Guapos Wednesday 9/3/08 Hugo whines for a half hour

Guapsters, I'm afraid it's another do-it-yourself recap, as my mother has been taken to the hospital. Since so much of the episode was given over to Hugo's absurd "confession" to comatose Mili, not much to do.

Yes, Mili finally woke up.
Two things I loved: Val putting makeup on Mili--'cause they're now the sisterhood of the traveling pantsuits.

Also, Connie jumping forward with the pen for Mili to sign the divorce papers.

See y'all later.

I tagged you, so sorry about your mom, good luck!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I hope all is well.

Ditto for me, NinaK. Moms are a treasure we never want to lose. Sending you both hugs and good thoughts.

I hope your mom is doing better ... these things are always scary.

Some additions: Luci had a heart-to-heart with Hugo and told him she had to hit bottom to find her way to a new life and now he has to do the same thing. She reminds him that he never really had Mili to begin with, and he needs to get on with his life.

Rosario is worried that someone (Mili? Connie?) will recognize her so she comes up with a disguise that is basically just glasses. People’s hair changes over the years, so a wig isn’t much of a disguise.

Her assistant and Braulio make eyes at one another and swish off.

Sorry about your mother, Nina; I hope she's okay.

I like that Hugo went to the trouble of gift-wrapping the divorce papers.

Also liked Val getting all chatty with still-comatose Mili, and putting makeup on so she'd look nicer. That's our Val.

But my favorite moment was when the whole gang trotted into Mili's room and Rocky inadvertently slammed the door in Connie's face.

Other than that, not a lot going on this episode. Crying, remorse, she's awake, yay! And no amnesia, thank goodness. Mili was quite the saint, telling Val it was an accident, not Hugo's fault. I would not have been so kind.

Back from Spain and an all day Guapos tape catch up. Nina hope your mom is ok.

Some off topic stuff Guapos is showing in Spain and is one week behind us. It shows at 4 in the afternoon followed by Enemiga. The dreadful Fuego is on at 10 in the morning and reshown at 11 at night. Never noticed before what a bad actor Yanez is. Must have been the big screen or just that Fuego is so bad.

I also caught an episode of the Jamie Camil Tontas. Can't say where it was but probably far along in the show since he and Jacqueline Bracamontes are not together and she tore up some divorce papers in front of the annoying Valentine Lamus who is at his shrill worst in the episode I saw. Also our divine Jamie is playing the father of a teenage girl (or that's what it looked like). He had one of those endearing awful scenes of a parent talking about sex to a child. There is a boy in the show who seems to have AIDS/HIV and it looks like they want him to be a role model for other teens.

In Guapos those scenes with Mili and Luci at the clinic is a true rendition of the sets and tone of Tantos which looks like it is going to be another one of those endearing comedies. How Rosy O'Campo ever got such a blatant promotion in the middle of another novela beats me and I've never seen it in 15 years of novela watching. Tontos also has a huge cast and jamie and Agustin together again.

Once again Connie has the chance to man up and once again he takes the cowards way out. I still find it absolutely hilarious that he has no idea that both Mii and Al know the truth. All along I though Connie's old man had been a swine but who knew what kind of a rat bastard he was.

Is Flor really gone for good? After another Hugo personality switch will he find Karla? Will Karla learn the truth about her mother and finally become a decent human being? When is Ram going to get the hint and get out of town? Time for Damian and Andrea to get their payoff and is there an oilier character in the universe then Peralta?

Interesting stuff, Decie Girl! Thank you!

I just remembered another scene from last night. Hugo is asking Damien if he knows where Karla is and Damien tells him he heard she got a job in some dance joint. He comments that he’s happy for her, as she always wanted to get out of that uniform. And then we cut to Karla in a maid’s uniform for her pole dance. She is wailing to Macarena Ay, no! Ay no! Any costume but this one! Macarena tells her she has to wear it.

Sorry about your mom NinaK =( Hope she gets better.

I'm with Decie, Peralta might not be the most evil, but he's indeed the slimiest. I think Flo may be gone, and I'm guessing she left divorce papers behind 'cause Al was all set to get re-married right there and then!

The only addition I can think of is that Damian told Hugo that Karla's dancing at a "congal" (Conga place?). I didn't hear him say where, but this is a TN, therefore there is either only one, or it will be the first one that Hugo hits. Hugo's apparently decided he should help Karla after all.

