Pasion Friday Feb 15 - Foreman shows Juancho who's boss

LaFont discovers that his love letters with John Foreman are missing. (ok not love letters, that was a joke)

La Paisana explains to Foreman why Ric killed Lazaro. I have to say Ric just killing him instantly was awesome. No dragged out James Bond ten opportunities to escape BS, just “I’ve been looking for you to kill you, now I’m here, I’m going to kill you” and then he did. Anyway, Hernan says that Ric always had a soft heart, Foreman goes off on him that it isn’t about his heart at all, he had the right to kill him, because when your captain gives you an order, you OBEY. Blind loyalty has disappeared in this profession, Foreman says disgustedly.

Justo makes plans in his yard for the wedding party while Vasco watches. Ascanio arrives and tells Vasco what he found and didn’t find on his travels. Vasco tells him that Camila signed the document to buy the mill, but Ric has to sign it and he hopes he will refuse, saving Camila’s money. Ascanio thinks Ric will go along with his wife’s wishes. Justo sees Ascanio and yells out to him, Vasco says Justo doesn’t know anything about the mill yet.

Foreman asks La Paisana if Juancho is smart enough to be the boss of he land pirate gang, she says he has the brain of a fly. But – they have corrupted enough of the local law that they run around as they please. They seem to be going overboard and the locals are getting tired of them. If the crown investigates anything, it will surely lead to them. Foreman says they need someone smarter, what about her? She says she’s too old and tired. She wants to retire, and she says that Foreman should think about that too. After she leaves, Hernan says she’s right, Juancho is an idiot. Foreman suggests El Chino as a potential leader for the gang. Hernan says El Chino might be a little too good for these guys.

Camila is being really dumb and won’t accept the fact that GRita hates her, as Jimena is trying to convince her. Jimena is right and gives all the evidence of her jealousy, etc. Camila trusts everyone (including Jimena) when she shouldn’t. Her second chances have given Cleo an opportunity to cause trouble already. She needs to wise up. She hopes that Ric will be back in time for the wedding since they are supposed to be testigos.

Mario gets off his horse and whines about missing the sea. Ric agrees, but points out the bad parts of the sea too. Mario asks if the letters stolen from LaFont are proof enough, Ric says with those and if Pastor testifies to what he told Ric and Mario, then for sure they are proof enough, but he doesn’t think Pastor will go along, as he would be incriminating himself. Mario says the Spanish could torture it out of Pastor. Ric says sure, but maybe they can get to Foreman and skip all that.

Camila, Jimena, Fran, and Camila are all having tea together, I think Lis set it up and is trying to pretend to be nice. She wants to know what she can give Ines as a wedding gift. Camila doesn’t have any good ideas, she suggest asking Ines directly, Lis says no, she doesn’t really know her at all. Fran says they’ll think of something. Lis asks if Ric is going to the wedding, Camila says yes because they will be the witnesses. Lis gets all sour and fumbles for her cup, I guess now even the simple mention of ‘we’ that means Ric and Camila together sets her off. She and GRita need to leave and form their own little place, Jealous Island or something. They can sit and complain all day about how the men they are after are so confused, or whatever jealous women rant about.

LaFont walks to the palace.

Lis and Fran walk back to their room, appalled that Ric will be a wedding witness with a false name. ah, that must be what Lis was all shaky about. Maybe. My first theory still sounds about right. They discuss the usual things, again. Getting help from Alberto, which Lis seems to be warming too but not convinced just yet, and then on and on about Camila having Lis’s money. Fran says something about Ric going back out to sea to get more money by killing and robbing people, Lis gets upset and says he only did/does that stuff because of Fran and Tim framing him for that murder. Fran again claims innocence, Lis doesn’t believe her.

