick him off with his rifle. Roque has a last minute change of heart because Luis is such a great, generous guy. At the last minute Roque tries to protect Luis from a sniper bullet, ends up dangling off the edge of a cliff, and Luis has to save him.

Turns out Roque has a wife and daughter who left, he doesn’t know where they are, but he misses them. Generó, who visits Roque in the middle of the night later, is annoyed with him for ruining his plot to kill Luis. Roque is no longer onboard with Generó, so Generó accepts this but threatens Roque’s wife and daughter if Roque blabs. (Generó claims he knows where the wife and daughter are.)

* It appears the corrupt three (Cosme, Gabriel, and I think Generó knows about this) are conspiring to prevent Luis from buying supplies from nearby providers. Also, I get a vibe that they are planning on spoiling, poisoning, or somehow sabotaging Luis’s crop. I am getting a little fuzzy on this, but I think Cosme and Gabriel want to mess with Domenica’s hacienda too, but Generó won’t be in on that.

* Since Kiara is moving to town, she talks to Generó about him visiting her there so they can continue their trysts. He doesn’t want to, too many gossips in town. He says she’s not worth the bother. They go back and forth and then it’s suggested that they take advantage of her being with him now, so they start to get busy. Nieves at this moment walks in on them (I think he left the door open), and she says his name awkwardly. Both Kiara and Generó are busted, them hooking up is not something they want getting out - so Generó immediately gets our his belt to whip Nieves in another room while Kiara, to her credit, cringes and yells at him to stop. Of course he doesn’t. Nieves is told not to blab about what she saw.

* Nieves wears a long sleeve shirt to hide the welt marks, and insists that she had some sort of accident. Pedro knows it was Generó and loses it to the point that he has a gun to Gerero’s temple and wants to shoot. Prudencio is able to talk him out of it, primarily by saying that it would hurt Mercedes too much, but also appealing to him to not ruin his own life.

* Pedro is expressing more bitterness and says that maybe he’s a “bad seed” like the parents that abandoned him. He is much more affected that he appeared to be in previous episodes - he says he doesn’t feel whole or something like that. Prudencio noted that Pedro can let his anger get away from him, and it stems from resentment boiling up to the surface over all the abuse and bad treatment he got as a child. This explains why he lost control with Generó.
 

Domenica eps 17-19 part 4

* It looks like Adelaida (? Prudencio’s granddaughter) and Nieves are in competition for Pedro - Pedro gives Adelaida a piece of paper with her name on it, he says,“the second name I learned to write, after my own.” She complains that he spelled it wrong and the letters look bad; he just walks off. But later, when confronting Nieves, Adelaida shows the paper and says Pedro prefers her, look what he wrote! Nieves is getting more and more depressed.

* Mercedes is really hell-bent against Domenica and has multiple conflicts with Luis about it. He always backs up Domenica. Mercedes is uncharacteristically hostile towards Domenica. Domenica tries to visit her to smooth things over, but to no avail. Merecedes finally declares that she won’t sign the contract written up for Luis to rent the land (which is already his land as far as he is concerned). She says it’s ridiculous to rent his own land. As she’s a co-owner, without her signature the deal can’t go through. Yes, she knows the hacienda will fail if they can’t get that crop in. She’s even reminded that Pedro’s investment will be lost - she still won’t budge. Pedro, when he hears about it, decides not to sign the contract either - if Mercedes doesn’t want it, neither does he! Because, he explains to Luis and lawyer friend, I really am grateful to you two guys, but I’d die for Mercedes.

* Mercedes and Adelaida are in town and are treated really bad by the townspeople. In part because Gossip lady (wife of Gabriel) is insinuating that Adelaida is a tramp, and also, they think Mercedes and her whole family are bad because Luis had the audacity to want her son Osvaldo put in jail for trying to knife someone, and also for punching Gabriel for his cruel song about Domenica. This further sours Mercedes against staying there, she just wants Luis to sell the hacienda and go.

* There’s a scene where Gabriel and his wife talk about their past; I think when they first married that she had the money and he didn’t, and it’s her money that started everything for them.

* There’s some thing where Kiara is “covering” for Nieves, who doesn’t want anyone to know that Generó whipped her. Kiara will back her up, if Nieves does some favors. One of those is to work at Kiara’s house in town a few times a week (I think?). Nieves looks too scared to refuse.

* Lawyer friend of Luis has a contact in the jewelry business and they find out they can probably track down the owner of that wedding ring found at the site of where SIL was hit and lost Luis’s and Paula’s baby. Every gem has a serial number etched into it. They can track down the store who sold the ring, and hopefully the buyer. It sounds like it’ll take a little while to do all of that. Meanwhile, around this time, Kiara has another opportunity to be along in Luis’s office and frantically looks for the ring so she can steal it. She is not successful; Luis walks in on her holding what I think is a baby rattle for his unborn child; he looks puzzled at why she would have it.
 

Domenica 17-19 part 5 of 5

* We finally get a fuller picture of what happened to Pedro and how he ended up where he did. Mercedes gave Eugenio, unfaithful husband, an ultimatum, and he accepted it. She didn’t want anything to do with his other baby. So, he pawned the kid off on Prudencio, who did as he was told, because he knew he’d do better for the kid than who knows who else. I deduce that Prudencio was given money for the kid’s upkeep; Prudencio in turn trusted Pedro in the care of a cook who he thought was “good people” but he was wrong. She gave no attention or love to Pedro, he only got attention when he was fed (which explains his affinity for eating and the kitchen). The cook pocketed the money meant to support Pedro, so he didn’t live comfortably. Then Eugenio died and Prudencio supported him on his own - his own salary went to take care of Pedro. There wasn’t always enough, and Pedro didn’t have good clothes or schooling, but Prudencio was always there with love and advice.

Prudencio is telling Nana (Nicolesa) all this, and ends by saying that Pedro doesn’t know he’s the son of Eugenio and Luis’s half brother. At just this moment, Domenica walks in and hears - and says, “What? Pedro is Luis’s brother?

And that’s where episode 19 ends.
 

Papas #53 part 3

Paulina is telling her unconscious Emi that he’ll be living with her forever. As a nurse comes in she Paulina suddenly is blessing Emi as they wheel him away-for surgery. Bill comes racing in and the nurse tells him he can’t see Emi, he’s in surgery. Bill says no, he didn’t give permission! The surgery is supposed to be in the US.

After a little love talk and kissing(after the deed)Tino needs his phone. A band person comes in, Tino is needed. Elian will look for his phone, she finds it where she hid it.

Aide wonders how Uli could have done this. Gisela blames Ivette. Uli says he’ll face the consequences.

Bill is directed to the doctor, who tells him it’s risky surgery. Bill wants to stop the surgery, what’s the hurry. Paulina walks over and says Bill has no authority over Emi, do the surgery.

Uli is upset that Aide is blaming him. Circe says they’re a different generation. Uli is going to go on the internet and explain to everyone about it. Circe says she’ll help him and she knows just the person to help them.

Melina is enjoying watching Ivette denounce Uli. She calls Aide to offer her help. Aide says no, she wants to talk to Tino. She asks that Melina have him call her.

Scarlet is talking to Gisela. She doesn’t like to think of her brother doing the video. Gisela blames the girl. Scarlet asks if she would feel the same if it were she or Circe.

Bill is wondering what Paulina’s interest is in all this. What does she have to gain. She wasn’t going to wait till all of them agreed, she wants her son to walk and run. The doctor is listening and cancels the surgery. Bill still wants to know what Paulina has to gain in this.

Circe asks Edith to help them. She usually works with victims. Uli tries to show them Cindy’s profile but it was erased. He thinks Guzman is behind this.

Rudolf joins them to tell the, he was cleared of Gibron’s death. He apologized for bringing it up as he knows Martin and he were lovers. When Martin tries to tell him otherwise Clara Luz stops him and says they were all close.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Thank you, Diana.

The good father tells Carolina that even if she didn't destroy the school with her own hands, she could have had someone else do it for her. As he looks accusingly at Juanita, she tells him not to think that she had anything to do with it. The good priest says that he will believe Carolina for now but if he finds out that she is lying, he will go straight to Oscar and tell him the truth. After he leaves, Carolina admits to Juanita that she is confused. Only she and Juanita know about her situation. Juanita tells her that Hugo knows, too. She told him what a shame it was going to be when the school was finished because then Carolina would have to tell the truth about everything. Juanita thinks he would be capable of doing something like that but not to that degree of damage. Carolina tells her to ask Hugo if he did it.

Franco doesn't want Julieta to have any false expectations if she moves in with Oscar. Oscar assures him that will not happen and that she will only be staying there until she is able leave for Peru.. Franco is afraid of what Lucía will think; that he is bending over backward for Julieta. Oscar says he can tell Lucía that he had nothing to do with the decision. Franco still wants to think it over.

Néstor puts Eva's hand under the faucet to treat it with cold water. (Uh, better remove the tortillas from the comal before they burn, too!) He tells her to put some ice on her burn , too.

Lucas and Rosalía basically agree to disagree and are back together. Néstor cannot believe that Rosalía would be with a guy like Lucas just for a few kisses.

Carolina tells Padilla that she cannot come up with the 30,000 pesos ($1, 630) for now but she is selling a house in Mexico City and can give him 50,000 ($2,786) pesos in two weeks. She has an interested buyer but selling a house takes time to get through all of the paper work.

Gloria is surprised to see Angelina eating the cajeta because she has always hated it just like her. Gloria informs her that the only time shat she herself liked cajeta was when she was . . . pregnant.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Carolina and Juanita talks Padilla into staying for two more weeks for 50,000 pesos. He doesn't know if she is being honest. She says to take her word just as he told her to do. She is sure that what she is offering hi is more that what Carlos is. They end up shaking on the deal.

