Llena de Amor #71 Fri 11/19/10 Love with the Proper Pillow

Well gang, tonight you're at the mercy of a disappointed Dr. Carlos and I'll tell you right up front, after a rather exciting week, nothing... and I mean nothing of any note or importance happens tonight. No dead cats, no jailhouse assaults, no cockfight in the parlor... nopis. Hints of things to come, but for tonight... nada. Tonight we get to see Marianela eat her fruits and veggies (the girl is anemic! She needs red meat, for goodness sake). So if your time will be better served by flossing the hamster or bathing the goldfish... then by all means...

So let's see if we can get through this as painlessly as possible. Oddly we pick up with a soused Emiliano conferring with a prickly Maximo. Sylvia covered this very nicely last night so being the lazy old fart that I am, I'm going to borrow her eloquence to get us started:

He has a very hard time spitting out what he wants to say but he finally manages to grunt out his question, was there something between Fedra and his brother Luis-Felipe? Brandon and Emanuel huff and puff at each other. Brandon is incensed when Mari asks him to leave the room. He tells Eman that for every tear he causes Mari, Brandon will collect it back in Eman’s blood. Max tells Emiliano how dare he soil his brother’s memory with such a question. Luis-Felipe was always deeply in love with Eva. Max says yes, LP was interested in Fedra, but only because he was investigating her to find out who she really is. Mari and Emanuel make up and he apologizes for causing her such sadness because he was a dumba** for not telling her his plan. She says she wanted to die. Eman tells her that if she dies he wants to die right behind her. They gaze at each other.

Thanks Sylvia.

An edgy Lorenzo is interrogating a put upon Flora about the whereabouts of the rest of his family. She has no idea where they might be and her expression suggests that it's not her highest priority. He tells her to shut up and get back to work. He fitfully pours himself a drink (Famous Grouse Scotch would be my guess) as he remembers a happier time frolicking with his son, the late (well, so he thinks) Cristian, in the park.

The kid is no judge of character because he seemed quite content in the hands of this psychopath.

Meintras tanto, his significant other is at the naco dorm looking for his other significant other, Begoña. She strolls in the always open front door and inquires of Netty and Gladiola if Brandon Moreno lives here. They look at her suspiciously. "Yes, he's my son," offers Gladiola. Muñeca introduces herself, "Camila Rivero," and tells them that Brandon had told her that Begoña lives there as well. They tell her that she did, but left suddenly for Italy and they haven't heard from her since. "Strange." At this moment Brandon pops in and happily greets Muñeca with a kiss to the consternation of the other women.

He walks her out, promising to let her know if they hear from Begoña. Well, good luck with that, I believe their resident clairvoyant has moved out. Brandon returns with a worried look...or maybe it's a touch of gas.

Now I've mentioned that I'm something of an Ilitia fan but I find her outfit a bit strange and confusing. She is in Manny's room getting a little seduction set up and is wearing a very sheer black nighty but, I guess out of some sense of modesty, she has on underneath purple bra and panties , detracting from the intended and desired effect. Of course these days our nightime fashion tends to be flannel or cotton knit, so what would I know about such things? Like a lusty lioness she paces the room and literally marks her territory. "Don't wanna wait for the Caribe beach. All's fair in love and war," she purrs as she fill the room with her spoor.

Turns out that Brandon is irked that Emanuel entered Mari's room, "by climbing the wall like a fly and crawling through the window like a rat." This sends an agitated Netty flying up the stairs just as Oliver shlumps in looking as though his best girl just dumped him... oh, that's right, she did. This is one dejected detective. "I saw Gretel. She's at her parents' house. She never cared for me."

Back in the wine cellar with Fedra and Bernardo, Gretel has learned that her mom is not completely reliable. She thinks that her compliance with Fedra's demands merits more consideration but... think again sweetie. For her trouble and pleading, she is treated to a sedating injection from a syringe

which her mommy has thoughtfully kept warmly nestled between those impressive bubis. As Gretel starts to melt to the floor Fedra gives her a couple of motherly kisses, picks up her bottle of wine and she and Bernardo leave Gretel alone to contemplate the impressive wine collection with which she shares the cellar.

In Mari's room, Netty metastasizes all over a stammering Manny, castigating him for treating Mari miserably, sneaking into her room uninvited, and mostly for having ever been born. Mari listens passively and finally the Eman gets in a word. If he can't get Mari to eat, he'll leave... forever. Since either result would suit her desires, she hesitantly agrees.

Our lusty lioness has settled onto Manny's bed to await her prey. Deciding to rehearse a bit, she picks up a pillow and asks it for a kiss. She must not have noticed that this is the Brandon pillow, but as soon as she kisses it she recognizes her well-tanned policeman, tosses him off the bed, and orders him out of her pretty little head.

She looks around to see if anyone noticed. Cute, very funny scene.

Under Netty's protective gaze Emanuel, like a mother titmouse, is coaxing bites of fresh produce into Mari's reluctant beak. This chubby little bird is anemic, Manny, some nice juicy worms or crispy grasshoppers would do more good. She needs some meat. He looks to Netty after a tiny morsel of broccoli is successfully delivered. She nods approval. He beams as he announces that he is spending the night, sleeping on the floor, of course. Netty wrestles with this, finally conceding to herself that this is Mari's only hope of survival. Oh, por favor. More food, and I swear I'm not making this up, it's WHITE RICE! Now all she needs is a sip of TEA and she will have consumed all of our Dr. Judy's essential food groups... Next!

Downstairs, Oliver is giving Brandon a play by play of his visit with Gretel. We were there to experience it with him...so...Next!

Netty shares good news and bad news with Brandon. The good: Marinela's eating. The bad: Emanuel is feeding. Our cocky cop focuses on the bad and wants to evict Manny. Netty thinks they should let him stay... at least until Mari improves...

Back upstairs, Mari has cleaned her plate and we are overdosed with cute. He hands her the ugly doll (a lame token of her daddy's affection) says he's jealous of the doll (I know, I know, it's making my teeth hurt), then sits on the bed and starts taking off his shoes...

Not so fast cowboy... she directs him to the couch where he snuggles a couple of purple pillows. Mari smiles that cloying smile of hers (you know the one) and thinks:

"I love yo Emanuel, with every minute that passes I love you more and I don't know if it's a mistake to believe you but I can't, I can't, I don't want to doubt you."

He wrinkles his nose...

NEXT!

At Castle Creep it must be morning because Nereida has brought Cristal breakfast and the sun is shining. Nereida listens as Cristal tells her of Ilitia's indictment of Mauricio. Now litia is no fan of Orangeboy but is even less fond of Ilitia. She suggests that maybe it was just the reverse... perhaps Ilitia attacked the Jaundiced One. She calls her a mátalas callando (?). She says that her abuela says, "Amigo el ratón del queso y sin embargo, se lo come (the mouse may be a friend of the cheese, nevertheless , he eats it )."

Said mouse wakes up in Manny's bed... no Manny... cause for concern?

Max is still outraged at Emiliano for even thinking that his brother might betray him with Fedra and shares his ire with Paula

who is now worried about Gretel since Oliver told her that she is no longer in the nut house. You mean she wasn't worried while she was there? Max observes that Paula is partial to Gretel. She explains that it's because she came along at the same time they lost their daughter. Hmmm.

Upstairs on the main floor, Fedra has good news for Emiliano. After pondering it all night long she has decided to forgive him for bumping the little cars with that needy spinster, Netty, and give him another chance. Surprisingly Emiliano is not yearning for forgiveness, much less another chance. In fact, he'd prefer a divorce. Hmmm, and Fedra was thinking more along the lines of a romantic trip to Paris.

Folks are up at Naco Central and someone has brought Mari breakfast... a bowl of fruit. I don't see a lot of iron in that bowl. Manny did spend the night which appears to have been good for Mari but rough on his back. A cheery Netty waltzes in, notes improvement in Mari and gently kicks Manny out, "I'll take over here, why don't you have breakfast downstairs?... before you... go home. He doesn't put up a struggle but seeing Mari's anemic breakfast, opts to catch a bite on the street. He gives Mari a sweet kiss under the watchful eye of an impatient Netty

who times the kiss, breaks it up, and kicks him out. "You look so much better." "All because of Emanuel. I love him, I love him, I love him!" Netty understands, but tells her that she can never be happy with him, "...as long as Fedra Curiel is alive."

Emiliano doesn't want Fedra to make one of her little scenes this morning. Fedra does... and does. She begins summoning the entire family at the top of her lungs. Axel arrives first then Delicia, Nereida, and Benigno. "Where is Cristal? Where is Gretel? Where is Emanuel?" "Well, Cristal is locked in her room,"Nereida reminds her. I guess she forgot that Gretel is locked in the wine cellar... ummm... in Switzerland. She is not thrilled to learn from Benigno that Manny didn't come home last night. Nereida escorts a drowsy Cristal down the staircase. She then dramatically announces to all those rounded up, "I have news for you. Your father asked me for a divorce!"

