Missing Recap 29: Alicia's Palace of Lies
Again with the big prezzie for Marta. She gets all teary and opens it. It's just a bunch of paper, then a card, which daughter reads and everyone else gets all teary. The family hugs. Turns out Paco has just given her 10,000 pesos that he's been saving up forever so she can buy herself a car. Alicia gets off the elevator and hears what's going on. The cuartel all congratulate Marta on her soon-to-be new car.
Fernando and Marcia are at her crib eating. Fernando says he thinks Alicia's just trying to trap Omar with a lie. Marcia tells him no, she's really bun-baking, she tested positive. He's shocked. Ariel calls Marcia and she tells him that Humberto and Teresita will be coming to the big BL Launch Party. He makes a crack about Alicia and Marcia sticks up for her. Meanwhile, Omar calls Fernando on his cell phone and Fern tells him that Marcia confirmed that the preggo test was positive. Marcia's still talking to Ariel and wants to know why he's so interested in Alicia's pregnancy (here's a quarter, buy a clue Marcia!) He gives some lame excuse and they hang up, and we see a shot of him being upset. Fernando asks her who she was talking to, and she tells him Ariel about the meeting. She asks him who he was talking to, and he tells her Omar about Alicia. They discuss it and Fern's still skeptical, pointing out that she's having financial trouble and how well this works out for her.
Meanwhile, at Alicia's Palace of Lies, she's throwing away the dresses that Marta copied. The doorman announces that Ariel's coming up, and she powders up her face to make herself look pale. When he gets there, she acts good and sick. He gives her hell and she tells him it's her problem, not his. He denies the child is his and she tells him she doesn't want anything from him. He tells her he doesn't believe her, but says fine, he'll take care of her but she has to move to another country, she can't stay here. She asks where, Miami? He says no. She asks Rio de Janeiro? He says no, it has to be a totally different continent. She says Paris! London! Madrid? He says no, some place like Sidney or Pretoria. She says she doesn't want to go to someplace like Africa or Australia or Korea. He says too bad, that's my offer, and leaves.
Back at home, Lety talks to Tomas about Alicia. He says he wants to meet her and Lety teases him about what the meeting would be like. She asks if he'd really take Alicia's child as his, and he says yes. She then shows him the new loan documents and Tomas again tells her that Conceptos is practically in her hands (ok, he says this every darned time! Isn't the company in her hands by now??). He asks her why they had to do the new loan and she tells him Fern had to do it to cover their losses from the Panama caper. They discuss the embargo more, and while she talks we get a shot of a shirtless Fernando (woo hoo!!!!!) unable to sleep. She's saying that Fernando's worried and preoccupied (as well he should be). Fernando remembers when daddy turned the empire over to him. He gets up, puts a shirt on (darn it!) and sits on the sofa still reminiscing, wondering how he can tell his dad what's going on. Marcia joins him wanting to know what the problem is but he tells her it's nothing. She guesses it's Conceptos and tells him the Bella Life stuff will be fine, and gets him back to bed. He goes back to remembering his dad turning over the company and Ariel's threat. He says to himself no Ariel, you'll never be president.
Next day, Saimon and Celso are looking at Fernando's fixed car, and Saimon is once again thanking his lucky stars he didn't get busted for that. Jazmin comes up, pouts and walks away. Fernando comes up and discusses the car with Saimon. Marcia comes up and says car looks good dude.
In reception, the cuartel are discussing the car Marta will get. Fernando walks in and asks if they all shouldn't be working and they agree (hah!), but when he leaves they just continue talking. Saimon joins them and they discuss the car more. Irma tells them they all need to get to work (hah again!), but of course they don't. Alicia comes in and orders Saimon to go get her car and mentions how expensive it is, just to give Marta crap because 10,000 pesos isn't going to get much metal. The cuartel give her the usual garbage.
Fernando and Marcia talk about the launch and the meeting. Fernando wants Lety there, Marcia doesn't. Fern points out that Lety knows about negotiations, contracts, etc., and therefore should be there. Marcia turns harpy. Fernando points out that Alicia's late for work just when, speak of the devil, she gets off the elevator. She hears his comment and starts walking with her back swayed and stuff like she's already 9 months gone. He ain't buying and gives her grief, but she says she was sick. He's still climbing her back, but Marcia pulls him off and tries to get him to stop. He makes a joke and Alicia's expense and Marcia laughs, then asks him again to stop. He leaves and she tells Alicia they need to talk.
Fernando calls for Lety and they discuss how they're going to be meeting with someone to discuss the camera equipment. She tells him that Isabella is there, and he gets excited and has her smell him to make sure his cologne is ok. She likee muchee and follows him all dreamily as he heads out to hit on his own sister. Ooops, I mean the famous model.
Marcia tells Alicia that Omar called Fernando in the middle of the night, upset by the pregnancy. Alicia wonders if that means Omar wants to commit himself to her. Marcia says only in your dreams babe.
Omar comes into the office with his tail dragging. Fernando and Lety run into him and Fern the ever-sympathetic teases him and Lety laughs. Then Fernando manages to cheer Omar up by telling him Isabella's there and they get on the elevator as Saimon gets off it.
Saimon dances by Alicia and she calls him over and gives him money. The phone rings and it's the Little Mermaid. He tells her he's set it all up so she can go and live in Jakarta, Indonesia. He tells her he has a friend there who will give her a job, and she hangs up on him. Saimon dances by again but she ignores him and the ringing phone, thinking about how pissed she is by Ariel's offer. Saimon leaves and she answers the phone and tells Ariel No! He tells her it's this or nothing and she flat out refuses, she wants someplace nicer. Also, she doesn't want to work, he has to take care of her. She hangs up on him again. His secretary comes in to tell him something, but instead he sees Alicia come in with a baby that she introduces as his son. He says it's not his and tells her to leave, but she stays and calls him papa. The secretary and the people she brought in are in his office looking at him when he finally steps out of his fantasy.
Meanwhile, Omar is in his office having his own fantasy moment. He's in bed with Alicia when a baby starts crying. She orders him to take care of it but the baby won't stop crying. She laughs maniacally and he freaks. Sara walks in and wakes him up from his fantasy. She tells him there's a meeting and asks if he's ok, and he asks her to send Alicia in. She does so, but only after giving Alicia crap first. She, Lola, and Marta then head into the bathroom, Marta carrying a bag. Marta makes a big show of the bag to Alicia.
Alicia goes into Omar's office and he says they need to talk. She asks if that means he's ready to accept paternity of his son. He tells her he's not ready to be a father and she reminds him that she hasn't asked anything from him. She plays the guilt card and says she'll just be an unmarried mother. She says something about Paula Maria and says hey, it's my problem, don't worry about it.
Fern and Lety meet with Jackie Palacias (?), the manager of Rodaje.com. She's a pretty woman (hey, isn't this the lady from Yo Amo Juan Querendon?) and Ferni's flirting with her. She mentions the Benny Ibarra video disaster (no one wants to let that go, poor Fern!) and he schmoozes more, then they decide to get down to business.
Alicia tells Omar that she'll love her child no matter what and will raise him alone. Omar starts to say something but she cuts him off and lays it on thick, holding her stomach. She cries and leaves, saying she doesn't want to talk any more. Once outside his office, she dries her eyes and calls him desgraciado. Once again I'm siding with the devil here (Alicia) and worried about my soul, but really, shouldn't Omar have worried about not wanting to be a dad BEFORE he got busy with Alicia? Has no one ever told him about the birds and the bees? Anyway, Alicia heads back to her desk and walks by Marta, who's crouched down behind a desk laughing at her. She pops up and, of course, is in another knockoff. Alicia says go ahead and copy me, I'll always look better than you, and walks off. Marta's upset.
Fern and Lety are trying to convince Jackie to let Conceptos buy equipment from Rodaje.com on credit in return for a contract where they'll be committed to buy from them exclusively for the next five years. Jackie has one of her men in the meeting and he's very strange, the way he just stands hunched over and staring.
The cuartel try to cheer Marta up and discuss liposuction. They try to convince her to have it, and tell her once she does Alicia won't be able to insult her any more. Marta says she doesn't have the money, but they are insistent. Meanwhile, Paco's down in reception with roses and an envelope full of money that's supposed to be for her car, but you know where's it's gonna wind up going. In another meanwhile, Alicia's in the bathroom primping, telling herself she's glad she's not really pregnant because it would ruin her figure.
Marta and Paco go into the conference room to chat. He gives her the money and they get mushy and the cuartel, who are listening because there's no privacy anywhere in Conceptos, once again get teary. Marta hugs Paco and cries and he leaves, and the cuartel all congratulate her on having such a loving husband. PM continues to talk about the liposuction. Meanwhile, so I don't have to create another separate line, Lety and Fernando are still negotiating at Rodaje.
Luigi and Marcia walk into the lobby talking about Fernando. They see Saimon bring a plate of green apples (that must be what she gave him the money for earlier). Luigi wants one but Saimon tells him no, they're all for Alicia because she's pregnant. Luigi freaks and guesses it's Omar's. He calls him an imbecile and how could she! She tells him well, I was in love. He says ok fine, but is Omar going to accept responsibility? She sadly shakes her head no. Just then Omar walks by and Luigi grabs him and gives him grief about Alicia and the baby. Omar manages to get away.
The cuartel are still trying to convince Marta about the surgery. She doesn't really want to do it but they keep pushing.
Fernando and Lety walk into reception talking about how the negotiations went. They go upstairs and he talks about how sexy Jackie Palacias is just as Marcia comes up. She tells him Bella Life wants Conceptos to organize the event to announce the launching of their campaign. Marcia walks away to talk to Alicia and Lety points out to Fern that if Rodaje.com doesn't provide them with the equipment, there won't be a campaign to promote.
Missing Recap 30: Apples and hot sauce
The cuartel try to convince Marta again, Fern and Lety talk about the negotiations again, Marcia tells Fern about Bella Life again, and Lety points out the obvious again.
Marcia comes back and wants to know what Fernando and Lety have been up to, Fern tells her nothing. She tells them the production meetings have been going well and they want to start filming and when will the equipment get there? He makes up something and promises Luigi will be happy with what they got. They kiss and Lety makes a jealous face (Fern's not in love with you yet Lety, you don't have a right to be jealous of him kissing his fiancée).
Lety tells him she's being trying to contact Carolina Angeles but she refuses to accept any of Fernando's calls. Fern tells her to try again. In Carolina's office, the secretary answers the phone and when she tells Caro it's Fernando calling, Caro again refuses to take the call. Lety tells Fern, and he's not happy. He says he'll go down there personally to talk to her, calling Omar to join him. As he leaves he runs into Lola, who says she needs to talk to Lety. She tells Lety there's a code red meeting in the bathroom. Lety has a lot of work to do but goes ahead and goes to the meeting anyway because naturally gossip and other crap are much more important than actually working to earn that paycheck.
Fernando sees Alicia eating an apple with hot sauce (sounds good to me) and makes fun of her and gives one her apples to a kid that's sitting there in the lobby (not one of the cuartel's kids, for a change). Omar comes by and Fernando teases him about the pregnancy, gives him one of Alicia's apples, and calls him Papa as Omar hears a baby cry in his head. Fernando then gives both Omar and Alicia crap. Just then Jazmin and two models walk out of the elevator and start crawling all over Omar, who's enjoying it, you can tell by all the snorting he's doing. Alicia's watching it all, still eating her apples and hot sauce (damn, that sounds good! Am I preggers? No, I just love hot sauce). Luigi comes in and makes the models leave. Fernando teases Alicia about "THIS is the papa? Sucks to be you!" Fern and Omar leave as Fern cries like a baby.
The cuartel head to their meeting room, laughing. Sara whips out some shoes for everyone, I think I mentioned earlier this was another evil anti-Alicia plot. Everyone pays her, then the liposuction gets mentioned. Irma gets mad and tells them they shouldn't be trying to get Marta to waste her money on this since the only reason she wants it is so Alicia won't make fun of her any more, and the money's supposed to be for a car. The rest are still trying to convince Marta that liposuction is the way to go.
Fern and Omar get to Carolina's office and start teasing the secretary. She tells them Caro's in a meeting, so they say they'll wait for her and start being obnoxious in front of the other clients sitting there. I'm not sure how they think being obnoxious is going to help, but this is telenovela world after all and they do make a good comedy duo, not to mention an excellent sandwich, though I'd make a much better filling than Lety!
The cuartel are still trying to convince Marta, I don't care and fast forward.
Alicia goes into Lety's office looking for her, but of course she's not there. The phone rings and Alicia answers it, it's Jacqueline Palacias. Alicia says she'll take a message.
Back to the big important cuartel meeting, the feas ask Lety for her opinion about Marta getting lipo'd and she replies that she never thinks about such things because she doesn't like artificial things. She says if someone falls in love with you it should be for who you are, not some prefabricated body. PM asks her if superficial beauty is so bad if it helps make men fall in love with a fea. Sarah asks Lety if she'd have the surgery if she had the money. "Imagine if Tomas saw you transformed" she says. Lety begins to daydream about how Fern would react if Lety became beautiful. From her point of view we see her go into Fern's office, and he's shocked (happily) at how she looks. Marcia comes in and doesn't realize at first that it's Lety and is jealous of the new woman Fernando's got in his office. He tells her relax, it's just Lety, and Marcia is shocked. Alicia comes in and it practically takes a pry bar to levy her jaw off the floor and back into place she's so shocked by Lety's new look. Marcia tries to talk to Fernando but he's ignoring her, busy staring at Lety. PM wakes her out of her fantasy as Alicia comes in, gives her crap for being there instead of her office, and tells her about Jackie's phone call. She gives the rest of the cuartel crap as always, and especially picks on Marta calling her fat. Alicia leaves, laughing, making Marta decide on the lipo. Lety says she has to leave.
Marcia asks Alicia what's going on and Alicia whines about how Lety wasn't in her office and poor Alicia actually had to answer her phone. She tells Marcia it was Jacqueline Palacias and Marcia gets all thoughtful, remembering how she heard Fernando call her guapa. She asks where Fernando is, and Alicia tells her he's at Carolina's office.
Carolina comes out and Fern and Omar do all kinds of stupid tricks to try to convince her to work with them again. They sing (apparently a song by Jose Jose called The Desperate), beg, and have a pillow fight with the pillows from her waiting room sofa. They make her paper flowers, which she throws away. She tells Fern that when Conceptos got discredited, she did too.
The cuartel and Marta are still going on about the lipo and she acts sexy, happy with the idea of how she'll look once it's done. Sorry, once again I am forced to fast forward through this exchange.
Omar and Fernando are still begging and tell Carolina about the Bella Life commercials and how much the contract is for and how important it is. She gets an O/F sandwich and now I have to be jealous of both her and Lety, but then Omar snorts and I think "never mind". Eventually, after some hand kissing and other stuff, she gives in to their begging and agrees to work with Conceptos again, but she'll only work with Luigi and Marcia, she won't work with Fern and Omar. They agree.
More fast forwarding by me as the cuartel are STILL discussing liposuction. Fern and Omar walk by and they scurry back to their desks like little non-working vermin when a light gets turned on.
Fern calls to Lety and she tells him that Jackie called and has agreed to their terms. Fern's very happy and moves in for a hug. She gladly throws her arms wide open, but he brushes past her and hugs Omar, and Lety's not so pleased. Fernando says he's happy because they got both Rodaje.com and Carolina. Lety gets loud happy and Fernando tells her to calm down, then Omar also gets loud happy and she tells him to calm down.
Jackie and her incredibly odd henchman (henceforth known as IOH) come into reception. Saimon begins to drool over her and dance around her because he's popping WAY too many speed pills and can't sit still. He leads them upstairs as PM calls Lety to let her know they're there. They run into Alicia and Saimon introduces them to her and turns them over to her. She rudely makes them wait as she goes and announces them while the cuartel wonder why she's there and who the guy is. Lety tells Alicia to take the guests to the conference room and naturally Alicia gets all indignant that Lety is giving her orders. Fernando asks if the pregnancy is affecting her hearing and repeats Lety's order to take them to the conference room. She tells him to stop yelling at her because it upsets her son, as she clutches her still-flat stomach. Fernando probably rolls his eyes with disgust, but if he does I miss it because I'm doing the same. She leaves and Fernando teases Omar about her. Omar snaps back with a smart comment about Fernando and Lety. Lety looks hopeful, but Fernando just looks at her for a minute, then bursts out laughing. She's hurt but pretends to laugh as well. (Now in the recap comments people always give Marcia hell for clinging to Fernando when he didn't love her, but at this point one has to wonder why Lety continued to cling to Fernando after a comment like that. But anyroad...).
I guess Alicia assumes there's some kind of hanky panky going on with Fern and Jackie because she's incredibly rude when she leads them to the conference room. Lopez comes up and sees Jackie and lick/squeaks his head in lust. Marta asks to talk to him, but he'd rather swoon over Jackie, but Marta convinces him and they go to his office.
In the conference room, Omar is flirting with Jackie while IOH stand around staring weirdly (after nearly removing Fernando's arm shaking his hand). Fernando clears his throat at Omar and Omar hears the sound of a baby crying in his head. Everyone sits and Jackie says they accept Conceptos' proposal. IOH pulls a contract out of his briefcase and gives it to Fern, who tosses it to Lety to read.
Marta asks Lopez for some vacation time to have the liposuction. At first Lopez just laughs and wants to know who will do her work. She tells him Lola and Sara have agreed to help out. He then decides that with a few less pounds Marta might not look too bad, so he grants his permission.
Alicia gossips to Marcia that Fernando is in the boardroom with Jacqueline Palaces. Luigi comes up and complains that he still doesn't have his cameras and Marcia says she'll talk to Fernando about it.
Lety tells Fernando the contract's good and gets right up in his face as he's trying to sign up. Once again he has to ask her to step back and give him some space. Jackie and IOH get up to leave and Fern kisses her cheek just as (of course) Marcia and Luigi come in. Fernando introduces everyone and Luigi tries to make a joke with IOH, but he just stands there staring like a zombie, freaking Luigi out. Fernando tells them about the negotiations for the cameras and Luigi's happy. Jackie, IOH and Luigi leave and Marcia gives Fernando crap about the new lady. Fern asks if she's jealous and she says yes, and Fern tells her don't be, it's just negotiations. He tries to kiss her but she tells him he smells (I guess like Jackie's perfume?) and stalks off. Fernando, Lety and Omar go back to Fern's office. Fern tells Lety that even though the company is getting better, the embargo with Filmo Imagen has to continue.
Next day Lety goes to the bank to ask for a loan of one million eight hundred thousand pesos in the name of F.I. The manager tells her that exceeds the amount of the company's capital, but Lety shows him the letter from Fernando guaranteeing the loan based on the total value of Conceptos. The banker still looks unsure and Lety gives him a begging look. Back at work, she comes in and tells Fernando they got the loan. Fernando's happy that they can now proceed with the commercial, and says Luigi's happy with the camera they chose. Lety reminds Fern that Conceptos is now into F.I. for 2 million pesos and Fern tells her she's always a pessimist. He shakes her hand and thanks her for everything and leaves, and she Tan Divinos.
We get a montage of the work being done on the commercial while Lety voice-overs in case we miss anything.
Now it's a new day. Saimon and the cuartel are talking about Marta and Sara makes fun of Lopez. Alicia is at her desk and gets upset by one of her bills about her car. She shows it to Marcia while whining. Fernando overhears her as she works up a tear and describes the horrors of the microbus. Fernando makes fun of her as Omar tries to slip away, but Fernando pulls him back. Alicia pretends to be feeling faint and Marcia takes her to the ladies room. Fernando tells Omar he needs to take care of his future wife as Omar continues to deny the baby's his. They walk away, Fern teasing him the whole way like he's holding a baby. There's a funny comment when Omar brushes impatiently by Fernando and Fern tells him to be careful, they don't want the baby to fall on its head and end up like Ariel.
Back in the office, Lety's worrying about all the debt Conceptos has incurred with the banks and now Rodaje.com. Lety's also concerned that all this stuff is public information, someone could find out about it and there could be a big scandal. As always, he just tells her to calm down.
The rugrats are all at work again and everyone's wishing Jaimito happy birthday. PM asks her son what he wants as a present, and he tells her he wants Saimon to be his papa.
Missing Recap 31: Less of Martha to love
Fernando teases Omar again, Lety warns Fernando and is pessimistic again, and Jaimito wants to be Saimon's little bundle of joy again.
Fernando, Lety and Omar are chatting and Omar recommends a lawyer who can represent F.I. in the embargo process. Lety agrees to set up a meeting with the guy. Omar leaves.
Marcia helps Alicia back to her desk while she whines about her poor baby (poor for real I guess). Omar overhears their conversation and Marcia asks if he's ready for the upcoming meeting, he says he is and heads back to his own office. Carolina comes in and asks what's wrong with Alicia and Marcia tells her (after hearing Alicia complain about the cuartel sharing her deep dark secrets, here's Marcia also telling the whole world about it!). Caro is happy for her, then she and Marcia head to the conference room where Marcia can dish the real dirt on the whole sordid story. Omar comes up and gives Alicia a check. She tells him she doesn't want his money and he's only trying to assuage his own guilt for not making a commitment to her, but he says he's just trying to help her out. She tells him again she doesn't want it, he whines a little bit and leaves, leaving the check behind. As soon as he's not looking, Alicia gives her now famous smug little smile and kisses the check.
The choreographer is working with the dancers while Luigi watches and he's unhappy with how it looks. He's trying to get some work done, but Irma comes in and tells him he has to go to yet another meeting (you have no idea what's in store for you in the coming months meeting-wise, Luigi!). He whines but eventually heads out. Jazmin stops him and asks him to let her dance in the production, but he tells her she's not a good dancer and he only wants to use professional, experienced dancers.
Juana brings her niece in to join all the other kids in reception, and the mothers discuss what to do with them. I have some ideas but doubt they'd like them much...
Jazmin begs Irma to help her convince Luigi to allow her to dance in the Bella Life promotion, but Irma tells her not to bother her and don't even thing about trying to interfere with the production, because if she keeps bugging them, they'll let her go.
Saimon takes the little brat monsters, I'm sorry, I mean the adorably precocious children, to play in a warehouse where old costumes are kept, and you just KNOW total havoc will be wreaked. Juana's niece, turns out, follows in old Auntie's footsteps and has the gift of clairvoyance. The girl tells Saimon he has a big heart and is capable of loving many women, but right now he loves a woman that doesn't return the feeling.
Even though Sara and Lola are helping him, Lopez is lost without Marta. He's screeching, they're making fun of him, and Lola tells him Marta will be back tomorrow. Meanwhile, the kids are playing, dressed up in costumes and face paint and stuff, and the talented niece thinks she hears Lola yelling. She tells everyone about some herbs she's carrying around with her (signs of a possible future profession as drug pusher maybe?) and something about using them to calm Lola down.
In the meeting, Marcia tells everyone that Carolina will do the publicity for the B.L. Launch, and Caro tells when the invitations will be going out. Omar is dumb enough to ask Luigi how the preparations for the spectacular are going, and Luigi gets all offended and says he's working on it so of course it will be marvelous. Caro hands out the potential menu and mentions all the booze that's going to be there and it sounds like a helluva party woohoo!! Fernando's unhappy about the cost. He yells for Lety and Marcia makes a rude comment. Lety comes in, takes the menu and drink information from Caro, and leaves. Luigi whines that the studio is too small for his dancers to work in and he'd like to have them rehearse someplace larger and again Fern reminds him they have to keep costs down. Marcia says she's starting to worry that Fern is always talking about the budget.
Sara and Lola are talking when Irma comes in looking for Jazmin. As always Lola freaks at the slightest mention of the little family-destroying ho, so why Irma is dumb enough to tell her that Jaz is trying to convince Luigi to let her dance, I'll never know. Irma apparently has also had enough because she cuts her off.
Back at the meeting, Marcia still wants to know why Fern's so hung up on money. This give Carolina an idea on cost savings, and Fern thanks her, I guess because she's the only one supporting him when Marcia and Luigi aren't. Caro asks why Fernando doesn't have Lety in the meetings when they talk about budgets and Fern cuts right to the chase and tells her it's because Marcia and Luigi refuse to work with her. Lety comes in with information for Carolina and Marci, shamed by what Fernando said, asks Lety to stay.
Naturally the children make a complete disaster with the costumes and makeup they find. They also find bags of fake snow they can break open and get everywhere. Their parents come in and Lola orders them to remove the costumes and makeup and clean up. Naturally the kids don't listen and Saimon just joins in on their fun. Meanwhile, Marta comes into the office looking pretty trim, and she shows off to Alicia. The mothers are still yelling at their kids and PM is blaming Saimon. Sorry, I can't take it and I fast forward.
Sara, Juana and Irma ooh and aah over Marta's new svelte figure. Lola comes in and literally screams with happiness at seeing her. Lopez comes in and walks right by Marta, saying hello guapa. He stutters when he realizes it's her. He drools as he leads her to his office.
Back at the meeting they're still talking about the dancers. Lety makes a suggestion that Luigi doesn't like, but Fernando backs her up so Luigi agrees. Lety then asks to be excused, she has something important to take care of. She reminds Fernando that they have to meet with the bankers tomorrow. Marcia also reminds him that tomorrow Teresita and Humberto get in from London. He asks her to meet them at the airport because he has an important meeting.
Lety goes to her office and calls Tomas and asks him to go with her to talk to the lawyer that will be representing FI, and he agrees. Fernando, Omar and Carolina come into Fern's office and Fern yells for Lety. Caro gives him grief about the crappiness of Lety's office, but he tells her he tried to give her something nicer but she didn't want it. Lety comes out and, as always, gets just right into Fernando's face, and the way she stands at attention it looks like she's shoving her boobs at him. Once again he has to tell her to back off and give him some space. Carolina tells her goodbye and leaves, then Fern, Lety and Omar sit down for the usual rehash about the embargo and how Lety's still uncomfortable with it. Again he has to talk her into it, and she leaves. He and Omar then continue to chat about it.
At a restaurant, two lawyers are sitting and drinking, and Lety and Tomas greet them. They're they lawyers Omar recommended and they don't inspire Lety with much confidence, but she goes ahead and starts explaining about the embargo.
Back at Conceptos the kids are cleaning up and I really don't care about their conversation, more crap about how to calm Lola down. I'm recommending a bullet to the brain, but no one listens to me (her brain, I mean, though if I have keep listening to this storyline, I could mean mine as well).
Back to Lety and the lawyers, she's telling them that they need to avoid a scandal at all costs. They demand a ridiculously high fee and Lety and Tomas start to walk. The lawyers drop their price so they stay after all.
More kid stuff, Saimon comes to get them, yawn.
The choreographer is still working with the dancers. Jazmin is in the background mimicking their moves. Luigi's happy to see that Fatima Bosh, Fernando's former one-night-stand, is one of them. He tells the dancers they can all go home, then calls Jazmin over and tells her to stop hanging around and she leaves, upset.
The kids are rubbing herbs on Lola's legs while she sleeps. Jaz comes in and says crap, Lola gets mad, and I guess the old herb trick didn't work so well. Jaz leaves and Lola yells at the kids.
I guess to help Televisa pay some bills, we now have a commercial moment as Irma brings in some red apples while Luigi is trying to come up with a commercial for Garnier Nutrisse. The commercial has to do with one of their red dyes, so the apples give Luigi an idea: "the temptation of color".
Marcia, Fernando and Omar are leaving, Marcia giving Fern crap about Jackie Palacias the whole time, when Fatima comes in and plants a big fat wet one on his cheek right in front of her. She goes ballistic on him as Fatima leaves. Marta walks by and Marcia compliments her on her new slim bad self while Omar teases Fernando about Fatima. He mentions Fernando's ethics for giving him crap about PM when he himself was doing the nasty with the dancer. Fernando tells Omar there's no comparison between the two, and Omar quips back with a comment about Marcia. Omar's phone rings, it's a woman, so he walks away to take the call. Marcia and Fernando leave; Omar continues to chat with his little chippy, snorting all over the place, and suddenly he realizes Alicia's listening. He gets a guilty look on his face.
