El Cuerpo del Deseo Discussions
Ok, Mario Cimarro fans. Now that Pasión de Gavilanes is done, Telemundo will rerun Mario's second Telemundo novela: El Cuerpo del Deseo, the Body of Desire, starting Monday, September 15. It will be on for 2 hours/day at 12noon on the East Coast, local times may vary. Just as we did with PdG, we will be discussing ECDD here on CarayCaray. The novela is broadcast with English subtitles on CC3 on your TV. Here is some info about the novela and the cast list.

The story features Pedro José Donoso (Andrés García), a wealthy old man in love with a gorgeous younger woman, Isabel Arroyo (Lorena Rojas). He dies suddenly, but returns to Earth through transmigration: (the passing of a soul into another body after death), in the body of Salvador Cerinza (Mario Cimarro), a handsome (yet poor) family man. Pedro José searches for everything he lost, uncovering secrets, truths and deceptions. Ultimately, he must set things straight and save those who truly loved him.

Having peeked ahead a little at this show, there are things I'm already excited about & things that will be, let's say, "challenging"...
I'm very excited about Mario's role here. This combination of characters & the whole "transmigration" story element seems like a unique element for a telenovela, so I'm looking forward to it.
Martín Karpan is a new actor to me, and very intriguing in what little I've seen so far. The man has some seriously gorgeous eyes...
The character of Isabel's mother is going to be hard to take in large doses. The hair goes up on the back of my neck every time she opens her mouth. Maybe she dies early on? (please....)
In previews, I've seen Mario acting at playing the piano, and I'm sorry to say, not doing a very convincing job of it. Why is this one physical acting task one that actors frequently do badly? I play piano so perhaps I have no objectivity here, but it just seems to me like something that would be relatively easy to fake. I guess how much musical training (if any) an actor has would enter in. Could actually be a big factor, I suppose.

Whoa... I just noticed the "a/k/a" at the end of the description of Mario's character. There's obviously a spiritual angle to this telenovela, but I'm not so sure Jesus has any screen time!
I saw the Jesus, too and I'm not sure what that's all about. Seems a little sacrilegious for sure. Maybe it's the hair? ;-)
Where I live, the ECDD broadcast is almost coming to an end. We have around two weeks to go. I more or less watched regularly from little before midway so I'm looking forward to the inital discussions.
Marie Celeste, Isabel's mother is only there in the initial episodes so don't worry about having to see her the entire novela.
I've heard a lot about the love scenes in this novela. Too bad most of it is censored in the broadcast where I live.
