La Fea Más Bella #225 3/6/07 The plan begins...
Fernando enters Marcia's apartment. They give each other a chilly hello. She asks if he's finished with his work at the office. Fernando says yes, that everything is ready for tomorrow's trip. Marcia wants to talk to Fernando about something... but Fernando interrupts and begs off with the excuse that tomorrow they have to get up early. Marcia wants talk about the fight with Aldo. Fernando, being the "man" that he is lies and says it was about the company. Marcia doesn't buy it. Fernando took off looking for Aldo when Marcia told Fernando that Aldo was in love with Lety. Fernando mumbles to himself, but Marcia continues. Fernando angrily took off from Omar's office, searching for Aldo and ended up fighting with Aldo. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what happened. Fernando tries to worm his way out of the conversation by saying this is not the time. Marcia patiently asks him when he would like to talk about it. Maybe when they get back from their respective trips? Fernando points out that tomorrow he will be on a trip that will take him far away from Lety. Marcia asks if he's sure. Fernando cannot believe that Marcia thinks that Lety is going to catch up with him in the United States. Marcia thinks that Fernando is going to the US to get away from both women. Fernando explains that it's just a business trip; it's necessary for Conceptos. Marcia replies that she hopes that Fernando clarifies his ideas, his life and his feelings. When he gets back they can decide what will happen between the two of them. Fernando nods.
Alicia, looking angelic in the wedding dress of shame, complains to herself that she cannot sleep. The dress may be a little small, but she's not planning on removing it. If she keeps it on all night, she will fulfill her dream of marrying Aldo. The dress is very tight, but love is sacrifice; she's doing it for Aldo. Alicia sings the notes of the wedding march to herself.
Back at the apartment, Marcia asks Fernando if he's staying or leaving. He replies that he'll stay for a while. Marcia says she'll wait for him in the bedroom.
While Fernando pensively sits on the couch, we hear a voiceover of Lety writing in her diary. She almost gave in. For one moment, she believed him. She needed to believe him, how he begged for an opportunity to demonstrate his love. She felt as though she could die. She wanted him to demonstrate it to her. She wanted it to be the truth. Fernando begins to quietly cry to himself. Lety- "Although, after, I understood that... that once again he wanted to use me. The good thing is that I'm going to have twenty days without him. Although it hurts me so much that he's leaving." Fern loses it for a second and then gains control. He gets off the couch and heads to the bedroom.
Lety - "I know that Don Fernando is going through a difficult phase. He's doesn't know what to do with me and things with Dona Marcia are also going very poorly." [We see Fernando enter the bedroom, half-lay on the bed and stroke Marcia's hair] "Perhaps it will be better for the three of us that he's leaving, that he'll be gone for twenty days. Perhaps, I will be able to rid my heart of him. Although he promised me that when he returns he's going to demonstrate to me his love. El corazon a fuerza responde." (Out of necessity, the heart responds - I think; if I'm wrong, someone please correct me!) "Out of necessity it excites. It fills with hope, but I cannot permit this. The only thing that can save me is Aldo's love." [Pan to Aldo looking into the sky] "I should anchor myself to him, to the strong and honest love that he offers to me. But I don't deserve his clean and unselfish love because I am bringing a love that is completely the opposite." (So this seemed like a good idea to just translate five minutes ago. Now the chick won't stop talking! We're tired of looking at Moty PJ's, Lety. We know that you think Fernando is the Great Satan and Aldo is the greatest thing in the world! Move on!) I ranted and she quit talking! Que milagro! Why didn't I try that with the day that wouldn't end? ;-)
Hopefully, it's morning because Aldo looks awfully perky. He pulls up to Lety's house riding his bike and pulling another along with him. Pretending to be Romeo calling to his Juliet (Doesn't he know that they both ended up dead in the end of that story?) he softly calls to her bedroom window. When she doesn't answer, he honks the horn on one of the bikes. With some encouragement, Lety awakens.