Sofia tells Manuela that Uriel wants to marry her, she isn’t very excited about it, Sofia understands that she really wants a real man, like they sing about in songs. Manuela asks if Sofia has had those thoughts too? Sofia says of course, she got married about Maneula’s age, and besides those guys don’t exist. Manuela says sure but there are nice guys. Sofia says if she means Ascanio then forget it. Manuela says of course not him, Sofia says of course YES him! But – Alberto would never allow it. Unless, Ascanio… changes. She asks Manuela if he is friends with Santiago, Manuela says yes he works with him, why? Sofia gets a real twinkle in her eye and says “oh just curious.” I guess Ascanio can be part of the ‘inner circle’ like Jorge put together with his loser friends.

LaFont fills in Jorge about the letters and that it puts them in a bit of trouble. He suspects Ric of the theft. Jorge is a bit slow, he hasn’t put it all together about Ric finding that cart and suspecting Alberto, even though they went and killed the witnesses and all that. They are a bit confused about what he was or wasn’t looking for or what he did or didn’t get into at LaFont’s house. They move on, Alberto tells of his visit with Don Gaspar. It appears that our Ric isn’t the pirate cousin, but get this – both Rics are godsons of Don Gaspar. Jorge says what a strange world we live in, laughing. Jorge then says that Gonzalo has gone from being a pain to being a real danger.

Later there is a party, Gonzalo is drunk and talking about robbing a caravan, the others tell him to be quiet. Gonzalo says that if anything happens to him because he is going against Jorge, there is someone who knows EVERYTHING and will get them all in big trouble. He won’t tell who that is. Then the hookers come out and everyone is distracted.

Jorge and LaFont continue to discuss the fact that Gonzalo is stupid and a danger, they might have to kill him. Then Jorge tells LaFont that Foreman sent that letter and is coming to San Fernando. LaFont is not pleased, Jorge is looking forward to it.

Santiago tells his mother again that he could pay for Ines’s wedding, Sofia shouldn’t do it. Get over it already. Ofelia wants to know how things are with GRita, he says the same. They hope she shapes up after having the baby. Santiago wants to know what’s up with Ofelia lately, she claims all sorts of stuff about the wedding, Vasco, etc. Santiago doesn’t believe her. He tells her that Camila bought the mill to give to her father. Still, he thinks Ofelia isn’t telling him everything and he presses her, she talks about what a good son and man he is. She doesn’t want him to change, he says he never would, no matter what she says. She stumbles around what she wants to say but won’t come out with it. She wants him to stay the same good man as always, no matter what. She says she has to finish the wedding dress and that’s his cue to leave.

Uriel and Marcel weave tell Alberto and Jorge about what Gonzalo said. I guess they weren’t at a party, they were just at the whorehouse. So I’m sure they smell great, and here Alberto and Jorge keep on eating right in front of them. I suppose the array of odors on people back then were more than we could ever imagine and to them it was normal. They all think that Gonzalo is full of it, but they still have to try and make sure. Jorge asks when the next caravan is coming, they don’t know, he wants to know exactly when. I’m not sure if they are going to attack it, or just to go and find and stop Gonzalo.

Ric and Mario arrive home late at night. Pablo reports on Camila’s business. One place was the palace, Mario wonders why but Ric says he knows why. Ric goes to his room, Camila is already there sleeping. He touches a kiss to her lips with his fingers, then leaves the room. He asks the servant to prepare him a bath, he doesn’t look very happy.

Alberto yells with a purple face at Nana that she had to see something about what the robbers looked like! She doesn’t have much to offer. Manuela asks if he suspects someone, he shuts her up with a dark look.