PM and Saimon are arguing in reception when Jaz comes in all bummed because Luigi won't let her dance. Saimon sympathizes and drools and PM gets jealously pissed. She tries to get Saimon away from the skank homewrecker but he won't leave her and they head out together as PM builds up steam. The kids all come in making a ton of racket.
Up in the lobby, Marta again poses in front of Alicia, and Alicia lets fly the usual insults, but this time Marta isn't bothered by them. She talks to Irma and Sara as they're all leaving, and tells them she doesn't know how to tell her husband what she spent the car money on. They go down to the lobby and join everyone else and discuss Saimon and Jazmin. Lola gets her usual freak on, and Irma advises her that if she wants Cheque to come back to her, she needs to calm down (I jump up with a resounding Here Here on that!!!) and stop fighting with him. Finally everyone leaves.
Meanwhile Lety and Tomas are still talking to the lawyers at the restaurant. The lawyers are questioning why the embargo was necessary and tell her Fernando was crazy to create it. Lety's eye twitches.
Missing Recap 32: Lien on Conceptos when feeling loanly
The cuartel again, ugh! The lawyers again ask questions about the embargo and she twitches again. Tomas reminds them that there can't be any scandal.
Fernando and Marcia discuss his parents coming in. She asks him what's up with meeting at the bank, and he just drinks. She asks him again and he gives her some lame excuse.
Discussing the embargo, one of the lawyers tells Lety that Fernando is either crazy or an imbecile to put his company in her hands like this. Since they just dissed her Tan Divino, she jumps to his defense and tells them she respects Fernando and his judgment. The lawyers ask for an increase in their fee due to the secret nature of the deal, which shocks Lety and Tomas, and they want an advance so they can pay the restaurant bill as they have no money. Tomas pays them and he and Lety leave.
Jazmin and Saimon are eating and Jaz is whining about Luigi. Saimon calms her down and offers to speak to Luigi for her. Jaz tells him it would be better to talk to Fernando, the president, and Saimon agrees to do it. She talks to Cheque on the phone while Saimon flirts with girls at another table, then she tells him she has to leave. She kisses his cheek and he swoons.
Tomas and Lety discuss their meeting and she stresses again that she's not happy with Omar's recommendation. Tomas again chats with her about technically being the true owner of Conceptos. Meanwhile, we get a shot of Fernando still unable to sleep, upset by everything that's happening with the company.
The next day Marta's going to a gym to get info on joining it, and the cuartel are with her. They see Alicia there exercising and realize she can't be pregnant. They discuss ad nauseam.
The lawyer, Sanchez, is once again meeting with Lety and Tomas. Lety asks Tomas to go with the lawyers when they create the embargo, and leaves. The lawyers tell Tomas they have to go to Conceptos to do an inventory as part of the embargo process. Tomas is worried about the problems this might cause.
Back at the gym, Alicia's getting reamed by her trainer because her check bounced. She promises to pay tomorrow. The cuartel go and talk to him and tell him they work with her so he feels free to dish the dirt on her to them.
Back at Conceptos, Alicia's crying and Marcia sees her and asks what's wrong. Alicia tells her about what happened and Marcia tells her she shouldn't be going to the gym while she's pregnant. Alicia realizes her boo boo and gives Marcia some fake excuse. Marcia then wants to know where the frapping hell the cuartel is. Ok, she didn't use those exact words, my bad.
Speak of the devils, they wander into reception still talking about what they just discovered. Sara wants to warn Omar but Juana says first they have to get proof and they discuss how to go about that. Saimon comes in and Lola freaks on him, blah blah blah. He and PM exchange barbs as Jaz comes in and flirts with him.
The cuartel finally show up in the lobby and Alicia goes all harpy on them and the usual crap flies. I ignore the rest of the conversation. Saimon and Jazmin come dancing in and continue to flirt with each other. Omar comes in and Alicia pointedly asks Saimon to get her some chocolates she's been craving because of the pregnancy. He goes to get them and the cuartel all laugh as Omar walks on. Jaz gives Lola crap and the cuartel once again have to hold her back as Jaz leaves. Again, yawn.
Lety comes in and apologizes to Fern for being late, telling him she was meeting with the lawyers. They discuss that this information is available to the public and she shows him where it can be found on the internet. He's not happy, but says something along the lines of hopefully no one will see it.
Tomas is still with Sanchez, who hands him copies of the embargo paperwork. He once again hits Tomas up for a fee hike and Tomas is impactada.
Marta comes up with an idea for a way to force Alicia to get a blood test and tells the cuartel about it.
Tomas and the lawyer are still discussing the embargo and his fee. Tomas starts to leave, but the lawyer asks for another advance. Tomas says Lety will kill him, but goes ahead and gives the guy money anyway.
Lety's on the phone trying to get more information about exactly what will be available on the internet, just what's registered with the Publico or the bank information as well? Fernando's listening. She hangs up and Tomas calls and she tells Fern it's the embargo lawyer.
Marta tells Lopez that because Alicia joined the company as Marcia's friend, she never had to provide the tests that are required by the company. She says he should order those tests to avoid any problems for Conceptos, though her real reason is so the order will come from him. He wants Marta to tell Alicia the news, but she explains to him that they don't get along, so he says he'll do it. He ogles her as she leaves, telling her she looks good and she wiggles her butt at him.
Tomas tells Lety the lawyer wants another advance and she's not happy about the amount. He also asks for permission to buy a cell phone and mentions that FI is continuing to make gains on their investments. Fernando's still listening to her conversation. At Lety's house, Mom lights a candle at the alter and prays for Lety. Just then Lety calls and they talk mushy mother/daughter stuff. For some reason both are whining and crying, then Lety hangs up.
Marta tells Sara and Lola that Lopez agreed about the tests and the results will have to pass through her hands. Omar walks by looking really bad and they feel sorry for him. To play devil's advocate, it was Omar who first took advantage of a drunk Alicia, so it's hard for me to work up any sympathy if she's now taking advantage of him. Sometimes you play, you pay, pal. Anyway, in Ariel's office, he and his secretary have a conversation about public information.
Fernando and Omar talk, rehashing about all their loans. Omar tells Fern that he's worried that Ariel might find out about Conceptos's problems from the internet or from public registries, while in his office Ariel and his secretary continue to discuss the same topic. Marcia calls him and tells him about Teresita and Humberto coming in and he mentions that he'll stop by to see them later on.
He then calls Alicia and she puts him on hold while talking to Lopez, who's telling her about the blood test requirement. She doesn't want to have it, but he doesn't give her a choice. They argue while the cuartel smirk. Marcia walks by and Alicia tries to get her help, but Marcia tells her if it's required then she's just gonna have to do it. Alicia then tries to get lunch out of her, but Marcia tells her she has to go to the airport to meet Fern's parents.
Marcia goes into Fernando's office where he's talking to Omar. He ignores her at first and she wants to know what's wrong. While Lety listens, he makes up some phony excuse and she leaves. He worries about his parents and Omar tells him not to say anything to them about what's been going on. Fern calls for Lety just as the phone rings. She comes out and tells him Tomas is downstairs and he tells her she can go. Omar wants to know who Tomas is, and Fern tells him he's a friend of Lety's who's working for Filmo Imagen. Omar's not very happy to hear this, but Fern tells him don't worry, Tomas knows nothing about the embargo. Meanwhile Lety and Tomas are discussing that very subject downstairs. Tomas is telling her how the lawyers are going to have to come and inventory the company as part of the embargo process and she's not very happy to hear it. As always, Tomas's brain completely stops when Alicia walks by.
The cuartel are discussing their evil plot and decide not to tell Irma about it since they know she won't like it. They all want to go to lunch, but Marta can't because of her diet and unhappily shows them this little thing of vegetables she gets to eat. They feel sorry for her and encourage her, then head to lunch.
Lety goes into Fern's office and gives him copies of the embargo paperwork. The phone rings and Fernando tells her to answer it and she goes to her office to do so. Omar begins to sow the seeds of suspicion into Fernando's head about Lety and Tomas.
Marcia brings Humberto and Teresita to their house and they ask about Ariel and Ana Leticia, then about Fernando. Humberto asks how Conceptos is doing and she tells him everything's fine. Humberto wanders away and Teresita tells Marcia he's been worried about the company ever since the video fiasco.
Lety comes out to go to lunch and Omar asks her to sit. He starts questioning her about the embargo and whether or not she's been discreet. She tells them someone will be coming to inventory the business and Fernando's upset because the timing sucks what with his parents being there and the Bella Life Commercial Launch and all. Lety uses the diversion to escape to her office. Omar leaves and Fern goes into Lety's office. He plays for sympathy and tells her he's afraid of the steps they've been taking with the company. Seeing him so sad and vulnerable, she tries to reassure him that the company is in good hands. Fern moves in close and touches her face and moves in for a kiss.
Again with the big prezzie for Marta. She gets all teary and opens it. It's just a bunch of paper, then a card, which daughter reads and everyone else gets all teary. The family hugs. Turns out Paco has just given her 10,000 pesos that he's been saving up forever so she can buy herself a car. Alicia gets off the elevator and hears what's going on. The cuartel all congratulate Marta on her soon-to-be new car.
Fernando and Marcia are at her crib eating. Fernando says he thinks Alicia's just trying to trap Omar with a lie. Marcia tells him no, she's really bun-baking, she tested positive. He's shocked. Ariel calls Marcia and she tells him that Humberto and Teresita will be coming to the big BL Launch Party. He makes a crack about Alicia and Marcia sticks up for her. Meanwhile, Omar calls Fernando on his cell phone and Fern tells him that Marcia confirmed that the preggo test was positive. Marcia's still talking to Ariel and wants to know why he's so interested in Alicia's pregnancy (here's a quarter, buy a clue Marcia!) He gives some lame excuse and they hang up, and we see a shot of him being upset. Fernando asks her who she was talking to, and she tells him Ariel about the meeting. She asks him who he was talking to, and he tells her Omar about Alicia. They discuss it and Fern's still skeptical, pointing out that she's having financial trouble and how well this works out for her.
Meanwhile, at Alicia's Palace of Lies, she's throwing away the dresses that Marta copied. The doorman announces that Ariel's coming up, and she powders up her face to make herself look pale. When he gets there, she acts good and sick. He gives her hell and she tells him it's her problem, not his. He denies the child is his and she tells him she doesn't want anything from him. He tells her he doesn't believe her, but says fine, he'll take care of her but she has to move to another country, she can't stay here. She asks where, Miami? He says no. She asks Rio de Janeiro? He says no, it has to be a totally different continent. She says Paris! London! Madrid? He says no, some place like Sidney or Pretoria. She says she doesn't want to go to someplace like Africa or Australia or Korea. He says too bad, that's my offer, and leaves.
Back at home, Lety talks to Tomas about Alicia. He says he wants to meet her and Lety teases him about what the meeting would be like. She asks if he'd really take Alicia's child as his, and he says yes. She then shows him the new loan documents and Tomas again tells her that Conceptos is practically in her hands (ok, he says this every darned time! Isn't the company in her hands by now??). He asks her why they had to do the new loan and she tells him Fern had to do it to cover their losses from the Panama caper. They discuss the embargo more, and while she talks we get a shot of a shirtless Fernando (woo hoo!!!!!) unable to sleep. She's saying that Fernando's worried and preoccupied (as well he should be). Fernando remembers when daddy turned the empire over to him. He gets up, puts a shirt on (darn it!) and sits on the sofa still reminiscing, wondering how he can tell his dad what's going on. Marcia joins him wanting to know what the problem is but he tells her it's nothing. She guesses it's Conceptos and tells him the Bella Life stuff will be fine, and gets him back to bed. He goes back to remembering his dad turning over the company and Ariel's threat. He says to himself no Ariel, you'll never be president.
Next day, Saimon and Celso are looking at Fernando's fixed car, and Saimon is once again thanking his lucky stars he didn't get busted for that. Jazmin comes up, pouts and walks away. Fernando comes up and discusses the car with Saimon. Marcia comes up and says car looks good dude.
In reception, the cuartel are discussing the car Marta will get. Fernando walks in and asks if they all shouldn't be working and they agree (hah!), but when he leaves they just continue talking. Saimon joins them and they discuss the car more. Irma tells them they all need to get to work (hah again!), but of course they don't. Alicia comes in and orders Saimon to go get her car and mentions how expensive it is, just to give Marta crap because 10,000 pesos isn't going to get much metal. The cuartel give her the usual garbage.
Fernando and Marcia talk about the launch and the meeting. Fernando wants Lety there, Marcia doesn't. Fern points out that Lety knows about negotiations, contracts, etc., and therefore should be there. Marcia turns harpy. Fernando points out that Alicia's late for work just when, speak of the devil, she gets off the elevator. She hears his comment and starts walking with her back swayed and stuff like she's already 9 months gone. He ain't buying and gives her grief, but she says she was sick. He's still climbing her back, but Marcia pulls him off and tries to get him to stop. He makes a joke and Alicia's expense and Marcia laughs, then asks him again to stop. He leaves and she tells Alicia they need to talk.
Fernando calls for Lety and they discuss how they're going to be meeting with someone to discuss the camera equipment. She tells him that Isabella is there, and he gets excited and has her smell him to make sure his cologne is ok. She likee muchee and follows him all dreamily as he heads out to hit on his own sister. Ooops, I mean the famous model.
Marcia tells Alicia that Omar called Fernando in the middle of the night, upset by the pregnancy. Alicia wonders if that means Omar wants to commit himself to her. Marcia says only in your dreams babe.
Omar comes into the office with his tail dragging. Fernando and Lety run into him and Fern the ever-sympathetic teases him and Lety laughs. Then Fernando manages to cheer Omar up by telling him Isabella's there and they get on the elevator as Saimon gets off it.
Saimon dances by Alicia and she calls him over and gives him money. The phone rings and it's the Little Mermaid. He tells her he's set it all up so she can go and live in Jakarta, Indonesia. He tells her he has a friend there who will give her a job, and she hangs up on him. Saimon dances by again but she ignores him and the ringing phone, thinking about how pissed she is by Ariel's offer. Saimon leaves and she answers the phone and tells Ariel No! He tells her it's this or nothing and she flat out refuses, she wants someplace nicer. Also, she doesn't want to work, he has to take care of her. She hangs up on him again. His secretary comes in to tell him something, but instead he sees Alicia come in with a baby that she introduces as his son. He says it's not his and tells her to leave, but she stays and calls him papa. The secretary and the people she brought in are in his office looking at him when he finally steps out of his fantasy.
Meanwhile, Omar is in his office having his own fantasy moment. He's in bed with Alicia when a baby starts crying. She orders him to take care of it but the baby won't stop crying. She laughs maniacally and he freaks. Sara walks in and wakes him up from his fantasy. She tells him there's a meeting and asks if he's ok, and he asks her to send Alicia in. She does so, but only after giving Alicia crap first. She, Lola, and Marta then head into the bathroom, Marta carrying a bag. Marta makes a big show of the bag to Alicia.
Alicia goes into Omar's office and he says they need to talk. She asks if that means he's ready to accept paternity of his son. He tells her he's not ready to be a father and she reminds him that she hasn't asked anything from him. She plays the guilt card and says she'll just be an unmarried mother. She says something about Paula Maria and says hey, it's my problem, don't worry about it.
Fern and Lety meet with Jackie Palacias (?), the manager of Rodaje.com. She's a pretty woman (hey, isn't this the lady from Yo Amo Juan Querendon?) and Ferni's flirting with her. She mentions the Benny Ibarra video disaster (no one wants to let that go, poor Fern!) and he schmoozes more, then they decide to get down to business.
Alicia tells Omar that she'll love her child no matter what and will raise him alone. Omar starts to say something but she cuts him off and lays it on thick, holding her stomach. She cries and leaves, saying she doesn't want to talk any more. Once outside his office, she dries her eyes and calls him desgraciado. Once again I'm siding with the devil here (Alicia) and worried about my soul, but really, shouldn't Omar have worried about not wanting to be a dad BEFORE he got busy with Alicia? Has no one ever told him about the birds and the bees? Anyway, Alicia heads back to her desk and walks by Marta, who's crouched down behind a desk laughing at her. She pops up and, of course, is in another knockoff. Alicia says go ahead and copy me, I'll always look better than you, and walks off. Marta's upset.
Fern and Lety are trying to convince Jackie to let Conceptos buy equipment from Rodaje.com on credit in return for a contract where they'll be committed to buy from them exclusively for the next five years. Jackie has one of her men in the meeting and he's very strange, the way he just stands hunched over and staring.
The cuartel try to cheer Marta up and discuss liposuction. They try to convince her to have it, and tell her once she does Alicia won't be able to insult her any more. Marta says she doesn't have the money, but they are insistent. Meanwhile, Paco's down in reception with roses and an envelope full of money that's supposed to be for her car, but you know where's it's gonna wind up going. In another meanwhile, Alicia's in the bathroom primping, telling herself she's glad she's not really pregnant because it would ruin her figure.
Marta and Paco go into the conference room to chat. He gives her the money and they get mushy and the cuartel, who are listening because there's no privacy anywhere in Conceptos, once again get teary. Marta hugs Paco and cries and he leaves, and the cuartel all congratulate her on having such a loving husband. PM continues to talk about the liposuction. Meanwhile, so I don't have to create another separate line, Lety and Fernando are still negotiating at Rodaje.
Luigi and Marcia walk into the lobby talking about Fernando. They see Saimon bring a plate of green apples (that must be what she gave him the money for earlier). Luigi wants one but Saimon tells him no, they're all for Alicia because she's pregnant. Luigi freaks and guesses it's Omar's. He calls him an imbecile and how could she! She tells him well, I was in love. He says ok fine, but is Omar going to accept responsibility? She sadly shakes her head no. Just then Omar walks by and Luigi grabs him and gives him grief about Alicia and the baby. Omar manages to get away.
The cuartel are still trying to convince Marta about the surgery. She doesn't really want to do it but they keep pushing.
Fernando and Lety walk into reception talking about how the negotiations went. They go upstairs and he talks about how sexy Jackie Palacias is just as Marcia comes up. She tells him Bella Life wants Conceptos to organize the event to announce the launching of their campaign. Marcia walks away to talk to Alicia and Lety points out to Fern that if Rodaje.com doesn't provide them with the equipment, there won't be a campaign to promote.
Missing Recap 30: Apples and hot sauce
The cuartel try to convince Marta again, Fern and Lety talk about the negotiations again, Marcia tells Fern about Bella Life again, and Lety points out the obvious again.
Marcia comes back and wants to know what Fernando and Lety have been up to, Fern tells her nothing. She tells them the production meetings have been going well and they want to start filming and when will the equipment get there? He makes up something and promises Luigi will be happy with what they got. They kiss and Lety makes a jealous face (Fern's not in love with you yet Lety, you don't have a right to be jealous of him kissing his fiancée).
Lety tells him she's being trying to contact Carolina Angeles but she refuses to accept any of Fernando's calls. Fern tells her to try again. In Carolina's office, the secretary answers the phone and when she tells Caro it's Fernando calling, Caro again refuses to take the call. Lety tells Fern, and he's not happy. He says he'll go down there personally to talk to her, calling Omar to join him. As he leaves he runs into Lola, who says she needs to talk to Lety. She tells Lety there's a code red meeting in the bathroom. Lety has a lot of work to do but goes ahead and goes to the meeting anyway because naturally gossip and other crap are much more important than actually working to earn that paycheck.
Fernando sees Alicia eating an apple with hot sauce (sounds good to me) and makes fun of her and gives one her apples to a kid that's sitting there in the lobby (not one of the cuartel's kids, for a change). Omar comes by and Fernando teases him about the pregnancy, gives him one of Alicia's apples, and calls him Papa as Omar hears a baby cry in his head. Fernando then gives both Omar and Alicia crap. Just then Jazmin and two models walk out of the elevator and start crawling all over Omar, who's enjoying it, you can tell by all the snorting he's doing. Alicia's watching it all, still eating her apples and hot sauce (damn, that sounds good! Am I preggers? No, I just love hot sauce). Luigi comes in and makes the models leave. Fernando teases Alicia about "THIS is the papa? Sucks to be you!" Fern and Omar leave as Fern cries like a baby.
The cuartel head to their meeting room, laughing. Sara whips out some shoes for everyone, I think I mentioned earlier this was another evil anti-Alicia plot. Everyone pays her, then the liposuction gets mentioned. Irma gets mad and tells them they shouldn't be trying to get Marta to waste her money on this since the only reason she wants it is so Alicia won't make fun of her any more, and the money's supposed to be for a car. The rest are still trying to convince Marta that liposuction is the way to go.
Fern and Omar get to Carolina's office and start teasing the secretary. She tells them Caro's in a meeting, so they say they'll wait for her and start being obnoxious in front of the other clients sitting there. I'm not sure how they think being obnoxious is going to help, but this is telenovela world after all and they do make a good comedy duo, not to mention an excellent sandwich, though I'd make a much better filling than Lety!
The cuartel are still trying to convince Marta, I don't care and fast forward.
Alicia goes into Lety's office looking for her, but of course she's not there. The phone rings and Alicia answers it, it's Jacqueline Palacias. Alicia says she'll take a message.
Back to the big important cuartel meeting, the feas ask Lety for her opinion about Marta getting lipo'd and she replies that she never thinks about such things because she doesn't like artificial things. She says if someone falls in love with you it should be for who you are, not some prefabricated body. PM asks her if superficial beauty is so bad if it helps make men fall in love with a fea. Sarah asks Lety if she'd have the surgery if she had the money. "Imagine if Tomas saw you transformed" she says. Lety begins to daydream about how Fern would react if Lety became beautiful. From her point of view we see her go into Fern's office, and he's shocked (happily) at how she looks. Marcia comes in and doesn't realize at first that it's Lety and is jealous of the new woman Fernando's got in his office. He tells her relax, it's just Lety, and Marcia is shocked. Alicia comes in and it practically takes a pry bar to levy her jaw off the floor and back into place she's so shocked by Lety's new look. Marcia tries to talk to Fernando but he's ignoring her, busy staring at Lety. PM wakes her out of her fantasy as Alicia comes in, gives her crap for being there instead of her office, and tells her about Jackie's phone call. She gives the rest of the cuartel crap as always, and especially picks on Marta calling her fat. Alicia leaves, laughing, making Marta decide on the lipo. Lety says she has to leave.
Marcia asks Alicia what's going on and Alicia whines about how Lety wasn't in her office and poor Alicia actually had to answer her phone. She tells Marcia it was Jacqueline Palacias and Marcia gets all thoughtful, remembering how she heard Fernando call her guapa. She asks where Fernando is, and Alicia tells her he's at Carolina's office.
Carolina comes out and Fern and Omar do all kinds of stupid tricks to try to convince her to work with them again. They sing (apparently a song by Jose Jose called The Desperate), beg, and have a pillow fight with the pillows from her waiting room sofa. They make her paper flowers, which she throws away. She tells Fern that when Conceptos got discredited, she did too.
The cuartel and Marta are still going on about the lipo and she acts sexy, happy with the idea of how she'll look once it's done. Sorry, once again I am forced to fast forward through this exchange.
Omar and Fernando are still begging and tell Carolina about the Bella Life commercials and how much the contract is for and how important it is. She gets an O/F sandwich and now I have to be jealous of both her and Lety, but then Omar snorts and I think "never mind". Eventually, after some hand kissing and other stuff, she gives in to their begging and agrees to work with Conceptos again, but she'll only work with Luigi and Marcia, she won't work with Fern and Omar. They agree.
More fast forwarding by me as the cuartel are STILL discussing liposuction. Fern and Omar walk by and they scurry back to their desks like little non-working vermin when a light gets turned on.
Fern calls to Lety and she tells him that Jackie called and has agreed to their terms. Fern's very happy and moves in for a hug. She gladly throws her arms wide open, but he brushes past her and hugs Omar, and Lety's not so pleased. Fernando says he's happy because they got both Rodaje.com and Carolina. Lety gets loud happy and Fernando tells her to calm down, then Omar also gets loud happy and she tells him to calm down.
Jackie and her incredibly odd henchman (henceforth known as IOH) come into reception. Saimon begins to drool over her and dance around her because he's popping WAY too many speed pills and can't sit still. He leads them upstairs as PM calls Lety to let her know they're there. They run into Alicia and Saimon introduces them to her and turns them over to her. She rudely makes them wait as she goes and announces them while the cuartel wonder why she's there and who the guy is. Lety tells Alicia to take the guests to the conference room and naturally Alicia gets all indignant that Lety is giving her orders. Fernando asks if the pregnancy is affecting her hearing and repeats Lety's order to take them to the conference room. She tells him to stop yelling at her because it upsets her son, as she clutches her still-flat stomach. Fernando probably rolls his eyes with disgust, but if he does I miss it because I'm doing the same. She leaves and Fernando teases Omar about her. Omar snaps back with a smart comment about Fernando and Lety. Lety looks hopeful, but Fernando just looks at her for a minute, then bursts out laughing. She's hurt but pretends to laugh as well. (Now in the recap comments people always give Marcia hell for clinging to Fernando when he didn't love her, but at this point one has to wonder why Lety continued to cling to Fernando after a comment like that. But anyroad...).
I guess Alicia assumes there's some kind of hanky panky going on with Fern and Jackie because she's incredibly rude when she leads them to the conference room. Lopez comes up and sees Jackie and lick/squeaks his head in lust. Marta asks to talk to him, but he'd rather swoon over Jackie, but Marta convinces him and they go to his office.
In the conference room, Omar is flirting with Jackie while IOH stand around staring weirdly (after nearly removing Fernando's arm shaking his hand). Fernando clears his throat at Omar and Omar hears the sound of a baby crying in his head. Everyone sits and Jackie says they accept Conceptos' proposal. IOH pulls a contract out of his briefcase and gives it to Fern, who tosses it to Lety to read.
Marta asks Lopez for some vacation time to have the liposuction. At first Lopez just laughs and wants to know who will do her work. She tells him Lola and Sara have agreed to help out. He then decides that with a few less pounds Marta might not look too bad, so he grants his permission.
Alicia gossips to Marcia that Fernando is in the boardroom with Jacqueline Palaces. Luigi comes up and complains that he still doesn't have his cameras and Marcia says she'll talk to Fernando about it.
Lety tells Fernando the contract's good and gets right up in his face as he's trying to sign up. Once again he has to ask her to step back and give him some space. Jackie and IOH get up to leave and Fern kisses her cheek just as (of course) Marcia and Luigi come in. Fernando introduces everyone and Luigi tries to make a joke with IOH, but he just stands there staring like a zombie, freaking Luigi out. Fernando tells them about the negotiations for the cameras and Luigi's happy. Jackie, IOH and Luigi leave and Marcia gives Fernando crap about the new lady. Fern asks if she's jealous and she says yes, and Fern tells her don't be, it's just negotiations. He tries to kiss her but she tells him he smells (I guess like Jackie's perfume?) and stalks off. Fernando, Lety and Omar go back to Fern's office. Fern tells Lety that even though the company is getting better, the embargo with Filmo Imagen has to continue.
Next day Lety goes to the bank to ask for a loan of one million eight hundred thousand pesos in the name of F.I. The manager tells her that exceeds the amount of the company's capital, but Lety shows him the letter from Fernando guaranteeing the loan based on the total value of Conceptos. The banker still looks unsure and Lety gives him a begging look. Back at work, she comes in and tells Fernando they got the loan. Fernando's happy that they can now proceed with the commercial, and says Luigi's happy with the camera they chose. Lety reminds Fern that Conceptos is now into F.I. for 2 million pesos and Fern tells her she's always a pessimist. He shakes her hand and thanks her for everything and leaves, and she Tan Divinos.
We get a montage of the work being done on the commercial while Lety voice-overs in case we miss anything.
