Pasión de Gavilanes- Mon. 5-19, Óscar and Franco looks for jobs to support their women and Jimena learns to bake

It was amazing that there weren't any wardrobe malfunctions when Rosario and Pepita were having their cat fight!

That's great! Feonando and Norma are both making themselves miserable to keep Gabriela from suffering.

The scenes with Jimena and Juan in the bakery were so cute.

I think Armando is realizing that it would have been a big waste of money even if his hired goons had kidnapped and killed Franco. He just has to wait and Rosario will get tired of his very irritating behavior and the fact that he doesn't have any money.

It was funny when Leandro agreed to give Óscar a job because he was wearing Jimena's perfume. Bad idea for him to work there though.

Looks like an exciting episode tomorrow.

Howdy =)

I wouldn't be surprised if Leandro spills the beans to Gabi about what Jimena's up to.

Jean, I also thought Jimena's scenes at the bakery were great. About time that girl started doing something useful. She may straighten up that Oscar yet!

Things don't bode well for Rosario with her new boss. Franco will get a respite from Armando trying to kill him, but poor Rosario's not gonna get a break from a louse trying to get her into bed.

Boy does Sarita still have her knickers in a bunch. I hope someone puts her in her place soon!

How did Rosario end up with the wrong Reyes brother? She and Oscar are really two peas in a pod.

Margarita: I left a comment under yesterday's post.

Today Quintina does one of her famous "open mouth, insert foot" maneuvers when she blurted out that Oscar & Jimena would move into the bedroom of the Reyes Sister. I like her, but she's a bit of a boba sometimes.

Ditto goes for Pepita Ronderos, Rosario's rival for Armando. While she's a good, colorful character, she can't sing her way out of a wet paper bag. PLEASE don't have her trot out any more tunes!

And Sarah: Good Lord, woman; you're frightening me. Ease up!!!

Is this going to turn out to be "spoilers" for the 'other' novela with the same plot?

Hi Melinama: I don't think so. I've been reading the Fuego recaps and its plot has already deviated significantly from that of PdG. For example, Feonando is not the totally evil guy he is on Fuego. Obviously, the names of the characters are the same (except for Norma/Sofía) and it is pretty obvious already which brother is going to end up with which sister but how they get there seems to be quite different.

Howdy Juanchas!

Marie Celeste, thanks for your answers/comments to my questions. I noticed the "spoiler," but they had already given that part away in the previews, so we already knew it was happening. I alas gave myself a spoiler when reading the Wikipedia entry of this TN and will warn other viewers not to read it for at least a couple of weeks. I suspect we'll see it very soon though, and will leave it at that.

Melinama, I see Fuego taking a very different path (Jimena dating Oscar from the get go for starters, and the fact that none of the brothers are interested in Sarita in PdG) and it looks like they're setting up the priest as the one who finally helps Sofia escape from Feonando's clutches - provided the Vatican lets him. Although its set in modern times, it will probably take them months to get an answer as Catholics take their sweet time making decisions (I'm Catholic too so I figure I can say it without offending). Either way, I don't think this will be a spoiler and would hope that those who don't want one to reveal stuff for the other will not read the comments on PdG. Maybe it's just a matter of keeping an eye on the titles for each episode. The other name changes I've caught are: the priest (Epifanio in PdG, Tadeo in FelS), grampa (Martin vs Agustin in FelS) the hacienda itself (San Isidro in vs San Agustin) and the bar (Alcala vs Mal Querido). Not sure if the name is the same, but the gal in charge of Rosario's wardrobe is totally different in both as is the impact of the Armando character.

Tomorrow's previews don't bode well for the lovebirds. Hopefully the girls can muster up some forgiveness for the lies. Quintina's not the only one with a big mouth!!! Then again, the TN will last longer if the girls don't forgive the boys right away...

Debbie, you're absolutely right about Rosario getting the wrong brother. She and Oscar are equally ambitious, and Jimena might have taught Franco a thing or two about work ethics. Then again, I guess it will be easier for them to go forward if you have at least one ambitious one per couple.