Erasmo also wakes up. He wants to know what's going on outside. He throws back the covers to leave the bed. Julieta protests. Meanwhile, Lety opens the window and says to no one that it's Aldo. Erasmo peeks out the front window and sees the same thing. Aldo pardons himself to Erasmo who complains that Aldo arrives earlier and earlier. Aldo pardons himself again and explains that this is the best time to go out on a bicycle. He asks Erasmo to accompany them. Lety overhears this conversation and announces to Moty that she's going to ride a bicycle. Oh, there's a problem. Lety doesn't know how to ride a bicycle. Lety leaves her room complaining to Moty that she's going to die on a bike.
We are treated to a lovely shot of the airport at night. Inside, Fernando checks his passport and then calls Omar. He tells Omar to get up. It's late - five in the morning. Omar complains that it is still yesterday. Fernando says that Omar needs to get up and find out Lety and Aldo's location. Omar's sure they're sleeping like normal people. (Has he ever met these two people? They don't really meet the definition of "normal people." Fernando fake laughs. He reminds Omar that it's important that Lety does not forget about him, Fernando. Omar cannot believe this, but he swears that Lety will not forget about Fernando. Oh yes, she's going to be thrilled with Omar following her around reminding her of Fernando. Fernando tells Omar that he, Fernando, wants pictures of what goes on with Lety and with Aldo. Fernando will check for them on his cellular phone and on his computer. Omar jokes that Fernando wants Omar to do a reality show like Big Brother, but starring Aldo and Lety. Fernando has one more instruction, his most important. Every time that Omar gets a chance, he must turn over the painting of the conch shell. Omar says he understands all of his instructions. After Fernando hangs up, Omar repeats his instructions to himself. "Turn over Fernando...do a reality show about the conch shell painting...and make sure that Aldo's around all the time." (Why do I think the next few episodes are going to be fun?) Omar sleeps for a moment, but Fernando calls and tells Omar to get up.
In the park Aldo tries to teach Lety how to ride a bike. She doesn't want him to let go, but he thinks she's doing very well. He gives her a little push and she completely wipes out. Just like a fainting goat that goes rigor mortis every time it's frightened (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=we9_CdNPuJg), Lety remains in the upright and seated position on the bike, despite the fact that both she and the bike are laying sideways. Aldo rushes over to the two of them. Aldo removes the bike and then helps Lety. She claims to be fine and states that nothing hurts. He saves the helpless little woman anyway and sweeps her off her feet. Their faces get close enough to kiss, but nothing happens. He sets her on the ground and laughs at her little accident. Lety bravely re-mounts the bike to try again. He promises not to let go this time, but jokingly lifts his hands several times.
Um, Celso is doing push-ups. Yummy... Anyway, Omar sleepily enters the office with a camera around his neck. He sees Celso doing his push-up routine. Celso stands up and asks if Omar is really Don Omar. Omar says he's not sure. He is a Don Omar who should be in bed, sleeping with Slovakian models. (Sweet, we Slovak chicks rule! I'll come snuggle with you Omar, but...I'm not a model...and I don't think my husband would like that very much...Anyway...) Celso asks Omar what he's doing there so early. Omar replies that he's on a special mission for his loving ex-president. Celso offers to get Omar something. Omar asks for a quadruple espresso. Celso laughs and then says that after his routine, he will go get that for Omar. Omar says that Celso looks strong, or at least Celso's odor is very strong. Celso sniffs himself.
