Querida Enemiga, Tuesday 7/8 - Gaspar rises from the dead and makes a cameo appearance as...a stripper!

Big thanks to JudyB for trading nights with me. Thanks Judy! I hope you don't mind that I got to recap on the night Gaspar made his guest appearance. He sure was cute in his little sheriff outfit and I didn't miss his overalls one bit.

On with the show...

We get to see a repeat of Vasco doing his verbal smack-down on grouchy granny. Dad gets some too, he should have protected his brother. Vasco announces he's going to stay with his estranged uncle and he throws his credit cards on the table in a brazen display of independence.

Bruno meets Diana and tells her that Zulema made him reflect, he doesn't want to abandon the baby. OUR baby, she says. Fine whatever but you're not part of the deal, he replies, he doesn't see himself married. She says she hopes he doesn't let the baby down like he has let her down. Bruno looks confused.

Jaime tries to get Vasco to stay but since he is as prejudiced and close-minded as Granny, not to mention super wimpy, Vasco runs upstairs in disgust.

Betina gets home after spending all day with daddy. She wonders why mom asked her to keep dad late into the afternoon. Paula thought bubbles that she'd love to see the faces on that pair of idiots.

A doorbell rings and Jaqui runs to the door. OH. MY. GAWD. Did you see who's at the door? None other than El Intocable, aka Rene Gomez, aka Gaspar from Duelo, the incredible hunk. He's got a cameo as a stripper! He plunks down his boom box, gyrates his fluid hips and removes his shirt (le pant le heave) in front of an unappreciative Jaqui. He even sings Happy Birthday. Dang, he is so fine. Where was I? Oh yeah, Jaqui pushes him away and falls to her knees, her face smack dab in his manly parts just as Dario enters. Umhum, and daddy ain't happy.

Jaime admits to Snortensia he couldn't convince Vasco to stay. He betrayed his brother and now he's lost his son. Snorty wails, "He's abandoned me, the person I love most in the world!" Not a very nice thing to say to one's son.

Dario is determined to ruin our fun. Does he grab a seat and tell Gaspar to go on with the show? Hell no. The wet blanket fights with Jaqui and Gaspar puts his cute little Sheriff shirt back on. Poor baby, he just wants to dance and get paid. Dario kicks out the bod beautiful and he and Jaqui glare at each other.

Diana cries to Zulema and wants to know why is it that she can't love someone who loves her back? Ah, the eternal question.

Dario may be dumb but he ain't stupid. He figures out that his obsessed ex is behind the stripper plot. (If Paula were really smart she would have just hired the stripper for herself instead of Jaqui. Talk about falling on one's sword!) Dario and Jaqui decide to stick it to Paula by making love not war.

Vasco leaves Evil Acres and tells his dad he can't be part of the plot to banish Tio Omar. Snortensia watches sadly from her little window.

Sara rubs lotion on her shapely gams as Snorty stalks in looking for the low man on the totem pole. She blames Sara for Vasco leaving, she must have told him about Omar because Vasco would rather live with Sara's mother and her kids! Sara feigns surprise, "I have siblings?" She tells granny not to worry, the only family she wants by her side is her abuela. Granny comments she'd love to hear Vasco say those words. Another left-handed compliment from the old bag.

Well well, turns out Rosy is sleeping in the kitchen's pantry. Señor Caballero the gentleman security guard discovers her and promises to bring her a blanket.

Maruja, alone at home, frets about where Rosy is spending the night.

Vasco and his bicycle surprise Zulema at Casa Contenta. He seeks asylum for a few days. He tells Zulema and Omar that he's not like his dad, he can't live like that.

In contrast, Snortensia cries over Vasco's picture..."It was all for you and you scorn me just like...like...Omar".

Next morning Valeria the babe doctor who works with dumb Alonso and evil Bruno kisses her little girl goodby and gets the stink eye from her blowsy blonde suegra. Odious Ickturo bounces downstairs and excitedly tells her he got some money and he's going to spend it on decorating his new business in a good part of town, hooray! Valeria, ever practical, tells him investing in decor sounds dumb to her. He suggests she to stick to her patients and leave business matters to him.

Snorty lolls in bed while the maid Mathilde arrives for her morning insult. Snorty perks up enough to tell Jaime that Sara has all her confidence, she is ambitious and prefers money over her own penniless schmuck parents. She threatens Jaime that if Omar ever finds out they are harboring his daughter he will denounce them, so Jaime had better keep his lip zipped.