Néstor tells Eva that Lucas isn't good enough for his daughter. He is only a ranch hand. She is intelligent, professional. She deserves a man at her level.

Lucía tells Rosalía how being an economist is no longer of interest to her since she came to Monteverde and was able to experience a much calmer life as compared to Mexico City where it is so stressful.

Carolina says goodbye to Oscar and tells him to dream about her. He hopes she dreams about him. too.

Juan David is a real success. He cannot dance any more because he has used up all of his material. Anyway, he has to pick up cajeta for Angelina on the way home. They have to escape through the window so the women do not strip him.

Angelina tells Juan David that her mother suspects she is pregnant but she denied it.

Angelina sees scratches on Juan David's back. He explains he was carrying a big bag and tripped. He got scratched from some tree branches that were on the ground. He tells her she can always ask Hugo.

Celeste wonders how Carolina is planning on paying Padilla. Carolina says she has two weeks to come up with something. She has it all under control for now.
No matter what Celeste says, leaving town would not have been easier since they had no where to go and no money. Carolina will let Celeste know what happens. Celeste concludes that Carolina always ends up doing what she wants anyway.

Juanita blames Hugo for the destruction at the school since he was the only one who knew what impact its finished state would have on Carolina. Hugo says it wasn't him. He only asked Manzanita to do something to delay the opening of the school. He never thought he would do something so crazy. Juanita says he should have consulted with her first because now the good father suspects Carolina. Hugo asks if she is being so nasty to him because of the condition of the school or because she saw Diana kiss him. She tells him she could not care less what he does with that woman. He insists on telling her that he had nothing to do with Diana kissing him. As she turns her back on him, he adds that he is going to talk to Manzanita to see what happened. She turns around and tells him to do whatever he has to.

Franco tells Lucas to touch his hands so he can get some of his good luck for his own dealing with Lucía.

Carolina tells Oscar that whatever she had to talk to him about yesterday must have not been so important because she cannot remember what it was.

Hugo goes to see Manzanita who reminds him he still hasn't paid for the "little job" he asked him to do. Hugo says that was no little job. He destroyed the school. He never asked him to destroy the plumbing or anything like that. Manzanita defends himself. He doesn't think that Hugo was very exact in the orders he gave him. Lucas informs him none of that matters now. Oscar is gong to hire men to repair it all and he expects that Manzanita is going to lend them a hand. Manzanita still wants his money for the original job. Hugo says he will not see one cent.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

Néstor has to go to Alamos for an interview at the municipal offices. They are looking for a veterinarian. She is happy he will not have to move. So, is her. She wishes him good luck. She wants to talk about Lucas and explain. He tells her she owes him no explanations. She is a grown woman who can make her own decisions. He simply doesn't like him. She deserves somebody better. Lucas is insipid. She needs to think about it and not be a conformist.

Franco will move Julieta in o Oscar's house so they can talk and he can make sure she is not confused about what is happening.

Juanita talks up Padilla about being an author and soon she, Trinidad and Manuel are asking him to organize some cultural events in town like a writing workshop!!! He has to agree.

Eva wishes Néstor good luck on his interview.

Juanita tells Hugo she cannot be with him right now because she is still recovering form a previous disappointment. They hurt her a lot. If he really loves her, he will have to wait until she heals.

Julieta is not excited about moving to Oscar's because Franco will be staying in his own house and makes it clear that her moving in with his father changes nothing between them. He can be excited about the baby and not be with her.
That is over. She apologizes for misinterpreting things.
 

Papas #53 part 4

Bill still wonders what she’s up to. He’s going to share this with Aide and Tino and denounce her. She will take him down as her accomplice.

Edith is again telling Circe she works with victims. Uli can be in big trouble. Gisela comes in with her remarks to Edith. Edith leaves and Circe says Edith was here because she’s an expert on the computer and could help Uli.

Scarlet wants to help Uli. She talks about his previous abuse. He doesn’t want her to meddle. She tells him his parents will never leave him alone.

Gisela wants to know why Circe likes girls. Then she starts on Uli. Circe tells her he was sexually abused, obviously she didn’t know. She hugs Circe. And asks for patience

Tino feels bad that he left Melina alone while playing with the band. She’s fine, she wants to support him. She found his phone. Aide called, about Emi. The studies were cancelled. Tino is ready to call her when Melina shows him the video of Ivette denouncing Uli. Tino tries calling him as Melina says he has to face the consequences of his irresponsible actions.

Bill tells Wmi about the surgery being cancelled. Emi was nervous too, until they put him under. Then he didn’t remember anything. He asks for Paulina, Bill tells him Paulina went to the US. She’ll be back.

Rudolf is listening to the music. He loves it. Martin says he loved the band Rudolf was in. Rudolf and Clara Luz talk about the custody. They’ll be living with Prisma and Nazario again. They’re ready to leave but Martin wants to talk to Clara Luz. Rudolf leaves. Martin wonders why she didn’t tell Rudolf he’s not gay. Clara Luz needs to go.

Tino shows up at Aide’s. He’ll go back to the band tomorrow. He’s worried about the consequences of Uli’s actions. Aide also worries about why their son is recording sexual encounters. Tino feels it’s strange after the abuse he suffered.

Edith and Circe are talking. Melina comes in. She is pleases to see Edith. She had some business but will be staying with a friend. Edith tells Circe they’ll have the evening to themselves. Circe suggests a movie but Esith has other plans. Circe says a kiss will be fine.

Serena and
Cheno are discussing the likes they’re getting. Chofis tells them she’ll be working at the cafeteria. Cheno thinks she’ll give up school for money, as he looks at Checo. Checo mentions the anniversary of their mother’s death. Serena suggests doing something in her memory. A small gathering.

Edith’s kiss confirmed to Circe that she doesn’t like woman.

Melina is with Bill. He wonders what she wants. The feelings they have for their children is very strong. They have to break this bond. Meanwhile Tino and Aide are talking about the job of raising your children from the time they are born. Aide tells Tino Scarlet is lost without a male figure in the home. I think she said when Facundo gets out of jail he doesn’t want to see Scarlet.

A man is talking about losing the love of his life. Life is so unjust, he wants to hug her. He holds a picture of Luchita.

My remote’s pause button has quit working. So I went back and forth a lot as I usually pause after each scene to write it up. It was giving me trouble for a couple of weeks, having to try several times sometimes. I apologize and will try to get a new one soon. But I can’t today

Diana, I, too, was disappointed that we never got so see the show. That was a big mistake. I can see Juan David's costume being easily discovered and him never doing another performance again.Not good. Anyway, I loved the "welcome" Moisés gave Julieta. Yes, it was another great episode.

Jarifa, thank you for your sensational summary that not only captured everything in flawless fashion, but also revealed the surprising secret that it was Hugo who requested the school be "modified". That was a shock although the fact he never intended things to go as far as they did was not. Manzanita took things to a whole nother lower level but the truth that Hugo gave the order portends poorly.

"Oscar says he can tell Lucía that he had nothing to do with the decision" is all well and good but thus far (I believe) Lucia has been told nothing! Now that Julieta is already moved in, is Lucia going to walk into the house and have another terrible shock?? Yes, I also loved Moises far from welcoming attitude toward Julieta!

"Carolina tells Oscar that whatever she had to talk to him about yesterday must have not been so important because she cannot remember what it was". Really Carolina?? You owe an extortionist who now has the information to ruin your life yet you still keep quiet not letting the man you love what is transpiring? Beanie time.

I can only think (and hope) that Juan David's new professional act hasn't been shown yet because some of the denizens (in some crazy mishap) end up at a future show. This is far too much of sparkling jewel not to be shown!

Melina's eyes lit with hatred and smug satisfaction when she told Tino about Uli's video. I apologize for brining this up yet again but I can't understand why Uli did what he did, completely uncharacteristic and cruel. "Aide also worries about why their son is recording sexual encounters. Papas 54 part 1

Tino and Bill are arguing over who is the true dad of Emi, biological, or blood vs. Rino who has raised him.

A few nights before Melina is telling. I’ll he doesn’t have all of Aide, she’s still attached to Tino. He disagrees. She asks if he knows of the problem with Uli. He doesn’t. Melina says she needs to take Aide and her children far away from Tino. He doesn’t think she’ll leave, Melina tells him to use his powers of persuasion. She’ll tell him about the details of Uli, since it was her idea.

Tino and Aide are talking about the kids. They’re worried about Uli, but also Circe as she’s so impulsive. Scarlet and Emi are worried about their older siblings. They need for the kids to know they’re not alone, they’re there for them.They wonder why everything was called off with Emi. Although they were supposed to talk to the surgeon before anything was done, and they didn’t. They also think it’s strange that Paulina went to the US when Emi was still in the hospital. But they both hope she doesn’t return.

Circe apologizes to Edith. She was very vulnerable after her divorce, but was never sexually attracted to Edith. Edith tells her she needs to get help with her confusion before she hurts more people. Circe hopes someday they can be friends.

Tino goes to talk to Uli. Emi is there and Tino wonders why everything was canceled. Emi has no idea, he was nervous but when he woke up nothing was done and Paulina wasn’t there. He’s going to ask her when she comes back. Tino will be with right with him next time. Uli comes in so Emi leaves. Tino tells Uli he’ll be by his side through this. He hopes Uli will confide in him.

The whole family is planning the tribute for Luchita. Checo gets up and leaves. Serena and Cheno start arguing about their social media stuff.

Tino tells Uli he doesn’t understand why he recorded the sex, but Uli’s an adult and will have to suffer the consequences. He suggests Uli come with him for a few days to get away from everything. He’ll see about finding a lawyer.