Lorenzo is visiting the crime lord, Garduño, in the big house. He wants to know why his baby ended up dead and he wants those responsible punished. Señor G calmly explains that it was an unfortunate accident and besides he is after all the crime lord and makes the important decisions, like who gets killed, himself. Lo should be grateful that he's out of jail. As consolation, he is sending a goddess to, "... distract your thoughts." Well, if you insist...

At home, as Muñica eats her breakfast, Flora fills her in, "El Señor was very annoyed when he arrived home last night and was up and gone early this morning." "Just as well..." Muñeca doesn't want to see him. Ilitia went to spend the night with her BFF, Cristal (well, sort of), and there's a precious new baby boy at la Casa Hogar. Muñeca plans to drop by and meet him this afternoon.

Frick and Frack, the bald and the bearded toadies responsible for the Cristian cockup have apparently tentatively located the little guy and are parked in the street outside la Casa Hogar.

The Ruiz y de Teresa family meeting is going rather well. Axel and Cristal prefer the status quo. They back Fedra. Emanuel wanders in and Emiliano fills him in, "I'm going to divorce your mother." "Oh my heaven."

Netty, aware now that Manny and Mari (hmmm Em&M) are not related, is pointing out the downside to Emanuel, in a word... "Fedra." She leaves Mari with that thought. Mari decides to punish the ugly doll and begins bashing its little head against her extra-firm mattress. Predictably it bursts open revealing what appear to be paper towels from a service station restroom. Someone has written on them so she sits down to read. It's the results of the investigation her father made of Fedra.

Meanwhile the family meeting continues. Emiliano has yet to find a sympathetic ear. The entire family turns on him. Cristal is shocked over the thing with Netty. Manny is especially harsh. Emiliano sees that everyone is against him but hopes that someday they will understand. Understandably, Axel, who has understood nothing since the show began, says that he will never understand. Understood? "You see? You're destroying this family." Emiliano thinks it'd be best if he talked with Fedra alone. The kids split. Fedra is crushed, but recovers quickly. "Forget the the divorce," she hisses, "I'm not going to make it that easy for you." They are interrupted by a knock on the door. A white flag, followed by a cowering Benigno, cautiously enters. The General requests a meeting with Fedra in the basement.

Mari furtively fingers her father's Fedra file and is once again recalling that fateful day that she discovered his crumpled broken body outside his office window and his final gasp, "the silver lily." It's all clear to her now, he meant for her to look inside the doll. Qué? Somebody help me out here. How do we get from silver lily to look inside the doll? Yet as brilliant as she is she still wonders why he put the papers in the doll. "Did he know that he was going to die? Did he want me to know the truth about Fedra?"

Let's see what Gretel thinks. Lying in an empty hot tub curiously cut into the floor of the wine cellar she remembers with greater clarity than ever that fateful day. Ill advisedly, Mari's dad showed Fedra the copy of the results of his investigation as he hit the high points:

"Juana Felipe Pérez was a prostitute from the port of Veracruz, concubine of a smuggler named José Maria Sevilla (known as Chema). She became pregnant before disappearing in a mysterious fire on the high seas. The ship's name was el Lirio de Plata."

"You are that woman."

Gretel, now fully alert, snaps to, " It's she, it's she! Fedra es Juana Felipa Pérez. Dios mio, no."

Brandon counsels Oliver that in time he will forget the pretty girl (la chava). Oliver doesn't think so but he's trying to concentrate on work.

Speaking of work, the latest intelligence from Caiman is that Mauricio has bonded with Garduño and an effort is being made to spring Mauricio.

Under white flag, Benigno ushers Ferdrainto General Maximo's headquarters. Both she and the general are unarmed. He offers her a seat. She tells him that Emiliano has asked for a divorce, but rather than be a divorcee, she'd prefer to be a widow. Maximo really doesn't want to be involved but warns her that Emiliano wants her out of his life. "Maybe the one widowed will be him and not you." She responds, "There's no room for doubt, you are completely insane." Well, what he really wants to know is, "...where is Gretel, and don't bother telling me she is in Switzerland because I won't believe that lie even for a second."

As if to remind us, join Gretel in the wine cellar,

"Dios mio, yes Fedra is Juana Felipa Pérez." She wants out. She wants to kill Fedra. (I think a line is starting to form for that.) She kicks the door, "¡Asesina, Asesina! You are a murderer, Juana Felipa Pérez!"

Fedra notes that Maianela was always Maximo's favorite. Why the sudden interest in Gretel? He tells her that it's none of her business but at least the Ruiz y de Teresa blood flows through her veins and the same can't be said for Emanuel. "You were pregnant before you met Emiliano." She denies this and says that Emanuel is Emiliano's child. Then she surprisingly ups the ante, "...but Gretel is not. Nor is she my daughter." "What are you talking about? Then whose daughter is she?" "Ask your sister, Carlota."

Actually General, just sit there for a moment and do the math. He does just that. "¡No puede ser!" Benigno returns. The general wants his pistol. The general loads his pistol. Benigno worries, "What are you going to do?"

Manny stumbles into his room, sits on his bed, and begins to undress. The bathroom door cracks open, "Baby." Surprise, it's Ilitia. "What are you doing here?" She gets right to the point, "My body needs yours, Baby." She kisses him. He wrinkles his nose, but not in that happy way.

Muñeca arrives at Crazy Casa looking for Fedra. Delicia shows her in. Fedra is glad to see her but Muñeca recoils as Fedra moves in to embrace her. As Cristal peers in from the hallway, Muñeca skips the small talk, "What's going on between you and my husband?"

Mari is puzzling over the pages her daddy left behind detailing the story of a 15 yr. old Veracruz hooker named Juana Felipa Pérez. "But what does this have to do with Fedra?" The anemia clearly has damaged her brain. Her critical thinking is interrupted by Netty bearing more food. Oh good, looks like a pork chop on her tray. She's curious and asks about the papers. Mari lies.

Ilitia clings to Manny like kudzu to an abandoned car. He caves and seems to be getting into it, "Marianela," he sighs.

Talk about a mood killer.

Fedra tells Muñeca that she is aware that Lo sleeps with any woman that crosses his path but hey... Muñeca insists but as Fedra complains that, "Yo soy una mujer digna (I'm a dignified woman)" they are joined by a loaded pistol wielded by an agitated Maximo,

"You don't know what dignity is!" Muñeca gapes, "¿Padrino?" Fedra is amused, "So the animal has decided to leave his cave?" He points the pistol, "I won't allow you to toy with something that is sacred to me." "¡Bernardo! ¡Emanuel! ¡Benigno! Someone come stop this lunatic!" "Arrabalera (riffraff) since you first arrived in this house you done nothing but sully the name Ruiz y de Teresa, but it's over. You are leaving here today! ¡Para siempre!"

El Mundo de Telemundo: Week of November 15

Hola, Telemundo fans! It’s NovelaMaven and it’s my turn to start this week’s discussion page. I am following Aurora and Alguien Te Mira. Jean is keeping you updated on La Fantasma de Elena, and Los Exitoso$ Gomez.

But there’s only so much we can say in one post. Thanks so much to everyone who comments during the week and keeps the discussion alive!

Aurora: ¿Peor que en tus novelas, eh Ma?

Last week my local Telemundo reception kept getting scrambled. (All I could think of was some little guy on a rooftop in southwest Milwaukee trying desperately to jiggle the dish and clear up the signal.) So I started watching Aurora on the Telemundo website the day after each broadcast. I find that I like watching it like this, although it means I’m always a day behind. So this discussion doesn’t include anything that happened on Friday. Sorry!

Okay. This is all getting deliciously complicated:

(So complicated, in fact, that it cries out for daily recaps. Are there four crazy people out there who might be interested? I’m deliberately giving lots of detail today in the hopes of enticing people who have been sitting on the fence and may not have seen every episode. You know who you are!!!)

The focus has shifted to vengeance.
All of Aurora’s targets for revenge have, indeed, acted badly, some worse than others. But Vanesa has twisted the events of the past in such a way that they are unrecognizable. She convinces Aurora that Natalia and Lorenzo were a couple long before Aurora arrived on the scene. They planned to have Lorenzo seduce Aurora so they could control her money. He never loved her. Natalia backs up Vanesa’s story, making it seem credible.

Lorenzo, in reality, is nearly blameless. He never betrayed Aurora. His only sin was refusing to listen to her explanation after the fateful birthday party. Now Vanesa has cast him as the principal villain.

Twenty years ago Natalia was guilty of cowardice. She knew what Vanesa was up to but, because of some hold Vanesa had on her, she kept silent. It was, of course, Vanesa, not Natalia, who invited Lorenzo to that birthday party. (The contemporary Natalia has become much more Machiavellian, and much easier to dislike.)

Now Vanesa pretends that Natalia’s sin of cobardía was hers. Meanwhile she commits far worse offenses against her nemesis, Aurora.

