Navidad Sin Fin - Dec. 18, 2006
EPISODE 6:
(I missed the first part of this episode; here is the second half of the episode that I was able to watch.)
Augustin and children meet up with people in the neighborhood marketplace (the lady is Ana Martin (Rosario, AR); one of the men is Adalberto Parra (Delfino, AR, Higinio, Alborada).) Angelita with Rodito holding Gabriel the teddy bear at her side tells the group about all the people suffering in the world and that need help. She tells them about the angel of mercy.
In his office, Darro is burnt by the fire in the orphanage, he is holding a gun aimed at Isabelle and Monica and is talking on the phone asking his boss for help, the children have escaped. Darro wants a doctor - Monica begs for medical care for her brother Manuel laying injured on the floor. Darro refuses the plea and blames Manuel for his losses. Isabelle and Monica help Manuel and defend him against Darro. Darro continues to wave the gun and threaten them to keep them hostage. He presses Manuel to tell him where the children went. Manuel doesn't say anything.
At the marketplace, the group is stringing a light around the wall for Christmas. As they are talking, Manuel struggling towards the group. As he falls to the ground in pain, the group surrounds him. He came to get help for Darro.
Darro is holding Monica and Isabelle hostage. As they plead with Darro, Pedro storms into the office and attacks Darro, wrestling and trying to force Darro to tell him where Angelita and Rodito are. As Pedro pushes Darro to the floor, Pedro runs to pick up Monica to carry her out. Isabelle runs back for the briefcase of money on the desk - against Pedro's advice. Darro pops up and tries to fight with her for the case. Pedro yells for them to leave the case there and get out now. They all leave. The money lays scattered on the floor and a whirlpool of air starts to swirl it around.
The children and the group cry as they discuss how to help Manuel. Pedro, Isabelle and Monica arrive. Monica runs crying to her brother Manuel. Pedro kneels down and hugs Angelita and Rodito. Manuel asks Angelita if Pedro is her father, she looks and says no he isn't. Manuel makes a profound statement and then he dies.
Monica holds Manuel's head in her lap. Isabelle is arguing with the men about going back for their suitcases and to get help. Pancho agrees with the other men. Reina gives sympathy and comfort. Monica starts to cry and blame Angelita and Rodito for everything, including Manuel's death. She cries out "Where's your father? Where is Christmas?" Angelita tells Monica that she never lied about anything, that everything she has said is true and gives Monica a comforting hug. Monica still wants to know where Angelita's father is. Angelita takes Rodito's hand and they walk over to the wall. She tells the group that her father is there with them right now. A bright yellow light streams in from the upper window, down over Angelita and Rodito and lights up Manuel's body on the floor. Manuel's body starts to float in the air. Everyone is mesmerized by the magical moment. Manuel starts to wake up and smiles at Angelita and Rodito. As the light decreases, Manuel kneels down on the ground. Everyone else kneels down in thanks and prayer (the "Halleluyah chorus" plays in the background). The white light streams down over the entire group.

Hi J.R., here's the first half of the show:
The children escape the orphanage. Monica and a woman, Dona Isabel, pull up in front of the orphanage and Monica resists going in. It seems that Dona Isabel is there to adopt or at least take away Angelita and Rodito.
Felipe is in the police station computer trying to help Pedro get information on Darro but it is in a protected archive. Pedro is distraught.
Dona Isabel tells Darro she wants the kids and their passports and she wants them now, the taxi is waiting. Darro says he will make other arrangements for them. He pays the taxista who drives off without giving Darro change. It
seems nobody likes Darro. Two dirty thugs arrive and taunt Darro, telling him it's not really stealing to steal from a thief. They take Dona Isabel's suitcases; one is obviously a child's. They say Darro won't call the police since he himself is on the wrong side of the law.
Augustin and the children end up in a warehouse. There is a small camp stove with a pot of water on it. They are frightened and want to leave but Angelita says their father will look for them there. One of the girls has a bad cough. Perhaps it's CO2 fumes from burning a fire indoors? No, Angelita has a vision of angels in a tire hanging from the ceiling and they tell Angelita how to cure the girl's cough. Angelita sees angels all around them. She tells Manuel they are for him and his sister.
Suddenly the two thieves show up at the warehouse with their pals. It is their homeless hangout. The kids are frightened when one of the thieves brandishes his knife. One of the bag ladies (Rosario from Amor Real so we know she's nice!) scolds him severely and makes him feel bad. The bums decide to make a Christmas tree and the children cheer.
Angelita helps the homeless townspeople "see" their own personal angels. They are impressed that the children and Augustin escaped from that fake orphan-monger Darro. He has a bad reputation in town.
Dona Isabel screams at Darro that he will pay for all her expensive clothing and perfume with his very own money. He is impactado.
Jose Luis pulls a savvy young babe over for speeding. He wants a little action but she manages to buy her way out of the ticket by bribing him with money, flashing some thigh and calling him handsome.
As Jose Luis dreams of his "preferred payment" from the babe driver Pedro drives up and kicks him down onto the ground. He quickly gives up the address of the orphanage to Pedro. Jose Luis tries to mouth off but Pedro cold cocks him.
Darro discovers the chicks have flown the coop.
Pedro shows up at his house and tells mom and Reina he has the address of the orphanage. Veronica is impressed. Pedro runs out to get the kids.
Jose Luis is sniveling and searching the ground for his keys when a car drives up. It is the commandante looking very stern. Jose Luis starts to accuse Pedro but the commandante wants to introduce him to someone. Out from behind him walks the babe driver. She is the commandante's daughter! Jose Luis is busted, arrested and taken to jail.
It's gift time at the hobo hotel thanks to Dona Isabel's suitcases. When they open the child's suitcase Manuel recognizes some of Monica's things including her passport. He dashes out.
Back at the orphanage Darro is on the phone with his boss or a creditor. He says he will have the money he owes right away, but when he hangs up he wonders "What will happen to me? It's a terrible day. I hate Christmas, don't you Dona Isabel?" She cannot answer because she and Monica are tied up on his couch. Darro empties Isabel's purse which is full of cash. He douses his office with a big can of gas he happens to have in his closet then he goes outside and pours more gasoline around the grounds. He catches Manuel sneaking back in the orphanage. When Manuel tries to run Darro shoots him, accidently igniting the gasoline. The gas explodes in Darro's face burning him badly.
Even though Manuel is seriously injured he makes his way into the office and reunites with Monica.

Thank you both for the recap. I forgot to tape this show and was so disappointed. Looks like I missed the best episode. I sooo wanted to see Pedro beat up that lousy wifebeater Jose. So glad to hear that he got what was comimg to him. I'm also sorry that I missed seeing Ana Martin [Rosario] because I really like her. Do you think that we will be seeing anymore of Pedro, or is his part over now???~~~~Susanlynn, grateful to you both