Now it's a new day. Saimon and the cuartel are talking about Marta and Sara makes fun of Lopez. Alicia is at her desk and gets upset by one of her bills about her car. She shows it to Marcia while whining. Fernando overhears her as she works up a tear and describes the horrors of the microbus. Fernando makes fun of her as Omar tries to slip away, but Fernando pulls him back. Alicia pretends to be feeling faint and Marcia takes her to the ladies room. Fernando tells Omar he needs to take care of his future wife as Omar continues to deny the baby's his. They walk away, Fern teasing him the whole way like he's holding a baby. There's a funny comment when Omar brushes impatiently by Fernando and Fern tells him to be careful, they don't want the baby to fall on its head and end up like Ariel.
Back in the office, Lety's worrying about all the debt Conceptos has incurred with the banks and now Rodaje.com. Lety's also concerned that all this stuff is public information, someone could find out about it and there could be a big scandal. As always, he just tells her to calm down.
The rugrats are all at work again and everyone's wishing Jaimito happy birthday. PM asks her son what he wants as a present, and he tells her he wants Saimon to be his papa.
Missing Recap 31: Less of Martha to love
Fernando teases Omar again, Lety warns Fernando and is pessimistic again, and Jaimito wants to be Saimon's little bundle of joy again.
Fernando, Lety and Omar are chatting and Omar recommends a lawyer who can represent F.I. in the embargo process. Lety agrees to set up a meeting with the guy. Omar leaves.
Marcia helps Alicia back to her desk while she whines about her poor baby (poor for real I guess). Omar overhears their conversation and Marcia asks if he's ready for the upcoming meeting, he says he is and heads back to his own office. Carolina comes in and asks what's wrong with Alicia and Marcia tells her (after hearing Alicia complain about the cuartel sharing her deep dark secrets, here's Marcia also telling the whole world about it!). Caro is happy for her, then she and Marcia head to the conference room where Marcia can dish the real dirt on the whole sordid story. Omar comes up and gives Alicia a check. She tells him she doesn't want his money and he's only trying to assuage his own guilt for not making a commitment to her, but he says he's just trying to help her out. She tells him again she doesn't want it, he whines a little bit and leaves, leaving the check behind. As soon as he's not looking, Alicia gives her now famous smug little smile and kisses the check.
The choreographer is working with the dancers while Luigi watches and he's unhappy with how it looks. He's trying to get some work done, but Irma comes in and tells him he has to go to yet another meeting (you have no idea what's in store for you in the coming months meeting-wise, Luigi!). He whines but eventually heads out. Jazmin stops him and asks him to let her dance in the production, but he tells her she's not a good dancer and he only wants to use professional, experienced dancers.
Juana brings her niece in to join all the other kids in reception, and the mothers discuss what to do with them. I have some ideas but doubt they'd like them much...
Jazmin begs Irma to help her convince Luigi to allow her to dance in the Bella Life promotion, but Irma tells her not to bother her and don't even thing about trying to interfere with the production, because if she keeps bugging them, they'll let her go.
Saimon takes the little brat monsters, I'm sorry, I mean the adorably precocious children, to play in a warehouse where old costumes are kept, and you just KNOW total havoc will be wreaked. Juana's niece, turns out, follows in old Auntie's footsteps and has the gift of clairvoyance. The girl tells Saimon he has a big heart and is capable of loving many women, but right now he loves a woman that doesn't return the feeling.
Even though Sara and Lola are helping him, Lopez is lost without Marta. He's screeching, they're making fun of him, and Lola tells him Marta will be back tomorrow. Meanwhile, the kids are playing, dressed up in costumes and face paint and stuff, and the talented niece thinks she hears Lola yelling. She tells everyone about some herbs she's carrying around with her (signs of a possible future profession as drug pusher maybe?) and something about using them to calm Lola down.
In the meeting, Marcia tells everyone that Carolina will do the publicity for the B.L. Launch, and Caro tells when the invitations will be going out. Omar is dumb enough to ask Luigi how the preparations for the spectacular are going, and Luigi gets all offended and says he's working on it so of course it will be marvelous. Caro hands out the potential menu and mentions all the booze that's going to be there and it sounds like a helluva party woohoo!! Fernando's unhappy about the cost. He yells for Lety and Marcia makes a rude comment. Lety comes in, takes the menu and drink information from Caro, and leaves. Luigi whines that the studio is too small for his dancers to work in and he'd like to have them rehearse someplace larger and again Fern reminds him they have to keep costs down. Marcia says she's starting to worry that Fern is always talking about the budget.
Sara and Lola are talking when Irma comes in looking for Jazmin. As always Lola freaks at the slightest mention of the little family-destroying ho, so why Irma is dumb enough to tell her that Jaz is trying to convince Luigi to let her dance, I'll never know. Irma apparently has also had enough because she cuts her off.
Back at the meeting, Marcia still wants to know why Fern's so hung up on money. Caro asks why Fernando doesn't have Lety in the meetings when they talk about budgets and Fern cuts right to the chase and tells her it's because Marcia and Luigi refuse to work with her. Lety comes in with information for Carolina and Marci, shamed by what Fernando said, asks Lety to stay.
Naturally the children make a complete disaster with the costumes and makeup they find. They also find bags of fake snow they can break open and get everywhere. Their parents come in and Lola orders them to remove the costumes and makeup and clean up. Naturally the kids don't listen and Saimon just joins in on their fun. Meanwhile, Marta comes into the office looking pretty trim, and she shows off to Alicia. The mothers are still yelling at their kids and PM is blaming Saimon. Sorry, I can't take it and I fast forward.
Sara, Juana and Irma ooh and aah over Marta's new svelte figure. Lola comes in and literally screams with happiness at seeing her. Lopez comes in and walks right by Marta, saying hello guapa. He stutters when he realizes it's her. He drools as he leads her to his office.
Back at the meeting they're still talking about the dancers. Lety makes a suggestion that Luigi doesn't like, but Fernando backs her up so Luigi agrees. Lety then asks to be excused, she has something important to take care of. She reminds Fernando that they have to meet with the bankers tomorrow. Marcia also reminds him that tomorrow Teresita and Humberto get in from London. He asks her to meet them at the airport because he has an important meeting.
Lety goes to her office and calls Tomas and asks him to go with her to talk to the lawyer that will be representing FI, and he agrees. Fernando, Omar and Carolina come into Fern's office and Fern yells for Lety. Caro gives him grief about the crappiness of Lety's office, but he tells her he tried to give her something nicer but she didn't want it. Lety comes out and, as always, gets just right into Fernando's face, and the way she stands at attention it looks like she's shoving her boobs at him. Once again he has to tell her to back off and give him some space. Carolina tells her goodbye and leaves, then Fern, Lety and Omar sit down for the usual rehash about the embargo and how Lety's still uncomfortable with it. Again he has to talk her into it, and she leaves. He and Omar then continue to chat about it.
At a restaurant, two lawyers are sitting and drinking, and Lety and Tomas greet them. They're they lawyers Omar recommended and they don't inspire Lety with much confidence, but she goes ahead and starts explaining about the embargo.
Back at Conceptos the kids are cleaning up and I really don't care about their conversation, more crap about how to calm Lola down. I'm recommending a bullet to the brain, but no one listens to me (her brain, I mean, though if I have keep listening to this storyline, I could mean mine as well).
Back to Lety and the lawyers, she's telling them that they need to avoid a scandal at all costs. They demand a ridiculously high fee and Lety and Tomas start to walk. The lawyers drop their price so they stay after all.
More kid stuff, Saimon comes to get them, yawn.
The choreographer is still working with the dancers. Jazmin is in the background mimicking their moves. Luigi's happy to see that Fatima Bosh, Fernando's former one-night-stand, is one of them. He tells the dancers they can all go home, then calls Jazmin over and tells her to stop hanging around and she leaves, upset.
The kids are rubbing herbs on Lola's legs while she sleeps. Jaz comes in and says crap, Lola gets mad, and I guess the old herb trick didn't work so well. Jaz leaves and Lola yells at the kids.
I guess to help Televisa pay some bills, we now have a commercial moment as Irma brings in some red apples while Luigi is trying to come up with a commercial for Garnier Nutrisse. The commercial has to do with one of their red dyes, so the apples give Luigi an idea: "the temptation of color".
Marcia, Fernando and Omar are leaving, Marcia giving Fern crap about Jackie Palacias the whole time, when Fatima comes in and plants a big fat wet one on his cheek right in front of her. She goes ballistic on him as Fatima leaves. Marta walks by and Marcia compliments her on her new slim bad self while Omar teases Fernando about Fatima. He mentions Fernando's ethics for giving him crap about PM when he himself was doing the nasty with the dancer. Fernando tells Omar there's no comparison between the two, and Omar quips back with a comment about Marcia. Omar's phone rings, it's a woman, so he walks away to take the call. Marcia and Fernando leave; Omar continues to chat with his little chippy, snorting all over the place, and suddenly he realizes Alicia's listening. He gets a guilty look on his face.
PM and Saimon are arguing in reception when Jaz comes in all bummed because Luigi won't let her dance. Saimon sympathizes and drools and PM gets jealously pissed. She tries to get Saimon away from the skank homewrecker but he won't leave her and they head out together as PM builds up steam. The kids all come in making a ton of racket.
Up in the lobby, Marta again poses in front of Alicia, and Alicia lets fly the usual insults, but this time Marta isn't bothered by them. She talks to Irma and Sara as they're all leaving, and tells them she doesn't know how to tell her husband what she spent the car money on. They go down to the lobby and join everyone else and discuss Saimon and Jazmin. Lola gets her usual freak on, and Irma advises her that if she wants Cheque to come back to her, she needs to calm down (I jump up with a resounding Here Here on that!!!) and stop fighting with him. Finally everyone leaves.
Meanwhile Lety and Tomas are still talking to the lawyers at the restaurant. The lawyers are questioning why the embargo was necessary and tell her Fernando was crazy to create it. Lety's eye twitches.
Missing Recap 32: Lien on Conceptos when feeling loanly
The cuartel again, ugh! The lawyers again ask questions about the embargo and she twitches again. Tomas reminds them that there can't be any scandal.
Fernando and Marcia discuss his parents coming in. She asks him what's up with meeting at the bank, and he just drinks. She asks him again and he gives her some lame excuse.
Discussing the embargo, one of the lawyers tells Lety that Fernando is either crazy or an imbecile to put his company in her hands like this. Since they just dissed her Tan Divino, she jumps to his defense and tells them she respects Fernando and his judgment. The lawyers ask for an increase in their fee due to the secret nature of the deal, which shocks Lety and Tomas, and they want an advance so they can pay the restaurant bill as they have no money. Tomas pays them and he and Lety leave.
Jazmin and Saimon are eating and Jaz is whining about Luigi. Saimon calms her down and offers to speak to Luigi for her. Jaz tells him it would be better to talk to Fernando, the president, and Saimon agrees to do it. She talks to Cheque on the phone while Saimon flirts with girls at another table, then she tells him she has to leave. She kisses his cheek and he swoons.
Tomas and Lety discuss their meeting and she stresses again that she's not happy with Omar's recommendation. Tomas again chats with her about technically being the true owner of Conceptos. Meanwhile, we get a shot of Fernando still unable to sleep, upset by everything that's happening with the company.
The next day Marta's going to a gym to get info on joining it, and the cuartel are with her. They see Alicia there exercising and realize she can't be pregnant. They discuss ad nauseam.
The lawyer, Sanchez, is once again meeting with Lety and Tomas. Lety asks Tomas to go with the lawyers when they create the embargo, and leaves. The lawyers tell Tomas they have to go to Conceptos to do an inventory as part of the embargo process. Tomas is worried about the problems this might cause.
Back at the gym, Alicia's getting reamed by her trainer because her check bounced. She promises to pay tomorrow. The cuartel go and talk to him and tell him they work with her so he feels free to dish the dirt on her to them.
Back at Conceptos, Alicia's crying and Marcia sees her and asks what's wrong. Alicia tells her about what happened and Marcia tells her she shouldn't be going to the gym while she's pregnant. Alicia realizes her boo boo and gives Marcia some fake excuse. Marcia then wants to know where the frapping hell the cuartel is. Ok, she didn't use those exact words, my bad.
Speak of the devils, they wander into reception still talking about what they just discovered. Sara wants to warn Omar but Juana says first they have to get proof and they discuss how to go about that. Saimon comes in and Lola freaks on him, blah blah blah. He and PM exchange barbs as Jaz comes in and flirts with him.
The cuartel finally show up in the lobby and Alicia goes all harpy on them and the usual crap flies. I ignore the rest of the conversation. Saimon and Jazmin come dancing in and continue to flirt with each other. Omar comes in and Alicia pointedly asks Saimon to get her some chocolates she's been craving because of the pregnancy. He goes to get them and the cuartel all laugh as Omar walks on. Jaz gives Lola crap and the cuartel once again have to hold her back as Jaz leaves. Again, yawn.
Lety comes in and apologizes to Fern for being late, telling him she was meeting with the lawyers. They discuss that this information is available to the public and she shows him where it can be found on the internet. He's not happy, but says something along the lines of hopefully no one will see it.
Tomas is still with Sanchez, who hands him copies of the embargo paperwork. He once again hits Tomas up for a fee hike and Tomas is impactada.
Marta comes up with an idea for a way to force Alicia to get a blood test and tells the cuartel about it.
Tomas and the lawyer are still discussing the embargo and his fee. Tomas starts to leave, but the lawyer asks for another advance. Tomas says Lety will kill him, but goes ahead and gives the guy money anyway.
Lety's on the phone trying to get more information about exactly what will be available on the internet, just what's registered with the Publico or the bank information as well? Fernando's listening. She hangs up and Tomas calls and she tells Fern it's the embargo lawyer.
Marta tells Lopez that because Alicia joined the company as Marcia's friend, she never had to provide the tests that are required by the company. She says he should order those tests to avoid any problems for Conceptos, though her real reason is so the order will come from him. He wants Marta to tell Alicia the news, but she explains to him that they don't get along, so he says he'll do it. He ogles her as she leaves, telling her she looks good and she wiggles her butt at him.
Tomas tells Lety the lawyer wants another advance and she's not happy about the amount. He also asks for permission to buy a cell phone and mentions that FI is continuing to make gains on their investments. Fernando's still listening to her conversation. At Lety's house, Mom lights a candle at the alter and prays for Lety. Just then Lety calls and they talk mushy mother/daughter stuff. For some reason both are whining and crying, then Lety hangs up.
Marta tells Sara and Lola that Lopez agreed about the tests and the results will have to pass through her hands. Omar walks by looking really bad and they feel sorry for him. To play devil's advocate, it was Omar who first took advantage of a drunk Alicia, so it's hard for me to work up any sympathy if she's now taking advantage of him. Sometimes you play, you pay, pal. Anyway, in Ariel's office, he and his secretary have a conversation about public information.
Fernando and Omar talk, rehashing about all their loans. Omar tells Fern that he's worried that Ariel might find out about Conceptos's problems from the internet or from public registries, while in his office Ariel and his secretary continue to discuss the same topic. Marcia calls him and tells him about Teresita and Humberto coming in and he mentions that he'll stop by to see them later on.
He then calls Alicia and she puts him on hold while talking to Lopez, who's telling her about the blood test requirement. She doesn't want to have it, but he doesn't give her a choice. They argue while the cuartel smirk. Marcia walks by and Alicia tries to get her help, but Marcia tells her if it's required then she's just gonna have to do it. Alicia then tries to get lunch out of her, but Marcia tells her she has to go to the airport to meet Fern's parents.
Marcia goes into Fernando's office where he's talking to Omar. He ignores her at first and she wants to know what's wrong. While Lety listens, he makes up some phony excuse and she leaves. He worries about his parents and Omar tells him not to say anything to them about what's been going on. Fern calls for Lety just as the phone rings. She comes out and tells him Tomas is downstairs and he tells her she can go. Omar wants to know who Tomas is, and Fern tells him he's a friend of Lety's who's working for Filmo Imagen. Omar's not very happy to hear this, but Fern tells him don't worry, Tomas knows nothing about the embargo. Meanwhile Lety and Tomas are discussing that very subject downstairs. Tomas is telling her how the lawyers are going to have to come and inventory the company as part of the embargo process and she's not very happy to hear it. As always, Tomas's brain completely stops when Alicia walks by.
The cuartel are discussing their evil plot and decide not to tell Irma about it since they know she won't like it. They all want to go to lunch, but Marta can't because of her diet and unhappily shows them this little thing of vegetables she gets to eat. They feel sorry for her and encourage her, then head to lunch.
Lety goes into Fern's office and gives him copies of the embargo paperwork. The phone rings and Fernando tells her to answer it and she goes to her office to do so. Omar begins to sow the seeds of suspicion into Fernando's head about Lety and Tomas.
Marcia brings Humberto and Teresita to their house and they ask about Ariel and Ana Leticia, then about Fernando. Humberto asks how Conceptos is doing and she tells him everything's fine. Humberto wanders away and Teresita tells Marcia he's been worried about the company ever since the video fiasco.
Lety comes out to go to lunch and Omar asks her to sit. He starts questioning her about the embargo and whether or not she's been discreet. She tells them someone will be coming to inventory the business and Fernando's upset because the timing sucks what with his parents being there and the Bella Life Commercial Launch and all. Lety uses the diversion to escape to her office. Omar leaves and Fern goes into Lety's office. He plays for sympathy and tells her he's afraid of the steps they've been taking with the company. Seeing him so sad and vulnerable, she tries to reassure him that the company is in good hands. Fern moves in close and touches her face and moves in for a kiss.

La Fea Más Bella #43-46 Missing Recaps 25-28, by Kim P.
Missing Recap 25: Goin' to Panew York
Lety's writing in her diary again, Fern is talking to Isabella and company again, Ariel and everyone leaves again, and Marcia once again wants to know why Fernando called Lety instead of her.
Fernando explains she was with Ariel and everyone else so he couldn't call her dressed the way he was. She says fine, but next time call her if he has a problem. He agrees and apologizes. They kiss and she leaves, and Fern complains to himself about everything that's going on. The next day Paco and Marta are arguing in Reception because he has to leave their daughter with her for a while. She says she can't have children at work but he leaves her there anyway. In come PM and Lola with their kids and I think it's funny how everyone always has baby sitting issues at exactly the same time.
Fernando comes into the office and gives Lety back her dad's clothes and thanks her again for her help. They talk about Panama and his ticket to get there. Marcia comes in so Lety hightails it back to her own office. Fern and Marcia talk about the commercial's storyboards and she wants him to do something but he says he can't because he's going to Pan... he almost says Panama, but then changes it to New York. He tells her he's going there to buy the cameras for Luigi.
Lola, Marta and PM are yelling at their little poster children for why birth control is a good thing, telling them to behave (yeah right!). The kids whine about always being stuck there.
Fernando and Marcia are still talking when Saimon rushes in with his ticket. They go through the whole "almost saying Panama but interrupting and saying New York" bit, then Saimon leaves.
Out in the lobby Lola and Marta are telling Sara about their kid problems. Luigi walks by and makes a stupid fea crack on his way to Fern's office. Lopez comes in and while he's talking Marta makes faces behind his back. He does his lick/squeak thing and leaves, and Sara makes fun of it.
Back in Fern's office, he's still trying to talk to Marcia but Luigi keeps making little lovey-dovey faces at him, and finally Fern asks him what he wants. Luigi says sorry, but he was just remembering how cute Fernando looked last night. Marcia starts to say something but Fernando cuts her off and starts complaining about how bad the night was. Luigi says ok, ok, and starts to tell Marcia all about it and Fern isn't happy. Marcia breaks them up and they then discuss the cameras, while Lety listens. Marcia says she would have preferred it if Fernando had dealt with national suppliers for the cameras, and Luigi agrees. Fern argues, I think using cost as his excuse. Marcia and Luigi leave. In the lobby, Luigi makes another comment about the cuartel. Alicia comes up and comments too.
In Fern's office, Lety comes out and discusses the bank. He tells her he's going to drive himself to the airport and wants her to have Saimon go there to pick up his car once he's gone.
Marcia, Luigi and Alicia are talking in Marcia's office about Fern's trip to New York. Alicia asks Marcia if Fern's suppliers are reliable and Luigi wants to know why she's so interested. Marcia teases her about her six semesters of finance. Fernando comes in to tell Marcia he's off and she tells him she wants to go with him. Fernando doesn't know how to talk her out of going, but Alicia begs Marcia not to go because the company will be in the hands of Lety again. Just at that moment Isabella calls to arrange a meeting with Marcia, so Marcia agrees to stay. Fern pretends to be disappointed and tosses her an air kiss and leaves.
Fern and Lety get off the elevator down in Reception and Fern gives Saimon instructions about his car, and warns him of dire consequences if anything happens to it. Does anyone else hear the sound of an anvil creaking over Saimon's head? He and Lety go through the game of stressing to everyone that he's going to New York (no, it wasn't at ALL obvious they were lying, I say with my eyes rolling with sarcasm). Lety tells him to be careful and hands him his briefcase and he leaves.
Marcia, Luigi and Alicia are still talking and Marcia tells Alicia not to let the cuartel get to her. They all go out into the lobby and Marta comes up to them dressed in another Alicia knockoff. Luigi and Marcia tell her she looks "de-vine" while Alicia hyperventilates. Alicia whines to Marcia as Marta poses and Sara snickers in the background. Marcia tells Alicia it's not important and she and Luigi pretty much just laugh at Alicia's humiliation. Alicia complains that now she'll have to throw this dress away too and Marcia gets mad and tells her she's stupid because she doesn't have any money to buy new ones. Alicia continues to whine as they walk away.
The kids are talking to Lola and PM in the lobby, sorry, I don't care what they say. PM tells Saimon to take the kids with him when he goes to pick up Fernando's car. Saimon doesn't want to because he knows Fern would kill him if he found out, but as always he wusses out and gives in.
Alicia calls Ariel and tells him that Fern has gone to New York to buy the video equipment for Luigi. Ariel tells her to find out more about the suppliers.
The cuartel come into the lobby and comment on how great Marta's dress is while Alicia looks on. She calls them witches (gee, never heard that one before).
Luigi is talking to the models, including Jazmin, about the commercial he's doing. They all kiss him goodbye and leave as Alicia walks in. She pumps him for more info on the cameras and Fernando's trip but he tells her it's not his area and he doesn't know anything.
Fernando calls Lety and she asks how he's doing in Panama. He yells at her that he's in NEW YORK! They talk about Omar and the business they're there on. He asks if she's heard from Saimon about his car. She says no and he reminds her the car is in Saimon's hands... SAIMON! She says she'll check on it and they hang up.
Saimon takes the kids out for ice cream and he tells them to finish eating before getting into the car so they won't make a mess in there. In the lobby, Lety asks Lola if she's heard from Saimon. Lola tells her Saimon took the kids with him in the car to run an errand, and Lety's eye twitches. Finishing the ice cream, Saimon and the kids all pile into Fern's car and there are scenes of them driving all over the place, laughing and having fun, and I still hear the sound of a creaking anvil ready to fall.
Fernando calls Marcia and she asks how his trip was, how his hotel is, and how Omar is. He tells her the negotiations are going well and that he'll be home tomorrow. She offers to pick him up at the airport but he tells her she doesn't have to and they hang up.
Saimon is talking to the kids about what a great car this is, and the rope holding that anvil finally breaks... As he's pulling into Conceptos he sees Jazmin and, as always, his brain totally switches off as other male parts take over. Distracted, he scrapes the side of Fern's car against the gate. He freaks while the kids give him hell and Jazmin continues to talk to Efren on the phone.
Alicia goes into Marcia's office and Marcia tells her about the Bella Life commercial. Alicia's not looking well and Marcia asks if she's ok. Alicia replies no, she has diarrhea, and blames the cuartel and Marta's little clothes joke. We're then treated to a Pepto Bismal commercial as Marcia whips a bottle out of her desk and pours Alicia a shot while extolling its virtues. Commercial over, Alicia again pumps Marcia for info about Fern's trip and the suppliers in New York. Marcia can't answer because she doesn't know much herself, and Alicia manages to make Marcia curious and she decides she wants to talk to Fernando. She calls Lety to find out where he's staying, but Lety doesn't tell her, claiming that Fernando said he wasn't to be disturbed. Naturally, this doesn't sit too well with Marcia, to put it mildly. Alicia fans the flames against Lety, of course. Marcia tries to call him on his cell but it's turned off. She then calls Lola and tells her to get the information on Fern and Omar.
PM is on the phone talking to Lola about the kids when Saimon comes in pantomiming swallowing a sword. PM is trying to find out what happened and Saimon is telling her and he's finding a way to blame the kids. Now he's pantomiming stabbing himself repeatedly as PM tells him how Fernando's going to kill him. The phone rings and, of course, it's Lety asking about Fernando's car. PM lets Lety know what happened and Lety decides to head out to see for herself.
As Lety's leaving, she hears Lola (speaking truly horrible but very funny English) trying to get hold of Fern or Omar in New York on Marcia's orders. Lety tells her Fernando doesn't want Marcia to know what he's doing and asks her to please tell Marcia that she couldn't find him at the hotel. Marta wants to know if he's got a girlfriend in New York and Lety says a little. (She says poco... what? A little girlfriend? Is he seeing a midget? What a bizarre answer). They tease her about her boss and she nervously goes along with it, then begs them not to say anything. Marcia intercoms Lola wanting to know the status, and Lola leaves to talk to her. Lety tells Marta and Sara about Saimon's accident. Marta freaks about the kids and Lety reassures her they're fine, then leaves to find out the damage.
Lola gives Marcia some excuse for why she couldn't get hold of Fernando. Alicia makes some kind of crack and Marcia asks Lola if Saimon ever got Fernando's car. Lola says she doesn't know and leaves.
PM and Lety see the car and are impactada to the point where Lety passes out and PM catches her. Saimon begs, Lety worries about how to tell Fernando, and the kids worry about Saimon. There's a lot of conversation with Lety, Saimon, the kids and Celso all talking at once. Lety tells Saimon Fern will be back tomorrow.
Back in the lobby, Alicia says her usual junk about Marta's little dress game and how unattractive Marta is, and Irma fires back and the insults start to fly. The cuartel head off to see the car for themselves as Alicia goes into Lety's office, looking for her. When she sees the office is empty, she starts riffling through her desk and other areas, looking for information.
The cuartel are all down looking at the car. Lola wants to know how it happened and one of the kids starts to answer, but Saimon hushes him and everyone talks at once. Lety shushes them all and asks Lola what she told Marcia, then asks her if Marcia asks again to please tell her that Fernando will call her later. Lety says she has to tell her boss what happened to the car. Saimon begs her not to and the cuartel join in with the begging. Whatever it is they're planning, Lety agrees to it and tells Celso to do something, then tells everyone they can't let Alicia or Dona Marcia find out. Lety then goes back to her office and finds Alicia going through her stuff.
Missing Recap 26: Feinting Fit
Once again crap is flying between Alicia and the caurtel like salmon at Seattle's Public Market (for anyone who doesn't know, the fishmongers toss the fish back and forth across the aisles). Alicia goes into Lety's office again, the cuartel talk down at the car again, and Lety catches Alicia in her office again.
Lety asks Alicia what she's looking for in her office. Alicia bluffs and says she's only looking for information that Marcia asked for. Alicia says it's not important and starts to leave, but Lety says she's going to call Marcia to find out exactly what it is she needs. Alicia stops her and insults fly (Alicia does a very funny imitation of Lety), but Lety doesn't back down and wants to know what information Marcia wanted. Alicia finally admits she's trying to find information on the suppliers in New York, looking for their phone number. Alicia makes a lame threat against Lety and leaves.
The cuartel are in the lobby continuing to sympathize with Saimon, and he's still blaming the kids for the accident. They offer to help him pay for the repairs on Fernando's car and he gives them all kisses.
Lety's on the phone trying to get hold of Fernando, but she isn't able to. Saimon is on the phone regarding the repairs. He swoons when he hears how expensive it's going to be. Lety's again trying to get Fernando, still no luck. She leaves a message asking him to call her asap.
Saimon wants to take the car to a friend of his that's cheaper, but the cuartel want him to take the car to a more professional mechanic and they'll help him pay for it, but Saimon tells them he doesn't have the money. Celso brings the kids in and Jazmin walks in apologizing, saying she feels like it's her fault. She then tells everyone what happened and the cuartel are pissed that Saimon tried to blame the kids for his mistake, and they withdraw their offer to help pay for the repairs and kick him out of Reception.