Omar enters his office and gets to sit in his chair without a battle. He falls asleep in his chair, but his phone rings. I wonder who it could be? It's Fernando! Omar asks Fernando why he feels the need to torture Omar. Fernando reminds Omar that this is all his fault - it's all because of Omar's ideas and that damned letter! Omar gives up and says it's all his fault. Omar begins to say that he has no idea how to make Fernando a constant presence in Lety's life, but Omar is interrupted by finding a photo. He now has an idea. Jaime Camil gives us a taste of his classically trained vocals and samples the "Hallelujah Chorus." Omar tells Fernando to relax and leave everything in Omar's hands. Omar claims to have much talent. (At what exactly? Meddling? Cause we know neither of you actually work, boys!) After he hangs up with Fernando, Omar smacks himself and whips out a pair of scissors. He immediately does what we wish Fernando would do in real life - cuts Marcia out of the picture! (Better hope that Lety finds the picture and not Marcia!)
Still in the park, Lety is riding the bike all by herself. The pair marvel at Lety's bike riding skills. The sit on the stairs and Lety praises Aldo. Lety and Aldo re-hash. He loves her; wants her to feel it. She was hurt by Fernando and is really scared. She wants their relationship to be separate from Conceptos. Ah! Julie! You must be the new PG! Did you see her stroke the necklace! It has magic powers! She wants to know if he told anyone that he loves her. He admits that he told two people.
The cuartel enters the office, gossiping as usual. They re-hash the Aldo/Fernando fist fight. Oh! We're treated to a re-cap of the Jorge Flores prediction as well. They're talking about the fight when they overhear a strange sound. What could it be???? Oh no! It's the photocopier! No one's permitted to work in this office! They sneak to the copy room to find the culprit.
Lety doesn't think it will be a problem if Aldo only told Tomas and Caro. They're very discreet and won't say anything to anyone. Aldo sighs. He doesn't want to hide his love. He wants the whole world to know. Lety explains that she does not want it interfering with their work. Aldo doesn't think this is the problem. He's going to love her openly and without lies and deception. Lety almost kisses Aldo, but Tomas interrupts’ them. They walk to the family and decide to go for quesadillas for breakfast.
The culprit is Omar! The copier decides to act like a fax machine and spit out blank papers at Omar. Sara stabs Omar in the leg with a letter opener and we are treated once again to "The Scream." The entire cuartel stares at Omar, mouths agape.
At the open air restaurant, Erasmo and Aldo make nice. Erasmo asks Aldo with whom he lives. Aldo replies that he lives alone. Erasmo thinks this is why Aldo is always out and about, but things will change once Aldo lives with a family. [There's a little interlude with Julieta questioning Tomas's blonde hair.] Erasmo explains that with a family the most important thing is unity. Aldo agrees but still believes in some freedom. Erasmo explains that he, Julieta and Lety are going to be together forever. [In case you're wondering, Erasmo called Tomas a "sponger."] Julieta interjects that one day Lety will have to learn to fly on her own. Needless to say, this pisses off Erasmo. He says the man worthy of Lety has not been born.
The cuartel question Omar; why he's in so early and what he's doing to the copier. Omar replies that the copier is crazy. Lola goes to help Omar but he pushes her away before she can find the picture of Fernando. He begs off, saying that he has a lot of work to do.
Aldo thinks that if he were in Erasmo's place, he would act exactly the same way. This pleases Erasmo. He's seen Lety suffer. [Julieta interrupts]. Erasmo says he wants Aldo to know that Lety is not alone. Aldo asks Erasmo for permission to help watch over Leticia, to protect her. Erasmo likes this. Tomas puts in his hands too, to protect Lety. Everyone laughs; Erasmo and Aldo half embrace.
Lety and Tomas think that it's strange that the cuartel has not arrived. Tomas is more preoccupied with Alicia. Lety asks Tomas for a favor - she doesn't want anyone to know that Aldo wants her. Tomas's face looks very guilty. Lety catches on that Tomas has already told someone. He remembers telling Alicia about Aldo loving Lety. Tomas lies and laughs. He is incapable of such a thing! Lety threatens Tomas saying that this is not a joke and that he better not say anything to anybody! Tomas swears that he will tell no one. After a short lull, Tomas asks Lety if he may borrow her car to go to the Bank. Lety hands over her keys. Before Tomas leaves he practices giving his card to Lety. Lety and he joke about the colors on the card. Lety suddenly becomes very sad. This office is missing something. Fernando is now flying to New York.