Gisela is talking to Scarlet about her social media. She mentions that her dad was a famous influencer. Scarlet just nods. Gisela suggests a girls night out with them and Circe, just the three of them.

Melina meets Nazario. She tells him he has to do exactly what she says so they’ll suspect El Chacal.

Circe tells Tino that when she broke up with Edith, Edith told her her parents was too hovering and that’s why she’s immature. Rino tells her she’ll always have her siblings and her parents. They’re there to help her. She goes upstairs and Melina comes in. She’s got everything arranged to spend the weekend with him and the band. It sounded like he doesn’t want to leave Circe alone and they can’t expect Íker to take care of her. Melina will take care of it.

Cheno tells Tino about the tribute to Luchita. Tino,suggests they gather the group together to sing a song in her memory.

Chofis defends Uli against some of his schoolmates. He tells her he feels like everyone is looking at him, the same way he felt when he was abused. Then three guys stop and seem to think it’s macho. Chofis sends them on their way. Then a lady comes up, she needs to see him.

Bill asks Lila to,sing again with her siblings. She doesn’t want to. Bill figures out it’s her parents she doesn’t want to see not her siblings. She agrees as Paulina breezes in, saying she says the same thing, she doesn’t want to go to her house.

Cheno comes in to Maximax, but Serena says he just missed Aide. He tries to sell his video fame to Melina. She wants quality. He flexes and says this is quality. She mentions his assessment of her recovery and said he didn’t show much empathy.

Uli is being suspended from school. He argues that he didn’t do,anything wrong, but the decision was made by all the faculty. Uli will prove

Bill wonders why Paulina left. She goes to Lila and offers to pay for her studies. Lila wonders how she has money when she couldn’t pay for Emi’s. She says he needed specialized classes.

So now we know why Prudencio always loomed sheepish whenever the topic of Pedro arose.
I will add that we always had a huge garden at the farm , and that field actually had bean plants,. They looked like the string bean plants we grew , but maybe they were some other type of beans. Susan

Emi tells Scarlet he’ll be out of the chair and walking soon. He wonders why Scarlet looks sad. She says ever since her parents separated she’s been thinking about Facundo. Emi mentions that she doesn’t want to,see him in jail.

Lila runs into Facundo on the street. She didn’t know he’s was out of jail. She tells him her parents are divorced. He didn’t know that.
Aide and Clara Luz are talking. Aide says Tino is a great Papa.Clara Luz mentions Bill. Aide really likes him. Lara Luz wonders about Martin. She doesn’t want to hurt Rudolf or risk,their chance with Pipe. They’re going to the tribute to Lichita. Clara Luz says Lichita didn’t want to leave her kids. Aide said it will be a year. They both think back to a memory from almost a year earlier. Lichita is getting ready to leave work. Aide wonders if she’s looking for another job. No, she has something personal to attend to. Then Lara Luz sees her in the hall. She wonders if she’s looking has a date, she’s pretty dressed up. Back today, they realize they’ll never know what was going on but they sure do miss her.

Serena is correcting heno’s table setting. He says he’s a lover of the home. Then he talks about becoming an influencer, as he flexes his muscles. Serena mentions the tribute. He doesn’t know if she was dating anyone. No one came to the funeral. He remembers a phone conversation he had. He asked about a boyfriend and wanted to meet him. She didn’t want people at work to know. He asked if she’d seen Checo, she hadn’t. She walked into the jail. Uli shows up to see Chofis. He wants to talk to her alone.

Lila shows up at the house at the same time as Bill, Emi and Scarlet. The fuys go,around to the garden and Lila asks Scarlet about her Papa, who Scarlet says is still in jail.

Facundo is delivering food to a woman. She says he looks like a famous influencer, Facundo. He thinks back to the jail and kissing Lichita.

Lila tells Scarlet it’s normal to think of your Papa. Then she tells her he left jail a year ago and her parents knew and are lying to her.

Bill is telling Emi the surgery is very risky, he could end up a lot worse. Emi said Paulina said it was safe. He’d rather die than remain in the wheelchair. Tino hears the last and goes out asking Bill what he said.

Gisela turns up at the cafeteria. She was shopping. She tells Circe she and Scarlet will have a girls night and have dinner at a nice restaurant. She accepts her relationship and bought Edith a gift. Circe says she broke up with her, Gisela isn’t surprised. She accuses her of being immature.

Tino wants to know what Bill said Bill seems to think Tino was ok with the risky surgery. He’s giving Emi his last name. Tino says that won’t make him a true father.

Uli thinks Guzman was using the name Cindy to trap him. Hofis thinks they have to go to the jail and confront him. It’s the only way.

Tino says Bill robbed him of his wife and son. Ill thinks he still loves Aide but it’s his,own fault that he lost her. Tino throws the first punch. Then they fight.

Bill is talking to a lawyer. The lawyer says Tino is the legal dad, changing Emi’s last name won’t change that. But when he realizes Emi is 13 he says that’s the age where Emi can choose who he wants to have custody of.

Days before was the fight. Bill says he lost Aide the day he divorced her.

Scarlet is looking at a family picture. She asks Aide why they never told her Facundo was out of jail last year.

Chofis tells Uli he was kicked out of the university and Ivette is denouncing him. This is his only option. He never wants to see Guzman again.

Domenica Montero - Episode 20 part one

This is summarized and abbreviated, and events may be told out of order!

We return to Domenica overhearing Prudencio telling Nana that Pedro is really Luis’s brother. Domenica interrupts them, all amazed, and Prudencio immediately mumbles a denial and tries to scuttle away, but Nana decides to admit the truth.

Dominica’s first instinct is to tell everyone, because Pedro deserves to know. But she also jumps on Mercedes’ blame for this, noting that Mercedes is all high and mighty for someone who created the circumstances that caused Pedro to be abandoned. (I think it’s a stretch to blame Mercedes - her faithless husband could have done something *far* better for Pedro than dumping him on Prudencio and throwing him a few pesos now and then. He didn’t even plan for Pedro’s care if he should die prematurely, which he did.)

Nana and Prudencio try to talk Domenica out of blabbing, noting how much harm it would cause, seeing how fond Pedro is of Mercedes. Domenica thinks that maybe she should just tell Luis so he can decide what to do - but when Domenica has a chance to tell him, she chickens out. She just doesn’t feel it’s her place.

Mercedes is still being a hard nut about signing that contract so that Luis can rent the land from Domenica, even though it’s probably Luis’s land. So, Luis hatches a plan to pay for the rent using only his own funds - which is a stretch, financially. Mercedes is pissed when she finds out, like she assumed he’d be forced to give up and plant somewhere else, or just sell the hacienda. How DARE he come up with another alternative! Then Lawyer Friend of Luis suggests that he use the money from the sale of his family hacienda and buy out Mercedes’ half. Mercedes is put out by this, but quickly agrees.

Mercedes sees that Nana is friends with Prudencio, and demands, in a mixture or jealousy and distrust, that Nana not be allowed to visit Prudencio. I think she’s jealous because Prudencio says Nana is or was his novia, and I think distrust because Nana is so loyal to that “bad woman” Domenica Montero! Prudencio is rather defiant about that - he won’t stop being friends with Nana, so he’ll just have to go visit her at Domenica’s place! He punctuates his irritation by calling Mercedes “patrona” and leaves in a huff.
 

Domenica episodio 20 part 2

Domenica talks with Nana about Prudencio being her novio back in the day. Nana explains that when Domenica’s parents died (I think Domenica was 7), everyone had to go to the city and there was no way that Nana was staying behind without her niña. Nana doesn’t feel like she suffered and doesn’t regret choosing to care for little orphaned Domenica instead of having her own family with Prudencio.

We have more scenes with Cosme’s secretary Blanca, who loans books to the scholarly daughter of Gabriel (Maria). She bumps into Cute Lawyer, who invites her and Maria out for a snack. While Cute Lawyer is chatting with Maria at an ice cream stand, few feet away where Blanca is sitting, Lawyer Friend plops himself at her table and makes himself comfortable. Poor Cute Lawyer can’t turn his back for a few minutes without some other guy coming along! Well, it was all for naught, Blanca soon has to leave to take care of her mother.

Pedro made amends with Bartolo, and all is good.

When Pedro finds out that Mercedes will sell her part of the hacienda, he is worried that she’ll leave. They discuss this at length. Mercedes invites Pedro to come with her when she goes to the city, he can get educated there and see many things! Pedro isn’t keen on it, but he’ll go if she’s there. I think it is resolved that after they get that vital bean crop harvested, that Pedro will leave with Mercedes.

Gabriel is revving up to have an affair with Kiara. She wants him to help conceal the fact that the women’s center is run by Domenica and her. She wants Gabriel’s help in promoting the place. Meanwhile, Maria suspects her dad is running around again and Gabriel’s wife is very sad too.

Kiara is treating Nieves a bit like a slave, but also offers Nieves one of her fancy designer outfits and promises to help give Nieves a makeover. I don’t trust this at all.

Generó and the other corrupt two are collaborating with a corrupt agricultural expert. He’s going to sabotage Luis’s crop. After about a month into the two month crop, I think what is going to happen is they’ll give an “overdose” of pesticides which will kill the crop along with the pests.

Generó finds a replacement for Roque in Osvaldo’s “carrier pigeon,” a guy who works for Luis and who is paid by Osvaldo to send messages as well as reports on the doings of Adelaida (Prudencio’s granddaughter). This guy seems like he doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty, or bloody, as the case may be, so he’s hired by Genero on the spot.

Nana bickers with Prudencio and throws it in his face that the “unattainable” woman that he has long been in love with is of course Mercedes, and she wishes he’d just admit it. He gives a feeble denial.