Dr. Gustavo congratulates himself for saving Aurora’s life but she despises him for destroying her love.

Even though Inés is now repentant, Aurora still blames her for not standing up to Gustavo in the past.

-------------

As we learn more about the Lobos family’s adoptive son, César, we realize he is a very dangerous character. He may be protective of Natalia and Nina, but he is a menace to just about everyone else. He and two of his thug buddies are planning Blanca’s abduction. (His biological parents will undoubtedly turn out to be involved in the story. Whose love child is César?)

-------------------

Blanca loses her enthusiasm for César when she catches him in bed with his ‘lawyer’.

---------------------------
Aurora announces to los Ponce de León that she and Blanca will be living together in their own apartment.

-------------------

It looks like Dra Elizabeth has committed a murder, (and not her first one, most likely) on behalf of cryonics: When Jane Doe didn’t die according to plan, Elizabeth helped her along.

-------------

With a little pulling of strings on Natalia’s part, Lorenzo is invited to work on a theatrical piece in Madrid. Natalia is desperate to get him to accept the job. She’ll do almost anything at this point to keep him away from Aurora.
------

Nina is willing to take her obsession for Martín further than anyone imagined.

-------------------------------------

What follows is more or less a recap of Thursday’s episode with some expanded references to previous events:

As part of her new plan to avenge all the harm she has suffered, Aurora seduces Lorenzo in her new apartment. As they are engaging in something that looks more like love than war, Aurora begins to slip back into the cold. Her lips turn blue. She can’t speak but she can move her eyes which are open wide with fear. She is aware of everything that is happening. A terrified Lorenzo bundles her up and races her to the cryonics clinic. Elizabeth takes charge and
works frantically to bring her around while Lorenzo prays for Aurora’s life.

At the graduation party turned family tragedy:
The guys at this stag party in honor of Martín’s med school graduation bring in a big beribboned box from which two bimbos emerge. [We can see clearly that one of them, wearing a blond wig, mask, and bunny ears, is Nina. How is it that her brothers can’t recognize her? Tighten the beanie y listo!] Blondie throws herself at Martín; he does what’s expected. When he tries to pay Blonde Bimbo for her services, she peels off wig and mask and reveals her identity. When he sees it’s his own sister, Martín is overcome with horror. (It will take years of therapy to get past this one. As I said before, we need the guy from El Clon!)

Outside the bedroom, César is putting the moves on Bimbo 2. But he backs off quickly when he realizes it’s Nina’s friend Vicki. Then César rushes into the bedroom, takes in the scene and punches Martín in the nose. Fortunately he mistakes the postcoital scene for a precoital one or he would probably kill his brother on the spot.

Martín wipes his bloody nose and proclaims his innocence. He had no idea who the girls in the box were and neither did César. Martin: You think I did it on purpose? You think I’m capable of doing such a thing? Well, no, acknowledges César, I don’t, no. He puts a reassuring hand on his brother’s shoulder. It was just a few kisses, he thinks.

Apparently that’s what Vicki thinks too. But Nina corrects her: Sí pasó, pasó todo! (Yes, it happened! Everything!)

César wants to take Nina and Martín home, but Martín refuses to
go with them.

At the Lobos apartment, Dr. Gustavo pays Natalia a surprise visit. [There is a hint here that these two have a past. Could Gustavo be Nina’s father?] They talk about keeping Lorenzo and Aurora apart – Natalia still thinks they are talking about Beta Aurora. The conversation is cut short by Dra Elizabeth’s phone summons: Aurora has suffered a relapse! (recaída). Gustavo is on his way. (Salgo por allá ahora mismo!) But he leaves a message with Natalia: Tell Lorenzo we need to talk.

Aurora languishes in intensive care, a breathing tube in place and monitors flashing in the background. Even though she can’t speak, her mind is active. She believes she is dying and these are her last thoughts:
Mi hija no sabe que soy su madre.
(My daughter doesn’t know I’m her mother.)
Mi padre no recibió lo merecido por lo que me hizo.
(My father didn’t get his just deserts for what he did to me.)
Mi madre no pagó por su silencio.
(My mother didn’t pay for her silence.)
Natalia no se arrepentió de su traición.
(Natalia didn’t repent her betrayal.)
Lorenzo, mi venganza estaba comenzando y no pude terminar.
(Lorenzo, my vengeance was starting and I couldn’t finish.)
Martín, de verdad me querías; tú no merecías un amor tan imposible.
(Martín, you really loved me; you deserved better than an impossible love.)
Perdón, hija….

The monitor flatlines and Elizabeth hurries to Aurora’s bedside and begins chest compressions. Se nos va! (She’s leaving us!) Gustavo tries defibrillation but Aurora doesn’t respond. She is gone! Lorenzo and Martín rush in and implore the doctors to freeze her. You don’t get it, says Gustavo. There’s nothing we can do! Ella es Aurora, mi hija! (She’s my daughter, Aurora!) She came back from the dead once. She doesn’t have a second chance!

Aurora’s Funeral:
All the principals are in black. Inés finally tells Blanca that Aurora was her mother and Lorenzo is her father…

Not to worry…
The death scene and funeral are in Aurora’s mind! She continues to be very much alive and hooked up to ventilators and cardiac monitors in the clinic:
Así habría sido mi muerte, una triste despedida sin palabras.
(Is that how my death would have been, a sad, wordless farewell?)
How fortunate that my time hasn’t come yet because I still have a lot to do in this world.

Aurora comes to. Dra Elizabeth removes the breathing tube.

And after the worst party of Martín’s life:
César takes Vicki home and warns her against pulling any stunts like that with Nina in the future – imagine what could have happened! Vanesa flounces in wearing a revealing garment, maybe a nightgown? César politely offers his hand when Vicki introduces him and Vanesa arrogantly ignores it. [It almost makes you understand why he is looking to make his living preying on rich girls.]

Martín shows up at the clinic looking for his father and he learns that Aurora has suffered a crisis; and that it was Lorenzo who brought her in for treatment.

Gustavo scolds Aurora for her behavior and thanks Elizabeth for saving his daughter. He knows she was with Lorenzo and wants to know what precisely she was doing that caused her temperature to dip so low.

Vanesa berates Vicki for telling her she was going out with her girlfriends and then coming home late at night with César. Vanesa finds the bimbo disguise in Vicki’s bag and Vicki spills the beans: it was Nina’s idea. And she’s the one who ended up making love with her brother, Martín. Well not her brother by blood, but almost. ¿Peor que en tus novelas, eh Ma?
(Worse than in your novelas, eh Ma?)
Vanesa allows herself a small, mean smile. Peor, she repeats.

Lorenzo continues to cool his heels in the clinic (no pun intended), trying to get the arrogant Crionica folks to tell him what is happening with Aurora. He is joined by Martín, equally frantic to find out about Aurora.

Gustavo and Aurora are alone in the hospital room with the door closed. He demands details! Without them, he can’t prevent it from happening again. All right then.

She tells him: We were just about to make love. And then I felt cold and I couldn’t move and I couldn’t speak, but I could think. We were nude in bed and I felt alive, me sentí más viva que nunca… (I felt more alive than ever…)

We don’t understand why Aurora supplies the color commentary to her creepy father.

And said creepy father, seemingly a serial adulterer, doesn’t understand why Aurora would involve herself with Lorenzo, knowing he is married to Natalia. Her answer:
Porque me quiero vengar!
(Because I want vengeance!)

At the Lobos apartment:
César and Nina are greeted by an anxious, suspicious Natalia when they arrive home together. Are they hiding something? What about Martín and Lorenzo? They were at Martín’s graduation party but they don’t know where Lorenzo is.

Natalia tells César that Lorenzo lied – he was supposed to be with his friend Ernesto tonight. Listen, César, says Natalia, a lot of stuff happened while you were in jail. There’s this woman named Aurora…

And back in CryoLand, Aurora asks Gustavo:
Me vas a volver a secuestrar?
(Are you going to kidnap me again?)
Gustavo takes offense. Everything I did was for your own good, then and now, he says. Aurora grants that he was right about some things, wrong about others.

But let’s talk about this vengeance of yours, he says. She asks if he’ll help her get even with the people who have harmed her. If it involves punishing that Lorenzo guy, he’s on board. You betcha!

Here’s what Dr. Gustavo has to do: He must deliver a message to Lorenzo.

And so he does, with great enthusiasm:
Gustavo asks Lorenzo: What are you doing with my granddaughter?
And Lorenzo replies: I don’t owe you any explanations. You’re the one who owes me the truth: What happened to my Aurora?

And Gustavo gets to twist the knife that Aurora placed in his hand:
You still call her yours? Did you know that after her last birthday party, she went abroad, the happiest young woman in the world? That she had a child by Federico? And that for my daughter, you meant nothing?

And at los Lobos:
Natalia finishes telling César about Lorenzo and Aurora’s love, a passion from the past that has flared up with the return of the daughter. César promises Natalia that he won’t allow Lorenzo to make her suffer because of Aurora.