After his bath Ric goes back to his room. He walks around with no shirt for all you ladies. He gets into bed and wakes up Camila, the Disney song comes on so I guess they are going to have sex. She says she was having a dream with him, a good one. He says now he’s here for real. I guess a lot of you love these scenes, they make me want to fast forward. In the morning they eat breakfast and tell each other how good looking they are. She says they will be testigos for Vasco, he doesn’t seem thrilled. He asks why she went to the palace, she tells of the mill and buying it. He reminds her of the ED card. She is sure that Bernabe won’t go against her. Ric doesn’t like all this. She says if his father was alive, she would do the same. He says yes, but that’s him. She says women are different? He says not women, just that he has more ways to defend himself. He is upset that she disregards the ED card so quickly. She says she needs his signature. He asks if she wants him to sign it, she says yes, and he says yes. He says he needs to resume business though, to get enough money to cover what the ED card might take away. She reminds him that he was going to go straight, he says the fortune of his… uh from Tim was 2.8 million pesos, he can’t recover all that without pirating. She says well hopefully nothing will go wrong. He tells her about his conversation with Pastor. She doesn’t want him to return to pirating. He says he’ll do whatever to keep her out of debtor’s prison. They have to wait and see what happens with that stupid ED card. How come nobody is laying blame on Justo for not making sure it was burned all the way?

Sofia and family leave for the wedding, she tells Jorge that he should go too, to show that he doesn’t hold any hard feelings. He agrees and goes to change.

GRita is already complaining that the wedding better not take long, she’s more tired each day. And we are more tired of her each day! Santiago tries to be nice to her, he truly is a saint for putting up with this. She says whatever, they can’t stay until the end, she needs to rest. Ines comes outside all dressed up, she looks really pretty and they all tell her so. Ofelia gives Ines a present, a broach she was saving. GRita asks why she never showed it to anyone before, Santiago says they were saving it for a gift. GRita is immediately suspicious and asks a gift for who? Santiago deliberately tells her “ For my SISTER on her WEDDING DAY.” Man GRita pisses me off. She continues to look at Santiago like she doesn’t believe him. Santiago says he didn’t buy it, he found it, when he survived a shipwreck. We see a flashback of Santiago finding the broach on the beach with a long beard, then in the present he slips up and says he kept it as a present for Camila. GRita asks why didn’t he give it to her (GRita) then? He doesn’t answer.

Camila tells Ric not to sign if it means he’ll go back to pirating. He tells her he knows what he’s doing, but she says he could die at any moment. He says that could happen anywhere. Lis shows up looking for Ric, Camila leaves. He tells her she looks pretty, she says they are going to the wedding, oh and Santiago came twice to talk to Camila, didn’t she tell you? Obviously not.

The whole town comes out for the wedding. Manuela looks around, I’m sure for Ascanio. She and Alberto meet up with Sofia and family. Alberto sees Lis and comes right over. He compliments Lis, the ladies say they need to speak with him, later in his house. Manuela spots Ascanio finally and gives him a big smile. Santiago walks Ines down a red carpet, Ursula eyes him. Horrible bagpipes play. Everyone waves stalks of wheat. Ursula lusts after Santiago some more. Ines and Santiago arrive at the alter, with the priest, Vasco and Justo are there as well. The priest leads the way inside, Vasco tells Ines she looks pretty, like a doll.

Foreman tells Juancho to stop going into town and making trouble. Juancho says the guys need fun, Foreman says when he gives an order, that’s that. Juancho says a caravan is coming, are they going to attack it? Foreman says no, Juancho says he has gone soft like Ric. Foreman jumps all over him and looks like he’s going to slit his throat, but he just injures him. He tells him to get out in English and Spanish. He tells La Paisana something about keeping them in line until El Chino arrives. Foreman leaves, Juancho comes back in and yells at her, she punches him. He wants to make trouble, but she pulls her gun on him and tells him to get out.

The wedding is apparently over, the couple comes out and actually looks happy. Everyone else is too. Ric congratulates them. Alberto asks Jorge if he’s going to the reception, Jorge says no, he has done his duty already. Manuela eyes Ascanio, Ursula eyes Santiago, then congratulates Vasco and Ines. Mario and Ric discuss Fran and Lis talking to Alberto, they know something is up. Ursula says hi to Santiago, who says he hopes she comes to the party. She says yes of course. Vasco overhears and isn’t thrilled, of course. He ended up with a better woman, even if she isn’t rich. Justo greets Jorge, who immediately says he has nothing against Justo, he took the concessions for economic reason. Justo is forced to say he understands. He invites Jorge to the party, Jorge says he can’t. He wants to know if Camila told him the good news, that she bought the mill. He is happy, but can’t believe she did it. He says god bless her.