It’s been a month, and Luis’s crop is going well. He and Domenica go fishing in their bathing suits at the favorite watering hole; they end up following the telenovela tradition of Kissing in Water, and that’s where we leave episode 20.
 

MONTEVERDE #41, Part 1 of 3

Carolina has a talk with Andres about his father and he calls her “mama”. Padilla walks in (uninvited) overhearing and accuses, “you are Carolina, not Sister Celeste”. Carolina denies it at first as does Andres (trying to say she is sister/mother Celeste) but Padilla doesn’t back down. Finally, she admits she is Carolina. I believe he wants to renegotiate the terms of their agreement as poor Andres blames himself for their predicament.

At Oscar’s, as Franco looks on uncomfortably, Julieta picks up a picture of Franco as a baby and says he is adorable. Franco leaves as Julieta looks a bit discouraged.

Tatiana gives the “writer” a kiss on the cheek as Carolina runs after Padilla. He threatens her and says this new information is worth much more money than before (did he say a million pesos???) He goes to shake her hand and she pushes it away frowning.

She returns to an upset Andres. She reassures the lad all is well although it is far from the truth.

Moises seems ready to give Oscar his opinion about Julieta staying there. He doesn’t like it! Oscar folds his arms and tells him that’s the way it is and pinches his son’s cheeks affectionately on the way out.

Lucia takes another delicious confection out of the oven. One of the women pulls out her phone it appears a hotel is looking for help. She gives her the information as Lucia thanks her profusely pulls off her apron.

Gloria shows up cooing to her daughter and ignoring Juan David! In an shocking turn of events, she even appears to be civil to Juan David, putting out her hand for him to shake as Angelina smiles and Juan David looks skeptical.

Lucia is by the infamous gate and calls the hotel and speaks with hawt Diego Bandini at the restaurant. She is given an interview and is so excited!

Julieta takes a stroll to the stables where she meets an unhappy Lucas who asks why she is there. He reminds her he could be the father as she sneers at him. They argue and he rather manhandles her. Unfortunately for them, little ears and eyes belonging to Moises are watching as he peers over the stonewall, taking it all in as she fumes.

Juanita laments all the money Padilla now wants! They rue the situation as Hugo comes out and apologizes for what happened with the school. He puts his arm around Julieta and she flinches. Carolina asks what happened but she walks off.

Lucia is baking up a storm for her interview the next day.

MONTEVERDE #41, Part 2 of 3

Gloria is droning on and on as Angelina looks like she is falling into a coma (Juan David washing dishes in the background). I’m sorry to interrupt you, it’s so interesting but I am very tired Angelina admits, yawning. Gloria picks up her bag and actually says goodbye to Juan David as he throws down his dish towel in disgust.

Lucas and Rosalia show up at the good padre’s with pictures of his mother who is blonde and quite beautiful. “Incredible” the padre says smiling. Rosalia motormouths for a moment and after the padre seems to indicate he will help.

Juanita admits to Carolina that she likes Hugo. A lot. Juanita hesitates (if she actually says what the problem is, I didn’t understand it). Carolina assures her all will be well.

A nervous Eva waits for Nestor who returns with a job offer! She is very happy for him and proposes getting food from Manuel’s restaurant.

Hugo asks Franco how all is going; Hugo starts to tell him something (which I didn’t get) but stops when Eva comes in. Franco initially ignores her but then asks her to sit down. He tells her Julieta is staying at Oscar’s; she looks surprised. He says it was the only solution and is surprisingly open with her. She asks after Lucia and he says they broke up and why. She expresses regret and puts her hand on his for a moment. She stands and they look at each other for a moment. The ice might finally be thawing!

Julieta has prepared dinner for Oscar and Moises. Oscar seems pleasantly surprised, Moises rather scornful. As she recites the menu, Moises makes it clear he doesn’t like ceviche. Julieta serves and when Oscar takes a bite, raises his eyebrows and murmurs approval, clearly enjoying what he tasted. Moises immediately pipes up saying something to the effect that Lucas and Julieta were novios. Julieta keeps her cool and denies it telling Oscar they were merely friends. Oscar gives Moises a warning stare as Moises’ pierces Julieta with a scathing look.

Lucia comes into Manuel’s (grand central station tonight) and exchanges pleasantries with him in the back room. Naturally, Lucia comes out just as Lucas is talking about Julieta staying at Oscar’s! She repeats what she just heard, questioning Franco, very upset. Answer me she demands! He tries to explain but she won’t hear it and leaves. Franco laments all the problems Julieta is causing.

Julieta comes across Moises in the living room the next morning. He rebuffs her conversation and says, “no me gusta”. 😊 He says something about school and gets up and walks off rudely (atta boy I smile).

Angelina and Juan David have breakfast when Gloria AND her suitcase come rolling in. As Juan David’s eyes almost escape his sockets, she matter of factly explains her daughter is pregnant and she is there to help. Juan David’s jaw clenches as he stares. He asks Gloria for a moment and after she leaves the room, he tells Angelina that Gloria cannot stay. Fickle Angelina pleads that Gloria be allowed to stay to help her. “Por favor” she begs until Juan David gives in and albeit very reluctantly, agrees.

Manuel complains to Hugo (the recipient of every confidence in the town) about Gloria who has gone back to her daughter’s. Hugo sticks up for Juan David. Manuel gives a few too many personal details as he suffers in Gloria’s absence. Hugo doesn’t want to hear it and gets up and leaves.

MONTEVERDE #41, Part 3 of 3

Moises and Oscar arrive at school and as the boys run off, Oscar tips his hat at Carolina. They smile at each other as she walks inside.

At Manuel’s, a very inebriated Manzanita is slumped over a table. Too many tequilas Juanita smartly observes. The man starts a drunken spiel about the vandalized school as a concerned Manuel looks on with furrowed brow.

Juan David shows up and tells Father Gabriel the bad news. He moans to his tio…

A stone-faced Manuel brings Manzanita to Oscar’s….

The women at the inn are making sandwiches for Mr. Flores’ event. Carolina grits her teeth as Tatiana natters on about him adoringly.

Why did you do it Manuel questions him?? After hearing the response, Oscar gets in his jeep and drives off.

Lucia arrives at the hotel. After parking, she crosses the street with her baked goods in her arms when a car roars up and nearly hits her. She drops her wares and stares as the driver quickly alights and asks her if she is all right. We soon see it is Diego Bandini with whom she had the interview. They realize who each other is as Lucia grimaces but then quickly smiles as Diego flips the now smashed to smithereens cake.

Moises shows Andres something in the bushes.

Uh oh. Poor Hugo is putting some cokes on the bar when Oscar walks in. Hugo says hello but Oscar, face like a thundercloud asks him if it’s true, why did he have the school vandalized???

How did Hugo, the nicest galan (in waiting) ever get in this predicament? Dispensing nothing but the best, calmest advice to others, he completely botched this. Lucia finding out about Julieta being stashed at Oscar’s was no surprise. How and where on earth is Carolina going to get the money to silence Padilla?? Another great episode.

Liz, thank you for your thoughtful, detailed recap of what I thought was a very confusing episode. You did wonders with this.

Uli did a terrible thing but no one's reactions seem to mirror that. I know Tino loves his son, but he should have told him what he did was dead wrong. Yet, he was calm and collected and I thought a bit too supportive. "Uli is being suspended from school. He argues that he didn’t do,anything wrong..." Really?? Where is the repentance?

"He doesn’t know if she was dating anyone. No one came to the funeral. He remembers a phone conversation he had. He asked about a boyfriend and wanted to meet him. She didn’t want people at work to know...She walked into the jail". I believe that was to see Facundo. Am I right? If I remember correctly from the first series, Facundo and she had an attraction but I don't believe they acted on it at the time.

Checo blanched at the dinner when his mother's memorial was brought up. I initially thought Lichita might be alive, now I don't think so. What is the secret Checo is keeping about her death?

"He never wants to see Guzman again". I didn't understand what the guard said about Guzman when Uli and Chofis went to the jail (?) Could you clarify that Liz?

Thanks Diana, the second half will be up later this afternoon. I didn’t see them go to the jail to see Guzmán, which must be in the second half. Uli recorded the sex, Cindy wanted to “see what he’s got”. We saw her watching it in real time, so I’m assuming he shared it with her. But maybe he was going to show it to her and she hacked him. That’s the only way I Can feel he believes he did nothing wrong! Maybe we are a different generation, as the girls say about their mother and grandmother. I don’t remember Facundo and Lichita being attracted. Their romance must have been in jail and she died about when he got out.
I think we have a ways to go before good wins out!

I am.getting more and more confused. I thought Guzman died. So is Guzman Cindy? I had suspected that Cindy was awful , smirking Melina.. I didn't know that he was in jail .Also, I have no memory of Lichita and Facundo being attracted to each other .. Is Lichita really dead ? Checco thinks she's dead and thinks he has a secret he's not telling the family ...am I right about that ?
Tino himself is screwed up, so he is giving bad advice to Uli.
Will we ever find out what Tino or Aide did that made Lila leave home?

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Carolina has ten minutes to make up her mind about the renegotiation.

Julieta tells Franco that she hopes their baby looks like him! She is going to feel so much better living there at Oscar's, like she is with family!

The writing workshop starts tomorrow after they eat. Padilla says that he liked the poem that Tatiana gave him to read.

Carolina tries to use her situation to get a deal of some sort from Padilla but has no luck. Business is business. She protests that she is not a swindler. He thinks that is up to a judge to decide. Since there is an arrest warrant out for her and he knows where she is, he could make a load of money off of that information. He wants 100,000 pesos ($5,567.00). She is not pleased as he reminds her she will be getting millions of pesos for her house sale, so what he is asking her for isn't really that much. Carolina finally has to agree.

