Oops!

Sorry everyone. I screwed up on recording tonight's episode of Barrera and didn't record it, nor did I see it! I checked the esmas site and is it true that Maite discovers that Valeria is her daughter??? Man, the only time something happens and I have to miss it. So somehow Valeria tells Maite she's from Aguascaliente. What does Maite do? Anything? It sounds like Valeria doesn't know she's Maite's daughter, right?

I'll try to do Thursday night's episode.

Sorry!!!

Don't worry Sylvia, screw ups happen. I watched most of the episode but not that carefully. Yes, Maite found out that Valeria is her daughter. While waiting for Jacinta's driver, Valeria revealed that she was from Aquascalientes and responding to Maite's questions, the truth came out. Maite almost fainted. Victor had to take her into another room. The girls were curious about Maite's sudden illness but were not told anything. Right after that, the girls went to Jacinta's pueblo. After that Victor, Maite and Elvira kept talking about what an amazing coincidence it was that her real daughter and adopted daughter should have ended up at the same school in Canada. "It's just like a novela!" says Maite.

There was also a lot of stuff about Andres who is in Aquascalientes supposedly working for El Gordo but really trying to be a bullfighter. It didn't look like anything actually happened but there were many scenes of Andres in some market talking to someone on a cell phone.
The odious Rodrigo wants to meet Valeria because he's heard her mother is a slut and presumably she would be one too. Federico tells him that there are some women who are lovers (amantes) and others who are wives (esposas) and that Valeria falls into the 'wife' category. Rodrigo doesn't appear to be convinced and we can expect that he will go after Valeria.

Well, you missed it, but your recap is still more entertaining than the entire show was !! I am sorry, I am bitter..... I miss having a show that I couldn't wait to watch. I need some brooding, manly hotness in my telenovela!!!!! This show is like gettting ovaltine when you want real chocolate. (too vague? I don't even know what that meant!)Thank you for your recap. I appreciate the effort.
Cat, hiding in the front shrubs waiting for the mailman to bring me my Fernando dvds!!!

Thanks Jean! I appreciate the quickie recap.

Hey Catherine, I thought you were going to lay off the caffeine!!

Hello,
Sylvia-no need to worry that's the way it goes sometimes. I couldn't watch my tape til Wed. night, and I couldn't help myself and had to hit the fast forward button on those boring parts.
Jean-Thanks for the fill in...it looks like the flamenco dancers & band are going to have to pay money to the director to get some camera time!

Thanks,
-Marie

Sylvia- I have the cafffiene monkey on my back, sister! I have sprialed out of control since Albo ended. Send help.
Cat,standing on top of the children's swingset staging protest over slowness of mail delivery

Cat, HELP! Where did you find Fernando DVDs?????? Can't watch Barrera anymore, it puts me to sleep, but I am faithfully reading the wonderful recaps and will continue to do so. Am hooked on Peregrina, check out La Fea Mas Bella sometimes and am praying that the producer of Alborada (forgot her name) is working on another masterpiece.

Ellen-I bought Albo on ebay. there is a seller with about 10 of them for 90.00. She's in Spain so I have been waiting impatiently.....Netflix also has three condensed telenovelas with fernando. Amor Real is a really great one (more historical goodness). F.C. is better in that one I think. Although I kept wanting him to brush his hair off his face! The producer of both of these is Carla Estrada.Good luck!

Cat, climbing off of swingset to be helpful