Sara stands on Marcia's picture in Omar’s office. She demonstrates how to scan a picture into the computer. It suddenly dawns on Omar that Sara is standing on the photo. She asks him what is wrong. He replies that it's nothing, he just wants to do this as quickly as possible. Sara continues with her instructions. Omar peers over the desk. Sara catches him, and thinks that he's looking at her butt. She backs out of the office with her hands protectively covering her rear. Omar runs for the picture, slips and smacks his head on the desk. Omar recovers and picks up the photo. He thinks to himself that Marcia will kill him if she finds out about this photo. Omar begins to scan the photo.
Back in the presidency Lety is still talking about Fernando. Lety changes the subject and says she received some mail from companies that will participate in the campaign. They spoke with Omar (I guess he does work) and now they want to sign the contract. She wants to talk to speak with Aldo. Tomas asks if she wants to speak with Aldo one or Aldo two. Lety replies that she wants the original, not the clone. The Aldo clone leaves for the Bank of Americas.
Like the strange little man that he is, Omar talks to his scan of Fernando's photo. He tells it that it will be present in Lety's life. With a whistle in his mouth and a hop in his step, Omar leaves for Lety's office. He sneaks past the cuartel only to get a strange glance from Lety. She announces that she's going to Aldo and will not be long. Omar takes this opportunity to enter Lety's office.
Alicia steps off the elevator, talking to her father. Tomas passes her. He asks how she likes the cell phone. She really, really does. He tells her to enjoy it and use it as much as she needs. Alicia tells Tomas that she could not sleep last night because she kept thinking about what he said about Aldo. She wants to know if Aldo really is in love with Lety. Tomas glances to the side and sees Lety and Aldo walking and talking. he remembers Lety saying not to tell anyone about her and Aldo.
Meanwhile...Omar begins his "brilliant" plan by placing photos all over Lety's office. He overhears Lety talking to Aldo outside of the office door. He knows that if he's caught, Fernando will not be pleased! (Run, Pinky, run!)
The cuartel rush over to Alicia to tell her that Marcia is awaiting Alicia's presence. Sara warns Alicia that Marcia has been asked for Alicia quite a few times. Alicia rushes to Marcia's office. Martha asks where Alicia got the phone. Lola thinks she took it from some idiot.
Alicia claims to Marcia that she's been the office for a while. The cuartel didn't tell her that Marcia was looking for her! Alicia says she has great news; what she thought was right. Marcia applauds Alicia for thinking. Alicia explains that Tomas said that Aldo was in love with Lety only to separate Alicia from Aldo. This news disappoints Marcia. Alicia asks why Marcia looks so sad. Marcia explains that she hoped that if Aldo was in love with Lety, then Lety would move away from Fernando.
In order to escape discovery, Omar hides himself in the cave. Aldo and Lety enter the office to talk about their morning on the bike. Lety asks if next time they're going to do motorcycles. Aldo smiles and says that he loves motorcycles, but this is not exercise. He thinks they should go skateboarding. Lety asks if Aldo is trying to kill her. Aldo replies that he'll have another surprise for her. Out of nowhere, he asks Lety if she likes that he brings her apples. Lety replies that she loves it. [Cut to Omar hiding in the cave.] He places the apples on her desk. With nowhere to go Lety sits herself on the desk. Aldo says he's going to talk to Luigi. He does some scary snicker and leaves. Lety seems to think this is very special. She admires her apple. Omar peeks out from the cave and comments to himself that this is the apple of discord. Ah! The Golden Circle of Tomorrow!
For tomorrow: When Marcia finds all these photos with her picture cut out, who's she going to blame: Omar or Lety?
Labels: fea
I totally agree that Omar and his antics are gonna be real fun. I totally can't wait. I hope Fern is appreciative of what Omar's doing for him.