Moisés thinks that Oscar should have consulted with him about Julieta staying there because he lives there, too. Oscar asks him what he thinks. Moisés doesn't like her. He hates the way she talks and she likes to pinch his cheeks. When he doesn't like somebody, he doesn't like somebody!!! His father says he wants him to behave around her and not to play any of his pranks.

The Refugio Hotel in Zacatillo is looking to hire an experienced pastry chef.

Gloria has brought Angelina the soup that she likes so much. Angelina is happy since she hasn't been able to eat anything. Gloria thinks that is what she her mother is there for: to spoil her! Gloria also wants to take advantage of the fact that the three of them are together to make peace with Juan David. She realizes they have had many misunderstandings as of late but wants her little grandchild to be able to breathe in peace and harmony. To show her goodwill, she is allowing him back into Manuel's restaurant! Juan David reluctantly shakes her hand.

Lucas is surprised to see Julieta at the ranch. She tells Lucas to get used to seeing her around because she is now living at Oscar's. He was a real gentleman when he found out that things were not going well for her at Manuel's. Yes, Franco knows. Lucas thinks that she is capable of doing anything to get what she wants. Who knows what she told Oscar? She goes to leave and he grabs her arm and tells her that he will make sure she doesn't get her way because that baby she is carrying could also be his or it could be the the baby of ANY OTHER GUY SHE BEDDED on the Riviera Maya. She warns him that he is offending her. He has to laugh seeing her trying to hide what she is doing. She answers that the threats of a simple ranch hand don't scare her. She tells him to go so she doesn't have to make a scene saying that he is bothering her. As he goes, he tells her he will be watching. She mutters that she cannot stand him to herself (and also to Moisés)
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Gloria is telling Angelina about a concoction she can use on her belly to avoid stretch marks. It is made with 2 carrots, coconut oil and aloe vera. She will make it for her every day!! She even has a second one that uses honey! She doesn't like that one so much because it leaves your belly sticky. Then when her feet start to swell, the best thing is to use camphor . . .

The good father agrees to assist Lucas by getting permission from neighboring parishes to post copies of his mother's photo along with the message to let the good father know if they recognize her. The good father also notices that Rosalía and Lucas are back together and tells them they are a lovely couple.

Juanita tells Carolina that she really likes Hugo but she is having a hard time responding to his advances because of Abel who broke her heart. Carolina tells her to turn the page. She uses herself as an example that it can be done. With time, Hugo will help her heal her heart.

Franco tells Hugo that he has made it clear to Julieta that just because she is staying at his father's house, doesn't mean that things are any different between them. Hugo asks if he has told Lucas yet. Franco doesn't seem to understand what he is getting at. Hugo nervously tries to back track but Manuel comes out with Franco's order. Eva next orders a bottle of red wine to take back to Néstor's.

Franco tells Eva that he is worried about Julieta staying at Oscar's. Something about the situation doesn't make sense to him. She is demanding and possessive.

At the table, Moisés comments that Julieta was Lucas' novia before she was Franco's and asks her if that is not true. He explains that just a short while ago, he saw Julieta and Lucas fighting like novios. Oscar asks Julieta why she was fighting with Lucas. Julieta has no idea why Moisés would say that. He answers that he saw them at the plaza and that is how novios argue. Julieta says that she and Lucas never were novios, If Moisés saw them arguing it was because Lucas didn't agree to her living at Oscar's. Oscar doesn't get it. She explains that Lucas is Franco's friend so he felt he had a right to complain. He sees her an obstacle between Franco and Lucía. She says that has never been her intention. She is aware of her position in the situation. She would never want to hurt Franco. Oscar thinks that Lucas needs to mind his own business like somebody he knows as he directs his eyes to Moisés.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras Parte 3

Poor Lucía has only come in for some cinnamon and ends up getting an earful.
An aggravated Lucas cannot believe what is going on in Franco's head having Julieta live at his father's place.

Franco is counting the days until Julieta is back in Perú so his problems with Lucía will be over. Lucas wonders if she will ever leave. She is showing all the signs of wanting to stay because of Franco and now she is in his father's house. Franco makes it clear that there is no way that will happen. Lucas warns him that Julieta is a lot more cunning than he thinks.

Gloria says she is only going to stay with Juan David and Angelina while Angelina is pregnant. Angelina tells Juan David that she will tell Gloria to leave once the baby is born.

Manuel talks to poor embarrassed Hugo about his nights of passion with Gloria and that he has the same energy as when he was eighteen. Juan David wants Gloria to be far away and he wants Gloria to be so close to him, glued to him so that they can spoon at night. One thing is to see Gloria over a cup of coffee and another having her in his room doing the tiger jump . . .

Oscar gives Moisés permission to eat at the inn with Andrés.

The good father tells Juan David that maybe Gloria has changed so he has to give her the benefit of the doubt. When his nephew says he can't, the good father reminds him that if God our Lord can give us second chances, why can't he give his mother-in-law one???

It seems like Oscar is having problems finding another dedicated vet that isn't
merely doing a circuit through the area.

When Andrés hears who the sandwiches are being made for, he whispers to Moisés that he is the man he doesn't like. The boys go outside to play.

Moisés leads Andrés to some plants remarking this is just what they need. There should be a good number of roly poly bugs which will be the secret ingredient on the sandwich for the guy they don't like. He tells Andrés to go get something to put them in.

Moises instinctively realizing that Juan and Julieta were arguing like novios was impressive. Well, I guess he's certainly seen quite a bit of that lately, right??? What a smart little lad. I love every scene he is in.

So Abel was the rogue who broke Juanita's heart!

Papas #54 part 3

Scarlet wonders why her parents lied. It wasn’t them, it was Facundo. He didn’t want Scarlet to see him until he could offer her something. Aide said they tried to reach him but couldn’t. Scarlet thinks back to when her parents were trying to get her to go visit him in jail. She says she’s the worst daughter as Clara Luz rushes in to tell Aide Bill and Tino are fighting.

Gisela is giving Circe a pep talk. Sometimes people get hurt but that’s life. Lila comes by and is introduced. Gisela invites her to the dinner. It sounds like it’s at the house with Aide too. Lila declines, she doesn’t want to share the same space. Circe doesn’t know if she’ll go. Gisela tells Circe sometimes we’re hurt by our mothers, but you shouldn’t carry a grudge for years.

Aide and Clara Luz break up the fight. She wonders how two adult dads can fight.

Nazario sees the kids doing homework. They’re singers and shouldn’t be in school, they can learn at home. When Pipe asks what his parents think Nazario tells him he’s in charge. Pipe likes going to school. He sends them off a d Prisma tells him to be careful what he says to them, they could repeat it to Clara Luz. Then he says he’s stressed about Gibron’s murder. Prisma tries to comfort him she tells him he didn’t have anything to do with it.

Both guys apologize. Bill was bringing the kids home. Tino came by to,tell the kids goodbye. She wants to talk to them alone. She tells them fighting is a horrible example for the kids. Tino mentions bringing Uli with him. Aide says,that’s teaching him to run away from problems. Bill saw the video and offers to help in any way, get a lawyer. They both say no to him.

Uli thinks Tino is jealous of Aide and Bill. Scarlet points out he has Melina. Emi worries that will affect his chance for an operation. The other two say no, Emi tells Uli it’s easy for him to say as he’s not in a wheelchair. Scarlet asks how Uli is. He says it’s been bad. Scarlet and Emi know he’s innocent and are sure there will be a solution.

Both men apologize. Bill wants to speak of Emi’s surgery. Tino wants to wait,till they’ve calmed down. Aide agrees with Tino. Melina approaches and wonders what they did to him.and pulls him away while she glares at Bill and Aide. She wants to put makeup on the bruises for the band. Tino says it’s not important. She says when they’re away he’ll forget all his problems. Meanwhile Aide is cleaning up Bill. She knows Tino started it but expected Bill to show more restraint. He wonders if that’s why she turned down his offer to help. She says URI is her problem, she doesn’t want to start their relationship with her problems.

The three generations of woman are having the dinner Gisela prepared. The reason is she wants to spend time with her loved ones. Scarlet mentions Facundo and Circe feels she’ll soon be hugging him. Gisela wants no sadness at the dinner. Circe tells Aide she knows she’ll be happy with her new, she broke up with Edith, she doesn’t like woman. Aide says it was never that, she just wants her children to be happy.

The twins and all the family are having dinner together. Prisma is happy to have them back. Nazario has his comments. Clara Luz and Rudolf announce they’re sleeping there when Nazario says something to them. They kiss, they are together, Prisma thinks their love is stronger than ever.

Papas #54 part 4

At the girls’ dinner Scarlet asks about the three husbands. Gisela felt none were good enough and she went far away. Then she met Hernan, but he took her money and her heart. She won’t be happy until he’s in jail. They toast.

Poncho is getting compliments for winning the scholarship. From a couple of girls too. He tells his friend he will help his mom and pay for University. His friend warns him to be careful, someone might like him just for his money, then says he’s joking.

Gisela is playing with Alexander. Aurelio is happy to see her enjoying her grandson. She’s repairing her relationships, Aurelio wonders if he’s included. She mentions Hernan, he says not all men are like him. She agrees. She needs to check with the police on progress made.

Scarlet is trying to reach her dad on her social media, although if he’s not on it will he see her. Íker tells Scarlet he misses her, he was used to seeing her all the time. He asks if they can be novios. She says with the problems in the families she can’t.

Tino is talking to two of the band. The girl offers to put makeup on his bruise. When she leaves the leader says he’s still in love with Aide. Tino says that’s crazy. The guy tells him Rino’s jealous. Aide calls him. She tells him Uli was suspended. Tino says he never said anything to them.