Lola, Marta and Sarah go back upstairs talking about what just happened, and Marcia comes up and asks Lola of she got hold of Fernando. Lola tells her Fernando will call her later tonight and this placates Marcia and she leaves. Lety comes up and Lola then asks her if SHE was able to get hold of Fern, to which Lety replies no. Lola gets her usual Lola freak on since she already told Marcia Fern would call her and Lety calms her down, and I'm thinking I'd never want that woman (Lola) with me during a crisis, all she does is freak without ever resolving anything.
Anyway, Fernando calls Lety all upset that she's disturbing him and she tells him what's been going on. He gets mad when he hears Marcia sent Alicia into her office to get intel on the suppliers and tells Lety he'll be home that night instead of tomorrow.
The cuartel are looking at shoe catalogs and Sara shows them a credit card or membership card or something. Since Alicia earlier made a crack about their cheap shoes, I'm assuming this is another one of their "let's annoy the holy crap out of Alicia" plots and skip the rest of the conversation. Saimon comes up and they yell at him and he whines about his problem.
Fern calls Marcia to complain about her checking up on him and she doesn't understand why he's so upset by her wanting to talk to him. He complains about her sending Alicia to Lety's office to spy. Marcia tells him Lety's inventing that story to make her look bad. They fight more and hang up, and Marcia's seriously p.o.'d. She calls Lety into her office and accuses her of lying to Fernando just to cause problems between her and him. Lety tells her it's not a lie, Alicia was in her office and told her she was there under Marcia's orders. Marcia angrily calls Alicia into her office and yells at her, wanting to know if it was true. Alicia doesn't want to talk in front of Lety but Marcia forces her to answer. Alicia claims she was just trying to help and Marcia tells her all she did was piss Fernando off. She tells Lety to leave. Lety tries to apologize for causing problems but Alicia cuts in and calls her a bruja and a few other choice words. Marcia cuts Alicia off and Lety goes. As soon as the door's shut, Marcia begins to rip Alicia a new one. Alicia tries to give some fake explanation but Marcia doesn't want to hear it. She tells Alicia she doesn't want her help any more because all she does is cause trouble between her and Fernando, then kicks her out of her office.
Lety's out telling the cuartel what happened. Alicia comes out and accuses them all of gossiping and insults again fly (which doesn't seem right, they WERE gossiping!). Saimon comes up wanting to talk to Lety but before he can the cuartel tell her what he did, trying to blame the kids and all. He hands her a flower and begs her not to tell Fernando but she only replies that Fern will be coming back tonight. Saimon freaks, and so does Alicia, who was listening to the conversation.
That night Saimon is down whining to PM in Reception. Jazmin comes in and sympathizes with him while PM just yells at him. Jaz starts to flirt with Saimon, just to piss PM off. Saimon starts talking about how he's going to be firm with Fernando when in walks the devil himself, along with Omar. Fern wants to know what's up and where's his car and Saimon starts to stutter. Both Fern and Omar tease him about the stuttering and head upstairs. Celso comes in and asks Saimon how it went, and just shakes his head with disgust when Saimon tells him he couldn't bring himself to say anything.
Alicia is on the phone to Ariel and leaves a message for him. Just then Fernando and Omar walk up and she pretends to be sick to try to get out of talking to him, but of course it doesn't work. He yells at her and she asks him to stop, he's hurting her head. Marcia comes up and asks to talk to him, so they leave and Omar starts to tease Alicia for not saying hi to him, then asks her what's wrong. She tells him she doesn't know and has to go see a doctor. He growls and snorts at her as only an oversexed Omar can and leaves, and she makes a face.
Marcia's hugging Fern and tells him she's glad he's back. He asks about the problem with Lety and Marcia admits Alicia was in her office, but not on Marcia's instructions. He wants to know why Alicia's so interested and Marcia basically says look sweetie, Alicia's my friend and she just thought she was helping me. Fern insists on knowing why they need the contractor's information so badly.
Lola calls Lety and tells her that Fern's back and talking to Marcia. Marcia tries to make an excuse for Alicia, again saying how she's ambitious and trying to take initiative and be helpful and saw something on the internet that made her want to research further. Fern ain't buying and says he doesn't trust Alicia and Marcia tells him not to worry. He gives her a "yeah right" look, grabs his briefcase, and leaves.
Alicia manages to get hold of Ariel just as Fernando and Marcia walk up. Fernando yells at her again and she gives a fake swoon and calls Ariel "doctor". Naturally Ariel is confused as she continues with the ruse. She tells Fernando she can't talk to him because she's sick and tries to leave, but he won't let her go until she explains herself. She tells him that Marcia can explain everything, and Fernando says yeah, she did, but I want to see the internet article myself. Naturally, since she can't provide one, she swoons again. Marcia tells him Alicia can give it to him tomorrow and Alicia continues to pretend to be sick, but Fernando still doesn't buy it and full-on accuses her of spying for Ariel. She acts indignant and denies it and Marcia sticks up for her, but he accuses her of messing with Lety's computer. As she once again pretends to faint, Fernando gets disgusted and walks away, telling Marcia he's going home. Marcia yells at Alicia again for causing problems and asks if Fernando's correct that she's in league with Ariel which she denies, saying Fernando's loco, and complains that all the stress is making her sick. Marcia tells her to go to the doctor and Lety comes running up looking for Fernando. Marcia tells her Fern went home and isn't to be disturbed. I guess she's getting back at Lety for saying that to her earlier.
Saimon and Celso are standing by Fernando's car, still trying to figure out what to do. Fernando comes out and gets his keys from Saimon. Celso says something to him to distract him as he's climbing into his car, so he drives off without noticing the damage. As Fern's driving, he calls Omar and tells him about Alicia hunting for intel in Lety's office. He then arrives at a restaurant and has the valet park his car.
Alicia goes into the restroom and calls Ariel on her cell and tells him she needs an internet article to cover her butt. Ariel gets mad and tells her this is the last time he'll help her. He wants to know if Fernando suspects him and she tells him no (why didn't she tell him the truth? Maybe it would have gotten him to back off). Like the good gentleman he is, he hangs up on her, and she tells herself all this stress really is making her sick.
Fernando is at the restaurant, still talking to Omar on the phone. He tells him to get back together with her, and Omar reluctantly agrees. Omar goes to Alicia's desk to talk to her and she is still acting sick. He gives her a bracelet he supposedly brought back for her from New York, but she acts more and more ill. Marcia comes up as he's offering to take her home, but Marcia wants him to take her to a doctor. He helps Alicia to the elevator.
In reception, they get off the elevator, talking about doctors. Alicia wants him to take her someplace cheap, but he wants to talk her someplace with better care. She tells him she can't afford it and never mind, she just wants to go home, and he agrees to take her. When they leave, PM wonders out loud wha'sup. The cuartel are discussing the same thing up in the lobby, and then discuss it in the elevator as they also leave for the day.
At Casa Alicia, Omar helps her to bed and wants to know what's wrong. She says she's stressed because of her economic condition. He starts to tune her out when she mentions money, but then tunes her back in again when she also blames Fernando, Marcia and (the magic word) Ariel. Omar tells her he has a cure for stress, nudge nudge wink wink, and they wind up all huggy and lovey on the bed.
Lety's home now and talking to Tomas in her room she tells him how the cuartel thinks Alicia might be preggers. He offers to give the baby his name if Omar won't step up. Lety laughs at him, nicely not nasty, and they converse more about the mess Conceptos is in and the Panama trip. Tomas again asks her about the F.I. funds and she tells him she'll find out more from Fernando tomorrow.
Next day in front of Conceptos, Saimon and Celso are talking again about Saimon's little problem. Fernando comes up all pissed off and tells Saimon that someone's going to be fired and Saimon freaks as only a little dancing machine cricket can.
Missing Recap 27: Oops
Once again Fernando is threatening to fire someone, but to Saimon's relief, Fern's talking about one of the valets at the restaurant, thinking the damage happened to his car there. Saimon cries with relief that he doesn't have to pay for the repairs or get fired, and Fern thinks he's just upset for him. He lets him go on for a minute, then tells him to man up for god's sake.
Fern walks into his office and calls for Lety. She comes out talking a mile a minute and he tells her to take a chill pill, and mentions getting the internet article from Alicia. She goes to her office and Omar comes in, and Fern asks him how his mission with Alicia went. Omar uncheerfully tells him that she's now his novia and Fern offers him sarcastic congrats. He calls Omar a tiger, making Omar brag and snort (tigers growl Omar, they don't snort).
We're suddenly transported to the airport, where the police are busting some guys unloading contraband from Panama. They confiscate the lot and haul off the workers. The press are there interviewing the honchos and covering the whole thing.
Alicia gets into work all cheerful (amazing what a good boinkfest can do for one's disposition) and says hi to Marcia. Marcia asks how she's doing and if she went to the doctor and Alicia tells her she cancelled the doctor because she feels fine thanks to Doctor Omar and his miracle cure. Ok, she didn't word it like that, but it sounds pretty good, no? Anyway, Marcia can't believe it after everything that's gone on between those two already, but Alicia says he's her novio and made her feel better nudge nudge wink wink. Marcia walks away like "I'm just NOT dealing with this crap again!" Omar enters the lobby and Alicia blows him a kiss, and Omar looks around to see if anyone saw.
Sara comes up and tells Omar he has a call from Panama. He shushes her and tells her to be discreet, so since she can't actually say "Panama" she uses a weird code by popping her lips for the P, N and M. It's very odd. He goes into his office to answer the phone, and the person on the other end tells him there's a problem at the airport.
Marcia goes into Fern's office and he tells her about his car. She commiserates. They then talk about Alicia and she tells him that Alicia is just ambitious and his fears about her and Ariel are paranoia. She tells Fern about the one date Alicia and Ariel had and how rude he was to her and that's why she doesn't think Alicia's the spy. They talk more and get mushy. Meanwhile, Omar's watching the news in his office as sees a snippet about a raid at the airport and learns that the merchandise Fernando bought in Panama got confiscated by Customs.
Back in Fern's office, Marcia and Fern are still talking while Omar waits in the background with a concerned look on his face. Marcia's wondering when the cameras and stuff will get there so they can start work on the Bella Life commercials, and Fernando is placating her. She leaves and Lety listens in her office as Omar tells Fern what happened to their shipment, and Fern is so VERY not a happy camper, realizing they've just blown two million dollars they couldn't afford to blow. Lety runs out and calms Fernando down and tells them she'll try to find out where the merchandise is and if it's recoverable, then goes back to her office.
Down in reception, Saimon is bragging to PM about his narrow escape. They get close, pull apart, then get close again, only to spring apart again when someone from Bella Life walks in looking for Luigi. He's cute so PM starts to pull her usual unprofessional drooling bit, which pisses Saimon off. They fight as she calls Irma about the guy, then primps and tells Saimon to watch reception for her as she heads upstairs; Saimon throws a hissy fit.
Omar is trying to placate Fernando and Fern ain't placatin'. Omar tells him to calm down and Fernando pretends to be calm while still ripping Omar a new orifice.
Back at Alicia's desk, Marta comes out of the bathroom dressed in another Alicia knockoff. The usual crap flies, and Alicia tells Marta she looks ridiculous and teases her about her weight. Marta snaps back. The Bella Life guy interrupts them and I guess he's supposed to be really cute because both Alicia and Married Marta drool over him (hey, she's married, not dead! She can look!). He says something about the beautiful women that work there and they thank him. Sara and Lola come out and Sara's sniffing like a hound dog saying she smells a handsome man. They both drool while PM and Juana come up and drool as well (I guess at Conceptos the women's brains can also be shut down by certain female portions of their anatomy, just as the men's can be by their manly parts). Alicia makes a rude comment, of course, right in front of their client and I'm once again wondering how Conceptos is able to stay in business with such unprofessional people running around. Luigi is talking about the commercials with Irma when Marta brings BL Guy in (his name's actually Ernesto, but I like BL Guy). They begin to talk while Marta stares at him, totally appreciatin' his manly form. Luigi boots her out, so she goes out into the lobby where they all discuss him.
Lety comes out of her office and tells Fern that there's no way to get hold of the equipment that was confiscated because it's contraband. Omar comes in and Fernando and Lety both glare at him. Fern yells at him for dealing with smugglers, and Lety joins in. Fernando complains about losing 2 million dollars while Lety tries to calm him down. She continues to yell at Omar as well (is it really her place to do so? I know she "told him so" and all, but she is still just an assistant and he's a shareholder and Vice President... oh well I guess if the cuartel and drool unprofessionally over a hot client, she can yell unprofessionally at her VP). Alicia comes in and Fernando pretends to be all buddy buddy with Omar. She gives him the internet article he wanted, but to her chagrin he just rips it up without reading it (she did a lot of begging to Ariel to get that, darn it!) and kicks her out of his office. Omar leaves, Lety whines, and Fernando continues to freak. Omar passes by Alicia looking for Sara. She tries to pump him for info, but he's not giving any.
Lety goes and gets Luigi's valerian and comes back as Omar again goes into the office. Fern continues to ream Omar while Lety keeps trying to calm him down. She and Fernando both start chugging the valerian out of the bottle.
Isabella shows up in Reception and Saimon drools. She wants Luigi and Saimon falls all over himself trying to let Luigi know.
Again to Fernando's Hideaway, I mean office, where Fern and Lety are really REALLY mellow (ok, I mean stoned off their gourds). Lety squishes her face up hideously as she explains that it's impossible to get back the contraband equipment and the man who sold it to them has skipped town. Omar says he didn't know the guy was a phony, and Lety whines to him that she warned him. She freaks out because she can't see Fernando any more, but it's only that the computer screen is in the way. He laughs really mellow-like and moves it till they can see each other. Omar looks on nervously, knowing this nice little buzz-on isn't going to last, and continues to make excuses.
Isabella is in Luigi's office with Marcia, and Luigi is introducing her to BL Guy. He likee. He's eager to know when Conceptos can begin working on their commercials. Luigi mentions the camera and Marcia tells him it's on the way.
Omar decides to fight back and tells Fern he may have ordered contraband, but it was Fernando who was dumb enough to pay the whole amount in advance. Fernando tries to attack him, but Lety holds him back. Omar then goes after Fernando and Lety has to hold HIM off. Once again Lety gets stuck in one of my favorite sandwiches, only this time it's not a happy sandwich. She yells and pushes them apart and tells them to stop, they're both to blame, and she gets them to sit. She says maybe they can get a loan in the name of Filmo Imagen and Fernando wants her to get the promissory notes he gave her.
Lety calls home. Tomas isn't there, so she asks her mom to come down in a taxi and to give the papers to no one but her. Omar makes a dumb comment that makes Fern and Lety glare at him again. Lety wants to know what they're going to tell the Board, and Fernando tells her there's no way he's admitting to the board that his company was involved with contraband. They again discuss funding, and Lety reminds them that though Conceptos can't get any more loans, F.I. can.
Fernando wants to call a meeting, but Marcia and Luigi say they can't, they're busy. He goes storming off to Luigi's office, yelling, only to suddenly notice Isabella and BL Guy. He schmoozes, then Isabella and BLG leave.
Back at Casa Padilla, Pop won't let mom take a taxi with such important papers, and tells her he'll take them himself. She argues but there's no stopping Robopop when he's on a mission.
In the conference room where Fernando's finally been able to call that meeting, Fern is telling everyone that the camera equipment won't be coming because there was a problem in New York. They watch a news report about the raid on the big TV there and Omar looks nervous. They decide to get the equipment from a Mexican supplier. Downstairs, pop shows up and Celso wants to take the papers but Pop says no, I have to give them to her directly. Lety tells the meeting they'll have the equipment in no time and Luigi is happy, meanwhile Celso calls and lets Lety know about daddums waiting. Fernando's still abusing Omar, but for the sake of Luigi and Marcia he's making it look like he's patting him or hugging him. Fernando fantasizes about being interviewed by the news lady, who gives him hell for buying contraband and embroiling his family's business in illegal activities. He tells her he did it to save money and she hits him a couple of times with the file she's holding while reminding him that instead he lost 2 million dollars. Lety snaps him out of it while Marcia says something about luck and everyone knocks on wood (they do that there too? How funny!!). Fernando, Lety and Omar leave the meeting while continuing to give Omar total hell on toast. They remind him that they can't be tied to a scandal like this. Fernando tells Lety to attack and she acts like a vicious guard dog while he holds her back. She and Fernando then go downstairs as pop comes into reception. She's upset to see that it's daddums instead of mums and he explains why he came instead. She doesn't want to, but has no choice but to formally introduce him to Fernando. Pop overhears Fern asking PM to get them a cab, and he offers to drive Fern and Lety wherever they need to go. They, especially Lety, don't want to, but pop almost psychotically insists on it so they take him up on his offer they couldn't refuse (yes, he was that insistent, I'd have been worried about a horse head in my bed too).
Luigi and Marcia are still talking about the commercial and Alicia butts in, still pretending to be sick. She blames Marta and her little joke. Luigi and Marta don't really pay her much attention and discuss the equipment problem. Alicia looks interested and Marcia tells her not to tell anyone.
Fernando, Lety and Erasmo go to pop's car, pop bragging about his daughter the whole way. Fernando agrees with him and says Lety's his right hand. So, says pop, then why are you yelling at her all the time? Fernando makes excuses. Pop then tosses out the little plum that he does the accounting for a company called Filmo Imagen.
Missing Recap 28: My two dads
Erasmo is again yelling at Fernando for always yelling at Lety. Fernando's still 'splainin'. Pop then tells him how he spent 20 years working as an accountant, and now he works for Filmo Imagen. Fernando glares at Lety while her eye twitches. Fernando pretends nothing's wrong but Lety knows he's pissed and makes a face. They all pile into the car but it won't start. They jabber about it, then suddenly it starts and they're off.
Alicia's eating something she doesn't really like and trying to figure out how Ariel can help her financially, but she knows he's just going to tell her it's her problem.
Robo is yakking on and on while they pull up to the bank. Sounds like they're talking about Lety, and she's looking like she wishes she was anywhere else but there. Lety and Fernando get out of the car and she starts trying to explain about her dad, but he just yells at her while she remembers her conversation with Tomas about the topic. Finally he says whatever, though he's still not happy.
Alicia's on her cell in the bathroom telling Ariel how they cancelled the contract with the New York suppliers and will be buying the stuff locally, and Ariel gets mad and tells her that information is useless and not to bother him again. His attitude and yelling makes her sick to her stomach and she hurls into the sink. Marta, Lola and Irmita enter the ladies room and see her, in their minds confirming their suspicions that she's got a bun baking. They speculate on who the father might be.
Back at the bank Fernando's getting ready to sign the papers. Lety wants him to be sure this is what he wants to do, he is. They go back to the car and once again it won't start, but just as Fern's about to lose it, it starts again.
Omar sees Alicia and starts to walk away, but then rolls his eyes and goes back and asks if she's still sick. She says yes, a little. He tells her if she doesn't feel better soon she needs to see a doctor. As he's going back to his office, he walks by the cuartel, who are gossiping about her being pregnant. Suddenly it occurs to Sara that they should talk quieter because her boss might hear and we get a shot of his face showing us that he did.
Fernando and Lety are now at the Registro Publico de La Propiedad to register the loan. Fernando tells pop thanks for the lift sailor but we'll take a taxi back to Conceptos, but pops won't hear of it. Lety registers the loan and is told the paperwork will take 15 days. She tells Fern that, they discuss it, then leave. Outside, pop has the hood up and is working on the car. He asks Fernando to help him fix it and Lety asks him not to put Fern on the spot like that. Fern shouts at her that it's not a problem. He isn't yelling angrily, the engine's just loud, but Robo tells him not to shout at his daughter. A few minutes later Erasmo himself shouts at her and Fern comes to her defense. They agree that for the rest of the day neither one will shout at her. Lety drives while Fern and Pop pretend to push the car, and even though they don't actually move an inch, the car starts and all are happy. Pop drops them off at Conceptos, shakes Fernando's hand (getting oil all over it wa-wa-wa-wa) and leaves. Lety again tries to explain about giving dad a job and he says ok and walks away. She follows.
Sara goes to give some documents to Omar and he asks her to sit and asks about Alicia. She tells him it's only a guess the cuartel made because she seems to have all the symptoms. She leaves and he calls Alicia into his office and asks her if she's pregnant. She's surprised but answers immediately, "and what if I am?" He replies that he'd think it wasn't his. Omar insists that she confirm or deny the rumor but she remains silent. Fern calls Omar to tell him about the loan being done and she walks out. She goes out and yells at the cuartel for gossiping (sorry, I'm full-on with Alicia on this one. I'm worried that I find myself starting to side with the bad guys more and more often and I'm getting concerned for my immortal soul). She goes into Marcia's office and tells her all about it. Ariel calls just then while she continues to talk, and he hears something about pregnancy. He wants to know who's pregnant and Marcia tells him it's Alicia. He's impactado and wonders if it's his. Alicia says "please Marcia" like que the hell are you telling THIS guy for??? Alicia wants to keep talking but Marcia asks her to let her talk to her brother alone so she leaves, but she's worried he's going to tell Marcia that she's his spy. Instead he asks Marcia if she knows who the father is. Marcia wants to know why Ariel is suddenly so interested in Alicia. Rather than answer, he changes the subject and asks how the commercial is going. She tells him about the problems in New York and he says Humberto should now about it. He wants to call a meeting to find out the financial position of Conceptos. As always, he continues to whine about her novio.
Fernando tells Omar they have to find a lawyer to represent F.I. in the embargo of Conceptos. Omar makes a crack about the oil on Fernando's hands being from Lety's face, and Fern sets him straight. He tells him Lety's people are very straight and upright and now more than ever he feels good that the company is in Lety's hands. Omar tells Fern that Alicia might be pregnant. Fern makes fun of him and tells him he's going to give him a panalera (can't find a definition for that, but I'm guessing it's like a baby shower) [Julie says: I found pañalera = diaper bag]. Omar says the baby may not be his and I think Fernando tells him to man up and do the right thing.
Sara and Lola are pretending to be a mother with a baby when Marcia comes up so they run off. Alicia wants to know what she and Ariel talked about and Marcia doesn't really give her much of an answer. She asks if everything's ok and Marcia says yes. Marcia leaves just as Ariel calls Alicia and asks her for the name of the father of the baby. She says "Ariel", not like that's the answer but like she's just starting her sentence with his name, but he takes it the other way and goes off on her. She tries to interrupt but he won't let her and tells her to look someplace else for the father because he can't have a scandal. Omar comes over so she hangs up on Ariel mid-rant. Omar asks her to come to his office to talk, but she tells him she doesn't have anything to say to him. He looks constipated and says fine and leaves, leaving her looking smug. She's discovering that something that started out bad via the cuartel could turn out good for her after all. Omar's in his office looking upset and fidgety. Ariel's in his office looking upset and ugly little mermaid-y.
Marcia tells Fern that Ariel wants to call a board meeting, and she thinks it's a good idea to let Humberto know that they trouble they just went through (the infamous Benny video) is passing. Fernando argues with her and she wants to know if there are any problems she should know about. He denies it and they make up. She leaves and he calls Omar into his office, and yells for Lety to come in too. They talk about the equipment and when Omar gets there, he tells them about Ariel wanting a meeting.
Marcia asks Alicia in for a little girl talk. She asks if Alicia's pregnant or is it just gossip? Alicia says she's not sure and complains about the cuartel telling the whole world. Marcia tells her to get tested right away, she needs to be sure, and Alicia complains about the cuartel again. Marcia asks her if she got pregnant on purpose to trap Omar.
In reception Lola, Marta and PM are talking about something. Sounds like another product placement commercial so I ignore it. Once it's done, they start talking about Alicia and Omar and PM the Schizo gets pissed.
Alicia tells Marcia she didn't do it on purpose. Marcia wants to know if it's Omar's and Alicia answers that even if it is she doubts Omar will step up because he's denying the child is his. This makes Marcia mad, but Alicia admits that he might be right, she's had relations with another man besides Omar, during the time he and she were having problems, and this guy won't step up either. Marcia wants to know who the other guy is but Alicia won't tell. They talk more and Alicia tells Marcia she loves Omar, then she leaves. Out in the lobby, more crap flies between Alicia and the cuartel about the gossiping.
Fernando tells Omar and Lety that they should make sure the Bella Life commercial is a success by having a big promotion when it's released. He wants Carolina to handle the promotion, but Omar reminds him that she won't work with them any more after the Ibarra disaster. He says they can convince her.
Alicia goes into reception and Saimon starts to flirt with her, but PM makes a rude comment about finding a father for her child. Alicia snipes back, PM says something rude about Omar, more back and forth. Alicia leaves and Saimon and PM fight.
Fernando, Marcia and Omar enter the conference room while Fernando talks to his dad on the phone, telling him about Bella Life and the commercial they're doing. Once he hangs up, Fern wants to talk to Omar alone so he asks Marcia to go get Luigi and she agrees (I would have told him to use the bloody phone that's sitting right there on the table, but then again I'm lazy and I guess she wants the exercise). Fern and Omar discuss dad and the meeting, then Fern calls Lety in and asks about Carolina. She tells him Carolina refuses, as Omar predicted. Omar leaves and Lety starts going off on Fern about the loans and stuff, slowly creeping closer till she's right in his face. He tells her to respect his personal space and she backs off. They discuss the bank, the contraband, his presidency, and Ariel.
The cuartel are leaving and wish Marcia good night. Alicia gets off the elevator acting just fine till she sees Marcia, then she goes all swooney again. Marcia asks about the test and Alicia tells her it's positive.
Fernando and Lety are still talking, but they wind down and he leaves while she gives his back a worried yet dreamy look. He meets Marcia in the lobby but steps away so she can have a few more words with Alicia. Omar passes by Alicia and catches up to Fernando and tells him he talked to Alicia and she claims the baby is his. He, Marcia and Fernando all leave together, and Alicia gives his back a smug look.
The cuartel are all gossiping down in reception when Fernando, Marcia and Omar get off the elevator, say good night to everyone, and leave. Lety runs up and they all hear Paco and offspring saying something about Marta closing her eyes for a surprise. She doesn't want to, but the cuartel make her (Sara covers her eyes). Paco and child bring in a huge box, plant it in front of her, and let her open her eyes. She's impactada.
Lety's writing in her diary again, Fern is talking to Isabella and company again, Ariel and everyone leaves again, and Marcia once again wants to know why Fernando called Lety instead of her.
Fernando explains she was with Ariel and everyone else so he couldn't call her dressed the way he was. She says fine, but next time call her if he has a problem. He agrees and apologizes. They kiss and she leaves, and Fern complains to himself about everything that's going on. The next day Paco and Marta are arguing in Reception because he has to leave their daughter with her for a while. She says she can't have children at work but he leaves her there anyway. In come PM and Lola with their kids and I think it's funny how everyone always has baby sitting issues at exactly the same time.
Fernando comes into the office and gives Lety back her dad's clothes and thanks her again for her help. They talk about Panama and his ticket to get there. Marcia comes in so Lety hightails it back to her own office. Fern and Marcia talk about the commercial's storyboards and she wants him to do something but he says he can't because he's going to Pan... he almost says Panama, but then changes it to New York. He tells her he's going there to buy the cameras for Luigi.
Lola, Marta and PM are yelling at their little poster children for why birth control is a good thing, telling them to behave (yeah right!). The kids whine about always being stuck there.
Fernando and Marcia are still talking when Saimon rushes in with his ticket. They go through the whole "almost saying Panama but interrupting and saying New York" bit, then Saimon leaves.
Out in the lobby Lola and Marta are telling Sara about their kid problems. Luigi walks by and makes a stupid fea crack on his way to Fern's office. Lopez comes in and while he's talking Marta makes faces behind his back. He does his lick/squeak thing and leaves, and Sara makes fun of it.