Speaking off, I just got caught up with these and there was much discussion about Karla's dad and the dude who came to see Soco. If memory serves me right, he wasn't the guy that raped her, but he did help her out in some way an wanted money not to tell Karla and would disappear, which he did once Horacio coughed up some dough. Macarena couldn't remember whether Soco was raped or had a fling with a client, and I think if Mono had been around at the time, she would have probably mentioned something like "that's Amparo's kid, remember her? Do you remember if she was raped 'cause I forget..." or something along those lines. Instead she just mentioned she was the daughter of a friend who was so good that once she left the old club, they lost a bunch of clients who came only for her. Although he had no problems beating people up for money, I don't think Mono would stoop to rape, especially since Soco is not his type. He prefers women with a lot more meat on their bones. Who knows though, maybe Mono knew the guy from prison or from some shady deal he did, and Karla's dad will turn out to be dead or put away for life or something like that.

NinaK., I will add my good wishes and good recovery for your mother along with the commenter here. Good Luck!!!

I have some questions today that I hope someone can let me know the answers to?

1. What did Hugo say to Alejandro to get him to see Mili alone? I miss apart of what they said to each other?
2. What did Constancio say to Mili when he was bending down to kiss on her forehead?
3. What did Valeria said to Constancio during the time the gang was in Mili's room to get him react?
4. How many weeks do we have left of this show "Al diablo con los guapos"? When is the last show(day)?

Thanks! I would appreciate it if I knew the answers.

Ooops, looks like my post crossed with Maggie's about Karla's dancing ;) Great minds with M initials think alike!

Genevieve:

1. I think Hugo just told Al he'd only be a few minutes and that he'd leave, or something like that.
2. Mili asked Connie if he wasn't happy to see or wanted to congratulate her (something like that) since everyone else had. He said he'd been very worried and was very happy to see her well.
3. Al had asked PM to marry them right there and PM said Mili deserved her wedding in the church, being walked in the arm of...whoever wanted to walk her (nice save that everyone knew the answer to) and Val said Connie should do it...'cause he was technically her big brother! Ah, I just love it when they mess with Connie.
4. We have a little over two weeks left. The final epi is scheduled for 9/19. We don't know what the schedules say yet, so a lot of us are planning to have our VCRs/DVRs taping from 7 to 10 (EST) to be safe.

I'd forgotten the part with Karla in the maid uniform; that was funny. Presumably she can get out of the uniform on the stripper stage about as much as she got out of it in Damian's room. She's running out of time but I think she will change her ways and be redeemed. Andrea, on the other hand, should die of the nasty diseases she reminds me of.

I'm still a little disappointed that we aren't getting Tantas next, but I'm hoping later, maybe if Fuego ever ever ends. I did see that Rene Strickler and Jorge de Silva are going to be in Cuidado Con el Angel, so that makes it a little more promising for me.

Thanks! Margarita Chilaquiles for my answers to my questions. That was helpful.

I live on the west coast, so "Al diablo con los guapos" shows here at 7 pm Mountain Standard time. I wanted to pencil it in on my calendar, so I can watch the last showing of Al diablo con los guapos. Personally, I enjoyed the show. I will miss it. Hopefully, the new show about Angel or such will grab my attention. Al diablo con los guapos is the only Spanish speaking show that I watch at night. I don't see the other shows on UNIVISION like Fuego.

I thought that Alejandro would be more guarded around Mili now especially with Hugo. I thought Alejandro might have said something to warn Hugo to watch it with Mili while she was still in coma. I PERSONALLY WOULDN'T TRUST HUGO AFTER THIS INCIDENT.
mAyBe hE Will REdeem oR noT?
mAYbE kARlA WIll HAve A rEScUeR?

i DON'T Like Andrea at all. Whatever happens to her will be fine.

Will SOMEONE recommend a show for me to watch after this is gone?

Ok, so what is up with Ramses? Apparently they couldn't afford to keep him around for the last two weeks. Oh, and why is it that it took Rubi a couple of weeks to recover from her fall, yet Mili did it in two days? I doubt modern medicine has advance so much in three years. And by the bye, Rubi was covered with scars and missing a leg, Mili barely has a rash and a bump on the head...

Hi,

Does anyone know the secret to why they changed Mili's mom from the original actress. I have been watching so far, and still do not understand why they changed her..

thanks...
p.s sorry to hear about your mom.