I liked watching Aldo help Lety ride a bike. He's brought so many good things into her life. They do have a nice little zing thing going on!
He looked soooo adorable. With a request like that, who can refuse?
I do that all the time, focus in on something small and completely missing the large something that inevitably comes into contact with my thankfully hard head!
Then the lovely Omar flinched when he called Lety a Gargolita, as though his loving ex president were in the office with him. Classic Omar. All of this craziness ending with his face at the end frozen in the golden circle of goodbye, in Lety's old closet, no where to go, oh what is a poor Omar to do? I loved it!
Lori
So - what is it that Lety REALLY NEEDS??? (Other than wardrobe assistance.)
Oh - BTW - that Ariel is a real slime ball - yuck - NFC/'nuff said.
Thanks to all the recappers - now one of the first things I have to check every morning. Y'all take care - Peace & blessings.
It is really hard to figure out what's important and what's not. Sometimes I think my re-caps are a little excessive in detail, but I can only write it how I would like it (with a lot of detail).
I'm going to stand behind my statement that I think the next few weeks are going to be fun. The guy who plays Omar strikes me as a great comedian, and I'm looking forward to seeing him do more than snicker at women.
But did anyone notice how weird and scary Alicia's wedding dress scene was? It was out of place in tone. She seemed like a more demented Miss Havisham. Then later, she was putting the cell phone in her cleavage!
BTW, I don't know how you got that recap done so fast!
I think the fact that Aldo had to teach Lety to ride a bike and the that her parents hunted her down, shows what a bizarre stiffling upbringing she has had. The best thing that could of helped Lety would have been to have a sibling...well that didn't happen and she grow up in an "emotionally abusive"...I mean geez who is that sheltered, I realize she was a geeky unattractive kid, but come on, even geeky unattractive kids have friends...think "Math Club", hey don't slam me for that....you know what I mean. And try as Erasmo did, by stifling her, he set up her for her first seducer (Miguel) and her second (Fernando) and now her great savior Aldo.
Lety is socially retarded.
Shout out to Omar...keep it up
& why does Aldo stand so close to people? I work with someone who did that and it was like the company joke cause everyone kept moving backwards until you hit the wall and he just kept coming.
On the other hand, she was hilarious with the cell phone in her cleavage. Ladies, don't worry about a cell phone pocket in your purse or a phone holder. Just wear low cut tops and stuff it in your capacious cleavage! Keep it handy and keep it warm!
Omar and Sara in the copier room were too funny. Sara does some really good physical comedy with both her face and body. And her replay of the fist fight was good.
Poor Fern, he was really trying to convince Lety. Anon. 9:43 pointed out his history with women. He's always his choice of good-looking women, plus Marcia waiting in the corner since childhood, so he's never had to struggle before. Lety may be the first woman who loved the "inner" Fern instead of the guapo, rich playboy.
Marycelis, I can't get Zorro and I for one would loves to read any length or any kind of recap you ever feel like doing! It sounds like a show I would like but can't get the channel on my satellite.
I don't see Fernando or Omar as cads. Fern fell hopelessly in love with the kind of woman he never thought he would. His love is genuine.
Omar is like me with a box of chocolates. He wants them all and can't stop eating them!
I hope he follows Fern's lead and falls for a fea himself. I think that would be the best lesson he could learn.
Carrie L.
I also thought that Alicia looked a little nuts last night in the wedding dress, mumbling to herself. I hope Aldo doesn't have any bunnies, because w/ the way she was acting I think she'd boil them in no time flat. Of course she was back to her old self the next day---the cell phone in her cleavage was a hoot!!
I was bothered by all that time devoted to Lety and Aldo. I'm afraid w/ Fernando away, that's going to be what we'll have to deal with the next few weeks. So, I'm just hoping that the days don't drag on like they have been. Fernando needs to return to his Lety ASAP and start working on winning her back.