Manuela wants to go to the party, Alberto says no, it’s full of low class people. She says Sofia and Ursula are going, he says Sofia likes slumming and Ursula is a whore. Manuela is scandalized. I guess she’s not going to the party. Alberto rings the bell at his house to be let in, then he just sends Manuela inside and says he’ll be in later.

Everyone dances and has fun at the wedding, Vasco seems to have decided that this will be ok for him, he’s enjoying himself. Ursula sits between Santiago and Ofelia. Justo sits with his not girlfriend Sofia. GRita shoots Santiago dirty looks for talking to Ursula.

Monday: Sofia tells Jorge that Ursula has found a new toy, Santiago. Jorge says to just tell her she’s prohibited. Sofia says she has a better idea, go public with the news that Santiago is Jorge’s son! Also, Santiago is still in love with Camila and argues some more with GRita about it.

Excellent recap. Yes I was happy to see shirtless Ric and those abs. Wow. Since Camila threw caution to the wind and impulsively bought back the mill Ric knows this will only mean more trouble if that ED letter resurfaces. Camila may not have wanted Ric to go back to pirating but she should've thought of that after she nearly spent up all the money. Well Monday looks to be another good episode from the previews with the green eyed monster in abundance LOL. Ric certainly didn't like seeing Camila and Santi talking again and the Rita/Santi argument looked pretty intense. Love this show.

Thanks, Ferro. Here is the difference between this show and Amor Real : In Amor Real , we would have seen RicRicRic shirtless...in the bathtub . In that show, we got to see just about everyone in the tub. Those people had really high hygenic standards. [By the way, I thought that I had never seen Tia Fran before, but she was the mother superior who gave Manuel refuge after he kidnapped Matilde.] Whoa,,,and that bit about the brooch...Santiago might just as well have taken that pin and actually stuck GRita with it...''Well, I was going to give it to CAMILA...ouch. '' CamilaCamilaCamila. That big old pot of sibling rivalry is about to boil over. Manuela is like Cinderella with a very mean father. However, you have to admit that Lafont was saying the truth about Ursula. I have a feeling that Gonzalo is not long for this world, but who was he referring to when he warned our 2 boys that someone else knows what's going on??? It looks like El Chino is going to dragged into this mess. Will that be good or bad for Ric???? They seemed pretty friendly when they were together at the beginning, so maybe it will be a good thing for Ric if they are buds and he is brought into the mix. Juancho is getting pretty cocky. I especially enjoy watching La Paisano beat on him. And how about that Vasco. He seems to have accepted the marriage and was partying down...dancing, wearing the little flower crown. Can't wait for Monday's episode.

Terrific recap! I wonder who Gonzo's told about his being in on the caravan assaults. Hmmmm. --Guess this visit to San Fernando will allow Ursula to finally meet Foreman and stop a possible incestuous indiscretion.....

Camila is way too naive and it's starting to drive me up a wall, but then there'd be no suspense and intrigue if she played it by the book like Ric says. On the other hand, I didn't get the connection between Ric's agreeing to sign that contract for the mill and Ascanio saying it would be out of pride. One word from Ric and Cami would have given in, I figured......

p.s. About the Disney music playing before the scenes of amor....A friend of mine went on a Disney cruise a few years ago . She told us that when meals were ready to be served , they played ''When You Wish upon a Star'' over the loudspeakers and no matter where they were or what they were doing, people would head zombielike to the dining room. She said that it was freaky. Maybe it's the same thing here...Ric hears that Disney tune and he is programmed for amor. He's like a perfect Stepford husband.

Someone who has Melinama's e-mail address, would you please ask her to e-mail me? paulah88@hotmail.com . I want to talk to her about possibly recapping a future novela. Thanks!