Back at the clinic:
Martín enters Aurora’s room at the clinic, strokes her hair, and promises to watch over her through the night.

Blanca, happily innocent of all the nasty stag party business and still unaware of Aurora’s crisis, arrives early at Lorenzo’s studio. She asks for help preparing for her exams at the School of the Arts. He is reluctant, but then agrees. She is out of sight, maybe in the changing room, when Natalia bursts in and fills the air with shrill reproaches for Lorenzo’s absence last night. Blanca hears her accuse him of spending the night with Aurora.

It is, in fact, Martín, who has spent the night with Aurora, keeping vigil at her bedside. She awakens to the sound of his voice singing to her. She reminds him: he shouldn’t waste his time on her.

Martín knows it was Lorenzo who brought her to the clinic. Why were they together so late at night? We were kissing, she says. Your father is my impossible love.

Martín is devastated. His father is a married man with a family! She tells him her only concern is avoiding hurting Martín himself. Well it’s too late for that, he says, and walks out.

Back at Lorenzo’s studio, Blanca hears Lorenzo say he was with Aurora at the clinic all night because she fell ill -- although she is now much better. Blanca leaves to go to Aurora. Natalia keeps hammering away at Lorenzo. She tells him Gustavo came to the house looking for him. Everyone, says Natalia, knows about you and Aurora.

Lorenzo retorts angrily:
Entre nosotros no hay nada!
(There’s nothing between us)
He went to see her because she wanted him to know something about her mother, nothing more. But you know what? I’ve decided! We’re going to Spain! Natalia’s face lights up. (Anyone else finding Natalia even more insufferable than Vanesa?)

César assures Nina he didn’t tell their parents about her horny conejito act. Little sister turns a deaf ear to César’s insistence that her feelings for Martín are wrong. (Ay, Nina, if even César, who has the moral compass of Tony Soprano, thinks it’s wrong, believe me, it’s wrong!)

Martín tries to get Dra Elizabeth to explain Aurora’s illness to him but she refuses. Just then, a tv report comes on about a missing person: Julia Castillo, a young woman who was spending a few days in Manhattan disappeared two weeks ago. The police have found no trace of her. Elizabeth recognizes that Julia is the dying Jane Doe she bought from the hospital to fill the empty capsule in the clinic; and the Jane Doe she murdered when it looked like she wasn’t going to die after all. Elizabeth’s interest is evident to Martín: Do you know her? he asks. Elizabeth just walks away without answering.

In Aurora’s clinic room:
Inés reproaches Gustavo for not telling her sooner about Aurora’s crisis. He makes a snide remark about her ignoring her messages because of her little pills, but she sets him straight: Blanca woke her up in the night with a pesadilla and she had to attend to her: she dreamed she was with her mother and it wasn’t Inés. Aurora hears this and reads it as a sign of Blanca’s increasing affection for her. And at that moment, Blanca enters and throws her arms around Aurora.

In a scary warehouse somewhere:
Apparently César hasn’t given up on his plan to kidnap Blanca. He shows his accomplices a nasty looking space where he plans to hold her captive. César wants to be the one to take charge of her. His accomplices discourage that: after all, she already knows him. She won’t recognize him, he says. They will do it tonight. During the recital.

Nina thanks Vicki for helping her and keeping her confidence. When Vanesa appears, it’s clear she is in on the secret. But Vanesa assures Nina that she wants to help!

At the Cryonics Lab:
Martín sees the Ponce de Leon family – Inés, Aurora, Blanca and Gustavo – walking Aurora out of the clinic. Soft tinkling music plays. Martín music. Aurora assures Martín she’s fine. Then Lorenzo, enters the scene. We hear ominous angst-producing drum beats. Lorenzo music.
Says Gustavo brusquely:
Y usted – ¿qué hace aquí?
(And you – what are you doing here?
And Lorenzo answers, addressing Aurora:
Necesitaba saber como estabas.
(I needed to know how you were.)

Alguien Te Mira

Things continue along their grim course…

Eva wakes up in a disgusting basement amid jars filled with the victims’ hearts. She manages to climb on a barrel and get to a window. She figures out how to remove the bars on the window and crawls out into a space surrounded by a tall, chain-link fence. She hears footsteps behind her. It’s her captor who, once again, overpowers her and brings her back to his hide-out.

Tatiana tells Rodrigo to keep away from Benjamin. He’s so angry he almost tells her about Benja’s extracurricular activities. But he holds his tongue.

Piedad is overcome with pains in her belly and fears she’s losing her baby. Tatiana takes her home. Even when she’s doing a good deed, she can’t keep her mouth shut. She upsets Piedad by trashing Rodrigo. Piedad nearly tells her about Benja, but she too manages to hold her tongue. Later, Piedad starts bleeding. She tries to reach Rodrigo, but he doesn’t answer. He shows up at her place hours later. The crisis has passed, but he wants to stay with her. He is still there the next day when Julian shows up carrying a white rose and looking none too pleased.

Benja goes to Camila’s apartment building seeking solace. He calls her from downstairs but she is already entertaining a gentleman caller, Renato. She meets Benja in his car, and starts getting very friendly until they are interrupted by her boyfriend. Benja and Renato fight. Benja leaves in his SUV. Renato rides off on his bike. And skanky Camila is left alone in the parking lot.

Julian continues in his role of ‘protector’ to Piedad and Matilde.

Benja goes back to the clinic where he sees Julian. The two make peace and Benja agrees to see not only Piedad’s but also Julian’s patients for the day. (Must not be a very busy practice!)

Mauricio is rotting in jail next to the crazy guy. Mauricio’s lawyer tells him he’ll have to hand over the sex tapes if he wants to be able to negotiate his release.

Carvajal also tells Mauricio he has to hand over the tapes. She notices Mauricio’s conversation with the policeman, Amador (who has been Mauricio’s deep throat in the department even though everyone was blaming Eva) and confronts him. He denies any involvement with Mauricio.

The crazy guy’s confession seems more and more motivated by a desire for ‘three hots and a cot’ than by actual guilt.

Tatiana is driving Matilde crazy by talking about Mauricio. At last, Matilde loses her temper, asks her never to mention his name in her presence: he is dead to her. Unfortunately, she can’t escape him after all. The DA’s office calls Matilde to give a statement in Mauricio’s presence. He finally admits that the sex tapes exist but continues to deny involvement in Eva’s disappearance. In the end, he agrees to tell the authorities where the tapes are.

Pedro Pablo has filed charges against Lucía La Loca. He’s also investigated her references and discovered that they were all falsified. None of the ‘employers’ listed had even heard of her. She herself is busy with target practice and cutting up the pages of her books into heart shapes.

And now Pedro Pablo’s and Lola’s baby girl is missing!
Lucía gets little María Jesus’s attention when Lola is in the mall with the two younger girls and somehow manages to get her away from her mother.

Lucía has also been busy in the family’s neighborhood. She has placed flyers in all the mailboxes accusing Pedro Pablo of being a sexual predator.

Stay tuned…

Part Two by Jean: Aquí está!

Los Exitoso$ Gomez-

Franco, Amanda and Ricardo are still trying to kill Marcela. Ricardo hires a kidnapper. Franco pays the ransom but the packets of money only have real bills on the top. I assume that he hoped that the kidnapper would kill Marcela in retaliation for not receiving the ransom. But Ricardo has not hired a very good kidnapper and Marcela convinces him to let her go. She pays him and he identifies Ricardo as the man who hired him. Marcela tells Franco that she knows that he is trying to kill her.

Sol faints and is ordered to bed. Apparently she isn't pregnant, though. At Marcela's suggestion, Alex of the weird hair, comes back to do the news with Gonzalo. She puts the moves on him big time and unfortunately he succumbs. Tomas and Charly go to Las Vegas, which gives Gonzalo a place to get it on with Alex.

Sergio convinces Dani to help him find out where Martín is being kept. They trick Dr. Carlos and find the apartment but only Sergio sees the comatose Martín. It all comes to nothing because Carlos moves Martín so that the apartment is empty when Gonzalo takes Sol there. Sol won't believe Dani because she didn't see Martín herself. Dani finally convinces Sol that Gonzalo isn't lying and she goes to see him only to find him with Alex.

La Fantasma de Elena-

Lots happened this week as usual.
Elena Lafe – After a good night’s sleep, she went from catatonic to amnesiac. While she was asleep, Dulce tried to kill her by injecting a poison in to her IV. Elena didn’t have an IV line in at any other time during her stay in the clinic but whatever. Dulce gets interrupted by Martín and Ruth. She kills a nurse in the bathroom of the clinic for no apparent reason. Maybe she just didn’t want to waste the syringe of poison. She may have also killed another nurse earlier to steal her uniform.