The next scene is at Casa Contenta where nothing important is said (except an odd bit about Vasco surprising Julian in bed, uh, OK) but we get to see lots of yucking it up and arm-punching. Even Diana manages to force a smile.

Lorena shows up at Alonso's office with the requested cake. He wants to go with her to to find out the results of her test. How nice that this busy doctor can leave his practice in the middle of the day.

Valeria tells Bruno some interesting news, apparently he and Alonso are both competing to be the new head of the clinic (Jefe Medico - Chief of staff?) Bruno says it doesn't bother him to be competing against his friend, the clinic is the most important concern. He gets an evil look on his face. (It's a pretty sad clinic if those two dopes are the best they can do.)

Vasco and Diana arrive at work. She's impressed when he tells her his liberty is more important than grandma's money. Wow, he sure is different from her bad boyfriend who was ashamed of her because she lives in La Colonia.

Short scene with Lorena and Zulema highlighting Zulema's exercise and she still hasn't lost a pound. Zulema tells Lorena she's sure she did well on the exam.

Jaime recalls the angry words of Vasco and the insulting words of Snorty. He goes for a soda, sees Maruja, and drops the soda on his foot. Does he have a thing for her or is he just distracted? Dude, you should seriously go for the cook and leave Lipo Lass to her boy toy.

Sara sees the exam results, she is one spot higher than Lorena. Bitch. "I did it!" she yells. She sees Alonso and throws her arms around him. He is probably supposed to look muy pero muy impactado but he just looks confused.

Omar surprises his mom at work. Cara impactada from Snortensia. He just wanted to let her know that Vasco is at their house. (What, he couldn't call or email?) She blames him for turning Vasco against her and calls Zulema a common crook. Omar declares that Vasco is a big boy and makes his own decisions.

Lorena arrives at school and Sara blurts out "Too bad you didn't pass, ha ha." Her joke seems to backfire as Lorena grabs her and screams "It's all your fault I lost the scholarship!!" She runs off before dense Alonso can stop her. Sara pouts, "Gosh, it was just a little joke." Alonso looks confused again.

Snorty and Omar argue about money. Jaime enters and is shocked to see his brother. Omar has had enough of his superficial family and he leaves. Jaime follows him outside and Omar comments that Jaime seems very sad to him.

The head Doctora (current chief of staff on her way out?) asks Bruno where Alonso is. Bruno tries to twist facts to make it appear that Alonso is neglecting his work to be with his girlfriend. Predictable jerk.

Ickturo shows up at Barbara's room. He needs more money. She needs more loving. Guess who gets their way?

Maruja and Greta arrive at Paula's. Maruja tries to get Greta to call Rosy's cell but no answer. OK, so now we know she really is worried. They scold Paula for using Betina as a spy. Paula justifies her behavior, she's going to stop those two from marrying!

Betina is at Dario and Jaqui's apartment. Jaqui sends Dario off to get pizza so she and Betina can have a woman to woman talk. Jaqui sucks up to Betina and gets her to admit that Paula arranged the stripper. She says Betina has a place in their home (lie!) and that when Betina helps her mother it hurts her father. That poor kid is going to be so screwed up.

Sad Lorena gets home and Maruja tells her Alonso hasn't stopped calling, and guess what, you really did pass the exam! Just then Alonso and Sara arrive. Sara is all "Why did you run away like that? It was just a joke." (This show and their sadistic jokes.) Lorena snaps back that Sara knows why! Clueless Alonso tries to fix things by suggesting they go out to eat and Lorena jealously suggests that he and Sara go out since they seem to be getting along so well. Sara turns her head and smirks, her diabolical plot is working perfectly.

After the commercial Alonso tells Lorena that maybe they should celebrate another time when she's in a better mood. She says "and you better not move." What? Maybe she means he'd better not follow Sara, I'm not sure.

Speaking of which, Sara sucks up to Snorty by bringing her some tea and telling her she passed her exam. Snorty says there's nothing worse than being disappointed by one in whom you have placed all your hopes. But all is not lost, she has Sara. We know that all Snortensia's affections come with a hint of a threat. She says that Sara had better not deceiver her...ever!! Sara mutters that the old witch will fall one day. She gets a surprise call from Chalo which makes her mad. He's not to call her there! (He called her call phone, how could he know where she is?)