Back in Fern's office, he's still trying to talk to Marcia but Luigi keeps making little lovey-dovey faces at him, and finally Fern asks him what he wants. Luigi says sorry, but he was just remembering how cute Fernando looked last night. Marcia starts to say something but Fernando cuts her off and starts complaining about how bad the night was. Luigi says ok, ok, and starts to tell Marcia all about it and Fern isn't happy. Marcia breaks them up and they then discuss the cameras, while Lety listens. Marcia says she would have preferred it if Fernando had dealt with national suppliers for the cameras, and Luigi agrees. Fern argues, I think using cost as his excuse. Marcia and Luigi leave. In the lobby, Luigi makes another comment about the cuartel. Alicia comes up and comments too.
In Fern's office, Lety comes out and discusses the bank. He tells her he's going to drive himself to the airport and wants her to have Saimon go there to pick up his car once he's gone.
Marcia, Luigi and Alicia are talking in Marcia's office about Fern's trip to New York. Alicia asks Marcia if Fern's suppliers are reliable and Luigi wants to know why she's so interested. Marcia teases her about her six semesters of finance. Fernando comes in to tell Marcia he's off and she tells him she wants to go with him. Fernando doesn't know how to talk her out of going, but Alicia begs Marcia not to go because the company will be in the hands of Lety again. Just at that moment Isabella calls to arrange a meeting with Marcia, so Marcia agrees to stay. Fern pretends to be disappointed and tosses her an air kiss and leaves.
Fern and Lety get off the elevator down in Reception and Fern gives Saimon instructions about his car, and warns him of dire consequences if anything happens to it. Does anyone else hear the sound of an anvil creaking over Saimon's head? He and Lety go through the game of stressing to everyone that he's going to New York (no, it wasn't at ALL obvious they were lying, I say with my eyes rolling with sarcasm). Lety tells him to be careful and hands him his briefcase and he leaves.
Marcia, Luigi and Alicia are still talking and Marcia tells Alicia not to let the cuartel get to her. They all go out into the lobby and Marta comes up to them dressed in another Alicia knockoff. Luigi and Marcia tell her she looks "de-vine" while Alicia hyperventilates. Alicia whines to Marcia as Marta poses and Sara snickers in the background. Marcia tells Alicia it's not important and she and Luigi pretty much just laugh at Alicia's humiliation. Alicia complains that now she'll have to throw this dress away too and Marcia gets mad and tells her she's stupid because she doesn't have any money to buy new ones. Alicia continues to whine as they walk away.
The kids are talking to Lola and PM in the lobby, sorry, I don't care what they say. PM tells Saimon to take the kids with him when he goes to pick up Fernando's car. Saimon doesn't want to because he knows Fern would kill him if he found out, but as always he wusses out and gives in.
Alicia calls Ariel and tells him that Fern has gone to New York to buy the video equipment for Luigi. Ariel tells her to find out more about the suppliers.
The cuartel come into the lobby and comment on how great Marta's dress is while Alicia looks on. She calls them witches (gee, never heard that one before).
Luigi is talking to the models, including Jazmin, about the commercial he's doing. They all kiss him goodbye and leave as Alicia walks in. She pumps him for more info on the cameras and Fernando's trip but he tells her it's not his area and he doesn't know anything.
Fernando calls Lety and she asks how he's doing in Panama. He yells at her that he's in NEW YORK! They talk about Omar and the business they're there on. He asks if she's heard from Saimon about his car. She says no and he reminds her the car is in Saimon's hands... SAIMON! She says she'll check on it and they hang up.
Saimon takes the kids out for ice cream and he tells them to finish eating before getting into the car so they won't make a mess in there. In the lobby, Lety asks Lola if she's heard from Saimon. Lola tells her Saimon took the kids with him in the car to run an errand, and Lety's eye twitches. Finishing the ice cream, Saimon and the kids all pile into Fern's car and there are scenes of them driving all over the place, laughing and having fun, and I still hear the sound of a creaking anvil ready to fall.
Fernando calls Marcia and she asks how his trip was, how his hotel is, and how Omar is. He tells her the negotiations are going well and that he'll be home tomorrow. She offers to pick him up at the airport but he tells her she doesn't have to and they hang up.
Saimon is talking to the kids about what a great car this is, and the rope holding that anvil finally breaks... As he's pulling into Conceptos he sees Jazmin and, as always, his brain totally switches off as other male parts take over. Distracted, he scrapes the side of Fern's car against the gate. He freaks while the kids give him hell and Jazmin continues to talk to Efren on the phone.
Alicia goes into Marcia's office and Marcia tells her about the Bella Life commercial. Alicia's not looking well and Marcia asks if she's ok. Alicia replies no, she has diarrhea, and blames the cuartel and Marta's little clothes joke. We're then treated to a Pepto Bismal commercial as Marcia whips a bottle out of her desk and pours Alicia a shot while extolling its virtues. Commercial over, Alicia again pumps Marcia for info about Fern's trip and the suppliers in New York. Marcia can't answer because she doesn't know much herself, and Alicia manages to make Marcia curious and she decides she wants to talk to Fernando. She calls Lety to find out where he's staying, but Lety doesn't tell her, claiming that Fernando said he wasn't to be disturbed. Naturally, this doesn't sit too well with Marcia, to put it mildly. Alicia fans the flames against Lety, of course. Marcia tries to call him on his cell but it's turned off. She then calls Lola and tells her to get the information on Fern and Omar.
PM is on the phone talking to Lola about the kids when Saimon comes in pantomiming swallowing a sword. PM is trying to find out what happened and Saimon is telling her and he's finding a way to blame the kids. Now he's pantomiming stabbing himself repeatedly as PM tells him how Fernando's going to kill him. The phone rings and, of course, it's Lety asking about Fernando's car. PM lets Lety know what happened and Lety decides to head out to see for herself.
As Lety's leaving, she hears Lola (speaking truly horrible but very funny English) trying to get hold of Fern or Omar in New York on Marcia's orders. Lety tells her Fernando doesn't want Marcia to know what he's doing and asks her to please tell Marcia that she couldn't find him at the hotel. Marta wants to know if he's got a girlfriend in New York and Lety says a little. (She says poco... what? A little girlfriend? Is he seeing a midget? What a bizarre answer). They tease her about her boss and she nervously goes along with it, then begs them not to say anything. Marcia intercoms Lola wanting to know the status, and Lola leaves to talk to her. Lety tells Marta and Sara about Saimon's accident. Marta freaks about the kids and Lety reassures her they're fine, then leaves to find out the damage.
Lola gives Marcia some excuse for why she couldn't get hold of Fernando. Alicia makes some kind of crack and Marcia asks Lola if Saimon ever got Fernando's car. Lola says she doesn't know and leaves.
PM and Lety see the car and are impactada to the point where Lety passes out and PM catches her. Saimon begs, Lety worries about how to tell Fernando, and the kids worry about Saimon. There's a lot of conversation with Lety, Saimon, the kids and Celso all talking at once. Lety tells Saimon Fern will be back tomorrow.
Back in the lobby, Alicia says her usual junk about Marta's little dress game and how unattractive Marta is, and Irma fires back and the insults start to fly. The cuartel head off to see the car for themselves as Alicia goes into Lety's office, looking for her. When she sees the office is empty, she starts riffling through her desk and other areas, looking for information.
The cuartel are all down looking at the car. Lola wants to know how it happened and one of the kids starts to answer, but Saimon hushes him and everyone talks at once. Lety shushes them all and asks Lola what she told Marcia, then asks her if Marcia asks again to please tell her that Fernando will call her later. Lety says she has to tell her boss what happened to the car. Saimon begs her not to and the cuartel join in with the begging. Whatever it is they're planning, Lety agrees to it and tells Celso to do something, then tells everyone they can't let Alicia or Dona Marcia find out. Lety then goes back to her office and finds Alicia going through her stuff.
Missing Recap 26: Feinting Fit
Once again crap is flying between Alicia and the caurtel like salmon at Seattle's Public Market (for anyone who doesn't know, the fishmongers toss the fish back and forth across the aisles). Alicia goes into Lety's office again, the cuartel talk down at the car again, and Lety catches Alicia in her office again.
Lety asks Alicia what she's looking for in her office. Alicia bluffs and says she's only looking for information that Marcia asked for. Alicia says it's not important and starts to leave, but Lety says she's going to call Marcia to find out exactly what it is she needs. Alicia stops her and insults fly (Alicia does a very funny imitation of Lety), but Lety doesn't back down and wants to know what information Marcia wanted. Alicia finally admits she's trying to find information on the suppliers in New York, looking for their phone number. Alicia makes a lame threat against Lety and leaves.
The cuartel are in the lobby continuing to sympathize with Saimon, and he's still blaming the kids for the accident. They offer to help him pay for the repairs on Fernando's car and he gives them all kisses.
Lety's on the phone trying to get hold of Fernando, but she isn't able to. Saimon is on the phone regarding the repairs. He swoons when he hears how expensive it's going to be. Lety's again trying to get Fernando, still no luck. She leaves a message asking him to call her asap.
Saimon wants to take the car to a friend of his that's cheaper, but the cuartel want him to take the car to a more professional mechanic and they'll help him pay for it, but Saimon tells them he doesn't have the money. Celso brings the kids in and Jazmin walks in apologizing, saying she feels like it's her fault. She then tells everyone what happened and the cuartel are pissed that Saimon tried to blame the kids for his mistake, and they withdraw their offer to help pay for the repairs and kick him out of Reception.
Lola, Marta and Sarah go back upstairs talking about what just happened, and Marcia comes up and asks Lola of she got hold of Fernando. Lola tells her Fernando will call her later tonight and this placates Marcia and she leaves. Lety comes up and Lola then asks her if SHE was able to get hold of Fern, to which Lety replies no. Lola gets her usual Lola freak on since she already told Marcia Fern would call her and Lety calms her down, and I'm thinking I'd never want that woman (Lola) with me during a crisis, all she does is freak without ever resolving anything.
Anyway, Fernando calls Lety all upset that she's disturbing him and she tells him what's been going on. He gets mad when he hears Marcia sent Alicia into her office to get intel on the suppliers and tells Lety he'll be home that night instead of tomorrow.
The cuartel are looking at shoe catalogs and Sara shows them a credit card or membership card or something. Since Alicia earlier made a crack about their cheap shoes, I'm assuming this is another one of their "let's annoy the holy crap out of Alicia" plots and skip the rest of the conversation. Saimon comes up and they yell at him and he whines about his problem.
Fern calls Marcia to complain about her checking up on him and she doesn't understand why he's so upset by her wanting to talk to him. He complains about her sending Alicia to Lety's office to spy. Marcia tells him Lety's inventing that story to make her look bad. They fight more and hang up, and Marcia's seriously p.o.'d. She calls Lety into her office and accuses her of lying to Fernando just to cause problems between her and him. Lety tells her it's not a lie, Alicia was in her office and told her she was there under Marcia's orders. Marcia angrily calls Alicia into her office and yells at her, wanting to know if it was true. Alicia doesn't want to talk in front of Lety but Marcia forces her to answer. Alicia claims she was just trying to help and Marcia tells her all she did was piss Fernando off. She tells Lety to leave. Lety tries to apologize for causing problems but Alicia cuts in and calls her a bruja and a few other choice words. Marcia cuts Alicia off and Lety goes. As soon as the door's shut, Marcia begins to rip Alicia a new one. Alicia tries to give some fake explanation but Marcia doesn't want to hear it. She tells Alicia she doesn't want her help any more because all she does is cause trouble between her and Fernando, then kicks her out of her office.
Lety's out telling the cuartel what happened. Alicia comes out and accuses them all of gossiping and insults again fly (which doesn't seem right, they WERE gossiping!). Saimon comes up wanting to talk to Lety but before he can the cuartel tell her what he did, trying to blame the kids and all. He hands her a flower and begs her not to tell Fernando but she only replies that Fern will be coming back tonight. Saimon freaks, and so does Alicia, who was listening to the conversation.
That night Saimon is down whining to PM in Reception. Jazmin comes in and sympathizes with him while PM just yells at him. Jaz starts to flirt with Saimon, just to piss PM off. Saimon starts talking about how he's going to be firm with Fernando when in walks the devil himself, along with Omar. Fern wants to know what's up and where's his car and Saimon starts to stutter. Both Fern and Omar tease him about the stuttering and head upstairs. Celso comes in and asks Saimon how it went, and just shakes his head with disgust when Saimon tells him he couldn't bring himself to say anything.
Alicia is on the phone to Ariel and leaves a message for him. Just then Fernando and Omar walk up and she pretends to be sick to try to get out of talking to him, but of course it doesn't work. He yells at her and she asks him to stop, he's hurting her head. Marcia comes up and asks to talk to him, so they leave and Omar starts to tease Alicia for not saying hi to him, then asks her what's wrong. She tells him she doesn't know and has to go see a doctor. He growls and snorts at her as only an oversexed Omar can and leaves, and she makes a face.
Marcia's hugging Fern and tells him she's glad he's back. He asks about the problem with Lety and Marcia admits Alicia was in her office, but not on Marcia's instructions. He wants to know why Alicia's so interested and Marcia basically says look sweetie, Alicia's my friend and she just thought she was helping me. Fern insists on knowing why they need the contractor's information so badly.
Lola calls Lety and tells her that Fern's back and talking to Marcia. Marcia tries to make an excuse for Alicia, again saying how she's ambitious and trying to take initiative and be helpful and saw something on the internet that made her want to research further. Fern ain't buying and says he doesn't trust Alicia and Marcia tells him not to worry. He gives her a "yeah right" look, grabs his briefcase, and leaves.
Alicia manages to get hold of Ariel just as Fernando and Marcia walk up. Fernando yells at her again and she gives a fake swoon and calls Ariel "doctor". Naturally Ariel is confused as she continues with the ruse. She tells Fernando she can't talk to him because she's sick and tries to leave, but he won't let her go until she explains herself. She tells him that Marcia can explain everything, and Fernando says yeah, she did, but I want to see the internet article myself. Naturally, since she can't provide one, she swoons again. Marcia tells him Alicia can give it to him tomorrow and Alicia continues to pretend to be sick, but Fernando still doesn't buy it and full-on accuses her of spying for Ariel. She acts indignant and denies it and Marcia sticks up for her, but he accuses her of messing with Lety's computer. As she once again pretends to faint, Fernando gets disgusted and walks away, telling Marcia he's going home. Marcia yells at Alicia again for causing problems and asks if Fernando's correct that she's in league with Ariel which she denies, saying Fernando's loco, and complains that all the stress is making her sick. Marcia tells her to go to the doctor and Lety comes running up looking for Fernando. Marcia tells her Fern went home and isn't to be disturbed. I guess she's getting back at Lety for saying that to her earlier.
Saimon and Celso are standing by Fernando's car, still trying to figure out what to do. Fernando comes out and gets his keys from Saimon. Celso says something to him to distract him as he's climbing into his car, so he drives off without noticing the damage. As Fern's driving, he calls Omar and tells him about Alicia hunting for intel in Lety's office. He then arrives at a restaurant and has the valet park his car.
Alicia goes into the restroom and calls Ariel on her cell and tells him she needs an internet article to cover her butt. Ariel gets mad and tells her this is the last time he'll help her. He wants to know if Fernando suspects him and she tells him no (why didn't she tell him the truth? Maybe it would have gotten him to back off). Like the good gentleman he is, he hangs up on her, and she tells herself all this stress really is making her sick.
Fernando is at the restaurant, still talking to Omar on the phone. He tells him to get back together with her, and Omar reluctantly agrees. Omar goes to Alicia's desk to talk to her and she is still acting sick. He gives her a bracelet he supposedly brought back for her from New York, but she acts more and more ill. Marcia comes up as he's offering to take her home, but Marcia wants him to take her to a doctor. He helps Alicia to the elevator.
In reception, they get off the elevator, talking about doctors. Alicia wants him to take her someplace cheap, but he wants to talk her someplace with better care. She tells him she can't afford it and never mind, she just wants to go home, and he agrees to take her. When they leave, PM wonders out loud wha'sup. The cuartel are discussing the same thing up in the lobby, and then discuss it in the elevator as they also leave for the day.
At Casa Alicia, Omar helps her to bed and wants to know what's wrong. She says she's stressed because of her economic condition. He starts to tune her out when she mentions money, but then tunes her back in again when she also blames Fernando, Marcia and (the magic word) Ariel. Omar tells her he has a cure for stress, nudge nudge wink wink, and they wind up all huggy and lovey on the bed.
Lety's home now and talking to Tomas in her room she tells him how the cuartel thinks Alicia might be preggers. He offers to give the baby his name if Omar won't step up. Lety laughs at him, nicely not nasty, and they converse more about the mess Conceptos is in and the Panama trip. Tomas again asks her about the F.I. funds and she tells him she'll find out more from Fernando tomorrow.
Next day in front of Conceptos, Saimon and Celso are talking again about Saimon's little problem. Fernando comes up all pissed off and tells Saimon that someone's going to be fired and Saimon freaks as only a little dancing machine cricket can.
Missing Recap 27: Oops
Once again Fernando is threatening to fire someone, but to Saimon's relief, Fern's talking about one of the valets at the restaurant, thinking the damage happened to his car there. Saimon cries with relief that he doesn't have to pay for the repairs or get fired, and Fern thinks he's just upset for him. He lets him go on for a minute, then tells him to man up for god's sake.
Fern walks into his office and calls for Lety. She comes out talking a mile a minute and he tells her to take a chill pill, and mentions getting the internet article from Alicia. She goes to her office and Omar comes in, and Fern asks him how his mission with Alicia went. Omar uncheerfully tells him that she's now his novia and Fern offers him sarcastic congrats. He calls Omar a tiger, making Omar brag and snort (tigers growl Omar, they don't snort).
We're suddenly transported to the airport, where the police are busting some guys unloading contraband from Panama. They confiscate the lot and haul off the workers. The press are there interviewing the honchos and covering the whole thing.
Alicia gets into work all cheerful (amazing what a good boinkfest can do for one's disposition) and says hi to Marcia. Marcia asks how she's doing and if she went to the doctor and Alicia tells her she cancelled the doctor because she feels fine thanks to Doctor Omar and his miracle cure. Ok, she didn't word it like that, but it sounds pretty good, no? Anyway, Marcia can't believe it after everything that's gone on between those two already, but Alicia says he's her novio and made her feel better nudge nudge wink wink. Marcia walks away like "I'm just NOT dealing with this crap again!" Omar enters the lobby and Alicia blows him a kiss, and Omar looks around to see if anyone saw.
Sara comes up and tells Omar he has a call from Panama. He shushes her and tells her to be discreet, so since she can't actually say "Panama" she uses a weird code by popping her lips for the P, N and M. It's very odd. He goes into his office to answer the phone, and the person on the other end tells him there's a problem at the airport.
Marcia goes into Fern's office and he tells her about his car. She commiserates. They then talk about Alicia and she tells him that Alicia is just ambitious and his fears about her and Ariel are paranoia. She tells Fern about the one date Alicia and Ariel had and how rude he was to her and that's why she doesn't think Alicia's the spy. They talk more and get mushy. Meanwhile, Omar's watching the news in his office as sees a snippet about a raid at the airport and learns that the merchandise Fernando bought in Panama got confiscated by Customs.
Back in Fern's office, Marcia and Fern are still talking while Omar waits in the background with a concerned look on his face. Marcia's wondering when the cameras and stuff will get there so they can start work on the Bella Life commercials, and Fernando is placating her. She leaves and Lety listens in her office as Omar tells Fern what happened to their shipment, and Fern is so VERY not a happy camper, realizing they've just blown two million dollars they couldn't afford to blow. Lety runs out and calms Fernando down and tells them she'll try to find out where the merchandise is and if it's recoverable, then goes back to her office.
Down in reception, Saimon is bragging to PM about his narrow escape. They get close, pull apart, then get close again, only to spring apart again when someone from Bella Life walks in looking for Luigi. He's cute so PM starts to pull her usual unprofessional drooling bit, which pisses Saimon off. They fight as she calls Irma about the guy, then primps and tells Saimon to watch reception for her as she heads upstairs; Saimon throws a hissy fit.
Omar is trying to placate Fernando and Fern ain't placatin'. Omar tells him to calm down and Fernando pretends to be calm while still ripping Omar a new orifice.
Back at Alicia's desk, Marta comes out of the bathroom dressed in another Alicia knockoff. The usual crap flies, and Alicia tells Marta she looks ridiculous and teases her about her weight. Marta snaps back. The Bella Life guy interrupts them and I guess he's supposed to be really cute because both Alicia and Married Marta drool over him (hey, she's married, not dead! She can look!). He says something about the beautiful women that work there and they thank him. Sara and Lola come out and Sara's sniffing like a hound dog saying she smells a handsome man. They both drool while PM and Juana come up and drool as well (I guess at Conceptos the women's brains can also be shut down by certain female portions of their anatomy, just as the men's can be by their manly parts). Alicia makes a rude comment, of course, right in front of their client and I'm once again wondering how Conceptos is able to stay in business with such unprofessional people running around. Luigi is talking about the commercials with Irma when Marta brings BL Guy in (his name's actually Ernesto, but I like BL Guy). They begin to talk while Marta stares at him, totally appreciatin' his manly form. Luigi boots her out, so she goes out into the lobby where they all discuss him.
Lety comes out of her office and tells Fern that there's no way to get hold of the equipment that was confiscated because it's contraband. Omar comes in and Fernando and Lety both glare at him. Fern yells at him for dealing with smugglers, and Lety joins in. Fernando complains about losing 2 million dollars while Lety tries to calm him down. She continues to yell at Omar as well (is it really her place to do so? I know she "told him so" and all, but she is still just an assistant and he's a shareholder and Vice President... oh well I guess if the cuartel and drool unprofessionally over a hot client, she can yell unprofessionally at her VP). Alicia comes in and Fernando pretends to be all buddy buddy with Omar. She gives him the internet article he wanted, but to her chagrin he just rips it up without reading it (she did a lot of begging to Ariel to get that, darn it!) and kicks her out of his office. Omar leaves, Lety whines, and Fernando continues to freak. Omar passes by Alicia looking for Sara. She tries to pump him for info, but he's not giving any.
Lety goes and gets Luigi's valerian and comes back as Omar again goes into the office. Fern continues to ream Omar while Lety keeps trying to calm him down. She and Fernando both start chugging the valerian out of the bottle.
Isabella shows up in Reception and Saimon drools. She wants Luigi and Saimon falls all over himself trying to let Luigi know.
Again to Fernando's Hideaway, I mean office, where Fern and Lety are really REALLY mellow (ok, I mean stoned off their gourds). Lety squishes her face up hideously as she explains that it's impossible to get back the contraband equipment and the man who sold it to them has skipped town. Omar says he didn't know the guy was a phony, and Lety whines to him that she warned him. She freaks out because she can't see Fernando any more, but it's only that the computer screen is in the way. He laughs really mellow-like and moves it till they can see each other. Omar looks on nervously, knowing this nice little buzz-on isn't going to last, and continues to make excuses.
Isabella is in Luigi's office with Marcia, and Luigi is introducing her to BL Guy. He likee. He's eager to know when Conceptos can begin working on their commercials. Luigi mentions the camera and Marcia tells him it's on the way.
Omar decides to fight back and tells Fern he may have ordered contraband, but it was Fernando who was dumb enough to pay the whole amount in advance. Fernando tries to attack him, but Lety holds him back. Omar then goes after Fernando and Lety has to hold HIM off. Once again Lety gets stuck in one of my favorite sandwiches, only this time it's not a happy sandwich. She yells and pushes them apart and tells them to stop, they're both to blame, and she gets them to sit. She says maybe they can get a loan in the name of Filmo Imagen and Fernando wants her to get the promissory notes he gave her.
Lety calls home. Tomas isn't there, so she asks her mom to come down in a taxi and to give the papers to no one but her. Omar makes a dumb comment that makes Fern and Lety glare at him again. Lety wants to know what they're going to tell the Board, and Fernando tells her there's no way he's admitting to the board that his company was involved with contraband. They again discuss funding, and Lety reminds them that though Conceptos can't get any more loans, F.I. can.
Fernando wants to call a meeting, but Marcia and Luigi say they can't, they're busy. He goes storming off to Luigi's office, yelling, only to suddenly notice Isabella and BL Guy. He schmoozes, then Isabella and BLG leave.
Back at Casa Padilla, Pop won't let mom take a taxi with such important papers, and tells her he'll take them himself. She argues but there's no stopping Robopop when he's on a mission.
In the conference room where Fernando's finally been able to call that meeting, Fern is telling everyone that the camera equipment won't be coming because there was a problem in New York. They watch a news report about the raid on the big TV there and Omar looks nervous. They decide to get the equipment from a Mexican supplier. Downstairs, pop shows up and Celso wants to take the papers but Pop says no, I have to give them to her directly. Lety tells the meeting they'll have the equipment in no time and Luigi is happy, meanwhile Celso calls and lets Lety know about daddums waiting. Fernando's still abusing Omar, but for the sake of Luigi and Marcia he's making it look like he's patting him or hugging him. Fernando fantasizes about being interviewed by the news lady, who gives him hell for buying contraband and embroiling his family's business in illegal activities. He tells her he did it to save money and she hits him a couple of times with the file she's holding while reminding him that instead he lost 2 million dollars. Lety snaps him out of it while Marcia says something about luck and everyone knocks on wood (they do that there too? How funny!!). Fernando, Lety and Omar leave the meeting while continuing to give Omar total hell on toast. They remind him that they can't be tied to a scandal like this. Fernando tells Lety to attack and she acts like a vicious guard dog while he holds her back. She and Fernando then go downstairs as pop comes into reception. She's upset to see that it's daddums instead of mums and he explains why he came instead. She doesn't want to, but has no choice but to formally introduce him to Fernando. Pop overhears Fern asking PM to get them a cab, and he offers to drive Fern and Lety wherever they need to go. They, especially Lety, don't want to, but pop almost psychotically insists on it so they take him up on his offer they couldn't refuse (yes, he was that insistent, I'd have been worried about a horse head in my bed too).
Luigi and Marcia are still talking about the commercial and Alicia butts in, still pretending to be sick. She blames Marta and her little joke. Luigi and Marta don't really pay her much attention and discuss the equipment problem. Alicia looks interested and Marcia tells her not to tell anyone.
Fernando, Lety and Erasmo go to pop's car, pop bragging about his daughter the whole way. Fernando agrees with him and says Lety's his right hand. So, says pop, then why are you yelling at her all the time? Fernando makes excuses. Pop then tosses out the little plum that he does the accounting for a company called Filmo Imagen.
Missing Recap 28: My two dads
Erasmo is again yelling at Fernando for always yelling at Lety. Fernando's still 'splainin'. Pop then tells him how he spent 20 years working as an accountant, and now he works for Filmo Imagen. Fernando glares at Lety while her eye twitches. Fernando pretends nothing's wrong but Lety knows he's pissed and makes a face. They all pile into the car but it won't start. They jabber about it, then suddenly it starts and they're off.
Alicia's eating something she doesn't really like and trying to figure out how Ariel can help her financially, but she knows he's just going to tell her it's her problem.
Robo is yakking on and on while they pull up to the bank. Sounds like they're talking about Lety, and she's looking like she wishes she was anywhere else but there. Lety and Fernando get out of the car and she starts trying to explain about her dad, but he just yells at her while she remembers her conversation with Tomas about the topic. Finally he says whatever, though he's still not happy.
Alicia's on her cell in the bathroom telling Ariel how they cancelled the contract with the New York suppliers and will be buying the stuff locally, and Ariel gets mad and tells her that information is useless and not to bother him again. His attitude and yelling makes her sick to her stomach and she hurls into the sink. Marta, Lola and Irmita enter the ladies room and see her, in their minds confirming their suspicions that she's got a bun baking. They speculate on who the father might be.
Back at the bank Fernando's getting ready to sign the papers. Lety wants him to be sure this is what he wants to do, he is. They go back to the car and once again it won't start, but just as Fern's about to lose it, it starts again.
Omar sees Alicia and starts to walk away, but then rolls his eyes and goes back and asks if she's still sick. She says yes, a little. He tells her if she doesn't feel better soon she needs to see a doctor. As he's going back to his office, he walks by the cuartel, who are gossiping about her being pregnant. Suddenly it occurs to Sara that they should talk quieter because her boss might hear and we get a shot of his face showing us that he did.