Melina is watching the video of Ivette and reading the comments. Smiling!

Serena likes talking to Prisma, she’s so serene. Prisma says even though they’re very different, they get along well. Prisma says Nazario is giving a testimony about Gibron. Serena wants to ask her a question, only because she’s worried. Why is she with Nazario. Is he very aggressive with her. No answers, as Melina walks in. She tells her that her career as influencer is taking off. She needs Prisma to take some photos of her.

Nazario tells the officer Rudolf is like a brother to him but he might have something to do with Gibron’s death. The officer says no and Nazario mentions the one that was round Tino and Aide’s house. The detective says he didn’t die from the head injury, so now Nazario knows he didn’t do it

Martin is writing a love song. He’s glad Clara Luz is there to inspire him. He wants her to go out with him. She can’t, as there’s Rudolf and Pipe. They’re going in for a kiss.

Chofis and Uli are ready to face Guzman. When they go in they learn he took his life 6 months after getting there.

Aide tells Bill Uli never told them he was suspended. Bill thinks Uli and Circe are adults that have to handle their own problems. Aide says parents never stop worrying and helping them. With advice or financial help, especially when they’re still in school.

The kids at school have learned he has a sexual transmitted disease. They’re also saying he’s gay. This in on social media.

Chofis feels she didn’t get to close the circle of hurt with Guzman. But she and Uli have their shared pain. They hug.

Nazario confronts Melina and tells her Gibron didn’t die from the fall but from being beaten on the head. Melina wonders if this will change things between them. Nazario wants the truth from her.

Bill is going to Madrid to open more cafeterias. He wants the kids to visit them there on their vacations. And travel with them. He wants Aide to go as his wife. He proposes.

Perhaps I've been wrong and Uli didn't put the video up but Melina did?? It wouldn't have been in character for him to do so but then again doing a video at all wasn't like him either.

Nazario is an idiot and a mean one. He should never have confronted her. I'm sure his days will be numbered.

Thanks, Diana. No, Uli didn’t put the video up. He did record it because Cindy wanted to see what he could offer her. So he recorded it for her. But she saw it live, I’m not sure if that was his intention or if she somehow got into his computer. My thought is he was going to show it to her from his phone or computer, but I don’t think we were ever told for sure.

I thought Nazario should have kept the information about the killing to himself. He’s crazy to trust Melina. And she’s much smarter than him.

Months before, Hernan is talking to a woman at the old Maximax. He sees Tino and semi hides. He texts Melina he located Tino, they can go forward with their plan..She wonders if his ex will be a problem. He thinks she won’t say anything. He thinks, they say families are sacred, but that’s where big problems begin.

Aide says it’s too soon after her divorce to say yes. And she has Uli’s problem.Bill is understanding, take your time, but he wants to form a family with her.

Nazario wants to know if she killed Gibron. She says you should know me. He mentions denouncing her. She has a video of him with Gibron when he said he was far away. She also knows he killed Gibron’s dad in Columbia.

Uli is wondering if it was Melina or Hernan that was Cindy. He mentions Hernan was using his computers and could have copied other things he did. He thinks it strange that his so longs were Cindy’s friends but mone of them knew her. Chofis points out it was a fake account.

The whole family of C’s plus are discussing the tribute tomorrow. Cheno mentions Tino can’t come. Checo leaves the room. Chofis wonders if Poncho is all right. He’s going to study.

Melina and Íker surprise Tino. They’re excited about the concert. When Melina leaves Íker wants to know about Tino and his mom. Rino says they’re together because of him. Melina is listening.

Cheno, Aide and then Clara Luz and Rudolf all make heartwarming speeches about Lichita. Facundo is at her ashes, telling her she’s the only one that believed in him and stood by him. We see flashbacks as she tells him they should keep their relationship a secret a while longer. He knows if she were here he could ask her how to win back Scarlet. Circe is comforting Checo. She thinks it’s time he tells his family. He’s not ready. He asks about Edith and Circe says that’s over and she’ll tell him later. Chofis asks Scarlet what’s wrong. She says the tribute mad her very sad. They talk about Facundo. Scarlet remembers making excuses to not visit him and he had tears but sad not to worry, he’ll be hugging her when he sees her. She wonders if he still loves her. Chofis says dad’s get magic when their child is born, it’s called unconditional love. Circe tells Checo to be strong, she’ll be there for him. Rudolf tells Cheno and Chofis that Serena shows so much respect for Lichita by organizing this. The tribute ends.

Papas #55 part 2

Aurelio comes in from the garden. Gisela thinks he makes excuses to see her. She says he’s strong, handsome and all kind of manly things. He asks about her phone call to the police. They haven’t found Hernan. When she gets the money back from Aide she’s going to hire a private detective. Aurelio says he’ll be glad to search for Hernan for her.

At the concert Tono dedicates a song to Lichita.

Cheno and his kids are talking about Lichita. They talk about how she loved them so much. Chacito says sometimes he dreams of her and doesn’t want to wake up. Nemo says when Checo was born they had to learn how to be parents. Nemo says he has something to tell them and we see him on the phone with Lichita. She wonders why he hasn’t called. He didn’t have a signal. She says he’s going to be a great photographer. He says he’ll see her in three months and he’ll be a professional photographer. After I love yous they hang up. Lichita regrets not telling him about Facundo, he would understand. The family wonders why they waited so long to tell them.

Melina wonders why Tino’s sad. He said he’s strong missed the tribute. She says she and Íker are here and they’ll have a good time. Her perky mood didn’t seem to cheer him.

Rudolf isn’t looking forward to living with Nazario again. They’ ll do it for the kids. They talk about “us”. Rudolf says they’ll be papas of convenience.

As Rosario is talking in court Nazario yells over, and Rudolf yells back. The judge tells the, not to interfere. She says Pipe is a special case and having two sets of parents seems to confuse him. The lawyer asks about custody of Natalia and is told that will have to be a separate hearing. She is looking closely into the facts she has on Nazario. I’m not sure if she gave custody to anyone yet. She never said a name but hit her gravel.

Íker is feeling strange. Melina says they are having a good weekend with Tino, doesn’t he want to be close to his dad? Then don’t do anything to ruin it. Lila and he are his only biological children. Make yourself indispensable to Tino.

Chofis sees Poncho sitting on a bench. He says he was late for chemistry and couldn’t get in the lab. She mentions the Olympic scholarship. He tells her he’s being bullied again and shows her his phone.

Uli is looking on his computer. Gisela wonders what he’ll do,while he’s suspended. Aurelio rings in an actuary that has a denouncement against him for putting intimate things on the internet.

A man is looking at Emi’s picture on his phone, then the other kids, then he sees Scarlet’s plea to her dad.

A friend is watching Scarlet’s plea to her dad. She wonders why she put it up, is she mad at Tino? Scarlet feels someone watching her, it’s her dad, but he rushes off.

Hernan and Melina are talking. He wants his share of the necklace. She says he’s never going to get it, what will he do, tell Tino. No, he’ll take Íker far away from her. She’s only using him to get Tino. She accuses him of thinking Rino was a millionaire. He’s not afraid of her. This was two scenes split by her getting a gun from the table where Hernan had once looked for the necklace.

MONTEVERDE #42, Part 1 of 3

Oscar confronts Hugo about the damage done to the school. Hugo dances around it, mentioning Juanita and concocting some story as Oscar advances toward him. Whatever was said, Oscar says “esta bien” and leaves. Juantia comes out and he tells her that he mentioned his love for her in whatever he mumbled to Oscar.

Lucia and Diego smile and talk as they head toward the hotel.

Juanita tells Hugo that she knows what he did was in the interest of Carolina. She touches his face and he leans in but she pulls back at the last second but later smiles.

Moises and Andres join the women for lunch. Oh no, Moises adds his live bugs to the sammies as Andres rubs his hands with anticipation.

Angelina asks Juan David what is wrong. He wanted to be alone with her in their house, without Gloria! Angelina coos about the baby and he gives in kissing her.

Diego gives Lucia a tour of the hotel and they sit in the dining room with the damaged baked goods.

Cárcamo is back!

Lucia tells Diego about Monteverde and its lack of cell phone service among other things. It appears she has the job as they shake hands and smile. He asks if she needs a ride. They will see each other tomorrow.

Padilla enters the inn and sits, ready for the gathering. The women ask him what his favorite is. (I think he says the Bible!) Drinks are poured and the lads rush over with the sandwich plates. Padilla takes a huge bite smiling as he says he likes it as the boys giggle.

Manuel starts reading Hugo the riot act when Julieta shows up. His attention is diverted and he politely asks her how she is doing at Oscar’s. Fine is the answer. Then Eva comes in and unsmilingly chastises her. Julieta turns the offense into a defense mocking Eva for abandoning her hijo all those years ago. She doesn’t know that Franco is on the steps right behind Eva. He comes into view, looking like he is none too happy as she complains his mother was bothering her. He doesn’t believe her and tells her not to mess with his family. After he leaves, she gives Manuel money for her order as Julieta walks out her head high glaring. Thank you Eva tells him. It’s nothing he shrugs. Eva is clearly touched he referred to her as family. Manuel asks her if she wants coffee as she wipes her eyes, smiling.

MONTEVERDE #42, Part 2 of 3

The women wonder what happened to Padilla. Said Padilla comes downstairs slowly, clutching his stomach. He is obviously sick and making a groaning noise, turns and runs upstairs again as the boys giggle.

Lucia tell Rosalia about Diego and their meeting; Rosalia says its romantic.

Julieta gets back to Oscar’s who politely inquires as to how she is. Franco is right behind him and again reams her out about her treatment of his mother. She looks fit to be tied.