Rosy calls Lorena and tells her where she's staying. She wonders if Maruja has been worried about her, but she doesn't seem cncerned when Lorena says Maruja hasn't mentioned it, probably because she has a hot date with Julian.

Betina arrives home and is snotty to Paula.

Rosy and Julian snuggle in some bar. He thinks it's too bad she and Maruja are fighting. She thinks it's too bad they got caught with their hands in the masa. Julian pisses Rosy off by eyeballing some chick holding a Pomeranian. He tells her he loves only her, wanna get a hotel room? Horny Julian has a little bit to learn about romance.

Omar comes home to find Zulema and Diana crying. Diana ugly-cries that she's pregnant, Bruno will recognize the baby but he doesn't want to marry her. Dad blows a gasket and spouts a bunch about morals, yada yada. Diana asks, does he really want her to marry someone who doesn't love her? Dad calms down and says OK, the baby will want for nothing. Some wacky orchestral music plays, it sounds kind of like Conan the Barbarian. They all weep and Omar says the baby will have a lot of love. The music reaches a crescendo as Vasco enters, "You can count on me too." Man, does this guy have a knack for sticking it to grandma or what?

Rosy and Julian are in the hotel room dry humping. He's optimistic. She's thirsty and thinks they need to take a shower. Somehow she gets him to disrobe and head for the shower. She eyes him lasciviously but gets to work. She quickly gathers his clothes and throws them out the window, then she makes her escape. He comes out and looks out the window in time to see her gathering up his clothes. (Why didn't she just carry them out? Maybe she threw them out then decided to make it harder for him, eh?) She yells up at him "Next time don't flirt in front of my face!" She laughs and jumps in one of the magical taxis that appears out of nowhere. I think Rosy just became my favorite character.

Vasco and Diana enjoy an evening stroll. She thanks him for his friendship. She was afraid how her parents would take the news, now she just has to tell Julian. Speaking of the king of Rome, Julian, wet and clad only in his hotel towel, which is a good look for him by the way, scrambles out of the taxi and asks Vasco to pay. Rosy stole his clothes and he had to leave his watch to pay for the towel! Needless to say Vasco and Diana are highly amused.

Elsewhere, Chalo prepares his little love nest in a cheap hotel room. Sara arrives and is angry, if granny catches her she's doomed! "Nice clothes," remarks Chalo. He's tired of being poor and not getting nookie any more. He tells her it's time to chip in or he'll reveal everything he knows.

Afanador/ora = Crook, petty thief
Despreciar = To scorn
Lombriz = Worm
Mocharse = To chip in, to go halves
Muertos de hambre = Penniless schucks (this phrase is an old favorite, but worth repeating)

Thanks for all the awesome snark Sylvia ;)

I also love Rosy, and Greta is a close second. So we're up to three possible suitors for Maruja! My money's on the chef (figuratively, 'cause I tend to always lose on my ponies).

What does it say about me that one of my biggest concerns is that our poor stripper dude never got paid? Here he gets the call, schleps all the way to Jaqui's, she's rude, Dario gets all pissy and you know Paula ain't footing that bill!

Shoot...I only saw part of this and missed Gaspar's appearance. However I recorded it and will be SURE to go back and watch now that you've put me on red alert, partner.

I'm enjoying the recaps more than the show. I hate seeing mean people hurt and humiliate innocents. On the other hand, Alonso seems so clueless it's hard to feel sorry for him. Little Lorena still has my sympathy

Love your wry take on things...especially "Matilde arrives for her daily insult". There is a lot of servant bashing (figurative and literal) going on in these telenovelas. Having worked for a while as a nanny in Paris I can tell you it's not unreal...those folks can be very nasty and dismissive.

Glad you put "mocharse" in the vocabulary notes. I had to look it up but I love that verb. Sounds like one person is trying to "mooch" off the other. Great great word and great recap.