Fernando and Lety are now at the Registro Publico de La Propiedad to register the loan. Fernando tells pop thanks for the lift sailor but we'll take a taxi back to Conceptos, but pops won't hear of it. Lety registers the loan and is told the paperwork will take 15 days. She tells Fern that, they discuss it, then leave. Outside, pop has the hood up and is working on the car. He asks Fernando to help him fix it and Lety asks him not to put Fern on the spot like that. Fern shouts at her that it's not a problem. He isn't yelling angrily, the engine's just loud, but Robo tells him not to shout at his daughter. A few minutes later Erasmo himself shouts at her and Fern comes to her defense. They agree that for the rest of the day neither one will shout at her. Lety drives while Fern and Pop pretend to push the car, and even though they don't actually move an inch, the car starts and all are happy. Pop drops them off at Conceptos, shakes Fernando's hand (getting oil all over it wa-wa-wa-wa) and leaves. Lety again tries to explain about giving dad a job and he says ok and walks away. She follows.
Sara goes to give some documents to Omar and he asks her to sit and asks about Alicia. She tells him it's only a guess the cuartel made because she seems to have all the symptoms. She leaves and he calls Alicia into his office and asks her if she's pregnant. She's surprised but answers immediately, "and what if I am?" He replies that he'd think it wasn't his. Omar insists that she confirm or deny the rumor but she remains silent. Fern calls Omar to tell him about the loan being done and she walks out. She goes out and yells at the cuartel for gossiping (sorry, I'm full-on with Alicia on this one. I'm worried that I find myself starting to side with the bad guys more and more often and I'm getting concerned for my immortal soul). She goes into Marcia's office and tells her all about it. Ariel calls just then while she continues to talk, and he hears something about pregnancy. He wants to know who's pregnant and Marcia tells him it's Alicia. He's impactado and wonders if it's his. Alicia says "please Marcia" like que the hell are you telling THIS guy for??? Alicia wants to keep talking but Marcia asks her to let her talk to her brother alone so she leaves, but she's worried he's going to tell Marcia that she's his spy. Instead he asks Marcia if she knows who the father is. Marcia wants to know why Ariel is suddenly so interested in Alicia. Rather than answer, he changes the subject and asks how the commercial is going. She tells him about the problems in New York and he says Humberto should now about it. He wants to call a meeting to find out the financial position of Conceptos. As always, he continues to whine about her novio.
Fernando tells Omar they have to find a lawyer to represent F.I. in the embargo of Conceptos. Omar makes a crack about the oil on Fernando's hands being from Lety's face, and Fern sets him straight. He tells him Lety's people are very straight and upright and now more than ever he feels good that the company is in Lety's hands. Omar tells Fern that Alicia might be pregnant. Fern makes fun of him and tells him he's going to give him a panalera (can't find a definition for that, but I'm guessing it's like a baby shower) [Julie says: I found pañalera = diaper bag]. Omar says the baby may not be his and I think Fernando tells him to man up and do the right thing.
Sara and Lola are pretending to be a mother with a baby when Marcia comes up so they run off. Alicia wants to know what she and Ariel talked about and Marcia doesn't really give her much of an answer. She asks if everything's ok and Marcia says yes. Marcia leaves just as Ariel calls Alicia and asks her for the name of the father of the baby. She says "Ariel", not like that's the answer but like she's just starting her sentence with his name, but he takes it the other way and goes off on her. She tries to interrupt but he won't let her and tells her to look someplace else for the father because he can't have a scandal. Omar comes over so she hangs up on Ariel mid-rant. Omar asks her to come to his office to talk, but she tells him she doesn't have anything to say to him. He looks constipated and says fine and leaves, leaving her looking smug. She's discovering that something that started out bad via the cuartel could turn out good for her after all. Omar's in his office looking upset and fidgety. Ariel's in his office looking upset and ugly little mermaid-y.
Marcia tells Fern that Ariel wants to call a board meeting, and she thinks it's a good idea to let Humberto know that they trouble they just went through (the infamous Benny video) is passing. Fernando argues with her and she wants to know if there are any problems she should know about. He denies it and they make up. She leaves and he calls Omar into his office, and yells for Lety to come in too. They talk about the equipment and when Omar gets there, he tells them about Ariel wanting a meeting.
Marcia asks Alicia in for a little girl talk. She asks if Alicia's pregnant or is it just gossip? Alicia says she's not sure and complains about the cuartel telling the whole world. Marcia tells her to get tested right away, she needs to be sure, and Alicia complains about the cuartel again. Marcia asks her if she got pregnant on purpose to trap Omar.
In reception Lola, Marta and PM are talking about something. Sounds like another product placement commercial so I ignore it. Once it's done, they start talking about Alicia and Omar and PM the Schizo gets pissed.
Alicia tells Marcia she didn't do it on purpose. Marcia wants to know if it's Omar's and Alicia answers that even if it is she doubts Omar will step up because he's denying the child is his. This makes Marcia mad, but Alicia admits that he might be right, she's had relations with another man besides Omar, during the time he and she were having problems, and this guy won't step up either. Marcia wants to know who the other guy is but Alicia won't tell. They talk more and Alicia tells Marcia she loves Omar, then she leaves. Out in the lobby, more crap flies between Alicia and the cuartel about the gossiping.
Fernando tells Omar and Lety that they should make sure the Bella Life commercial is a success by having a big promotion when it's released. He wants Carolina to handle the promotion, but Omar reminds him that she won't work with them any more after the Ibarra disaster. He says they can convince her.
Alicia goes into reception and Saimon starts to flirt with her, but PM makes a rude comment about finding a father for her child. Alicia snipes back, PM says something rude about Omar, more back and forth. Alicia leaves and Saimon and PM fight.
Fernando, Marcia and Omar enter the conference room while Fernando talks to his dad on the phone, telling him about Bella Life and the commercial they're doing. Once he hangs up, Fern wants to talk to Omar alone so he asks Marcia to go get Luigi and she agrees (I would have told him to use the bloody phone that's sitting right there on the table, but then again I'm lazy and I guess she wants the exercise). Fern and Omar discuss dad and the meeting, then Fern calls Lety in and asks about Carolina. She tells him Carolina refuses, as Omar predicted. Omar leaves and Lety starts going off on Fern about the loans and stuff, slowly creeping closer till she's right in his face. He tells her to respect his personal space and she backs off. They discuss the bank, the contraband, his presidency, and Ariel.
The cuartel are leaving and wish Marcia good night. Alicia gets off the elevator acting just fine till she sees Marcia, then she goes all swooney again. Marcia asks about the test and Alicia tells her it's positive.
Fernando and Lety are still talking, but they wind down and he leaves while she gives his back a worried yet dreamy look. He meets Marcia in the lobby but steps away so she can have a few more words with Alicia. Omar passes by Alicia and catches up to Fernando and tells him he talked to Alicia and she claims the baby is his. He, Marcia and Fernando all leave together, and Alicia gives his back a smug look.
The cuartel are all gossiping down in reception when Fernando, Marcia and Omar get off the elevator, say good night to everyone, and leave. Lety runs up and they all hear Paco and offspring saying something about Marta closing her eyes for a surprise. She doesn't want to, but the cuartel make her (Sara covers her eyes). Paco and child bring in a huge box, plant it in front of her, and let her open her eyes. She's impactada.

Missing Recap 21: Panama is famous for hats - not cameras
Once again everyone's talking in Fern's office. Then it's "days later" again and they get the good news that the commercial's a hit.
Lola and Jazmin once again get into it.
Back to the meeting, Luigi is stroking the dead animal on his shoulder (ok, it's an animal skin wrap, but que the hell, looks like a dead animal to me!). Ricky Armstrong from Bella Life again says they're very happy with the commercial Luigi did and they want Conceptos to produce their entire international line. Fern is happy! Lety comes in and Fern tells her they need to get B.L. signed to a contract right away. Ricky continues to sing Conceptos' praises. He kisses Lety's hand goodbye and leaves. Once he's gone, Fernando crawls across the table to hug Luigi and dances with him. They stop as Ricky comes back in for Luigi. When they both leave, Fern slides back across the table to hug Marcia. Ok, I think Jaime Camil was having just a little too much fun with the table sliding thing ;o). Now we get a Fern/Omar sandwich with both Lety and Marcia as the filling, and I'm hating both actresses at the moment (yes, jealousy is an ugly thing). Marcia leaves and Lety jumps and squeals and Fern claps his hands and tells her to comport herself seriously.
Lola is on the phone to Saimon, asking him to join them at a cuartel meeting. She hangs up and calls the cuartel to a meeting in the usual place.
Back in Fern's office, Lety is working a calculator and based on her face it's not good. I'm guessing she's figuring out that the commercials will help, but not completely pull Conceptos out of its debt.
Back in the bathroom, the cuartel have come up with a trap for Jazmin and are trying to suck Saimon into their evil plot. They ask him to try to get Jaz interested in him. He says something really stupid like "but Jaz is practically married to El Cheque", which naturally puts Lola into full-on Psycho Mamma mode. I ignore most of it, sorry. Alicia walks in and wants to know what Saimon's doing in the Ladies' Room. They give her some smartassed answer and she leaves.
Back in Fern's office, Lety is explaining things. Marcia's making faces as Lety talks and decides she doesn't want to hear it any more. She asks Fern if he's coming to her house tonight and he makes some excuse, not telling her about his deal with Luigi. They kiss and she leaves, leaving just Fern, Omar and Lety to chat. They discuss the situation more and Lety crunches more numbers.
Back in Reception, the cuartel are still trying to drag Saimon down to their level. As always, he says something stupid to piss PM off with jealousy (remember, this is the same woman who was busted for trying to screw Omar in his office. I know, I know... I have to let it go, sorry). PM hits Saimon as she leaves.
They're still talking really fast in Fern's office about costs. Fern has been juggling metal balls and he and Omar start to cutely toss them back and forth to each other. Sorry, it was so cute I was distracted from the conversation. I still think they're trying to figure out how to make the Bella Life contract work to fix their situation. Lety continues to crunch numbers like a true accountant (former accountant here, so I know).
Saimon is practicing what he'll say to Jazmin, using his hairbrush as her. She comes in and sees him. They talk and he asks her out that night, or at least he asks her boobs out because that's where he's looking. I'm not sure what all he's saying but she likes hearing it. In the end, though, she tells him it's impossible to go out with him. He asks why as a car begins honking in the background. She says she'll see him tomorrow and they give gooey goodbyes.
I guess Lety came up with figures that Fern liked because he's happy happy joy joy dancing in his office. She comes in from her office and teases him and starts dancing too, and he gets impatient with her. As Fern starts to walk out he asks how Filmo Imagen is doing. She tells him fine and offers to show him some paperwork on it, but he says no he'll just leave it in her hands. He leaves and she gets that lovey look again where you KNOW she's thinking "tan divino" even if she isn't saying it out loud.
Erasmo and Tomas are talking at home about computers and phones, all stuff they bought and are setting up for F.I. Pop says something that makes Tomas nervous, still questioning the whole set up of F.I. The dvd skips and suddenly Lety's at home talking to her dad. He's still wondering what the connection is between F.I. and Conceptos and she tries to give an explanation. He then wants to know about the company's capital and Lety and Tomas give nervous laughs. Lety escapes the room by saying she's going to help her mom in the kitchen. There's some mushy conversation between mother and daughter. Mom then calls everyone into the kitchen to eat. Robopop tries to block Tomas from entering the kitchen, but you can't keep that man away from Julieta's cooking and he manages to get in anyway. Lety pulls him back out, however, to ask why her dad is asking so many questions. She then tells him about the Bella Life contract and how much it's for. I think she's telling Tomas it's an improvement but still not enough to fully save Conceptos.
Now we're at Marcia's where Fern and she are eating. She tells him she's proud that he's starting to act more responsibly (little does she know, huh?). They talk about the commercials and I'm not sure what else.
Tomas tells Lety that she's crazy for getting involved in all this (I think) and they talk more about the Bella Life contract and Conceptos's problems. Lety also tells him about Ariel and the trouble he's causing. Tomas then mentions Alicia and starts drooling all over her picture (ok, I know Chris was freaked by the fact that Tomas had laminated Ali's picture, but he HAD to. Can you imaging the shape it would be in with all that drool if he hadn't???). Lety gets pissed because she's continually asked him to not get hung up on that woman, so she tells her mom that Tomas isn't hungry and is leaving. Tomas protests but she tells him "mole or Alicia". Now, there's only one thing stronger than Little Tomas, and that's Big Tomas' stomach, so he chooses the mole for the time being.
Speaking of Alicia, she's home crying about the dress (and talking to it) that Marta copied. After the humiliation she received, she has no choice but to throw the dress away. Ariel calls just then and tells her she has to continue giving him information on Conceptos. She actually stands up to him for a minute and tells him she won't do it any more because she doesn't want to get fired and be unemployed, unless he can give her a job. He tells her he'll pay her to be his part-time lover. (Ok, don't you wonder what their backstory is? Was he in love with her before she got married and was convinced she only married the guy for money and now calls her whore all the time? Or is he just a creep? Talk amongst yourselves...). I believe he threatens her with the usual "you broke Lety's computer" crap.
Lola the Ever-Psycho catches Cheque and Jazmin kissing down in Reception and goes postal and Marta and PM have to hold her back (personally I say let her cut loose, what the heck!). Jaz says hi to everyone, ostentatiously kisses Cheque and leaves. Lola continues the psycho tirade on Cheque and demands that he pay more money to her for the kids. He remains calm, gives some lame excuse and leaves.
Fernando and Lety are in the conference room with Ricky and his accountant (or partner?) to verify the contract. They discuss Latin America and Europe. They reach and agreement and shake on it.
In the lobby, Saimon is drooling on Jazmin. She almost kisses him, but not quite, then leaves by the stairs as Lola, Marta and PM come off the elevator. I get the idea he still doesn't want to join their evil empire, because they all hit him.
Back in Fern's office, he and Lety are discussing the contract and are happy about it. Omar comes in with a brochure on 35 mm cameras and mentions how expensive they are. Lety and Fernando both say they can't afford that much. Omar then says he knows of a cheaper supplier, and comes up with a rather shady proposal to buy the stuff in Panama. Lety is convinced it's not a good idea because the stuff could be contraband merchandise. Fernando lets himself be swayed by the low price and tells Omar to go to Panama and see to the deal. Lety is really unhappy with this decision and tries to talk Fern out of it, but he just gives her his usual "tranquila", it'll all be fine.
Omar goes out into the lobby and says hi to Alicia. Based on the look on her face, I'd say she insults him. He just walks away, and she then gives crap to the cuartel while Marta eats. Nothing new here, move along people, nothing to see.
Lety looks over the camera catalogs and discusses them with Fernando. Omar comes back in with information on the Panamanian merchandise and hands it to Lety. Fern tries to take it from her but she refuses to let go of it, so he finally practically falls over trying to pry it from her unhappy hands. Side note, is it illegal to import stuff from Panama? Or is it just the cameras that are illegal? I'm totally confused as to what the problem is with this stuff. Anyway, Omar is still taking about his idea, Fern seems to like it, Lety is still an unhappy camper and totally not on board with the plot. The rest of the conversation is Fern and Omar trying to talk her into it. She goes back to her office as Fern and Omar continue to discuss.
Marcia walks into the lobby to talk to Alicia, who's not feeling well. I'm not positive of the conversation, but I think she tells Marcia she threw away her dress because of Marta. Marcia leaves to talk to Lola about something. Alicia then follows Marcia to her office, whining the whole way, about not having any money and her financial situation is grave. I THINK Alicia asks to be given a better paying job than Secretary to the President, after all she has six semesters blah blah. Marcia grabs her head like Alicia's giving her a headache. Whatever it is Alicia's asking for, she lays the guilt foundation by saying hey, you're supposed to be my friend, you're a woman, you're a professional, give me this chance. It sounds like Marcia uses Fernando as her excuse for why she can't. Luigi walks in and Marcia tells Alicia to go back to work.
Lety brings some information out to Fernando, I'm not sure what it is or what they talk about, but he gives it back to her. She mentions something about 4 million dollars and he replies with something about Ariel and the presidency. It sounds like they're worrying about the creditors and talking about the negotiations, and Lety's once again saying she doesn't much care for Omar's idea. Fernando tells Omar not to tell anyone what he's doing or where he's going, especially Marcia or Luigi. To cover the fact that it's not quite legit, they decide to tell everyone Omar's going to New York, not Panama. Fernando continues to talk to Lety, but she just continues to look worried.
Luigi is in Marcia's office and they talk about Bella Life and how much money the contract is for.
Omar and Fernando are still talking in Fern's office. Lety comes out and tells them something about Ricky Armstrong's contract and the bank. The rest of the conversation is something along the lines of how Omar needs to get back with Alicia, and "matrimonio" is mentioned. They're teasing Omar, and he doesn't look happy. He leaves and Fernando asks Lety what's up with the bank. She's worried, and he tells her not to be. Luigi and Marcia come in and Luigi does his usual crap when he sees Lety. Fernando tells them that Ricky will be coming in to sign the contract and they all clap. He takes them into the conference room, not really sure why because he just kisses Marcia, Luigi makes some smart comment, he and Fernando say something, Marcia and Fernando kiss again, and she leaves. No business done so why didn't they just stay in his office? Anyroad, Luigi tries to kiss Fernando and he pulls away. Luigi says he can't help it, he's excited because the Fiesta of the Queen of the Night is tonight. Fern tries to get out of it or get it postponed but Luigi is firm.
Missing Recap 22: Saimon's excellent lunch hour
Omar, Fernando and Lety are again talking about not telling anyone about Panama and how Omar should marry Alicia. Marcia and Luigi come in and clap about the contract again, and kiss in the conference room again. Luigi reminds Fernando that the party is tonight and he has to dress up as the Queen of the Night. Fern wants it postponed but Luigi squeals as only a gay tv stereotype can and remains firm. Fern says fine, what do I have to do? Luigi tells him nothing except... he has to wear a fuchsia dress, feather headgear, makeup, everything pink. Fern argues and I think he complains he'll look ridiculous, and Luigi says he'll be discreet and not tell anyone, and goes on to tell Fern how great he'll look.
Omar goes out and talks to Alicia, and whatever he's selling, she's not buying. He gives her one of his so-not-sexy snorts and she pretty much tells him to take a long walk off a short pier. He's laying it on thick and says they have to get together when he gets back from New York. As he leaves she gets a look on her face like she's not sure whether to believe him or not.
Saimon gets off the elevator and runs into Marta and Lola. He dances with Marta while Lola asks him how his fake romance with Jazmin is going. They discuss that it needs to be a secret.
Luigi, surrounded by models, is on the phone to Rulli making arrangements for Fernando's big evening. Saimon comes in and asks to talk to Jaz for just a minute. Luigi says no but then gets called to a meeting so they talk anyway. Saimon asks her out to lunch and I guess she agrees. He says he'll meet her in Reception.
Next Saimon's in the lobby talking to Lola, Marta and Sara. He tells them he's meeting Jaz in Reception. I think he claims he's broke so Lola gives him money to take her out.
Fernando, Lety, Luigi and Marcia are in the conference room with Ricky and his associate. Ricky signs the contract and Luigi claps. Everyone's happy.
Back in the lobby Lola, Marta and Sara are talking. Lola wants Marta to call Cheque and tell him about Jaz and Saimon's lunch date. Marta and Sara don't care for the idea, and personally I'm getting really sick of this Lola Psycho storyline and wish it would end. She finally talks Marta into it.
Cheque is in his office when Marta calls, disguising her voice, and tells him that Jaz is out with another man and what restaurant they're at. The cuartel are listening and start laughing maniacally into the phone before she hangs up. Cheque is immediately insanely jealous and wants to find out who she's stepping out with.
Lety gives a check to Fernando for his signature and they talk about the bank. Lola comes in and asks if Lety can go to lunch, and she tells her she can't go. When Lola leaves Fernando tells her she can go if she wants, heck they can even eat in his office. There's a tv so she can watch movies with her friend. Clueless Lety says "really Don Fernando?" and he says no and something along the lines of "get real!" Marcia and Luigi come in, Luigi doing his little happy dance. Marcia leaves and Luigi teases Fernando about the fiesta. He also leaves and Fernando tells Lety to order them some food so they can keep working.
In reception, PM is jealous and giving Saimon hell. The cuartel come in and chat and Irma is not happy with their plot. Sara threatens Saimon to get it right or else and PM hits him in the stomach, then they leave. Jazmin comes out of the elevator talking to Cheque on the phone. She's telling him she's having lunch with some of the other models. He wants to know where, but she doesn't answer him, just says he sounds funny, what's wrong? He says nothing as he's balling up all his papers in anger. He tells her he'll be eating in his office. She hangs up and Saimon drools and tries to eat his tie. The cuartel head over to the restaurant and wait so they can watch Efren catching Jazmin with Saimon.
The waiter brings lunch into the conference room where Lety has set the table with flowers, candles and champagne. The waiter leaves and Fernando comes in and says how romantic the table looks. He snaps his fingers and music plays, then he snaps again and they get nice mood lighting. He hands her a white tulip, saying "a pretty flower for a pretty woman". He holds her chair for her as she sits, and he's happy to see the champagne. They talk romantically, then toast with the champagne and drink. He puts his arm around her and pulls her tight and they both pucker up hideously for a kiss. He fades out because the real Fernando is telling her to snap out of it.
C'mon, y'all knew it was a fantasy, but it was a good one. She's leaning in for the non-existent kiss and almost falls out of her chair. Fern grabs her to keep her from falling and she tells him she got him his lunch. He points to the second lunch and asks who it's for. She says her, she thought she'd eat with him. She then apologizes and excuses herself, saying she'll eat in her office, but he tells her to stay and keep him company. But then he immediately orders her to go and get a file or something and while she's gone he starts picking disgustedly at the food she ordered him (while I hate the sushi he normally eats, I have to agree with him that this stuff looks pretty nasty). When she gets back he pushes his food away, so she pushes hers away too and he winds up telling her to just get rid of it.
Outside the restaurant, the cuartel (sans Irma) are cackling about their evil plot. We cut to Saimon and Jazmin, who are at a different restaurant altogether. Back to the cuartel who don't understand why Saimon and Jaz aren't there. Meanwhile, they see Cheque arrive and try to hide. They try to tell Lola to go talk to him, but she refuses. He comes out and sees them, though, and realizes it was all a trick to cause problems between him and Jaz. He yells and leaves. Back to Saimon and Jaz, I don't try to translate. They flirt, he falls off his chair, she laughs, I'm done.
The cuartel get back to Reception and talk smack about Saimon. PM gives a beating to his motorcycle helmet that's sitting there. Cheque is back at work and his phone rings. It's Lola, back at her desk, wanting more money from him. He tells her he can't afford it and hangs up on her, and of course she freaks as only Lola the Psycho Drama Queen from Hell can. Lety comes out and hands Lola some information.
In Reception, PM watches Saimon and Jazmin come in, Saimon is dropping rose petals in her path. PM freaks. Jaz gets on the elevator and PM freaks even more which makes Jazmin laugh. Saimon falls over while drooling over Jaz and she helps pick him up. She gets on the elevator and leaves and PM gives Saimon all manner of holy hell.
Up in the lobby Jazmin is asking Lola for her check. Lola tells her she can't have her check because Efren hasn't yet paid the kids' tuition (boy the cuartel sure have a lot of power getting to decide who gets their paychecks and who doesn't). She, Sara and Juana yell at her to leave, and Marta joins in. She calls Cheque, whining, but Lola just takes the phone and starts giving him hell. Jaz then runs off to complain to Lopez.
Lety hands a folder to Fernando. The phone rings, Lety answers, it's Omar. Lety's tone gets very chilly. She hands the phone to Fernando, who shakes his head at her attitude. Fernando is apparently happy with the terms of the deal Omar has made. Lety makes ugly faces while Fern tells her about it. He asks her what's wrong and she starts giving him a list, so he tells her yeah, yeah, tranquila, Omar's a smart man, and professional (how long have you known this guy Fern? Sounds to me like you don't know him at all). She says "yeah" and leaves.
Jaz is whining to Lopez. Alicia is giving Lola crap about Jaz's check, and I'm actually full-on with Alicia on this one. Fernando and Lety come out and Alicia tries to tell Fern what's going on, but he just tells her to answer the phones. He and Lety leave and Lopez and Jazmin come up. He tells Lola to give Jaz her check, but Lola refuses. Ok, I have to know what this woman has over Lopez that she can pull something like that and not get fired!) They argue back and forth as Luigi and Marcia come up and Jazmin fake-cries. Alicia tells them what's going on and Luigi says something about the cuartel being fea and Jazmin being bella and that's the difference. Marcia tells Lola she wants to talk to her in her office and Luigi tells Jazmin to quit crying and go to work (Jaz works???).
In Marcia's office Lola tries to justify what she did, telling her how Cheque isn't helping to fund the kids. She says Marcia should understand how Lola feels since women are always trying to steal Fernando from her. Macia says she understands more than anyone what Lola is going through, but that shouldn't make her stoop to Jaz's level, and they need to all try to get along at the office. I get the feeling Marcia doesn't like Jaz either. Lola agrees and goes back to her desk and gives the check to Jaz. Alicia gives the cuartel hell, then follows Marcia back to her office and wants to know what she said that made Lola give the check to Jaz. Marcia yells at her for butting in. Alicia defends herself saying she knows what it's like to need money. Marcia is not sympathetic and says something about being more responsible, or being less irresponsible, I'm not sure. She tells Alicia that she wants back all the money she owes her, and tells her she can go to a store where Conceptos has credit and buy some new dresses. Alicia thinks she's going to get this stuff as a present, but Marcia sets her straight and tells her she's going to deduct the cost from her monthly paychecks. She then kicks Alicia out of her office.
The cuartel are in the lobby and Saimon comes in. Lola's pissed because she gave him money and he went to the wrong restaurant. As always, the clueless dancing machine appears to be totally surprised that they're pissed by this.
Lety and Fernando are at the bank talking to someone, asking for a loan. The guy doesn't want to give it to them without a guarantee, which Fernando can't or won't give. (Julie says: Just a wild guess, but they are probably asking Conceptos to put up some collateral to secure the loand, because their credit is shaky.) Fern threatens to take his business to another bank but Lety talks to the guy and is able to convince him to float the loan.
That night, in reception, the cuartel are hanging around when Rulli comes in. Stuff gets said that I don't get, then he asks Irma where Luigi is. She tells him and he leaves.
Lety and Fernando are discussing what the plans are for tomorrow. He gives her his two cell phones and tells her to put her home numbers into them, which she does. Luigi comes in doing his little patented dance of happiness. Marcia comes in as well and talks about getting Isabella del Conde for the Bella Life commercial. Luigi and Fernando both agree she's beautiful and perfect for it. Marcia wants Fernando to go with her tonight to talk to Isabella, but Luigi says he can't because he's doing something with him. Marcia wants to know what's going on and Luigi starts to tell her but Fernando shuts him up. Luigi tells her there won't be any other women, he guarantees it (as he turns his back and smirks). Fern gives him a dirty look as she says fine, kisses Fernando, and leaves. Lety makes a rude face (honestly, it's no wonder Fernando lost his company, he's so damned clueless he can't even tell his assistant is in love with him despite her evil looks to other women and scary-dreamy faces she gives him. What a dolt! Adorable gorgeous dolt, but still a dolt. Anyroad...). Luigi also jokingly leans in for a kiss but Fern just ignores him. Lety butts in to hand his phones back and says good night. Luigi says good night and tells her to be careful going home. Fern wants to know why he's so concerned and Luigi makes some rude crack about her that I don't get, so we miss out on the punchline, sorry. Luigi drags Fernando off to his studio.