Terrific recap. I missed the last 15 minutes of the show chasing our crazy escaped jack russell around the neighborhood, but I took comfort knowing that this recap would fill me in.

Boy, Don Jorge was really slower than slow-- like he forgot the story somwehere along. Must be the jones he has for Camilla wiped out the memory banks.

But one question to Pirate Babe -- Do we really even know how much of the fortune Camila's spent? Wasn't she the one with the never ending treasure chest?

I thought Ric killed with shark eyes. That seemed scary.
V.V.

Thanks Ferro, I too appreciated the quick kill Ric gave Lazaro. No need for words there.

Our gal Cami wants everything her way, eh? Let's suspend reality--no pirating, no ed letter, no fiscal responsibility. Cuzzin dreaded lucy cash, you're too kind. Cami isn't naive, she's self-focused and not too bright. (IMO) :}

Cami would've been smart if she had told Ric that she spoke to Santi at the house. News like that always sounds bad (even if it's not bad) coming from someone else. If she has nothing to hide, then just be upfront with it. She knows the situation and how it 'looks' to others, especially Ric.

Gosh now I know why I need to see Amor Real...
jb-Iron Jack Cash

About Amor Real...I was watching it this afternoon. The show is condensed into about 6 hours with most of the major scenes on one 2sided dvd. The second 2sided dvd has some very interesting stuff--including several trailers for the show, an award ceremony for the people who worked behind the scenes, some amusing bloopers , and a tv special about the making of this telenovela. I really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes stuff. You could tell why Carla Estrada's team has been so successful...lots of team effort and pride ,and Carla seems to give credit to everyone involved for the success of her projects.

Mad Polly/aka paula h. --I sent your email address and message on to Melinama just in case to make sure she looks for your post here.
=========
FYI Timoteo's Fortuna:

Somebody at Telenovela-World figures the fortune to have been close to $40 million and that means Bernabe got one hell of a chunk of it!!

I know Cami is supposed to be a kind and selfless soul and therefore to be eventually rewarded by the Virgencita for it, but this is ridiculous. When she says the money means nothing compared to getting the mill back for her father, and then has the nerve to tell Ric she does not want him going back into the pirate biz to recoup his losses and to ensure her a financial backstop, jb-cuzzin Iron Jack, then "self-focused and not too bright" is a very good way of putting it. I'd go so far as to say darned ditzy and short-sighted. How can she lose sight of the fact that she goes to debtor's prison or back into slavery, but her best friends all go back into slavery right along with her!!!!!!! That is an example of unforgiveable hubris if ever there was one.

Well said Jardinera!

What a fine recap, Ferro. Thanks for all the hard work. Some of the current story line is so frustrating with Camila's sudden silliness. But Foreman's comin' to town and I'm glad. Not only is he fun to watch, even Jorge thinks he will be more interesting than the local jokers, err gentry as they like to think of themselves. I like that we have had two well deserved murders done with little melodrama but some fine cuttin', quick and to the point. Vasco and Rita were pretty cute in their flowery crowns, a moment of happiness for some of the family. Grita didn't get to say nasty things, just give spiteful looks. So with a great "killin' cause someone needed killin'and the fine Paisana and Foreman scene and Ricricric shirtless, it wasn't a bad Friday at all. I think Sofia is in charge of next week's fireworks. That'll be fun to look forward to.

As usual, I enjoyed the recap as much as the episode. I agree with the comments about Cami ("self-focused and not too bright" and darned ditzy and short-sighted.) I was hoping that Ric would give her holy hell. The fact that so many people were against it makes me think that there's gonna be more problems to come associated with the purchase.

I will probably get in trouble for trying to defend Camila, but I think she is in denial more than anything else. She kept insisting to Ric that the letter won't be found. I think she is working under that illusion, not that she doesn't care about the others.

That said, she is still an idiot for not listening to everyone :-)

I'm grateful to the recap of Friday's episode cuz I was in a fog of prescription meds that evening. I watched it but didn't quite remember it (lol). But the meds are working & I'm feeling tons better.