Thanks, Sylvia . When I saw our sweet Intocable in his sheriff's costume, I thought of you. My next thought was : Arrest me, Officer. It was pretty cruel that we did not have the chance to see his complete act. Even though he did not fare so well on ''Bailando'', it would have been nice to see him dance a little more and maybe remove ......but I digress. I am not feeling it for any of these folks. Alone-so is just sad...like Pablo Montero [who by the way seems to really be improving in the emoting department now that he's in Fuego with jovial Jorge and energetic Eduardo] , Alonso ALWAYS looks confused...and a little s-l-o-w. That's his one look....the lost look. Where am I/Who are you ?/Why am I here?/ Where was I going?/How did I get here? Sara looked familiar to me, but I couldn't place her. Ferro said that she was the sister of the main character [Diego ??]in Amar sin Limites. Her hair is shorter here, but she's still playing a nasty, selfish mujer. I was surprised to see both Sara and Granny Hor without makeup last night. Yikes. Well, I'd better get to work. Later. ~~~Mad Buns Bess/Susanlynn, looking for her deputy vest and badge

Just to put your mind at ease :-D
- I think strippers are usually sent by an agency, and the client pays in advance. Otherwise they'd be getting ripped off all the time because there would be even more malicious-mischief-makers sending strippers as a joke.

And speaking of jokes, there are times when "I was just joking" isn't an acceptable excuse. Especially if you weren't joking. Yet why do I suspect that Lorena will forgive Sara anyway?

I love Rosy. :)

Good morning cowgirls, yeehaw I couldn't believe the luck when Intocable came dancing through the door. Mad Buns I was wondering if you were watching. Shoulda known you were right there with your lasso! I sure wish he'd show up more often, and it's not like our galán is acting him under the table or anything. Oh well, we'll take what we can get. Thanks Julie, you've definitely set my mind at ease. Now I can go to work with a clear head.

Judy, mocharse was a new word for me, and what a great tip for remembering it! Thanks again for agreeing to swap nights with me. You're numero uno.

Thanks, Sylvia, awesome recap!
Also, I was not familiar with the strpper guy - thank you for introduction.

Judy, I'm with you on "I'm enjoying the recaps more than the show. I hate seeing mean people hurt and humiliate innocents. "
Yeah, sometimes the humiliation on this show is going thru the roof and sometimes I'm on a brink of quitting watching - I hate to see people have been put down all the time. The "friendly" joke about non-admision was so cruel so may be now sweet Lorena will clear her mind about who is who.
The upcoming battle between Sara and her almost only "live witness" Chalo - he will be playing her with her own cards - will give back some satisfaction, but she is so evil so I doubt it.

Mad Buns Bess/Susanlynn, great description of Alonso : "Alonso ALWAYS looks confused...and a little s-l-o-w. That's his one look....the lost look. Where am I/Who are you ?/Why am I here?/ Where was I going?/How did I get here?" - So true!
Hey, may be he should've been a stripper as well on this show - may be for Paula! - Hmm, that the thought!

The hotel episode was incredible - hey, this couple is stealing the show!

In the bet for possible suitors for Maruja I'm with Margarita on the chef as well.

I like Rosy, too, and not just for her personality, but to me, she's the sexiest female on the show. I can't believe she's the same actress who played Acacia on Destilando Amor!

Here's a male evaluation of the female characters:
Lorena - super pretty, a little too goody-goody, but I like her
Sara - attractive, but not my type at all (and does she have more than that one dress (in 4 colors)?
Rosy - my favorite, fun loving, a little bad, and both her face and body are greatly appreciated by me
Diana - attractive, but too sad, also not my type
Zulema - I'll probably love her after she "loses" the weight. She's warm, fun and sexy
Jacqui - okay, I know she's terrible, and she's not really that pretty, but she has a great body, and I'm attracted to her in a weird way, especially when things go wrong for her (yes, I know, call the shrink!)
Barbara - Ick. Gross. And that voice! Ickturo can't really like her, it must be the money
Paula - I like her, too! Yes, she's a bit out of control, but she's pretty, and has a lot of energy!
Greta - beautiful, but we don't really know too much about her personality
Maruja - I like her, too. She's never worn anything revealing, but I can tell she could look really nice if she wanted to.

How would you ladies rate the guys?

Heeee, did not realize that was Gaspar. How fun!!!! He was actually my favorite character on that show. What a treat, would sure be great to see him around again! Might they have a recurring stripper character? Oh wait that's Fuego, never mind....

Totally cracking up at the dress. The one she wore today wasn't mine, but I bet it was from the same place and I have confidence that we will see mine again!!! I'm really turned off on the haircut now though. And yeah, what the heck with Alonslow? I know docs are serious and academic, but they definitely need to up the ante on his character....