OK, let's take a look at Lety...so the girl doesn't cook, didn't know how to ride a bike, didn't know how to swim, and didn't know how to drive. She doesn't know how to dance or dress. How old is she? And isn't it amazing how quickly she learns all of these things? Especially driving, she picked that up in one day and was cruising around the DF in Tomas's swiggle mobile (with five passengers in a sporty convertible---very scary).
I loved all of the Omar scenes last night. He is such a funny character, and really I would say that he is the true cad on the show---but still there is something about him. And I just about died when Sara thought he was checking her out. I think it would be hilarious if Omar and Sara end up together. He falls for the fea who is his secretary. How fitting of an end.
Marycelis---you are recapping Zorro? For this website or another one? I was wondering if Melinama was going to add Zorro to the expanding list of novelas covered. If so, I'd be willing to give recapping a shot and help out.
Marcia is going to go ballistic if she finds all those pictures and our not so saintly Lety is sure to blame Fern which is all she ever does anymore. Another reason I still find her difficult to really care about.
Aldo with the family - too creepy as he keeps trying to butter them all up. He actually didn't look too happy when Robopo said Lety would always live with her family. I think there is a selfish side to Aldo that is beginning to show. He wants everyone to know he loves Lety - sort of like marking his territory and she rightly wants it kept quiet in the business. She told him about all the gossip and how it makes her uncomfortable but he doesn't seem to give a rat's behind what she wants so long as he gets his way.
Fern with his endless panicky phone calls is a nice touch. I felt sorry for him when he got grilled by Marcia. I think he wants to clear the air and get it over with but the business concerns and his terror of losing Lety are getting in the way.
I don't know about your area Marycelis, but in L.A. Zorro has English subtitles which totally floored me. Wonder if that would help. Sandy
We have a very unusual telenovela here: nobody is getting murdered. Even the villains aren't that bad. I myself am enjoying that immensely. I would like to try to keep the tone here light if possible - I know there are some strong hatreds for some reason, but we don't all agree about who to hate, so... well, when my kids were little an iron-clad rule of the house was: "Don't Criticize The Food Choices Of Others." ("Eeew, how can you eat that? Are you that disgusting?") You see where I'm going with this.
I'm not forbidding intense hostility and seething resentment, just voicing my own preference for a gentle tone when possible. We'll no doubt be back to murder, mayhem, and truly evil characters whenever the next show begins. Entiendes?
Diana
The restaurant scene & cozying up to Erasmo, playing into the whole "everyone take care of Lety" crap made me mad. Aldo's not even her boyfriend, much less engaged to her - what gall.
Omar is funny; glad to see him have his own scenes.
Love Fernando anywhere, anytime. The scene in bedroom with Marcia was sad and touching. Felt sorry for both of them.
Fernando in the Big Apple should be fun. Damn, he's gorgeous even in casual clothes.
I think the next few weeks maybe months are going to be very hard on Team Fern but the point of most great novelas has always been the growth and evolution of the two lead characters so that they become truly worth each other at the endc. In writing circles this is known as The Hero's Journey and it is never easy.
Gui doesn't look like he has an ounce of a sense of humor tho - which is a dealbreaker where I'm concerned.
Of course, the trip to Germany for the FIFA lasted about three months real time = 1 week in TV land.
Wishful thinking...I want Fern back at Conceptos pronto. The almost kisses with Aldo are really getting on my nerves.
On a side note... When Aldo was talking to his Pops about Lety, Pops asked him if he was thinking of Lety's needs (since Fern doesn't). I'm wondering if this is leading to some stalker background he has. Maybe he's the obsessive type that wants what he can't have, then when he has it he doesn't want it. That could be the reason behind ignoring his wife to the point she has to cheat on him with his BBF to get his attention.
Just a thought...
