Pasión de Gavilanes, Wed., July 16,

Fernando two times Grabi on their honeymoon

"¡¿Querían guerra?! ¡Pues, guerra van a tener!" "You want war!? Then you will have war!"

Do we need a reason for another cute pic of Juan?

Melissa tries to help Leonidas find inner peace or at least loosen up a little

Juan and Norma

How about Feonando leaving his bride to gamble all night and go after hot chicks and then when Grabi is annoyed, a little rough sex and she's purring like a kitten. Yecch! If I have to hear 'Amor Prohibido' one more time, I'll scream.

Sarita saved Juan's life but he didn't seem very appreciative. Why doesn't he carry a gun in his truck like all the other guys who drive pickup trucks? Speaking of which, this may be the last we see of Juan's junker.

Melissa and Leonidas were very funny. How can Leonidas be so nice with Jimena and so stupid with his son. Although personally, I think Ruth could do better. Has Jimena actually agreed to go live with her husband! What an amazing idea.

It looks like the good times - performances by Pepita and nice family dinners - at the Elizondo hacienda are over tomorrow.

Oooh, great pictures, especially the ones with Juan!

It is nice that Jimena will finally move in with Oscar. It's about time!

I will be glad to see no more performances from Pepita. What upsets me the most is that Norma approves of it, glad that she is making Martin happy. I was thinking, what if it were Juan? How would she like it if Pepita poured booze for him and shoved her cleavage in his face? But since it is Martin, everybody thinks this behavior is lovable and cute.

Melissa drives me nuts because she drinks, too. I do agree that Ruth could probably do a little better in the boyfriend department, but we shall see how this works out.

You really think this is the last of the truck? Say it isn't so! I love that truck because it is so "Juan". Can you imagine riding in it with him? My heart flutters at the thought!

Okay, going to save the pictures now....

Thanks for the post and the pics Jean ;) ITA that Juan should have shown more gratitude towards his SIL for, you know, saving his life. I guess we're supposed to chuck it up to his Id needing to continue fighting the shooters. Bad Juan! LOL.

Also, lest I forget again, thanks to Marie Celeste for the 411 on Dana's singing. Someone commented on Guapos how they are amazed that Latin American actors seem to all (or just about all) be multi-talented. If you've seen James Lipton's "Inside the Actors Studio," we know that this is true of many American and British actors as well, it's just that they don't always get a chance to show off their other talents. Either way, I think it's great we get to see what each has to offer ;)

Thanks to our friend Anon (feel free to sign in the future, even if it's in the body of the message so we can give credit where credit is due!) for the info on Mario's hep (poor guy!). Today I definitely saw it wasn't him at the hospital.

I do think Leonidas has a very skewed view of love. However, in his conversations with Jimena, Melissa, and later with his wife, we are getting a sense of where this is coming from:
1 - "kids shouldn't get married too young, they should enjoy youth before getting tied down."
2 - "I wish someone had talked me out of getting carried away and starting a family..."
3 - Leo's wife - "I hate him!"
I think he married too young to the first girl that said yes and they've both regretted it ever since. I do fear we might be seeing the beginning of an affair between Leo and Melissa and that annoys me 'cause I actually like her! Hopefully I'm wrong and they just become good friends (or maybe he and the wife split up and THEN he starts dating Melissa).

Cindybin, I think Juan's truck may have had it's swansong. I was waiting for it explode (it looked like they hit the tank) and I suspect by the time they are done with it all the kings horses and all the king's men will be unable to get that puppy back together.

Poor Oscar is having the worse "Car-ma." First it's the beemer (I think the theory of it being checked by the cops is correct) and now his little sedan (he had it long enough to go to Santa Clara and to have it shot at). It was sweet of Franco to cheer him up by sending him to get a new car and maybe a chauffeur! It's a good thing he's like a kid who will get a great smile with just getting a new toy ;)

I thought it was Rosario that had done the shooting because of the trench coat and the line "the beginning of revenge" when Armando asked what movie she'd gone to see with Panchita, but I agree that there's no way she learned how to shoot that well all of a sudden. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one that hired the goons though. Otherwise, it would have to be Fernie.

Did anyone catch the promos for Doña Barbara? It looks like it might be fun ;) My guess is it will take the 9:00PM EST slot in place of Victoria.

Thanks for the photos, Jean. I think you captured my favorite moments from these episodes, especially the one of Juan & Norma. There's something so "knight in shining armor" about the way he does things, including the way he literally picks her up & embraces her all the time. Too cute.

We obviously won't be spared more of Fernando & Gabriela's tainted love, so here's keeping my fingers crossed that "Amor Prohibido" will at least have a short life span. Ick..

Someone on youtube commented that Fern's blonde floozy at the casino looked like Schwarzenegger after a sex-change. I didn't think she was all that attractive either, but I don't think I'd have been quite that mean!

I can't imagine Juan without his truck, but we'll see. It stands to reason that his beloved "mascota" was damaged beyond repair in the gunfire, but you never know with Juan. Love just might will out here... As for Juan being grateful to Sara for saving his life, I'd guess it was probably blind rage plus maybe a little bit of male ego that kept him from acknowledging his debt to her at the time. I was a little surprised, however, that he didn't say something when Norma gave props to Sara at dinner in front of the whole family. (Maybe his bruised male ego was still wincing.)

I too wonder where the whole thing with Melissa & Leonidas is going. I hope she's just trying to be friendly. However, I'm not sure if Leonidas (or his wife) will see that way... I'm also not that impressed with Antonio, and I'm ashamed to admit it, but I think he's just funny-looking. With that long, narrow face & nose and those close-set, clear, tiny eyes, there are moments every now & then that he reminds me of a baboon. Pobrecito. I guess not everyone can be a Reyes. ;-)

Jean, a filing note – I went back to check a previous comment & noticed that your entry for the July 8 & 9 episodes, “Two Kinds of Forbidden Love”, is only found by scrolling way to the bottom of the Caray main page. If you click on the “PdG Discussions” link in the left-hand column of the main page, it doesn’t come up in the list of previous entries. Is this because of a tagging issue? I imagine it will get bumped off the main page pretty soon, so it would be great to have it linked to the others in that list. And as always, thanks for giving us this place to dish to begin with. ;-)

Hi Marie Celeste: I hadn't tagged that post. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