Funny 'cap Sharkbait!!!

Fuego, great name "Alonslow" - I suggest that from now on to use it on this blog.
By the way, I found great website for actress who plays Sara : "www.carmenbecerra.net"
She is very beautiful.

Excellent recap Sylvia, I'm reminded again how nice it is to be on the same show as you again.

I did enjoy Sara putting lotion on her legs, it was nice for them to give me that after watching Gaspar strip. I laughed at how Gaspar wasn't satisfied with just stripping, he had to rub up on Jackie too.
I'm sure we'll get weeks and weeks of Bruno trying to undercut Alonso with the people who will decide who's going to get the top job.
I also didn't understand Lorena's "you better not move" comment, my wife's explanation was a clueless shrug. So it didn't make sense in either language.
Great call on Diana's ugly-crying when confessing her baby to Omar, that may be the first ugly cry of this novela. It took more than two weeks! Awesome!

Susanlynn - your comment about Alonso just triggered something for me - he must be the brother of Marcia the Unblinking Eye from La Fea! He has a permanent glassy eyed look and doesn't blink.

As required by law, I must add to Hombre's review of the women -

Lorena - agreed

Sara - also agreed, when she went to a blue jeans/casual look in Amar, she got 100 times hotter, that would work for here too.

Rosy - reminds me of a pixie, I can't seem to look at her like a woman, she's like a mythical creature. I do appreciate her willingness to jump in the sack though. Yes, I'm a pig, but I want to be honest here.

Diana - she was apparently a miss universe contestant a few years back. She alternates between looking totally hot and a bit manly, which is disturbing. She has the best hair on the show, by far. Her hair and her professional look most of the time really work for her.

Zulema - she'll always be Gloria the weirdo who gets busy with old man Chucho to me.

Jackie - completely turns me off. That hair. Bleah.

Barbara - something milfy sexy about her, but all the cheating and lying make her very unattractive. I know this should apply to Sara too, maybe it's the adultery part that turns me off so much.

Paula - she has a fivehead, but like I said before, it appears that she may have the best body of any woman on this show. Something besides complete frump clothing would be much appreciated here. Her complete insanity is a turnoff too.

Greta/La Otra - agreed.

Maruja - also agreed.

You missed one - Barbara from the clinic - totally hot, but some different hair than shellacked bangs would be good for her. Also something more revealing than a doctor's coat. Maybe she could dress like whoever that amazingly sexy woman from Yo Amo a Juan wore? Yeah... that would work.

Wow, Hombre de Misterio...interesting list. I can see we females have underestimated Jacqui's charms. However we all agree that Barbara is super-icky. I hate her voice most of all.

Vasco is looking better as time goes on, though I'm not crazy about the hair. It detracts from the interesting planes of his face.

Julian obviously has a nice body but looks so young...doesn't do much for me but I think Sylvia rightly noted a bath towel is his best look.

I thought the fellow who plays Alonso was gorgeous in the promo shots for a daytime soap...where he was tan, blonde and had a shirt open to the waist. In this show, his appeal is pretty much zero.

Bruno...who knows in that white jacket? Unpleasant personality.

Omar...I like his crinkly eyes.

Jaime...depressed and depressing.

Chalo...tacky...no appeal.

Bring back Jaime Camil or Fernando Colunga...and blow the rest out of the water!

I think I recall interpreting the "mejor no se mueve" as "don't bother" or "don't waste your time" as in, it's better you don't even move on that thought or action. I'd have to go back and watch it again, though, to pay more attention.

Apparently we all ( ladies especially) had a feast with Pasión - casi todos male characters were galanes. I wish we had at least 30% now. Oh, well, we have to wait for another Carla Estrada's tn for that. Or may be upcoming new version of "Pura sangre" with Fer will do it, who knows!

Jaime Camil was my first and I definitely wish that he was here instead of "Alonslow". By the way, Jaime Camil also just got to the final of "Mejor galán de las telenovelas" on todontv.com along with Fernando Colunga ( me amor!) and Sebastian Rulli. Now in the last round before the final William Levy is competing and he should win! So, even on this pool 3 out of 4 best galanes were present in Pasión!