I hope it is revealed sometime why Le Bouffant is so mean to Manuela. I feel so sorry for her.

Rita is starting to remind me of Jan Brady (Camila Camila Camila...lol).

FYI: for those out there who are fans of old classic movies, set your DVR's/TiVos to Turner Classic Movies cuz on Monday 2/18 @ 7:00 CST "Gone With The Wind" is on & on Wednesday 2/20 @ 7:00 CST "Some Like It Hot" (my personal fav) is on.

Hey, Ferro, as always you’ve cranked out a fabulous recap. “LaFont discovers that his love letters with John Foreman are missing. (ok not love letters, that was a joke)” It’s always good to clarify for those who would take you seriously. ;-) Thanks!

“I have to say Ric just killing him instantly was awesome. No dragged out James Bond ten opportunities to escape BS, just “I’ve been looking for you to kill you, now I’m here, I’m going to kill you” and then he did.” You echo the fervent thoughts of many of us here. Quick and dirty, get it done. Yaaaaaaay, Ric! Nice way to make a point and get a job done that you planned to do anyway. Kill two birds with one stone and make it stick, that’s what I always say. Now both of the dudes who betrayed our Claudio are gone. Time for Claudio to come back.

“Foreman suggests El Chino as a potential leader for the gang. Hernan says El Chino might be a little too good for these guys.” Sounds like El Chino is coming back to us. For the record, folks, the guy’s name is Yoshio in real life and that’s Japanese, not Chinese.

“She and GRita need to leave and form their own little place, Jealous Island or something.” LOL!

“I guess a lot of you love these scenes, they make me want to fast forward.” What is it, Ferro? That cap she wears over her hair?

Ines was just too cute for words in her wedding outfit. Vasco actually seemed like a real human being for a few minutes.

Susanlynn/Mad Bess, you are too, too funny! Do your students ever stop laughing long enough to take notes?

V. V. That’ll teach you to buy a Jack Russell. Everyone knows they’re way smarter than us humans. ;-)

Folks, some of you have talked about Ric and Camila getting married way too early and getting separated somehow. Here's what I picture--the ED letter surfaces, with Lis getting nothing, the church getting all, Cami becoming a servant again or going to jail, whatever, and Ric working his okole off to get the fortune back and Cami off the hook. Meanwhile, they get separated. Could happen--after all, they did get married too quickly.

Paula TX82:
Two fine classics, worthy of mention.

So Bouffy has a skeleton in his closet perhaps? Could be his mother was a drunken child abuser? Or maybe Daddy was from a long line of abusers and Mommy ran off and abandoned him to his fate? Any other possible scenarios out there to consider which might have led to his becoming a father in name only?

Jardinera/Cousin dreaded lucy cash--his wife fooled around with someone else and he's not sure Manuela is his? His wife fooled around and left him with no heir, only a baby girl? How about he's just a royal jerk?

Jeanne

Jardinera, thank you for passing the word to M, and TY for posting it here so 10 other people don't also tell her.

LaFont's treatment of Manuela - I propose she's one of Jorge's many daughters around town. Deep down LaFont despises Jorge, but he doesn't dare show it; he doesn't even dare admit it to himself. So instead he projects that hatred onto Manuela, the child of Jorge whom he hates, and his wife who disgraced him by her consensual affair with Jorge.

I guess they weren’t at a party, they were just at the whorehouse. So I’m sure they smell great, and here Alberto and Jorge keep on eating right in front of them. I suppose the array of odors on people back then were more than we could ever imagine and to them it was normal.

ROFL!! Ferro, you are freakin' hilarious.

GRita is sho'nuff GRating on my last nerve. We have another poor little bambino being saddled with a maldita for a mom. But after enduring DUELO, I am simply in heaven. Heh-heh.

Dang! I need a pirate name.

Thanks Ferro for the great recap!.