Gloria and her huge collection of cookware arrive at Angelina’s.

Julieta verbally fights back, crying that she has no support system, no family. She is alone. Her voice goes up several octaves as she lambastes him. He says his family deserves respect as he leaves. She looks stricken after, and a bit scared.

Carolina gives Andres the “I’m watching you” sign!

Juan David bursts into Father Gabriel’s (seemingly never able to get a moment’s peace), complaining about Gloria.

Lucas and Rosalia kiss but are interrupted by an upset Franco, complaining about Julieta. Rosalia gives her two cents (which is all she seems to value Julieta at). Rosalia gets him to laugh.

Manuel tells Hugo that their conversation isn’t finished. Hugo sort of admits something. Or other. As Oscar listens, and this is strictly my guess, Hugo seems to Sister Celeste is responsible for the school’s damage. Oscar rushes in and grabs him, demanding to know what he means. I could not follow what Hugo said other than he asks forgiveness. Oscar says he won’t forgive as Manuel rubs Hugo’s shoulders. Juanita comes out and asks what happened. Leave us alone she is asked.

A sober, hatless Oscar greets Carolina. I can only speculate that Oscar asks if it’s true she doesn’t want to return to school. I think she says yes as he looks baffled. After he leaves, she cries.

MONTEVERDE #42, Part 3 of 3

Oscar goes to the river and recalls their conversation. Juanita comes in and asks Carolina what’s wrong. Oscar thinks I’m responsible for the damage Carolina laments.

Cárcamo and his friends, including Franco and Lucas, arrive at Manuel’s and set off for his bachelor party. Hugo remains behind. Manuel asks why he isn’t going. Just then, Padilla comes in doubled over in pain. Manuel tells him to sit down but Padilla, in obvious agony refuses. Manuel natters on as Padilla grimaces.

Father Gabriel arrives as Gloria and Angelina eat. Juan David isn’t here Gloria states. The good father needs only to mention cockroaches once and Gloria is scratching away and carefully inspecting her food!

Rosalia enters Julieta’s room who visibly cringes at her appearance. I think Julieta tells her they aren’t friends and her intentions are her own. “Imbecile” she mutters as Rosalia leaves. On the way out, she runs into Moises. He tells her he saw Lucas and Julieta arguing like they are novios! Rosalia is clearly disturbed.

Cárcamo and his crew quickly enter the bar and are having a great time, hootin’ and a hollerin’. Juan David sees a poster at the show and inquires about it.

The women are playing cards at the inn when Manuel shows up asking that Juanita talk to Hugo. She leaves with him.

Rosalia is on a verbal tirade about Julieta to Lucia.

Hearing a knock on his door, Hugo, thinking it’s Manuel, yells that he please leave him alone. It’s Juanita and as she enters, asks what she wants. He is downcast but she manages to cheer him up and the two almost kiss but again, she backs away. This time Hugo looks upset.

In the last scene, Oscar pops into the Inn asking to talk with Sister Celeste. They walk outside and Oscar seems to tell her he loves her a great deal but…then I believe he proceeds to break up with her.

Whatever excuse Hugo gave to Oscar about the damaged school was the pervasive theme throughout. Not being able to translate that completely affected my ability to do justice to the recap. I soldiered through as best I could.

I thought Lichita's memorial was touching, well done and well acted.

I was trying to remember why Facundo was incarcerated; I know he tampered with a car's brakes (thinking Tino was going to drive) but I think it was Uli who got injured. Not sure if that was the reason or if it was something else. In any event, I hope he doesn't hurt Scarlet any further. He has much to atone for.

It was El Chacal who was looking at the pictures of Aide and Tino's kids.

Hernan is another fool for thinking he can "best" Melina. As you noted, she is far more intelligent than both Nazario and Hernan.

"Lila and he are his only biological children.e his only biological children". Melina's slipping. Tino has three bio children. She forgot about Alex.

I was very confused by the gun scenes at the end.

Diana, I forgot about Alexander too! I was confused about the gun scene too. I had actually started typing about her getting the gun when the next scene played. It started the same as the previous scene, but went further. So it must have been the same scene. So I don’t know when she got the gun. It was also the same table where Hernan had looked for the necklace. But that table was at Aide’s. I don’t remember what Facundo did, I think it was embezzling, but not sure.

Susan, they showed Melina texting Uli as Cindy. And we saw her watching his video. But Uli doesn’t know who Cindy is. Melina’s goal is to have Tino lose his kids so Íker is the only one. Not by losing their lives, but by turning against him, or getting them out of his life.

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 1

Oscar wonders why Manzanita is blaming Hugo for being responsible for the damage at the school. Hugo says that when Manzanita gets drunk, he can say all sort of crazy things. Oscar doesn't believe that Manzanita was lying. Hugo thinks that it must be because Manzanita is in love with Juanita and is blaming him to make him look bad. Oscar can't follow. Hugo explains that Juanita is close to sister Celeste and Manzanita wouldn't want to be connected to having done the damage to the school so he decided to make Hugo look bad. Hugo says he has to clear it all up so he isn't being blamed for something he didn't do. Oscar notices how nervous Hugo is. Hugo answers of course he is being blamed for something he didn't do. Oscar tells Hugo he better not be lying to him. Hugo asks what would he have to gain by damaging the school.

Juanita asks what is going on. Hugo says that things really have gone south.
Manzanita is going around saying that he is the one who destroyed the school. He told Oscar he was wrong and had to make up that Manzanita did it because he was in love with her. He was worried what would happen if he found out the truth.

Diego might not be able to try the samples but he can show Lucía around the hotel.

The roly polys are only added to one sandwich destined for Padilla. The boys will ensure that happens by handing it to him by passing them out.

Angelina says her mother was right about pistachios preventing y her morning sickness. Juan David is afraid that Gloria will stay forever. Angelina tries to assure him that everything is under control. She guilts him into letting Gloria stay be saying if he gets her upset then their baby will be upset. He will try his best.

Lucía agrees to come back the next day with more samples for Diego to taste. He tells her the job is part time with him needing pastry deliveries three times a week. She explains she lives in Monteverde but has no problem coming to town as many times a week as he needs her to. He is surely going to enjoy that!

Cárcamo asks Doris if he can use her bus so they can all go to his bachelor party in Zacatillo together. She answers as long as he doesn't steal it like last time. He can have it but she wants it back in the same condition she is giving him it in. He agrees to return it washed and with a full tank.

Lucía agrees to seeing Diego at 11:00 the next day. She tells him about the communication difficulties in Monteverde. He says the town seems to be frozen in time. She thinks it has its charm. Relationships are much more personal, everyone knows each other, nobody is stuck on their phones and there is a real cool sense of solidarity. He has to admit she is right that with so much technology people do not really spend time with each other. He shakes her hand as they say goodbye and they both hold each other's hands a bit too long.

Padilla is poorly prepared to direct a writing workshop. He has no real ideas because he knows nothing about writing. He lies and tells them he wrote a book called "The Fox's Tale". It is about women who dedicate themselves to collecting fox pelts. The women want to know what happened. He vaguely answers so many things that he cannot tell them all right now. He is asked in term of AUTHORS, what is his favorite book? Yes, he answers the Bible. The women try to support this curious choice.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 2

Julieta has come by Manuel's for some of their (now legendary?) tuna croquets.

Eva tells Julieta that it might be comfortable for her staying at Oscar's but must be VERY uncomfortable for Franco when she and Franco are nothing to each other. Julieta asks her what business is it of hers after having abandoned her son for twenty something years. Now that she has come to know her, the best thing she could have done was to leave him. When confronted by Franco, Julieta tries all kinds of lies to justify what she said but thy all fall flat. Julieta keeps wanting to talk to him alone but he smartly refuses.

Eva celebrates with Manuel with a tequila, coffee will not do.

Doris wonders what was in the sandwiches as Padilla is taking up residence in the washroom. It was just the normal: mustard, mayo ham, cheese, chiles.

Rosalía thinks that fate must have sent Lucía Diego to make up for everything she has had to suffer through.

Franco informs Julieta that if she is staying at his father's house, it is only to make her more comfortable, nothing else. She shouldn't misinterpret things.

Gloria has decided to get rid of loads of kitchen utensils that she considers worthless. She has made a list of what they need to buy. Juan David tells her they don't have any money for that. Gloria knows that but cannot accept cooking in frying pans where the Teflon is all worn off. She offers to buy what is needed if money is a problem. Dutiful (and, may I say, tiresome!!)Angelina thanks her mother as Juan David fumes and leaves to see his uncle.

Julieta tells Franco he has no idea how rude and offensive his mother has been to her. Franco reminds her that before long she will be able to go back to Peru. She turns that back on him saying she knows he cannot wait to get rid of her. Sh e knows he doesn't want her in Monteverde. He reminds her she was the one who decided to go home to Peru. *She is upset that he cannot spend any time with her whatever. All of that solitude and pain is affecting their child! He agrees to come and see her more often* but now he has to go to Cárcamo's bachelor party. She cannot believe he would go to an employee's party. He makes it clear that everyone who works at the ranch are like family to him so she had better not make any derogatory remarks about them. He will see her later.

The good father tells Juan David he needs to distract himself. He needs to go to Cárcamo's party and leave tomorrow in God's hands.
 

MONTEVERDE Extras parte 3

Franco tells Lucas he is late because of Julieta. She was complaining that she is all alone and she is right! Nobody likes her here and he doesn't feel like being with her either. An animated Lucas advises Franco to be careful. Doesn't he know that Julieta only wants to rope him in? *Rosalía asks him why it is bothering HIM so much?. He answers that he hates seeing her trying to control Franco like this. Things are only going to get worse the longer she is at his father's house.* Rosalía knows that Julieta is unbearable but agrees to sacrifice herself and go and look in on her that evening.