The now amnesiac Elena doesn’t want to stay at the clinic. The only thing she remembers is the ocean so Eduardo lets her go to her father’s hotel in the Keys with Laura. Montecristo follows them. He is going to tell Dulce where Elena is so that she can finish the job but when she finds out that Elena is so far away, she insists on Montecristo killing Elena.

The week ended with Monecristo befriending Elena on the beach and inviting her to go swimming where he presumably was going to try and drown her. Laura finds them before he can can do this.

Andrea’s wedding- Rebeca pushes the wedding date forward but Andrea is showing more symptoms and collapses during the ceremony. Katie Barbieri really gets to chew up the scenery as the anguished mother. Dr. Tibia may have some kind of a cure that involves a bone marrow transplant. Darío wants to be the donor even though he has a dicky heart but Eduardo is willing, too. No one will tell Andrea what is the matter with her.

Milady- We get to meet Milady’s father. At first, he isn’t sure he wants to meet his daughter. He shows up at the wedding and is supportive of Clara. Clara identifies Milady to him as his daughter and he decides that he wants to meet her. Clara asks Jesusa to tell Milady about this. She decides that she doesn’t want to meet her father but we know that won’t last.

Meanwhile, Michel realizes that since he is older than Milady, there are some holes in Clara’s story about him and Milady being half-siblings. Clara denies everything. Go for the DNA test, kid.

Nena, Anacleto, Latoña and the Twin-
Nena et al are about to go the police station with Latoña’s statement but La Gemela (LG) is watching the house. She follows them and in trying to escape from her, Nena’s car is hit by a train. Amazingly, they all survive and seek refuge in Padre Aguas’ place. They convince the Padre of the truth of their accusations and he calls Eduardo and asks him to come over to talk about something to do with his son. Of course, LG is listening and she gets to Padre Agua’s place first. The good guys have realized that LG is on the way and try to escape by car but LG ambushes them and apparently has locked them up somewhere.

That's it for me for a couple of weeks. I am going to Argentina. NovelaMaven will keep posting and I'll jump back in when I get back

La Fea Más Bella #97-98 11/19/10 I'm leaving. I'm staying.

Capitulo 97.
Read Julie’s original recap which covers Cap’s 97 to 99. Then come back here to discuss it.

Today Fernando sees more clearly just how foul and revolting Omar is, and Fern pulls away from him. They even sit at the far ends of the table during the rehash. You see bits of Fern’s scorn throughout the caps.

1. Fernando tries to get through to Omar. Loosely, “The first man Lety fell in love with and gave herself to did it to win a bet. He did all the things we’re doing, and it almost destroyed her. When I leave her in the end, Lety will die of sadness.” Fern keeps trying, but Omar has no clue because he has no heart.

2. Fern won’t let Omar write today’s card because what Lety shared is too sacred, and Omar is too foul. Omar gets offended that his BFF doesn’t appreciate his writing, and Fernando kicks him out.

3. Saimon and Paula flutter like lovebirds all day. Marcia reprimands them for being late, but their giddy bliss and Saimon’s eagerness to get married are a stab to her heart after last night with Fernando.

4. Fernando tells Saimon to retrieve the always-packed suitcase at his house, and not let anyone know. Note, Fern told Marcia that he was late last night because he was packing for Germany.

5. Lety suggests that Fernando not go to Germany because he needs to arrange for editing equipment in DF. Marcia throws a rod. She saw the trip as her last chance to win back Fernando, and she thinks he plotted to get rid of her so he could be alone with his amante.

6. In several scenes in 97 and 98, people compete for the company and attention of Cristina Riva Palacios (CRP). In several other scenes, CRP sees Conceptos employees being cruel, childish, and nacos with each other, starting with Marcia loudly canceling the wedding in the vortex. Fern yells at her, loosely, “Fine! I’ll go to Germany with you, and forget about commitments to our clients! Are you happy???”

7. Lety tells Fernando she can’t take it anymore. She’s causing him problems with Marcia, and now with the company. She resigns from Conceptos and from his life.

Capitulo 98.
Read Julie’s original recap which covers Cap’s 97 to 99. Then come back here to discuss it.

1. Fernando lovingly convinces Lety to not quit, then he kisses away her tears, and he teases and flirts so she stops crying. Quite a contrast to his reaction when Marcia canceled the wedding. And quite a warm, close moment between Fernando and Lety.

2. Omar tries to patch things up with Marcia and tells her she’s pressuring Fernando too much.

3. Fernando makes a scene with Marcia in the vortex, similar to hers earlier, but this time in front of Ricky.

4. Ricky and Cristina announce that Conceptos’ commercial is one of three finalists at Cannes.

5. Marcia agrees to go to Germany without Fernando for the sake of production.

6. Yuri calls Luigi to ask for his help in her upcoming concert event with Mijares.

7. Fernando stomps hard on Omar, telling him to stop calling Lety rude names. Omar reminds Fernando that he still needs to write today’s card. Since Omar won’t be able to write the cards while he’s in Germany, he decides to write them and arrange everything before he leaves. So that Fernando won’t have any problems.

Eva Luna #13 (copy) Thu 11/18/10

Marta sent this to me to post - thanks Marta!

We get a repeat of Leo teasing Danny boy about Eva ‘asking him for’ the earrings to match her necklace and Danny Boy saying it feels like they are talking about two different women. Leo tells Dan Eva even promised him to use them on their date. Danny Boy is in disbelief… Leo ads that Eva was very excited to get the earrings… have told you many times, money wins points with the pretty faces… you have only interacted with her a couple days, I see her daily. She is just like all of them women… just the same.

The secretary comes in to summon both boys to meet with Madame Arizmendi…

At Villanueva’s, Eva is there to get her purse back, but seems Danny Boy took it with him. Even though he told Jackie he would send it back to Eva with Francisco.

Back at the office, Mata-Hari is excited about having a board meeting to present the new business opportunity… she won’t give them any advance tips about what it is all about. However, she asks Danny and Leo for discretion, not to tell anyone else yet.

At Villanueva’s Eva is talking wonders about Laurita… she is lovely. Jackie adds on ot the sweet talk. Jackie tells Eva that the one that hired her was The late wife of Danny Boy, Viviana, who, as Jackie speaks of her, sounds like she was a real sweet angel. Viviana died of a heart attack rather suddenly right after coming from a party at… guess where… at the Arizmendi castle!! She was fine when they arrived, but early next morning had the heart attack.

At Justa’s, they are preparing for the party, Justa says the cake needs a bit more sugar. Adriancito jokes about it being the reason Marisol has not married yet, Schmuck-tony laughs out loud and when Justa walks away he calls Marisol old maid. Suddenly they spot Ricardo coming home and they all hide everything… he comes in and seems to suspect something is going on…

Bruno calls Matta-Hari just as she expects the call. Everything is ready for the ‘show’.She reminds him she is prefectionist and expects everyone to be ready on time.

At Justa’s everyone is still in kitchen having a good time, Tony is actually sweet with Ricky for a change… Justa asks Ricky if he was not going to be at the gym all day, Ricky says his student/mentoree cancelled on him. Tony uses the chance to get Ricky out of there for a while inviting him to a chess game they have been talking about for a long time.

Back at the office, Victoria arrived since Matta-Hari also invited her to the meeting. Vicky lies to Danny Boy saying she called his house to ask about Laurita’s health. Dan is pleased she remembered (AARRGGGHHH!!!).
Board meeting has begun!!

Ricky beats Tony, apparently very fast ‘Jaque Mate!’… Ricky is leaving, but Tony manages to get him to say about what time he should be back at the house. Around 8pm. Again, Tony seems to be on his best behavior mood planning the surprise with Marisol.

Damian is outside the house and sots Ricky walking out. Follows him.

At Board meeting, Matta-Hari calls in the surprise, about a dozen models, more men than women (LOL!) waltz into the board room… of course the top model would be Victoria… and all under the command of a new associate… Bruno Lombardi! This totally surprises everyone at the table, the only one that seems happy is Victoria… Dany asks Matta-Hari what is the meaning of all this. Marcela says its about the glamorous world of modeling. Leo is confused. Is Bruno your associate? No, OUR associate. Our ad agency can expand its services by having its own modeling agency, which would translate into savings in production and lowering our costs to our client. Bruno has prepared proposal folders… When he is about to give a copy to Dan, Dan won’t even lift his hands, obviously not pleased at all with the ‘surprise’.

Outside elsewhere in city, Damian and one of his thugs are still following Ricky into gym…

Back at Villanueva estate, Laurita is home from school. She tells Jackie that she remembered she always gets a gift from her dad when she is sick. Since she remembers her dad was also sick, she wants to buy something very special for him. Jackie offers to take her to a place that would have everything she could think of.

Back at Board meeting, Bruno is done with his presentation. Vicky is elated to be the top model in the new agency. Dan says he has some comments but would rather talk to Matta-Hari about them in private. V-icky tries to pitch to Dan in favor of the deal. Leo pulls Bruno into his office and is irate with him about not giving him any advance notice. Bruno bails himself saying Matta-Hari told him not to tell anyone. Leo says he smells something odd… Bruno says I know… I brought more men than women… Leo says don’t be stupid, know what the problem is? I know you very well… too well.