Things are really setting themselves up for a catastrophe in San Fernando. I really enjoyed Santiago sticking it to grrRita about the brooch. We just have to hope that Ric can get the goods on the bad guys in time, but, this being a telenovela, it ain't gonna happen that way.

This is a little off-topic, but while browsing the esmas website, I noticed that Carla Estrada was a victim of the same busload of red hair dye that afflicted Camila back in the early episodes. Here's the link (also some cute cast pictures; no spoilers). http://www.esmas.com/espectaculos/galerias/7616/?id=9

SPOILER ALERT! About the esmas link I gave above: Don't go prowling around the other fotogalerías especially the one featuring Camila if you want to avoid spoilers. The one about the wedding is cool though.

Since Ric is signing everything these days with his illegal name, will Ric and Cami's wedding be null and void along with Vasco's wedding (he and Cami were witnesses), and the sale of the mill? I'm thinking all these contracts can be revoked by Jorge when the news gets out.

Jeanne~~~My students with a sense of humor think I'm funny; my students without a sense of humor probably think I'm crazy. Luckily, most people have a sense of humor ,and we have a good time. It seems that when I see my students relax and laugh, I know that they are learning, especially in speaking/listening classes. I've had some students who really crack me up....humor has no borders. Re:Jack Russell Terriers : Oscar, my Dominican student who is a really big guy and the only person who can figure out what I'm saying when I repeat words I've heard on the telenovelas but can't find in the dictionary because I'm misspelling them, had a Jack Russell. He told me that he'd take him running for miles , and when they got back home , Oscar was exhausted but his dog still had enough energy to chew up his sofa. Oscar is the student who brought me wine from Japan packaged to look like a carton of milk.[It was delicious !!!] I call him Primo. He is a hoot. I meet a wide range of people in my job, but I'm always heartened by the fact that most people are really great. As for Camila, I have to agree with Mario...she has Ric wrapped around her little finger which is going to mean that he is going to be trying tp please her and therefore he is not always going to be using his head ....and thus...^^^look up^^^.....here come the ANVILS .

Ferro: Great recap as usual. I fell asleep watching Friday's episode, and so I missed the love scene and Ric's acceptance of Camila's purchase of the mill. Oh, well, too bad.

Anyway, Mad Polly, you just might be right about LaFont/Jorge/Manuela. It's obvious LaFont has contempt for Jorge. But, maybe, the real bad guy is going to be Foreman.

From lower Ala

Yeah I'm excited to have Foreman in town, that should really shake things up. I got a bit worried this past week, it seemed like things were perhaps going to stall a bit (unless the news of Santiago's parentage came out), but with Foreman showing up so quickly we should be in for some more good episodes. And when will Claudio come back?

Mad Polly/PaulaH, that's a fabulous scenario. Good thinking!

Jeanne

Susanlynn, I know what you mean about the students with a sense of humor. I have the same situation, often. Have to be careful how I talk to some staff who don't have a sense of humor.

Oscar sounds like my kind of student.

Jeanne

Great recap! You could have a point there, Mad Polly...La Poof could hate Manuela because she may not really be his. But, maybe he's just a big bully anyway.

Ferro, you are so funny about wanting to fast forward the romantic bits.

I agree with Jardinera that when Foreman shows up, maybe he will be a distraction for Ursula and she will finally leave Saintly alone.

Can't wait to see if any anvils fall tonight!

LaFont treats Manuela with the same cruelty and disdain with which Tim treated Lis, and it's likely for the same reason. She is not the prized male heir he would have wanted -- just a nuisance to be dispensed with through an ASAP marriage. I get the sense Sofia is going to turn her Good Fairy magic wand on Manuela and Ascanio in an effort to help them get together. Maybe she'll try to make Ascanio somehow more acceptable to LaFont.
Hey, I think I could almost put up with a dad like that if I could end up with dreamboat Ascanio.

I have a question about Claudio. I thought Ric sent him to La Iguana for safekeeping. But there were no signs of him when Ric was there. Also, if Ric knew that Lazaro was there, he would not have sent him to that location. So where is he??