In the studio, Rulli, Luigi and two women are swooning over the fuchsia dress Fernando has to wear. Fern comes in and says hi and Rulli and Luigi hold up the dress while one of the girls holds up the boots. Fern says for me? Don't be ridiculous! He says something that shocks everyone and Luigi tells Rulli he's having a mimiski. Rulli explains that the outfit is for him, and I think he tells him the color will look good on him (I love this actor but he's very hard for me to understand). They finally make Fernando live up to his part of the bargain and he takes the costume and shoes. Luigi tells the two ladies, Selene and Lorena, to get Fernando made up. Fern doesn't want makeup but Rulli and Luigi tell him he needs it to complete the outfit. They go back and forth about it but finally Fern gives in and says something about the women. One goes and hugs him and Fern says something like this isn't so bad. Rulli laughs and Luigi tells Fern to be careful, he might be in for a surprise. Fern looks at the "women", impactada, and I shake my head and repeat that he's a dolt. Those are two of the fugliest "women" I've ever seen and it should have been obvious even to our dear clueless hero that they were transsexuals. Fernando screams as they all laugh.
Missing Recap 23: Fernando, Queen of the Night
This opening sequence went really far back! Once again Marcia tells Alicia to pay her back and tells her she has no dignity and will never know what good credit is. Alicia tells Marcia that Marcia has a lot of money while she's just a poor woman disguised (?) as rich. Marcia gets pissed and says she doesn't have enough money to take care of irresponsible friends and boots her out of her office again. Saimon's with the cuartel again, complaining to them that they're using him like "tube meat" (what??? Boy could I take that the wrong way if I wanted to! Hee hee!) just to get back at Cheque. Fern and Lety again convince the bank to give them a loan with just a promissory note instead of a guarantee. Rulli talks to the cuartel again.
New shot of Marcia on the phone, setting up a meeting with Isabella Del Conde (I'm guessing on the spelling). Alicia comes in and gives her a check, I guess to pay her back the money she borrowed. They start talking and Lola comes in to get a folder. I don't get any of the conversation, except Alicia mentions her "boyfriend" Omar. Alicia then finally leaves.
The cuartel are talking more stuff about Alicia and there is more evil cackling. Not sure, but it's possible they're talking about where Alicia will be buying her clothes and Marta is deciding to buy more from there too.
Fern's very happy they got the money from the bank. He and Lety talk about the embargo to F.I. and the loans. She's worried about it all and he's not. Omar calls, which earns more worried faces from Lety. Fernando tells Omar to pay in full for the equipment and Lety REALLY doesn't like this. She yells her objections, hoping Omar will also hear her, but Fern tells her to shut it and he's going to do it anyway.
Marcia tells Alicia she's leaving to go see Isabella. Alicia tries to convince Marcia to let her be the model for the commercial, and once again drops her 6-semesters bomb and says she's very photogenic. Lety, waiting for the elevator, makes faces in the background. Marcia tells Alicia to talk to Fernando about it. Alicia doesn't want to, knowing what Fernando will say. She whines about being a secretary for the rest of her life and Marcia breaks down and says she can come with her as her "assistant" to meet Isabella. Alicia is happy and they both leave with Lety. The cuartel are in the lobby and grab Lety when she comes by. They sit her down and talk to her stuff I don't get, but I think they're filling her in on their evil dress plot, or their evil Saimon/Jazmin plot, I'm not sure.
Now we're finally back to the final scene from last night, where Luigi and Rulli give Fernando the clothes he's to change into. They turn him over to Luigi's makeup artists, who Fern thinks are girls, and once again Fern is surprised by the revelation that they aren't. Luigi tells them to make Fernando look "guapissima" and gives Fernando directions to the party. He mentions "a bet is a bet" so I think he's making sure Fern won't run off and will be there as promised. He and Rulli leave as the women start working on Fernando. Fern looks very nervous.
The cuartel are still chatting in the lobby, not sure what about. Rulli and Luigi come off the elevator and Luigi says something rude. Lety gets a surprised look on her face, I'm not sure why unless it's because she though Fernando was going to be with Luigi. Anyway, the cuartel mention they're getting a taxi and Rulli offers to give them a ride. Luigi nixes the idea and Rulli makes a "stop being a jerk" face at him. Luigi says "I should introduce you to the cuartel of feas of Conceptos" and Rulli says "no, not feas, bellas". Luigi tells him he'll give him a mimiski. (If you're watching this on DVD, you HAVE to pause this when it shows the cuartel's reaction to Rulli's compliment. Lety's face is unreal! I guess she's supposed to be impactada at his kindness but instead she looks like she's done way too many drugs in the 60's, or she's been shot with an overdose of thorazine, with her vacant gaze and gawping mouth. I was just waiting for a little stream of drool to come stringing out. It's hilarious! Anyway...) Luigi says something else rude and Rulli says something else nice and Luigi laughs and says "lets go". The cuartel, who if you'll remember were mad at Rulli from the first time they met and he didn't tell them who he was and they were all over him, have decided that he's not so bad after all, and Lety points out that he's very handsome. I agree and think it's a shame they had to bring some stranger in at the end of the show instead of this guy. He must have moved on to bigger and better things by then. Oh well.
The ladies have gotten Fernando all dressed and made up. He's facing way from the mirror, and he does NOT look good, IMHO. He's in a pink pageboy wig and has very heavy tranny makeup on, as well as the pink clothes. He closes his eyes and turns to face the mirror while the ladies put the feathered headdress on him. It's actually not a headdress, it's a very large feathered collar, think Elizabeth the First but with feathers instead of lace. Once it's on they tell him to open his eyes. He does and screams in horror. The girls get upset that he doesn't like it. He thanks them angrily and slowly tries to leave, wobbling on the high heels. He enters his office to grab his cell phone and has trouble reaching across his desk because of the tight dress. He tries to slip the phone into a pocket that's not there and it falls to the floor. Funny moments ensue as he tries to bend down to get it. He winds up hiking the dress really high to show some SERIOUSLY hairy legs (but very cute!! Have I mentioned I'm prejudiced?) and struggles to get the phone. Finally, success, and it occurs to him to put the phone in his purse. He makes it to the lobby, still almost falling over on the heels. Suddenly Celso comes in and sees him and calls him Senorita. Fern runs onto the elevator and the door closes before Celso can catch him. Celso heads for the stairs. Fernando is now outside trying to make it to his car, still wobbly. Celso comes up from behind and when Fern turns to face him, doesn't recognize him and asks what he's doing there. Fern gives a high, falsetto giggle, then decides he can't carry it off and just tells Celso it's him. Celso's shocked and says something I don't get, at first using the female version, then changing it to the male. He says something else I don't understand but it makes Fern mad and he hits Celso several times with his purse, then tells him he's going to a party and not to say anything to anyone. He then hikes up his skirt and gets in his car and drives away.
At some photo shoot, Isabella the famous model (who happens to be none other than our own dear Jaime's sister Isabella Camil) is working. Marcia and Alicia walk up and talk to Isabella's representative. Marcia introduces Alicia as her assistant and Alicia immediately begins to make an ass of herself. Just as she starts to mention her six semesters, Marcia cuts her off (thank you Marcia!). Marcia says she wants to watch the photo shoot so the rep leaves and Marcia pretty much tells Alicia to keep her trap shut and sit.
Lety gets home and talks to Tomas. As usual she tells him everything she's been sworn by Fernando not to tell, including the Panama stuff. Tomas tells Lety he's worried that this business Fern is about to enter into (I think he means the cameras, but he could mean the embargo, I'm not sure) could involve them in legal problems. He also teases her about being in love with Fernando.
Speaking of, Fern gets to the club and asks around for Luigi and runs into Francis. I guess she's some kind of famous transvestite or tv personality or something, but sorry, I don't know who she is.
Isabella finishes her shoot and the rep brings her over to meet Marcia. Alicia practically attacks her before the intros are finished. Isabella asks about the internationally famous president Fernando Mendiola and Marcia gives her some answer I don't get. The rep starts to tell Isabella about what Conceptos is doing for Bella Life. Alicia starts talking her usual Alicia crap, but Marcia interrupts her, I think to ask Isabella to join them for dinner. Isa excuses herself to change and remove her makeup and Marcia's looking like she's pissed she ever brought Alicia. Alicia begins posing on the couch Isa had been posing on and I think she's probably saying something like "anything she can do I can do better". Marcia grabs her and tells her not to talk any more. Alicia says ok, sorry Marcia, but then goes back to posing. Marcia walks away in disgust.
Back at the drag party, there's a floor show going on up on a stage and that's where Fern finally finds Luigi. While Fern's trying very hard to get his attention, Luigi introduces tonight's special guests: First is Francis the #1 transvestite in Mexico, and she waves to everyone. He then introduces the newest transvestite, "Lilly". The lights turn onto Fern and everyone starts cheering for him and calling him "Lilly, the queen gay." Fern wants to run but Luigi tells him if he does he'll tell everyone he's Fernando Mendiola, president of Conceptos, so Fern agrees and Luigi pulls him up on stage. Fern tries to leave and everyone boo's. I'm not positive, but I think the rest of the conversation is that Fern says the bet says he has to wear the clothes and makeup to be Queen of the Night, but it doesn't say he has to be made a fool of on stage, and he leaves. People still boo and jeer him.
Isabella is having dinner with Marcia and Alicia at a restaurant while Marcia talks about the B.L. project. Isabella answers but looks bored. Marcia tells her she'll get to meet Fernando later.
Back to the party, Fern's still trying to leave and smacking people in the face with his feathers. He chats with Francis again. She wants a hug and Fern looks uncomfortable and sneaks past her. He's still edging toward the door when the phone rings. It's Marcia wanting to know where he is. He says he's out with Luigi, where is she? She says she's with Isabella. They arrange to all meet at his house later, I think he says "in an hour" but I'm not sure. He finally gets outside but he's unable to leave because several cars have blocked the exit. He asks the doorman to move the cars but he says he can't and Fern has to talk to the owners. Fern doesn't want to go back in there but the doorman refuses so Fern unhappily gives up and goes back in to find the owners.
Meanwhile, Ana Lety calls Marcia and invites herself and Ariel over to join the party at Fern's house. Ariel doesn't want to go but A.L. tries to talk him into it, mentioning the famous model.
Back at the party, Luigi is talking at a table and Fern sneaks up and tries to quietly get his attention, but of course Luigi makes a big production out of it. Fern tells him about the car problem and Luigi wants him to stay. Fern tells him about the meeting at his house and Luigi invites everyone at the table back to Fern's, but Fern tells them it's a work meeting so they decide they don't want to go. He tells Luigi about Isabella and how they have to get her to sign before she goes to Europe, but Luigi doesn't care and won't help. Fern then locates one of the owners, Bugambilia, and tries to get her to move her car but she doesn't want to and Fern nearly gets into a fight with her. Luigi comes and breaks it up but still no one will move their cars.
Marcia gets on the phone and also tries to get Ariel to come to Fern's house, but says he and Fern will have to get along tonight. Ariel agrees after she pouts and drops Isabella's name. Ana Lety says she's glad he's going and instead of heading to the front door, heads toward the bedroom. Ariel straightens her out, haha, non-funny blonde moment.
Back at the party, Fern is still trying to leave and runs into Francis one more time. For someone so famous she must not be liked very much because no one's ever talking to her, she's just drinking at the bar alone. Fern decides he'll move the cars out of the way himself, but the valet tells him if he tries it he'll call the cops, so poor Fernie winds up having to walk.
At Fernando's house, Marcia lets herself in along with Isabella and Alicia. She calls for Fernando, but of course he's not there yet. She offers Isa something to drink and tries calling Fern again.
He's walking down the street, bitching because he can't get a cab. He tries to flag one down, but they take one look at him and take off. A man walks by and Fernando tries to stop him, but the man runs away. His phone rings and natch it's Marcia wanting to know where he is and that they're at his house. He tells her something about Conceptos and a problem with Luigi and something about his car. She asks him to hold while she answers the door and he hears that it's A.L. and Ariel. He yells at Marcia about Ariel being there but she just has him wait as she introduces the two to Isabella. Ariel turns on what's supposed to be charm and surprisingly she isn't sickened by it. Marcia tells the group Fernando's car died and he's having trouble getting a taxi. Ariel suggests Marcia go and get him, but Fernando (rather nastily, I guess he's pissed she invited Ariel) turns her down and says he'll be there shortly, and hangs up on her.
He's still walking the streets as some men come up and chase him, laughing at him. They keep trying to touch him. Another man comes up and tells the others to leave him alone and chases them away. Fern walks toward him trying to explain what's happening, but the man gets frightened that Fern's trying to attack him and runs away. Next he hears a police siren and a cop car drives up, lights flashing.
Missing Recap 24: Whiskered corncake rescues damsel in distress
Once again Marcia and posse enter Fern's abode. Fern is still scaring away cabs and passersby, while he talks to Marcia again. A.L. and Ariel show up again , Fern's attacked again and scares away his savior again. The cops drive up again and Fernando hides behind a tree. The cops don't see him and drive off. What a night, he's bitching.
Fernando calls Lety and asks her to help him. He asks her to pick him up because otherwise he might wind up in jail. She offers to have his dad pick him up but he asks her to come, alone, in a cab because he isn't presentable.
Meanwhile back at Fernando's crib, Isabella is looking bored and Ariel is making his usual mean little mermaid digs. Nothing new here so I'll move on.
Lety tells Mom Fern's in trouble and needs her. Lety gets out quietly and gets a taxi to pick him up. When the taxi stops at the address Fern gave her, he runs up to the cab laughing with relief and she screams, not recognizing him. He finally tells her to recognize his voice and convinces her it's him. He tells her about the bet with Luigi and the crazy night he's had. Then he tells her about Isabella and how he has to get home. She finally opens the door to let him in and he has a lot of trouble because of the feathered collar. Don't ask why he didn't just take it off, you'd miss a lot of small car/big feather contraption humor if he did. He finally manages to squeeze in while the cab driver laughs.
Back at Fern's, Ariel is flirting with Isabella. She's not repulsed and is actually flirting back (ew!). More blonde humor from Ana Lety, who can't tell her own sister from Alicia. Fern calls and tells Marcia he's at Conceptos. She asks if they should leave and he tells her no, he'll be there in 20 minutes.
Lety and Fern are trying to get in through the gate but it's locked and they can't find Celso. While Lety's off looking for him, cops arrive and try to arrest Fern because he can't prove who he is. Lety shows up at the last minute, explains everything, shows her ID, and saves his hide.
Back at Casa Padilla, Robo's talking in his sleep while mom looks at the clock. In the cab, Lety & Fern are headed to her house so he can clean up and change into some of her dad's clothes. She asks him to be quiet, so of course his huge feathered collar hits stuff and makes a lot of noise. Lety FINALLY offers to remove the darned thing for him. He goes into the bathroom and she hides the collar in the kitchen and heads upstairs to get him some clothes. She talks to mom, who will get the clothes for him. Lety is trying to remove Fern's makeup with hand cream (I guess on her duty statement this falls under "other duties as required") as mom comes down with the clothes. She drops the clothes in shock (and let's face it, horror as well; Fern is one fugly woman!) when she sees him, but Lety and Fern offer some kind of explanation and she calms down.
Pop comes down and they tell Fern to hide because Pop will never understand if he see's Fern dressed like that. Instead of sending him into the kitchen or bathroom, for some reason mom tells him to hide under this very tiny coffee table. It's only about 4 foot long and Fern's 6 foot, so it's funny to see him try to scrunch up under there and obviously Pop's eyes are blinded by sleep if he can't see the horrible pink apparition sprawled under the furniture, but he doesn't. Fern hears Robo asking Lety if her boss still mistreats her and complaining about his bugging her this late, but she answers that her relationship with her boss is just fine. Just then, of course, Marcia calls but Fern can't answer and she gets pissed. Everyone's at his house waiting for him. Pop hears the phone and wants to know what it is, but Mom and Lety convince him it's just the tv upstairs, so he and Mom go back up to bed. With the hand cream not working, Lety finally smears avocado all over his face (she saw the idea on tv). Pop comes down again and Fern hides in the bathroom but once again pop goes clueless back up to bed.
Fern is dressed in Erasmo's clothes which are way too small for him, and he vaguely and strangely rather resembles Tomas except without the Mini-Me tie. He asks Lety if he can borrow some money for a taxi and promises to pay her back and return the clothes tomorrow. He worries about what her dad thinks of him as a boss, and promises not to shout at her any more. He leaves and Lety gets all dreamy and gives us a Don Fernando Tan Divino. She carries all his costume stuff up to her room and starts writing in her diary but Fern shouts at her from the street and she goes back downstairs and opens the door to him. He comes in and I don't get the whole conversation but basically he's telling her he loves her. They hug and just as they're about to kiss we hear pop calling her. As you've probably already figured out, it's another Fantasy Moment. Pop comes into her room proving my theory that he's blind because he doesn't even notice all this pink feathery stuff lying about. He tells her to go to bed and when he leaves, she gets all dreamy-faced again.
Fern finally gets home and surprises everyone being dressed the way he is. They're all just staring at him and he's nervously trying to act like everything's normal, and he even hugs Ariel in his nervousness and Ariel's reaction is pretty funny. He's making excuses, and rather than pass through Ana Lety and Isabella, who are blocking the stairs, he tries to climb over the railing and you can hear his pants rip. I don't know if that was on purpose or not, but seeing the look on Patty Navidad's face, there's a good chance it wasn't. Either way it's pretty funny as Fern finally manages to get upstairs.
Marcia follows him and wants to know the truth of what was going on. He tells her all about his night and the things he had to do because of Luigi. They go back downstairs and chat for a bit, but mostly Isabella says she's tired and doesn't want to talk about work. They agree to continue the conversation tomorrow and everyone gets ready to leave. Fernando is talking to Marcia and lets slip something about imports that will be arriving, and Ariel's ears immediately prick up. He tells Alicia to investigate further and to keep him informed, then he goes off with Isabella. Back upstairs, Marcia is upset because Fern called Lety for help instead of her.
Once again everyone's talking in Fern's office. Then it's "days later" again and they get the good news that the commercial's a hit.
Lola and Jazmin once again get into it.
Back to the meeting, Luigi is stroking the dead animal on his shoulder (ok, it's an animal skin wrap, but que the hell, looks like a dead animal to me!). Ricky Armstrong from Bella Life again says they're very happy with the commercial Luigi did and they want Conceptos to produce their entire international line. Fern is happy! Lety comes in and Fern tells her they need to get B.L. signed to a contract right away. Ricky continues to sing Conceptos' praises. He kisses Lety's hand goodbye and leaves. Once he's gone, Fernando crawls across the table to hug Luigi and dances with him. They stop as Ricky comes back in for Luigi. When they both leave, Fern slides back across the table to hug Marcia. Ok, I think Jaime Camil was having just a little too much fun with the table sliding thing ;o). Now we get a Fern/Omar sandwich with both Lety and Marcia as the filling, and I'm hating both actresses at the moment (yes, jealousy is an ugly thing). Marcia leaves and Lety jumps and squeals and Fern claps his hands and tells her to comport herself seriously.
Lola is on the phone to Saimon, asking him to join them at a cuartel meeting. She hangs up and calls the cuartel to a meeting in the usual place.
Back in Fern's office, Lety is working a calculator and based on her face it's not good. I'm guessing she's figuring out that the commercials will help, but not completely pull Conceptos out of its debt.
Back in the bathroom, the cuartel have come up with a trap for Jazmin and are trying to suck Saimon into their evil plot. They ask him to try to get Jaz interested in him. He says something really stupid like "but Jaz is practically married to El Cheque", which naturally puts Lola into full-on Psycho Mamma mode. I ignore most of it, sorry. Alicia walks in and wants to know what Saimon's doing in the Ladies' Room. They give her some smartassed answer and she leaves.
Back in Fern's office, Lety is explaining things. Marcia's making faces as Lety talks and decides she doesn't want to hear it any more. She asks Fern if he's coming to her house tonight and he makes some excuse, not telling her about his deal with Luigi. They kiss and she leaves, leaving just Fern, Omar and Lety to chat. They discuss the situation more and Lety crunches more numbers.
Back in Reception, the cuartel are still trying to drag Saimon down to their level. As always, he says something stupid to piss PM off with jealousy (remember, this is the same woman who was busted for trying to screw Omar in his office. I know, I know... I have to let it go, sorry). PM hits Saimon as she leaves.
They're still talking really fast in Fern's office about costs. Fern has been juggling metal balls and he and Omar start to cutely toss them back and forth to each other. Sorry, it was so cute I was distracted from the conversation. I still think they're trying to figure out how to make the Bella Life contract work to fix their situation. Lety continues to crunch numbers like a true accountant (former accountant here, so I know).
Saimon is practicing what he'll say to Jazmin, using his hairbrush as her. She comes in and sees him. They talk and he asks her out that night, or at least he asks her boobs out because that's where he's looking. I'm not sure what all he's saying but she likes hearing it. In the end, though, she tells him it's impossible to go out with him. He asks why as a car begins honking in the background. She says she'll see him tomorrow and they give gooey goodbyes.
I guess Lety came up with figures that Fern liked because he's happy happy joy joy dancing in his office. She comes in from her office and teases him and starts dancing too, and he gets impatient with her. As Fern starts to walk out he asks how Filmo Imagen is doing. She tells him fine and offers to show him some paperwork on it, but he says no he'll just leave it in her hands. He leaves and she gets that lovey look again where you KNOW she's thinking "tan divino" even if she isn't saying it out loud.
Erasmo and Tomas are talking at home about computers and phones, all stuff they bought and are setting up for F.I. Pop says something that makes Tomas nervous, still questioning the whole set up of F.I. The dvd skips and suddenly Lety's at home talking to her dad. He's still wondering what the connection is between F.I. and Conceptos and she tries to give an explanation. He then wants to know about the company's capital and Lety and Tomas give nervous laughs. Lety escapes the room by saying she's going to help her mom in the kitchen. There's some mushy conversation between mother and daughter. Mom then calls everyone into the kitchen to eat. Robopop tries to block Tomas from entering the kitchen, but you can't keep that man away from Julieta's cooking and he manages to get in anyway. Lety pulls him back out, however, to ask why her dad is asking so many questions. She then tells him about the Bella Life contract and how much it's for. I think she's telling Tomas it's an improvement but still not enough to fully save Conceptos.
Now we're at Marcia's where Fern and she are eating. She tells him she's proud that he's starting to act more responsibly (little does she know, huh?). They talk about the commercials and I'm not sure what else.
Tomas tells Lety that she's crazy for getting involved in all this (I think) and they talk more about the Bella Life contract and Conceptos's problems. Lety also tells him about Ariel and the trouble he's causing. Tomas then mentions Alicia and starts drooling all over her picture (ok, I know Chris was freaked by the fact that Tomas had laminated Ali's picture, but he HAD to. Can you imaging the shape it would be in with all that drool if he hadn't???). Lety gets pissed because she's continually asked him to not get hung up on that woman, so she tells her mom that Tomas isn't hungry and is leaving. Tomas protests but she tells him "mole or Alicia". Now, there's only one thing stronger than Little Tomas, and that's Big Tomas' stomach, so he chooses the mole for the time being.
Speaking of Alicia, she's home crying about the dress (and talking to it) that Marta copied. After the humiliation she received, she has no choice but to throw the dress away. Ariel calls just then and tells her she has to continue giving him information on Conceptos. She actually stands up to him for a minute and tells him she won't do it any more because she doesn't want to get fired and be unemployed, unless he can give her a job. He tells her he'll pay her to be his part-time lover. (Ok, don't you wonder what their backstory is? Was he in love with her before she got married and was convinced she only married the guy for money and now calls her whore all the time? Or is he just a creep? Talk amongst yourselves...). I believe he threatens her with the usual "you broke Lety's computer" crap.
Lola the Ever-Psycho catches Cheque and Jazmin kissing down in Reception and goes postal and Marta and PM have to hold her back (personally I say let her cut loose, what the heck!). Jaz says hi to everyone, ostentatiously kisses Cheque and leaves. Lola continues the psycho tirade on Cheque and demands that he pay more money to her for the kids. He remains calm, gives some lame excuse and leaves.
Fernando and Lety are in the conference room with Ricky and his accountant (or partner?) to verify the contract. They discuss Latin America and Europe. They reach and agreement and shake on it.
In the lobby, Saimon is drooling on Jazmin. She almost kisses him, but not quite, then leaves by the stairs as Lola, Marta and PM come off the elevator. I get the idea he still doesn't want to join their evil empire, because they all hit him.
Back in Fern's office, he and Lety are discussing the contract and are happy about it. Omar comes in with a brochure on 35 mm cameras and mentions how expensive they are. Lety and Fernando both say they can't afford that much. Omar then says he knows of a cheaper supplier, and comes up with a rather shady proposal to buy the stuff in Panama. Lety is convinced it's not a good idea because the stuff could be contraband merchandise. Fernando lets himself be swayed by the low price and tells Omar to go to Panama and see to the deal. Lety is really unhappy with this decision and tries to talk Fern out of it, but he just gives her his usual "tranquila", it'll all be fine.
Omar goes out into the lobby and says hi to Alicia. Based on the look on her face, I'd say she insults him. He just walks away, and she then gives crap to the cuartel while Marta eats. Nothing new here, move along people, nothing to see.
Lety looks over the camera catalogs and discusses them with Fernando. Omar comes back in with information on the Panamanian merchandise and hands it to Lety. Fern tries to take it from her but she refuses to let go of it, so he finally practically falls over trying to pry it from her unhappy hands. Side note, is it illegal to import stuff from Panama? Or is it just the cameras that are illegal? I'm totally confused as to what the problem is with this stuff. Anyway, Omar is still taking about his idea, Fern seems to like it, Lety is still an unhappy camper and totally not on board with the plot. The rest of the conversation is Fern and Omar trying to talk her into it. She goes back to her office as Fern and Omar continue to discuss.
Marcia walks into the lobby to talk to Alicia, who's not feeling well. I'm not positive of the conversation, but I think she tells Marcia she threw away her dress because of Marta. Marcia leaves to talk to Lola about something. Alicia then follows Marcia to her office, whining the whole way, about not having any money and her financial situation is grave. I THINK Alicia asks to be given a better paying job than Secretary to the President, after all she has six semesters blah blah. Marcia grabs her head like Alicia's giving her a headache. Whatever it is Alicia's asking for, she lays the guilt foundation by saying hey, you're supposed to be my friend, you're a woman, you're a professional, give me this chance. It sounds like Marcia uses Fernando as her excuse for why she can't. Luigi walks in and Marcia tells Alicia to go back to work.
Lety brings some information out to Fernando, I'm not sure what it is or what they talk about, but he gives it back to her. She mentions something about 4 million dollars and he replies with something about Ariel and the presidency. It sounds like they're worrying about the creditors and talking about the negotiations, and Lety's once again saying she doesn't much care for Omar's idea. Fernando tells Omar not to tell anyone what he's doing or where he's going, especially Marcia or Luigi. To cover the fact that it's not quite legit, they decide to tell everyone Omar's going to New York, not Panama. Fernando continues to talk to Lety, but she just continues to look worried.
Luigi is in Marcia's office and they talk about Bella Life and how much money the contract is for.
Omar and Fernando are still talking in Fern's office. Lety comes out and tells them something about Ricky Armstrong's contract and the bank. The rest of the conversation is something along the lines of how Omar needs to get back with Alicia, and "matrimonio" is mentioned. They're teasing Omar, and he doesn't look happy. He leaves and Fernando asks Lety what's up with the bank. She's worried, and he tells her not to be. Luigi and Marcia come in and Luigi does his usual crap when he sees Lety. Fernando tells them that Ricky will be coming in to sign the contract and they all clap. He takes them into the conference room, not really sure why because he just kisses Marcia, Luigi makes some smart comment, he and Fernando say something, Marcia and Fernando kiss again, and she leaves. No business done so why didn't they just stay in his office? Anyroad, Luigi tries to kiss Fernando and he pulls away. Luigi says he can't help it, he's excited because the Fiesta of the Queen of the Night is tonight. Fern tries to get out of it or get it postponed but Luigi is firm.