Standing by an open window, Manuel asks Hugo for the truth about the destruction at the school. Did he have something to do with it? Hugo says in a way and then admits that he did but Sister Celeste is to blame for it all. Juanita told him that Sister Celeste didn't want the school to open. So, he decided to tell Manzanita to do something so the school's opening would be delayed but then he went overboard and destroyed it all. Juanita and Sister Celeste know nothing about it. Oscar is really bothered that Sister Celeste didn't want the school to open. He is so disappointed. It is illogical. Hugo apologizes knowing he messed things up badly. Oscar is in no mood to forgive because he *lied to him.*

Hugo fills Juanita in on exactly what he told Oscar which was short of the whole truth. He had no choice.

Carolina tells to Oscar that she did say something like not wanting the school to open that to Juanita. She admits that she is feeling fearful that when she is no longer a nun things, will be different between them. He insists that will change nothing. He will love her the same as he always has. She insists that she will not be the same woman so will he love her then? He makes it clear that he would have preferred for her to come to him with her doubts. She felt between a wall and hard place. He cannot take that she has not been clear with him and did things behind his back.

The good father tells Gloria and Angelina that the next day an insect extermination service is gong to come by to inspect the house. There seems to be an infestation of dwarf cockroaches in town. Angelina takes it all in stride while Gloria starts to freak out. A worried Gloria says she hasn't seen any. A smiling good father says, they only come out at night! The problem is that cockroaches carry a lot of different bacteria that can cause illness. The smiling good father adds that cockroaches have always been a problem in Monteverde.

Rosalía soon realizes that there was no reason to try to be nice to Julieta.She is all alone because nobody can stand her.

Yes, Moisés spills the beans and tells Rosalía that his father and he hate when people lie. He saw Lucas and Julieta fighting like novios and when he asked her about it, she want crazy.

Juan David finds out that the poster is for a special show the bar has on Tuesdays. It is is only for the ladies. . .
 

MONTEVERDE Parte 4

Lucía tells Rosalía that she doesn't want to hear anything about Franco anymore. it is enough for her not knowing shat is going to happen with her and Franco. Rosalía apologizes reminding her about the new guy at the hotel. Lucía reminds her that she barely knows him.

Oscar feels bad that Carolina didn't tell him that she was having doubts and that he would have understood. Instead, she did everything behind his back. She is sorry things went the way they did. He admits that maybe the love she feels for him isn't strong enough to renounce what she has been for her whole life. He further admits to having been very unfair to her. He has pressured her. He has wanted her to leave an essential and fundamental part of herself behind. That is not right. He loves her with his whole being but now he realizes that her love for her vocation is a lot stronger than the love she has for him. He accepts that and understands that although it hurts his soul. So, the best and for both of them is to let things end as they are. He wants her to be at peace and it is clear she won't find that at his side.
 

Papas #55 part 1

The actuary is just there to inform Uli that he’s been denounced. The legal action depends on proof. Aide enters and thanks him, they’ll be getting a lawyer. When he leaves Aide informs Uli rhat she and Tino know he was suspended from school.

Melina doesn’t want to discuss this on the street. She’ll get him his money. He repeats his threat if she doesn’t. They are around the corner from Aide’s and Gisela just missed seeing Hernan, it seemed like she felt his presence.

Íker doesn’t know what’s going on, but comforts Scarlet.

Chofis is talking with Poncho about his STD being on social media. He needs to tell Serena before she finds out on social media. She comes along, he tells her he’s not in school because his stomach hurts.

Uli wonders if his mom has confidence in him. She does, but doesn’t understand why he would record something so intimate. Especially after Guzman. He asks if they knew he killed himself. They did, they didn’t tell him because they thought it would be too upsetting for him. She suggests therepy. Tino gets a text from Aide telling him Uli was denounced. He calls Uli.

Facundo is worried about Scarlet. He texts Aide, who texts back immediately. He tells her he’s hid but Scarlet saw him. Aide says Scarlet knows he’s been out a year and wants to see him. She’s grown up and not the child she was. Aide remembers seeing Facundo in jail and explaining how hard is is for Scarlet to come.He understands, she’s an adolescent. As she leaves the jail Aurelio speaks to her about identification. They don’t seem to know each other. But she sees Lichita going into the jail and calls to her. Now, she tells Facundo he needs to see Scarlet as soon as possible. He has something delicate to say first. He thinks back to Lichita telling him Aide saw her enter the jail. She’s going to look for another job before he gets out. He feels he’s serving his time and he has a right to live his life when he gets out. And love who he loves. He wants to see Scarlet. Lichita will help him.

Toño talks to Uli. He hates he’s far away now, but they can talk. Uli tells him he knows Guzman killed himself, he remembers when he had those thoughts. Tino also suggests therepy.

Although I ate a lot of tuna cassaroles as a child, hot tuna is something I carefully avoid as an adult but to each her own! 😊

So Oscar's eyes have been opened. Somewhat...In retrospect, Hugo deserves the lion's share of the blame for what was a terrible idea to begin with, exacerbated by the extent and ferocity of the destruction.

Although Oscar is overly judgemental, I have to admit that his hurt feelings and his rationale are understandable. Coming to the conclusion that Carolina's vocation means more to her than he seemed inevitable.

"Eva tells Julieta that it might be comfortable for her staying at Oscar's but must be VERY uncomfortable for Franco when she and Franco are nothing to each other". Ordinarily, I would murmur "ouch" and grimace although every word is true. Julieta shows her cruel, manipulative nature by falsely mewling "All of that solitude and pain is affecting their child!" What a conniver.

"Rosalía thinks that fate must have sent Lucía Diego to make up for everything she has had to suffer through". I agree! He/Carlos Gattica are charming with a beautiful smile to boot.

I hadn't realized Cárcamo asked Doris to borrow the bus! Now the question is will it return in one piece?!

So what should/will Carolina do now? Carolina might sit down and tell Oscar the entire truth. But can he handle the truth?? Will she go along until such time as Carlos returns and all is revealed? Is it better to rip the bandage of lies off in one fell swoop or is it better to remove some of it in bits and pieces? Telling him everything may push him over the edge although his unforgiving nature is a force to be reckoned with no matter how she does it. I feel for her and it will be interesting to see what she does.

The judge says the denouncement of Nazario complicates things. She says Clara Luz and Rudolf can be alone with the children, and the children cannot be involved in any musical activities. Nazario questions and argues several times. The judge wonders why he thinks he knows her job. Natalie is still a different custody hearing.

Yeno texts Chofis about the things on social media. When Poncho comes home she hugs him and tells him she learned about his problem on social media.

Cheno and
Serena are talking at the gym. She’s down, he tries to cheer her. She says he thinks sex solves everything. She mentions Melina and her wanting to keep her followers interested.

Nazario is arguing with the judge. He’s doing the music with the twins because he loves them. The judge says consequences will be servers if he disobeys the court. Prisma tries to speak to him and he almost growls at her and the lawyer.

Lila is showing Chofis what to do at the cafeteria. Circe is excited they’re all working together. Uli comes in happy to see the, together. He tells them he’s been denounced. Talking to Chofis, he talks about the lawyer. It seems he’s worried about other videos!

Checo sits down in the restaurant. Circe goes to take his order. They act like they don’t know each other, and introduce themselves.

Scarlet thanks Íker for comforting her. Emi comes to tell her Aurelio is waiting. He tells Íker everything in their life’s went bad when he came along. Scarlet tells him it’s not true, Emi’s in a bad mood and wants to bring everyone down.

Circe brings Checo cookies with his coffee. He wants to know about Edith. Circe says she didn’t handle it well but she doesn’t like woman. Checo says he’s going back to Canada. Circe tells him he’s running from his problems. He wonders who,she’ll love tomorrow.

Uli tells Chofis that his plan is to live with his dad so he can investigate Melina up close. He asks for the letter.

Melina sends Hernan a location to meet. Then she speaks to Serena and praises Peisma’s work. She asks Serena to look at the screen with her.

Nazario is at the studio and grabs the guy that was recording threatening him for denouncing him. He thinks he should have but he didn’t. He points out the wife was there too. Nazario gets a scary look.

The twins are excited to have Clara Luz and Rudolf home. They wonder if their parents know. Yes, they can now see them. The kids are excited that they all may be together again. When they leave the room Rudolf wonders if they can have a grand romance. Clara Luz thinks they can. She gets a text from Martin. Rudolf asks, she says it’s about work. He tells her to answer it.

Prisma is worried Serena will lose her authenticity with Melina’s new plan. Melina says they’ll compromise. Melina leaves and Nazario ends the meeting. Serena seems to want Prisma to,say something to Nazario. They’re oth doing hand signals behind his back.

Melina is in the house, Fisela wonders why. She’s going to tell Gisela something that will restore her faith in Melina.

Tino, checking out his body, gets a text from Facundo. He wants to speak to him without Aide. Tino thinks Aide should be there but Facundo says it’s sensitive . Tino agrees, but Facundo wants it to be in person. He’ll wait until Tino’s back. Facundo then thinks about a large prisoner who brought him to Chacal. He needs to pay money for protection. Facundo says he has no money. They seem to reach an agreement.

At home, Prisma thanks Nazario for not losing his temper at her when she disagreed with him. He asks if she denounced him. He drags her to the bedroom to teach her to obey him.

Hernan is waiting on a bench when Melina comes in view. But Fisela approaches from the other side, yelling at him. Melina hides behind a tree.

Also, will cockroaches be found and if so, will Gloria leave? If only . . . Whatever happens, it was a nice PSA for getting rid of those pests.