Danny is doing same with Matta-Hari, he does not want to take the main focus/selling point of the company away from what they are known for, to come up with creative and original campaign themes. He also is totally honest with Matta-Hari and says he is not pleased with her bringing that whole proposal without consulting them first in private. We know nothing about this guy, how can you make him our associate overnight without getting to know him? Not only your interest but Don Julio’s are at stake here. Matta-Hari says trust me, your future mother in law, in her ability to determine what is best for us. Dan says he wants to review the contract they sign with this guy very thoroughly. Once he leaves Matta-Hari calls him stupid and says if he insists in getting in her way, she will elliminate him just like she did with his wife, his parents… idiot… (boy this woman has some large baggage in her closet/conscience!!

(we have a preview of ‘Triunfo del amor’ with Maite P and William Levy.. very soon)

Ricky is at gym training some young boxers…

Back at the office, Bruno and Matta-Hari, he asks if she liked the presentation, she loved it. She loved the figures he presented. And the idea of bringing the models along was great. Bruno says that was the goal, but the only one that seemed to buy into the deal was Victoria. Leo was not so happy and her future son in law was not happy at all. She says she took care of him. Bruno is ready for next step. Matta-Hari says there is one more hurdle.. her husband. We need his money and signature to count on the capital for the deal. Bruno leaves after kissing her hand. She caresses her face with it (EEEEWW!!)

Ricky is leaving the gym… Damian and his guys raid him. At first Ricky is defending himself but it is too many for him and they give him a beating… apparently noone in the gym heard anything even though it happened just outside the door. Ricky is conscious but fairly beaten up.

Eva gets to the house. They tell her it is Ricky’s bday. They tell her to hurry and shower so she will be out by the time Ricky gets home.

Adriancito asks Tony to help him blow more balloons… Tony is in a good mood tonite.

Laurita and Danny are having dinner, Jackie is kidding around with Laurita telling her Eva was complaining about her… No, just kidding. On the contrary, Eva said Laurita was a very cute girl and loved taking care of her. Laurita tells Danny that maybe Eva was also getting sick. Tells him the night she took care of her, she was crying, as if she was hurting. Danny stays pensive.

Alicia finds the earrings, and tells Eva is getting all the guys crazy, one kisses her and gives her flowers and the other one gives her expensive jewelry. Could he also be falling for Eva? Eva reprieves her. Alicia puts the earrings on. And insists that both men are in love with Eva. Eva keeps brushing her off.

Still at Villanueva home… Dan asks Jackie about Eva’s visit today. Jackie says she came by to get her purse. Did you send it with Francisco? No, sorry I forgot. (LOL!)

Eva is putting a very modest but pretty dress on. Alicia keeps insisting in Eva telling her all her adventures with the two guys… how is the man that kissed you?
Alicia: How is that man that gave you the best kiss of your life?
Eva: Look. At first Daniel was very irritating. It seemed like he was there all the time just to bother me. But then after that he changed gradually and… he is a very sweet man. He is very loving with his daughter… he has a beautiful glance… his eyes… yes, he looks at me in a way… he makes me nervous… and when he comes close… I get scared…
Ali: And you dare say that you are not falling in love with him?? Just look at yourself!!
Eva: (brushes her off yet again…) I am not in love with him… Lets go to the darn party…

Seems Ricky is late coming back home. Marisol asks what Ricky is thinking of not getting home. Justa jumps on her back to ask isn’t that something we should be asking you? Marisol puts two and two together and asks Justa if she is not jealous… Justa says no, by the way you owe me this month’s rent… don’t forget… Marisol says to Adriancito ‘she is jealous.. VERY’.

When Eva and Alicia come out Tony compliments both of them on their outfit but Eva is clearly not in the mood to jump for joy… They all hear noises at the door, gather up and begin to shout ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!’ but Ricky comes in and drops on the floor in front of them.. they all come running to him scared…

(we have a macy’s commercial with Jackie and Laurita walking out LOL!!! Never seen that!! Them merging a commercial with the characters in the novela just after that scene)

At Justa’s they are all giving Ricky first aid (biggest first aid kit I have seen in a private home!!) Marisol is not dumb and tries to get Ricky to confirm that it was Damian and his thugs who did this to him. Marisol wants to run out to confront them but Ricky grabs her hand and does not let her go… Everyone else helps him convince Marisol to stay. They tell Ricky it was Adriancito who came up with the idea of celebrating Ricky’s birthday. Ricky gets real smoochy with Adriancito and tells him he would take that beating again because he feels very fortunate… to have him. Adriancito is his best birthday present ever!

A while later they are still caring for Ricky… everyone is spreading around, some are going back to their rooms… Ricky says in a little while we will all party hardy… Francisco calls Marisol’s cel.. she says she is in middle of a rehearsal of a very tough scene… Francisco on his own side says his dumb secretary had arranged an appointment for him too. Dan calls for Francisco and he gets really nervous and almost screws his plan.
Dan asks Francisco for ‘a favor’.

We see Bruno talk to the mystery person again… he says the plan is almost in place, he could care less if some innocent heads fall right along with his target… all he wants is to ruin her (my guess is he is referring to Matta-Hari… wonder what relative of his does she have in her victim list LOL!! Could this guy be blood-related to other characters in the show? LOL)

Don Julio is playing video games LOL!!!... in comes Matta-Hari. He guesses she came to talk about THEM again… she says nope, I came to talk about a business deal you will love. He puts two and two together… ‘for which you need my approval and my money’. She responds ‘you are right, and I expect you not to deny either to me…

Back at Justa’s the music is on, Eva, Adriancito and Marisol are dancing very happily… in comes Danny Boy and Eva almost jumps right up through the roof… if she was just a bit taller she would have broken through it… Danny also looks scared… are these two supposed to be teenagers??

Justa and all her tenants jump on Danny to ‘make him feel at home’, esp Marisol. Ricky greets Danny nicely and then makes a funny remark to Danny about the purse under his shoulder (LOL!!) Danny says it is Eva’s, she left it at his house and he came to bring it back to her. Eva predictably says ‘you shouldn’t have bothered’. Everyone is still right within 4 feet of Eva and Danny as if they were all ‘alcahuetes’ (escorts?)
Marisol says we just have one more guest… they won’t let Danny leave… he is more than easily convinced to stick around for a while longer.

At Arizmendi castle, Matta-Hari is making her pitch to one-foot-under… he correctly guesses Daniel is not very happy with the idea… Matta-Hari whines saying he seems to care more about Danny’s opinion than his own son. HE reminds her Leo is not his son but he loves him as such. Leo just is a numbers boy, but does not have business vision (as Danny). Julio insists in learning what Daniel thought, or should he call Dan personally to find out? Matta-Hari keeps pitching the idea as ‘expansion for business matters’…

Eva introduces Alicia to Daniel…
Ali: You ar the ‘famous’ Daniel.
Dan: What?...
Eva: Alicia, please…
Ali: Nah, its just that Eva has told me much about you. (realizes she screwed up and offers to serve him some food).
Eva: He is leaving…
Dan: No, really I am in no hurry, I can stay a while.
(Alicia leaves them alone)
Dan: Then you did tell your sister about me?
Eva: Well, I think I mentioned you when I met you.. you would not think I talk about you all day long, right?
Dan: No, of course not.. (LOL!! He would remember he does that very thing)
Eva: And.. how did you know where I live?
Dan: You forgot that once my driver brought you?
Eva: Ah yeah, Francisco…

(Marisol brings him another drink)
Dan: I am so well cared for that I don’t want to leave.
(Marisol leaves again)
Eva: Why did you bring my purse yourself?
Dan: I don’t think I could lie… I was dying to see you again.

Julio: My answer, Marcelita… is… NO!
Matta-Hari: But Julio, you cannot deny me this!!
Julio: I have just done it, Marcela…
Matta-Hari: I want to do it!!
Julio: Perfect! Do it with your own money then! But don’t count on one penny of mine for it. Nuff said!! Final answer!
(Matta Hari leaves in a huff)

(Marisol spots Francisco outside, runs back in so she won’t break her fake persona, tells Alicia to go get the ice herself. Tells Alicia she is supposed to be living in a mansion in Beverly Hills… Alicia comes out and runs into Francisco… but nothing else happens there)

(Matta Hari in her bedroom is cursing loudly at the picture of her with Julio on her dresser. She swears every day his end is coming closer and closer.. she will finish him off and then she will do with his money as she pleases…)

Vicky arrives at Daniel’s … Jackie invites her to look for him even behind the window treatments… (Vicky is not Jackie’s ideal boss either lol!)… nope, don’t know where he went or when he will get back.
Vicky says she will wait for him… Jackie asks what if he does not come back home until 4am? Vicky says for his own good, hope not.