I will try again sometime and I will post it here (I just wasn't sure at first since it seems only univision recaps). Gotta go, receptionist is waiting for her seat. Later
Now I really gotta get back to work, else i am going to worse than el cuartel.
Maricruz, wishing she was as funny as Susanlynn, and hoping that she is never caught talking to herself in a wedding dress.
Love the GEICO caveman.
I was really uncomfortable with all the men saying "we'll protect Lety" last night like she was a child. I can understand Erasmo having difficulty ever seeing her as an adult, and Tomas is just weird, but Aldo?
Come on, Aldo, do you want a grown woman, or do you want a helpless little girl? Because if he really does want a grown woman, then he only said that to RoboPop in order to suck up... which is also uncool.
I try to be patient with Aldo. I try not to hate him, I try to see the good that he does for Lety, I try to forget that he's a meddlesome interloper, but then we're given a scene like that and I'm back to square one.
I think it is really ironic that Lety is hurt so badly that Fernando is "secretly" in love with her, and no one could know, and now she is doing the same thing to Aldo. Although, I don't care because I want Aldo to disapear. Every time he gets near enough to her to kiss her, I yell NO! My husband thinks I'm crazy...
Ruth
Oh and those Geico caveman believe it or not I read they are going to get their own show. I also love them right along with the gecko who in normal circumstances would have me running screaming for the house in real life.
Cassie
You know, in these telenovelas there HAS to be another love interest oe else where would the story be? At least they got somebody who is great looking and isn't a total jerk to Lety. In fact he really does treat her great. But the best thing is, he actually makes Fernando sit up and take notice--which will no doubt prove ultimately benficial for Lety! Why? Because maybe this rivalry will make Fernando Grow Up-take some responsibilty for his actions. He may also realize that he'd really better start putting Lety first-not just "saying in private that he loves her", but actually showing his love for her to the whole world-including his & her parents!
We should really be thanking Aldo, for forcing Fernando to change-which without him around as a caralyst, who knows if or when he woud have ever done it??
Believe me, there could have been much worse choices for that role...think of the guy who plays Ariel, for one!?! LOL!
Alicia who also knows, deep down that there is no chance for her with Aldo needs to put away the cursed wedding outfit get into some comfortable clothes and grow a sense of compassion. I swear there must be out-takes somewhere of her popping out of those tops. She is cinched so tight it sometimes make me hurt to look at her, although she does cry beautifully, and I wish I had that shade of gloss she was wearing last night.
Janet
I think that Lety is relying on Aldo because he is "safe" for her right now. She's still licking her wounds from round one with Fernando. So Aldo is someone she thinks won't hurt her, but I don't think she loves him as anything more than a friend. So will she end up using him and hurting him when this is all over? Who knows, but perhaps that is part of her character growth---to be on the other side of causing hurt.
IMHO, Lety and Fernando are soul mates. They found something in each other that no one else ever did, and they've got all this other stuff to work through, but they'll do it. I don't know, but I just don't think we've been through all we've been through w/ Ferny and Lety to see them not end up together.
On a different note, I know that Zorro is broadcast w/ subtitles in English. I've been trying to watch w/o them. But I would love to have a recap on here just in case I miss an episode and I think it's been said already, there is plenty, PLENTY of material on which to comment. I'd love to find out what other Zorro watchers are thinking and since I love this web site, why not have two great tastes that taste great together? So I'm game and I'll be emailing you later, Melinama.
You raise an interesting point. Aldo is busy ingratiating himself with Lety's parents and while both of them had liked Fern in the past he is going to have a hard time winning them back. Julieta hates him because she read the diary and of course is clueless to the number of times since then that Fern has told Lety he sincerely loves her, Erasmo doesn't think anyone is good enough for Lety and he remembers an out of control Fern calling her a thief.
Then again he does like Don H.
The biggest hurdle in the parents stakes is that Fern's parents both detest Lety and it will be interesting to see if Fern finally stands up to them and tells them he doesn't care if they like her or not. On the other hand if she can save the
business Don H might give her a few points.