Well, Judy , you missed one who might have some kind of appeal ( at least for me)- Dario - I kind of like him! Can't figure out his personality yet but at least he is good looking and showing some acting. And yes, he is moreno - I prefer mexican types!
As for Alonslow - I already mentioned before - great body - and nothing else!
Young kids - Vasco and Julian - look good and I like their performance, but they are too young for me! Chalo also belongs to this group.

Bruno - I have hope that he is going to change and become a good guy. And may be he will have some action so we can see him without doctor's coat and form the opinion. At this point - he got some points from me for his appearance, but not too many.

Who else - brothers Omar y Jaime - also out of my age range, no appeal to me.

Hey, the stripper guy - he was good! Probably has a great personality as well, too bad we are never going to find it out!

Yeah, I missed the Pasión!

Sylvia, you are a snarkmeister! Thanks for this terrific recap with delightful asides—and the perfect title!

I have to admit I played our beloved Gaspar over and over until I got my fix fixed. As quickly as I realized who it was, I was rewinding. Oh, Gaspar! We miss you! So, now we’ve seen Tonki/Tonky/Donkey in Yo Amo a Juan, Pablo in Fuego, and our dear Gaspar/Intocable in Enemiga. At least we’re two for three here.

“he throws his credit cards on the table in a brazen display of independence” LOL! What a sacrifice! Good plan, too, since Granny won’t be paying them anyway and now he won’t be tempted to use them. But, how will he buy that bed to put into Omar’s house?

“She says she hopes he doesn't let the baby down like he has let her down. Bruno looks confused.” LOL! Duuuuh. Bruno’s brain is ….MIA.

“gyrates his fluid hips and removes his shirt (le pant le heave) in front of an unappreciative Jaqui. He even sings Happy Birthday. Dang, he is so fine. Where was I?” ROTFLLLL!!!

“Oh yeah, Jaqui pushes him away and falls to her knees, her face smack dab in his manly parts just as Dario enters.” ROTFL! If she wore tennies she’d keep her balance better than she does in those heels.

“Snorty wails, "He's abandoned me, the person I love most in the world!" Not a very nice thing to say to one's son.” Yeah, and Jaime didn’t even raise an eyebrow.

“Dario is determined to ruin our fun. Does he grab a seat and tell Gaspar to go on with the show? Hell no.” ROTFLLLL!!! Holy moley are you on a roll, girlfriend! And we’re all with you here! (Except Ferro, we imagine).

“(If Paula were really smart she would have just hired the stripper for herself instead of Jaqui. Talk about falling on one's sword!)” ROTFL! (No, that’s Bruno who’s falling on his own sword).

“(It's a pretty sad clinic if those two dopes are the best they can do.)” LOL – at least Alonso is a nice dope.

“Dude, you should seriously go for the cook and leave Lipo Lass to her boy toy.” Another great one! Can you imagine Mami when she finds out that the second son is thinking about a cook? Snortensia will have a hissy.

“Sara is all "Why did you run away like that? It was just a joke." (This show and their sadistic jokes.)” Remember when Lorena told Alonso that she and Sara used to play in the woods? My theory is that Sara snuck off and pulled the wings off of butterflies for entertainment.

“"Next time don't flirt in front of my face!" She laughs and jumps in one of the magical taxis that appears out of nowhere. I think Rosy just became my favorite character.” LOL! That really was innovative on her part. Beats the heck out of throwing a tantrum, IMO. Very effective.

“Mad Buns Bess/Susanlynn, looking for her deputy vest and badge” Susanlynn, LOL!

“What a treat, would sure be great to see him around again! Might they have a recurring stripper character? Oh wait that's Fuego, never mind....” and “Alonslow” Kris – ROTFL!!

Hombre and Ferro, re: chick check—ROTFL!!!

My take on the guys? Omar and Vasco are the only two with any sense, and that makes them both attractive for me. Omar’s more my weight class (read that—age).