Jackie goes up to Laurita’s room to admire the expensive gifts Laurita got for her dad and to warn her that maybe she won’t get to give them to him, Vicky is downstairs waiting for him too…

Back at the lovebirds…
Dan: Your housemates are very nice, very warm.
Eva: jaja Yes, they are very good people. Know something? I was very surprised by your visit. I would never have imagined you would come here.
Dan: Well, then we are even… because… I never imagined that you existed.
Eva: Why do you tell me things like that? You are playing with me, right?
Dan: Noo! I am not playing with you and I am not trying to make fun of you! I simply… (always) say what I feel.

Alicia comes back to the house, tells Marisol seems Francisco left already…

Back to lovebirds…
Eva: Maybe you should go and not tell me anything else.
Dan: That is impossible. There are so many things I want to tell you… Starting with the kiss the other night. It was an impulse we both felt! (she looks at him as if she is hanging on his every word) Something that came from inside like… like a voice that told us… go ahead and kiss already, you are both dying to.
Eva: you are a liar.. how can you tell me things like that?
Dan: I am asking myself the same thing, Eva! I am also surprised to feel the things I am feeling!
Eva: (upset) Please be quiet, I beg you…
Dan: (smiling like only Guy can) You are very pretty (tonight)
Eva: (can’t help but like the compliment but thinks it better) Know what? You better leave already! … thanks for bringing me my purse…. And good night…
(Marisol brings him another drink)
Dan: Ay… I thank you so much but… I really need to leave now… I had a great time but… sorry… excuse me, good night.
(as Dan leaves, both Marisol and Alicia charge Eva)
Ali: Things between you and Daniel are more serious than I thought, Eva!
Mar: He is seriously hooked.
Ali: Yeah…

(Dan gets home to an unexpected ‘welcome greeting’)
Vic: Good evening, my love… Now it turns out that you sneak out on me at night? Where were you? (Vicky!!! Are you a teenager spoiled bratt?? Did you never grow over 15??)

Previews:
Dan: Are you smelling me?? (ROFLOL!!!)

La Verdad Oculta EP47 11/18/2010 - The night of the raging bulls

* David tells Mario that Gaby investigated after a tomb her father visited a few months ago. Look what Bertha did to Gaby, she doesn't trust her father anymore! (Fausto anxiously knocks on the table.) At first the two hotheads want to kick Bertha out of the house, but thanks to Abelardo's soothing words they agree that David will put her in her place and tell her to leave Gaby alone. Anyway. David asks his father to visit their employees who suffer under the reign of the Ávilas because they need his presence and advices.

* Gaby confesses to Julieta what Bertha told her about their father and she found the tomb of that Marta. Okay, but who's Marta? Gaby asked their father about her but he denied knowing that woman. However, he became very nervous after their conversation. Oh, and guess who payed the funeral expenses? Yolanda!

* In the Ávila condo Adolfo looks at a black and white picture of a young man and triumphantly says his name: Marcos Rivera Muñoz. He"s the one who sold the first diamonds, and he must be connected to the waitresses somehow. Yolanda objects, come on, they threw the shoes to a dustbin! But Dolphie is unconvincible. By the way, recently Gabriela's sister quit her job, too. He asks Marcos about Julieta but he doesn't know anything about her. Maybe she's also found a rich guy to marry. Dolphie doesn't have time for his son's stupidity and he leaves. Marcos starts to complain about her dad to Yolanda: he's the one who has many problems with the hotels, not Adolfo! By the way, Adolfo. He tries to court to Mario Genovés's niece, who is half his age. Isn't that ridiculous? Yolanda looks worried.

* While Asunción is watching TV, Juan José, the most confused galán of the primetime telenovelas arrives at home and although he had a pleasant date with Alejandra, he's very grumpy. Elsa, who feels very uncomfortable because of their last conversation, calls JJ on phone but he refuses to talk with her. I guess Asunción starts to feel like he was a kindergarten teacher.

* Marcos and Susana discuss what to do next. They'll part for a while because Marcos doesn't want to compromise his onetruelove. Susana doesn't mind it but she insists on guarding the diamonds by herself. He asks her to visit his sister and tell her he wants to talk with Juan José.

* Adolfo visits Mario to annoy him and to talk about the Guillén family but instead of a timid, sick old man he finds a fiery Fausto who puts him in his place. (And poor Abelardo has to listen to their conversation.) Dolphie asks him about the Guilléns: who will support them now that Gabriela doesn't work anymore and Julieta quit her job, too? Fausto explodes: he'll not support anyone, end of story!

* At home Adolfo tells Yolanda that the Guilléns have no income which means they have the diamonds! He orders her to call Gabriela and the two women agree to meet in a restaurant. Great, says Adolfo. The sisters must be very worried because they know the police looks for Marcos. Gain her trust and when she confesses you everything offer her our protection. Yolanda doesn't like the idea. Adolfo tells her she'll have another thing to do: a bunch of valuable archeological goods will be transported to the seaside house and she'll have to take care of them.

* In the headquarters Fausto, who's already a nervous wreck, gives poor Abelardo hard time again: this is madness, people will find out who is he, David, Adolfo, my kids... Abelardo advises him to behave much calmer.

* In a restaurant Gaby and Yolanda talk about her past, what did she do in the eighties? And who was Marta? Boom! Yolanda quickly invents a story about an old friend of hers who died of an illness and didn't have family so she paid for her funeral. Okay, but why did my father visit her tomb? Boom-boom-boom. Yolanda says Bertha must be wrong, her father couldn't know Marta, it's impossible, it's ridiculous... Gaby politely says she's not stupid. Yolanda and Fausto surely don't tell her the truth.

* In the AFI office our favourite cop speculates about the cuff-link, Roberto and his unique ring. That man knows the Ávilas, he mistreated the Guillén girls... What if he was the one who broke in their flat? He is going to talk with Fausto. *Viewerville: You're awesome, man.*

* In Sagitario David practically breaks into the office of Carlos and starts to yell his head off: Gabriela is his wife, leave her alone, understood? Carlos yells back, he insults Gaby and he gets a huge punch in his face. The boys continue their fight outside and turn the restaurant into a wrestling arena. When they finally get separated Adolfo kicks David out of Sagitario and the boy swears he's going to break their association!

* The ladies are ready to have dinner when David shows up in the hall. He's wounded, he's nervous and he has blood on his shirt. He wants to talk with Mario right now but Daddy doesn't answer to his knock on the door. He kicks the door, but there's nobody in the bedroom. Strange. Where the hell is Mario?

* In the Ávila flat while Yolanda is taking care the purple face of Carlitos, father and son are arguing about David. Carlos can't stand Blondie, but Adolfo doesn't care about that. If David manage to break the association it'll be Moustache's fault! Carlos storms out. Dolphie asks Yolanda about her conversation with Gabriela and she insists that they don't have the gems. Then what were you two talking about? Errrrr... about David, lies Yolanda. Love matters. Nothing special.

* David flusteredly looks for the contract in Mario's study. It does exist but he has never seen it! And where is his father?! He calls Abelardo and tells him Daddy has disappeared. Abelardo hurriedly calls Fausto and tells him to go to the Genovés villa ASAP!

* In the hall David and Gaby talk about Mario. He's worried about his dad very much, he changed since his voyage to Veracruz. What if he is sick? A very angry Fausto shows up and when David says it's 5 in the morning and asks where he was he answers in his best Faustiago manner that it's not his job. Okay, but the have to talk about the Ávilas. Tomorrow they're going to break the association! No way, says Fausto. Then David will quit the company. Oh, shut up, he doesn't have time for that. David explodes: fine! Then tomorrow he and his wife are going to leave this house forever!

Llena de Amor #70 Thu 11/18/10 Fedra confirms her reservation in hell

Redux: Uncle Max is all up in the poor abogado’s face because his will is nullified by his crazy behavior. Fedra and Spiderus gloat over the latest fake will that leaves all Max’s money to Eman. Ilitia tells Kristel that Mauricio tried to rape her.
We begin tonight’s episode with the battling suitors rolling around Netty’s Technicolor couch. Benigno shows up and drags Eman away. Brandon struts like a bandy rooster until Dolores smacks him upside the head.

Kristel tells Ilitia just because 1500 nacos buy her magazine to do who knows what kind of filth with it doesn’t make her the most coveted woman in the universe (codiciada). Ilitia gives Kristel details of Mau’s vile behavior but Kristel refuses to believe. Que sorpresa.

Oliver stumbles into Casa Crazy to tell Paula he had no luck in locating Gretel. Spiderus crawls in and Paula is dismissed for the arachnid-to-man talk. He tells Oliver that he (Oli) has all his parts because Fedra is a patient woman, but Spidey not so much. Our brave polis refuses to back down. He gets his hackles up and says he knows Spidey knows where Gretel is and he intends to come every day, every week, every hour and set up a hut in front of the house until he sees her.