Carrie, sorry i didn't see your post earlier, just bypassed it mistake. If you want too, I'll post those two paragraphs but I what can anybody comment about with two paragraphs?
I don't blame Aldo for looking a little sad/miffed/annoyed at Erasmo when Robopop said Lety would live with mom and pop always. That made ME annoyed with Erasmo too. How much more smothering can he get???
I know I'm probably one of the few Aldo fans but I still like him a lot. He may not be the perfect man for Lety, but I'm glad he's with her now.
Fernando makes me so tired watching him and listening to him scheme. He's nothing but lies and evasivness. If he put all that energy into being honest he'd be so much further along with his life. I feel so sorry for Marcia. No wonder she's in a rotten mood most of the time. She's probably tired of being jerked around by Fern. I wish Marcia could find someone as nice as Aldo.
Nina K: Alicia reminded me of Miss Haversham in her jilted bride scene, as well. But would Alicia ever let a good wedding cake go to waste?

is this about my pic? i just love penguins is all. i explain why on my blog profile.
I chuckled when Omar mentioned Celso’s smell—hubby and I call that the “hero smell.” I leave it to your imagination, dear reader.
I figured Erasmo called Tomás “that sponger.” Thanks for the confirmation! Aldo sure does know how to work Erasmo. I like Aldo, but that makes me nervous. There’s his Eddie Haskell impression.
Nina!! I didn’t know other folks remembered Miss Havisham! I thought my family was the only one in the world who discussed Dickens at home….(my parents are still referred to by me and the sibs as “the Aged Ps”). Maybe Alicia had a bottle of something by her side….
Marcia’s gonna have to have that dress dry-cleaned. It’s been around the world.
FWIW, Zorro could be a pretty easy one to recap because it has the English captions on CC1. Jean (Mundos?) did a nice impromptu recap/summary of a couple of weeks’ worth of Zorro a while back.
Diana, I now realize that Castulo is Gui! Oooh, la, la, as Castulo he is a super hunk. Must be the facial hair and the lack of clothes that make the difference. Good call!
/mab, good point about chefs. My friend owned his own restaurant and had no vacations and darn few days off in 10 years. He sold it and went to law school. I think he actually has a life now.
Anon 7:09 p.m. ROTFL! Alicia would NEVER let a good wedding cake go to waste! To waist, maybe, but that’s why corsets were invented.
Melinama, thanks for reminding everyone that this is a labor of LOVE, and no one pays any of you to do all this work. It is a phenomenal effort and anyone who is paying attention DEEPLY appreciates your efforts, and the efforts of every recapper at this site. The reason folks from all over the world visit this site is because you volunteers put so much into it. You are totally correct when you suggest/imply that hostility on this blog is inappropriate. There is no killing, as you note, just a whole bunch of idiosyncratic human beings living the best they can in this telenovelas. There is no reason for anyone to flame anyone else here. For all you do for us, ¡Muchas, muchas gracias!

Somebody named Cathy just volunteered to open the Zorro segment of our blog. So anybody else who wants to join her team, let me know. I personally don't get this channel, sniff.
I feel your pain re: not getting Telemundo. Pua ting! (Hawaii pidgen for pobrecita.....)

ahh, now I get it -- a penguin is like santaclaus sitting on a beach in July (just bcs you have to be at the north/south pole some times doesn't mean yagotta be there all the time) -- slomo gismos work on me -- takes me awhile to 'get it'

I've no idea in this modern world whether people still hesitate to marry when there will be all kinds of in-law problems, especially the class issue, but in my grandparents' time it was a big deal to be cautious about having in-laws that were tolerable. [In a tight family culture, surely Lettie would be very hesitant to have inlaws like Don Humb et ux; and, not believe they would stand for her at all; and, further not believe that DonFerni would ever go against their wishes, ever, ever, never, ever, ever.]