Missing Recap 22: Saimon's excellent lunch hour
Omar, Fernando and Lety are again talking about not telling anyone about Panama and how Omar should marry Alicia. Marcia and Luigi come in and clap about the contract again, and kiss in the conference room again. Luigi reminds Fernando that the party is tonight and he has to dress up as the Queen of the Night. Fern wants it postponed but Luigi squeals as only a gay tv stereotype can and remains firm. Fern says fine, what do I have to do? Luigi tells him nothing except... he has to wear a fuchsia dress, feather headgear, makeup, everything pink. Fern argues and I think he complains he'll look ridiculous, and Luigi says he'll be discreet and not tell anyone, and goes on to tell Fern how great he'll look.
Omar goes out and talks to Alicia, and whatever he's selling, she's not buying. He gives her one of his so-not-sexy snorts and she pretty much tells him to take a long walk off a short pier. He's laying it on thick and says they have to get together when he gets back from New York. As he leaves she gets a look on her face like she's not sure whether to believe him or not.
Saimon gets off the elevator and runs into Marta and Lola. He dances with Marta while Lola asks him how his fake romance with Jazmin is going. They discuss that it needs to be a secret.
Luigi, surrounded by models, is on the phone to Rulli making arrangements for Fernando's big evening. Saimon comes in and asks to talk to Jaz for just a minute. Luigi says no but then gets called to a meeting so they talk anyway. Saimon asks her out to lunch and I guess she agrees. He says he'll meet her in Reception.
Next Saimon's in the lobby talking to Lola, Marta and Sara. He tells them he's meeting Jaz in Reception. I think he claims he's broke so Lola gives him money to take her out.
Fernando, Lety, Luigi and Marcia are in the conference room with Ricky and his associate. Ricky signs the contract and Luigi claps. Everyone's happy.
Back in the lobby Lola, Marta and Sara are talking. Lola wants Marta to call Cheque and tell him about Jaz and Saimon's lunch date. Marta and Sara don't care for the idea, and personally I'm getting really sick of this Lola Psycho storyline and wish it would end. She finally talks Marta into it.
Cheque is in his office when Marta calls, disguising her voice, and tells him that Jaz is out with another man and what restaurant they're at. The cuartel are listening and start laughing maniacally into the phone before she hangs up. Cheque is immediately insanely jealous and wants to find out who she's stepping out with.
Lety gives a check to Fernando for his signature and they talk about the bank. Lola comes in and asks if Lety can go to lunch, and she tells her she can't go. When Lola leaves Fernando tells her she can go if she wants, heck they can even eat in his office. There's a tv so she can watch movies with her friend. Clueless Lety says "really Don Fernando?" and he says no and something along the lines of "get real!" Marcia and Luigi come in, Luigi doing his little happy dance. Marcia leaves and Luigi teases Fernando about the fiesta. He also leaves and Fernando tells Lety to order them some food so they can keep working.
In reception, PM is jealous and giving Saimon hell. The cuartel come in and chat and Irma is not happy with their plot. Sara threatens Saimon to get it right or else and PM hits him in the stomach, then they leave. Jazmin comes out of the elevator talking to Cheque on the phone. She's telling him she's having lunch with some of the other models. He wants to know where, but she doesn't answer him, just says he sounds funny, what's wrong? He says nothing as he's balling up all his papers in anger. He tells her he'll be eating in his office. She hangs up and Saimon drools and tries to eat his tie. The cuartel head over to the restaurant and wait so they can watch Efren catching Jazmin with Saimon.
The waiter brings lunch into the conference room where Lety has set the table with flowers, candles and champagne. The waiter leaves and Fernando comes in and says how romantic the table looks. He snaps his fingers and music plays, then he snaps again and they get nice mood lighting. He hands her a white tulip, saying "a pretty flower for a pretty woman". He holds her chair for her as she sits, and he's happy to see the champagne. They talk romantically, then toast with the champagne and drink. He puts his arm around her and pulls her tight and they both pucker up hideously for a kiss. He fades out because the real Fernando is telling her to snap out of it.
C'mon, y'all knew it was a fantasy, but it was a good one. She's leaning in for the non-existent kiss and almost falls out of her chair. Fern grabs her to keep her from falling and she tells him she got him his lunch. He points to the second lunch and asks who it's for. She says her, she thought she'd eat with him. She then apologizes and excuses herself, saying she'll eat in her office, but he tells her to stay and keep him company. But then he immediately orders her to go and get a file or something and while she's gone he starts picking disgustedly at the food she ordered him (while I hate the sushi he normally eats, I have to agree with him that this stuff looks pretty nasty). When she gets back he pushes his food away, so she pushes hers away too and he winds up telling her to just get rid of it.
Outside the restaurant, the cuartel (sans Irma) are cackling about their evil plot. We cut to Saimon and Jazmin, who are at a different restaurant altogether. Back to the cuartel who don't understand why Saimon and Jaz aren't there. Meanwhile, they see Cheque arrive and try to hide. They try to tell Lola to go talk to him, but she refuses. He comes out and sees them, though, and realizes it was all a trick to cause problems between him and Jaz. He yells and leaves. Back to Saimon and Jaz, I don't try to translate. They flirt, he falls off his chair, she laughs, I'm done.
The cuartel get back to Reception and talk smack about Saimon. PM gives a beating to his motorcycle helmet that's sitting there. Cheque is back at work and his phone rings. It's Lola, back at her desk, wanting more money from him. He tells her he can't afford it and hangs up on her, and of course she freaks as only Lola the Psycho Drama Queen from Hell can. Lety comes out and hands Lola some information.
In Reception, PM watches Saimon and Jazmin come in, Saimon is dropping rose petals in her path. PM freaks. Jaz gets on the elevator and PM freaks even more which makes Jazmin laugh. Saimon falls over while drooling over Jaz and she helps pick him up. She gets on the elevator and leaves and PM gives Saimon all manner of holy hell.
Up in the lobby Jazmin is asking Lola for her check. Lola tells her she can't have her check because Efren hasn't yet paid the kids' tuition (boy the cuartel sure have a lot of power getting to decide who gets their paychecks and who doesn't). She, Sara and Juana yell at her to leave, and Marta joins in. She calls Cheque, whining, but Lola just takes the phone and starts giving him hell. Jaz then runs off to complain to Lopez.
Lety hands a folder to Fernando. The phone rings, Lety answers, it's Omar. Lety's tone gets very chilly. She hands the phone to Fernando, who shakes his head at her attitude. Fernando is apparently happy with the terms of the deal Omar has made. Lety makes ugly faces while Fern tells her about it. He asks her what's wrong and she starts giving him a list, so he tells her yeah, yeah, tranquila, Omar's a smart man, and professional (how long have you known this guy Fern? Sounds to me like you don't know him at all). She says "yeah" and leaves.
Jaz is whining to Lopez. Alicia is giving Lola crap about Jaz's check, and I'm actually full-on with Alicia on this one. Fernando and Lety come out and Alicia tries to tell Fern what's going on, but he just tells her to answer the phones. He and Lety leave and Lopez and Jazmin come up. He tells Lola to give Jaz her check, but Lola refuses. Ok, I have to know what this woman has over Lopez that she can pull something like that and not get fired!) They argue back and forth as Luigi and Marcia come up and Jazmin fake-cries. Alicia tells them what's going on and Luigi says something about the cuartel being fea and Jazmin being bella and that's the difference. Marcia tells Lola she wants to talk to her in her office and Luigi tells Jazmin to quit crying and go to work (Jaz works???).
In Marcia's office Lola tries to justify what she did, telling her how Cheque isn't helping to fund the kids. She says Marcia should understand how Lola feels since women are always trying to steal Fernando from her. Macia says she understands more than anyone what Lola is going through, but that shouldn't make her stoop to Jaz's level, and they need to all try to get along at the office. I get the feeling Marcia doesn't like Jaz either. Lola agrees and goes back to her desk and gives the check to Jaz. Alicia gives the cuartel hell, then follows Marcia back to her office and wants to know what she said that made Lola give the check to Jaz. Marcia yells at her for butting in. Alicia defends herself saying she knows what it's like to need money. Marcia is not sympathetic and says something about being more responsible, or being less irresponsible, I'm not sure. She tells Alicia that she wants back all the money she owes her, and tells her she can go to a store where Conceptos has credit and buy some new dresses. Alicia thinks she's going to get this stuff as a present, but Marcia sets her straight and tells her she's going to deduct the cost from her monthly paychecks. She then kicks Alicia out of her office.
The cuartel are in the lobby and Saimon comes in. Lola's pissed because she gave him money and he went to the wrong restaurant. As always, the clueless dancing machine appears to be totally surprised that they're pissed by this.
Lety and Fernando are at the bank talking to someone, asking for a loan. The guy doesn't want to give it to them without a guarantee, which Fernando can't or won't give. (Julie says: Just a wild guess, but they are probably asking Conceptos to put up some collateral to secure the loand, because their credit is shaky.) Fern threatens to take his business to another bank but Lety talks to the guy and is able to convince him to float the loan.
That night, in reception, the cuartel are hanging around when Rulli comes in. Stuff gets said that I don't get, then he asks Irma where Luigi is. She tells him and he leaves.
Lety and Fernando are discussing what the plans are for tomorrow. He gives her his two cell phones and tells her to put her home numbers into them, which she does. Luigi comes in doing his little patented dance of happiness. Marcia comes in as well and talks about getting Isabella del Conde for the Bella Life commercial. Luigi and Fernando both agree she's beautiful and perfect for it. Marcia wants Fernando to go with her tonight to talk to Isabella, but Luigi says he can't because he's doing something with him. Marcia wants to know what's going on and Luigi starts to tell her but Fernando shuts him up. Luigi tells her there won't be any other women, he guarantees it (as he turns his back and smirks). Fern gives him a dirty look as she says fine, kisses Fernando, and leaves. Lety makes a rude face (honestly, it's no wonder Fernando lost his company, he's so damned clueless he can't even tell his assistant is in love with him despite her evil looks to other women and scary-dreamy faces she gives him. What a dolt! Adorable gorgeous dolt, but still a dolt. Anyroad...). Luigi also jokingly leans in for a kiss but Fern just ignores him. Lety butts in to hand his phones back and says good night. Luigi says good night and tells her to be careful going home. Fern wants to know why he's so concerned and Luigi makes some rude crack about her that I don't get, so we miss out on the punchline, sorry. Luigi drags Fernando off to his studio.
In the studio, Rulli, Luigi and two women are swooning over the fuchsia dress Fernando has to wear. Fern comes in and says hi and Rulli and Luigi hold up the dress while one of the girls holds up the boots. Fern says for me? Don't be ridiculous! He says something that shocks everyone and Luigi tells Rulli he's having a mimiski. Rulli explains that the outfit is for him, and I think he tells him the color will look good on him (I love this actor but he's very hard for me to understand). They finally make Fernando live up to his part of the bargain and he takes the costume and shoes. Luigi tells the two ladies, Selene and Lorena, to get Fernando made up. Fern doesn't want makeup but Rulli and Luigi tell him he needs it to complete the outfit. They go back and forth about it but finally Fern gives in and says something about the women. One goes and hugs him and Fern says something like this isn't so bad. Rulli laughs and Luigi tells Fern to be careful, he might be in for a surprise. Fern looks at the "women", impactada, and I shake my head and repeat that he's a dolt. Those are two of the fugliest "women" I've ever seen and it should have been obvious even to our dear clueless hero that they were transsexuals. Fernando screams as they all laugh.
Missing Recap 23: Fernando, Queen of the Night
This opening sequence went really far back! Once again Marcia tells Alicia to pay her back and tells her she has no dignity and will never know what good credit is. Alicia tells Marcia that Marcia has a lot of money while she's just a poor woman disguised (?) as rich. Marcia gets pissed and says she doesn't have enough money to take care of irresponsible friends and boots her out of her office again. Saimon's with the cuartel again, complaining to them that they're using him like "tube meat" (what??? Boy could I take that the wrong way if I wanted to! Hee hee!) just to get back at Cheque. Fern and Lety again convince the bank to give them a loan with just a promissory note instead of a guarantee. Rulli talks to the cuartel again.
New shot of Marcia on the phone, setting up a meeting with Isabella Del Conde (I'm guessing on the spelling). Alicia comes in and gives her a check, I guess to pay her back the money she borrowed. They start talking and Lola comes in to get a folder. I don't get any of the conversation, except Alicia mentions her "boyfriend" Omar. Alicia then finally leaves.
The cuartel are talking more stuff about Alicia and there is more evil cackling. Not sure, but it's possible they're talking about where Alicia will be buying her clothes and Marta is deciding to buy more from there too.
Fern's very happy they got the money from the bank. He and Lety talk about the embargo to F.I. and the loans. She's worried about it all and he's not. Omar calls, which earns more worried faces from Lety. Fernando tells Omar to pay in full for the equipment and Lety REALLY doesn't like this. She yells her objections, hoping Omar will also hear her, but Fern tells her to shut it and he's going to do it anyway.
Marcia tells Alicia she's leaving to go see Isabella. Alicia tries to convince Marcia to let her be the model for the commercial, and once again drops her 6-semesters bomb and says she's very photogenic. Lety, waiting for the elevator, makes faces in the background. Marcia tells Alicia to talk to Fernando about it. Alicia doesn't want to, knowing what Fernando will say. She whines about being a secretary for the rest of her life and Marcia breaks down and says she can come with her as her "assistant" to meet Isabella. Alicia is happy and they both leave with Lety. The cuartel are in the lobby and grab Lety when she comes by. They sit her down and talk to her stuff I don't get, but I think they're filling her in on their evil dress plot, or their evil Saimon/Jazmin plot, I'm not sure.
Now we're finally back to the final scene from last night, where Luigi and Rulli give Fernando the clothes he's to change into. They turn him over to Luigi's makeup artists, who Fern thinks are girls, and once again Fern is surprised by the revelation that they aren't. Luigi tells them to make Fernando look "guapissima" and gives Fernando directions to the party. He mentions "a bet is a bet" so I think he's making sure Fern won't run off and will be there as promised. He and Rulli leave as the women start working on Fernando. Fern looks very nervous.
The cuartel are still chatting in the lobby, not sure what about. Rulli and Luigi come off the elevator and Luigi says something rude. Lety gets a surprised look on her face, I'm not sure why unless it's because she though Fernando was going to be with Luigi. Anyway, the cuartel mention they're getting a taxi and Rulli offers to give them a ride. Luigi nixes the idea and Rulli makes a "stop being a jerk" face at him. Luigi says "I should introduce you to the cuartel of feas of Conceptos" and Rulli says "no, not feas, bellas". Luigi tells him he'll give him a mimiski. (If you're watching this on DVD, you HAVE to pause this when it shows the cuartel's reaction to Rulli's compliment. Lety's face is unreal! I guess she's supposed to be impactada at his kindness but instead she looks like she's done way too many drugs in the 60's, or she's been shot with an overdose of thorazine, with her vacant gaze and gawping mouth. I was just waiting for a little stream of drool to come stringing out. It's hilarious! Anyway...) Luigi says something else rude and Rulli says something else nice and Luigi laughs and says "lets go". The cuartel, who if you'll remember were mad at Rulli from the first time they met and he didn't tell them who he was and they were all over him, have decided that he's not so bad after all, and Lety points out that he's very handsome. I agree and think it's a shame they had to bring some stranger in at the end of the show instead of this guy. He must have moved on to bigger and better things by then. Oh well.
The ladies have gotten Fernando all dressed and made up. He's facing way from the mirror, and he does NOT look good, IMHO. He's in a pink pageboy wig and has very heavy tranny makeup on, as well as the pink clothes. He closes his eyes and turns to face the mirror while the ladies put the feathered headdress on him. It's actually not a headdress, it's a very large feathered collar, think Elizabeth the First but with feathers instead of lace. Once it's on they tell him to open his eyes. He does and screams in horror. The girls get upset that he doesn't like it. He thanks them angrily and slowly tries to leave, wobbling on the high heels. He enters his office to grab his cell phone and has trouble reaching across his desk because of the tight dress. He tries to slip the phone into a pocket that's not there and it falls to the floor. Funny moments ensue as he tries to bend down to get it. He winds up hiking the dress really high to show some SERIOUSLY hairy legs (but very cute!! Have I mentioned I'm prejudiced?) and struggles to get the phone. Finally, success, and it occurs to him to put the phone in his purse. He makes it to the lobby, still almost falling over on the heels. Suddenly Celso comes in and sees him and calls him Senorita. Fern runs onto the elevator and the door closes before Celso can catch him. Celso heads for the stairs. Fernando is now outside trying to make it to his car, still wobbly. Celso comes up from behind and when Fern turns to face him, doesn't recognize him and asks what he's doing there. Fern gives a high, falsetto giggle, then decides he can't carry it off and just tells Celso it's him. Celso's shocked and says something I don't get, at first using the female version, then changing it to the male. He says something else I don't understand but it makes Fern mad and he hits Celso several times with his purse, then tells him he's going to a party and not to say anything to anyone. He then hikes up his skirt and gets in his car and drives away.
At some photo shoot, Isabella the famous model (who happens to be none other than our own dear Jaime's sister Isabella Camil) is working. Marcia and Alicia walk up and talk to Isabella's representative. Marcia introduces Alicia as her assistant and Alicia immediately begins to make an ass of herself. Just as she starts to mention her six semesters, Marcia cuts her off (thank you Marcia!). Marcia says she wants to watch the photo shoot so the rep leaves and Marcia pretty much tells Alicia to keep her trap shut and sit.
Lety gets home and talks to Tomas. As usual she tells him everything she's been sworn by Fernando not to tell, including the Panama stuff. Tomas tells Lety he's worried that this business Fern is about to enter into (I think he means the cameras, but he could mean the embargo, I'm not sure) could involve them in legal problems. He also teases her about being in love with Fernando.
Speaking of, Fern gets to the club and asks around for Luigi and runs into Francis. I guess she's some kind of famous transvestite or tv personality or something, but sorry, I don't know who she is.
Isabella finishes her shoot and the rep brings her over to meet Marcia. Alicia practically attacks her before the intros are finished. Isabella asks about the internationally famous president Fernando Mendiola and Marcia gives her some answer I don't get. The rep starts to tell Isabella about what Conceptos is doing for Bella Life. Alicia starts talking her usual Alicia crap, but Marcia interrupts her, I think to ask Isabella to join them for dinner. Isa excuses herself to change and remove her makeup and Marcia's looking like she's pissed she ever brought Alicia. Alicia begins posing on the couch Isa had been posing on and I think she's probably saying something like "anything she can do I can do better". Marcia grabs her and tells her not to talk any more. Alicia says ok, sorry Marcia, but then goes back to posing. Marcia walks away in disgust.
Back at the drag party, there's a floor show going on up on a stage and that's where Fern finally finds Luigi. While Fern's trying very hard to get his attention, Luigi introduces tonight's special guests: First is Francis the #1 transvestite in Mexico, and she waves to everyone. He then introduces the newest transvestite, "Lilly". The lights turn onto Fern and everyone starts cheering for him and calling him "Lilly, the queen gay." Fern wants to run but Luigi tells him if he does he'll tell everyone he's Fernando Mendiola, president of Conceptos, so Fern agrees and Luigi pulls him up on stage. Fern tries to leave and everyone boo's. I'm not positive, but I think the rest of the conversation is that Fern says the bet says he has to wear the clothes and makeup to be Queen of the Night, but it doesn't say he has to be made a fool of on stage, and he leaves. People still boo and jeer him.
Isabella is having dinner with Marcia and Alicia at a restaurant while Marcia talks about the B.L. project. Isabella answers but looks bored. Marcia tells her she'll get to meet Fernando later.
Back to the party, Fern's still trying to leave and smacking people in the face with his feathers. He chats with Francis again. She wants a hug and Fern looks uncomfortable and sneaks past her. He's still edging toward the door when the phone rings. It's Marcia wanting to know where he is. He says he's out with Luigi, where is she? She says she's with Isabella. They arrange to all meet at his house later, I think he says "in an hour" but I'm not sure. He finally gets outside but he's unable to leave because several cars have blocked the exit. He asks the doorman to move the cars but he says he can't and Fern has to talk to the owners. Fern doesn't want to go back in there but the doorman refuses so Fern unhappily gives up and goes back in to find the owners.
Meanwhile, Ana Lety calls Marcia and invites herself and Ariel over to join the party at Fern's house. Ariel doesn't want to go but A.L. tries to talk him into it, mentioning the famous model.
Back at the party, Luigi is talking at a table and Fern sneaks up and tries to quietly get his attention, but of course Luigi makes a big production out of it. Fern tells him about the car problem and Luigi wants him to stay. Fern tells him about the meeting at his house and Luigi invites everyone at the table back to Fern's, but Fern tells them it's a work meeting so they decide they don't want to go. He tells Luigi about Isabella and how they have to get her to sign before she goes to Europe, but Luigi doesn't care and won't help. Fern then locates one of the owners, Bugambilia, and tries to get her to move her car but she doesn't want to and Fern nearly gets into a fight with her. Luigi comes and breaks it up but still no one will move their cars.
Marcia gets on the phone and also tries to get Ariel to come to Fern's house, but says he and Fern will have to get along tonight. Ariel agrees after she pouts and drops Isabella's name. Ana Lety says she's glad he's going and instead of heading to the front door, heads toward the bedroom. Ariel straightens her out, haha, non-funny blonde moment.
Back at the party, Fern is still trying to leave and runs into Francis one more time. For someone so famous she must not be liked very much because no one's ever talking to her, she's just drinking at the bar alone. Fern decides he'll move the cars out of the way himself, but the valet tells him if he tries it he'll call the cops, so poor Fernie winds up having to walk.
At Fernando's house, Marcia lets herself in along with Isabella and Alicia. She calls for Fernando, but of course he's not there yet. She offers Isa something to drink and tries calling Fern again.
He's walking down the street, bitching because he can't get a cab. He tries to flag one down, but they take one look at him and take off. A man walks by and Fernando tries to stop him, but the man runs away. His phone rings and natch it's Marcia wanting to know where he is and that they're at his house. He tells her something about Conceptos and a problem with Luigi and something about his car. She asks him to hold while she answers the door and he hears that it's A.L. and Ariel. He yells at Marcia about Ariel being there but she just has him wait as she introduces the two to Isabella. Ariel turns on what's supposed to be charm and surprisingly she isn't sickened by it. Marcia tells the group Fernando's car died and he's having trouble getting a taxi. Ariel suggests Marcia go and get him, but Fernando (rather nastily, I guess he's pissed she invited Ariel) turns her down and says he'll be there shortly, and hangs up on her.
He's still walking the streets as some men come up and chase him, laughing at him. They keep trying to touch him. Another man comes up and tells the others to leave him alone and chases them away. Fern walks toward him trying to explain what's happening, but the man gets frightened that Fern's trying to attack him and runs away. Next he hears a police siren and a cop car drives up, lights flashing.
Missing Recap 24: Whiskered corncake rescues damsel in distress
Once again Marcia and posse enter Fern's abode. Fern is still scaring away cabs and passersby, while he talks to Marcia again. A.L. and Ariel show up again , Fern's attacked again and scares away his savior again. The cops drive up again and Fernando hides behind a tree. The cops don't see him and drive off. What a night, he's bitching.
Fernando calls Lety and asks her to help him. He asks her to pick him up because otherwise he might wind up in jail. She offers to have his dad pick him up but he asks her to come, alone, in a cab because he isn't presentable.
Meanwhile back at Fernando's crib, Isabella is looking bored and Ariel is making his usual mean little mermaid digs. Nothing new here so I'll move on.
Lety tells Mom Fern's in trouble and needs her. Lety gets out quietly and gets a taxi to pick him up. When the taxi stops at the address Fern gave her, he runs up to the cab laughing with relief and she screams, not recognizing him. He finally tells her to recognize his voice and convinces her it's him. He tells her about the bet with Luigi and the crazy night he's had. Then he tells her about Isabella and how he has to get home. She finally opens the door to let him in and he has a lot of trouble because of the feathered collar. Don't ask why he didn't just take it off, you'd miss a lot of small car/big feather contraption humor if he did. He finally manages to squeeze in while the cab driver laughs.
Back at Fern's, Ariel is flirting with Isabella. She's not repulsed and is actually flirting back (ew!). More blonde humor from Ana Lety, who can't tell her own sister from Alicia. Fern calls and tells Marcia he's at Conceptos. She asks if they should leave and he tells her no, he'll be there in 20 minutes.
Lety and Fern are trying to get in through the gate but it's locked and they can't find Celso. While Lety's off looking for him, cops arrive and try to arrest Fern because he can't prove who he is. Lety shows up at the last minute, explains everything, shows her ID, and saves his hide.
Back at Casa Padilla, Robo's talking in his sleep while mom looks at the clock. In the cab, Lety & Fern are headed to her house so he can clean up and change into some of her dad's clothes. She asks him to be quiet, so of course his huge feathered collar hits stuff and makes a lot of noise. Lety FINALLY offers to remove the darned thing for him. He goes into the bathroom and she hides the collar in the kitchen and heads upstairs to get him some clothes. She talks to mom, who will get the clothes for him. Lety is trying to remove Fern's makeup with hand cream (I guess on her duty statement this falls under "other duties as required") as mom comes down with the clothes. She drops the clothes in shock (and let's face it, horror as well; Fern is one fugly woman!) when she sees him, but Lety and Fern offer some kind of explanation and she calms down.
Pop comes down and they tell Fern to hide because Pop will never understand if he see's Fern dressed like that. Instead of sending him into the kitchen or bathroom, for some reason mom tells him to hide under this very tiny coffee table. It's only about 4 foot long and Fern's 6 foot, so it's funny to see him try to scrunch up under there and obviously Pop's eyes are blinded by sleep if he can't see the horrible pink apparition sprawled under the furniture, but he doesn't. Fern hears Robo asking Lety if her boss still mistreats her and complaining about his bugging her this late, but she answers that her relationship with her boss is just fine. Just then, of course, Marcia calls but Fern can't answer and she gets pissed. Everyone's at his house waiting for him. Pop hears the phone and wants to know what it is, but Mom and Lety convince him it's just the tv upstairs, so he and Mom go back up to bed. With the hand cream not working, Lety finally smears avocado all over his face (she saw the idea on tv). Pop comes down again and Fern hides in the bathroom but once again pop goes clueless back up to bed.
Fern is dressed in Erasmo's clothes which are way too small for him, and he vaguely and strangely rather resembles Tomas except without the Mini-Me tie. He asks Lety if he can borrow some money for a taxi and promises to pay her back and return the clothes tomorrow. He worries about what her dad thinks of him as a boss, and promises not to shout at her any more. He leaves and Lety gets all dreamy and gives us a Don Fernando Tan Divino. She carries all his costume stuff up to her room and starts writing in her diary but Fern shouts at her from the street and she goes back downstairs and opens the door to him. He comes in and I don't get the whole conversation but basically he's telling her he loves her. They hug and just as they're about to kiss we hear pop calling her. As you've probably already figured out, it's another Fantasy Moment. Pop comes into her room proving my theory that he's blind because he doesn't even notice all this pink feathery stuff lying about. He tells her to go to bed and when he leaves, she gets all dreamy-faced again.
Fern finally gets home and surprises everyone being dressed the way he is. They're all just staring at him and he's nervously trying to act like everything's normal, and he even hugs Ariel in his nervousness and Ariel's reaction is pretty funny. He's making excuses, and rather than pass through Ana Lety and Isabella, who are blocking the stairs, he tries to climb over the railing and you can hear his pants rip. I don't know if that was on purpose or not, but seeing the look on Patty Navidad's face, there's a good chance it wasn't. Either way it's pretty funny as Fern finally manages to get upstairs.
Marcia follows him and wants to know the truth of what was going on. He tells her all about his night and the things he had to do because of Luigi. They go back downstairs and chat for a bit, but mostly Isabella says she's tired and doesn't want to talk about work. They agree to continue the conversation tomorrow and everyone gets ready to leave. Fernando is talking to Marcia and lets slip something about imports that will be arriving, and Ariel's ears immediately prick up. He tells Alicia to investigate further and to keep him informed, then he goes off with Isabella. Back upstairs, Marcia is upset because Fern called Lety for help instead of her.