Fedra pays a little torture visit to Gretel in the extremely tidy wine cellar. She’s got a sloppily wrapped gift in a box that Gretel will love. She nudges it toward Gretel with her zebra leg. Oh no, say it ain’t so!

Kristel throws Ilitia out of her room and has a meltdown.

Caiman has buddied up with the guys who beat up Mauricio. He tells them orders from La Reina, make Mauricio plead for his death. Tonight. After the guards close down the cells.

Fedra blows nothing off a dustless bottle and continues to bait Gretel. She tells Gretel she did her the favor of bringing her best friend, meow, meow. Horrified, Gretel opens the box to find NOOOOO!!! "My God, Dumas is dead!" Fedra tells her she was thinking about hiring a taxi driver to do that thing where they pull out the intestines and make a stuffed animal out of kitty. (Die beeyatch!)

Spidey pokes his nose in to announce the polis are upstairs. Gretel goes ballistic and hysterically screams for Oliver. Fedra lolls against the rack, opens a bottle, takes a swig and casually observes her daughter.

Doris asks Mari what in the heck happened between her and Eman? Mari asks Doris to take a vow of silence, especially don’t tell Netty. Her night of love with Eman was a lie, a farce, a mockery of love. Doris’s lips are sealed. (We’ll see.)

Spidey tells Gretel nobody can hear her, least of all the police. Gretel begs them to leave her and Oliver alone. As if foul Fedra could be moved by her daughter’s anguished pleas, puhleeze! She tells Gretel that the only way to keep them from killing Oliver is for Gretel to convince him she’s been toying with him all this time.

“What will you do with me afterward?” Gretel asks. Fedra smiles her toothy grin, they’ll put her on a plane to Switzerland, she can hang with the cows and the cuckoo clocks. But if Gretel doesn’t cooperate then the next time she sees her love it will be at his wake.

Netty is in a tizzy, how embarrassing that Eman knew about her and Emiliano. Embarrassed? Her friends say she should be scared. If that Axel went home and blabbed then Fedra will scratch Netty’s eyes out!

It’s nighty-night time in the big house and the bullies show up and begin pounding Mau. One pulls a knife and tells Mau to get ready for the longest night of his life.

Brandon’s a little pouty because Mari told Doris what’s bugging her and she didn’t tell him. She thanks him for being such a pal and she’ll never let anyone dis her again. He opens her window because she’s feeling a little wheezy. He leaves and suddenly there came a tapping, as of some one gently rapping, rapping at her chamber door. (Take that all you quoters of poetry. I can do it too, ha!!)

Oliver paces while he waits for Fedra. She appears from the cellar and he demands to know where his girlfriend is. Fedra steps aside to reveal a grim Gretel. Will she melt into Oliver’s arms or will she act her little heart out, the one she will break to save her man?

Mari’s surprise visitor crawls through her window and it ain’t the raven. It’s Eman and he wants to know what’s up with her? She holds a pale, wan hand upon her brow and tells him the only thing he wants is to destroy her! He protests he won’t leave until she gives him 10 minutes. Speak, she says, but if Brandon and Netty find you hear they’ll kick you out on the street.

Turns out Mauricio’s not quite the wimp I’d imagined. Instead of crying for mommy he knees his attackers in the nuts, steals their knife and goes on the offensive. He’s even bleeped, shame his dirty mouth!

I’m gonna hate this part. Oliver moves toward Gretel but she recoils, don’t come near me. He tells her she’s being threatened, right? Fedra and Spidey leave Gretel to her egregious task. She tells Oliver she can’t deny she had a good time with him. It was fun the way she used him to make her mom mad but now she’s done with him. Thanks for the great adventure but she’s tired OK? She’s bored with him. I can’t even begin to describe poor Oliver’s face. Anguish doesn’t do it justice.

Speaking of anguish, Emiliano’s at some bar languishing in a snifter of brandy. He stares at it and sees Netty ordering him to leave. An alcoholic ipod of the memory if you will. The funniest part was when he yelps “Netty!” and actually looks inside the glass. Dude, pathetic much? Emi’s imagination is in overdrive tonight, now he sees Fedra the wicked witch of the west in a mirror (or shiny plate) behind the bar. I was waiting for her to cackle “Aunti Em, Auntie Em” but instead Fedra blames Emiliano for all the bad that has happened in their family. He asks for the check and surprise! The barkeep is Eman who orders his dad to let him fight for Mari’s love. Emiliano shakes his head, wipes his face, and pays the real bartender who is looking askance at the crazy man.

Eman and Mari have the exact argument we would expect. He: I love you with all my heart. She: You’re a liar. One thing though, she slaps him and tells him never again in her life will she let him treat her like an idiot, never!

Back at the jail the bullies get the upper hand and stab Mauricio in the leg before hightailing it out of the cell.

Oliver pleads with Gretel, bears his heart to her. He knows her love and tenderness. She completed him. Meanwhile Spiderus stands outside the window providing artistic inspiration to Gretel by pretending to slit his throat. Gretel tells Oliver she’s a crazy schizophrenic and she invents her own reality. It’s not Fedra’s influence, its how she really feels.

Fedra and Spiderus and lurking in the hall just as Emiliano stumbles through the door. He staggers toward them, drunk, and begins hurling insults at Fedra. Spidey rolls his eyes in the background.

Caiman disinfects Mau’s wound with a lit cigarette. I never learned that little trick in first aid. Mauricio yells in pain and vows to get revenge against Fedra Curiel.

The Godfather calls his two lame henchmen, the ones who lost Christian, and tell them to stop looking for the baby for now. (Well actually, they were drinking in a café.) He has another job for them. They’re to make sure a tragedy happens to the poor son of Fedra, and no screwing up this time! Good luck with that one.

Mari and Emanuel argue for another whole scene where nothing happens. Finally at the end Mari tells him she overheard him and Fedra. Can we move this conversation along now?

Oh man, am I stuck with the night of nasty nattering or what? Back to the heartbreak of Gretel and Oliver. She laughs in his face, poor innocent schmuck, of course he wasn’t her first nor was it the first time she escaped from her house. He’s like a hobby actually. He kisses her but she refuses to respond. She’s never loved anyone and she never will, now get out and never come back!

Eman tries to explain his plot to fool Fedra. It was the only way he could think of to protect Mari. He loves her and he only wants to unmask his mother. Mari starts to melt but with great timing Brandon enters with her lunch tray.

Emiliano blathers a few bootless threats and lumbers off to bed. Fedra tells Spidey she’ll deal with him tomorrow, tonight she’s concerned with the little polis.

Right on cue the hapless couple emerges. Oliver tells Gretel it was she who destroyed their love. Gretel is in tears but remains silent. I don’t even know why Gretel wastes her breath asking Fedra if she’s happy. She’s positively beaming as she leads Gretel back down to the cellar.

Ilitia sneaks in through the side door with a bag over her shoulder. Is it her jammy bag I wonder?

Emiliano has wandered down to Uncle Max’s pad. (Oops, that doesn’t sound quite right.) Emiliano tells Max that he’s a failure as a father and husband. He wails that he never knows when Fedra is lying or telling the truth. “That serpent is ALWAYS lying,” advises Max. Emiliano says he has a doubt in his heart.

Eman tells her that if she dies he’s wants to die right behind her. They gaze at each other.

Manana: Emiliano wants a divorce, Muneca asks Fedra what’s up between her and Lowrenzo, Ilitia gets all sexied up for Eman, he kisses her and calls her Marianela.

Aventura – adventure, also means affair
Taxista – taxi driver

Eva Luna #13 Thu 11/18/10

Back at the office, Matta-Hari is excited about having a board meeting to present the new business opportunity… she won’t give them any advance tips about what it is all about.

Everything is ready for the ‘show’. She reminds him she is prefectionist and expects everyone to be ready on time.

Once he leaves Matta-Hari calls him stupid and says if he insists in getting in her way, she will eliminate him just like she did with his wife, his parents… idiot… (boy this woman has some large baggage in her closet/conscience!!

At first Ricky is defending himself but it is too many for him and they give him a beating… apparently no one in the gym heard anything even though it happened just outside the door. Ricky is conscious but fairly beaten up.

Eva gets to the house. They tell her it is Ricky’s b-day. They tell her to hurry and shower so she will be out by the time Ricky gets home.

Adriancito asks Tony to help him blow more balloons… Tony is in a good mood tonight.

Eva: (brushes her off yet again…) I am not in love with him… Let’s go to the darn party…

A while later they are still caring for Ricky… everyone is spreading around, some are going back to their rooms… Ricky says in a little while we will all party hardy… Francisco calls Marisol’s cel….

=================================================

Julio: My answer, Marcelita… is… NO!
Matta-Hari: But Julio, you cannot deny me this!!
Julio: I have just done it, Marcela…
Matta-Hari: I want to do it!!
Julio: Perfect! Do it with your own money then! But don’t count on one penny of mine for it. Nuff said!! Final answer!
(Matta Hari leaves in a huff)
================================

(ROFLOL!!!)