Jeanne

Hello again. It was nice to drop in here and check all the new comments after a looong day at work. [My new boss dropped in unexpectedly to observe me ....the semester just started on Monday , so this was only the third day of classes...thanks, D R. S. ]...Then , I had to walk up three flights of a building under reconstruction to find my file cabinets....not a great day....Where is Intocable when you really need him ??? It would have definitely cheered me up if the sheriff had been waiting for this tired cowgirl when she arrived home. Yahhhhoooo, where's my lasso. Anyway...I enjoyed reading Ferro's and Hombre's ''chick check'' [in the words of Jeanne !!! ] It's interesting to hear what different people find attractive. For me, when I meet someone I have an initial reaction to their appearance , but after I get to know people, they either become more or less attractive to me according to their personalities. A good sense of humor, intelligence, politeness, kindness, and a great smile always make people more attractive to me. I really am not attracted to the hombres in this show except for Julian...but he is very green...you can tell by the way he drops his pants at the spur of a moment. Of the women, I think that the prettiest are Lorena and the young doctor who is married to the guy cheating with Barbara . If I were an hombre, they would be my type. Paula H. and I were discussing shoulders on Fuego [we have very deep, philosophical debates on that forum] since we are both shoulder conisseurs...I am attracted to broad shoulders , big smiles, kind eyes, strong hands and arms....and the survey says....Who are Fernando, Eduardo, Marcelo....and Mike ???

Whoops I referred to the hot assistant from the clinic as Barbara at the end of my 'chick check' - I don't remember the character's actual name.

She's Valeria, Ferro. I love that name and she's a nice, nice person in addition to being pretty.

Jeanne

Hey Eve...thanks for reminding me about Dario. I really thought he was hot when he was in Duelo de Pasiones as the swarthy bandanna-wrapped foreman (later replaced by a weedy looking ugly guy...WHY!!!??) but he's not doing much for me in a suit and messing up his little daughter's life (hard for me to separate behavior from looks...although I secretly thought Cesar Luis was great-looking on Juan, even though he was evil...and no one else thought he was attractive at all!

Thanks for the recap Sylvia. I'm glad someone finally mentioned Valerie b/c I find her very striking (and would think our male viewers would think the same).

I have to agree with Susanlynn that after the first impression, personality makes more of an impact but there are exceptions. Omar (from LFMB, I loved him even though he was a dog for most of the tn), Rodrigo/Juan (men who are not bright really do nothing for me but every time Eduardo smiles I forget the lacking intelligence his characters often display). Thankfully Mr. Colunga usually plays smart men but with how he looks I'd like him anyway.

JudyB: I usually think personality is a MAJOR part of attractiveness, yet I secretly/not-so-secretly find Feonando on Fuego sorta smokin' hot, even though he is totally evil and skeezy besides. So I get what you're saying about Cesar Luis.

Hey Julia...thanks for that confession. Feonando has been so vilified...pretty gutsy to say you find him hot (or hawt as we love to say).

You're right...alas there's something dangerously seductive about the BAD GUY....maybe the secret hope that we could tame the monster and bring him to his knees.

And I guess lots of books are written on this subject...from the opposite point of view. I remember I first learned the word "cabrones" when I read the translated title of Why Do Men Love Bitches.

Actually we should ask Ferro and Hombre de Misterio this question. How about it guys?

Howdy all,

An observation regarding the Chalo character: he looks like a young version of my fellow Kentuckian, Larry Flynt.

Speakin' of which, JudyB, Emilia and I went back over the mountains a couple of weeks ago and got within a few miles of Forks of the Elkhorn. The developers haven't defiled it yet, but their eyes are on the area.

Re the attraction of the wicked ones of the opposite sex - it's not to be explained except by divorce lawyers. Will leave it at that and it's an observation, not an experience.

Mike~~~You're right Shallow Chalo does indeed look like a young Larry F. Shallow is a really oily character. Whenever I see him, I think of Smarmy Frankie , the Frog Prince of Destilando.

Yes! That's who Chalo reminds me of, Smarmy Frankie from Destilando! They both have that pasty sort of complexion. I have to admit that so far in QE there aren't any hawt dudes that knock my socks off, except for Intocable's guest appearance of course! Alonslow (love it!) is such a doof. Isn't there some other babe dude who's supposed to arrive and mix things up a bit? I sure wish he'd hurry up!

Judyb - I don't know about other men, but I HATE bitches. I know some men love all the energy or tension or whatever, but my absolute least favorite thing in the world is arguing so bitchy women hold no allure for me. Possibly physically, if they happen to be hot, but the bitchiness has nothing to do with it. That's why I was feeling such solidarity with Dario when he told off Jackie when he woke up on the couch that he left Paula because of the arguing "so think about that!" I was thinking hell yeah man! You tell her!