I thought Ric sent him to the beach where Pablo used to hang out to keep him safe. At this point I have no idea where he is.

Last week I was wishing we could at least get a glimpse of Claudio, espcially since he left under such dramatic circumstances. We've also not heard anything about his family fortune and property. Wasn't Jorge going to petition the Crown to let him get possession of it?

Folks seem to have forgotten about Claudio. [By the way, I caught a glimpse of him when I watched the condensed version of Amor Real last night. He was at the party to launch the showing of Amor Real in Mexico ---a couple years younger and with short hair but the same sweet smile.] I wonder if Foreman coming to town will mean trouble for Ric. He does not need more trouble. I've been thinking how small the families are on telenovelas. Sofia and Jorge have 1 daughter, likewise Lafont. Ric is an only child, likewise Lis. Ofelia has 2 children and Justo has 3. Then , I thought about it some more and realized that Fernando was an only child in all 3 of historical telenovelas he's starred in. I realise that a lot of children died young in the past [my own maternal grandmother lost 2 children before they were 2.] Still it seems odd that telenovela families are so small, usually only 1, 2, or 3 kids...considering birth control methods were sketchy to say the least.

Ferro, thanks for the great recap. I really liked the suggestion for Jealous Island as a new residence for Lis and gRita. Clotilde(?), the trouble-making servant could be the staff and Ursula could drop in from time to time. Tia Fran might as well go along, too.
People better quit telling Justo all these news flashes he isn't prepared for. He'll have another stroke. He did seem happy about the mill, though.
I could live with the bagpipes, but Vasco's flower crown just cracked me up.

The porno twins.. I mean Chip n Dale.. I mean the twin blacksmiths.. sorry, I forget their names, really clean up well. They looked very handsome and refined in their rich red coats at Vasco/Ines's wedding. Many fine looking males there minus La Bouffant, of course.

Just FYI Mad Polly, Melinama's email address is at the bottom of the pink sidebar to the left, just over Jaime Camil's face.

I like the way the twins always dress exactly alike. They remind me of the handsome twins in their red waistcoats at the very beginning of Gone with the Wind. They are vying for Scarlett's attention. Does anyone know adult twins who actually dress alike??? I have friends who are identical twins. David and Dennis do not dress alike , but they told me that they often pick out the same items [shoes, for example] when they shop separately. I guess that they are on some cosmic wavelength.

I would think it'd be a lot more efficient for twins to buy only one of each outfit. :)

(Cost-efficient, I mean.)

madbess/susanlynn...

My identical twin cousins have gone out of their way to be as different as night and day, from the time we were kids. It wasn't hard for them to accomplish either, what with the HUGE difference in their personalities. Angelic twin, evil twin. Good cop, bad cop. That kind of thing. Never had a problem telling them apart.

I really like our bookend blacksmiths!

I knew a pair of middle-aged twin sisters who were still dressing and styling their hair exactly alike. Seemed a sad thing to me.
I have twin daughters, who received some identical outfits as gifts. Other than that, I never dressed them alike. (They aren't identical.) I would get them the same outfit, but in different colors, or different outfits in the same color, or just similar outfits, but not alike. Especially for play clothes, you just can't keep up with the changes. I also made a point of putting them in different classrooms in school. They were in different home rooms but the same math class in 5th grade and the math teacher didnt' even know they were sisters, let alone twins, until halfway through the year.

Stephe, GREAT pirate name!

Jeanne

Foreman is at the top of the dog pile becuase he has such bitchen hair.

I think that La Bouffe is jealous of Foreman's hair. He knows that all the girls will be chasin' Foreman.

except for Lis. But she might ask him if she can touch it. then she too will know that he's got maximum cool surfer girl - guy hair. He would have been way popular in my high school.

sigh. Look out Ric.

Thanks, Jeanne. :)

I was really diggin' yours (looks like you're "related" to some other pirates in here? LOL), so I tried my best!
